- 1:21This is a role for Shoes Adventure that follows
- 1:23troublemakers Goody, Joey and Monty as they attempt to uncover
- 1:26what's really going on behind the scenes here at camp and
- 1:30playing these incredible characters.
- 1:32My jolly, joyful, jovial table of family members.
- 1:35Here we of course have my brother-in-law George.
- 1:38Hey, it's G Welcome. Hi, it's Goody.
- 1:43Yeah, George had to go. It's nice to be here.

- 2:19I know at this point that you can edit that stuff out.
- 2:21We would we have to keep it in now, Little Miss.
- 2:25And of course, Little Miss Maya. Sorry, Little Miss Miley used to
- 2:31be my like. Yeah, I.
- 2:33Was like smiley Miley anyways. Lame.
- 2:35Who is this Maya you speak of? It's literally Monty and I told
- 2:39you that last time, can you remember?
- 2:41Hey, cute little family stories about love aren't lame, OK?
- 2:45Miss Miley, that is excellent foreshadowing.
- 2:48I'm proud of you, Joey. Oh my, once more, you cannot
- 2:52canonically be here. I snuck it, I followed the
- 2:55little bad one. Oh yeah, my, he's a bad
- 2:59influence even on you. My oh God, he'll.
- 3:01Be better. I gave him a sandwich.
- 3:03OK, whatever you say, you 2 are terrible.
- 3:07And with that, it's time for a recap.
- 3:12Last time, our campers uncovered some big secrets around Camp
- 3:16Second Chance. They were the first campers of
- 3:18the year to experience the perplexing powers of the Lantern
- 3:21Path, and felt a strange sense of synchrony with the lanterns
- 3:25as their moods ebbed and flowed, causing them to glow brighter
- 3:28and the forest to seemingly warp around them.
- 3:31The lanterns were tattered and worn, some sporting graffiti for
- 3:35more than five years ago. They looked tired, overworked.
- 3:41Eventually Goody, Monty and Joey settled in for sleep, squished
- 3:44together in their tent, suspended above the ground in a
- 3:47web like hammock. The next day, back at camp,
- 3:50Monty confronted Lottie about her poor fashion choices and her
- 3:54suspicions proved useful. Lottie revealed A tragic forearm
- 3:58tattoo featuring Brock's name and attempted to bribe Monty
- 4:01into silence, but not before Monty spotted a fat wad of cash
- 4:05in Lottie's Fanny pack. In the rafters above, Goody
- 4:09stole as much bacon as they could possibly carry raw and
- 4:12cooked. When pressed about the lanterns,
- 4:15Lottie proved useless, insisting that she doesn't know what's up
- 4:18with those stupid lanterns. They're just special.
- 4:21Meanwhile, Joey spied on an equally clueless Brock at the
- 4:24beach, sleuthing around a storage shed and discovering
- 4:27boxes upon boxes of brand new camp equipment marked with post.
- 4:31Its featuring random names as the pieces began to click into
- 4:35place for this trio. Judd rolled up to the shed in
- 4:38his bobcat, attempting to confront Joey.
- 4:41In a heated exchange, Judd admitted to teaming up with
- 4:44Brock, attempting to make a quick buck by selling camp
- 4:47supplies on Facebook Marketplace.
- 4:49But while the adults were proving to be selfish and
- 4:52totally oblivious about the source of the Lantern's power,
- 4:55you know that there is more to discover about what's happening
- 4:58along the path. Why are the lanterns seeming to
- 5:01lash out? And can anything be done to give
- 5:03this camp a second chance of its own?
- 5:06Our story left off with explosives in the tailpipe of
- 5:09Judd's bobcat, an ignition rigged to spark and our trio
- 5:13scuttling towards the beach to avoid the consequences of their
- 5:16actions. Judd's bobcat has seen better
- 5:22days after its rear Fender practically exploded.
- 5:26The groundskeeper is in shock. Brock too stands slack jawed as
- 5:31he tries to process what just happened from the edge of the
- 5:34beach. Here's what the three of you see
- 5:36happen in quick succession. Judd dusts himself off and pass
- 5:42himself down as if making sure he still has all of his limbs.
- 5:47Smoke starts to billow out from underneath the bobcat.
- 5:50Your improvised explosive detonated and the damage seems
- 5:53far from over. You observe the spilled box of
- 5:56brand new lanterns sprawled across the sand near the bobcat.
- 6:00Brock quickly comes to his senses and begins looking around
- 6:03for the troublesome trio that was just arguing with Judd by
- 6:06the shed. What do you do?
- 6:09No, this is just like casino Night.
- 6:11I I, I had the best intentions to blow something up and then it
- 6:14went in a way that. Looking at the lanterns
- 6:17scattered doesn't not looking at Judd or any sort of human or
- 6:21bodily injury, but looking at the lanterns that are scattered.
- 6:24I think Joey has come to see the lanterns as the fix.
- 6:28Right. At first it was like something's
- 6:31up with the forest. I'll I'll try to talk to the
- 6:33forest spirits. Maybe, maybe they can help.
- 6:36We came back, we tried to talk to the camp counselors.
- 6:38I my like sole focus is it's just the lanterns.
- 6:41The lanterns are fucking doing it and I just forgetting that
- 6:44the lanterns were in the truck that we just exploded.
- 6:47Yeah, so before you guys shoved your improvised explosive in the
- 6:50tailpipe, one of the boxes fell off the truck and spilled out
- 6:54onto the sand. And that was a box full of
- 6:56fresh, shiny new paper lanterns. Yeah, just seeing that and
- 7:00having an explosion so near to it.
- 7:02It's casino night all over again.
- 7:04I'm going to ruin my one opportunity to change everything
- 7:07for good, no? Guys, we we got to.
- 7:09Get out of here with the lanterns.
- 7:11Joey, Joey, I agree. I have a plan.
- 7:14Goody. I'm going to need you to take
- 7:16your shoes off and I'm going to need you to go collect those
- 7:18lanterns. Weird first step of the plan.
- 7:20What shoes? Holds the foot up.
- 7:22Perfect as fast as you can. I run and I use my toe grip to
- 7:27pick up as many lanterns. We're going to double trouble
- 7:31this scale. OK, so do you think you're going
- 7:33to use running without shoes 2 and toe grip 3?
- 7:37If I can. Let's try.
- 7:38Let's start with running without shoes 2.
- 7:40I want to see a six. That's a 5, but I'm going to use
- 7:45an. I would like to help by
- 7:48strapping on Now Now Batty. These aren't shoes.
- 7:54These are rocket. Skates, Oh my God.
- 7:57And they're just, they're just long sparklers that will
- 8:00hopefully make him run a little bit.
- 8:01Faster once again can. Anyone check any of your bags?
- 8:04I swear this was part of the process.
- 8:06What did they send you through? Like a broken metal detector.
- 8:09Well, see, I got my fire extinguisher like from the
- 8:11cabin. So like, that's at least like
- 8:12one way they're trying to keep us safe.
- 8:14I'm like running on the shoreline and I look at Joey,
- 8:17I'm like, they're. Making me run on water.
- 8:20OK, sweet. So sort of while Brock and Judd
- 8:23are still in a bit of shock. Goody, do you think Batty, do
- 8:26you think you sort of like run around the perimeter to sneak a
- 8:29little bit? Yes, Right.
- 8:30OK, toe grip, Toe grip 3. I'd like to see an 8.
- 8:34What else would you have in your pockets?
- 8:36Fair. Raw bacon that is a 10.
- 8:40Well done. OK, you successfully.
- 8:43My toes, man. Gorilla Grip.
- 8:46How many lanterns do I get like one for?
- 8:48The whole box. Oh, way more than 10 lanterns.
- 8:51I think you're like scooping them up, you know, you're like
- 8:53using your hands and your toes to just get them all into the
- 8:56box as quickly as possible. Run over a fishing net and just
- 8:58start to like drag them behind you.
- 9:02OK, what do you want to do with this box of lanterns now that
- 9:04they're all collected in in one place?
- 9:07I'm feeling that there's something more coming from this
- 9:09explosion. And then it wasn't over.
- 9:11I think I'm just going to pick up the box and I'm going to try
- 9:14to go set it next to the shed without people noticing.
- 9:20Sort of out of sight, out of sight.
- 9:21Yeah, like kind of behind the back, behind a Bush or.
- 9:24Something like that. And then I'm going to blow on my
- 9:27sparklers to make sure that they're still going, and then
- 9:29I'm going to go. All right, all right, all right,
- 9:31all right, all right and. Dive into the water and keep my
- 9:34sparklers above the the water as I'm kicking and swimming really
- 9:38fast and I'm just going to pop up 3 inches from Joey.
- 9:40Say done. Oh, OK, OK, buddy.
- 9:44Wow, did you need anything else? No, I think you did what we
- 9:47needed to do. We saved, saved the lanterns.
- 9:49Those are good for later, but I don't think there's any point to
- 9:51stick around because obviously these guys aren't helping us.
- 9:54If I may be so bold, you know, my shaman would be so proud of
- 9:57me. You.
- 9:59They sent us here for a second chance, right?
