- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:19Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark Movies fan. I'm Wendy
- 0:22Speaker 1: and I'm a reformed Hallmark hater. Today we begin a
- 0:26Speaker 1: series of reviews of fan favorite fall movies with a
- 0:31Speaker 1: review of Falling for You. Hey, if you want to
- 0:34Speaker 1: connect with us outside of the podcast, we'd love for
- 0:36Speaker 1: you to follow us on Instagram. You can find us
- 0:38Speaker 1: both at Girls Gone Hallmark for All Things Hallmark and
- 0:43Speaker 1: at Megan and Wendy for Just Life with Us. You
- 0:46Speaker 1: can also jump into our Facebook group Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 0:50Speaker 1: There's a link in the show notes. It's been kind
- 0:52Speaker 1: of light over there. I would say the last couple
- 0:54Speaker 1: of weeks, we gotta get in there and shake things up.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I think I think after today they're going to have
- 1:00Speaker 1: some things to say to you. Wendy. Okay, Oh, send
- 1:04Speaker 1: your emails to Megan. That's her synopsis. Oh right, radio
- 1:07Speaker 1: only because Wendy never reads her emails. Leave and if
- 1:09Speaker 1: you send it directly to her, attention Wendy, I'm getting better. Yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 1: put in the subject attention Wendy. We hate Wendy. It's okay. Uh.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Synopsis for Falling for You. Radio host Lacey played by
- 1:21Speaker 1: Taylor Cole, is hosting a bachelor bake off to raise
- 1:24Speaker 1: money to save her radio station. Her radio station. When
- 1:29Speaker 1: her star bachelor backs out, she less Zach played by
- 1:33Speaker 1: Tyler Hines, a visiting businessman, to fill the spot. Hey
- 1:36Speaker 1: O news and notes. Yeah. This movie originally premiered on
- 1:41Speaker 1: October sixth, twenty eighteen. I gotta say, you know, we
- 1:45Speaker 1: use IMDb a lot to fill in our notes, so
- 1:49Speaker 1: on and so forth. This movie scored a six point
- 1:52Speaker 1: six out of ten rating on IMDb. Did you compare
- 1:55Speaker 1: that to anything else, like what? Well, I don't know.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I don't know if that's high on IMD? I mean
- 2:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't want like that's like a D. That's not
- 2:02Speaker 1: the rating I want. But compared to a well loved
- 2:08Speaker 1: movie like what's What's Three Wise Men and a Baby
- 2:11Speaker 1: on IMD? I don't know. You pull it up and
- 2:13Speaker 1: see seven point seven out of ten? Still still pretty low, right, Okay, fine, whatever,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I just I just like to include the number in here,
- 2:24Speaker 1: especially for a movie that's older. I just think it's
- 2:26Speaker 1: an interesting but I was just curious, especially because this
- 2:30Speaker 1: is a quote end quote fan favorite right, six point
- 2:35Speaker 1: six is pretty low. I don't disagree. Al Right, you're
- 2:38Speaker 1: gonna take the next line because I will butcher all
- 2:41Speaker 1: of the words in it. Oh No. This movie was
- 2:43Speaker 1: filmed in Squamish, British Columbia. Some scenes are filmed at
- 2:46Speaker 1: Quest University, in Squamish's library and atrium, as well as
- 2:51Speaker 1: the Sunflower Bakery and cafe. There's literally one challenging word
- 2:55Speaker 1: in there, Squamish. It would have taken me four tries
- 2:57Speaker 1: to say yay. Tyler Hines plays visiting businessman Bachelor's Zach Malone.
