- 0:49Speaker 4: Hi, dude, that was a fun eccent you had little happening.
- 0:53Speaker 3: It was a little, it was a lot. And then
- 0:55Speaker 3: I was like, oh, it's too much. I'm gonna tone
- 0:57Speaker 3: her down there.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I never feel that way, but I know you know
- 1:00Speaker 4: that that's my friend.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I do know that I love it.
- 1:03Speaker 4: I wish you felt that way ten more of the time.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Rop says, no, twenty thirty thirty. Yeah, that's fair, that's fair.
- 1:12Speaker 4: But I'm a you know, I'm a peacock. Wrop. You
- 1:14Speaker 4: gotta let me fly?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Isn't to let you fly?
- 1:16Speaker 4: That what Marky Mark says says the other guys. Is
- 1:20Speaker 4: that okay? Oh we're already having a good time.
- 1:23Speaker 2: How long are you sorry?
- 1:25Speaker 3: I am doing well. I thought of Adam Chance today.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I was glad that I had my dentist appointment earlier
- 1:33Speaker 3: in the day.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Because I had.
- 1:37Speaker 3: To get a filling taken out and then put back in.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Oh but they numbed me up and my whole left
- 1:46Speaker 3: side was just numb.
- 1:48Speaker 4: You should have just recorded a video just been like.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Well, like talking was fine. I didn't have that issue
- 1:55Speaker 3: at all, but I took a sip of water and
- 1:59Speaker 3: it was just all over my shirt.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Look the airplane guy here like it was a drinking problem.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly exactly. So I have that going for me.
- 2:10Speaker 3: And yeah, otherwise, I've just been trying to be busy
- 2:13Speaker 3: because today, the day that we're recording this is election day.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Yeah, election day.
- 2:20Speaker 3: And I didn't want to look at the news all
- 2:23Speaker 3: day long.
- 2:23Speaker 4: So we scheduled this today and I was like, oh, no,
- 2:27Speaker 4: I kind of want to watch the things. And then
- 2:28Speaker 4: I was like, oh, maybe this is good.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It is good.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Maybe I shouldn't be watching.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I remember I was with you the last election because
- 2:38Speaker 3: we were he drove back, we drove back from Nashville.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Holy cow, you know this thirteen hour drive from Nashville
- 2:47Speaker 3: because it was in the middle of COVID And yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 3: you hung out in your apartment and we watched a
- 2:53Speaker 3: bunch of news coverage.
- 2:55Speaker 4: That's right.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And yeah, it took him a long time to figure
- 2:58Speaker 2: it out.
- 2:59Speaker 4: It's so long. So it's like they'll be deciding.
- 3:03Speaker 3: It'll still be h Yeah, well, after we're done recording.
- 3:07Speaker 4: The positive is it sounds like a voter turnouts super high.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Sounds like, so that's good. I make your voice heard
- 3:14Speaker 4: either way. I guess like a lot of people voted,
- 3:16Speaker 4: so that's cool.
- 3:17Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I don't know I have I have opinions that I'm
- 3:20Speaker 4: sure everyone knows, but we don't need to get into
- 3:22Speaker 4: them here.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't need to get it.
- 3:25Speaker 4: What about movies? Have you been watching any movies?
- 3:28Speaker 3: But I did watch a new fun well it was
- 3:32Speaker 3: a new movie.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yep, I get it.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I went to Netflix and I watched the directorial debut
- 3:39Speaker 3: of Anna Kendrick called The Woman of the Hour.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Oh, I haven't heard a darn thing about this. Tell
- 3:45Speaker 4: me everything.
- 3:46Speaker 2: This was the film.
- 3:48Speaker 3: It's based on a true story. It's set in the
- 3:50Speaker 3: nineteen seventies about a serial killer who was a contestant
- 3:55Speaker 3: on the.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Dating game Oh god, okay.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and Anna Kendrick she directed it, but she also
- 4:02Speaker 3: stars in it. And she plays this aspiring actress who
- 4:05Speaker 3: gets on the dating game and so she's the woman
- 4:08Speaker 3: that's like asking the questions. Oh okay, And it was
- 4:12Speaker 3: a great debut for her, Like it was really well
- 4:16Speaker 3: made fun. Tony Hale plays the TV show host and
- 4:21Speaker 3: he plays he plays a real d bag in it,
- 4:24Speaker 3: which you don't see him do very often.
- 4:26Speaker 4: It's kind of yeah, I like that, and.
- 4:28Speaker 3: There's some other folks you definitely recognize. It actually starts
- 4:32Speaker 3: off with this kind of brutal scene where her friend
- 4:36Speaker 3: from the Pitch Perfect films and she actually used to
- 4:39Speaker 3: sing with Chris Rupp and Adam bestin Kelly Jakle.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:46Speaker 3: She she gets to flex some serious acting chops in
- 4:49Speaker 3: the very very first scene, like a lot of close
- 4:53Speaker 3: ups on her face and just like having to react
- 4:55Speaker 3: and that's pretty cool. It was intense, man, but yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 3: it's pretty good. It's it's only an hour and thirty
- 5:03Speaker 3: five minutes, so you're in.
- 5:04Speaker 2: You're out. You know.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I always love those love that I would say, if
- 5:10Speaker 3: sexual assault is like a big trigger for you, i'd
- 5:13Speaker 3: probably steer clear of this film.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Yeah that's fair.
- 5:17Speaker 3: But other than that, very interesting watch. And I would
- 5:21Speaker 3: imagine Anna Hendrick is going to keep directing after this
- 5:24Speaker 3: because she did a great job.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Yeah, that's cool. I feel like it would be so
- 5:29Speaker 4: hard to direct yourself, but maybe I don't know. A
- 5:33Speaker 4: lot of people do it, so maybe they figure it out.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah, just be difficult. I wouldn't be good at any
- 5:40Speaker 3: of those things.
- 5:41Speaker 4: I guess. I'm always giving myself notes anyway, so it
- 5:44Speaker 4: just depends on if.
- 5:45Speaker 2: The notes are good.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I didn't like.
- 5:48Speaker 4: What you did there, not at all.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Do it like this?
- 5:52Speaker 4: Well?
- 5:53Speaker 2: No, I guess I can't.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Yeah. I wouldn't be good at any of that stuff.
- 5:56Speaker 3: You're out, But if you're interested, it's on Netflix.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Check it out.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Cool.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Have you been watching anything?
- 6:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's actually a movie that you mentioned recently, maybe
- 6:07Speaker 4: on our VIP anyway, it doesn't matter. I went to
- 6:10Speaker 4: the theater and saw the new film Anora You did
- 6:16Speaker 4: I did.
- 6:17Speaker 3: I'm jealous.
- 6:18Speaker 4: It was really compelling this movie. I didn't know anything
- 6:25Speaker 4: about it going in other than what we had talked
- 6:28Speaker 4: about which was basically, I don't know anything about this movie,
- 6:30Speaker 4: and I'm kind of interested. The gal who plays Anora,
- 6:35Speaker 4: the character Mikey Madison, really great. She's super impressive in
- 6:40Speaker 4: this movie. And there's a bunch of bunch of other
- 6:44Speaker 4: people I don't know in this Yeah. The sort of
- 6:47Speaker 4: like elevator pitch for this is Honora is a sex worker.
- 6:52Speaker 4: She meets a dude that is the son of a
- 6:56Speaker 4: Russian oligarch and they have sort of a romance. It happens,
- 7:00Speaker 4: and it's all about the craziness that follows that. This
- 7:05Speaker 4: movie is way way funnier than I thought it would be.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I really enjoyed the comedic parts of it a lot.
- 7:13Speaker 4: It's it sort of was like a touch too long
- 7:16Speaker 4: for me. So it's not like a perfect movie by
- 7:19Speaker 4: any means, but it's it's really compelling, super interesting and
- 7:23Speaker 4: really funny, and I sort of was like scared it
- 7:27Speaker 4: was gonna be like a horror film or something. It's not.
- 7:30Speaker 3: That sounds like it's pretty indie.
- 7:32Speaker 4: It is very indie, and it is super intense at points,
- 7:35Speaker 4: but yeah, it's overall it's a super interesting movie and
- 7:39Speaker 4: it's it's a fun there's nothing else like quite like it.
- 7:43Speaker 4: It's got you know, homages to other things, of course,
- 7:47Speaker 4: but it it feels it feels nice, it feels original.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I don't know, I really enjoyed it. There is a
- 7:54Speaker 4: ton of like sex stuff in it, so the people
- 7:57Speaker 4: don't love that part. It's pretty like there's mature content
- 8:03Speaker 4: that stuff goes. Yes, it'd be one of those where
- 8:08Speaker 4: you're like Luise, oh gosh, you know, heavens, but it
- 8:13Speaker 4: was really good. I really enjoyed it. I was surprised
- 8:15Speaker 4: to hear afterward there's some buzz about like uh oscar
- 8:20Speaker 4: stuff like Afords. Yeah, and I I don't know that
- 8:24Speaker 4: get that, but it is really good, like I had
- 8:27Speaker 4: a great time watching it, So yeah, maybe maybe it is.
