- 0:12Speaker 1: Reward tonight at Pact Show.
- 0:17Speaker 2: The news poll that will surprised both sides of politics
- 0:19Speaker 2: should worry you too, and Brittany Higgins forced to sell
- 0:23Speaker 2: her hardaway in France as the legal bills bite plus,
- 0:26Speaker 2: should foreign mister Penny Wong apologize for promoting this pro
- 0:30Speaker 2: Palestine extremist who's just praise the terrorists and again vilified Australia.
- 0:36Speaker 3: The Australian flag might make a racist white person think
- 0:40Speaker 3: that you're acceptable, but that is the colonized flag.
- 0:44Speaker 4: They does not belong here.
- 0:49Speaker 2: But first and dominating the news today, President Joe Biden
- 0:55Speaker 2: has given up. He's dropped out of the election race
- 0:57Speaker 2: against Donald Trump with just one hundred and five days
- 1:00Speaker 2: left now to polling day. The Sunday morning, his team
- 1:04Speaker 2: was insisting wasn't quitting Sunday afternoon, No press conference, just
- 1:08Speaker 2: the tweet. I've decided not to accept the nomination and
- 1:11Speaker 2: to focus on my energies, on my duties as president.
- 1:14Speaker 1: For the remainder of my term.
- 1:16Speaker 2: My very first decision as the party nominee in twenty twenty,
- 1:19Speaker 2: what's the pick Kamala Harris as my vice president? And
- 1:21Speaker 2: it's been the best decision I've made today. I went
- 1:24Speaker 2: to offer I want to offer my full support and
- 1:27Speaker 2: endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party.
- 1:32Speaker 1: But he's picking Kamala.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Harris to run against Donald Trump. Is this a question
- 1:37Speaker 2: of from the frying pan to the far for the Democrats?
- 1:41Speaker 2: At least, has Barden actually given his party a parting
- 1:46Speaker 2: kiss of death by banking an apparent airhead, someone who's
- 1:51Speaker 2: populated rating for most of this year was even worse
- 1:54Speaker 2: than Barden's own. Now, it's true Barden himself had to
- 1:58Speaker 2: go all the tributes like this today about how noble
- 2:03Speaker 2: and self sacrificing he was to drop out of the
- 2:06Speaker 2: race and hand over to someone with a better chance
- 2:09Speaker 2: of beating that evil Donald Trump.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I mean, this is rubbish.
- 2:14Speaker 5: President Biden deserves today, I think, to be recognized for
- 2:20Speaker 5: once again not putting himself forward first, but giving his
- 2:26Speaker 5: first consideration to being what he believes is in the
- 2:29Speaker 5: interests of the United States of America as he's as
- 2:33Speaker 5: he has done his whole public life.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Nonsense.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Joe Biden, in fact, hang on for far too long
- 2:42Speaker 2: out of sheer vanity, pretending he was still fit enough
- 2:46Speaker 2: physically and mentally to be present for another four years.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Even Kamala Harris obviously knew had gone vague, lost his
- 2:55Speaker 2: sense of where he was at times, and the whole
- 2:57Speaker 2: world sought for themselves during life. Last month's disastrous debate
- 3:02Speaker 2: with Donald Trump.
- 3:05Speaker 6: With the COVID could be with the total initiative relative
- 3:10Speaker 6: to what we're going to do with more border patrol
- 3:13Speaker 6: and more as President Trump.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I really don't know what he said at the end
- 3:18Speaker 4: of that. I don't think he knows what he said either.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Now Joe Biden quit the race only when he was
- 3:25Speaker 2: blasted out by other Democrats, apparently led or at least
- 3:29Speaker 2: encouraged by his former boss Barack Obama. We'd also seen
- 3:33Speaker 2: Buden freeze and a fundraiser last month and had to
- 3:36Speaker 2: literally toe him off the stage. Now, Biden had dozens
- 3:41Speaker 2: of Democrat politicians the mining. He quit after the debate,
- 3:45Speaker 2: He had donors stopped donating, his poll numbers collapsed, It
- 3:50Speaker 2: was over. So there was no self sacrifice about quitting
- 3:55Speaker 2: so very very late in the campaign. There's no patriotism
- 3:59Speaker 2: in that he should have a year ago. Biden just
- 4:02Speaker 2: realized at last he was toasted. No support, no money,
- 4:06Speaker 2: no Hope, but now backing Kamala Harris to take over
- 4:11Speaker 2: from him. That's not what Barack Obama wanted. He put
- 4:15Speaker 2: out a statement today that failed to back Harris. The
- 4:19Speaker 2: Democrat leaders of both the House and the Senate also
- 4:22Speaker 2: didn't back Harris.
- 4:24Speaker 1: They all want time.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And space for an open race with other candidates, perhaps
- 4:29Speaker 2: better ones, almost certainly ahead of the Democrat convention in
- 4:33Speaker 2: a month's time. But Bill and Hillary Clinton they are
- 4:37Speaker 2: backing Harris and more and more Democrat politicians and activists
- 4:41Speaker 2: over the hours after buden quit they started.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Backing her too.
- 4:47Speaker 2: One of her main likely challengers, going use of the
- 4:52Speaker 2: California governor, then backed her as well. And who are
- 4:56Speaker 2: the Democrats after all? Dar's now to run against a
- 5:00Speaker 2: black woman, not a white man.
- 5:02Speaker 1: For sure.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Identity politics saves Harris again. So it now actually looks
- 5:07Speaker 2: certain Kamala Harris will be the Democrats candidate in November.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Now.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Donald Trump and the Republicans thickening cocky two cocky Trump
- 5:21Speaker 2: last week made clear he does not rate Harris at all.
- 5:25Speaker 2: All broken down plot grab.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a he just quit.
- 5:29Speaker 2: You know he's quitting Lewis, Is that right?
- 5:31Speaker 5: Ye?
- 5:31Speaker 4: I got and that means we have Kamala she.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It's yourself.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Now, that's I surprised that you should think that way.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I've got to admit to me, Kamala Harris is a
- 5:47Speaker 2: public image, is a cackling knit with with that laugh,
- 6:02Speaker 2: and then she serves up woke word salads.
- 6:06Speaker 7: Talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right,
- 6:10Speaker 7: the significance of the passage of time. So when you
- 6:13Speaker 7: think about it, there is great significance to the passage
- 6:16Speaker 7: of time.
- 6:19Speaker 2: More significantly, she has failed in the one big job
- 6:21Speaker 2: that Biden gave her to help stop illegal immigration at
- 6:26Speaker 2: the border. Instead, up to ten million illegal immigrants have
- 6:31Speaker 2: poured into the United States under the Biden Harris administration,
- 6:36Speaker 2: including even people from China of military age, and Harris
- 6:40Speaker 2: simply looked absent without leave.
- 6:43Speaker 7: We've been to the border, We've been to the border.
- 6:46Speaker 7: You haven't been to the border, and I haven't been
- 6:49Speaker 7: to Europe. I don't understand the point that you're making.
- 6:55Speaker 2: So I can imagine why some Republicans do think they've
- 6:59Speaker 2: got Kamala Harris measure. And in fact, an action Committee
- 7:04Speaker 2: for Trump has already rolled out the first attack I
- 7:07Speaker 2: had against her.
