- 2:47Speaker 2: your career and your sporty background.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Yeah, no problem. So I have worked in travel for

- 2:54Speaker 4: worked with you at Europe.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yes, I do for years.
- 2:57Speaker 4: But I've also worked for a few adventure travel companies,
- 3:00Speaker 4: so I'm currently working for Explore Worldwide and I absolutely
- 3:03Speaker 4: love adventure. I am very lucky to have climbed killiman
- 3:08Speaker 4: Jarro climbed Tubcow, which is the highest mountain in North Africa.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I managed to convince twenty five friends to come up
- 3:14Speaker 4: that with me. Walk to ever a space camp just
- 3:16Speaker 4: before lockdown. And I've also done quite a lot of running.
- 3:21Speaker 4: I didn't get into running until I was well into
- 3:23Speaker 4: my forties, but I've done over two hundred park runs,
- 3:26Speaker 4: most of them here at Fakeston, and about six marathons.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I don't want to do any more of that. That
- 3:33Speaker 4: was too long, The training for it takes too long.
- 3:35Speaker 4: But yeah, that's me.
- 3:36Speaker 2: That's it great. Oh well, what a I don't know,
- 3:39Speaker 2: Supergirl by the sound of it. It's great. Okay, Oscar,
- 3:42Speaker 2: let's bring you in there, Oscar. How older you tell
- 3:46Speaker 2: us a little bit about yourself.
- 3:47Speaker 5: I'm twenty two. Yeah, I actually work in this building.
- 3:49Speaker 5: It's an architect I'll do yeah, absolutely love it. Work
- 3:51Speaker 5: profile architects, doing a lot of really really interesting stuff
- 3:54Speaker 5: around folks and heish at the moment.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and what's your background? How did you get into
- 3:59Speaker 2: sort of architecture.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Oh well, ever since I was you know, boy, I
- 4:02Speaker 5: was like, okay, what's the name of the people that
- 4:03Speaker 5: make the buildings?
- 4:04Speaker 6: And I want to be those people?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Okay? Was you sort of like a wizard with Lego
- 4:07Speaker 2: when you was little?
- 4:09Speaker 5: Everything that anything to do building blocks, anything that.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I was just really absolutely okay? And how long have
- 4:15Speaker 2: you been here in the glass works?
- 4:17Speaker 6: A year and a half now? Actually? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 6: you guys all the time walking through here.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, right, so you know where to come this morning?
- 4:25Speaker 6: Absolutely?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Okay. Let's now switch our attentions to we go to
- 4:29Speaker 2: mylo now, Milo, how are you mylo? Come in Milo?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Right in that? Yeah? Good, I'm good and it's lovely
- 4:35Speaker 2: to see you all. So tell us a little bit
- 4:37Speaker 2: about yourself, your background, and what you're up to nowadays.
- 4:40Speaker 7: Well, I left school, I went straight, traveling straight to America,
- 4:44Speaker 7: then to Australia, had a great time and have come
- 4:47Speaker 7: back since and started a job working in London doing
- 4:50Speaker 7: a broadcast PR.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Broadcast PR. Now, that's interesting, and so do you work
- 4:57Speaker 2: for a radio company or agent?
- 5:00Speaker 7: So I work for an agency that works like a
- 5:02Speaker 7: brand funded newsroom. So we work with brands and organizations,
- 5:06Speaker 7: a lot of charities. I do a lot of charity
- 5:07Speaker 7: work to get them on to TV and radio to
- 5:11Speaker 7: kind of widen their voice.
- 5:13Speaker 6: And yeah, it's very very fun.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Oh good, do you actually get into the studio.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Yeah, I come into the studio a lot. I'm used
- 5:20Speaker 7: to being on the other side of the microph but
- 5:21Speaker 7: not this side, so it's good to have a switch up.
- 5:24Speaker 7: But yeah, we have studios in our offices, so working
- 5:27Speaker 7: in the studio a lot.
- 5:28Speaker 2: All right, excellent, okay, I ever sure turn come in.
- 5:30Speaker 2: How old are you either?
- 5:31Speaker 8: Ok I'm sixteen at the minute and I work in
- 5:35Speaker 8: nuclear power.
- 5:36Speaker 9: I'm electrician for Dungeon s B Power Station.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Okay, yes, And that's a bit of a journey, isn't it,
- 5:43Speaker 2: going around there every day?
- 5:44Speaker 9: Yeah, a bit of a trick.
