- 0:18Speaker 1: I will be, too. Yesterday, LSU got threatened to be
- 0:22Speaker 1: expelled from the SEC. Saber rattling going on. We'll get

- 2:11Speaker 1: our next round part of the show yesterday. Joel Klatt
- 2:14Speaker 1: is the main face voice of Fox Sports. College football coverage.
- 2:18Speaker 1: He's on the big noon kickoff every week. And he
- 2:21Speaker 1: had this to say yesterday about Auburn and Texas A &
- 2:25Speaker 1: M when it comes to their history.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Auburn reminds me a lot of Texas A & M.
- 2:33Speaker 3: And in that, like, there's not a ton of consistency,
- 2:37Speaker 3: but the expectations are always that they're going to be great.
- 2:40Speaker 3: You know, like A & M fans have an overinflated
- 2:43Speaker 3: view of just what they are. And I would say
- 2:46Speaker 3: the same for Auburn.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Like that is, it just, I know that's, you've got pops,
- 2:53Speaker 3: you know, you like pop up there and when it's great,
- 2:56Speaker 3: it's great.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It's great. It's fantastic.
- 2:58Speaker 3: It's a great program. I love, I love Auburn, but
- 3:03Speaker 3: they have not shown the consistency of other quality programs.
- 3:06Speaker 3: You know, they're, they're a popcorn program, just like A & M.
- 3:09Speaker 3: They're an average program that pops up every once in
- 3:12Speaker 3: a while.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Oh, so you had some thoughts on this coming off.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I know Auburn fans. I mean, do any of us disagree?
- 3:19Speaker 1: I didn't even notice it. Did you notice it? I
- 3:21Speaker 1: noticed it. I did notice it. I mean, you. Texas
- 3:23Speaker 1: A & M has never won a national championship in
- 3:26Speaker 1: modern day college football. Auburn won one in 2010. They
- 3:29Speaker 1: should have won one in 2013. They were a minute
- 3:31Speaker 1: and 37 seconds away from winning two since 2010. I
- 3:34Speaker 1: get that.
- 3:35Speaker 2: But where we are right now in college football, the
- 3:37Speaker 2: last decade, the last five years, it's not even close.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They're below average. But you can't. And A & M
- 3:42Speaker 1: is trending. But you can't. You can't. predict the future
- 3:47Speaker 1: off of the past. If you did that, then Indiana
- 3:49Speaker 1: would never be Indiana what they are now. Indiana may
- 3:52Speaker 1: turn into a dynasty. We're not talking about the future, Dunaway.
- 3:54Speaker 1: We're talking about right now. We are talking about the
- 3:56Speaker 1: future because we're talking about when Klatt says that. You
- 3:58Speaker 1: will give me they're an average program right now. No,
- 4:01Speaker 1: they've been below average. They're bad right now.
- 4:04Speaker 2: That's why I don't understand why there's so much.
- 4:08Speaker 1: This isn't complicated. Auburn fans know this.
- 4:10Speaker 4: But I think it's controversial because I think Auburn fans
- 4:16Speaker 4: took it as Klatt saying, you're just an all-time average program,
- 4:19Speaker 4: which I don't think is fair to Auburn. Auburn's better
- 4:21Speaker 4: than an all-time average program. To Dunaway's point, they're not
- 4:24Speaker 4: even average right now. They've been below average since Gus Malzahn.
- 4:28Speaker 4: They've been a bad program. Any Auburn fan alive will
- 4:30Speaker 4: tell you that because they've lived it.
- 4:32Speaker 1: But that's no indicator of the future.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I'm not even worried about the future because
- 4:36Speaker 4: Klatt was talking about the past. And, like, here's what
- 4:39Speaker 4: I would say. Auburn is 12th all-time.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And FBS wins. That's not an average program.
- 4:45Speaker 5: No.
- 4:45Speaker 4: You can't call that an average program. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> Like,
- 5:01Speaker 4: it's a weird thing Auburn has done over the last
- 5:03Speaker 4: 20 years, and they've done that. I mean, that is 100% true.
- 5:06Speaker 1: But I do think we've got, I mean, Nebraska, where's
- 5:08Speaker 1: Nebraska all-time wins? Oh, my gosh. They are.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Eighth. Yeah. But that's an average program. It is right now.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's just the way it is right now. Like we've
- 5:18Speaker 2: got to figure out what the snapshots are. I mean,
- 5:21Speaker 2: like Army, Army, like historically is a great program, right?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Princeton historically is a great program.
- 5:26Speaker 1: See, now you're talking about. the future now and, and
- 5:30Speaker 1: army will never be able to be what they were
- 5:32Speaker 1: at one point. I don't know what Nebraska will ever be.
- 5:34Speaker 1: When you say that Navy's going to be pretty good
- 5:36Speaker 1: this year. Navy's going to be, I don't know what
- 5:39Speaker 1: army is going to be in the future. They, they
- 5:41Speaker 1: haven't been as good as they used to be right there.
- 5:44Speaker 1: They're never going to be national champions again. Navy's they
- 5:47Speaker 1: may make the playoffs. We'll unveil our playoff picks coming
- 5:50Speaker 1: up in our number three of the show today. Navy's
- 5:53Speaker 1: got a chance to be in the playoffs this year,
- 5:54Speaker 1: but they're not going to win the national championship. Auburn is,
- 5:58Speaker 1: probably will win a national championship in the future at
- 6:00Speaker 1: some point. You say that. In my lifetime of watching football,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I've seen them win one.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I have seen 14 programs, I think maybe 15, win
- 6:09Speaker 2: multiple national championships since I've been watching football.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But you would have never put Indiana into one of
- 6:14Speaker 1: those categories. No, absolutely not. And right now at this
- 6:17Speaker 1: point of history, which when you do snapshots, whatever window
- 6:22Speaker 1: you were going to put it in, Indiana is as
- 6:24Speaker 1: good as it gets right now. No doubt. And a
- 6:26Speaker 1: two-year snapshot. And do you think it's going to get
- 6:28Speaker 1: any worse this year? It's got to get worse than
- 6:30Speaker 1: it was. They're going to lose again eventually. Should they
- 6:34Speaker 1: win double digits again? Yes. I think they're a double-digit
- 6:38Speaker 1: win team again this year.
- 6:39Speaker 2: But I think Klatt, when Klatt's not going back to
- 6:41Speaker 2: the 80s, 90s, 2000s, I mean, we're talking about current
- 6:44Speaker 2: college football.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I think a fair snapshot is five years.
- 6:48Speaker 4: And that's where I wish, and Klatt given, look, this
- 6:51Speaker 4: is just a free-flowing interview. He did not come on
- 6:52Speaker 4: thinking I'm going to talk about the history of Auburn football, right?
- 6:55Speaker 4: And again, I didn't even notice it. It's a free-flowing interview.
- 6:59Speaker 4: I wish Klatt had said over the last X amount
- 7:01Speaker 4: of years, Auburn is a popcorn program. I mean, he
- 7:03Speaker 4: probably wishes he had, too, now that he's seen the blowback,
- 7:06Speaker 4: which he even referenced it.
- 7:08Speaker 2: They're like, I don't know how I always get these
- 7:10Speaker 2: situations on your guys' show. I think you can use
- 7:11Speaker 2: common sense and figure this out. It's like Florida State's
- 7:13Speaker 2: an average program. Nebraska's an average program.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Or below average right now. They are now, yeah. Here's
- 7:18Speaker 1: the fact of the matter.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Auburn's played 25 ranked teams over the last five years.
- 7:21Speaker 2: You know what the record is in those 25 ranked teams? Right.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Two and 23. They've been really pathetic. They're not even
- 7:27Speaker 1: an average program. They've been below average in the last
- 7:30Speaker 1: five or six years. That's 100%. When I hear somebody
- 7:33Speaker 1: say something like that, it came off to me like
- 7:36Speaker 1: he was saying, they are an average program and that's
- 7:39Speaker 1: all they're ever going to be. It came off to
- 7:41Speaker 1: me as where they are right now.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Isn't that funny how we can hear the same thing
- 7:44Speaker 4: and you all hear two totally different things, but that's.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I mean, because I can take, I don't know, how
- 7:49Speaker 1: many programs we have now?
- 7:50Speaker 4: 136.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Let's just go power four.
- 7:50Speaker 2: 75 of the power four i can paint good good
- 7:55Speaker 2: decades for them yeah you can paint positive decades or
- 7:59Speaker 2: you can dial in exactly what you think they'll be
- 8:02Speaker 2: over a decade no no no i can paint positive
- 8:04Speaker 2: decades yeah yeah that's what we're talking about yeah yeah
- 8:07Speaker 2: yeah like auburn was as good as anybody in the
- 8:10Speaker 2: 80s that is right yeah but they probably the.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Best team to not win a national championship.
