- 0:00Welcome all, it is a Monday night and it feels like a Monday the way Tanya's kind of bouncing
- 0:09all over the place and you are with your friends. You're in a safe place unless you're someone
- 0:14we don't like. Welcome to The Regulars, I'm Cody Decker.
- 0:17I'm Tanya Rae Fox and actually I've been saving this fun fact for you, which is probably good
- 0:23timing since I did piss you off right before this.
- 0:25We've never done that before, that's ridiculous.
- 0:27But to be fair, I did earn the chagrin. So, you were at my house on Saturday.
- 0:35I was. By the way, your house is awesome.
- 0:39Thank you.
- 0:39You have very high ceilings and a lot of room and by the way, only a few had shown up at the time
- 0:44so I didn't get the full accoutrement, I should say, but I definitely got the good ones.
- 0:50Yeah, you got the best ones. Yeah, everybody else who came after was totally lame.
- 0:52I got the best ones.
- 0:53Yeah, but you were there, you have a signature drink.
- 0:58Yes.
- 0:59And I had forgotten one half of the signature drink stuff, you got it delivered to the house.
- 1:04I ordered it over, no problem.
- 1:05So that means that when you left, your signature drink stuff was still there.
- 1:08Which means I'm coming back for more.
- 1:09Well, here's the news.
- 1:11No, it's all gone?
- 1:12No, no, no, here's the news. Unfortunately for me, fortunately for you, I have to admit
- 1:19that your signature drink is delicious as fuck.
- 1:22It is. By the way, I'm going to tell you what the drink is, they do not pay me.
- 1:25They do not pay me.
- 1:26I don't think, I wonder, do we, should we even say the brand?
- 1:30I'm not going to say the brand.
- 1:31Yeah.
- 1:31But I will tell you what it is.
- 1:33This drink is stupid delicious.
- 1:36It's like, I'm really annoyed.
- 1:39So Chris came out of the shower or something and I was like,
- 1:42dude, Cody's stupid fucking signature drink is so good.
- 1:44I know.
- 1:44I'm now mad.
- 1:45I know.
- 1:46So there is a brand that makes a coconut tequila.
- 1:49It is a well-known brand that makes a coconut-flavored tequila.
- 1:52That maybe would someday want to sponsor us.
- 1:55And if they would like to, they can.
- 1:57But I refuse to play this game until they sponsor us.
- 2:01But I do drink a coconut-flavored tequila and it's very simple.
- 2:04I just put it on ice with Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi or Pepsi Zero.
- 2:09This was Coke Zero.
- 2:10Specifically Coke Zero.
- 2:10Which was the clutch part.
- 2:12It's the bigger part because it's a little sweeter.
- 2:14I can't drink Diet Coke.
- 2:16It's a little sweeter.
- 2:17So like, this is a very sweet cocktail.
- 2:19But when you're outside in the heat, this is a delightful beachy cocktail.
- 2:25It tastes almost like an Almond Joy or something.
- 2:27It's really, really good.
- 2:28And it is my go-to.
- 2:30And I freely admit, is it like a manly drink?
- 2:33Probably not.
- 2:34I don't give a shit.
- 2:35If I'm drinking it, it's manly.
- 2:36It's delicious and I know what I'm talking about.
- 2:39And I apologize that I have taught you the way.
- 2:43Dude, I was so like, because I don't drink soda at all.
- 2:47I don't drink any soda, like ever.
- 2:49The amount of soda that I drank because it was like the day after.
- 2:55It was yesterday that I made myself another one.
- 2:56I was like, this is the most soda I've drank in fucking years.
- 2:58Because of this goddamn drink because it's so good.
- 3:00And I'm like, what I think I'm going to do is I'm going to make it my version
- 3:05and find like a no sugar cola flavoring to use.
- 3:10So I'm going no sugar, obviously.
- 3:12But I also drink no sugar soda all the time.
- 3:16That's just kind of my thing.
- 3:18It's like one of my jams.
- 3:18Because we're both SodaStream people.
- 3:20Yes, big time.
- 3:21Big SodaStream guys.
- 3:22So we have the SodaStream.
- 3:23So I could do like a no sugar kind of flavoring.
- 3:25So I use, I use because Pepsi product, like they don't pay me either.
- 3:30But Pepsi products does do their thing with SodaStream.
- 3:32I often use like zero sugar Pepsi.
- 3:35So that's what it is.
- 3:36You are making like a sparkling water that's flavored like Pepsi.
- 3:39Yes.
- 3:39Okay.
- 3:40So that is my jam.
- 3:41And you know, you know, it's weird.
- 3:42You don't learn this from and it wasn't his drink.
- 3:44He had a similar drink that is even sweeter than this if you believe it.
- 3:48Craig Carton, your favorite.
- 3:50He drinks Grand Marnier and Coca-Cola.
- 3:54Dude, that is, that is such a like 70 year old man thing.
- 3:59It is a very 70 year old.
- 4:01But I'm not going to lie to you.
- 4:02My coconut tequila and Coke Zero is really not far off.
- 4:07When I was thinking about it, I was like, it really is such a weird combo until you taste it.
- 4:12Until you taste it, you're like, why isn't this combo a go-to for everyone?
- 4:16It's like I would have gatekept it except where we are gatekeeping the tequila brand.
- 4:21People can figure it out probably.
- 4:22But iconic signature drink.
- 4:26I'm annoyed how much I like it.
- 4:27I apologize.
- 4:29I have to find a less sugary way to consume it or a less like, I don't know, you know, soda way.
- 4:35Yes, because like the soda of it all it is kind of intense, but like, oh, so anyway, I had to give you that.
- 4:40Thank you.
- 4:41I was waiting until we were on air to tell you.
- 4:43I apologize that I didn't drink all, but I'm also kind of excited because I left you a very simple cocktail that requires no effort whatsoever.
- 4:51I would love to tell you that your coconut tequila will still be at my house when you come back.
- 4:54It might not be.
- 4:54Highly unlikely now.
- 4:57I was like, oh, leave this here.
- 4:58I'll bring it to Cody's next time.
- 4:59It's a bit of a, I'm not going to lie to you, it's a bit of a problem.
- 5:01Yeah.
- 5:02Because the other thing is it tastes so good.
- 5:05It's really good.
- 5:06It goes down really kind of fast.
- 5:08That's another part of it that people need to know in case you are considering doing Cody's signature drink.
- 5:12It does not taste like alcohol.
- 5:13No, no, it goes down very fast and easy tequila soda.
- 5:18So like I I'm used to this the the taste of tequila to the point where it that doesn't even really like it's not so alcoholic taste to me.
- 5:25But this shit does not taste like a cocktail.
- 5:28No, it tastes like coconut flavored Coke.
- 5:30It's not.
- 5:32It can be a problem because before you know it, you may have polished off in a title bottle.
- 5:37Yeah, tequila and you're wobbly.
- 5:40It's it's happened to me.
- 5:42Yeah.
- 5:43Yeah.
- 5:43So that's a thing.
- 5:44That's the thing that's happening in my household these days.
- 5:47You're welcome.
- 5:47Yeah, there's another game and you're back over.
- 5:49I don't know that it'll be there.
- 5:50We can always talk back up though.
- 5:51You know, it's not expensive.
- 5:53I was gonna say, it's also a cheap drink.
- 5:56Cost-effective bottle.
- 5:57Listen, I haven't bought a bottle of tequila.
- 5:59That was like that.
- 6:00And now does that kind of blow you away?
- 6:01Because you know me, I like a good one and I like a good tequila and I like a good fucking scotch.
- 6:06Like I drink good shit.
- 6:08You always got to have your cheap options that taste just as good as anything.
- 6:10You have to have those in your life.
- 6:12You can't I can't sit around drinking in the a-hose all the time, man.
- 6:15If I'm gonna have a casual drink and if I'm out of like a Sunday with some.
- 6:18Yeah, I just want to drink that's easy to have like five and a-hose on the rocks.
- 6:22Yeah, and by the way, I'm not an asshole that says no to a like a seltzer or something like yeah, give me a truly or something like that.
- 6:28I'm gonna shit.
- 6:28Oh, yeah.
- 6:29I don't know.
- 6:29That's what you were drinking until we got you your Coke.
- 6:31Until my Coke Zero's popped in.
- 6:34Just got dropped right off at the front door.
- 6:35Listen, listen, I'm an innovator and I'm a game player.
- 6:38I'm a team player and you know, we're all in this together.
- 6:41So.
- 6:42Yeah, well, I appreciate it and.
- 6:43I'm thrilled to have partaken in your alcoholism.
- 6:46I had to give you props, man.
- 6:47Thank you.
- 6:47Thank you.
- 6:48Has Chris partaken yet?
- 6:50Has he?
- 6:51That's a good question.
- 6:51Did he taste it?
- 6:53I don't know.
- 6:53I don't know.
- 6:54I thought he was probably gonna taste one tonight.
- 6:55Well, I hope he does because I.
- 6:57I still have the stuff.
- 6:58I look forward to changing his life as well.
- 7:01It's it is a game changer.
- 7:02I wish there was another way to say it there.
- 7:04It's a full-on game changer, but we got a lot to cover tonight
- 7:08and we're starting a little bit.
- 7:10It looks like in my realm are we starting in the NBA or we starting
- 7:14with the CBA proposal because we can go in a lot of directions
- 7:19today.
- 7:19Well, or are we starting World Cup?
- 7:21Well, we weren't gonna do World Cup because I was like, okay,
- 7:24we're gonna take a little break.
- 7:25We're running.
- 7:26I didn't know how today's games are gonna go.
- 7:27I'm like, I'll give us a little break.
- 7:28We're just God.
- 7:30Then we just got I we might as well.
- 7:32At least talk.
- 7:33We have to at least mention it.
- 7:34Germany, Paraguay, because we had our first this this cup seems to
- 7:40be dedicated to giving us as many of the like, like most insane
- 7:45results.
- 7:46Amazing as humanly.
- 7:47I'm loving this thing.
- 7:48So and by the way, can I can I admit something?
- 7:50Yeah, when it first started and I'm talking like the first like
- 7:54three days, I was a stereotypical American.
- 7:57I was not super into it.
- 7:59Okay, because I was taking in my like past not my past like biases
- 8:03or anything like that.
- 8:04I just made past disinterest almost past his interest in and I feel
- 8:08like that disinterest a little unfair.
- 8:09It's just a combination of listen.
- 8:12It's just not been in front of me.
- 8:13The best soccer in the world has not been in front of me enough and
- 8:16based on my my history of being a pro baseball player, our athletics
- 8:20and our media coverage of athletics has for lack of a better phrase
- 8:24Really bastardized soccer to a point where we've made it a lesser
- 8:28sport knowing full well men's soccer.
- 8:30I should really say I apologize, but uh, but unless it's not knowing
- 8:34full well that this is not the case.
- 8:36I know this in my head.
- 8:38You intellectually understood.
- 8:39I'm aware, but because I've never experienced it and I have never
- 8:44really had a dog in the race.
- 8:46Sort of like when you've never been in love, but you know, the
- 8:48concept, you know, it exists.
- 8:49You're told it's there.
- 8:50You've seen other people, but then all of a sudden you fall in love.
- 8:54And you're like, fuck.
- 8:55Yeah, and holy shit.
- 8:57Am I in love?
- 8:58Yeah, it took about three days.
- 8:59It took, you know what?
- 9:00It's like it took the weekend because I for when it launched like,
- 9:02okay, I'll then the Saturday you need to get hammered at O'Brien's
- 9:06then the Saturday came where you could fully understand and I just
- 9:09said, wait a second.
- 9:10It's like this every four years.
- 9:14I'm I never want this to end.
- 9:16I want this to be every year and this is amazing and I love everything
- 9:21about it and I've loved everything about it from not only the soccer
- 9:25in the play on the field on the pitch.
- 9:27I'm sorry.
- 9:28I'm not going to say field.
- 9:29So thank you.
- 9:29You can say both not only the athleticism involved not only getting
- 9:35a chance to see because you know, I've seen I've been to MLS games.
- 9:37I've watched so much soccer in my life.
- 9:40Yeah, you're not it's yeah, you just could never had the like, but
- 9:43I've never been on a lot of dates.
- 9:45I've been on a lot of days dude watching this watching the gameplay
- 9:49watching legitimately watching the bodies on the field strategically
- 9:53move and really having a chance to really sit down and watch it really
- 9:57just watch it the very best players who exist on our planet in our
- 10:02time zone in our stadiums fucking doing this it is just straight-up
- 10:06different.
- 10:07It is just like oh my god.
- 10:08I get it.
- 10:09I understand why this is exciting.
- 10:10I understand why people fucking die for this shit.
- 10:13Yeah, I fucking get it the problem that I'm only the only problem I
- 10:18should really say that none of this is a problem.