- 5:45Speaker 2: But plays the bills, gives mum the housekeeping. Right. But
- 5:52Speaker 2: you've you're doing your sort of apprenticeship now, aren't you.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So whereabouts are you're doing all you're learning?
- 6:00Speaker 8: Oh?
- 6:00Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:00Speaker 8: So they send us to college in the National College
- 6:03Speaker 8: for Nuclear in Somerset. So all the different power stations
- 6:06Speaker 8: from running the UK will send all.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Their apprentices So so what do you do youre a
- 6:12Speaker 2: flat or room or something.
- 6:13Speaker 9: No, it's a bit like Uni Uni.
- 6:16Speaker 8: You get your own room, come and bathroom as well,
- 6:19Speaker 8: and then just share a kitchen.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Oh that's all, lord, It's all part of growing up
- 6:23Speaker 2: on the learning how to cook and when you come
- 6:26Speaker 2: home you do the washing up for your mum and
- 6:28Speaker 2: that sort of thing. Great, So okay, now, so there
- 6:31Speaker 2: we've done. We've we know who's in the studio. We've
- 6:34Speaker 2: introduced everybody. So before we play another song, I just
- 6:38Speaker 2: want to bring you back in. Now. You're all together
- 6:41Speaker 2: here today looking absolutely stunning in your pink T shirts.
- 6:45Speaker 2: But there is a reason that you're jumping out of
- 6:47Speaker 2: a playing so tell us.
- 6:48Speaker 3: What there is.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:50Speaker 4: In twenty twenty three, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
- 6:55Speaker 4: I had found a dimple in the top of one
- 6:57Speaker 4: of my breasts when I was actually on an a
- 7:00Speaker 4: holiday in Spain, cycling around Spain. I was in a
- 7:03Speaker 4: very well lit bathroom, probably wouldn't have spotted it at home,
- 7:06Speaker 4: and sort of leant forward to brush my teeth and
- 7:09Speaker 4: spotted that the top of one breast was dimpling different
- 7:11Speaker 4: to the other. So when I got back, I went
- 7:14Speaker 4: to my doctor and asked for a mammogram, went for
- 7:18Speaker 4: the mammogram, and when I went back the week later
- 7:20Speaker 4: for the results, they said they'd already booked me in
- 7:23Speaker 4: for a mastectomy, so to remove one breast because the
- 7:26Speaker 4: tumor was so large they couldn't do a lumpecto me.
- 7:30Speaker 4: And then just in November just gone for risk reduction
- 7:33Speaker 4: because my risk of developing cancer again was quite high.
- 7:37Speaker 4: They removed the other breast and did double reconstruction from
- 7:41Speaker 4: my stomach. He asked me to put a stone on,
- 7:44Speaker 4: so I had a bit more goodly and turned.
- 7:54Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I took a big chunk out of my stomach and
- 7:56Speaker 4: turned it into two breasts. So I've got a whole
- 7:58Speaker 4: new body that I don't recognize.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Right, Okay, that's brilliant, And I think at this point
- 8:03Speaker 2: it's important to talk about cancer. And as you say,
- 8:07Speaker 2: you discovered it almost by a mistake, and if you
- 8:09Speaker 2: hadn't gone to Spain on that lovely sunny holiday, who
- 8:11Speaker 2: knows how long it would have been. I'm a great
- 8:14Speaker 2: advocate for a cancer UK's you know, Jay, I've been
- 8:19Speaker 2: around knocking around Race for Life for over twenty years.
- 8:21Speaker 2: But we used to do a thing called Man on
- 8:23Speaker 2: the Run, which where it was just like men only
- 8:26Speaker 2: and it was a bit embarrassing at first, but I
- 8:29Speaker 2: used to get up on stage in front of all
- 8:31Speaker 2: these men and say, guys, you've got to feel yourself.
- 8:34Speaker 2: You've got to ob see if there's any lumps. Absolutely,
- 8:37Speaker 2: But rather than go on about myself here, I want
- 8:40Speaker 2: to bring Adrian in now, because Adrian, are you also
- 8:44Speaker 2: a cancer survivor aren't you?
- 8:45Speaker 3: I am indeed yes.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Tell us about your story.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Well, I was diagnosed. I wasn't feeling well for about
- 8:55Speaker 1: six months and I just didn't feel myself and I
- 8:59Speaker 1: went to the They said, oh, no, you'll be it
- 9:03Speaker 1: seemed okay, he said, so we'll send you a test out.
