- 0:00Bag alert, bag alert, bag alert, bag alert folks.
- 0:06That's right.
- 0:07We got football tonight, but we really don't care about that right now because we got a
- 0:11bag alert and we got some trades.
- 0:13Okay, some may well one of them is a major trade.
- 0:17The other one, not so much little bit questionable, but who really cares about that?
- 0:21Okay, D hop goes to Kansas City.
- 0:25That's right.
- 0:26D hop, Deandre Hopkins goes to Kansas City.
- 0:30Alvin Kamera gets a bag during the season.
- 0:33Jerome Baker goes from Seattle to Tennessee.
- 0:37Probably want to get him some good ribs.
- 0:39I heard they got some good ribs down there.
- 0:41Devin White goes to the Texans.
- 0:43Cooper cut trade rumors?
- 0:45Question mark?
- 0:46Maybe?
- 0:47I don't know.
- 0:48Steelers do something?
- 0:50Vikings and Rams preview tonight.
- 0:53John Merrick gives his vote of confidence for both Joe Shane and Brian Dabel and some
- 1:00junkie bombs about the state of college football right now, especially the quarterbacks.
- 1:05Okay, you're not going to like what I'm going to say, but it has to be said.
- 1:09Okay, all of this and more on the 43rd episode of the football junkies podcast.
- 1:14Okay, I am your host with the most your GM who currently is not on a team right now.
- 1:21But don't you worry about that.
- 1:22I am all these things and more.
- 1:25I am your chief.
- 1:26Bagrodamas, I am your chief head of the table, chief meteorologist, bag meteorologist.
- 1:33Okay.
- 1:34But most importantly, I'm your host, Kale.
- 1:37You already know what I'm getting ready to say.
- 1:38Okay.
- 1:39You already know on three, one, two, three, let's lock in.
- 2:10All right, folks, let's get into the meat and potatoes of everything that's going on
- 2:18in the league right now.
- 2:20I want to try to keep this episode fairly short since I since the other episode was
- 2:24an hour long.
- 2:25So maybe it'll work.
- 2:28Maybe it doesn't work.
- 2:29Most of the times it don't work.
- 2:30Who cares?
- 2:31But let's get into this bag.
- 2:32Let's okay.
- 2:33Alvin Kamara gets paid during the season.
- 2:36Okay.
- 2:37This was a shocker.
- 2:38This was a curve ball.
- 2:40Okay.
- 2:42He gets a two year, $24.5 million deal.
- 2:45He'll be making 12.2 million a year.
- 2:48Okay.
- 2:49Now, when you look at his stats last year, 180 attempts for 694 rushing yards, 3.9 yards
- 2:55per carry, five touchdowns and 15 rushes of 10 plus yards and more.
- 3:01Let's be real here, folks.
- 3:03Alvin Kamara has definitely been one of their most consistent offensive weapons since coming
- 3:08into the league.
- 3:09Okay.
- 3:10You are talking about one of the most balanced running backs in the league.
- 3:14Okay.
- 3:15You're talking about somebody who is just as good of a runner as well as a pass catcher,
- 3:22you know, in the backfield.
- 3:24He can do it all.
- 3:25Like he's definitely been a very key piece in all of this.
- 3:31And you know, with him looming and possibly being a free agent after this season, you
- 3:37know, you want to make sure that you want to try to prevent that from happening.
- 3:41Okay.
- 3:42Because there are some teams that would be willing to give 12 to $13 million a year for
- 3:48Alvin Kamara just because of what he brings to the table.
- 3:52Because originally, let's remember here, folks, during the summer, there was a little bit
- 3:55of a mini holdout that, you know, he was trying to look for more money and it wasn't trying
- 4:00to budge, but now I think they've come to the realization that, hey, it's time we lock
- 4:06up our guy.
- 4:07Because again, he's one of the best.
- 4:10He's one of the most consistent.
- 4:11He always plays and he shows up.
- 4:15He showed up.
- 4:16He has shown up every single time when they need him the most.
- 4:21Alvin Kamara is there and he always delivers.
- 4:23So congratulations to him on getting his back.
- 4:26Now let's get into these trade.
- 4:28Let's get into the most important one and then we'll get into the one that really doesn't
- 4:32matter the most.
- 4:33Okay.