- 8:15Speaker 2: You know, it's hard to be the best of a
- 8:18Speaker 2: decade without winning a national championship.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Oh, you mean in the 80s? Yeah, absolutely. I would
- 8:22Speaker 1: agree with you on that. Well, technically, they got screwed
- 8:24Speaker 1: out of one in 83, which I think they claimed. Historically,
- 8:26Speaker 1: they did win a championship.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Now, you know, Texas, where I would separate Auburn and
- 8:31Speaker 4: Texas A & M is A & M has won nothing.
- 8:35Speaker 4: They've won nothing. That's why it's almost even hard to
- 8:38Speaker 4: put them in the same category. I wouldn't even call
- 8:40Speaker 4: A & M a popcorn program. That was Klatt's phrase,
- 8:43Speaker 4: like they just pop up out of nowhere.
- 8:45Speaker 1: A & M is, what is the opposite of popcorn?
- 8:48Speaker 1: I mean, Mike Elko owns it. Hey, look at our
- 8:50Speaker 1: trophy case.
- 8:50Speaker 4: A & M is that flat microwave thing that's folded
- 8:53Speaker 4: in threes.
- 8:55Speaker 1: That you put into the microwave. That hasn't popped yet.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But I think Auburn fans would flip where they are
- 9:00Speaker 1: right now, where A & M is. 100%. I mean,
- 9:02Speaker 1: A & M is going in a really good direction.
- 9:04Speaker 2: And look, that could be Alex Golish. He could win
- 9:06Speaker 2: nine games this year, 11 next year, get to a
- 9:09Speaker 2: college football playoff, and same trajectory.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Here's the crazy thing. I told you Auburn's 12th all-time
- 9:12Speaker 4: in FBS wins. Would you like to guess who's 13th?
- 9:14Speaker 1: Texas A & M. Texas A & M. Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 4: I mean... A & M' s got all the wins Auburn
- 9:21Speaker 4: has with none of the trophies Auburn has. I mean,
- 9:24Speaker 4: that's just the truth about.
- 9:25Speaker 1: A & M. A & M.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Is the most underachieving program in college football history. There
- 9:32Speaker 4: is no argument about that. You can't even argue it.
- 9:35Speaker 1: They're the most accomplished underachieving program of all time.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Yes, you can't argue that one. I mean, if you
- 9:42Speaker 4: drive to College Station and look at their trophy case...
- 9:45Speaker 4: You would think they've got the same amount of wins
- 9:47Speaker 4: as Vanderbilt, and they don't. They've got the 13th most
- 9:49Speaker 4: wins of all time, but they've got no trophies to
- 9:51Speaker 4: show for it.
- 9:52Speaker 2: What shows me a successful season in today's college football
- 9:55Speaker 2: is double-digit wins. I think it's somewhat difficult to get
- 9:59Speaker 2: to double-digit. wins, but it's not the most difficult thing
- 10:03Speaker 2: to do.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I mean, 10-2.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but Auburn in their history has 14 double-digit wins.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Over the last 18 years, you know how many Alabama's got? Oh,
- 10:11Speaker 1: all of them. We're coming off the great– anytime you
- 10:14Speaker 1: do this. It's the greatest road ever. It's not fair
- 10:15Speaker 1: because you could do this with Alabama and anybody in
- 10:18Speaker 1: the country because Alabama was a dynasty. Well, I mean,
- 10:21Speaker 1: if you want to go somebody else, I mean, I
- 10:22Speaker 1: can go Boise State. Yeah. Different level of football. You
- 10:27Speaker 1: want to go rank wins? Boise State's got more over
- 10:29Speaker 1: the top over the last five years. Ohio State is
- 10:32Speaker 1: a dynasty. Not going to compare with Auburn. Yeah. It's
- 10:35Speaker 1: been dynastic. Do you have A & Ms? No, I don't.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But I would just say this.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So, like, two ranked wins over the last five years.
- 10:42Speaker 1: This is why I don't understand why Auburn fans would
- 10:44Speaker 1: get upset with this.
- 10:45Speaker 2: There were six teams in the SEC that doubled that
- 10:48Speaker 2: last year, including Vanderbilt. There were seven teams that had
- 10:51Speaker 2: three or more top 25 wins last year.
- 10:53Speaker 1: You keep saying I don't understand why Auburn fans would
- 10:57Speaker 1: be upset about this. And I'm telling you, I believe
- 11:00Speaker 1: it is because of the perception when you hear that
- 11:07Speaker 1: some people i think took it as that's all we're
- 11:10Speaker 1: ever going to be that's all we're ever going to
- 11:12Speaker 1: be you think we're average and that's all we're ever going.
- 11:14Speaker 4: To be see i think i disagree i think they're
- 11:16Speaker 4: upset because they heard him say you've never really accomplished
- 11:19Speaker 4: anything you're just an average historic program yes and i
- 11:22Speaker 4: don't you heard him say yeah we heard him say
- 11:24Speaker 4: three different things we've got three people sitting.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Here i just as we roll into another season i
- 11:29Speaker 2: think we're in the moment i think klatt's in the
- 11:31Speaker 2: moment Klatt is wise enough to know that Auburn has
- 11:34Speaker 2: three Heisman Trophy winners.
- 11:36Speaker 1: They've won a national championship.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I think he was talking about where we are in
- 11:39Speaker 2: the moment. And look, I'm the biggest Rams fan in
- 11:42Speaker 2: the world. I really don't know a bigger Rams fan.
- 11:45Speaker 2: It's an average NFL franchise.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Throughout the years. There was a 12-year period they didn't
- 11:50Speaker 1: go to the playoffs. But they're great right now. And
- 11:52Speaker 1: I own it.
- 11:52Speaker 2: We're terrible, but I still watch all the games. But
- 11:55Speaker 2: it doesn't bother me. I mean, it bothers me we're terrible,
- 11:57Speaker 2: but other people will say it.
- 11:58Speaker 1: It's factual. Yeah, I think there was....
- 12:02Speaker 4: I think there was an overall misinterpretation. Klatt had one interpretation.
- 12:08Speaker 4: He said it. And probably in his mind, it made
- 12:11Speaker 4: sense with his interpretation. I think Auburn fans, you think
- 12:14Speaker 4: they're upset because he was pigeonholing them saying there's no
- 12:17Speaker 4: house in Tuscany. Auburn just quit trying. You're never going
- 12:20Speaker 4: to be anything but average. I thought, kind of like Lance,
- 12:24Speaker 4: he's just talking about them kind of in the real time,
- 12:28Speaker 4: which he's probably being kind if he calls them average
- 12:30Speaker 4: in real time. And I think Auburn fans took it
- 12:33Speaker 4: as you've never accomplished anything. You're just an average program
- 12:35Speaker 4: and you've never accomplished anything. So it's kind of where
- 12:40Speaker 4: we are in this world is that everybody's going to
- 12:42Speaker 4: hear it the way either they want to hear it
- 12:44Speaker 4: or the way they're most offended by it. That's kind
- 12:46Speaker 4: of where we are in the world when people say things.
- 12:48Speaker 4: You either hear it the way you want to hear
- 12:49Speaker 4: it or you hear it the way you're most offended
- 12:51Speaker 4: by it. And some people heard it the way they
- 12:53Speaker 4: wanted to hear it and some people heard it the
- 12:54Speaker 4: way they were most offended by it.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Justin Hokanson, Auburn fan. live on three sports too many
- 12:59Speaker 1: championships undefeated seasons heisman and all americans to pretend that
- 13:03Speaker 1: they're an average.
- 13:04Speaker 4: See hoax looking at it as he's calling them historically
- 13:07Speaker 4: average now chris says lt's point is correct i love
- 13:11Speaker 4: auburn but he's right especially over the last five years
- 13:15Speaker 4: And then he throws in your team by the same
- 13:16Speaker 4: metric USC has averaged, too.
- 13:18Speaker 1: 100%. No doubt.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I mean, I think USC is, you guys know how
- 13:22Speaker 2: I feel right now. And they've got an 11-win season,
- 13:24Speaker 2: a Heisman Trophy winner over there. They've played for a
- 13:26Speaker 2: conference championship in the last five years. And it's been terrible. Yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 4: So I think this is all in the eye of
- 13:35Speaker 4: the beholder, however you interpret what Klatt said.
- 13:37Speaker 2: But I don't think you can argue at all. The
- 13:38Speaker 2: last five years, it has been one of the worst
- 13:41Speaker 2: Power 4 programs ever. I mean, they've only got the
- 13:43Speaker 2: only conference or the only team in conference they've got
- 13:46Speaker 2: more wins than in the last five years.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Vanderbilt, Texas, and Oklahoma. Texas, Oklahoma, because they came in later.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I don't think anybody can argue that. It's numbers.
- 13:56Speaker 4: You can't argue against actual facts, and those are actual facts.
- 13:59Speaker 4: That's not even subjective, objective. All I've got to do
- 14:01Speaker 4: is look at records.
