  Speaker 1: date rape when you were a girl would be affecting

  Speaker 1: you on your second marriage? The Bible said that it

  Speaker 1: is the little foxes that destroy the vine. It's not

  Speaker 1: always big stuff. It's little stuff. See, you have to understand.

  Speaker 1: When I looked around and my back went out, I
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: couldn't get out of the bed to turn in my sleep.

  Speaker 1: Woke me up in the middle of the night. The

  Speaker 1: pain was so bad, it was hard not to scream

  Speaker 1: out in the middle of the night. I'm not talking

  Speaker 1: about a little bit of pain. I am not a

  Speaker 1: wimp of a person. I can deal with some stuff.

  Speaker 1: But there I am at 3 o'clock in the morning

  Speaker 1: biting my lip to keep from screaming out in pain

  Speaker 1: because I turned in my sleep and the pain woke
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: me up. Five months after a little incident the incident
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: is over but the after-effects of The effects of not

  Speaker 1: being prepared for what I was getting ready to do,
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: the effects of not stretching properly, the effects of not
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: being geared up for what I was about to do,
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: the effects of stepping into a situation for which I
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: was not prepared left me with months of pain because
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: the preparation did not match up with the process. Now,
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: you know that I didn't bring you out here this
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: morning to talk about running Except you're running a race
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: called life. And many of you didn't start out with
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: the right equipment. You didn't have the support for the race.

  Speaker 1: And when you don't have the support for something, it
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: will really throw you out of a line. And being
• 5:15
  Speaker 1: thrown out of a line affects how you deal with
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: everything else. The rest of your life. In the second
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: half of your life, number one, you have to separate
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: what was purpose from fodder. What you were really meant
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: to do from all of the things that people put
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: in your life that you really weren't meant to do
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: in the first place so that you can focus to
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: make the second half of your life the most effective.
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: That means at some point in your life you have
• 5:54
  Speaker 1: to say, you know what? That wasn't for me anyway.
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: And I was never meant to do that anyway. And
• 6:03
  Speaker 1: this was something that my mother put on me. And
• 6:05
  Speaker 1: this was something that my father wanted. And this is
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: something that my friends wanted. This is something I tried
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: to do to keep up with my brothers and sisters.
• 6:13
  Speaker 1: But this right here, I was born to do that.
• 6:16
  Speaker 1: I was created to do that. And so on the
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: second half, I'm going to focus and reposition my efforts
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: from all of the distractions that divided my focus so
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: that I can have complete alignment and be prepared to
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: make the second half the best half. I tried to
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: beat it, but there isn't. There are some things only
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: age can teach you. Read all the books. Get hands
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: laid on you. Anoint yourself with oil. Talk in tongues.
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: Pray in the Holy Ghost. Don't eat chicken. Don't eat rabbits.

  Speaker 1: Walk backwards. Stand on one foot. Bounce around on your head.

  Speaker 1: But inevitably there are certain things that only time can
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: teach you. Jacob is now an old man. He's learned
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: some stuff. He's done some crazy things. He's made some mistakes.
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: He's been wild. He's been frivolous. He's been irresponsible. He's
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: been crazy. He's been untrustworthy. He's been unpredictable. And he
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: survived it. He's gone through a transformation. to find out
• 7:30
  Speaker 1: who he was from Jacob to Israel. He has, in
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: the process of wrestling with God, found out who he
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: was and then spent the second half of his life
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: trying to make what he found out materialize in his life.
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: And even as he gets ready to die, there is
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: still some flipping in the text between Jacob and Israel.
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: All the way down to the end, there are certain
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: struggles that remain present in your life. As Jacob, he
• 8:01
  Speaker 1: hears that Joseph is coming and he's getting ready to die.
• 8:06
  Speaker 1: Jacob is about to die. But when he heard that
• 8:09
  Speaker 1: Joseph was coming, Israel sat up in the bed and
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: strengthened himself. Y'all don't hear what I'm saying. For the
• 8:18
  Speaker 1: benefit of you that might not know your scriptures, Jacob
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: refers to his old man, who he is, his base nature,
• 8:25
  Speaker 1: his carnality. Israel refers to his divine self, his spiritual self,
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: his holy self, his purposeful self, and all the way
• 8:34
  Speaker 1: down to the grave. We are seeing both people showing
• 8:38
  Speaker 1: up in his life. One moment he's acting like Jacob.
• 8:40
  Speaker 1: The next moment he's acting like Israel. One moment Jacob
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: is in tears. The next moment Israel is standing by faith.
• 8:47
  Speaker 1: One moment Jacob is getting ready to die. The next
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: moment Israel sat up in the bed and strengthened. Have
• 8:53
  Speaker 1: you ever had your divine self sit up in the
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: bed and strengthen your dying self and say, wait a minute.

