SPEAKER_02: But let me ask you one question.
• 0:07
SPEAKER_03: Then you know it's blow this bowl, blow this bowl on blow, then you know it's blow this bowl neck You gotta give us a shot, you know what you know it's blow this bowl neck welcome back the next up in the final for the first time and this seven year absent They await the winner of the Thunder and the Spurs 59 Is Charlie still playing for the next 99 I mean it looks like I watched Devin Vattel and he looked dolly dollars He just won he looks like he's gonna be on that team for a while Yeah but I mean he's on the right you're with the once in a generational talent and you got a good you went to a good organization you can kind of see that with this bird right it's it's done the right way see all the stars come back yeah I mean yeah he could have gone in the nets or something just been miserable yeah that was worked out there's no way no way they didn't be a lottery that's the but anyway we got baseball regionals set baseball we're gonna talk about where the committee got it right where they got it wrong and there's big big huge one that they missed maybe the biggest controversy in the last I mean it is ridiculous honestly I mean it's baseball so it's not gonna get the attention but if this happened in boot you know or football like imagine leaving off like a an undefeated team in a power conference out of the playoffs because they didn't have a quarterback or something it's just incredible that you know you don't even think about it and then you hear that oh yeah they didn't make it and we're talking about the Mercer Bears Mercer Bears that's what we're talking about making Georgia Tallahassee regional which we'll get there and we'll get to the national seeds who's gonna host Florida gets the top eight seeds Miami's going to Gainesville a lot to talk about but pretty lazy by the committee there but the thing that sticks out to me is Mercer not making it how the hell did they not make it 44 and 15 right let's run that down 44 and 15 and what conference regular season they won I don't know what conference they're in the South or something yeah yeah it's one of the smaller conferences but they won the regular season title you know they're the number one team in conference right they have a program every year where you know number three in the nation in home runs as a team behind Georgia and Georgia Tech.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_01: They beat Georgia Tech they beat Georgia Tech in Atlanta that's in I mean that's incredible outhit Georgia Tech you know they got three guys over 20 home runs in their lineup RPI was 28 that's wow and you can make an argument like that that's a team that's a team that's at least a to at least a two seed.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_01: Right that that's a team that you're you're trying to decide which two seed to give them a team with an RPI of 28 at the very worst you give them a three seed if their strength of schedule isn't good.
• 4:19
  SPEAKER_01: That's what they're I don't know what the hell they're looking at.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_01: They say we weak strength of schedule that that's okay well let's let's let's break that down they did beat of the teams they did play they played the probably the best lineup in the country and they beat them you you beat Georgia Tech you played at Florida State you lost to Florida State but you played at Florida State and you look at the teams that they beat that they won series over during the season the Citadel and Troy both in the tournament and Troy 32 and 29 on the season.
• 4:50
SPEAKER_03: They were run ruled I guess in the tournament but it's one game it's the tournament yeah it's the tournament I mean I just can't believe the top 30 RPI right top 30 RPC and then they and then they have that record and with the with the big win you know how many teams have won over 40 games this year Georgia Tech?
• 5:10
SPEAKER_01: Right they lost like nine games all season there's only a handful of teams a handful of teams like in the in the ACC they lost one series to North Carolina and who even beat them oh god uh you know Clemson got a win against them.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_01: Right BC I think got a win again like just teams pulling out game three I just a team that is 32 and 29 you're talking about twice as many losses as Mercer and also lost the series against Mercer this season.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_03: It's the highest RPI to be left out of the tournament in the modern era.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah it's ridiculous it's it's never happened before.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_03: If there wasn't I mean I I it's it's really hard to believe that they didn't make it and then Troy makes it yeah they didn't win the conference.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_03: No they didn't they made it to the conference title game against Southern Miss again I don't think the conference this isn't basketball this is I mean where where that doesn't matter as much but it matters more because there aren't as many games but in baseball the conference tournament is ridiculous.
• 6:22
SPEAKER_01: It it shouldn't mean anything yeah you give it to the regular season team I mean you making a deep run in the conference didn't mean anything they won their regular season in the conference yeah they were the number one team it did it you know it didn't mean anything for Pitt to make a deep run in the tournament they're not going.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_03: Well they were they they go nine and thirteen against quad one and twos but that's still nine and thirteen right that's nine wins dude they they won 44 games there's a team that lost almost 30 games in the tournament as an at-large I don't understand that like Troy didn't win to get the automatic bid they just said you know what let's just put Troy in for some you know Kentucky let's look at Kentucky lost eight of ten SEC series it's it's it's an absolute joke it's an absolute and the head of the committee is Florida State's athletic director Michael Alford he's got to answer for that one yeah that was bad that's just a that's just a miss man yeah that's a complete miss that's that comes down to to politicking by somebody and we got to get we got to get the big money teams in right troy's a bigger school it's a bigger school I they're from a bigger conference and take one of the SEC teams out there I don't care take NC State out one of the teams out that that NC State had no business making it.
