- 0:01Speaker 1: What everybody on this line Tuesday afternoon. Welcome to Foul Territory.

- 0:09Speaker 1: these two, of course, Aja Pierzinski, Eric Kratz always on
- 0:13Speaker 1: the show. Scott Broun is off someplace. I believe he's
- 0:15Speaker 1: in Portugal. I don't know where he is, but he's
- 0:17Speaker 1: having a good time. I'm sure he's still watching. Subscribe
- 0:21Speaker 1: tweet us at ashtag FT live by merch do it
- 0:25Speaker 1: All foul Territory shop dot com. How you boys feeling today? AJ?
- 0:28Speaker 1: What's up? What are you looking at?
- 0:30Speaker 2: I'm trying to make my bet. Actually, I'm trying to
- 0:32Speaker 2: place my bet, so that's kind of what I'm looking at.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I had a long morning, but trying to find my
- 0:37Speaker 2: luck of the day, Alna, So I can get back
- 0:39Speaker 2: in the positives.
- 0:40Speaker 1: All right, Yes, get back in the positive. We're going
- 0:42Speaker 1: to talk about that momentarily.
- 0:43Speaker 2: E K.
- 0:43Speaker 1: How are you doing today? Man?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Freaking awesome? Had a little meeting, a little exercise, a
- 0:49Speaker 2: little mow in the yard. What it's about?
- 0:53Speaker 1: All right? So you got some exercise in, got the
- 0:55Speaker 1: blood flowing, you got one of your chores scratched, off
- 0:58Speaker 1: the list. AJ has chores. I don't know, we'll see.
- 1:02Speaker 1: How about we get into the Phillies. Let's charge the
- 1:04Speaker 1: Mound boys, Let's charge it about congratulations to Rob Thompson
- 1:11Speaker 1: and the Philadelphia Phillies Alden Gonzalez with this tweet, of course,
- 1:14Speaker 1: he works for ESPN. The Phillies clinched their third straight
- 1:17Speaker 1: ninety win season and with that their second straight n
- 1:20Speaker 1: Least title. They are back to that champs. It's the
- 1:23Speaker 1: earliest they've wrapped up of a division ever. David Robertson
- 1:26Speaker 1: sealed it by escaping a bases loaded one out jam
- 1:29Speaker 1: in the tenth the T shirts are being brought out.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It was the T shirts, it was the beer, it
- 1:34Speaker 1: was the champagne, it was the festivities. Guys, how about
- 1:38Speaker 1: this congratulations to the fight and Phil's AJ. What's your take?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Uh? This was inevitable this year. They just they seem
- 1:46Speaker 2: like the best team from day one. They're pitching their
- 1:49Speaker 2: lineup everything. I mean the fact that it I mean
- 1:51Speaker 2: it didn't take that long, but with two weeks to go,
- 1:54Speaker 2: they've clinched and it gets your Dodgers, Alana. They got
- 1:56Speaker 2: to celebrate in Dodgers Stadium. What a feeling it was
- 1:59Speaker 2: for the Phillies might get to play them again here,
- 2:01Speaker 2: not too in the distant future, so they better enjoy this.
- 2:04Speaker 2: They're gonna be They have two more games in this series.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Today will be interesting. But I think the Phillies were
- 2:09Speaker 2: the easy choice to win the nlast this year, especially
- 2:12Speaker 2: once all the Braves injuries happened the Mets fell apart.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So congratulations Rob Thompson and all the Philadelphia Phillies. Now
- 2:19Speaker 2: can you win the World Series? Because it's all World
- 2:21Speaker 2: Series or bust for.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The Phillies, no doubt. Kay, what do you think about
- 2:24Speaker 1: this Phillies team? What do you like about them? What
- 2:26Speaker 1: do you think that they have as their biggest challenge?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Their biggest challenge is can they get the monkey off
- 2:33Speaker 2: their back of does anybody show up in the playoffs?
- 2:37Speaker 2: I mean last year Strom and Hoffman got waffled and
- 2:41Speaker 2: they were lights out in the regular season. Their lineup
- 2:45Speaker 2: went to sleep besides Costianos and Harper. This year they
- 2:50Speaker 2: made a concerted effort to not strike out as much.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Their strikeouts are down, as it always happens, their home
- 2:58Speaker 2: runs are down. Obviously, we know it's a historic season
- 3:01Speaker 2: from Schwarber but their home runs are down. It's gonna
- 3:04Speaker 2: be it's gonna be the very tired, easy narrative. They
- 3:09Speaker 2: go on and they win the World Series, it's because
- 3:13Speaker 2: they cut down their cut down their strikeouts and they
- 3:15Speaker 2: still hit home runs. If they don't win the World Series,
- 3:19Speaker 2: to me, it's gonna be the injury of Wheeler, ineffectiveness
- 3:23Speaker 2: of NOLA, and they didn't hit enough home runs.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Aj they lost the World Series in twenty twenty two,
- 3:31Speaker 1: you said it's World Series or bust. They lost in
- 3:34Speaker 1: the NLCS in twenty three, they lost in the NLDS
- 3:38Speaker 1: in twenty four. Do the Philadelphia Phillies make it to
- 3:42Speaker 1: the World Series in twenty and twenty five?
- 3:48Speaker 2: I'm gonna say no. Although I love this team and
- 3:51Speaker 2: I love I love where they're at, I just I
- 3:53Speaker 2: think the National League is so tough. I still think
- 3:55Speaker 2: it's the Dodgers are still number one of my power rankings.
- 3:59Speaker 2: As much as we love those, I think if Wheeler
- 4:02Speaker 2: was there, I think I would maybe change my mind.
- 4:04Speaker 2: But I still think the Dodgers are the team to
- 4:06Speaker 2: be and until someone dethrones them, I have to go
- 4:08Speaker 2: and no, Okay.
