- 0:05You're listening to Beyond the Sermon, the podcast of First
- 0:08Methodist Church in Collingswood, NJ.
- 0:10On our podcast, the goal is not just to share our sermons, but
- 0:14to go beyond the sermon and talk about what we're learning and
- 0:16what God is doing in US and in our community.
- 0:19The sermon you're about to listen to comes from our Spring
- 0:21Mixtape 2025 non series sermon series rather than a series, and
- 0:27this will be a collection of sermons based on what God is
- 0:29leading us to preach on this spring.
- 0:31You can find more information about our church at
- 0:33fumccollingswood.org. Thanks for listening.
- 0:43Today's first Scripture verse comes from Jeremiah 29.
- 0:48For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to
- 0:51prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
- 0:55future. Then you will call on me and
- 0:58come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
- 1:00You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all of
- 1:03your heart, I will be found by you, declares the Lord.
- 1:07And to bring you back from captivity, I will gather you
- 1:11from all the nations and places I have banished you, declares
- 1:14the Lord, and I will bring you back to the places from which I
- 1:17carried you into exile. This is the word of God for the
- 1:20people of God. Morning everybody, hear me?
- 1:26OK, hello. Alright, so my name is Lydia
- 1:34Baudelaire. For those of you who don't know,
- 1:36I'm Steven Joanna's daughter and I'm going to be sharing my
- 1:38testimony with you today. An overall theme I found is how
- 1:41your circumstance affects your relationship with God and how
- 1:44big of a difference he can make. Also how much a good community
- 1:48can strengthen your relationship and point you towards God.
- 1:52My testimony isn't a very complicated one, but looking
- 1:54back I can clearly see how much my faith has changed my life.
- 1:58I've been going to church for as long as I can remember.
- 2:01I went to EUM and Clarksboro for the first few years of my life,
- 2:04which is right around the corner from where I live.
- 2:07It was where my mom grew up and where my parents got married.
- 2:10I grew up hearing Sunday school stories like Daniel and the
- 2:13Lyons and and Noah's Ark, knowing the empty egg among the
- 2:16full ones full of candy representing the empty tomb on
- 2:18Easter morning, and I was always so excited.
- 2:21My teacher will mention the story of Lydia.
- 2:24When I was little, I had no clue what a relationship with God
- 2:27was. Even after moving to Trinity,
- 2:29which a lot of you have heard of, I was still oblivious to
- 2:31this. I continued to learn about Bible
- 2:34stories and sang songs about how good God was, but never made an
- 2:37effort to really know him, mainly because I had no clue how
- 2:41my family went to Trinity for almost five years.
- 2:43We went to service every Sunday unless Sunday came up and we
- 2:46couldn't. I went to the children's group
- 2:48for a while with Miss Meg and many other wonderful teachers
- 2:50until I sadly aged out of it. When I was old enough to go to
- 2:54the youth group, I never did. I didn't really know anybody,
- 2:58which was the main reason I never went.
- 3:00I remember Jeremy talking to me on Sunday mornings after service
- 3:03trying to bribe me into going to youth group.
- 3:05It never worked. Looking back, not knowing
- 3:08anybody in the youth group drastically affected my
- 3:10relationship with God because I had nobody close to my age told
- 3:13me to get to know Him better. Overall, I never really felt
- 3:16connected to God at Trinity, mainly because of the previous
- 3:19reason but also because I didn't know Him at the time.
- 3:22I frequently seen the phrase knowing of God versus knowing
- 3:25God. I now see how much that applies
- 3:27to my life. I knew of God during this time,
- 3:30but I never made an effort to have a relationship with Him.
- 3:32I didn't know what that was. I didn't think it would make a
- 3:35difference in my life. Looking back, I clearly see what
- 3:38haven't got in my life. Knowing Him and having people
- 3:40who made me want to get closer to Him made such a difference in
- 3:42my overall life and how much my faith was strengthened.
- 3:46As you all know, Pastor Scott left Trinity and came here.
- 3:49My family and many others followed a little while after
- 3:51that. When I heard about him and his
- 3:53family leaving, I was sad at first because I got to know them
- 3:56so well. I knew my family would
- 3:58eventually follow them, so I wasn't surprised when we
- 4:00officially left Trinity. It was weird adjusting to
- 4:03another church and new environment that ended up being
- 4:06such a blessing when we first came here.