- 10:20This is fucking right.
- 10:21Yeah, it's just where do we go from here because everyone then breaks
- 10:25off into their better leagues that isn't here and that sucks because
- 10:30like what we're doing you all stay in the MLS so I can continue watching
- 10:33all of you.
- 10:34We are doing better on that front and like so like we've always the
- 10:37MLS has always been able to get like the stars who are still have a lot
- 10:41going on but at the end of their run, it's like at the end, you know,
- 10:43but like they've still had like really great careers Tyrion Rhee and
- 10:47David Beckham and obviously Lionel Messi and these players have always
- 10:49come over here Pele notoriously actually so back in the day when it
- 10:53wasn't the MLS, but you know, we always have that opportunity and I
- 10:57think it's really a marketing thing more than anything because like
- 11:02there are opportunities to have these these huge talents over here and
- 11:06then we don't really capitalize on it as much.
- 11:08However, I understand and I do.
- 11:11I mean I can also completely I can confirm that you are genuinely
- 11:17invested because we watched the shootout between Paraguay and Germany
- 11:21together.
- 11:22I stayed after this after my show today because the Brazil match
- 11:25started literally at 10 right when I got off the air with Derrick
- 11:29Fisher.
- 11:30I stayed and watched the first half so I didn't miss anything.
- 11:35I left at 11 an hour after I needed to be there.
- 11:39So I think and hustle home to watch the second half like I I am fucking
- 11:46it's not it's not fake at all.
- 11:47Like no, I'm in our sites.
- 11:48We were like freaking out watching it like it as soon and I think the
- 11:52what's probably happening to you is you're also just understanding
- 11:55the game more because you've been watching so much of it like you
- 11:58always know the basics or whatever, but the more you watch anything
- 12:01the more you start noticing the nuances you start appreciating like
- 12:04oh, I never paid attention to like quarter kick form before this.
- 12:07I never noticed it.
- 12:08You're going to start noticing all those things as somebody who's
- 12:10actually invested rather than casually watching but also things
- 12:13I like the Premier League and but but because of the time of the Premier
- 12:16League like yeah, when was the last time you like sat down and watched
- 12:18a full Premier League game?
- 12:19It's been a while.
- 12:20Like I've gone to O'Brien's to watch a man Manchester United game at
- 12:236 in the morning before.
- 12:24Okay, but it's been a while.
- 12:25I've only I've only done like twice and like it's also a bit of a bitch
- 12:28to get there at 6 in the morning.
- 12:29Sometimes Champions League game or something.
- 12:31Yeah, and where was packed and awesome but like also that's a bit of
- 12:35a that's a bit tricky to do that.
- 12:37It is not like you said like it's not as when you have to get up and
- 12:41go to a game at 6 o'clock in the morning or 7 o'clock in the morning
- 12:43to like watch it at the bar like it's now you're like I have to exhaust
- 12:46myself to watch this goddamn game.
- 12:47I don't have to do that.
- 12:48This is our times and this is our shit.
- 12:50This is this is I told you this is prepping us for enjoying the summer
- 12:542028 Olympics but 2028?
- 12:56Yeah, 2028.
- 12:57This is prepping us for that because like for the first time in a while
- 13:01we're finally gonna have the Olympics in our time zone as well, which is
- 13:03gonna be really fucking awesome.
- 13:04Very cool.
- 13:05Which I'm excited about.
- 13:05Yeah, like, you know, my big thing once we got once it got to a shootout
- 13:12with Germany for Paraguay was I genuinely needed them to win so that I
- 13:19could go back on to the internet and make fun of the it was just Paraguay
- 13:23bros because after the US whooped the shit out of Paraguay in the first
- 13:29fucking round first game, I was told over and over again condescendingly
- 13:34by a bunch of bros who either did or probably just started watching soccer
- 13:37again since the last World Cup.
- 13:39And I always know what I'm talking about because I'm me and I don't
- 13:43fucking I don't run my mouth on shit.
- 13:45I don't know about because I'm not trying to get proven wrong.
- 13:47So I know what I talk about and when I know like I we talked about on the
- 13:51show.
- 13:51This is not a team.
- 13:53This was a team that was very hot coming into the tournament that had an
- 13:56incredible defense.
- 13:57This was not a throwaway team and they just beat Germany and they're in
- 14:00the round of 16.
- 14:01So you better bet your ass that right before the show started I went on
- 14:04threads and I was like, oh, hold on.
- 14:06Wait a second.
- 14:07I said it last week.
- 14:08I'll say it again.
- 14:09The just Paraguay bros are fucking silent.
- 14:11Now, where you at?
- 14:13Where you bitches at now hard to find you know, like, you know, and I know
- 14:17Germany was a flawed team, but really cool results Brazil, you know, kind
- 14:23of eked it out and that's I feel like I feel like that's good.
- 14:28Like we needed I think we needed Brazil to make it through.
- 14:30Yes, I know.
- 14:32But a part of me was thinking man Japan.
- 14:34I really thought I was going to do it.
- 14:35I was I think it was good for the star power of it all.
- 14:37So and yeah, we've got I mean next show we're going to have we're going
- 14:41to know whether USA made it to the room.
- 14:42Yes, we will and my favorite thing about that is and I mean this and I
- 14:46brought up on the show today and I know you've seen the clip of the of
- 14:50the Los Angeles ABC reporter who has gone off and like we don't care
- 14:54about Bosnia.
- 14:56We don't need to know about Bosnia.
- 14:58I don't even know where Bosnia is but she was listen, listen, she has
- 15:02since apologized.
- 15:03Okay, so that this poor was trying to be funny this poor girl.
- 15:06I think she was trying to be funny and just talk and I kind of talk or
- 15:11shit, but you know how you like talk shit and you've never done it
- 15:16before.
- 15:17So she kind of went in a whole thing.
- 15:21It went viral for the wrong reasons.
- 15:22She's like and what we're going to go up against Bosnia and who is
- 15:28Bosnia?
- 15:28I don't even know where Bosnia in every and Bosnia like the soccer
- 15:32team even like posted is like the ignorance just sells itself about
- 15:35America and I'm like, she made us into the caricature, which is really
- 15:39that's a huge disappointment.
- 15:41She even finished up with saying and they don't want this smoke anyways
- 15:44back to you Jim and she was just trying to be like it was somebody
- 15:49who's never watched sports in their life trying to talk sports shit and
- 15:53it didn't go well and I laughed a little bit at the amount of backlash
- 15:58and the effect that she had to put out an apology because it's how
- 16:02everybody reacts to it.
- 16:03Like now we are always the stupid Americans.
- 16:04I know we're never putting our best on television.
- 16:07I agree.
- 16:07Just we never really are but I really felt bad for I don't she really
- 16:12didn't I didn't know what she was doing.
- 16:14I told you this last show and it's only getting worse my patience and
- 16:17BOD has run the fuck out, but I couldn't stop laughing like you've
- 16:21been there before or get the fuck off my screen.
- 16:23I'm by the way, just so we're all clear Bosnia is is is north of
- 16:28Montenegro and south of Croatia.
- 16:31It's also a little east of Croatia to in some parts.
- 16:33Well, you know very contested situation there between them in Croatia.
- 16:36That's the kind of the whole thing I know and also east of it is Serbia
- 16:39just so we have a full context of what's surrounding Bosnia someone
- 16:43tweeted or like posted on threads or something where they were like,
- 16:45oh, so like why is it?
- 16:46It's like so not fair that America has to play both Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- 16:50We have to play two countries.
- 16:51They were clearly cut.
- 16:51That's a joke.
- 16:52I hope that's just like as a Serbian I can tell you that so what they do
- 16:58is Serbia plays the first half and Herzegovina plays the second.
- 17:01That's really funny and I bet a lot of people didn't get that good
- 17:07stuff.
- 17:07Well, let's get the headlines because holy shit.
- 17:11What can I say Tanya?
- 17:12This has been a for for for a for an official free agency that hasn't
- 17:17begun yet.
- 17:19Yeah, this has been a batshit free agency.
- 17:21We say this in NFL and NBA all the time where it's like there's no
- 17:24actually there's no like not free agency.
- 17:27Technically, nothing's happened yet, but everything is happening in
- 17:31the NBA and wow, I really do and I love the legal tampering right
- 17:37now in the NBA because holy shit officially 6 p.m.
- 17:41Eastern tomorrow is when free agency hits but Tanya tell us everything
- 17:46we already know so the big one today, which I think we can like
- 17:51honestly probably like break down right now.
- 17:53This is a little bit of media corner.
- 17:54Also in our first headline is that Shams is is working overtime
- 18:00reporting that the Golden State Warriors declined Draymond Green's
- 18:0527.7 million dollar player option to become a free agent and this
- 18:09comes out the day after the Warriors said that they expected him to
- 18:12pick up the option instead.
- 18:14He's delivering Golden State time and space to pursue Anthony Davis
- 18:18with the Wizards and convince LeBron James to join Steph Curry Draymond
- 18:22Green and his old Lakers championship teammate in the bay.
- 18:25So my I read this report.
- 18:30I read it when I got the notification on my phone and then I read this
- 18:33report later on threads and this to me is like a perfect example of
- 18:38how these insiders are an absolute fucking joke an absolute fucking
- 18:45joke.
- 18:45I wasn't expecting to say that so that's a fucking funny because can
- 18:49you not do that when I'm drinking because I I really want to I I
- 18:53thought you were to say is impressive.
- 18:55Please take it away.
- 19:00Tell me more.
- 19:00So this reeks of Rich Paul has given me all this information and I've
- 19:05I've just failed to fact-check it.
- 19:08That's this reeks of Rich Paul maneuvering and manipulating the free
- 19:12agent offseason market.
- 19:13Yes, and we've seen this before we're going to keep seeing it.
- 19:15I said he's basically gone full shifter and here's the thing.
- 19:18Can you give me one good fucking reason why the Warriors would do this?
- 19:27I mean, this is you did you ever see that movie Las Vegas second?
- 19:30I'm trying to see excuse me.
- 19:32You asked me a question this question requires actually legitimate
- 19:36thinking give me a second because this would make them an average and
- 19:39this is true 37.2 years old which would make them the oldest team in
- 19:42the NBA by roughly a decade.
- 19:44Excuse me.
- 19:47You asked me a question.
- 19:48Why would the Warriors do this now to answer your question?
- 19:55Because it would be a lot of fun to watch.
- 19:57I listen what if I?
- 20:01I would watch this.
- 20:02I was two years away from Stefan LeBron and the Olympics two years ago.
- 20:08Like we're we're old here.
- 20:10I'm not saying you're wrong.
- 20:12You're dead right Stefan LeBron would be cool.
- 20:14I would I would and I would understand that but like
- 20:17AD okay, so hear me out on this.
- 20:21There's been a perspective that's been perspective presented me recently
- 20:25that at first I would scoff at but the more I'm thinking about it and
- 20:32I think you're going to scoff at it first and you might even make you
- 20:34mad.
- 20:34Well, you know that has happened with me a lot but this is from Derek
- 20:38Fisher.
- 20:38Okay.
- 20:39Well, I'll be nice to do fish.
- 20:40I can't start a beef with him on my show deficient deficient Decker on
- 20:43the fan.
- 20:44La you should listen.
- 20:45I can't be the angry co-hosts, but he has this he said this thing today
- 20:49that at first we said I was going to push back.
- 20:50Okay, but then he said it again the next hour and I'm just kind of like
- 20:53I need you to really kind of go into details about this and it was about
- 20:56like these guys each one of these guys are at a certain age in their
- 21:01career.
- 21:03Every team they go on.
- 21:05They are fighting for a championship period.
- 21:07It's it every one of them.
- 21:09They're not there to collect a pay.
- 21:11They are really are trying to win a championship in terms of mentality
- 21:14like yes, they are each one of them, but he said there is an aspect that
- 21:18when you get to a certain point, you just want to make sure you no matter
- 21:21what you're enjoying showing up every day.
- 21:24So he was kind of almost presenting it is yes.
- 21:27Would this be a little bit of a country club?
- 21:30Yeah, but these each one of these guys would be really fired up to show
- 21:34up just to be with each other because the minds and collective years
- 21:39together would just be different almost like he was almost like it to
- 21:42me.
- 21:43He was like almost expressing that this team could beat teams just bought
- 21:47with their brains along with their ability while also taking a little
- 21:50bit off.
- 21:51I just kept pushing back going it would be a collectively 37 year old
- 21:55average age team though and that to me is just wild in today's day and
- 22:01age.
- 22:02See that's the interesting part is like deep that thing from D fish does
- 22:05not address my core question.
- 22:07What's your core question?
- 22:08Why would the Warriors do that?
