- 0:04The Ron page 286 and my son shut in.
- 0:10So he was talking about this concept of pretty shoot, pretty
- 0:14shoot, this pretty strong idea. And it means a person can he use
- 0:20to abstaining, holding back from this indulging everything.
- 0:24Again, everything we're talking about totally electably allowed,
- 0:28but maybe they're over indulging and they lead to a person
- 0:32having, you know, being spoiled. They lead us becoming too
- 0:36dependent on physical material things.
- 0:38They lead to all problems. He says at first he has to
- 0:41therefore hold back. But then he says at the same
- 0:45time, which we'll read now, but overdoing this concept is very
- 0:50dangerous, overdoing being a paroush, which means a person
- 0:54says himself, I'm not going to eat that much.
- 0:57I'm not going to drink that much.
- 0:59I can't enjoy anything in life without to be a Porsche.
- 1:02If you overdo it, it's destructive, it backfires and
- 1:07it's against the right concept. That's if any words inside the
- 1:15way of the fools people who overdo it.
- 1:27They hold back for themselves what's necessary to live via
- 1:32Sukufam and they pain themselves be a serene giving themselves
- 1:39unnecessary difficulty on page 286 with dividing Zarim a Shiloh
- 1:43Hafiz behem Hashem call. They pain themselves doing
- 1:47things to themselves that are totally not necessary and is
- 1:51that OK? Is that a luckily proper for a
- 1:53person to hold back from enjoying life because he wants
- 1:58to be a person that's Portish. Is it the right thing for a
- 2:01person? Say, you know what?
- 2:03Because I want to be a person with abstains.
- 2:05I want to keep moussar. So I'm not going to eat a lot.
- 2:07I'm not going to eat enough. You did that.
- 2:10He was very poorly. That's because he didn't have
- 2:13the money. But is it the right thing for a
- 2:16person to hold back Messiah shame.
- 2:19We shouldn't tell you right here.
- 2:19This is the rabbi who is the main author of Moussar and he's
- 2:24going to tell you to overdo it is wrong to over control
- 2:29yourself, is not proud, is not proper for a person to paint
- 2:39himself. That's the other person who's
- 2:42not willing to take said they give you an example like that.
- 2:46Why? Because he wants to say I'm not
- 2:47going to take, I don't take. He's killing himself, the
- 2:56shamash Chinatati bhai Kyota Hashem says if I gave you the
- 3:00soul, I want you to provide for her properly.
- 3:03I wanted to enjoy this earth. I wanted to have a good life.
- 3:07Even though you need to have moussard, it doesn't mean you
- 3:09need to paying yourself. Call ayoshi betanit.
- 3:13If a person puts himself into constant, constant fast, nuclear
- 3:21hotel, is he a good guy or a bad guy?
- 3:23Always fasting. He's a bad person.
- 3:26He's a Sinner. Why is he a Sinner?
- 3:29He's trying to be Zaheer. He's trying to be in control.
- 3:32He's trying to limit himself. And the answer is because that
- 3:35is not the right way of doing things.
- 3:37The right way of doing things, even according to Al Wata, even
- 3:40if you're following Wahsad probably is to be in control,
- 3:45but not overdo it. All right.
- 3:47This is the the job that we have in front of us, which is that a
- 3:49person should be pawesh, a person should be in control.
- 3:53A person should be limiting himself.
- 3:55Don't allow yourself to spoil or no.
- 3:57Don't overdo it. Do we all accept that?
- 4:00Then you agree with it? Do you have the concept?
- 4:03OK, so my question is, this is obvious.
- 4:07My question is why would anyone think otherwise?
- 4:11What? Why would anyone think that?
- 4:14According to Alatura, you be Portish.
- 4:18You should abstain to a level that pains you, to a level
- 4:24they're not going to enjoy this earth, to a level that you're
- 4:27going to starve yourself or anyone think that because you
- 4:29think if you have a humble light, you're going to be closer
- 4:31to Hashanah. OK, here's the thing.
- 4:33Exactly. So I think, let me give you a
- 4:37story and I don't want to disparage anybody.
- 4:40I tell you this story, you're not going to figure out what it
- 4:43is. But to me it happened last week.
- 4:45I told you off the record last week.