- 4:09I was very happy to hear Pastor Scott preach again.
- 4:12The first few services didn't affect me much since I was
- 4:14hearing the same pastor I heard for so many years.
- 4:16I didn't feel like something new.
- 4:19I don't really feel at home here until the first night I came to
- 4:21Youth Group. I was so nervous walking into
- 4:23the youth room for the first time, but that quickly faded.
- 4:26I vividly remember playing Django with Sean Zuk and a few
- 4:29other people, and there was something about the way they
- 4:31were talking to me, as if I'd known them forever, that made me
- 4:33feel so welcome. After the first night I came to
- 4:37Youth Group, I couldn't wait for the next Sunday.
- 4:40The welcoming environment and the amazing people I met gave me
- 4:43a feeling that this place was right for me and it would be in
- 4:45my home church. To me, that means somewhere I
- 4:47feel welcomed, not judged, and surrounded by people who almost
- 4:50feel like family. Once I frequently came to youth
- 4:53group, I began to see a change in my faith.
- 4:56I saw how close everybody was with God and how they all
- 4:58reflected His life. When I saw this, I was so
- 5:01inspired to get closer to God. I want to know more about Him,
- 5:04spend more time in the Word, and actually have a relationship
- 5:06with Him. I began to figure out what that
- 5:09meant and the steps to take to build my relationship, such as
- 5:11spending time in the Word and surrounding myself with a good
- 5:14community. The turning point in my faith
- 5:16was when the youth group started the Lent challenge of reading
- 5:18John. It was the first time I actually
- 5:20read my Bible in depth, and once it started, I knew I wanted to
- 5:23keep going. About halfway through this
- 5:26challenge, I decided I want a new Bible.
- 5:28I've been using a paperback I received at a day camp during my
- 5:31elementary school years, but I wanted my own.
- 5:33That was special to me, the colour I liked and most of all I
- 5:36wanted space to write. I found one on Amazon which had
- 5:40margins on the side that I could write in and the words of Jesus
- 5:43in red. I had about before this but
- 5:45didn't have any special features like my new one had.
- 5:50Excuse me, This Bible has held my faith so much, especially
- 5:54since I have been able to journal as I read.
- 5:57Excuse me? Not only did I want a Bible to
- 6:01journal in, but I saw all the pretty Bibles the girls around
- 6:03me had and I love them so much. Excuse me.
- 6:22All right, OK, I saw all the highlighted verses and little
- 6:27side notes and I want to one just like that.
- 6:29I can clearly see how God used the people around me to
- 6:32strengthen my relationship with them.
- 6:34Even something something as simple as a colorful highlighted
- 6:36Bible. When I finished John, I asked
- 6:39Jeremy about what I should read next and they gave me a whole
- 6:41plan, which set me up with a few books that have helped me grow
- 6:43my faith so much. In addition to reading my Bible
- 6:47more, I've gotten so much closer with the people in the youth
- 6:49group who I'm now happy to call some of my best friends.
- 6:53Because of the amazing people I've got to know, I was able to
- 6:56go on the 2023 winter retreat. I got so much closer to the
- 6:59youth group and I was happily able to give my life to Christ.
- 7:03This is one of the major things that strengthen my faith and my
- 7:05relationship with God. I've been able to see how He
- 7:08works through the people around me and how they reflect that
- 7:10every time I see them. Seeing all the relationships I
- 7:13built over the years and how my faith has changed has made me
- 7:16realize that Collingswood is the right place for me.
- 7:19Jeremiah 29 verse 11 says for I know the plans I have for you
- 7:22and declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
- 7:26plans to give you hope and a future.
- 7:28This verse has been a constant reminder to me that God always
- 7:30has a plan. You seen where you've been, He
- 7:33knows where you'll go and He'll always make sure that is the
- 7:35right place for you. Looking back, there is such a
- 7:38clear difference in my life from before and after coming to
- 7:40Collingswood and coming to know Christ.
- 7:43Overall, my life changed for the better.
- 7:45I began to see things and God I'm used to seeing such as
- 7:48beautiful sunny day or flowers growing in sidewalk cracks.