- 4:34So DHOP, former Titans, was it Titans, Texans and Cardinals, now Chiefs, receiver DHOP has
- 4:42been traded from the Titans to the Chiefs.
- 4:46Okay.
- 4:47So this is the breakdown and everything.
- 4:49Okay.
- 4:50So the Titans receive a 20-25 conditional fifth round pick that can turn into a fourth round
- 4:54pick if DHOP makes it to the Super Bowl and he plays 60 of his snaps.
- 5:00The Titans also agreed to pay 2.5 million of his contract before shipping him off to
- 5:07Kansas City.
- 5:08So when we look at this, it was definitely expected.
- 5:13This was definitely a move that was definitely going to happen either now or after Sunday
- 5:19simply because the Chiefs need a receiver.
- 5:23They need receiver help bad.
- 5:26And you know, what did the GM say?
- 5:28Help is on the way.
- 5:30Help is on the way.
- 5:31Don't you worry.
- 5:32Help is on the way and they deliver.
- 5:37Let's be real here, folks.
- 5:39Everyone knew that the Chiefs were going to get a receiver before the trade deadline was
- 5:43over.
- 5:44At some point they were going to get somebody, whether it be Deontay, Adam Thielen, Mike
- 5:49Williams, DHOP, Deontay Adams, whoever was was floating around.
- 5:54They were going to add was not on the roster.
- 5:58You know, the receiver core is basically decimated with injuries, right?
- 6:02Juju is hurt, but she rice is out.
- 6:05You know, it's it's not looking good.
- 6:08It really is not looking good for the Chiefs.
- 6:11And that offense just hasn't had that spark that has few years.
- 6:14So it was definitely a much needed move.
- 6:18It's actually a great move, honestly speaking, because you only gave up a fifth round pick
- 6:23that can that will that has a chance of turning into a fourth round pick.
- 6:27And he's not carrying this large cap hit.
- 6:31And you know, it's basically, you know, the rest of a year, not the rest of a year, but
- 6:36it's basically a small rental.
- 6:39I mean, it's a win-win situation.
- 6:40Now you guys look a little bit more competitive and you guys could possibly, you know, take
- 6:45this thing to the Super Bowl, which I don't I don't expect, but you know, there's that.
- 6:51But again, I think the main point that I want to drive in this trade is they got someone
- 6:58who is still a great red zone threat, who was still a great, you know, deep threat.
- 7:04And he's just he is still playing at a very high level.
- 7:07Do he still has some of the best hands in league right now?
- 7:11Sure, he may not have the explosive that he had, you know, when he was in his prime, but
- 7:15best believe when he throw his hand up to let you know that he's open, he's going to
- 7:20he's going to come down with that ball.
- 7:22I don't care who's covering him.
- 7:24It could be sauce, PS2 and somebody else all covering D hop.
- 7:30D hop is going to get that ball.
- 7:31He is going to find a way to get the ball.
- 7:35So does this necessarily, you know, change the temperature for the chiefs?
- 7:41No, not really, because I still think that they need to that they have to wait for Isaiah
- 7:47Pacheco to get healthy and others on that offense to get healthy in order to be taken,
- 7:52you know, seriously, because again, Patrick Mahomes does not look good this season.
- 7:57He doesn't.
- 7:58He does not look good.
- 7:59If it wasn't for the defense and especially having Chris Jones, the chiefs would have
- 8:05lost.
- 8:06They would have lost on Sunday against the 49ers, most definitely because Patrick Mahomes
- 8:10looked horrible.
- 8:12But now that they have D hop and they have someone that he can rely on, hey, this may
- 8:17change the winds of fate.
- 8:19Who knows?
- 8:20Now, let's go into the other trade.
- 8:23So former dolphins.
- 8:26Yeah.
- 8:27Yeah, he definitely played for the dolphins.
- 8:28And now former Seahawks linebacker Jerome Baker has been traded from the Seahawks to
- 8:36the Titans.
- 8:37Does it make any sense?
- 8:38No, not one bit.
- 8:39So basically the Titans receive a 20, 25, four-round pick and Jerome Baker, the Seahawks receive
- 8:45Ernest Jones.
- 8:46Now, I don't understand why they made this trade.
- 8:50I don't understand why they made this move.
- 8:54Maybe they wanted to try to maybe get somewhat of a quote unquote upgrade.