- 22:10Because they I think they're already kind of locked into this star power
- 22:14that they have and it looks like they're planning on running it back.
- 22:16No matter what it's they're not locked in.
- 22:18They're literally not locked into Draymond.
- 22:20He's he literally just opted out.
- 22:22So you think they're going to like his option was 27.7 totally affordable
- 22:27very important.
- 22:27Have I agree Steph?
- 22:29Yes, they are they Steph for garlic even at best.
- 22:33We've got another three four or five years max of stuff.
- 22:36I agree, right?
- 22:36I agree.
- 22:37So we just talked about this in our last show about these billionaires
- 22:41and they're like constant need to make sure that they're kind of doing
- 22:44something that's going to like bring in the money.
- 22:46You could argue that having LeBron and Steph and Draymond together will
- 22:50bring in the ratings, but the Warriors don't have any issues with ratings
- 22:52more does LeBron James.
- 22:54That is a fair point and they are tanking their ability to build beyond
- 22:59Steph Curry that I agree with so I'm a little that's it's not that I don't
- 23:03think they'd want to do it.
- 23:04They definitely I do ad will absolute with wants to be back with LeBron.
- 23:09No matter what if he couldn't go with LeBron.
- 23:10He'd want to be with Steph the both of them who wouldn't want to fucking
- 23:13do that.
- 23:13I like to see it.
- 23:15I'm not gonna lie to you.
- 23:16I also just like it's like a bunch of dudes wrecked by Rich Paul and
- 23:19Shams is suddenly telling us that like they all just aren't we're going
- 23:23to try to fuck it.
- 23:23Oh, come on.
- 23:25No, no, it's definitely corny, but I would like to I'm not going to push
- 23:29back because I agree with you.
- 23:30It's obviously from Rich Paul.
- 23:32I don't have as big of a problem with it and I'll tell you why because
- 23:35it's not unlike what the NBA teams do exist themselves.
- 23:38I don't think that this is a like new.
- 23:40Yeah, like it's not like a phenomenon that I don't need but it is I think
- 23:44that the manipulation of the agents are doing what they do.
- 23:48Yeah, the teams are doing what they do, whatever.
- 23:51I am so tired of insiders report.
- 23:55Just well, that's a fair that's fair.
- 23:57Rich Paul is currently trying to do this like like I mean, this is not
- 24:00journalism and people know I know but people's pushback is always like
- 24:04well insiders aren't journalists.
- 24:06Okay, they you're saying that because they've stopped doing journalism
- 24:10not because the definition of the job is not true.
- 24:13You are correct.
- 24:13No, no, that's it drives me nuts when people say that to me.
- 24:16It's like you're not journalist.
- 24:17Yeah at one point guys.
- 24:18I know I'm old.
- 24:20I'm older than I look Adam Schefter used to do journalism.
- 24:23I know that's crazy.
- 24:25I know you can't even believe it but he actually did Walsh used to do
- 24:29journalism like when he did the job before Sean but that's not what the
- 24:33job is anymore.
- 24:34Sadly, I but you're now you're the guy now.
- 24:36You're like, oh, well, that's not my fucking point.
- 24:39I don't know.
- 24:39I get it.
- 24:40My point is that that job has ceased to exist.
- 24:42And so this job of PR from Rich Paul Shams being PR for Rich Paul's
- 24:47agenda is not is absolutely not the the like trick that's that's not
- 24:53the transparent role.
- 24:54He's supposed to you're absolutely right.
- 24:55But that's where this is.
- 24:57I agree with you.
- 24:58No, you're not wrong.
- 24:59I I agree with everything you're saying.
- 25:01This is my not my pushback my answer to that.
- 25:05They're on ESPN.
- 25:07They are ESPN is not a journalistic integrity organization.
- 25:11ESPN is same with Fox same with basically everything that has portrayed
- 25:15sports on television is no longer journalism.
- 25:19It just is it is I know but that but that either take but this is what
- 25:23I'm I'm saying.
- 25:24No, I'm a great man, but I but this is what they do.
- 25:26They take people who were this is what I do and call like so this is
- 25:30it's like the cycle, right?
- 25:31Yes, they they used to be journalists.
- 25:33They pretend to do journalism.
- 25:34They're not doing it.
- 25:35And then I talk about how they're not doing is that someone on the
- 25:37internet's like well, we don't even expect them to do that anymore.
- 25:40And that's that's the fucking but that's the problem.
- 25:42That's the problem.
- 25:43But my problem is not with them.
- 25:44My problems with the system.
- 25:45Yeah, the system is basically it's almost like journalism and journalism
- 25:48school and everywhere you work.
- 25:49You work at the athletic you work at New York Times.
- 25:51You work at the New York Post.
- 25:53I'm sorry.
- 25:53I'm going to remove the post from that conversation you work from one
- 25:56of these reputable fucking places where you actually are a journalist.
- 26:00You are doing the actual journalism.
- 26:02All these places like you doing that that's now sadly the fucking
- 26:08minor leagues now.
- 26:09It's not but it's viewed as the minor leagues and now until you get
- 26:12called up to ESPN where you throw out all of your journalistic
- 26:15integrity and become a fucking reality show host.
- 26:19Yeah, that's just I hate it.
- 26:21I fucking hate it.
- 26:22Yeah, but that's what it is.
- 26:24What I think needs to be done.
- 26:28Please telling you this I'll tell you what needs to be done people
- 26:31and I'm not kidding.
- 26:32This is going to people need to pay people like me.
- 26:35Yes.
- 26:36Do you know how many people every day are like I get actual news
- 26:40and actual analysis from you.
- 26:42I've stopped watching ESPN.
- 26:43There's a couple other people on the internet that I watch.
- 26:45I get it for you.
- 26:46I get it from whoever right?
- 26:47Yeah, and meanwhile, I I'm struggling to pay my bills.
- 26:52These motherfuckers are on ESPN.
- 26:54And then I've got everybody telling me they don't expect any better
- 26:56because they've got people like me and people like us with doing
- 26:59this shit for no money and trying to give you the fucking actual
- 27:03truth, right?
- 27:04So it's like so you don't actually like you motherfuckers don't
- 27:07get to come to me and be like, oh, that's just what it is when
- 27:09the only reason you know what it is is because of us like fuck
- 27:13off and I agree with you wholeheartedly.
- 27:16It's this is a systematic problem more than it is a Shams problem.
- 27:19I'm not going to be mad at Shams for taking advantage of a system
- 27:21that is now been catered to what he is now become and by the way,
- 27:25I actually personally like Shams.
- 27:26Shams is a great guy.
- 27:27I got I don't you don't that's fine.
- 27:29I've only worked with a few times.
- 27:30I don't dislike him.
- 27:31Yeah, I would say I am neutral.
- 27:33Okay, that's fair.
- 27:34Yeah, I would say I'm neutral too.
- 27:35I've I've hung out in a group with Shams.
- 27:38I think he's very handsome.
- 27:40He's very handsome.
- 27:40That's all that's all but like he's attractive on camera charming
- 27:44enough, but I can't stress enough.
- 27:46That's just what these systems are now.
- 27:48Sadly, it's really awful.
- 27:50It's really fascinating is like I you know, I'm not going to spill
- 27:53the entirety here, but the way that Shams got his role as the
- 27:59insider where he was able to build into what he has was essentially
- 28:04another person doing the role prior to him being really generous
- 28:09with their Rolodex of sources, right?
- 28:12He was kind of brought into it by someone with who was like very
- 28:16Generous and wanted to see him succeed and then they were rivals
- 28:20for a long time and Shams in a lot of ways undermine him and
- 28:25disrespected that like a little bit of you know, lack of gamesmanship
- 28:31like real like integrity and and then on top of it you see what
- 28:36insiderdom has become in general and it really is like there's
- 28:41no there's no integrity anymore like in any of these spaces.
- 28:45There was an integrity in the rules.
- 28:47There's not there's a lot of there's just like a lot of petty
- 28:50bullshit between these insiders and reporters and like that's
- 28:54where it's like also just kind of gross too.
- 28:55So it's just it's not that I think that Shams is any worse than
- 28:58anybody else.
- 28:59No, I don't think he is but I mean also like, you know, he was
- 29:04very young when he got catapult catapulted into this role and
- 29:08like like bro, what are you 33?
- 29:10You've already given up on fucking having any integrity.
- 29:13Wow, man, like you got a long way to go on the rest of your
- 29:16fucking journey.
- 29:17All right, fine.
- 29:18That's fine.
- 29:19And and you know what that I shouldn't the one thing I will
- 29:23say is it's not just him.
- 29:25If you weren't doing this it'll be somebody else doing it.
- 29:28And so he's decided he's doing it great.
- 29:30You're getting the paycheck.
- 29:30You're getting the paycheck, but I am okay getting on my moral
- 29:33high horse and on my integrity high horse because I at any
- 29:37point in time could have taken a lot of paychecks.
- 29:39I didn't take so I get to be that I I know people hate this
- 29:43but I get to be the integrity police because I am sure I don't
- 29:46actually have anything that anyone can hold against me.
- 29:48Well, the thing is like I really do hate where this I spoke
- 29:53to my agent today and we're talking about my any TV going
- 29:56on because I realized I haven't done TV now like a year.
- 29:58What's going on?
- 29:59He's like not just the the whole industry is just downsizing
- 30:01and baseball specially everybody's kind of got their their
- 30:04crews.
- 30:04I'm like, okay.
- 30:04Well, I don't really want to work in baseball anyway.
- 30:06So fucking put me somewhere else.
- 30:08Yeah, and he's just like well, do you I'm just going to focus
- 30:10on my show right now and focus on my stuff.
- 30:12But more I was talking about it.
- 30:14I was just like, I don't even want to fucking go there.
- 30:17Yeah, I just don't like I really because you know the game
- 30:20you're going to have to play because I don't but I don't like
- 30:22the game and in the game is ran by so I want time recently
- 30:28was out in a place and you and I have had this similar
- 30:31conversation because I've always joked that I like I've laughed
- 30:34that like somebody would say you like being the smartest
- 30:37person in the room to me out of ego and I would laugh and
- 30:40I'm like, no, I don't even think I'm the smartest person
- 30:42in most rooms.
- 30:43I'm the smartest person in the rooms that I'm in but you
- 30:46have to understand I've worked in professional baseball
- 30:49and now the sports media industry.
- 30:51I have yet to be in a room where I'm not surrounded by
- 30:53fucking idiots.
- 30:54That's just it.
- 30:55This is a this is truly and I mean this is honestly and not
- 31:01respectfully or disrespectfully.
- 31:02This is just honestly candid.
- 31:04This is a true and utter clown show and it is being run by
- 31:09the biggest idiots that you went to high school with like
- 31:12you no one in this industry is there's 10 smart people in
- 31:16this industry.
- 31:16I've met four of them Tanya's two of them.
- 31:19I don't know what to tell you other than this is a really
- 31:22weird and ugly industry where everyone's trying to kill each
- 31:25other and I'll give you a really good example.
- 31:27We're talking about insiders and how weird the insider
- 31:30industry is one industry insider has been ousted from her
- 31:34position only one for business practices that are not good
- 31:39even though everyone has their really shady business practices,
- 31:42but only one insider has been ousted from their position.
- 31:47You should all be asking yourself a very simple question.
- 31:50Why was that one targeted and not everyone else because there
- 31:54are other people in this industry or insiders who do when
- 31:57I say the exact same thing if not more the fuck are you people
- 32:03talking about?
- 32:03Isn't that funny?
- 32:04How weird weird so I talking about shams.
- 32:08I'm being told this is just what it is.
- 32:10This is how every insider is but you can't expect integrity.
- 32:13Oh, we hold on.
- 32:13Wait, where was this two months ago?
- 32:15Yeah, because during the Diana Rossini you were shocked
- 32:18appalled grass.
- 32:19My God, how dare the integrity of the game?
- 32:24They are compromising the role of Journal AJ Brown wants
- 32:28to leave his business.
- 32:31How did she learn that?
- 32:34Yeah, isn't that interesting guys clown show?
- 32:38Understand circus clowns running the circus.
- 32:43Yep.
- 32:44So until you guys realize that about the sports industry,
- 32:47I'm not smart.
- 32:48I just seem smart because everyone here is stupid.
- 32:52Exactly.
- 32:54I am average intelligence.
- 32:57I constantly disagree with that but I'm sick of that's because
- 33:00you're surrounded by idiots to know.
- 33:02Well, I wasn't saying that everybody else is smart, but I
- 33:06will say so just beyond what we just talked about in terms
- 33:10of what the mayor may not be happening with the Warriors is
- 33:13way more.
- 33:14I didn't want to ask you specifically about Marcus Smart
- 33:18declining his player option.
- 33:19Do you think?