- 9:06Speaker 1: So they sent me a test out, sent it back
- 9:08Speaker 1: and within a week I'd had an appointment straight away
- 9:12Speaker 1: up at Kent in Canterbury Hospital to have the the
- 9:18Speaker 1: camera a shine yeah, And immediately after that came out,
- 9:27Speaker 1: they told me I had bow cancer and they had
- 9:30Speaker 1: to operate more or less straight away. So within I
- 9:35Speaker 1: mean a lot of people moan about the NHS, but
- 9:37Speaker 1: they were absolutely fantastic with me and within two weeks
- 9:41Speaker 1: three weeks I was in the hospital. I had it
- 9:45Speaker 1: the tumor removed.
- 9:48Speaker 6: And.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I've been recovering ever since. Really, I was lucky enough
- 9:53Speaker 1: that it was only on stage two and it was removed.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And yeah, you're okay, I'm all okay, And I would
- 10:03Speaker 1: say I'm fighting fit, But.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Well, I will say you do lead very active life, Adrian,
- 10:08Speaker 2: and that I'm sure that doing being outward as well,
- 10:11Speaker 2: the same as Jay, it does help, you know, giving
- 10:13Speaker 2: you fit. It just makes you feel the benefits of
- 10:17Speaker 2: the mental health. But okay, so enough about that, So
- 10:20Speaker 2: I'm going to play. We've got a few jump related
- 10:23Speaker 2: songs in here, and our next one is a classic
- 10:26Speaker 2: from nineteen eighty three is Van Halen and Jump. Well,
- 10:52Speaker 2: another cracking jump song nineteen eighty three. And they got
- 10:56Speaker 2: their parachutes on here and they're warming up for the
- 10:58Speaker 2: big jump. So we're gonna wind out. Now, how how
- 11:01Speaker 2: they feel about jumping out of a plane. So let's
- 11:05Speaker 2: speak to either first, either you come right in either,
- 11:08Speaker 2: How are you fancy this jumping out of a plane?
- 11:11Speaker 8: It was all right, I think the first I remember
- 11:12Speaker 8: when Mum texted me saying I fancy jumping out of
- 11:15Speaker 8: the plane. Immediate reaction was no, I'm all right, and
- 11:18Speaker 8: then she said to me, you know your brothers are
- 11:20Speaker 8: doing it.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I was like, oh, so you were the last to
- 11:24Speaker 2: find out.
- 11:24Speaker 8: Yeah, no pressure the Yeah, it kind of kind of
- 11:27Speaker 8: goed me into it, saying, you know you're gonna give it.
- 11:30Speaker 9: Made fun of that. Got two brothers doing it, you're
- 11:32Speaker 9: kind of have to now.
- 11:33Speaker 2: But you've all had some experience of kind of skydiving,
- 11:38Speaker 2: haven't you.
- 11:38Speaker 9: Indoor skyd indoors skydiving.
- 11:40Speaker 2: You all go up on the same day to do that.
- 11:42Speaker 8: Yeah, it's million keys or just outside I think, And
- 11:45Speaker 8: it happened once when I was very young. But yeah,
- 11:48Speaker 8: we went all together and it was a great friend It.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Was a good experience.
- 11:52Speaker 9: Yeah experience.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Okay, so let's come over to Eiver now either Now
- 11:58Speaker 2: Iver's over here, isn't he? That's the Yeah, come in
- 12:00Speaker 2: either Milo, sorry mylow come right. So how do you
- 12:11Speaker 2: feel about jumping out of a plane? Yeah?
- 12:13Speaker 6: Good.
- 12:13Speaker 7: I remember when we did the indoor one the first time,
- 12:15Speaker 7: I kind of wet myself and.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That's why it just bluet.
- 12:22Speaker 7: It wasn't a pretty sight. But I got a chance
- 12:24Speaker 7: to reading myself when we did it again in Milton
- 12:26Speaker 7: Keys against So yeah, I have done it twice once
- 12:29Speaker 7: and a half will say, yeah, but how.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Long are you actually in the tube or the tunnel thing?
- 12:35Speaker 2: Is it just a few seconds or quite a long time?
- 12:37Speaker 7: You maybe get like five minutes in there kind of
- 12:39Speaker 7: and he kind of spins you around and they do
- 12:41Speaker 7: their kind of cool tricks. The instructors are really cool.
