- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:17Speaker 3: I heard Evan you pooh pooing the whole thing that
- 0:23Speaker 3: this might be a tough game.
- 0:25Speaker 2: You poo pooed it? What Evan? All right?
- 0:28Speaker 3: Well, the games in hands, so let's talk about is
- 0:30Speaker 3: Diehard at Christmas?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Boola?
- 0:31Speaker 2: The Jets? You just never know in this league.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Patriots forty two ten, that's a lot of work to
- 0:38Speaker 3: be able to buy a car, keep it secret, have
- 0:40Speaker 3: it there on Christmas.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It looks like it's unrealistic. I find I find the
- 0:44Speaker 2: actual analysis of the games to be interested. Oh so
- 0:46Speaker 2: we do. Wow. I don't just pick and choose the
- 0:49Speaker 2: analysis of the games that I liked. The way they
- 0:51Speaker 2: finished Elanoisjonson.
- 0:53Speaker 1: You can scold it.
- 0:54Speaker 3: No, I just like your pants have been pulled down
- 0:57Speaker 3: and you've been spaying. It's not a mind Internet audience.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They've been better than Houston all year. No, they haven't.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Not lately.
- 1:04Speaker 3: No, I don't think so. I disagree. Everyone's scared to Houston.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I'm told that's see that's your problem.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Houston as well. This is Patriots Unfiltered,

- 1:21Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:25Speaker 3: at you Let Stadium, home of the AFC East Champs.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Right, that's right, baby, we're back.
- 1:33Speaker 3: The East runs through Foxborough.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's all I am saying. Right now, right, that's all
- 1:38Speaker 2: you're saying. Freddie feels forty two to ten on a heater.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Freddie feels on a heater.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Pretty cool.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Listen, been there won that. I'm starting to feel a
- 1:46Speaker 2: little vibe. Oh vibe?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Really yeah, what kind of vibe is this?
- 1:51Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Back in two thousand and one, you know, we needed
- 1:55Speaker 3: help from the Carolina Panthers at the end of the season. No,
- 1:58Speaker 3: we beat the Carolina Panthers to wrap up the AFC East.
- 2:01Speaker 3: We needed help from, of all teams, the New York
- 2:04Speaker 3: Jets to upset the Raiders last game of the season
- 2:09Speaker 3: in order to get a buye.
- 2:10Speaker 2: There were two buys right.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Right right, and we were on the plane and trying
- 2:16Speaker 3: to follow the game through the staticky little TV thirty
- 2:19Speaker 3: thousand feet and you know, at the end of the day,
- 2:22Speaker 3: the Jets ended up pulling off. Hall hit a fifty
- 2:25Speaker 3: three yard field goal to put them ahead, and it
- 2:30Speaker 3: just reminded me this year we were doing the same
- 2:32Speaker 3: thing on the bus watching the game and seeing if
- 2:35Speaker 3: the Eagles, you know, could pull out the win. And
- 2:40Speaker 3: they did, and you know it wasn't for a buye
- 2:42Speaker 3: but it was the same kind of feeling.
- 2:44Speaker 4: You know, Well, you guys were on the plane, slash bus,
- 2:48Speaker 4: slash wherever when it where We're exactly where when you
- 2:51Speaker 4: found out.
- 2:51Speaker 3: We were on the bus coming from Providence Airport to
- 2:55Speaker 3: the stadium when the game finally ended.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, right down to the end. I mean it was
- 3:00Speaker 1: I couldn't believe.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Like he was open in the NFL, I don't know
- 3:03Speaker 3: what he missed him, Yeah, he missed he was open. Now,
- 3:08Speaker 3: I think they should have just taken the extra point.
- 3:11Speaker 3: They had all the momentum.
- 3:14Speaker 1: They literally couldn't. The field goal kicker stinks, I know, but.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but that was the cover. But I don't
- 3:27Speaker 2: I don't think, well, you don't have to.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Yeah, we could do that later in the week. Now
- 3:32Speaker 4: quick aside what they did. It just I said to
- 3:36Speaker 4: you guys. It feels like Josh Allen has to leave
- 3:38Speaker 4: a piece of his soul on the field every time
- 3:40Speaker 4: he plays. Now, I just I don't know how they
- 3:42Speaker 4: fix it. But he's a great player, but there's just so.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Much on him right now.
- 3:46Speaker 2: All right. So that's that's the Bills.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Thank you Eagles for making it a little easier for
- 3:52Speaker 3: the Patriots to get the AFC East. I mean, the
- 3:57Speaker 3: game is not even worth talking about it. I mean literally,
- 4:03Speaker 3: I didn't know a player.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Out in the field by the fourth. I don't know
- 4:07Speaker 2: our own guys. I don't know any and he's just still.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Hold quarter guys like that. Come on, there's some.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I'm exaggerating a little bit. It was a preseason, did
- 4:17Speaker 3: you have eyes on?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Fred?
- 4:19Speaker 4: Caught his first NFL pass and then caught his first touchdown.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Let me tell you, had they wanted to, he could
- 4:26Speaker 3: have caught ten passes that.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, easily.
- 4:29Speaker 2: They wanted to.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Can't cover.
- 4:30Speaker 3: They're trying to keep him down, you know, because they
- 4:33Speaker 3: don't want. They don't want, they don't want.
- 4:35Speaker 1: To reveal this yet.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I don't think he's wrong, but I don't think Fred's wrong.
- 4:38Speaker 2: They didn't cover anybody the whole day. He could have
- 4:41Speaker 2: had ten catches. Sometimes literally there was literally like one
- 4:44Speaker 2: contested catch where Diggs lost a guy on the sideline.
- 4:47Speaker 2: That was it. Every other guy like reminder, Stevenson running
- 4:51Speaker 2: the defensive and Jason twenty yards field. Yeah, I mean
- 4:55Speaker 2: it was it was not Yeah, a great, great day
- 4:58Speaker 2: by Drake may Mike five career high, five touchdowns, not
- 5:03Speaker 2: exactly a lot of high level of difficulty throws.
- 5:06Speaker 3: But it was just the perfect medicine for the Patriots. Perfect,
- 5:09Speaker 3: you know, just like that to rest guys at the end.
- 5:12Speaker 3: You know, you didn't lose any sleep over it so great,
- 5:17Speaker 3: and you know, I think Miami game is gonna be
- 5:19Speaker 3: a little tougher than this one. Yeah, but it was
- 5:22Speaker 3: just perfect medicine I think going into week eighteen.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it was just credit to them for coming out
- 5:26Speaker 4: and just leaving no doubt.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I mean it was, what was.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Six plays right down the field, three and out right
- 5:33Speaker 4: down the field, interception right down the field. I mean
- 5:36Speaker 4: it's just that that's exactly what you were hoping for
- 5:38Speaker 4: and we haven't. You know, this is a new team
- 5:40Speaker 4: to us still, but you're learning about them and you're
- 5:42Speaker 4: seeing when they go and play a team that's kind
- 5:44Speaker 4: of packing it in. They didn't blink. They just went
- 5:47Speaker 4: down there and hammered them like that, like they should.
- 5:48Speaker 4: So it's a I'd like to see more of the
- 5:50Speaker 4: same this weekend against the Dolphins. But just I mean
- 5:53Speaker 4: watching Drake in that game, he just looked it was
- 5:55Speaker 4: like the the pinnacle of everything we've seen all year,
- 5:58Speaker 4: where he's just comfortable in the He's calm, cool, collected
- 6:01Speaker 4: and just putting them out there first guys.
- 6:03Speaker 3: So I know we're gonna get And I've already seen
- 6:05Speaker 3: emails about, oh, you know, what should they do next week?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Should they rest? Guys?
- 6:09Speaker 5: Know?
- 6:10Speaker 3: I mean, they still have to keep the number two seed.
- 6:12Speaker 3: There is a chance that they could drop to the
- 6:14Speaker 3: number three seed if a few things happen. Now I
- 6:18Speaker 3: don't know if those things.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Jacksonville wins.
- 6:23Speaker 3: But when is Jacksonville playing?
- 6:24Speaker 2: What time? Okay, so we'll know, so we'll know.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I think it's one.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So if Jacksonville wins, there's a lot a lot of
- 6:32Speaker 2: four o'clock games, but I don't know when that yees.
- 6:34Speaker 3: So I still think you still have to play, at
- 6:37Speaker 3: least until you know the games in hand. If if
- 6:39Speaker 3: that happens at all because you don't want to drop
- 6:41Speaker 3: to number three.
- 6:42Speaker 2: You want to keep number two.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that ensures you have home playoff game up until
- 6:47Speaker 3: and if you have to play the Broncos.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Jakes are at one.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and it looks like.
- 6:52Speaker 3: The Broncos are going to win because the Chargers have
- 6:55Speaker 3: already announced that they're which I think is a conspiracy.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Really yeah, I think I think Jim Harbaugh is doing
- 7:02Speaker 3: this for John Harbaugh.
- 7:04Speaker 1: This one's for John brother.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Somehow John told Jim I want to play the Patriots again,
- 7:11Speaker 3: and so you know there's a way. Yeah, it's a
- 7:14Speaker 3: long you need to die story.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a long story. It took seven minutes for
- 7:21Speaker 2: me to regret giving you all the props that I
- 7:22Speaker 2: gave you to start the show.
- 7:23Speaker 3: But there's no there is uh yeah, there there's a
- 7:28Speaker 3: reason why. It could it be justin I just don't
- 7:32Speaker 3: want to do us anything.
- 7:33Speaker 2: It is broken, after all, I don't want to do
- 7:35Speaker 2: against the best edge players in the league.
- 7:38Speaker 6: Man.
- 7:39Speaker 2: That has something to do with it. Now, I even alone,
- 7:42Speaker 2: he's on a roll.
- 7:43Speaker 4: No, I mean I've started diving into the Chargers and
- 7:46Speaker 4: I think that seems like the matchup is going to be.
- 7:48Speaker 4: But I got to take all access this morning, the
- 7:51Speaker 4: Big Boys show check it out Friday busy.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Now we can now he promoted, we can promote all access.
- 7:59Speaker 4: But I mean, I just honestly feel any one of
- 8:02Speaker 4: these teams in the a FC, except for maybe Pittsburgh, UH,
- 8:05Speaker 4: could come out of it. And there's reasons, pluses and
- 8:07Speaker 4: minuses for every single team. And who do you want
- 8:09Speaker 4: to play? And I'm like, well, either way, no matter
- 8:12Speaker 4: who they play, they're gonna have to play great and
- 8:14Speaker 4: they're you know, there's gonna be challenges from each as teams.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Chargers got a good defense, but they're banged up a tackle,
- 8:19Speaker 4: Herbert's banged up.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And I think Charges, to me, are the weakest team
- 8:23Speaker 3: going in. You said Pittsburgh.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Pittsburgh as far as the weakest team, it's the only
- 8:29Speaker 2: team doesn't have a chance to come out of the AFC.
- 8:31Speaker 2: You say that, but then they keep winning. They keep
- 8:33Speaker 2: winning the so what they're in the playoffs and no
- 8:38Speaker 2: they're not. What do you mean they're Remember they have
- 8:43Speaker 2: to beat the Ravens.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Right, they have to win a game to get in,
- 8:46Speaker 4: and they've got a conspiracy going against them.
- 8:48Speaker 7: Now for.
- 8:51Speaker 3: There's no team in the AFC based on what the
- 8:54Speaker 3: landscape looks at that I count out.
- 8:56Speaker 2: No Jackonville. I don't cant that out. I don't count
- 9:00Speaker 2: them out. I think six teams have a chance. Pittsburgh.
- 9:02Speaker 2: If Pittsburgh beats Baltimore, Pittsburgh.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Is the only one.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I wouldn't give Backsville. If Baltimore wins, I'd say all
- 9:07Speaker 2: seven average like this beats Baltimore. What does that say?
- 9:12Speaker 2: That means that they beat Baltimore. Okay, but I don't
- 9:15Speaker 2: think they're very good. I don't think they're capable of
- 9:17Speaker 2: winning four games. They're good enough to beat Baltimore, Yeah,
- 9:19Speaker 2: that's fine. I don't think they're good enough to win
- 9:21Speaker 2: three games in a row, all right?
- 9:23Speaker 1: In the playoffs, I might, don't you, but I don't.
- 9:24Speaker 2: I think the quarterback is by far the worst quarterback
- 9:27Speaker 2: out of the playoff teams in the AFS, but capable
- 9:30Speaker 2: of having a good game game. Yes, not going to
- 9:33Speaker 2: the super Bowl, all right? All right, so and he
- 9:36Speaker 2: also capable putting, you know, play in an again. One
- 9:40Speaker 2: of the worst teams in.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Football at this point, I'd rather play the Chargers than Pittsburgh. Okay,
- 9:46Speaker 3: one game, I would I wouldn't.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind seeing old old Burgh.
- 9:51Speaker 2: So you can't. You can't. You can't play Pittsburgh Baltimore
- 9:55Speaker 2: until the year. Yeah, I guess it would be the
- 9:58Speaker 2: championship right two for yeah?
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Well unless one of the wild card teams that
- 10:04Speaker 1: plays in Denver, then I guess you could theory.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Right three loses and yeah yeah somebody low yep, I
- 10:11Speaker 4: guess that's way.
- 10:11Speaker 1: We don't need to get a popsicle aheaded.
- 10:13Speaker 3: At some point, I do want to talk about the
- 10:15Speaker 3: Drake May nickname I have warmed up to Drake Drake
- 10:20Speaker 3: May May. I totally get it. I've done the research.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I understand how it started. I like the reasoning.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I literally explained it to you last week. But you mean.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Independent sort of a technical thing that we didn't get right.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Somebody called into the postgame show and it offered a
- 10:37Speaker 2: huge piece of the puzzle that I was not aware
- 10:40Speaker 2: of until that. That's the only thing we'll see if
- 10:42Speaker 2: that's the Tom Brady part of it. What about hadn't
- 10:45Speaker 2: heard that?
- 10:45Speaker 1: What about Tom Brady?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Evidently the Drake May lover is the one who someone
- 10:49Speaker 2: said it's Drake tom Brady May and the Drake May
- 10:52Speaker 2: lover said no, no, no, no, no, he's too good
- 10:54Speaker 2: for that. It's Drake Drake may May right, that's however
- 10:56Speaker 2: it is. That's how it came about. And I love
- 10:59Speaker 2: not funny historic. That's a big difference. It makes sense
- 11:03Speaker 2: to me.
- 11:03Speaker 8: I like it.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I gave that guy props on the Postgame Show. The
- 11:07Speaker 2: Post Game Show a little bit.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's like one of those things we talk
- 11:10Speaker 4: a lot about, like trying to create a new tradition,
- 11:12Speaker 4: like you can't really. I remember when I started hearing
- 11:14Speaker 4: you guys were like, do you have any nicknames? And
- 11:15Speaker 4: I was like, well, people call me Deuce and you're
- 11:17Speaker 4: like ah, and then it was like d trained for
- 11:19Speaker 4: a little while, like you know, that was a nick
- 11:21Speaker 4: baby loved.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Hope you're out there and that's when that's when Fred
- 11:27Speaker 2: don't juice sexual sexual And then all of a sudden
- 11:30Speaker 2: we landed back on Deuce.
- 11:31Speaker 1: But you know, this one, it's it's gonna stick.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I like it, Drake May May, It's gonna it's definitely
- 11:37Speaker 2: gonna stay because it's become a thing.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Well, the NFL p A is now selling the iHeart
- 11:41Speaker 1: Drake Maye.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I haven't I don't know. He is his nickname.
- 11:46Speaker 1: He is his nickname.
- 11:47Speaker 2: He is him, you know. And I started thinking about it.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Someone said this last week that a lot of the
- 11:51Speaker 2: great quarterbacks they don't really have nicknames, and I started
- 11:55Speaker 2: to think about it, and it's kind of right, like
- 11:59Speaker 2: Broadway Joe, Yeah, but you got to go back away
- 12:01Speaker 2: like Roger the Dodger, you know, stuff like that.
