- 2:12[SPEAKER_03]: What the truth is, the real battles happen in the trenches.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_03]: with discipline, sacrifice, and relentless pressure, separate champions from everybody else.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_03]: Today's guest understands that world better than anyone else.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: He's a Super Bowl champion and interior force for
- 2:31[SPEAKER_03]: the Seattle Seahawks and one of the most respected defensive tackles in the league.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_03]: His journey took him from Goldsboro, North Carolina to dominate in college football at Alabama, Crimson Tied Football, and ultimately to the NFL where he built a nearly decade long career battling in the trenches for teams like the Seahawks,
- 2:55[SPEAKER_03]: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packards, but this conversation isn't just about football, it's about how what it takes to become a champion, how to handle pressure when the entire world is watching and the mindset required to win.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_03]: Not just on the field, but in life because by the end of this episode, you're going to understand the mentality it takes to reach this top and stay here.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_03]: So, ladies and gentlemen, welcome inside the vault, Gerard Reed.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_03]: What's up, sir?
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: What's up, sir?
- 3:30[SPEAKER_03]: First of all, congratulations, man.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_03]: And like I think, I mean, I was a hooper, I never made it to nothing.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_03]: No, but I can imagine that somebody like I play basketball for like 30 years, right?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: And so for somebody who loves the game, like to get to the top, like the pinnacle of the sport that you love has to like feel like the best thing in the world so congratulations on that.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: But before we start, I'm going to get into all of all of who you are, you know, you know,
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, well, you know, I'm a kid from Goesboro, North Carolina.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, born and raised, you know.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you a story of the single-panel household.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: I raised him on a grandparents.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's a country boy, you know, just trying to make it, you know.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: Had a little long roll, you know, that's on buzz ahead.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know finally prepared to get where I'm at now, you know, it's playing black and white.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: I play basketball too.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: I was a three-spot athlete Okay, basketball baseball hand football, you know, but um You know my calling when I was 18 definitely There really was football's man.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: You coach like to say because I love basketball too.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: I was I was a big hoop You know, no Carolina is a hoop step
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying, but we get an everything, you know, eventually, you know, there for a bar just to tell me why I need to be.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_03]: What was, take me through that time, like, did you know, like, from college, did you know you were going to get drafted in San Francisco?
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I mean, yeah, I made a joke actually the past weekend because I did this community event for the city.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: I was like talking to the kids in the middle school and I told them that was playing ABC and D. Right.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: That was the only option like literally, you know, uh, for me to do what I wanted to do and I was determined to get that, you know, uh, this boy comes along with that and you learn that along the way you know growing up and stuff.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, how did you kind of, you see like, that was like, you know, ups and downs?
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: How did you avoid like, becoming a statistic, right?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_03]: Because when I think about anybody who grew up into her, who grew up single, you know, parent, like you raise your grip, like a lot of times, like that dark hole you could get into in the streets is like a, it's like a force that it's suck you in, you know what I'm saying?
- 6:00[SPEAKER_03]: So like, how did you imagine, like,
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the thing is, like, I always knew right from Rome.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying, but just like you say, like sometimes, that's the point of like, so I was down there, you know what I'm saying?
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I just didn't want to be a person like, I never wanted to let anybody down.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: And that's, and I kind of had like a deal about myself.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: That people always doubted me and I had a point to prove people were wrong, like over and over again, like, seriously, so you know what I'm saying?
- 6:27[SPEAKER_02]: That was kind of like,
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: When I did a mess up or something, having was like, oh, come on man, like, talking to myself, like, you know, you gotta shape that right?
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: The people are spending you to do that.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: They're spending you to follow to not make it to do X, Y, Z, you know, just a road I took.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think speaks a lot for itself, because I didn't just go straight to Alabama.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like, deep into, I went to Harvard Military Academy.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: First out of high school.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: Reclassified like my last semester school to try to get good grades to go to D1, didn't do that.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: I went to East Mississippi Community College, Junior College for two years.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to announce the championship there as well.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's the last chance you're on there, Flirts.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: Then from there, you know, I went to Alabama for two years, you know, won the national championship there, ended up on the leadership council, Alabama, which is surprising.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: if anybody knows me watching a story, you know, be like that, you know, you know, let me to a 10 year career in the league, you know, going here 11 right now.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was going to go my first Super Bowl with the team that drafted me, and that's, that's, I think, like, the best story ever.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_03]: not one thousand percent right because so so like so talk about that a little bit though right because they drafted you but then you had you you know you had that you had you had some you know you know time with other teams get dropped like you get drafted back and why don't you know it's so light
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: Real talk, never should have left the first time, so like when COVID hit, like the National Football League, the whole like football cap period had dropped, because we was losing a lot of revenue and stuff like that.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: So, um, the year before I had just one of my big deals, and I like, I knew that I was trying to come to me with a construction or something happened within a dialogue that we did meet, and you know, in the us part and ways with each other.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm a win the Kansas City, no good moron great team or awesome great friends there, you know met but it just wasn't for me.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, so then like I kind of had a rough year there.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, so deal with a lot of stuff, um, then I went to Green Bay, which was really like a rejuvenating fact for me, you know, to go there because there's nothing in one's constant period, nothing.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like at all, and you know, you know what I'm saying?