- 7:09Speaker 8: If you ever wondered how Joe Biden could get the
- 7:12Speaker 8: border so screwed up, Remember he had help. Here's Biden
- 7:19Speaker 8: appointing Kamala Harris to be his borders are to deal
- 7:22Speaker 8: with illegal immigration. And here are a record number of
- 7:26Speaker 8: illegal immigrants ten million in counting, flooding over the border
- 7:30Speaker 8: after Harris was put in charge of stopping illegal immigration.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But you know, Harris does give the Democrats more hope
- 7:42Speaker 2: than Biden. I mean, just yesterday, after Biden said had
- 7:46Speaker 2: stepped down for her, the Democrats raised more money in
- 7:50Speaker 2: one day online than they have in years, fifty million
- 7:54Speaker 2: dollars US for their campaign. At the mainstream media, you
- 7:58Speaker 2: can bet your bottom dollar on it, They're going to
- 8:00Speaker 2: push Kamala Harris as well. And she'll played the identity
- 8:03Speaker 2: politics card that had Biden picker as the black woman
- 8:07Speaker 2: that he needed to balance his ticket in the first place,
- 8:11Speaker 2: making her class president. And she will attack Donald Trump
- 8:15Speaker 2: for being a threat not just the abortion rights for women,
- 8:18Speaker 2: but even are threats to their rights to contraception.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I've already been hearing that. I mean, that's a joke.
- 8:26Speaker 7: Is a fight for freedom.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Harris is also going to appeal to black voters and
- 8:33Speaker 2: Republicans should also worry about something else. They will know
- 8:38Speaker 2: they've seen that millions of American voters hate Trump so
- 8:42Speaker 2: much that they could still support Biden even when they
- 8:47Speaker 2: realized he was a bumbling, stumbling man who were now
- 8:50Speaker 2: told lost focus after four pm at work. And the
- 8:56Speaker 2: thing is, you know, with all that, it wasn't trump
- 8:58Speaker 2: supporter rise support that fell in the polls, but Trump's
- 9:03Speaker 2: barely rose except for a blip after it was nearly
- 9:06Speaker 2: assassinated a week ago. So it's going to be dumb
- 9:11Speaker 2: for the Republicans for Trump to just dismiss Harris. You know,
- 9:16Speaker 2: they've got a new challenge they've got to face. They
- 9:18Speaker 2: have to regroup, refocus. Even so I sort of think,
- 9:24Speaker 2: you know, yes, they're ahead, and it's you know, or
- 9:30Speaker 2: Harris is being presented as a new, new generation candidate
- 9:35Speaker 2: fifty nine years old when Trump is now seventy eight
- 9:38Speaker 2: is the old man in the race. But while she
- 9:42Speaker 2: might be new generation, she's actually tied to the old
- 9:47Speaker 2: generation policies a President Biden, the policies that she fought
- 9:51Speaker 2: for for the last three and a half years, a
- 9:54Speaker 2: time when she also pretended by the way Joe Budden
- 9:56Speaker 2: was fit to serve for another term when she lied a.
- 10:01Speaker 7: Very bold and vibrant president. He is an extraordinary leader,
- 10:08Speaker 7: and I wish that people could see what I see
- 10:11Speaker 7: because Joe Biden.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Is very much alive and running for reelection.
- 10:14Speaker 7: He is extraordinarily smart, and there are other weaknesses.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Of course, Harris is also more left wing than Joe Biden.
- 10:23Speaker 2: But there is something else that the Republicans will know.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Of course, Harris is now going to have to debate
- 10:30Speaker 2: and campaign like she's never shown she can. You remember
- 10:34Speaker 2: four and a half years ago when she was running
- 10:37Speaker 2: against Biden and others for the Democrat nomination then and
- 10:41Speaker 2: was totally humiliated in the debate so badly that she
- 10:44Speaker 2: quit the race even before the vote first vote was cast.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Her record as Attorney General of California was used by
- 10:52Speaker 2: Tulsey Gabbard to destroy her. She put over fifteen hundred
- 10:56Speaker 2: people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about
- 10:59Speaker 2: it when she asked if she ever smoked marijuana.
- 11:02Speaker 4: She blocked evidence.
- 11:04Speaker 3: She blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man
- 11:08Speaker 3: from death row until the courts forced her to do so.
- 11:11Speaker 9: She kept people in prison beyond their.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state
- 11:16Speaker 3: of California.
- 11:20Speaker 1: It was all over.
- 11:22Speaker 2: So for Kamala Harris to win, she has to be
- 11:26Speaker 2: a Harris we've never seen. She has to be backed
- 11:29Speaker 2: with an enthusiasm among Democrats that we haven't seen, and
- 11:33Speaker 2: she has to be campaigning on fresh policies we haven't seen.
- 11:38Speaker 2: So I'd say Donald Trump is still the favorite, even
- 11:43Speaker 2: after blowing by now the race, the guy who was
- 11:46Speaker 2: bound to beat, But he is still a mistake or
- 11:50Speaker 2: two from losing this And one mistake could be taking
- 11:54Speaker 2: Kamala Harris for granted airhead or not.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Who am I actually kidding?
- 12:03Speaker 2: I mean I think Johnald Trump is about like ten
- 12:06Speaker 2: mistakes away from losing. Actually, I mean Kamala Harris. I
- 12:11Speaker 2: was joined earlier from outside the White House. Well, he
- 12:14Speaker 2: was standing outside the White House. Former Treasurer of former
- 12:16Speaker 2: Australian Ambassador of Washington, Joe Hockey. Joe Hockey, thanks for
- 12:21Speaker 2: your time. It's something really strange about the way Joe
- 12:24Speaker 2: Barten announced he was stepping down. It sort of in
- 12:26Speaker 2: a way came out of the blue. We knew it
- 12:28Speaker 2: was on probably going to happen at some stage, but
- 12:31Speaker 2: in the morning he was being defended. It was all okay,
- 12:35Speaker 2: defiance from the White House, and suddenly, bang, at about
- 12:39Speaker 2: half aus one in the afternoon, a tweet, a statement,
- 12:43Speaker 2: no press other than that Joe Barden hasn't appeared. He
- 12:47Speaker 2: didn't make a TV announcement, nothing. It just seems so abrupt.
- 12:52Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Well, it was a last minute decision.
- 12:56Speaker 10: Contrary to some of the speculation that's been around this morning,
- 13:00Speaker 10: Joe Biden was still very much determined to run, and
- 13:03Speaker 10: so much so that one of his closest supporters, the
- 13:06Speaker 10: head of the Black Caucus, Jim Clyburn, was out defending him.
- 13:10Speaker 10: But a couple of things happened today that apparently changed
- 13:13Speaker 10: his mind. One was a disastrous poll in Michigan six
- 13:17Speaker 10: points behind, and the second was that he was worn
- 13:21Speaker 10: that there were more than one hundred Democrat senators and
- 13:24Speaker 10: congressmen that were about to come out over the next
- 13:26Speaker 10: few days calling on him not to run, and frankly,
- 13:30Speaker 10: he'd had enough. I'm told by an extremely reliable source,
- 13:34Speaker 10: and multiple sources now that even Kamala Harris only found
- 13:39Speaker 10: out five minutes before the statement went out, So it
- 13:44Speaker 10: was a rush decision, but obviously he'd been thinking personally
- 13:48Speaker 10: about it for a little while.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Now Kamala Harris, the supports of him, seems to be
- 13:56Speaker 2: locking in behind her, people coming out endorsing her. Barden
- 14:00Speaker 2: himself did, the Clintons did, although interestingly enough, Barack Obama
- 14:06Speaker 2: has not. He is just saying leave it to the
- 14:09Speaker 2: party processes, nor of the heads of the Democrat heads
- 14:12Speaker 2: of Senate and Congress. But I don't know. It seems
- 14:15Speaker 2: that it's Kamala Harris's really almost to win. Now, what
- 14:21Speaker 2: do you think that'll mean for Donald Trump?