- 12:04Speaker 1: But like when things were corning, was what was Tom
- 12:06Speaker 1: Brady's nickname.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Pharaohs. But that's a little like sounds like, you know,
- 12:12Speaker 2: Peyton Manning, Like I don't know, they call him the
- 12:15Speaker 2: sheriff for something. But like there's not too many Aaron Rodgers,
- 12:19Speaker 2: you know, right, he just but like those are more
- 12:23Speaker 2: like like t B those you were your initials. Yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 2: I don't know. I kind of think that whoever that was,
- 12:30Speaker 2: I'd like to give credit for the person. But I
- 12:33Speaker 2: don't think a lot of the Marino y I did,
- 12:43Speaker 2: like when Don Merredith used to call him Jimmy Joe
- 12:45Speaker 2: Idaho on Monday Night Football, But Joe Cool, I think
- 12:48Speaker 2: was probably his nickname is one that's that's.
- 12:50Speaker 3: That's again a long time ago. A lot of Lamar
- 12:54Speaker 3: Jackson doesn't have one.
- 12:55Speaker 1: He's just I call him La marvelous.
- 12:57Speaker 2: But yeah, that's just me. As has Racott say in ESPN,
- 13:02Speaker 2: they don't call him that they should.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Doesn't have one. Patrick Mahomes doesn't have one. Joe Burrow
- 13:09Speaker 3: is Joe cool. We're recling Joe.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Joe Burr just Joe Burr like he's cold, he's cool.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So yeah, it's hard to be organic, though it does.
- 13:21Speaker 2: It does come force it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's been. It's been funny.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So his character.
- 13:28Speaker 3: So, I know, we have a lot of people emailing
- 13:31Speaker 3: and offering nicknames we're not taking on.
- 13:35Speaker 2: It's it's Drake, Drake May May. That's it.
- 13:37Speaker 1: What's the one that?
- 13:38Speaker 2: Can we get something better than that? No, there is
- 13:40Speaker 2: nothing better than that. If you don't hear it, I
- 13:43Speaker 2: don't need to hear it. Okay, that that is it.
- 13:46Speaker 2: That's open minded? Good, Paul, sound a little.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Like me there, may Day.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it is a good name though.
- 13:51Speaker 4: For if you guys were still doing covers at may
- 13:53Speaker 4: A w there there's a lot of opportunities for the
- 13:56Speaker 4: Drake and May.
- 13:57Speaker 2: And all that.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You know, a lot of puns.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Thank you, Drake May, I have another.
- 14:03Speaker 8: You like that?
- 14:05Speaker 1: No, I don't like that one.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Fred Okay, see nothing's better. No, I didn't say there
- 14:09Speaker 2: was anything better, but I mean someone might have a suggestion.
- 14:12Speaker 2: You hear it and you're like, oh, wow, that's pretty good.
- 14:14Speaker 1: He's Drake May.
- 14:14Speaker 3: I don't know why this person's writing in the force May.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Why why does he need to delete Drake May May.
- 14:22Speaker 1: This reminds me of a and that's like not even
- 14:24Speaker 1: like it's a nickname. But like no one's gonna like
- 14:27Speaker 1: say all of that when I talk. It's just kind
- 14:30Speaker 1: of like I don't know. It's not like the truth
- 14:33Speaker 1: for Paul Pierce was like a nickname, right, Like like
- 14:36Speaker 1: I don't think that this is like every NBA guy
- 14:38Speaker 1: has name. Yeah, but like I don't I don't see
- 14:41Speaker 1: that people answer like doing it like that, like it's
- 14:44Speaker 1: this is not shack.
- 14:46Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I mean this person, jug alone from California says, after
- 14:51Speaker 3: this explanation, he wants to call him Drake the Duke
- 14:54Speaker 3: of May.
- 14:55Speaker 1: No, Duke, No, the Duke's the ball.
- 14:58Speaker 2: You're getting a little.
- 15:01Speaker 3: The fact that Drake May Flowers's gate keeping no nickname. No.
- 15:06Speaker 4: I remember seeing Andy Hart saying Gronk, this grons is great.
- 15:12Speaker 4: His nickname should be g Force, And I was like, Andy,
- 15:14Speaker 4: this gronk, he's Gronk, Like it's going to be Gronk.
- 15:17Speaker 4: That's the nickname. You can't come up with a nickname
- 15:19Speaker 4: like g Force. That's not gonna stick.
- 15:21Speaker 2: You remember that?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Did he try to make that work on the show?
- 15:22Speaker 1: You probably, I don't know why that sticks. Probably yelled
- 15:25Speaker 1: at him and shouted him.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Down, Big Ben Roethlisberger. That's true. Yeah, yeah, so I
- 15:31Speaker 2: guess I didn't give it as much thought. There was
- 15:32Speaker 2: a few of them out there.
- 15:34Speaker 4: It's kind of like they call him the first name, right,
- 15:36Speaker 4: like that was Ben. Everyone calls some quarterbacks their nickname
- 15:39Speaker 4: is just their first name. Yeah, like Lamar Lamar, then.
- 15:43Speaker 10: Oh Boy to Dirty Day smoking Joe.
- 15:49Speaker 1: What's that from?
- 15:51Speaker 3: That's Cam Newton naming all the nicknames on the team.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Remember that.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Boy nickle Harry? What did that mean?
- 16:00Speaker 8: Wait?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Whose middle name did he have? Wrong? Can remember Cam
- 16:02Speaker 2: Newton had? Somebody's middle name was mac after he insisted,
- 16:07Speaker 2: you don't know what I was really George McClellan. He's
- 16:12Speaker 2: in his Civil War.
- 16:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 3: I did not like Cam Newton coming in and immediately
- 16:16Speaker 3: putting a shipping people it's a very passive.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Well, it's an aggressive alpha dog.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Try it move to like do that like I will
- 16:25Speaker 3: now give you your nickname right And to everybody that's
- 16:29Speaker 3: that was ridiculous.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't like that at all.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Didn't matter.
- 16:35Speaker 2: What why are you laughing?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Sixteen minutes without any exers?
- 16:41Speaker 2: He wants to talk on me? Huh?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Wants to talk about the game?
- 16:44Speaker 2: I think, well, I mean, is there a lot to
- 16:47Speaker 2: talk about?
- 16:48Speaker 1: I think I think we're doing.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Here after further review and even you said it in there,
- 16:53Speaker 3: there's not much to talk.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Think this is a great start to the show. Why
- 16:59Speaker 1: it's been great? H that's it.
- 17:04Speaker 2: No, I don't think there's a tremendous amount to talk
- 17:06Speaker 2: about from the game. I mean, other than what Mike said,
- 17:10Speaker 2: they had an overwhelmed team, and they overwhelmed them from
- 17:13Speaker 2: the first play of the game and till they decided
- 17:17Speaker 2: we're done knocking you around. Yeah, so that's what you
- 17:20Speaker 2: wanted to see. I thought that was a great statement.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I kind of think the guys that they were missing
- 17:25Speaker 2: almost worked in their favor, because if you had any
- 17:29Speaker 2: fear of coming off an emotional win on the Sunday
- 17:32Speaker 2: night football in Baltimore maybe having a little bit of
- 17:35Speaker 2: a letdown. Well, the guys that were playing had no
- 17:38Speaker 2: reason to have a letdown. They need to go out.
- 17:41Speaker 2: We're going to get some targets in that game. He
- 17:43Speaker 2: needed to be ready to go. Fred's boy, Efton Chisholm,
- 17:45Speaker 2: same thing.
- 17:46Speaker 11: You know.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Even Anthony Jennings, you know he's been sort of a
- 17:50Speaker 2: spot player here and there. He's going to be out
- 17:52Speaker 2: there for Harold Landry at times. I don't know how
- 17:54Speaker 2: many plays he played in the game, but those guys
- 17:57Speaker 2: couldn't afford to just mail it in and over Will.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Look the Jets, they're trying to cop out a role,
- 18:02Speaker 2: see if they can, you know, win some confidence in
- 18:04Speaker 2: the coaching staff and get a role going forward. So
- 18:07Speaker 2: I thought it was a really professional performance by the
- 18:09Speaker 2: whole team. Yeah, just dominant on all levels of the game.
- 18:12Speaker 4: It's hard not to just turn the pace to injuries
- 18:14Speaker 4: and really try to think about I mean, Brabele said
- 18:17Speaker 4: yesterday that Will Campbell will practice this week. I don't
- 18:19Speaker 4: know if that means he's going to actually play in
- 18:21Speaker 4: this last game, but you know, between him and Landry
- 18:24Speaker 4: and Spallane, it's just that that to me is everything.
- 18:27Speaker 4: How many of these guys are ready to play this weekend,
- 18:29Speaker 4: and how many of these guys are you gonna go
- 18:31Speaker 4: into the playoff being like, all right, we'll see what
- 18:32Speaker 4: it looks like on defense when we get to that playoff.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Williams camp can he plays? He started practicing, he could played.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Williams and Campbell are eligible to be activated at any
- 18:43Speaker 2: time and they can come back and play.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Would you put Campbell right in? I mean, he's gonna
- 18:46Speaker 3: this is gonna be his first week practicing in like
- 18:48Speaker 3: five weeks.
- 18:49Speaker 4: It depends on how healthy is I mean, you know,
- 18:52Speaker 4: I think we've seen guys come back from mclsu. I'm
- 18:54Speaker 4: thinking like Draw Mayo sometime in the middle of his career,
- 18:57Speaker 4: you know, come back with a brace. But it's a
- 18:59Speaker 4: it's a really interesting question because it's that Darien Low
- 19:02Speaker 4: has been okay, and you know, not that I would say, oh,
- 19:05Speaker 4: we can't put Will Campbell in for for Low. But
- 19:07Speaker 4: at the same time, I guess maybe it's at least
- 19:10Speaker 4: comforting to know that if Will Campbell doesn't quite have it,
- 19:13Speaker 4: that that you at least feel like you have a
- 19:15Speaker 4: solid backup option, certainly better than like what the Chargers
- 19:17Speaker 4: are doing.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, feel a lot better about it now than I
- 19:20Speaker 2: would have the day that he went down in Cincinnati. Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 2: because I think Lowe's done done. Okay, Yeah, I think
- 19:25Speaker 2: the line in general, I've been saying this all year,
- 19:28Speaker 2: they've they've improved, and I think there's a lot of
- 19:31Speaker 2: factors that go into it, not the least of which
- 19:34Speaker 2: is the scheme in Drake himself. I think Drake is
- 19:37Speaker 2: doing a lot of things for the line the way
- 19:39Speaker 2: Tom Brady used to do. Different way because he's much
- 19:41Speaker 2: more athletic back there the way he does it. But
- 19:45Speaker 2: you know, he's he's able to move around, get himself
- 19:48Speaker 2: some time, and he's so dangerous when he's off platform.
- 19:52Speaker 2: And the line's been The line's been fine. I've had
- 19:55Speaker 2: no real issues with the offense, even though they've taken
- 19:58Speaker 2: a lot of sacks. I've had no issues really with
- 19:59Speaker 2: the protection.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Have you guys ever seen anything like this though with
- 20:02Speaker 4: Drake May Like we again, we talked about it on
- 20:04Speaker 4: Patriots All Axis Friday night.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I'm featuring Deuce.
- 20:09Speaker 4: You've probably released a solid like six minutes of me
- 20:11Speaker 4: in there. Uh No, but I just all these teams
- 20:17Speaker 4: are I'm sorry with the point of starn to Brak
- 20:18Speaker 4: was just seeing Drake come out of nowhere with this season.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Like none of us.
- 20:22Speaker 4: We watch every training camp practice, We record a show
- 20:25Speaker 4: about every training camp practice. We went to joint practices,
- 20:27Speaker 4: we watched all the preseason games. We watched him throw
- 20:30Speaker 4: an interception to Alex Austin and the in stadium practice,
- 20:33Speaker 4: and we all were walking downstairs released. I was being like,
- 20:36Speaker 4: oh boy, like this is going to be up and
- 20:38Speaker 4: down this year. Never once did I think during watching
- 20:41Speaker 4: training camp that this guy was going to put together
- 20:43Speaker 4: like an MVP caliber season.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And even watch three, you know, like week four, you know,
- 20:47Speaker 1: like all but all I.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Know in that Carolina game in Week four, but like,
- 20:52Speaker 2: you're right, the first week was not good. The third week,
- 20:56Speaker 2: I would say was more up and down. He had
- 20:58Speaker 2: some moments in the Pittsburgh game, but he had some
- 21:00Speaker 2: really bad counts too, And then it kind of I
- 21:04Speaker 2: thought he was pretty good in Miami and the game
- 21:05Speaker 2: in between, but that was kind of a lesser workload
- 21:09Speaker 2: for him. I think he only threw like twenty passes
- 21:11Speaker 2: in that game. It's yeah, I agree, and then the
- 21:15Speaker 2: Carolina game. He Since then, it's really been like just
- 21:21Speaker 2: the trajectory is up. In the Mad Game, you mentioned MVP.
- 21:24Speaker 2: He's now the leader in the club. I was going
- 21:27Speaker 2: to act like we were like twenty minutes in, like
- 21:29Speaker 2: I think he won the MVP last night with Stafford,
- 21:31Speaker 2: with Stafford throwing three picks. Now, I don't know what
- 21:33Speaker 2: the voting is going to be like, and I'm not
- 21:35Speaker 2: telling you it's robbery if Stafford gets it, you know,
- 21:39Speaker 2: he still has you know, great numbers and stuff. But
- 21:41Speaker 2: I think May deserves the MVP because of the team
- 21:44Speaker 2: that he's doing it for. Is I don't think it's
- 21:46Speaker 2: as talented a team as the Rams is. Yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be a question of you know,
- 21:51Speaker 1: a couple of different things like May's schedule is going
- 21:55Speaker 1: to factor into it for some voters, Stafford's supporting cast
- 21:58Speaker 1: is going to factor it into for other voters. So
- 22:01Speaker 1: like is that going to wash out? And I think
- 22:03Speaker 1: that there's another element of it of you know, box
- 22:08Speaker 1: score volume stats versus efficiency.
- 22:12Speaker 2: And I would even say the running, right, you know,
- 22:14Speaker 2: the running in the league in the show.
- 22:19Speaker 1: So if you if you add Drake May's passing yards
- 22:22Speaker 1: with his rushing yards, he's out gaining Matthew Stafford. But
- 22:25Speaker 1: Stafford is going to throw for more passing yards than
- 22:28Speaker 1: Drake May this year. But if you put both the
- 22:30Speaker 1: yards together, which is what stats like QBR and e
- 22:33Speaker 1: p A and those types of things try to do,
- 22:36Speaker 1: there's no doubt that he's been the more efficient and
- 22:39Speaker 1: more productive quarterback. I mean, really, the only category that Stafford,
- 22:43Speaker 1: now that he threw three picks in one game, that
- 22:45Speaker 1: he hasn't beat on it is his touchdowns. His total touchdowns,
- 22:50Speaker 1: you know, eight of which are from the one yard
- 22:51Speaker 1: line of him throwing fades to Adams and Puka, not
- 22:57Speaker 1: eight I can tell you, because that's not really what
- 23:01Speaker 1: he does. So one, I just I think that you know,
- 23:05Speaker 1: when you look at all these graphics, it's like Drake
- 23:08Speaker 1: has every statistical category and then Stafford has total touchdowns
- 23:12Speaker 1: and that and that's pretty much it. And it's like
- 23:15Speaker 1: the only thing that you could say that argues against
- 23:17Speaker 1: Drake is that he had an easier schedule and that
- 23:20Speaker 1: he you know, Stafford was playing in the NFC West
- 23:22Speaker 1: and played tougher defense.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And I think you're right about the stats. It depends
- 23:25Speaker 2: on how you look at him. I would look at
- 23:26Speaker 2: Stafford stats as being better. But I would look at
- 23:29Speaker 2: May's cast of characters like that to me far in away, No,
- 23:33Speaker 2: it's so lopsided in May's favor that that's.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I think Stafford's stats are better, but I did the
- 23:40Speaker 3: way I do it is the value to the team.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I just I don't understand what stats are better.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Well, they both have eight interceptions in May has thrown
- 23:48Speaker 2: far fewer passes, So interception percentage is better for Stafford.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Touchdowns is better for Stafford. Yards are better for Stafford. Well,
- 23:55Speaker 2: rushing is better for May.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Okay, but completion percentage is better for May. Yards per
- 24:00Speaker 1: attempt is better than it for me epa QBR passer rating.