- 7:52God opened my eyes to see everything as a blessing, know
- 7:54that everything happens for a reason and has encouraged me to
- 7:57grow with the people around me. I had own respect perspective on
- 8:01life and I often wonder where I would be if I hadn't come to you
- 8:04through that one night. Coming to Collingswood and being
- 8:08in a whole new environment has changed not only my faith and my
- 8:11life as well. More than words can describe.
- 8:14And I can't express all the gratitude I have for the amazing
- 8:16people I had the pleasure to grow with over the past three
- 8:18years and the opportunity to share the story with you all.
- 8:22I'm going to close some prayer. Dear God, I thank you so much
- 8:26for this day and the opportunity to share my testimony with these
- 8:29wonderful people. I ask that you bless each and
- 8:31every one of them as we enter a new week and I pray that they
- 8:34will take something away from our time together.
- 8:36I pray that they know your plans above all else and you will
- 8:38always make sure they're in the right place.
- 8:40I pray for Elizabeth as she comes to share and that you will
- 8:43guide her and let everyone take something away from her
- 8:44testimony as well. I pray that your peace be with
- 8:47all these people and everything they do and guide them through
- 8:49this week. In your name we pray.
- 8:51Amen. This morning, second scripture
- 9:02comes from First Corinthians chapter 10.
- 9:07I have the right to do anything you say, but not everything is
- 9:10beneficial. I have the right to do anything,
- 9:13but not everything is constructive.
- 9:15No one should seek their own good but the good of the others.
- 9:18Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions
- 9:21of conscience. For the earth is the Lord's and
- 9:24everything in it. If an unbeliever invites you to
- 9:26a meal and you want to go, eat whatever they put in front of
- 9:29you without raising questions of conscience.
- 9:32But if someone says to you this has been offered in sacrifice,
- 9:35do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for
- 9:39the sake of conscience. I'm referring to the other
- 9:41person's conscience and not yours.
- 9:44For why is my freedom being judged by another's conscience?
- 9:47If I take part in a meal with thankfulness, why am I
- 9:50denouncing because of something I thank God for?
- 9:53So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for
- 9:57the word of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble,
- 10:00whether Jews, reeks or the Church of God, even as I try to
- 10:04please everyone in every way. For I'm not seeking my own good,
- 10:08but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
- 10:11The Word of God for the people of God.
- 10:16OK, can everyone hear me? This is loud enough.
- 10:19OK, so I think last time I came up here and shared a testimony,
- 10:22I remember saying that was only sharing it because Sean asked me
- 10:26to and you cannot say no to Sean.
- 10:29This time is a little different because I think God wanted me to
- 10:33share and obviously you definitely do not say no to God.
- 10:37So 1st Corinthians 1031 is my favorite verse in the Bible says
- 10:42so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do everything
- 10:45for the glory of God. So I have that on my phone
- 10:48wallpaper and my Instagram bio. I'm going to make the assumption
- 10:53that you've heard the word surrender using some context
- 10:56with that being church or history.
- 10:58The dictionary defines surrender as to yield to the power,
- 11:01control, or possession of another upon compulsion or
- 11:04demand. To give up completely or agree
- 11:07to forgo, especially in favor of another.
- 11:10To give oneself up into the power of of another, especially
- 11:14as a prisoner. To give oneself over to
- 11:16something such as an influence like this.
- 11:19God calls us to surrender everything in our lives to Him.
- 11:22I've heard this countless times in my life and somehow I never
- 11:25really fully understood until this year.
- 11:28This past year I learned three main things.
- 11:29That surrender requires sacrifice, trust, and
- 11:34acceptance. Sacrificing my own plans, pride
- 11:37and expectations. Trusting that God's plan and
- 11:40timing is perfect and far better than what I could imagine, and
- 11:43accepting whatever is thrown my way.
- 11:46For those who know me, you know that I tend to overthink and
- 11:48plan. Those who don't know me, I am
- 11:51the person who will stand in Acme deciding which kind of
- 11:53bread to buy for a potluck for a good 10 minutes or to practice
- 11:57when I'm ordering in my head 10 times before the waiter comes or
- 12:01make Jeremy order for me. Or I will imagine every possible
- 12:05scenario before saying or doing something.
- 12:08So I guess you could say I like having control over my life.
- 12:11One particular thing I tried to control was my college search.
- 12:15As you know, I'm going to Messiah University.
- 12:17I am so excited and know that this is where God wants me.