- 10:02Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:02To like, learn something about ourselves or whatever and, like,
- 10:06become better. But they aren't giving
- 10:10themselves a second chance. You know what I'm saying?
- 10:14Like let's. Make them go down the Lantern
- 10:15path. Or wait, yes, I like that.
- 10:18Maybe we can rig it first is this.
- 10:20Is this the part where we humanized the villain?
- 10:22No, I'm not humanizing them. I'm more just like trying to
- 10:25portray why all of this is super hypocritical.
- 10:28Yeah, that's bad. Yeah, so I'm pretty sure that
- 10:31the Lanterns are just pissed at us.
- 10:33And like, who wouldn't be pissed if like you literally know and
- 10:36gave you a new outfit in like what, like 10 years?
- 10:39I'd be so upset if I was wearing the same T-shirt From like what?
- 10:42High school? Nope, I'm in high school from
- 10:45like what, my birth? It goes from high school to
- 10:49birth. Like if I was wearing the same
- 10:51onesie that I was born in, I came out fly, that would be so
- 10:54embarrassing. And I think these lanterns are
- 10:56embarrassed. And every time someone walks
- 10:58down the path, they're like, help us, you know what I mean?
- 11:01And then like, of course they'd be mad because they're just
- 11:03like, not getting their new digs like they're supposed to.
- 11:06Operation dressed in new lanterns.
- 11:08Yeah, I think we need to throw a party.
- 11:10I will say that my mom says that something's not worn in until
- 11:12it's five years old, so. Well, right.
- 11:14But these are like older than five years old.
- 11:16So like what's after? Worn in, worn out?
- 11:19That's bad. That's fair.
- 11:20And honestly and honestly, most of the stuff that I wear.
- 11:23Pretty worn out. Yeah, that's fair.
- 11:25But I have a stylist that I'm going to hook you up with after
- 11:28this. Oh, is that what?
- 11:29Is that what people keep saying when they when they say I need a
- 11:31glow up? Yeah, Oh my God.
- 11:33Can we do a makeover? After, after the after the big
- 11:36party party. Yeah, whatever.
- 11:37So I think well, goody, such a good job hiding those lanterns.
- 11:42They're going to come in huge. I just like have this tingly
- 11:45feeling that it's going to be like the best party I've ever
- 11:48thrown I'm. Like, kind of like splashing my
- 11:50face in and out of the water. I'm like, yeah, totally, yeah.
- 11:56Keep in mind that this morning at breakfast, something that
- 11:59Brock mentioned was tonight there will be a Lantern path
- 12:03luau, which is sort of the ceremony and celebration before
- 12:07everyone at camp. The rest of the campers are
- 12:09going to set foot on the Lantern path.
- 12:11So that's sort of the the camp itinerary for what's going to
- 12:14happen tonight. So since we already got a party,
- 12:17we going to throw a new party? Or are are you talking about
- 12:20making sure that party's good? I'm saying we need to elevate
- 12:24this party, and I think that means we have to actually be bad
- 12:28kids and like, go replace the lanterns before the party
- 12:33because how are they going to experience like a good time if
- 12:37they're just like getting yelled at by lanterns, You know what I
- 12:39mean? Oh, and I could.
- 12:40Double up the. Spider web and make sure there's
- 12:42more. Yeah, we could make it like a
- 12:44trampoline, like bounce house moment.
- 12:46Oh my God, I love those. We should be camp counselors.
- 12:48We. Should be no actually that
- 12:50sounds like my nightmare but I would love to sponsor YouTube
- 12:53being camp counselors. Monty that's that's an amazing
- 12:57idea to go replace the lanterns early.
- 12:59And knowing that Joey was wanting to literally just go
- 13:02grab lanterns and do that right now, he fully attributes that
- 13:05idea, even though it came temporally earlier and from his
- 13:08own brain. He fully and genuinely
- 13:10attributes it only to Monty in this moment.
- 13:13That's amazing. I I wish I would have thought of
- 13:15that do. You want me to steal the bobcat?
- 13:17We could get at least like 2 miles before it explodes.
- 13:19We just boats exhaust. Off I do have a fire
- 13:21extinguisher I. Could push it.
- 13:23It's billowing smoke. I'll also say at this point,
- 13:26Lottie has rejoined Brock on the beach.
- 13:29And so Lottie and Brock are sort of doing their best to quell
- 13:32some of the chaos by distracting the campers.
- 13:34They don't want to look like they're bad at their jobs,
- 13:36right? So they're sort of diverting the
- 13:38attention of the campers that were already on the beach
- 13:41filtering, you know, the the campers who are coming to show
- 13:43up for attendance. They're telling them that water
- 13:46sports are mandatory today instead of just a beach day.
- 13:48Get out on the water. They usher everybody toward the
- 13:51lake, and then they signal to Judd.
- 13:54They give him like a wink, wink, nudge, nudge, nod toward the
- 13:57front of camp, towards like where the the camp's guard house
- 14:01at the front gate might be. Judd decides to grab a
- 14:04wheelbarrow from the shed where the boxes were, and he starts
- 14:08shuttling what's left of the crates and boxes.
- 14:11No longer the paper lanterns which are hiding.
- 14:14He shuttles things like yard games and snorkeling equipment
- 14:18packed up in boxes towards that. Direction we have to get those
- 14:22yard games. We want to party.
- 14:23We there. There's no party without yard
- 14:25games. I wholeheartedly agree.
- 14:27And here's the thing, I think I might have been holding Brock
- 14:31and Lottie a little bit too hard against one.
- 14:32I mean, sorry, that came out really weird.
- 14:35I'm not holding against them, against one I.
- 14:37Already know that they bump elbows.
- 14:38Yeah, I know that now, but I think I might have been a little
- 14:40bit too hard on Brock specifically because look at
- 14:42them, they're doing a good job. Are they?
- 14:45It looks like they're trying to do a good job.
- 14:47And they're really trying. They just.
- 14:50Might be too young, dumb birds and loved.
- 14:51That's all I'm saying. Yeah, but they're also making
- 14:54money off of the things that would make this a lot better.
- 14:57We are in danger. I may have making money off I.
- 15:01May have forgotten about the child endangerment child.
- 15:04Endangerment. OK, so.
- 15:05That's why we chanted. Unfortunately, my friend, I
- 15:10think it might be time for me to evolve once more as the con man
- 15:14that I am. It's in my blood and I've I've
- 15:17superpowered charged myself several times already throughout
- 15:20this adventure, so I think I'm going to do it one more time.
- 15:22And everyone knows that any good con man is a master of disguise.
- 15:28What was that name on the Alex and Richard from Peoria?
- 15:34I can do both of them. Watch me.
- 15:36Hey, Monty. Yeah, I think it is time for a
- 15:39makeover. What's wrong I'm?
- 15:45Sorry that I do that when I'm excited.
- 15:48The lifeguard blows his whistle and sort of looks concerningly
- 15:51over at you guys. Oh.
- 15:54Just a nice little wave, like just a little, hey, I'll get
- 15:58here. Just having so much fun.
- 16:00Like kind of splashes the water. It's just like.
- 16:04She got. Chlorinated.
- 16:05I don't want to. Do she got?
- 16:07Stung by a jellyfish. We have to get her to first aid.
- 16:09Hey Joey will help me get. Her.
- 16:10Yes. Yeah.
- 16:11Yeah, I did. Yes, of course.
- 16:13I would love to. Careful.
- 16:14There you go. Lots of jellyfish.
- 16:16Time to go. Time to go.
- 16:18The lifeguard gestures to sort of towards the counselor cabin
- 16:21and says you know where you're going, First aid's that way, go
- 16:23see the nurse. Come on.
- 16:26Come on, Monty. Yeah, yeah, I.
- 16:27Don't think I can walk. You don't have to be doing it
- 16:32this real. Dragging her along the ground.
- 16:36Got to sell it. OK team, it is up to you to use
- 16:39what you know and the skills you have to breathe some hope back
- 16:42into this camp. So are we headed to First aid?
- 16:46Is it a? No, we're going to our cabin
- 16:48because I brought wigs. No, I'm going to save the stuff.
- 16:52Oh, OK. We can get there in time, so we.
- 16:54Just don't need a wake. I mean, can we get there faster?
- 16:56OK, we just got to do this all really fast.
- 16:59OK, this is. A wheelbarrow full of stuff.
- 17:00We can beat I'm. Realizing that I can't actually
- 17:02be two people. So I'll be Alex from Peoria.
- 17:04You'll be a rich Richard from Peoria.
- 17:06OK, Monty, whoever who is? Do you think Alex is such a
- 17:10unisex name? We don't even know what's male.
- 17:12Female. This is true.
- 17:13We could use A to our advantage. I'll be Peoria.
- 17:15OK, I'm caught up. You guys are.
- 17:17I thought you were saying you were gonna put a hit out on Alex
- 17:20and then. I'm gonna come them.
- 17:23And you're gonna pick up the deliveries?
- 17:25Yes. I'm caught up.
- 17:28OK, we have to do this fast. I think that the makeover is
- 17:31great and while you're doing that, I'm going to take my 150
- 17:34yard shoelace and I'm going to put.