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we stick out like, swore through them.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: Right, right, right, right.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: No, it was just football, and that's all.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: So like I say, and I end up going back to, um, see out in 23, yeah.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I just knew then, like, it just felt like I was back at home.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that was the place I was supposed, I was destined to be as sure, you know what I'm saying?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: So sure.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_03]: when it went in that, um, that Super Bowl, like, what's that, what's that feeling like?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_03]: Like what is that?
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: To be honest, um, like it didn't even hit me the day we won and I just didn't because we were so locked in on the game, like as we always like, that's it.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: You know something because we were coached and we always preach, you know, treat everything the same.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: So we didn't treat, you know, different in the game, like you really felt like we had some more to go.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: But you know, of course we did.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't really hit us to the parade when it was eight o'clock, even more than everybody turned.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if y'all seen any clips from my parade, it was crazy.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: The whole entire day was wild, man, to seeing the whole organization like coming together and just, you know, party for the reason of winning and enjoying that moment.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: It was cool and I think that's like when you really hit, you know, parade the trophy that we were on champions.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_03]: What's, uh, how did you, like the reception from your family, your friends, everybody?
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: My family was crazy because I always, I made a joke with my friends a lot and they're putting over me.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't feel like I want like my mom when it's super bug.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like, seeing her having a game, even till this day is still right now.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: You can't tell her that she didn't win.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: She was, she was recording herself crying.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_02]: She was more excited to me.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: It threw me all because I'm like, it's who.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: You just took your pass on her.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: And it was good, oh man, to see that excitement from my whole entire family, friends, everybody community like, like I told them, you know, bad home like I didn't win, we won, you know.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, this is great moment to share with everybody who's close to everybody who supports you.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, talk, talk about that moment, you know, like, like you grew up in Goldsboro and then you get the key to the city, you're, you know, your, your role model for real.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:58[SPEAKER_03]: Like, again, somebody who, against statistically, you're not really supposed to be where you are, but you like, talk about that a little bit.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: Um, it's, it's, it's definitely, I open it, um, because I never been in that position.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: I never expected to be in that position, so you know what stuff happens.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: I embrace it, hit it head on, but, you know, this past weekend was real.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: I opened it like, because I just think that I'm a regularly guy.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like, when I go home, I'm regularly.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: I ain't skipping a by weight in the line.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: I walk in the stores, I pull up just regular like that's how I am.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not big in the program.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: So just seeing the loving and supporting and seeing how it meant to them.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: That meant more to me than anything.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm saying like, to just, and the kids around there's no that they got a hope from somebody from a small city like that.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: Can make it and make this kind of impact.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, and I think that's what, you know, I like that's why I love seeing this type of success.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_03]: Because there are people to be honest with you, like even if you look at the NFL or basketball, you got those people who had everything, they had the money, they parents would put them into the best schools, was was AAU, you know what I'm saying?
- 12:09[SPEAKER_03]: Like they like it's like a little bit.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_03]: It was supposed to be successful, you know what I'm saying, but like for you to do it, again, just kind of shows like, oh, this is not necessarily supposed to happen, but I've done that the highest level.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: So now others could look and kind of look back and say, you know, he, you could do it as well.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_03]: What, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what,
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: Talk a little bit about your money mindset, right?
- 12:36[SPEAKER_03]: Because I think that especially NFL, right?
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: I think the most sports you're gonna talk about how being able to manage money and things of that nature.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think the NFL is one of the most scariest if I, you know, as financially, because there are no guarantees.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I said?
- 12:56[SPEAKER_03]: Talk a little bit about your money mindset knowing, knowing that.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, when you're young, you know, you got to think, you can't keep up with everybody, right?