- 12:43Speaker 7: They can kind of do backflips and a lot of
- 12:45Speaker 7: the cool stuff. We just kind of hover it there
- 12:47Speaker 7: and wait for something to happen. But no, it's a
- 12:50Speaker 7: lot of fun, and I'm really excited to jump out
- 12:52Speaker 7: of an actual one this time. Yeah, a bit scared,
- 12:55Speaker 7: but I remember when my mum told me I was.
- 12:57Speaker 7: I was like, yeah, something that you have to do
- 12:58Speaker 7: it bucket.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, yeah. It's good in effect
- 13:02Speaker 2: that you're all doing it. You've all got each other
- 13:04Speaker 2: to sort of lean on if one of them is
- 13:06Speaker 2: getting a little bit down and you know you've got
- 13:08Speaker 2: other three can cheer them up. So okay, so Oscar,
- 13:11Speaker 2: you're turned. Do you feel about jumping out of the plane?
- 13:14Speaker 6: Amazing?
- 13:14Speaker 5: It was top of my bucket list for the last
- 13:16Speaker 5: twenty years, really, even since I realized you could do it.
- 13:18Speaker 6: It was absolutely something I wanted to do.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Have you sort of do you know any friends that
- 13:22Speaker 2: have done it or any if you've got any experience
- 13:24Speaker 2: at all, So I'd be totally new, new to legally new.
- 13:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and I've not heard anyone from from my side
- 13:30Speaker 5: of the world doing it, so it we have really
- 13:32Speaker 5: good fun to document it, and especially if we're doing
- 13:34Speaker 5: it for such a good cause.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Right, excellent? Okay, So Janey coming to you now, you
- 13:39Speaker 2: seem to be the adventurer, the cause of all the
- 13:42Speaker 2: problems in this family, roping your children into things. Was
- 13:47Speaker 2: this something that the idea just came like a bolt
- 13:49Speaker 2: out of the blue, or did you think we've got
- 13:51Speaker 2: to do something together? What can we do?
- 13:53Speaker 4: It's exactly that, keV. I felt like it's been, you know,
- 13:56Speaker 4: a cancer journey and having had that last operation, that
- 14:00Speaker 4: now means that, you know, there's no chance of me
- 14:03Speaker 4: getting breast cancer again. That feels like kind of the
- 14:07Speaker 4: end of the journey. And I wanted something to market.
- 14:09Speaker 4: It felt like it was appropriate to do something together
- 14:12Speaker 4: and to do something for breast cancer charity. My mum's
- 14:16Speaker 4: had breast cancer as well, so it's something that you know,
- 14:18Speaker 4: it is literally close to our hearts and I, as
- 14:22Speaker 4: I said before, I've done marathons, I've climbed mountains, all
- 14:26Speaker 4: kinds of things, and I thought, well, what could I
- 14:27Speaker 4: do that would be different. I didn't feel like I
- 14:30Speaker 4: could ask people to sponsor me to do the Race
- 14:32Speaker 4: for Life, although I will be doing it again this year,
- 14:34Speaker 4: of course. But and then I spotted that you could
- 14:38Speaker 4: jump out of a plane for charity, and I thought, wow,
- 14:40Speaker 4: I wonder if they'll all come and do it with me.
- 14:42Speaker 4: And I was absolutely delighted when all of them said
- 14:45Speaker 4: they would. I'm a little bit concerned that they're so
- 14:47Speaker 4: long that they'll really have to pick their feet up
- 14:50Speaker 4: when we get to the part.
- 14:53Speaker 2: My daughter's done it and I went out there on
- 14:55Speaker 2: the day and the plane is tiny. You'll have your
- 14:58Speaker 2: knees right up under your tune and then you really
- 15:01Speaker 2: have to double up when you jump out. But she,
- 15:05Speaker 2: like everybody, was nervous. And I've known a few people
- 15:08Speaker 2: that have been in this studio and have done it
- 15:10Speaker 2: and come back and said, oh, it was great, and
- 15:12Speaker 2: others have come back in. I know a fellow presenter
- 15:15Speaker 2: in Radio Ashford. He was really really nervous about it
- 15:18Speaker 2: and when he did it? He just said that is
- 15:20Speaker 2: it never again?
- 15:21Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 15:21Speaker 2: But my daughter she wanted to get back in the
- 15:23Speaker 2: plane and go back up there. Yeah. Yeah. So the
- 15:27Speaker 2: logistics of it, did you are you doing this locally?
- 15:30Speaker 2: We're doing it in Headcorn Yes, where my daughter did.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yes. Yeah.
