- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, you know my clothesing remarks today, It's just a commentary.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I guess. I just want to share a couple of
- 0:07Speaker 1: personal viewpoints that I have, and these are just my opinions.
- 0:13Speaker 1: You're free to have your own, You're free to disagree
- 0:16Speaker 1: with anything I'm saying. I just have a few random thoughts.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I guessed that I just wanted to say. You know,
- 0:23Speaker 1: I've been in this country my entire life. I grew
- 0:28Speaker 1: up as a child in the sixties. I grew up
- 0:33Speaker 1: in Wels, West Virginia and Cleveland, Ohio. I've seen colors only,
- 0:37Speaker 1: water fountains, bathrooms, segregation. I saw that that wasn't even bussing.
- 0:46Speaker 1: When I was in school, we were purely just segregated.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You went to school in your neighborhood, you ain't go
- 0:54Speaker 1: in certain boundaries everything. I've watched this country evolve over
- 0:58Speaker 1: the years, and I've watch this country stay the same
- 1:02Speaker 1: over the years. I watched our previous presidential election, and
- 1:06Speaker 1: the main compound from our main campaign promise from our
- 1:11Speaker 1: president was to make America great again. I said it
- 1:16Speaker 1: from the very beginning. That's a dangerous slogan because if
- 1:20Speaker 1: you're asking me and telling me that you want to
- 1:22Speaker 1: make America great again, you're assuming that it's not the
- 1:26Speaker 1: way you want it to be, and you want to
- 1:28Speaker 1: take it back to a place and time in history.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And as I reflect back on my place in time
- 1:36Speaker 1: and history, I can't remember when it was better for me.
- 1:40Speaker 1: This is as good as it's ever been for me.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And it still has so many holes in this constitution,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and so many bullet holes shot in that flag, so
- 1:52Speaker 1: many tags and rips in it. And it's just been
- 1:55Speaker 1: hard to watch the senseless murders of black people in
- 2:01Speaker 1: this country at the hands of police officers. It's been
- 2:05Speaker 1: difficult to watch. It's been difficult to be a part of.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It's been difficult raising my sons, to teach them how
- 2:13Speaker 1: to act when they pulled over so I can get
- 2:15Speaker 1: my sons back home. It's been challenging to get my
- 2:19Speaker 1: sons not to wear hoodies. It's been challenging watching civilians
- 2:25Speaker 1: kill black people with no consequences. George's Zimmermann lied. I'm
- 2:31Speaker 1: talking about openly lied and believed it. It's been tough, man,
- 2:37Speaker 1: it's been tough. And then to listen to somebody say
- 2:40Speaker 1: let's make America great again and have to deal with
- 2:43Speaker 1: where we are today. This is a sad, sad place.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We don't have a democracy anymore. We live in where
- 2:52Speaker 1: where we have a leader of our country who refuses
- 2:56Speaker 1: to say anything to unify us as a people. Just
- 3:00Speaker 1: say something, presidential, man, your opinion, keep it to yourself. Sometimes.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I know I'm gonna get in trouble for saying this,
- 3:07Speaker 1: but I'm gonna say it anyway, and then boom, here
- 3:09Speaker 1: we go some more dissension. I have watched the rise
- 3:13Speaker 1: of white supremacist groups in this country since this man
- 3:17Speaker 1: has been in office, because they feel as though one
- 3:20Speaker 1: of us is finally in and we're free and able
- 3:23Speaker 1: to say more. I've never said. I've always known it
- 3:26Speaker 1: was racism, y'all, please understand I have, but the openness
- 3:30Speaker 1: of it now is blatant, shameless. I applaud the number
- 3:36Speaker 1: of non blacks that I see on Instagram still holding true.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I watched this one man that just made me laugh
- 3:43Speaker 1: the other day. His whole thing was, why don't we
- 3:45Speaker 1: just leave black people alone? And then there are non
- 3:49Speaker 1: blacks who actually know the history, you know, why don't
- 3:53Speaker 1: y'all get y'allself together? And this one lady said, well,
- 3:56Speaker 1: every time they try, y'all go and get it down.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Why don't y'all do something positive, every positive movement, our
- 4:04Speaker 1: own wall street, our own towns and villages, they burned
- 4:08Speaker 1: them down to the ground. And now you want to
- 4:11Speaker 1: hide that in the history books as this it never existed.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I'm tired, man, I really am. I'm just exhausted. I'm exhausted,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you know what. I'm exhausted from asking everybody to just
- 4:24Speaker 1: treat us equal, not better. I watched people say lately
- 4:31Speaker 1: that the Civil Rights Act was wrong, it should have
- 4:35Speaker 1: never happened. Do you know what Civil Rights Act all
- 4:40Speaker 1: it was saying? It just asked America to treat us civil.
- 4:46Speaker 1: This ain't the better acts right, to give us more
- 4:49Speaker 1: acts right. It was simply a civil right. All black
- 4:53Speaker 1: people want is to be treated civil, just civil. You
- 4:58Speaker 1: ain't got to give me no extra gott to open
- 5:00Speaker 1: up no door. But let me say this one more thing,
- 5:04Speaker 1: because like I said, I got a bunch of random thoughts.
- 5:07Speaker 1: If you get on a plane and you see a
- 5:10Speaker 1: black pilot, here's what you should do. Look at him, smile,
- 5:16Speaker 1: Go take a seat, put on your seat belt, get
- 5:19Speaker 1: your iPad out, and start playing your self games because
- 5:22Speaker 1: you are in the safest hands you could possibly be in.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Because let me tell you something you're wondering. If he qualified,
- 5:30Speaker 1: he's had to do ten times what the requirements are
- 5:34Speaker 1: for him to be in that pool, to be up
- 5:36Speaker 1: in that cockpit. So sit your sit in your chair
- 5:39Speaker 1: and enjoy your flight because you got an overqualified person
- 5:43Speaker 1: up there in that seat. That next time you see
- 5:45Speaker 1: a black pilot on the plane, put your hands together
- 5:48Speaker 1: for it and go sit you down and enjoy your
- 5:50Speaker 1: very safe flight because the ain't not now one of
- 5:53Speaker 1: them took a plane down. In the history of aviation
- 5:57Speaker 1: that go all the way back to the Tuskegee Airmen,
- 5:59Speaker 1: put dead into books too ye. For all Steve Harvey contests,
