Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Mark interviews WOR weeknight host Jimmy Failla.
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, nine till noon weekday.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Smart Simone.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Only on 710WOR. Well, Jimmy Fallon, he does a great
- 0:10Speaker 1: show here every night, nine to midnight. It's really funny, interesting.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I don't know how he keeps it up for three hours,
- 0:16Speaker 1: but he does. And then on Saturday nights, he does
- 0:19Speaker 1: the best late night show on television, Saturday nights at 10,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Fox News Channel. The finest monologue in all of television.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Make sure you watch it. Jimmy Fallon, how you doing?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Good, I survived a wild night in Fairfield, New Jersey
- 0:33Speaker 2: with the WOR listeners last night.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I heard you sold out the whole place.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Kachina Calandra, you know you've made it when you're
- 0:43Speaker 2: on the breadstick circuit, you know? A lot of guys
- 0:47Speaker 2: wanted to get on Carson, they wanted to get on
- 0:49Speaker 2: the Vegas Strip, I wanted to get on Route 46. Wow.
- 0:53Speaker 2: A ship has sailed in. It was great. We loved it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Good rowdy crowd. You cannot offend a New Jersey audience.
- 0:58Speaker 2: And believe me, I tried everything. It didn't happen.
- 1:02Speaker 1: But, you know, you travel the country every week and
- 1:04Speaker 1: you play the biggest venues. Isn't it kind of nice
- 1:07Speaker 1: to be a more intimate kind of club?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yes, because that's how you start out as a comic.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You're not playing 2,000 and 3,000 seat theaters. You usually
- 1:16Speaker 2: are partnering with a restaurant to do like a comedy night.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And the funny thing about last night, and this is
- 1:23Speaker 2: what was different about it, is obviously it's a much
- 1:25Speaker 2: classier venue than I started out in. But also, the
- 1:29Speaker 2: customers knew there was going to be a comedy show, okay?
- 1:32Speaker 2: One of the things they do in Manhattan and they
- 1:34Speaker 2: do a little bit out on Long Island is sometimes
- 1:36Speaker 2: you'll show up to a night of spaghetti thinking you're
- 1:39Speaker 2: going to have a quiet dinner, and then you find
- 1:41Speaker 2: out two bites in that you're in the front row
- 1:43Speaker 2: of a 35 comic extravaganza. So it wasn't an ambush.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It was a premeditated attack, and everybody was in on it,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and it was so great. So shout out to WOR.
- 1:53Speaker 2: They did a good job on that.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Because of you. You did it.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I guess.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Let's talk seriously about the Cheesecake Factory. I got the
- 2:03Speaker 1: impression that Obama did not really understand what Cheesecake Factory
- 2:07Speaker 1: means to Americans, real middle America.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Number one. Number two, his apology of he said, you know,
- 2:14Speaker 2: I have two daughters. I hung out at the Cheesecake Factory.
- 2:17Speaker 2: That was my jam. He wasn't going to the Cheesecake Factory. OK,
- 2:23Speaker 2: or they'd be putting up pictures to defend him, you know.
- 2:26Speaker 2: They don't have those pictures because he wasn't going because
- 2:29Speaker 2: he is an elitist snob. I have to tell you
- 2:32Speaker 2: this because everybody always says, well, Michelle Obama is going
- 2:36Speaker 2: to run someday. She's not going to run someday because
- 2:39Speaker 2: she hates everybody. She doesn't want to be around little
- 2:41Speaker 2: people like us on the campaign trail, and neither does he.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So when he showed up and did his little– he
- 2:47Speaker 2: does his little routine and he bangs on Trump and
- 2:49Speaker 2: everything else, and the crowd loves it. But you know
- 2:52Speaker 2: who doesn't love it? Everybody else. Like, Obama is a
- 2:55Speaker 2: star if you're in the room. But if you look
- 2:58Speaker 2: at his endorsement record, okay, Obama's presidential endorsements have clothed
- 3:03Speaker 2: half the people in Honduras. There's President Hillary hoodies. There's,
- 3:07Speaker 2: you know, Kamala Harris 2024 first email. We broke the
- 3:11Speaker 2: glass ceiling. It's all down there. They're walking around in
- 3:13Speaker 2: it right now. They're wearing Tampa Bay Rays World Series
- 3:16Speaker 2: championship outfits as we speak. That's what Obama does. Yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That's a good point. There would be photos of him
- 3:23Speaker 1: in the Cheesecake Factory if he'd ever been there. Totally.