- 3:02Speaker 1: This was his debut movie for the Hallmark Channel. If
- 3:06Speaker 1: you can believe that. I went on to Our Girls
- 3:10Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark Instagram recently because I was unsure of the
- 3:15Speaker 1: number of movies that Tyler has done for Hallmark, and
- 3:20Speaker 1: so I asked the fans, because you know those highees,
- 3:22Speaker 1: they know their stuff, right, And I was like, how
- 3:26Speaker 1: many movies has he done? I got pages and pages
- 3:29Speaker 1: and pages of responses, and they all fell between like
- 3:34Speaker 1: ten and sixteen. I still don't have an accurate number.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And then somebody messaged me and said, you know, you
- 3:39Speaker 1: can look on IMDb yet I know that, but on IMDb.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I cannot decipher, like what's a Hallmark movie and what's
- 3:47Speaker 1: not unless I click every single title to look at
- 3:51Speaker 1: the picture to see if it has Hallmark branding. And
- 3:54Speaker 1: my mama doesn't have time for that. So I thought
- 3:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to the Heinees and Heignies are gonna
- 3:59Speaker 1: tell me. I still do not know. I think it's sixteen.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I think it's fifteen with a cameo my Christmas Family Tree. Yes,
- 4:07Speaker 1: can I just make a note? Yeah, Haul Out the
- 4:09Speaker 1: Holly has a six point one rating on IMDb, so
- 4:13Speaker 1: I am just going to tell you right now. Ratings
- 4:16Speaker 1: are garbage. Okay, all right, back to Tyler Hines. Of
- 4:20Speaker 1: course he's gone on to become our king of Hallmark.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Remember when we did that bracket? Yeah, and my nose
- 4:26Speaker 1: has since then, he's debuted with X number of movies
- 4:29Speaker 1: for the channel. Because I really don't know, I think
- 4:31Speaker 1: it's fifteen or sixteen. I don't know. Somebody email us
- 4:34Speaker 1: Megan and Weindy at gmail dot com. I even tagged
- 4:37Speaker 1: him on Instagram. I was like, please, I hope you
- 4:38Speaker 1: would slide into our DMS and tell us confirm with us. Yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 1: but no, nothing from him. Taylor coleplays Lacy. She has
- 4:45Speaker 1: sixty four acting credits, including a Loha Heart from this
- 4:48Speaker 1: year and Long Lost Christmas from twenty twenty two. Do
- 4:52Speaker 1: you remember a little series called Summerland starring one Lori Laughlin?
- 4:57Speaker 1: I do. It was on the CW. I loved that show,
- 5:00Speaker 1: did you one season? This one lived in a house
- 5:02Speaker 1: on the beach and she was a surfer but had
- 5:04Speaker 1: like a teenage kid. Yeah, and bring that correct something
- 5:06Speaker 1: like that, And summerlind is a real life place on
- 5:09Speaker 1: the coast between here and Santa Barbara. That's relevant because
- 5:12Speaker 1: that was Taylor Cole's first acting gig. She played Erica
- 5:16Speaker 1: Spaulding for twenty one episode. Yeah, I don't remember her.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I literally remember nobody but Lori Laughlin. And I feel
- 5:22Speaker 1: like there was a guy who had like longer, dark
- 5:25Speaker 1: blonde hair. Yeah, he was like the surfer boyfriend or
- 5:28Speaker 1: husband or something like that. Right.
- 5:30Speaker 2: You know?
- 5:30Speaker 1: It says if she played in twenty one episodes, but
- 5:33Speaker 1: in my mind, I thought that was only on one season.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Could there have been more than twenty episodes in one season?
- 5:39Speaker 1: Twenty two episodes is a pretty typical season length for
- 5:42Speaker 1: an hour long show. For any show like West Wing
- 5:45Speaker 1: had twenty two episodes a season. Okay, pre streaming, that's
- 5:49Speaker 1: how long shows. I know. I'm just used to like ten. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 1: because they waited to binge it. We lived ten. We
- 5:54Speaker 1: live in a different world now, we do. This movie
- 5:56Speaker 1: was based on a book called Baking for Keeps by
- 5:59Speaker 1: Jessica Gilmore. Yeah, I agree with you. I'm just saying
- 6:04Speaker 1: I hate it. You hate what Baking for keeps? Yeah?
- 6:08Speaker 1: I know. I don't like these names. I don't like.
