- 1:34- Welcome to the divine five one five podcast.
- 1:38- Here is today's prayer.
- 1:44- Hello, and welcome to divine five one five
- 1:47- daily prayers with Valerie Rocha.
- 1:50- Today's prayer topic is addressing when your mind
- 1:53- will slow down, how prayer gives it a
- 1:56- place to rest.
- 1:57- Scripture text I'm coming from today is Isaiah
- 2:00- twenty six and three and says you will
- 2:02- keep
- 2:03- in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast.
- 2:08- Now we talked about in earlier episodes how
- 2:11- really the the the mind
- 2:14- is the thing that can really,
- 2:16- get cluttered and slow us down.
- 2:19- Why? Because
- 2:20- our minds are like miniature computers,
- 2:24- and they rarely ever take a break
- 2:26- between the notifications
- 2:28- and the deadlines and the family concerns and
- 2:30- the financial pressures and just life. Right? Just
- 2:34- just life.
- 2:36- Even
- 2:37- when our bodies stop moving, our thoughts keep
- 2:40- racing. And so
- 2:42- it can be hard
- 2:44- when our minds were never created to carry
- 2:46- constant pressure without returning to God. You know,
- 2:48- we were we were made and designed to
- 2:50- worship.
- 2:51- And when we keep everything inside,
- 2:54- anxiety begins replacing peace. Now
- 2:58- whether you're an introvert or an extrovert or
- 3:01- a combination of either one,
- 3:04- I can I can tell you from experience,
- 3:07- if you do not
- 3:09- find a healthy outlet,
- 3:13- you will find a negative one?
- 3:16- And so regardless of what it is, you
- 3:19- know,
- 3:20- you're either gonna
- 3:22- cuss it out, fight it out, drink it
- 3:24- out, drug it out, sex it out, all
- 3:27- of the above. I mean,
- 3:29- any number of of things
- 3:31- if you do not
- 3:33- learn to pray it out and read the
- 3:36- word it out.
- 3:38- The the the
- 3:40- the amazing thing about prayer is is that
- 3:43- prayer interrupts the cycle of anxiety.
- 3:47- I often,
- 3:49- liken it to, you know, it it'll just
- 3:53- kind
- 3:54- of put push the button on pause,
- 3:57- and,
- 3:58- it shifts our attention from everything demanding our
- 4:00- focus back to the one who deserves our
- 4:02- trust.
- 4:03- A good example of this is happened to
- 4:06- to me,
- 4:07- just a a few days ago where,
- 4:12- me and this other person were were having
- 4:13- a conversation, and we were trying to we
- 4:16- were working on a on a project together,
- 4:18- and we're and we were trying to come
- 4:21- to a solution. And the person began to
- 4:24- feel really, really overwhelmed and and and express
- 4:26- that. And my response to them is, you
- 4:29- know, let's pray about it. And I wasn't
- 4:31- gonna wait until
- 4:32- 05:00 or or whatever time. I'm like, no.
- 4:35- We're gonna pray about it right now. So
- 4:36- we took that project that we were having
- 4:39- some concerns about, and we laid it right
- 4:42- there on the throne. And and I prayed,
- 4:43- and and I asked God to to,
- 4:45- help us navigate through that. And,
- 4:49- he did that.
- 4:50- But the first thing that he he did
- 4:52- is,
- 4:53- he gave comfort and and healing and restoration
- 4:56- to the person's mind and heart. And even
- 4:58- when it comes to healing, you know, we
- 5:00- often think about healing as something that is
- 5:03- physical. Right? Or, you know,
- 5:06- that's healing us from cancer or God healed
- 5:08- us from death or whatnot. And he can
- 5:10- do all of those things. But
- 5:12- how often do we consider that God heals
- 5:15- us on a daily basis? Right? He heals
- 5:17- our emotions because our hearts get broken.
- 5:20- He
- 5:21- provides the the strategies and the solutions
- 5:24- that we need,
- 5:25- and anxiety dealing with anxiety is a perfect
- 5:28- example of that. And so
- 5:31- prayer is,
- 5:32- you know, it's it's our it's our weapon,
- 5:34- if you will. And,
- 5:36- when we use it properly,
- 5:38- it will cultivate peace, and and it will
- 5:41- cause the peace to to be more consistent.
- 5:45- And anytime we have more consistent prayer, we
- 5:48- are being intentional and we are
- 5:52- enriching our relationship
- 5:54- with God.
- 5:56- So
- 5:57- now that we've addressed all of those components,
- 6:00- we're gonna take
- 6:02- this
- 6:03- concern, whatever the concern is,
- 6:06- to the throne.
- 6:08- Heavenly father, quiet the thoughts that keep pulling
- 6:10- us away from your peace.
- 6:13- Help us release every anxious thought into your
- 6:15- hands and teach us to trust you with
- 6:17- what we cannot control.
- 6:20- Guard our heart and our mind today and
- 6:22- let your presence become the peace where our
- 6:24- soul finds rest. In Jesus' name, amen.
- 6:28- Now,
- 6:30- to continue strengthening your prayer life through practical
- 6:33- biblical teachings,
- 6:34- I would encourage you to visit themind515.com
- 6:38- and to remember
- 6:39- to keep meaning God at the throne.