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: You got to know where you were and you got to respect where you were.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: And then, like, one thing that I was always telling my younger girls was, anybody like, but don't have to say no, because they are coming.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is, like, people see, like, all the numbers that they put out there, they don't go into death of
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: What the contract really says how much you really get in there like through the years this Voice and all that because I know y'all been seeing like it's people that sign big contracts for five years in the next year They find a way to avoid third of me and dollars that you're getting to you.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like so You know must I say you you got to know you and you got to learn how to say no and you got to Live under your means, you know you got to
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: I like to say, man, I don't care, I like to think like I'm still broke.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I was like, hey, like, because, yeah, I think you got me in dollars.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: You spent a thousand, you got 909 in the middle of all.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, like, it's just, the things like that, man, you got to be smart, man.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: You got to make the best investments.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be voters and people out there trying to come to you, like, amen, I think we should do that.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because it's all, you know, saying bull crap, you know, just, you know, put it up, make smart investments.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: If you got a good money person, man, listen, what they say in the day, like you stick or throw your money, no matter who you win, who you talk to, it's still your money in the day, you know, you, you, you, you got the right to say, yeah, you need anything.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I could imagine like what's the craziest like I did that somebody has come to you with like y'all We should invest in rocket ships like I don't hear something every time It's like being an enemy You know people want to start this open this.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they ain't gonna try to take it there Then they can come and you know come put it's wise in this and being you can get this back on turn You know, yeah, no, because if even ain't black and white
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you can't put two lawyers right there together and you put everything and lay it out so you can see the underlying factors.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: And if you give it for one, you got to spit this gun.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you don't spit nothing back, not unless you said something stoned on black and white with two lures together where you could be able to be in a situation somebody try to play with you where you can go, you know, saying get that back from whoever should understand leaving everybody at state.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, like that.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's that salmon.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like, sign a vice, because I think that that, you know, a lot of times, you know, people try to pressure you into giving up money, but not like, let's make it make sense, right?
- 15:46[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's get all lawyers.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_03]: If it's serious, look at our lawyers together.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_03]: Let's add a conversation.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you know, what is the expected to turn?
- 15:53[SPEAKER_03]: Like, let's see all of that stuff.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_03]: What would you say, you know, throughout like, you know, you know, you know, over a decade, because you're going into your 11th year, um, what would you say is the best, um, money move you may.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: So, the best money move out may so far.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: This was sound crazy, but so I'm gonna go like do a couple avenues, one is getting the real estate, you know, saying, again, somehow's getting some of that whole value and equity over years, yeah, I'm about to start to try again to buy and land, yeah, something I should have been doing, like land is, you could do a lot with land, especially if you get some miles at somebody wants to
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: I know it sounds crazy like watchers hold value, I mean what's saying like if you go on to you know give yourself that's what the point of what me saying that is you know nothing like we know diamonds in it's just a good solid you know real it they just whatever you know some gotta gotta
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: Playing, playing, don't do no type of diamonds, nothing, you know, those whole good value.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to do something, do the reason I'm saying is just do something where if you spend it in it, that you can make it back, right, in that kind of way.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't want to skip over what you just said about land.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: I got one of my homies who put like, I think it like two or three acres of land in a college town and the one of the colleges they were building in that area, he did that.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think they they leased his property like 99 years or something crazy there and they built the campus on it, so he's going to be eating forever and it's not it's a 99 year lease for whatever reasons they couldn't buy the land or
- 17:43[SPEAKER_03]: so they've leased it for 99 years, right?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_03]: But the great thing about it is that now he gets to put that land in his truck.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_03]: And then now after 99 years, like his great grandkids, let's just say that land reversed back to it, but whatever's on it,
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: They probably, I mean, the cops, if I have to renegotiate, whatever they can do, but that's not that probably is going to be worth more.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: So to your point, like having land and holding onto it is definitely going to be a very move for sure, for sure, for sure, for sure.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk a little bit about, um, you know, so you've played an NFL nearly a decade, you want to Super Bowl, would do champion championship teams understand about preparation and accountability that other team.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, hey, that's a great
- 18:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on the leadership again and see how the course I'm older, right?