- 6:11Speaker 1: That's not the problem. Actually I hate the story. We'll
- 6:14Speaker 1: get into it, oh, okay, all right. The script was
- 6:17Speaker 1: written by Jua Botkin, who has twenty previous writing credits,
- 6:20Speaker 1: including this Summer's Loves, Greek to Me and hashtag xmis
- 6:24Speaker 1: and Our Italian Christmas Memories from last year's Countdown to Christ.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Do you remember what we said about Jua Botken? I do,
- 6:32Speaker 1: because I said it. I think she writes stories with
- 6:35Speaker 1: complicated relationships. Yes, this movie was not one of them.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I agree, But yes, I agree. I think she's come
- 6:41Speaker 1: a long way since since this movie. Yeah, I actually
- 6:46Speaker 1: don't blame the writing. Oh my god, we're gonna get
- 6:50Speaker 1: into it, okay. Peter Delwiz directed. Now do you remember
- 6:54Speaker 1: who Peter Delowize is. I'm picturing Dom Delawe. So are
- 6:59Speaker 1: you no? Is that their dad? Is that his dad?
- 7:03Speaker 1: I didn't well, Okay, while you look that up, I'll
- 7:06Speaker 1: tell you Peter Delowize he was on the original twenty
- 7:10Speaker 1: one Jump Street. He has eighty directing credits, including last
- 7:14Speaker 1: year's Honk Kah on Rye and tons of one Calls
- 7:17Speaker 1: the Heart episodes. He also has fifty five acting credits,
- 7:20Speaker 1: including the unauthorized Full House Story where All Roads lead
- 7:24Speaker 1: back to Lori Laughlin and This movie. Peter Delowize is
- 7:28Speaker 1: also the brother of Michael Delowize, who played TJ on
- 7:31Speaker 1: Gilmour Girls. Hey yeah, oh look they are the sons
- 7:36Speaker 1: of actors Dom Delaize and Carol Arthur. Okay, so it's
- 7:42Speaker 1: a stacked family. Who knew TJ was? You didn't know that? Oh?
- 7:47Speaker 1: I knew that. I didn't. Yeah. I love that he's
- 7:50Speaker 1: such a boso on that show. I know, you know what.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I was trying, lovable Boso to be clear to me too.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I was trying and I'm deep into Gilmour's watch right now.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I have not reached the season where TJ comes into
- 8:03Speaker 1: the picture. But do you remember the episode where he's
- 8:06Speaker 1: like he's telling Luke, He's like, I'm doing something here
- 8:09Speaker 1: and he says the word and I can't remember what
- 8:12Speaker 1: it is. Does this sound familiar at all? Uh? I
- 8:15Speaker 1: mean it sounds like every conversation TJ has. It's like
- 8:19Speaker 1: I'm lacking here. I don't know what he says. I
- 8:21Speaker 1: can't remember. It's gonna drive me crazy until I see
- 8:23Speaker 1: the episode. Oh, I'll report back, I will report back.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Do you know that there are a lot of Hallmark
- 8:30Speaker 1: fans who listen to our podcasts who are also fans
- 8:32Speaker 1: of Gilmore Girls. That makes sense, They're parallel universes to me. Yeah,
- 8:36Speaker 1: there's a lot of conversation in our dms on Instagram
- 8:39Speaker 1: about Gilmore Girls over In fact, Great Smoking Mountains stars
- 8:45Speaker 1: Dean's girlfriend, Lindsay Wow Six Degrees of Hallmark. Finally, this
- 8:51Speaker 1: movie also stars Lenny Evans as Patty, Randy Alexander Asbeth,
- 8:54Speaker 1: and Chris Shields as Golden Bachelor Ben. You know, I thought,
- 8:59Speaker 1: thank you for laughing that these are Weddy's notes. I
- 9:02Speaker 1: was just reading them, so it took me a minute,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but I got there. It's great. It's a great line,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I mean. And also, justice for Brandy Alexander. Why is
- 9:10Speaker 1: she always in these small, tiny roles? She never has
- 9:13Speaker 1: a lead role? Never? Yeah, justice for Brandy. Let's talk
- 9:17Speaker 1: first impressions of falling for you? Okay, you want me
- 9:22Speaker 1: to go first. You're looking at me. I'll tell you
- 9:25Speaker 1: what mine is. Oh my god, we get it. There's
- 9:27Speaker 1: a bachelor bake off happening. Is this all Lazy talks
- 9:32Speaker 1: about on her stupid radio show. Yeah, I'm not tuning
- 9:35Speaker 1: into that.
