- 0:06Speaker 2: Free World. And if you have to drive downtown today,
- 0:09Speaker 2: good luck in advance. Because of that whole Freedom two
- 0:13Speaker 2: point fifty race thing that's going on, they got a
- 0:15Speaker 2: lot of road closures. Just be ready. Now, that's not
- 0:19Speaker 2: to start the day on a bad note. It's ninety
- 0:21Speaker 2: seven point one. Wash up them, We're Toby and Chilly
- 0:23Speaker 2: in the morning. It's just a very important thing to
- 0:25Speaker 2: remember if you have to commute downtown. Now, what is
- 0:28Speaker 2: bringing you joy on this Friday morning? Why you're feeling
- 0:31Speaker 2: good before five o'clock in the morning. There Chillia Mark.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I got a text message yesterday afternoon for my neighbor saying, hey,
- 0:40Speaker 3: actually she didn't say Hey, She's at pool tomorrow. Question
- 0:43Speaker 3: Mark meeting today. Yeah, and so we're hoping that the
- 0:46Speaker 3: rain holds off so that we can enjoy some adult time.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I don't know what the weather's supposed to.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Be like later today, but there's a slight chance of
- 0:56Speaker 3: some issues.
- 0:56Speaker 4: But no.
- 0:57Speaker 3: The good news is what I love is she as
- 1:00Speaker 3: a normal job, unlike you and I. Huh, but she's
- 1:03Speaker 3: going to be taking some sort of break during her
- 1:07Speaker 3: work from home and go to the pool.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So we're gonna we're.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Gonna meet up with our yetties with mom Juice there
- 1:14Speaker 3: you go and hang out. Anyway, That's why I'm feeling good.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm feeling great today because you know how I
- 1:19Speaker 2: went to Warby Parker and got my eye exam because
- 1:22Speaker 2: you have to have your annual eye exam, and then
- 1:25Speaker 2: I got some new frames. Well they're on their way,
- 1:28Speaker 2: but they're being delivered in the most like the most
- 1:31Speaker 2: peculiar way. They're being delivered by door Dash and I
- 1:36Speaker 2: was kind of shocked by that notification. That would be
- 1:40Speaker 2: really yeah, I'm like, does that include meil, Like, because
- 1:42Speaker 2: if you're coming from downtown d C or over there,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I can tell you a few places you could stop.
- 1:47Speaker 2: But you know, it's just it's interesting because I was like, what,
- 1:51Speaker 2: but you know what? Nonetheless joy because it's on its
- 1:53Speaker 2: way and I thought it was going to be like
- 1:54Speaker 2: seven to ten days. They tell you two weeks, but
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think they over they underpromise and over deliver, you know,
- 2:01Speaker 2: and if DoorDash can deliver things like I don't know,
- 2:04Speaker 2: prescription eyeglasses. There's no limits. We'll never have to go
- 2:08Speaker 2: shopping again. Other than on the screen. We find ourselves
- 2:11Speaker 2: in front of technology. Why are you feeling good this morning?
- 2:14Speaker 2: Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one
- 2:17Speaker 2: is the number. Feel free to share with us what's
- 2:19Speaker 2: on your mind and why you're feeling good as we
- 2:22Speaker 2: get into this Friday. Top Stories at the top of
- 2:25Speaker 2: the hour. That's the news. Chilly, what's going on?
- 2:27Speaker 3: Looks like the tooth Fairy is giving kids a raise.
- 2:30Speaker 3: We'll be sharing the average going rate for a lost
- 2:33Speaker 3: tooth in just a few minutes.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Top Stories, top of the Hour.
- 2:39Speaker 3: The USS George Washington has arrived in the Middle East,
- 2:43Speaker 3: clearing the way for the USS Abraham Lincoln's San Diego
- 2:47Speaker 3: based crew to finally head home. For five thousand sailors
- 2:51Speaker 3: and marines left back in November, setting a modern record
- 2:54Speaker 3: for time at sea amid growing concerns over their mental health.
- 2:58Speaker 3: DC police are investigating a home invasion on Kalorama Road,
- 3:03Speaker 3: where a man entered a bedroom Wednesday morning and pinned
- 3:05Speaker 3: down a sleeping woman and tried to sexually assault her.
- 3:08Speaker 3: She ran to her siblings room and screamed for help.