• 7:44
SPEAKER_03: They got a pity bid because Elliott Avant is retiring I still think yeah but I mean NC State should should be in so same with Mercer because they can win you you don't you don't NC State's made runs before I don't I would not want to play him well I'm saying if you're if you're anybody any one of these hosts of the region who take their coaches and be like wow are you glad Mercer's not coming heck yeah is what is they're saying nobody wanted that talking about a team that's that's ridiculous.
• 8:17
  SPEAKER_03: It's absolutely ridiculous.
• 8:19
SPEAKER_03: It's like if they couldn't find the right seating for them or something that's I don't understand that one.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_03: I I don't yeah it it you know this is a big F you to the mid-majors and you knew it was coming in basketball and now it's right here in baseball too and that that's incredible man.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_01: 44 and 15 yeah RPI 28 are you going to talk about quad they why the hell are you using RPI if you're gonna get into quad wins and all and all this other shit they won 44 freaking games that's what I'm saying.
• 8:53
SPEAKER_03: You're talking about you put them you give them a chance put them in the heart put them put them out go go take them out west to UCLA.
• 9:01
SPEAKER_03: Yeah put them in Nebraska see if they can do that.
• 9:03
SPEAKER_01: Just put them oh my God that uh yeah that that pisses me off man yeah you don't want to see that you don't want to see it it I mean the to me the biggest you know the what stands out is Troy being in and Mercer not and it's a team that lost almost 30 games on the season three games over 500 number 218 non-conference trains of schedule oh well like how strong was Troy's yeah but they did beat Troy.
• 9:37
SPEAKER_01: Right they won a series against Troy that's what I'm saying like you they it's insane NC State number 242 non conference schedule I'm saying when you start picking apart certain things you can get you could find another team that's in the same boat that has less wins on the season you know that's why I brought up NC State they have a shitty non-conference schedule and they've got they won something like what 34 games they beat Georgia Tech and that this you don't you gotta be in this there's not many teams that can do that.
• 10:14
SPEAKER_03: No I don't care when you play them I don't care when you play them now they put up as many runs against Georgia Tech in that one game that Florida State did in three games combined you want to see a team like that number three team in the country in homers wouldn't you want to see that just absolutely destroy the baseball I would love to that's just I oh man I'd hate to be that in that locker room yeah yeah it's it's yeah yeah that sucks for him yeah well let's go to the rest of the tournament um Florida State is a 10th seed matched up with Alabama who is the seventh seed overall so those two regionals are matched up St.
• 11:03
SPEAKER_01: John's the four seed and Tallahassee Coastal Carolina the two and Northern Illinois Dave Doran's old squad in football what's your first impression first impression is I'm I'm surprised we didn't get an SEC team we got two teams coming from from you know the northern part of the United States Midwest I guess if you call in Illinois but you know um Coastal Carolina has had a rough season at one point they were top ten teams right they've had a rough season but it it really it's been over the last month and a half two months since it started coming out that their head coach was going to take the South Carolina job when the season's over so I mean I don't I don't think it's because the talent is not there for Coastal Carolina.
• 11:57
SPEAKER_01: They played in the championship series last season you know they they they're a team that has been good for the past you know half decade decade they've been talent there.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_03: Yeah and whatever that hangover is that's gonna come now so that'll that'll be again like if it's all been mental and and you know distractions and things like that now you're in the postseason and it Florida State should win the series.
• 12:25
SPEAKER_03: I know that Clemson took down Coast Carolina not too long ago in a midweek game.
• 12:32
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah at their place.