- 9:36Speaker 2: My first impression is, please stop doing movies that have
- 9:41Speaker 2: a fundraiser element when you bozos clearly have no idea
- 9:45Speaker 2: how to run a fundraiser.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, fundraisers. Talk to a PTA. Mom. Surely someone
- 9:52Speaker 1: on staff is married to someone who was in the
- 9:55Speaker 1: PTA who could like, hold your hands through how these
- 9:57Speaker 1: things work, with the number one rule being you're not
- 9:59Speaker 1: gonna hand out raffle style tickets as the ticket for
- 10:02Speaker 1: entry to your thing without any sort of record keeping
- 10:04Speaker 1: of who's handed you cash in a randomushot for them. Wow,
- 10:09Speaker 1: got right into it. There shall we talk about what
- 10:12Speaker 1: we liked? Okay? While it was all fake news, fall
- 10:17Speaker 1: I gotta say I was in love with all of
- 10:20Speaker 1: the fall stuff everywhere. Loved the faux fall. Loved it
- 10:24Speaker 1: and you hate faue fall. I do, but I do.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And it was noticeable, like it grabs your eye. You're like,
- 10:29Speaker 1: that's not real. Yeah. I loved the ambiance that it
- 10:33Speaker 1: gave it. We've been complaining that many of our fall
- 10:35Speaker 1: movies just have like the fall Harvest banner on the corner,
- 10:38Speaker 1: but have nothing to do with fall. This did not
- 10:40Speaker 1: do that, and I liked it. M I agree, I agree.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I think it's just because we don't get that kind
- 10:47Speaker 1: of fall here in southern California. So like a couple
- 10:50Speaker 1: of girls that live we did last year. Remember, like
- 10:53Speaker 1: the leaves changed last year. It was so weird. No,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I don't remember. In my neighborhood. You pulled in, You're like,
- 10:57Speaker 1: there's fall bolliage here, and then oddly, like all the
- 11:00Speaker 1: leaves fall on the ground in my neighborhood. And my
- 11:02Speaker 1: husband and I would go for a walk and he
- 11:03Speaker 1: was like, well maybe we will look here for the
- 11:05Speaker 1: rest of our lives. That he didn't go that far,
- 11:07Speaker 1: But your husband does have that kind of voice either.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I have a few likes. Tell me what you liked
- 11:14Speaker 1: about this movie. Okay, I have a feeling your lists
- 11:16Speaker 1: is small. There are little things. It's not that small,
- 11:19Speaker 1: but there's like moments that I loved. I loved Zach
- 11:21Speaker 1: bringing Lacy a cookie rather than flowers for their lantern
- 11:24Speaker 1: walk day. Mm hmm. I'd prefer that mean too, but
- 11:28Speaker 1: then I would be like, do you think I'm fat
- 11:30Speaker 1: because you think I would prefer a cookie over flowers?