- 14:03Speaker 1: LSU got some headlines yesterday when they continued to practice
- 14:09Speaker 1: A couple of NFL players, Daquan Wright and company, actually
- 14:12Speaker 1: practicing with the team. They don't have to have their
- 14:14Speaker 1: official 105 until Friday. What did you guys make of
- 14:19Speaker 1: the SEC executives, not from the office, but member schools,
- 14:24Speaker 1: saying that sanctions, probation... even throughout the word expulsion at
- 14:29Speaker 1: some point, would be on the table if they continue
- 14:32Speaker 1: to go down this road. Nobody thinks they're going to
- 14:34Speaker 1: continue to go down this road, by the way. They
- 14:36Speaker 1: believe LSU will fall in before the game Saturday and
- 14:39Speaker 1: not play these players. I don't know what's real and
- 14:41Speaker 1: what's not.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Is that legit, the villain thing in the locker room?
- 14:45Speaker 1: Go ahead and show it, since Lance brought it up here.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I think it was Mike Scarborough was in the football building.
- 14:54Speaker 1: If you want to win at the highest level, You
- 14:57Speaker 1: have to become a villain in somebody else's story. That's
- 15:02Speaker 1: from Mike Scarborough on his X page. Again, I don't
- 15:07Speaker 1: know what Lane's doing. You go back.
- 15:09Speaker 2: It seemed like at this time last year he was
- 15:11Speaker 2: trying to do a little damage control and remake the
- 15:13Speaker 2: image a little bit when he was talking about sobriety
- 15:15Speaker 2: and all that. And then once everything went down, the
- 15:17Speaker 2: transition from Ole Miss to LSU, he embraced it.
- 15:20Speaker 1: He's like, I am the villain. We're going to roll
- 15:21Speaker 1: with this.
- 15:23Speaker 2: But him coming out and saying, you know, the leadership
- 15:26Speaker 2: council voted on this, whatever will make us better.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I doubt it.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I mean, you really think guys in there are saying
- 15:31Speaker 2: we can't do this ourselves. Let's go out and get
- 15:33Speaker 2: guys that haven't been in this locker room. Three pieces
- 15:36Speaker 2: from NFL teams that were waived that are going to
- 15:39Speaker 2: make us that much better. I just don't believe any
- 15:42Speaker 2: of this. And I don't know why Lane is dying
- 15:43Speaker 2: on this hill.
- 15:44Speaker 1: That was what I call a convenient conversation. Do you ever.
- 15:49Speaker 4: You ever talk to somebody about something and they had
- 15:51Speaker 4: a way too convenient conversation with somebody you were talking about? Like,
- 15:55Speaker 4: it's hard to give an example on this, but you're
- 15:58Speaker 4: talking about something like, oh, I just met a guy
- 16:00Speaker 4: on the street the other day that said, you know,
- 16:01Speaker 4: such and such. Well, that's an awful convenient conversation, isn't it?
- 16:05Speaker 4: That was a convenient conversation Lane had that everybody supported him,
- 16:08Speaker 4: it seemed like. It was like, if it's going to
- 16:10Speaker 4: make us better, let's just bring him in.
- 16:12Speaker 1: College Game Day podcast is really good. It's got Wetzel
- 16:15Speaker 1: on it. it's got Thamel on it and Reese Davis
- 16:19Speaker 1: on it. Those are the usual three guys. And they
- 16:22Speaker 1: had the lawyer, Tom Mars, who has more wins against
- 16:25Speaker 1: the NCAA in the courtroom than anybody on earth. And
- 16:29Speaker 1: he said, this is how the LSU versus the SEC
- 16:33Speaker 1: battle will play out.
- 16:35Speaker 6: SEC is going to win this case. I don't think
- 16:38Speaker 6: there's any question about it. To judge in the Baton
- 16:42Speaker 6: Rouge case, is going to be under immense political pressure
- 16:48Speaker 6: to rule in favor of the plaintiffs. There's no doubt
- 16:50Speaker 6: about that. But that's not necessarily going to be true
- 16:54Speaker 6: at the next level, the Louisiana Court of Appeals.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Why?
- 17:00Speaker 6: Because they're elected to 10-year terms, whereas district judges are
- 17:06Speaker 6: elected to six-year terms.
- 17:08Speaker 4: And....
- 17:11Speaker 6: Appellate judges, whether they're in Louisiana or Montana or Arkansas,
- 17:18Speaker 6: they are different than district judges. They are obsessed about
- 17:22Speaker 6: the law, following the law. And they know that in
- 17:26Speaker 6: this case, the people of Louisiana expect them to apply
- 17:30Speaker 6: the evidence and the law. And there's one other thing
- 17:34Speaker 6: that's unique about Louisiana courts. The Court of Appeals in
- 17:39Speaker 6: Louisiana can review the facts, the evidence, the facts in
- 17:44Speaker 6: the record and the law, whereas in almost every other state,
- 17:49Speaker 6: the Court of Appeals has to give great deference to
- 17:52Speaker 6: the trial judge's findings of fact. Not so in Louisiana.
- 17:57Speaker 1: So that's on the College Game Day podcast. You can
- 17:59Speaker 1: see that whole thing right now on their platform. So
- 18:03Speaker 1: they're just saying by Thursday, this is going to be
- 18:05Speaker 1: a story that has hit a dead end, that Tom
- 18:08Speaker 1: Mars believes the SEC will win this walking away. And
- 18:11Speaker 1: that becomes the question. And we've got a great guest,
- 18:14Speaker 1: Matt Moscona, coming up in our second hour today to
- 18:18Speaker 1: talk about this from LSU's perspective. Is the juice worth
- 18:21Speaker 1: the squeeze? Why are we still doing this on game
- 18:24Speaker 1: week if you're Lane Kiffin?
- 18:29Speaker 2: There hasn't been word whether or not these three individuals
- 18:32Speaker 2: will play this weekend.
- 18:33Speaker 1: And I've got fingers crossed, please play them. Please play
- 18:36Speaker 1: them and let Clemson win this game.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I mean, can you guys imagine that scenario?
- 18:41Speaker 1: You've already got a bullseye on your back. Yeah, I
- 18:43Speaker 1: think if you're LSU fans, you're concerned. Has this been
- 18:46Speaker 1: a distraction or some kind of a... a breaking point,
- 18:50Speaker 1: fracture point, maybe not a breaking point, but something that
- 18:52Speaker 1: cracks the chemistry of the team that could break some point,
- 18:56Speaker 1: whether it be before the game, in the game, or
- 18:59Speaker 1: after the game that could damage this team for the
- 19:01Speaker 1: entire season. And I'll tell you who loves this is Dabo.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Nobody's talking about Clemson at all. Oh, I know. They
- 19:05Speaker 1: are so in the weeds.
- 19:06Speaker 2: The only way you talk about Clemson is the way
- 19:09Speaker 2: I just brought it up where people are like, man,
- 19:11Speaker 2: I hope Clemson can pull off this upset.
- 19:12Speaker 1: It's almost impossible to.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Believe that Clemson could win this game And just imagine this.
- 19:18Speaker 2: You just fired Brian Kelly. And, again, I know I'm
- 19:20Speaker 2: kind of on the side by myself on this. I
- 19:24Speaker 2: still think Brian Kelly's a really, really good coach. I
- 19:26Speaker 2: know it just ended up not being a great fit.
- 19:29Speaker 2: But you know what Brian Kelly never did? Lose to
- 19:31Speaker 2: an unranked opponent at home. They have won 27 straight.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Their last loss to an unranked opponent was 20-20 against
- 19:37Speaker 2: Mississippi State.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Can you imagine game one he loses to an unranked?
- 19:41Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Hard to imagine Clemson's unranked, but that's the facts. That
- 19:45Speaker 1: does not feel like a normal unranked team. It's not
- 19:47Speaker 1: a normal unranked team coming in there, but that's the facts.
- 19:50Speaker 1: This is an interesting game. I can't wait to watch
- 19:53Speaker 1: it Saturday night. We'll see if it pops up in
- 19:56Speaker 1: our upset alert. We'll do that. If you're new to
- 19:58Speaker 1: the show, we play it just like College Game Day
- 20:01Speaker 1: does with the facts. We'll run over the rules and
- 20:04Speaker 1: give you our unveiling of our upset alert picks for
- 20:06Speaker 1: week number one. When we come back, it's the next
- 20:09Speaker 1: round presented by Hard Rock Bets right here on Sport
- 20:12Speaker 1: and State. Continue on today's Sport and State with the
- 20:15Speaker 1: next round, guys, LTD & B. One note from the NFL,
- 20:19Speaker 1: pretty big if you're a Ravens fan. Zay Flowers finally
- 20:23Speaker 1: back at practice. They're saying he's going to be good
- 20:25Speaker 1: to go in week one against Indianapolis, against the Colts.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I'm always amazed that we're through the cut day on Sunday,
- 20:33Speaker 1: that how much time there is until we get to
- 20:36Speaker 1: the start of the NFL season.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I know.
- 20:38Speaker 1: A little gap there between the end of the exhibition
- 20:40Speaker 1: season to this. Well, back in the day, though, this
- 20:42Speaker 1: coming Thursday was your last exhibition week. Back in the day.
- 20:47Speaker 1: It's been a while. I don't know. We start Wednesday,
- 20:49Speaker 1: so it's a week from tomorrow with the season. It
- 20:53Speaker 1: just seems longer for some reason.
