It's stupid. Welcome everybody, Welcome to this week's edition is a real good
0:20
show. Episodember seven hundred and six for August twenty four, two thousand,
0:25
run three. This your a w all in preview and Predictions edition of ass
0:31
All Team You. I am one after show. I am Jeff Peck joined
0:37
every single week on my coast, the one only Dctor Trey Franklin, Doctor
0:40
Trey, Are you all in? My friend? Like? What what am
0:46
I? All in? And I'm not in. I'm not in a rush,
0:48
I'm not in a hurry, I'm not in any kind of jelly or
0:52
jam and I'm and I'm not in England, So I guess I'm kind of
0:58
in kind of in. That could be the next the follow up to all
1:02
in or all out, just so you do all in all out and then
1:06
another week later you do kind of in. How about that? Well,
1:08
I think I think you do all in all out. Then you do shake
1:11
it all about and then the follow up that is aw hokey poke Okay,
1:17
yeah, just four back to back to back pay per views like that?
1:23
Actually a hokey pokey sounds like maybe an impact pay per view. Okay,
1:29
yeah, they do a little bit more like hardcore wrestling for hokey pokey,
1:34
I mean, but then again, w to do Great Balls of Fire so
1:36
you might see WW hokey pokey. All right, we have to reset the
1:41
clock now it has been now the record was twenty eight days since we last
1:46
reference Great Balls of Fire. Now we're back down to zero. So for
1:49
a throwaway podcast, and like July or excuse pay per view in July twenty
1:53
eighteen, we do reference that show quite often. Do you remember what the
1:59
main event was for that show? Was it Joe and Brock, Joe and
2:05
Braun? I believe Braun. Okay, yeah, let me make sure I
2:07
got that right. I know it involved large men flapping meat at Great Balls
2:14
of Fire? Was that how he teased it? Braun? I don't know,
2:16
but I just took the big E reference and ran with it right there
2:20
because it made a lot of sense and the pun was intentional. July twenty
2:23
seventeen. And I believe you're right. It was Brock and Samoa. Joe
2:28
was the headline. I was Ron and Braun. It was Braun versus Roman
2:30
in an ambulance match that Braun Stroman actually defeated Roman in and then I think
2:35
we came back and they did Joe Braun and Brock. They did some kind
2:39
of three way or four way of those guys too, either right before that
2:43
paper view, were right after that paper view. Next paper view was battle
2:46
Ground. Let's see here. Battle Ground was headlined by Gender Mahal defeating Randy
2:53
Orton in a Punjabi prison match. That was the next show. July two
2:57
was a SmackDown branded show. Yeah, okay, that's right, brace Split
3:01
yeah yeah yeah yeah. So then wait, so then I'm looking at next
3:07
show would have been Summer Slammer Slam. You may be right on that one.
3:12
Yep, brocka go ahead. That curs w. We had a match
3:16
where it's like three large men fighting each other, which was like a basic
3:20
man you know dream Brock versus Braun versus Roman versus Samoa Joe at Summer Slam
3:27
twenty seventeen. All right, I was in the ballpark. I forgot Romans
3:30
considered a big man compared to Joe, Braun and Brock. Good memory,
3:34
Good memory there, Doctor Trey so Brock and Samoa Joe was one of headlined
3:38
that Great Balls of Fire paper viewer reset. I think Great Balls of fire
3:40
referenced clock here on SRTU have a Little Fun Too to kick off the show.
3:46
But unfortunately, a couple of hours ago, we did receive news that
3:52
w WE Hall of Famer Terry Funk had passed away. I mean, one
3:58
of the most influential wrestlers I feel like of all time, doctor Trey.
4:05
I mean, he was a regular professional wrestler that dabbled into brawling, that
4:13
dabbled into hardcore wrestling, revitalized his career at several points. Really is one
4:19
of the reasons why ECW got so big in the late nineties was the inclusion
4:25
of Terry Funk. Truly, truly, truly a one of a kind talent.
4:31
I mean, very sad news tonight do Tray Too to kick off the
4:35
show here, as we learned that Terry Funk had passed away. Sadly,
4:39
Yeah, I heard about it on my drive in from Tennessee today to get
4:44
back home, and it wasn't surprising. The last pictures we saw Terry,
4:49
he wasn't in great shape. And you know, like I'm for being a
4:55
wrestling fan for forty years, I didn't get into Terry Funk, and really
5:00
the appreciation of Terry Funk until much later in his career. Like my first
5:03
memory of Terry Funk is the back to back matches he had with Rick Flair
5:08
at WCW when they brought him in as a basically a play by play guy,
5:12
and then he attacked Flair after the Steamboat trilogy. Pile drove up to
5:15
the table and I was like, ooh, I hate that guy. And
5:17
then my dad is the one who taught, you know, told me more
5:21
about Terry Funk. We saw him in Roadhouse and then ECW launch and I
5:27
learned more about him. And then you know, you're just like, oh
5:30
my god, Like this guy's influenced with me people, and you know,
5:32
kind of a technical wrestler and then a brawler. And then you know,
5:35
we saw this stuff in ECW and this stuff, you know, started catching
5:39
the videos of stuff with him and Captain's Jack and Japan, and then you're
5:43
like wow, and then you know the attitude are he reinventing himself again and
5:46
putting on panty hose and then all the way through now like the man is
5:50
legitimately that there will never be another guy like Terry Funk. I mean,
5:56
the man, the man was Middle Asian crazy, for fifty years, So
5:59
I mean, I mean, I don't know about you. The closest thing
6:01
we have to a Terry Funk right now is maybe a John Moxley. But
6:06
you know, his influence throughout wrestling, whether it was the Texas guys or
6:14
you know, the Fucking Nojo or the hardcore wrestlers, their deathmatch wrestlers,
6:18
or the gimmick wrestlers. Like, his influence spans so many styles of wrestling
6:25
that it's really really incredible to see how much I don't say paved the way
6:30
for guys, but like really just opened doors and open up eyes to different
6:33
styles of wrestling. So just one of the most well rounded wrestlers in the
6:39
history of our business. So from a personal standpoint, I had the absolute
6:45
pleasure and honor to interview Terry Funk about thirteen years ago. When I heard
6:50
the news, I immediately thought of that interview and everything that led up to
6:55
it. So at that period of time, I was on this podcast called
6:59
The Wheelhouse with Mike Bower and Chris Cause and we've made available this podcast as
7:06
well, which I'll get to. And we had a fantastic relationship with Ring
7:11
of Honor Wrestling with Kerry Silkin when he owned the company. I was going
7:14
to like every New York City show in two thousand and nine, twenty ten,
7:17
and then into two thousand and eleven before they sold to Sinclair Broadcast Group.