- 15:34Speaker 4: And Breast Cancer now have a relationship with the people
- 15:38Speaker 4: at Headcorn so that they can help you organize it,
- 15:41Speaker 4: which is what they've done, and that's they've sent us
- 15:43Speaker 4: the lovely pink t shirts that we're wearing today.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Right, And is there you've been through a tough time medically?
- 15:50Speaker 2: Was there any issues? Did you have to take a
- 15:53Speaker 2: medical Did that make any difference at all?
- 15:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 4: It's funny, isn't it, Because you fill in the medical
- 15:59Speaker 4: form and the boys fall them in as well, and
- 16:02Speaker 4: it says if you have to tick yes at all
- 16:05Speaker 4: on anything, then you need to get a doctor to
- 16:07Speaker 4: complete a form for you. And one of the questions
- 16:11Speaker 4: was have you ever been diagnosed with cancer? And you
- 16:14Speaker 4: know what those forms are like like. If it says
- 16:15Speaker 4: have you ever felt a little bit lightheaded? You can
- 16:18Speaker 4: just tick no even if in your life you have,
- 16:20Speaker 4: because no one's going to know. But I didn't feel
- 16:22Speaker 4: like I could tick no against have you ever been
- 16:24Speaker 4: diagnosed with cancer? So I ticked yes, and the doctors
- 16:28Speaker 4: filled in at the Guildhall Street surgery is filled in
- 16:31Speaker 4: the form for me to allow me to be able
- 16:33Speaker 4: to do it because I'm not any kind of increased
- 16:36Speaker 4: risk because of what's happened to.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Me, right, Okay, so it's interesting. So they at least
- 16:41Speaker 2: they are looking after your best interest.
- 16:43Speaker 6: Definitely, they really are.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, well we're going to take another little break now,
- 16:47Speaker 2: So we've got a song now. I found this one
- 16:49Speaker 2: and it's Miloe in the corner there. He likes this one.
- 16:54Speaker 2: And this is a song that's come from nineteen eighty two,
- 16:58Speaker 2: but I only found it in recent news. I don't
- 17:00Speaker 2: remember it being played out in nineteen eighty two. But
- 17:03Speaker 2: this always reminds me of when Breakfast TV started and
- 17:07Speaker 2: there was a big thing about the weather man and
- 17:09Speaker 2: the weather ladies and they used to have a helicopter
- 17:12Speaker 2: flying over London. So this is the Alan Parsons project
- 17:16Speaker 2: and I in the sky.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Well at nineteen eighty two. It is probably my favorite
- 17:21Speaker 1: year of all time for music. And I don't know this.
- 17:23Speaker 2: One, no, no, I'm sure it might have just come
- 17:25Speaker 2: back to you. But yeah, it's a classic, classic title
- 17:29Speaker 2: and it really is a nice gentle song.
- 17:31Speaker 3: So here we go, Okay, there we go.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I in the sky there and we've just been talking
- 17:49Speaker 2: about that song and we think really it was more prominent,
- 17:52Speaker 2: more famous in America. But it's nice to know that
- 17:55Speaker 2: some of the youngsters love that sort of music.
- 17:57Speaker 7: You know.
- 17:57Speaker 3: That's great.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Okay, So lastly link Now we are running out of times.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Half an hour gone already, so we're just gonna have
- 18:03Speaker 2: a quick word with the boys before we chat with mum.
- 18:06Speaker 2: So Oscar, what's next for you? I mean, do you
- 18:08Speaker 2: do you play a lot of sport yourself?
- 18:11Speaker 5: I used to play a lot of sport and then
- 18:13Speaker 5: the Sports Center unfortunately, Yeah, hopefully we're going to bring
- 18:16Speaker 5: that back up again. I heard there's news that that's
- 18:17Speaker 5: that was fantastic, but it was football, basketball, everything to
- 18:20Speaker 5: do with the tall and at the same time, actually.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Do you know what I remember that? I remember? I mean,
- 18:25Speaker 2: your mum's been This is the first time we had
- 18:27Speaker 2: your mum in the studio, but she's been with interview
- 18:30Speaker 2: driver on the phone or recorded, and I do remember
- 18:33Speaker 2: that was it one of them? Jay was really fond
- 18:36Speaker 2: of basketball. Was that you, Oscar?
- 18:38Speaker 6: Was me? Yeah? Absolutely, okay.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Did you do that with just your friends or was
- 18:42Speaker 2: that the Saints.
