- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Let's talk about getting things off your chest.
- 0:33Such a natural phrase for people to say.
- 0:35They're like, I just have to get something off my chest.
- 0:38And when you think about it, what does that actually mean?
- 0:42I mean, really, it's a phrase we all use, but what does it
- 0:45actually mean? Typically it means that we are
- 0:47stuck in a position where we feel like we need to share
- 0:50something to relieve the stress and the pressure of whatever
- 0:54it's causing. And we all can agree with that
- 0:58definition, but we say we have to get it off our chest.
- 1:01It's usually meaning it's heavy on our heart means that we're
- 1:04feeling something in our heart and that that bothers us and we
- 1:09want to talk about it. So what do you do if you have to
- 1:13quote, get something off your chest or off your heart and you
- 1:18can't share it with somebody because either that person is no
- 1:21longer with us, they they're deceased.
- 1:23You know, if you did share it, the person is alive and if you
- 1:26did share it with them, it would cause even more problems.
- 1:29But you know, you have to have that emotional release.
- 1:32Well, I'll tell you some of the best things that I do myself and
- 1:36that I have my clients do is really work on figuring out
- 1:39their strategy to get it out. So for instance, couple really
- 1:44tried and true ones are writing it on paper.
- 1:47There's just something about being human and using paper and
- 1:50pencil to write things down that just brings you to a place of
- 1:53peace, even if you never give it to anybody.
- 1:56Now there is an old wives tale, a Mystic piece of this where if
- 2:01you burn the paper afterwards, obviously not inside the house
- 2:05where it can hurt you or in a trash can or in a sink that
- 2:07causes anything to go off, but outside somewhere where you can
- 2:10burn it or throw it in the fireplace.
- 2:14It releases all that energy back into the universe and you get
- 2:18some relief. Now I don't need to do that.
- 2:20I just find that writing it on the paper and throwing the paper
- 2:23away works for me. So sometimes you get those
- 2:27memories, those upsets and you want to go back and you or, or
- 2:30you, they're you. They're like, not even just
- 2:31memories, they're still with you and you just want to get them
- 2:34off your heart. The paper and pencil is such a
- 2:37great way to do it, and you can put all your anger into it.
- 2:40You can say to the person, I wish you'd apologize, I wish you
- 2:44would act a certain way. You can tell them everything and
- 2:46the relief is insane because you're just getting the honest
- 2:52purge out of you and I highly recommend it.
- 2:56I have had clients, I have not done this, where I've shot a
- 2:59video, talking to it and then watched it back of myself just
- 3:02sitting there and doing it. But I've had clients that have
- 3:04done it and they really like that and then they delete the
- 3:07video. That's a great way to do it.
- 3:10Other times it's just a matter of sitting with a picture of
- 3:13that person and talking to that person and telling them
- 3:15something where you're staring at their picture and talking to
- 3:18them as if they were right there.
- 3:21Again, that's a strategy that people have shared.
- 3:24I've recommended it, and sometimes it works and sometimes
- 3:26it doesn't. And sometimes you have to try
- 3:28two or three different things to really anchor in what is right
- 3:32for you. But the whole point of the
- 3:34exercise is the release, that place where you just get some
- 3:38comfort of getting it out. Now, if you try one of those and
- 3:43it doesn't work, try a different one.
- 3:45Find your way of doing it. I did have someone once that
- 3:49wrote a letter and she didn't know what to do with it and she
- 3:52put it in the ground. She dug a hole and she buried it
- 3:54and she felt like that was really great because she was
- 3:56putting it to rest. It would her place in her mind,
- 3:59it was a place of rest. Again, it's all about your
- 4:04personal preference on this. But when you know you have to
- 4:08get something off your chest and you don't have a strategy to do
- 4:11it, it eats away at you and it takes that energy that could be
- 4:16used somewhere else in your life to create and, and move you
- 4:21closer to abundance or anything else that you want.
- 4:23It's inside of you. And even if it's just like a
- 4:26small thing, if it's eating at you, you've got to deal with it
- 4:31because letting it sit there just makes it faster.
- 4:34And it's not healthy for us mentally or physically.
- 4:38We know this. We know one of the biggest
- 4:40killers of humans is stress and having things unsaid, unattended
- 4:46and unaddressed. And when we don't do those
- 4:48things, they get to us in a big way.
- 4:51So figure out if you have something that you've got to get
- 4:54off your chest, off your heart, do it.
- 4:57I promise you the release is magical.
- 5:00OK my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I will see you
- 5:03all tomorrow. Bye.