- 4:11Speaker 1: That's I don't know. This is a good, good, good team.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And by the way, they're good.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I'm not saying they're not good on that.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Loop that whole thing, the gift, I don't know, gift
- 4:22Speaker 1: mean whatever the heck that is. Just watching that over
- 4:24Speaker 1: and over and over again. I love this Phillies team.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I really do. Let me ask you this, though. The
- 4:29Speaker 1: homer that Duran allowed was this first since July twenty second,
- 4:32Speaker 1: when he was pitching at Dodger Stadium. How much of
- 4:35Speaker 1: an impact do you think has Johann Duran had to
- 4:39Speaker 1: this Philadelphia Phillies team.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Massive. It's a massive I mean, look at the other
- 4:45Speaker 2: teams that are in the playoffs and you look at
- 4:47Speaker 2: their holes, like just going just going to the Mets
- 4:52Speaker 2: because they're you know, they're trying to get in. They
- 4:54Speaker 2: have bullpen issues. Phillies have kind of solidified that they
- 4:58Speaker 2: kind of had a good and they added an elite
- 5:03Speaker 2: closer who's been elite, and I get it. He gave
- 5:05Speaker 2: up the home run. It's kind of a little concerning
- 5:07Speaker 2: that he gave up two home runs in Dodger Stadium.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Maybe they need to change the frequency on their little
- 5:14Speaker 2: on a little PitchCom thing, or just not throw a
- 5:16Speaker 2: backup hanging knuckle curveball to Andy Payes, who hammers off
- 5:22Speaker 2: speed pitches that are strike off feed pitches. But did
- 5:26Speaker 2: you just accuse the Dodgers of stealing Pitchcomb signals?
- 5:29Speaker 1: No, No, he did not.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I mean change. I don't get it. Change the frequency
- 5:34Speaker 2: of what I don't I mean, what does that mean? Douran, Douran,
- 5:37Speaker 2: It's got to be something, right. You can only give
- 5:39Speaker 2: up two home runs a year, so somebody has to
- 5:42Speaker 2: know something. Sarcasm, So the other thing that you have
- 5:50Speaker 2: to make sure. Now I forget even where I was, Oh,
- 5:53Speaker 2: why Doron is so important to this team? They didn't
- 5:58Speaker 2: have a closer? Could Strom have closed the game out? Sure?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Could Kirk Ringer close the game out? Sure? Is Alvarado
- 6:07Speaker 2: a better choice if he hadn't gotten popped for steroids?
- 6:11Speaker 2: I don't think so. So I think it was a
- 6:13Speaker 2: blessing in disguise, and they got that. They got the
- 6:16Speaker 2: guy that they wanted to trade for to trade deadline.
- 6:19Speaker 2: From what we hear, they took him out from underneath
- 6:22Speaker 2: the Mariners grasp who they already had a closer. So
- 6:27Speaker 2: I think it it His value to this team was
- 6:32Speaker 2: obviously because he's done well, he's blown once. Well, he's
- 6:35Speaker 2: blown two saves now, but he is he's that lockdown
- 6:39Speaker 2: closer at the end of the season. At the end
- 6:42Speaker 2: of the season, he solidified himself with this team because
- 6:46Speaker 2: coming in he uped his strikeout percentage before the season started.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I mean not before the season, during the season from
- 6:53Speaker 2: last year. So you wonder before okay, he just puts
- 6:56Speaker 2: you know what happens if he gets in the playoffs
- 6:58Speaker 2: and he's just got to put balls in play punch outs.
- 7:01Speaker 2: He's shown he can get the punch out. So I
- 7:02Speaker 2: think it's a huge, huge, huge bonus for the Phillies
- 7:07Speaker 2: that they picked him up in a trade deadline crats.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I'm gonna steal a line right from the top here
- 7:11Speaker 3: about Meyundi's a cut for every butt. I took a
- 7:16Speaker 3: line that I feel like you would enjoy. But then
- 7:18Speaker 3: you stole my thunder with show and tell.
- 7:20Speaker 1: What do you have there.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Besides a huge Baduka dunk. This is my pair of
- 7:27Speaker 2: miundies that I got. I'm not going to show you
- 7:29Speaker 2: the other pair right now because I got them on,
- 7:31Speaker 2: but it doesn't even feel like you have them on.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Super soft, flexible and yet holding everything together.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I love the twenty different styles, one hundred different colors
- 7:42Speaker 3: and prints, and the micro modal fabric is what you're
- 7:46Speaker 3: talking about. Breathable, stretchy, unbelievably cozy and right now, as
- 7:51Speaker 3: a listener of FT, you can get cozy and spooky
- 7:54Speaker 3: for less with deals up to fifty percent off at
- 7:56Speaker 3: meundies dot com slash foul and enter promo code foul.
- 8:00Speaker 3: That's me undies dot com slash foul, promo code foul
- 8:03Speaker 3: for up to fifty percent off me Undie's comfort. That's
- 8:07Speaker 3: made for fall.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, though, when you come out to that
- 8:10Speaker 1: pomp and circumstance and all the lights go off and
- 8:13Speaker 1: everything's going on, you got Tarantula's walking all over you, you
- 8:15Speaker 1: better never give up a hit let alone any sort
- 8:18Speaker 1: of earned run. I mean, that is so bananas in
- 8:20Speaker 1: terms of what Johann Duran comes out to. You better
- 8:23Speaker 1: be able to lock this down. But when you're talking
- 8:25Speaker 1: about value, AJ, I want to talk for hot second
- 8:29Speaker 1: about matt Strom. Eric said, maybe matt Strom could have
- 8:31Speaker 1: easily just closed it out. But let's think about this
- 8:33Speaker 1: for a hot second. When I think of the Philadelphia Phillies,
- 8:36Speaker 1: and maybe I should think of Matt Strom, but when
- 8:39Speaker 1: I think about the Phillies, he's not the first name
- 8:42Speaker 1: that pops into my head. Right But with those three outs,
- 8:45Speaker 1: his twenty and twenty six option has vested at seven
- 8:48Speaker 1: and a half million, pending a physical exam following this season.
- 8:52Speaker 1: How key has he been to what the Phillies have
- 8:55Speaker 1: been able to accomplish. I want him to wash his
- 8:58Speaker 1: hair and I want him to stop looking so much
- 9:01Speaker 1: like Nicholas Cage. But he's been big for this club?
- 9:05Speaker 1: How big in your opinion?
- 9:06Speaker 2: Him and Tanner Banks for the lefties have been outstanding.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You don't forget about Tanner Banks as the mass term
- 9:11Speaker 2: has been an all star and you're struggling in the postseason.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But Rob Thompson has trusted Tanner Banks a lot. So
- 9:17Speaker 2: now they have two lefties with that, I mean, forget Alvarado,
- 9:20Speaker 2: he doesn't even count because he doesn't even matter. But
- 9:22Speaker 2: Strom and Tanner Banks have been outstanding, so they mean
- 9:26Speaker 2: a lot to this team. Anytime a team has not one,
- 9:29Speaker 2: but two lefties that can come in and give them
- 9:31Speaker 2: innings and get three outs, get lefties in righties out,
- 9:34Speaker 2: you can't put a value on that.