- 18:43Speaker 6: Actually a bit both? Yeah, I'm quite familiar with the Saints.
- 18:47Speaker 5: Did most of it at the Harvey made a lot
- 18:48Speaker 5: of friends, you know, on the court, that kind of
- 18:51Speaker 5: that kind of vibe.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, right. Do you know what I was at
- 18:53Speaker 2: the Harvey Grammar School yesterday. There's a there's a sports
- 18:57Speaker 2: academy called Next Generation and they have a fundraising day
- 19:02Speaker 2: and they are taking two teams of nine, ten and
- 19:07Speaker 2: eleven year olds to Barcelona. So they were doing all
- 19:10Speaker 2: sorts of things, you know, cake stands, raffles and that.
- 19:13Speaker 2: But they had a five a side game going for
- 19:17Speaker 2: twelve weren't all the same players, but they had a
- 19:21Speaker 2: five side game going from eight o'clock in the morning
- 19:23Speaker 2: to eight o'clock in the evening. And you paid. You
- 19:26Speaker 2: had to pay ten pound an hour for that hour.
- 19:29Speaker 2: So basically they were generating one hundred pounds an hour.
- 19:32Speaker 2: And in the afternoon they had a couple of companies
- 19:36Speaker 2: come in a sponsored They said, right bank sponsorship, one
- 19:38Speaker 2: hundred pounds, we get some staff. Even if they can't
- 19:40Speaker 2: kick a ball. We get them in and play football
- 19:42Speaker 2: and that was great. I've got an interview coming up
- 19:44Speaker 2: in the second half with a man called Harry Nunn
- 19:47Speaker 2: and who used to go to the Harvey anyway, So
- 19:51Speaker 2: let's hope the Sports center comes back. But I will
- 19:53Speaker 2: just say that the Saints are one of the biggest
- 19:55Speaker 2: growing clubs I've come across in the last few years.
- 19:59Speaker 2: There really are. Yeah, so good. So you keep up
- 20:01Speaker 2: that sport, right, So we're going to talk to We're
- 20:05Speaker 2: going to go to Milo. Is that your name, Mala,
- 20:09Speaker 2: got the names right? Okay, mylo. Now tell us a
- 20:13Speaker 2: little bit just about what it was like on your
- 20:15Speaker 2: travels in America and Australia, because I've got a little
- 20:18Speaker 2: note here that you actually did a bit of football coaching,
- 20:21Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 20:22Speaker 7: I did? Yeah. I went to camp in Massachusetts, summer
- 20:25Speaker 7: camp for kids, and I did a lot of life guarding,
- 20:28Speaker 7: but I was also a football coach out there for
- 20:30Speaker 7: those those kids around. It's a lot of fun, very remote,
- 20:34Speaker 7: so kind of away from your phone, away from everything,
- 20:37Speaker 7: and kind of yeah it was. It was a lot
- 20:39Speaker 7: of fun coach a bit of basketball as well, but yeah,
- 20:42Speaker 7: mostly football.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Good Oh that's good. So right now then either to you.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Now you're down in Somerset, this college that you're you're
- 20:52Speaker 2: staying at, I wuld you get any chance to do
- 20:54Speaker 2: any sport, any links to any local clubs or anything
- 20:56Speaker 2: anything at all?
- 20:57Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 20:57Speaker 8: Yeah, the field behind the campus is where the local
- 21:03Speaker 8: cricket team play.
- 21:04Speaker 9: And yeah, I was going to say, I think my
- 21:06Speaker 9: career now.
- 21:07Speaker 8: Reflects how good all was at sport because growing up
- 21:09Speaker 8: always wanted to be a cricketer.
- 21:11Speaker 9: No, I'm an electrician.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Not everything works out, does it?
- 21:17Speaker 7: I know.
- 21:17Speaker 2: So it's cricket season coming up. Do you think you'll
- 21:22Speaker 2: join the club down there or of the campus got
- 21:24Speaker 2: their own little their own little team.
- 21:26Speaker 8: Campus doesn't have a team. It's a shame, but yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 8: I think I think my chance is pretty good. You know,
- 21:30Speaker 8: a local fifth division village team. I reckon I's not writing.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it right, s excellent. It's good here that
- 21:37Speaker 2: you keep it all up because I was listening back
- 21:39Speaker 2: to some of the interviews Jay that we did, and
- 21:42Speaker 2: and there was one interview that we did on the
- 21:44Speaker 2: phone where it was during COVID and the object of
- 21:48Speaker 2: the interview was to see how your boys were coping
- 21:51Speaker 2: three active youngsters, you know where they climbing up the
- 21:55Speaker 2: walls and but it went all right, didn't they?