- 11:34Speaker 1: Which I would prefer either of them to be quite honest.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I loved the sweet moment when their kiss was interrupted
- 11:40Speaker 1: and then Lacey makes it happen anyway. Mm mmmmm. I
- 11:44Speaker 1: love Tyler's cozy cream cardigan. Oh my god, a chunky cardigan. Yeah,
- 11:49Speaker 1: he wore a cardigan a lot in this movie, Yes,
- 11:52Speaker 1: a lot. It really brings home the fall for me.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Did your husband wear card agains like that? Like a
- 11:57Speaker 1: button up cardigan? But I wish you would. It's a
- 12:00Speaker 1: good look. Mine doesn't either. I also love the idea
- 12:03Speaker 1: of a lantern walk. That's a fun holiday event. I agree.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I think that is such a cute event. Yeah, and
- 12:10Speaker 1: you could totally do that as a fundraiser like a
- 12:12Speaker 1: cell stuff. Would it not be real cute to do
- 12:18Speaker 1: why why don't we think of these things like for
- 12:20Speaker 1: our schools. Oh, that's a good thing. And finally, I
- 12:24Speaker 1: love the Kobe Kayat song at the end of the movie.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Oh you don't see her name Kobe Cala. Oh yeah,
- 12:31Speaker 1: I know, I liked. I like that song. I have
- 12:32Speaker 1: real music in a Hallmark movie. I have a fun
- 12:34Speaker 1: sorry about her. Several years ago, my husband and I
- 12:38Speaker 1: went up to Santa Barbara for the weekend, and we
- 12:39Speaker 1: say that at this really bougie resort, it was a
- 12:43Speaker 1: special getaway and there was some sort of like function
- 12:48Speaker 1: happening at the I think it was like a business function,
- 12:52Speaker 1: but it was their entertainment and they had her there.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Oh wow, and her like stage was literally like by
- 12:58Speaker 1: our room, so we could sit out on our balcony. Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Did they wheel her out in a mob cart? They
- 13:04Speaker 1: did not. They did not. So swift Easter Egg, tell
- 13:07Speaker 1: me what you like? Okay, So fresh face Tyler is
- 13:11Speaker 1: real charming in this movie. But I gotta say I
- 13:14Speaker 1: like the more like rough and tough Tyler. Sure, I
- 13:18Speaker 1: liked Tyler. I liked Tyler's evolution, but he was not
- 13:21Speaker 1: unwelcome on screening. I agree, I agree, and I could
- 13:24Speaker 1: see why I watched this movie twice. I could see
- 13:28Speaker 1: why his fans really fell for him in this movie,
- 13:32Speaker 1: because to me, this was a real Taylor Cole movie.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Like she was the lead and he was like, you know,
- 13:38Speaker 1: some newbie coming in. But like there were a lot
- 13:41Speaker 1: of like little little things that he did, just the
- 13:45Speaker 1: way that he would say things, or he gave a
- 13:48Speaker 1: lot of really good reactive faces to like stuff she
- 13:52Speaker 1: was saying, and the way he talks out of the
- 13:54Speaker 1: side of his mouth. Yes, he said Lucy. At one time,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I was like, whoam Yeah, I find that very try
- 14:01Speaker 1: me too. I read that the character of Lacy in
- 14:04Speaker 1: the book was kind of a hot mess. I don't know.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I really did a deep dive into this book for
- 14:10Speaker 1: some reason, and they did that a little bit in
- 14:14Speaker 1: this movie, where she had like her disorganized file folder
- 14:17Speaker 1: and her inability to organize a fundraiser. But I actually
- 14:21Speaker 1: thought she came off as a real no it all,
- 14:24Speaker 1: which drove me crazy. M it's bake off, not bank
- 14:28Speaker 1: saying all that whole like stuff drove me nuts. Yeah. Finally,
- 14:35Speaker 1: I really loved the bachelor brothers Max and Lucas Buckman,
- 14:40Speaker 1: and they were played by Madison Smith and Matt Weisser
- 14:42Speaker 1: thought they were super funny together. They played the perfect
- 14:45Speaker 1: like competitive brothers, like when they were doing that interview
- 14:48Speaker 1: and the one was like I'm making mom's pumpkin bars
- 14:51Speaker 1: and whatever, do you know what I'm talking about? I
- 14:53Speaker 1: just thought they were good well and I loved the
- 14:55Speaker 1: plot twist that their mom did on their stuff. That
- 14:57Speaker 1: was a great, perfect moment, very cute, perfect button on that.
- 15:01Speaker 1: That's what I liked about it. Would you wish for? Okay?
- 15:05Speaker 1: If anything can go wrong for Lacey, it does in
- 15:08Speaker 1: this movie. Like her radio station loses funding, the original
- 15:13Speaker 1: Bachelor backs out, she loses the bakeoff location. Was that her?