- 9:36Speaker 1: By the way, the Phillies landed at two am before
- 9:38Speaker 1: their game due to technical issues with they're playing, and
- 9:40Speaker 1: then that game started at seven to ten Pacific. Obviously
- 9:44Speaker 1: in Los Angeles. Should we give them more credit, more love?
- 9:48Speaker 1: I mean, just in general, just baseball folks in general,
- 9:52Speaker 1: for the ridiculous schedule that we have to do day
- 9:56Speaker 1: in and day out. The grind that is a one
- 9:58Speaker 1: to sixty two Eric. Nobody.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Nobody wants to hear baseball Nobody wants to hear baseball
- 10:04Speaker 2: players complain about riding on a private jet. But that's
- 10:09Speaker 2: the type of it is really the type of thing
- 10:10Speaker 2: that can drain a team, can cause the Mariners all
- 10:16Speaker 2: these collapse, historic collapses throughout history in the last whatever
- 10:20Speaker 2: twenty years that they've collapsed in September. It is a
- 10:25Speaker 2: very It's a tough travel schedule for some teams. This
- 10:28Speaker 2: one's a grind. We'll see how it affects the Phillies
- 10:31Speaker 2: throughout this road trip, because that was the first day
- 10:34Speaker 2: of their road trip.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Do you think the Phillies, now that they've clinched the
- 10:39Speaker 1: NL East, knowing that the Dodgers are still trying to
- 10:41Speaker 1: win the division, knowing that the seating is still happening
- 10:44Speaker 1: in terms of jockeying for position. When it comes to that,
- 10:47Speaker 1: do you have a full lineup out their aj today
- 10:50Speaker 1: or does Rob Thompson give his starters a rest?
- 10:53Speaker 2: I think he gives them a rest. I think you
- 10:55Speaker 2: have to after the the long plane flight and then
- 10:59Speaker 2: the I guarantee you they did some sort of a
- 11:01Speaker 2: celebration last night, whatever that celebration entailed. But yeah, you
- 11:05Speaker 2: give some of them the rest. But it's changed now though,
- 11:07Speaker 2: because you used to have forty guys. Now you only
- 11:09Speaker 2: have twenty eight guys. So it's not like you can
- 11:10Speaker 2: give the whole team arrest, but definitely probably throw the
- 11:13Speaker 2: backup catcher in there. You probably give a couple guys
- 11:16Speaker 2: a day off here and there and let some of
- 11:17Speaker 2: your starters just take a day to chill, relax and
- 11:19Speaker 2: be ready for tomorrow.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, congratulations Rob Thompson. Congratulations to the Philadelphia Phillies.
- 11:26Speaker 1: This team is unbelievable, back to back NL East title winners.
- 11:31Speaker 1: We appreciate it very much being able to watch this club.
- 11:34Speaker 1: We'll see how far they can go.
- 11:35Speaker 2: All right.
- 11:36Speaker 1: To get more on the Phills, check out the Philly
- 11:38Speaker 1: Show on YouTube and wherever you get your pods. How
- 11:40Speaker 1: about this from Chandler Rome, who of course is on
- 11:44Speaker 1: the Astros podcast that we do here on the Foul
- 11:46Speaker 1: Territory network.
- 11:47Speaker 2: You're on.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Alvarez just exited the Astros clubhouse on crutches and with
- 11:51Speaker 1: his left foot in a boot. Well, that's not good,
- 11:54Speaker 1: the team spokesman said. Alvarez did not want to speak
- 11:57Speaker 1: to the media until he knows more about out his condition.
- 12:00Speaker 1: You can certainly learn more on Crush City Territory. This
- 12:03Speaker 1: is bad news. You guys, You're done. Oliver is just
- 12:05Speaker 1: coming off the AISL not that long ago. A huge
- 12:08Speaker 1: bat in that lineup, of course, is the dh AJ.
- 12:11Speaker 1: How does this affect the Stros moving forward.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Well, it's a big It's a big blow depending on
- 12:17Speaker 2: how long he's out. If they get into the postseason.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Losing their their top option at dh left field wherever
- 12:22Speaker 2: they want to put him is a huge blow. He's
- 12:23Speaker 2: one of the best bats in the American League's basically
- 12:26Speaker 2: had a wasted gear because he's missed most of it
- 12:27Speaker 2: and something new for Astros to not talk injuries, because
- 12:31Speaker 2: you know, he had that hand thing and and nobody
- 12:33Speaker 2: could get figure out why he was out for so long.
- 12:35Speaker 2: So it's a bad it's a bad thing for the
- 12:37Speaker 2: Astros and they're missing a bad man if he's out
- 12:40Speaker 2: for a while. Hey, did you did you wear moldeds?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Did you wear moldens or metals? I always wear moldeds.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Did you ever slip like that? Because I never wear
- 12:48Speaker 2: mold I wore moldens one time in a spring training
- 12:51Speaker 2: game and I got the second base on a double
- 12:53Speaker 2: and I stepped on second and it's and my foot
- 12:56Speaker 2: slid just like his foot slid on home plate like that.
- 13:00Speaker 2: No I was. I was light on my feet, So
- 13:02Speaker 2: no I didn't. You're athletic.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Wait tell me what you guys are talking about. What
- 13:06Speaker 1: do you ask? And if he were, what explained.
- 13:08Speaker 2: To the lastic or metal spikes? Plastic or metal spikes?
- 13:11Speaker 2: Molded or plastic?
- 13:12Speaker 1: Don't look now, gentlemen. But the Arizona Diamondbacks before we
- 13:16Speaker 1: were waving the white flag on the d Backs, they're
- 13:19Speaker 1: just one and a half games behind the Mets for
- 13:21Speaker 1: that third and final wild card spot. Bob Nightingale, they
- 13:24Speaker 1: win eight to one, and despite waving that white flag
- 13:26Speaker 1: at the trade deadline, as I just mentioned, one and
- 13:28Speaker 1: a half games behind the Mets, the Arizona Diamondbacks blow
- 13:32Speaker 1: the game open. How about this, though, I mean, it's
- 13:35Speaker 1: so you're saying there's a chance. I know, Ken just
- 13:37Speaker 1: said the Mets get in. I'm hoping it's the Diamondbacks.
- 13:41Speaker 1: But what say you, Eric Kratz?
- 13:46Speaker 2: I agree? I mean, I think it's going to be
- 13:48Speaker 2: the Mets for the same reasons that that Ken said. Yes,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I get it, the Diamondbacks one, Zach Allen did what
- 13:56Speaker 2: he's supposed to do as what was supposed to be
- 14:00Speaker 2: their best pitcher this year, or one of their best
- 14:02Speaker 2: behind Corbyn Burns. They just they don't have They don't
- 14:05Speaker 2: have enough, in my opinion, to make up the ground.