- 21:59Speaker 6: Thankfully?
- 22:00Speaker 4: They were all teenagers in COVID and we were absolutely
- 22:04Speaker 4: utilizing that hour of exercise, getting out on bikes and
- 22:07Speaker 4: running and anything to kind of get the energy out.
- 22:11Speaker 4: But yeah, they all seem to have turned out all right.
- 22:14Speaker 2: keV oh good, Yeah they are. Yeah. I don't know
- 22:16Speaker 2: what you put in the food. It's like they fall
- 22:19Speaker 2: asleep in a grow bags.
- 22:23Speaker 6: Giants.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're run it out of time now, So
- 22:30Speaker 2: it's really the last word is with you. Are you?
- 22:34Speaker 2: Are you? Are you personally nervous about this skydive.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Or you I wouldn't commit that in front of these.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Are you looking forward to it?
- 22:43Speaker 6: Yeah? I'm looking forward to it.
- 22:45Speaker 4: I suspect there'll be some nerves when we're up there,
- 22:47Speaker 4: but actually we won't. We won't let them, so, will
- 22:50Speaker 4: we We'll all just do it.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Will you when you're.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Up in the plane, were you set the example and
- 22:55Speaker 2: go out first? Or will you be hanging on at
- 22:56Speaker 2: the end. It's a shame that. Yeah, we could just
- 23:03Speaker 2: picture it. It won't happen that there was an exit big
- 23:06Speaker 2: enough for all four of you to jump out, you know,
- 23:10Speaker 2: holding hands like that.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Would be amazing.
- 23:12Speaker 6: I don't think it's likely.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Now, you're very brave, all of you. Just just to
- 23:17Speaker 2: get in the plane and get up there. Okay. So
- 23:19Speaker 2: it's been a long journey. It's been a tough journey
- 23:21Speaker 2: in the last year or so, Jay, so it's time
- 23:23Speaker 2: to just reflect and say a few thank yous to
- 23:27Speaker 2: people that have helped you.
- 23:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Well, I mean big thank you to all of the
- 23:31Speaker 4: boys obviously for looking after me and my husband David
- 23:34Speaker 4: and mum Sheila, who lives in Fakeston now as well
- 23:38Speaker 4: and has been brilliant at looking after me after operations
- 23:43Speaker 4: and things. My work explore worldwide could not have been
- 23:46Speaker 4: more supportive, and my brilliant team there are fantastic, really
- 23:50Speaker 4: lovely and I'm just looking forward to jumping on the
- 23:53Speaker 4: twenty ninth of March, fingers crossed. The weather's good for us,
- 23:57Speaker 4: and a big thank you to everyone who's all aready
- 24:00Speaker 4: sponsored us for that jump. We've already beaten our target
- 24:03Speaker 4: and thrilled to bits and I'm really hoping everything goes fine.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah, let's tell us, tell us just the last little
- 24:10Speaker 2: bit and then tell us a bit about your target
- 24:13Speaker 2: you've set up. You have to give you page which
- 24:16Speaker 2: hopefully you'll tell us how we can You know people
- 24:18Speaker 2: can donate, but what did you have in mind? Is
- 24:20Speaker 2: four of your beer in mind that you know what
- 24:23Speaker 2: was your target?
- 24:24Speaker 4: The target was two thousand pounds and we're already nearly
- 24:27Speaker 4: at two and a half thousand, which I'm super toughed about.
- 24:30Speaker 4: And the page is called it's a just giving page
- 24:34Speaker 4: called Jay Hopkins I'm spelled Jae Hopkins and sons. But
- 24:38Speaker 4: if you can't find it that way, I'm quite easy
- 24:41Speaker 4: to find on Facebook or LinkedIn, and I've got posts
- 24:43Speaker 4: on both of those that link to it.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Right well, anything else, boys, anything, if you want to
- 24:48Speaker 2: add any thank you for yourselves that you want to
- 24:50Speaker 2: add it all.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Yes, thanks for having us, really.
- 24:55Speaker 9: Making us do the jump making it's a.
- 24:59Speaker 5: Great opportunity, honestly, thank you very much, Mum. Thank you
- 25:01Speaker 5: for having us on the on the show as well.
