  Speaker 1: Good morning.
• 0:01
Speaker 1: It's another Faith Fuel.
• 0:02
Speaker 1: That means it's Saturday and I'm on here hoping to inspire and encourage you.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: I'm so grateful for those of y'all who watch these very, very short teachings.
• 0:12
Speaker 1: I hope this is, I don't know, filling your cup a little bit, but today I want to share something from Proverbs 15, verse 1.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: I probably don't even need to look at it.
• 0:23
Speaker 1: In my memory, I remember this scripture because this is something that my mom, just for as long as I can remember, this was the one scripture that she taught me.
• 0:32
Speaker 1: She was a minister and she was also a teacher, and it is a soft answer.
• 0:37
Speaker 1: Turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.
• 0:41
Speaker 1: I'm going to read it from the ESV version and go through a couple other scriptures, and I think it's very timely, as we can see on our timelines some of the things that people are sharing out, especially believers.
• 0:55
Speaker 1: I think it's timely for us to be reminded that we are the peacemakers.
• 1:00
Speaker 1: So, lord, I just thank you that everything that you have for us we'll be able to access through your word.
• 1:07
Speaker 1: Thank you, holy Spirit, for coaching us, encouraging us, leading us, blessing us and guiding us today in your word.
• 1:14
  Speaker 1: A soft answer.
• 1:16
Speaker 1: Amen, best word, soft answer.
• 1:20
Speaker 1: So Proverbs 15, this is the ESV version and verse one it says different, turn on it a different interpretation.
• 1:27
Speaker 1: A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
• 1:33
Speaker 1: So I want us to think about the way that we are responding posting, liking, commenting and sharing.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: Right Again, I'm speaking to those of us who are proclaimed.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: You know, we follow Jesus.
• 1:45
Speaker 1: Jesus is the way, the Holy Spirit, all the things Right that we have to be careful now not to provoke anger in other people.
• 1:55
Speaker 1: Here's the rest of it.
• 1:58
Speaker 1: It says the tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of fool pour out folly.
• 2:03
Speaker 1: The tongue of the wise commend knowledge.
• 2:06
Speaker 1: So, just in terms of discipline, something that I'm going to be doing even more so this is our year of discipline and for the rest of this year is making sure that I am the tongue of the wise.
• 2:18
Speaker 1: I've become the tongue of the wise and what I'm sharing is something that's helpful, not harmful, it doesn't stir up wrath, it doesn't create chaos and always provides a solution right.
• 2:30
Speaker 1: So there's a lot of folks, whether you're in business, like on the job, you know people share things and it's more to create gossip or chaos.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: Or maybe you see it on social media, maybe you see it in your church, you see it in your family, whatever.
• 2:45
Speaker 1: But this year, because we're trying, remember, we're trying to be disciplined this year with our tongue as well is to be careful that what we share, what we say, how we respond, we're not creating more havoc, we're not creating more chaos.
• 3:01
Speaker 1: I love it when it says the eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
• 3:09
Speaker 1: So we know that.
• 3:13
Speaker 1: You know, when we're staring up chaos, or maybe we're staring up anger, when we're using harsh words or we're demonizing people or we're criticizing people, especially when we do it in a public space, y'all not to say, when you do it just one-on-one is not bad, but especially when you do it on a public space, that the eyes of the Lord, he's watching you too, right, he's watching you too.
• 3:36
Speaker 1: Verse four says a gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
• 3:44
Speaker 1: So a gentle tongue when you talk about the tree of life and um you know bringing um, how do you say this?
• 3:53
Speaker 1: I'm trying to say this so, like you know, y'all understand what I'm saying.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: I'm trying to, uh, like a gentleman used to tell me, put it where the ghost can get it.
• 4:02
Speaker 1: I'm trying to explain to you in a way that you know.
• 4:06
Speaker 1: I know there's going to be some people who get offended because they're, they've, they've, they've built, um, not really their life, but their persona has been caught up in what I call clickbait Christianity or just throwing things out because it is going to get them likes and clicks and more eyeballs on it and y'all are going to get just as charged and angry and in the comment section and they feel good it rubs, it scratches an itch that they have.
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: That is vanity.
• 4:36
Speaker 1: And so for me again, for those of us who want to be prosperous, be the ones who are the breakthrough in our families.
• 4:48
Speaker 1: We want to be the blessing, not just for ourselves but for those around us.
• 4:53
Speaker 1: In order for you to be a blessing for the people around you, you have to be mindful, careful of what you say.
• 5:00
Speaker 1: When it says a soft word, it means that y'all.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: Sometimes it's not about like you know.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: You know when kids get a cut or you get a cut and people you know, it's not about pouring more salt in the cut, like I don't have to come to you and make things worse.
• 5:21
Speaker 1: I don't have to share something out because it's you know it's going to make me feel good but make y'all feel worse.
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: I don't.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: I really don't have to, I don't need to do that.
• 5:31
Speaker 1: Anything that's going to create wrath or anger or chaos.
• 5:34
Speaker 1: I don't want any part to that right.
• 5:37
Speaker 1: That's what I'm trying to say, because God is watching us too.
