- 0:00Time now for we're back to the basics and healthcare with Baalace Live Chiropractic and
- 0:03we have doctor Harley joining us ID doing Doctor Harley. Hey, John,
- 0:06I am doing fantastic. You know. Spring feels like it's finally here.
- 0:11Yeah, we're officially halfway through spring. May day. I just discovered was
- 0:14the halfway point. We're halfway to summer already. It seems like spring hardly
- 0:18started, I know, but it's it is getting nice out and this is
- 0:21a good time to spend time outside. But when you're outside you're enjoying the
- 0:24outdoors, there are some things that can kind of come up that maybe cause
- 0:27a little issues with health, aren't there. Yeah, So one thing I
- 0:31want to talk about, you know, as the weather's getting nicer, we're
- 0:33starting to think spring cleaning projects, get the outside all nice gardening, all
- 0:40those things. So people are gonna start getting out more. And if we
- 0:43spend all this long winter inside and we really haven't been doing a whole lot
- 0:47because the weather has been kind of crappy so far. This springs again,
- 0:50just haven't been as active. Yeah, take it easy, you know,
- 0:54all that hunching over and doing stuff. You're gonna go oh my back,
- 0:57right. You know, we might be a little late with the gardening planting
- 1:00stuff, but you know it'll be fine. You'll get there. Don't try
- 1:02to rush it and get all done in one weekend and you're hurting yourself the
- 1:06next couple of days. You know. The biggest thing is, like it's
- 1:08still exercise, so make sure you're stretching, getting ready for that, drinking
- 1:15lots of water, eat a good meal before and after, taking care of
- 1:19yourself so that way your garden doesn't end up becoming a chore. It can
- 1:22still be that hobby, the fun thing that you like doing. And I
- 1:26suppose some people deal with allergies, which we've talked about a lot, but
- 1:29that's another thing that if you're outside a lot more, if that is something
- 1:30that you deal with, it that's going to be flaring up a little bit
- 1:34more as well. Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of that in this
- 1:36wind lately has been really kicking up the dust. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:40So make sure that you're taking precautions. You know, allergies are going to
- 1:45cause a lot more inflammation in your body, so it's going to be a
- 1:47lot easier to potentially hurt yourself especially if you're overdoing it. That's why I
- 1:51say, really make sure you're taking the time to plan out what you're going
- 1:53to do, taking breaks, drinking water, stretching, and if you do
- 1:59end up hurting yourself, making sure you're doing something about it. Don't just
- 2:01wait. Yeah, So I've been seeing a lot of people in our office
- 2:06for a lot of flare ups, you know, twists turns that they were
- 2:08doing or they woke up you know, didn't realize what they did yesterday how
- 2:13it's feeling. So if you're one of those people that you know you were
- 2:15working hard over the weekend and you wake up Monday morning and you're like,
- 2:17oh man, I'm really sure I should do something, don't wait till Friday,
- 2:23you know, start looking at earlier in the week or sooner rather than
- 2:25later, because the things you have going on now, you know, the
- 2:29underlying issues are still going to be there even if the pain slowly goes away,
- 2:34because all it's going to take is doing the exact same thing again for
- 2:37come back. So, you know, seeing a chiropractor, we can help
- 2:39make sure we're getting to like the underlying cause why this stuff is happening.
- 2:43Tell to help you have a better happier spring and gardening season. It makes
- 2:46a big difference as well. And now I can never remember, but I
- 2:50know you've got a way for us to remember when we're supposed to use ice
- 2:53and we're supposed to use heat, because that's something if somebody does kind of
- 2:58pull a muscle or hurt themselves when they're you know, raking their yard or
- 3:00getting things ready, how do they know which one to do? If it's
- 3:04ice or fat heat. If you're feeling like achy height, you know that's
- 3:07going to feel more muscular. That's a me elm, more tight muscle,
- 3:09So using heat for that. If it's kind of sharp, stabby throbby kind
- 3:15of pain, more likely joint it's inflamed, using ice to help calm that
- 3:20down. Nice. We're kind of a good way of looking at it,
- 3:23very good. And if somebody maybe would like to stop and see you and
- 3:25make a chiropractic part of their health plan, how do they get ahold of
- 3:30here at Balance Life Chiropractic. They can give us a call at six zero