- 8:30Speaker 4: So yeah, I would recommend it for sure. I think
- 8:32Speaker 4: you'll enjoy it. Whatever.
- 8:33Speaker 3: The thing that I keep seeing from different like reviewers. Sure,
- 8:38Speaker 3: one thing that stuck out with me was one guy
- 8:41Speaker 3: said that it was it had the feel of like
- 8:46Speaker 3: Safty Brothers, like independent, really intense film, but instead of
- 8:50Speaker 3: all that anxiety in a Safty Brothers film, it's filled
- 8:54Speaker 3: with comedy.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Or yes, I think that's actually a really great way
- 8:58Speaker 4: to say it. So and genuinely like, I was like
- 9:02Speaker 4: tears in my eye laughing at several points of this. Sure,
- 9:05Speaker 4: and it's you know, I don't know, it's interesting, so cool.
- 9:09Speaker 4: It's worth checking out. Check out cool.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I'm glad to hear that you liked it.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Yeah, it was fun.
- 9:13Speaker 2: It was fun.
- 9:14Speaker 4: How about streaming things? Have you been streaming?
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yes? I had mentioned it when I started the show
- 9:20Speaker 3: a few episodes ago. But I finished the series Fight
- 9:23Speaker 3: Night the Million Dollar Heist.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Oh, that's right, while ago.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it's on Peacock. All the episodes were like almost
- 9:33Speaker 3: an hour, so it was it took a little bit
- 9:35Speaker 3: of time.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I think it was eight episodes, but.
- 9:38Speaker 3: This was the one with Kevin Hart and Don Samuel Jackson,
- 9:44Speaker 3: Karence Howard, Yea and even more people you'd recognize, but
- 9:49Speaker 3: really well done. It's in like little sections, so it
- 9:53Speaker 3: starts with the Muhammad Ali fight, then it deals with
- 9:56Speaker 3: the heist, then it deals with the retribution for the heist.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Everyone's really good in it. It's also kind of a
- 10:03Speaker 3: love letter to Atlanta as well. I was glad I
- 10:07Speaker 3: checked it out. I wouldn't be surprised if some of
- 10:09Speaker 3: these actors get nominated for Emmy's or Golden Globes and
- 10:14Speaker 3: yeah stars, it's like my first real series. I think
- 10:18Speaker 3: on Peacock that was you know, like just a peacock thing.
- 10:24Speaker 3: That's cool, and yeah, they went they went all out
- 10:28Speaker 3: for it.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Nice. I love that.
- 10:30Speaker 2: It was cool. What have you been streaming?
- 10:33Speaker 4: This is another you recommendation? I went rub heavy here
- 10:36Speaker 4: this time I watched Will and Harper.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Did you love it?
- 10:42Speaker 4: I loved this.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I knew you would.
- 10:45Speaker 4: One of my favorite things I've seen. Rob mentioned it.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I think it was just last episode maybe, But for folks,
- 10:51Speaker 4: if you didn't hear that, this is about Will Ferrell
- 10:54Speaker 4: and Harper. What's Harper's name? Harper Steele. Harper is now
- 11:00Speaker 4: transitioned into Harper, but was formerly a writer and Will
- 11:04Speaker 4: and Harper met each other when they started SNL. Harper
- 11:07Speaker 4: used to be a fella and has now transitioned. Like
- 11:11Speaker 4: I said, and this is a story about them going
- 11:14Speaker 4: across the country and just kind of navigating friendship, you know,
- 11:18Speaker 4: as things change in life, and this is a big
- 11:21Speaker 4: change obviously, but also just people change over time and
- 11:25Speaker 4: all these things. And it's beautiful, man, I really really
- 11:29Speaker 4: enjoyed its super funny obviously because they're both like really
- 11:32Speaker 4: they're both wacky, funny people, which is really fun because
- 11:36Speaker 4: it's cool to see at points like you know, Harper's
- 11:39Speaker 4: like you're my friend. There are no like I'll answer
- 11:42Speaker 4: anything you ever want to know about anything, you know,
- 11:45Speaker 4: like we're really good friends. I want to you know,
- 11:49Speaker 4: have this experience with you, and well.
- 11:51Speaker 3: And he knows, she knows that the questions that Will
- 11:56Speaker 3: Ferrell's going to be asking are like from a place
- 11:58Speaker 3: of love.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think that was a big part of that,
- 12:02Speaker 2: but yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 4: I loved and I loved that was one thing about it,
- 12:05Speaker 4: you know, just because like I haven't had that much
- 12:07Speaker 4: experience with people who have transitioned either, and just that
- 12:10Speaker 4: understanding of like, oh there's questions, of course, right like
- 12:14Speaker 4: all of us have where a friend can ask me
- 12:17Speaker 4: that and I'll tell them maybe I won't want to
- 12:19Speaker 4: answer it at that time, but it's different if a
- 12:22Speaker 4: friend to ask you that than if a stranger asked
- 12:24Speaker 4: you that or something. So I was like, cool, it's
- 12:26Speaker 4: cool to be curious, but also like, you know, there
- 12:29Speaker 4: are questions that are just not proper you know, or whatever.
- 12:32Speaker 4: But overall, I just thought like, as two human beings
- 12:36Speaker 4: sharing their spirits with one another and just being happy.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Like I loved it. I thought was super funny, super
- 12:42Speaker 4: touching and just really great. I don't know, it just
- 12:46Speaker 4: it warmed the cockles of my heart.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I really liked it a lot, so and you would.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you nailed that one. And there was definitely some
- 12:52Speaker 4: booze in there.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I dud I watched. I watched that one when
- 12:56Speaker 2: I was when I was sick, and it hit a
- 12:59Speaker 2: little harder. Oh yeah, guard was down.
- 13:04Speaker 4: It's just beautiful. But yeah, I really enjoyed it, and
- 13:07Speaker 4: that was Netflix, I believe. Yeah, so go check that out.
- 13:13Speaker 4: But yeah, what do you think should we do if
- 13:14Speaker 4: you plug runs?

- 14:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it's weird. I was like, oh, this is and
- 14:19Speaker 3: it would have worked great for the last episode too.
- 14:21Speaker 4: That was part of why I was surprised.
- 14:22Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, okay, I didn't even think about it.
- 14:26Speaker 4: So that's a good call. No good call by you.
- 14:29Speaker 4: So that'd be fun. Stick around to check that out. Also,

- 14:41Speaker 4: Stay tuned for that. It'll be so much fun. A
- 14:44Speaker 4: little movie game action. But we're here today to talk
- 14:48Speaker 4: about a great film from two thousand and four. It
- 14:52Speaker 4: is twenty years old. Somehow, we're here to talk about
- 14:55Speaker 4: Sean of the Dead.
- 14:56Speaker 5: Whoo.
- 14:57Speaker 4: And we had to, you know, we had to get
- 15:00Speaker 4: the guy who loves a cornetto more than anyone else
- 15:03Speaker 4: in the world does. He loves an ice cream treat.
- 15:07Speaker 4: And he's been known to live in a in a
- 15:10Speaker 4: little shed in the backyard more than once in his life.
- 15:13Speaker 3: So let's welcome to playing video games.
- 15:15Speaker 4: He loves it. Trying to nibble on his friend's arms.
- 15:17Speaker 4: He so give it up for the nibbler himself. Give
- 15:22Speaker 4: it up for Aaron heat box heating.
- 15:25Speaker 3: What's up? Box?
- 15:27Speaker 2: What is up?
- 15:38Speaker 3: We haven't had you on it so long.
- 15:39Speaker 2: It's excitement is in the air.
- 15:43Speaker 4: How are you?
- 15:45Speaker 2: I am doing good. I'm alive. I have goals and dreams.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I have friends and family. I have a computer. That's
- 15:55Speaker 2: all I really want. You look great?
- 15:59Speaker 4: Do look great? That's a nice hat. I don't think
- 16:01Speaker 4: i've seen that one before.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It's got dadley. Uh. I bought it actually as a joke,
- 16:05Speaker 2: and then I started to like it.
- 16:06Speaker 4: You know how that goes?
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, down that road. I was being ironical and now
- 16:12Speaker 3: I enjoyed it, and you're.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Like, but also I just kind of enjoy it. Yeah, yeah, sorry,
- 16:18Speaker 4: guess I don't know what to tell you.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yep, my bad, My bad.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Well that's fun. Uh well, you've been working quite a lot,
- 16:29Speaker 4: got the music game going, huh.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, crushing it all the time. I started a little
- 16:34Speaker 2: bit having a band in dancers, and it's been a
- 16:36Speaker 2: good fun time. And I even had a guy playing
- 16:38Speaker 2: my butler once at the Fitzgerial Theater. His name was
- 16:42Speaker 2: who was that? Oh?