- 17:36Do you have any tiny little explosives you could make for a
- 17:38little like? So many tiny little.
- 17:40Explosives like a. Like 150 to 300.
- 17:42Yeah, you know those little Papa things, not not the ones that
- 17:45you that make your butthole a little bit sent to my mom tells
- 17:48me about that. My mom told me about that.
- 17:50She told me that. They worked out the throne. 6
- 17:52glass of wine at night that she has to.
- 17:54Exactly. Yeah.
- 17:55Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 17:57It's good for a hub and the other one's good for something
- 17:59else. You won't tell me.
- 18:00I think I think this will be good for both the path and
- 18:04getting the products. I'm going to make a long
- 18:06shoelace with a bunch of fireworks on it.
- 18:08OK, roll for pyromates. Sure.
- 18:14Can I can I roll for explosive shoelace?
- 18:17As we're. Roll for anything.
- 18:18Back to. Do anything one damn.
- 18:24Never mind, that's a what? That's a one.
- 18:28I got a rock. Yeah, that's tough.
- 18:31I do believe you still have your bonus from.
- 18:34Oh yeah, I'm going to use my Caesar wrap.
- 18:36Talent show, OK. And.
- 18:39It's coming back up. I'm going to use my Caesar wrap
- 18:42from what feels like weeks ago and to eat that so that I could
- 18:48roll with advantage. Oh yeah, OK, let's see.
- 18:51Do anything one. Froze it out-of-the-box.
- 18:55I think it counts. It counts.
- 18:58OK, So what? Would you like this skill to be
- 19:00called? Dude I want to call it Caesar
- 19:03wrap now but just reference explosive shoelace.
- 19:09Incredible. OK, explosive shoelace too
- 19:11goody. What a feat.
- 19:13Really rolling for shoes there, aren't you?
- 19:15You've been rolling for shoes this whole game.
- 19:17You really took rolling for shoes seriously.
- 19:19Took this long for everyone. Pretty sure I made that joke
- 19:23like 3 weeks. Ago and that that's +2.
- 19:26Three weeks ago I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
- 19:29Yes, explosive shoes 2 since you leveled up do anything one and
- 19:32turned it into a new skill. Amazing.
- 19:34So yeah, I make a the whole thing every six inches is it's
- 19:39got a little explosive on it and then there's a little fuse all
- 19:43the way down the. Shoelace.
- 19:44Well, the shoelace itself might be a domino, just a domino
- 19:47effect. So where are you hunkered down
- 19:48where you're sort of having this craft time?
- 19:51I think I I have fully disassembled A bunk bed that is
- 19:56in the corner and it's a little Fort and I'm in there and I'm
- 19:59like, I'm like chanting March songs.
- 20:04Never. You're practicing, you're not
- 20:12Skills from the Anarchist Cookbook.
- 20:15Amazing. I think Monty does just a quick
- 20:17like. Joey, do you have anything like
- 20:19not? Porn.
- 20:22Why? I mean, I do have my sister's
- 20:25shirt that I accidentally brought.
- 20:27I didn't mean to. That's the only thing that I
- 20:29got. OK, we can work that.
- 20:31Put it on. This wig is going to go great
- 20:34with your complexion. It's got a little bang, a little
- 20:36shush. It's going to really like, tie
- 20:38it all together. OK, so we're going, although the
- 20:41name Alex is unisex. We're going drag.
- 20:44That's fan OK. My sisters used to love this.
- 20:46I get it because. You can show up versus Alex and
- 20:49then you can leave and you come. Back, Richard.
- 20:51Honestly, I enjoy it. Honestly, I enjoy it.
- 20:53I just it's there's something that my dad generationally put
- 20:57inside of me that just doesn't, it doesn't really accept this as
- 21:00like I think that I could enjoy for myself to look beautiful.
- 21:04You're gorgeous. You know I am fucking yeah.
- 21:07Yeah, I am. There's like a small montage of
- 21:09like me behind Joey. The Bear.
- 21:12Like brushing his curls, it's. The first time you've seen
- 21:16Joey's eyes smile. Every other photo there's one of
- 21:19like Batty helping really quick and a few explosions and you're
- 21:22shooing me. Away Alexa play popular from me
- 21:26which. Is.
- 21:27On Broadway. I am beautiful.
- 21:29You are just the way you are, with a wig and a different
- 21:33shirt. Just once you changed everything
- 21:3710 out of 10. All right, well, here we go.
- 21:39OK, what happens next? I I would like to use
- 21:42misdirection with the help of Monty and all the things that
- 21:45she's done for me to show up as Alex from Peoria.
- 21:51I really would love to get y'all games and the water games.
- 21:55It's a snorkeling equipment. I guess I just need we.
- 21:58Mostly just need the yard game. Is is is that going to Alex?
- 22:01Yeah. Hey, God, it's.
- 22:04Not it's not it's not it's. Not very full.
- 22:06I asked you. I have to just have a moment, he
- 22:09said. Is that going to Alex when I can
- 22:11feel Maya out of the corner of my go?
- 22:12Yeah. It has to it's.
- 22:14Funny it is. You want this to be funny or
- 22:18not? Full wig, full dress.
- 22:21Like reflect the. Sister's blouse on and and just
- 22:24fully having awakened a moment. Not sure if this is.
- 22:27What this is for? No.
- 22:28No, no, I am painfully aware. Goody just says.
- 22:32Do you have a? Do you have a comb?
- 22:33Yes, I have a comb. Can I have it?
- 22:35Do you want like a thick tongue or like a fine comb?
- 22:39Black fine tooth comb. Yep, here you go.
- 22:41I just glue it my upper lip for a mustache.
- 22:43OK goody. So I think this would be the
- 22:45best, if you could maybe go to the front gate and like, stop
- 22:48the actual Alex from coming in so that we can be our out, Yeah.
- 22:53You, you'll be. I'm Peoria.
- 22:55Yeah. Yeah.
- 22:57Yeah, yeah, yeah. Perfect.
- 22:58You go down to the gate. Avoid Judge at all costs.
- 23:00Don't let him see you. And then show up and make sure
- 23:03that you see whoever the strangers are.
- 23:06And I'm going to go. I, I, I I'm beautiful.
- 23:09I got this. Beautiful.
- 23:10I think if if I could put a little more shot a judge on the
- 23:13top of it is I would like to roll for imposter and call Judd
- 23:19and say that I'm Alex. I'm I'm I'm here.
- 23:22I'm I have a really bad cold. So I actually like can't speak
- 23:26to you in person. Super shy.
- 23:28I love you. I'm here.
- 23:30Shouldn't Joey do it because he's already in disguise for?
- 23:32It no, because then when Joey shows up looking like a lady, he
- 23:35doesn't have to pretend he's a lady, right?
- 23:38I want to say anything. I don't want to say anything at
- 23:40all. When do I use this?
- 23:42Holds up the lit shoelace. It's connected to fireworks.
- 23:44That's later. That's like Lantern time.
- 23:47OK, we don't have time. They're going to be showing we.
- 23:49Got to go now, so I would like to roll for imposter to give
- 23:53Judd a phone call. Lovett, I'm going to have you
- 23:56roll for Imposter. You have Imposter 2.
- 23:58I want to see a six. That is an 8, correct?
- 24:07OK, incredible. Bring them up.
- 24:09OK, so first she calls Patrice really quick and she's like,
- 24:12Patrice, I need you to Google this man.
- 24:15We don't. I don't have enough service to
- 24:17Google. So La La, La La.
- 24:18Gets his number anyways. Patrice, she she's got
- 24:21connections. I mean, are you certain you need
- 24:23number? Yes, I need the phone number.
- 24:24I need it now. Thank you be.
- 24:25Right back the number is. Can you can you patch me
- 24:30through? Yes.
- 24:31Perfect. Is is Patrice a secret operative
- 24:37or some sort of foreign agency? Oh, we don't ask questions.
- 24:41Hello. Hey, Judd.
- 24:44Judd. Oh, is this?
- 24:46This is Alex. I'm I'm almost here for my
- 24:49Facebook. Marketplace.
- 24:50I thought you were going to be a man.
- 24:52No, I get that a lot. Alex is actually like a unisex
- 24:55name. So what do you want?
- 24:58OK, sorry. It's me, Jon.
- 25:00Town's very sick. Maybe you're on vocal rest, but
- 25:02you're on vocal rest. You gotta be a vocal rest.
- 25:03Yeah, so. I'm here you.
- 25:06Gotta be a vocal rest. I, I have to be on vocal rest
- 25:09'cause I'm a star singer and so when I see you I won't be able
- 25:12to talk. You're American Idol.
- 25:14Are you close? I'm up at the guard house.
- 25:16Right. Yeah, I just.
- 25:16Got I just got died. On American Idol and so my voice
- 25:20is really sore. So I'm I'm at the gate and I'll
- 25:23just wave when you see me. OK, I'm here that.
- 25:26That they didn't have a season this year.
- 25:27Top talent, top talent. Top talent.
- 25:29Top talent. You you misspoke.