- 24:05Speaker 2: And that's going to be that's going to be the
- 24:06Speaker 2: fascinating thing. The stats that you and a lot of
- 24:10Speaker 2: your ill care We go, no, no, But you only
- 24:13Speaker 2: need two stats ydge, touchdowns, interceptions, the only three stats
- 24:18Speaker 2: that I really care about.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Okay, But but if you're going to use.
- 24:21Speaker 2: That, that doesn't mean I'm right I would give it
- 24:23Speaker 2: to May. I'm telling you I would pick May even
- 24:25Speaker 2: though he doesn't have those stats.
- 24:26Speaker 1: But if you're using the stats that I care about,
- 24:28Speaker 1: But if you're using the argument that he's thrown three
- 24:30Speaker 1: fewer interceptions on more attempts. He's also score They both
- 24:34Speaker 1: have eight interceptions, right, but he also has more passing
- 24:36Speaker 1: yards on more attempts he does. So you can't use
- 24:40Speaker 1: it both way, Sure you can.
- 24:42Speaker 2: He's been asked to throw the ball more often, and
- 24:45Speaker 2: that's harder. That's part of like Drew Bledsoe in ninety
- 24:49Speaker 2: four forty five hundred yards because he had to throw
- 24:52Speaker 2: the ball every play he had the whole offense on
- 24:54Speaker 2: his shoulder.
- 24:54Speaker 3: There's a good stat out there that quarterbacks who throw
- 24:57Speaker 3: more than fifty times in a game lose more often.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Tea was that to run the ball more than forty.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Think that that, you know, counteracted that stat. But he
- 25:09Speaker 2: was very rare.
- 25:10Speaker 1: He wonted no matter what.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, And just to be clear here, I
- 25:14Speaker 2: want to reiterate May is my pick, and May has
- 25:17Speaker 2: been my pick for about a month because I think
- 25:22Speaker 2: the more I see from Drake, like maybe maybe the
- 25:26Speaker 2: final nail was the comeback against Baltimore for me, but
- 25:30Speaker 2: I had been trending to May is doing more with less,
- 25:33Speaker 2: and that to me overrides it than than Stafford. And
- 25:37Speaker 2: you guys know, I love Stafford. I've always liked Matthew Stafford.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Mike I famously once told and Fred will tell you,
- 25:44Speaker 2: I once said that I would have traded one Thomas
- 25:48Speaker 2: tom Brady Patrick to the Lions for the number one
- 25:50Speaker 2: overall pick for Stafford.
- 25:52Speaker 1: So you liked him coming out.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I at Georgia, I was a big fan coming out,
- 25:58Speaker 2: So I do like him. I think Drake May has
- 26:00Speaker 2: had a better year. Evan has a lot of stats
- 26:02Speaker 2: that tell me that I'm right.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You just had like the e p A s and
- 26:06Speaker 2: the yards all those all of those stats are all
- 26:12Speaker 2: in May's favor. So it's not like I have to
- 26:15Speaker 2: make a stretch for it. But I do come back
- 26:17Speaker 2: to Stefan Diggs coming off of torn a cl as
- 26:21Speaker 2: opposed to Pooka Nakula. Mhm, Like sorry, the check mark
- 26:25Speaker 2: goes to May. You know, Kyen Williams and Blake Korham
- 26:28Speaker 2: a good solid one two punch behind a run. You know,
- 26:31Speaker 2: they play a lot of multiple tight ends. They like
- 26:33Speaker 2: to run the ball a lot. They have a great scheme.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Uh And I think he has a lot more to
- 26:38Speaker 2: work with and I think Drake May has done more
- 26:40Speaker 2: with less. That's my pick no. I agree.
- 26:42Speaker 4: I agree, And it's just even the eye test of
- 26:44Speaker 4: watching both these guys, I would just say they both
- 26:47Speaker 4: have that calm energy of just knowing where to go
- 26:50Speaker 4: with the ball, not panicking, and I mean they both
- 26:53Speaker 4: have had fantastic seasons. I just I'm just considered it
- 26:56Speaker 4: so cool to be able to like watch this whole
- 26:58Speaker 4: process unfold from training camp where you know, you guys
- 27:01Speaker 4: have seen an MVP and usually that MVP is amazing
- 27:05Speaker 4: from the get go, and you know he's an MVP candidate.
- 27:07Speaker 4: This was a kid in his second year coming out
- 27:10Speaker 4: of nowhere and taking the whole leak by storm. And
- 27:13Speaker 4: I mean, what, you know, this has been a great
- 27:14Speaker 4: year to watch a lot of wins, But that part
- 27:17Speaker 4: of it for me is just especially when we spent
- 27:19Speaker 4: so much time talking about how do we find the
- 27:21Speaker 4: next quarterback? I mean we burned hours and hours on
- 27:24Speaker 4: this show talking about what's the best way to get it?
- 27:26Speaker 1: And Paul's got stats about you got to draft him
- 27:28Speaker 1: in the top half.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Of the round, you know, and then but then there's
- 27:31Speaker 4: like guys like Darnold who are out there and you
- 27:33Speaker 4: get the right one or the wrong one, and you know,
- 27:35Speaker 4: to to finally land on the guy and see him
- 27:37Speaker 4: really blossom. It's it's it's exciting, and you understand why
- 27:39Speaker 4: Patriot fans are are so excited.
- 27:41Speaker 1: We got we got our guys. The mastery of the
- 27:43Speaker 1: system is not something that I expected to happen so quickly.
- 27:47Speaker 1: And that's where the consistency has come from, is because
- 27:50Speaker 1: he's operating so well within the structure of the system.
- 27:53Speaker 1: So it's not he's not being Superman all the time.
- 27:56Speaker 1: You know, they throw out a digs on Sunday. There's
- 27:59Speaker 1: a handful of those types of plays a game, but
- 28:01Speaker 1: it's not like it has to be that way every
- 28:03Speaker 1: single time. And I think that's the biggest difference between
- 28:06Speaker 1: his rookie season the beginning of this year, where it
- 28:09Speaker 1: felt like he had to be Superman for them to
- 28:11Speaker 1: get yards. Now it's like Paul's thing. They can win
- 28:14Speaker 1: just conventionally. He can just drop back and sit in
- 28:16Speaker 1: the pocket and win. And that that is why the
- 28:20Speaker 1: turnovers are down. That's why the you know, the peaks
- 28:23Speaker 1: and valleys of his play have you know, kind of
- 28:25Speaker 1: evened out. Is because he's just operating at such a
- 28:28Speaker 1: high level within structure. And then you add you know,
- 28:32Speaker 1: kind of the other stuff on top.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Like what do you put into you know, I think
- 28:35Speaker 4: Josh mcdani's there's a lot of credit, but I know
- 28:36Speaker 4: his system, like we talked about it, a lot goes
- 28:38Speaker 4: on the quarterback. But I know hearing Tom Brady talk
- 28:41Speaker 4: about Josh being the kind of guy that teaches the
- 28:44Speaker 4: quarterback what to look for, you know, not wanting a robot,
- 28:47Speaker 4: wanting a guy who can be out there, think for himself,
- 28:50Speaker 4: put himself in good position. And I mean, I think
- 28:53Speaker 4: that that system is kind of a shoot for the
- 28:55Speaker 4: moon kind of system where it's like, you know, let's
- 28:57Speaker 4: let's teach this guy how to run it and do it.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And you know, I don't know what Josh's future is
- 29:02Speaker 1: going to be like here.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I hope he's here for a while again, but still
- 29:05Speaker 4: I think the teaching that they've given him is going
- 29:07Speaker 4: to last him through changes that are inevitably going to happen.
- 29:10Speaker 1: You know, there's going to be turnover.
- 29:11Speaker 4: At the wide receiver, tight end, running back positions, an
- 29:14Speaker 4: offensive coordinator turnover.
- 29:15Speaker 1: But the strides he's.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Made, I really just believe it's sustainable now and that
- 29:19Speaker 4: the intelligence and the experience that he's getting is just
- 29:22Speaker 4: going to continue to snowball.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's incredible that he has such command at the
- 29:26Speaker 1: line of scrimmage for such a young player. And I
- 29:29Speaker 1: remember when we talked about this system, like it's on
- 29:32Speaker 1: the quarterback to make all of the calls at the
- 29:34Speaker 1: line of scrimmage, whether it's protections or different mic points
- 29:37Speaker 1: with run game stuff, and it's not. Most systems put
- 29:40Speaker 1: that on the center, but this system puts it on
- 29:42Speaker 1: the quarterback because they want the quarterback to be in
- 29:45Speaker 1: the cockpit and have control of everything to see things
- 29:48Speaker 1: in kind of survey and whatever. And he just doesn't
- 29:51Speaker 1: make very many mental mistakes, like you don't see a
- 29:54Speaker 1: whole lot of you know, oh well, they probably should
- 29:56Speaker 1: have slid it this way, or they probably had it
- 29:58Speaker 1: aimed wrong that way, or whatever the case may be.
- 30:01Speaker 1: And you know, they're using different tells, the emotions and
- 30:04Speaker 1: indicators and things like that to give him information and
- 30:07Speaker 1: he's just able to do it at such a high
- 30:09Speaker 1: level that I wasn't studying Brady, you know, year two
- 30:13Speaker 1: like I do with Drake may So I couldn't tell you,
- 30:16Speaker 1: but it does feels like I don't see that very often.
- 30:19Speaker 1: With other young quarterbacks around the league, that they have
- 30:21Speaker 1: such a command of the whole offense, right, and that
- 30:26Speaker 1: has to come back to obviously Drake May's you know, IQ,
- 30:30Speaker 1: but also Josh mcdaniels's ability to coach it, teach it.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but that that part of it is probably
- 30:37Speaker 2: the thing that has surprised me the most is because
- 30:39Speaker 2: I thought that he'd be a guy that, you know,
- 30:41Speaker 2: that's one of those he held the ball too long,
- 30:43Speaker 2: or they tricked.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Him there they you know, they cut underneath. He was
- 30:47Speaker 1: expecting this, he got that.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I haven't really seen that, and I mean very very
- 30:52Speaker 2: rarely has he looked like he got fooled by a
- 30:54Speaker 2: coverage or threw the ball into the wrong spot.
- 30:57Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 30:57Speaker 1: The Jets had one on Sunday where they actually ran
- 30:59Speaker 1: a pretty good coverage and they try to trap him
- 31:01Speaker 1: into throwing the ball to digs and with a trap
- 31:03Speaker 1: corner where the corner looks like he's going to carry
- 31:06Speaker 1: the route and then jumps the twentieth route and he
- 31:08Speaker 1: ran it on fourth down, and I you know, you
- 31:11Speaker 1: watch him and he starts to rode up to throw
- 31:13Speaker 1: the digs and then he pulls it down to the
- 31:14Speaker 1: rast second and then looks and runs out of the
- 31:17Speaker 1: pocket and picks up the first down, and I was like,
- 31:19Speaker 1: that's just unbelievable, like.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Human.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Yes, I don't remember exact coverage. It's just a trap coverage.
- 31:26Speaker 2: That meant something different. But yeah, they they they had the.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Slot like carry you know, looked like he was carrying
- 31:32Speaker 1: Kyle Williams vertical and he just kind of fell off
- 31:34Speaker 1: Kyle Williams and jump digs his route underneath, and like
- 31:38Speaker 1: nine out of ten twenty three year old quarterbacks throw
- 31:40Speaker 1: a pick six right there, like right, like I watched
- 31:42Speaker 1: Stafford throw pick six last night on the exact same coverage,
- 31:45Speaker 1: and Drake May just seize it, and that that stuff
- 31:48Speaker 1: is rare. Like we always knew that he had the talent,
- 31:51Speaker 1: I did not know that he had it between the
- 31:52Speaker 1: ears as well as he's shown, at least so far
- 31:55Speaker 1: this year.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Yeah, so you know, when it comes to Drake May
- 32:00Speaker 3: in the offense, I think we're in good shape. I
- 32:02Speaker 3: would assume Booty's going to come back.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Yeah, and Matt Collins gonna be out, so they're gonna
- 32:09Speaker 4: have to figure figure out a little bit.
- 32:10Speaker 1: He'll be out, but change up.
- 32:11Speaker 3: But Kyle Williams is coming on. You know, we had
- 32:14Speaker 3: the one drop, but he seems like every game now
- 32:17Speaker 3: he's making a big play him.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I didn't have him on the down list. I always
- 32:22Speaker 1: called it.
- 32:22Speaker 4: I didn't have him a bat list, but I just
- 32:23Speaker 4: I give some constructive criticism of the game to Kyle.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Williams, almost finger wagging.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Well, I didn't want to put him on the bat
- 32:30Speaker 4: list because it was a great round and he contributed.
- 32:32Speaker 4: But you know, you just see some of the little
- 32:34Speaker 4: details of making sure you got the right depth, uh,
- 32:37Speaker 4: you know, catching the ball consistently, but I mean I
- 32:39Speaker 4: like it.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Coming back inside the first down mark on your own.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Twice he got lucky there. Once was very close, fortunately
- 32:48Speaker 2: stretch I assume you know, signaled down to Mike and
- 32:51Speaker 2: had him it. Rabel was standing right in front of
- 32:54Speaker 2: I'll tell you watching the replay, it was very close.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I think you could have flicked the coin on that one.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Uh, and I would I would say, ramondre Stevenson is
- 33:02Speaker 3: playing his best ball right now.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Terrific.
- 33:05Speaker 1: This is all around yep, yeah, yep, he was my
- 33:08Speaker 1: what is that segment?
- 33:09Speaker 2: I do now?
- 33:10Speaker 1: I forget one of the same time.
- 33:13Speaker 4: No, this was one of my sponsored segments on the
- 33:15Speaker 4: post game show.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Something to build on, something that built on. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 33:19Speaker 1: he's on a little bit of a three game.
- 33:21Speaker 2: It's the thing. Yeah begins with an a what is it, Aaron.
- 33:27Speaker 1: He's not he's not the best pitch man snowblower of
- 33:31Speaker 1: the game.
- 33:33Speaker 4: But no, I that was exactly what I said. I mean,
- 33:36Speaker 4: just uh, you know, Henderson seemed maybe thank you, I
- 33:41Speaker 4: love our friends at I forgot the segment. Uh, but
- 33:45Speaker 4: I think that's a great development for this Patriots team
- 33:47Speaker 4: as they get in the playoffs, having ramondro Stevenson looking
- 33:49Speaker 4: like he's he's healthy and contributing in all facets, and
- 33:53Speaker 4: you know, just like I think, I think Henderson maybe
- 33:55Speaker 4: a little rusty after after missing the week, and you know,
- 33:57Speaker 4: he seemed like he didn't quite find the room that
- 34:00Speaker 4: that we were hoping for.
- 34:00Speaker 1: But if they can really peak with those two guys
- 34:02Speaker 1: and have.
- 34:03Speaker 4: That one two punch going in the playoffs, it's going
- 34:04Speaker 4: to be a big, big, big help to Drake.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Henderson ran hard in this game. He pushed some piles
- 34:09Speaker 1: and you know, maybe that's something to do wait with
- 34:12Speaker 1: the Jets, like not being able to tackle or not
- 34:15Speaker 1: wanting to tackle. But Remondre just putting together three weeks
- 34:20Speaker 1: now of just like all around, yep, great play, pass game,
- 34:23Speaker 1: run game, blocking, like all of it.