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: But us collectively, we came with the turn of my time.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: Usually we got to read about a whole team of change for the Super Bowers, real cool.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: They were fake though, but they want fake to go play the right way.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever you want to call that.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: But so like, but we came over with that turn because
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: We had these walking talks, we did like every Thursday of Monday, whatever day it would be that we'll get away from football.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll talk about life and see what everybody's mind that.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: So we wanted to come up with something that that was non-negotiable for being part of our team.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's part of holding each other accountable.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever we came with, you know what's mean, resistance and violence, you know, mission over bullshit, you know, stereotype like that, that it was non-negotiable.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's the way we work.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: We hold each other accountable.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't want to be a player in the language, but that's just raw what it is.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: That was what it was when we walked into the door.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever time in the morning we knew it was.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: We was getting the work.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody ever said a word.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: They're in practice.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody was practicing.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: And all she was of that.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: Me and a couple of the guy went and got deep into the practice.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's a brother and that.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody was on the field working, man.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what separated our team from a lot of teams because we was really physical.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: But like we practiced harder than we played.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: So we was prepared for any type of situation that could happen.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: And the film room, we was all locked in.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like every group had a leader.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: Every group held our every group held ourselves to a certain type of standard.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: Every damn eat that standard you couldn't play that.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like we still had fun and stuff.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_02]: But we just knew what time it was.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: We was time to go to work, you know.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: when you talk like you want to be the best, you got to actually be the best.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's not just one day, that's like every day.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I love that because I think I think people don't get to see like they like they see the highlights.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_03]: They see what they see on the television, but they don't know the the work behind the scenes that that come with that.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_03]: The fence's tackle is one of the most physical and strategic positions of football.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_03]: What's the chess match between offensive and defensive
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't say, you know, uh, everybody gets to like air by little sex, right, but that's cool.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: I love sex too.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: We say one thing is a million dollars, but uh, like when you play in the run, it's a whole different ball game.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_02]: And so we play the run with the light box, right?
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: So that's like, you see some teams, they got like six people at the line five people at the line.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_02]: We got four.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: against any type of formation that you could think of.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: So that means your two answer are players.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: Have to whip ass.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: Like, constantly.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: So we're getting double team majority other times.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: He went with one person.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: You whipping, too.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I think, like, whenever a guy plays a double team block and makes a play on, our young guy Byron Murphy does that probably the best.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: He has like a knee drop technique before he's still young.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: He can get away with that.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like, versus me, like, oh, yeah, it's my normal mind.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: No, we got, I got a grown that dad's drinking.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: We got to see how strong he really is now.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I think for me, that's probably the chest match that I would say that people don't really want to see.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: I know you said that want to see, but that they need to see.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's the, that's the hard work right there.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: They keep a line back at clean, you know, playing through two people.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then do some big dudes.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_03]: I have a judge.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_03]: How do you keep your body is your investment as well, right?
- 22:09[SPEAKER_03]: Like, how do you keep your body in condition?
- 22:13[SPEAKER_03]: What does recovery look like for a professional athlete?
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, I spend somewhat the most money on my body.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: So that's like, I do a lot of massage work.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: I need to do more Pilates and more yoga for sure.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: But you know, I do a lot of massage.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: I do a lot of stretching.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to do a lot of like acupuncture and little things that can get them to like the new weeks of arrogance.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's a bunch of stuff you do to accumulate the ring of body back to where it was at for you to be able to perform at your on people's performance, but it's not just a one-day thing.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: This is something I do every day and it's like the at the hour or so light.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: My days as a regular day, like during the week, our usually like 12 or 13 hour days.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: And nobody can really, really understand that because it's just like when you start in that seven the clock in the morning, you know, you waking up at six.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: I spend 10 minutes rolling in the bed that I want to get up.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: This, like, just get ready.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't, you know, head in the work, you know, work out means that I lie.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: But you know, so after the fact, you know, we're doing probably like what six says the club.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the money.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's two hours, two hours, 30 minutes, the bodywork.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, to prepare for the next day.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: And, um,
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like cryo chambers, hyperbearate chambers for blood flow, and I did an oxygenated blood.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: IVU's too, that's good.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's a nutrients or vitamins you need because it's hard to do that naturally, and just do watering through food all the time.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I was messing around with that.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's a, it's a, it's a plethora of things that you know just go on with that.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: Man, it's just time in, and what is it?
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: T and C, 10 to 11 care for your body, man?
