Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
0:03
Epstein Chronicles. When it comes to people that enabled Jeffrey Epstein,
0:09
there's one sector of life that outpaced every other. And
0:14
that sector, of course, is none other than the financial sector.
0:18
And that's not speculation, that's not diperbole. All you have
0:22
to do is follow along with the history of the story.
0:24
How many of these institutions continue to work with them
0:28
even after he was convicted, even after everybody was hit
0:31
to the kind of monster that he was. Well, I'll
0:35
tell you all of them. None of them took a
0:39
look at what was going on and said, you know what,
0:41
let's cut ties. This guy's is sick to generate. We
0:43
don't need his business. It's time for us to move on.
0:47
Did that occur in any respect, No, of course it didn't. Instead,
0:52
they doubled down. And if you're really looking for a
0:55
villain when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein in his crimes,
0:59
that villain is the financial sector as a whole, because
1:03
without them, none of this happens. Today's article was published
1:08
by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists headline Fidelity opened
1:13
account for Epstein even as outrage grew This article was
1:18
authored by Spencer Woodman. Investment giant Fidelity opened a brokerage
1:25
account for Jeffrey Epstein months before his twenty nineteen arrest.
1:29
According to a document reviewed by the International Consortium of
1:33
Investigative Journalists, the account took in millions of dollars as
1:37
Epstein publicly faced intense renewed scrutiny. According to the record, well,
1:42
of course they did. The only crime to them is
1:46
being broke. That's it. You could hurt children, you can
1:49
be an arms trafficker, you can be a cartel boss.
1:53
They don't care. But you better not be broke. The
1:59
new details about it Epstein's finances, contained in data briefly
2:02
published by the United States Justice Department and later removed.
2:06
Add Fidelity Investments, a firm with trillions of dollars in
2:10
assets under management, to a list of financial institutions that
2:14
moved large sums of money for Epstein. And if you
2:17
haven't figured it out yet, the whole entire financial systems
2:20
implicated when it comes to Epstein. And that's why I
2:24
tell you all the time, all that other shits of distraction,
2:27
all those other bad guys, those boogeymen, they're just a tool.
2:32
The people that are wielding those tools, they're these people,
2:36
the people in the financial sector, and not your local banker.
2:40
I'm talking about the just Dalias of the world, the
2:43
merry Erdos of the world, and whoever the fuck was
2:46
over at Fidelity processing Epstein's accounts. Those are the people
2:50
I'm talking about, and those are the people that facilitate
2:55
this kind of shit on a regular basis. What you
2:57
think Epstein's the only one opened the account in mid
3:01
April twenty nineteen, and it received more than five million
3:04
dollars by the time Fidelity apparently moved to close it
3:08
in late May of that year, several weeks before Epstein's
3:11
arrest on sex trafficking charges. According to the document, were
3:15
they tipped off? Why were they all of a sudden
3:18
worried about Jeffrey Epstein and his business? Did somebody tell them, hey,
3:22
look something's on the way, you better clean up your books.
3:26
I don't know, but when it comes to the financial sector,
3:30
I don't trust a dawn word they say, sorry, not
3:32
a word. Deborah la Provote, a former FBI agent specializing
3:37
in corruption and financial crime, said that the significant public
3:41
development relating to the Epstein case should have been enough
3:44
that Fidelity did not want Epstein as a client. I mean,
3:48
that's what you would think. All you have to do
3:50
is turn the news on. But no, it's all about money.
3:54
And if Epstein can bring more money in, so much
3:57
the better. How's my bonus going to? Look what you
4:01
think I care about some girl from Palm Beach who's
4:03
been abused. I got a new Rolls Royce to buy, buddy.
4:06
Fuck off. In late twenty eighteen, a Miami Herald series
4:11
that identified more than sixty alleged victims of the disgraced
4:15
financier ignited new interest in outrage around the Epstein case.
4:19
The following February, a federal judge ruled that the Justice
4:23
Department's involvement in a lenient plea deal with Epstein in
4:26
two thousand and eight had violated the law, and the
4:30
Department opened an inquiry into its handling of the case. Yeah,
4:33
they investigated itself. Let's just bring in the OIG and
4:39
have them whitewash what we did. And look, folks, you
4:43
see why they couldn't rico This everything's connected. If they
4:47
hit Epstein with RICO, the whole entire financial industry would
4:50
have been indicted. Can't have that now, can we? You know?
4:53
Too big to fail? Right, That's the bullshit they were
4:56
serving us as they were giving them a bell out,
5:00
making everybody else around the country poor, but making sure
5:03
the banks well, making sure they were Okay, you guys
5:07
hip to what's going on here? Yet? And do you notice,
5:11
no matter what the disaster is, there's one industry that
5:14
comes out smelling like roses. That's right, the financial industry.
5:22
Fidelity did not respond to request for comment. The revelations
5:26
come from a Fidelity record that the Justice Department briefly
5:29
published in late January as part of its congressionally mandated
5:32
disclosure of the Epstein case files. The Justice Department subsequently
5:37
withdrew the file and replaced it with a fully blacked
5:40
out version. Although ICIJ retained a copy of the originally
5:45
released file, the Justice Department did not respond to questions
5:49
on why it withdrew the document because it gives people
5:52
that look, and the Justice Departments fully aware of how
5:57
bananas people would go if they under stood just how
6:01
deeply entwined Epstein was with our financial system. People don't
6:06
want to accept it for what it is, but I'm
6:09
here to tell you all of us, every last one
6:11
of us, is enslaved by these people. Oh, it's not
6:14
the slavery you're used to. You're able to do whatever
6:17
you want, basically right. But who do you think holds
6:20
all the cards, who prints the money, who holds the power?