- 8:59Maybe I don't know.
- 9:01It definitely doesn't make any sense.
- 9:02It's definitely a head scratcher if we're being real here simply because, you know,
- 9:08they traded for Ernest Jones not too long ago.
- 9:11So why are you Jerome Baker?
- 9:12I don't know.
- 9:13I don't know.
- 9:14I'm not in these front offices.
- 9:17I just report what's going on.
- 9:19Does it make any sense?
- 9:21But who cares, honestly, if we're being real here?
- 9:23Let's get into another free age, well, another major thing that has occurred.
- 9:31Devin White is going to the Texans.
- 9:33Yeah.
- 9:34Devin White is going to the Texans.
- 9:36So basically, you know, the Texans linebacker room has been decimated with injuries.
- 9:42Christian Harris is still on IR with a calf injury.
- 9:46Henry Tutu is still in concussion protocol.
- 9:50disease, I'll show you, still has a knee injury.
- 9:54So you know, they definitely needed to bring in somebody just to, you know, keep things
- 10:00afloat.
- 10:01And the best option is Devin White.
- 10:03Now granted, do I feel like Devin White, you know, should do I feel like Devin White
- 10:08shouldn't have been a free agent for sure?
- 10:10I feel like the Eagles missed out on using someone like a Devin White because they need
- 10:15someone like a Devin White because he's still he's still a good, rangy, you know, coverage
- 10:21linebacker.
- 10:22He still is.
- 10:23So I just don't understand why in the world you wouldn't want to use Devin White, but
- 10:29you know, onto greener pastures.
- 10:32If now we do have to talk about the the biggest news that everybody, especially Steelers fans
- 10:40have been raving about since the news came out, so according to Diana Roussini from the
- 10:45athletic, she reported, I think a few days ago, basically stating that, you know, Cooper
- 10:52Cup is available.
- 10:53He's available for trade.
- 10:55And you know, when I first when I first got the news, I was just like, maybe I don't know.
- 11:00It seems a little bit too good to be true.
- 11:03But you know, as time went by, it was just like, yeah, that actually sounds like a really
- 11:08good situation and a really good option for the Steelers.
- 11:13And you know, this is this is what I'll say because I was arguing with people about this
- 11:19move that were basically saying, oh, well, what about the money this than the other blah,
- 11:24blah, blah.
- 11:25Let me tell you something.
- 11:27Next year, he's only guaranteed $5 million.
- 11:32He's only guaranteed $5 million.
- 11:33Now, the Rams are looking for a second round pick and they're willing to take on some of
- 11:38his salary.
- 11:39So I think right now he's making I think his salary this year is like nine, nine million
- 11:45around that ballpark.
- 11:47So if they're willing to take some of it, maybe about three, three to five million, that's
- 11:53easy to work with now granted the second round pick, you know what, I'm gonna have to put
- 11:57in my GM hat.
- 11:58Where's my GM hat?
- 11:59There we go.
- 12:01Now, this is what I will say me personally, I would do it simply because Cooper Cup, regardless
- 12:08of what anybody would say, is still one of the best receivers in the league.
- 12:12Granted, I understand he's been banged up, you know, lately, I get all of that.
- 12:17But guess what?
- 12:18When he is on that field, he is one of the best receivers in the league.
- 12:23I will continue to say that and I will continue to beat on the table and say, because again,
- 12:29Cooper Cup has that both inside and outside versatility.
- 12:33He's a really good blocker.
- 12:35He doesn't he doesn't bring all this drama, you know, with you.
- 12:39He's just a blue collar, put your head down, get to work type of receiver.
- 12:44And that's what, you know, that's what a lot of teams need, especially for the Steelers.
- 12:49If I'm the Steelers, I'm picking up the phone and I'm giving them exactly what they want.
- 12:54I'm doing it.
- 12:56And this is what I will say.
- 12:57And I'm going to be very honest here for just a quick moment, you're going to hear a little
- 13:01bit of my fandom.
- 13:03Omar, you have to get this done.
- 13:06You have to get this done simply because the time now, if you really want to maximize this
- 13:12maximize this year, if you really want to see where the team is, you have to somewhat
- 13:19be all in.
- 13:20Now I'm not saying you have to get rid of all your draft picks and, you know, destroy
- 13:25your cap space for players.
- 13:26I'm not saying that.