- 34:25Speaker 2: You know.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I think he missed one block last week and Ivan
- 34:28Speaker 1: Fears gave him a hard time for it for that,
- 34:30Speaker 1: so that was funny. But overall, he's just looked really
- 34:33Speaker 1: really good. And some of the stuff that they're doing
- 34:35Speaker 1: with him now in the passing game is getting to
- 34:37Speaker 1: pay dividends because those are tough things to cover, you know,
- 34:40Speaker 1: is he blocking, is he running to the flat, as
- 34:42Speaker 1: he getting vertical, you know, different things like that. So
- 34:44Speaker 1: he's been really really good and now you can start
- 34:46Speaker 1: to see, you know, how they can compliment each other
- 34:49Speaker 1: and how that can really be a good one two
- 34:51Speaker 1: punch in January when you want to be able to
- 34:53Speaker 1: run the ball and you want to be able to
- 34:55Speaker 1: you know, elements and all that good stuff. So it's
- 34:59Speaker 1: been fun to watch Ormandre last couple of weeks. He's
- 35:02Speaker 1: right all the way back.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Eight five five Pats five hundred is the hot Line
- 35:06Speaker 3: podcast at Patriots dot com as the email address I'm
- 35:09Speaker 3: getting flooded with Drake Maye nicknames, so maybe we'll get
- 35:12Speaker 3: to that later. I take the name, go down and
- 35:14Speaker 3: say nick names, but to me, it's.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Drake Drake May May. That's that's it.
- 35:19Speaker 3: But I'll read them later in case there's, you know,
- 35:24Speaker 3: something great. I haven't seen it yet, but is there
- 35:26Speaker 3: anything to judge?
- 35:27Speaker 11: What it's?
- 35:28Speaker 1: Aything?
- 35:28Speaker 2: Terrible in my opinion, all of it, But that's that's again.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Who am I to judge?
- 35:34Speaker 3: But people are chomping at the bitch, champing, champion at
- 35:38Speaker 3: the bit to get their thoughts out there. So let's
- 35:42Speaker 3: get to the phones. We will start with Vinnie in Vegas.
- 35:46Speaker 2: What's up?
- 35:46Speaker 9: Vinnie?
- 35:49Speaker 12: Hey, guys, looks up?
- 35:50Speaker 8: Hey, uh.
- 35:52Speaker 12: You know, I it's crazy how the you know, last
- 35:56Speaker 12: night's game where you know Stoffer wasn't great, how they
- 36:00Speaker 12: the odds changed so much. I mean, going into that game,
- 36:03Speaker 12: you know it was his MVP, and then after the
- 36:06Speaker 12: game it's like just completely flips. It's just it's crazy
- 36:09Speaker 12: to me how the odds change so quickly. The other
- 36:12Speaker 12: thing I have for you guys is, you know, I
- 36:14Speaker 12: feel confident if we have to play the Chargers, they
- 36:19Speaker 12: are they're just very inconsistent. I will say they are
- 36:22Speaker 12: the most inconsistent team in the league. One week they
- 36:25Speaker 12: bring it, they're awesome, and then the next week they
- 36:28Speaker 12: just you know, they're terrible. I do have a question
- 36:32Speaker 12: for you guys, and I'll take this off the air,
- 36:35Speaker 12: if you had only one draft pick this next coming draft.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Which I know is not the case, but I just
- 36:42Speaker 1: want to hear your thoughts on.
- 36:43Speaker 12: This one draft pick and can only bring in one
- 36:47Speaker 12: free agent or you know what would be those two
- 36:49Speaker 12: positions that you would one hundred per say we need this,
- 36:53Speaker 12: you know, based on what we've seen this year. And
- 36:55Speaker 12: like I said, thank you for everything you guys do.
- 36:58Speaker 12: This year has been awesome.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Okay, thanks. So I have two players that can bring in.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Forget about who they are, but because what they what
- 37:05Speaker 2: do they do?
- 37:06Speaker 1: Edge definitely to me, Edge is definitely on that list.
- 37:08Speaker 1: To me, I go edge wide receiver. Yeah, I think Edge,
- 37:11Speaker 1: and you know, I'll just say pass catcher. Like, if
- 37:14Speaker 1: it's a tight end, it's a tight end. If it's
- 37:15Speaker 1: a receiver, it's a receiver. But I like the tight
- 37:18Speaker 1: end thing.
- 37:18Speaker 13: I like that.
- 37:18Speaker 4: I mean, I think that's a great way to just again,
- 37:22Speaker 4: I'll probably say this a lot in the off.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Season, but they have to. They have to change this year.
- 37:26Speaker 4: They have to get better. They can't think we're going
- 37:28Speaker 4: to run back with this team. Plug a couple of
- 37:29Speaker 4: gaps like the O fourteen brought in Corey Dylan after
- 37:33Speaker 4: you won the Super Bowl. They changed the equation for
- 37:35Speaker 4: other teams on how to defend them. And I think
- 37:37Speaker 4: with Drake May the way he's playing, I think it
- 37:39Speaker 4: gives you some flexibility.
- 37:40Speaker 3: We're all perfectly fine with the way the offensive line
- 37:43Speaker 3: is right now.
- 37:44Speaker 2: I only have pick so I have to, you know,
- 37:48Speaker 2: in that scenario, I have to go with Mogan Moses
- 37:50Speaker 2: another year.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what else you do in an
- 37:53Speaker 1: offensive line for now, Like I think centered right tackle,
- 37:58Speaker 1: those are going to be holes that you need to do.
- 37:59Speaker 1: But I think think you you keep Bradbury and Moses
- 38:02Speaker 1: for the time being, and let's see how long they
- 38:04Speaker 1: can keep it up for Yeah, you know, then Wilson
- 38:07Speaker 1: will obviously factor into one of those interior spots.
- 38:10Speaker 2: All right.
- 38:10Speaker 1: What about linebacker, I think that's a consideration. I mean,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I wouldn't a player. I mean, everybody wants to side
- 38:17Speaker 1: to line the sideline linebacker. All thirty two teams want
- 38:22Speaker 1: Oh god, we could we could really use a linebacker
- 38:25Speaker 1: who can cover, Like, yeah, so can the rest of
- 38:27Speaker 1: the NFL.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Za Bond in that game, James Cook down really really
- 38:31Speaker 4: good play a couple of really good There's like maybe
- 38:34Speaker 4: like five teams, you know, healthy Fred Warner when with
- 38:38Speaker 4: San Francisco, Zach Bond, Swetzinger, Like they're there's they everybody
- 38:43Speaker 4: wants to them. I mean it's not a super I
- 38:45Speaker 4: mean it's not a super premium physition, but I do
- 38:47Speaker 4: feel like every year there's one or two of those
- 38:48Speaker 4: guys that.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and deficultly the kinds that that Evan's talking about
- 38:52Speaker 2: are like you know Rokwan Smith, you know in his prime,
- 38:56Speaker 2: you know those that they're rare.
- 38:57Speaker 1: They are rare. It's really hard to find guys that
- 39:00Speaker 1: can stop the run and the past and be able
- 39:04Speaker 1: to stay in all situations. Like that's pretty rare to
- 39:07Speaker 1: find those types of guys. So like, ideally you could
- 39:09Speaker 1: get somebody next to Splaine that has some athleticism that
- 39:12Speaker 1: can run a little bit.
- 39:13Speaker 3: But you know, then what about a Hamilton type safety.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I love it all. Yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 2: this is why I think Mike's point is is, you know,
- 39:26Speaker 2: be excited about how fast and how far you've come,
- 39:29Speaker 2: But don't be satisfied that you're there, right, because there's
- 39:32Speaker 2: still a lot of improvement that can be made.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Out of relegation.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Next year, you know, like you're gonna have to play
- 39:38Speaker 4: some other some other teams.
- 39:39Speaker 1: But I would argue that you almost have to treat
- 39:41Speaker 1: it like it didn't happen, Yeah, because the schedule is
- 39:44Speaker 1: going to get significantly harder next year and everyone's gone
- 39:49Speaker 1: an expectation like you almost have to act like you
- 39:52Speaker 1: made the step that you thought you were going to make,
- 39:54Speaker 1: which was probably going to be like a seven or
- 39:55Speaker 1: eight win team, and not get too caught up in
- 39:58Speaker 1: the fact that you went as far.
- 40:01Speaker 3: The FC East is back to the way it used
- 40:03Speaker 3: to be, and everybody else it's the windows closed in Buffalo,
- 40:07Speaker 3: as Fred predicted. You know, Miami, we can only hope
- 40:10Speaker 3: that they don't treat it that Miami's in turmoil. The
- 40:14Speaker 3: Jets are the Jets, Jets. The Jets gets the ale.
- 40:19Speaker 4: That's good, lockdown, it's on lockdown, just quick on the
- 40:23Speaker 4: edge position. The more I've watched to make an off
- 40:25Speaker 4: season bet with you, the more I've watched, you know,
- 40:28Speaker 4: these really good quarterbacks. It just feels like you absolutely
- 40:31Speaker 4: have to have a dominating edge player in today's NFL.
- 40:34Speaker 4: I mean just you know, look at the Houston game
- 40:36Speaker 4: versus the Bills and what they did to Josh Allen.
- 40:37Speaker 4: I know Houston has a special pass rush off the edge,
- 40:41Speaker 4: but you know, with Milton Williams and Christian Barmore, you
- 40:43Speaker 4: get one more of the guys one.
- 40:46Speaker 1: I know they have a special player.
- 40:53Speaker 4: If I ever come in here in like a vast
- 40:54Speaker 4: as long as you guys gotta like becoming you're becoming
- 40:56Speaker 4: too bravely. But I think that's the quickest way to improve.
- 41:00Speaker 4: We talked about the schedule, getting better, better quarterbacks next year.
- 41:03Speaker 1: You need a dude on the edge next year.
- 41:05Speaker 2: So something I would also be prepared for. And you know,
- 41:08Speaker 2: I don't know how it's all gonna you know, unfold
- 41:11Speaker 2: and manifest, but the guy's going to win the MVP,
- 41:15Speaker 2: and if he's not going to win the MVP, he's
- 41:16Speaker 2: going to be second. Defensive coordinators are going to spend
- 41:19Speaker 2: the off season trying to figure out how the hell
- 41:22Speaker 2: we slow.
- 41:22Speaker 1: This guy get an incompletion?
- 41:24Speaker 3: Right?
- 41:24Speaker 2: Yeah, how are we going to slow this guy down? Good? Look,
- 41:27Speaker 2: we got We got to figure it out. I know, Phil,
- 41:29Speaker 2: there is no blueprint to stop him, but that's what's
- 41:32Speaker 2: going to happen. You need to be prepared for that. Yeah,
- 41:34Speaker 2: you know, like what happens. And as I said, so you.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Need to add and I think another playmaker on top
- 41:39Speaker 1: of what you already have. Right not to mention Diggs, Henry,
- 41:43Speaker 1: like those guys are getting up there in age, like
- 41:45Speaker 1: you can't always count on those guys being as productive
- 41:48Speaker 1: as they have been. So but I think that's the
- 41:51Speaker 1: biggest thing is you can't get complacent. You have to
- 41:53Speaker 1: keep stacking talent on the roster. And like I said,
- 41:56Speaker 1: like I would almost treat it like you didn't have
- 41:59Speaker 1: a thirteen fourteen win season.
- 42:00Speaker 4: I love that, And I mean I also nothing against
- 42:02Speaker 4: Austin Hooper. I think he's been solid and think he's
- 42:04Speaker 4: a really good locker room guy, good complimentary piece. But
- 42:06Speaker 4: you know, his free agency he's going to be up
- 42:09Speaker 4: seems like an opportunity to me to maybe try to
- 42:11Speaker 4: find a dynamic kind of number two guy that maybe
- 42:14Speaker 4: you can groom behind Henry that just has, like I've said,
- 42:17Speaker 4: changed the equation that you know now instead of just
- 42:20Speaker 4: spending your whole time on Drake May. Well, now it's
- 42:22Speaker 4: you know, now they're going to have Corey Dillon and
- 42:24Speaker 4: we got to figure out how to stop that.
- 42:25Speaker 1: That kind of thing.
- 42:26Speaker 2: You just laugh.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And they have the tape for the m v P.
- 42:31Speaker 2: It's rushing yard. He's got minus rushing on minus two
- 42:38Speaker 2: rushing yards. That is absolutely better. Same amount of turnovers
- 42:42Speaker 2: as both though eight eight picks and three a.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Lot more green checks on May side of the ledger.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Well, that's absolutely well. Their records and whatnot. He's got
- 42:53Speaker 2: the better numbers, I mean many does we've got the
- 42:57Speaker 2: m v P. Think about that.
- 43:00Speaker 3: You were to say last year, the Patriots are going
- 43:02Speaker 3: to draft a quarter.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Like it's happened a lot in the past. But then
- 43:05Speaker 2: why we even even with.
- 43:07Speaker 3: They on the team last year, to say next year,
- 43:09Speaker 3: he's going to be.
- 43:09Speaker 2: The m v P of the not even the biggest Patriots.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Honk would I would I would have said he had
- 43:14Speaker 1: been he could be an MVP eventually.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I could see him if he develops, he has the
- 43:20Speaker 2: skill to be an m v P. I would have
- 43:21Speaker 2: said something like that. No way, I would have said,
- 43:23Speaker 2: he's going to be the m.
- 43:24Speaker 4: V P now right, and we all knew he had
- 43:26Speaker 4: all the physical gifts in the world that you.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Need to be the m v P. I didn't even
- 43:29Speaker 2: think in like September or October like we were going
- 43:31Speaker 2: to be having a rational m VP conversation. That's why
- 43:34Speaker 2: the question I brought up early just it happened so fast.
- 43:36Speaker 1: It was the first Buffalo game.
- 43:38Speaker 2: It was like, huh, to to toe with Josh Allen
- 43:40Speaker 2: on National TV, and that's when people started writing.
- 43:43Speaker 1: In and I was very skeptical. Full disclosure.
- 43:46Speaker 2: But again, you can continue to just be skeptical and
- 43:50Speaker 2: say that what's happening isn't happening, and that just makes
- 43:53Speaker 2: you wrong, and then you know stubborn, or you can say, hey,
- 43:57Speaker 2: I didn't look at it that way and that that's proven.
- 44:02Speaker 2: You know, fourteen, they're going to be fourteen and three.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I could sit there and say, yeah, it's a six
- 44:06Speaker 2: or seven win team because that's what I thought. Oh,
- 44:08Speaker 2: but yeah, if this didn't happen, no, no, no, they
- 44:11Speaker 2: went out and won the games and they proved me wrong.
- 44:14Speaker 2: They proved a lot of people wrong.
- 44:16Speaker 1: It's in the last couple of weeks in the NFL too,
- 44:18Speaker 1: I mean, Cleveland beat the Steelers. Cleveland almost beat Buffalo.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Atlanta beat the Rams last night in a game where
- 44:25Speaker 1: the Rams needed a blocked field goal to even make it.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Really, it is kind of a picture of the league.
- 44:30Speaker 2: It's happening, and.
- 44:30Speaker 1: The Patriots beat every team they were supposed to beat
- 44:34Speaker 1: well and so well, Raiders won't come everyone the season.
- 44:41Speaker 1: But I really try not to do that. I tried
- 44:44Speaker 1: to treat the Patriots like I do. So they won
- 44:46Speaker 1: thirteen out of fourteen of the games they were.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Just because they had more of those opportunities than everybody else.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Don't like they just had that on that slate to
- 44:55Speaker 2: schedule thirty second yeah, sixth yeah, yeah yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Against common opponents. The Rams were four and two, the
- 45:02Speaker 3: Patriots were six and oh so what.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Does that mean that we beat the teams that? But
- 45:08Speaker 2: how would you have done with the same schedule if
- 45:10Speaker 2: you had to play San Francisco and Seattle twice? No,
- 45:12Speaker 2: you didn't play them, I know, but you played bad teams.
- 45:15Speaker 2: But that the Rams played and they lost twice. Okay,
- 45:19Speaker 2: I'm not arguing. I don't really care if the Rams
- 45:21Speaker 2: or the Patriots are better. Drake May is Drake May
- 45:25Speaker 2: is my MVP.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Like it doesn't. This is just crap.
- 45:29Speaker 2: That doesn't matter. Like the Patriots scored twenty four points
- 45:33Speaker 2: against Atlanta, so did the Rams. The Patriots won, the
- 45:36Speaker 2: Atlanta lost.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Seven of them were on special teams.
- 45:38Speaker 2: I don't all the points that Atlanta scored were on
- 45:40Speaker 2: special teams too. On defense they got to pick six,
- 45:44Speaker 2: like it happens.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I'm just saying that Drake May scored twenty four actual
- 45:48Speaker 1: points or September games.