- 15:18Speaker 1: That was her fault though? Right? She loses the bakeoff
- 15:22Speaker 1: location because she doesn't have the money to pay for Yeah,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I couldn't remember exactly what it was. That doesn't surprise
- 15:30Speaker 1: me though. And then Zach bounces before the bakeoff like
- 15:32Speaker 1: you's gotta go do this job. How do you feel
- 15:35Speaker 1: about storylines like this where like everything goes wrong? I
- 15:38Speaker 1: hate it. I always hate it. But I think it's
- 15:41Speaker 1: a lazy plot device. You know, Uh, non writers in
- 15:47Speaker 1: glasshouses shouldn't throw stones. I don't know the first thing
- 15:49Speaker 1: about writing a script. Let me say my wish because
- 15:53Speaker 1: it ties into this. Okay, one of my very large
- 15:56Speaker 1: wishes that poor Taylor Cole didn't have to play this
- 15:59Speaker 1: clearly smart, driven woman behaving like a bumbling idiot who
- 16:02Speaker 1: doesn't understand the basic math behind income minus expenses equals profit. Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 1: this is every once in a while we get these
- 16:09Speaker 1: fundraiser movies and it's like she's planned this fundraiser and
- 16:14Speaker 1: all of a sudden, halfway through planning it, she's like, wait,
- 16:16Speaker 1: what do you mean I have to pay for the space?
- 16:19Speaker 1: What do you mean that buying beautiful flower arrangements is
- 16:21Speaker 1: going to take away from the money we're making. How
- 16:24Speaker 1: much money are you making on a bachelor bakeoff that
- 16:28Speaker 1: you can rent this beautiful space and have wedding style
- 16:30Speaker 1: flowers and catering And what is happening? And why are
- 16:35Speaker 1: people paying to attend a bachelor bakeoff? Because she was
- 16:38Speaker 1: selling all of these tickets? Who's going to pay for
- 16:42Speaker 1: the opportunity to bid me? If that's where your income
- 16:45Speaker 1: comes from, is not the ticket? There to be something else?
- 16:50Speaker 1: If you want to have the bachelor bakeoff, you need
- 16:52Speaker 1: to have something else that these people are paying for, right,
- 16:54Speaker 1: what are they buying a ticket to, I don't know,
- 16:57Speaker 1: a ticket to? Then give you more money and the
- 16:59Speaker 1: old many people who are going to actually be paying
- 17:02Speaker 1: you money or the winning bids. Right, So you need
- 17:05Speaker 1: to have multiple streams of incomes set up at this event.
- 17:08Speaker 1: You need to be selling food. You need to be
- 17:12Speaker 1: I don't know, wlaying carnival games, having yeah, something something, Yes,
- 17:18Speaker 1: it was people buy a meal ticket or something. It was.
- 17:22Speaker 1: It didn't make sense to me. And then she had
- 17:24Speaker 1: to change course because, oh, I don't have a budget.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Oh incomes my budgeting software Night in Shining Armory. This
- 17:39Speaker 1: is a perfect example of plot via AI. And I
- 17:41Speaker 1: understand that the movie is based on the book that
- 17:43Speaker 1: I have not read, and I don't know how much
- 17:45Speaker 1: of the plot elements came directly out of the book.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But look, she's a small town radio host trying to
- 17:52Speaker 1: save her station. He's the big, bad engineer whose software
- 17:55Speaker 1: resulted in her budget being cut. Let's talk about this.