- 4:47It was wild. I probably will repeat this
- 4:50story at one point and work on sometime because it was a mind
- 4:54blowing incident. So last week, one of the days of
- 5:00the week, it was actually a day I had a baby.
- 5:01OK so Wednesday I had a baby and the days all over it was a very
- 5:07beautiful day but it was also very tiring day because Tuesday
- 5:10night I went into the hospital and we were told to come in.
- 5:14Tuesday night we came in. There was no proper appointment
- 5:19so we were staying up. My wife and I, my mother-in-law
- 5:22staying up in the waiting room. Actually, I should be honest,
- 5:26they stayed up. I, I was able to sleep.
- 5:30I could sleep on a chair. I slept on 2 chairs for a few
- 5:33hours, but it's still not the greatest sleep.
- 5:35OK, the appointment really got started at 6:00 in the morning.
- 5:39We got there, got in at 1. The appointment got started at
- 5:41six. Then it took a few hours of
- 5:44Labor and everything. They had the baby sometime in
- 5:47the afternoon. Yes, it was a tiring day.
- 5:51And now finally, at the end of the day, I'm praying I'll be, I
- 5:55don't want to give away exactly where I was praying.
- 5:57I'll be, I'm praying, I'll be I come into this shul to prayer,
- 6:01I'll be tired. I have the band on my hand,
- 6:03thank God, the whole scene, and I'm very tired.
- 6:07I woke in now my phone, my flip phone was on ringer because I
- 6:12never keep my phone on ringer. It was on ringer because
- 6:14obviously phone calls during that time.
- 6:16As you can imagine, it's important during the whole month
- 6:20of of of you know, the due date month, the night month, I'm not
- 6:24that good with being cold, but the day of due date itself,
- 6:27pretty much that day, I put my phone on ringer.
- 6:30So my phone was on ringer. While I'm praying our beat, I
- 6:33walk into a shoe. The shoe was packed so I I
- 6:37couldn't find. I usually like to pray in the
- 6:38back of a shoe. All right, I prayed in the
- 6:41middle of the shoe. The shoe was packed during that
- 6:45let me die of our beat. My phone starts to ring.
- 6:49OK all right now I'm fumbling for my phone.
- 6:53Try to catch it, try to get the thing to stop it from ringing.
- 6:56Click on the side, stop it from ringing.
- 6:58It was an individual that stood pretty much in the front of the
- 7:01room. Here's the ringing starts to
- 7:05bang. Now I cannot over emphasize the
- 7:09banging. The first bang was boom boom
- 7:14boom loud, slow. I start to sweat.
- 7:19I'm reaching off my phone trying to catch it.
- 7:21It was the most embarrassing thing.
- 7:23OK, I finally get it. Fine, I'm good.
- 7:27And the way it works with the flip phones is after you turn
- 7:30into a missed call, because you click it off, you get another
- 7:34message. Basically it says missed call.
- 7:37Now there's another beep, a loud one.
- 7:40The person in front of the room, now, he banks, he bangs now, no
- 7:45exaggeration, at least 10 times. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 7:51Loud, booming. No one prayed.
- 7:54Trust me, no one prayed on it. OK, then.
- 7:57Now, after a person calls you, after a person calls you, and
- 8:02then they get a missed call, what do they know how to do?
- 8:04They send you a text. He sent me a text, a beep.
- 8:09I still can't catch my phone, by the way.
- 8:12Maybe 20 banks. OK, I stood there.
- 8:16I was white like a ghost. I was as embarrassed as it gets.
- 8:20I waited to the end of rain. I walked out the side door, ran
- 8:24out of the building and that was it.
- 8:26OK, man, look down without a building.
- 8:27That was it. It was embarrassing thing.
- 8:30Probably one of the most embarrassing.
- 8:32I'm not saying anything. I gave away anything.
- 8:34Here's my thought. This is the thought I am.
- 8:37Where is this person who probably thinks that he's a
- 8:41rational person get in his mind. He should bang.
- 8:46It was it was a quiet fuss. Was that where do you get mine
- 8:49that you should bang all these times and people are probably
- 8:51you think he's representing us him.
- 8:53He first of all, nobody prayed. Trust me, don't worry.
- 8:56Second of all, the Bouchard that you gave a person is beyond.
- 9:01I am not exaggerating the slaves, the beyond.
- 9:04There you go. I'm good think it's me.