- 25:31Top talent. OK, I'll.
- 25:32See you I gotta cover Joey's. She, like, hangs up.
- 25:35OK, go, go. OK.
- 25:37You are you sort of like creeping on the guard house.
- 25:43It's me walking up. Wait, because I've obviously put
- 25:46heels on anyway. I mean.
- 25:49Obviously put heels on. You wear her heels.
- 25:54No, it's the Louboutins that got wet earlier.
- 25:56Yeah, yes, I am walking up to to where Judd has forcibly dropped
- 26:01the the boxes off at the gatehouse.
- 26:03OK. And I'm kind of walking up to
- 26:06the front gate or wherever they could would come in.
- 26:09Yeah, goody, I'm going to have you roll for running too, to see
- 26:12if you can beat the real Alex to the front of the property.
- 26:17OK, perfect. I'm looking for a 10.
- 26:23That's a 10. And then can I use experience
- 26:26points here? To level up a new skill, yes,
- 26:28you absolutely can't. I'm going to use two experience
- 26:31points to level up my running without shoes.
- 26:36Yep, you'll go from running without shoes 2 to something
- 26:39else 3. Related to having just.
- 26:42Yeah, something specific to what you're doing right now.
- 26:45What would be something new The. Term we used to use when we used
- 26:47to play a lot of battle Royale games when you'd be edging the
- 26:50circle of the map. Rotate rotating.
- 26:53Blanking it reminds me of. That yes.
- 26:55Rotate, rotate, rotate, rotate. I'm gonna go with rotating with
- 27:00shoes. With one shoe.
- 27:04And you'll have that at a scale level of three.
- 27:08OK, sweet. So goody.
- 27:09You successfully make it to the gate long before the real Alex
- 27:13shows up. How do you send him away?
- 27:15Because it is a man. I am fully method acting.
- 27:17I get to the gate booth. I'm imagining like a guard house
- 27:21like made of wood and I'm like sitting in there and I'm like
- 27:24smoking a pencil like a cigar. I've got my fake mustache on
- 27:27just waiting. And if they come up, I'm just
- 27:29going to be really like oblivious and ignore them.
- 27:31Hey, what do you need? Like trying to scare them away.
- 27:34Yeah, just yeah. Like you don't want to go in
- 27:36there you. Don't want to go in there?
- 27:37You don't. You're not supposed to be here.
- 27:39I think for some yard game someone would very easily lay
- 27:43down their fight and drive away. Yeah, and I think I pretend I'm
- 27:46like taking their license plate numbers.
- 27:48Oh shit, park Ranger style? Yeah, I think they're in in for
- 27:52more than they bargained for. For a Facebook marketplace pick
- 27:54up. You know how flaky people can
- 27:56be. This guy made it here and he's
- 27:58not motivated enough for yard games to stick around.
- 28:01Should I drop the price to buy $20?
- 28:03You know. Now just got a Menards on the
- 28:05way home. Right.
- 28:05Exactly. Yeah, Home Depot.
- 28:07Typical. OK, now that the real Alex is
- 28:10taking care of Monty and Joey, how do you orchestrate this
- 28:15scene as you see Judd step out from the booth, put his hands on
- 28:19his hips like a proud dad admiring his lawn, and looks
- 28:22down the driveway waiting for the real Alex to show up to
- 28:26collect these yard games? Well, Monty has prepared me to
- 28:29and and helped me to turn to the perfect impasta and I just got
- 28:34to know my lines, which is nothing.
- 28:36I'm on vocal rest. I will if anything I I practice
- 28:42that. You, you have to squeak and walk
- 28:45150 feet in heels. Unravel, unravel.
- 28:50That's the real test here. Yes.
- 28:52And I would like to, if it's not possible to with like the
- 28:56physical surroundings, like get out to the front gate and make
- 28:59it appear as if I'm coming in. I would like to look like I
- 29:02would like to walk up and look like I've been waiting, like he
- 29:05missed me on his way out. OK.
- 29:06I think the driveway sort of takes a bend, so you can walk up
- 29:10to a certain point and maybe make it seem like your car is
- 29:13parked just around the court, like, you know, the forest's
- 29:16edge. Cool.
- 29:17It wouldn't be that absurd, so. Awesome, and I would like to use
- 29:20misdirection to do that, with hopefully the help from Monty.
- 29:24Hey, yeah, who also slipped $40 into your pocket?
- 29:28That's oh, I I will need that for for the the current the
- 29:31money. Yeah, right.
- 29:32Don't. Say money for the just Hannah
- 29:33Twim and not. OK, I'm on vocal.
- 29:35Rest vocal. Rest vocal.
- 29:36Rest America Top You didn't say the top talent thing, did you?
- 29:39No, but you don't need to because you're on vocal.
- 29:40Rest So I had to lie about America.
- 29:43You're not. You're just didn't even have a
- 29:44season this year. I'll call back later and I'll
- 29:46correct. OK.
- 29:49Just when you walk, a little bit of sashay, a little bit of hip.
- 29:51I just got to know my character before I get it.
- 29:53Like no, I get it. I'm kind of method in that way.
- 29:55All right, got this. Judge like tapping his toe and
- 29:58looking at his watch. He's starting to think it's
- 29:59weird that he got a call a few minutes ago and someone's still
- 30:02not strolling up yet. It's it's my time to start Clip
- 30:06clip, clip. Clip, clip, clip.
- 30:10Alex, right? I hand out the $40.
- 30:18Judd takes it from you, counts it, and he says, I thought we
- 30:22agreed on 50. You know what, Little Miss?
- 30:30You're pretty sweet, I think. I think 40 will do it today.
- 30:35What do you say? I'm throwing a little.
- 30:38Anything extra? Oh gosh.
- 30:42Child endangerment Child endangerment Child endangerment
- 30:46this. Is giving Facebook Marketplace
- 30:48like to an unfortunate reality? Yeah.
- 30:50You're 10, you're $10 short. How are you going to make up for
- 30:53it, little Missy? I think I just break voice and I
- 30:58say. Hey, anything for a good time
- 31:01sweetheart. Like much lower and deeper.
- 31:04He shoves the box at you, kicks dirt your way and says get off
- 31:08my fucking property. Oh.
- 31:10I'm so glad I blew up this bobcat.
- 31:12Where's kind of guy? Where's kind of guy?
- 31:14OK, well I snatch up the art games and I go.
- 31:16You have misdirection 4. I want to see a 10.
- 31:19And you have +1 from Monty. Nice.
- 31:23That is going to be a 15. Damn.
- 31:28OK, a 15 is definitely going to do it.
- 31:30So you successfully sort of slink away with this box back
- 31:34into the forest. You're covered by the trees.
- 31:37You see Judd sort of walk away, go about his business, do
- 31:40whatever he's going to get up to for the rest of the day at camp.
- 31:43What do you guys do next? Hey guys.
- 31:46Oh sorry, I have the mustache on.
- 31:47Still, it's hard to be other people.
- 31:51I can't believe we pulled that off.
- 31:53I'm just so impressed with both of you.
- 31:55I, well, I mean, like I said, my sister sisters used to dress up
- 31:58all the time and I like to think that I'm an ally to the LGBTQIA.
- 32:02Plus, did you did you get the? We got the box, you got the
- 32:05goods, we got the yard games. This is going to be the best
- 32:07party ever. We have to get to the path.
- 32:09How do we get them to the yard without them knowing we took
- 32:12them? Well, I don't think that matters
- 32:14because we'll set them out and then when everyone shows up and
- 32:16just starts using them, they have no choice but to let us
- 32:18keep them. You know, like ask for
- 32:19forgiveness, not permission. Yeah, the.
- 32:21Yard games are like pizza. If it's there, you'll do it.
- 32:23Yeah. Hey you guys will set up the
- 32:25yard games and I'll go put raw bacon in all the camp counselors
- 32:28pockets. That that, that that will
- 32:30probably cause something, some sort of chaos, I imagine.
- 32:33We can also have like bacon as like a party favor.
- 32:36I guess I could cook the bacon. I buried it like 3 or 4 feet
- 32:40deep. I guess got a nice brine on.
- 32:43It's really Asian. Bacon's are dry.
- 32:47OK, so we have the lanterns, we have the yard games.
- 32:50We have the bacon. It's approximately noon.
- 32:53The Lantern Path Luau is supposed to be tonight on the
- 32:56other side of Lake Lumi. The lake at camp the other side
- 33:00of Lake Lumi. There's a little trail that goes
- 33:02around to it. You can't really see from where
- 33:06the kids are currently at the beach.
- 33:08There's sort of like an ebb and a flow to the shoreline.
- 33:11So the area where the luau is going to be over by the start of
- 33:14the Lantern path is pretty nice and secluded.
- 33:16So you could get over there and be up in that business near the
- 33:19start of the Lantern path and where the luau is supposed to
- 33:21take place, with a high likelihood of being unseen.
- 33:26Guys want to go and try to set up the the lanterns, Yeah.
- 33:29I, I, I, you know, the floor spirits didn't talk to me last
- 33:32time, but I think if we put new lanterns then maybe they'll
- 33:34speak to me this time. Should we put the the the yard
- 33:36games on the other side of the path?