- 14:09Speaker 2: It's always way harder to make up the ground. I
- 14:12Speaker 2: get it, the Mets faltered and so they gave up
- 14:16Speaker 2: a lot of ground. But it's so hard to just
- 14:18Speaker 2: play that much better than a team. And they got
- 14:20Speaker 2: to play two games better than the Mets the rest
- 14:22Speaker 2: of the way, and I don't think they have the
- 14:24Speaker 2: pitching or kept enough of their offense, even though they
- 14:27Speaker 2: are scoring without Nailor and Aohenio.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Oh.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Sure, as a tiebreaker, the Mets do with the Diamondbacks,
- 14:37Speaker 2: the Mets do. It's over or it is. It's three games,
- 14:40Speaker 2: it's a three game lead with what eleven to play.
- 14:43Speaker 2: They're not The Mets aren't gonna blow that man.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Guys, every single major league baseball debut, as the two
- 14:56Speaker 1: of you know better than anybody else, is always incredibly special.
- 14:59Speaker 1: But when you can have have a debut like Terrey A.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Savage did when he had nine k's in his debut
- 15:05Speaker 1: against the Tampa Bay Rays, that's a franchise record for
- 15:09Speaker 1: a big league debut. That's pretty special for this young
- 15:12Speaker 1: man Toronto now five games up in the division. I'm
- 15:15Speaker 1: not certain if you guys actually saw his debut watching
- 15:18Speaker 1: the game last night, but I mean, that's that's pretty special.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Nine punchies, I'd take it. What's your thoughts?
- 15:25Speaker 2: It was great his angle he throws with his ridiculous
- 15:27Speaker 2: like it looks like the ball is going straight down
- 15:30Speaker 2: and the split I don't know if it's a split.
- 15:32Speaker 2: And then he throws that breaking ball where these guys
- 15:34Speaker 2: are just swinging over the top. I mean the way
- 15:36Speaker 2: he throws and with the angle and the way he
- 15:38Speaker 2: creates that angle is pretty awesome. Yeah, this guy's gonna
- 15:43Speaker 2: I don't know if he's gonna be on the roster.
- 15:44Speaker 2: In the post, listen to Jayside the Als wrapped up. Okay,
- 15:47Speaker 2: they're five games up with eleven to play. They've got it,
- 15:50Speaker 2: so congratulations to them. But I don't know if he's
- 15:53Speaker 2: gonna make Maybe he could be a weapon for him
- 15:55Speaker 2: in the bullpen because their starters are pretty good Gossman, Bassett,
- 15:58Speaker 2: Biebers or Barrios. You Savage, Wow, I don't know if
- 16:04Speaker 2: he could be in one of those multi inning guys
- 16:08Speaker 2: that we all hear about. But I think I think
- 16:11Speaker 2: this guy can be a weapon for him somehow, Someway.
- 16:13Speaker 2: What about a closer? I know they have Hoffman, but
- 16:15Speaker 2: I mean, what about someone that can help Hoffman in
- 16:17Speaker 2: certain situations that would look be good, that plays a
- 16:20Speaker 2: hundred with angle and the split and a slider and
- 16:21Speaker 2: a curve ball it plays. I can't believe he took
- 16:27Speaker 2: that from me. I was gonna say, what if he
- 16:29Speaker 2: closes out big games? What if he because of the
- 16:32Speaker 2: fact that, I mean, we look back at in history. Okay,
- 16:36Speaker 2: who closed it out for the Cardinals as a as
- 16:38Speaker 2: a young rookie, Wayne Wright? What was he throwing? He
- 16:43Speaker 2: was throwing from a high angle. He would that curveball
- 16:46Speaker 2: was going straight down and he got angle on his fastball.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I'm not saying they're the same guy. Wayn Wright wasn't
- 16:51Speaker 2: throwing one hundred miles an hour and this is an
- 16:54Speaker 2: extreme high angle. But Trey with that type of arm,
- 17:01Speaker 2: with that unique style, that really the only way that
- 17:04Speaker 2: you can as a team layoff stuff is you have
- 17:08Speaker 2: to say you see him up in the zone because
- 17:11Speaker 2: anything down is going to be a ball, except it's
- 17:14Speaker 2: ninety nine, So you got to get it started early.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Like I was super impressive. I had heard a little
- 17:18Speaker 2: bit about him from one of my buddies, but that
- 17:22Speaker 2: was that was impressive.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Is there anything to it that this kid doesn't know?
- 17:27Speaker 1: What he doesn't know? So John Schneider, obviously the manager
- 17:30Speaker 1: and AJ's Manager of the Year in the American League,
- 17:32Speaker 1: had this to say, I don't want to say it's
- 17:34Speaker 1: a risky thing bringing him up, because we talked about
- 17:36Speaker 1: it a lot. We thought he could help us win,
- 17:38Speaker 1: which he did tonight, meaning yesterday. With that being a
- 17:41Speaker 1: little unorthodox at the time of year, a young kid
- 17:43Speaker 1: making his debut and where we're at in the season
- 17:45Speaker 1: and the standings. It's good for everyone else to hear
- 17:48Speaker 1: to see what he can do. But he doesn't know
- 17:50Speaker 1: any differently, right, Like, he doesn't know what he doesn't know,
- 17:53Speaker 1: and it's kind of nice going in there as this
- 17:55Speaker 1: kid that to him, it's just the same game that
- 17:58Speaker 1: he's been playing all the time, same game between those
- 18:01Speaker 1: White Lions. I mean, is there something to be said
- 18:04Speaker 1: about him being a little bit naive to what it
- 18:06Speaker 1: is to be in the big leagues and just shoving.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, he's used to doing this though. He shoved
- 18:11Speaker 2: in college. That's why he was a first round pick.
- 18:13Speaker 2: And now he's gone through the minor league, so he
- 18:15Speaker 2: doesn't know any different. The only thing I worry about
- 18:17Speaker 2: with him being a reliever is he hasn't done it.