- 14:27Speaker 4: Well, there's a couple of things to go through.
- 14:30Speaker 1: First.
- 14:30Speaker 10: The first is, Kamala Harris will be the candidate of
- 14:34Speaker 10: the delegates going to the convention, more than forty percent
- 14:37Speaker 10: of African American and fifty six percent women, and that
- 14:41Speaker 10: will lock in with combined with the various caucuses, lock
- 14:45Speaker 10: in the support for Kamala Harris.
- 14:47Speaker 4: So you know, it's laid down as air.
- 14:50Speaker 10: The second thing is, I'm told that they will be
- 14:54Speaker 10: proceeding with a ballot well before, well before the convention,
- 14:59Speaker 10: probably the beginning of August, a virtual ballot of all
- 15:02Speaker 10: the delegates to lock in Kamala's endorsement. And then the
- 15:08Speaker 10: real issue now is the Democrats are all lobbying to
- 15:12Speaker 10: see who is going to be her running mate, and
- 15:16Speaker 10: the question will be whether they have a governor from
- 15:19Speaker 10: important swing states, be they Pennsylvania or a number of
- 15:25Speaker 10: other states, or whether they go with someone who is
- 15:29Speaker 10: perhaps more of a military background. It will be a man,
- 15:32Speaker 10: I'm told, but a military background, because at the moment,
- 15:36Speaker 10: the Democrats are polling twenty three percent behind the Republicans
- 15:41Speaker 10: with men, with white men in particular, So it's really
- 15:46Speaker 10: now about getting the right mix for the vice presidential candidate.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Except, of course, I don't think vice presidential candidates make
- 15:56Speaker 2: that much of a difference. It's going to really be
- 15:59Speaker 2: her versus Trump. She's got a reputation of being an airhead,
- 16:02Speaker 2: a giggler. She failed on the board, which was the
- 16:05Speaker 2: one job that Joe Barden gave her. You know, is
- 16:10Speaker 2: this a problem for Donald Trump.
- 16:14Speaker 10: Well, it's going to make the race much more competitive.
- 16:17Speaker 10: I mean, Donald Trump, you know, is constantly sitting around
- 16:21Speaker 10: forty six percent vote and what was happening was that
- 16:26Speaker 10: the Democrats, with all the infighting, were bleeding enthusiasm. And
- 16:30Speaker 10: so now this has given the Democrats a lot of enthusiasm.
- 16:33Speaker 10: I mean, there's a real energy amongst the Democrats today
- 16:36Speaker 10: and a sense of relief that I can go forward
- 16:39Speaker 10: with another candidate. So it is going to be a
- 16:42Speaker 10: very competitive race. And you know, there's one hundred and
- 16:45Speaker 10: six days ago. There could be a myriad of international
- 16:49Speaker 10: events that occur that could take a you know, cause
- 16:52Speaker 10: a twist and a turn in the election campaign. There
- 16:55Speaker 10: will be gaps, there will be mistakes. I think it's
- 16:58Speaker 10: going to be a lot closer because at the end
- 16:59Speaker 10: of day it's coming down to just eight hundred thousand
- 17:04Speaker 10: people in four states.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And that's the way you described it, Joe Hockey. So
- 17:12Speaker 2: Joe Biden wakes up in the morning, he's still going
- 17:14Speaker 2: to fight, tells his friends he's going to fight, and
- 17:17Speaker 2: then suddenly it all gets too much. Right, people are
- 17:21Speaker 2: praising him for his patriotism in putting the nation, his
- 17:25Speaker 2: party above himself. But seriously, this guy was blasted out,
- 17:30Speaker 2: wasn't he.
- 17:33Speaker 10: Well at the end of the day, he was because
- 17:35Speaker 10: you know, as you and I have discussed before, Andrew, people.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Don't willingly give up power.
- 17:41Speaker 10: The last time it happened was Leonard Johnson here in
- 17:45Speaker 10: the United States who decided not to run at the
- 17:48Speaker 10: last minute, and that was that last minute was in
- 17:50Speaker 10: fact well before this point in the electoral cycle, back
- 17:54Speaker 10: in the late sixties. So it's uncharted territory and Joe
- 18:01Speaker 10: Biden has been a fighter all his life. One of
- 18:03Speaker 10: the interesting stats is that this is the first presidential
- 18:08Speaker 10: vice presidential election in nearly fifty years when you haven't
- 18:13Speaker 10: had a Bush, a Biden, or a Clinton on one
- 18:17Speaker 10: of the tickets. This is the first time in nearly
- 18:20Speaker 10: fifty years, since nineteen seventy six. So that name recognition
- 18:25Speaker 10: of the Bushes, the Bidens, the Clintons, that is worth
- 18:28Speaker 10: a lot in a country that relies on voluntary voting.
- 18:32Speaker 4: And so we are now.
- 18:34Speaker 10: Going into a whole new era in American politics. This
- 18:38Speaker 10: is a changing in the guard and the Bushes, the Bidens,
- 18:42Speaker 10: and the Clintons, so that for the first time in
- 18:46Speaker 10: nearly fifty years, not on a presidential or vice presidential ticket.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Whether Democrats are making a lot about this changing the guard,
- 18:53Speaker 2: the passing on to the torch and all that, and
- 18:55Speaker 2: making the point that he is Kamala Harris fifty nine.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Now the oldest person in the race is Donald Trump
- 19:01Speaker 2: at seventy eight. But the point is the difficulty for
- 19:04Speaker 2: the Democrats here, surely Joe Hockey is this.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yes, they've got the new generation candidate.
- 19:11Speaker 2: But they've got one that's pushing the old Joe Biden policies.
- 19:15Speaker 2: That's the problem. It's a new candidate for the old agenda.
- 19:20Speaker 2: They really might in a perfect world they would have
- 19:23Speaker 2: a new candidate with a new agenda.
- 19:25Speaker 1: They don't have that.
- 19:28Speaker 10: Well, this is a test for Kamala Harris. Will she
- 19:31Speaker 10: have her own agenda? I suspect she will. She'll try
- 19:34Speaker 10: and present a new agenda, but there's no way she
- 19:37Speaker 10: can just abandon abandon all the things that the Biden
- 19:41Speaker 10: administration has done because she was the vice.
- 19:44Speaker 4: President, she was the running mate.
- 19:47Speaker 10: And frankly, the agenda that Biden has rolled out is
- 19:52Speaker 10: what has held together. The Black Caucus has held together.