- 12:21However, there was a point in time where I wasn't so sure.
- 12:24Earlier in November and December, a lot of people are
- 12:27asking where I'd applied, and I'd only applied to Messiah and
- 12:30already committed. Being within the top ten of my
- 12:32class and knowing and known for my involvement in various sports
- 12:36and clubs, I felt pressure to be applying to more prestigious
- 12:39schools, or at least more than just one.
- 12:41I started doubting my decision. On top of this I was scheduled
- 12:45for two scholarship interviews, one for the auditors program and
- 12:48one for the multicultural program.
- 12:50On the honor scholarship day I had an interview and I had to
- 12:54write an essay. The interview was on one-on-one
- 12:57with a professor which made me extra nervous.
- 13:00They told me that I had to wear business casual, which I don't
- 13:03know any teenager that just has business casual in their closet.
- 13:07I was not about to go out and spend $50 on new slacks and
- 13:11flats and any other dress shirt. So I wore a nice sweater vest
- 13:15and some jeans and my converse. So we get there and as soon as I
- 13:21got there I felt very out of place.
- 13:23Everyone else was wearing suits or flats and slacks and nice
- 13:27dress shirts making my converse stick out.
- 13:31As we were sitting down I began panicking and this was a actual
- 13:35snap that I sent to all my friends because I was freaking
- 13:37out and it says send help. Literally everything is going
- 13:42wrong. I walked in chewing gum because
- 13:45I didn't want bad breath and there was a lady already writing
- 13:47things down. Then I looked at the schedule
- 13:50and I could have met with a professor at 9:00 but I never
- 13:52got an e-mail with the schedule that said I could have so that
- 13:56Lady was probably writing down. That was late too.
- 13:58And I'm wearing jeans while everyone is wearing flats and
- 14:01slacks. What the heck?
- 14:03Who just has that at home? I am surrounded by hardcore
- 14:06nerds. Maybe I'm not supposed to be
- 14:09here. So my dad knows.
- 14:12I turned to him multiple times and was like, maybe I just
- 14:14shouldn't have come. I don't belong here because one
- 14:18of the one of the girls behind me was talking about the British
- 14:21method of factoring. And I was like, I didn't know
- 14:23that existed. So I remember that.
- 14:28I also got an e-mail about researching and basing my essay
- 14:31off of the six themes of the honors program.
- 14:33So of course I spent my time memorizing the themes and
- 14:37worrying before the interview. I made a mentalist of all the
- 14:40accomplishments and unique facts about myself that I was going to
- 14:43tell the professor. Then walking into my interview,
- 14:46of course I tripped on the chair right before shaking his hands.
- 14:51The then of course I was so nervous that I apologized to the
- 14:56chair. So then the professor laughed at
- 14:59me. It was fine.
- 15:01It made me stick out, I think. So then I proceeded to forget
- 15:06everything that I'd planned to tell him and said.
- 15:08I found myself talking about the way I'd settled my life around
- 15:11God, the people and influences, my motivation, my actions, and
- 15:15my hobbies. This is something that I didn't
- 15:17even know I had done, and the more the conversation focused on
- 15:21the God in my life, the more alive the conversation felt.
- 15:24Even more so, he ended up telling me why he loved the
- 15:27Messiah, which further confirmed that this was the school where
- 15:29God wanted me. After this interview, I didn't.
- 15:32I realized that it didn't matter if I got in the scholarship and
- 15:35the spot in the program, God had already given me what I needed
- 15:38through the experience. Fast forward to Multicultural
- 15:41scholarship day, I walked in a lot, a lot less stressed and
- 15:45with a new found piece of knowledge that I merely had to
- 15:47write one more essay. So I really didn't expect that
- 15:50much. However, while quite literally
- 15:52sprinting after the guy to the essay room, I ended up hearing
- 15:56the name of the girl who had followed me on Zimi, which is a
- 15:58basically college Tinder app for finding a roommate.
- 16:02So I again, if you know me, I'm not the one to start up a random
- 16:06conversation with any random stranger, but some by some
- 16:10power, I got the courage to very awkwardly ask.
- 16:13OK, this is going to sound very weird, but is your last name
- 16:16Rodriguez? The girl said yes.
- 16:18I mean talking having a lot in common.