7:23
So for every one of their shows in New York, they would always
7:27
be so kind to give us some sort of wrestler to interview, and I
7:32
would interview Claude Doocasticnolie, at one point interviewed Roderick Strong. Had this opportunity
7:42
time and time again, and then we were pitched the opportunity to interview Terry
7:46
Funk, who for Glory by Honor I believe it was nine in two thousand
7:53
ten, he was acting as the special enforcer outside the ring for the Tyler
7:59
Black rogeris Wrong match for the ROH World Championship. Tyler Black now known as
8:03
Seth Rons. It was his last match of ring Vroon and Wrestling before going
8:05
to WW and Terry Funk was involved. So we had the opportunity to interview
8:09
Terry Funk to promote the show and leading into it, like Roh gave me
8:16
his home phone number and him and I played phone tag and it was on
8:20
my old phone. I wish I still had it, but Terry Funk like
8:24
leaves me this voicemail and it was like him asking his wife, like,
8:31
you know, do I leave a message. It was like listening to this
8:35
elderly man who wasn't up on technology but was also a wrestling legend, like
8:41
leave this very funny, like grandpa esque voicemail on my phone. And it
8:48
was so cool. And then we led into interviewing him days later. That
8:54
day later, and it was one of the first real big interviews we ever
9:01
had on our podcast, and it was Terry Funk, and I think we
9:03
talked to him for like thirty to forty five minutes. And to make a
9:07
long story short, we we we actually interviewed him on August twenty fourth,
9:13
twenty ten, nearly thirteen years the day where he passes away ago, which
9:20
is insane that it was a raid around this time as well, and the
9:22
day that this podcast drops is on August twenty four, twenty twenty three,
9:26
thirteen years later. That we've made this podcast available. Right now, it's
9:31
up on realgutrader dot com. By the time that this podcast drops, it
9:35
should be up on our subscription feeds, up on iTunes and everywhere else,
9:39
and I encourage everybody to listen to it. Obviously it's a bit dated.
9:43
You'll hear us be talking about stuff that was going on woe at the time,
9:46
but it was so cool to talk to Terry Funk about his career.
9:50
It's it's a broadcasting highlight doc tray, and it was like the first real
9:56
instance that I got to interview somebody that like I knew and it wasn't some
10:01
sort of blogger or anything like that that we were doing at the time.
10:05
It was Terry freaking Funk, who was a deb WE Hall of Famer,
10:07
a wrestling legend, and it was such an honor to speak with him,
10:13
and I had that honor and I'll remember it forever and I'm looking forward to
10:18
listening back to that podcast. I immediately went back and I found an article
10:22
that quoted our show, so that I went back into my old archives,
10:26
got the podcast center over to Bauer. Bauer put it up on the website
10:30
and has made it available for download, So it's gonna be a lot of
10:33
fun to go back and listen to that. And again, I just it
10:37
was an honor, it was an honored privilege to talk to him and I'm
10:39
very sad and about the news today. But the career in the life of
10:43
Terry Funk was was one of a one in a million doctor Trey. He
10:46
was a one in a million person. Yeah, I mean it's amazing me
10:52
because you know, we talked about, you know, we spent a lot
10:54
of time over the past few years talking about the bloodline, the usos,
10:58
you know, other family or blood you know relations, and a lot of
11:03
those guys are very very similar in their styles. And then you look at
11:07
Terry Funk and Dory Funk Junior as professional wrestlers in the early days, they
11:13
were very similar. But you know, the path that Terry went down was
11:18
so different from his older brother, I mean just two almost completely polar opposite
11:24
personalities and everything else. And you know, by all accounts, like I've
11:28
had an outpouring of people from you know, the independent scene here in Tennessee
11:33
talking about like appearances Terry made and you know what a great guy was.
11:37
Actually one of my one of my friends that was in wrestling before I got
11:39
in in Arkansas was telling the story about how he had worked a show and
11:43
then had to drive straight from the show to the airport to pick Terry Funk
11:48
up and he was still basically in his wrestling gear and you know, throwing
11:54
a pair of shorts and a T shirt over, like one of his own,
11:58
like you know, T shirts from his merchable. It gets to the
12:01
airport, he's all stressed out because it's Terry freaking Funk. He gets there
12:05
for realizes Funk's plane got in five minutes earlier than schedules, so he's stressing
12:09
that Terry Funk's been waiting on this young independent wrestler. And he walks,
12:13
you know, he walks in, looks around, he sees Terry Funk,
12:18
and he goes he didn't have to call out to him, like Terry just
12:20
looked at him. That's a wrestler. He just walks right up to him,
12:24
introduced himself. They got in the car, and then a two hour
12:26
drive from the Little Rock Airport or a Little Rock Airport to Batesville, Arkansas.
12:31
He's like the highlight was literally him just talking to Terry Funk the entire
12:35
time. And he was supposed to be in a tag match with him and
12:39
Terry against Brian Christopher and Rakishi and Rikishi no showed or not no, but
12:46
just couldn't make it, and they moved Terry Funk to be in the special
12:50
guest referee. He's like, that's just one of those memories I will never
12:54
ever forget, just because of how gracious and how willing he was to do
12:58
whatever the promo her ass And that's one of those little life lessons as a
13:03
young wrestler. He took away from it was, Hey, you're never too
13:05
big for this sport. And I think he's always he always retained that it
13:11
was appreciative to everybody came in contact, whether they were you know, top
13:15
of the car main event and one of the major promotions, or you know,
13:18
a green guy in his second year of wrestling. He's just you know,
13:22
like we've talked about years ago with Tracy's mothers, he's just one of
13:24
those guys that just seems universally loved and revered across the board about you know,
13:30
with everybody who came in contact with him. Yeah, that's such a
13:31
cool story. He was such a nice guy and just my very small interactions
13:37
with him, and he didn't need to be I mean, he's he's a
13:39
living legend. And it was like, listened back to the podcast that we
13:43
made available. It's like talking to an old friend that's talking about his career.
13:48
Talking to him on the phone when we were setting up the interview was
13:52
he could not have been more nice, you know, and it was just
13:58
it was just a really cool experience and it's one that I'll never forget.
14:01
I mean, it was legit, like the It was the first big name
14:05
I ever interviewed in my entire broadcasting career. And I'm so happy I found
14:09
the podcast to make available and pay tribute to Terry Funk, who sadly passed
14:16
away today. It's a it's a sad day, but we remember an honor
14:22
the life and career of one Terry Funk, because I mean, things would
14:26
not be where they were today if it wasn't for Terry Funk, his battles
14:30
with Rick Flair, the way that he helped carry ec W forward, just
14:37
being always a wrestler's wrestler. He's one of a kind and we'll be missed
14:43
and we send our condolences to all the family, friends, and of course
14:46
fans of Terry Funk and his passing today. Rest in peace, Terry Funk.