- 3:28Speaker 1: You must experience this, though, with some of these, you know, Washington, D.C.,
- 3:34Speaker 1: Upper East Side, Southampton crowd. They've never been to real America.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They've never heard of the Olive Garden. They don't know
- 3:39Speaker 1: what it is. They think the Cheesecake Factory is a
- 3:42Speaker 1: little store that sells cheesecakes. They think that's all it is.
- 3:44Speaker 2: You know one of my favorite things, because you're right
- 3:49Speaker 2: about that. They don't travel, you know, what they consider
- 3:52Speaker 2: to be the flyover states. They're actually, you know, the
- 3:55Speaker 2: best states. You're never going to walk out the door
- 3:58Speaker 2: in Findlay, Ohio, and see some wizard with no pants on,
- 4:02Speaker 2: you know, sitting on a park bench like you might
- 4:04Speaker 2: here in New York. And they don't realize that those people, culture-wise,
- 4:08Speaker 2: have everything we do now. In the age of the internet,
- 4:10Speaker 2: everybody has the same restaurants. Everybody has the same stores.
- 4:13Speaker 2: It's all the same. But the most offensive thing New
- 4:16Speaker 2: York coastal elites ever did regarding the Cheesecake Factory is,
- 4:20Speaker 2: do you remember when Bloomberg started slapping calories on all
- 4:23Speaker 2: the menus? I was like, hey, Bloomberg, okay, nobody was
- 4:27Speaker 2: counting calories at a place called the Cheesecake Factory. It
- 4:32Speaker 2: was implied in the bargain that I might be eating
- 4:36Speaker 2: a little unhealthy tonight. Okay? I mean, come on, man.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I love the Cheesecake Factory, but like you.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Me too.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You look at the menu, I knew it was calories,
- 4:46Speaker 1: but sometimes like 3,800 calories on one entree. Who knew
- 4:50Speaker 1: it was that bad? But it's worth it, isn't it?
- 4:52Speaker 2: It's good stuff.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Guys like you, Hannity, you're different from people on MS
- 4:59Speaker 1: Now or CNN. They just live in the bubble. But
- 5:03Speaker 1: guys like you, Hannity, you travel the country. You've been
- 5:06Speaker 1: in a diner in Pittsburgh. You've been in an IHOP
- 5:09Speaker 1: in the middle of Nebraska. So it's an experience. None
- 5:13Speaker 1: of those Democrats have. They never talk to real people,
- 5:16Speaker 1: do they?
- 5:18Speaker 2: No, they don't even talk to their staff. They don't
- 5:20Speaker 2: even talk to their coworkers. Like, you know what's interesting
- 5:23Speaker 2: about Fox, okay? You can throw on Hannity at 9 o'clock,
- 5:27Speaker 2: and you might see a Fox & Friends host on
- 5:29Speaker 2: there as a guest, meaning a morning guest. You might
- 5:31Speaker 2: see a midday guest. We all do each other's shows.
- 5:34Speaker 2: There's a little more of a community here. You've never
- 5:36Speaker 2: turned on Morning Joe and seen Rachel Maddow on the panel.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That's true.
- 5:40Speaker 2: You know what I mean? You're never going to turn
- 5:42Speaker 2: on Rachel Maddow and see Mika Brzezinski doing a nighttime hit.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Because they all think they're the center of the universe,
- 5:48Speaker 2: and they hate everybody. So you can't imagine how they
- 5:52Speaker 2: feel about going out to Long Island to the Embassy
- 5:54Speaker 2: Diner and, you know, meeting Gus and one of the
- 5:57Speaker 2: guys over there serving you good Greek food. Oh, my God.
- 5:59Speaker 2: They don't want to meet Gus. These people are monsters. Monsters.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Jimmy Fallon, Ilan Omar. Now they find out this is
- 6:07Speaker 1: just breaking her real name, Dan Sullivan. So maybe she
- 6:10Speaker 1: could join.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Us, too.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You got me. Good job.
- 6:15Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 6:16Speaker 1: So, hey, this is Dan Sullivan. Trump is right. These
- 6:20Speaker 1: people should be arrested for this fraud, shouldn't they?
- 6:23Speaker 2: Totally. But I want to be up front with the audience.