- 33:20Yeah, I think you're going to end up back with the Lakers
- 33:22at a higher price, which does hurt the cap situation with
- 33:25strongly lynched linked to the rocket.
- 33:27I know and I don't want that to happen.
- 33:29I know it really could.
- 33:31He was by the way, Marcus Smart was like the secret sauce
- 33:34for this team last year.
- 33:35Like I really of how about this?
- 33:37If you gave me the options of keeping the LeBron James and
- 33:39Marcus Smart, I want Marcus.
- 33:41Yeah, because he just the role he fit and LeBron showed all
- 33:46the roles you can fit but I'm listen this as a Laker fan thinking
- 33:50of it as as Lucas team at this point.
- 33:52I am.
- 33:52I know what you mean as a Laker fan.
- 33:54I will be perfectly happy with LeBron coming back and dive up
- 33:57but I've also freely admitted for years.
- 33:59I have not liked the LeBron Lakers until this last year.
- 34:03This was the first time I really enjoyed if you guys could
- 34:06get stuff.
- 34:09I'm getting I'm getting I'm good.
- 34:10That's not happening as I have it.
- 34:11You can't say I'm good.
- 34:13I mean, come on.
- 34:14He's fucking stuff.
- 34:15Yeah, of course.
- 34:15I'll take what are you talking about?
- 34:17It's not like going to entertain.
- 34:18I'm not going to go.
- 34:19I'm not going to go after him, but I'm there's a part of me
- 34:22that's going like if we get LeBron back, great.
- 34:23It's going to be a price tag for a 42 year old guy that does
- 34:26worry me on Jalen Brown.
- 34:27He seems to be up for grabs actually.
- 34:29Yes.
- 34:30I would fucking love to have Jalen Brown.
- 34:32You want you want to give him up?
- 34:33Give him over to me.
- 34:34I really don't.
- 34:35Yeah.
- 34:35Well, you guys are putting yourself in a weird spot, but I'm
- 34:39also kind of today was the first day with all this warrior
- 34:43talk and all the speculation and seeing the overtime that
- 34:47Rich Paul's doing.
- 34:48I'm just kind of going like, you know what?
- 34:51We just got back Austin Reaves.
- 34:53We got Luca.
- 34:54If LeBron really wants to leave and play the games, let him
- 34:56do that at the end of the day.
- 34:58We have to rip this band-aid off.
- 34:59No matter what.
- 35:00Yeah, whether it's this year the following year the following
- 35:02year after that.
- 35:03We have to do it.
- 35:04So fucking maybe you can't recreate LeBron in the aggregate,
- 35:08but maybe you can get so much fucking depth to build around
- 35:11these two cats and maybe get that big man and really fucking
- 35:14get some defensive fucking wizards.
- 35:16Yeah that you keep telling me that you can get hey, listen,
- 35:21maybe it is time.
- 35:23Maybe yeah, I don't know.
- 35:25I think it requires better basketball minds than me because
- 35:28I'm still in fan brain, but I'm also seeing the possibility
- 35:31of what the future is Fisher, you know, I think he can help
- 35:33with that.
- 35:34He does and he does any any kind of paints.
- 35:36He does do a good job of painting both sides, but but he
- 35:38also freely admits recreating LeBron the aggregate is not
- 35:43a yeah, it's it's a it's a it's in on paper.
- 35:47It's a thing.
- 35:47It's but in one man, it's not a thing especially when you
- 35:50consider that like pre LeBron the Lakers weren't just ineffective
- 35:55and like a bad team.
- 35:56No.
- 35:56No, he was in re-legitimized him.
- 35:58It was like a they were losing ratings kind of like it was
- 36:04a this was it was the worst era in the history of the Lakers
- 36:07as an organization.
- 36:08This is why I don't like Lamar ball era LeVar both.
- 36:13No, I've heard all the marble.
- 36:14Sorry.
- 36:15I like Mark Burton so much.
- 36:16I'm sorry, but you think everybody named LeVar is Lamar.
- 36:19I just like the name Lamar more.
- 36:20Have you ever seen?
- 36:22Well, actually when I think of Lamar actually think of the
- 36:23movie Revenge of the nerds, which by the way, very problematic
- 36:26movie.
- 36:27If you watch it today, LeVar Arrington LeVar LeVar him.
- 36:30There's a lot of LeVar's but no, I'm just dude.
- 36:34He was so annoying because why is it so and it was so annoying
- 36:38at the time.
- 36:38That was the worst.
- 36:40What was it?
- 36:40Who was a right?
- 36:43Who was the he was dating Iggy Azalea and cheating on Iggy
- 36:47Azalea.
- 36:48Nick Ryan Swaggy P Swaggy P was doing it and then it was
- 36:51fucking he's fighting with his teammate who told Iggy Azalea
- 36:55like this was the Lakers before LeBron show.
- 36:58There was a solid four years.
- 36:59They were a clown show of true utter fucking chaos.
- 37:03Like I couldn't believe like it was honestly when you look
- 37:05back on it like people don't remember how bad it was because
- 37:09it was right post Kobe because the Warriors had stepped in
- 37:12to save your asses because if the Warriors hasn't been a
- 37:15dynasty in that spot LeBron on the you know from the heat
- 37:19to the calves and they saved the Lakers from being from being
- 37:23Delos first go around and he was so bad and he was awful
- 37:26that first go around.
- 37:27Yeah, so much so that the second go around with him was
- 37:30actually the great D low and I didn't I didn't think
- 37:34comparatively speaking.
- 37:35I didn't think he was great, but he I was happier of that
- 37:38version.
- 37:38I yeah, it was it was a rough time.
- 37:40So I'm very appreciative of LeBron and I'm not against him
- 37:45coming back, but I'm also aware there might be there might
- 37:49just be a different future without him.
- 37:52And I understand that and I I think that's I think that's
- 37:54valid.
- 37:55I just don't I the we're about to find out how good Rob
- 37:58Polank is.
- 37:58How about that or how shitty Rob Polank is?
- 38:01How about that?
- 38:01I think we might know that but that's not that's neither here
- 38:04nor there the before we move on from that there are and there's
- 38:09a new suitor emerged as sell this continue to put Jalen Brown
- 38:12on the tripod this time this time and it's this is rough.
- 38:17It is the trailblazers.
- 38:20Oh, fuck that.
- 38:21No, no, no, no.
- 38:21Come come come to Lake Lakers throw every throw whatever you
- 38:24got at them.
- 38:25Fuck it.
- 38:26Let LeBron go and let's go get Jalen Brown.
- 38:29So this is the thing is like there are certain Jalen Brown
- 38:32is not a player that you send to like wallow in Portland.
- 38:37Well, they did this good job today.
- 38:39Portland.
- 38:40Yeah, right.
- 38:41But like jaw you want to make Jalen deal with jaw.
- 38:45What do you what do you try to do?
- 38:47Maybe he can't get in trouble in Portland.
- 38:49Well, I mean, it's too weird for I'll tell you right now.
- 38:51If he's going to get in trouble, it's going to be with Jalen
- 38:53Brown.
- 38:56Oh, yeah.
- 38:56No.
- 38:57No, what I'm saying is he'll be like Jalen Jalen's like a
- 39:00angry dad compared to Jalen.
- 39:02So like here's the thing.
- 39:03Have you been watching some of his stuff lately?
- 39:05Jalen Brown's never heard of him.
- 39:09I'm talking.
- 39:09I'm not talking about a streaming.
- 39:11I'm talking specifically.
- 39:12Have you seen he recently was in Morocco.
- 39:14Yeah, that was a really Jalen Brown's a different cat.
- 39:19He's incredibly like like bookish and worldly like he there's
- 39:24a lot of interest that he has.
- 39:26He's a different cat and he loves to explore certain the
- 39:30world's philosophical concepts.
- 39:32Like he's a bookish nerdy guy and hello.
- 39:36I mean, he's a little bit ideological and he's a little
- 39:38bit egotistical.
- 39:40Yeah, but I like him like a lot.
- 39:42You know who you know who was like that fucking Kobe.
- 39:45I know Kobe was a fucking like he goes to school analytical, but
- 39:50he was worldly and book smart and like spoke all these languages
- 39:54and like kind of thought of himself as like a little bit of a
- 39:56Renaissance man and he was I mean that wasn't he was and and
- 40:02people loved it and hated it about him.
- 40:05But at the end of the day, it was part of it was part of me
- 40:08what made him so like cool and interesting.
- 40:10I'm glad you actually made that comparison because everyone
- 40:12you know how Tatum talks about how his guy but really the guy
- 40:15that's most like Kobe is Jalen Brown.
- 40:17Yeah, like a lot.
- 40:18That's a great read on.
- 40:19He just doesn't like try to kill his own teammates on the court,
- 40:21but that's that's a that's a mamba mentality.
- 40:23That's the mamba's of it.
- 40:25Well, yeah, it's not over yet.
- 40:26It won't it will never be Jason.
- 40:28That's I just I I will tell you this entire experience over this
- 40:32last three months of how your team and your guys have treated
- 40:35Jalen Brown and how I've watched now certain dipshits in the
- 40:39media try really hard to Mafioso Jalen Brown has only made me
- 40:44truly not only appreciate Jalen Brown more than I already did
- 40:48maybe go like it's making me root for this guy more than
- 40:51organizations and conglomerates combined.
- 40:54Yeah, I I really want Jalen Brown to fucking succeed in the
- 40:59worst.
- 41:00What do you want to do?
- 41:01I'm gonna sneak in another little mini media story here regarding
- 41:03Jalen Brown because I talked about this too is did you see Bobby
- 41:06Marx said on a radio show on Sirius XM.
- 41:10No, he reported that he talked to an NBA analytics guy one NBA
- 41:15analytics guy who said that according to the numbers Jalen Brown
- 41:19would be the seventh best player on any NBA team.
- 41:22And what yeah, and he went on to onto this Sirius XM and on the
- 41:29Sirius XM NBA show and said this and he was like so he reports
- 41:34this and then he says, you know, I disagree with this.
- 41:37I'm an NBA eye test guy.
- 41:38I think Jalen Brown's a top 10 player championship Keller blah
- 41:41blah blah blah right as if that's a fucking hot take the dude
- 41:44has an NBA finals MVP and here's you can tell me if I'm if you
- 41:49I'm not wrong, but you can tell me if you disagree with me.
- 41:52You can tell me if you're wrong.
- 41:57Tell me if you're wrong.
- 42:00Dude t-shirt.
- 42:01Tell me if you're wrong.
- 42:03We're making the come on.
- 42:08I said listen like you you simply journalistically do not
- 42:12go on to a radio show when there's a ton of misinformation
- 42:16and stuff around a player like this and say one NBA analytics
- 42:21guy said this one thing about Jalen Brown and so I'm going
- 42:25to tell you it and then defend it and then if you are going
- 42:28to do that because it's bad journalism and not everything
- 42:30that are every random person tells you is fucking journalism.
- 42:33You don't have to report everything one random guy on the
- 42:36trailblazers told you but like if you are going to do that
- 42:38what you do need to do is explain that analytics in that
- 42:42way can't be used to rank players one through seven on a
- 42:45goddamn Ross.
- 42:46You're I like about analytics nothing.
- 42:48No.
- 42:49No, I actually analytics.
- 42:50No, I like analytics.
- 42:51Analytics is been bastardized and bastardized and so many
- 42:56ways because here's the truth and this is 100% the truth.
- 43:00Based on analytics by the way, the phrase analytics doesn't
- 43:03mean anything numbers are numbers numbers are finite.
- 43:07You can't you can't change numbers.
- 43:09You can however combine and manipulate numbers to paint
- 43:13a false narrative really easily and it's not hard to do
- 43:17themselves are just like you're saying.
- 43:19They're just numbers.
- 43:20We put this we put this through an algorithm through an equation.
- 43:23Yes.
- 43:23This is the number it spit out.
- 43:24It's time for you guys decide what it means.
- 43:26Yes, you can interpret some numbers very wrong really easily.
- 43:31It's and we do you and all the time you're guilty of it.
- 43:34I'm guilty of it.
- 43:35You have to be really careful not to put confirmation bias
- 43:38into numbers all the time.
- 43:39It's almost impossible unless you are constantly aware of
- 43:43what the bias might be completely agree.
- 43:46I don't know what to say when people say the analytics say
- 43:51I usually turn them out immediately because you don't go
- 43:55on the radio and report what one random guy said to you
- 43:57as if it was as a person that's been on the radio now for
- 44:01I'm going to count the years officially like officially
- 44:03officially hosting my own shows from massive paid conglomerates.
- 44:09Eight years before that worked at Odyssey while playing
- 44:12for the Padres and Royals during the off seasons before
- 44:15that was just a caller and radio shows.