  Speaker 1: God didn't bring you this far to leave you. Have
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: you ever been ready to give up and then somebody
• 9:06
  Speaker 1: preached a word that made Israel sit up in the bed? Oh,

  Speaker 1: oh God, oh God. To all of my single sons
• 9:26
  Speaker 1: and daughters, Whenever you meet somebody, a prospective candidate to
• 9:30
  Speaker 1: marry them, understand that you are dating at least two people.

  Speaker 1: At least, I mean, saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Ghost,

  Speaker 1: baptized and got it going on and on my way

  Speaker 1: to heaven is still at least two jokers in here
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: at any given day. And you have to figure out
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: which one are you talking to today. Sometimes you're going

  Speaker 1: to get Jacob. And other times... you're going to get Israel. And.

  Speaker 1: Oh God. Oh God. The problem with some people's marriages

  Speaker 1: is that you married Israel. But you got to live

  Speaker 1: with Jacob. Y'all don't want to talk to me. Let

  Speaker 1: me leave that alone. And until you can deal with Jacob,

  Speaker 1: you can't enjoy Israel because both of them show up

  Speaker 1: from time to time without warning because they're both laying

  Speaker 1: in the same bed. you could almost wake up in

  Speaker 1: the morning and say, which one are you today? All

  Speaker 1: the way down to the end of his life, we're

  Speaker 1: still seeing Jacob and Israel struggling for control. This means
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: That if you are waiting for the complete annihilation of
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: Jacob to start your life, your life will be over
• 11:50
  Speaker 1: and Jacob will still have some presence. Y'all don't want
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: to talk to me. He's old now. Israel. Israel. Sat
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: up in the bed. Strengthened himself. And waited for Joseph
• 12:18
  Speaker 1: to come. Death could have took Jacob. But not Israel.

  Speaker 1: Sat up in the bed. He strengthened himself. And Israel
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: always talks about where he was when it happened. He said,
• 12:40
  Speaker 1: and God blessed me and touched my life. And all
• 12:48
  Speaker 1: of these years I have survived. Many times it was
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: Israel that pulled Jacob. Do you all understand what I'm saying?

  Speaker 1: He said, now I'm getting ready to die. And he says,

  Speaker 1: I want you to bring your sons to me that
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: I may bless them. He doesn't have to bless Joseph.
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: He's already blessed Joseph. Now he wants to bless Joseph's seed.

  Speaker 1: These boys' mother was a heathen. an idolater, an Egyptian
• 13:42
  Speaker 1: that Jacob had met while he was in Egypt. They
• 13:48
  Speaker 1: are Hebrew on their father's side, Egyptian on their mother's side.

  Speaker 1: They are monotheistic on their father's side, and they are
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: pluralistic on their mother's side. And as they walk into
• 14:06
  Speaker 1: the room, they have been affected By both. Nobody could
• 14:14
  Speaker 1: have blessed them like Jacob. Because Jacob already knew what
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: it was like to have two opposing personalities. See, let

  Speaker 1: me tell you something. It takes certain people to mentor
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: certain people. I listen at all the pastors on TV
• 14:39
  Speaker 1: who talk about, I don't mean to be crude, but
• 14:42
  Speaker 1: they say that they were raised in church and they
• 14:46
  Speaker 1: come from five generations of spiritual leaderships and they were
• 14:50
  Speaker 1: raised in Sunday school and they were virgins when they
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: got married and these lips have never tasted a cigarette
• 14:58
  Speaker 1: nor drink a liquor or ever smoked a joint in
• 15:02
  Speaker 1: my life. All of my life, I've been a committed
• 15:06
  Speaker 1: Christian to Jesus Christ. You can't help me. Nothing against you.

  Speaker 1: I admire you. I respect you. I honor you. I
• 15:24
  Speaker 1: revere you. You can't help me. I need somebody who
• 15:30
  Speaker 1: has some issues. because I came with some mess in
• 15:36
  Speaker 1: my life. And I need somebody who can lay hands

  Speaker 1: on me that says, been there, done that, got a t-shirt.

  Speaker 1: some mess yourself because you can't relate to all the
