- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning. Welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:02Speaker 2: It's Car Talking with the Dunge's Toyota Peepsy and we've
- 0:06Speaker 2: got Jason with us here today.
- 0:07Speaker 1: How you doing here?
- 0:08Speaker 3: Good morning, How you doing Tom? And I brought one
- 0:11Speaker 3: of my favorite associates, Kobe Brinkman.
- 0:13Speaker 1: No stranger to the party.
- 0:15Speaker 4: No stranger to the station.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:19Speaker 3: So yeah, we're going to talk a little bit about
- 0:22Speaker 3: cars and car stuff, and you know, first we're going
- 0:25Speaker 3: to talk a little bit about the weather.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Kobe was just mentioning it's going to get cold. Tom.
- 0:30Speaker 5: Well, yeah, you know when it gets cold like that,
- 0:35Speaker 5: you know, it's a good thing to make sure that
- 0:37Speaker 5: every component of your car is ready for the weather.
- 0:41Speaker 3: And it'd be a good idea today to either drop
- 0:46Speaker 3: by or make an appointment with Dungeons Toyota and you know,
- 0:48Speaker 3: get some service done on your vehicle. Drop by, we'll
- 0:52Speaker 3: check your check your fluids, which is very very important
- 0:55Speaker 3: when it gets cold, and also make sure that your
- 0:59Speaker 3: tires have the correct amount of pressure because as as
- 1:03Speaker 3: it chills, those tires tend to flatten out. So Dungeons
- 1:07Speaker 3: Toyota you can make an appointment online at Dungeonstoyota dot
- 1:10Speaker 3: com or just drop by and see us.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Goodness, thanks, you got to get that furnace, Worgan.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Definitely.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I think I've got to go and see if mine
- 1:20Speaker 3: still cranks up at the house. Yeah, he's speaking of
- 1:24Speaker 3: the house. You know, it's kind of a big day
- 1:25Speaker 3: for the Brimer family. We've gone like about eight weeks
- 1:30Speaker 3: without an oven. My oven just conked out on us.
- 1:35Speaker 3: And it's a seventeen year old oven. I've been frankensteining
- 1:39Speaker 3: it for the last ten years, putting in new boards
- 1:42Speaker 3: and new thermostats, and I finally I finally pulled the
- 1:48Speaker 3: trigger on an oven about six weeks ago.
- 1:51Speaker 4: And you know, it was an experience. It's kind of
- 1:54Speaker 4: like buying a car.
- 1:57Speaker 3: My wife and I we kicked the tires on bunch
- 2:00Speaker 3: of ovens.
- 2:00Speaker 4: We finally found the one that we really liked.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Uh, and the salesman said, great, Uh, order it now
- 2:09Speaker 3: and it'll be in in about six weeks.
- 2:11Speaker 4: And sure enough. So how do you see that? Oh, snowflakes?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:20Speaker 3: Anyway, but very very very much like you know some
- 2:25Speaker 3: of our customers who zero win on a Toyota and
- 2:29Speaker 3: then it takes them, you know, a few weeks to
- 2:31Speaker 3: get the car that they want, and uh Kobie had
- 2:35Speaker 3: the opportunity just a couple of weeks ago to uh
- 2:39Speaker 3: go to San Antonio and see how the whole process happens.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Totally kind of eye opening, wasn't it.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Yeah, it was one of the neatest things I've ever done.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Really.
- 2:50Speaker 7: Yeah, I've been so I've I've I've spent a lot
- 2:53Speaker 7: of time in a lot of big facilities.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I was.
- 2:56Speaker 7: I was a big bus rep for school district for
- 2:59Speaker 7: about for school across the America for about two years.
- 3:01Speaker 7: So I visited big bus plants and obviously the Walmart distribution.
- 3:06Speaker 7: I've been in a big Google plant, and then I've
- 3:08Speaker 7: been in a couple of Stilantises, been in a FOURDA Chebvy.
- 3:12Speaker 7: And that that Toyota plant where every Toyota Tundra, every
- 3:16Speaker 7: Toyota Sequoia one percent built in San Antonio, Texas.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Wow.
- 3:21Speaker 7: Yeah, that that's like a college campus down there. So
- 3:23Speaker 7: there's twenty six buildings on that site and only two
- 3:26Speaker 7: of them Toyota actually owned everything else. The other twenty
- 3:29Speaker 7: four are all Toyota suppliers. And that that facility has
- 3:33Speaker 7: ran so meticulously and so just on time that it was.