- 18:19Speaker 2: He hasn't done it. So if I was them, and
- 18:23Speaker 2: I think with their rotation, I would say, all right,
- 18:25Speaker 2: all right, you're gonna get some bullpen outings to try
- 18:28Speaker 2: to see if you can do this and give us
- 18:30Speaker 2: two innings, three innings if we needed, or an inning
- 18:32Speaker 2: or come in the eighth and get us to Hoffmann.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I think that if I was the Blue Jays, that's
- 18:37Speaker 2: what I would try and do, especially if they're thinking
- 18:38Speaker 2: about putting him on the postseason roster, because I think
- 18:41Speaker 2: he could be a weapon in the bullpen. Brandon Finnegan.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Brandon Finnegan, people might not remember him twenty fourteen, came
- 18:48Speaker 2: out of college, was in a college World Series, pitched
- 18:50Speaker 2: in the World Series. He was a short, little lefty,
- 18:53Speaker 2: went through ninety four ninety sevens with a sinker, so
- 18:57Speaker 2: completely a different type of pitcher. The game now gets
- 19:02Speaker 2: guys prepared for these moments as much as you can
- 19:05Speaker 2: be prepared. His stuff plays, and as long as Pete Walker,
- 19:09Speaker 2: who's been in Toronto for twenty years, lets him know
- 19:14Speaker 2: what he needs to do his role when he's in
- 19:16Speaker 2: the when he's in the postseason, I think he one
- 19:19Speaker 2: hundred percent makes that roster just based on stuff, then
- 19:23Speaker 2: the fact that he didn't look overmatched. I'd like to
- 19:25Speaker 2: see him against a better lineup than the Rays, but
- 19:27Speaker 2: the raise the Rays get hit sometimes and he shut
- 19:31Speaker 2: them down.

- 20:32Speaker 1: For a hot second about George Springer and like what
- 20:36Speaker 1: kind of year this guy has had for the Toronto
- 20:39Speaker 1: Blue Jays Seeing.
- 20:41Speaker 2: The comeback player of the year. He's got to be
- 20:42Speaker 2: a comeback player of.
- 20:43Speaker 1: The year, got to be right. I mean, he's he's
- 20:45Speaker 1: he's got to be the comeback player of the year.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I don't know if he's going to be the comeback
- 20:50Speaker 2: player of the year. I he's getting the discussion. I
- 20:51Speaker 2: think de gram is but the way the year at
- 20:53Speaker 2: DA gram Is is going to be the comeback player
- 20:55Speaker 2: of the year. But I mean George Springer, his care
- 20:59Speaker 2: is at the top of the list for position players,
- 21:03Speaker 2: and the year he's had has been fun to watch
- 21:05Speaker 2: because he's a fun player when he's right. Right, let
- 21:09Speaker 2: me ask you this, most I would say he's most improved. Sorry, Alana,
- 21:12Speaker 2: I would say he's most improved. I have a problem
- 21:15Speaker 2: when guys that played the year before and just didn't
- 21:17Speaker 2: do good get comeback player of the year, like the
- 21:20Speaker 2: grom was out out and what he did this year.
- 21:22Speaker 2: So I would say it's played last year, he pitched
- 21:25Speaker 2: last year, the Graham he pitched how much? Yeah, but
- 21:31Speaker 2: George played the whole year and just wasn't good.
- 21:34Speaker 1: But do you think comeback player of the year should
- 21:36Speaker 1: be like a medical issue, like the player was hurt
- 21:39Speaker 1: and couldn't all right, So what about Trevor's story?
- 21:41Speaker 2: Then?
- 21:41Speaker 1: Is he your comeback player of the Year. Because trevor
- 21:43Speaker 1: story after the freaking I mean right going up into
- 21:46Speaker 1: the All Star break and the second half of the
- 21:48Speaker 1: season has been ridunculous. He is finally what I thought
- 21:52Speaker 1: he was going to be in Boston when they acquired
- 21:55Speaker 1: him in free agency. It took a while for trevor
- 21:57Speaker 1: story to show the Boston fans who he was, and
- 22:00Speaker 1: I kept telling people and nobody wanted to listen. And
- 22:03Speaker 1: finally Pap gave me credit for saying, wait, Trevor's story
- 22:06Speaker 1: is going to be an unbelievable player for this Boston
- 22:09Speaker 1: Red Sox club. He could very well be in that
- 22:12Speaker 1: conversation with George Springer for the American League Comeback Player
- 22:15Speaker 1: of the Year. Is that fair?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Another most improved? I mean, it takes a long time
- 22:21Speaker 2: to come back from shoulder injuries. Again, I'm trying to
- 22:25Speaker 2: look up how many at bats Trevor's story had last year. Okay,
- 22:29Speaker 2: so he played, he didn't play that much at all.
- 22:32Speaker 2: So he was coming back from that shoulder surgery last
- 22:34Speaker 2: year and he came back and didn't play, So yes,
- 22:37Speaker 2: he could definitely, especially since he's been in one hundred
- 22:40Speaker 2: and forty six games. I did. Dudes playing every day,
- 22:43Speaker 2: and there's a reason he got paid what he did.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Everyone's gonna be like, oh, he's inflated numbers because of Colorado.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I don't know. There's very few dudes that are that
- 22:53Speaker 2: skinny and can hit the ball as hard as he
- 22:55Speaker 2: can hit it.
- 22:57Speaker 1: That's skinny. He also has a really a really, really
- 23:00Speaker 1: good glove. By the way, Jacob de Gurm three starts
- 23:03Speaker 1: last year last year guys ten and two thirds innings,
- 23:06Speaker 1: all in September, so he barely pitched. He barely pitched. Yeah,
- 23:11Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. It's a good conversation to
- 23:13Speaker 1: have with George Springer looks great, Trevor's story looks great.
- 23:16Speaker 1: You know, both of those teams hopefully making them most season.
- 23:19Speaker 3: What's up?
- 23:19Speaker 2: Okay, George will get George will get some MVP votes,
- 23:23Speaker 2: which I don't think people. You know, when you start
- 23:24Speaker 2: talking about farther down the list MVP votes, like Willie
- 23:29Speaker 2: finished above Nick Kurtz in the MVP voting. I don't know,
- 23:32Speaker 2: but like those are two guys that will in no
- 23:35Speaker 2: way are going to be in the top three. In
- 23:38Speaker 2: my opinion, I guess I should have hesitated when I
- 23:40Speaker 2: said that. But like you sit there, they're not gonna
- 23:44Speaker 2: be in the top two. You know who the top
- 23:46Speaker 2: two are. But for George Springer to do this, really,
- 23:51Speaker 2: he's only had one other good year in Toronto and
- 23:53Speaker 2: that was his All Star year, I think twenty two.
- 23:57Speaker 2: And I think it helps this young team that a
- 24:00Speaker 2: veteran guy is gonna come up clutch and they're like, oh,
- 24:04Speaker 2: this dude's been in the playoffs and he was nails
- 24:06Speaker 2: in the playoffs when he was at the Astros. So
- 24:10Speaker 2: it's a cool story for sure.