- 20:54Speaker 4: I just know that the Thursday night, the first Thursday
- 20:57Speaker 4: night of football used to be the last Thursday night
- 20:59Speaker 4: of NFL preseason. They'd be going on head-to-head, which I
- 21:02Speaker 4: didn't care. I was going to watch college football over
- 21:03Speaker 4: NFL preseason. I'm just saying it used to be closer,
- 21:06Speaker 4: but I'm with you now. It seems like an eternity
- 21:08Speaker 4: from the last preseason game until they actually play. Imagine
- 21:11Speaker 4: if you're one of the teams playing Monday night football,
- 21:12Speaker 4: Denver and Kansas City. How long it is from that
- 21:16Speaker 4: last Thursday preseason game until you play a Monday night
- 21:18Speaker 4: football game.
- 21:19Speaker 1: That's right. You're a week from Labor Day still coming up.
- 21:22Speaker 1: That's right. You're still a week away from Labor Day.
- 21:24Speaker 2: But that is good news for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
- 21:28Speaker 2: You know, big bounce back, hopefully for Lamar, if you're
- 21:31Speaker 2: a Ravens fan out there. Because when you start to
- 21:33Speaker 2: look at weapons, Jacoby Lane is going to be counted on, like, immediately.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Rookie right receiver out of USC. You've got Rashad Bateman there. But,
- 21:40Speaker 2: I mean, your alpha is a Flowers.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Derrick Henry, you still expect the same numbers? He's sort
- 21:46Speaker 1: of chasing time now.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, look, if we're just putting it in
- 21:48Speaker 2: fantasy perspective, I think he's like the sixth running back
- 21:51Speaker 2: right now. So, I mean, I think there's an expectation
- 21:53Speaker 2: he still hits 1,000 yards. But sooner or later, father
- 21:57Speaker 2: time is going.
- 21:57Speaker 1: To catch up. Hard to say this, but... If I
- 21:59Speaker 1: was making a bold pick in the NFL, I'd say
- 22:02Speaker 1: not the playoffs for the Ravens this year. That is
- 22:04Speaker 1: a bold choice. That's very bold.
- 22:05Speaker 2: They are, along with Buffalo, the shortest favorites to actually
- 22:11Speaker 2: win the Super Bowl out of the AFC.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Are you serious?
- 22:13Speaker 4: Yep.
- 22:14Speaker 1: You did not know that when you said bold. No,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I just said. That's quite bold. It feels like a
- 22:18Speaker 1: team that's on the decline. I expect a lot of
- 22:21Speaker 1: the Bengals this year. All right. Perfect 10 mortgage before

- 24:09Speaker 1: make your own picks, jump into our chat room and
- 24:11Speaker 1: let us know. We'd love to see your upset alert picks.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I think I was the winner last year. Is that correct, Forrester?
- 24:16Speaker 1: I won it last year. Is that right? You think? No,
- 24:18Speaker 1: it wasn't me. Who was it? Was it me?
- 24:21Speaker 5: I thought it was Brown.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Oh, the Brown Bandit won this thing last year? I
- 24:24Speaker 1: don't know. I thought it might be me. I have
- 24:27Speaker 1: no idea. I think I had a good year. I
- 24:30Speaker 1: think the Brown Bandit probably walked with it.
- 24:31Speaker 5: It was Brown.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Brown Bandit.
- 24:33Speaker 5: I thought it actually got the final standings.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I was joking. I thought it was actually Forrester. It's
- 24:37Speaker 1: a blowout. Brown won it. Forrester, me, LT, and Brooks.
- 24:43Speaker 1: All five back this year. Nobody got relegated, so that's good.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Everybody's back with their upset alert picks. What are those
- 24:48Speaker 1: numbers in the parentheses? That's when you got the win outright.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Wow.
- 24:52Speaker 1: You get the win outright and the points. Five? Five.
- 24:56Speaker 1: That's a big number. Yeah. Out of how many? Fourteen?
- 24:59Speaker 2: 5 out of 14 dogs, depending on how big the
- 25:03Speaker 2: dog is.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Is it three and a half or more? Let's see
- 25:06Speaker 1: the rules. I'm glad you asked. Forrester may have the
- 25:09Speaker 1: rules for us here. It's just like college game day
- 25:12Speaker 1: where you got to make a pick of, is it
- 25:15Speaker 1: four and a half points, Forrester?
- 25:17Speaker 5: Well, first, we got to do the intro then.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Oh.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I love the old siren and the old terrestrial radio
- 25:25Speaker 2: days where people thought they were getting pulled over left
- 25:27Speaker 2: and right.
- 25:27Speaker 1: All right.
- 25:30Speaker 5: It is four and a half.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Four and a half. Five points for the cover. So
- 25:34Speaker 1: all you have to do is get inside the number
- 25:37Speaker 1: that you go. The minimum spread is four and a half.
- 25:39Speaker 1: So four and a half points or more. You get inside.
- 25:42Speaker 1: If you cover, if you get the cover, you get
- 25:44Speaker 1: five points. If you get the outright win with your underdog,
- 25:47Speaker 1: you get five points plus.
- 25:50Speaker 1: The amount of the spread. So we'll use 10 as
- 25:53Speaker 1: an example. If you played an underdog that was plus
- 25:56Speaker 1: 10 and they won the game outright, you would walk
- 25:58Speaker 1: away with 15 total points.
- 26:00Speaker 5: And we don't do this push junk.
- 26:01Speaker 1: No. No pushes.
- 26:03Speaker 5: That other platforms do.
- 26:05Speaker 1: That's right. No pushes. The faces, the angry faces are
- 26:08Speaker 1: there because Forrester built that graphic because we used to
- 26:11Speaker 1: change the rules every year. That's correct. And I said
- 26:14Speaker 1: on the air, these are the rules we'll go by.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And then during the course of the next 67 seconds...
- 26:19Speaker 1: We changed the rules to wipe out that last part.
- 26:22Speaker 1: So the top three is what we do, just like
- 26:24Speaker 1: on college game day. And we're ready to do it.
- 26:28Speaker 1: So let's start with the worst person last year. Brooks,
- 26:33Speaker 1: who handles our social media and everything. Microphone's on now, Brooks.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Talk us through it, man. I'm hoping for a better season.
- 26:40Speaker 7: I might add my first upset alert was a day
- 26:44Speaker 7: that was my very first day at work, and I
- 26:45Speaker 7: didn't even know I was.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Going to be on air that day. Hey, draw Victor Brooks.
- 26:48Speaker 7: Yeah, Jim threw me on air, told me to be
- 26:50Speaker 7: at work at an earlier time than I was supposed
- 26:52Speaker 7: to be.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Trying to be a welcome, man. He was trying to
- 26:54Speaker 1: give you a welcome. That's why Jim did your introduction
- 26:55Speaker 1: like three or four times. Yeah. yeah trying to be
- 26:58Speaker 1: your welcome man uh i uh if you'll recall to
- 27:02Speaker 1: last friday and one of my three guarantees for this
- 27:05Speaker 1: season was that uh the lsu tigers lose four or
- 27:09Speaker 1: more games and uh you understand this is upset alert
- 27:12Speaker 1: not bold predictions right i understand.
- 27:14Speaker 7: This ties into it uh i am taking the clemson
- 27:17Speaker 7: tigers plus nine and a half road dog in baton
- 27:21Speaker 7: rouge uh And I would love, I actually like this
- 27:25Speaker 7: game outright. I like the Clemson Tigers upsetting LSU, and
- 27:28Speaker 7: it's one of their four losses. Too much crap going
- 27:30Speaker 7: on this week in Baton Rouge. Too much noise surrounding
- 27:32Speaker 7: that program. I think they come out completely unfocused.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I hope you don't have board in, but your board's
- 27:38Speaker 1: a little small back there.
- 27:40Speaker 7: Well, I mean, apparently with the new budget, we didn't
- 27:43Speaker 7: buy enough for the back room.
- 27:44Speaker 1: We only did three boards. Yeah, the back room can't
- 27:46Speaker 1: get nice things. We can order.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Brooks another one. Scott doesn't need it. He does high tech.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Looks like you were using an older orange marker, too.
- 27:53Speaker 1: It's already running out of gas. Let's just pick this
- 27:55Speaker 1: thing apart.
- 27:56Speaker 7: With everything I have going on back here, I didn't
- 27:58Speaker 7: draw mine until the pick or draw mine.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Fair enough.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I almost think we should be penalized to point if
- 28:04Speaker 2: you put a dead marker back. I pulled four dead
- 28:07Speaker 2: markers from over there yesterday.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Those are all new.
- 28:10Speaker 7: How are we going to leave an empty carton of
- 28:14Speaker 7: milk in the refrigerator?
- 28:16Speaker 1: So Brooks goes with Clemson. I mean, Bo just told
- 28:19Speaker 1: me he's getting me a whiteboard. Is that even a
- 28:22Speaker 1: is that even a tiger paw? It looks like it's
- 28:24Speaker 1: four paws that bear paw. Brooks, I hope you're right.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I'm going to have to stick this paw up your butt. Whoa!