- 3:40Speaker 7: It was pretty shocking at just the uh, not only
- 3:44Speaker 7: the technology. There's robots and there's there's there's there's humanless
- 3:48Speaker 7: carts that deliver parts to the certain bays and stuff.
- 3:50Speaker 6: But it's just yeah, it was.
- 3:52Speaker 7: We were the first ones this year to get a
- 3:55Speaker 7: tour of the quality control building and I mean down
- 3:59Speaker 7: to the I don't even I can't even give you
- 4:01Speaker 7: a measurement that I want to give you.
- 4:03Speaker 6: That that they make sure that that that the.
- 4:05Speaker 7: Door jams are right on all four doors, and they
- 4:08Speaker 7: make sure the hood is I mean down to you know,
- 4:12Speaker 7: a micron micron of of where they're little testing little
- 4:16Speaker 7: placards fit through the seams and everything.
- 4:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I was, it was. It was absolutely amazing. I was.
- 4:22Speaker 7: I was a little like whoa, I mean, I I
- 4:24Speaker 7: want to sell toyotas. That's obviously why I work for
- 4:26Speaker 7: Brad But I even more now know that how well
- 4:30Speaker 7: our vehicles are built.
- 4:32Speaker 3: So when they when they did you see them actually
- 4:34Speaker 3: stamping the bodies.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Yes, tell us about that.
- 4:38Speaker 6: So they so they would.
- 4:42Speaker 7: They would have a frame upside down up in the
- 4:45Speaker 7: air right, and that would put fuel tank some of
- 4:50Speaker 7: the other underbody components, skid plates, things like that, and
- 4:53Speaker 7: then they would then that. Then then a robot, huge robot,
- 4:57Speaker 7: they called it Goliath. I mean it was that thing
- 4:59Speaker 7: was monstrous. It would turn it back over, set the
- 5:04Speaker 7: frame down, the body would come out and there's four
- 5:07Speaker 7: like Dracula fangs, two on the front frame, two on
- 5:11Speaker 7: the back frame. That would stamp that down, so they
- 5:15Speaker 7: know that it sits perfectly. And then they're still going
- 5:18Speaker 7: around measuring that after this machine that doesn't makes very
- 5:22Speaker 7: few mistakes, they check all that and yeah, we we we,
- 5:25Speaker 7: I mean obviously the the actual tour was like two hours,
- 5:29Speaker 7: so there's there's a lot of scene in two hours.
- 5:31Speaker 7: We were on carts, we weren't walking. We were on
- 5:33Speaker 7: like a little tram.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Probably they really good for your safety of there.
- 5:37Speaker 7: We were on a tram that they we have a
- 5:41Speaker 7: you had a like a like a tour guy. But
- 5:42Speaker 7: obviously she works there too, so I mean, very very knowledgeable.
- 5:45Speaker 7: And yeah, we saw, we saw everything. And then when
- 5:48Speaker 7: when when they finally come off off the line, you
- 5:51Speaker 7: hear two honks of a horn and they have the
- 5:55Speaker 7: brightest luminary lights that I've ever seen in a building
- 6:00Speaker 7: that are checking any imperfections on that paint. And the
- 6:05Speaker 7: other thing that that I think separates Toyota from other
- 6:08Speaker 7: brands that I've sold is that at every station there's
- 6:12Speaker 7: a rope that comes down like from there what they
- 6:15Speaker 7: call their ceilings. Some of them may just be a ceilings,
- 6:18Speaker 7: you know, three stories high, and they have you know,
- 6:20Speaker 7: overages or whatever. At any time, if any employee on
- 6:24Speaker 7: any of the lines something is coming through where it's
- 6:27Speaker 7: a pattern where they don't like what's happening, they pull that.
- 6:30Speaker 7: The whole building shuts down until they fix that. That
- 6:32Speaker 7: that one area, the end bond cord there you go, yeah, yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 7: it's absolutely amazing, and that and that that that so
- 6:40Speaker 7: that that was only that I was there three days.
- 6:44Speaker 7: The first night was a Usually you go to those
- 6:47Speaker 7: and one of the big wig gets up and talks,
- 6:50Speaker 7: you listen, have some dinner, and everyone goes their separate ways.
- 6:55Speaker 7: The president of t M n A, which is the
- 6:59Speaker 7: text division that builds up that plant, the president of
- 7:02Speaker 7: that plant was there. The vice president of operations for
- 7:06Speaker 7: Toyota North America was there. And then there was one
- 7:10Speaker 7: other gentleman that I'll be honest with you, I cannot
- 7:12Speaker 7: remember his name, and I should because he was a
- 7:14Speaker 7: husker like me. So him and I got to spend
- 7:17Speaker 7: some time with a pretty pretty high ups in Toyota.