14:56
There's no easy way to transition out of paying tribute to a legend other
15:00
than talking about a legend whose potential WWW career ended. This past Friday on
15:07
SmackDown, Edge in a match with Shaymiss to celebrate twenty five years in the
15:11
WWW in his hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His contract is expiring
15:20
soon. We don't know if he's gonna stick with w he says he doesn't
15:24
know. We don't know if he's going to completely retire, if he's going
15:28
to go somewhere else, to a or like an AW. Well, we
15:31
might have gotten some lightshd on the story today as PW Torch is reporting the
15:37
following and this comes straight from their article stating Edge wrestled his last match on
15:43
his current w WE contract on Friday. His contract expires, according to Edge
15:46
on the Fan Morning Show at the end of September. It's not known if
15:50
he has any non compete period afterward, but there's a lot of buzz that
15:54
he is a W bound. PW Torch has learned that Adam Copeland aka Edge,
15:58
presented to w W what would take to retain his services, but WWW
16:02
declined to meet his requests. This is sparked to believe within WW that he's
16:06
probably headed at AW and new at the time what AW could offer him,
16:10
based perhaps on conversations with other wrestlers of a star power about AWPA. Tony
16:15
Khn is a big fan of Edge, it certainly would value adding him to
16:17
the roster, either as a wrestler or in some other role. Also,
16:19
Christian Cage is a longtime friend of Copeland and is prominently featured on AW television,
16:23
so linking it together in some way on TV would be natural. Edge
16:27
received the big celebration of his w here on Friday SmackDown because he's well liked
16:33
within WWE management doesn't resent the possibility to go to a w and that's what
16:38
PW Torch had reported today Wednesday, August twenty three, as we record on
16:47
Wednesday night while AW Dynamite is airing. So lots of speculation here Doctor Trey
16:52
that Adam Copeland Edge could be AW bound prior to him returning in twenty twenty.
16:59
I believe in late two and nineteen he was approached by Tony conn and
17:02
AW. He never just come out fully and said that, but he basically
17:06
alludes to. I believe there was like a W twenty four on Edges return,
17:11
and that's what led to him going to he was made an offer and
17:15
he went to w w WE and said, well, you know, I
17:17
owe it to them. Let me see if if they'll match it and bring
17:22
me back as a professional wrestler. W WE didn't match it, brought him
17:26
back, and then obviously the rest is history because he's been with the companies
17:29
since two thy twenty, returning out to the Royal Rumble in January twenty and
17:33
twenty, and here he is now potentially on his way out of WWE,
17:37
possibly had an AW Doctor Trey, how do you how do you take all
17:41
in all this news here? Do you think we last we watched Edges last
17:45
match in w WE? Uh, I'm gonna say yes. And that's that's
17:52
what he cut with the cava that the wrestlers are wrestlers, and and you
17:56
know, guys like Edge and Christian and you other guys have been rather as
18:00
a long time ago how to use leverage when an issue. But you know,
18:03
when you when you look at the AW schedule and you look at basically
18:07
guaranteed pay and you look at you know, not only is one of his
18:12
best friends there, but he also has history with Don Callis as well.
18:17
You know it does make a lot of sense for him to you know,
18:21
make a move and go over there. And you know, if he presented
18:25
an offer WB and they declined to meet those demands, I think they kind
18:29
of know that that, you know, the possibilities there. So uh,
18:33
right now, I'm gonna say, yeah, that was probably his last match
18:36
in WWE, because if he does go to a w I just don't think
18:41
by the time that contract would be up that he would. I just don't
18:44
see Adam Copeland being that, you know, I don't I don't see him
18:47
being staying and wrestling at sixty. So you know, for a guy in
18:52
his early fifties, that this might be a chance for him to go out
18:55
there help some younger guys and you know, potentially get another edge Christian argue
19:00
boy matchup, edge Christian young buck matchup, things like that. I that
19:03
seems like really fun, you know, matches for you know, Adam Coplan
19:10
to get involved with and really wind his career down doing some fun stuff like
19:12
that with guys he's probably never wouldn't have the chance to work with. If
19:17
he stays in WWE. Where would you prefer to see Himenda Square? Would
19:21
you prefer to see Himenda Square in ww or in AW. I mean I
19:25
prefer see WWE because I just don't know what the name Adam you know,
19:27
you know, coming from Toronto, Kata Adam Copeland has the same ring to
19:33
it as Edge, you know. But I mean obviously most of these guys,
19:37
like the lifers, like Edge has basically been a lifer, like he
19:41
really after he first on the senor ww he's never been anywhere else, And
19:45
so those guys when they go to other promotions, it just feels odd.
19:49
Like I still can't wrap my head around Bret Hart wc W. Like it
19:55
doesn't you go back and watch those old videos. It doesn't look right.
19:57
Can you wrap your head around staying to would be? Wait? No,
20:00
Like it just doesn't look right, you know, it's weird, like and
20:04
it may be the way that I'm but use the phrase it's the light I've
20:10
always seen them in, but it is the production lighting and like how they
20:12
look like it just looks off, you know. So yeah, I mean
20:18
I almost forget this thing. I mean we've talked about the show, but
20:22
I almost forget this thing was in WWB because it was kind of like that
20:23
year long cup of coffee. So to speak, it's kind of the same
20:27
thing with you know, like I said Brett Hart WCW, it took me
20:30
a long time to get you seeing Hulk Hogan in WCW when he jumps over
20:34
there, or Rick Flair when he first came to w W E. You
20:37
know, like Macho Man in w W two was weird. It kind of
20:41
took them to actually change their entire look. Like when Hogan went to Hollywood
20:45
Macho Man star doing the black and white stuff. I'm like, all right,
20:48
that seems like a different character. I can kind of see that separately
20:52
from the red and yellows. But then even when Hogan came to w E
20:56
as nWo Hollywood, I'm like, that doesn't look right. It's just it
21:00
always seems kind of living off for a while. So you know, it's
21:04
like, you know, seeing your favorite baseball player or NFL player. It's
21:07
like Jet, You're gonna go through this year, Aaron Rodgers as a jet,
21:11
Yeah, you know, Brett Farve as a jet. You know,
21:15
me seeing Joe Montana as a chief or Jerry Rice as a raider like it,
21:19
or Trey Lance is the third string quarterback. No that I'm okay with,
21:26
But it's just you see these things. You're like that it just doesn't
21:29
make sense. And it's Smith as a cardinal, Like you're just like,
21:33
it's almost it's almost don't want to say it's sad, but it is kind
21:36
of like a little bit of a disappointment at time when you Bronco he got
21:41
a Super Bowl though, so like he did Tom Brady as a Buck.
21:44
Yeah, but you know, it's just it's just things you see. You're
21:47
like, that's odd, especially when you first see now when you got to
21:49
Brady year three as a Buck, you're like, all right, yeah,
21:52
I'm kind of used to it now. But wrestling is a different a different
21:56
animal a lot of ways. Like you see you guys, like I mean,
22:00
seeing Moxley in AW the first time, you're like, whoa, that's
22:03
kind of odd. Now that he's been there for three years, say with
22:04
Chris Jericho, the first time you see, you're like, that's kind of
22:07
weird looking, and then now you're like, all right, it makes sense.