- 44:20I have been at least a paid member of the media while playing
- 44:24for about 15 years roughly.
- 44:27The idea of going on the radio and not one breaking down
- 44:32what the analytics are quote-unquote and then explaining
- 44:35why I disagree with them rather than just blankedly saying
- 44:38I think he's top 10.
- 44:39I disagree is just one to say it's irresponsible is a waste
- 44:45of my time.
- 44:46It is irresponsible and stupid.
- 44:48It's also just bad fucking radio.
- 44:51If anyone say the analytics say this what analytics which
- 44:55analytics?
- 44:55How are you applying said analytics explain the analytics
- 44:58analytics means numbers.
- 45:00So what are you fucking talking about?
- 45:03What numbers and how are they applied?
- 45:04It give you the context.
- 45:05He did say what the numbers were that he was using to decide
- 45:09that and it was like his it was really out of context plus
- 45:15minus versus loss.
- 45:18Oh, it was bad.
- 45:19It was bad shit.
- 45:20It was nice.
- 45:21He's a one of five players on the team.
- 45:23You can't know it was a public placement is a is also by the
- 45:26way, it's helpful, but it's also a lofty lofty stack.
- 45:30Also, I've always said this wins above replacement is a career
- 45:35stat.
- 45:36Yes, it tells you it paints a picture over 10 to 15 to 20
- 45:40years.
- 45:41It is not something where you can use these types of analytics
- 45:44in game by game or season to season in it in large part due
- 45:48to the fact that like it cannot be a snapshot of an individual's
- 45:52like impact and you know, like it's like we know the impact
- 45:57of Jalen Brown.
- 45:58He was so like I was really I guess I'll just say I was just
- 46:00really frustrated with Bobby Marks being like, well, you
- 46:03know, of course I I disagree with this like bitch, of course
- 46:06you fucking disagree with it.
- 46:08He was the NBA Finals MVP like you're not the hero for reporting
- 46:13something that shouldn't have been reported and then being
- 46:15like but I'm going to dispute it because I actually think he's
- 46:17a championship caliber player.
- 46:19No, you don't think that he is you're a fucking asshole and
- 46:23like he's probably a really nice guy quite honestly, but like
- 46:25these guys will go on television and radio and say anything
- 46:29and then be like I'm about to be the hero by disagreeing with
- 46:32the analytics guy.
- 46:32You didn't know who did you would never have known said this
- 46:35unless I told you and also who's the also like me blanketly
- 46:40saying a random guy that works that does or doesn't exist.
- 46:43I didn't say who it was.
- 46:44I didn't say the team.
- 46:45So so you just went basically you painted yourself to be a
- 46:48hero.
- 46:49Yeah based on information that is unverified.
- 46:52Yeah, I'm substantial.
- 46:54I forgot to tell you the best part Jalen Brown gets on and
- 46:57he sees the report and he pops back on Twitter.
- 47:00He's like like we're turning analytics is turning us into
- 47:03AI ball.
- 47:03This is bullshit basically was like called out Bobby Marks
- 47:06for even talking about it and Bobby got all defensive and
- 47:09was like I was just saying what I was told I was defending
- 47:13you know, and then Brian whatever the fuck his name is.
- 47:16He was hosting.
- 47:17It was like actually he was like he was just repeating what
- 47:20someone else said.
- 47:21Uh-uh.
- 47:22No, you deserve all the smoke that you just got from Jalen
- 47:24Brown because you you know, it's going to happen you Cody,
- 47:26you know this as good as I do for the next 10 years.
- 47:30We're going to get 55 fucking anonymous commenters on every
- 47:34post we ever make about Jalen Brown where they say he's
- 47:37basically only the seventh best player on an NBA team.
- 47:39So, you know, there's a way to do this.
- 47:41There is a way to do this, but you have to open up with this
- 47:43trace. If I were to do this exact thing, if I talked to a
- 47:46guy in the front office, I'd be like did you won't believe
- 47:48what some fucking guy told me today some fucking random
- 47:51guy some guy and I'll tell you he works in the league and
- 47:54that concerns me because this is his assessment.
- 47:57He brought out numbers and these numbers all freely admitted.
- 48:01It's an aggregate that he brought out.
- 48:02I assume he pulled it out of his ass, but he tried to make
- 48:05this argument to me and I normally I would have definitely
- 48:08agree with him because he's the expert right that he's the
- 48:11seventh best player in every fucking team.
- 48:12I cannot stress enough how insane this sounds to be.
- 48:15So I asked him to show me the numbers.
- 48:16I'm like, okay, that's interesting.
- 48:17But also yeah, this math ain't fucking mathic Jalen Brown's
- 48:21a fucking finals MVP and a championship champion.
- 48:24What are we fucking talking about here?
- 48:25Well, so that's that's how you can present that and then
- 48:28it's over.
- 48:29I mean and to be quite honest, but even that that's not even
- 48:33a conversation.
- 48:33I'm not even gonna lie even then it would be sort of
- 48:36journalistically unethical because at the end of the day
- 48:39unless you've heard if you started here if you that guy
- 48:42said that but then like two or three other guys said it you'd
- 48:46heard murmurings.
- 48:47You're like so this guy said this and I've actually heard
- 48:49a couple guys other guys from different analytics teams say
- 48:51that and I don't understand where they're coming from that
- 48:53right there that right there.
- 48:55You can report but like one guy one random guy crazy, but
- 48:59if I heard it three more times then then the conversation
- 49:01would start be like, okay now I've heard it three times.
- 49:03Now.
- 49:03Here's the thing.
- 49:03I still think this is batshit insane, but that being said to
- 49:06be these weird with what I want around the league.
- 49:09Yes around this but you know what and here's the thing but
- 49:11then my question isn't going to be show me the numbers.
- 49:14My question is going to be simply this why are these being
- 49:18why is this being said?
- 49:20Yeah, because if the numbers were really there we'd all see
- 49:25the number so you can tell me if you agree with the my
- 49:27conclusion that I made in the video, which was that my
- 49:29conclusion is that that we treat analytics as a juxtaposing
- 49:34force to the eye test.
- 49:35Yes, they do.
- 49:36They are not juxtaposing and they are not mutually exclusive.
- 49:39The reason we think they are is because we constantly use
- 49:41analytics the wrong way if they are being used and applied
- 49:44the right way the the eye test and analytics create the same
- 49:50story in the same narrative.
- 49:51They should be symbiotic.
- 49:53They're symbiotic and they there may be different things
- 49:55that we get from each one but because we misapply and misuse
- 49:59the numbers we think that they are antithetical if the numbers
- 50:03are antithetical to what you are seeing if that guy if whatever
- 50:06those numbers that guy pulled said Jalen Brown was the seventh
- 50:09best player on a roster.
- 50:11What should have happened in any smart and this is as this
- 50:14is for analytics and statisticians anybody with that job should
- 50:18have looked at it and said the this is this is a flawed metric
- 50:23to measure his input.
- 50:25We should not use it.
- 50:27That's what he should have decided.
- 50:28But instead he decided to do the opposite.
- 50:31That is a misapplication of the use of statistics and we do
- 50:34all those metrics.
- 50:35We do all the time.
- 50:35And that's why we think that they are a that they are an
- 50:38antagonistic force to the eye test.
- 50:42They're not and they never should be and when they are you
- 50:45need to slow down, you know, why though there's a reason it's
- 50:50it's it's I hate this.
- 50:51This is actually my least favorite part of this entire conversation.
- 50:55No, no, not you.
- 50:56Not the conversation.
- 50:57It's just the harsh reality.
- 50:59Okay, analytics were introduced in the game for a very specific
- 51:03reason and I don't think it was to make the game better.
- 51:05It was one to make the game more affordable and save money.
- 51:09The people that they brought in are not sports people.
- 51:11They're just money people who can't look at a player and
- 51:14understand why they're doing it.
- 51:16I mean baseball is really baseball is actually the original
- 51:19culprit of this entire conversation.
- 51:21It's all your fault.
- 51:22It kind of is.
- 51:22The analytics were almost a way to disprove that people were
- 51:28good.
- 51:29Yeah, that's why they were introduced money ball was not created
- 51:32to make a team better money ball was created to make a team
- 51:36more financially viable.
- 51:37And by the way, that's why it was created by the way.
- 51:39Great thing about money ball.
- 51:40I just saw to talk about this lesson.
- 51:42I'm glad you I'm glad you know this tick-tock.
- 51:43I have a feeling.
- 51:44I know exactly what this tick-tock is.
- 51:45Yeah.
- 51:46Did you also know this because I know that I've known this for
- 51:48years.
- 51:48I say my thing to make it sound cool on air.
- 51:50Yes.
- 51:50Okay, great thing about money ball.
- 51:53Why you love the movie so much is because it perfectly and
- 51:58purposely decided not to tell you that there are a bunch of
- 52:00really fucking famous superstar high-level players on that
- 52:05team that they left completely out of the story because it
- 52:07would have undermined the entire premise exactly money ball
- 52:12the movie which I fucking love everybody loves it great movie
- 52:16written by Aaron Sorkin.
- 52:17It's a little bit is such a fucking lie.
- 52:21It's a lie.
- 52:22I don't know what to do with myself.
- 52:25It's a lie that team had the NAL MVP Miguel Tejada on it that
- 52:31team had David Justice who they really worked really hard to
- 52:34make up out like he was some washed up has been crazy.
- 52:39They had David Justice.
- 52:40They had Miguel Tejada the league MVP.
- 52:44They had Eric Chavez who was a runner-up for the league MVP
- 52:47they had Eric fucking Burns in center field and they had
- 52:52Barry Zito the Cy Young Award winner Mark Mulder the follow
- 52:57the runner-up and the Cy Young Award award and Tim Hudson the
- 53:02other runner-up in the fucking Cy Young Award.
- 53:06How often were these names mentioned in the movie fucking
- 53:09zero?
- 53:10I cannot strip that movie truly made you believe that Scott
- 53:15Hattaberg carried that team for 20 wins crazy.
- 53:18By the way, Scott Hattaberg was a good ballplayer.
- 53:21He's not why they fucking were good the fuck was this movie
- 53:25it was as realistic as like draft day.
- 53:27I cannot stress enough Moneyball is the greatest lie that sports
- 53:32ever happened except for one thing.
- 53:34There's one line in Moneyball that was the one you love this
- 53:39you love to whip out a movie like one biggest truth that has
- 53:42ever been and it was when Tom Warner the owner of the Red Sox
- 53:46is meeting with Billy Bean you won the same amount of games
- 53:49as the New York Yankees and you spent 1 6th of their payroll.
- 53:54Yeah, that's what Moneyball is fucking figure it out people.
- 54:03Thank you.
- 54:04I'm glad we both saw that tick-tock and were activated by it.
- 54:07So I you would have actually you would have had like I've been
- 54:10saying this for years.
- 54:10I'm glad someone finally made a tick-tock about it.
- 54:12I definitely think you would have been like sexually attracted
- 54:14to Chris in this moment because I opened up the tick-tock and
- 54:16he heard it and he was like he started rattling off all the
- 54:19names that the guy was just about to say and I was like Moneyball
- 54:23is the greatest lie really like analytics.
- 54:26I've been thinking about this for you guys.
- 54:29That's why when people say the word analytics tune them out.
- 54:32They're not talking about analytics.
- 54:33They are it's pseudoscience is right analytics are we should
- 54:38just wrap this up by saying the best way to use analytics
- 54:41legitimately is for in-game probabilities for potential roster
- 54:45building.
- 54:45What are things going like what's going to make this system
- 54:47work the best?
- 54:48What kind of players going to make this all of the above and
- 54:51then as a like broad retrospective on where specific players
- 54:56match up across a career 100% that's it.
- 54:59That's literally fucking it nothing else.
- 55:01They're just hard numbers to help you make rational baseball
- 55:05basketball football decisions.
- 55:07That's what the analytics are the analytics are not about
- 55:11creating an aggregate to build a team.
- 55:14That's yeah, you use them, but there's also human error involved
- 55:19which by the way is roughly 75% of it like and like the analytics
- 55:23could tell you one point guard is better for a specific system
- 55:26than another but they can't tell you if that point guards going
- 55:28to get along with their teammates or how they're going to work
- 55:31with within a specific.
- 55:32You know exact same argument of having with people the Dodgers
- 55:35win because they spend money.
- 55:37No, no, I we talk about this.
- 55:38No, if you watch our show, you are just not smart enough and
- 55:41that's and I think that that's like that disconnect is really
- 55:46is is the toughest part because it's like hey, if the analytics
- 55:50tell you to go forward on fourth down, I feel you I understand
- 55:53that I get it.