6:25
Breaking news? Not you. Fidelity is the world's third largest
6:29
asset manager, overseeing more than eighteen trillion across a range
6:33
of services including vast online brokerage and retirement accounts. Although
6:38
the firm may be best known for its retail offerings,
6:41
it also houses a private wealth practice that offers concierge
6:45
services to clients able to invest multiple millions with the firm.
6:50
These services include liaising with outside accountants and attorneys for
6:55
wealthy clients. Just what, Epstein you needed? Huh more access
6:58
to dirty markets? Meanwhile, these same banks want to know
7:02
why you want to take your own money out of
7:03
your account. But yet Epstein could take out hundreds of
7:08
thousands without ever getting hit with a suspicious activity report.
7:13
Make it make sense. Epstein's Fidelity account was disclosed in
7:18
a suspicious activity report, which financial firms are required to
7:21
file with the US Treasury Department. These reports can be
7:25
triggered by a variety of factors and are generally considered
7:28
highly confidential. Fidelity filed THESAR on July nineteenth, twenty nineteen.
7:35
The Fidelity account was registered in the name of Epstein's
7:38
Virgin Islands based Southern Trust Company, a key money moving
7:42
vehicle for the financier. Fidelity listed Epstein and his then
7:46
accountant as individuals authorized to execute transactions. So it's all connected.
7:52
And if they would have got them mon Rico Epstein
7:54
would have just implicated the whole financial system. And this
7:57
is what I've been trying to pound a way to
7:59
you guys for years. This is the meat and the potatoes,
8:02
and this is the blueprint if we want to hold
8:04
these people accountable. The brokerage giant Charles Swab, a Fidelity competitor,
8:09
also opened accounts for Epstein's companies in April twenty nineteen,
8:13
according to Reuters and oversaw the movement of more than
8:17
twenty million dollars. Schwab also filed a suspicious activity report
8:22
after Epstein's arrest. After his arrest, talk about CYA, where
8:27
were those reports when he was actively trafficking people and
8:30
stealing from everybody on earth? JP Morgan had financial dealings
8:38
with Ebstein for years before cutting formal ties with them
8:42
around twenty thirteen. Deutsche Bank then took on Epstein as
8:45
a client, reportedly moving large sums through his accounts until
8:49
twenty nineteen. Victims of Epstein have secured settlements of two
8:53
hundred and ninety million dollars from JP Morgan and seventy
8:56
five million from Deutsche Bank, and still not enough. Should
9:01
be more. And think about this for a minute. Okay,
9:03
Leon Black paid the USVII sixty two and a half million,
9:07
almost as much as Deutsche Bank paid out in total
9:10
to the survivors. And tell me Leon Black wasn't up
9:14
to know good. This man has paid his way out
9:17
of everything, and nobody wants to talk about that, or
9:20
about how corrupt the USVII is in general. And I'll
9:24
stand on that business. I know people don't want to
9:27
hear it, but it's the truth. The USVII, they helped
9:31
abuse those girls. I've said it from the start and
9:34
I'll continue to say it now. Not the people of
9:38
the USVII, obviously, but the elected officials at the time,
9:42
people like Stacy Plaskett, people like mister DeJong, all these
9:48
people that were in these positions of power that were
9:50
helping Epstein along the way. They're all culpable, in my opinion,
9:54
in one way or the other. Maybe not, you know,
9:56
as an abuser, but certainly as an enabler, and the
10:00
fact that the USBI benefited the way they did has
10:03
never sat right with me. According to the Suspicious Activity Report,
10:08
Epstein's company opened a corporate account with Fidelity on April twelfth,
10:13
twenty nineteen. This happened as Deutsche Bank was phasing him
10:17
out as a client. The Fidelity record states that Epstein's
10:21
company used Deutsche Bank to wire the new brokerage five
10:24
million dollars On May thirtieth, twenty nineteen. Fidelity appears to
10:29
have restricted the Epstein account to closing transactions only. The
10:33
star does not indicate why the restriction was put in place.
10:36
In the days that followed, the account sent several large
10:39
wire transfers totaling four point eight million dollars two accounts
10:43
at two Puerto Rican banks, Banco Popular the Puerto Rico
10:48
and First Bank Puerto Rico. And a lot of that
10:51
has to do with taxes offshore in that dough so
10:53
he doesn't have to pay on it. Those banks did
10:55
not respond to requests for comment. The account also contained
10:59
two security that were transferred to an account at the
11:02
Connecticut based trading firm Interactive Brokers three days before Epstein's
11:07
July sixth the rest according to the Fidelity document, the
11:11
suspicious Activity report does not say how much those securities
11:14
were worth. Interactive Brokers did not respond to a request
11:18
for comment by the time Fidelity filed the report to
11:21
US authorities. In the days following Epstein's arrest, the account
11:25
appears to have been emptied. Well where did it go?
11:29
Who has that money? Who's responsible for it? Whose bed
11:34
is it stashed under? Because I'll tell you who didn't
11:36
get any of it? The survivor is that too? And
11:40
when we talk about Epstein's fortune and I say a
11:42
lot of it is undiscovered or undeclared, this is what
11:45
I mean. How many accounts are out there that we
11:47
just don't know about, under different names, under you know,
11:51
fictitious companies, whatever. My guess is a whole lot. And
11:55
if you're wondering why they're so reticent to dig into
11:58
the financial aspect of this, this is why. Because it's
12:01
all connected, all these banks, all these brokerage firms, everybody
12:06
that was doing business with Epstein. They were all engaging
12:09
and helping along and enabling his criminal enterprise under the
12:14
rules of RICO anyway, So if you're looking for a
12:16
reason why they never used RICO, look no further. That
12:20
reason is right here, all right, folks, that's gonna do
12:24
it for this one. All the information that goes with