22:10
Cody, when he came back to WWE with the AW gimmick, it's
22:14
like, it's cool, but it takes a little while for your brain to
22:17
process it and make it normal. I guess yeah. It's it's We're so
22:22
used to it in wrestling, but I just feel like there are times where,
22:26
especially towards the later end of the career, it's funny you bring up
22:29
Jericho, like Jericho in AW it's it's been forty years now and he's a
22:34
main staying AW a former AW World Champion. But there is a huge part
22:38
of me, as a Chris Jericho fan that wants to see one last match
22:42
in WWW, like that's where I believe his career should end. And I
22:45
don't think that will ever happen now. I don't forever foresee Chris Jericho leaving
22:52
AW and going to w W because the allure of joining a company that is
22:59
a little bit more lax than the grind of WWE is what's a very which
23:03
is very appealing to wrestlers, and that, to me, is is why
23:07
potentially Edge is making that jump. And I think edgees is making that jump
23:11
because there's more or potentially making that jump because there's more opportunities for him that
23:18
he would like to accomplish to close out his career. I mean, you're
23:22
you're talking about tagging with Christian again. I didn't I don't think Christian is
23:26
going to come to Towe anytime, seeing the Hardys are both in AW.
23:30
If they want to have a Edging Christian Hardy's match, that's going to have
23:33
to happen in AW now, Edging Christian versus FTR, Edging Christian versus the
23:37
Young Bucks, Edge Wrestling in New Japan, Edge Wrestling, MJF Adam Cole,
23:45
whoever see him punk again, will Losspray, whoever Kenny Omega like?
23:51
There just seems to be more opportunities in AW for a professional wrestler than there
23:56
is in WWE. Like w E is the global corporate conglomerate that it has
24:03
WrestleMania, SummerSlam, the stadium shows. But if you're a wrestler who's accomplished
24:07
all that and your itches to wrestle some of your friends and accomplish some dream
24:12
scenarios like look at the path that Brian Danielson took by leaving WWE, AW
24:18
is more appealing. So it's a tough pill to swallow because to me,
24:22
again, Edge should finish his career in w WA. There should not be
24:26
a period of time where Edge had left w to go wrestle in AW.
24:30
In my opinion, as a fan, it just seems perfect that he is
24:37
with the WE family and that's where he finished his career. Some people are
24:40
w WE guys, some people are AW guys, And I just feel like
24:45
at this part important his career, I don't I don't want to see him
24:48
go to a W Obviously we'll get used to it, but it's a it's
24:52
a tough pill to swallow as an EDGE fan, because, you know,
24:53
do we want to run where he's recognized as Adam Copeland? Does he work
24:59
out something with w W where he could use the name Edge? Is he
25:03
the Edge? Is he like something stupid like Edge Copeland? You know I
25:07
would what's that? Adah Adam Edge? Like? I don't know. I
25:18
got the feeling that his career was ending this past Friday on SmackDown, not
25:22
potentially continuing in AW. But this report is seems pretty like a fore gone
25:26
conclusion to me that in two three months from now we have Edge in AW.
25:32
There's a lot of dream match scenarios that we'll see play out. It's
25:34
just a matter of do we want to see it play out at this point
25:37
in his career, Like, this is not an Adam Cole jumping from w
25:41
e too. You know a w this is a guy who only has a
25:45
couple more years left under his belt. And where do we want to see
25:48
that final match take place? Is my thing? And I think for a
25:51
guy like Edge, it should happen in w W. A yeah, I
25:56
agree with that then, And then I thought as you were talking, I
25:59
thought about the concept and a couple of things though. One is if if
26:03
he does go to WWE, does that mean that when Beth's contracts up,
26:07
she might make appearances in a AW and then we might get Beth and Brett
26:11
Baker or Beth and Edge against Adam Colin Brett Baker, Like there's there are
26:15
some dream matches for Beth Phoenix in AW as well if she decided to go
26:19
that path of good thing. And this is a topic for our show maybe
26:22
on a on a week or we're a little bit slower. We don't have
26:26
like a five hour pay per view coming up, but a couple of those
26:29
coming up. Now. Yeah, when when you talk about guys making that
26:32
jump, these guys and they're older, stay just making that jump to AW.
26:34
And we've had this conversation on the show about has AW ever built you
26:40
know, has a TOW built up. Any homegrown stars outside of baby MJF
26:44
that are over with the crowd, maybe a yeah, But is it you
26:49
know, for the law of the I mean, those were guys that were
26:52
like kind of on that pillar thing when they moved over. But you look
26:56
at, you know, some of the other guys that are maybe a little
26:59
bit lower, you know, a private party, are they really over to
27:03
the other guys that they've brought in. But those guys who are over,
27:06
they can go anywhere they want to and they're gonna get a crowded reaction.
27:07
So the allure of AW when you're already over and don't have to work as
27:11
hard, is really compelling. But if you're a younger guy and you're still
27:15
trying to establish yourself, maybe going to NXC is the right route because they
27:22
can kind of teach you how to get over, maybe better than what aw's
27:25
done. I look at a guy like Brian Pillman Jr. Who's making that
27:27
jump over to WW here the next month or so, we'll see him in
27:32
NXC. But some of those guys that are younger and got that contract,
27:36
having established themselves, and if you're not getting over on AW, are you
27:41
average you're gonna be able to get over anywhere else. Interesting point. Yeah,
27:45
so we'll see here Edge possibly wrestling his last WE match in his career
27:49
and could very well be on his way to All Elite Wrestling. Speaking of
27:56
AW doctor Trey, we will pre if you predict aw all In here in
27:59
momententarily, but let's talk about it before we get into the show itself.