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: Hoping the sauna cold time a coat of all that man steam room.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of my idea before I go out to pray It's like like a little sounding.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know get a little steam when get a little stretch It's just loosen up.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, open up the body a little bit.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: I definitely have some salt before practice Yeah, it's your over four back there.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, obviously so I do before in after like before
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: I do a little contrast, just short time, like two, three minutes of peace, to get loose.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: Now I go, I'm sitting on a little bit, then I go shout, now I'm ready to go for practice.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I love that.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_03]: So you've been in multiple locker rooms, Seattle, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, what separates organizations that win championships from those who struggle?
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I think it starts, you know, from the top, uh, I think it starts with, you know, for one, I'm ownership, you know, that leads down to them getting good leader of men as a coach.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a coach putting together a great staff.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I think, uh, another thing that I noticed through this year too, like, the assistant head coach role like the assistant head coach liaison for us.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: That was a little bit of a pleasure.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: But he played in the league and he was a guy that coached in the league for a long time, like having that person along with the leader of men to help guy him into certain situations, he may can't, you know, decipher or figure out, it's a great thing.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: Then when you put together a good staff behind that, and people with the same mentality.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: that builds a team like for my set for the way they compete, the way they practice the way they see themselves as men.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think all that is what builds a whole type of builders or team or unit your community that you need to be like good team.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_03]: Here's the question right because you mentioned something really strong about mindset.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_03]: If you, if you have a group of guys who are super-duber talented, and you have a group of guys who are less talented, if the less talented group has the right mindset, do they win?
- 25:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's mindset more important than talented, I guess you're going to ask.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's, I mean, yes, I would definitely say yes, you know, because sometimes like when you got a town, you're just naturally get through that what you do.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: So like you can kind of have the right mindset for this whole play, but somebody just physically be like, that must bed to where stuff just falls on a day, so I sometimes but where that comes in is doing right longer.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: If you got the right mindset and that's what we say like, you got the mindset, I look at like, this is college football
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I feel like the 10, some more teams they play were more talented in the night.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: But the mindset they had was just unbelievable for them not to be stopped, not to be denied and they did right longer.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I guess you can kind of say, like, you know, the mindset, you know, could overcome any type of physical attributes any day.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, now I like that do right longer, right?
- 26:48[SPEAKER_03]: Cause it, you know, recipes and tipsy also to talk about, it's a marathon, right?
- 26:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, a lot of times people get excited about winning one once a twice, but like, he's doing, he's like, he's doing it.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_03]: When you step into the field for a big game, especially like a playoff, Super Bowl run, what like men-to-preparation happens before that, that first night?
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: For me, I'd probably say it's just to be loose and focused.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't really go to a situation.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, really nervous anything because, like, when I was younger, I used to get, like, just a black hole and I stood like a butterfly.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like, who?
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you prepare your mind is the right way that this got you during the week, it's like, what do you have to lose, you know, and she playing on the team is the best thing.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, by yourself, you know, it's like, well, me, I'm looking at 10 of the guys, I'm like, shit.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_02]: Because I ain't, you know what I'm saying like, let's go like down before the Super Bowl winning flinch I won't be it.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: We just, we was just the whole way.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like, cause I'm like, amp duck, I'm ready, but we're still loose.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: So, like, we're gonna make it joke or yeah.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, just a little fun, you know, we all still mean, they do the other one around playing, but, you know, it's just, or the national anthem good, that's kind of like, all right, yeah, let's go, nobody, but, you know, and all and all, like, this is game, I'm playing songs a kid, yeah, so it's still a kid's game, who's getting paid to play like he is game night, I'm still doing what I love to do, you know?
- 28:26[SPEAKER_03]: What's the theme music, like, what's getting you
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, okay, yeah, so it's funny.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: I got my ways I go through.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, we come in, it's the NBA, the game vote, the air buddy, you know, the loser, the loser, it's the air buddy.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: But when putting pants on, I'm such a football judge and they're like, I want everybody to be in the same mindset, like we could on some rock music.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, we got my boys on the team, like McDonald, AJ and then they got the war paid, you know,
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's like the program.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's like parents.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: I would call them rock music.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: But if you go hand to hand like I like listening to every type of music for real Like that gives us going because it started like we're not Thursday's workout.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: We play rock music like heavy metal.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we in the pump in the way
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's how you know how we getting down.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_02]: Seven to clock in the morning, but on before we go out, our son, before we go out, every town as a team is 100 socks.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they all saying, yeah, that's that's how I go to song we all love, man.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's a lie.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, stick to get us.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm over.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: You feel me?