- 16:43Speaker 4: Yes, guy was good.
- 16:45Speaker 2: He did a great job. I really liked to except
- 16:48Speaker 2: for the butler a bit.
- 16:48Speaker 4: But come on, we got a number of emails saying
- 16:53Speaker 4: that very thing. Sad. It was sad. It was just me.
- 16:58Speaker 2: A video concert is going to come out, like on
- 17:00Speaker 2: November thirtieth, and you're in it. Oh yeah, I forgot.
- 17:02Speaker 2: You're doing.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Well.

- 17:28Speaker 2: like on regular TV, and he was like, what in
- 17:30Speaker 2: the what it just changed? I was like, yeah, this
- 17:34Speaker 2: is an advertisement. He's like what he hasn't seen ads yet? Well,
- 17:38Speaker 2: you just watches streamy yeah stuff. Yes, yeah, that's a
- 17:42Speaker 2: good see.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I've forced my kids to watch the sports that I watch,
- 17:46Speaker 3: and they get constantly and that's the only time they're
- 17:50Speaker 3: like watching is when the commercials are on because they're
- 17:52Speaker 3: excited about it.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Which is fun. It's okay, yeah, Like but the purple
- 17:56Speaker 2: men and they're like, yeah, that's good.
- 17:58Speaker 4: I don't care about that.

- 20:10Speaker 4: It's so fun. I'm love that. You guys are you know,
- 20:13Speaker 4: getting that on the road a little bit more too.
- 20:14Speaker 4: That's fun.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I'm impressed. It's hard to do it's hard to do that.
- 20:18Speaker 2: It's a lot of you guys have a lot of people. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 2: it's like fifteen people.
- 20:22Speaker 4: It's crazy production. So it's worth seeing for sure. But
- 20:29Speaker 4: we're here today to talk about a lovely film called
- 20:31Speaker 4: Sean of the Day. We are yeah y excited about
- 20:35Speaker 4: and I think we should get right into it, Rob,
- 20:37Speaker 4: will you.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Get us started with just a rough synopsis?
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see how this goes. Sean is a thirty
- 20:42Speaker 3: somethingter loser with a dull, easy existence. When he's not
- 20:47Speaker 3: working at the electronics story, he lives with his slovenly
- 20:50Speaker 3: best friend ed in a small flat on the outskirts
- 20:53Speaker 3: of London. The only unpredictable element in his life is
- 20:56Speaker 3: his girlfriend, Liz, who wishes desperately.
- 20:59Speaker 2: For Shan to grow up and be a man.
- 21:01Speaker 3: When the town is inexplicably overrun with zombies, Sean must
- 21:06Speaker 3: rise to the occasion and protect both Liz and his mother.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Okay, all right, cool and.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah whatever, that was the well from Google.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Well done, well done, nice readings. Let's go to Rotten Tomatoes.
- 21:30Speaker 4: This movie highly acclaimed. Critics have it coming in at
- 21:33Speaker 4: a rock solid ninety two and audience members are one
- 21:41Speaker 4: tick above that even at ninety three percent, So this
- 21:44Speaker 4: is beloved.
- 21:45Speaker 2: It is indeed the five film. Yeah, which is interesting.
- 21:49Speaker 4: But let's find out what we think. It's time for
- 21:51Speaker 4: our hot take.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Hot take.
- 21:55Speaker 4: That's a hot take.
- 21:57Speaker 3: That's a hot take. The zombies, the bars on fire.
- 22:02Speaker 4: The bars on fire. Nice good one, good one. First
- 22:08Speaker 4: on this one. I like this movie a lot. It's
- 22:11Speaker 4: not what I've seen like a bunch of times, but
- 22:13Speaker 4: I've seen it a handful. I think it's a really
- 22:16Speaker 4: fun take on the whole zombie you know, zombie film stuff.
- 22:21Speaker 4: I think it's it is my favorite kind of like
- 22:24Speaker 4: horror slash horror adjacent movie in that it's very funny.
- 22:28Speaker 4: It is kind of gory, but it's not like super
- 22:31Speaker 4: duper scary. That's that's really my that's right in my
- 22:35Speaker 4: avenue for a horror film. I like him to be seely.
- 22:39Speaker 4: I think there's great comedy in this and I think
- 22:43Speaker 4: it it really plays off like the trope super well.
- 22:46Speaker 4: I love how Sean is a loser but also is
- 22:50Speaker 4: actually like kind of legitimately good at protecting people and
- 22:54Speaker 4: you know, being sort of a leader when he needs
- 22:57Speaker 4: to be. I think we all we all want, I believe,
- 23:00Speaker 4: will be Sean if like the pit's the fan, but
- 23:03Speaker 4: you knows. At least for me, I found myself identifying
- 23:08Speaker 4: with Ed like really more than I felt comfortable with
- 23:12Speaker 4: throughout the film. But I think it's just a really
- 23:15Speaker 4: fun movie that doesn't take itself too seriously while also
- 23:20Speaker 4: still being My favorite part about parody films in general
- 23:24Speaker 4: is the like the clear love that they have for
- 23:26Speaker 4: the source material, Like even if they kind of are like,
- 23:30Speaker 4: you know, giving it a hard time and razing it,
- 23:32Speaker 4: they're still like, clearly, I love these films. Edgar Wright
- 23:37Speaker 4: did a great job directing, as he pretty much always does.
- 23:40Speaker 4: I feel like the pacing of the movie is really
- 23:42Speaker 4: fun and great and yeah, so overall, I guess I
- 23:47Speaker 4: don't really have like a super hot take other than
- 23:50Speaker 4: this movie reminds us of the one universal truth, and
- 23:53Speaker 4: that is all the best friendships are predicated on fart jokes,
- 23:57Speaker 4: and I think that's the one thing we can all
- 23:58Speaker 4: agree on.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Bukes, it's a good one. No, I'm sorry,
- 24:06Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Oh, I'll stop doing it and you stopped laughing.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Yeah, such a good bit. But yeah, I really love
- 24:14Speaker 4: this movie. I think it's a good time. I don't know,
- 24:16Speaker 4: that's kind of the hottest thing.
- 24:17Speaker 3: That's a hot take, dude. I think this movie is
- 24:22Speaker 3: pretty great. And it's another one that I did not
- 24:25Speaker 3: see until many years after.
- 24:27Speaker 2: It was released.
- 24:28Speaker 3: That's about two weeks in a row. We're doing episodes
- 24:30Speaker 3: on awesome movies that I missed Initially. We did Galaxy
- 24:33Speaker 3: Quest last week.
- 24:35Speaker 2: And I didn't see that one until later.
- 24:37Speaker 3: But yeah, I just saw this one for the first
- 24:38Speaker 3: time last year and loved it so much. Edgar Wright
- 24:45Speaker 3: wrote this with Simon Peg. He directed it beautifully. This
- 24:48Speaker 3: is one of his first things he ever did. Did
- 24:51Speaker 3: some really cool things with the shots in this movie.
- 24:54Speaker 3: I particularly loved the long shots, like those one shots
- 24:58Speaker 3: from him walking from his apartment to the store before
- 25:03Speaker 3: everyone becomes zombies and then does the same walk when
- 25:07Speaker 3: he's hungover and everyone is zombiefied, and you can see
- 25:10Speaker 3: the differences, like he assumes the the guy begging for
- 25:15Speaker 3: change the day before is the same guy, not.
- 25:17Speaker 2: A zombie, and it's just it's hilarious.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I also loved how they teased the zombie stuff, like
- 25:24Speaker 3: focusing on Simon Pegg's feet when he's waking up and
- 25:28Speaker 3: like walking like a zombie and like easyy.
- 25:31Speaker 4: On and is like exactly that.
- 25:35Speaker 3: But yeah, Edgar Wright makes mundane things super interesting. So
- 25:41Speaker 3: like even him just doing getting coffee buttering toast, like
- 25:46Speaker 3: he does this like fast zoom, and it's just like
- 25:50Speaker 3: just it's always keeping you interested. The energy always stays up.
- 25:55Speaker 3: And yeah, there's just like no fat in this movie
- 25:59Speaker 3: at all. Like everything thing works. So the tone of
- 26:02Speaker 3: this film is super fun, very funny, it also gets
- 26:06Speaker 3: emotional in some in some parts, but there's always this
- 26:10Speaker 3: like underlying humor throughout everything. I thought the cast was
- 26:14Speaker 3: really fun. This got me, you know, Simon Peg, this
- 26:17Speaker 3: got him really big. And that guy is just awesome
- 26:22Speaker 3: and his buddy Nick Frost as well, Like, yeah, they
- 26:25Speaker 3: just their chemistry is wonderful.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I'm a big fan my hottest take.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I get that Nick Frost is into hip hop,
- 26:34Speaker 3: but we can't have him throwing up the N word.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I know.
- 26:37Speaker 3: It was like it wasn't a hard arm nowhere, but still,
- 26:42Speaker 3: like I don't even think that was acceptable twenty years ago.