- 13:28But listen, you got a little bit of a spark on Sunday.
- 13:33You want to keep on building off of that spark.
- 13:35You want to turn that spark into a full blown wildfire.
- 13:39You want that simply because if you add Cooper Cup, that's an instant upgrade to the offense.
- 13:46You basically have somebody that's going to take a lot of attention away, which then opens
- 13:51up the field for other players like George Pickens, Calvin Austin, Pat Friar move and
- 13:57company.
- 13:58I'm just saying.
- 13:59I understand that you want to wait and, you know, play it safe and whatnot.
- 14:04You can't play it safe with this.
- 14:06You can't.
- 14:07You whiffed on Brandy Nyewick.
- 14:10You wasn't able to get Devonte Adams.
- 14:12I don't know what's going on with the whole Mike, Mike Williams situation.
- 14:18You have to get a receiver.
- 14:21If you want to be serious, if you want to do more than just win just one playoff game,
- 14:27if you really want to make a run, you have to do this because guess what?
- 14:33If you don't do this, there's going to be another team that's going to be lurking.
- 14:37That's going to be, that's going to be a little bit more aggressive and get Cooper Cup.
- 14:42And then guess what?
- 14:43Then you're going to be ass out and then you're going to be saying, well, we tried to do the
- 14:47best that we could, but you know, we were just trying to be patient.
- 14:51No, forget about being patient.
- 14:53Patient doesn't get you anything.
- 14:55What patient gets you is a, is the end of your season while everybody else's season
- 15:01is still going on.
- 15:02Let's be, let's be real here.
- 15:05We still haven't forgot about how you whiffed on Deontay Johnson.
- 15:09We still haven't forgot about that.
- 15:11If you trade for Cooper Cup, you make things right.
- 15:15Once again, you're back in the good graces because right now the stain that is on Omar
- 15:22Cohn's, you know, track record right now is the Deontay Johnson trade.
- 15:27Now granted, I understand that he did it because Deontay Johnson was calling, was causing
- 15:32a little bit of riffraff and he was being a little bit more public about his views and
- 15:36opinions about the lack of quarterback play.
- 15:39I get all of that, but it, it, you solved one problem.
- 15:44Well, you somewhat solved one problem to create another.
- 15:49That's essentially what you did.
- 15:51And now you're trying to rewrite this wrong and it hasn't gotten you anywhere.
- 15:56It hasn't.
- 15:57You were too patient with the brand night you look situation.
- 16:00What happened that blew up in your face.
- 16:04There's been multiple, you've had multiple opportunities to get a receiver and you've
- 16:10been quote unquote too patient.
- 16:12You cannot do it because guess what?
- 16:15There is a team like the Eagles in company who are just lurking, lurking, waiting to
- 16:22figure out, okay, can we do this?
- 16:24Okay, maybe if we move this money around and we do this, this and this, maybe we can create
- 16:29a little bit of cash space right here, move this over, push this back to that.
- 16:33Make the trade now.
- 16:35Make the trade now after this, after tonight's game, you have to make that trade pronto like
- 16:41Hancho, because if you don't, and if you whiff on this, people are going to come at you.
- 16:48People are going to be very critical at you because why Russell Wilson?
- 16:53I understand this is his first game with the Steelers, but that offense, it showed a lot.
- 16:58This is the second game where the offense looks very fluid.
- 17:02You want to keep on building off of this.
- 17:04You want to the defense is playing, you know, at their playing like like their like their
- 17:09head is on fire.
- 17:10The offense is starting to get there.
- 17:13If you really want to know what you have, you got to bring in some weapons.
- 17:18You have to bring in some weapons.
- 17:19Who knows?
- 17:20Now, I'm not saying this team could, if we get a Cobra Cup and whatnot, will this make
- 17:26this team, you know, a Super Bowl team?
- 17:28No, I'm not saying that.
- 17:30What I am saying is this can make this team a whole lot more competitive than what people
- 17:36expect.
- 17:38That's all I'm saying.
- 17:39And I'll just leave it there.
- 17:41Okay.
- 17:42Now, moving on to the other things that do need to be discussed.
- 17:47We got football tonight, folks.
- 17:48Yes.
- 17:49That's right.
- 17:50We got football tonight.
- 17:52So Vikings and Rams play tonight.