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_03]: And we out there, we ride.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I love it.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of young athletes believe that making it to the NFL automatically means wealth and security for what you've seen, how dangerous is that assumption?
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's very dangerous because in the film, it's not for long.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Right, oh, you know what I'm saying?
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: For long.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's the very, that people know, you know, you're spending for most people's like three years.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: If I say three to four, I like say two to three.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't sing.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_02]: People come in so I was really great.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: They just get swallowed up because because they're following to that typical of my set of thought What they think the likes are supposed to be and it's not that because in the day you're professional right So you gotta go then be professional everything so just going back to taking care of your body long journey
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm being prepared, I mentioned being prepared, being able to decipher play, decipher playbook, and with the pay attention to being able to talk football, knowledge, with coaching.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't get it then it's all you learn.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: The worst thing you can do is go out to practice, especially being a young guy or freezing whatever is going at the practice.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: They tell you to do one thing different, but then next two days it's till they're telling you the same thing Yeah, yeah, it's the worst thing you ever do.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's gonna be the first way for you to be you know saying packing bags on where you know saying like And you got to pay attention to detail sure what what was the secret for you 10 years.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's like what was the secret
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, I had a kind of set like a bar for myself that I wanted to do, you know, something that I still haven't gotten, get that I'm still shooting for, I'm gonna keep you strive for.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: But I had some good vets, man.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like real talk like I came in, I came in with some guy.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: I came with the original lesion of bones.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_02]: So like coming in with those guys that's a rookie and coming from a program like I came from I was already still winning.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: I knew how to work.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's just that I had to learn how to be a professional.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so like just I used to watch them.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's why I tell you on kids like you never know who's watching because I didn't tell them.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: I just used to watch what they did and watch what they do.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: No, how they took care of their body, you know, how they prepared or
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: If like Michael Bennett was he knew like plays before that was happening I thought was the best thing ever because you play so fast Yeah, you can make something you place and like I remember just answer Rick I'm like yeah my hearing like He then doesn't know that though, but I was like and it's something I want to do so
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: I used to go, my playbook, I used to write every play, draw the plays out and put our formation, how they'll attack us, every play, and I go through plays like that.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't watch it, it goes that.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: So when I got the practice, I was calling plays out playing fast and it just happened to be a thing and I just made it my own thing.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I just took what they did, took what I'd do, just made it into my whole idea, you know, got a whole routine I do, I stick with, it's been working for me.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_03]: And if I could unpack what you said, just feel like anywhere you go, just add value.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: Don't just go with it, give you like, add value.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know what I'm saying because again, if you go there and you're waiting for them to give you something, and they have to keep telling you stuff over and over again.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_03]: You're probably not going to last long.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_03]: Make the program better.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_03]: You adjust to you add value, then that's how you get to the next level.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_03]: Defensive lineman, right, they often do the hardest work without the spotlight.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think the trenches get enough respect in the amount of highlight culture of football?
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, nah, man, because, you know, everybody loves to see the receiver, the EDs, the quarterbacks.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's what they like to see, but the game is literally play in the trenches, right, facts.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: If you tell the trenches out the game, it's not even going to be no fun.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's the fact.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, who doesn't want to see somebody getting ran over and jump over, run it back, and tackle the quarterback, right?
- 33:28[SPEAKER_02]: Bro, that's like literally the best thing you've ever been like, for me, like, see it, what we call like, it's play a crash now.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like he pranks down and he run through a tight end that's plunging, like, I'm talking full ball term now.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: He knocked him out and everybody got in the way to go.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: And he can't smack or line back and fill in the gap right now.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: And not going to shit out of running a bad lane.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's that's football.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we're for sure.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like sure.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: We all teach our American shit.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_03]: We do that there in the old season We put them past on this time to go There's a procession that athletes should stay in their lane and not influence communities or business You know, why do you think that that mindset is all dated?
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this is because I'm going to be able to do what he wanted to do, man, like especially time we in now, like you can't control anybody, bro, you know what I'm saying?