- 3:11Speaker 3: While the intruder fled, recent rain has pulled the Potomac
- 3:16Speaker 3: Water Shed out of severe drought, down from twelve percent
- 3:20Speaker 3: a week ago to zero now, with river flows running
- 3:23Speaker 3: above average. However, the region is still under a drought watch.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Fairfax County's first new high school in decades, Skyview in Herndon,
- 3:34Speaker 3: opens Monday to about one thousand ninth and tenth graders.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Classrooms will be grouped in fourteen hangar pods, two cafeterias,
- 3:42Speaker 3: and the county's first indoor pool for lifeguard and pool
- 3:46Speaker 3: operator certification. And finally, loose teeth mean big business these days.
- 3:53Speaker 3: A new survey found that head of National Tooth Fairy
- 3:57Speaker 3: Day kids are now getting about five eighty four cents
- 4:02Speaker 3: per tooth. That's up from five dollars last year. Forecasts
- 4:07Speaker 3: four today partly glady, with the chance of a stray
- 4:09Speaker 3: shower later on highs around eighty two. Right now sixty
- 4:12Speaker 3: six in Poolsville.
- 4:13Speaker 2: And that's the news. Top stories at the top of
- 4:15Speaker 2: the hour here at ninety seven point one was Chef
- 4:18Speaker 2: m Mitoby and Chilly in the morning. Tell your friends
- 4:21Speaker 2: and stay close why because you might need something that
- 4:25Speaker 2: turns your morning around And since it's Friday and we're
- 4:28Speaker 2: getting into another best of the eighties and nineties weekend,
- 4:31Speaker 2: we've found a song that we think might help you
- 4:35Speaker 2: go through whatever you're going through today. So you can
- 4:37Speaker 2: get through it. Your Morning Mindset is on the way
- 4:40Speaker 2: in just a few ninety seven point one wash FM
- 4:44Speaker 2: on Friday, just in time for your Best of the
- 4:47Speaker 2: eighties and nineties weekend, here comes the Friday edition of
- 4:51Speaker 2: Your Morning Mindset.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well, which song have you chosen? Do you know
- 4:55Speaker 3: what year it was from? Because I know you like
- 4:57Speaker 3: to go with lyrics.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yes, nineteen ninety, so it's square right in the middle
- 5:02Speaker 2: of the best of the eighties and nineties. And you
- 5:05Speaker 2: might remember this song from a certain movie with Richard
- 5:08Speaker 2: Gear and Julia Robertson. It was called Pretty Woman. The
- 5:11Speaker 2: song is by the band Go West. It's called King
- 5:13Speaker 2: of Wishful Thinking. And the lyric specifically is I'll get
- 5:18Speaker 2: over you. I know I will. I'll get over you,
- 5:22Speaker 2: I know I will. And there's another lyric too, if
- 5:24Speaker 2: I don't listen to the talk of the town, then
- 5:26Speaker 2: maybe I can fool myself. So just the song itself
- 5:30Speaker 2: is inspirational. Give it a listen. If you get a
- 5:32Speaker 2: chance at some point in time today, but don't go
- 5:35Speaker 2: away from us. The song I think means and why
- 5:38Speaker 2: it's important to remember on a Friday. I don't know
- 5:41Speaker 2: what you've been going through personally, professionally, with your life,
- 5:44Speaker 2: with your family, but pretending you're fine is not the
- 5:47Speaker 2: same thing as healing. You know, one is pretending, the
- 5:52Speaker 2: other is actually getting through. And I think that's what
- 5:56Speaker 2: the message of that song is. Pretending that you're fine
- 5:59Speaker 2: is not the same thing as healing. But you know what,
- 6:02Speaker 2: if you look for healing, you'll find it. Keep that
- 6:05Speaker 2: in mind and enjoy. Go West King of wichall thinking
- 6:07Speaker 2: and enjoy all of the eighties and nineties you'll hear
- 6:09Speaker 2: starting at five o'clock today with ninety seven point one
- 6:13Speaker 2: WASHFM as we get into another weekend, and next with
- 6:17Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Now, at the beginning of the show, I said, I
- 6:19Speaker 3: was looking forward to going to the pool today. I
- 6:23Speaker 3: haven't been in any pool since our trip to Ocean
- 6:26Speaker 3: City because of something that I would say was a
- 6:30Speaker 3: bit traumatic that happened. Oh it'll all make sense, stick around,
- 6:38Speaker 3: Oh boy, all.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Right, spill it. What happened at the pool that has
- 6:42Speaker 2: you traumatized? Ninety seven point one wash CHEFM, Toby and
- 6:45Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning speak of Chili.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Over three weeks ago, when we were in Ocean City, Maryland,
- 6:50Speaker 3: we stayed at a condo that had a pool, thankfully
- 6:54Speaker 3: because the ocean had all the jellyfish in it. Sure
- 6:57Speaker 3: most of the people were hanging out at the pool.