- 17:54Honestly, I feel like a lot is on a lot is on the line for both will mainly for the Rams
- 18:01than it is for the for the Vikings.
- 18:03And I'll I'll get into that in a little bit.
- 18:05But these are just a few junkie nuggets that I have, you know, rolled down and whatnot.
- 18:10So this is what I'll say.
- 18:12So the Vikings are coming off a loss to the Lions, of course, 2931.
- 18:16The Rams are coming off a W against the Raiders, which is cool.
- 18:19There is optimism that both Puka, Nakuha and Cobra Cup will play tonight, which is definitely
- 18:25some some big news.
- 18:27And in all six games, Matthew Stafford has thrown for less than two touchdowns this season.
- 18:33Now this is what I will say.
- 18:36The Rams offense has not looked good since Puka and Cobra Cup has been out.
- 18:42It has not.
- 18:43And, you know, this is a very important game for the Rams, because this game is going to
- 18:48determine if there's going to be a fire sale or if there's hope.
- 18:54That's big.
- 18:55They're at a crossroads right now, and they're trying to figure out exactly, you know, what
- 19:00exactly do do they want to do moving forward, because I guarantee you if the Rams win tonight's
- 19:07game, it'll calm down the trade rumors for Cobra Cup.
- 19:12It will.
- 19:13Now I'm not saying it will completely extinguish it, but it will definitely tamp it down just
- 19:18a little bit.
- 19:19But if the Rams lose tonight, it's going to heighten up those it's going to heighten
- 19:25up those trade rumors.
- 19:26And then you'll probably see a quicker turnover, you know, of a trade happening for Cobra a
- 19:33little bit longer and whatnot, because remember, the trade deadline got pushed back by by a
- 19:38week.
- 19:39So next week is the last full week of, you know, observing and figuring out what teams
- 19:47want to do moving forward.
- 19:49Right.
- 19:50And you know what, I think I'm going to explain more of that in another episode.
- 19:53I think I think I need to do that just so just so we can just so we can break things
- 19:58down because there is a bigger there was a bigger topic that that that needs to be discussed
- 20:04with that.
- 20:06And yeah, I'll just leave it at that.
- 20:08But you know, for me, what I am expecting tonight is basically a game where the Vikings
- 20:18are going to be aggressive.
- 20:20They're going to be aggressive.
- 20:21They're going to be, you know, they're going to show they're going to bounce back and they're
- 20:26going to continue to be dominant.
- 20:28Granted, you know, it was a very close game.
- 20:31It was still anybody's game with with their game against the against the Lions.
- 20:37But you know, if they want to get back on straight street, if they want to get back
- 20:40into the W column, this is the night.
- 20:43This is the night.
- 20:44This is the team.
- 20:45All those different types of things.
- 20:47Okay.
- 20:48But that Vikings defense, they're going to do their thing.
- 20:51They're going to impose.
- 20:52They're going to try to impose their will on that Rams offense.
- 20:57Because again, the Rams offense is it hasn't been as productive and granted that a lot
- 21:02of that has to do with with injuries and whatnot.
- 21:05But you know, are they going to continue and keep the that they have when they won the
- 21:10Super Bowl?
- 21:11Or are they going to start taking calls for certain people stock up their draft picks
- 21:15and then just build through the draft?
- 21:18That's just how I look at it.
- 21:19Now I could I could definitely be wrong.
- 21:21Now on to the one of the last things.
- 21:25Wow, we're only at 20 minutes.
- 21:27Oh, wow.
- 21:28I told you guys this this episode is going to be fairly short, you know, because I don't
- 21:32want to try to I don't want to try to give you guys these long, like super, super, super,
- 21:37super long episodes.
- 21:38I want to try to give you a mix of long episodes and short episodes just so you guys can have
- 21:44a, you know, a mixed bag of everything.
- 21:46So last night, well, yesterday afternoon slash night, basically John Merrill, you know, went
- 21:53public and somebody asked him about, you know, will he be firing both Brian Dable and Joe
- 21:59Shane?
- 22:01And basically he to some things up basically said that he is going to be more patient than
- 22:07what he has in recent years and give them time to show them, you know, that they can
- 22:12turn things around, which that's that's perfectly fine.