- 7:20Speaker 7: And there was a Q and A that was supposed
- 7:22Speaker 7: to end. I think dinner was at six. Q and
- 7:23Speaker 7: A was supposed to end it eight. They stayed and
- 7:26Speaker 7: took questions from all of us one hundred and thirteen
- 7:30Speaker 7: salesman sales managers across golf golf States Toyota until nine
- 7:35Speaker 7: forty five.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:36Speaker 6: Yeah, they were very engaged.
- 7:38Speaker 7: They asked about they let us ask questions and just
- 7:42Speaker 7: it was more of a hey, why aren't you doing this?
- 7:43Speaker 6: Why don't you do this?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Why?
- 7:45Speaker 6: And they were very they were very open, candid, honest.
- 7:48Speaker 4: It was.
- 7:49Speaker 7: It was a great experience. So that was the first evening.
- 7:52Speaker 7: The second day was was the plant tour, and then
- 7:58Speaker 7: the second half of the plant tour was a training
- 8:02Speaker 7: on It was a training classroom setting where we were
- 8:07Speaker 7: split up into groups of fours and it turned into
- 8:10Speaker 7: just be how to help our buyer be more educated
- 8:13Speaker 7: on what they're buying even if they're not looking at
- 8:17Speaker 7: a Toyota. Why are you going down the road?
- 8:20Speaker 6: What can I help? How many questions.
- 8:22Speaker 7: And I mean you're talking about you're talking about guys
- 8:24Speaker 7: that have been in the business. I've been doing this
- 8:25Speaker 7: twenty two years. You're talking about guys. One guy had
- 8:27Speaker 7: been selling it. He's been selling cars fifty years. So
- 8:30Speaker 7: obviously the technology the way cars are sold compared to
- 8:33Speaker 7: fifty years.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Ago, Well, it's night and day.
- 8:35Speaker 7: It's night and day because eighty percent of your shoppers
- 8:38Speaker 7: now have already looked online and they kind of have
- 8:42Speaker 7: an idea of what they want. So then our job
- 8:44Speaker 7: is to make sure and answer any questions. And two
- 8:47Speaker 7: of the biggest takeaways that I took is that there's
- 8:50Speaker 7: a misconception because our trucks say Toyota on them, that
- 8:53Speaker 7: you're not going to buy that to toe something couldn't
- 8:56Speaker 7: be farther from the truth.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Oh, I've seen him in action.
- 8:58Speaker 7: Are our half ton tundra will will tow upwards of
- 9:02Speaker 7: eleven thousand pounds and now still gets you while towing
- 9:08Speaker 7: fifteen sixteen, seventeen miles to the gallon and on the highway unloaded,
- 9:11Speaker 7: taking a trip to Golf Shores, Alabama, You're gonna get
- 9:13Speaker 7: twenty five miles to Gallon. That's pretty impressive for u Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 7: they're they're they're there's not a better it's not a
- 9:21Speaker 7: better half ton for for the value for the money
- 9:24Speaker 7: for what you get, there's not a there's not a
- 9:25Speaker 7: better value on the market than a Toyota Tundra.
- 9:28Speaker 4: And they hold their value.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Yeah, that's that's that's the big kicker. When when when
- 9:33Speaker 7: you see other brands that go give all these huge discounts.
- 9:37Speaker 7: When when when when you're selling a new truck and
- 9:39Speaker 7: you're giving ten or eleven thousand dollars discount on a
- 9:42Speaker 7: new truck, you know what that's doing to your resale
- 9:44Speaker 7: value three years down the road. And what's that doing
- 9:46Speaker 7: to the used car market When they can sell new
- 9:48Speaker 7: ones that cheap, they their their pre owned stuff just
- 9:53Speaker 7: drops out the roof. That's why Toyotas just has such
- 9:55Speaker 7: a good metric on on on on what what what
- 9:57Speaker 7: a fair discount, what a fair price should be on
- 9:59Speaker 7: a truck. And then on the other end, they if
- 10:02Speaker 7: you want to get out of your vehicle in three
- 10:03Speaker 7: or four years, they want to make sure that you're
- 10:05Speaker 7: not quote unquote the term of the term of the
- 10:07Speaker 7: day upside down and you haven't just lost all of
- 10:11Speaker 7: your money to drive a car for three years and
- 10:13Speaker 7: don't have anywhere to go to. Toyota does not do
- 10:14Speaker 7: that to their customers.
- 10:16Speaker 1: That's great.