28:03
How important is this AW all In show for the future of the promotion and
28:07
this Sunday over eighty thousand people Wembley Stadium, London, England, they revived
28:14
the all In brand for All Elite Wrestling. Will be the first time that
28:17
AWS ran an all in show and they're doing it. They're promoting it as
28:21
the biggest wrestling crowd in history. I know they are approaching the WRESTLEMANE thirty
28:26
two record, which was over I believe eighty two eighty three thousand. So
28:30
it's very well possible little week from now that this show has surpassed that and
28:34
will be recognized from an attendance standpoint. Sorry wrestlemany three that it was the
28:41
biggest wrestling show attended in history, which is kind of a surprise because up
28:47
until the last couple of months, Aw's creative has not been that great,
28:51
so it is the allud just to create history and be there for the first
28:56
debut show over in London, England. They've been good as of late,
29:00
but sometimes when you look at the card, people are like, I don't
29:02
know about this doing back to back shows as well. There's been a lot
29:06
of back and forth about that. But nonetheless, taking a step back from
29:08
all that again, I asked the question, how important is all in this
29:14
Sunday for the future of the promotion? By the way, I think it
29:18
was named another pay per view for them. They could do all in,
29:19
all out and then all that there you go. Okay, a little nod
29:23
to the Nickelodeon show, Yes exactly, But I think those shows really really
29:29
important to them. And I don't want to say it's like a turning point
29:32
or a fork in the runners like that, But when you're gonna have this
29:36
many eyes on your product and you're going out there, you're saying, hey,
29:41
this is gonna be the largest wrestling crowd in the history of wrestling,
29:45
You're gonna get some mainstream attention from that as well, and so from that
29:51
alone, you want to make sure you're on point. I mean, if
29:52
we have you know, production gaps or pyro gaps or things like that,
30:00
it's going to be even more magnified on this stage where you know, you're
30:07
casual. Like the one thing we talked about, you have to get the
30:11
eyes of the casual wrestling fans on your product in order to grow. You
30:15
can't just stay tied into the diehards. Here's your chance to grab some those
30:19
casual fans because they're gonna hear about on ESPN, they're gonna hear about on
30:23
CBS Sports, they're gonna hear about different outlets that about how big this show
30:27
is and everything else. If you have a pyro incident like you have with
30:33
you know, the barbed wire match, or you know any of these other
30:36
like weird things that have happened, and we just go, oh, like
30:38
we just kind of grow because grown, because it's a growing pain. On
30:42
this stage, it's gonna get magnified even bigger. So it's an opportunity for
30:48
them to grab some more casual fans and bring to their product. But at
30:52
the same time, you just don't want those huge mistakes that make you look
30:57
like a minor league team playing a major League stadium, so you's got to
31:00
be mindful of that as well. Looking at the overall card right now,
31:04
touch train and I know you don't have at top of mind right now.
31:08
We'll run through it here momentarily. But there is a lot of social media
31:14
chatter that the build for this show has been lackluster. I mean, AW
31:18
is right and rightfully so ramping this up in a huge way as a massive
31:23
turning point for the promotion, And there is a lot writing on this Sunday
31:26
show, and rightfully so, like I'm very happy for AW to accomplish what
31:32
they have and all wrestling fans should be voting for rooting for that as well.
31:37
The tribalism of being like that I hope they fail and all that shit,
31:40
it's just ridiculous, because this is good for wrestling. That a promotion
31:42
not named WWE is able to get over eighty thousand people in a stadium in
31:48
a country that they have never been to before. This is a huge accomplishment
31:52
and the success of the show is tenfold important for the future of the AW
31:57
promotion because this could be the end of the first chapter of a w and
32:01
taking it to the next chapter and helping it get closer and closer to a
32:07
you know, a one B or one A. However, you want to
32:10
look at it as an equal to a WE in the eyes of everybody around
32:15
the world, rather than a quote secondary promotion. Nonetheless, the card has
32:21
been chastised in a way. What do you think of the build? What
32:24
did you think of the build? What do you think of the formation of
32:28
it? Are you getting what you want to see this Sunday during this historic
32:32
show. I mean I'm getting some of what I want. I mean,
32:37
MJF Adam Cole on papers a match, I would want to see the build
32:42
for this match in this setting I think is different. I mean, usually,
32:49
if I'm heading into a show where I know we're going to put sixty
32:53
seventy thousand people in the stadium, whether it's a Wrestlingmania, Summer Slam,
32:58
something like that, you know something this magnitude, I want that main event
33:01
to feel like it's going to be a fight. I want that. I
33:06
want those casual fans. I want those people that, for lack of a
33:09
better term, think it's still real to them. I want them to buy
33:15
into the animosity and this is kind of like that they've done the whole friendship
33:20
angle leading into this match, and I'm like, okay, so we're playing
33:22
the competitive friend angle instead of the animals angle. So that makes me a
33:28
look at Leary, you look at the Stadium Stampede match, like those are
33:32
fun matches and enjoyable, but you know, would I rather see you know,
33:38
Omega and Orho. I rather see you know, a singles match or
33:43
a tag match with animosity and anger and victual build to it. So to
33:49
me, something like this, some of these matches had a one week build
33:52
or a two week build, and they've never really gone face to face with
33:55
stuff like it's not it feels like, for lack of a better term,
34:02
like when a kid tries on his daddy's shoes. It's huge and it's fun,
34:08
but it's not the same as when dad puts his shoes on and goes
34:13
to work, and it almost feels like it's the indie show trying to be
34:17
WWE in the presentation, but the build is not on the level of what
34:22
we get to for a SummerSlam or Amania or a Rumble for that matter.
34:27
So that's where I think the difference is. I think that's where the backlash
34:31
has come from. Folks on the build up to this, to this show.
34:36
Yeah, and I think maybe this is a reflection of a promotion that
34:38
is not used to this opportunity, doctor Try. I mean, it's that
34:40
fair to say that, Like they're there. They don't have the record of
34:46
being able to build towards massive stadium shows like this like WWE has with Wrestlemanian
34:52
SummerSlam, and you're kind of seeing that newer promotion, you know, less
34:59
than five years. I think that's a fantastic points something I have not thought
35:01
about until you said it as the reason why the build for a show like
35:06
this has not been up to snub to the level of promotion that AW is
35:09
giving it. Yeah. I mean and once again, like you and I
35:15
after this show, like when you look at the AW calendar, what is
35:19
their big build to show every year? Yeah? Is it all out?
35:23
Is it's you know, one of the other one, Like is it?
35:27
What's what are you building towards? I mean you look at WWB, they
35:30
were always building towards SummerSlam. Stark I mean w W E or WCW NWA
35:36
for years. There's always buildings. A stark impact is bound for Glory Ring
35:39
of honor final Battle, you know, or you know, like we always
35:45
had penultimate shows that you were building towards. I don't think AW does that,
35:47
and I'll one hand it is I don't want to say lack of experience,
35:52
but it is almost like a cocky attitude, like, Hey, we're
35:57
gonna keep doing what we're always doing because it's been working for us. But
36:00
this is a different setting than what you're typically in and you've had I mean,
36:06
how long ago was the Women we same show now? It's like four
36:07
months ago? Five months? Yeah, April? Yeah, So why have
36:12
you not been building now since April to get to this? Like all storylines
36:16
lead to this show knowing you're gonna have more eyes on the product than you
36:20
typically do. So it's almost either inexperience or bravado that they really haven't changed
36:29
their modus operati leading into it. And dear God, I just used a
36:31
lot of big words that so I used ten ultimate most operatic, Jesus Christ,
36:36
what the hell's wrong with me today? And Doctor Trey's doing Mortal.
36:40
I feel like they went into this show building didn't like they do any other
36:45
normal pay per view, and I think that is where they were wrong.