- 6:59Speaker 3: One particular day, there was a mass exodus. People were
- 7:02Speaker 3: running out as if there was a shark in the
- 7:04Speaker 3: pool water. But it wasn't a shark, Toby.
- 7:06Speaker 4: No.
- 7:06Speaker 2: They dropped the kids off at the pool. We got
- 7:08Speaker 2: a floater.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yes, nobody had an accident, and they had to shut
- 7:13Speaker 3: it down to disinfect. But in all my life, that
- 7:16Speaker 3: is the first time something like that has ever happened,
- 7:20Speaker 3: and I can't get over the visual of that.
- 7:23Speaker 2: So I find that to be shocking. The first time
- 7:26Speaker 2: you've ever encountered that. I encountered that growing up, we
- 7:28Speaker 2: had community pools, and that seems to be a thing.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Although they did not shut the pool down for the
- 7:32Speaker 2: rest of the day, probably because back then they didn't
- 7:35Speaker 2: take things like I don't know diseases as seriously as
- 7:38Speaker 2: they do now.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I can't believe you've seen that many number twos floating
- 7:41Speaker 3: around in a pool that is not okay.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Well, those were the days before cyclospora, and it didn't
- 7:46Speaker 2: happen all the time, but it just sort of happened.
- 7:49Speaker 3: But it begs the question, right. I mean a lot
- 7:51Speaker 3: of people who listen to the show have been to
- 7:53Speaker 3: many pools in their life. What is the nastiest thing
- 7:56Speaker 3: you've ever come across?
- 7:57Speaker 2: And the number is eight six six nine two seven
- 8:00Speaker 2: three p sixty one. To jump into the conversation this morning,
- 8:04Speaker 2: what did you see? We'll start over here with you.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Good morning, Terry, Thank you so much for listening to us.
- 8:09Speaker 4: In Fairfax, I once saw a mysterious bandage floating across
- 8:14Speaker 4: the shallow end like it was on a mission, and
- 8:16Speaker 4: everyone noticed it, but everyone pretended not to and somehow
- 8:20Speaker 4: the lifeguard became the only person willing to deal with it.
- 8:23Speaker 3: What did you end up doing?
- 8:25Speaker 4: I got out of the pool so fast. Do you
- 8:26Speaker 4: think the bandage was chasing me?
- 8:28Speaker 2: You didn't know it was. It was Amanda. Hello there,
- 8:32Speaker 2: and thank you for listening to us this morning. In Rockville, I.
- 8:35Speaker 6: Watched the kids throw up in a public pool and
- 8:38Speaker 6: people just kept swimming because they hadn't noticed it yet.
- 8:41Speaker 2: How do you not notice something like that.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Because if you're not looking in that direction, you could
- 8:46Speaker 3: miss it. So what did you end up doing?
- 8:48Speaker 6: I got out immediately and haven't been able to look
- 8:51Speaker 6: at public pool the same way since.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I wouldn't let it ruin your entire public pool experience. Though,
- 8:59Speaker 2: thank you for the this morning. Got something to add.
- 9:02Speaker 2: You know where to find us. We're Toby and Chilly
- 9:03Speaker 2: in the morning. We've got top Stories. It's top the
- 9:05Speaker 2: hour on the way for you coming up, Chili, what's
- 9:07Speaker 2: going on?
- 9:08Speaker 3: They did a survey where they asked Americans about their
- 9:11Speaker 3: favorite British sayings. I will share the results in just
- 9:15Speaker 3: a few minutes.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Cheerios, Your coffee's writing shotgun. As you make your way
- 9:20Speaker 2: up ninety five north toward the district this morning ninety

- 9:35Speaker 3: Top Stories right around six ten this morning. You'll be
- 9:38Speaker 3: at CFG Bank Arena this November.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one WASHFM Washington, an iHeartRadio station, coming
- 9:46Speaker 1: up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 9:48Speaker 3: After nine months at seed, the USS Abraham Lincoln is
- 9:52Speaker 3: finally heading home. We've got the latest on that story
- 9:56Speaker 3: and others on the way with Toby and Chili in
- 9:58Speaker 3: the morning seven point one wash FM.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 10:06Speaker 3: After nine months at sea, the USS Abraham Lincoln is
- 10:09Speaker 3: finally heading home. The USS George Washington has arrived to
- 10:13Speaker 3: relieve the San Diego based carrier in the Middle East,
- 10:17Speaker 3: allowing its crew to return amid growing concerns over conditions
- 10:20Speaker 3: and sailors mental health aboard the ship. The Mariland mother
- 10:24Speaker 3: accused of killing her two missing children has pleaded not
- 10:27Speaker 3: guilty by reason of insanity. Catherine Hoggele entered the plea
- 10:32Speaker 3: in Montgomery County more than a decade after her kids disappeared.