- 9:06He's the one that shit. He should be ashamed.
- 9:09You don't know maybe yesterday he gave a speech there about the
- 9:12phone. I'm sure I'm sore.
- 9:14You don't know the circumstances.
- 9:15I do the second because his anger is more annoying than I'm
- 9:18sure that he this is his. This is his mission of light
- 9:21things happen. Is he what you only have in
- 9:23life? Oh, so my point is this it gets
- 9:25back to that point. My point is is that he took a
- 9:28concept which is a fair concept. No phone ringing in show is very
- 9:34annoying. It does disrupt the FILA.
- 9:36He took the concept and what happened is he went down the
- 9:40road of Mossad or whatever it is, but he didn't think it
- 9:43through. Which means he didn't pull the
- 9:46full mind behind his actions. He processed it.
- 9:51He said OK phone the shul bag. Good I got it.
- 9:56One 1 + 1 = 2. I agree 100%.
- 10:00But he didn't think it through. Which means let's process this.
- 10:04Let's think about the fact that there are kids in the room or
- 10:06looking at a grown man watching fumble for his phone and they're
- 10:11kind of smirky. Let's think about the fact that
- 10:13this unbelievable bushaw. I think about the fact you don't
- 10:16know who it is and he's not seeing me.
- 10:19I could have been arrested, Shiva.
- 10:20I could have been someone who's more important than him.
- 10:22Who knows, who could have been. All right, I think all these
- 10:25things through. Let's think about next time.
- 10:28I was thinking about the president.
- 10:29You said all these different things.
- 10:31He didn't think it through. He took an idea and he was
- 10:35reactionary. And when I was telling you right
- 10:37here is the same exact thing, which is in life, you have to be
- 10:42thoughtful, you have to process, you have to deliberate.
- 10:46You have to work things out. I have to make sure all the
- 10:50variables are figured out every single way.
- 10:54Huh. You didn't speak to me.
- 10:56No, I did not. You didn't.
- 10:57When I did, it snuck out the door.
- 11:00It was to speak to me on the baby of the shirt.
- 11:04I didn't say what they told me to do what they say.
- 11:05When you get embarrassed, make a prayer.
- 11:08I walked out. I said to feel out.
- 11:09That's it. All right.
- 11:10Got a lot. Uh huh.
- 11:12We got out. Is that and the very, very
- 11:14strong thing. We're not.
- 11:15And by the way, in every other area, he seems like an old
- 11:18person. I've seen it before so I'm
- 11:19surprised, but I really believe this is the mindset lack of an
- 11:24understanding. Better not to confront them.
- 11:25He just walk away. That time, if I would confront
- 11:28them, I would have been upset, man.
- 11:29Yeah, I would have told them all the lines.
- 11:30I have all the lines, the back and pocket, you know, all the
- 11:34classic lines. You embarrass a person this time
- 11:36the other thing say it for later.
- 11:37The extreme. My point is he didn't think he
- 11:40thought it halfway through. He had an idea he didn't
- 11:44process. Besides him is telling you the
- 11:45exact same thing. This is the book of Mossad.
- 11:48The book of Mossad is telling you you have to be a person
- 11:51who's in control of yourself, a person who limits yourself, a
- 11:54person who watches what you do and don't overdose.
- 11:56But at the same time he's telling you don't overdo it.
- 12:00Don't be a person who lets it go and says, you know what, if he
- 12:03told me to control myself, I'm going to pain myself.
- 12:06No, deliberate everything I see worked out.
- 12:09And even in these examples where he's telling you and his
- 12:11examples to control yourself and he's telling you to be a person
- 12:16who has moussard, you don't pain your family.
- 12:19You don't make it difficult on yourself because of moussard.
- 12:22You do it in a thoughtful, mindful, processed, deliberated
- 12:29way. The people who are reactionary
- 12:31or the people who have problems, the people who take half of
- 12:34Hashem's message are the people who really can create major
- 12:38problems. That's where you have to take
- 12:39Hashem's full message. Hashem's messages.
- 12:42Yeah, No phones for sure. No noise is sure, but I sent a
- 12:45message all series. Be a nice person, be a kind
- 12:48person, be a fully worked on person.
- 12:50Everything in life has to be deliberated, has to be worked
- 12:54out. And if you work things out, I
- 12:57shall be with you. I'll give you one other story
- 13:00and then we'll close. What happens with the the guys
- 13:03that do hot saw and they're in the show?