- 33:39As like the final. Yeah, like make it an
- 33:42experience. Like the razzle dazzle?
- 33:43Pyrotechnics. Grand finale.
- 33:46I can help with that part. That's a nice idea.
- 33:48Yeah, it's like once I get to the campsite, they can play with
- 33:50them, but maybe the counselors won't know.
- 33:53Right. Yeah, that's sweet.
- 33:54Yeah, that's sweet. Yeah.
- 33:55I. Like it?
- 33:56Yeah, we'll give them something to arrive to.
- 33:58Let's give them a real second chance for.
- 34:00Real. Yeah.
- 34:02Let's head over there. I guess I I was going to say
- 34:05that Monty wanted to roll for Swoll to try to like carry both
- 34:08boxes. That's a great point.
- 34:10So you guys do still have to collect your other box, which is
- 34:13sort of caught up in the middle of where each and water sports
- 34:16time is happening. I think we'll have one more
- 34:18instance where you might have to use your skills to sneak or
- 34:21distract to get that second box. And then it sounds like we'll be
- 34:24off to the start of the Lantern path and the other side of the
- 34:26beach. So as a master of misdirection,
- 34:29I think I should take the lead here.
- 34:32But I would love some help from my buddy and good pal who's so
- 34:37good at puzzles because this one's a real nude look.
- 34:39I mean, yeah, I could. I could help you.
- 34:41What do you, what do you have like a jigsaw puzzle?
- 34:44Do you have like Tetris? I need you to look at everyone's
- 34:48kind of average line of sight and draw it out for me on this
- 34:51piece of paper, like as if they're security cameras and we
- 34:55need to not be in those lines of sight.
- 34:57What if they turn their heads? Like I said, average guess for
- 35:04me, OK. And.
- 35:06I'm going to scribble with puzzles to help Joey with his
- 35:12misdirection to show these little cones of like if you've
- 35:16ever played D&D, the range spell attack with with a window of
- 35:23opportunity there. So I'm going to do all of those.
- 35:25And every individual. And then I'm going to hand it to
- 35:27you and then wait, wait, look out in the crowd one more time.
- 35:30Scribble, scribble, rewrite, reshade.
- 35:32There you. Go.
- 35:33All right, Well. I love this plan of attack.
- 35:35OK let's see puzzles 2. I would I would like to see a.
- 35:38Six. That's a six and a four for a
- 35:4210. Nice thinking about leveling
- 35:45that up at all. I only have one XP.
- 35:47Hey you know what buddy? I'll give you one.
- 35:49Hey I'll mark an XP off for you cuz you deserve to level.
- 35:53Something up working on that one so.
- 35:55I love that. OK, what does puzzles 2 turn
- 35:58into at a third level in this instance?
- 36:02I think it turns into. Geometry.
- 36:06Laser maps. Oh laser like.
- 36:09Spy texts. I was thinking that this like to
- 36:13Joey, he's he's thinking like he's considering this like as if
- 36:16it's like a museum and there's and each one's vision is a.
- 36:19Little bit of lasers like and I'm I'm.
- 36:21Describing this to to goody almost like as like this again
- 36:25another story that my dad told me of the time that he heisted a
- 36:28museum and it was like some hoe dunk like like your.
- 36:32Dad is so cool. I know right?
- 36:34Like my mom always says, no, he's actually have a bad
- 36:36influence. But I love him.
- 36:37What can I do? He's the father of my children
- 36:40and it doesn't matter. That's stuff we get on back.
- 36:42Later people say that about my dad, and then I go, well, look
- 36:45at this list of charities that he hosts.
- 36:47You know what I mean? Really.
- 36:49That's cool, yeah, Yeah. But don't look too much further
- 36:51like where the money goes because I I don't really know.
- 36:55Oh yeah, Goody was talking to me about tax shelters earlier.
- 36:57Is that one of is that what you talk?
- 36:59Is that is that a thing? See, like I kind of like signed
- 37:01an NDA when I was like born. So it's tax havens.
- 37:04It's OK though. Oh, excuse.
- 37:05Me. Thanks Goody.
- 37:08So I like imagine that we're like on the wooded edge of the
- 37:12beach and we're like maybe behind the shed or something
- 37:14like where we're doing this whole thing.
- 37:15We've got like the one box next to us and like crouched down.
- 37:19Monty has taken the wig off of Joey's head and put it back in
- 37:22his wig bag because yeah, those not messing around, it's so hard
- 37:25to detangle them. Yeah, you can take the heels
- 37:27back. Thank you very much.
- 37:28That was an experience number one I want to do again.
- 37:30Are you gonna keep the blouse on?
- 37:32Yes, it's. Yeah.
- 37:35I put my jacket on over. It goes good with the jacket,
- 37:37yeah. Anything about my orientation
- 37:40agenda, But I just I like it. I was going to ask her where the
- 37:43wig? Monty, like notably doesn't say
- 37:45anything, like just notably like just kind of smiles and like,
- 37:49but like to her, that's a really nice thing that she's doing.
- 37:53I feel like you seem self satisfied.
- 37:56I think I am enjoying you feeling self satisfied and to me
- 38:00that means that I've done a really good job as a host.
- 38:03I think that's a good thing from coming from you.
- 38:05So I'll take it. Yeah, that sounds nice.
- 38:06Awesome. OK, so I'll stay here, guard the
- 38:09box and you guys can like do your thing.
- 38:13We'll get the other one. Yeah, you got the odd games.
- 38:15We'll get the lanterns and get them ready to go.
- 38:18Love it. Do we have to go like?
- 38:21Through the beach to get to this path?
- 38:22Or is it something like we can grab the box, get back in the
- 38:24woods and then go to the path I? Think yeah, Joey probably goes
- 38:27to get the box with the map and I go dig up the bacon.
- 38:30Yeah. With the advice from Goody about
- 38:32when to like time the eyesight from the counselors and stuff.
- 38:35With laser maps. Laser maps.
- 38:36Perfect. Yeah.
- 38:37So with the yard games box, the three of you are standing sort
- 38:40of along the forest edge, correct, Monty?
- 38:42You would have probably 100 feet to the shed where you've hidden
- 38:47the paper lanterns and then you could sort of from that shed,
- 38:51sneak around to the other side of the lake towards the path,
- 38:54OK. Cool.
- 38:55Also, where did Judd put the wheelbarrow back?
- 38:57It's at the gatehouse. All right, it's cool.
- 38:59So could is it being guarded right now?
- 39:02Probably not cool because Judd walked away, correct.
- 39:04So I, I will be, will be taking the wheelbarrow with us to OK, I
- 39:08think probably for the yard games, I would assume they're
- 39:10gonna be like heavier and more. Yeah, I think you could carry
- 39:12the lanterns. I could keep my shoes on and
- 39:14rotate a little. OK, I don't, I don't know what
- 39:17that means. I mean, I just did it.
- 39:19Didn't you see me get to the? When you just.
- 39:21Disappeared into the bushes and then you yelled rotate, rotate,
- 39:24rotate. And then you just kind of, I
- 39:26felt like you were miles away and then suddenly you were back.
- 39:28Monty, no one understands me like you.
- 39:32Great, so totally down to do the wheelbarrow thing if someone
- 39:37else pushes it though because like these heels have no tread
- 39:39on them. I said I would rotate.
- 39:41Oh, OK. Right, OK, so OK, I'll, you
- 39:44know, take our little box over you, meet me here, grab the
- 39:47lanterns, and then someone else can wheelbarrow them and I'll
- 39:51walk. You're.
- 39:53Not going to sit on top. I considered it, but I'm feeling
- 39:56part of the team today. Wow, now I'm loving this plan.
- 40:01OK. So what will it take for us to
- 40:02do this unseen? Joey, I would like you to roll
- 40:06Misdirection 4 and I would like to see a 10.
- 40:08OK, Monty, I'm going to have you roll.
- 40:12Is there something you'd like to roll?
- 40:13I was either thinking appraisal to look at the state of the
- 40:17wheelbarrow to see if they're like it's going to squeak or
- 40:20going to be a problem, or is surveillance to just be like
- 40:23extra eyes. OK, you pick.
- 40:26Well, if I get the Peck, I'm going to appraisal, OK.
- 40:28You've got appraisal 4, I would like to see a 10 and then Goody,
- 40:33what would you like to use? I'm rotating with my shoe.
- 40:36Goody is rotating OK. You have rotating 3.
- 40:39I would like to see an 8. Are you taking the wheelbarrow?
- 40:42Am I? I'm not gonna tell you again,
- 40:45okay, rotating. Rotating with the wheelbarrow I
- 40:47think. I think.
- 40:48I'm getting the bacon in the wheelbarrow.
- 40:50Well, don't forget the yard games.
- 40:52It sounds like you're all helping each other, so each of
- 40:54you can add +1. That's a 14 for me, then 13.
- 40:59Monty rolled a 21 and she's gonna expend 3 XP to level up
- 41:07appraisal. Whoa.
- 41:09That's wild, how many D6 is that?