- 19:56Speaker 10: Bernie Sanders and AOC and the left wing of the party,
- 20:00Speaker 10: they've been part of it. The Democrats have in the
- 20:03Speaker 10: main been actually pretty disciplined. And you know, when Bernie
- 20:08Speaker 10: Sanders says that Joe Biden's been the best president in many,
- 20:12Speaker 10: many years, then you can be sure that the agenda
- 20:15Speaker 10: was pretty left wing.
- 20:16Speaker 4: And so now Kamala.
- 20:19Speaker 10: Harris is going to try and protect that, but she
- 20:21Speaker 10: has to reach out. She has to reach out to
- 20:25Speaker 10: the middle ground and try and get young people, particularly
- 20:28Speaker 10: enthusab out of Kandasy.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Joe Hockey, great to talk to you. Thank you very
- 20:33Speaker 1: much for your time.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Thanks Andrew.
- 20:39Speaker 2: They say they pride comes before the fall and after
- 20:43Speaker 2: the break. I'll show you the moment that Joe Biden
- 20:46Speaker 2: got too arrogant and killed this campaign and a car
- 20:49Speaker 2: crash press conference again raises the question when did Labour
- 20:53Speaker 2: know was taking money from a corrupt union. They've got
- 20:59Speaker 2: to show you something and it's really got to go
- 21:01Speaker 2: down as one of the biggest owned goals in political history.
- 21:05Speaker 2: This is Joe Barden actually challenging Donald Trump so that
- 21:09Speaker 2: debate that then destroyed his own election campaign.
- 21:13Speaker 1: What misplaced arrogance.
- 21:17Speaker 11: Donald Trump lost two debates to me in twenty twenty.
- 21:19Speaker 11: It sounds that he hadn't shown up for debate. Now
- 21:21Speaker 11: he's acting like he wanted to debate me again or
- 21:23Speaker 11: make my day pal. I'll even do it twice. So
- 21:27Speaker 11: let's pick the dates. Donald, I hear you free on Wednesdays.
- 21:32Speaker 2: And of course he won't get two debates because he's
- 21:35Speaker 2: already quit after the first disastrous one. Right from the
- 21:38Speaker 2: start of that first debate with Trump, it was all
- 21:40Speaker 2: over Biden, who showed how confused he was.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Now Australians did half.
- 21:45Speaker 2: We actually got an early warning of Bud's mental decline
- 21:48Speaker 2: when we saw him. Forget our Prime Minister Scott Morrison
- 21:53Speaker 2: at the time his name even at the launch of
- 21:56Speaker 2: our big orchest security deal with the US.
- 21:59Speaker 11: Thank you, Bora, and I want to thank that fellow
- 22:04Speaker 11: down under. Thank you very much. Beoal appreciate mister Premise.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I got to say that said that aucust deal, security
- 22:14Speaker 2: deal with the BARD it's been huge for us and
- 22:16Speaker 2: put that down as a Bardon legacy. Joining me Michael
- 22:19Speaker 2: Kroger from a Victorian Liberal president, Stephen Conor from a
- 22:22Speaker 2: Labor senator. Look, before we get on too domestic politics.
- 22:27Speaker 2: You're just back from from a leadership dialogue. You were
- 22:30Speaker 2: sitting there all hell is breaking loose around you. What
- 22:34Speaker 2: did you pick up the give us some gosts.
- 22:36Speaker 12: Yeah, the main goss was the combination was today. It
- 22:41Speaker 12: was an orchestrated campaign by Clinton, by Obama, by the
- 22:46Speaker 12: senior leadership to get him to go. They they're polling
- 22:49Speaker 12: showed that no matter what they did, how much they spent,
- 22:52Speaker 12: and they spent one hundred million between about January to April,
- 22:56Speaker 12: they could not move the dial. The overwhelming central all Americans,
- 23:00Speaker 12: no matter which party was, Joe Biden was too old
- 23:03Speaker 12: and they could not change that. So they're rationale behind.
- 23:08Speaker 4: And I was looking.
- 23:09Speaker 12: I have a long, long night dinner with one.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Of the operatives.
- 23:14Speaker 12: That was going around all the senators and congressmen and
- 23:17Speaker 12: women saying, here's the polling, here's why you've got to
- 23:20Speaker 12: come out. So in that list of one hundred, my
- 23:22Speaker 12: friend had been going around seeing many of them to
- 23:25Speaker 12: get them to come out, to put the pressure on,
- 23:27Speaker 12: and their view was Biden's twenty percent chance of a win.
- 23:32Speaker 12: This is before the assassination attempts. Biden's twenty percent. We
- 23:36Speaker 12: go to Kamala, it's about forty five percent. We've got
- 23:39Speaker 12: to roll the dice. We're a chance if she can
- 23:41Speaker 12: be focused, if she can stay on those issues, talk
- 23:43Speaker 12: about Project twenty five, talk about abortion, prosecute her case.
- 23:48Speaker 12: But most importantly, Biden is no longer the focus of
- 23:53Speaker 12: the nation's discussion. The Democrats have got to get it
- 23:56Speaker 12: back onto Trump.
- 23:57Speaker 1: He is. I don't think it's ten.
- 23:59Speaker 12: I think it's two or three gaffes away from alienating
- 24:01Speaker 12: that middle independent voter in those key states that Joe
- 24:04Speaker 12: Hockey talked about, and that's the hope. They don't believe
- 24:08Speaker 12: moving to Harris was the answer. To be fair, none
- 24:12Speaker 12: of them wanted Harris, so this is important. They don't
- 24:15Speaker 12: want Harris, but they can't move it. It was the smoothest,
- 24:18Speaker 12: this was the short path in a short time. They
- 24:21Speaker 12: want Whitmer, but they couldn't get her up. They'd lose
- 24:25Speaker 12: the money, all those sorts of factors.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Michael, you predicted that player Buden wouldn't last to
- 24:31Speaker 2: the end. I mean, not a brave prediction, really, he was.
- 24:37Speaker 13: I just saw Cameron Stewart say before that America work up,
- 24:42Speaker 13: and in Washington they were shocked. I'm thinking, what's going
- 24:46Speaker 13: on over there? Can't they read the play?
- 24:48Speaker 2: But Steve is saying that the coup plotters are rating
- 24:52Speaker 2: her chances of winning at about forty five percent.
- 24:55Speaker 13: I wouldn't think so. I mean, she'll be the candidate.
- 24:57Speaker 13: There's a very very small chance to win. Michelle Obama,
- 25:00Speaker 13: don't read anything by the way into Obama not endorsing
- 25:03Speaker 13: Harris because he didn't endorse anyone in the twenty primary.
- 25:06Speaker 13: So that's parf the course for Barack Obama. There's a
- 25:09Speaker 13: small chance she'll run, but I don't think so Obama
- 25:12Speaker 13: would know that Harris is a goose. I mean Obama,
- 25:15Speaker 13: Obama is the I'm not going to put my name
- 25:16Speaker 13: to her. She now will go to the convention. It
- 25:19Speaker 13: won't be a contested convention. They're not going to allow
- 25:22Speaker 13: some minority person to run and make up the whole convention.
- 25:25Speaker 13: I've got to have their vote by August ten because
- 25:29Speaker 13: in Ohio, I read in the Finnstay in Ohio, you
- 25:31Speaker 13: have to nominate your candidate by August. Tend to be
- 25:34Speaker 13: on the ballot. So they'll do a ring around or
- 25:36Speaker 13: however they do it before then. Her vice presidential candidate, well,
- 25:41Speaker 13: it certainly can't be the governor from California, walcause she's
- 25:48Speaker 13: in California, so it can't be him. It won't be Pete.