- 28:31Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you, way too much hype going
- 28:33Speaker 1: on with LSU. Our buddy C.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Stu that doesn't like to get off the couch is
- 28:36Speaker 2: talking about going to Baton Rouge this weekend.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Don't do that.
- 28:38Speaker 1: I mean, I just think it shows you these LSU fans.
- 28:39Speaker 1: This is the one you're going to? Yeah. Let me
- 28:42Speaker 1: prop it up here so everyone can see how awful
- 28:44Speaker 1: it looks. The guy that hates crowds is going to
- 28:46Speaker 1: go to Baton Rouge? What a weekend to choose that.
- 28:48Speaker 1: We can't get him to karaoke anymore and he can
- 28:50Speaker 1: go to Baton Rouge? Yeah. I mean, these LSU fans.
- 28:53Speaker 1: All right. Lance was next in the standings last year.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Killed it on the pick three. Better on Friday than
- 28:58Speaker 1: he was on Tuesday. He gets them dialed in on Friday.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I go for the cover. You know, the outright wins
- 29:04Speaker 1: are tough. I think I might have one here. Forrester
- 29:06Speaker 1: doesn't like this. Oh, well-drawn. Wow.
- 29:12Speaker 6: The red wolf.
- 29:13Speaker 1: That's a good pink wolf. Wow. A good pink wolf.
- 29:16Speaker 1: That is well-drawn.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Lance, that is fantastic.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Maddie's getting really good at drawing. I was going to
- 29:22Speaker 1: tell you guys that. Now, the guys in the back
- 29:24Speaker 1: saw the outline.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Like, I was up here working on the outline and
- 29:28Speaker 2: just had to get the tightness of the details. So,
- 29:31Speaker 2: Maddie did help tighten it up a little bit. With
- 29:35Speaker 2: all that said, Arkansas State. 6-1 when they held opponents
- 29:40Speaker 2: to fewer than 185 rushing yards. I think they're going
- 29:42Speaker 2: to try to yuck this up. They won 6-8 for
- 29:44Speaker 2: Butch Jones down the stretch. They're two losses, one possession losses.
- 29:48Speaker 2: You're catching 10.5. Charles Huff has already crawled his crowd
- 29:51Speaker 2: out after the UNLV game. 9-1.
- 29:53Speaker 1: We're Memphis, baby. I've been here my whole life or
- 29:56Speaker 1: eight months. One of the two. Our emotional win out
- 29:58Speaker 1: the West Coast. Guess who they got next week? Boise State.
- 30:01Speaker 1: This is a trap game. Back on the West Coast.
- 30:04Speaker 2: So everybody's focused on, hey, man, imagine if Memphis can
- 30:06Speaker 2: win this Boise game. They're going to be 3-0 to
- 30:08Speaker 2: open the season.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Not so fast.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Watch out for the Red Wolves here. I like Arkansas
- 30:13Speaker 2: State plus the 10.5. Getting a big, big number here.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a big number, 10.5, yeah. Yeah, we're going
- 30:20Speaker 1: to have to– Just kidding, the glare there. The glare
- 30:24Speaker 1: had it in Kansas State. It was wrapping off the
- 30:27Speaker 1: A and the R. So there we go. That's a
- 30:29Speaker 1: good-looking Red Bull. That's a good-looking Red Bull. Well done, Lance.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I think I was next. How many times does a
- 30:36Speaker 1: G6 beat a Power 5 team or a Power 4
- 30:40Speaker 1: team in back-to-back years, especially when you're a little brother
- 30:45Speaker 1: inside the state, right? Yeah. doesn't happen how often.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Does that happen i know where you're going here and
- 30:50Speaker 2: i think we might have a dick kicking on our hands.
- 30:54Speaker 1: There's another hurricane warning out another hurricane warning in the
- 30:58Speaker 1: state of oklahoma everybody's on this little north texas uh
- 31:04Speaker 1: team that comes to town north texas junior yeah so
- 31:09Speaker 1: i'm gonna go with tulsa to do it in back-to-back
- 31:11Speaker 1: years listen At the end of the year last year,
- 31:13Speaker 1: Tulsa beat Army, Oregon State, before they lost to a
- 31:16Speaker 1: surging UAB team 31-24. They won the game last year.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Do you guys remember the great Auburn running back Demario Alston?
- 31:26Speaker 1: I do, yeah. He's still there? He's now at Tulsa. Wow,
- 31:29Speaker 1: how about that? Yeah, his fifth year is at Tulsa,
- 31:33Speaker 1: so he's bringing that. He had some good games at Auburn.
- 31:36Speaker 1: They just didn't have enough carries for him. Hugh Freeze
- 31:38Speaker 1: didn't know how to use him. Insert Jackson Arnold. They
- 31:42Speaker 1: didn't know how to use him. DeMario Alston is going
- 31:44Speaker 1: to have a great night running the football. All the
- 31:47Speaker 1: talk about Oklahoma State's new look offense that came from
- 31:49Speaker 1: North Texas in the same league with Tulsa. Now, all
- 31:53Speaker 1: of a sudden, here comes Tulsa exposing the Cowboys defense.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Give me Tulsa. Plus the 13 and a half. Plus
- 32:01Speaker 1: 13 and a half.
- 32:01Speaker 2: There's only one guy that plays more golf than Trey Lamb,
- 32:04Speaker 2: and that is this.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Guy right here. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I would just go back to the last time Eric
- 32:09Speaker 2: Morris matched up with Trey Lamb.
- 32:11Speaker 1: When was that? Two years ago. Two years ago? How'd
- 32:13Speaker 1: that go? Where was that, North Texas? Yeah. In Tulsa? 52-20,
- 32:16Speaker 1: North Texas. Oh, so it was a payback game. No, well,
- 32:19Speaker 1: I mean, I guess if you look at it like that.
- 32:21Speaker 1: It's a payback game. Or business as usual for Air Force.
- 32:25Speaker 1: The numbers, it's a scary number at 13 and a half.
- 32:27Speaker 1: That's right. If it was 14, I wouldn't play it.
- 32:29Speaker 1: 13 and a half, it gets into my model. Okay.
- 32:32Speaker 1: And my model says, play Tulsa. Play the home dog
- 32:35Speaker 1: when it's 13 and a half.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Hey, Blake has a question for Lance's play before we
- 32:38Speaker 4: get too far away from it. He wants to know
- 32:39Speaker 4: if Butch Jones' dad is still sitting on the scoreboard
- 32:41Speaker 4: for this game.
- 32:42Speaker 1: So... But that's a road game. Did Butch Jones' dad travel? Yeah,
- 32:45Speaker 1: he travels. Okay, okay. So he'll be on the scoreboard?
- 32:48Speaker 2: For in Tiger Stadium, he might be on the scoreboard.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Arkansas State, Jonesboro, he's on sidelines.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, gotcha. Yep. That gets us to Forrester, who
- 32:55Speaker 1: only does his AI. He refuses to... They're fantastic. be
- 32:59Speaker 1: a peon and draw, get marker... dust all over his
- 33:02Speaker 1: hands and shirt.
- 33:04Speaker 5: I promise I put more time into this than anybody
- 33:07Speaker 5: up there.
- 33:09Speaker 6: I promise.
- 33:09Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Lance took his home yesterday. Lance took his home, Scott. Yeah,
- 33:12Speaker 1: but Lance didn't put the time in it. Matty did. Oh, okay. Well,
- 33:16Speaker 1: you don't know if Debbie's writing programs at the Forrester household.
- 33:19Speaker 3: That's right.
- 33:20Speaker 1: That's true.
- 33:20Speaker 5: I can assure you that's not happening either. Debbie wants
- 33:23Speaker 5: nothing to do with any of this.
- 33:27Speaker 1: All right. Give us your pick, Forrester.
- 33:29Speaker 2: All right.
- 33:30Speaker 5: Um.
- 33:31Speaker 5: So everybody's in love with Will Stein, right?
- 33:34Speaker 1: That's right.
- 33:35Speaker 5: He, in Kentucky, is the next Indiana.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Correct? Correct. Correct. That's what they're saying. All right. Well,
- 33:42Speaker 1: we're going to Crother Field. Oh, no.
- 33:45Speaker 5: Where a famous internet gif is going to be reenacted.
- 33:50Speaker 5: The penguin is going to shove the wildcat into the turf.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Oh, man. That is a terrible loss, Scott.
- 34:00Speaker 5: And Youngstown State's getting 23 and a half.
- 34:03Speaker 1: That's a lot of points. I see the fire Mark Pope.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I think Mark Pope would love this. Take a little
- 34:08Speaker 1: pressure off of him immediately. We'll buy out there. Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 1: I love AI. And the signs in the stand is
- 34:13Speaker 1: fire Mark Pope. Punch him in the face, throw him down.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Go Penguins.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Such an angry penguin. And look, there's a shot coming
- 34:22Speaker 1: up here that'll show you the, right there. There's USC's
- 34:25Speaker 1: crowd showed up. The half-empty student section.