- 24:11Speaker 1: All Right, guys, this is a little weird. So Adam
- 24:13Speaker 1: mccalvey does a great job for MLB dot com talking
- 24:16Speaker 1: about the Brewers. Covers the Brewers on a daily basis.
- 24:18Speaker 1: The Brewers sent along clarification today that no, Bob Euker
- 24:21Speaker 1: did not leave behind a letter in the event the
- 24:24Speaker 1: team made it back to the postseason. It was written
- 24:27Speaker 1: by Pat Murphy in Uker's style, meant to honor the
- 24:30Speaker 1: man who loved these celebrations so much. It's a little
- 24:34Speaker 1: bit disingenuous to me, guys, Pat Murphy this morning on
- 24:38Speaker 1: six twenty WTMJ on the letter of the team from
- 24:41Speaker 1: Uker in quotes, I just thought it was a great
- 24:43Speaker 1: tribute to Bob. He's been at the forefront of our minds.
- 24:45Speaker 1: It was an opportunity to honor him and connecting the
- 24:47Speaker 1: players to Brewers' history in the city of Milwaukee. AJ,
- 24:50Speaker 1: what's your take.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I don't get why we did this. I don't understand
- 24:54Speaker 2: and listen, Murphy is trying to be cute. I get it.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Maybe it wasn't the right way to go about it.
- 24:59Speaker 2: But the social media team for the Brewers that jumped
- 25:02Speaker 2: on this and made everyone feel like this was a
- 25:04Speaker 2: real thing is where probably went wrong, because you don't
- 25:08Speaker 2: need Maybe Murph wants to do this, he reads us
- 25:10Speaker 2: to the team and doesn't put it out there. But
- 25:12Speaker 2: for the Brewers social media team to say a letter
- 25:15Speaker 2: from Pat Murphy make everyone including us feel like this
- 25:18Speaker 2: was real, and then it was two days later that
- 25:20Speaker 2: it came out that it was fake is crazy to
- 25:23Speaker 2: me that I just I don't know. I like Murph
- 25:25Speaker 2: and I know he's trying to be cute, and he's
- 25:26Speaker 2: trying to do these things and motivate and keep you
- 25:28Speaker 2: in their prayers. But why not just have Christian yell
- 25:31Speaker 2: at you love, Bob Buker or Pat Murphy come up
- 25:33Speaker 2: and say a word, or Mark Antinasio, the owner, come
- 25:36Speaker 2: up and say a word. Hey, Yuke's watching us, guys,
- 25:38Speaker 2: he's looking down upon us. He's proud of you, guys.
- 25:41Speaker 2: We know this, he loves you. That would have been cool.
- 25:43Speaker 2: But to try to fool everybody, it just it didn't
- 25:46Speaker 2: seem right to me. It felt weird. And now that's
- 25:53Speaker 2: come out. I'm glad they're honest about it, but it
- 25:56Speaker 2: felt weird in the moment, and something I lost in translation.
- 26:00Speaker 2: You know, maybe the maybe the social media team thought
- 26:03Speaker 2: it was an actual letter and they were posted. I
- 26:06Speaker 2: don't know. I feel like, yeah, it just felt a
- 26:10Speaker 2: little weird, especially since Antanasio gave Murph the letter and
- 26:15Speaker 2: Murph started reading it. Anyway.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and then Murph was kind of like interjecting his
- 26:20Speaker 1: own things in terms of you know, best record, best
- 26:23Speaker 1: record on the road. I was I was even a
- 26:25Speaker 1: little confused. I was like, well, mister Yuker wouldn't have
- 26:27Speaker 1: known that at the time, and it was the whole
- 26:29Speaker 1: thing was I mean, good intentions, bad execution. I think
- 26:34Speaker 1: Obviously we know how much Bob Yucker means to the
- 26:37Speaker 1: Milwaukee Brewers.
- 26:38Speaker 2: If you have advice, Alon, if you haven't been to Milwaukee,
- 26:41Speaker 2: and I'm sure you got to meet you, but if
- 26:42Speaker 2: you haven't been, I mean, they have huge things of you.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Now the youth press box. Yeah, you go into the booth.
- 26:47Speaker 2: It's Bobby. I mean, listen, bobyger is a legend. Okay,
- 26:49Speaker 2: So just I don't know, it was just it was
- 26:51Speaker 2: just stringing.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Nolan Arnado says he has considered the possibility that this
- 26:55Speaker 1: might be his last homestand as a cardinal, I feel
- 26:57Speaker 1: like this guy's been getting traded for the last seventeen
- 27:00Speaker 1: years and that he anticipates a similar coming winter in
- 27:03Speaker 1: terms of trade discussions as last winter.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Guys.
- 27:06Speaker 1: I mean, is this finally the year that Nolan Aronado
- 27:09Speaker 1: gets traded away from Saint Louis?
- 27:12Speaker 2: Should be? They traded him last year and he didn't
- 27:14Speaker 2: want to do it. So I think he looks up
- 27:15Speaker 2: and says, oh, I don't want I want to don't
- 27:18Speaker 2: want to. I don't want to go somewhere. I want
- 27:20Speaker 2: to stay here. Where As Ken Rosendal just said, they're
- 27:21Speaker 2: probably going to rebuild like yeah, if they find a
- 27:24Speaker 2: good place somewhere that'll take you, that's better than Saint Louis,
- 27:27Speaker 2: he should take it. He has the right to say no,
- 27:29Speaker 2: but gosh, don't you want to play for a winner
- 27:31Speaker 2: rather than a team that we don't think? He's going
- 27:32Speaker 2: to dry very yard next.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Year, man, Eric. I remember when he got traded to
- 27:37Speaker 1: the Saint Louis Cardinals from the Colorado Rockies. I thought
- 27:40Speaker 1: it was a massive mistake from Colorado's perspective, but I
- 27:42Speaker 1: was so excited for Nolan because I was like, Yeah,
- 27:45Speaker 1: he's going to a contender. What went wrong? What happened there? Uh?