- 41:11Holy shit I got 1D6 and I rolled 3 fives.
- 41:14So amazing. Wow, well you all blew your your
- 41:18checks out of the water. So this is.
- 41:19On a roll. A smashing success.
- 41:21We are on a roll. This is where the the the music
- 41:24with a beat actually hits the music and.
- 41:26We're giving this camp a second chance.
- 41:34I think also, you know, she talks about being really good at
- 41:38praising people all the time. I never heard or compliment
- 41:41anybody. That's not part of the process.
- 41:43It's just, you know, it's appraisal, appraisal.
- 41:46Oh, oh, what's that mean? Like, I just like tell you
- 41:50what's up and like you do something about it.
- 41:52So the opposite of praising, OK. Yes.
- 41:57The the lack of praise. My mom taught it to me growing
- 42:03up. It's like a really good way to
- 42:05like manage your emotions. Did.
- 42:08Did she appraise you a lot? Oh yeah, constantly.
- 42:10What do you how do you think I'm so pretty?
- 42:13This is when we insert the. I think Joey leans in and
- 42:20whispers to Cody. Man, thank God for you.
- 42:22I had no idea what you were talking about until she just
- 42:25said all the things that you she said and you said the things
- 42:27that you said. And now I'm kind of caught up I
- 42:30think. But thank God that was you and
- 42:32not me. You can add an A and you become
- 42:34Monty. That's.
- 42:35What I'm saying? What is that?
- 42:37I really thought you was just telling me I look nice.
- 42:39I'm a goodie. OK, Monty, what does appraisal
- 42:43for become? I think I want it to become a
- 42:46conductor. Oh.
- 42:49That's so, that's so cool. I'm I'm inspired to think of you
- 42:53like seeing a bunch of camp kids, like some kids got a
- 42:56bloody nose and starts running back towards the first aid like
- 42:59and is going to get in the way and somehow get a counselor
- 43:01headed our way. And you give him a like a cotton
- 43:04swab as he comes to, yeah, just whatever ways you're just
- 43:06distracting and coordinating all over.
- 43:08Deflecting. Coordinating.
- 43:10I love it. Guy in the van except Gal on the
- 43:12wheelbarrow. Oh yeah.
- 43:14Oh. Yeah, that's amazing.
- 43:15What a role. OK, you've all reconvened, not
- 43:20just with the yard games, not just with the lanterns, but
- 43:23you're using the wheelbarrow to tow these crates toward the
- 43:27Lantern path and the other side of the beach where tonight's
- 43:30Lantern path luau ceremony will take place.
- 43:34You make it there in one piece, and there's a clearing where the
- 43:37beach opens up, and then a few yards away, the Lantern path
- 43:40begins. What do you do first?
- 43:43I. Think Monty would like step
- 43:45forward and go? Hey, forest spirits.
- 43:52Season, everything happens. Maybe that will work if you do
- 43:55it when I did it, and I did it pretty genuinely and I asked
- 43:58Brittany nicely. We just have to like keep the
- 44:02energy that like we're here to help, you know, like we are here
- 44:05to solve all the lanterns problems.
- 44:08Do you want me to throat sing? So something that you noticed
- 44:12this morning when you woke up at camp, at your hammock tent, camp
- 44:16in the woods, was that on your walk back on the path, the
- 44:19lanterns were no longer lit. You're sensing that they're not
- 44:23a daytime vibe. They don't participate in the
- 44:27daytime. They're sleeping.
- 44:28They're sleeping and I think we have to do a heist, if you will,
- 44:32of the sleeping lanterns and replace them.
- 44:34It's like, well, baby snatching. I don't think, maybe not that
- 44:40child. Endangerment child.
- 44:43I think we just have to redress them right.
- 44:44It's not like we're stealing anything.
- 44:46We're yeah, we're giving them a makeover.
- 44:48And then we can take all the old ones with burn them at the end.
- 44:50If y'all don't mind me being the conductor, I think Monty would
- 44:54like, OK, so we need to take this box out and she's just
- 44:56going to start like walking down the path like they can't hurt
- 44:59us. It's the daytime, OK, we've got
- 45:01this. Don't try to hurt the old
- 45:03lanterns because we can maybe give them a second chance if you
- 45:07will. I don't know.
- 45:09Last time I walked down the path, I saw my dad in the time
- 45:12that he told me that he was proud of me, just so that I give
- 45:14him the $100. And then I went in cosmic
- 45:16bowling. But remember, it was dark out.
- 45:18It's not dark right now like the sun is shining.
- 45:21Yeah, I get that's true cosmic bowling too.
- 45:23So I like daytime bowling. So this will be this will be
- 45:26fine. It's like what Patrice used to
- 45:27tell me when I was little and afraid of the monsters under my
- 45:30bed is that like if the sun is up, the monsters can't hurt me?
- 45:33Auntie wants to like be laying down the lanterns at each tree
- 45:37and like popping them and I imagine like or maybe like
- 45:40Joey's popping them behind her and then Goodie is like
- 45:43scampering up the tree and grabbing the old ones and like
- 45:45we're just like we are a well oiled machine.
- 45:48Assembly line style. I really like that.
- 45:50I like, I like the idea of just like a lot of tossing, like,
- 45:53like and me like tossing up into the tree line and and then you
- 45:57just hear. Skinner like and he jumps to the
- 46:00next tree. Joey throws the Lantern.
- 46:01Justin. And I'm literally leaving a tied
- 46:04explosive shoelace zigzagging across the path as I'm cool and
- 46:09it looks like I'm a spider. Oh my.
- 46:11God I love this. I'm a spider man.
- 46:13I'm keeping an eye on your work so we're not like harming the
- 46:15forest like or the Lantern. I'm telling you the blast radius
- 46:18of each. OK, well.
- 46:19That one pack's actually a little bit of a punch.
- 46:21It's a. Knot or single knot that just
- 46:23double knot or single? Knot, dribble knot.
- 46:24Probably. That's too many knots.
- 46:27Okay, double knot will be fine. Let me just and I pinch out a
- 46:30little bit of the powder within the that little popper explosive
- 46:35again, not the. Drug just the explosive.
- 46:38Did you just snort that? No, no.
- 46:42But my Mama says not to do drugs and I don't think gunpowder
- 46:45counts. Joey, did you just do drugs?
- 46:48No, I have superpowers. It's.
- 46:49Daytime, Joey, they can't hurt you.
- 46:51It's daytime. I know I'm always around.
- 46:53I just imagine my economically I'm not.
- 46:55Screaming into the forest. Monty doesn't hear his moms.
- 47:00It's just. Joey, they can't hurt you.
- 47:01It's daytime, Joey. Sorry.
- 47:04I come too. I'm sorry.
- 47:06I have what they call day terrors.
- 47:08Oh no. You just hear from the upper
- 47:10tree. Hey, Joey's mom.
- 47:13Oh God. OK, it is daytime.
- 47:16The lanterns aren't glowing, but you do feel you feel really
- 47:20comforted and calm by sort of the lantern's presence.
- 47:24Now that you are back on the Lantern path, could you remind
- 47:27me what your goal is with the exploding shoestring?
- 47:30I want to contribute to the experience, so like kind of make
- 47:34if the sky lit up but then there was some fireworks or something,
- 47:37I'd feel like it was on purpose and not just some psychedelic
- 47:40trip that was sending me so good vibes.
- 47:42Good. Vibes OK ambiance I think.
- 47:44Yeah, I think that's like a like a cool.
- 47:45Path for like going this way? Yeah, I was.
- 47:47With you as soon as you said. OK, sweet.
- 47:49OK, Monty, yes, why don't you roll conductor 5 to see how you
- 47:52sort of orchestrate this collaborative effort?
- 47:57I would like to see a 12O. Yeah, 22.
- 48:05OK eats it, beats it. That's amazing.
- 48:10All right guys, it's about to get real.
- 48:12So thanks to Monty's really keen conducting senses, you guys are
- 48:16all sort of, you're finding your flow as you remove old lanterns
- 48:22and inspect them and treat them with kindness and care for them,
- 48:26while also popping up and expanding and replacing the old
- 48:29lanterns with new ones. So you're starting to really put
- 48:32the puzzle pieces together and it sort of feels like the path
- 48:35is is nudging you in the right direction.
- 48:38The path is revealing to you why this all matters so much.
- 48:42So you're beginning to understand that the lanterns
- 48:45have long served as Nets and sponges, catching and absorbing
- 48:50the heightened emotions of campers during Lantern Path
- 48:53ceremony walks. They've quelled campers
- 48:57troublemaking tendencies and helped teens stay on the right
- 49:00path, both literally and figuratively, by easing their
- 49:04worries, comforting their fears, and validating their interests
- 49:08in the past. Designed to help regulate
- 49:11emotions by removing the intensity, these lanterns are
- 49:15equal parts mystical and mysterious.
- 49:18You've never experienced anything like them, but it's
- 49:21clear that they were once instrumental in the success and
- 49:24notoriety of Camp Second Chance, providing campers with a
- 49:27comforting haven during troubling times.