• 5:41
Speaker 1: He is watching how we treat people.
• 5:43
Speaker 1: We cannot demonize people and I know, as I'm saying, this is so hard because there's so much stuff negative stuff that's happening around us y'all.
• 5:53
Speaker 1: And yet, even in the middle of this chaos, there's so many blessings, god is showing up in so many amazing ways.
• 6:00
Speaker 1: There's so many prayers that are being answered and people who are finding peace in Christ and people who are giving their life to God.
• 6:08
Speaker 1: And I just want to encourage you to not fall into that pit of being the one that's harsh and stirring up anger or doing the things.
• 6:20
Speaker 1: That gets you the likes and the clicks, but it leaves a trail of chaos Again.
• 6:25
Speaker 1: God is watching you too.
• 6:26
Speaker 1: God is watching you too.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: A gentle tongue is a tree of life, perverseness and it breaks the spirit.
• 6:35
Speaker 1: So we also want to be careful that we're not breaking people's spirits.
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: I hope this helped y'all.
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: I hope this helped y'all.
• 6:45
Speaker 1: This is a you know this, I'm in the US for those of y'all who watch and listen in other countries and this is a tough time right now because everything is emotionally charged and if you say the wrong thing right now, you don't know who's toes you're stepping on.
• 7:05
Speaker 1: I mean, I get and hear comments from people and sometimes I'm like where did it even come from?
• 7:13
Speaker 1: Like we're not even using critical thinking at this point.
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: We're just straight, we're straight.
• 7:17
Speaker 1: Like we're not even using critical thinking at this point.
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: We're just straight, we're straight.
• 7:20
Speaker 1: But you know we're straight, just upset, um, and scared and worried.
• 7:23
Speaker 1: And some people are excited and you know they're.
• 7:25
Speaker 1: They're at it right, um.
• 7:27
Speaker 1: But regardless of, um, what you're you're going through right now, regardless of what's happening around you, we still serve a God who hears us, but we also serve a God who sees everything that we say and do and the seeds that we plant this year.
• 7:48
Speaker 1: I keep saying this the seeds you plant this month here in February, you will reap at the end of this year, will reap at the end of this year.
• 8:01
Speaker 1: So if you're putting out anything that is adding to chaos or harm and you're not providing a solution, a help.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
• 8:06
Speaker 1: If you're just being junior reporter and you're just reposting stuff but you're not providing a solution, like for folks who are losing their job, is there a talent that you have where you could donate that talent to help people, instead of sharing the post that says, you know, these folks got laid off?
• 8:24
Speaker 1: If you have a talent where you could in that, in that post, to say, you know, hey, here, here are a couple of tips that might help help those of y'all who are looking for a job, who are looking for a job.
• 8:35
Speaker 1: Could you be the solution this season for those of you who are seeing all of the news about airplanes going down and all the accidents and all of the things.
• 8:46
Speaker 1: When you're sharing those posts, can you add a link for where people can go get help?
• 8:53
Speaker 1: Can you do a little bit more than just stirring up wrath?
• 8:56
Speaker 1: Can you just I'm begging you be the solution and the light that we're supposed to be and if you don't know what to say, say nothing Because it's creating so much angst.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: Listen, I invited folks and I'm inviting y'all watching this to please, you know, just record a short prayer and drop it on your social media page.
• 9:22
Speaker 1: You don't have to call anybody's name out, don't do that.
• 9:26
Speaker 1: But I'm inviting people to do that because those of us who are meant to be the light people still need to find us in the midst of all this darkness.
• 9:32
Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying People need to find us.
• 9:35
Speaker 1: So can I just invite you to do that this week, just maybe once a week?
• 9:39
Speaker 1: Y'all just a prayer, like from your heart, not cursing anyone, but but just praying for peace and praying for the folks in your family, your community, wherever god leads you, and and you upload that video and you put it on your social media and bless people in that way.
• 9:57
Speaker 1: Could you do that?
• 9:58
Speaker 1: A soft answer turns it away with wrath.
• 10:02
Speaker 1: A soft answer, grievous words, stir up anger.
• 10:07
Speaker 1: So we are the peacemakers, right?
• 10:10
Speaker 1: All right, lord, I just thank you and I pray that this word is going to reach the person who needs to hear this, me included.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: Lord, we're trying to be more disciplined in the way we speak and the way we respond and, lord, we thank you for the opportunity to serve.
• 10:27
Speaker 1: We thank you, holy Spirit, for going forward now into this day and blessing every person under the sound of my voice that they'll be drawn closer to you.
• 10:32
Speaker 1: Lord, you know, forgive us.
• 10:34
Speaker 1: Lord, forgive us and have mercy on all of us.
• 10:36
Speaker 1: All of us have sinned and fallen short, so we ask for your mercy in this hour and turn us around, lord God.
• 10:42
Speaker 1: We want to go back on the path you have for us, so turn us around and use us to be a blessing, lord God, in the places where you've put us In Jesus' name.
• 10:51
Speaker 1: Amen, all right, I love y'all.
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: Don't be mad, I love.