- 10:37Speaker 3: The judge has now ordered another mental health evaluation. Montgomery
- 10:41Speaker 3: County is upgrading their red light cameras to also catch
- 10:45Speaker 3: speeders on green. It's called speed on Green. Drivers going
- 10:50Speaker 3: twelve plus miles over the speed limit gets sighted with
- 10:53Speaker 3: fines that grow the faster you're going. Two test cameras
- 10:57Speaker 3: are going to be going up at Colesville Road and
- 10:59Speaker 3: Georgia Avenue and Colesville and University Boulevard. Anne Arundel County
- 11:03Speaker 3: schools have amended their gender identity policy after a Justice
- 11:07Speaker 3: Department enforcement threat, now guaranteeing parents' access to their child's
- 11:13Speaker 3: full education record. It all follows a case where parents
- 11:16Speaker 3: said the district secretly facilitated their daughter's gender transition without
- 11:21Speaker 3: their consent. And a new survey reveals American's favorite British sayings.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Cheers tops the list, followed by brilliant and cheeky. A
- 11:33Speaker 3: third of those who were polled to say that hearing
- 11:35Speaker 3: a British accent just makes them smile, okay. Forecasts for
- 11:40Speaker 3: today partly cloudy skuides with a chance of a stray shower.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Highs around eighty two. Right now sixty six in Fairfax.
- 11:47Speaker 2: That's the news, Toby and chilly in the morning, it's
- 11:49Speaker 2: ninety seven point one. Wash up them where you get
- 11:51Speaker 2: your top stories at the top of the hour, and
- 11:53Speaker 2: you get Dave Matthew's Man tickets right now November cfg

- 12:00Speaker 2: it's more charmed city. If you're caller ten. The tickets
- 12:02Speaker 2: are handled Things to Live Nation at eight six six
- 12:05Speaker 2: nine two seven three sixty one. Caller ten, right now
- 12:09Speaker 2: the Dave Matthews band. You're going cheating and cheaters. Oooh,
- 12:16Speaker 2: that's got your attention. You slipped at the ratios? What futch?
- 12:20Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one, was chef? What is it
- 12:24Speaker 2: that people consider to be cheating in a relationship. Let's
- 12:29Speaker 2: get into it next. Let's talk about cheating eight six
- 12:34Speaker 2: sixty three sixty one. There's a list out. One in
- 12:37Speaker 2: seven Americans who are married or in a relationship admit
- 12:41Speaker 2: that they have romantic feelings for someone who is not
- 12:44Speaker 2: their partner. According to this research, dang is that cheating.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Here are some acts they say that count is cheating.
- 12:51Speaker 3: It's not as simple as you sleeping with somebody else
- 12:54Speaker 3: or kissing somebody else. Okay, there's a little gray area.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Number one is keeping an ongoing flo cirtatious text conversation
- 13:02Speaker 3: with somebody. Any type of flirtatious texting is not okay.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Talking with a person late into the night while hiding
- 13:08Speaker 3: it from your partner.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Anything you have to hide is probably chating.
- 13:11Speaker 4: To me.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Anytime the word secret comes into play, it's not good
- 13:15Speaker 3: maintaining your dating app profile, you know, just to look.
- 13:19Speaker 3: You're not really active, you're just looking.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not your fault. If the remnants of
- 13:23Speaker 2: your dating profile from when you were dating before you
- 13:27Speaker 2: got serious, it's not your fault if they're still out there,
- 13:29Speaker 2: And if they were to stumble across.
- 13:30Speaker 3: It, why if you just delete it? You should delete
- 13:32Speaker 3: the app?