- 34:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Fire Mark Pope. All right, so Youngstown State is the
- 34:30Speaker 1: play from Forrester there, plus 23 and a half.
- 34:33Speaker 5: He's trying to— Might be a play for a cover there, but,
- 34:34Speaker 5: you know.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. I like it. I like it. That gets
- 34:38Speaker 1: us to the— oh, wait. Where'd Brown go? He left, you idiots. Okay,
- 34:43Speaker 1: give us the introduction to the new character. Who is this?
- 34:45Speaker 1: This is the Brown Bandit, for those of you on
- 34:47Speaker 1: Sport and State. Clay Travis? I'll never listen to you
- 34:52Speaker 1: guys again. Oh, wait a minute. Somebody else says that. Hey,
- 34:55Speaker 1: welcome in.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Sport and state. My name is the Brown Bandit. I
- 34:58Speaker 4: don't know if these idiots showed you the standings last year.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Did you? Yes, we did. Who won? Of the eligible people,
- 35:04Speaker 1: I think Forrester won. Yeah, but the Brown Bandit, I
- 35:07Speaker 1: am a professional. Hey, I did. I've got a question here.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Why does the Brown Bandit not help Brian Brown out
- 35:13Speaker 2: with his pick 30?
- 35:14Speaker 1: Brown's an idiot. He will not listen.
- 35:16Speaker 4: But I don't know if he's brought it up on
- 35:18Speaker 4: the show, but Brown called me sometime this summer. He's like,
- 35:22Speaker 4: you coming back this year? I was like, am I
- 35:24Speaker 4: coming back? This is the only way these idiots get
- 35:26Speaker 4: games right is if I'm here. Of course I'm coming back,
- 35:29Speaker 4: and I'll go ahead and tell you who I'm picking
- 35:30Speaker 4: week one. He better not have mentioned it.
- 35:32Speaker 1: On the show. He has not. He hasn't? Good. He
- 35:35Speaker 1: has not, no. Good. Because I've got an outright winner
- 35:40Speaker 1: week one.
- 35:41Speaker 4: That is catching 10 and a half points, though somebody
- 35:44Speaker 4: earlier said nine and a half points.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Give me C-L-E-M-S-O-N.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Clemson, 10 and a half points. That's where I saw yesterday.
- 35:58Speaker 4: That's where we're playing it. Clemson minus the 10 and
- 36:00Speaker 4: a half. Listen, LSU could have five NFL players in
- 36:05Speaker 4: this game, right? Five, as many as five. My sources
- 36:08Speaker 4: in the locker room say that's a problem for LSU.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin could say it's good all he wants. It's
- 36:12Speaker 4: a problem for LSU having five NFL players.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin has a losing record with NFL players.
- 36:16Speaker 4: He has a losing record with NFL players. Do not
- 36:20Speaker 4: beat me to the words of my own script. Lane Kiffin,
- 36:23Speaker 4: you've seen him coach NFL players is what I was
- 36:26Speaker 4: going to say.
- 36:27Speaker 1: How did that go, Lance? It did not go well.
- 36:30Speaker 4: It's not going to go well again. Dabo Sweeney, he's
- 36:32Speaker 4: been sitting in the weeds in Clemson. Nobody's talking. Little
- 36:36Speaker 4: old Clemson. Little old Clemson.
- 36:38Speaker 1: B-Y-O-G. Poor old Dabo. Poor old Dabo.
- 36:41Speaker 4: No, sir, they're going to B-Y-O-G, bring their own guts.
- 36:44Speaker 4: They're giving me 10.5 points in this game. Tyler Johns,
- 36:48Speaker 4: guess what?
- 36:53Speaker 1: Clemson. I like this play.
- 36:55Speaker 4: I hope Brown hasn't mentioned it once, but I heard
- 36:57Speaker 4: the co-host of the next reels on this show. One
- 37:00Speaker 4: day say that Clemson's going to beat Miami too. So
- 37:03Speaker 4: the co-host of the next reels, he's really big on Clemson.
- 37:06Speaker 1: It wasn't you. It was the other guy. Who's that
- 37:07Speaker 1: other guy with you? That would be Lance Taylor. Lance Taylor.
- 37:11Speaker 4: He likes Clemson beating Miami. Give me Clemson. Plus ten
- 37:15Speaker 4: and a half.
- 37:15Speaker 1: We don't need them. They win this game outright. Who's
- 37:18Speaker 1: the quarterback? For Clemson? Yeah. Do you want me to
- 37:22Speaker 1: tell you? Dabo has an announcement. Well, I know. That's
- 37:23Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Is it going to be Tate? Is
- 37:24Speaker 1: it going to be Vazina? I don't know. No, it's
- 37:26Speaker 1: going to be Vazina. He's going to play all snaps.
- 37:28Speaker 1: All the snaps. Yeah, he's going to tear it up.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I'm going to check. I bet the orange is back
- 37:31Speaker 1: in there. I bet he definitely emptied the clip on
- 37:33Speaker 1: that orange, and I bet it's back over there. I
- 37:35Speaker 1: guarantee it draws. My question is, as you're... success continues
- 37:40Speaker 1: and your head gets bigger and bigger, are we going
- 37:42Speaker 1: to have to get a bigger size of the headband?
- 37:45Speaker 4: This is a different mask that I wore last year
- 37:48Speaker 4: and it's killing my eyes. Like your eyes aren't, the
- 37:50Speaker 4: holes aren't big enough for your eyes.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I agree completely. My eyes agree too. I don't wear
- 37:56Speaker 1: the other mask. The bands above the ears are screaming
- 37:59Speaker 1: right now. I'm going to have pink eye tomorrow. I
- 38:01Speaker 1: don't know. Where did that one come from?
- 38:03Speaker 4: It was saying it to me. It was like, here's
- 38:05Speaker 4: your mask from last year.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I don't think it is. The bands just above the
- 38:11Speaker 1: ears are like the waistband of Chip Kelly's coaching shorts.
- 38:15Speaker 1: They're screaming right now. I agree. All right. That is
- 38:18Speaker 1: an upset alert for week one. Around the table, we've
- 38:20Speaker 1: got two Clemsons. We've got one Arkansas State, a Tulsa,
- 38:25Speaker 1: and a Youngstown State. Nothing screams week one more than
- 38:29Speaker 1: an Arkansas State, a Tulsa, and a Youngstown State. in
- 38:33Speaker 1: Upset Alert. That's week one. We're getting ready for the games.
- 38:36Speaker 1: When we come back, we'll make more picks. How about
- 38:39Speaker 1: who's going to win the Heisman Trophy? You want more picks?
- 38:42Speaker 1: We got them for you on Sporting State, brought to
- 38:44Speaker 1: you by Hard Rock Bets. All right, Upset Alerts are in.
- 38:48Speaker 1: They'll stay up throughout the show. You'll see them in
- 38:50Speaker 1: front of you if you want to go make those
- 38:52Speaker 1: plays at Hard Rock Bets when you get to that
- 38:55Speaker 1: part of your weekend coming up. Week one officially kicking
- 38:58Speaker 1: off on Thursday night. Couple SEC games going on Thursday
- 39:03Speaker 1: and Friday. Missouri opens up against Arkansas Pine Bluff. Friday
- 39:06Speaker 1: you get UTEP and Oklahoma to kick off the SEC season.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Best game on Thursday night though, Colorado and Georgia Tech.
- 39:15Speaker 1: 7 o'clock Central, 8 Eastern on ESPN where Georgia Tech's
- 39:19Speaker 1: about a 6.5 point favorite in that one. Alberto Mendoza
- 39:25Speaker 1: getting his first career start for Georgia Tech. The key
- 39:30Speaker 1: to that game though to me is what does colorado's
- 39:34Speaker 1: defense look like against the run game of justice haynes
- 39:37Speaker 1: the one-time alabama and michigan running.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Back not as justice haynes i mean you look at
- 39:42Speaker 2: alberto mendoza his ability to run the football he's not
- 39:45Speaker 2: going to be the same quarterback as his brother but
- 39:47Speaker 2: He played eight games last year. When he came in,
- 39:49Speaker 2: his ability to run at long strides, very athletic. You know,
- 39:54Speaker 2: a different runner than Haynes King, but they're going to
- 39:56Speaker 2: have that similar offense, though, and Justice Haynes is going
- 39:58Speaker 2: to be a big part of it.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Keith immediately in the chat room says Tech large. I mean,
- 40:03Speaker 4: I think that's going to be a very, very popular
- 40:05Speaker 4: pick Thursday night. Everybody's looking at this point spread.
- 40:07Speaker 1: It's a weird number.
- 40:08Speaker 4: They can't figure it out. Like, Georgia Tech is at home.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Colorado did not have a good season last year. Georgia Tech.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Had a pretty good season.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Brinkey, it seems like programs that are going opposite directions
- 40:18Speaker 4: right there, yet this is a pretty small number for
- 40:20Speaker 4: Colorado on the road.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I look at it, dude, I'm like, how is this
- 40:24Speaker 1: only six and a half? It's a weird, stinky fish
- 40:27Speaker 1: type number.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and how good is Julian Lewis going to be
- 40:29Speaker 2: a quarterback? You know, I think that's a big question
- 40:32Speaker 2: for Colorado.
