- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey everybody, good morning.
- 0:29OK, We're standing in the garage because I just had an epiphany
- 0:34about the fact that I have been feeling since I came home from
- 0:37my trip, I've been feeling very just amped up.
- 0:42I guess that's the best way to say it.
- 0:44I've been very amped up and I could not figure out why.
- 0:47And I kept thinking to myself, you know, I pay attention.
- 0:51I'm watching myself and the amped upness I realized was
- 0:56coming in from this very unusual situation.
- 1:00So obviously, this time of year is very tricky, right?
- 1:03We just had the snow. We've had this horrible weather.
- 1:06We've had, you know, it's just been really, really dank and
- 1:09cold and awful. And then when I got back, things
- 1:12started to thaw out. And we've had a warm up the last
- 1:16two days and it's been a little warmer than we would normally
- 1:20see in January. So it went from like freezing
- 1:23cold, colder than we've ever seen all the way.
- 1:25And so start contrast. But I started feeling this a
- 1:29couple days ago and I couldn't figure out like what was going
- 1:33on. And I just felt like, all right,
- 1:35I was waking up earlier than I normally do, which is very
- 1:37early. Normally I'm up and at it at
- 1:40like 4:30 in the morning and now I'm waking up at like 3:45.
- 1:45I'm like, why, why is all this happening?
- 1:47Couldn't go like even my brain wasn't shutting off at night,
- 1:49which is not unlike me. It does happen.
- 1:53However, I manage it really well and I could not figure out what
- 1:56was going on. So this morning I walked out to
- 1:59go to my studio because I have these favorite pens and I I ran
- 2:04out of ink. So I walked out it's pitch dark.
- 2:06I've got the flashlight. I come around the corner and
- 2:08there's this fresh smell in the air, like just really clean air.
- 2:13And it's smelled like spring to me.
- 2:15And I went, oh, Oh my gosh, I know what's going on.
- 2:18I've been triggered by all of this weather the last couple
- 2:23days that I am being signaled, like physically signaled to get
- 2:29out and do things like the it's it's spring, you're supposed to
- 2:33be growing things. And that trigger is always so
- 2:37exciting to me. But with the warm weather coming
- 2:40as quickly as it did, it made me feel behind.
- 2:43Now this warm weather is just an anomaly.
- 2:45It's not going to stay. I couldn't put anything in the
- 2:48ground right now. If I try, it would be the wrong
- 2:50time to do it unless I was planting something that you
- 2:54know, was a winter vegetable. I could probably even get away
- 2:58with doing some things, lettuce, whatnot.
- 3:00But I don't, I don't usually do that.
- 3:02I usually hold up and I plant everything in the spring.
- 3:06But I had this whole wave that come out that just came
- 3:10physically right over me about spring and it was this rush of
- 3:14excitement and all of a sudden I recognized it.
- 3:18I felt behind because I don't have my trays set up for my
- 3:22seeds. I haven't the seat.
- 3:24The last delivery of seeds is not even here to arrive yet.
- 3:27I haven't sorted out where it's all going.
- 3:29I only have one garden cleaned out, but not cleaned out at the
- 3:33level I want it to. And I have not cleaned out the
- 3:36flower garden. And I have not cut out all the
- 3:38other beds because I wait as long as I can to make sure
- 3:41anything that has, you know, laid eggs in there and is
- 3:44nesting in there, butterflies and whatnot, has an opportunity
- 3:47me to come out. So I was triggered by the
- 3:51springtime bug, but it also triggered me being behind, which
- 3:56my certainty girl absolutely can't stand.
- 4:00You're, you know, you're, if you are not ahead, then you are
- 4:03behind. That's how my brain works.
- 4:05So why am I telling you all of this?
- 4:07Because look at this one simple little tiny trigger.
- 4:11The The smell of fresh air sent my brain into this whirlwind,
- 4:17but it was already happening from the warm weather.
- 4:20I just didn't pick up on it. And these clues are so subtle.
- 4:25My friends, they show up though, and they're subtle and you have
- 4:28to look for them. When I start decoding it, I can
- 4:31go back and I can say, OK, this is something to do with
- 4:34springtime. But look, it's also to do with
- 4:37being behind. So which one is more important
- 4:40in my head, you have to start weighing these sometimes, which
- 4:43is affecting me more. Is it the trigger of springtime
- 4:45or is it the trigger of being behind?
- 4:47And for me, I can guarantee you it's the trigger of being
- 4:50behind. As soon as I set it, I started
- 4:53to feel a wave of peace come over me because now I knew and I
- 4:57can say, ah, let me bend time here.
- 4:59I have more than enough time. I couldn't put, I wouldn't put
- 5:02anything in the ground until, you know, as late as I possibly
- 5:07can in March because I don't want anything to get burnt or
- 5:12ruined or anything else, especially if I'm growing them
- 5:15inside, which I mean it, you know, here we are end of
- 5:18January. There is no way that I won't
- 5:21have things ready to go in the on the ground by the time I go.
- 5:24There's no way that they'll all these tray lights.
- 5:27Everything will be set up by the end of probably the end of next
- 5:31week. That was the timing I had
- 5:33planned, but the anxiety of the weather was pushing it for me.
- 5:37It was like and I didn't even realize it.
- 5:40So look for the subtle clues, pay attention, ask the right
- 5:44questions because sometimes they're so subtle.
- 5:46It's like a breath of fresh air. Did it.
- 5:49So I hope this was helpful to all of you and I will see you
- 5:52tomorrow with a much clearer head about planning and not
- 5:56feeling so far behind. All right my friends, have a
- 5:59blessed day. Bye.