- 49:31But since the lanterns haven't been replaced in at least five
- 49:34years, they've been full to bursting with negative energies
- 49:38and overwhelming auras of campers who once believed in the
- 49:42magic of Camp Second Chance. And in turn, the lanterns
- 49:46couldn't hold it in any longer. They've spent several years
- 49:49terrorizing the Lantern path with hypnotizing obstacles,
- 49:54false realities, and warped pathways.
- 49:57They were trying to tell you it wasn't safe.
- 50:00They were trying to tell you they couldn't help anymore.
- 50:04I I, I, I feel like I'm getting visions.
- 50:06I'm I'm seeing things here that. I think we're doing what we're
- 50:09supposed to. I can, I can, I can feel, I can
- 50:12be a people crying, people cheering.
- 50:14I I so much so much has happened in these bags.
- 50:17I don't think the lanterns just listen, I think they talk.
- 50:20As you unstring old lanterns from the trees, you feel an
- 50:24eerie intensity flood the forest, collapsing lanterns 1 by
- 50:281. Your chests feel heavy and your
- 50:31minds are burdened by memories, moods, and stories of
- 50:35troublemakers before you. You are relieving the lanterns
- 50:39of their responsibilities and allowing the contents of the
- 50:42lanterns intense energies, both good and bad, to dissipate into
- 50:47the earth, into the sky, and into the forest around you.
- 50:51These energies aren't harmful. They've been separated from
- 50:54their origins troublemakers past.
- 50:57Rather, the deflation of these paper lanterns feels like a sigh
- 51:01of relief, like letting go of the tension that brought you
- 51:04here. You know you are doing right by
- 51:06these lanterns and doing right for future campers who will walk
- 51:10this path. And now, with fresh lanterns
- 51:13lining the way, you have the opportunity to do right for you
- 51:17too. Is there anything you would like
- 51:20to let go of and release for the lanterns to hold for you?
- 51:25Hey. Joey.
- 51:27Yeah, goody. I was just thinking about how
- 51:30I'm always trying to fight myself and be two people.
- 51:33You ever feel like that? I, I at times I, I don't
- 51:38necessarily know who I am. I I would say I can resonate
- 51:42with that. I, I think that's how I feel
- 51:44sometimes and I use my shoes as an excuse to explore pieces of
- 51:48myself that I don't always agree with.
- 51:51And I don't know, Monty, do you feel different when you dress up
- 51:55really nice? Yeah, I feel like more like
- 51:57myself. I think I'm going to stop using
- 52:00what I wear as an excuse to do things, and I think I'm just
- 52:04going to start trying to dress nice.
- 52:07Dress for success, dress for you, goody.
- 52:10Do you have any of those small demolitions?
- 52:13Maybe just something that could stay burning?
- 52:15Yeah, honestly, goody. It's it's why I make them to
- 52:19feel something, to remind me that I'm human.
- 52:22And now I'm here like, I don't just want to make things
- 52:25explode, I want to, I want to feel things and I want to know
- 52:29what what this whole thing is all about.
- 52:31And sometimes I just feel like it's all just a spinning mumbo
- 52:34jumbo that I can't quite figure out.
- 52:36So if there's anything that I know that works, it's trying
- 52:41something new and learning. And it sounds like that's what
- 52:43you want to do. So I'm all bored.
- 52:45Here's some bombs. I just feel more comfortable
- 52:48being myself around you guys and I think that's taught me that I
- 52:51can let go of be in any specific half of myself.
- 52:55I'm not goody and I'm not baddie.
- 52:57I'm just me. What's your name?
- 53:02My my my grandma used to call me Yin.
- 53:07That's I love that. I love that.
- 53:08That's very peaceful. It feels calm.
- 53:11Yeah, I never really connected with it, but I think I
- 53:14understand now and. I think I'm going to take your
- 53:16explosive and emulate what I want to do with the old lanterns
- 53:20and put a little flame inside and I'm going to lift it and I'm
- 53:25hoping we're near twilight. Yeah, it's definitely you guys
- 53:27took several hours to deconstruct the lanterns on the
- 53:30path and hang up new ones, so we're getting into dusky
- 53:35territory. I think I hand the lit Lantern
- 53:37in front of you guys and like kind of expecting hands to to
- 53:41join me and I want to the how hard it was for us to find this
- 53:46and, you know, move through all these emotions.
- 53:47I want to make an easy path with the shoelace and the lanterns
- 53:51coming up from where they go up to the campers.
- 53:54Like a little beacon to show them where to go.
- 53:56Yeah, I would want to light all of them, but I think this is a
- 53:58good start. Oh, that's really nice.
- 54:01Let's roll for that, goody. Laser maps.
- 54:04You think? Yeah, I guess you're showing
- 54:06them the way. Let's see Laser maps 3.
- 54:08I would love to see a 10. That is a 13.
- 54:14Perfect. Yeah, I think you get 1-2, maybe
- 54:17even 3 fun lanterns up if you'd like to have a few more to
- 54:20light. The way.
- 54:21You guys are making this feel really special for kids who
- 54:26probably haven't had anyone rolling out the red carpet for
- 54:29them in recent years. This is really, really special.
- 54:33Should we set up the yard games? Well, I think I'd actually like
- 54:36to light maybe one more candle just for just for myself, for
- 54:42casino night and all the people that were hurt, I've been
- 54:48feeling bad about for a long time.
- 54:49And I need to let it go because it was it was never my idea.
- 54:54My, my dad put me up to it and I tried to turn it into something
- 54:57good. I tried that night.
- 54:58I've done it time and again and I've honestly, I think that I
- 55:01think, I think this Lantern is my dad, Not in a little way.
- 55:05I, I, I'm a human being. My, I, I, I don't have Lantern
- 55:08blood or whatever. I, metaphorically this Lantern I
- 55:13think is the idea of me, or maybe rather the idea of my,
- 55:18what my expectations of my dad are.
- 55:20And I need to let that go because every time I forget,
- 55:25it's another casino night. You know, Joey, the only thing I
- 55:29expect of you is to be here. You're pretty great.
- 55:32You're really brave. Thanks, Ian, and thanks Monty.
- 55:36Yeah, still Monty. You know, you, you and my sister
- 55:38Marty would actually get along really, really well.
- 55:40Monty and Marty. Yeah, she's her name's Mariela.
- 55:43She's a, she's a really, really good boxer.
- 55:45And my other sister, Gabriella, you love her.
- 55:47She's a she's a mechanic. And anyways, I just, I, they're
- 55:52always talking about pretty stuff and stuff, but like nobody
- 55:54really understands them. And, and I think you're one of
- 55:57the good ones. And I think I'd like to
- 55:58introduce you to my sisters. I.
- 56:00I said I'd like to introduce you to my sisters.
- 56:03I would love to meet your sisters, Joey.
- 56:06Thank you. I sorry I put so so intense
- 56:08there for a moment. It's just the first time I've
- 56:10ever asked anyone to do that. Yeah, I would love to be
- 56:13introduced to your sisters as your friend.
- 56:17That's what I was hoping. Awesome.
- 56:21Hey, hey, Goody, come over here. Give Goody with that same talk
- 56:24for me, for you. You're the one that's got a
- 56:26chance with it, OK. Monty, after seeing like her,
- 56:34both of her new found friends find themselves as feeling very.
- 56:40Self fulfilled think I, I, I want to light a Lantern too,
- 56:46although I, I, I can't confidently say that I
- 56:49understand why I was sent to this camp.
- 56:54I'd I have learned that maybe being the Hostess with the
- 56:58mostess wasn't necessarily about how it made me feel when people
- 57:04experienced a really good party, but about how they feel when
- 57:08they come to one of my really, really good parties.
- 57:12And I think maybe that that's more important than like the
- 57:16social status. I it's more important than the
- 57:21social status I can claim from being the Hostess with the
- 57:26mostess. Wow.
- 57:28Monty, I just, I want to let you know that most of the time you
- 57:32make me feel pretty good to be around you and that is saying
- 57:36something for how bad you make me feel sometimes.
- 57:39I mean, it's always felt like a party.
- 57:40That's what I'm saying. Like a roller.
- 57:42Coaster. I mean, it's like.
- 57:43The up and down. Sometimes we make fun of Joey,
- 57:45but I mean. Yeah, sometimes my my, my jacket
- 57:47gets poked full of holes, but that would help me see that my
- 57:49dad was also full of holes, like Swiss cheese.
- 57:52Right. I think there's something for
- 57:54everyone to learn at a good party and, and every good party
- 57:57has ebbs and flows, right? You know, like you got to bring
- 58:00them down. Bring them up.
- 58:01But anyways, yeah, so I think I like push people away or like,
- 58:05you know, hold them at a distance because like, I don't,
- 58:09I don't feel like I have anything real to offer, you
- 58:13know? Hey, my family's hugged us.
- 58:16And I, I, I pull, I pull them on too.
- 58:17Just please our hearts on. Our side.
- 58:18Oh, OK, wait. I'm in the mood.
- 58:22This is this is actually kind of nice.
- 58:26You're good as you are. You're good as you are.
- 58:29Well, I know that it's on my, it's on my Mia.