- 22:15But I think my gripe is, I think at this point, Joe Shane has to show John Merrill, the owner
- 22:23of the Giants, exactly what what is his plan moving forward, because there needs to be
- 22:29a plan because the offense is lackluster.
- 22:33The offense is lacking of talent.
- 22:35And you took away one of the most important key pieces of the offense because you decided
- 22:41that you didn't want to pay him.
- 22:43On top of that, you decided that you wanted to keep Daniel Jones instead of possibly drafting,
- 22:49you know, the quarterback for the future, because let's be real here.
- 22:52Daniel Jones does not look good.
- 22:55That contract that they gave him is starting to look like it was a bad deal.
- 23:00And I get it, you know, not every deal that you give, you know, your players is going
- 23:04to be great and whatnot, and it's going to, you know, age like wine and, you know, as
- 23:10time moves forward, I get all of that.
- 23:13But the offense is lacking of talent.
- 23:15Malik neighbors is learning their best offensive weapon.
- 23:19And he's only one person.
- 23:20He's only one person.
- 23:23I'm not saying that, you know, you have to, you know, blow a whole bag on the offense.
- 23:29But, you know, you didn't help yourself by not trying to keep say, the tone in the way
- 23:36that he was basically, you know, talking to say, he was he basically was talking himself
- 23:42out of re-signing say, even though say, Kwan said, Hey, I want to be here.
- 23:47I've told you multiple times, I would like to be a giant.
- 23:52And you decided that you were not going to pay say, Kwan and basically said, well, there's
- 23:58no need to pay a sequel.
- 23:59There's no need to pay a running back that much amount of money.
- 24:02Well, I beg to differ, sir, because right now that running back is having one of the
- 24:08best seasons of his life with the Eagles.
- 24:12And he's way more healthier.
- 24:13Just saying, like, let's be real here.
- 24:16Darius Layton most likely is going to get traded because he is the main person that
- 24:22everybody has been, you know, speculating that he's definitely going to get traded.
- 24:26Jaylen Hyatt.
- 24:27I mean, what is he really done?
- 24:30What else do you have?
- 24:31Okay.
- 24:32Theo Johnson is a rookie and he definitely does look good.
- 24:36He definitely has been, you know, productive and whatnot.
- 24:39But him and Malik neighbor is only two people.
- 24:42You have to do more.
- 24:44You have to do more.
- 24:45If you were persisting and getting Brian Burns, you have to do the same for the offense and
- 24:51granting the defense.
- 24:53They have Tibidot.
- 24:54You have Dexter Lawrence and you have Brian Burns.
- 24:58Okay, cool.
- 24:59Three three pieces that you can sort of build off of.
- 25:03But that's only one side of the ball.
- 25:05You still have to, you know, do more for the offense as well, because if you don't do anything
- 25:10for the offense, guess what?
- 25:12You're not going to go anywhere.
- 25:13Brian Dable needs an adequate quarterback.
- 25:17He needs adequate weapons in order to maximize his chances of winning because let's be real
- 25:24here, folks.
- 25:26Washington looks dangerous.
- 25:28Washington is going to be a problem moving forward.
- 25:30They are going to be a problem.
- 25:32They are going to be a hot destination for free agents next year.
- 25:37Watch what I say.
- 25:38You heard it here first on the football junkies podcast.
- 25:41They are going to be a problem because why?
- 25:44Leadership is stable.
- 25:45The quarterback is playing dynamic and, you know, they have a lot of catch base.
- 25:52So they're going to be able to bring in some big fish.
- 25:55If we're being real here, all all Washington really has to do is just boost up that defense
- 26:00a little bit more, just a little bit, just a few, a few areas.
- 26:04I would definitely say pass rush and the defensive line, especially the interior defensive line
- 26:09definitely has to be bolster up a little bit more.
- 26:12And then for the offense, all they need is another receiver and maybe a more productive
- 26:18tight end.
- 26:19And then bam, you have yourself a complete team, a young complete team that is ready
- 26:25to decimate and destroy.
- 26:28But you can't do that, Joe Shane.
- 26:29That's why you decided that you wanted to trade for Brian Burns and pay all that money
- 26:35to him when you should have done the right thing and taken care of a say, Kwame Barkley,
- 26:41but hey, that's on you, sir.
- 26:43But again, back to the main point at hand, John Merrick, you have to basically say, okay,
- 26:50listen, Brian Dabel, you're cool.