- 10:17Speaker 3: So I think one of the things you looked at
- 10:20Speaker 3: down in San Antonio was the I Force.
- 10:23Speaker 7: Than the Irish Irish sports but on the riverwalker dirty
- 10:27Speaker 7: Nellies shout out, you've been a dirty Nellies?
- 10:31Speaker 6: Is it a great irishman?
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yes?
- 10:34Speaker 6: Yes, Anyway, what was the question I got off there?
- 10:37Speaker 3: Tell us tell us a little bit about the river,
- 10:40Speaker 3: tell us a little bit about Uh, the I Force macks.
- 10:44Speaker 6: So the I force max our hybrid engine again.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Uh.
- 10:48Speaker 7: And this this goes across the industry, a lot of
- 10:51Speaker 7: misconception on what a what a hybrid vehicle does. And
- 10:54Speaker 7: people in the oil and gas industry obviously are our
- 10:57Speaker 7: town here. I think that that's taking taking money out
- 11:01Speaker 7: of the oil and gas industry and doing this could
- 11:03Speaker 7: not be further from the truth. A hybrid still has
- 11:07Speaker 7: a combustible engine, A hybrid still uses oil, So hybrid
- 11:10Speaker 7: still uses gas. It still it still helps feed people
- 11:13Speaker 7: that work for for petroleum based companies. The thing that
- 11:18Speaker 7: the hybrid does that a lot of people don't think
- 11:20Speaker 7: about when I'm driving a hybrid car, and that vehicle
- 11:23Speaker 7: is taking me down the road in hybrid mode. You
- 11:25Speaker 7: know what I'm not doing. I'm not using the combustible engine.
- 11:28Speaker 7: I'm not using any of those components. That's why that
- 11:31Speaker 7: those are going to last longer. Helps with your gas mileage,
- 11:35Speaker 7: wear and tear again on your combustible engine. And one
- 11:39Speaker 7: fun fact that I did not know that one of
- 11:40Speaker 7: the gentlemen that was down there that he sells or
- 11:44Speaker 7: is he at sam Marcos, Texas, did you know that
- 11:48Speaker 7: every locomotive that goes up and down these rails is
- 11:50Speaker 7: a hybrid.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I had no idea.
- 11:54Speaker 6: I thought he was lying. He made me.
- 11:56Speaker 7: We looked it up on Google. Locomotives are hybrid engines,
- 11:59Speaker 7: and I think about it. It's the best way to
- 12:01Speaker 7: have a hybrid engine because a hybrid engine. I'm the
- 12:04Speaker 7: hybrid battery. I apologize hybrid battery that regenerates by breaking right,
- 12:10Speaker 7: I step on the brake. Friction sends that power. But
- 12:13Speaker 7: when you're going up and down a railroad line, you
- 12:15Speaker 7: have a metal track and a metal wheel, it's all
- 12:18Speaker 7: that friction is going back to helping run that locomotive.
- 12:20Speaker 7: So so the point of that being is that if
- 12:23Speaker 7: these multi billion dollar companies that run these monster locomotives
- 12:28Speaker 7: up and down these roads, I mean up and down
- 12:30Speaker 7: these rails are going to trust a hybrid, then kind
- 12:33Speaker 7: of an open mind, you know what I mean, would
- 12:35Speaker 7: would would would, which would lead you the way to
- 12:38Speaker 7: know that the hybrid is getting getting ready to be
- 12:40Speaker 7: the best way to buy a vehicle across.
- 12:42Speaker 1: And on top of that, they're hauling things.
- 12:45Speaker 7: Oh my goodness, yeah, are definitely yeah, and and and
- 12:49Speaker 7: so then the third day was ride and drive. Uh
- 12:52Speaker 7: So we went out to a out in the Texas
- 12:55Speaker 7: hill country.
- 12:57Speaker 6: Unfortunately sad sad spot.
- 12:59Speaker 7: Some of it where we were supposed to be had
- 13:01Speaker 7: been in the floods yea, and it was they couldn't
- 13:04Speaker 7: even get.
- 13:04Speaker 6: It set up.
- 13:04Speaker 7: But we still so some of it not as much
- 13:09Speaker 7: as like you would have done, like if you were
- 13:10Speaker 7: in a four runner or a land Cruiser or something
- 13:12Speaker 7: like that, but more just uphill towing, the slow crawl
- 13:17Speaker 7: that you have in a tundra and then just the.
- 13:21Speaker 6: Just the amount of power.
- 13:22Speaker 7: I mean, we buried Toyota tundras up to the up
- 13:25Speaker 7: to the door jams in mud and still kept going away.