36:51
In that sense. I have loved the MJF Adam Cold storyline, Like I
36:57
think it has been a lot of fun and enjoy to watch, and it's
37:01
gone in a direction I did not think it was going to go and making
37:05
MJF a baby face, and I think to this point that he is barring
37:08
a turn going to be a baby face moving forward. So that was really
37:14
cool. But you think about that, I mean, that's the main event
37:15
match, and I'm very happy and proud for those two guys, But you
37:19
asked yourself, It's like, was that build and this match the one that
37:23
should be headlining all In? And I don't know the direction of this build
37:30
for all In. Maybe this shouldn't have been used for this type of show,
37:35
Maybe it should have been something bigger. I still say, and maybe
37:38
this is what's the hang up for me, the fact that we're not getting
37:42
CM Punk and FTR versus Kenny Omegan the Young Bucks in a main event at
37:45
all In. It's just very telling about how bad the backstage Jerry is in
37:50
aw right now. Like the fact that's not happening is like atrocious. I
37:57
mean that was the moneymaker. You guys could not put your your differences are
38:00
that bad that you could not headline this show, of all shows where people
38:08
want to see those two groups feud because of the real life beef between them,
38:15
especially see them Punk in the elite. They couldn't come to do it
38:19
is like mind boggling to me. Maybe that's where it's a personal hang up
38:22
for me. But I mean, as I look at this card and we'll
38:24
preven predict it here, it just doesn't I don't think it does it for
38:30
me? Doctor Try. I gotta be honest. I wish there was some
38:34
better build for a lot of these matches. Yeah, not to mention,
38:37
you could have done a WrestleMania rematch on this show that actually had a little
38:46
bit of backstage anamossa. You could have done Jericho and Punk yep. I
38:51
was just thinking that. And we know after brawl Out that there was some
38:57
contention between Jericho and Punk and they've said that they've kind of hashed that out.
39:02
But you could have done that. You know, you look at the
39:05
stuff with what's his name talk, I can't pronounce his name, Takashita,
39:10
Canosia, Takeshka, t Keshka, are we doing it? Takeshka and Omega
39:16
at all at the show we are where they're doing this sex man tag team
39:21
match, but once again, it's not a singles match, and that was
39:25
one of the most brutal beat downs we saw a few months back, and
39:29
they still haven't done a singles one on one match to play off that.
39:32
But we're getting in this six man It's like, guys, some of this
39:36
stuff is basic wrestling, Like like you said, I love the MJF Adam
39:40
Cole storyline, I really do, but this build up feels like you're building
39:45
to a secondary pay per view to get the turn of one of these guys
39:52
on the other to then lead to the bigger show. And that's one of
39:55
the things that means always done really well is like, hey, if it's
39:58
a B show, hey we made do a turn post match to then lead
40:04
to we just thought a Summer Slam for crying out loud. We saw,
40:07
you know, Jay Usso turn on Roman. They beat up as brother to
40:12
build a Summer Slam, and that's how it's done. I mean, you
40:16
look at Russellmania like outside, I mean, Roman Cody was not in that
40:21
same area of says, but look you look at Sammy and Kevin against the
40:23
USO's like, you're building that contention to pay off at your bigger events,
40:30
And I think that's one thing they haven't done very well is lay out to
40:35
the fans, Hey, this is our A show. These are our A
40:37
shows, these are our B shows on pay per views, So that way,
40:43
you know what you're kind of getting into. Like, I love that
40:46
their storytelling for the most part on a lot of this stuff, it's been
40:50
great. But even FTR and the Bucks, you and I talked about a
40:53
couple of weeks ago, like it's a great matchup, this is the what
40:58
the rubber match or the second match, third match rubber matchup, But once
41:01
again, play back into this, like, have some actual interactions between these
41:06
guys, have some back and forth, even if it is friendly competitive battle
41:12
between two the top tag teams in the world, you know, have something
41:15
go back and forth other than just like you know, a little bit of
41:19
appointing, a little bit of a slight no like build up a little bit
41:22
of stuff in there to make me feel like, hey, these guys have
41:25
a personal issue, not just a competitive issue on who's the best tag team
41:30
in the world. Like just those little subtle tweaks would be fine, but
41:35
we get a lot of like last second booking for this show and some storylines
41:39
that are great, but maybe for you know, a Fighter Fast or you
41:45
know one of the other pay per views that you know are kind of down
41:47
down the pipe a little bit to get to this. I mean, it's
41:51
just they have so many things they could have done that would make sense.
41:53
I mean, you put Jericho and Punk in Wembley Stadium. Hey, there's
41:59
your headliner. Well, so like the diehard fans, yeah, Adam Cole,
42:01
MJF We're buying into. But those casual fans, if they're like,
42:06
hey, we got Jericho and Punk, which is a WrestleMania rematch in Wembley
42:09
Stadium in front of ninety thousand people, and that was one of my favorite
42:14
WrestleMania matches because it's underrated because it was so stiff and hard hitting with some
42:17
real life trauma behind it exactly, you know, like pay that off,
42:22
bring that back up, and that way you're still not that way, you
42:24
can still save Punk and Kenny Omega for another show, and you and I
42:30
aren't complaining about it, because hey, we can look at that real life
42:32
drama they had, plus their history, and I'm on board with that match,
42:37
and that's just to me, match making, simple building one on one,
42:42
and it just kind of frustrates me when I look at it, like
42:45
they're still booking super indie shows on a setting that is a WrestleMania type setting
42:52
for a potentially turning point show in their company history. Last question I want
42:58
to ask you before we preven predict how much is the All Out Show a
43:01
week later taken away from this card in your mind? If anything, I
43:06
didn't even know there was one, Like I think y'all out show? I
43:09
mean, if I'm putting a show on it for a ninety thousand people and
43:14
I might have a show right after it, Like, how can I possibly
43:16
make that an event worth watching? Like unless you do something crazy, unless
43:24
you have a Bash at the Beach moment or something of that ilk where we're
43:29
like, holy cow, I can't believe that happened. Now I have to
43:31
watch All Out? But what are you gonna build? What are you gonna
43:36
what storylines are you building for All Out? This short returnaround time. It's
43:40
just it's completely baffling to me the way they're setting this up. And it's
43:45
like, now, next year when you don't have all in and you're doing
43:49
it all out? Are you also damaging the brand name of all out by
43:53
putting it so close to all in? It's it's a it's a weird dichotomy.
43:58
I would have never done it. Well, see how it plays out.
44:00
You know, two weeks from now we'll be talking about the all out
44:04
All in aspect to this entire thing and how it plays towards the future of
44:08
AW I wouldn't have played it this way, but it's very well possible.