- 45:50Speaker 2: September games don't count as much. About what about November games?
- 45:53Speaker 2: Do they count?
- 45:54Speaker 8: Yes?
- 45:54Speaker 2: Okay, well that twenty four to twenty three you beat
- 45:56Speaker 2: Atlanta because they then extra point we beat them. Okay,
- 45:59Speaker 2: so like it lost, it happens. I know they lost.
- 46:03Speaker 2: They lost to Carolina too. You beat Carolina, that's right,
- 46:07Speaker 2: that's right. Okay, they didn't lose to the Raiders though. Yeah,
- 46:10Speaker 2: but September games don't count.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Oh okay, they're weighted less. They county.
- 46:15Speaker 2: It's costing. It's right now, that's costing you the number
- 46:18Speaker 2: one seed.
- 46:18Speaker 1: It's true.
- 46:19Speaker 2: So I know it didn't count, but right now we're
- 46:22Speaker 2: going to be the.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Number two seeds that we brought up the one game
- 46:25Speaker 1: that they were supposed to win. That they didn't win.
- 46:28Speaker 2: There's two games that they were supposed to win that
- 46:29Speaker 2: they didn't win. Pittsburgh was a travesty of the loss.
- 46:32Speaker 1: That was well the way I'm folded, but I'm not surprised.
- 46:35Speaker 1: But it's a bad team and you lost that home.
- 46:38Speaker 1: But we know that in the bath, like I don't
- 46:39Speaker 1: know at the time.
- 46:40Speaker 2: I know that was September.
- 46:41Speaker 1: It doesn't count. No, I just don't think at the
- 46:43Speaker 1: time that we thought about these two teams the way
- 46:45Speaker 1: we were thinking about it.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I thought of that as a toss up game, just
- 46:48Speaker 2: like all the rest of them. They went. In my opinion,
- 46:51Speaker 2: they went ten and two in toss up games. I
- 46:53Speaker 2: thought they would go like six and six and toss
- 46:55Speaker 2: up games. So I give them all the credit in
- 46:57Speaker 2: the world. So taking care of the taking care of business, well,
- 47:00Speaker 2: I just like to have a little the analysis. It's yeah,
- 47:06Speaker 2: it's nothing to be further from the truth from that,
- 47:09Speaker 2: all right. I'm just glad that we're able to talk
- 47:10Speaker 2: about Drake May winning the m v P. And we
- 47:12Speaker 2: don't want to jinx anything like acts like children. You know.
- 47:16Speaker 3: All right, back to the phones, we go, Uh, let's
- 47:19Speaker 3: go to herm in DC.
- 47:21Speaker 2: What's up?
- 47:21Speaker 14: Herm?
- 47:23Speaker 15: What's going on?
- 47:24Speaker 11: Fellas?
- 47:27Speaker 16: I'm feeling good today. So two quick questions for you guys.
- 47:30Speaker 10: Right, So the first question is going into the playoffs,
- 47:34Speaker 10: obviously with met Collins being too reserve, which couple my surprise,
- 47:38Speaker 10: how will the offense more?
- 47:42Speaker 3: Right?
- 47:43Speaker 15: It could escentism be a serious solution for replacing mc collins.
- 47:49Speaker 15: And my second question is kind of a loaded questions.
- 47:52Speaker 15: Right again, I'm in a good move, so I want
- 47:54Speaker 15: to be nice today.
- 47:55Speaker 13: If you guys were to be tasked.
- 47:58Speaker 10: To be consultants for a team of like bad now, right,
- 48:03Speaker 10: what it s the Jets?
- 48:03Speaker 5: Whoever? Right?
- 48:05Speaker 10: And obviously you probably have to help him find a quarterback?
- 48:09Speaker 10: What is your guys' criteria for evaluating a quarterback?
- 48:13Speaker 14: Right?
- 48:13Speaker 10: So obviously everybody probably try to find the next Drake May,
- 48:16Speaker 10: which is obviously the equivalent will follow the new Haystack.
- 48:19Speaker 10: But I guess my question is you guys this personal
- 48:23Speaker 10: criteria for drafting, yep, a quarterback? So what do you
- 48:29Speaker 10: guys look for specifically?
- 48:31Speaker 3: So I was just hired to be a consultant for
- 48:33Speaker 3: the New York Jets. We need to turn this thing around.
- 48:36Speaker 3: We need to get ourselves a quarterback. The first thing
- 48:38Speaker 3: I do is I look internally, what are we bringing
- 48:40Speaker 3: whoever the quarterback into Do we have the right system
- 48:44Speaker 3: around him and support system to bring in a young
- 48:48Speaker 3: quarterback and make him good. That's the first thing I
- 48:51Speaker 3: would do, is who would my coaches? You know, who's
- 48:54Speaker 3: my coordinator? Do I need to look at that first?
- 48:57Speaker 3: Because I want to make sure that whatever whoever I get,
- 49:01Speaker 3: he's coming into a good situation from a support standpoint.
- 49:04Speaker 3: That's the That's the first thing. And we know that
- 49:07Speaker 3: from experience like what happened from Matt Jones on to here,
- 49:11Speaker 3: like what that can look like, both bad and good.
- 49:15Speaker 3: So that's the first thing I would do. And then
- 49:17Speaker 3: I would then I would say, Okay, now who do
- 49:20Speaker 3: we want to get?
- 49:21Speaker 1: So I actually did this in the twenty twenty four draft.
- 49:25Speaker 2: You got paid to be No, I keep telling him.
- 49:28Speaker 1: That's what I came up with my own criteria when
- 49:33Speaker 1: the Patriots were drafting third overall and twenty twenty four
- 49:36Speaker 1: of what I would want in a quarterback. This is
- 49:40Speaker 1: why Drake was my pick because he fits all these boxes.
- 49:42Speaker 1: But I had three boxes that I wanted them to check.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Elite physical traits, generates easy velocity from congested pockets. I
- 49:51Speaker 1: think that's maybe the most underrated thing of anything with quarterbacks,
- 49:56Speaker 1: because when you have in the nflckets are much different
- 50:00Speaker 1: in the NFL than they are in college. In college,
- 50:02Speaker 1: they have all this room to throw, they can step
- 50:05Speaker 1: up into it, there's nobody around them, especially these really
- 50:07Speaker 1: good schools quarterbacks that come from like Alabama and Ohio
- 50:11Speaker 1: State that have these offensive lines that are five NFL
- 50:14Speaker 1: players on the line. They're never under pressure. So when
- 50:17Speaker 1: guys are in your lap, guys are at your feet, like,
- 50:20Speaker 1: can you throw the ball at the same amount of velocity.
- 50:23Speaker 1: That was what, in my opinion, is why mac Jones
- 50:25Speaker 1: failed is because mac Jones could only drive the ball
- 50:29Speaker 1: down the field with clean pockets. So that was those
- 50:33Speaker 1: two first things. The second one was at least a
- 50:36Speaker 1: general grasp of mental processing, Like I don't need you
- 50:40Speaker 1: to be Tom Brady right out of the shoot, but
- 50:42Speaker 1: it needs to look like you have a general idea
- 50:44Speaker 1: of what you're doing back there. From a mental processing standpoint,
- 50:47Speaker 1: I'd rather sacrifice that than the traits, but I need
- 50:50Speaker 1: to have at least a little bit of I like
- 50:52Speaker 1: that I know where he's looking. I understand why he's
- 50:55Speaker 1: looking over there. He's seeing the coverages things like that.
- 50:58Speaker 1: But I think the one thing that mac Jones taught
- 51:01Speaker 1: me was that you need to have a baseline level
- 51:04Speaker 1: of talent, like you just can't. You can't get away
- 51:07Speaker 1: with it all mentally and and vice versa.
- 51:10Speaker 8: I like that.
- 51:10Speaker 3: I think those are three good points, you know, you know,
- 51:13Speaker 3: I would refine the last one to how fast can
- 51:16Speaker 3: you process accurately?
- 51:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that one's tough because again, like in college, they
- 51:21Speaker 1: just have all day.
- 51:22Speaker 3: I know back there, there has to be some way
- 51:24Speaker 3: to at least get an idea, testing or whatever. Once
- 51:29Speaker 3: you start scouting these guys like to gauge that, to
- 51:32Speaker 3: put a number on it, because that's the speed of
- 51:35Speaker 3: the game.
- 51:36Speaker 2: In the NFL.
- 51:37Speaker 3: The pockets are smaller. You have to think faster and
- 51:40Speaker 3: be able to just figure out what you're going to
- 51:42Speaker 3: do like half the time you have in college, yeah,
- 51:46Speaker 3: if not more. And that's where I think guys fail.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:49Speaker 4: I love Evan's thing about the generating velocity deal because
- 51:51Speaker 4: that's something that Drake I'm always like they're.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Closing in and he's able to get it. Operate in
- 51:56Speaker 1: the phone booth because that's the NFL pocket you're never
- 51:59Speaker 1: going to. You's sitting in a pocket that's perfectly clean
- 52:01Speaker 1: in the NFL.
- 52:02Speaker 2: I think that's huge, and I think it's one of
- 52:04Speaker 2: Drake May's best trades. I can't believe how many accurate
- 52:07Speaker 2: throws down the field he's made. Well, the skipp and rip,
- 52:11Speaker 2: you know, like he's moving with guys at his feet
- 52:14Speaker 2: and he's sometimes in the air. That's a lead arm talent.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Yeah thing, And I think this is actually, you know,
- 52:20Speaker 2: I think there's more guys like that than you think. Yeah,
- 52:23Speaker 2: those guys that have skill.
- 52:24Speaker 4: I think this year's kind of proven it out though,
- 52:26Speaker 4: that you need an experienced offensive coach to mentor that person,
- 52:31Speaker 4: whether it's Ben Johnson the head coach, or you know
- 52:34Speaker 4: Sean Payton in Denver with from Nick Fred's point, or
- 52:36Speaker 4: you know this year with Josh McDaniels. It's just I
- 52:39Speaker 4: think you need a guy. I mean, it was nice
- 52:41Speaker 4: last year they tried with alex man Pelp, but and
- 52:42Speaker 4: an inexperienced guy who hadn't really done it, didn't know
- 52:45Speaker 4: all the ins and outs of everything that that young
- 52:47Speaker 4: quarterback is going to have to face.
- 52:48Speaker 1: And that's that would be priority one for me.
- 52:51Speaker 2: I don't.
- 52:51Speaker 4: It doesn't necessarily have to be the head coach. It can,
- 52:53Speaker 4: it can be the offensive coordinator.
- 52:54Speaker 2: That's a structure.
- 52:55Speaker 4: But having you know a guy that you believe that's
- 52:58Speaker 4: done it before, that you can and trust the quarterbacks
- 53:00Speaker 4: development too.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 1: I think guys like Drake May, guys like Josh Allen,
- 53:04Speaker 1: guys like Justin Herbert have changed a lot about how
- 53:08Speaker 1: we evaluate that position where I think a lot of
- 53:11Speaker 1: people prioritized processing accuracy, you know, that sort of stuff,
- 53:17Speaker 1: which is extremely important, but I think that the physical
- 53:20Speaker 1: tools are unteachable, Like you can't either the guys he's
- 53:26Speaker 1: an athlete and he has arm talent or he doesn't.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Like there's no unlockstep with Evan on this, and it's
- 53:31Speaker 2: why I really liked Caleb Williams and Drake May in
- 53:34Speaker 2: that class, and that's been a good class. Those are
- 53:36Speaker 2: not the only two guys that have had any success.
- 53:38Speaker 2: There's different ways to do it, but that's why those
- 53:40Speaker 2: two guys stood out to me. And I would ask,
- 53:44Speaker 2: if you could only have one of the two, would
- 53:48Speaker 2: you want a guy with the skills that Drake May
- 53:51Speaker 2: has or the aptitude that Kyle Shanahan has or Sean
- 53:56Speaker 2: McVay like, I'm not sure. I've seen a lot of
- 54:01Speaker 2: great skill. Like I saw Kyle Shanahan win some games
- 54:04Speaker 2: with Mac Jones because he has a great scheme and
- 54:07Speaker 2: obviously he made it, but he's just not good enough.
- 54:09Speaker 2: He's not good They weren't gonna win it with him.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Now. I don't know.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Evan might be right about Perdy.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Perdy might not be good enough either.
- 54:16Speaker 2: Right now he's on a heater playing well. You know
- 54:19Speaker 2: who knows. I'm just looking at this stuff because you
- 54:22Speaker 2: had made this earlier in the show, Mike. There's sixteen
- 54:25Speaker 2: quarterbacks that still have a chance to make the playoffs
- 54:28Speaker 2: because we don't know if it's gonna be Tampa or
- 54:29Speaker 2: Carolina in the NFC. We don't know if it's gonna
- 54:32Speaker 2: be Baltimore or Pittsburgh in the AFC. So there's sixteen
- 54:35Speaker 2: quarterbacks alive. You know how many of them weren't first
- 54:37Speaker 2: round picks. Two Purdy who was a seventh round pick,
- 54:41Speaker 2: and Jalen Hurts who was a second round pick. Every
- 54:44Speaker 2: other guy was not only a first round pick, the
- 54:46Speaker 2: vast majority of them were top ten picks. Yeah, you know,
- 54:49Speaker 2: it's Drake May, Trevor Lawrence, C. J. Stroud, Josh Allen,
- 54:52Speaker 2: Justin Herbert, Sam Darnold Baker, Mayfield, Bryce Young, and Caleb Williams.
- 54:58Speaker 2: Those guys were all in the top five, let alone
- 55:01Speaker 2: top half of the round, top ten. I think Josh
- 55:03Speaker 2: Allen was ten or seven something like that. They're all
- 55:08Speaker 2: top pit. You want to quote a quarterback with the
- 55:10Speaker 2: skills that Evan's talking about, you're not going to get them.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Like Purty is fine, but he doesn't have those skills.
- 55:16Speaker 1: And I'd say the same thing about Jalen Hurts, who
- 55:18Speaker 1: his second round pick is fine, but when he's asked
- 55:22Speaker 1: to do the heavy lifting, I think the things that
- 55:24Speaker 1: you look for is like, are these these are the
- 55:27Speaker 1: skills that are going to translate to we can put
- 55:29Speaker 1: it on his back and he's going to be able to,
- 55:31Speaker 1: you know, bring us to the problem.
- 55:34Speaker 4: Sorry, but they couldn't get a first down against Buffalo.
- 55:37Speaker 2: So the weather was it was miserable. It really was miserable.
- 55:41Speaker 2: It was a cold rain. Five of those guys were
- 55:44Speaker 2: first overall picks. I can't believe they.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Couldn't run the ball in Buffalo.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the thing that surprised me, like, I
- 55:49Speaker 2: kind of think they shut it down in the second half,
- 55:51Speaker 2: figuring they're not scoring on us. And I don't think
- 55:56Speaker 2: that they didn't try to move the ball. They threw
- 55:58Speaker 2: a couple not suggesting that, but I figured that they
- 56:02Speaker 2: thought we got a thirteen point lead, they can't move
- 56:05Speaker 2: the ball on us, and we're just going to run
- 56:07Speaker 2: the ball in the second half and they couldn't. That
- 56:10Speaker 2: the day was that surprised me. They should have taken
- 56:13Speaker 2: the points.
- 56:15Speaker 1: In the third quarter.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Buffalo should have taken the one, should have taken the fieldw.
- 56:20Speaker 2: I totally agree that's the one who can we get
- 56:22Speaker 2: back to that game a little bit because like the
- 56:24Speaker 2: McDermott thing that I think he's not catching any flag
- 56:27Speaker 2: four is that like they couldn't move the ball, they
- 56:31Speaker 2: completely lost control of the line the whole game.
- 56:33Speaker 1: The Eagles front dominated the game.
- 56:36Speaker 2: Every yard that Buffalo got was a struggle and a half,
- 56:39Speaker 2: and like Mike said, was like Josh Allen leaving a
- 56:42Speaker 2: part of his soul on the field.
- 56:44Speaker 1: This hole they had.
- 56:45Speaker 2: Momentum thing, Dude, can I go over that game winning drive?