- 27:50Speaker 2: YadA? Here? Molina quit? YadA? Hear Molina retired? I think
- 27:54Speaker 2: I think the Cardinals have been reeling. I get it's
- 27:56Speaker 2: just one person, but it's more of the fact that
- 28:00Speaker 2: what that core was built around. I don't think they
- 28:04Speaker 2: kept it up to help Nolan Aernada when he had
- 28:09Speaker 2: started to maybe decline some offensively. Defensively, he's still really good.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I guest he didn't win the Gold Glove. But we're
- 28:16Speaker 2: still just talking now. This season's over, but we're still talking.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Twenty twenty two, he was number he was third in
- 28:24Speaker 2: the MVP voting twenty twenty three. In the first half,
- 28:26Speaker 2: he was an All Star. Ever since the second half
- 28:29Speaker 2: of that season twenty twenty three, he started to he
- 28:33Speaker 2: started to offensively decline. And I think there's the effect
- 28:37Speaker 2: of you know what, YACHTI was here, What are the
- 28:41Speaker 2: Cardinals going to do to replace that huge lynchpin? And
- 28:45Speaker 2: I think maybe they looked ahead and thought a guy
- 28:47Speaker 2: like Nolan Aernada would do that with his defense. It
- 28:49Speaker 2: would be taken over the goal glove defense from behind
- 28:52Speaker 2: a dish. And I don't think they supplemented enough around
- 28:56Speaker 2: Nolan because Nolan wasn't in the prime of his career.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I just didn't see his offense sliding like it has
- 29:02Speaker 2: in the recent years.
- 29:04Speaker 1: And it looks like he sees the riding on the wall.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I think this organization's heading toward young players. It's exactly
- 29:09Speaker 1: what Ken Rosenthal was saying, right, letting them go, and
- 29:11Speaker 1: that just comes with the territory and I see it.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I mean, it looks seems like Nolan Arnado's time as
- 29:16Speaker 1: a Redbird has ended. We will see where he ends
- 29:20Speaker 1: up next year. Listen, I'll take Nolan Arnatto's glove at
- 29:23Speaker 1: third base any dang day.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Hey, if you're a card collector or you're looking to collect, buy, sell, trade,
- 29:30Speaker 3: Arena clubs the spot. I'm going to tell you why
- 29:32Speaker 3: because the old process AJA was very clunky. By a box,
- 29:36Speaker 3: riped the pack, tons of comments, send it in for grading,
- 29:39Speaker 3: and then finally you get everything back. This is weeks
- 29:42Speaker 3: and weeks and you can start to try and sell
- 29:44Speaker 3: the card. We have eliminated that with Arena club or
- 29:47Speaker 3: they have. I act like I'm part of it, but
- 29:49Speaker 3: in really one step.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Arena's your one stop shop for everything. You get a card,
- 29:53Speaker 2: you open a slab pack, the card is there, it's graded,
- 29:56Speaker 2: It spins around. Cooley shows you three D the front,
- 29:59Speaker 2: the back, you can look at the corners, you can
- 30:01Speaker 2: look at everything, and then you get a decision. Do
- 30:03Speaker 2: I want to keep it? Do I want to sell it?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Do I want to trade? It? Gives you an instant offer.
- 30:07Speaker 2: You can buy it back and re rip another slab
- 30:09Speaker 2: pack and try for someone else, or you can keep
- 30:11Speaker 2: it and hope the value goes up and sell it
- 30:13Speaker 2: a later date. It is truly the best spot to
- 30:15Speaker 2: get carved.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Twenty percent off your first slab pack or card purchase
- 30:19Speaker 3: can be had right now at arenaclub dot com. Slash
- 30:22Speaker 3: foul and use code foul.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Here you have it. The film icon, starting classic movies
- 30:28Speaker 1: such as Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid and All
- 30:31Speaker 1: the President's Men. He won an Oscar for directing ordinary
- 30:34Speaker 1: people and founded at the Sundance Film Institute, which is unbelievable.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Robert Redford, guys to me, obviously, was born many many
- 30:42Speaker 1: moons ago, nineteen thirty six. He was born was one
- 30:45Speaker 1: of the classic movie stars. Right, he was like Carrie Grant.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I mean, Robert Redford was not a celebrity. He was
- 30:51Speaker 1: a movie star. And here's a fun fact about mister Redford.
- 30:54Speaker 1: He was a janitor in the nineteen fifties at a
- 30:57Speaker 1: watering hole in Boulder, Colorado, at the famous bar called
- 31:01Speaker 1: the Sink.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 31:02Speaker 1: He actually attended the University of Colorado, which is where
- 31:05Speaker 1: I went to school. And he was a janitor at
- 31:07Speaker 1: the Sink, which is a famous, famous, famous bar there.
- 31:10Speaker 1: And he went on, obviously to do amazing things. May
- 31:14Speaker 1: he rest in peace. The Natural has to be one
- 31:17Speaker 1: of my favorite baseball movies ever. Do you guys like
- 31:20Speaker 1: The Natural? Where does it rank in terms of your list?
- 31:23Speaker 1: Of baseball movies.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Natural's good. Bull Durham to me is still number one
- 31:29Speaker 2: and always be number one. It's about a catcher, and
- 31:32Speaker 2: it's the most realistic baseball movie that I've ever seen,
- 31:34Speaker 2: especially for when I came up through the minor leagues
- 31:37Speaker 2: and the stuff they did, because we did a lot
- 31:38Speaker 2: of that same stuff. So to me, Bull Durham, but
- 31:40Speaker 2: the Natural is definitely top probably three right up there.
- 31:44Speaker 2: But listen, the thing about Robert Redford to me is
- 31:47Speaker 2: not the Natural. He was in a movie called Jeremiah Johnson. Okay,
- 31:51Speaker 2: And when I was in the minor leagues, we had
- 31:53Speaker 2: a coach named Stu Clyburn that made us watch Jeremiah
- 31:57Speaker 2: Johnson like twenty times a year. I only know Robert
- 32:00Speaker 2: Redford does Jeremiah Johnson. Like we're talking about all these
- 32:04Speaker 2: other movies. He's Jeremiah Johnson. To me, what.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Is that movie about. I don't even know what's that.
- 32:09Speaker 2: He's like a mountain man and he like lives out
- 32:11Speaker 2: in the there's a song Jeremiah Johnson. Yeah. My Game
- 32:17Speaker 2: was a good movie too, with Brad Pitt. By the way,
- 32:18Speaker 2: that that was a good movie. I'm not sure if
- 32:22Speaker 2: we're talking about Robert Redford movies or not. But the
- 32:25Speaker 2: fact that we've been on for three seasons now and
- 32:29Speaker 2: Stu Clyiborne or Stan Cliborne Twins have not come up
- 32:34Speaker 2: until this day on FT is unbelievable. But anyway, I
- 32:38Speaker 2: regress to the top five baseball movies of all time.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I think The Natural is up there. I think Major
- 32:44Speaker 2: League because that's a good comedy. My favorite, personally is
- 32:51Speaker 2: For the Love of the Game. I know it's Morny
- 32:53Speaker 2: and whatever. I think Bull Durham's in there, and then
- 32:58Speaker 2: everybody's fourth. You have to you have to try to
- 33:01Speaker 2: our fifth one. You have to try to throw one
- 33:04Speaker 2: of the other ones in there. From my kid days,
- 33:07Speaker 2: I think Rookie of the Year is there. Although The Rookie.