- 26:45Speaker 3: So that was a big whoopsies.
- 26:47Speaker 4: That's interesting.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that came out of nowhere. To me, that was like, oh.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Yeah, there was no like lead up to it.
- 26:55Speaker 2: No, yeah, no, it wasn't like the culmination of a
- 26:58Speaker 2: bit or anything. No, it just it just comes right
- 27:01Speaker 2: out of the side.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Yep.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Oh no, okay, Well we could have just skipped that.
- 27:05Speaker 2: It doesn't agree what the movie.
- 27:08Speaker 4: We don't miss it anything, right.
- 27:10Speaker 3: But I'm just like, it's surprising because you know, we
- 27:13Speaker 3: watch a lot of these comedies and they say a
- 27:15Speaker 3: lot of really offensive things that you can't say no,
- 27:19Speaker 3: but this one wasn't acceptable back then.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Either, so it was very Yeah, it's strange.
- 27:23Speaker 3: That they kept that in, but that's really my only
- 27:28Speaker 3: my only critique.
- 27:30Speaker 2: So yeah, hot tick box, what you got, buddy.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Heat box with the hot take.
- 27:39Speaker 2: This is my second time watching this movie. I saw
- 27:41Speaker 2: it when it came out. I don't remember when, but
- 27:43Speaker 2: I liked it a lot. Twenty years I actually liked
- 27:45Speaker 2: it slightly less this time.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 27:49Speaker 2: The the slovenly best friend character. He just grates on
- 27:55Speaker 2: me so badly, and he's supposed to, so they're doing
- 27:59Speaker 2: a great job. I'm supposed to not like this guy
- 28:01Speaker 2: or whatever. He's likable, but he sucks. It's his character, right, Uh.
- 28:06Speaker 2: And yeah, the whole thing was good, and I do
- 28:09Speaker 2: really like the movie. But and I do like parodies,
- 28:13Speaker 2: especially where everything like, even though crazy stuff is happening,
- 28:18Speaker 2: everybody sort of has like a ah, you know, we'll
- 28:20Speaker 2: just whatever. Yeah, you know your best friend, you know,
- 28:25Speaker 2: it punches you in the face, whatever you figured out,
- 28:28Speaker 2: blah blah blah. And it's just I like that tone
- 28:31Speaker 2: of just yeah, that's kind of a modern tone, like
- 28:33Speaker 2: a Brooklyn nine to nine, or like a community tone,
- 28:36Speaker 2: or just like, yeah, total. You know, if someone says
- 28:38Speaker 2: something terrible, you're like, yeah, you know, well let's go
- 28:42Speaker 2: get some ice cream, and they're like and they're just
- 28:44Speaker 2: friends anyway. It's like this whole thing. But I do
- 28:48Speaker 2: love that was the first movie that I'd ever seen
- 28:50Speaker 2: where you it was a horror slash comedy. I was like,
- 28:52Speaker 2: you can do that, yeah, and it works really well.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I was like wow. And then like Jordan Peele, you know,
- 28:58Speaker 2: does that a lot now and it's really right, and
- 29:02Speaker 2: so I've seen it more now, but back then I
- 29:04Speaker 2: was like.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Wow, cool.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think I ever saw anything like that
- 29:07Speaker 2: back then. My hottest take is, yeah, I feel like
- 29:14Speaker 2: they made Ed just suck too bad. He doesn't barely
- 29:17Speaker 2: even redeem himself. Really, he just kind of sucks to
- 29:20Speaker 2: the end, which is fine. I don't know it. Oh,
- 29:26Speaker 2: Ed Jesus just a mooch. Yeah, So I guess that's
- 29:31Speaker 2: my hot take.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I buy that. I like the hot take.
- 29:38Speaker 4: That's funny.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Well, let's talk about some of these acting performances that
- 29:42Speaker 3: we liked, and let's pick the dude.
- 29:46Speaker 2: The dude.
- 29:48Speaker 5: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, You
- 29:51Speaker 5: know that or his dudeness or duder or you know,
- 29:57Speaker 5: el dude reno, if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Your favorite acting performance, box man, you know what, I think,
- 30:04Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Simon Pegg's mom.
- 30:08Speaker 2: She is awesome. Lton is her name. Sorry, thank you.
- 30:13Speaker 2: My favorite line in the movie is when they're pretending
- 30:17Speaker 2: to be zombies and taking acting lessons from the actor
- 30:19Speaker 2: girl and she goes to her and she's just staring
- 30:23Speaker 2: off into the distance and she's a great, perfect Oh sorry,
- 30:27Speaker 2: dear miles away.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 30:31Speaker 4: You nailed it.
- 30:35Speaker 2: She's my favorite. All her lines are great, and she's
- 30:38Speaker 2: an interesting character too, Like I don't really know how
- 30:41Speaker 2: to describe her, but she's overly everything's fine, you know,
- 30:45Speaker 2: everything's fine. I don't want to make a big deal
- 30:48Speaker 2: and oh, you know, just brushing everything under the rug,
- 30:52Speaker 2: which is interesting and it kind of explains maybe some
- 30:54Speaker 2: of why the main character Simon.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Is the way he is.
- 30:59Speaker 2: He's just kind of just goes I don't know, and
- 31:02Speaker 2: doesn't move on to his life or do anything or
- 31:04Speaker 2: take any risks. He just because his mom just sort
- 31:07Speaker 2: of just went oh no, no no, And so I don't know,
- 31:10Speaker 2: he just sort of became a nothing. Yeah, but yeah,
- 31:15Speaker 2: she crushes crushes heart in that movie.
- 31:17Speaker 3: She was great, she's great, she was really sweet, and
- 31:19Speaker 3: then you're just like, oh, she actually got bit.
- 31:22Speaker 2: That's a bummer. She's kind of spooky too, and she
- 31:26Speaker 2: finally when she finally up in the background too, it's awesome.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a fun one. I'm gonna take the obvious
- 31:36Speaker 3: one and take Simon Peg as Sean.
- 31:38Speaker 2: I am a big.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Fan of Simon Peg and I got it gotten into
- 31:43Speaker 3: it much later because I hadn't seen this, But I
- 31:46Speaker 3: just think his humor, his delivery is so funny. And
- 31:50Speaker 3: he had to show off a little bit with some
- 31:52Speaker 3: acting chops there, you know, when he has that heart
- 31:56Speaker 3: to heart with Bill Nye, who I love so much.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I think he actually like cries in the back seat
- 32:02Speaker 3: when everything's all crazy like that was really impressive, and
- 32:06Speaker 3: obviously when he's got to go after his mom too.
- 32:09Speaker 2: But I just think he's so funny. I'm a big fan. Yeah,
- 32:14Speaker 2: he spends about half the movie crying.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Yeah it is.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he's good. Yeah, great looking crier.
- 32:23Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a great crier, that's for sure. Well for
- 32:26Speaker 4: that very reason, if a man spends half a movie crying,
- 32:29Speaker 4: I'm probably gonna love that. Of course, is my guy too.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Kind of all the things you said, Rob, I thought
- 32:35Speaker 4: he was actually really good in this, both as like
- 32:40Speaker 4: doing the emotional parts but then also being sort of
- 32:43Speaker 4: like charismatic and loose the rest of the time. I
- 32:47Speaker 4: think he he walked to that line super super well,
- 32:50Speaker 4: that's really good, and like, I'm with you that when
- 32:53Speaker 4: he's sort of not realizing yet that people are zombies
- 32:58Speaker 4: and it's all happening around him and he's just kind
- 33:00Speaker 4: of hungover and stuff like, that's so great. I love
- 33:02Speaker 4: that so much. And he's perfectly oblivious to all that
- 33:06Speaker 4: and do all the things.
- 33:08Speaker 3: And that ladies in the backyard and they just think
- 33:10Speaker 3: she's so drunk.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Wasted.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yeah, when he goes to the convenience start and there's
- 33:18Speaker 2: blood hands on the drinks and he doesn't see it,
- 33:21Speaker 2: and he takes a drink and then he goes squeaky
- 33:23Speaker 2: and he like almost slips on what you assume is blood.
- 33:27Speaker 4: He doesn't notice, and he's like, no change today. I
- 33:30Speaker 4: didn't even have enough to pay the guy. I was
- 33:32Speaker 4: sure whatever. It's like, it's so good, so much. Yeah,
- 33:39Speaker 4: I'll pick that's a good one choice. Nice. Should we
- 33:43Speaker 4: pick up from those smaller parts? Should we pick our
- 33:46Speaker 4: too award we got for this one box?
- 33:54Speaker 2: You know, I'm gonna go with uh. I can't think
- 33:58Speaker 2: of his character's name. It's the boyfriend and that actually
- 34:01Speaker 2: loves Liz of the other girl, David Dylan. He made
- 34:07Speaker 2: me hate him a lot, which is his job. Again,
- 34:11Speaker 2: he sucks super hard, he did, and he crushes sucking.