- 6:26Speaker 2: We tried to do this in 2024. We wanted to
- 6:28Speaker 2: find another Kamala Harris, but we couldn't get into the
- 6:31Speaker 2: AA meetings. It was tricky. But yeah, no, it's a
- 6:35Speaker 2: definite scam. And my favorite thing about it is Every
- 6:38Speaker 2: Democrat has spent the last week telling us Trump's going
- 6:41Speaker 2: to interfere, he's going to send in ICE, they're going
- 6:43Speaker 2: to confiscate the ballots. They constantly accuse us of cheating
- 6:47Speaker 2: while they're actually cheating. They put two Dan Sullivans, and
- 6:51Speaker 2: I saw a girl on CNN last night, okay? She said- Well,
- 6:54Speaker 2: there's a history of this, because if you remember when
- 6:56Speaker 2: RFK was running against Biden, the Republicans supported RFK. I'm like,
- 7:01Speaker 2: but they have two different names. One is Joe Biden.
- 7:04Speaker 2: The other is RFK Jr. The only person who wouldn't
- 7:07Speaker 2: know the difference is Biden.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Now, apparently Republicans wanted to do it, but they couldn't
- 7:13Speaker 1: find a guy named Mohammed Abdul El-Sayed. It's not easy
- 7:16Speaker 1: to do.
- 7:19Speaker 2: That's too funny. You know, wouldn't it be easier at
- 7:22Speaker 2: this point if the media just did tell us, like,
- 7:25Speaker 2: which terror groups he doesn't have ties to? It's like
- 7:29Speaker 2: he collected them like Pokemon cards, man. You got to
- 7:31Speaker 2: catch them all. This is crazy.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, in New York, Bruce Blakeman looks very, in
- 7:38Speaker 1: the real polls, not the fake ones, the real polls,
- 7:40Speaker 1: it looks deadlocked. You think he can actually win?
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yes, he's on my show this weekend. He's going to
- 7:46Speaker 2: be on Saturday night. And, you know, let's hope, you know,
- 7:50Speaker 2: people actually tune in with an open mind, because if
- 7:53Speaker 2: you listen to him talk. You go like, oh, this
- 7:56Speaker 2: guy could actually lead the state. If you listen to
- 7:58Speaker 2: Kathy Hochul, you realize she's only governor because she was
- 8:01Speaker 2: the one chick in Albany that was too annoying for
- 8:03Speaker 2: Cuomo to hit on. She doesn't know what she's doing,
- 8:07Speaker 2: and she's like following Mom Donnie now. Now she wants to–
- 8:10Speaker 2: every tax, every dumb spending initiative because she wants to
- 8:13Speaker 2: be on the right side of Mom Donnie, which of
- 8:14Speaker 2: course for the state is the worst thing that could
- 8:16Speaker 2: possibly happen. So– Let's hope the Jimmy fail-a-bounce gets old
- 8:20Speaker 2: Brucie Blakeman over the finish line.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yeah, so watch him on Saturday night. It's a great
- 8:25Speaker 1: show every Saturday night at 10 o'clock. Uh, and can
- 8:28Speaker 1: people be in the audience? Can they get tickets? Are
- 8:29Speaker 1: there still some.
- 8:30Speaker 2: For tickets are always free. If you want to come
- 8:32Speaker 2: to a taping, we tape Friday night and the tickets
- 8:34Speaker 2: are free at Fox across America.com. Come down this weekend.
- 8:39Speaker 2: You'll see the governor. Uh, you can see a lot
- 8:41Speaker 2: of Fox people cause it's the midterm. So they send
- 8:42Speaker 2: the adults out. They won't, I can't have my comedy
- 8:45Speaker 2: buddies on the make balloon animals this weekend. It's going
- 8:47Speaker 2: to be a lot of adults, but it's going to
- 8:49Speaker 2: be a good show. We're fired up for it. We
- 8:50Speaker 2: can't wait. Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 1: It's a great free date. If you want to bring
- 8:53Speaker 1: somebody Friday evenings, but the tickets are free. Go to Foxacrossamerica.com.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And then the radio show is every weeknight, 9 to midnight.
- 9:02Speaker 1: But it's really funny. But how do you keep that
- 9:04Speaker 1: up for three hours? Non-stop jokes for three hours.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You know what, man, I'm just in it, you know,
- 9:11Speaker 2: and you got to remember this. I'm used to keeping
- 9:13Speaker 2: it up for 12 hours. I was a taxi driver.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And as a taxi driver, you got to be entertaining
- 9:17Speaker 2: for 12 hours or somebody's going to hit you in
- 9:19Speaker 2: the head with a thermos, you know, choke you out
- 9:21Speaker 2: on the West side highway. So for me, I'm working
- 9:24Speaker 2: like a thorough quarter of a shift right now. This
- 9:26Speaker 2: doesn't bother me at all.
