Welcome to Bible chat where? We have devotional
• 0:04
  conversations. Rooted in.
• 0:06
  Scripture and relevant for. Today.
• 0:10
March 21st. Truth over tricks It is amazing
• 0:13
how easy it can be to. Justify a small lie.
• 0:15
Sometimes it feels harmless, sometimes it feels necessary.
• 0:19
Sometimes it even feels smart. A shortcut in a conversation.
• 0:24
  A hidden. Detail and.
• 0:25
Exaggerated Story A. Version of events that makes us
• 0:28
look. Better or keeps us out of
• 0:30
trouble. In the moment, tricks can seem
• 0:32
  easier than truth. But what?
• 0:35
Feels easy for a moment. Can create.
• 0:36
  Trouble that. Lasts much longer.
• 0:39
Proverbs chapter 12 verses. 21 to 22 says no harm befalls.
• 0:44
The righteous but the wicked are filled with trouble.
• 0:47
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord.
• 0:50
But those who act faithfully are his delight.
• 0:53
That is strong language, and it reminds us how.
• 0:55
Deeply God cares about truth. Truth.
• 0:59
Matters to Him because he is truthful.
• 1:01
Faithfulness matters to Him because he is faithful.
• 1:04
When we choose honesty, we are not just following a rule.
• 1:08
We are reflecting the character of God.
• 1:11
Then Judges chapter 2 verse. 11 says and the.
• 1:14
People of Israel did. What was evil in the sight of
• 1:17
  the? Lord.
• 1:18
And served the Bales and the Ashtaroth.
• 1:20
That verse shows how. Quickly, hearts can drift when
• 1:23
people stop staying faithful. To God.
• 1:26
The people did not fall apart all at once.
• 1:29
It happened through choices, compromise and repeated
• 1:32
disobedience. One wrong turn led to another,
• 1:35
and soon they were trapped in cycles of regret and trouble.
• 1:39
That still happens today. One dishonest choice can lead to
• 1:42
another. 1 hidden thing can become a pattern.
• 1:46
One compromise can turn into a cycle.
• 1:48
That feels hard to break, but the opposite is true.
• 1:51
Too 1 truthful choice can begin healing.
• 1:54
One honest confession can restore peace.
• 1:57
One act of faithfulness can rebuild.
• 1:59
Trust God. Is not asking you to.
• 2:02
Be clever. He is asking you to be true.
• 2:04
Even when honesty cost you something, it protects something
• 2:07
deeper in you. It protects your heart.
• 2:10
It keeps your conscience tender. It helps you walk in peace.
• 2:14
The world may reward tricks for a moment.
• 2:16
But God. Delights in faithfulness and his
• 2:19
  way leads to. Stability.
• 2:21
So today, choose truth. Over image choose honesty.
• 2:24
  Over escape. Choose faithfulness over
• 2:26
  shortcuts. The path may feel.
• 2:28
Harder for a moment, but it leads somewhere better.
• 2:31
Let's pray, Heavenly Father. Thank you for being true and
• 2:35
faithful in every way. Help me resist the.
• 2:38
  Temptation to. Lie.
• 2:39
  Hide. Or take dishonest shortcuts.
• 2:42
Give me courage to choose truth. Even when it.
• 2:44
Feels difficult. Keep my heart close to you.
• 2:48
And protect me from patterns of compromise that lead to.
• 2:50
Trouble. Let my life be marked by
• 2:53
faithfulness that delights you in Jesus name, Amen.

• 4:38
Judges chapter 2 World English Bible.
• 4:42
Yahweh. 'S Angel came up from Gilgal to
• 4:44
Botcham. He said I brought you out of.
• 4:46
Egypt and have brought you to the land which I swore.
• 4:49
To give your father's, I said. I will never break my covenant
• 4:52
with you. You shall make no covenant with
• 4:54
the inhabitants of this land. You shall break down their
• 4:57
altars, but you have not listened to my voice.
• 5:00
Why have you done this? Therefore I also said.
• 5:03
I will not drive them out from before you, but they shall be in
• 5:06
your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you when Yahweh's
• 5:10
  angels. Spoke these words to.
• 5:11
All the children of Israel. The people lifted up their.
• 5:14
Voice and wept. They called the name of that
• 5:16
  place Bochum, and they sacrificed.
• 5:18
There to Yahweh. Now, when Joshua had sent the.
• 5:21
People away. The children of Israel each went
• 5:24
to his inheritance to possess the land.
• 5:26
The people served Yahweh all the days of Joshua.
• 5:29
And all. The days of the elders who
• 5:31
outlived Joshua Who? Had seen all the.
• 5:33
Great work of Yahweh that he had worked for Israel.
• 5:36
Joshua, the son of Nun. The servant of Yahweh died.
• 5:39
  Being 110 years. Old they.
• 5:42
Buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath.
• 5:44
Here's in the Hill Country of Ephraim, on the north of the
• 5:47
  mountain of Gosh. After all.
• 5:49
That generation. Were gathered to their.
• 5:51
  Fathers. Another generation arose after
• 5:54
them who didn't know Yahweh. Nor the.
• 5:56
Work which he had done for Israel, the children of Israel.
• 5:59
Did that. Which was evil in Yahweh's sight
• 6:01
and served the. Bales they abandoned Yahweh, the
• 6:04
God of their fathers. Who brought them out of the land
• 6:06
of Egypt and followed other? Gods of the Gods of the.
• 6:09
Peoples who were around them and bowed themselves down to them
• 6:13
and they provoked Yahweh to anger they.
• 6:15
Abandoned Yahweh. And served Baal and the
• 6:17
  Ashtaroth. Yahweh's anger burned against
• 6:20
Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of Raiders who
• 6:23
plundered them. He sold them into the hands of
• 6:26
their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand
• 6:29
before their enemies. Wherever they went out, Yahweh's
• 6:32
hand was against them for. Evil as Yahweh had.
• 6:35
Spoken and as Yahweh had sworn to them, and they were very.
• 6:38
  Distressed, Yahweh raised up judges.
• 6:41
Who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them, Yet
• 6:44
they didn't listen to their judges.
• 6:46
For they prostituted themselves to other.
• 6:48
Gods and bowed themselves down to them.
• 6:51
They quickly turned away from the way in which.
• 6:52
Their fathers walked. Obeying Yahweh's commandments.
• 6:56
They didn't do so. When Yahweh raised up judges for
• 6:59
them. Then Yahweh was with the.
• 7:00
Judge and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all.
• 7:03
The days of the judge for it grieved Yahweh because.
• 7:06
Of their groaning by reason of those who oppressed them and
• 7:09
troubled them but when the. Judge was dead.
• 7:11
They turned back and dealt more corruptly than their fathers in
• 7:15
following other gods to serve them and to bow down to them.
• 7:18
They didn't cease what? They were doing or give up their
• 7:21
stubborn ways. Yahweh's anger burned against
• 7:23
Israel, and he said, because this nation transgressed my
• 7:27
covenant, which I commanded their fathers, and has not
• 7:30
listened to my voice, I also will no longer drive out any of
• 7:34
  the. Nations that Joshua left.
• 7:35
When he died from before them, that by them I may.
• 7:38
Test Israel to see if they will keep Yahweh's way to.
• 7:41
  Walk therein. As their fathers.
• 7:42
Kept it or not? So Yahweh left those.
• 7:45
Nations without driving them out hastily, he didn't deliver them
• 7:49
into Joshua's hand. Thanks for joining us on Bible.