- 13:29Speaker 7: We went Yeah, yeah, very very, very impressive, and I
- 13:34Speaker 7: could spend I could spend three hours going over everything
- 13:37Speaker 7: that we offer now in a Toyota Tundra, as far
- 13:39Speaker 7: as not the amount of weight you can tow, because
- 13:44Speaker 7: to me that that gets insignificant once you get upwards
- 13:47Speaker 7: of ten or eleven thousand pounds. Anybody who's going more
- 13:49Speaker 7: than that, you're going to buy a heavy duty, right
- 13:52Speaker 7: Timmy and I have a twenty three foot boat I
- 13:53Speaker 7: think weighs thirty five hundred pounds. So, in all honesty,
- 13:57Speaker 7: when I tell you that a Tundra can tow eleven
- 13:58Speaker 7: thousand pounds, I could hook a thirty foot boat up
- 14:01Speaker 7: to the back of my a Tundra and go down
- 14:04Speaker 7: the road. But there's there's just so many benefits that
- 14:09Speaker 7: For instance, I have a boat, if you know, I
- 14:13Speaker 7: think about my my oldest daughter every once in a while.
- 14:16Speaker 6: We're toy and horse trailers.
- 14:17Speaker 7: Oh yeah, bumper pool flat beds, utility trailers. And then
- 14:24Speaker 7: I have a car haul or trailer. With our Toyota Tondras.
- 14:28Speaker 7: You can go in there and if I hook up
- 14:30Speaker 7: my boat and in position one in my little driver
- 14:34Speaker 7: information screen, it knows where to set the trailer brakes.
- 14:37Speaker 7: The next time I hook up my three horse trailer
- 14:39Speaker 7: and go to the go to the Bartlesol Round Up
- 14:41Speaker 7: Club rodeo, I hit I already have in pre set.
- 14:44Speaker 7: It changes the trailer brakes for you.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Wow. Talk about a smart vehicle.
- 14:50Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, and and and then little things like you know,
- 14:53Speaker 7: and and again a lot of other manufacturers have this,
- 14:56Speaker 7: they don't have what we have. Hitch placement. That camera now,
- 15:00Speaker 7: like if you're by yourself that camera now, I mean
- 15:03Speaker 7: when you're backing up and look at that camera, I mean,
- 15:05Speaker 7: you will get this this. I mean it will put
- 15:08Speaker 7: you that that far off. I'm talking you can't hardly
- 15:11Speaker 7: see between my fingers to where you're just going to
- 15:14Speaker 7: walk right back and drop your ball.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Wow.
- 15:16Speaker 6: Things like that.
- 15:17Speaker 7: When you hook up a trailer to our our tunges,
- 15:20Speaker 7: your side blind zone alert and your lane departure warning
- 15:24Speaker 7: automatically come on. And here's the thing too that I
- 15:27Speaker 7: don't think all of our competitors had this yet. I
- 15:29Speaker 7: didn't do my due diligence and check that the lane
- 15:32Speaker 7: departure warning and the side blind zone alert it then
- 15:35Speaker 7: knows to read off the back of the trailer, not
- 15:37Speaker 7: off the back of your truck.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Nice, it's a lot of computer power.
- 15:42Speaker 6: Yeah, it was pretty I mean it was pretty amazing.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Jason, you better call back and see if they've got
- 15:47Speaker 2: any more trucks left. I think he just sold them.
- 15:48Speaker 4: All right here. Well, you know, we are selling them all.
- 15:52Speaker 6: We are selling them and.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Right now we've got some pretty incredible deals on Tacomas
- 15:59Speaker 3: and on Tundras. You can lease a brand new Tundra
- 16:04Speaker 3: SR five four x two for four ninety nine a
- 16:08Speaker 3: month for thirty nine months. And what's what's more, on
- 16:13Speaker 3: the Tacoma side, you can lease a twenty twenty six
- 16:17Speaker 3: Tacoma to sixty nine a month. So leasing has become
- 16:25Speaker 3: very popular over the last couple of months as the
- 16:29Speaker 3: interest rates, you know, slowly come down. They're they're ticking
- 16:34Speaker 3: down a bit a bit. We've got some great rates
- 16:38Speaker 3: on Tundras right now. But the lease options, you know,
- 16:45Speaker 3: for example, you could get into a twenty twenty six
- 16:48Speaker 3: Corolla right now for as little as one hundred and
- 16:51Speaker 3: ninety nine a month if you are a city driver.