44:12
Even with the way that the card is looking. Then a week from now,
44:15
Doctor Trey and I sit here and go, this is a fantastic show,
44:16
one of the best the year, such a great atmosphere, a lot
44:19
of fun to watch, and we forget about the build. But heading into
44:23
it, it's like, man, you have this amazing opportunity in the build
44:28
has been lackluster and last minute, and that's what's disappointed. As a wrestling
44:32
family, wants to see some good long term storylines that bringing all together,
44:37
So we'll see where it goes. This Sunday All in London, England,
44:42
Wembley Stadium, expecting over eighty two thousand people to be in attendance. It's
44:45
being build as the biggest event in wrestling history, Doctor, and might I
44:52
add Doctor Trey and I are recording this during Dynamite, so it's very well
44:55
possible that matches on this card could be changed. Let's start with one that
45:00
could be changed. It's the pre show match as Aussie Opened defend the ROH
45:05
World Tag Team Championship against MJF and Adam Cole. Aussie opened his due to
45:08
be taken on the Hardy Boys. As Doctor trying to record this, we
45:12
have no idea who's won that match, so as possible, could be the
45:14
Hardy Boys versus m Jeff and Adam Cole. Wish to me would be more
45:16
of a all in match than the one with Assie Open, and I'm a
45:21
big fan of Aussie Open. With that said, I really like this idea
45:24
of the main event battling for the tag team Championship and the pre show.
45:29
This is also a way to get fans in their seats. You could tell
45:32
great business by aw here that there is concerned that fans will not be in
45:36
their seats for the start of this show. That's why they're putting MJF and
45:39
Adam Cole on the pre show because they want fans to check it out.
45:42
With that said, I'm gonna take m jeff and Adam Cole to become the
45:44
new ROH World Tae Team Champions. Doctor Try. By the way, it
45:47
also gives Adam Cole at MJF five hours to recover. He gives them time
45:52
to recover for the main match matches. I am going this is where I
45:55
think we're going to differ a little bit. I am going to take Aussie
46:02
Open to retain their tag teams holes by disqualifications. I think MJF and MCLE
46:07
get the win by DQ, but I can't see them putting the Ring of
46:12
Honor Tag Teams titles on those two guys when they're fighting for the world title
46:15
and then you have nothing on that Ring of Honor brand for tag teams.
46:19
So I just can't seem MJF and MCLE being on a Ring of Honor YouTube
46:23
show. So I will take Assie Open to retain their tag titles by disqualification.
46:29
Next match here is for the AW World Tag Team Championship is FTR Defense
46:31
against the Young Bucks. I'm going to take the Young Bucks in this one,
46:36
Doctor Trey. I think with Cash Wheeler's recent arrests, and potential legal
46:39
troubles. They may look to get the titles off of FTR rather than keep
46:44
them on them when this is going on. So I'm gonna take the Bucks.
46:46
I'm taking the Bucks for the cash wheeler thing. And then also,
46:50
like, if you're going to get to a point where we do the elite
46:53
versus c mftrs, that what you called them left, that's right, that's
46:58
where they go by c MFTR, CMFDR. Somebody's gotta played the bad guy.
47:02
So if the Bucks win, FDR gets mad. Now you can have
47:07
FDR, the FDR and CM punk to play the heels against the elite.
47:12
Get more buy in for that, and it makes it more compelling. So
47:15
I will take the Bucks to win the World Tag Team title as well.
47:19
Next match, here's a car Sheeta versus Tony Storm versus Sorea versus Doctor Burt
47:22
Baker dm D in a four way match for the aw Women's World Championship across
47:25
sheet of defending Doctor Trey. Who do you like in this one? I
47:30
am taking Sirea to win because I think if she has the belt, then
47:34
she can have the outcast kind of play buffers. That way, she doesn't
47:37
have to work as much. I think this was their idea to transition the
47:40
belt off Tony Storm and put it on Sorea to get more eyes on the
47:44
product. Plus, then you can build to Britt Baker and Sorea again.
47:47
So I will take Sirea winning the world title. Women have women's title in
47:52
her homeland of England as well. I love that call, Doctor Trey.
47:55
I would love to go with Sorea, but I'm gonna go with doctor Burt
47:59
Baker. Dm D. I think they gotta put the championship back on her,
48:01
But I love your pick for Surrey. You almost convinced me to make
48:04
a switch, but I'm gonna stick with my pick here with Doctor Burt Baker.
48:07
Next match is Darby Allen and Staying taking on Swerve Strickland and R Fox
48:12
of the Mobile Embassy and a tag team coffin match. I'm so happy for
48:15
swarving r Fox getting this opportunity. Dat straight, Who do you like in
48:17
this one? By the way, why do the baby Faces go attack somebody
48:22
in their building because they were they attacked Nick Wayne? Yeah, but you
48:27
that's basically got home invasion and baby Faces don't do well other than Steve Austin.
48:31
I thought it was eye for an Eye. I liked it. To
48:35
me, it's was it's one of It's just old school me. I'm taking
48:37
Stinging Darby Allen because Sting doesn't lose in AW so I take Stinging Darby Allen.
48:43
There are rumors that this could potentially be his last match, staying Darby
48:45
Allen or with Sting. Excuse me, I'm gonna take Singing Darby Allen and
48:50
get the victory as well. By the way, is that all letdown for
48:53
you? If this is Sting's last match, that it's And notice I think
48:57
the survn aar fox. But if this is things less match, would you
49:01
want to go out and kind a bigger, bigger match. Yeah, But
49:07
I guess maybe the stage is what they're thinking that this could be his last
49:10
match on I mean, this is just pure speculation, but I agree the
49:13
match. No, I think Darby Allen versus Sting would be a great way
49:17
for him to go out. But I think they're just thinking at the stage
49:20
of Wembley Stadium, eighty thousand is a potential here. Okay, it's Corbyn,
49:24
It's Barren Corbyn. Kurt angle to me what it is? Yeah,
49:28
No, I hear you. Next match is the Golden Elite Coda Boushi,
49:30
Kenny, Omegan, Hangman and and Paige checking on Cano Skate Takeshka, j
49:35
White and Juce Robinson, all those two of Bullet Club Gold and a six
49:37
man tag team match. I'm going to take the Golden Elite Coda, Kenny
49:42
and Hangman. Yeah, I'm taking the Golden lead as well. You don't
49:45
have Cod to come in and with d have Cod to lose, even though
49:47
I do like Bullet Club Gold, but just on this stage, and plus
49:52
it can always build up to Omega and to Keshka as well, So I'll
49:54
take the Golden and Elite getting the win. Next match here is the Stadium
49:59
Stampede match. Just Eddie Kinkson Orange, Cassie, Chuck Taylor, Trent Breta,
50:01
Penta El, Sarah Mieto, and to be announced because Ray Phoenix is
50:06
reportedly injured. They'll be taking on John Moxley, Caudiocass and Only Wheeler.
50:09
You to the Blackpool Combat Club and three mystery partners. Again. They may
50:14
have announced the rest of this match while we're recording this, so we don't
50:19
know. But Doctor Trey, who do you like in this one? Somebody's
50:22
getting Mirro in this match. That's all I can think of right now.