- 16:21Then our parents ended up being assigned to the same table for
- 16:23lunch. So to make a Long story short,
- 16:26that's How I Met my roommate. I ended up getting to both the
- 16:30honors and multicultural programs, but I knew that that
- 16:32was only because I gave the control to God.
- 16:35Nothing that I had planned or even imagined went to plan.
- 16:38By trusting what God was doing, I was able to see Him working in
- 16:41my life. Even if I even if I hadn't
- 16:43gotten to either program, I had learned to accept that this
- 16:46would be what God wanted for me and would bring the most glory
- 16:48to Him. The heading above the scripture
- 16:51that Tim read is titled The Believers Freedom.
- 16:54This freedom is the free will that God gives us to choose
- 16:56between His plan and our plans. This is freedom because we
- 17:00choose. When we choose Him to be the
- 17:02center, we are filled with unfathomable joy that cannot be
- 17:05replaced. Hebrews 12/1 to three says
- 17:09therefore we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses.
- 17:12Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so
- 17:15easily entangles, and let's run with the perseverance the race
- 17:19marked out for us. Fixing your eyes on Jesus, the
- 17:22pioneer and perfector of faith. For the joy set before Him, He
- 17:25endured the cross, scorning a chain, and sat down at the right
- 17:29hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such
- 17:32opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose
- 17:35heart. Matthew 1027 to 29 says are not
- 17:402 sparrows sold for a penny, yet not one of them will fall to the
- 17:44ground outside. Your Father's care and even the
- 17:47very hairs on your head are all numbered.
- 17:49So don't be afraid. You're worth more.
- 17:51You are worth more than many sparrows.
- 17:54Hebrews tells us to throw off what hinders us such as fear,
- 17:57worry, and control. In surrendering everything to
- 18:00God, we make everything. We make Him the center in all we
- 18:02do. This hope and trust is what
- 18:05leads to the joy of the Lord. This joy is almost indescribable
- 18:08because it makes every day while not making every day the best
- 18:12day. It allows us to see the good in
- 18:14every day. It fills you with the hope that
- 18:16carries through, carries you through because as Romans 828
- 18:20says, we know that in all things God works for the good of those
- 18:23who love them and have been called according to His purpose.
- 18:27Matthew reminds us of the care that we are in and encourages us
- 18:30and causes not to worry. If God cares so much for the
- 18:33small sparrows, how much more does He care for each of us?
- 18:37I think sometimes it's hard to hear God or see what His plan
- 18:40is. We feel lost or stuck in the
- 18:42monotonous routine of life. Or maybe it's making a decision
- 18:45and not knowing what God wants. For example, this summer I was
- 18:49trying to figure out where to work and I was torn between the
- 18:52summer camp I worked at last summer, which was a camp for
- 18:54kids with cancer and their siblings, and Delanco, a
- 18:57Christian summer camp that a lot of US youth attend.
- 19:00I didn't know how I was going to leave the kids I built such a
- 19:03strong connection with last summer, and either it would be
- 19:06an opportunity to show God's love to those who needed it
- 19:08most. On the other hand, Delanco would
- 19:11be an opportunity for me to grow in my own faith.
- 19:14Funny enough, God gave me the answer the same day that He
- 19:16confirmed my college decision. While I was waiting in line for
- 19:20lunch at the Honor Scholarship Day, someone, someone came up to
- 19:22me and said, hi, are you from Delanco?
- 19:25And I turned around and saw Katie Murphy, a girl who had
- 19:28been on summer staff at Delanco the previous year, and talked to
- 19:31me about Messiah. I mentioned that I was thinking
- 19:34about summer staff at Delanco and immediately she encouraged
- 19:37me to apply. I felt so loved and you know it
- 19:40was a sign that God wanted me at Delanco.
- 19:42Well, as per usual, God didn't stop there.
- 19:46Once I basically got basically gotten the job at Delanco for
- 19:49Jeremy telling me I basically had the job, I was asked to be a
- 19:53part time lifeguard. For those of you who know me, I
- 19:57can swim enough to save myself. I cannot swim to save someone
- 20:00else. I cannot swim the labs that are
- 20:03needed to pass lifeguard certification.
- 20:05I used to tell people that if you had me do laps, I would
- 20:08drown by lap 4. So apparently I can lift and run
- 20:12weight, run laps, but I can't swim.
- 20:15So kudos to anyone who can swim because I can.