- 16:56Speaker 3: This is a real practical way to get into a
- 16:59Speaker 3: new car. Are keep your maintenance costs to almost zero,
- 17:05Speaker 3: and at the end of the term thirty nine months
- 17:09Speaker 3: from this interest instance, you have the option of buying
- 17:15Speaker 3: the car, of selling the car, or of trading it
- 17:21Speaker 3: back in.
- 17:23Speaker 6: Or you just simply walk away.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, you can do that, dude. Yeah wow, Yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 3: And I definitely a great option for people.
- 17:31Speaker 7: And I will say, obviously do this a long time
- 17:34Speaker 7: And Jason and I have had this conversation before. I've
- 17:36Speaker 7: got friends all over Tulsa, friends all over town that
- 17:39Speaker 7: I'm actually our finance director at the dealership. So I've
- 17:41Speaker 7: probably got ten of my buddies that I know very
- 17:44Speaker 7: well that are f and I directors. Whether good friend
- 17:46Speaker 7: of mine, Tony is the FNI director at Bill Camper
- 17:48Speaker 7: Sales now, but he has been in the business for
- 17:50Speaker 7: thirty years. Oklahom has never been a big lease state
- 17:54Speaker 7: that that that is not there's no secret there. It's
- 17:56Speaker 7: never been a big lease state. That's changing. And William
- 18:00Speaker 7: Dungeons I are both. I'm trying to get to an
- 18:03Speaker 7: actual Toyota Toyota leasing.
- 18:07Speaker 6: I want to go to a school school.
- 18:08Speaker 7: Yeah, because a lot of the deal with leasing, even
- 18:11Speaker 7: on my side for long time, is just being uneducated.
- 18:14Speaker 7: You just scared, you don't you don't know what you're doing,
- 18:17Speaker 7: and it is a great Again, leasing is not for everybody,
- 18:20Speaker 7: but again purchasing is not for everybody.
- 18:22Speaker 6: So it's when we do.
- 18:23Speaker 7: Our customer customer information sheet, do our interview, meet and greet,
- 18:28Speaker 7: and we find out what the customer's needs are. Hey,
- 18:30Speaker 7: how long are you going to keep the vehicle? I
- 18:32Speaker 7: just drive around in town. I know. We do have
- 18:35Speaker 7: the people that at thirty six months, whether they purchase
- 18:37Speaker 7: or lease, they want a new car every three years.
- 18:40Speaker 7: They're just those kind of people because the technology changes
- 18:42Speaker 7: so much, so there is a lot, there's a lot
- 18:46Speaker 7: that goes into leasing, but then there's not once you
- 18:49Speaker 7: do one or two and have a good experience. Even
- 18:53Speaker 7: on our bit on from the from the the leasing
- 18:55Speaker 7: manager standpoint, it is there. There is a there's definitely
- 18:59Speaker 7: a lease a least reason for almost every buyer out
- 19:05Speaker 7: there to at least let us give them side by side.
- 19:09Speaker 7: We like to give us side by side comparison. Here's
- 19:12Speaker 7: what your payments are going to look like at seventy
- 19:13Speaker 7: two months, like even on a tuna right now, Tunja
- 19:16Speaker 7: right now. And I'm going to go not against lesing,
- 19:19Speaker 7: but again, we always like to give everybody their options
- 19:21Speaker 7: I can tell you a brand new Tunge right now
- 19:23Speaker 7: for seventy two months, give you the discount, give you
- 19:25Speaker 7: another thousand dollars Toyota cash two point nine to nine
- 19:28Speaker 7: for seventy two months. Go to any hometown bank. You
- 19:31Speaker 7: can't touch that rate now. So we like to do
- 19:34Speaker 7: side by side. Here's your lease, here's this especially for
- 19:39Speaker 7: people who are like Jason said Tulsa bartlestools sum even too,
- 19:45Speaker 7: that mainly are going to use that as a grocery
- 19:47Speaker 7: getter and to get them back and forth to the store.
- 19:49Speaker 7: Right leasing is a great option. It gives you all
- 19:53Speaker 7: those opportunities at the end. And the good thing about
- 19:55Speaker 7: Lisa to Toyota, Toyotas hold their value better than any
- 19:59Speaker 7: any car on the market. So at the end of
- 20:01Speaker 7: three years, a lot of times, a lot of times,
- 20:04Speaker 7: your car is going to be worth more than what
- 20:08Speaker 7: we tell you it's most likely going to be worth
- 20:10Speaker 7: when you start your lease, because when you start your lease,
- 20:14Speaker 7: we give you residual value, and that gives you an
- 20:16Speaker 7: idea of how much you're going to pay over the
- 20:18Speaker 7: three years. And then if you want to buy that
- 20:20Speaker 7: car at the end, how much it would be. Well,
- 20:22Speaker 7: a lot of times that they come back in three
- 20:23Speaker 7: years in Toyota says, Okay, your residual value is twenty
- 20:26Speaker 7: two thousand. But I tell you, hey, this has done
- 20:29Speaker 7: just Toyota. We want your car because as a lease,
- 20:31Speaker 7: I know that it's been taken care of. I know
- 20:33Speaker 7: that you've came to me for service. That's the kind
- 20:36Speaker 7: of cars that I want to put into our pre
- 20:37Speaker 7: owned inventory.