- 9:28Speaker 1: When you were a taxi driver, didn't, weren't people a
- 9:29Speaker 1: little shocked? They get in the cab and they find
- 9:31Speaker 1: out you speak English and you got a real personality.
- 9:33Speaker 1: That's unusual.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Can I tell you something? People would like literally
- 9:38Speaker 2: like want to want you to like call their parents
- 9:40Speaker 2: and leave them a voicemail. Like you wouldn't believe what
- 9:42Speaker 2: I saw in New York city.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I'm not kidding.
- 9:45Speaker 2: So you're like your own little tourist attraction. You're right
- 9:48Speaker 2: about that.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Hey, the marathon is this Sunday. That is one of
- 9:52Speaker 1: the stupidest sports. I mean, I can see being a
- 9:55Speaker 1: great golfer, learning how to play tennis, but learning how
- 9:58Speaker 1: to run for 25 miles, where would you need this skill?
- 10:02Speaker 1: I mean, it's a strange thing.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Well, you know, the way... The way Mom Donnie's going
- 10:06Speaker 2: with the police, learning how to run might be a
- 10:08Speaker 2: good thing. Maybe not for 25 miles, but if you
- 10:12Speaker 2: could make it across the park in one piece, you'd
- 10:14Speaker 2: be an anomaly these days. We'll take that.
- 10:18Speaker 1: If Blakeman wins, he can kind of keep a lid
- 10:21Speaker 1: on some of the Mom Donnie nonsense. Also, it'd be
- 10:24Speaker 1: a great thing in this anti-Semitism world now to have
- 10:28Speaker 1: a Jewish governor, wouldn't it?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it's what we need, just because it's
- 10:34Speaker 2: What they're getting wrong, and there's really no politician who's
- 10:37Speaker 2: doing a perfect job of explaining this, is everybody on
- 10:41Speaker 2: the Mamdani side of this conflict is an idiot. Think
- 10:44Speaker 2: about right now, the people are yelling free Palestine. Gaza
- 10:49Speaker 2: is currently run by people who don't hold elections. OK,
- 10:54Speaker 2: so it's not Israel that's keeping them under wraps. It
- 10:57Speaker 2: is Hamas, the terror group, you idiots. I'm like, so
- 11:00Speaker 2: when you say free Palestine, you maybe want to follow
- 11:02Speaker 2: it up with from who? Is Israel in control of it?
- 11:05Speaker 2: You know, and maybe Blakeman could do that. And, you know,
- 11:07Speaker 2: I was not supposed to be the voice of reason
- 11:10Speaker 2: as a guy who went to Nassau Community College.
- 11:12Speaker 1: But here we are.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Two state solution. Didn't we just try that? Look how
- 11:16Speaker 1: it worked out. It wasn't so successful. So listen to
- 11:20Speaker 1: Jimmy Fallon tonight, 9 to midnight. What are you going
- 11:22Speaker 1: to be doing on tonight's show?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Well, because we're in that homestretch preview of the new
- 11:28Speaker 2: White House press secretary, you're probably going to hear Caroline
- 11:30Speaker 2: Sunshine and Anna Kelly, two people who were talked about
- 11:33Speaker 2: quite a bit as the next replacement for Katie Zachariah
- 11:38Speaker 2: and her mighty one-day tour de force. These girls got
- 11:40Speaker 2: big heels to fill. You better wish them luck.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's a good show tonight. Listen to Jimmy Fallon. Every weeknight.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I'm telling you, you're going to love the show. You're
- 11:49Speaker 1: going to get addicted to it every weeknight, 9 to
- 11:51Speaker 1: midnight here on WOR. Make sure you watch his TV shows,
- 11:56Speaker 1: the best late-night show on television, Saturday nights at 10,
- 12:00Speaker 1: Fox News Channel. Jimmy Faleth, thanks for being with us.
- 12:04Speaker 2: You're the best, Mark. See you. All right.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Take care. Hey, don't forget, coming up at noon, Buck Sexton,
- 12:10Speaker 1: Clay Travis. That's a great show every day. 3 o'clock,
- 12:13Speaker 1: you've got the most listened to radio show in America.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Sean Hannity, Jesse Kelly, 6 o'clock, and then, of course,
- 12:22Speaker 1: 9 o'clock, Jimmy Fallon, you just heard. That's all on 710WOR.