- 40:33Speaker 1: He had some moments last year. Remember, they lost their
- 40:35Speaker 1: best left tackle to LSU. Jordan Seaton. Yeah, but they
- 40:38Speaker 1: brought in a ton of portal players, and Deion seems
- 40:40Speaker 1: to be happy with it. Interesting game Thursday night, Colorado
- 40:43Speaker 1: and Georgia Tech. Tell us about Clay Travis Law, and
- 40:45Speaker 1: we'll talk Heisman Trophy. Hey, accidents do not wait for
- 40:49Speaker 1: a good time. One bad moment, a wreck.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Fall doctor who wasn't paying attention and suddenly you're fighting
- 40:54Speaker 2: an insurance company that does this every single day that's
- 40:57Speaker 2: why clay started clay travis law built a firm around
- 41:00Speaker 2: one idea people deserve someone willing to pay attention ask
- 41:03Speaker 2: the hard questions and push back when things don't add
- 41:06Speaker 2: up experienced trial attorneys who bring the fight to corporations
- 41:09Speaker 2: and insurers based in Nashville, trusted across the country. They
- 41:13Speaker 2: lead negotiations with honesty, determination, and some Southern grit. Case
- 41:18Speaker 2: evaluation is free. No charge, no pressure, no hassle. Just
- 41:21Speaker 2: tell them your story. Go to claytravislaw.com. Call 877-222-4444. That's claytravislaw.com.
- 41:30Speaker 2: No case is too big or too small.
- 41:32Speaker 1: You know, when you talk about the Heisman Trophy, sometimes
- 41:34Speaker 1: you have to sort of play out the season in
- 41:37Speaker 1: your head on what's going to be happening next. near
- 41:39Speaker 1: the end of the season when the Heisman votes are
- 41:42Speaker 1: finalized during conference championship weekend. So with that in mind,
- 41:47Speaker 1: if I said Heisman winner for you guys, where do
- 41:50Speaker 1: you start? Like C.J. Carr would be my pick to
- 41:53Speaker 1: start with, but then I start playing it out throughout
- 41:56Speaker 1: the course of the year. He's going to look really
- 41:58Speaker 1: good early on, right, build up some momentum, but his
- 42:01Speaker 1: tough games mid and late in the year, especially that
- 42:04Speaker 1: Miami game, if they don't win it, I think that
- 42:06Speaker 1: kicks him out of the Heisman lead. So I'm interested
- 42:10Speaker 1: in where you and Arch's schedule may be too tough
- 42:12Speaker 1: for Arch to win it if they don't win all
- 42:14Speaker 1: their games. Where do you guys go in the Heisman
- 42:16Speaker 1: campaign this year?
- 42:18Speaker 2: I think it has become a little bit trendy. If
- 42:20Speaker 2: you can find a non-quarterback to win this award.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I love C.J. Carr.
- 42:25Speaker 2: I agree with Glad he might be the best quarterback
- 42:26Speaker 2: in college football coming into the season. I just don't
- 42:29Speaker 2: think there's enough quality opponents on that schedule. I think
- 42:32Speaker 2: he's going to be a finalist. With all that said,
- 42:34Speaker 2: if Miami can go 11-1 or 12-0, I think Malachi
- 42:37Speaker 2: Toney could be the guy. I'm going to go Jeremiah
- 42:39Speaker 2: Smith at Ohio State because I think those Cornell take
- 42:42Speaker 2: grabs 50-plus last year, a lot of those are going
- 42:44Speaker 2: to gravitate over to Jeremiah Smith.
- 42:47Speaker 1: And I wouldn't be surprised if he.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Has 90 grabs, 1,500 yards, and 20 touchdowns.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Would it surprise you? that Julian Sayen had more passing
- 42:57Speaker 1: yards than Arch, more passing yards than Dante Moore, more
- 43:00Speaker 1: passing yards than C.J. Carr last year. It's so weird.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Because he's an Ohio State quarterback, but it's almost like
- 43:06Speaker 4: he plays in anonymity.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I mean, you know what I'm saying? Nobody talks about
- 43:10Speaker 1: him really for the Heisman. I mean, I threw out
- 43:12Speaker 1: his completion percentage last week, and you guys were blown away. 73%.
- 43:14Speaker 2: 77%.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I guess 73%.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:14Speaker 1: 3,610 yards, 32 touchdowns. Arch only had 3,100 yards, 3,500
- 43:15Speaker 1: for Dante.
- 43:15Speaker 4: $ 2, 700.
- 43:26Speaker 1: For C.J. Carr.
- 43:27Speaker 4: I mean, Julian Sane almost gets ignored because it's like
- 43:31Speaker 4: he's not going to play in the NFL, most people think.
- 43:34Speaker 4: I think a lot of people are like, I mean,
- 43:36Speaker 4: anybody could have those passing yards at Ohio State. My gosh,
- 43:38Speaker 4: he's still one of the best receivers in football.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Now, Sane might have this, though.
- 43:41Speaker 2: When's the last time Ohio State quarterback, was it Troy Smith,
- 43:44Speaker 2: I guess, won a Heisman Trophy in 2006?
- 43:46Speaker 1: I believe that's the last one I can remember.
- 43:48Speaker 2: But the difference this year, we talk about the difficulty
- 43:50Speaker 2: of the schedule. So quarterbacks get a lot of credit
- 43:54Speaker 2: for top 25 wins. You've got to go to number
- 43:56Speaker 2: five Texas. You go to 22 Iowa, number six Indiana,
- 44:01Speaker 2: number 14 USC, number two Oregon comes in, and you've
- 44:05Speaker 2: got number 16 Michigan coming in. I mean, you've got
- 44:08Speaker 2: difficult games all over the place, so if he's putting
- 44:10Speaker 2: up numbers, it's not like he's padding stats against bad competition.
- 44:13Speaker 4: So let me answer your question this way, if I
- 44:15Speaker 4: could quickly, Dunaway. If you just considered week zero, that's
- 44:18Speaker 4: all you can consider right now, who's your Heisman favorite? Like,
- 44:21Speaker 4: all you can consider is week zero.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just saying, all you can consider
- 44:25Speaker 1: is week zero. Who would you... I'm making a point here.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Who would you... So right now, if I... Pribula, probably. Yeah,
- 44:30Speaker 1: both Pribula, probably. Or Pribula. How do you say it?
- 44:32Speaker 1: Pribula or Pribula? I've always said Pribula. But him? I
- 44:36Speaker 1: heard it's... In the actual game, I heard it said
- 44:38Speaker 1: three different ways. I've always said Pribula. Undetermined. And I
- 44:41Speaker 1: think that's right, but... All right. Who do you see...
- 44:45Speaker 1: But would that not be the favorite right now? Probably, probably.
- 44:48Speaker 4: Who do you see in week one games? Like if
- 44:50Speaker 4: you just consider week one, like you could foresee them
- 44:53Speaker 4: taking a Heisman.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Lead if that's all you considered. I mean, Dante Moore
- 44:57Speaker 1: is going against Boise. It's a brand. And it's on CBS,
- 45:01Speaker 1: so a lot of people will see it.
- 45:02Speaker 2: I mean, Byron Brown, if he comes out and just
- 45:04Speaker 2: completely lights it up. It's on ABC, so a lot
- 45:06Speaker 2: of people will see it.
- 45:07Speaker 1: That could be one. I mean, obviously Sam Levitt. No doubt. C.J. Carr, though,
- 45:11Speaker 1: on Sunday night against Wisconsin, if Notre Dame does that.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I'm going to send it out on Monday night.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Or Sunday night, excuse me. Same time. Yeah, I mean, DeMond.
- 45:20Speaker 1: So there are a few.
- 45:21Speaker 2: DeMond Williams, if Washington goes 10-2 with that schedule, they've
- 45:25Speaker 2: got a 3 o'clock NBC Sunday game.
- 45:27Speaker 4: But I think the first big Heisman statement game where
- 45:32Speaker 4: somebody could stake their flag is Texas-Ohio State. And I
- 45:37Speaker 4: think it'll be Arch Manning that stakes his flag there.
- 45:39Speaker 4: I think this will be the best we see of
- 45:40Speaker 4: Arch Manning, Texas facing Ohio State. It is going to
- 45:44Speaker 4: be the game of the nation. Maybe it's that. Maybe
- 45:46Speaker 4: the out-of-conference game of the year. I mean, you can
- 45:48Speaker 4: put any label on it you want. I think Arch
- 45:51Speaker 4: Manning will stake his flag there. Now, are the numbers
- 45:53Speaker 4: going to be spectacular? He's playing Ohio State's defense? Probably not.
- 45:57Speaker 4: But I think people will look at it with that
- 45:59Speaker 4: in mind and understand it's Matt Patricia's defense. and we'll
- 46:02Speaker 4: say that was a Heisman-worthy performance, and he'll take the
- 46:04Speaker 4: early lead.