- 33:09Speaker 2: The Rookie is a solid movie, but you know, Disney
- 33:13Speaker 2: maybe made it a little hokey, like the guy was
- 33:17Speaker 2: throwing one hundred from the left side, so it felt
- 33:20Speaker 2: like more like nuke l Loos than anything. But there's
- 33:23Speaker 2: some good baseball movies out there, but The Natural is
- 33:25Speaker 2: the top five for me.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I mean, as far as Robert Redford movies are concerned,
- 33:30Speaker 1: I'm going to give you a list of some of them.
- 33:31Speaker 1: I know, I know, AJ just said Jeremiah Johnson was
- 33:34Speaker 1: the only like real Robert Redford movie that he really
- 33:36Speaker 1: knew about. But think about I mean Busch Cassidy in
- 33:38Speaker 1: the Sundown, I mean, this is certainly before our time.
- 33:41Speaker 1: It came out in nineteen sixty nine. But the Sting
- 33:43Speaker 1: nineteen seventy three, the way we were, I mean, that's
- 33:46Speaker 1: that's a classic. All the President's Men in nineteen seventy six,
- 33:50Speaker 1: Three Days of the condor The Natural. Obviously we just
- 33:53Speaker 1: talked about that. Sneakers, the Horse Whisper, Spy Game, All
- 33:55Speaker 1: is Lost, The Walk in the Woods is pretty good.
- 33:58Speaker 1: The Old Man and the Gun, I mean, Robert Redford guys,
- 34:01Speaker 1: that's I don't know, just makes me sad. It makes
- 34:02Speaker 1: me sad. What do you like about the Yeah, the
- 34:08Speaker 1: Natural was it? I think you know Roy Hobbs like
- 34:11Speaker 1: he was forty six, by the way when he made
- 34:13Speaker 1: that movie, which is insane.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Well, he gets a hit off, he gets a hit
- 34:16Speaker 2: off the whammer, remember, or he strikes out the whammer
- 34:19Speaker 2: or whatever he does. I don't forget what he does,
- 34:20Speaker 2: which is supposed to be Babe Ruth at the time.
- 34:23Speaker 2: I mean The whole thing is pretty It's pretty cool
- 34:26Speaker 2: how he hits the home run and he breaks the
- 34:28Speaker 2: clock and he's running around the field. It just if
- 34:30Speaker 2: you like baseball, it's just such a nostalgic movie. Uh,
- 34:34Speaker 2: you know, we need to just look at it and
- 34:36Speaker 2: the way the kids reacted to him. And you know
- 34:38Speaker 2: who didn't as a kid growing up have a wonder boy?
- 34:41Speaker 2: I mean I had a wonder boy. Every every kid
- 34:43Speaker 2: had a wonder boy, right, And I was looking for
- 34:44Speaker 2: the tree that was struck by lightning. And when he
- 34:47Speaker 2: looks at me, looks at the kid and goes, hey,
- 34:49Speaker 2: was it Bobby? Pick me out a winter Bobby? I mean,
- 34:51Speaker 2: one of the great lines in a baseball movie of
- 34:53Speaker 2: all time. And he goes and gets them, you know,
- 34:56Speaker 2: the wonder boy, and he hits the home run and
- 34:57Speaker 2: that whole thing. I mean, it was just it was
- 34:59Speaker 2: just so nostalgia. Again, if you like baseball, just make
- 35:01Speaker 2: you like baseball a little bit more. If you're a
- 35:04Speaker 2: baseball If you were a baseball player and you were
- 35:07Speaker 2: allowed to work on the lathe in shop class, the
- 35:10Speaker 2: first thing you would have done is try to make
- 35:12Speaker 2: a bat, and they would have been your wonder Boy.
- 35:15Speaker 2: As far as my generation, my buddies shop class, we
- 35:20Speaker 2: rarely were allowed to go on the lathe, and I
- 35:22Speaker 2: get it now as an adult. I'm like, why would
- 35:24Speaker 2: you get eighth grader seventh eighth graders on the lathe?
- 35:27Speaker 2: But somebody spinning a baseball bat that's going to be
- 35:30Speaker 2: way too freaking heavy, terrible wood to do it with.
- 35:34Speaker 2: But you did it, and you rode on their wonder Boy.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah, my father in law actually has a lathe right
- 35:40Speaker 1: now in his basement. I'm wondering if I should just
- 35:42Speaker 1: go make a wonder Boy in honor.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I made one in the Fall League as a joke,
- 35:47Speaker 2: and I actually hit my only home run in the
- 35:49Speaker 2: Fall League with it.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Listen to this Citizens Big Park. We know what is
- 36:04Speaker 1: a force when you were there. The fans are massive,

- 36:23Speaker 1: and scallions. Signed me up cheese and scallions and bacon.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I'm in, oh no.
- 36:30Speaker 2: I saw Bader and a couple other guys kept their
- 36:33Speaker 2: shirt off for most of the celebration last night in
- 36:36Speaker 2: Dodger Stadium. I don't think Bader's eating any beater Tots,
- 36:41Speaker 2: just saying ripped, saying the guys, the guys pretty jacked.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Sure, but these these are for These are for the
- 36:50Speaker 1: fat fans like me, like these are for like fans
- 36:53Speaker 1: to enjoy, not the players. Hey, Jae, are you eating?
- 36:55Speaker 1: Are you gonna eat some beater tots? If we go
- 36:57Speaker 1: to some.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Chicken and peats kravvy fries. I'm in I was there
- 37:03Speaker 2: last night. Throw a cheese steak in.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Krat Do you look like you have the same color
- 37:09Speaker 1: hat that you had on yesterday?

- 37:15Speaker 2: I'm not What do you do it? The team that
- 37:17Speaker 2: might have a shot except a Alana picked the Giants
- 37:22Speaker 2: to beat them, and so Alana doesn't believe that the
- 37:24Speaker 2: Diamondbacks you're gonna wear a Diamondbacks hat? That I would
- 37:28Speaker 2: wear this hat every day.
- 37:29Speaker 1: This color of the Giants and the Diamondbacks both need
- 37:32Speaker 1: to be pryed tomorrow. Bet MGM players will receive any