- 26:52Continue to keep coaching.
- 26:54You're doing a great job with with the situation, you know, the, with the team is in right now
- 26:59for Joe Shane, I need to see at least a five to 15 point plane of exactly, okay, we're
- 27:05going to address these, these positions and free agency.
- 27:10We're going to address this position in the draft.
- 27:14We're going where we've been looking at these prospects right here.
- 27:17We feel like with these prospects, they will give us the best chance of being, you know,
- 27:21competitive and they will provide an instant upgrade to that particular position compared
- 27:27to just, you know, just doing willy nilly, right?
- 27:31Like come on, it you have to do better because why the cowboys are weak.
- 27:38The Eagles don't look that good.
- 27:41This is the time now where you have to really build yourself up.
- 27:47That's all I'm saying.
- 27:48Now, last thing I want to talk about because I'm talking about it a whole lot is college
- 27:52football.
- 27:53Yes, college football.
- 27:55Now, this is what I will say and I'm just going to be very honest here and I understand
- 27:59that, you know, the season is, is we're starting to reach somewhat of the midpoint of college
- 28:04football.
- 28:05I get all that, but these quarterbacks really don't look that good.
- 28:09They don't Carson Beck does not look like a first round pick.
- 28:13Jaylen Millrow does not look like a first round pick.
- 28:15Both of those two do not look like first round picks.
- 28:18If we're being real here, the only two quarterbacks right now that I would take in the first
- 28:23round is either Cam Ward or should or those are the only two Miami.
- 28:29Miami looks like old Miami.
- 28:31Honestly speaking here in Colorado, I don't think this I don't think this is the year
- 28:36that people can sleep on Colorado.
- 28:38Colorado looks like a very dangerous team that can, you know, put points on the board,
- 28:45but at the same time when they need to make a play, they can make a play.
- 28:47And I'm not saying that just because they have Travis Hunter, but you know, there's
- 28:51something different about this Colorado team.
- 28:54It is.
- 28:55And, you know, the defense looks better.
- 28:58The offense looks way more productive and way more consistent.
- 29:02And you know, they have a chance.
- 29:03They do.
- 29:04Now am I saying that they're going to be able to compete with, you know, a Michigan or Ohio
- 29:10State or LSU?
- 29:12No, I'm not saying that, but I do think that they can make a run.
- 29:16I do believe that they can do it because again, this Georgia team does not look good.
- 29:23It doesn't.
- 29:24And then Alabama, Alabama for a damn sure does not look good.
- 29:28And you know, this is sort of, I wouldn't say, I wouldn't say it's a spit in the face,
- 29:34but it's definitely, we have to appreciate Nick Saban a little bit more.
- 29:39And I, and granted, I understand, you know, we've seen all the clips of him, you know,
- 29:43chewing out his, you know, his players and whatnot, but you know why he did that?
- 29:48Because there was a level of expectation and discipline when you were, when you were going
- 29:54to Alabama.
- 29:57And now you just don't see that.
- 29:59A lot of the things that are happening now on, on Alabama's team, they would have never
- 30:05happened with Nick, Nick Saban.
- 30:07They wouldn't have.
- 30:09There is a standard for every single person coming into that college when, when they were
- 30:15under Nick Saban.
- 30:16I don't care if he was a five star prospect.
- 30:18I don't care if he was a one star prospect.
- 30:20I don't even care if he was a no, no star prospect.
- 30:24There was a set level of standards and expectations that you had to meet every single day, every
- 30:31single game.
- 30:32And if you did not do it, you're going simple as that.
- 30:36And Jalen Milrow, he has not looked that good.
- 30:39Carson Beck has not looked that good.
- 30:42All these other quarterbacks have not really looked that good.
- 30:45And it's sort of scary because it sort of feels like that one year where it was McAruel,
- 30:52Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett, Will Leviss and, and, and all those various quarterbacks.
- 30:58That's really the vibe that I'm getting off this year.
- 31:01Now can things change?
- 31:03Sure.
- 31:04You know, even if they were to change just a little bit, I still don't think that it
- 31:09would move the needle substantially to say, Oh, Jalen Milrow is the first round pick or
- 31:14Carson Beck is the first round pick.
- 31:16I just don't see it.
- 31:17I'm just being completely honest here, but I want to end this episode right here.