- 25:51Speaker 13: But to judge, because that'll look too much transfer, well,
- 25:53Speaker 13: it looks like a diversity ticket. But the other thing
- 25:55Speaker 13: you can say is there's zero chance. People talking about
- 25:58Speaker 13: the twenty fifth Amendment being invoked. There is zi ro
- 26:00Speaker 13: chants for the twenty fifth Amendment being in vote.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Because that's where the president's declared mentally by the.
- 26:05Speaker 13: Vice prout and the majority of the cabinets. Harris have
- 26:08Speaker 13: to say that Joe Biden is incapable, she writes the President,
- 26:12Speaker 13: Senate and the Speaker.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Is she going to do that? Of course, listen.
- 26:17Speaker 2: We'll have more on this amazing stuff today our time
- 26:22Speaker 2: later in the show. But to domestopolicies, there was a
- 26:25Speaker 2: news poll come out today in the Australian shows Labor
- 26:30Speaker 2: keeping its tiny had a lead over the coalition, even
- 26:35Speaker 2: even after the CFMUU scandal, you know, exploding his face,
- 26:39Speaker 2: which would concern the liberals. I would have thought that
- 26:41Speaker 2: would have helped them. But anyway, since the voters don't
- 26:44Speaker 2: know why the allegations corruption in the most powerful union matters,
- 26:49Speaker 2: or how it's tied to the aban government, even though
- 26:53Speaker 2: that got two million dollars in the election year to
- 26:55Speaker 2: do the union's bidding. But in Victoria there was more allegations,
- 27:01Speaker 2: more evidence just yesterday that ministers were warned of see
- 27:05Speaker 2: if a new thugery and did almost nothing.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I want you to watch this is incredible.
- 27:09Speaker 2: In May, ash Falters warned the advisor of Victoria's Transport
- 27:14Speaker 2: Infrastructure Minister, Danny Pearson.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Oh, listen, intimidation by the union. It's terrible, it's just
- 27:21Speaker 1: un lawful and all that.
- 27:22Speaker 2: But Pierson, yes, so I refuse again and again to
- 27:24Speaker 2: even say what those allegations really were even now have listen.
- 27:28Speaker 14: Many occurred I think in May involving my office with
- 27:33Speaker 14: the ash Felters and UH and represents from the union,
- 27:38Speaker 14: and those matters were referred on to the department.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Sorry, what did you here?
- 27:43Speaker 2: What did your advice to tell you?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Because you ultimately.
- 27:45Speaker 14: Return Indian Well, those a meeting occurred and it was
- 27:50Speaker 14: referred on to the Director General of the Victorian Infrastructure
- 27:55Speaker 14: Management Authority.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I do agree with.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Sorry, sorry I told us, Yeah, what was it?
- 28:00Speaker 14: What did you get?
- 28:01Speaker 1: What obviously was in the meeting was my offers.
- 28:05Speaker 4: You are the one that preferred.
- 28:08Speaker 14: Well, ultimately the meeting occurred involving my offers, and those
- 28:13Speaker 14: manners were referred on to the Director General of a VETA.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Real telling nothing, idiot, won't tell you stuff that is
- 28:21Speaker 2: important to know. Why, But why isn't the scandal hurting
- 28:25Speaker 2: labor at least federally.
- 28:26Speaker 12: Look, Albow has had a long and consistent position with
- 28:29Speaker 12: regardles the CFMU. He's the one who moved to expel
- 28:32Speaker 12: John was headed Victorian Division. So albo is actually taken
- 28:39Speaker 12: a big step forward and a lead on dealing.
- 28:41Speaker 2: But they took two million bucks around an election year
- 28:46Speaker 2: and did the unions bidding, got rid of the union
- 28:48Speaker 2: building what.
- 28:49Speaker 12: That was a long standing position of lab And let's
- 28:55Speaker 12: be clear, the abc C was an epic failure, just
- 28:58Speaker 12: like the last Role Commission. Last Raw Commission didn't even
- 29:01Speaker 12: call John Seca as a witness.
- 29:03Speaker 2: And I thought I was against that. I thought it
- 29:05Speaker 2: was I thought it was all political. You're right, But
- 29:08Speaker 2: the thing is they missed a real scandal and that
- 29:11Speaker 2: money talks, well, that willun your money talk?
- 29:14Speaker 13: Well, Stephen, are you going to hand the money back
- 29:16Speaker 13: a low part?
- 29:16Speaker 1: Are going to give the money back to the taxpayers?
- 29:18Speaker 1: Were to pay? Yeah?
- 29:19Speaker 12: Correct, haven't haven't put money into No, No, I.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Missed the point.
- 29:26Speaker 2: So I added twenty to thirty percent on costs on
- 29:29Speaker 2: government builds and who pays those government bills? Government bills?
- 29:34Speaker 1: Where do they're asking questions about it?
- 29:36Speaker 2: Alban in federal why didn't they give them money?
- 29:38Speaker 12: Why hasn't it had an impact? Has an impact because
- 29:40Speaker 12: Albo has had an absolutely firm position.
- 29:43Speaker 13: The man with the elbow is the man on this issue.
- 29:45Speaker 13: You can trust album. Let's listen to Andrew. The dogs
- 29:48Speaker 13: have been barking about the c FM and Victoria for
- 29:51Speaker 13: more than a decade. Right Labor, this government, Victoria. They
- 29:55Speaker 13: know all about this. They knew everything that's going on.
- 29:57Speaker 13: Don't try and tell me that Piers and he needs
- 30:00Speaker 13: an Academy award. Don't tell me they didn't know. They
- 30:03Speaker 13: know everything that's been going on. To see for me
- 30:04Speaker 13: here they turned a blind eye to it. And shame
- 30:07Speaker 13: on Allen and Daniel Anders and all of those people.
- 30:10Speaker 13: Let's hope they fools.
- 30:14Speaker 12: Just a very funny historical fact. So these guys never
- 30:17Speaker 12: voted from my life. In nineteen eighty five the registration
- 30:21Speaker 12: of the BLF, I got sued by the BLF for defamation.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Well don't up for the CFM, and I never stick.
- 30:27Speaker 12: Up for them and actually apologized eight hundred and fifty dollars.
- 30:31Speaker 1: They're in nineteen eighty far up were good and they
- 30:34Speaker 1: should could go, ladies. Everything should got to go. Michael
- 30:39Speaker 1: got to go after.
- 30:39Speaker 2: The break, Could Kamala Harris actually beat Donald Trump?
- 30:44Speaker 1: A warning coming up? That's president.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Kamala Harris hasn't made a public appearance in Joe Budden
- 30:52Speaker 2: Quintin said that she'd be the Democratic nomination in the
- 30:55Speaker 2: November elections Tom Trump. But she's already made it clear
- 30:58Speaker 2: that she will run and it's going to get very personal.
- 31:03Speaker 2: She tweeted, I will do everything in my power to
- 31:05Speaker 2: unite the Democratic Party and unite our nation to defeat
- 31:08Speaker 2: Donald Trump and his extreme project twenty twenty five agenda.