- 34:15Speaker 2: He's awesome. He's such a whissy wimp. And when he's
- 34:19Speaker 2: gonna shoot Uger Bro, that's such a cool scene. Like
- 34:25Speaker 2: they didn't have to do that. He's still he already sucked.
- 34:28Speaker 2: But then he does that and you're like, oh my god,
- 34:32Speaker 2: you're the worst. You're the worst. You're you're good.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you're fine.
- 34:38Speaker 3: But it makes it so that you don't care when
- 34:40Speaker 3: you see him get.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Torn apart at all. Right, yes, guts out, let's see that.
- 34:48Speaker 4: I also like that. Yes he sucks, yes he's you know,
- 34:52Speaker 4: all these things, but like he is also right about
- 34:55Speaker 4: we gotta get you know, like we have to get
- 34:59Speaker 4: rid of Barbara, like because she's gonna turn and that's
- 35:01Speaker 4: gonna be bad, you know, Like.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but you can be cooler about.
- 35:04Speaker 4: It one hundred percent. But I just like movies that
- 35:08Speaker 4: aren't just like, you know, black and white in that
- 35:10Speaker 4: way they're like, yeah, well, you know, he's not wrong,
- 35:13Speaker 4: You're just an asshole, you know, like all those things, right,
- 35:16Speaker 4: you know, just like whatever. But I like that.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he sucked. That's a good one.
- 35:21Speaker 4: It was perfectly hatable. That's a great one. I respect it.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:27Speaker 3: One of my favorite actors out there is Bill Nyi.
- 35:32Speaker 3: He paid Philip he was his step dad, not his
- 35:35Speaker 3: real dad, and uh man, I mean that little monologue
- 35:43Speaker 3: he has explaining how he you know, he wanted uh,
- 35:47Speaker 3: what's Simon Pegg's name in this, Sean, It's Shawn of
- 35:50Speaker 3: the Dead.
- 35:52Speaker 4: I didn't know you. I didn't I was going to
- 35:55Speaker 4: look it up.
- 35:56Speaker 3: So he's explaining that he wanted Sean have somebody look
- 36:00Speaker 3: up to, and so he wanted to be an example
- 36:03Speaker 3: for him and just all that, and there's all this
- 36:07Speaker 3: chaos there, you know, driving through zombie land, and like
- 36:11Speaker 3: I got choked up in it, like he was. He's
- 36:14Speaker 3: so good. He's such a tremendous actor, he really is.
- 36:18Speaker 3: So if he's in a movie, I'm probably going to
- 36:20Speaker 3: give him that award.
- 36:21Speaker 2: So there is nothing of your husband left in that car.
- 36:24Speaker 2: And then he's like and he turns.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Off, which is such fun.
- 36:29Speaker 4: I love that little like that's a twist on the
- 36:32Speaker 4: zombie thing that we don't see a lot either, Like
- 36:35Speaker 4: they're still good for some things and like, you know,
- 36:38Speaker 4: like like at the end when they're pushing cards, they're
- 36:40Speaker 4: talking about like, oh, they're great for service jobs and
- 36:43Speaker 4: you know, hanging out and all that. I think that's
- 36:46Speaker 4: kind of fun. Love that. I like that rape spall
- 36:53Speaker 4: guy a lot. He's not in it very much, but
- 36:55Speaker 4: he's yeah, but he has been in other stuff since,
- 37:00Speaker 4: which is really fun. And he was good. I mean
- 37:04Speaker 4: it was fun. I forgot that. He They also show
- 37:07Speaker 4: him at the end again he's one of those zombies
- 37:10Speaker 4: who like is still working a job or something. I
- 37:12Speaker 4: think he's a cart guy or something. But I just
- 37:15Speaker 4: thought that was fun. I liked that guy. And then
- 37:18Speaker 4: Lucy Davis. I liked Lucy Davis a lot.
- 37:20Speaker 3: She's great.
- 37:21Speaker 2: I can't not think of the office when I see her.
- 37:24Speaker 4: That the British one, right, she was also a wonder
- 37:27Speaker 4: woman and she was so fun and was like the
- 37:30Speaker 4: sidekick lady. Yeah, but I liked her a lot.
- 37:34Speaker 3: It's been bad for her though, because she's still with
- 37:37Speaker 3: that guy and knows that he loves her friend like
- 37:41Speaker 3: what it's.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Doing, and she loves Sean. I'm pretty sure. Yeah, so
- 37:48Speaker 2: this seems like the case.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm with you on that. And Nick Frost,
- 37:54Speaker 4: I'm with you. Like that character sucks, but he's.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Really so funny.
- 37:59Speaker 4: He's always just so great. I love him.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of a walter to the dude. Yes, no
- 38:07Speaker 2: one can piss off Sean like Ed Cannon whatever. Yeah,
- 38:11Speaker 2: he's They.
- 38:12Speaker 4: Clearly love each other. I mean it's it's fun. I
- 38:14Speaker 4: like that.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yeah, when he gets some a beer and they shoots
- 38:17Speaker 2: him that look crazy. Yes, you guys like gay lovers.
- 38:22Speaker 4: No, but I mean like, thanks, that's so funny. That
- 38:29Speaker 4: packed me up so hard by.
- 38:34Speaker 2: I love that. Yeah. I don't know.
- 38:38Speaker 4: There was other people, but no one else looks stood.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:41Speaker 3: I mean Liz was cute. Kate Ashfield is her name.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah, she was fine.
- 38:46Speaker 4: She didn't get to do a lot, she was okay.
- 38:50Speaker 2: She wasn't progress or arc or anything. Really.
- 38:53Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean she was fed up with with him
- 38:56Speaker 6: in the beginning that he you know isn't motivated at
- 38:59Speaker 6: all and realizes that she needs to break up with them,
- 39:02Speaker 6: and then sees that he takes some initiatives and then
- 39:04Speaker 6: switches things up.
- 39:05Speaker 3: So a little bit, but I thought she was fine.
- 39:10Speaker 3: I thought it was fun seeing Martin Freeman.
- 39:12Speaker 2: For like two seconds.
- 39:13Speaker 3: That was I forgot about that scene, so that was
- 39:17Speaker 3: fun too. And then his roommate who's fed up with
- 39:25Speaker 3: Nick Frost. I've seen him in other things. His name
- 39:28Speaker 3: is Peter Sarah Finnowitz. Yeah, and he was good.
- 39:34Speaker 4: He was.
- 39:36Speaker 2: In the John Wick movies Sweet the Guns and he's
- 39:41Speaker 2: like something for dessert.
- 39:45Speaker 3: I love that. I was picturing him in a comedy.
- 39:49Speaker 3: I think it was a Melissa McCarthy one. It was
- 39:51Speaker 3: either Spy or The Heat. I can't remember. But anyways,
- 39:56Speaker 3: Peter Sarah Finowitz.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I think it's spy too. I think he's also the
- 40:00Speaker 2: voice of Darth Maul.
- 40:04Speaker 4: I really quote me on that, don't quote he might be.
- 40:08Speaker 4: He has a cool voice.
- 40:09Speaker 2: He does, he does.
- 40:11Speaker 4: He was also in a Marvel movie, but I don't
- 40:13Speaker 4: remember what. Oh, Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 40:17Speaker 2: That's right, right, he's done it. He's done a couple
- 40:20Speaker 2: of things.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Yeah, he's good. He's been around.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Here's fun.
- 40:22Speaker 2: I like him. Ye.
- 40:24Speaker 3: All right, Well, let's let's talk about our favorite scene
- 40:26Speaker 3: in this film. Let's choose the dingus is quite simple, really, dingus, dingus.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I could talk about my dingas all night long.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna kiss.
- 40:38Speaker 3: What's your favorite scene?
- 40:41Speaker 2: My favorite scene?
- 40:43Speaker 4: Man? I found that kind of hard in this one.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Yeah, they're all very similar kinda. I do like the
- 40:55Speaker 2: beginning where everybody is not zombies yet but they kind
- 40:58Speaker 2: of are because their lives suck. You know, are on
- 41:00Speaker 2: the bus staring ahead, and they're all on the street
- 41:03Speaker 2: just kind of walking.
- 41:05Speaker 3: And like the opening credits to where they're kind of like, yeah, dude,
- 41:09Speaker 3: that was fun.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yeah, And Simon is oblivious. He lives in his own world.
- 41:13Speaker 2: He doesn't even look anyone in the eyes, you know,
- 41:15Speaker 2: he just looks at the ground on as he walks
- 41:17Speaker 2: because he he doesn't like his life either, so he
- 41:20Speaker 2: just kind of goes about it. And then yeah, that's
- 41:24Speaker 2: brilliantly done. How why you know, you're like, what an idiot?