- 13:06Yeah, that's different. That's the hair.
- 13:09Get a mud razza hat saw. Say again.
- 13:11Everybody knows that hat saw. Hat Saw is different and they
- 13:14have to do it and they really try.
- 13:16They have a lot of talk about trying to keep her quiet and
- 13:19trying to be low key and trying to hide certain things.
- 13:21They try. All right, that's a fairpoint
- 13:25now. No other stories, these fellows.
- 13:28So we had a baby and we gave her two names.
- 13:32Why two names? Not a two name guy.
- 13:35I'm not a fan of so much of giving me two names.
- 13:37Why two names? So I wanted all alone.
- 13:42When the baby was born. I wanted to give some sort of
- 13:44token to my father passing away. I wanted to relate to father
- 13:48passing away. OK, now father's.
- 13:51I already have a son as my father's name, and this is a
- 13:55girl in you. Little Michelle.
- 13:57So how many? Michelle, how many relate that
- 13:59ball pass anyway? OK, so I had a plan.
- 14:03OK, good fuck. Now, at the same time, I also
- 14:07felt and it wasn't so nice to Manlos.
- 14:11They just ignore them. They didn't become out great
- 14:16people. God, he's not married and it
- 14:17wasn't proper to Manlos. They really ignore them.
- 14:20It's a it's a freebie. It's a free name and you know,
- 14:24maybe they deserve a grandparent as next level up to be named
- 14:28after them. OK, I skipped their name a few
- 14:31times already. I named random freebies without
- 14:33giving any connection to my laws.
- 14:35I felt it was proper, especially because the only living
- 14:38grandmother I have is on my wife's side.
- 14:40I felt it was proper to give her name.
- 14:42So I had this little debate. We had a little back and forth,
- 14:45back and forth. So we settled them to follow.
- 14:49We settled in a name Nihama Bhatia.
- 14:53That was the name the Hama Bhatia is because the Hama is
- 15:00for during the three weeks is a concept.
- 15:05As you mentioned the consoling habita Mikash and the baby was
- 15:08born during the three weeks and also consoling consultant with
- 15:13my father passing away. That's the name.
- 15:14The Hama and Bhatia was my my wife's grandmother's name.
- 15:18Perfect. Two names, the Hama Bhatia.
- 15:21OK, we thought about it. We deliberated back and forth.
- 15:24I printed out a book of all Jewish names, all Jewish name
- 15:29possible, and I went through every single one before making
- 15:33the decision. We deliberated, went through
- 15:34back and forth and everything. OK, but here's what I think is
- 15:38good at the whole concept. When you deliberate, Hashem
- 15:42helps you. Here's the proof.
- 15:44We gave the baby the name again, the consultant 3 weeks my father
- 15:50passing away and my wife's grandmother's name.
- 15:54But the beauty is Ebony baby was born.
- 15:56Someone tells me why do you do that?
- 15:58Explain why I did it. And I said someone says one
- 16:01second Nihama Ismena him. It's your father's name exactly
- 16:08interchangeable, and it is, which means that not only were
- 16:11we saying consolement, because the Hammami's consolment of the
- 16:15three weeks of my grandfather passing away and then my wife's
- 16:19grandmother built the street, Hashem helps you and he makes it
- 16:23work out that when you think things through properly, he has
- 16:26a little extra. So I did not think about my
- 16:29father's name, literally the girl.
- 16:30I didn't think that part through at all.
- 16:33But Hashem makes that part work out too.
- 16:35When you think things through all the way, when you
- 16:39deliberate, when you are methodical, when you're not
- 16:42reactionary, then Hashem allows add a little extra bonus to the
- 16:47pie. And that's really the mindset.
- 16:49So I think we take away from this Messiah, Shane's point, the
- 16:51Book of Moussa is telling you don't just take half the book.
- 16:55Understand that every single area of life requires
- 16:59thoughtfulness in that area, requires process, requires
- 17:03deliberation, no reactionary things.
- 17:06And if you do it properly, do it the right way, you'll never harm
- 17:10a single person. He never hurt anybody, you never
- 17:13have any collateral damage, and instead you'll have processes
- 17:18that come out complete at the end of the day.
- 17:19That's how most of this.