- 17:57Speaker 1: He didn't cut her budget. Oh my god, I have
- 17:59Speaker 1: that I put yo, lazy Zach did not cut your budget.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Be mad at the person who actually made the decision
- 18:06Speaker 1: to pay a budget off money, and someone made the
- 18:09Speaker 1: decision that your radio show needed to be one of
- 18:12Speaker 1: the things he had nothing to remember that person who
- 18:16Speaker 1: made a comment about all they do is yell, I'm sorry,
- 18:19Speaker 1: we're back, y'all. I did put a limitter in on
- 18:21Speaker 1: the back end so that it doesn't actually like scream
- 18:24Speaker 1: through your headphones. You're welcome, but you get what you
- 18:28Speaker 1: pay for here a girl's gone Hallmark Wow. So look,
- 18:32Speaker 1: there's so many pieces that don't add up for me,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and there were ways for him to be there for
- 18:38Speaker 1: her that weren't so on the nose of I can
- 18:43Speaker 1: write a budget, I can write you a budget. Come on, No,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I know, I know. That's that's what I have to say. Okay,
- 18:52Speaker 1: let's talk about did you see that? Did you see
- 18:54Speaker 1: anything in this one? Megan? No, I have a list.
- 18:57Speaker 1: When Zach pulls up to the bakery, he gets out
- 18:59Speaker 1: of the car like he's in town for the first time.
- 19:02Speaker 1: He's going to buy a cup of black coffee. Right,
- 19:04Speaker 1: he gets out of the car and his pants like
- 19:07Speaker 1: at the bottom are super flood city like they're like
- 19:09Speaker 1: all his pants are all caught up in his crotch
- 19:13Speaker 1: and as he's been sitting in the car. Yes, and
- 19:15Speaker 1: then then the next scene when he walks into the store,
- 19:17Speaker 1: they're like down at regular then tugged him down yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, that's so real, very relatable. Yeah.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I just thought it was funny. That's all speaking of
- 19:25Speaker 1: black coffee. So much coffee talk in this movie. I
- 19:30Speaker 1: feel like they're like, Okay, one of the elements of
- 19:33Speaker 1: a fall movie, we need to have lots of coffee. Yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 1: it bugged me. Well, here's what I wonder. This is
- 19:43Speaker 1: the second movie in a short period of time where
- 19:46Speaker 1: the female character has the love of sweet baked goods. Look,
- 19:51Speaker 1: I don't want to be like the whatever the opposite
- 19:55Speaker 1: of the woke police are, But like, do women always
- 19:59Speaker 1: have to like like it just feels like such a
- 20:02Speaker 1: uh give us another personality trait? Yeah, I mean, I
- 20:06Speaker 1: just I understand that he's like on black coffee and
- 20:09Speaker 1: green Jala and she's like whipped cream and cookies. Yeah.
- 20:16Speaker 1: And I feel like it's supposed to be like a
- 20:18Speaker 1: direct parallel to her, like fly by the seat of
- 20:20Speaker 1: the pants. I don't have my act together. I don't
- 20:23Speaker 1: love it. Yeah, I like my coffee with seven chiggers
- 20:26Speaker 1: and lots of cream and it's delicious, which is a
- 20:29Speaker 1: fine way to like things, but it's not doesn't say
- 20:33Speaker 1: anything about your personality. Yeah, yeah, I agreed, Megan. Okay, okay, okay.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I kind of tried to do this at the beginning,
- 20:42Speaker 1: but Taylor Cole's like intense weatherman inflection when she was
- 20:48Speaker 1: on the radio Welcome Back to the Bachelor bake Off,
- 20:52Speaker 1: it just drove me crazy. It was like, and this
- 20:55Speaker 1: might be a local station about like Canex ten seventy,
- 20:58Speaker 1: Like did your dad listen to like Cane seventy in
- 21:00Speaker 1: the car? I was, okay if I six forty, growing
- 21:02Speaker 1: up one hundred percent, like now back with the weather
- 21:05Speaker 1: or now back with the traffic? Like who's listening to
- 21:08Speaker 1: her show? Yeah? I hated it. Radio show get well
- 21:12Speaker 1: and there's nothing interesting. All she ever does is promote
- 21:16Speaker 1: ye the bake off. And then she interviewed the guy,
- 21:19Speaker 1: the apple picker who broke his arm. But like, yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 1: that's interesting. I want to hear local fair I want
- 21:23Speaker 1: to hear interviews. I want to hear things like that. Yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 1: which made me wonder because my I don't live in
- 21:32Speaker 1: a small town, but I live in a smaller city,
- 21:36Speaker 1: we don't have a local radio station. Like where do
- 21:39Speaker 1: these towns exist that there's local radio happening?