- 20:39Speaker 6: We're going to give you more than what Toyota.
- 20:41Speaker 7: What if you just sold it back to them exactly?
- 20:44Speaker 4: God, yeah, yeah, it's very good.
- 20:47Speaker 7: There's a lot of different ways to make that work
- 20:50Speaker 7: and be advantageous to the customer.
- 20:53Speaker 6: It really is.
- 20:54Speaker 4: It makes a lot of sense for a lot of people.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Kobe, I got a question for you because I heard
- 20:57Speaker 2: this rumor that if you've got a Tundra and you
- 21:00Speaker 2: put two hundred thousand miles on it, that you just
- 21:03Speaker 2: basically just got it broken in.
- 21:05Speaker 7: I drive an O six Sequoya with two hundred and
- 21:07Speaker 7: sixty five thousand miles stilled right brand new. Huh Yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 7: I absolutely love it. Yes, yes, I mean we here,
- 21:13Speaker 7: here's a good story for you. We sold it's not
- 21:16Speaker 7: on the ground yet, but I sold an Everest Green
- 21:21Speaker 7: which is a new color evers green, absolutely amazing color
- 21:25Speaker 7: that that that we have out now in our in
- 21:28Speaker 7: our fore runners. I sold an everscreen four Runner TRD
- 21:32Speaker 7: off road premium to a customer walks in the door,
- 21:36Speaker 7: hands me a piece of paper from two thousand and one.
- 21:41Speaker 7: I was working at Dune just then from Rit Grossman,
- 21:44Speaker 7: who was a who was one of one of our
- 21:47Speaker 7: old old, old, old old school, old soul salesman that
- 21:50Speaker 7: had been there with the Dungeons family forever nine. He
- 21:53Speaker 7: bought a ninety nine for Runner and he's still he's
- 21:58Speaker 7: trading it back into us with two hundred and ninety
- 22:01Speaker 7: thousand miles on it, and no kidd, and I'm not
- 22:03Speaker 7: going to do a whole lot to it. I'm going
- 22:04Speaker 7: to put it down the lot and sell it.
- 22:05Speaker 1: My gosh.
- 22:06Speaker 8: Yeah. So when you say they retain, they retained Seriously.
- 22:12Speaker 8: When Toyota is obviously the tires and brakes are just that.
- 22:15Speaker 8: That's on your driving habits, right, change the oils, top
- 22:18Speaker 8: the fluids, and do your timing chain or timing here
- 22:21Speaker 8: every ninety year, one hundred and twenty thousand miles. That's
- 22:24Speaker 8: for the most part, it's all you have to do
- 22:26Speaker 8: in Toyota.
- 22:28Speaker 6: That's it in my opinion.
- 22:30Speaker 1: You take care yeap wow.
- 22:33Speaker 7: I do have one one more good tidbit about the Tundras.
- 22:36Speaker 7: If anybody out there's listen, I'm sure you may have heard, Jason,
- 22:39Speaker 7: because we went through it. We had a stop sale
- 22:42Speaker 7: on the on the hybrid motor, which everybody went up
- 22:46Speaker 7: into arms with and I don't want a hybrid and
- 22:48Speaker 7: I don't want that had nothing to do with the
- 22:50Speaker 7: hybrid component. When Toyota was drilling one of the oil
- 22:55Speaker 7: inserts from the side of the block. It happens, right,
- 22:58Speaker 7: people make mistakes. They used so say you're using an
- 23:02Speaker 7: eleven thirty seconds, They used a twelve twelve thirty seconds, right,
- 23:07Speaker 7: just a touch bigger, got the metal shavings, just a
- 23:10Speaker 7: touch bigger, and they clogged up the oil screen.
- 23:15Speaker 6: Those engines went could put.
- 23:17Speaker 4: So did Toyota wait until they were out there?