- 31:13Speaker 1: That's just fear mongering.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Of course, the twenty twenty five Agenda is actually a
- 31:18Speaker 2: paper by some conservative think tank, and Trump says it's
- 31:21Speaker 2: too extreme, and you know hasn't bothered reading most of it,
- 31:24Speaker 2: doesn't endorse it, So standby for a lot more mud
- 31:27Speaker 2: and misinformation. Joining me is John Heinderakers, the president of
- 31:32Speaker 2: the Center for American Progress and writer with the Fantastic
- 31:35Speaker 2: power Line blog. John Heinderrecher, great to see you again.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Look at Kamala Harris is look almost there's certain to
- 31:42Speaker 2: be the Democrats candidate at the election. Can the Democrats
- 31:45Speaker 2: now win with her like they couldn't with Biden.
- 31:50Speaker 9: Well, I think they cared, Andrew. But before we jump
- 31:53Speaker 9: to that conclusion, let me just point out that Joe
- 31:57Speaker 9: Biden withdrew from the race almost in mediately endorsed Kamala Harris.
- 32:02Speaker 9: Bill and Hillary Clinton jumped in endorsed Harris. But the
- 32:06Speaker 9: New York Times rushed out an editorial saying, you know,
- 32:10Speaker 9: not so fast. We want an open process where the
- 32:14Speaker 9: leaders can choose the best candidate at the convention. And
- 32:19Speaker 9: Barack Obama put out a tweet which echoed that theme,
- 32:24Speaker 9: Let's have an open process, and he never mentioned Kamala Harris.
- 32:28Speaker 9: So I don't know, Andrew, we may very well be
- 32:31Speaker 9: in for excitement, some excitement here in the Democratic Party
- 32:34Speaker 9: over the next couple of weeks.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Well, I agree, that's already a bad start in terms
- 32:41Speaker 2: of the enthusiasm, fact that they desperately need to get.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Out the vote.
- 32:45Speaker 2: But to Kamala, you know, I've said she presents us
- 32:49Speaker 2: in her head, that's widely sort of that's her image. Now,
- 32:53Speaker 2: she's been a total failure in the one clear job
- 32:55Speaker 2: that Joe Biden gave it, which was to stop illegal immigrants.
- 33:00Speaker 2: But are we at a risk of underestimating her?
- 33:05Speaker 9: Andrew I think we are assuming that she does get
- 33:07Speaker 9: the nomination, and frankly, I think the Democrats would be
- 33:10Speaker 9: crazy not to rally behind her assuming that she gets
- 33:14Speaker 9: the nomination. The problem Republicans have is that Donald Trump
- 33:19Speaker 9: has got such a low ceiling. I mean, here he's
- 33:22Speaker 9: been pulling against Joe Biden, who falls down and can't
- 33:26Speaker 9: read a teleprompter. Donald Trump is not over forty eight
- 33:30Speaker 9: percent in any battleground state. Yes, Kamala Harris is an airhead,
- 33:37Speaker 9: but she doesn't fall down and she can't read a teleprompter.
- 33:41Speaker 9: I think this race is going to be too close
- 33:44Speaker 9: to call.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Wow Wow, Well okay, look, I don't know something. Trump
- 33:51Speaker 2: should have the edge, but I've got to admit identity
- 33:55Speaker 2: politics helps Kamala Harris. Right, the black vote, the women's vote.
- 34:01Speaker 2: How do you think that bit is going to play out?
- 34:03Speaker 2: Especially with the Lyft claiming, well, you know, for the
- 34:06Speaker 2: women's vote, Trump just doesn't threaten emotion rights, but it's
- 34:11Speaker 2: now threatening the right to contraception, which I think is
- 34:13Speaker 2: a stretch. But I mean they're going with it.
- 34:16Speaker 9: Well, it's ridiculous, Andrew, As you know, here's what I
- 34:19Speaker 9: would say. I don't think identity politics are as powerful
- 34:23Speaker 9: as they once were, and you see that with the
- 34:25Speaker 9: way Trump is pulling among blacks and Hispanics, he may
- 34:28Speaker 9: carry the Hispanic vote this year. What I do think
- 34:32Speaker 9: is that the press will get behind Kamala And one
- 34:35Speaker 9: thing that we're going to hear just nauseatingly is first
- 34:40Speaker 9: woman president. Remember that at twenty sixteen they played that
- 34:43Speaker 9: too with Hillary Clinton. We're going to hear it again.
- 34:46Speaker 9: This is our opportunity to elect the first woman president.
- 34:49Speaker 9: I think that's the main place where identity politics will
- 34:53Speaker 9: play a role.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Yeah, except we shouldn't forget that when she did have
- 34:58Speaker 2: a chance to actually put her case to get elected,
- 35:02Speaker 2: that was in the primaries, the Democrat primaries of Joe
- 35:05Speaker 2: Biden won four years ago, she was so hopeless that
- 35:10Speaker 2: she had to bow out without it before a single
- 35:14Speaker 2: vote had been cast. Now we can imagine a new
- 35:18Speaker 2: Kamala Harris that's really crisp and hot at it in debates.
- 35:22Speaker 2: But that is someone we have to imagine. She hasn't
- 35:25Speaker 2: actually demonstrated that, or have I overlooked some performances that
- 35:29Speaker 2: you've noticed that make you say, wait a minute, this
- 35:32Speaker 2: woman's got it.
- 35:35Speaker 9: And you're absolutely right in twenty twenty. She was gone
- 35:38Speaker 9: before the Iowa caucases. I mean, the voters just didn't
- 35:43Speaker 9: like her, and there is no evidence that she's done
- 35:46Speaker 9: anything in the last four years to make the voters
- 35:50Speaker 9: like her better. And some other things have come out.
- 35:52Speaker 9: I mean, she's a rather nasty person. She has terrible
- 35:56Speaker 9: problems managing a staff or staff turnover is just unbelievably high.
- 36:02Speaker 9: And she is not in anywhere formidable candidate. But half
- 36:06Speaker 9: the voters will not vote for Donald Trump under any circumstances.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I've been really gagging at some of the hypocrisy here,
- 36:16Speaker 2: John that all this praise here too, by the way,
- 36:20Speaker 2: as well as from Obama and you know, from the
- 36:23Speaker 2: New York Times all these other Oh Joe Biden is
- 36:26Speaker 2: and the patriotic decision has put country above self, you know.
- 36:31Speaker 1: And look what nonsense. He was blasted out. And he
- 36:36Speaker 1: only gave up.
- 36:37Speaker 2: When it was clear that he had no money, no support,
- 36:41Speaker 2: and no pole support either, no support from his own
- 36:45Speaker 2: senators and congressmen. And he quit too late for the
- 36:49Speaker 2: Democrats to get their best candidates run against him.
- 36:52Speaker 9: Spare is this hypocrisy, as you here, completely correct. Joe
- 36:58Speaker 9: Biden was forced to walk the plank with a cutlass
- 37:02Speaker 9: at his back. He and Jill held on to power
- 37:06Speaker 9: as long as they possibly could. You know, a year
- 37:09Speaker 9: ago I predicted that Joe Biden would not be the
- 37:12Speaker 9: Democrats nominee in twenty twenty four, I said they would
- 37:16Speaker 9: be crazy to dominate Joe Biden. And that prediction came true,
- 37:20Speaker 9: but much too late.