- 13:32Speaker 2: Well, I mean you can, but that who has time
- 13:35Speaker 2: to worry about that when you're pursuing the love of
- 13:38Speaker 2: your life that you found by swiping? Maybe I don't all.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Right keeping somebody on your phone but using a fake
- 13:43Speaker 3: name for them. And then number five deleting messages so
- 13:45Speaker 3: your partner won't see them.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, well, those could be arguably things that are red flags.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I agree, But I think that on this list there's
- 13:53Speaker 2: a number eight having a secret friendship your partner doesn't
- 13:57Speaker 2: know about. I have friends that I don't think that
- 13:59Speaker 2: my partner knows about. If they're not a secret. I mean,
- 14:03Speaker 2: if she asked, I would be happy to tell them.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Well, but I'm talking about secret.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I don't know that I need to go home at
- 14:08Speaker 2: the end of the day and say hey, just so
- 14:09Speaker 2: you're okay, and confidence isn't rattled. I have a friend
- 14:13Speaker 2: that I've been talking with about different things and they're
- 14:16Speaker 2: a work friend, or they're a whatever friend, or they're
- 14:18Speaker 2: from the church. You know, it's like, okay, all right,
- 14:21Speaker 2: So that to me is kind of a reach. But
- 14:23Speaker 2: you think all of these are cheating?
- 14:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I think most of the things on the top
- 14:26Speaker 3: ten here I would be a little bit uncomfortable with.
- 14:29Speaker 3: I would certainly have a conversation with my husband if
- 14:32Speaker 3: these things were taking place.
- 14:34Speaker 2: If you want to see the list, we've got it
- 14:35Speaker 2: for you. Check out the toe a chilipage at washfm
- 14:37Speaker 2: dot com. And if you've got thoughts, tap that talk
- 14:39Speaker 2: back microphone and tell us do these acts count is
- 14:42Speaker 2: cheating to you? What is oftentimes an accusation of cheating
- 14:47Speaker 2: which isn't in your opinion? Would love to know your thoughts.
- 14:49Speaker 2: And next we're going to talk about addiction.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Matthew McConaughey did an interview where he talked
- 14:55Speaker 3: about the exact moment he realized he needed to quit
- 14:59Speaker 3: smoking weed. And we're gonna get to that in minutes.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Addiction has entered the chat. It's ninety seven point one
- 15:07Speaker 2: watch FM, Toby and Chilly in the morning. Not our
- 15:09Speaker 2: addictions per se, but the addictions.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Of one Matthew McConaughey. What is it that made you
- 15:16Speaker 3: quit an addiction? Eight sixty six ninety two seven four
- 15:19Speaker 3: three six' One matthew recently have, revealed and it's kind
- 15:22Speaker 3: of a funny story that he quit weed after he
- 15:27Speaker 3: listened To Janet jackson's Song that's The Way Love goes
- 15:31Speaker 3: twenty four times in a, row sitting in a car
- 15:34Speaker 3: and ended up missing his own birthday.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Party, well we must have been having quite the. MOMENT i,
- 15:38Speaker 2: mean that's a well produced. Song if your mind is
- 15:41Speaker 2: in the right, place you, know you start to notice
- 15:44Speaker 2: things about. It then you start to notice the. LYRICS
- 15:46Speaker 2: i can see how that might. Happen, okay if he
- 15:48Speaker 2: was sitting in the car doing a little hot box.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Action, THANKFULLY i haven't really struggled with that type of.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Addiction have you had to quit something that was really
- 15:56Speaker 3: not good for? You you?
- 15:57Speaker 4: Know?
- 15:58Speaker 2: Smoking it was. Horrible. MAN i didn't know you as a.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Smoker but WHEN i was, smoking AND i was given
- 16:04Speaker 2: an ultimatum by a then significant, other, SECOND i don't date,
- 16:07Speaker 2: Smokers and SO i got, home made an appointment with the,
- 16:10Speaker 2: doctor went and got some chantics and it helped me
- 16:13Speaker 2: to kick the.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Habit was it the ultimatum that made you quit smoking
- 16:18Speaker 3: being addicted or were we already hoping to do that?
- 16:20Speaker 2: ONE i was already hoping to do, it If i'm
- 16:23Speaker 2: being really honest about. It but the ultimatum did help
- 16:26Speaker 2: push me over the. Cliff, Sure and you know. WHAT
- 16:28Speaker 2: i ran into her recently AND i, said you know,
- 16:30Speaker 2: WHAT i never thanked you for, that because NOW i
- 16:34Speaker 2: have my lungs. Back you, know your lungs start to
- 16:36Speaker 2: heal themselves when you kick a habit like, that and
- 16:38Speaker 2: it's not easy to. Do so if you're going through,
- 16:41Speaker 2: IT i feel. You i've been. There eight sixty six
