- 0:00Speaker 1: Media moments that matter. Pretty excited. Time for everyone's favorite segment.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I mean everyone.
- 0:05Speaker 3: I took a survey.
- 0:06Speaker 1: This week I gave my VCR, my TV guide, not
- 0:08Speaker 1: my Hope subscription, just this week's. All my cords and
- 0:11Speaker 1: my tape stock too. New York Post columnist Lydia Moynihan. Lydia,
- 0:15Speaker 1: you've got to return it, but I knew you did
- 0:17Speaker 1: a lot of taping.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And you came up with three substantial segments.
- 0:21Speaker 4: There are some of your favorites in here this week,
- 0:23Speaker 4: including Kamala Harris. Oh, really? We haven't heard from her
- 0:26Speaker 4: in a while. So we'll get to that, but we're
- 0:28Speaker 4: going to start... with the ladies of The View. So
- 0:32Speaker 4: Patrick Clancy did his first interview this week and revealed
- 0:35Speaker 4: some pretty astonishing facts, including the fact that his wife, Lindsay,
- 0:39Speaker 4: never apologized for killing their three children. Sarah Haynes, who's
- 0:44Speaker 4: supposed to be the moderate co-host there on The View,
- 0:46Speaker 4: had this to say about the Patrick and Lindsay Clancy marriage.
- 0:52Speaker 2: What bothers me is he talks about forgiving her, which
- 0:55Speaker 2: I love, But he focuses on that and never jumps
- 0:58Speaker 2: to what so many people struggle with. How did the
- 1:00Speaker 2: marital love end so quickly? When you admit openly your
- 1:04Speaker 2: wife got sick, she got sick. It doesn't mean you
- 1:07Speaker 2: can be with them and it doesn't mean it doesn't
- 1:08Speaker 2: remind you of the worst day of your life. But
- 1:11Speaker 2: I would hope, like in sickness and in health, I
- 1:13Speaker 2: would hope that my husband wouldn't sit there and just
- 1:16Speaker 2: move right along.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I will say, everyone's got their different thresholds, but strangling
- 1:25Speaker 1: your three children might be the breaking point that goes
- 1:28Speaker 1: beyond any good marriage therapist.
- 1:31Speaker 3: How judgmental of her.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I can't believe he would leave his wife and strangle
- 1:35Speaker 1: their children.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Maybe the worst take I've heard on the Clancy trial,
- 1:39Speaker 4: and I had to look up. I thought, okay, well,
- 1:40Speaker 4: what else... have the ladies of The View said about divorce.
- 1:43Speaker 4: And they actually did a segment earlier this year celebrating
- 1:46Speaker 4: the fact that a growing number of women were leaving
- 1:50Speaker 4: their husbands because they weren't satisfied and feeling fulfilled and
- 1:54Speaker 4: how empowering it was for them to file for divorce.
- 1:58Speaker 4: But evidently if you're a man and you leave your
- 2:00Speaker 4: wife because she murdered your children, That's a bridge too far.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And by the way, I was totally disappointed in the
- 2:05Speaker 1: 60 Minutes interview. I didn't think they did a good
- 2:08Speaker 1: job at all with Clancy. But that's a child that's
- 2:11Speaker 1: going to live on. Of course, we're going to find
- 2:12Speaker 1: out the future of it. But you didn't stop there.
- 2:15Speaker 1: So many anchors are no longer with their networks and
- 2:18Speaker 1: now speaking out publicly.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yeah. So Terry Moran this week chimed in about his
- 2:24Speaker 4: attempted report on Biden's declining health. He'd gone on a
- 2:28Speaker 4: trip with him. And here's what the ABC News executive
- 2:31Speaker 4: said when he pitched that story about the Biden cognitive decline.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I tried to do the story of Biden's health before
- 2:39Speaker 3: anybody else did in network because I'd seen it. And
- 2:44Speaker 3: I got shut down very hard. I wrote an email
- 2:48Speaker 3: to everybody as as gently and as respectfully as I could.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I think I still have it. And it was like,
- 2:54Speaker 3: you know, this is legit, legit issue for Americans to
- 2:57Speaker 3: be interested in. I'm not a doctor. I'm not diagnosing.
- 2:59Speaker 3: But we all know what we know when we see
- 3:02Speaker 3: people fading. This is a legitimate concern for the voters
- 3:05Speaker 3: of America. And I said, this is the medical unit's business.
- 3:10Speaker 3: It's not yours, basically. And that was that. Now he's
- 3:15Speaker 3: saying it, right?
- 3:16Speaker 1: What we all saw and they said it was bias,
- 3:19Speaker 1: now it's for the medical doctors. You know how many
- 3:21Speaker 1: people have said things about Donald Trump? They don't like
- 3:24Speaker 1: the way he walks, or they say that his legs
- 3:26Speaker 1: are swollen, or he falls asleep. They're quick to make
- 3:31Speaker 1: a medical diagnosis there. Right. How do you feel about
- 3:33Speaker 1: him coming out now?
- 3:34Speaker 4: The people who complain about the fact they can't keep
- 3:37Speaker 4: up with Donald Trump also say that he's old and tired. Look,
- 3:42Speaker 4: I think it's good that we're learning this, right? I
- 3:45Speaker 4: think sunlight's the best disinfectant. But why are we only
- 3:47Speaker 4: hearing this now? And why isn't he naming names? Because
- 3:50Speaker 4: presumably the kind of executive to censor this story. is
- 3:54Speaker 4: also going to censor a lot of other stories. So
- 3:56Speaker 4: we'd like to know, who are they? Are they continuing
- 3:58Speaker 4: to squelch important stories that we as a public need
- 4:00Speaker 4: to hear?
- 4:00Speaker 1: And remember, he got fired. So what's he holding back for?
- 4:03Speaker 1: What's more to lose? Speaking of somebody that didn't get
- 4:06Speaker 1: hired as president but might be trying to do it again,
- 4:10Speaker 1: Kamala Harris is at it. Has she gotten better at elocution?
- 4:15Speaker 4: I think you'll be the judge. She had quite a
- 4:17Speaker 4: few moments this week on her little tour there trying
- 4:19Speaker 4: to push El-Sayed's candidacy in Michigan.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Let's listen.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Shirley Chisholm talked about it. If you're not at the table,
- 4:29Speaker 1: bring a folding chair, otherwise you might.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Be on the menu.
- 4:32Speaker 4: They're cheating with all this redistricting that they are doing.
- 4:36Speaker 4: They are cheating by purging voter rolls. An attack on
- 4:40Speaker 4: DEI to recognize diversity, equity, and inclusion is an attack
- 4:48Speaker 4: by definition on maternal care.
- 4:52Speaker 1: What? I don't even know what it means. But you see,
- 4:55Speaker 1: even El Saeed goes, did I make a mistake asking
- 4:57Speaker 1: her to come with me?
- 4:58Speaker 4: Well, the good news is we're not alone. So one
- 5:00Speaker 4: amazing thing about Kamala Harris is the more that people
- 5:02Speaker 4: see of her, the less they like her. If you remember,
- 5:05Speaker 4: she had a little bit of momentum when she came
- 5:08Speaker 4: on the scene running for president back in 2019. I
- 5:09Speaker 4: do remember that. 15-ish percent, and then that dip she
- 5:12Speaker 4: had to drop out.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Lydia Moynihan, great to see you.