- 20:19Anyways, I warned the hiring director that about this issue.
- 20:24Small issue of being a lifeguard and somehow I still agreed to
- 20:27try. So as you could probably assume,
- 20:30I freaked out not only about the prospects of drowning, but also
- 20:33doing so in front of the girl who would be my roommate at
- 20:35D'leco. Naturally, I began planning and
- 20:39even joined the free trial at the gym with a pool to practice
- 20:42swimming laps. Thankfully, God provided I and I
- 20:46ended up being told they hired another lifeguard and no longer
- 20:49needed me as a lifeguard. I remember talking to Jeremy
- 20:52about this and how I felt like I didn't follow through with God's
- 20:55plan because I've been so scared and worried about it, but he
- 20:58reminded me of the story of Isaac and Abraham.
- 21:02Although Abraham didn't like God's plan or agree with his
- 21:05plan, he still planned and prepared to carry out God's will
- 21:09and God delivered him. I'm not saying that everything
- 21:11will be perfect, but in listening to God, His Kingdom
- 21:14will be glorified. It's our job to remain faithful
- 21:17and willing, accepting whatever happens will be for good of the
- 21:20Kingdom and glorifying to God. Matthew 1019 to 20 Jesus tells
- 21:25the disciples, Anyone who loves their father or mother more than
- 21:28me is not worthy of me. Anyone who loves their son or
- 21:31daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
- 21:34Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not
- 21:37worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will
- 21:39lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
- 21:44These are part of the instructions given to the
- 21:46disciples before they went out on their journey.
- 21:49These instructions are not elaborate nor did they lay out
- 21:52to a perfect teeth. The only thing that the
- 21:55disciples needed to know was that their life could gain
- 21:57purpose by making everything they did point to God.
- 22:00The job is is to follow where God may call them, surrendering
- 22:04whatever their cross may be. So I must ask, what are you
- 22:07surrendering to God? Are you surrendering your
- 22:10career, your family, your relationships, or even more so
- 22:14with your identity For youth, What about school, both
- 22:17academically and socially? One of the biggest things I
- 22:20wrestled with was surrendering the legacy of how I would be
- 22:23remembered versus how God would be remembered through me.
- 22:26I'd gone to high school with the goal of being known without
- 22:30standing out too much. However, when I reflected on it
- 22:33earlier this year, I questioned if I'd actually done what God
- 22:35wanted because I had not been the most vocal about my faith.
- 22:38Not that I didn't talk about it or acted ashamed of it.
- 22:42Then while talking to my English teacher about the way I was
- 22:44perceived on the outside, she gave me the biggest compliment
- 22:47I've ever received. The first thing she told me,
- 22:49besides the fact that I was quiet and didn't talk in class,
- 22:52was that I had God like characteristics.
- 22:54Then when she described what she saw on a deeper level, she
- 22:57explained that I had something different about me and that I
- 22:59have something more meaningful and purposeful for having
- 23:01everything that I did. Now my English teacher grew up
- 23:04Catholic but never doesn't go to church anymore and doesn't
- 23:07believe, but yet she still saw this.
- 23:10I'm not bringing this up to try and brag, but to call attention
- 23:12to the way that we should strive to be seen.
- 23:14Showing God to others does not mean you need to have the
- 23:16loudest voice or the biggest ambitions.
- 23:19It can simply be the way you conduct yourself and by loving
- 23:22everyone around you. John 1335 says love one another
- 23:26as I have loved you, so you must love one another.
- 23:29By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love
- 23:32one another. Since I will be going off to
- 23:35college, I have hope for this church.
- 23:37I hope that when I come home with the churches in this
- 23:39building or somewhere else, their congregation will look
- 23:42different. I hope that we will grow towards
- 23:44Christ, showing more love and more compassion, more unity and
- 23:48more desire for what God has in store.
- 23:50Please join me in prayer. Dear God, thank you for
- 23:54gathering us here today and allowing me to share what you've
- 23:57done through my life. I pray for renewed desire for
- 24:01you and that this church will continue to make you the center
- 24:04of everything. I hope that we will continue to
- 24:06grow towards you and trust that your plan will provide all that
- 24:08we need. Please help us this week and
- 24:11anything that's getting to us. I was not to worry and to
- 24:14surrender all that we are and all that we do Amen.