- 21:42Speaker 2: Oh?
- 21:43Speaker 1: I don't know that they. I also wondered, was the
- 21:47Speaker 1: radio or was the program that she was gonna go
- 21:49Speaker 1: work for supposed to be like this American life? Oh yeah,
- 21:53Speaker 1: you know, yes, like storytelling. Anyway, moving on, when they're
- 21:59Speaker 1: at the Hathaway Lodge, Airbnb whatever this place was been
- 22:03Speaker 1: and breakfast that her aunt was running, and they would
- 22:06Speaker 1: have like a counter full of baked goods. They have
- 22:11Speaker 1: the sign that said like coffee and baked goods, but
- 22:15Speaker 1: the like ant sign. This is a real me problem.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Not okay, you know when you try to figure this out,
- 22:22Speaker 1: you know when you make the sign where it's like
- 22:24Speaker 1: a three and then a line through it, it's like
- 22:27Speaker 1: a lazy amber stand? Is that the word the three
- 22:31Speaker 1: was backwards? It bugs me. That's how it's supposed to be.
- 22:36Speaker 1: No get out, hold on. If I were to draw it,
- 22:41Speaker 1: it's gonna look like this. That's a backwards three, right, Yes,
- 22:47Speaker 1: that's the way I would do it. Okay, Okay, they
- 22:50Speaker 1: had it like this. Are you sure they had a three?
- 22:54Speaker 1: They had an actual three I'm gonna pull a movie up.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Who said it was a backward Wait? Hold on now,
- 23:01Speaker 1: I got myself all confused. Hold on here it is
- 23:04Speaker 1: I coposit at the exact right spot. It's a regular three.
- 23:11Speaker 1: You are correct. Okay, they did it wrong. Okay, it's
- 23:15Speaker 1: wrong on their end, right, I would agree with you
- 23:17Speaker 1: that it is wrong. I have scrubbed through this movie
- 23:20Speaker 1: to find the exact scene and they're lazy ampersand is
- 23:25Speaker 1: incorrect Hallmark prop intern, that's fail. Okay, all right, all right.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Last thing, I got a real lol when Zach is
- 23:35Speaker 1: talking to the radio intern which his name escapes me
- 23:39Speaker 1: right now, but he's like, oh, you do you need
- 23:42Speaker 1: to start small like a podcast, and I just was like, yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 1: I mean I think on paper it seems real easy
- 23:50Speaker 1: to start a podcast, but there is a lot of
- 23:51Speaker 1: work that goes into the back end of it. Just
- 23:53Speaker 1: sa shiated is when that little intern dude came back,
- 23:56Speaker 1: he's like, I made a podcast, and my husband was watching.
- 23:58Speaker 1: He's like, oh, yesh's that easy? Like you come back
- 23:59Speaker 1: the next on your phone. I was like, oh, look
- 24:01Speaker 1: at you. Yeah he knows, okay, I like it. He
- 24:06Speaker 1: doesn't just think we just record it here on the phone.
- 24:08Speaker 1: He appreciates all the work that goes into it. All right,
- 24:12Speaker 1: let's move on to what you rated this movie two
- 24:15Speaker 1: point seven five stars. Exact same, Yeah, Wendy. Before we
- 24:20Speaker 1: started recording, she was like, the hei nees are gonna
- 24:21Speaker 1: come for me. I think they might. Uh look, there's
- 24:25Speaker 1: nowhere to go. What up? I loved Tyler in this movie.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. I think he was a high point.
- 24:29Speaker 1: But the movie was not good though. There were elements
- 24:32Speaker 1: of this movie that made it very frustrating for me
- 24:34Speaker 1: to watch it enjoy, and that's part of the viewing experience.
- 24:37Speaker 1: It's not just watch it on mute to see Tyler
- 24:39Speaker 1: Hyanes mumble out of the side of his mouth. Yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 1: exactly it again. Yeah. Thank you for listening to this