• 12:34
SPEAKER_03: Yeah um they're gonna be ready though uh to get a 10 seed after you're losing your best player a golden spikes candidate would have been no doubt about that in my mind he was on pace to hit 30 plus homers to have an historic season that is Miles Bailey but you lose a guy like that I think the team rebounded pretty well and you've dealt yeah you not just that you dealt with other injuries at different times during the season um I I think it's probably his best job coaching since he's been here you want to do well and you got you got a favorable matchup here and it's baseball and this is it you know you just have to go out and win three games you win three in a row you made it yeah but it's really important to not lose yeah and to make to not make errors and to be able to make the uh you know to be able to make the timely hitting now to make the to get the leadoff guy on get him over get him in being able to hit with guys on base is something that they're gonna have to do this weekend that they haven't done you know like the the pit game in the tournament one guy was responsible for five runs you got to learn from that and move on don't throw the ball down and in right that was a complete miss but again that one pitch I mean that the catcher set up out he reaches backhands and the ball I mean you can't miss there as a lefty again you left the bases loaded three times in that game and you relied on one guy the most unlikely hitter in the lineup to produce for you and he got you five drove in five runs otherwise that's not even a game Pitts winning comfortably so you've got to hit better like they got to show up the pitching is going to be what it is it'll be strong but it's not completely shut down dominant so you know it like you said favorable matchup but we've also proven that we can lose to anybody on any given Saturday Sunday Friday baseball but I'm looking at that Tuscaloosa regional.
• 14:57
SPEAKER_03: Well hold on let's go over it then UCLA 51 wins the top seed Georgia Tech number two seed uh the number three seed is Georgia Georgia then followed by Auburn then it's North Carolina and uh what Texas Texas Alabama Florida those are your top eight and then Mississippi Southern Mass Florida State who got the eleven was that was that Nebraska Nebraska got eleven right yeah you don't have it pulled up pulled up not my show it's not my show you talked to your producer I don't know it's somebody dynamite stuff probably somebody from the SEC yeah more than likely Texas AM somebody like that in fact I think that's who it is oh my god it's definitely AM yeah AM then Nebraska wait you don't know no I'm just guessing number 11 I guess it's already out number 11 is AM 12 is Nebraska let's go over it last four in were Liberty Kentucky Texas State and Troy yeah yeah oh come on first four out Mercer right there that's bullshit yeah that that they just shat on him so they took that into the season tournament I guess Mercer Michigan Pitt TCU that's a joke right there uh UCLA number one overall seed the number 16 seed that they'll be matched up with is West Virginia who's gonna host uh Georgia Tech number two Kansas 15 uh Georgia three Mississippi State is the 14 Auburn's the four Nebraska is the 13 North Carolina's the five Texas AM is the 12 Texas is the six Oregon's the 11 Alabama the 7 Florida State the 10 Florida the eight Southern Midz the nine that was another interesting thing to me is that Oregon State didn't even get a host site it didn't yeah and I think that goes on the lines that this is all about conference affiliations yeah money ties yeah so now you got Oregon State just gonna go out to Oregon yeah they got Oregon State Washington State and Oregon all in one regional I like Oregon State in that one yeah I do too um anybody it's a chalk you know let's look at the Alabama regional who they have that's the one Florida State if they were to win they'd be set to host that team they don't do reseeding so yeah Oklahoma State is in that one there's one team that can can challenge Alabama State and um USC upstate yeah the hell's that I don't know but it it it's gonna be Oklahoma State and Alabama and they can hit Oklahoma State can hit man they got Colin Ritchie number two even if they have to go to Alabama that's not as bad as going to Oregon State even last year.
• 18:34
SPEAKER_03: Right well across the country right or to go into a trial they that has your number yeah you're not gonna beat right so I think it's there for them I would not be surprised if they made a run.
• 18:47
SPEAKER_03: I would this team I would not be surprised if they lost two games and were out in the regional yeah I also would not be surprised if they won there's no straight and we're off to Omaha there you go that that's that's truly who they are it's like you have no idea and that's not a good order I mean that and it's right there in front of them.
• 19:08
SPEAKER_03: I'm using it as motivation you know it's gonna be rocking in Tallahassee yeah um you know pitching while to be there and you know just relaxed and enjoy the moment and he and you know you got to think that they're not gonna they've already faced the toughest arms that they're gonna face there's nobody in this in this next regional that's gonna be able to no no should be able to handle it.
• 19:37
SPEAKER_01: Yeah I mean it you they got the pitching advantage right over everyone in the regional but it again this lineup at times this season since the Bailey injury has had the ability to make pitchers that were not great look like all Americans.