- 56:49Speaker 2: Quote unquote. The game winning drive then included a fourth
- 56:51Speaker 2: and ten hooking ladder a jump ball to my boy
- 56:54Speaker 2: Mount Cooks, who made an unbelievable catch. Josh Allen on
- 56:58Speaker 2: third and goal broke seventeen tackles to get like down
- 57:00Speaker 2: to like the two yard line, and then they needed
- 57:02Speaker 2: a fourth down like push to get in the end. Like.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I give them all the credit in the world, buffalo,
- 57:08Speaker 2: But if I was Sean McDermott, I wouldn't have said,
- 57:10Speaker 2: I don't know. If I don't I don't know, if
- 57:12Speaker 2: I don't feel real good about putting another ten play
- 57:14Speaker 2: drive together, I'm taking one play to try to win
- 57:16Speaker 2: the game right now. And it was there, and the
- 57:18Speaker 2: quarterback missed the throw. Yeah, yeah, I mean it was there. Yeah,
- 57:21Speaker 2: I mean I he choked, what are you gonna do?
- 57:24Speaker 1: He missed it? I just get torn with him.
- 57:25Speaker 4: I mean, I don't mind the division to go for
- 57:27Speaker 4: the decision to go for two just because you have
- 57:29Speaker 4: Josh Allen and I under like.
- 57:30Speaker 2: And I that play has got to be completed ten
- 57:33Speaker 2: times out of ten.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Yeah, And how many of those miss throat right? And
- 57:36Speaker 1: how many of those plays did he make?
- 57:38Speaker 11: You know?
- 57:38Speaker 1: And there were some big conversions he already made them
- 57:40Speaker 1: over and over again.
- 57:41Speaker 2: What I'm saying like I I like we were home
- 57:43Speaker 2: in time for the whole second half of that game, Buffalo.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Every yard they got was like a miracle.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Yeah, right, That's what I find so unbelievable about their offense.
- 57:52Speaker 1: It's like, is that, you know, besides Cook's moss and
- 57:56Speaker 1: a guy, they have no downfield passing.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Game nothing, you know, it's all and that's not sustainable
- 58:00Speaker 2: down it And it made a couple of big catches
- 58:04Speaker 2: down the field in this game, but.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Right, that's not something like the Bills that we know
- 58:08Speaker 1: are a team that was Josh Allen's got the best
- 58:11Speaker 1: arm pound in the league. It's explosive, and they're still explosive,
- 58:14Speaker 1: but it's so different. It's run game, it's yards after
- 58:17Speaker 1: the catch, and it's the tight end. A lot of
- 58:19Speaker 1: it's cooked the tight ends, like Shakiir underneath.
- 58:22Speaker 2: And they definitely miss Kincaid in that game too, but
- 58:24Speaker 2: like they just couldn't they couldn't give him any time
- 58:26Speaker 2: to throw, and he's running around trying to make plays
- 58:29Speaker 2: because he had to. He took one sack that he
- 58:31Speaker 2: ended up fumbling the ball and lost like forty yards
- 58:34Speaker 2: and that led to the only touchdown of the game.
- 58:37Speaker 2: For the Eagles, and then he took another sack when
- 58:39Speaker 2: they took over in great field position that was had
- 58:42Speaker 2: to be like a twenty yard loss and knocked him
- 58:44Speaker 2: out of a field goal just like. But I see
- 58:46Speaker 2: with you, Fred, they had taken the first field goal,
- 58:49Speaker 2: which I think happened very early in the fourth quarter.
- 58:52Speaker 2: That changed.
- 58:52Speaker 1: There was plenty of time for possessions. I think it
- 58:55Speaker 1: might even late third.
- 58:56Speaker 2: I don't.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Maybe I'm wrong, but yeah, but I thought I thought
- 58:59Speaker 1: it was the fourth, but it might be.
- 59:00Speaker 2: You might be right. It might have been late third.
- 59:02Speaker 2: And and the way I look at it is that
- 59:07Speaker 2: you had no control of the So why do you
- 59:10Speaker 2: think you're going to get a fourth and goal from
- 59:11Speaker 2: the five? You have no control of the line of
- 59:14Speaker 2: scrimmage here? Why is this one? You know what I mean? Like,
- 59:17Speaker 2: at least if I can get if I can get
- 59:20Speaker 2: two yards at the end, you know, And Josh Allen
- 59:23Speaker 2: came a couple of blades of grass away from getting
- 59:26Speaker 2: in from the two yard line. I'll take my chances
- 59:29Speaker 2: that maybe he can make a play. But I just
- 59:32Speaker 2: didn't know at that time. Take the field goal. Now,
- 59:34Speaker 2: maybe they knew the field goal kicker couldn't make that either,
- 59:36Speaker 2: but they let him take the extra point.
- 59:38Speaker 1: It's just crazy to me that offense with Josh Allen
- 59:41Speaker 1: has such a tough time moving the ball sometimes. I know,
- 59:44Speaker 1: and that and that's he's awesome. So that's it's and and.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Credit they you know they but they contained Cook too.
- 59:53Speaker 2: They didn't let Cook running five yards to carry like
- 59:56Speaker 2: that's the key. It should not be it should not
- 59:59Speaker 2: be this hard for Buffalo.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: But it was.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: It was a great game to watch though. That was
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: like an old school game, like you normally thirteen twelve.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, you know, do that on your own time.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: But that was a good game to watch. It was.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: That was so much fun. It was.
- 1:00:10Speaker 11: It.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I mean, I mean I never rooted against Buffalo's hard
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: in my life.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: No, I mean, obviously Patriots had rooting interest, but I
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: just met the manner in which the game unfolded, like
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: very different kind of game. The Patriots had no stakes in.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: The Sunday Night game was also fascinating to watch, but
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: in a whole different way. Forty two thirty eight, it
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: comes down to two yards away again. You know, if Chicago,
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: you know, falls two yards shut.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: I just don't like having to chase it so early.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: It's like you don't know how the game's going to unfold,
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: and you have an opportunity for points.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: What were they down thirteen nothing.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Thirteen, so that's thirteen three. Then you score, it's thirteen
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: to nine. Even if you do miss that extra point
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: and then the touchdown wins it. I know, you can't
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: play it like that because things change. Maybe, yeah, maybe
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: the Eagles treat some of their offensive possessions differently had
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: they scored. But I think that the line of thought
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: was like, you're going to have them backed up and
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: then we'll get the ball back. And they did get
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: it that stuff, but that's got it right. That's the
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: possession that Allen ended up taking that big sack because
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: they had no control of the line of scrimming right. Yeah,
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: it's just crazy.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I couldn't believe that they couldn't the Philly couldn't run
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: the ball, Like that's a bad Bills round.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: They got a little banged up.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: He came back in the game, but they weren't getting anything. Yeah,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: and they you know, I think that's the biggest problem
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: with the Eagles. Like the Eagles are a run first
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: offense that can't run the ball, so that's not a
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: good formula for that.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: Did you guys when you were on the bus and
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: the plane feel like the tension around you because I
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: imagine you're on devices.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: But then you're moving so you're playing.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: It was really bad because the Wi Fi wasn't that good,
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: so like it was sporadic, so you you know, you
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: get it back and like you know, like a possession
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: had changed, right, That's what I imagine the tension once
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: we got on the bus.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Some streams are working.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: I am, I mean, I am interested in that because
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: I was part of it with Freddy, the one you
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: talked about with O one now, but that was life
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: and death, like the buy, whether you're playing like it was,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: was it similar to that because to me, like.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: We had wrapped We beat the Panthers and we wrapped
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: up the AFC East on that game, so we on
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: the plane home, we needed the Jets to beat the
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Raiders in order to get the buy and it was
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: the second vibe. We weren't the number one, and so
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: it was right down to the wire and we were
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: looking on these little TVs with antennas and it was
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: the stats guy from BCN the radio at the time
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: who said, oh, Raiders won, you know, And and then
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: Charlie Weiss was up front and he had his own
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: TV and like maybe two three minutes later, he's like
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: it's not over.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: We're like what.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: So he's in the middle of the aisle watching this
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: thing and he's like he's counting it down. It's like, oh,
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Jets win, and the whole plane erupted.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: I gotta be honest for it.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: I didn't even know you could actually get a TV
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: signal on a plane.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: You go from like one area of reception to another,
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: so like it'll lose it for like thirty seconds and
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: then it'll come back. And it's like the old days
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: when HBO started and you didn't really pay for it
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: and you're looking for the nipple between.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: The lines, you know, right?
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Who didn't like I didn't do that?
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: I did.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Did you you have a scrambler? You got in the scrambler?
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Of course everybody did. I was. I was out with
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: those boys on Saturdays. One more to worry about it.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: I was texting Barth was texting me while we were
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: in the air, and like he's like reacting dead plays.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Happening in the game.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: And he's like he's like, oh no, and I'm like,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: what happened? Like visceral hatred totally.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: I would have if I were you, I would have
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: felt like you had no idea what even happened.
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: I couldn't do it, and I had to because my
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: streaming was behind, and so finally I'm like, I can't
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: do this, Like on the last place, I'm looking at
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: my phone to jump ahead just to see because I
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: couldn't wait.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Like I'm like, on into my seat. I mean, obviously
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: you want to what happened. You want it to happen
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: so you can get it over with, but like, really,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: there wasn't just much to me pressure because you were
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: going to beat my am me this week anyway and
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: win the division. You know, you didn't want to have
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: to go on no, like in the one, the one
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: he's talking about, an one, like there was an enormous difference.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Raiders win this game, you have to play a wildcard
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: game and then go to Oakland the next week as
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: opposed to the Jets. Win that game, you get the
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: week and then Oakland comes to you. That's a huge
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: with one more point for just one other thing.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: I kind of like and made This is probably nonsense,
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: but like having secured the division, if they win, no
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: matter the result of this weekend, they probably win. It's
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: not like we made it. It's just a big celebration.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: We won the division and we're partying like it. Kind
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: of as soon as this game ends on on Sunday,
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: it's going to be right to the playoffs the focus,
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: So you kind of got that like celebratory part of
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: it out of the way.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: And I don't know, I just I think for a
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: team that's probably gonna have to play next weekend as well,
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: it's it's a nice little bonus for me.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Michael's in Texas. What's up, Michael, Hey, thanks for taking
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: my call.

- 1:05:08Speaker 7: Has has deemed Josh Allen Superman, you know, rightfully so,
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: but anybody who's who's a Superman fan who actually knows

- 1:05:21Speaker 7: called Doomsday.
- 1:05:23Speaker 12: So I say that we embrace it.

- 1:08:00Speaker 12: Kind of being able to find.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Out to celebrate in THEFC East Final, I.
- 1:08:06Speaker 8: Mean it was great. You know, everybody was kind of
- 1:08:09Speaker 8: watching on their phones or fallowing along, and.
- 1:08:13Speaker 19: You know, I think the timing of it worked out
- 1:08:14Speaker 19: well that, you know, the Eagles we were able to win,
- 1:08:19Speaker 19: and then we were able to kind of time it
- 1:08:22Speaker 19: up here and have the have the hats and the
- 1:08:24Speaker 19: T shirts here ready to go pretty quickly, and so
- 1:08:28Speaker 19: I appreciate that, and you know, Stick's crew having that
- 1:08:32Speaker 19: ready to go. Players enjoyed it, staff enjoyed it. I
- 1:08:36Speaker 19: thought it was perfect timing, and then everybody kind of
- 1:08:39Speaker 19: went on their way.
- 1:08:45Speaker 18: Funny balance seeking the time to celebrate while also keeping
- 1:08:48Speaker 18: your slightes out there.
- 1:08:50Speaker 19: It's about fifteen minutes to get a picture the shirts
- 1:08:54Speaker 19: passed out and the hats passed out and the pictures organized.
- 1:08:57Speaker 19: But other than that, back to work and focused on
- 1:09:02Speaker 19: the dolphins and focused on who we may have and
- 1:09:05Speaker 19: a plan that we'll have to try to put together
- 1:09:07Speaker 19: to improve. And I think that's the biggest thing, is
- 1:09:10Speaker 19: just trying to you know, really target the things that
- 1:09:14Speaker 19: can reasonably be improved from a technical standpoint, and just
- 1:09:20Speaker 19: you know, things that come up throughout the game that
- 1:09:23Speaker 19: we maybe been working on and that we've seen or
- 1:09:26Speaker 19: saw and then you know, some things that we maybe
- 1:09:29Speaker 19: been working on that that haven't showed up.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: And that's what you do.
- 1:09:32Speaker 8: You stay consistent and just continue to coach and coach.
- 1:09:37Speaker 19: Again, I'd always talk about coaching the action and not
- 1:09:39Speaker 19: the result, making sure that the actions are positive and
- 1:09:43Speaker 19: what we're looking for to help the team.
- 1:09:47Speaker 18: Quest conference, you said that you were unsure your team
- 1:09:50Speaker 18: was capable of taking advantage of basketball.
- 1:09:53Speaker 19: Yet at what point did that shift for you or Yeah,
- 1:09:56Speaker 19: I think that's probably It kind of goes up and down.
- 1:09:59Speaker 19: Any that changes by the day. Some days we do
- 1:10:02Speaker 19: and sometimes we don't. So I would say that we
- 1:10:06Speaker 19: have done that more more time than not.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: How much does funer Henry does not to find what
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: you look for in a meeting When we talk about
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: the culture who won here?
- 1:10:15Speaker 19: Well, I would just again talk about his consistency from
- 1:10:18Speaker 19: the very first time that I've been here with him,
- 1:10:22Speaker 19: through through the OTAs, through the off season, his work,
- 1:10:26Speaker 19: his knowledge, but then being at training camp and you know,
- 1:10:32Speaker 19: being where he's supposed to be and kind of always
- 1:10:34Speaker 19: making the plays that we need him to make.
- 1:10:36Speaker 8: And uh. But so I appreciate him.
- 1:10:39Speaker 19: I appreciate his leadership, and he always has good perspective
- 1:10:42Speaker 19: value his opinion.
- 1:10:45Speaker 8: That I always take it.
- 1:10:47Speaker 19: But you know, I appreciate the fact that he's not
- 1:10:51Speaker 19: you know, he's comfortable sharing, you know, the locker room
- 1:10:54Speaker 19: and the thoughts of the locker room or or maybe
- 1:10:56Speaker 19: what guys have going on and how I can address it.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: Injury, is that something where you could see him come
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: back in the postseason At the time, I'm.
- 1:11:05Speaker 19: Right again, we won't be able to see him for
- 1:11:10Speaker 19: another three weeks. So at that point in time then
- 1:11:13Speaker 19: we would have, you know, make a decision. And I
- 1:11:15Speaker 19: hope that's one that we could make. But right now,
- 1:11:19Speaker 19: I don't think I can you know, predict anything last
- 1:11:24Speaker 19: week that was a game injury yet WI check West
- 1:11:26Speaker 19: rusa him go out with an Angel.
- 1:11:28Speaker 12: Injury deal they have on him.
- 1:11:32Speaker 19: Sore probably could have returned, but won't monitor him here
- 1:11:36Speaker 19: in the next couple of days. I don't think it's
- 1:11:37Speaker 19: anything that you know, it's too significant. But you know,
- 1:11:42Speaker 19: we'll just see how he, you know, progresses here when
- 1:11:45Speaker 19: we get back to work.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: That's good to you handle. You have a crystal ball.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: He think he will practice.
- 1:11:52Speaker 8: I think he will coach real quick.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: Obviously, when you beat a team forty two to ten,
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: from a coaching standpoint, there isn't a lot there to
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: complain about, right, But then you guys.
- 1:12:06Speaker 8: Give up the there's plenty. There's plenty too, we can
- 1:12:10Speaker 8: find it right right.
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: I was gonna say, but then you give up the
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: fake punt. There is that something where you could look
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: at a play like that and say, hey, you know what,
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: we won forty.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Two to ten.
- 1:12:19Speaker 8: But yeah, I think a guy made a play. I mean,
- 1:12:23Speaker 8: it wasn't that they caught us off guard. We had
- 1:12:25Speaker 8: a guy there.
- 1:12:25Speaker 19: We were expecting that all week. I give Jeremy and
- 1:12:28Speaker 19: Tom all the credit to players.
- 1:12:30Speaker 8: For being ready. I just think the guy made a play.