- 41:27Speaker 2: But at the same time, it's like, why would he notice,
- 41:29Speaker 2: like everybody around is kind of dead on the inside, right, Yeah,
- 41:33Speaker 2: and he doesn't care and he's just like whatever, and
- 41:36Speaker 2: he just goes back to his apartments smoke weed and
- 41:38Speaker 2: play video games somewhere, and you're like, you know what,
- 41:41Speaker 2: that's really cool how they did that. Yeah, so probably
- 41:44Speaker 2: those that kind of transition there before it happens. Even
- 41:48Speaker 2: it's like already a zombie movie in a weird way, right.
- 41:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I like that a lot.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. I definitely picked that that I mentioned
- 41:56Speaker 3: in my odd take, But just the the walk from
- 41:58Speaker 3: his apartment to the store or that the two times.
- 42:02Speaker 3: I think that's my favorite because I'm a sucker.
- 42:05Speaker 4: For one shot. I love a one shot.
- 42:08Speaker 3: If I had to runner up, I think is the
- 42:12Speaker 3: queen fighting scene with Don't Stop Me Now, and they're
- 42:16Speaker 3: just hitting the dude with pool cues like in the rhythm.
- 42:20Speaker 4: Yes, really fun look.
- 42:24Speaker 3: But just over and over and Edgar Wright like, I
- 42:27Speaker 3: think that's the beginning of that because like he perfects
- 42:31Speaker 3: that in Baby Driver, oh yeah, where he uses the
- 42:34Speaker 3: music to accentuate what's happening, like on the beat, and
- 42:40Speaker 3: it's so cool in Baby Driver.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Have you ever seen Baby Driver box?
- 42:45Speaker 2: It is cool.
- 42:47Speaker 4: It's so cool. I think you would really like that
- 42:49Speaker 4: movie because it's a it's a vibe too. It's really
- 42:52Speaker 4: it's an interesting movie.
- 42:53Speaker 2: It's fun, but I thought that was entertaining.
- 42:56Speaker 4: I like that. Yeah, yeah, I love that, love that well.
- 43:00Speaker 4: I think it's a queen, a queen sleep clean sweep
- 43:06Speaker 4: for easy for me to say for that first those
- 43:10Speaker 4: first scenes where he's walking back and forth from the
- 43:13Speaker 4: little bodega place, because I have that too. I love that.
- 43:17Speaker 4: I also love the background stuff we hear in that,
- 43:20Speaker 4: Like we hear about the spaceship that came back into
- 43:23Speaker 4: the atmosphere early, we hear about like the news stories
- 43:27Speaker 4: talking about people being sick. We hear you know, we
- 43:30Speaker 4: see like the the army trucks drive by and stuff like.
- 43:34Speaker 4: So they're really ratcheting it up the whole time in
- 43:37Speaker 4: the background, which I love stuff like that. I think
- 43:39Speaker 4: that's really fun.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Or the channel change scene where it's like people, yes,
- 43:46Speaker 2: love all.
- 43:46Speaker 4: I love all that so fun and it's so effective
- 43:50Speaker 4: for like world building to to do it that way
- 43:54Speaker 4: and let us in on it kind of before he's
- 43:56Speaker 4: in on it. So I really really love those scenes
- 43:58Speaker 4: a lot. I think they're really great. But yeah, to
- 44:01Speaker 4: say another one, the one that you mentioned wore, they
- 44:04Speaker 4: run into the group of people who is the same
- 44:06Speaker 4: as them, you know, in the alleyway. I think that's
- 44:10Speaker 4: just really I just really loved that, and it's so
- 44:12Speaker 4: dumb and great, but it's just like this alternate universe
- 44:15Speaker 4: of them, you know, but they meet and then it
- 44:19Speaker 4: actually does pay off at the end. I really liked
- 44:21Speaker 4: that scene in general.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that was fun.
- 44:23Speaker 4: Fun for sure to have that and just kind of
- 44:25Speaker 4: be like, oh cool, okay, well good luck, you know.
- 44:29Speaker 2: And then they do that one shot where they all
- 44:30Speaker 2: walk past each other the same person.
- 44:34Speaker 4: It's like two Scooby Doo gangs.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Like you know, there's a Seinfeld episode where that happens too.
- 44:41Speaker 4: That's right, that's right, good call. They're like beckoning her
- 44:43Speaker 4: to come in, but they're like super nice sorrow.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Gangs, and like Jeremy Piven was George's character, that's right.
- 44:52Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's a funny.
- 44:56Speaker 4: That's a funny episode. But I liked that scene.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's super fun.
- 45:00Speaker 4: But yeah, that just the trudging back and forth and
- 45:03Speaker 4: like the you know, he's like you about fifteen p
- 45:08Speaker 4: and then it's like I didn't even have enough to
- 45:10Speaker 4: give that guy, you know. Meanwhile, they're also oh, the
- 45:12Speaker 4: one shot you're talking about.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Another another scene that's fun is when they're doing
- 45:18Speaker 3: the shortcut to the Winchester and the fence, like he
- 45:24Speaker 3: jumps over the fence. So that's like a repeating thing.
- 45:27Speaker 3: So in all three of this film, Hot Fuzz and
- 45:31Speaker 3: The World's End they do that.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Bit going through really that backyards with the fences and
- 45:37Speaker 2: that I didn't know that, which is kind of fun.
- 45:41Speaker 3: And the only other one I wrote down was just
- 45:43Speaker 3: one that I already mentioned, the Bill ny emotional send
- 45:46Speaker 3: off in the Batley.
- 45:48Speaker 2: I thought that was a great scene. That's a super
- 45:51Speaker 2: good I think when they show where Sean works and
- 45:53Speaker 2: he's got a clipboard, he's giving a little speech and
- 45:55Speaker 2: then they cut to everybody else who's like fifteen years old,
- 45:58Speaker 2: and they just don't respect him. And he's not even
- 46:01Speaker 2: actually their boss. He's the senior Yeah, like little boy
- 46:05Speaker 2: worker there. Yeah, he's like, come on, guys, come on,
- 46:09Speaker 2: he's just such a loser.
- 46:12Speaker 4: So good. Yeah, I do love that.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Nice. Well, yeah, we love that that one shot.
- 46:20Speaker 3: That's great.
- 46:21Speaker 2: But let's lets keep moving.
- 46:23Speaker 3: We've done some quotes already, but there's still some more
- 46:26Speaker 3: we can talk about.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Let's let's go to show me the money, Show me
- 46:30Speaker 4: the money.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Show me, show me the money.
- 46:39Speaker 4: What do you got for a quote box?
- 46:41Speaker 2: Oh? You go first this time?
- 46:43Speaker 3: Okay, you go first, buddy, Okay, a lot of pressure.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Let's see it. I love the mom.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Have you been bitten?
- 46:53Speaker 4: Well no, but but Philip pass Oh okay. Yeah. Then
- 46:59Speaker 4: he comes over and he's like, oh my god, has
- 47:01Speaker 4: she been bitten? And he's like, no, but Philip has,
- 47:03Speaker 4: and he goes, oh okay. Yeah, they're both just fine
- 47:06Speaker 4: with it. I love.
- 47:06Speaker 3: I love when they're on the phone and she says
- 47:09Speaker 3: that Philip's been bitten and then he like puts his
- 47:11Speaker 3: hand over the receiver.
- 47:12Speaker 2: He's like, we might have to kill my stepdad.
- 47:15Speaker 4: To kill okay, yeah, so good. Yeah. I love that
- 47:18Speaker 4: whole thing. And then he's they're talking about why he
- 47:22Speaker 4: likes it, and he's like it's him in his roommate
- 47:24Speaker 4: and he's like, what because he can imitate in orang attack,
- 47:28Speaker 4: Well a doodle doo And he says doodle do a
- 47:31Speaker 4: couple of times and I really thought.
- 47:32Speaker 2: That was one. I like that too, Fuck a doodle do?
- 47:35Speaker 4: Is it really? That's a good one.
- 47:37Speaker 3: That's a fun swear.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a fun one and a fun swear rop
- 47:41Speaker 4: you want to say a couple sure.
- 47:44Speaker 3: I like the scene that Box was talking about when
- 47:47Speaker 3: he's talking to his co workers, like as mister Sloan
- 47:51Speaker 3: always says, there's no I in team, but there is
- 47:54Speaker 3: an iron pie and there's an eye.
- 47:56Speaker 2: In meat pie.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Anagram of meat is team.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I don't know what he's talking about.
- 48:05Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that was funny.
- 48:08Speaker 4: That's really good. I like, yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 2: I like when Sean's like, I'm gonna go check and
- 48:12Speaker 2: see him in the zombies are and he goes and
- 48:14Speaker 2: climbs up that little kid slide but they don't they
- 48:17Speaker 2: don't follow him, and just see his little dumb feet
- 48:19Speaker 2: go up there, comes right back down.
- 48:22Speaker 4: How was he? It's not good. There's a lot.
- 48:27Speaker 2: He was about to cry.