- 25:03Speaker 6: Excellent, thank you, no, thank you, appreciate it. Thank you
- 25:06Speaker 6: very well.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, it's been a breakthrough morning because
- 25:11Speaker 2: we've never had four people on the microphone before and
- 25:15Speaker 2: it's so lovely to see you all, and Jay, I
- 25:17Speaker 2: just want to say that you must be so proud
- 25:19Speaker 2: are they? They were a cheeky lot, this these three,
- 25:23Speaker 2: but you must be so proud and your husband of course,
- 25:27Speaker 2: how they've turned out and how they're supporting you, and
- 25:30Speaker 2: it just I can't think of anything else to add
- 25:34Speaker 2: except that, you know, we just wish you all the best,
- 25:39Speaker 2: Is that right, Adrian?
- 25:40Speaker 1: We certainly do. Yeah, And let's know how it all
- 25:43Speaker 1: goes on the twenty ninth, and we'll let the listener
- 25:46Speaker 1: know exactly how it all went and.
- 25:50Speaker 2: How many of you came back.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I didn't want to say I didn't want to say that.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, that's it now, So thank you so much
- 25:58Speaker 2: all of you for coming in. And we're going to
- 26:00Speaker 2: move on there with a song from the rem Brands
- 26:02Speaker 2: and I'll be There for You, which just about sums
- 26:04Speaker 2: up this whole family.
- 26:06Speaker 7: M h.
- 26:21Speaker 1: There you go, there's the rem Brandts and I'll be
- 26:23Speaker 1: there for you. Obviously the signaty tune from friends talking
- 26:28Speaker 1: to friends. Things were real friendly lot were they?
- 26:32Speaker 2: What a big family we've had.
- 26:34Speaker 1: To the scenes were a bit too too low in
- 26:36Speaker 1: there for them. They were such tall and yeah, taking
- 26:39Speaker 1: a couple of photographs and I mean, you're not the
- 26:41Speaker 1: smallest of people, but you look even mum was nearly
- 26:46Speaker 1: six foot as well, so yeah, very tall family.
- 26:49Speaker 2: There's one point that I did want to make on it,
- 26:52Speaker 2: and it's very important actually, is that the four of
- 26:55Speaker 2: them are jumping out of planes and they're raising money
- 26:57Speaker 2: and they've got over two thousand pounds, but it's not
- 26:59Speaker 2: true to jump out of a plane, and they are
- 27:02Speaker 2: all funding it themselves. So that's four people, you know,
- 27:05Speaker 2: funding it themselves to raise two thousand pounds. So it
- 27:08Speaker 2: just shows you how dedicated that they are to this course.
- 27:12Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean, I mean, I know Jason, like
- 27:15Speaker 1: she said, she had breast caster before, and I think
- 27:19Speaker 1: once you've had cancer, any cancer charity is worthwhile because
- 27:25Speaker 1: they now say one in two people that you know
- 27:27Speaker 1: that have probably got cancer, So you should be all
- 27:30Speaker 1: right in here.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I've actually so you should be okay.
- 27:33Speaker 1: But yeah, you know, you've got a room of ten people,
- 27:37Speaker 1: five of them will possibly get cancer and it's you know,
- 27:40Speaker 1: every penny that can raise towards her trying to find
- 27:44Speaker 1: a cure for it is definitely worthwhile.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Certainly, when I compare a race for life, which is
- 27:50Speaker 2: for families. Now for everybody, there's always the question put
- 27:53Speaker 2: your hand out if you've been touched by cancer, and
- 27:56Speaker 2: there's just like nearly everybody, yeah, puts up. In fact,
- 28:00Speaker 2: Star lost my sister to cancer, which is sad, and
- 28:03Speaker 2: so we're all we've all been affected by it. And
- 28:07Speaker 2: the fact that these people with his family and anybody
- 28:10Speaker 2: that's doing anything volunteering or doing anything for a cancer
- 28:14Speaker 2: charity really really need to be congratulated.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I mean, I know a couple of people going through
- 28:20Speaker 1: it at the moment, my best best mates not he's
- 28:23Speaker 1: got a form of it, and you know, he's going
- 28:26Speaker 1: through a bit of a bad time at the moment.
- 28:28Speaker 1: So it's up, Spud. You'll keep fighting, You'll be You'll
- 28:31Speaker 1: be fine. I'm sure you will. You're a fighter as well.
- 28:34Speaker 2: So yeah, okay, So we've got a little while left,
- 28:39Speaker 2: So I don't know if you want to do any
- 28:40Speaker 2: sport or just