• 19:55
SPEAKER_01: If there was one low seed that could make a run other than Mercer that can't who who would you who's hot who's that team you mean uh that's not a a regional host is there a three or four seed out there that's Carolina maybe I don't know about three Texas State Arizona State's a three okay there are three yeah I would say watch out for them yeah I that that's a team raging Cajuns yeah but air Arizona State that kid Harrison who's who's hit like 28 home runs this year you got a Stuart baseball you don't you can get hot yeah and you don't have to win a series you just have to win a game yep and I I'd say that uh you know a team like Ole Miss that Lincoln regional is gonna be yeah Nebraska Ole Miss Arizona State South Dakota State Yeah that's gonna be that's gonna be one to watch Auburn's got Auburn UCF NC State Milwaukee yeah Auburn I I they can pitch man yeah I think they got the pitching to keep keep those teams North Carolina North Carolina Tennessee East Carolina VCU yeah that that that's gonna be a good one but you know Carolina can pitch they can hit that that's kind of the difference between them and Georgia Southern Minnes Virginia Jack State Little Rock that's a good one that's another one yeah it's another really yeah they could yeah they can hit and then Florida's got Miami and then Troy and Ryder that should be Mercer should be Mercer yeah great that would that would have been interesting yeah it kind of feels like maybe that's why they're Mercer versus Miami would have been a fun game would have been awesome would have been like a shootout yeah it's just hitting bombs left and right all right hoops finals the Knicks man they swept the Cavs after almost losing game one they come back and uh take it over
• 22:00
  SPEAKER_03: Time went game one.
• 22:01
SPEAKER_03: You kind of knew then it was on to the finals as Cleveland just laid an egg the next three games.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_03: Oh man, James Harden team laying an egg.
• 22:10
SPEAKER_03: In the West is where it's been fun.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_03: Game one was an all-timer as the Spurs beat the uh Thunder in double overtime.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna tell I'm gonna tell you like game two.
• 22:23
  SPEAKER_03: Game two, though.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_01: Some of the shit that he was doing in game two.
• 22:27
SPEAKER_03: It was a closer game.
• 22:28
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 22:29
SPEAKER_01: But some of the some of his putbacks on his own misses in game two incredible.
• 22:34
  SPEAKER_03: It's just insane.
• 22:35
SPEAKER_03: And you see how deep the Thunder are as game three.
• 22:40
SPEAKER_03: They were able to they were too much for the Spurs with the bench.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_03: And then but game four, the Spurs respond with the defense and uh the lack of three-point shooting by the Thunder.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_03: And we are all tied at two, heading back to Oklahoma City, and is gonna be what a lot of people say is the NBA championship.
• 23:03
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 23:04
SPEAKER_03: Um definitely will be the favorite against the Knicks.
• 23:07
SPEAKER_03: The Knicks are the Knicks.
• 23:09
  SPEAKER_03: They're gonna be tough, I think.
• 23:10
SPEAKER_03: Um, but we'll get to that later.
• 23:12
SPEAKER_01: Am I crazy here though?
• 23:13
SPEAKER_01: Or or is it all really depend for Oklahoma City on Alex Caruso being able to hit threes?
• 23:19
SPEAKER_03: Well, they they need then nobody hit threes.
• 23:22
SPEAKER_03: Right, but they were less than 20%.
• 23:25
SPEAKER_01: So if you can't hit the games they've won, he's been just knocked down that'll be from behind that'll be something to watch for.
• 23:34
SPEAKER_03: Is he knocking them down?
• 23:35
  SPEAKER_03: And most unlikely guy.
• 23:39
SPEAKER_03: And Darren Fox be able to come back and take the ball out of Castle's hands as in terms of being the point guard is a big, big, huge deal because the turnovers were there when Castle's happened to be the point guard.
• 23:55
SPEAKER_03: Right, that's only one turnover last game.
• 23:57
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because Fox was handling the ball.
• 24:00
  SPEAKER_03: That that yeah.
• 24:01
SPEAKER_03: And if you have that, you can let Castle do what he does, and he's more of an attacker, physical presence.
• 24:07
SPEAKER_03: And then you have those guys, Castle, Vassell on the wings doing what they do.
• 24:13
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and that's that's the thing.
• 24:15
SPEAKER_01: Like you when you talk about defensively with Castle, with Vassell, with Harper, like they start throwing guys at you.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_03: They start throwing guys at SGA.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 24:25
SPEAKER_03: You really don't like seeing him.
• 24:28
SPEAKER_03: Because you hear about it, and then once you start watching it, he's really and he goes down.
• 24:34
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, he's a whistlehawk.
• 24:35
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 24:36
SPEAKER_03: But hey, I mean That's that's what gets you to the line, man.
• 24:40
SPEAKER_03: Like it that that's the way the game is called now.
• 24:42
SPEAKER_03: If you're gonna do it, do it.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_03: If not, don't even let him shoot.
• 24:46
SPEAKER_03: Like hold it, let him shoot the jumpers and just don't foul him.