- 55:53There's also times where you should ignore that by the way
- 55:55because you might not have the right guys there might have
- 55:58the right play and there are certain times where that is where
- 56:00somebody should be like genuinely ignore that but I'm glad
- 56:02you have it and the analytics cannot tell you they cannot
- 56:06tell you that miles Garrett having 21 sacks in a season.
- 56:13Wasn't actually that good also by the way, it's will never
- 56:16tell you that anything that tells you miles Garrett's actually
- 56:20overrated is not right.
- 56:23Yes, that's just not right.
- 56:25You want to know why because at the end of the day the outcome
- 56:28of a game the outcome of a player's output is is already there.
- 56:33We already know it.
- 56:35You can't tell me Jalen Brown didn't have a an impact on a
- 56:39game.
- 56:39I watched we don't have if it if the if the analytics tell you
- 56:44that miles Garrett's overrated you're reading the numbers
- 56:48wrong, by the way, it's a side notes.
- 56:50What what analytics have exist about how I physically feel
- 56:54in a particular game match anything say miles Garrett has
- 56:58a mildly tweaked hammy there are no analytics and maybe he
- 57:01hasn't even told anybody I didn't play a single game last
- 57:04eight of my years of my career where I wasn't in physical
- 57:07pain like you guys just don't know how much pain it's also
- 57:10just like there is a time and a place.
- 57:13There's a time and a place for this later on when you when
- 57:15you decide to tell me whether or not miles Garrett was better
- 57:18than like Reggie white or something.
- 57:20Okay, let's start looking at some numbers.
- 57:22We can run numbers.
- 57:23I would like to do that with but then we all see in a separate
- 57:25conversations about eras and we're going to talk about what
- 57:28what divisions they played in and yeah, exactly what quarterbacks
- 57:31were they facing and we're going to add it all up, but I do
- 57:33not no, no, no, no, honey.
- 57:35We didn't need that.
- 57:36We don't need numbers to tell me if miles Garrett's as good
- 57:38as we think.
- 57:39Thank you so much.
- 57:39Sorry.
- 57:39I have eyeballs.
- 57:40I can see how fucking good he is and also 21 sacks just didn't
- 57:44materialize.
- 57:45So yeah, that's it's it's a massive gripe in all the sports
- 57:48and yeah, you know what baseball is very much to blame for it.
- 57:51We we did it first and we are yapping so much.
- 57:54Okay.
- 57:54I do want to say this so headline to a three or whatever the
- 57:58fuck it is at this point.
- 58:00This is so quick, but I did want to say that I have a hot take
- 58:04about so the CFL is not going to allow its teams to sign Brendan
- 58:07Soresby in 2026.
- 58:08So this is the guy who was caught gambling $91,000 in college
- 58:13specifically while I was at Indiana got a wonderful Texas Tech
- 58:18probably paid judge to go ahead and give him a two game suspension
- 58:23which is not how any of this shit fucking works and everyone
- 58:27the people that are defending him or yelling.
- 58:29What about a second chance of which I've been saying over and
- 58:31over again.
- 58:32He's not in fucking prison.
- 58:33That's his second chance.
- 58:34Yeah second chance doesn't mean he gets to play sports where
- 58:37he affects the integrity of the fucking game.
- 58:39Also potentially the physical lives of his fucking teammates
- 58:43correct.
- 58:44And that's where my hot take comes in.
- 58:47I think that all these leagues who have gambling partnerships
- 58:53are like essentially jumping at the chance to use Brendan Soresby
- 59:00to clean their image up.
- 59:02Oh, yeah, they are and I think it's really interesting to watch
- 59:06because two wrongs don't make a right, you know, it's a very
- 59:08it's a very feel bad for the kid on that learned about this
- 59:10when we were little kids two wrongs don't make a right and
- 59:13the reality is Soresby doesn't need to be playing football,
- 59:16but I don't like them using him to sanitize their image and
- 59:19I find that really frustrating because I'm watching and they're
- 59:22like, oh we couldn't possibly sign a cheater.
- 59:28That is a very good thing.
- 59:29They are so excited.
- 59:31They're so happy that they got a gambler.
- 59:34They're so happy that they could use to sanitize their image
- 59:38just to give you a little extra.
- 59:39They're even more happy but with the same week they get to
- 59:41announce this as the same week as the Malik Beasley fucking
- 59:44trial is being this is all happening in one week period.
- 59:48See see how good we are.
- 59:50We're getting the NBA guy.
- 59:52We're not letting the football player.
- 59:53We got this.
- 59:55I'm shocked at the Cleveland Guardian thing hasn't been
- 59:57announced in the last three days to wait next week.
- 59:59I guarantee you in the next week.
- 1:00:00You're going to get that over there with the pitchers with
- 1:00:02the pitchers who got caught in baseball.
- 1:00:04Yeah.
- 1:00:04Oh, they're going to compile it all together.
- 1:00:06Major League Baseball is the good guy NFL is the good guy and
- 1:00:10the NBA is the good guy.
- 1:00:12All dude see the gambling apps are working.
- 1:00:15Yeah, it's working.
- 1:00:16Yeah, it's all working.
- 1:00:17There's nothing wrong on.
- 1:00:19Oh, you're so ethical.
- 1:00:21Dude.
- 1:00:21We got so we got this catch, you know, so that was I just had
- 1:00:27to name it because it's driving me nuts and also of course,
- 1:00:30you know, like we both agree on the other thing to like, you
- 1:00:32know, don't I don't need you to play playing football.
- 1:00:34He shouldn't be playing football.
- 1:00:35That is correct.
- 1:00:36That is the correct thing, but they're not do it.
- 1:00:38They don't care that Brendan Soresby could be a danger to
- 1:00:41anybody.
- 1:00:41They're not the good guys.
- 1:00:42Yeah.
- 1:00:42No.
- 1:00:43Oh, and by the way, I do think I that now is a good time to
- 1:00:46remind people that the NFL is like a sport that really wreaks
- 1:00:51Havoc on its players that lasts for lifetimes for an entire
- 1:00:56lifetime that affects families and Chris Johnson was he came
- 1:01:02on and announced that he has ALS.
- 1:01:04He saw that I saw that really and that is almost impossibly
- 1:01:09not related to playing football.
- 1:01:12Iconically one of the fastest players we ever saw the position
- 1:01:16iconic Titan and he plans on fighting it and I think it's
- 1:01:20just like another reminder that it's like this this sanitization
- 1:01:24and whitewashing of the things that they allow into the leagues
- 1:01:27into football specifically the NFL the CFL to the the stuff
- 1:01:32that they allow to happen to these players and they stuff
- 1:01:34that they let them get away with it, right like so both what
- 1:01:37happens to them the CTE of it all the the brain trauma of it
- 1:01:41all the body is being broken.
- 1:01:43Like you were saying your body just playing baseball was broken
- 1:01:45to hell after a decade.
- 1:01:47No, no, you don't seem to understand.
- 1:01:48I'm like, I try to tell people this all the time.
- 1:01:51Like I work out a lot like I work out a lot and keep myself
- 1:01:53in as good a shape as I humanly can and the reason why I do
- 1:01:57it is a couple of reasons one.
- 1:01:59It's routine.
- 1:02:00That's what I like it.
- 1:02:01I want to help.
- 1:02:02I want to stay in shape, but there's also an aspect that I
- 1:02:05I am very legitimately and I'm not kidding.
- 1:02:08This is I don't need anybody sympathy.
- 1:02:09I did it to myself.
- 1:02:11I am constantly in pain.
- 1:02:12Yeah, like there is not a moment.
- 1:02:14I'm not in physical pain.
- 1:02:15Yeah, my right hip is fucked.
- 1:02:17I have calcium deposits my right ankle and deficiency my right
- 1:02:21ankle that I can't flex my right ankle at all.
- 1:02:25I have a tear in my UCL that I never got fixed.
- 1:02:28I have three tears in my rotator cuff.
- 1:02:30I have a tear in my labrum.
- 1:02:32I'm just normal better and it's funny is all those injuries.
- 1:02:35I just mentioned are not even the most painful things.
- 1:02:38Those are the tears and broken things in me physically.
- 1:02:41I have a torn labrum in my hip.
- 1:02:43That's awful.
- 1:02:44It hurts all the time.
- 1:02:45I have to just do the best I can constantly stretch it constantly
- 1:02:49build around it.
- 1:02:50So I'm always doing certain exercise my hands and my feet at
- 1:02:55all times are in pain at all time.
- 1:02:57If I really sit here and stop to think my hands are killing
- 1:03:00I'm just kind of gotten numb and desensitized to it over years.
- 1:03:03I'm like way too empathetic for this.
- 1:03:05This is gonna make me cry.
- 1:03:06Oh, no, no, don't be I'm used to it.
- 1:03:08No, I got to do a lot of things and by the way, I'm like, I'm
- 1:03:14in a lot of pain at all times and I'm one of the healthiest
- 1:03:19guys.
- 1:03:20I know out of it.
- 1:03:21Yeah, I didn't get any major surgeries probably should have
- 1:03:23all my ankle to be honest.
- 1:03:25Clearly, I can't fucking bend it.
- 1:03:27My UCL and my elbow is fine.
- 1:03:29It's not a big deal.
- 1:03:30It's only 40% selling it now.
- 1:03:32I'm fine.
- 1:03:34And luckily my shoulder doesn't cause me a ton of issues.
- 1:03:37It really doesn't.
- 1:03:37It's not noticeable.
- 1:03:39Sure, but my hands hurt all the time from years of catching
- 1:03:42and throwing and yeah, I guess your hand constantly being a
- 1:03:46flex position.
- 1:03:47These hurt all the time.
- 1:03:48My feet hurt all the time from years wearing spikes like just
- 1:03:52they hurt.
- 1:03:53I never thought really like no one's ever really talked about
- 1:03:56that aspect of like what Cleet constantly wearing spikes would
- 1:03:59do to your feet.
- 1:04:00I've never thought I wore different brands to like some spikes
- 1:04:03were better than others.
- 1:04:04I bet they're better now than they ever were before but you
- 1:04:07know, I'll give like not that it matters.
- 1:04:09Not like Adidas is going to make more money because I'm saying
- 1:04:11this.
- 1:04:11I I had a Reebok deal for a couple years and they were awesome.
- 1:04:16I had the years of the Ziggs the most to this day the most
- 1:04:20comfortable spike I ever wore in my life.
- 1:04:23And then they gave up on baseball and I couldn't wear them
- 1:04:27anymore.
- 1:04:27Then I got a deal with Adidas and the deed is made really good
- 1:04:30spike.
- 1:04:30Okay, but I went to a couple of lower brands and not as great.
- 1:04:35They were fine.
- 1:04:36And that's the reason Cody's in pain all the time.
- 1:04:38Thanks for nothing.
- 1:04:39I am never fine.
- 1:04:40Well, so yeah, I just wanted to make that nice.
- 1:04:43They painted them.
- 1:04:43We are rooting for Chris Johnson.
- 1:04:46We are and that was I cried this morning watching this video
- 1:04:51I just I have a lot of like I cried everything actually everybody
- 1:04:55thinks I'm like a an absolute fucking hard-ass literally the
- 1:04:59softest person alive.
- 1:05:00I just have a hard exterior much like a a tortoise or of some
- 1:05:05sort, you know, but inside it's soft and old and wrinkly and
- 1:05:08that's me I so we have an option here because we have we have
- 1:05:14time for one more segment before we get to pop culture.
- 1:05:16Yeah, so you get to decide we can talk more about the
- 1:05:20a couple of ML MLB things that are happening in the CBA or we
- 1:05:25can talk about Emanuel Ocho saying the WNBA would be better off
- 1:05:28without Caitlin Clark.
- 1:05:31Both different vibes we've done a lot of you know, are they
- 1:05:35different vibes?
- 1:05:36How about this?
- 1:05:38I'd rather talk about Caitlin Clark today and I'll tell you why
- 1:05:41I feel like we've hit a little bit on the CBA and what what is
- 1:05:44happening so we will hold off because more is going to come
- 1:05:47It's not the biggest development.
- 1:05:49No, it's how about this Major League Baseball is incredibly
- 1:05:52evil and they're doing very evil shit and we're going to keep
- 1:05:55you in the loop and you guys should really every time that
- 1:05:57the players is so that it's every time that they Major League
- 1:06:00Baseball owners send out a proposal.
- 1:06:02You should fucking set it on fire and pretend it didn't happen
- 1:06:06because they're evil.
- 1:06:08I want to make this abundantly clear.
- 1:06:10These proposals are evil.
- 1:06:12They're so gross and evil.
- 1:06:13We will discuss on a later date because they're going to make
- 1:06:16more gross and disgusting and evil fucking proposals right
- 1:06:20now.
- 1:06:20Let's talk about Caitlin Clark is this is funny.
- 1:06:22Yeah, this is interesting.