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: You know, Schools was there.
- 1:12:35Speaker 19: I think Schools will tell you that, you know, he
- 1:12:38Speaker 19: wished he had that one back and to make the play.
- 1:12:40Speaker 19: It came back the next time and overloaded us. And again,
- 1:12:45Speaker 19: I'm really excited for those guys out there that had
- 1:12:48Speaker 19: practiced that. And we always kind of make a joke
- 1:12:51Speaker 19: about the great team and getting ready and having their
- 1:12:54Speaker 19: hands in the ground and feet set when they rushed
- 1:12:56Speaker 19: to the line of scrimmage. They overloaded us to the right,
- 1:13:00Speaker 19: which is something that we had seen him do.
- 1:13:01Speaker 8: To our left. We got guys over there case he
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: made a great play. Corey made a great play, So
- 1:13:08Speaker 8: you know, I just we were prepared for the other one.
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: They made a play.
- 1:13:13Speaker 19: But there are a lot more other details that and
- 1:13:15Speaker 19: technique things and tackling and finishing and protecting a quarterback
- 1:13:21Speaker 19: and blocking some of these runs that we can improve on.
- 1:13:25Speaker 19: Not to sit there and harp on the five yard
- 1:13:28Speaker 19: pass that they completed on you know, the punt return team.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: You seem Drake that allows him to play with so
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: much poison decisiveness. When the team started, the sky's covered
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: just against him.
- 1:13:38Speaker 19: I just think he's getting a lot more comfortable, is knowledgeable.
- 1:13:42Speaker 19: I think it means a lot to him to be
- 1:13:44Speaker 19: able to manage and understand what where we're going with
- 1:13:48Speaker 19: the football and the run game, and you know, in
- 1:13:52Speaker 19: the passing game and knowing where he needs to be
- 1:13:55Speaker 19: and where the protection issue may be and you and
- 1:14:00Speaker 19: then I think there's trust with with the protection. You know,
- 1:14:03Speaker 19: at times I think that there's trust. I think that
- 1:14:05Speaker 19: there's a trust that he can transfer into the pocket.
- 1:14:07Speaker 19: He can also extend. You know, they got him a
- 1:14:11Speaker 19: little bit onto one coverage and they jumped in the
- 1:14:13Speaker 19: cover two. He took a peek and then then took
- 1:14:17Speaker 19: off and so you know, I know, defensively, that's frustrating
- 1:14:21Speaker 19: because here you are you so you get a quarterback
- 1:14:24Speaker 19: to think it's one coverage and it's something else, and
- 1:14:27Speaker 19: then all of a sudden he just takes off and
- 1:14:30Speaker 19: scrambles for a first down.
- 1:14:31Speaker 8: So, uh, those are great.
- 1:14:33Speaker 19: Qualities to have and not panicing and throwing it into
- 1:14:36Speaker 19: you know, roll coverage and you know, just being able
- 1:14:39Speaker 19: to pull the ball down and find an escape room.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Speaking of qualities, I know you want and enjoy having
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: a tough Repull team. How much does it help if
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: your quarterback is one of the leaders in the toughness can.
- 1:14:54Speaker 19: Well again, we always talk about I believe that Drake
- 1:14:57Speaker 19: is tough. I don't think we have to put it
- 1:14:59Speaker 19: to the test. Or you know, we don't have to
- 1:15:03Speaker 19: always challenge his toughness. I think we just need to
- 1:15:05Speaker 19: protect him the best that we can. And he has
- 1:15:07Speaker 19: to understand that when he has the football, where he
- 1:15:11Speaker 19: needs to be and how he can protect himself. So
- 1:15:15Speaker 19: it helps to see him out there and blocking for
- 1:15:18Speaker 19: guys on reverses or you know, being able to stand
- 1:15:21Speaker 19: in there and deliver the football.
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: Yeah, there's no question. I don't question is toughness at all.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: And now great moments in.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: History.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: Did you stand up on the third level of the
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: state look out on the parking lot now and remember
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: what that parking lot used to look like.
- 1:15:42Speaker 12: It was.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: Like a big flea market park. We got to bring
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: morel into to make sure we were all safe.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and bring on the marine like just how.
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: Like the cement structures of like walking out into the
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: lower level where like you kind of come down the
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: ramp but you'd still be in like this like turret
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: almost like you know, and then you'd come up and oh,
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: here's the stadium. There's a field, like what's right here?
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: But I remember raining there and it would just be
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: like a river coming through those things, like you know.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: You couldn't even get to it would come out of
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: the pipe right down the stairs.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: And even inside you know they had that one building
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: in the end zone that was the build off. It
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: was there, the locker room, yeah, you and everything, and
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: the backstairs led down to the locker room and the
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: super box. The rightmell of urine would just waved up
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: into the wait like where.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: It would wat waft waft loft wafted.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: It was just awful.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: That's another great moment from.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: All Right.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: We're back eight five five past five hundred. Is the
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Hotline podcast at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Let's get right into it. We'll start with Boston Cream.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: What's up Boston Cream?
- 1:16:59Speaker 13: Yo, yo, Hey guys, hey, hey, I got a question
- 1:17:05Speaker 13: for Paul and a question for Fred. Paul, what's it
- 1:17:09Speaker 13: gonna take for Drake made to surpassed her BLOODSOE in
- 1:17:12Speaker 13: your in your heart, in.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: My heart, question in my heart? That that would be
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: a tall, tall order. But as a player, he's already
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: done things that drew BLEDSOE never did speak of you, Paul,
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: n ideal in.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Fact scrambled once more.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Emotion.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: What was the deer or whatever was? What did Ernie
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Adams compare him too.
- 1:17:44Speaker 13: And friend for our pats fans pick them. We're coming
- 1:17:49Speaker 13: down to the last week. Is there any way the
- 1:17:51Speaker 13: show could organize some sort of prize for the winner?
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll get something something good Jersey Mike Skiff.
- 1:17:58Speaker 13: Cirk are currently is Kevin from Minnesota, I believe, and
- 1:18:03Speaker 13: he's one seventy five and eighty one.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Okay, pretty good.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: The question, Boston Cream, is anyone worse than me? Please?
- 1:18:10Speaker 8: Please?
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: One seventy five and eighty one?
- 1:18:14Speaker 13: Yes, the people who gave up in week one are
- 1:18:16Speaker 13: somehow worse than.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Seventy five and eighty one.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: Well, they didn't start, did they start week one?
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: Is it not mathing?
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: It's not mathing, it's not adding up? Oh you know
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: what I haven't added in this week? Never mind?
- 1:18:30Speaker 13: Yeah, thank you guys, love the show.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: Okay, thanks Cream, Thanks thanks Boston Cream in credit than us?
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Yeah, oh no, he's this kid's doing well? Yeah. I
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: mean our leader had eighty three losses heading into week seventeen.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: What was there?
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: What was their record?
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: He said one something in eighty one? Okay.
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: Deshaun's in West Virginia. Hey, Deshaun, how's it going all right?
- 1:18:55Speaker 9: Good?
- 1:18:55Speaker 11: I want to think about saying that I'm glad of
- 1:18:57Speaker 11: how the city is I could playing out because regardless
- 1:19:01Speaker 11: how the other pacers fans field, I think we are
- 1:19:03Speaker 11: just to afford the builds, all got all costs, because
- 1:19:05Speaker 11: would you actually look at those other teams that Johnson
- 1:19:08Speaker 11: had to struggle against, like the Eagles, like the Texas.
- 1:19:10Speaker 11: People want to talk about excell and nose, but it's
- 1:19:12Speaker 11: really about the personnel too. They really had the personnel
- 1:19:15Speaker 11: to really beat up on Josh Allen, really frustrate him
- 1:19:18Speaker 11: and make them touch the ball to the point where
- 1:19:20Speaker 11: he gets frustrated, can't find anybody that he can throw
- 1:19:22Speaker 11: the Stem champions or whatever. The Pagers don't have that.
- 1:19:25Speaker 11: So I feel like that if you can go through it,
- 1:19:27Speaker 11: they go through, some teams are much better equipped to
- 1:19:29Speaker 11: handle him. I'll feel much better about our chances advancing
- 1:19:32Speaker 11: forward because we don't have those guys that the other
- 1:19:34Speaker 11: teams have. That's thanks what I wanted to say.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: Okay, thanks to Sean.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: I think defensively, you're putting a lot of eggs in
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Milton Williams Roberts playing Kiris Tonga and Harold Landry coming
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: back and being close to one hundred percent in what
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: they were at the beginning of the season because I
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: went to Sean, I think disruption wise, you know, whether
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: it's against the run or pressuring quarterbacks, they haven't really
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: been great. I didn't even think they were that great
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: against the Jets, to be honest with you. But they
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: need those guys back, and I think that changes a lot.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: I just named, you know, you start eleven guys, and
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: I just named four of them that didn't play in
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: the game. And I haven't been playing. So as much
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: as I agree on the surface that they might not
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: have a will Anderson and a Daniel Hunter and guys
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: like that, you know, Milton Williams is a difference making player.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: So if he comes back and he's himself and the
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: ankle's fine and all that stuff, like you got to
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: kind of put yourself back into more like what they
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: were in Week five against Buffalo, when they were disruptive
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: and they were stopping the run and not the team
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: that you saw out there a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: Such a key to me is like it's just such
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: a different team without Cook, you know, like him being
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: able to run, Like it seems like that's all they
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: have and when he can't get going now, it's like,
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: all right, Josh, it's all on you to do everything now.
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: At least when he has that element, you know, he's
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: able to. You know, it just balances things out a
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: little bit, both in the passing game in the run game.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: But I just was at the thing, I mean, is
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: it right?
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: Patriots most likely path would be the Chargers, the Texans,
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: and then the winner of the Bills and Broncos.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Well, if you assume the Texans we are going to
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: upset the Jaguars. Okay, so the Chargers are definitely the
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: most likely first round matchup, Yes, but there's still some
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: question about Buffalo and the Texans. Yeah, all three of
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: them really, but who like who wins? Right, because if
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Buffalo probably gonna win right there there, the well, the
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Patriots win their game, and then let's say the Texans
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: are the Bills upset the Jaguars, then that team's going
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: to Denver because they receeds. It's not a bracket. So yeah,
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: the worst remaining seed.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: I just I just really fell in love with there briefly,
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: being like, oh, Buffalo would have to go to Denver,
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: and then the Patriots are gonna.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Have to go to Denver or I think that's possible.
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: That would be the most likely scenario, I think, because
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: I think Buffalo is probably going to be said. I
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: think it's going to be Houston five, Buffalo six, Chargers seven. Right, So,
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: assuming the Patriots win, the next lowest seed would be Buffalo.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: If they were to win and they're going and they
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: would have to go to Denver, I'd like that. I
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: would like that very much.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Yeah, the Patriots could then you know, theoretically draw like
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: the Steelers. Yeah, in the division round. Yeah, I would
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: say probably Houston or if Houston beats Pittsburgh.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: I think the league really took it to an absurd
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: level this year with the whole Denver home game.
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: Giving them the first seat like that, just to make
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: sure that they you know, it's crazy paying Jim Harbaugh
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: that his quarterback in the last thought was you know,
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: I thought that was his favorite for John Harbor.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: It was a bridge too far.
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: That was a John har It's it's a it's a
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: deep conspiracy, you know.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: I enjoy, like I've really come to enjoy the Broncos
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: playing every game at home. Is there like some kind
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: of rationality to how Jim Harbaugh is trying to help
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: John harbaught.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: It relates to the Patriots.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: It's because of us beating them. They don't want to
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: do us any favors who beat it, like what like
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: we beat the Ravens. So he's helping out his brother
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: because they're pissed up that we beat.
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: So it helps out John Hobbaw that Jim Hobball now
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: has to go to Foxborough and play the Patriots.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: They want to beat us, They want to beat us. Oh,
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: they want another crack at us.
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: Yeah, So.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Let's throw this one out there. This time I'm going
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: to play Derek.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: But Baltimore doesn't have that choice anyway. Like I could
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: understand if you were saying Jim Hobbaugh wants to lose
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: this game because it helps Baltimore fall into the play
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: the Patriots in the playoffs. That would make some sense
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: to me. It wouldn't be accurate, but it would make
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: some sense to me. Here's here's a good conspiracy theory
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: for you. You want to for as long as we're
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: going to play in La La Land, I think Buffalo
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: hosts the Jets. You know, Josh Allen's probably going to
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: hand the ball off in the first play like he
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: did last year in Week eighteen, and then watch the
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: rest of the game Ski plays. Any chance the Jets
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: win that game, Yes, Any chance that the Bills lose
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: that game on purpose so they can fall to the
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: seventh seed and play the Patriots.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Yes, and we'll spend the whole week saying they want
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: to douce, they want to do Yeah, I mean that's
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: what they did last year against the Patriots. Now maybe
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: they did it.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: It wasn't so they could play the Patriots.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: No, no, no, it was the Patriots didn't get the
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: number one pick, is what I think.
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: Honestly, I guess the bigger question is there is there
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: any chance that the Chargers beat the Broncos.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a chance that there is. I think there's
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: a chance. I think the Broncos Broncos play games, and
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Lance is this is like the you know the answer
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: to That's.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Why I left it.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Gave it the cheap popular looking for it.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: It's unbelievable, it really is.
- 1:24:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: I think the Trey Lance is trying to establish himself.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: You know, it's four or five now, but he's trying
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: to find his way in the league, and the this
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: is an opportunity for him.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: He looked at good in the preseason. Honestly, I mean
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: that was a preseason, but he did look like better
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: than he has in the preseason. But yeah, they there's
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: a lot of.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: I would be more interested to see who else for
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: the Chargers isn't gonna play like is Herbert one of
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: seven guys that are gonna sit? Seven regulars that are
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: gonna sit in the game? Was six whatever the amount
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: of in actors there is.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Now it's a weird team.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: And it's like, yeah, James, der Mai and Hampton.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but like even they're not talking about like
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: sitting like Derwin James a great player, and but Khalil
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: Mack at this point.
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: Whoever, whoever, you decide your key players, are you gonna
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: sit them? And now not only it's Trey Lance, but
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: it's Trey Lance with all backups.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Yeah right, I mean that's what the Bills did last year, right,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: they played all backups across the board.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: Sawyers and Penn state, what's up, Sawyer?
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: What's going on? You guys?
- 1:25:58Speaker 14: Hear me?
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:26:01Speaker 16: Awesome. So I'm here with my dad and brother. We
- 1:26:04Speaker 16: love the show, by the way, and we're split talking
- 1:26:07Speaker 16: about Drake may being an obvious m VP candidate, especially
- 1:26:12Speaker 16: after the Eagles game and Josh Allen kind of dropping
- 1:26:16Speaker 16: the ball. Sorry, Evan because I know that's your guy,
- 1:26:19Speaker 16: and uh, between him and Matt staff would it be
- 1:26:22Speaker 16: better if Stafford won it this year and Drake another
- 1:26:25Speaker 16: year because it might go the team or Drake's head
- 1:26:30Speaker 16: might make it harder to resign him. And it actually
- 1:26:33Speaker 16: hasn't happened for a lot of qbs. It's only been uh,
- 1:26:37Speaker 16: Dan Marino, Patrick Macomes and Lamar Jackson the only guys
- 1:26:41Speaker 16: that have everyone their m v P in their second
- 1:26:43Speaker 16: season to the Super Bowl, right.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Just winning the m v P in the second year.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: What was the thing about resigning him.
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: I don't think it's tougher because I don't think it
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: makes I don't think it.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: Makes caliber season whether he wins it or not. Yeah,
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: he's gonna write his own yeah right, Yeah.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: I had someone mentioned that to me the other day
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: and was like, thanks, I'm going to add ten million
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: dollars And I was like, if he if he does
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: want to take the Patriots for everything, that like he
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: will get every last penny whether he wins the m
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: v P or not, Like he's going to be the
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: highest paid quarterback in the NFL if he wants to be.
- 1:27:20Speaker 11: So.
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: No, my guess whoever signs first between him and Caleb Williams.
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: I mean, whoever signed second will be the highest paid player.
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: Is there any chance that he has that incentive in
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: his contract? If I'm m v P, I get more.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: Now? No, No, you can't incentives?