- 37:22Speaker 2: If you're a Democrat, well you said it's now a
- 37:27Speaker 2: fifty to fifty rice. But if you really had to
- 37:31Speaker 2: put your lovely house that you're sitting in there on this,
- 37:36Speaker 2: what would you call the election result?
- 37:39Speaker 1: Andrew?
- 37:39Speaker 9: At the end of the day, I don't think that
- 37:42Speaker 9: Kamala Harris can run away from the record of the
- 37:45Speaker 9: Biden administration. And as I've said before, I didn't think
- 37:48Speaker 9: that a president with a record as terrible as Joe
- 37:51Speaker 9: Biden's could be re elected, and I'll stand by that
- 37:56Speaker 9: with Kamala Harris, I think Trump is going to win.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Yes, I think they did the right thing in getting
- 38:03Speaker 2: a new generation candidate instead, but you've got to have
- 38:06Speaker 2: a new generation agenda as she is tied to the
- 38:09Speaker 2: agenda of Joe Biden. Over the last three and a
- 38:12Speaker 2: half years, John Hunderaker, Thank you so much for your time.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Great to be with you, Andrew.
- 38:19Speaker 2: After the break back to Australia, a government inquiry into
- 38:22Speaker 2: women's pain asks trans women to give evidence of it.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Can you believe that?
- 38:28Speaker 2: Plus why foreign miers of Penny Wong should never have
- 38:31Speaker 2: encouraged this Palestinian hardliner now have worn before that labor
- 38:40Speaker 2: has encouraged extremism with its attacks on Israel, with being
- 38:44Speaker 2: too pro Palestinian, and now a really disturbing example of
- 38:48Speaker 2: exactly that, how foreigners of Penny Wog helped to turn
- 38:52Speaker 2: Nasa Mashni into mister Palestine. Wog posted a picture of
- 38:55Speaker 2: herself with Nashley, president of Austrian Palestinian Avacy Network, saying
- 38:59Speaker 2: she'd offered him her deepest condolences following the devastating explosion
- 39:04Speaker 2: of the Gaza City Hospital, which she at the time
- 39:06Speaker 2: falsely implied had been attacked by Israel, had in fact
- 39:10Speaker 2: been hit by a malfunctioning terrorist rocket. Now, while isn't
- 39:13Speaker 2: the only labor politician to oppose with Mashni and promote him,
- 39:17Speaker 2: so's federal Labor MP Jed Khni. But as I pointed
- 39:21Speaker 2: out before, Mashni is the son of a so called
- 39:25Speaker 2: refugee who came here falsely claiming to be a Christian
- 39:28Speaker 2: fleeing persecution in Muslim Lebanon. I was in Actually this
- 39:32Speaker 2: is the father an extremist so close to this isn't
- 39:35Speaker 2: the SAMAS terrorist group that a message from Hamasa's leader
- 39:39Speaker 2: is Haneia was read out at his funeral and now
- 39:43Speaker 2: it read reports of Mashni the son his outburst this
- 39:47Speaker 2: month in on an online panelful Eco Socialism twenty twenty four,
- 39:52Speaker 2: alongside former Palestinian militant leis La Khaled. Now Mashni col
- 39:57Speaker 2: kharded a hero, although she'd actually being jailed for helping
- 40:01Speaker 2: to hijack two airplanes in ninety seventy and taking passengers hostage.
- 40:07Speaker 1: This is a hero.
- 40:09Speaker 2: And worse was how Mashni praiser by vilifying Australia for
- 40:13Speaker 2: denying her a visa to come here. In person, he said,
- 40:16Speaker 2: our hero Leila was denied the opportunity to come here
- 40:19Speaker 2: because this settler, colonial, this racist country denied her a visa.
- 40:24Speaker 1: And it's not the first.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Time Mashnee has expressed a seeming contempt for Australia. Regularly
- 40:30Speaker 2: speaks at anti Israel protests and at one he said
- 40:33Speaker 2: he objected it had done for years to Palestinians flying
- 40:37Speaker 2: the Australian flag.
- 40:39Speaker 3: I know you feel that waiving the Australian flag might
- 40:43Speaker 3: make a racist white person think that you're acceptable, But
- 40:47Speaker 3: that is the colonized flag.
- 40:49Speaker 4: It does not belong here.
- 40:54Speaker 1: It does not belong here.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Something doesn't belong here in this eco social summer dimensioned
- 41:01Speaker 2: Nationally also said he wanted Israel gone, and some time
- 41:04Speaker 2: ago he explained his bigger agenda on his three cur
- 41:07Speaker 2: radio show. As he keeps saying, you know, the anti
- 41:11Speaker 2: Israel push is not just anti Israel, it is anti
- 41:14Speaker 2: the West. It's anti asks The Age report him saying
- 41:18Speaker 2: Israel is the domino Israel falls over the world is
- 41:22Speaker 2: a better place once we destroy Western imperialist control of
- 41:27Speaker 2: the world. More dangerous than Mahi, says, Aborigines face the
- 41:30Speaker 2: same enemy as Palestinians, colonialism. He says, Israel and Australia
- 41:36Speaker 2: are both Western European set the colony constructs and has
- 41:39Speaker 2: therefore formed alliances with race bat he said of Lydia
- 41:42Speaker 2: Thorpe and the extremist warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance selling
- 41:47Speaker 2: badges of Aboriginal Palestinian flags into twined. Now can you
- 41:50Speaker 2: imagine the hell we would face if some Aborigines did
- 41:54Speaker 2: decide to resist Australian colonialism the way Palestinian extreme resists Israel.
- 42:03Speaker 2: So Israel's fight really is our fight too. They're not
- 42:07Speaker 2: quite like Mashnie means. It's a fight for Western civilization
- 42:11Speaker 2: against the nas Babarians and tribalists and terrorism and set
- 42:15Speaker 2: one would be for Wong to now apologize for ever
- 42:18Speaker 2: giving Mashni the credibility he does not deserve, and we
- 42:23Speaker 2: can't afford joining me. Daniel Wild, Deputy Executive director of
- 42:27Speaker 2: the Issue of Public Effasins. Stephen Tjavura, an author and
- 42:29Speaker 2: senior lecture in history at campi In College. Stephen, to
- 42:31Speaker 2: you first, isn't this a symptom of Labour's wider problem,
- 42:36Speaker 2: the kind of voices it's encouraged by being so critical
- 42:40Speaker 2: of Israel and so muted about palis in the extremism.
- 42:44Speaker 15: Absolutely, Labor have been sending mixed messages on this for
- 42:48Speaker 15: a very long time. I mean very soon after the
- 42:50Speaker 15: October seventh attacks, Penny Wong was sending about ten million
- 42:54Speaker 15: dollars over to Gaza and everyone knew that that money
- 42:58Speaker 15: is probably going to go to hamas they should never
- 43:00Speaker 15: have done that. And the whole Voice campaign as well,
- 43:03Speaker 15: the whole the basic premise of it was that Australia
- 43:06Speaker 15: is a racist, colonialist enterprise. That was implicit in the
- 43:11Speaker 15: ULARU statement from the heart. So it's no wonder that
- 43:14Speaker 15: they've completely underestimated a very dark underbelly of a lot
- 43:19Speaker 15: of Australian parts of Australian immigrant communities that bring their
- 43:25Speaker 15: old world hatreds over here and quite frankly, a lot
- 43:28Speaker 15: of them just don't just detest Israel, but they detest.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Jews as well.