50:24
Mirro's on one side again or the other, because he doesn't really have anything
50:29
on this on the show today. So I'm taking Blackpool Combat Club because I
50:34
just don't think you can have them lose two best friends, and as much
50:37
as I love Chuck and Trent, they're just not on the level of the
50:40
rest of Blackpool Combat Club. I like him taking Blackpool Combat Club and the
50:45
three Mystery Partners to get the victory in Stadium Sampane. This is gonna be
50:49
a lot of fun. I love that they're doing this match at Wembley.
50:52
Next match is a dream match of sorts, depending on if you think it's
50:55
a dream match. I think it is. I don't know if Doctor Trey
50:58
feels the same way, but we'll lost taken on Chris Jericho. I'm gonna
51:01
take will Osprey getting the victory. Yeah, I mean it's a dress.
51:07
Sorry, I was thinking about who I picking this match, but yeah,
51:09
on paper, it's a dream matches is like generational type stuff and two guys
51:15
that have kind of came up very similar the business being high flyers then putting
51:19
on some size and getting a little bit more brutes. Yeah, I really
51:23
want to pick Jericho's I think he needs a win, not that for legacy,
51:27
is just for his standing in AW. But once again, it's will
51:30
Osprey in the United Kingdom that crowds would go nuts for him. So I'll
51:32
take will Osprey as well. Next match, here's for the real World Championships.
51:37
See him Punk defends against Samoa Joe. I'm gonna take see him Punk
51:40
in this one, Doctor Trey, because I feel like he challenges for the
51:44
AW Championship a week later at All Out in Chicago. Yeah, I'm same
51:50
thing for me as much as I love. By the way, have you
51:52
watched sust the medal yet he take? No, I've heard it's very good.
51:55
It's very good, even though Joe doesn't talk, which is disappointed because
51:59
his voice would be great in the role. But it's it's it's really entertaining.
52:01
I'm taking Cmpunk as well because I don't know the last time Joe beat
52:06
CM Punk was it was probably a ring of honor then, right yep?
52:08
Yeah yeah, Sampunk did not ever defeat Samoa Joe until recently the Ownhart Tournament
52:14
in a w sows. I think it was Owen three in his career.
52:17
Okay, so I'll take Sampunk as a guy to get back to even so
52:21
to massages ego a little bit, and then finally the main event for the
52:24
AW World Champion, Doctor Trey MJF defends against Adam Cole. Uh. This
52:30
one, This one, I don't know about you. This one's a little
52:31
bit hard for me because I've kind of been going back and forth on it
52:35
because I could see it going both ways. I could see either one of
52:37
the guys turning on the other guy. I'm gonna take MJF to retain because
52:44
I don't want to say it's a been a lackluster title run, but I
52:49
think he needs some signature title wins to really establish his legacy as champion,
52:54
So I'll take MJF getting the win at all Out. I don't think there's
52:59
any wrong with you saying that it's been a lackluster run, because I would
53:01
agree with you. It's not where I thought it would be so far,
53:06
it's been below my expectations, slightly below my expectations. With that said,
53:12
I'm going to take MJF to retain and take on CM Punk a week later
53:16
at All Out so both of us taking MJF dot I'm kind of surprising that
53:22
not to mention, and once again, this is that near sightedness of AW,
53:25
like, we're going to get if that, if that comes through first,
53:28
we're getting in JF and Punk within a week. It's the World World
53:32
Championship stuff. That's the It's like it's predictable in that sense, which which
53:37
one makes it, which match gets lessened by the other one. That's the
53:42
like, are we so like after the show? Are we like, oh
53:45
my god, MJFLE is great, Oh yeah, we got to see him
53:47
Punk match coming up? Or are we like I can't believe they're doing this
53:52
because that CM Punk MJF match based on their history would be amazing. But
53:55
we've had less than a less than a week build up to it, so
54:00
it's gonna be like they're kind of shooting themselves in the foot for all out
54:02
based on having all in so soon. Yeah, I would love to know
54:06
behind the scenes, like how did this? Why is all in and all
54:08
out around the same time. I don't know if there's a story out there
54:12
right now. I felt like I had read at some point that this was
54:15
one of the only weekends that AW could have Wembley Stadium, and I may
54:19
be incorrect in that, but I would have never done the biggest show in
54:23
the history of your promotion then a week later doing another show that you know.
54:30
Doctor Trey and I debate all the time, like is this the Kuda
54:32
grah for aw or is it double or nothing? I don't believe it's revolution.
54:37
I don't believe it's full gear. I feel like it's either all out
54:39
or double or nothing. Which one is their WrestleMania. I don't know,
54:44
it's it's a it's a scenario we never have seen really play out all that
54:49
much. Ww we did it once in recent memory that I could think of.
54:51
I think they did Summer Slam one week and then a week later.
54:53
They did Payback in twenty twenty, but twenty twenty was really weird and fucked
54:58
up, so maybe that's why they I did it. Here we are three
55:00
years later, and they did not have eighty thousand people in attendance for summers
55:04
them. They had like ten, and those were production workers and then people
55:07
on a screen in Devinwi. So I don't know. I'm Nonetheless, I'm
55:13
excited, Dr Trey. I'm excited to see this crowd. I'm excited to
55:15
see the energy. I'm excited to see the audience. I expect it to
55:19
be a very fun and entertaining show. I hope a week later we're sitting
55:22
here going man, all in exceeded expectations and then some. Despite the poor
55:29
built it's weird. I have to kind of preference myself when I watched the
55:32
show and knowing that, look, if this crowd is anything like Cardiff,
55:38
it like you and I are. Theorisaid it was a fantastic show because the
55:42
crowd energy will pump it up, just like the show in Puerto Rico.
55:46
Like on paper as solid show, but then the crowd energy just brings it
55:52
up even more. So I kind of like, I always want to watch
55:55
the show with no crowd volume, Joe, so I can see all right
55:59
on my or not, because I know the crowd's gonna hype me up even
56:01
more. So I'm really really looking forward to that as well, Like it's
56:06
gonna be a great environment. The UK deserves this so much and I really
56:12
just hope that it hits all of their expectations because this is you know,
56:19
all hands on deck, all eyes on the product, and you're gonna have
56:22
more fans checking this out for AW than they've had on any other show,
56:25
So you got to bring your A game and then follow up with another A
56:30
game because you have All Out a week later. Yeah, and we will
56:32
recap and review All In on next week's edition in the podcast on August thirty,
56:37
first episode seven h seven will recap interview all In, and then we
56:40
will also preview predicted WWE Payback and AW all Out. So there's a lot
56:45
going on heading into this Labor Day holiday here in the United States. I
56:51
expected to be a very fun and historic weekend for all the wrestling. I'm
56:54
excited for them. They deserve this. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