- 58:31Well, it's not, we're not at home right now, but on my Mia at
- 58:33home, I got. You're good as you are,
- 58:36sunshine. So I have a question because my
- 58:39shaman tells me this all the time and I just have so much
- 58:42trouble believing him. How?
- 58:44How do you say something and believe it?
- 58:47Well The thing is, you gotta just remember that.
- 58:49I mean we're all just stupid dumb ass people trying to get
- 58:52by. Not good, not bad, just stupid
- 58:55dumb ass people trying to get the fuck by.
- 58:57And Rich. Some of us that that it kind of
- 59:00also lends you towards the. She, like, stands up a little
- 59:03straighter. And Rich, definitely not the end
- 59:05to that. Definitely not the end to that.
- 59:07I mean, you can really just instead of believing, you can
- 59:10just have faith until you get there.
- 59:12So my worth doesn't depend on like how much money my family
- 59:16makes. Now it's really about the things
- 59:18you do, the people you surround yourself, and the values that
- 59:22you hold most dear. So I really should start
- 59:26implementing like a guest list. It shouldn't just be like, open
- 59:28for all, yeah. Well, I mean, yeah, I mean.
- 59:30I think if you light the Lantern with us, it will make you feel
- 59:34something that you don't have to do anything or anyone but you.
- 59:38OK, I light the Lantern. I believe.
- 59:42I believe. I believe that Monty throws one
- 59:44hell of a party and it's about to be 1.
- 59:47Amen, I. Feel like I'm hearing the kids
- 59:49like to start to gather behind us like the the the cessoris of
- 59:53the the noise of the crowd. Oh, here they come.
- 59:55OK, everyone in their in your places.
- 59:57In your places. Wait, you guys do the yard
- 59:58games? I'll do the spider web the
- 59:59second one. This one's for you, Monty.
- 1:00:01OK, OK. Sets up the yard game.
- 1:00:04Just make sure like everything is angled perfectly.
- 1:00:07Just that like last check before people come to your house.
- 1:00:09Like OK, did I get everything? Oh, and I started a fire for the
- 1:00:12bacon. Oh perfect, the smell will
- 1:00:15beckon them here. I feel like one last thing that
- 1:00:19I'm not sure if Monty or Joey might do this, but I imagine
- 1:00:23there's a game of like cornhole or bag toss, people caught and
- 1:00:26one of us tosses the bag to make it feel like there's a game
- 1:00:29that's already been played. Like as if the night is kind of
- 1:00:31already started as they all are walking into this big
- 1:00:33extravaganza. Just the tiniest little extra
- 1:00:36touch to mar the perfection that has been set.
- 1:00:39I think Monty would see Joey do this and give him a little nod
- 1:00:42and like a wink of like. Inspired, right?
- 1:00:45Right. I think I'm getting it.
- 1:00:46It's. A really good idea it's.
- 1:00:48A It's like. A It makes it more inviting, you
- 1:00:49know, It's like a Symphony. Yeah.
- 1:00:51Like people can touch this. Should should we hide?
- 1:00:55Up in the tree. Well, if we go up in the tree,
- 1:00:57they'll think that everything was just here for them.
- 1:00:59I just don't want them to think it was us.
- 1:01:01That's a really good point. We should hide and join the
- 1:01:02group. Let's just have fun and look at
- 1:01:04let's. Just join let's.
- 1:01:05Just like, bask in our own greatness.
- 1:01:06Hey Joey, will you do the? Honors and I hand like the most
- 1:01:10like Goonies contraption ignition you gave me earlier for
- 1:01:15the explosive. OK, so you're not supposed to
- 1:01:18wire live to neutral to ground all in You're just normally not
- 1:01:24done. You said connect the wires.
- 1:01:27That's fair. It should.
- 1:01:29Move inches one wire away from another.
- 1:01:31That might be catastrophic. Yeah, it should be fine.
- 1:01:36And I as the kids, as I hear the kids come, I hit that button or
- 1:01:41whatever contraption Goody has given me to light up the the
- 1:01:45Lantern path with the many little explosives.
- 1:01:48The shoestring. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:50I'm imagine. I'm hoping that it correlates to
- 1:01:52some of the lanterns lighting up.
- 1:01:54Yeah, I was just going to say So the sun is officially setting
- 1:01:57around camp, and just as it does, this big swell of campers
- 1:02:01arrives from the path along the lake.
- 1:02:04And almost as if by magic, simultaneously, the lanterns
- 1:02:10begin to glow. They sort of like movie magic.
- 1:02:14Click click click on into the path into the darkness of the
- 1:02:18woods like they're welcoming campers home.
- 1:02:21The luau is going to happen here on the beach 1st but as a warm
- 1:02:25welcome. The lanterns glow really warmly.
- 1:02:29At the same time, this firecracker shoelace begins to
- 1:02:33sparkle, like sort of raining down little sparks and sparkles
- 1:02:39along the path, just for some extra razzle dazzle pyrotechnic
- 1:02:43grand finale. Yes, so cool.
- 1:02:45I was just going to say it's, it's, it's that sound of
- 1:02:48fireworks that that little sizzle sound that's.
- 1:02:51Better than what I pictured. That's so cool.
- 1:02:52I love it as you guys see campers faces just light up with
- 1:02:58joy and awe as they arrive to the site of the luau and the
- 1:03:02beginning of the Lantern path which now glows and sparkles
- 1:03:07like with fresh newness. Have you guys tried to weasel
- 1:03:12your way into the crowd as if you're going to attend the luau
- 1:03:15as normal? I think, yeah, I think so.
- 1:03:18I mean, there's a piece of Monty that wants to take credit for
- 1:03:21everything, but I think she is laying that down to to just
- 1:03:25enjoy what they have set up with the rest of the campers and a
- 1:03:29little selfishly, like be in the crowd to hear like what people
- 1:03:32are saying. Like do they?
- 1:03:34Enjoy your own party. Exactly.
- 1:03:36I was just gonna say it feels like parents at Christmas, like
- 1:03:40enjoying the idea of Santa. And I think Joey, in that same
- 1:03:44vein, is really hamming it up and being like.
- 1:03:46I just get here. That's wild with this.
- 1:03:49I mean, this place has been such a bummer up until now.
- 1:03:53What a what a big turn around. What a change of fortunes, am I
- 1:03:55right? What an absolute amazing thing.
- 1:03:57When we were here last night, it looked totally different.
- 1:04:00This place really is magic. Yeah, it's like a it's like a
- 1:04:03once in a lifetime opportunity that just landed in everyone's
- 1:04:06laps. Joey, did you say Santa?
- 1:04:09Was it real? I don't think I said anything
- 1:04:12about Santa recently, but Goody I don't think he is.
- 1:04:18Well, that's a bummer. Sorry.
- 1:04:21Do you prefer yen now? I mean, you can call me I like,
- 1:04:25I like when you guys call me Goody.
- 1:04:26I just, I, I think a change of heart doesn't always have to
- 1:04:29come with a change of name, but it's nice that I can keep my
- 1:04:31shoes on or off without being different.
- 1:04:33Well, if I if you're ever worried that I am an alien
- 1:04:36duplicate, because with you, you never know, I will tell you your
- 1:04:40true name. But for now, I'll call you
- 1:04:43goody. I cuz I, I also imagine just
- 1:04:46like having our own little party, watching the lanterns
- 1:04:48initially going up and Monty having her moment and then when
- 1:04:51we did sneak back into the crowd.
- 1:04:52I in addition to like the, you know, Christmas and being there
- 1:04:57for the kids. I think goodies like walking
- 1:04:59around and truly being part of the people for like the first
- 1:05:02time. That's so nice.
- 1:05:03Yeah. I think you guys mix and mingle
- 1:05:05with other campers, but you always keep a line of sight on
- 1:05:08each other and you steal glances and smirks and sort of relish in
- 1:05:13this little secret that you have together.
- 1:05:18The luau commences, and later that night, after the luau, your
- 1:05:22camp mates prepare to take their first steps along the trail and
- 1:05:26into the forest. You observe them from the back
- 1:05:29of the pack, maybe watching as they venture forth onto a path
- 1:05:34that is sure to leave them feeling lighter and brighter,
- 1:05:37followed by Lottie and Brock and a few other counselors
- 1:05:41snickering as if expecting the usual chaos and confusion.
- 1:05:45Like in recent years, you wonder how things are going to change
- 1:05:49around here, how Camp Second Chance might evolve and even
- 1:05:53thrive now that the Lanterns are able to do their job properly.
- 1:05:57You have succeeded in giving this camp a second chance to
- 1:06:00heal, to heal itself, and to heal campers.
- 1:06:05You may have arrived as troublemakers, but you'll leave
- 1:06:08as unsung heroes with a little more hope and a lot more
- 1:06:11friendship, if you can call it that.
- 1:06:15And here is where we'll end our session.
- 1:06:19This got a lot sappier than I was expecting, but what can I
- 1:06:23say? I can always count on this table
- 1:06:25to turn silly stories into something meaningful.
- 1:06:29I hope you enjoyed the finale of Camp Second Chance.