• 24:50
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 24:51
SPEAKER_03: If he makes them, he's quick though, man.
• 24:53
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's a good player.
• 24:54
SPEAKER_01: He was outside as quick as he is, he's it's yeah.
• 24:58
SPEAKER_03: But I think you you don't want to double him because that that's gonna they know what to do.
• 25:03
SPEAKER_03: They have guys that you it's like the whole thing, let John Morant do what he does.
• 25:07
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 25:08
SPEAKER_03: You know, you gotta stick different waves of them, stick Vassel at him, stick castle at him.
• 25:14
  SPEAKER_03: Just keep fresh.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna make you score 98 points on your own.
• 25:18
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 25:18
SPEAKER_03: You know, stick Barnes on them every now and then.
• 25:20
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's just I I just don't want to double them.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_03: These teams are too good, they're too deep, they're too skilled behind the behind the three-point line.
• 25:30
SPEAKER_03: Once that double comes, they know where to go with the ball, and the ball ends up wide open in a shooter's hands, and they're hitting a three-point shot, and you're getting other guys' confidence.
• 25:40
  SPEAKER_03: I don't think that's the way to go.
• 25:41
SPEAKER_03: I'm looking forward to game five.
• 25:43
  SPEAKER_03: That's tonight.
• 25:45
SPEAKER_03: So we'll see who wins that.
• 25:48
SPEAKER_01: Man, Nick's just sitting there on their couch resting up.
• 25:53
SPEAKER_01: They might not, they might not get swept.
• 25:56
SPEAKER_01: They might steal a game or two.
• 25:58
  SPEAKER_04: We had to go.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_04: All right, here.
• 26:01
  SPEAKER_04: We gotta shut them.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, we gotta get on out of here.
• 26:06
SPEAKER_03: Who they play in 99?
• 26:09
  SPEAKER_03: The Spurs.
• 26:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 26:11
  SPEAKER_03: NBA shortened season.
• 26:13
  SPEAKER_03: Spurs swept the Knicks.
• 26:16
SPEAKER_03: That was Tim Duncan's first title.
• 26:19
SPEAKER_01: Still had the Admiral, right?
• 26:20
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
• 26:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 26:22
  SPEAKER_03: Twin Towers.
• 26:23
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 26:23
SPEAKER_01: He's not gonna beat that.
• 26:25
  SPEAKER_01: That's tough.
• 26:25
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 26:27
  SPEAKER_03: Tough.
• 26:28
  SPEAKER_03: Tough work.
• 26:30
  SPEAKER_03: And they just.
• 26:31
SPEAKER_03: You have a guy like that, you build around.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_03: And that's kind of what they got now.
• 26:36
SPEAKER_03: This one's more of a freak than we've ever seen because he's like a guard that had like an 18-inch gross bridge.
• 26:42
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's just insane.
• 26:45
SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's got the skill set of like you seen the clips of him doing like training like uh with the the monks and shaolin.
• 26:52
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 26:52
SPEAKER_01: Like, dude, you kidding me?
• 26:54
  SPEAKER_03: 7'5, Kung Fu Monk.
• 26:56
  SPEAKER_03: Stay healthy.
• 26:58
SPEAKER_03: He's at the right place, though.
• 27:00
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 27:01
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 27:03
  SPEAKER_03: What else?
• 27:05
  SPEAKER_03: What else?
• 27:06
SPEAKER_03: I mean, you got baseball, some college softball, some drama down in uh Gainesville.
• 27:12
SPEAKER_03: Dude, I didn't know that the Did you see that?
• 27:14
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 27:15
  SPEAKER_03: Jason Williams order.
• 27:17
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the transfer.
• 27:18
SPEAKER_03: Played it in Gainesville for two seasons, transferred to Texas Tech.
• 27:21
SPEAKER_01: Was hit five times in three games.
• 27:24
SPEAKER_03: Hit the game-winning home run, though.
• 27:26
  SPEAKER_03: In one of them?
• 27:28
  SPEAKER_03: In the deciding game.
• 27:29
SPEAKER_03: No, they run ruled him in the deciding game.
• 27:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but hit the go-ahead home run.
• 27:33
SPEAKER_03: After being hit five times.
• 27:34
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 27:35
  SPEAKER_03: Five times.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_03: James Williams got ejected or something.
• 27:39
SPEAKER_03: And then they let him back in.
• 27:42
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 27:42
SPEAKER_03: Then the teams didn't shake hands.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_01: Well, that was all Florida.
• 27:46
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's that's that's Bush.
• 27:48
  SPEAKER_01: Really was.
• 27:50