- 48:28Speaker 4: I did love that. That's really good. I stopped doing
- 48:34Speaker 4: them when you stop laughing.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and the thanks Babe, I definitely wrote that one down.
- 48:40Speaker 3: I loved the thankscape so much, the repeated line that
- 48:43Speaker 3: you've got read on you and then.
- 48:45Speaker 2: He's just coming blood. Later that when she's breaking up
- 48:51Speaker 2: with him and he's like no's like no, and eventually
- 48:55Speaker 2: she's like, well, I don't know what what do you
- 48:57Speaker 2: want to do? Go to the Winchester. He's like, do
- 48:58Speaker 2: you want to?
- 48:59Speaker 4: She's like no, I don't, damn it, man.
- 49:02Speaker 3: How are you listening to me?
- 49:05Speaker 2: He gets excited for one little Yeah.
- 49:09Speaker 3: There was one thing that I didn't really catch that
- 49:12Speaker 3: I thought was funnier written down.
- 49:15Speaker 2: But it's just.
- 49:17Speaker 3: It was earlier on and I loved how they filmed
- 49:20Speaker 3: it too. When they're kind of having their spat and
- 49:24Speaker 3: she's like, it's just with Ed here, it's no wonder.
- 49:26Speaker 3: I was always bring my flat mates out. And then
- 49:29Speaker 3: that only exacerbates things. He's like, what do you mean.
- 49:31Speaker 3: He's like, well, you guys hardly get on, do you.
- 49:33Speaker 3: It's like he's like, no, what does exacerbate me? She's like,
- 49:37Speaker 3: it means to make things worse. It's like, right, well,
- 49:40Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's not that I don't like David
- 49:42Speaker 3: and die And then he looks over and he's like, guys,
- 49:45Speaker 3: it's not that I don't like you. I just do
- 49:47Speaker 3: that with both of them.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Like love that.
- 49:51Speaker 3: But then later on I didn't even catch this, but
- 49:55Speaker 3: Sean is like, look, I don't care what the tell
- 49:57Speaker 3: He says, all right, we have to get out of here.
- 50:00Speaker 3: We don't, they'll tear us to pieces, and that is
- 50:02Speaker 3: really going to exacerbate things for all of us. Yeah,
- 50:09Speaker 3: because he just learned.
- 50:10Speaker 4: What it's like, I got it, I can do it.
- 50:13Speaker 3: I'm using it in a sentence now, So funny.
- 50:17Speaker 2: That is brilliant.
- 50:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's really great.
- 50:21Speaker 2: The last thing Ed says is Liz says goodbye, I
- 50:25Speaker 2: love you, and Ned says cheers, and Sean says I
- 50:28Speaker 2: love you two men, and Ed goes gay. Yeah, that's
- 50:37Speaker 2: pretty good.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he also said it was gay when when he
- 50:42Speaker 3: was talking about how much he loved Liz, He's like.
- 50:46Speaker 4: It's a bit gay or whatever. It's like, come on,
- 50:52Speaker 4: that's really great. Also, when Ed is giving him the
- 50:55Speaker 4: phone messages and he's like, well, your mom rang about
- 50:59Speaker 4: going your mom rang about going around tomorrow night, and
- 51:03Speaker 4: then Liz rang about the two of you eating out tonight,
- 51:06Speaker 4: and then your mom rang back to see if I
- 51:07Speaker 4: wanted to eat her out tonight, and he's like kind
- 51:11Speaker 4: of got yeah, and then later he's like, what wasn't
- 51:15Speaker 4: true about your mom? Was really funny?
- 51:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I love the jokey, Like, what's his big plan?
- 51:23Speaker 2: Sitting in the dark eating peanuts? Then like two minutes
- 51:26Speaker 2: later they're all just silently in the dark.
- 51:29Speaker 4: Yeah, peanut peanuts, want a Peanuts one?
- 51:35Speaker 2: Uh.
- 51:36Speaker 3: The last one that I wrote down is I loved
- 51:38Speaker 3: Ed and Barbara's thing.
- 51:39Speaker 2: But Barbara says.
- 51:41Speaker 3: My, how you've grown, and Ed says, yeah, you'd better
- 51:44Speaker 3: believe it.
- 51:44Speaker 2: It's really great.
- 51:52Speaker 4: Shut up at maybe laugh. Yeah, that's really wonderful. That
- 51:58Speaker 4: was like all the ones I wrote down ames the
- 52:00Speaker 4: like came down really they came out too quickly or something.
- 52:04Speaker 3: They were quick, and a lot of it was just
- 52:07Speaker 3: the delivery visual.
- 52:09Speaker 4: Yeah, so totally nice.
- 52:13Speaker 3: Well, why don't we move on to bugs boohoo moments only.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Crying game.
- 52:20Speaker 4: Ry.
- 52:23Speaker 2: That's really good, big.
- 52:29Speaker 3: I picked two of those that was I think it
- 52:33Speaker 3: might only be one, but I picked two. When Philip
- 52:37Speaker 3: is explaining how he wanted Sean to have someone to
- 52:39Speaker 3: look up to, that bit that I've talked about three times.
- 52:42Speaker 4: So I really liked that, But it didn't get me
- 52:45Speaker 4: to cry.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Wow.
- 52:46Speaker 4: I know, it isn't that weird. I remember thinking at
- 52:49Speaker 4: the time, I was like, oh, so, I guess we're
- 52:51Speaker 4: just devoidable feeling.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Now I fel like I don't even know you anymore.
- 52:55Speaker 2: I just dust comes out now.
- 52:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess I've cried my final here.
- 53:02Speaker 2: I think I think you cried when he had to
- 53:04Speaker 2: kill his mom, though I didn't.
- 53:06Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, for sure I was.
- 53:08Speaker 3: I was more sweet the Bill ninety bit.
- 53:12Speaker 4: I get that, but get that. I did think that
- 53:14Speaker 4: was sweet. There was a lot of other crazy stuff
- 53:16Speaker 4: happening though there.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Yeah, do you think there's a crying bit thereabout? Yeah,
- 53:22Speaker 2: what about when they're gonna use the last two bullets
- 53:24Speaker 2: on each other?
- 53:26Speaker 4: Did that get you? No? It didn't. It didn't. Heart
- 53:30Speaker 4: of Stone, Heart of Stone. I did like that part
- 53:33Speaker 4: though many how many? It was like we could probably
- 53:38Speaker 4: line a few of them up.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he's such a bad shot bullets and he sucks
- 53:45Speaker 2: so hard.
- 53:46Speaker 4: Why did we let him shoot? He's so bad at it.
- 53:48Speaker 2: It was probably like four hundred zombies, so you can
- 53:51Speaker 2: do twenty nine bullets.
- 53:52Speaker 4: Like just put it up to their head and then
- 53:54Speaker 4: shoot pretty much.
- 53:56Speaker 3: I just felt like it felt kind of like a
- 53:59Speaker 3: low budget and I think if you would have actually
- 54:02Speaker 3: gotten all those zombies and all the makeup you'd have
- 54:04Speaker 3: to do over it. Oh, it's kind of what it
- 54:07Speaker 3: felt like. Yeah, they made him a badge. I think
- 54:11Speaker 3: that's a good point.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that. Actually, they really only have like
- 54:15Speaker 2: three scenes, right, there's like the house, the store, and
- 54:18Speaker 2: the Winchester Bar.
- 54:20Speaker 4: That's kind of it.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think I think you might be right
- 54:23Speaker 2: about that budget.
- 54:24Speaker 4: Yeah, that's smart like that. I like that. But yeah,
- 54:27Speaker 4: it was just that one, just the one, the one
- 54:29Speaker 4: for this one.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Okay, all right, a movie with zero oh yeah, quite
- 54:35Speaker 3: actually yeah, quite a few comedies Broe comedies.
- 54:39Speaker 4: M Yeah, there's also been a number of movies with
- 54:43Speaker 4: more than that, so many more, so many more.
- 54:47Speaker 2: We got into fifties fifties during The Lord of the Rings. Yeah,
- 54:50Speaker 2: fifty to fifty cries.
- 54:52Speaker 4: To be fair. I like those movies a lot, and
- 54:55Speaker 4: they're like six hours long.
- 54:57Speaker 2: They are long, they're true, a lot.
- 54:59Speaker 4: Of time for crying. We got to do the math here.
- 55:02Speaker 4: That's you know, six six hours of three minutes, I
- 55:06Speaker 4: think is what we figured out. At the time. It
- 55:09Speaker 4: was a lot.
- 55:10Speaker 2: I like it was the opening score. I was like, oh,
- 55:13Speaker 2: buckle up, the world is changing movie.
- 55:24Speaker 4: It's not far off, and I don't like how true
- 55:27Speaker 4: it is. Let's go in a little bit of movie trivia. Now,
- 55:32Speaker 4: the man is a master.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Master at the transfer, the transition.