- 1:06:23So Emmanuel Ocho has said yesterday.
- 1:06:29We were one of the few outlets that called looking for a quote.
- 1:06:32We couldn't even get a quote out of anybody's.
- 1:06:34Oh wait, this is not the run.
- 1:06:36How about this?
- 1:06:37This isn't the right thing.
- 1:06:39Okay.
- 1:06:39Well while you're doing this, let me the context of everything
- 1:06:41of course in case you guys have missed it.
- 1:06:42Caitlin Clark has been getting bullied in the WMBA.
- 1:06:45Yeah, he was quoting Dan Patrick.
- 1:06:47So what happened was like Dan Patrick revealed on his show that
- 1:06:51he could not get a quote from the WMBA after the whole Alyssa
- 1:06:54Thomas Caitlin Clark thing.
- 1:06:55So that whole thing happened.
- 1:06:57He was like, this is really like unprofessional of the WMBA was
- 1:07:01felt a little bit weird like okay, Dan Patrick.
- 1:07:03So you couldn't get a quote from WMBA.
- 1:07:04I didn't know you were reaching out for quotes all the time, but
- 1:07:06that's fine into that vacuum stepped Ocho who made the case on
- 1:07:10his speakeasy show that Clark has become more trouble for the WMBA
- 1:07:13than she's worth the W at this Junction in time would be better
- 1:07:16without Caitlin Clark because she is a bigger distraction than she
- 1:07:19is an additive Caitlin Clark has gotten the WMBA over the necessary
- 1:07:23threshold.
- 1:07:24They needed now people are watching now.
- 1:07:26We realize oh, there's talent in the W.
- 1:07:28There's talent.
- 1:07:29That's actually even greater than Caitlin Caitlin got the necessary
- 1:07:31eyes here.
- 1:07:32But now the eyes that the eyes are there.
- 1:07:34We don't necessarily need her anymore.
- 1:07:35Now, I I'm going to say this very specifically this.
- 1:07:41This is extremely misogynistic.
- 1:07:45It is so misogynistic that we cannot we cannot ignore this.
- 1:07:49The reality is Ocho has spent the last few years being racist and
- 1:07:55sexist to the black women in that League.
- 1:07:57He is occasionally given other players credit.
- 1:08:01He's given Kelsey Mitchell credit on the fever.
- 1:08:03He has said that that Caitlin Clark has to be more more physical and
- 1:08:08has to deal with the physicality and she has to improve her game and
- 1:08:10he has also said that essentially like, you know that he doesn't think
- 1:08:15that she is the reason for this but that his their fans are toxic.
- 1:08:18So by definition, but you are by comparison.
- 1:08:21He's not the worst person in mainstream media.
- 1:08:24That's been talking about Caitlin Clark, but he is not the bar is in
- 1:08:27hell and he's barely clearing it.
- 1:08:29So here's the thing.
- 1:08:30This shit the idea I has anybody in your life critiqued Caitlin Clark
- 1:08:36more than I have no probably not at the end of the day.
- 1:08:39This bullshit is so misogynistic and so pathetic and the idea that he
- 1:08:43finally appreciates the W enough that he doesn't need Caitlin Clark because
- 1:08:46she's a distraction means that rather than dealing with exactly what it is.
- 1:08:51That's making Caitlin Clark such a polarizing figure.
- 1:08:53He'd rather not deal with it because you know what would happen if he had to
- 1:08:56deal with it.
- 1:08:56He'd have to recognize the fact that he's been fucking misogynistic to black
- 1:09:01women that he's been fucking sexist and misogynistic across the course of his
- 1:09:04career and he would have to understand exactly what the nuances are at play
- 1:09:08that make Caitlin such a polarizing figure to begin with but instead he
- 1:09:12would rather see Caitlin Clark ousted from the league, which is absolutely
- 1:09:18insane.
- 1:09:18It is nuts to me that someone would admit out loud.
- 1:09:21I'd rather this person not exist in the WN the NBA than for me to have to
- 1:09:25deal with the nuance of exactly what her presence in it and and her polarizing
- 1:09:31presence in the space means for not only basketball not only women's basketball
- 1:09:36not only fandom but for me as an analyst.
- 1:09:39I'd rather she be gone.
- 1:09:42I feel like I'm living in the dumbest fucking timeline that's ever could have
- 1:09:47existed.
- 1:09:48I don't know what happened to the world.
- 1:09:51We've always been like this.
- 1:09:52I guess so.
- 1:09:52I just have more mics.
- 1:09:53I guess so.
- 1:09:54We got more mics more cameras.
- 1:09:55We got mocha over there running the boards.
- 1:09:57Yeah, you know, everybody's got nothing that is.
- 1:09:59Yeah, nothing matters.
- 1:10:00Everybody's got a goddamn mocha and they think that they're out there saying
- 1:10:03the thing.
- 1:10:03So
- 1:10:07mocha does any of this shit make sense to you?
- 1:10:12No, thank you.
- 1:10:13Has it ever has it ever made sense to you?
- 1:10:17Yep.
- 1:10:17It never will.
- 1:10:19No mocha.
- 1:10:20Mocha is growing up in the darkest timeline.
- 1:10:22Yeah.
- 1:10:22Yes.
- 1:10:23Mocha is just about a decade younger than us.
- 1:10:25We live the life.
- 1:10:26We're shit almost in normal 90s.
- 1:10:29Like mocha doesn't really remember 9-11.
- 1:10:32Yeah, like he's living in the darkest timeline.
- 1:10:35Okay, you should have seen what we were like, like we were fucking great.
- 1:10:39We there was a time where we're great.
- 1:10:41It was the 90s.
- 1:10:42It was we were really great.
- 1:10:43We were so we were still everybody was still racist, but they weren't allowed
- 1:10:47to say it out loud about it.
- 1:10:50They fucking were hidden like neo-nazis are really shamed into a corner and
- 1:10:56they never came out.
- 1:10:57They were it was fucking great to be clear.
- 1:10:59They were hidden from fellow white people.
- 1:11:01The black people always knew they were that's fair and they should have
- 1:11:03fluid us in a little bit.
- 1:11:06Yeah, we did a lot of us didn't listen.
- 1:11:08You tell us some of us didn't listen very well.
- 1:11:10And I think about it.
- 1:11:11You're right.
- 1:11:12Here's the deal.
- 1:11:18I'm trying to think how I can really start this conversation.
- 1:11:21I think I started it.
- 1:11:21You just have to continue it.
- 1:11:25We are the dumbest fucks that ever existed when it comes specifically to
- 1:11:29Katelyn Clark and the W we truly cannot have a nuanced conversation about
- 1:11:35her.
- 1:11:37I don't I'm starting to actually ask why I really want to know.
- 1:11:42I'm at the point where like the racism of it in the misogynistic at nature
- 1:11:46of it at this point doesn't even make sense anymore because well, did it
- 1:11:50make sense before?
- 1:11:51No, no, no, like it's like because it was a part of it where this is like
- 1:11:54I always understood the races.
- 1:11:55Oh, no, it's because it like there's a weird Venn diagram.
- 1:11:58That's so weird because the people that fucking hate women's sports are in
- 1:12:01a very specific bubble right?
- 1:12:02Those same people love Katelyn Clark.
- 1:12:05That's fucking weird just to begin with just to begin with this doesn't make
- 1:12:10sense.
- 1:12:10So this part of the Venn diagram, which is just one fucking circle doesn't
- 1:12:14fucking make sense doesn't make sense.
- 1:12:17So it's the rest of the Venn diagram is over here bunch of fucking people
- 1:12:23love the W and then there's W this Venn diagram aspect that just doesn't like
- 1:12:27Katelyn Clark.
- 1:12:31But it's this part of the Venn diagram that really bothers me which one the
- 1:12:36one that doesn't like women at all, but likes Katelyn Clark.
- 1:12:40Oh, well, I mean, you know, I know but doesn't make sense because it's
- 1:12:45counterproductive counteractive to their initial point.
- 1:12:48Well, so the thing that is that is really gaslighting about bigotry is
- 1:12:53that it is inherently anti-intellectual but they're like picking something
- 1:12:57they're already on this one.
- 1:12:58You're never going to find a racist or a sexist that gives you a like normal
- 1:13:03and intellectual reason for it because it is by nature inherently anti-intellectual.
- 1:13:07But they're the same person.
- 1:13:09It's the same person though.
- 1:13:10What don't you understand about anti-intellectual?
- 1:13:11I know but it's the same person.
- 1:13:13Okay.
- 1:13:14Have you you've dealt with anti-Semitism?
- 1:13:16A lot.
- 1:13:17You understand how there's no intellectual.
- 1:13:20There's not there's when you deal with bigotry.
- 1:13:24There's not a reason for it.
- 1:13:26The people that are white knighting very specifically for Caitlin Clark
- 1:13:30like white knighting in a way where we're putting in fucking federal bills
- 1:13:33to protect the white girl who's being bullied in the WNBA because she's
- 1:13:38apparently the only white girl in the WNBA.
- 1:13:42She isn't.
- 1:13:45They hate her though because she's a woman.
- 1:13:50Right?
- 1:13:50That's sexist.
- 1:13:51That's misogyny.
- 1:13:52I know but they're also lover.
- 1:13:54Yeah, they also have like wives and daughters that they say.
- 1:13:57I am so I don't understand.
- 1:13:59I just how about it?
- 1:13:59I don't understand.
- 1:14:00You just don't understand the size.
- 1:14:01Don't understand this.
- 1:14:04Do you think every misogynist like doesn't have women that they supposedly
- 1:14:07claim?
- 1:14:08They love that's the whole insidiousness of it.
- 1:14:11I racist have black friends like you do know this the whole thing is that
- 1:14:16is it is an anti-intellectual exercise because realistically nobody can
- 1:14:21exist in a world where those two things could exist simultaneously unless
- 1:14:25you are being into intellectual unless you are like that's what bigotry is
- 1:14:30all these people who don't watch the W never watch the W and hate women's
- 1:14:34sports.
- 1:14:37Are the only ones that are in this camp.
- 1:14:40That's the thing that I just that's where I that's where I don't understand
- 1:14:43and then the idiots that are fucking see this group.
- 1:14:48They see this group because this group is loud.
- 1:14:51I don't think this group is even fucking that big.
- 1:14:53I think they're just the loudest ones.
- 1:14:55They're getting smaller.
- 1:14:56We talked about this and they're getting smaller by the fucking day, but
- 1:14:59they're still loud because I feel like they're pretty big because they did
- 1:15:03affect readings in some way they did.
- 1:15:04But now I feel like they're just loud and I feel like they're getting loud
- 1:15:08because they're going extinct.
- 1:15:09Yeah, so they're screaming out as they die out.
- 1:15:13Yeah falling into them, but the problem is there are people in this part of
- 1:15:16the Venn diagram who will entertain it because they'll put it on TV and get
- 1:15:21clicks and they're basically keeping these people resuscitated on life
- 1:15:27support.
- 1:15:27Yeah, and I fucking don't get it.
- 1:15:31I just don't get it.
- 1:15:33You want to know something crazy?
- 1:15:35You know who who turned tide who jumped ship on the Caitlin Clark bandwagon
- 1:15:39who's that who's who's turned on her and is sick of her shit.
- 1:15:43Jason Whitlock.
- 1:15:46So that is my theory about why we got this from Emanuel.
- 1:15:51I must be shifting.
- 1:15:53I think Emanuel Acho said one thing I can't do is be to the right and the
- 1:15:57extreme of Jason Whitlock.
- 1:15:59So it's now time for me to figure out how I can do this without actually
- 1:16:02apologizing to black women and so his his way of not apologizing to the
- 1:16:07black women.
- 1:16:07He was racist and sexist to was to say we got to get rid of Caitlin Clark
- 1:16:13rather than own his shit.
- 1:16:15I can't think of a more cowardly sports take in in recent memory.
- 1:16:22Guys, there is a realistic nature about Caitlin Clark.
- 1:16:25Here's the realistic nature.
- 1:16:26She came in at a massive boom.
- 1:16:28She came in with an outrageous an outrageous amount of momentum as being
- 1:16:32the best call one of if not the best college player at the time one of at
- 1:16:36the time she was the first one the first overall pick.
- 1:16:39Yeah.
- 1:16:39Yeah, absolutely and coming in to a massive boot and doing really good
- 1:16:43stuff and getting a lot of ratings.
- 1:16:45It was phenomenal stuff.
- 1:16:46And yes, it was must watch television.
- 1:16:48Yes, there were other stars that were in the league already and there have
- 1:16:51been other stars since that Caitlin Clark has been for the majority of
- 1:16:54the last two years injured.
- 1:16:55So we haven't seen a whole lot of Caitlin Clark in the last couple of
- 1:16:58years.