- 43:33Speaker 15: And this is a guy also, Nassir Kmashni, who was
- 43:38Speaker 15: on Q and A. The ABC gave him a platform
- 43:40Speaker 15: on Q and A.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Tran Yeah, no, obviously it's not all. It's just some
- 43:48Speaker 2: of these voices. But seriously, Daniel, it sometimes attracts me
- 43:52Speaker 2: that Labor is playing with fire as it will not
- 43:54Speaker 2: be able to put out.
- 43:55Speaker 16: Well, that's right, they've got the Palestinian tail wagon, the
- 43:58Speaker 16: Labor dog. We know this from the electoral situation in
- 44:01Speaker 16: Western Sydney and parts of Melbourne where you have thirty
- 44:04Speaker 16: plus percent of voters there of a Muslim background. Now
- 44:07Speaker 16: I'm not saying they all think the same way, of course,
- 44:09Speaker 16: I'm not saying they all support Palestine, but enough of
- 44:11Speaker 16: them do. And there's been a complete and total failure
- 44:13Speaker 16: of leadership. Stephen was quite right to point out it
- 44:15Speaker 16: all started with the Prime Minister and half a billion
- 44:18Speaker 16: dollars to divide us by race and the constitution. It
- 44:20Speaker 16: set us up for failure. Now we've got massive sectarian conflict.
- 44:24Speaker 16: I can't remember this kind of conflict. I think it's
- 44:25Speaker 16: worse than at any time since World War Two. We've
- 44:28Speaker 16: abandoned our only democratic ally in the Middle East. I'm
- 44:31Speaker 16: not saying Israel is perfect, but it is a democratic
- 44:33Speaker 16: ally there. And I've got to say I think things
- 44:35Speaker 16: are going to get a lot worse before they get
- 44:37Speaker 16: better under this government.
- 44:38Speaker 1: I afraid. So look to another thing that really intrigued me.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Britney Higgins.
- 44:43Speaker 2: She got paid two point four million dollars by the
- 44:46Speaker 2: Albanizi government for, among other things, supposedly having a rape
- 44:49Speaker 2: byliberal colleague covered up by the Morrison government. In fact,
- 44:52Speaker 2: her claims are bullying related found by judge of me false.
- 44:55Speaker 2: But now she's selling the French hardaway she bought late
- 44:58Speaker 2: last year in the Beautiful France, and supposed to claim
- 45:03Speaker 2: this was because the price of speaking out about sexual
- 45:05Speaker 2: assault remains unspeakably high. Brittany is now forced to sell
- 45:08Speaker 2: her home in order to defend herself again. In fact,
- 45:11Speaker 2: Stephen her legal bills are hard because she accused her
- 45:13Speaker 2: former boss, then defense mins of Linda Reynolds of covering
- 45:16Speaker 2: up her rape, and Reynolds is suing her, so shelling
- 45:21Speaker 2: her house. Says that really the price is speaking out
- 45:23Speaker 2: about sexual assault or the price of making claims of
- 45:26Speaker 2: a cover up that a judge said were untrue.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 45:31Speaker 15: Justice Michael Lee said that her allegations of a Liberal
- 45:35Speaker 15: Party cover up, specifically implicating Fiona Brown, the chief of staff,
- 45:41Speaker 15: and Linda Reynolds, were basically without foundation, basically all but
- 45:46Speaker 15: called her a liar for that, and this is why
- 45:49Speaker 15: she's facing the trouble. So she's facing and everything now
- 45:51Speaker 15: is unraveling, not just for Britney Higgins, but for Labor.
- 45:55Speaker 15: Labor gave her that two point four million dollars, It
- 45:58Speaker 15: was streamlined, it wasn't screwed lies and now everything is
- 46:01Speaker 15: falling apart. Britney Higgins was held up as some role
- 46:06Speaker 15: model for girls. But we forget that. Brittney Higgins, according
- 46:09Speaker 15: to Justice Michael Lee, seems to have targeted other women,
- 46:14Speaker 15: almost destroying their careers for what would say, seems that yeah, absolutely.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Well, not necessarily personal gain. I don't know, but certainly
- 46:26Speaker 2: there was an agenda there. But can I ask you
- 46:28Speaker 2: for something else before we run out of time, Daniel.
- 46:30Speaker 2: The Victorian government has called an inquiry into women's pain,
- 46:34Speaker 2: you know, things like menopause and Andrew.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Metri Is metrosis.
- 46:41Speaker 2: But it is invited to speak on these women's only issues.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Trans women, people born male.
- 46:51Speaker 2: It's actually said anyone wants anyone who identifies as women,
- 46:55Speaker 2: although they may have a different sex of birth.
- 46:57Speaker 1: What do you make of this?
- 46:58Speaker 16: Well, this encapsulates the modern Labor Party. How does this
- 47:01Speaker 16: help an outer suburban working class woman that's battling away
- 47:04Speaker 16: for a better future for her family.
- 47:06Speaker 1: And her kids.
- 47:07Speaker 16: The modern Labour Party is about mass migration, climates in litry,
- 47:10Speaker 16: and wokism. I think that Julie Guillard wrote a very
- 47:13Speaker 16: perceptive article about a month ago in The Australian.
- 47:15Speaker 1: I don't agree with.
- 47:16Speaker 16: All of it, but one of the points that she
- 47:17Speaker 16: basically made was that the excesses of feminism have alienated
- 47:21Speaker 16: significant subsets of the population, especially young men. And we're
- 47:25Speaker 16: seeing a big reaction to wokism and the feminized nature
- 47:29Speaker 16: of our society. And I would go further there. It's
- 47:31Speaker 16: not just young men, but it's anyone who's not in
- 47:34Speaker 16: these inner city elite circles looked at this behavior by
- 47:37Speaker 16: all means have an inquiry to how to make women's
- 47:39Speaker 16: health better. When you're talking about having men and others participate,
- 47:43Speaker 16: people look at it and say, well, look, what does
- 47:45Speaker 16: the Labor Party stand for these days?
- 47:47Speaker 2: Stephen, what do you make of that? I've only got
- 47:49Speaker 2: twenty seconds. What do you make of it?
- 47:51Speaker 1: Women?
- 47:52Speaker 15: Men are not going to rescue you on this because
- 47:54Speaker 15: this is a problem that really doesn't affect men. We're
- 47:56Speaker 15: not intimidated by women in our change rooms when we
- 48:00Speaker 15: can beat them at sports.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Men are not going to rescue you here. Women, you
- 48:03Speaker 1: need to stand up.
- 48:04Speaker 15: For yourselves and to quote soljier Nitsen, live not by lies.
- 48:08Speaker 15: Don't compete in sports against boys and men. Don't give
- 48:13Speaker 15: your business to businesses that don't respect women's places, don't
- 48:17Speaker 15: use fake pronouns, don't fall for this bullying. Stand up
- 48:21Speaker 15: for yourselves, Stephen Trevera, well said Daniel Wild, Thank you
- 48:26Speaker 15: so much in d for your time.
- 48:27Speaker 1: That's it for me. Coming up next Dniko di Giorgio
- 48:30Speaker 1: with Cherry. Good Night,