- 55:38Speaker 4: Let's see here, that's the word there. It is George A. Ramero,
- 55:44Speaker 4: creator of the movies to which this movie pays a
- 55:47Speaker 4: lot of homage to, and also lampoons this says, which
- 55:51Speaker 4: is fun, was so impressed with Simon Peg and Edgar
- 55:55Speaker 4: Writ's work that he asked them to do a cameo
- 55:57Speaker 4: in Land of the Dead as zombies. Nice to them,
- 56:02Speaker 4: you know, they clearly like these movies to get asked them.
- 56:05Speaker 2: You know, I would love to be a zombie in
- 56:07Speaker 2: a movie, just in the background. It is so fun,
- 56:09Speaker 2: so fun, hang out with all the other zombies, lunch
- 56:12Speaker 2: at the camp, you know, and then you go out there.
- 56:14Speaker 4: And got lot to make up. Fun. But it would
- 56:17Speaker 4: be fun.
- 56:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't get shot and fall down. Be great,
- 56:21Speaker 2: that would be I would love it. Yeah, that would
- 56:23Speaker 2: be amazing. I would like that too.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Let's see. When asked by an interview why they chose
- 56:29Speaker 4: to have slow zombie or slow moving zombies instead of
- 56:32Speaker 4: running zombies, Simon Peg simply replied, because death is not
- 56:36Speaker 4: an energy drink. That was a pretty fun.
- 56:39Speaker 2: I mean, the slow zombie is like that's what you're
- 56:42Speaker 2: used to, you know.
- 56:43Speaker 3: It was World War z That was like, we're gonna
- 56:45Speaker 3: have crazy fast zombies.
- 56:48Speaker 4: What I think twenty eight days later they were pretty
- 56:50Speaker 4: fast too.
- 56:50Speaker 2: I think, oh, yeah, they're terrifying and there's nothing funny
- 56:53Speaker 2: about that. Slow zombies is funny. Yeah, you can go
- 56:57Speaker 2: they make fun of them as they come at you
- 56:58Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 56:59Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they're too terrifying. Otherwise, well you're right worldwide.
- 57:04Speaker 4: Uh this Sewn and Ed's friendship is based off of
- 57:09Speaker 4: when Simon Peg and Nick Frost actually shared a flat together.
- 57:12Speaker 4: So I thought that was kind of fun. I thought
- 57:15Speaker 4: this was neat all. The news readers and the like
- 57:18Speaker 4: television presenters are real people portraying themselves, so I thought
- 57:22Speaker 4: was pretty cool. That makes sense. They seemed yeah, they
- 57:26Speaker 4: seemed legitimate, like yeah, one hundred percent.
- 57:29Speaker 2: I just thought that was fun.
- 57:31Speaker 4: The the name John and Bernie are the real names
- 57:37Speaker 4: of the landlord and landlady who run Simon Pegg's local pub,
- 57:41Speaker 4: The Shepherds and the Highgate, and John apparently actually used
- 57:46Speaker 4: to make them toasted sandwiches for the regulars, Hence the
- 57:49Speaker 4: reference to the the brevel outside are the brevel out back.
- 57:53Speaker 4: When they're talking about oh he'll make you toasty, you
- 57:56Speaker 4: know that whole bit and stuff and totaling is super funny.
- 58:01Speaker 4: So that was just an homage to them, to their
- 58:03Speaker 4: actual local pubs. I feel like I feel like that's
- 58:07Speaker 4: something the English do really right, like a local pub pubs.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, they're they're great fun.
- 58:13Speaker 4: It's fun.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I almost have one by my house, the Chatterbox.
- 58:17Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's true. It is very puppy.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it is the oldest speakeasy in the state, apparently,
- 58:23Speaker 2: is it really?
- 58:24Speaker 4: That's what they say.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Isn't that where didn't they have like the board games
- 58:28Speaker 3: and stuff too?
- 58:29Speaker 2: Like that, they have Nintendo's hooked up. It's usually karaoke
- 58:31Speaker 2: going in the room. Yeah, it's very sixties and funky
- 58:35Speaker 2: in there. And you can tell how it's like half
- 58:36Speaker 2: of it and then there was another hidden half. It's
- 58:39Speaker 2: pretty cool. That's cool.
- 58:40Speaker 4: That is wild.
- 58:41Speaker 2: I haven't been there in a long time.
- 58:44Speaker 4: Indeed, it's a good place. Good just good place. Let's see,
- 58:49Speaker 4: just when Sean is exiting the corner shop, which is
- 58:52Speaker 4: tuned to a radio station playing songs from Indian movies,
- 58:55Speaker 4: the song stops and the news newscaster begins speaking in Hindi,
- 58:59Speaker 4: and the content of that news when translated is people
- 59:02Speaker 4: are waking up from their graves. So he didn't you
- 59:05Speaker 4: know even in that they were immersing people, which is fun.
- 59:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that is what it said.
- 59:10Speaker 4: I remember that. Yeah, Rob Big Hindi guy Nick Frost
- 59:14Speaker 4: allegedly kept his genitals shaved throughout the production to create
- 59:18Speaker 4: a genuine need to scratch that the character demanded.
- 59:23Speaker 3: That was the only trivia that I wrote down because
- 59:25Speaker 3: I thought that was so ridiculous, that.
- 59:27Speaker 4: That very method apparently, when it comes to that is
- 59:31Speaker 4: so dumb. He does do it a number of times
- 59:36Speaker 4: during the film. Edgar Write's own mother called him Pickle,
- 59:44Speaker 4: so that's a reference to his mom when she calls
- 59:46Speaker 4: him pickle. And I think that's very cute, Like that's nice.
- 59:50Speaker 4: Liked it a lot. Let's see. According to the DVD commentary,
- 59:55Speaker 4: when ed attempts to cheer Sean up at the Winchester
- 59:58Speaker 4: with plans of binge drink the next day, he's actually
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: summarizing the events of the next day entirely in drinking references.
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: So bloody Mary references the checkout girl in the back garden.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: Bite at the King's Head is Philip. There's a couple
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: David and Die little princesses Liz Stanker back is when
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: they impersonate zombies and then barfer shots references firing the
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: rifle at the Winchester. Wow, I thought that was kind
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: of cool.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: That is cool.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: I never would have realized that. Obviously, you got to
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: watch this number of times. I would guess to do that.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: But that's really fun. Let's see. Even though according to
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: the zombo meter feature stating that that Diane dies, the
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: DVD's animated special feature plot holes what happened to Diane
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: when she left the Winchester. It explains that Diane actually
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: does make it through the crowd of zombies. She climbs
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: a tree, she passes out. She is awakened to utter
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: silence and out of fear. She stays in the tree
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: for days, surviving on David's severed leg, and eventually goes
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: to live with an aunt and she remains to this
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: day in quote unquote Christmas card contact with Sean and Liz.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Wow, I thought that was real, silly and fun.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: So I liked that. And also on the DVD, what
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: happened to Sean when he ran off? Basically Simon Peg
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: explains that he was able to exit and re enter
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: simply by staying ahead of the undead, because contrary to
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: modern theories, the undead are very slow. And this is
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: a joke aimed at the movies that we referenced where
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: the zombies were fast, you know, they were fast, And
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: he was like, no, they're gonna limp and you know,
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: walk around all slow. So he just out random, Yeah,
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: I guess, which is kind of fun. So but that
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: was all the tributa I had. There wasn't a whole
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: lot out there for this one.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: That was more than I saw.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: So nice.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: All right, well cool? Will there be a sequel? Judgment day?
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: I guess one thing I saw.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Simon Peg and Edgar Wright considered a sequel that would
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: replace zombies with another monster, but decided against it as
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: they were pleased with this movie as a standalone product
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: and thought too many characters died.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: To continue the story.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: The proposed title was from Dusk Till Sean.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Which I like, perfect a lot.
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: The title, and they were like, should we make this.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Just for the title alone? You know, at least make
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: it like a like a short film or something.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Totally these days they do like a sequel like forty
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: years later. Yeah, So like Beatle just bed just just
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: came out, So that's true.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: I think that was I think thirty six for Top
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Gun and Top.
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: Gun Maverick so totally nice.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: That's so crazy, it's ridiculous. So it could happen. I'd
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: watch it. Maybe they turn into fastobies now oh no,
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: oh no, slipping on banana piels and stuff.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Wheah.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Well, that was a lot of fun. Do you guys
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: want to play a game?
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: I did a starting five and for what I'm gonna
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: do here, I'm gonna name my five favorite actors from
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: a particular film. When you know the film, you're going
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: to ring in with your name.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: So I know he's ringing in, is going to demolish men.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: He's going to do pretty good on this.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: You never know.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: But if you get if you get the movie wrong,
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: no negative points, you just won't be able to guess
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: again for that movie.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: If if their.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Actors' names remaining, you can guess the actors that I
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: would have picked for more points. Uh, and the other
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: person can steal if you get any of those wrong.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: And all of these films have something in common. When
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: you know the theme, you can ring it at any
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: time for a.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Point hmm nice.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: Are we good?