- 1:16:59I hope she lives up to the hype that she is playing plenty this year.
- 1:17:02She has been this year.
- 1:17:03Yes, that being said like the amount of overreaction to Caitlin Clark on
- 1:17:10every single aspect never has not made an ounce of sense to me.
- 1:17:15I've never really seen another player like get so much credit for just
- 1:17:18like be it's like yeah, yeah, she boosted the profile.
- 1:17:21I've I remember when player you they've talked a lot about like there
- 1:17:25are certain booms and busts.
- 1:17:26We've talked about this in MLB.
- 1:17:27Like there are certain players in in Major League Baseball that saved
- 1:17:30Major League Baseball ratings and save like after you know, a hundred
- 1:17:33years of existing by the way in the 90s.
- 1:17:36Those two players were Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa two guys who have
- 1:17:39been basically like banished from being even talked well of yeah,
- 1:17:43like literally you're not even allowed to like speak of them as good
- 1:17:45baseball player.
- 1:17:46Yeah, like it's just I just don't understand the course of over the
- 1:17:49course of history.
- 1:17:50There's been a lot of reasons for what you know in the case of baseball
- 1:17:54it was it was steroids that brought people back in it was in the case
- 1:17:58of the WNBA.
- 1:17:59It was racism.
- 1:18:01They we are a complicated fucking society.
- 1:18:03We can we all truths, you know, can multiple truths can exist at once
- 1:18:08and the reality is Kellen Clark was a was a really good college player
- 1:18:12who is now maybe one of the best of that.
- 1:18:14I got to watch I thought every single fucking I mean every woman who
- 1:18:19said like she's gonna have an adjustment period in the NBA and the WNBA
- 1:18:23were like lambasted for even insinuating that she might have an adjustment
- 1:18:27period and now we're watching her like not be able to handle the physicality
- 1:18:30and and that is like I want I the idea that the solution is to oust the
- 1:18:37problem rather than get to the source of the issue is so frustrating to
- 1:18:41me the idea that his solution is like hey, what if we pretended Caitlin
- 1:18:46Clark never happened?
- 1:18:47No.
- 1:18:47No, there's no going back time for you to talk about why the fuck you
- 1:18:50were so racist and sexist to the black women in that league and the
- 1:18:53black women fans, but I'll go back a step further.
- 1:18:56You have the solution.
- 1:18:57There isn't one there isn't even a fucking problem.
- 1:18:59There is this.
- 1:19:00Oh, there's a problem.
- 1:19:01No, the problem is how this is being covered at this point.
- 1:19:04That's the problem.
- 1:19:05Oh, no, no.
- 1:19:05What's the problem?
- 1:19:06Oh, no.
- 1:19:07The problem without you is a big problem.
- 1:19:08Oh, no.
- 1:19:09There's a huge problem like with like cultural issue with the WNBA and
- 1:19:13the way that they've handled Caitlin Clark.
- 1:19:14Like it's bad.
- 1:19:15Oh, they've handled King Clark horribly.
- 1:19:16They're like I don't live horribly from the get-go.
- 1:19:18They're pussy-footing around the non-stop that the flagrant to on
- 1:19:22Alyssa Thomas is like historically pretty bad that them allowing the
- 1:19:27fever to put out the the press the press release that they did regarding
- 1:19:31Caitlin Clark safety.
- 1:19:33That was a fucking joke.
- 1:19:34So now they've got the Mercury's coach Nate coming out and saying are
- 1:19:37you fucking kidding?
- 1:19:38It's a fucking job to defend Alyssa Thomas.
- 1:19:40It's a fucking job even within the league Caitlin Clark and the way that
- 1:19:44she's being officiated and the way that people are responding to the way
- 1:19:47she's being officiated and the way that other people are responding her
- 1:19:49to her lack of officiating has caused a real fucking problem, you know,
- 1:19:52and so it is now beyond the media and it really has been I mean since
- 1:19:56her first year in the league women have been saying I've never seen
- 1:19:59racism like this guys.
- 1:20:01They've been saying it multiple players.
- 1:20:04Alyssa Thomas was one of them.
- 1:20:05By the way, Alyssa Thomas was one of the players who said I have never
- 1:20:08experienced this kind of stuff.
- 1:20:09We have to get it under control.
- 1:20:11We're here.
- 1:20:11We are in year three and she's being used as a as a poster child for
- 1:20:16racist.
- 1:20:17It's like this is not just the media.
- 1:20:19It's real now and it always was it always was so I don't know you I know
- 1:20:25you don't and that's and and I'm I appreciate that you don't understand
- 1:20:30that what would cause a person to hold that cognitive dissonance, but
- 1:20:34the reality is it's actually super important for you to like to know
- 1:20:38I know I see it.
- 1:20:40I just it in its existence.
- 1:20:44It is it's just mad.
- 1:20:45It's just say that it's hypocritical as an understatement.
- 1:20:48It is almost like diametrically against yourself.
- 1:20:54Yes.
- 1:20:54Well also like, you know, there's a there's a lot of opposing forces
- 1:20:58here the cognitive dissonance.
- 1:21:00It always takes a lot of blind spot and cognitive distance to hold bigotry
- 1:21:04in your heart.
- 1:21:05And so like there is a level of being mad, right?
- 1:21:08There's a level of being mad about it.
- 1:21:10That is fair and reasonable.
- 1:21:11And then there's a level of like you actually have to just like really
- 1:21:15investigate why it exists because the reality is Cody.
- 1:21:18There are people in your life.
- 1:21:20There are people that you've loved who have been awful.
- 1:21:24Yes, I've been misogynists.
- 1:21:26Oh God.
- 1:21:27Oh my God.
- 1:21:28Yeah, right.
- 1:21:28Who also had probably daughters that they support.
- 1:21:31Oh, no, no, no.
- 1:21:32I've watched them use it in a different way.
- 1:21:34They they justify their misogynist because they have daughters.
- 1:21:41That's not what do you mean?
- 1:21:42That's different.
- 1:21:43That's what I'm fucking talking about.
- 1:21:44Cody.
- 1:21:44That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:21:46That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:21:48Yeah, I know.
- 1:21:48That's all the stuff that you've been witnessing that you haven't fully
- 1:21:52like connected to exactly what those are just morons though.
- 1:21:56They're not they're fucking misogynist.
- 1:21:58Yes, but also stupid, right?
- 1:22:00But they think they're heroes.
- 1:22:03Cody, that's the problem.
- 1:22:04I know that they're stupid.
- 1:22:06The problem is that they're they are misogynistic and stupid.
- 1:22:09No, see that's where you're wrong.
- 1:22:11I look misogyny is stupid.
- 1:22:14They are both.
- 1:22:15They are one in the same stupid people are almost always bigots.
- 1:22:20You're you're that is true.
- 1:22:22You are very rarely going to meet a stupid person who's not also a bigot
- 1:22:25because it is a lowest common denominator belief.
- 1:22:28So like every time I and that doesn't mean that smart people aren't about
- 1:22:33saying I know a couple intelligent bigots.
- 1:22:35It doesn't mean that smart people aren't what I'm saying is that because
- 1:22:38stupidity is inherent to the whole thing.
- 1:22:41That's what I mean.
- 1:22:42And so fair, you know, as much as I appreciate the outrage, I think part
- 1:22:46of it is also just understanding that it is pervasive in a way that like
- 1:22:49isn't special to some sort of like like it's like you don't need someone
- 1:22:54out there being like women shouldn't deserve to vote in order to understand
- 1:22:57that they're misogynist.
- 1:22:58Well, you guys vote does cause problems and it will continue to.
- 1:23:02Yeah.
- 1:23:02I mean, I'm just saying if you're if we're being honest about it, I mean
- 1:23:09we are we're always being honest about it.
- 1:23:12If nothing else, I think that we've I think we've hit.
- 1:23:18I think we've hit our goal for today time wise on this show.
- 1:23:21Yeah, I think we're ending it on me giving you a little bit of a
- 1:23:24conversation about misogyny and that's a totally normal way to end the
- 1:23:28show.
- 1:23:29It's like, you know, I learned we've all grown.
- 1:23:32We've all grown in this show.
- 1:23:33We've all vented on this show.
- 1:23:35I learned what misogyny is.
- 1:23:36We you finally figured out what misogyny is.
- 1:23:39No, I still don't get it.
- 1:23:40Yeah.
- 1:23:40Well, you don't get it because you can't relate to it, but you do have to
- 1:23:43spend time recognizing exactly where it's happening all the time everywhere.
- 1:23:46It's happening all the time everywhere because those people suck.
- 1:23:49I just I don't know.
- 1:23:50I don't know what else to say.
- 1:23:51I know I live.
- 1:23:52I think I think the reason that I get my hackles up a little bit about
- 1:23:55that because it always makes it sound like you like if you get along with
- 1:23:59person or they're cool.
- 1:24:00They couldn't possibly be a misogynist and like it couldn't be further from
- 1:24:03the I get along.
- 1:24:04I've got along with a lot of right.
- 1:24:05And so it's like it's all like it's just it's just frustrating because
- 1:24:11like I think I think the idea that like that's bad.
- 1:24:13I became really good friends with a guy like really good friends and I
- 1:24:16found out he was a massive racist.
- 1:24:19Yeah, massive.
- 1:24:21That is theirs like massive racist.
- 1:24:24Yeah, and when I find you were like and when I saw it for the first time,
- 1:24:28I'm like, yeah, bye bitch.
- 1:24:29I know I fucking was fear.
- 1:24:31I was furious with myself.
- 1:24:33Yeah, you were like, how do I not spot the red?
- 1:24:34How did I not know that I missed?
- 1:24:36Yeah, I know.
- 1:24:37I know.
- 1:24:38So we'll say not exactly surprised.
- 1:24:40Ocho sucks.
- 1:24:41We kind of knew that.
- 1:24:42Yeah, he's just well, he's just bad.
- 1:24:43He's just listen bad at his job.
- 1:24:44It sucks at his job at his job and also just like a bad faith actor.
- 1:24:49I have a I have a big like listen.
- 1:24:51I try to keep my in my where I think my intelligence in a very relative
- 1:24:55spot.
- 1:24:56I have a big problem with pseudo intelligence.
- 1:24:59I have a big problem with people who actively try to make themselves out
- 1:25:03to be the smart guy in the room and they're not that's actually a bigger
- 1:25:05pet peeve than anything in the world.
- 1:25:06Curiosity is the best sign you could possibly get from somebody right
- 1:25:09with somebody who's like constantly sort of asking questions willing to
- 1:25:13have open conversations, whatever.
- 1:25:15If you enter into conversation with somebody and every single conversation
- 1:25:18they like absolutely believe they're the expert.
- 1:25:21They're arrogant all the time.
- 1:25:23That's a lack of intellectual curiosity that he exhibits in all the time.
- 1:25:27Yeah, all the time.
- 1:25:28And that's it's one of my all-time best biggest pet peeves.
- 1:25:32I like to know shit, but I like to actually know accurate shit.
- 1:25:35I want to know things.
- 1:25:36I want to learn.
- 1:25:37There's ever a time on this show where I come at you about a baseball thing.
- 1:25:41There's a strong chance.
- 1:25:42You're going to be like she must know something.
- 1:25:43I don't because she does not fucking come at me about baseball shit, right?
- 1:25:46Like by the by and large I defer to you on specific things.
- 1:25:49So if I come at you and I'm like, yeah, you're wrong on this.
- 1:25:52There is a strong chance that you're going to be like, whoa, and I will
- 1:25:55listen and I want to find more out because there's because we've earned
- 1:25:58trust in a space of being like, hey, we don't actually we're not always
- 1:26:01experts on everything because I like I like to know things but I don't
- 1:26:04pretend or claim to be an expert and everything.
- 1:26:07I jokingly claim.
- 1:26:08I have expertise in a lot of things.
- 1:26:10I do a lot of research, you know, a lot about a little and then a little
- 1:26:14about a lot.
- 1:26:15Yeah, but when you're an expert in everything, you don't know a fucking
- 1:26:20thing and you know, someone's an expert when they want to get rid of the
- 1:26:23most with the most talked about athlete and expertise, baby expertise anymore.
- 1:26:28Let me just talk about Asia Wilson.
- 1:26:29You guys are always mad at me.
- 1:26:30But all I want to do is talk about how much I fucking hate her chilling
- 1:26:34and say we had to talk about misogyny and you know what we should be able
- 1:26:36to talk about how much you hate her chilling because I in that you would
- 1:26:39be able to hold a beautiful nuance with hating him and also understanding
- 1:26:43that the bloody sock was real didn't happen.
- 1:26:44Fuck her chillin.
- 1:26:45Fuck her chillin.
- 1:26:47Like share and subscribe.