- 23:22Speaker 7: You know I'm getting there. I worked for another manufacturer,
- 23:26Speaker 7: doesn't matter the dealer. I work for another manufacturer where
- 23:29Speaker 7: noisy lifters were a thing with a certain manufacturer for
- 23:33Speaker 7: six or seven years, right, familiar, right that manufacture. All
- 23:38Speaker 7: they did was okay, I bring you my chuck it's
- 23:40Speaker 7: got noisy lifters. They would just go in and see
- 23:44Speaker 7: what bank the lifters were and just replace that bank.
- 23:48Speaker 7: When Toyota knew they had this problem, they stopped sail
- 23:52Speaker 7: on every single tundra that they deem from this ve
- 23:57Speaker 7: vend number, this ven number could possibly have that problem,
- 24:01Speaker 7: replaced engines, totally, plug and play, pulled engines and put
- 24:05Speaker 7: brand new engines in there with the correct drill drill
- 24:08Speaker 7: with of that of that oil oil fill hole. Wow
- 24:13Speaker 7: that they in When we were down there, my trainers,
- 24:18Speaker 7: nor the head of TM and A, he couldn't think
- 24:20Speaker 7: of a truck that they actually had even had anybody
- 24:23Speaker 7: come back after five thousand miles and say, hey, I'm
- 24:25Speaker 7: having this problem. So that's how quick they caught it.
- 24:29Speaker 7: Ninety percent of the trucks they fixed most likely would
- 24:32Speaker 7: have never had that problem. And Toyotas still spent the money,
- 24:36Speaker 7: pulled the motors and and yeah, there was no like,
- 24:39Speaker 7: well let's just tweak this. They literally just did a
- 24:41Speaker 7: Q and a testing, trial and error and got the
- 24:46Speaker 7: right drill hole in there and put brand new engines
- 24:49Speaker 7: in all those trucks. So that that's what company we
- 24:51Speaker 7: worked for, and that's and that's what kind of vehicle
- 24:53Speaker 7: you drive up and down the road when you buy
- 24:54Speaker 7: a Toyota.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Wow, you don't play that anymore.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Total quality, Yeah no, And this is really what Toyota
- 25:02Speaker 3: is known for is continuous improvement u kaison and producing
- 25:07Speaker 3: quality product.
- 25:09Speaker 1: That speaks right.
- 25:10Speaker 7: So, and I mean, let's be honest. I mean, obviously
- 25:12Speaker 7: we you know. Part of the reason that that that
- 25:16Speaker 7: I work at a toilet dealership, and I'm speaking for Brad,
- 25:19Speaker 7: but part of the reason that that he owns a
- 25:21Speaker 7: Toyota dealership, the oldest and smallest in the state of Oklahoma.
- 25:24Speaker 7: People don't know that is customer retention. Most Toyota buyers
- 25:30Speaker 7: are not going to come back and flip unless for
- 25:33Speaker 7: some reason, again, you have your one offs, right, you
- 25:35Speaker 7: had a bad salesman at a dealership, or you just
- 25:37Speaker 7: you just bought a car and for some rey you
- 25:39Speaker 7: just didn't like it. But if Toyota buyers buy a car,
- 25:43Speaker 7: they have a good relationship with their dealer, they have it,
- 25:45Speaker 7: they have a they have a good experience when purchasing
- 25:47Speaker 7: the vehicle and coming back for service, and they like
- 25:49Speaker 7: the vehicle. They're not coming out of a Toyota now
- 25:52Speaker 7: Our customer retention is second to none when it comes
- 25:54Speaker 7: to that.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Wow.
- 25:57Speaker 4: So so could be where can they find you?
- 26:00Speaker 6: Where can I find me?
- 26:01Speaker 4: Where? Where can the people find you?
- 26:03Speaker 7: You're at nineteen eleven Southeast Washington Boulevard, right across the
- 26:07Speaker 7: street from eh My Way.
- 26:09Speaker 6: I love their Mexicano. Hey, we are there.
- 26:11Speaker 7: We did just go to winter hours. I like to
- 26:14Speaker 7: tell everybody in the car business we work bankers hours.
- 26:17Speaker 7: That doesn't mean we won't say till ten o'clock at night,
- 26:19Speaker 7: because I was there Tuesday night till ten o'clock. But
- 26:22Speaker 7: we are there eight thirty in the morning till six
- 26:24Speaker 7: pm during the week, and then we usually cut out
- 26:26Speaker 7: on Saturdays about five thirty.
- 26:28Speaker 1: OK.
- 26:29Speaker 3: And if you want to do all of your shopping online,
- 26:32Speaker 3: you can go to dungeons Toyota dot com. We've got

- 27:25Speaker 7: Here's my trade in, here's my ven number. When they