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's when you, I think you start losing people and start creating conflict of confrontation with you, trying to control somebody.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: So, I'd say, man, I feel like you want to do it, do it, but, you know, Lose is not the territory towards nobody or a great anybody, like, you know, or shaming anybody, like, it should be fine, yeah, that's the way I see it about it regardless of what people say, you know, everybody got a voice, sure, for a young athlete who's watching this right now, and they have dreams of winning with a Super Bowl NBA champion, whatever, what are the three habits they need to build
- 34:55[SPEAKER_03]: a work habit.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like a great work habit.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um Being able to be coachable and interchangeable with how you interact with people.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: You got to be coachable.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's that goes Anyway, that's own fear of the field in life and Discipline Discipline accountability.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: I come and if I can put those together, which is why I put that those three things I feel like
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: can definitely help build you into any type of personal or professional and what professional you in because you've got to work have you I was going to work hard.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: If you could be coachable you could build the inner change with other people then you could always interact with any type of room.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: Then if you've got accountability and discipline then like you know you not want to be like you want to be on time you want to get some done then if you know you got to get some done or do something.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, something else is not going to be done because you'll be doing something else not to do.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, well, what would you say the biggest mistake?
- 35:54[SPEAKER_03]: Tounds and players make when they like they first get into that.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh
- 36:00[SPEAKER_02]: Trying to live above the means, you know, try to do, you know, either what somebody said they got or older guy got something doing this or trying to live like what they see or hear.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what I say.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know, if Harry was before you got it, just say that, it's that same way.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: Right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'll let nobody influence your mind to do something crazy.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_03]: When you, you know, again, you receive what most, you know, athletes want to achieve, you know, you know, a Super Bowl championship in a long NFL career.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_03]: When it's all said and done, what, you know, what legacy do you want to leave beyond football?
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: For me, you know, I just want, I think for me now is the community one of the people that would be like, man, your dad was this, your dad was, it's why I see, I think, like, leaving the mark like that on people, leaving the impression like that, that's always good and somebody can say they knew me, I was a great person, great guy, or, you know, your dad, that is, or your son is this, or it's why Z, I think, means more to me now than, like,
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: The accolades that come there, they're great, but I think leaving their pressure like that sticks just as the same as, you know, like any people with accolades can be because those guys, maybe I go jacking and stuff, but don't what the people will say about it.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: What should a community will say about it?
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because we got some people that's from our community, you know, that people will say the other thing is about that's not in a good way, right?
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: But the media, the media ain't gonna be able to say that.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's for one light, I am goals where you feel
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: I ain't never changed who I was for anybody like I stuck to who I am, you know, in the means of doing what I did, you know, I think that's part of the best things that I can leave people with.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, show it with, have you started looking at like, all right, when I'm, when I'm done playing football, you know, what, what's, you know, what's the next thing?
- 37:59[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what's, what's going to make, you know, Jara, like a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, you know, you know, you know, you know, that's something I, I, I think about all the time, you know, and I tell you, but I don't know.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like I can go back on what I'm already doing, but,
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I do want to get in the culture, but you know, I just want to travel first, you know, right now I can say you just see it.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: They steal a pain.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still playing.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's definitely next next.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's like that's give me to some of the way I could be like, okay, yeah Which is going to have to come so you're late.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna find it, but you know right now Just I'm just you know banking on what I got going and in the midst of me searching for that next or dear
- 38:44[SPEAKER_03]: This is a question I just came to me though, I don't think it would have affected but how do you think like AI is like taking over everything right mean and like you know visually you could kind of create anything with AI and I wonder is there.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_03]: Is there a threat to football right those two live sports with AI like it's like I could if I want to see a certain visual if you will I could kind of create that we have a thought I'm really what you know I can see that happening like a game mode like it
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: As far as it's playing nigh, like the most that we and got was like the virtual or down in distance or the or the way they can think it's about the ball.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: But other than that, it's not, I don't think it's gonna be fun if you try to do that with actual real-life football now in the game.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_02]: You could do it there, you won't do that.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's the way I look at it.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm really not to that, it's crazy because like people can create like whole pages and stuff now, just like any eye people, which is, it's wild.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_03]: Because I wonder if, like, we're maybe thinking about that, like you're like, you say, you know, people love to see the sacks, like, if you could create that with AI and people get so indated with, I actually, I think it'll help for both of that, and then I think of it because now, if you're constantly watching things on the screen, and if you don't know if it's really fake, now you're going to want to go to the lobby that, and I want to actually see real, you know, real people do it, you know what I mean?
- 40:16[SPEAKER_03]: And so have you, have you thought about, you know, you should have real estate, and then you said buy and land, have you have you ever thought about like starting businesses?