- 46:05Speaker 1: You guys know this. Nobody wins a Heisman in September.
- 46:07Speaker 1: They don't. That is probably the worst place for him
- 46:09Speaker 1: to be, in fact, is in the lead at September.
- 46:11Speaker 1: I mean, this isn't scientific.
- 46:12Speaker 2: 75% of these winners come on in November and have
- 46:15Speaker 2: these special games.
- 46:16Speaker 4: With all that said, I think he will lead start
- 46:18Speaker 4: to finish. I think Arch Manning wins the Heisman trophy.
- 46:20Speaker 1: But to your point, Lance, Malachi Toney gets a national
- 46:23Speaker 1: stage on Friday night, Miami on the road at Stanford.
- 46:26Speaker 1: If he goes out and he returns a kick and
- 46:28Speaker 1: he Runs one in, throws one. He starts doing that
- 46:30Speaker 1: kind of stuff, and then he gets that early momentum,
- 46:32Speaker 1: and you can ride that all year. Where's his biggest game?
- 46:35Speaker 1: It's at Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, which is in November, which,
- 46:37Speaker 1: to your point, that's where you could really launch it.
- 46:39Speaker 2: But Malachi Toney's one of these guys you can look up,
- 46:41Speaker 2: and all-purpose yards every game. He's got like 200 all-purpose yards.
- 46:45Speaker 1: That's right. That's right. It should be a fun season,
- 46:48Speaker 1: so if you had to pick right now. Arch Manning.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Arch Manning's the guy I will lock in. I'll go
- 46:52Speaker 1: Jeremiah Smith. Jeremiah Smith. And I will go the other
- 46:56Speaker 1: side of that, trying to thread the needle. I'll go
- 46:58Speaker 1: Julian Sane. I mean, that's the hard part. Is it
- 47:01Speaker 1: the quarterback? Is it the receiver? But you're right. It
- 47:04Speaker 1: does feel like a Devontae Smith, Mac Jones type situation
- 47:08Speaker 1: with Jeremiah Smith because he's considered the best player in football.
- 47:10Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Devontae was never considered that maybe until the end of
- 47:13Speaker 2: the year. I think going into the season, everybody's like,
- 47:15Speaker 2: best player in football is Jeremiah Smith. If he puts
- 47:17Speaker 2: up massive numbers at the end of the year, an
- 47:20Speaker 2: easy argument would be, well, this guy's been the best
- 47:22Speaker 2: player in football the last couple of years.
- 47:24Speaker 1: He deserves the Heisman trophy.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Brady says a running back will win the Heisman this year.
- 47:27Speaker 4: If it's a running back, who is it?
- 47:29Speaker 1: If it is a running back... There's just not one
- 47:34Speaker 1: that jumps out at me.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Bo Jackson, sophomore out of Ohio State.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Another Ohio State player. T. Juan Lacy. I mean, how
- 47:39Speaker 1: good is Ole Miss going to be? I mean, he's
- 47:41Speaker 1: on the sphere and at Times Square. I would tell
- 47:44Speaker 1: you this. There's a resurgent of running back popularity in
- 47:47Speaker 1: the NFL, right? Like, you're supposed to draft... If you've
- 47:51Speaker 1: got the first three or four picks, you're supposed to
- 47:52Speaker 1: draft running back in your fantasy NFL drafts because there's
- 47:55Speaker 1: a handful of difference makers like Jameer and Bijan. Yeah,
- 48:00Speaker 1: I've never done a big fantasy league.
- 48:02Speaker 2: I know we've done a couple up here, but I'm
- 48:03Speaker 2: doing one tomorrow night, and I've got the number one pick,
- 48:05Speaker 2: and I'm taking Gibbs.
- 48:06Speaker 1: I mean, it's Gibbs or Robinson. That's right, and that's
- 48:08Speaker 1: what you're supposed to do because there's five, six game
- 48:10Speaker 1: changers at the NFL level. I don't think that's trickled
- 48:13Speaker 1: back down to the college game yet where, The running
- 48:16Speaker 1: back used to win the Heisman all the time. I
- 48:18Speaker 1: don't think it's trickled back. I think it's more wide
- 48:20Speaker 1: receiver or quarterback.
- 48:21Speaker 2: I mean, to your point, the best running back room
- 48:24Speaker 2: last year, one-two punch, not even close was Jeremiah Love
- 48:26Speaker 2: and Jadarian Price, and they didn't even get to a
- 48:28Speaker 2: college football playoff.
- 48:30Speaker 1: And they were dominant. They really were. And that is
- 48:33Speaker 1: a big question mark for Notre Dame, by the way.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Can they run the football? I am hating my Tulsa
- 48:37Speaker 1: pick now. I wish I'd gone back in. I wish
- 48:39Speaker 1: I'd gone Wisconsin. I really feel like Luke Fickle is
- 48:42Speaker 1: going to save his job this year. Probably can't upset
- 48:45Speaker 1: Notre Dame.
- 48:46Speaker 2: I went through their schedule yesterday, and I was going
- 48:49Speaker 2: through a lot of these schedules for win totals, and
- 48:51Speaker 2: their win total is six and a half. So I
- 48:53Speaker 2: think people are a little higher on fickle this year.
- 48:56Speaker 2: I found six wins, but, man, their schedule is tough too.
- 49:00Speaker 1: They hit the portal a lot like everyone else, and
- 49:03Speaker 1: it's a roll of the dice. Crazy out at Arizona.
- 49:08Speaker 1: What was the big marketing thing? Yesterday in trash we
- 49:11Speaker 1: had a– computerized worm that didn't look like a worm. Yes.
- 49:18Speaker 1: They look something weird. Go check our trash... trash segment
- 49:20Speaker 1: out yesterday, hour four of the next round on our platform.
- 49:25Speaker 1: But sometimes you design things that are supposed to look
- 49:29Speaker 1: one way, and then when they come out of the
- 49:31Speaker 1: production line, they don't look that way. In Arizona this year,
- 49:36Speaker 1: cut 23, they've got the turnover– sword, right? That I
- 49:42Speaker 1: guess is supposed to also look like a cactus. I'm confused. Damn,
- 49:46Speaker 1: it's blurry right here. I'm confused at what it's supposed
- 49:49Speaker 1: to look like. Here is Arizona unveiling their turnover sword
- 49:54Speaker 1: this year.
- 49:55Speaker 5: How about September 5th?
- 49:56Speaker 1: We're having a turnover sword giveaway. Let's go. All right,
- 49:59Speaker 1: Zone of Zoo, get your own turnover sword.
- 50:01Speaker 3: We need you guys rocking and rolling, talking crazy to
- 50:03Speaker 3: the opponents all game.
- 50:04Speaker 5: Get there at 430.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Get your own very big time turnover sword. Grip it
- 50:08Speaker 1: and rip it. He's gripping it and ripping it. Zone
- 50:11Speaker 1: of Zoo, man. Come with y'all.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Turnover sword, man.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Bear down. The turnover soared this year. Yeah. Marketing department.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Rip it and rip it.
- 50:21Speaker 2: And they saw this before they sent it out. It
- 50:22Speaker 2: was almost, I'll never forget. We were on the second level. Tyler,
- 50:26Speaker 2: we're doing a show together probably 15 years ago. And
- 50:29Speaker 2: we've got one TV in the studio at that point.
- 50:31Speaker 2: And the Shake Weight commercial came on. And like, we
- 50:34Speaker 2: had never seen it before.
- 50:35Speaker 1: And like, we're. mid interview.
- 50:37Speaker 2: And we're looking around at each other, like, Holy shit,
- 50:40Speaker 2: what is going on?
- 50:41Speaker 1: Do you remember that commercial? They were very excited about
- 50:44Speaker 1: getting in shape. They would always shake it near their face.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you? Very excited about it. Yeah. Yeah. And that,
- 50:51Speaker 1: that was the commercial. We were like, what is on
- 50:53Speaker 1: our TV?
- 50:54Speaker 3: Right.
- 50:54Speaker 2: And so they sat there, you know, in, in a boardroom,
- 50:57Speaker 2: the marketing team, and they watched the commercial and like,
- 50:59Speaker 2: let's send this out. We're going to sell, sell the
- 51:01Speaker 2: hell out of some shake weights. You know, their social
- 51:03Speaker 2: media team looked at this.
- 51:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:05Speaker 1: I guess it can be a cactus, too, like you
- 51:09Speaker 1: get in the desert. Maybe. But it does look a
- 51:11Speaker 1: little prickly. It looks like a wiener with wings. When
- 51:15Speaker 1: we come back, we'll go to Baton Rouge, one of
- 51:17Speaker 1: our favorites. How do I say his name so I
- 51:19Speaker 1: get it right? Matt Muscana. Muscana. Matt Muscana. You guys
- 51:22Speaker 1: don't know how to do vowels, he said. Matt Muscana
- 51:25Speaker 1: joins us on the other side right here on the
- 51:27Speaker 1: next round presented by Hard Rock Bets on Sporting State.