- 40:25[SPEAKER_03]: We should thought about like, yeah, all the businesses.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: When it comes to me and starting businesses, I was wondering, make sure it could be something that for one.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not like,
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: fully I got it like a team with me I'm not fully accountable for for myself yeah and I you know different type of things I have entered to some like business before yeah but it's nothing that like that I'm banking on to be my big band from my love just like if I'm going to get in some like the way I come kind of process and it first is like I don't start with like some of this already franchise like buying to a franchise and then like
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: about like us coming together with what we got and then starting our own advancement group.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody you know, if you're the one we got to come together because that's what everybody else does.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you look at investment rules isn't all these people know each other.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so you know you start it there.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: So now you you are solving the investor or whatever who's the who you know.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 41:22[SPEAKER_02]: Um, last, I'm still working at working those kinks out right now.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_03]: And that's more, though, actually, like, like, I love that you said that because a lot of times people think because they have money, they have to stray away from, um, like, they have to adventure.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_03]: Like they had to venture out, right?
- 41:40[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I know, you know, my background was a banker for like 15 years.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_03]: So I know, I truly, the only two ways I believe you can make money or real wealth.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_03]: is real estate and investing right and even when you're investing you're investing in a business that already exists so you're not really starting to own business right and so I like what you just said about even franchising is like the data is there so you so have the money you don't even have to risk
- 42:08[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying so you so imagine and this is a lesson for everybody like as you're making money You don't even have to risk like you know what?
- 42:15[SPEAKER_03]: Let me try to figure out how to throw this money.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_03]: It's already it's already it's already it's already right like like let me In this intangible items right like real estate that that if you get an income producing asset It'll pay you cash flow and the value is gonna go up
- 42:32[SPEAKER_03]: If you do a franchise, same kind of deal, right?
- 42:36[SPEAKER_03]: You do a investment group, do a franchise.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_03]: You could tell the trajectory of the franchise how long it's been there, what the cash flow is, if it's growing.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_03]: So I like that advice because I feel like, again, especially in our community, you know what I'm saying?
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: Because we haven't had money, you know what I'm saying?
- 42:55[SPEAKER_03]: So once we get it, we feel like, all right, we've been giving all our lives just to give them.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_03]: You got to do that in the most.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_03]: That's the fact.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_03]: That's the fact.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_03]: What would you say is the biggest money mistake you've made so far?
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: The biggest money mistake?
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, behind these, behind the big old pennant, behind the big change.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: Because for one, it, you know, the number calls problem.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: One thousand, yeah.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't, like, not everybody got on, you know what I'm saying?
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: Between that and before I started saying, no, most of the time, I was leading the people in the,
- 43:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's because for one of how I said it early.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: If they ask and you give it, it's gonna get back.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: You're not getting the bad.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: Then it's just just pulling this.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even wear it, I don't know.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: I had a face where it was cooked, but I'm putting more to clean it a little now.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_02]: And that's just my own person, Penn.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: I still got it's hard.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't worth it.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_02]: I could have did like, now I could have done some else that month.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_03]: No, I appreciate it.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate it.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate it.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_03]: Is there anything you want to leave without audience?
- 44:00[SPEAKER_03]: Any advice?
- 44:01[SPEAKER_03]: Any question I didn't ask?
- 44:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like, anything you want to leave with audience?
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: Man, you know, so can't show you what's in love, you know, it's not on playing, but uh, just I don't know, I think I said everything, you know, proud living out there who I am, you know, that's barely it, you know, if you got any more that, if you, if you could go back to to, to, to young young J.R.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_03]: I, you go to, I don't know, 15 year old or 80, like, what, what advice
- 44:34[SPEAKER_02]: 15, I think I got it, the way it happened, I think it happened perfectly.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: I wanna change that on, but I get to like, 18 is just, like you said, I wish I would have had like, better diet and a better work habit, which I grew into having a little bit like.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: Health is with you know saying like you know like big health.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't give him a kind of just eight shakeshack today It was good, but I'm the same like you know whatever you put in your body just as far as like all the stuff They're doing with food and drinks now.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: I try to get my mom about that.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: I try to be as clean as possible But I eat really clean spirits during the season so after season.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: I just gotta go vegan right now No help now.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: I ain't doing on that vegan now.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: We do not all that but
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that's part of two things and just being more of a leader just for myself.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: Peter, you know, I wasn't a follower, but like just taking time to really locking in and crafting what I wanted to do, there was just like doing some of this stuff.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like when you young, live life, hey, relive it, there's nothing wrong.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: Lones you can make changes and long as you can adapt for the positive, better, that's the positive way that's.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's good.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's, that's still good to me.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_03]: All right, y'all.