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: Not really No, Okay, I thought that was the hang
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: up with rookie contract.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: No, no, it's how they pay out the language and whatnot.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: Okay, all right, that's.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: How they pay out the guarantee. I get that one, right,
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: sort of.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: Okay, the allocation of moneys. Yes, Francisco is in North Carolina.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: What's the Francisco?
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: What's going on?
- 1:28:02Speaker 9: Is going on?
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:28:05Speaker 13: So all right, so spurs, Lena say shout out with
- 1:28:08Speaker 13: my girlfriend and her mom.
- 1:28:09Speaker 6: They told me that I couldn't ask for no.
- 1:28:11Speaker 16: More Patriots stuff.
- 1:28:13Speaker 9: So we have a local store down here that makes
- 1:28:16Speaker 9: like high school jerseys.
- 1:28:17Speaker 14: So I had to pick me up with Drake May
- 1:28:19Speaker 14: and Stefon. Dig's high school jersey doesn't count Patriots stuff.
- 1:28:22Speaker 12: Loop Bowl and then a second all right, so you know,
- 1:28:27Speaker 12: before Graveon went out with his concussion.
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: You know they were what was he the favorite Gwinn
- 1:28:33Speaker 7: Rookie of the Year that week or oh, he hadn't
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: thought about that.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: He's in he's in the mix to win that.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, with Ted McMillan and and the Bluka's falling off
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: a little bit, but yeah, he's he's in the mix.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: Ye.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: And there's an Ohio state thing for Rookie of the
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: Year too, works in his favorite A lot of Ohio
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: guys win Rookie of the Year. Good player Zeke.
- 1:28:56Speaker 13: This week to lock it down.
- 1:28:59Speaker 12: And then with the way the Rookie of the Year shaping.
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: Up, what's the chances that it goes to a lineman instead?
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: Thank you guys, zero points zero.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: Yeah, they won't do that, even though I think that
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: that would be cool if a lineman was making Graham
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: doing solid fine.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: Not like Rookie of the Year. I mean, it's hard.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: It would be really really hard for an interior defensive
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: lineman or an offensive lineman to win an award like that.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Usually somebody in a statistical position has had a good year.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Defensive Rookie of the Year I think
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: is going to go to Sweessenger who's been awesome for
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: the Browns, but to more Ohio state guys.
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: By the way, Joey and Nick Bosa both edge rushers
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: who get a bunch of sacks, you know those kinds
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: of things.
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, Todd's and Gardner. Hey Todd, I can't say that name.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: It's tough.
- 1:29:52Speaker 16: Hey, gentleman, how you do it?
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: Good? Hey Todd.
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: So I tried to think of a nickname, and I
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: think them with Paul, I just don't think you can
- 1:30:00Speaker 6: is a good nickname.
- 1:30:01Speaker 11: The only thing that I.
- 1:30:02Speaker 6: Used a I for the nickname, and it came up
- 1:30:04Speaker 6: with the humble Howitzer And that sounds pretty pretty lame,
- 1:30:08Speaker 6: and so.
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: I tried to make it. I agree with Fred. Now,
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: how about horror Witzer.
- 1:30:14Speaker 6: And maybe like Jake make ready, make ready May?
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: I don't know that again, if you have to say
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: like I don't know, then it's not good. Yeah, it's
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: gotta be.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: No nickname, right, that's not that wasn't my thing. That's
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: what these I'm not taking credit for that. That's what
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: the Drake May lover did, right. He doesn't need a nickname.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: That's great. Drake May May May.
- 1:30:41Speaker 11: He is himular guy in Florida to give us our nickname.
- 1:30:44Speaker 11: You know, he's he's the guy for the nicknames, and
- 1:30:48Speaker 11: we'll just go.
- 1:30:48Speaker 14: With whatever he thinks. Hopefully Nick maybe loves still West.
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe.
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: Let's go there.
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: All right, Thanks, Todd, be better.
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: I don't need it.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: Nick.
- 1:31:01Speaker 4: We haven't heard from Nick baby love this year. Hope
- 1:31:03Speaker 4: he's doing all right.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: And I think I don't know if I've ever talked
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: to Nick. He's a pre post guy, always calling.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: But yeah, whatever's wants to do. Nicknames can't wait. So
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: I've got tons of them here. I'll go through some Anthony.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: Draco, Draco, Draco already like Draco Malfoy. Somebody called was
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: calling him Draco. I think our social team is I
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: want to say it was last year though, and I
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: don't know if that person is still on the team,
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: but they I've heard Draco before. Draco has been so like,
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: what is that is?
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: It's like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: I think it's just like, well, it's just I just
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: thinks I'm taking full I'm owning it.
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: I'm dismissive. I'm dismissive.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I haven't heard I haven't heard Draco this season,
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: but I definitely heard Draco last season.
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: Claims that the conductor has been used by Rabel in
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: several teammates.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: The conductor. That sounds like kind of like.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: Right the conductor, little guy with a hat. Watch of
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: the train come into the state now.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Like a word. I love the pops.
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: I celebrate them every New Year's Eve. Hey, check out
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: first night in Boston.
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: This right after, right after Eric and Maryland.
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: During during the post game show, Paul let it be
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: known as disdain for Drake May as a nickname and
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: suggested it search for a new nickname. I don't recall
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: if my contribution may have been mentioned before, but I suggest.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: The Carolina Reaper.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: Carolina Reaper.
- 1:32:46Speaker 14: Now.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: So it's no Humble Howitzer.
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's a it's a little much.
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: So we kind of shoot today with Humble Howitzer.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: I feel like I need to defend myself a little bit. Sure,
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: there's this notion that like I don't get it, Like
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: it's like I just don't find it funny. It doesn't
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: have to be funny. I get it.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: I get that I find it funny at all.
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: I'm not asking, I'm not It's what serious business we're
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: talking about here.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: So I was just suggesting that's really not a nickname.
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: Now I understand that's the point. That's the point. I
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: understand that this is like every time I say it,
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: someone tweets me don't add no, but they try to
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: explain it to me, like like I'm two and I
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: don't get it, like I understand, like there was explained
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: to me. I don't even know how long ago about
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: the Drake maylover site, and I get like the kind
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: of origin I now, I was added a piece of
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: information during that postgame show. The Tom Brady part of
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: it was not explained to me initially, which I think
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: adds important context. I do too, Thank you, Evan.
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: Finally somebody gets it. You're not serious, No, not his
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: whole conversation's not.
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: It's very serious. You would not believe the amount of
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: people like, well, actually it means. And finally I just said,
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: Lighten up.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: People like saying like I'm the old man, like screaming
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: into the like it's a bit.
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: Tyler from Delaware has several uh, let's hear him. The
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: maestro No Carolina cold blooded.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: No, that's too many.
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: Magic magic May was this magic magest Drake May Magic
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: May is not terrible.
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: The dude going on, Dude, I.
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: Get it, get ready for the playoffs.
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: The dude, but the big the man, Marvelous Drake may
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: or its previously said in case you are reading this first,
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: marvelous or may VP when he wins.
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: The m v P.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: Yeah, may VP is becoming a little bit more popular
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: as well. Play on words Drake and Bake. That one
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: just came to me.
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: Stephen rip is a good one, right, the skipping rips
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: kind of his like not a nickname, but it's a
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: thing he does.
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: It's too bad that Sam Malone stole may Day because
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: may Day would.
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: Be good Jay and Indie Drake Mayo like the sandwich
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: bread because he spreads the ball around.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: No, yeah, that maybe had a chance until you show.
- 1:35:33Speaker 8: Paul.
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: I mean he owes his career to the guy who
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: drafted him, Elliot Wolf.
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: Shout out, Elliott, good job, good pick.
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: Let's see Sam. No, he doesn't have a good one.
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: He thought Stephen Stefan Diggs started the Drake may may One.
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: He didn't. It was, as Paul said, that's how it started.
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: Yeah. John Drake is one of the youngest players in
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: the league at the moment and we had the goat,
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: so now we get the next gen goat in the
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: kid Drake. The kid may work some two fronts and
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: is easy off the tongue. Why don't you call him
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: baby goat rather than confusing.
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: One Fred is championing at the moment. Maybe it could be. Yes,
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: so I get that the kid, you know, which is
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: a playoff the goat. Not bad.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: A kid though, Beau like the name of baby cow
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: as a kid and right a calf. Sorry, goats are kids.
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: I get confused by animals. I don't like sheep.
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: Ted Williams was the kid. He was also the Splended Winter. Yeah, yeah, Jeremiah.
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: What about Mayflower before the Sea? A lot of before
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: the season, A lot of fans would use it as
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: taking the Mayflower to the Promised Land, telling other people
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: or players to hop on while.
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: He leads us to the super Bowl the Mayflower.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: Now, it's just so dismissive, it's so funny.
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: There's this another tyler. Let Drake bake.
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: No, let's see, let's see. Let's see another one. This
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: one the Kakilaki cannon.
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: Oh I know that.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you Drake cake because he's a snack. Drake cakes okay,
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: Drake maylower literally and Michael watch out.
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: So like none of these are well not moving the needle. No,
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: but Travis has some nicknames for some of our callers. Nate,
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: can you hear me?
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: Okay in Connecticut, Pat the Ambient and Agawam Todd the
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: nod in Carolina because he makes you not off, Sean
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: the yawn in Vancouver. Wow, Christian the Great Debate you
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: love to hate in La.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: That's pretty good. That was a bit mean.
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: Well that's we love that, that's true.
- 1:38:08Speaker 14: We do like that.
- 1:38:09Speaker 8: Yeah, I like it.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: Another person, the kid, Yeah, he's not going to be
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: a kid forever, like you know what, like you name like, yeah,
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: you come up with baby names and you got to
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: make sure that like is that going to be good
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: in like twenty years?
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: Like I can't call him the kid when he's thirty
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: five years old and still playing, you know, that's not
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: gonna make any sense.
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Draco, it's bothering me.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: Who is saying? Who called him? Draco?
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: Josh in Atlanta says Draco was a semi automatic pistol.
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: The nickname is not referring to Drake as a greasy
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: haired wizard.
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, Mike, who's greasy haired.
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: Huh yeah, So it's it's figured it's like a pistol,
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: you know. Okay, Mike missed the Actually better if it
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: was a shotgun.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: The rifleman.
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: Oh uh.
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: Fred another Fred, not me, says the Carolina cannon.
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: All right, all right, I think we're gonna stick with Drake.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: Drake May I think so too. I don't know, I
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: know this isn't like, yeah, that's what that's what we're doing.
- 1:39:16Speaker 12: Uh.
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: Nick believes he's dropped the mic with his money May
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: money May.
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: We'll see he's not a boxer. We'll see.
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: Money May out of out of those, that's not not terrible.
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: A further explanation as to what a draco is, uh,
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: Miller says it's a chopped down machine gun famous for
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: being hard to control and spraying. But to add the
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: nickname conversation, I've heard people call him Drake the schedule,
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: the schedule, which only really works for this year. But
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: calling him the schedule is a bit of a uh.
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: That's jab to all the people who say, I don't
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: mind that the schedule is kind of like the weekend
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: Yeah that singer, Oh yeah, I saw the concert, but
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: that that the schedule was popular.
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: At one point. Great throw by the schedule, Yeah yeah,
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: like some Monny tweets.
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like holding it right, you know, like by
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: the schedule here.
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: Yeah, like Drake May would throw like you know, bomb,
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: you know, and then people would be like, oh, that
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: must have just been because it's an easy.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: Schedule, right, and so we had that much in his career.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: I would see, Yeah, I would liked it better if
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: it was from haters and they were making fun of Oh,
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: it was like making fun. No, it's here, it's z
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: owning it. I forgot it. It was a it's a
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: Patriots fan.
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Drake May you know drops a dime sixty
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: five yards down the field. Must have been because it
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: was the schedule that the.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: Scheduled fourteen and three the worst nightmares.
- 1:40:47Speaker 8: I like it.
- 1:40:47Speaker 14: I like it.
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: It's blocked now.
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: I remember that one was big like around, you know,
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: like the Saints Titans Brown stretch of the schedule.
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: So if there's anything to replace Drake Drake when, to me,
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: it would be the schedule, the schedule.
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: But I'm still on Drake's disrespect. Okay, all right, so
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: you're dismissive.
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: How about how about Tim says, shake and Drake, Shake
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: and Drake and I helped.
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: I like the skipp and rip though. I think that's
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: got to remain part of the Drake main universe because
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: it's a little the first touchdown of Hooper was a
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: little skipping rip.
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: Not quite a respect not to have one, you know,
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: he has one has another one, pretty.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: Simple with d M because we slid into the playoffs.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Tim has another one.
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: The mayor.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: Definitely, yeah, the mayor, the mayor, I get it.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: Bruno says, since may Day has already taken, why not
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: May Drake. No, that doesn't make any sense just flipping
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: its name. Parker says, this isn't a democracy. When the
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: world has a player gotten a nickname that has blanketed
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: the fan base and then it changed, I.
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Don't know what that means. Yes, this is the nickname.
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: It's all over social media. Everyone loves it. Let it go.
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: Get on with f and Drake Drake may may because
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: the train is headed straight to the Super Bowl.
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: I'm with you, Emailer. I've been trying to say that
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: for an hour and forty two minutes. This is the nickname,
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: and really it's just going to be Drake.
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: I mean, when you're talking about real he's going to
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: be one of those guys. He's the first name Drake,
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: and it's.
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: Just it's just Drake may. He doesn't need some fancy Russell.
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: And Florida breaking news. He said the Cowboys.
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: They did? I think they anymore?
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: You have the emoji. I is looking at that brotherhood.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: Yeah, very expensive contract. So if you claim him on waivers,
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: you also claim the contract. And I guarantee you nobody
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: is going to want to claim that contract. So he's
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: probably going to be a free agent. Uh by time
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: he clears waivers. Everybody goes through waivers this time of year,
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: washed after the trade deadline. Probably a little bit washed.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: Yeah, Eduardo, Drake, the night mayor may oh now the
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: night Man and too difficult the night may Let's see
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: l from Wisconsin. So Paul called me out last week,
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: and I hate to admit it, but he was right.
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: I was being dumb. The clutch argument is not a
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: bad one. However, I don't know what that was about,
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: but I feel like people were making it in bad face. Sure,
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: Tom Brady has a winning record while losing in the fourth.
- 1:43:34Speaker 3: He's been that Tom. That's he's been that's Tom Brady.
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: Come on, the one game isn't gonna settle it one
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: way or another.
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how I felt after the Buffalo game. In fairness,
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: like one time he didn't come through, wasn't like he's
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: not clutch. But I say the same thing after Baltimore. Okay,
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: one time he did come through. I'm not now convinced
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: that that's never going to be a problem.
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: That he needs to wear Sleeve's discussion is stupid and
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: I will never back down from that. My nickname suggestion.
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: The chef. His wife bakes and when he's on the field,
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: he cooks. Not not terrible, not terrible. It's not strong
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: and Michael would love it. It's not strong enough. I
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: love it baked.
- 1:44:13Speaker 8: What is it?
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: Bake?
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: Baked?
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: Miss Big Big cameo in the last one by Will
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: Get Healthy Campbell sourdough cinnmonrole. I think it looked pretty
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: dang it was really good.
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: Was that the Sports Hub yesterday? And there were a
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: couple of hats laying around from Aria, Oh really, and
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: I wanted to grab one. He Will, I know you're.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: I do appreciate the the Drake may Will Campbell friendship.
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: Though that is that is real.
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: They they are.
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: They are very Campbell said, I die for you before
- 1:44:46Speaker 4: I even met them.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean they are like two peas in
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: a pod. Like they're both from the South, they're both
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: twenty two, twenty three years old. They're together all the time,
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: and it's kind of funny. I like it.
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: Aiden's in Plymouth. What's up? Aiden?
- 1:45:02Speaker 6: Hey, guys, Sorry to butt in on the long conversation
- 1:45:05Speaker 6: about nicknames the same topic, but I got a pitch,
- 1:45:09Speaker 6: But I want to say that Drake Drake may May.
- 1:45:12Speaker 6: It works better written out like I like that in
- 1:45:14Speaker 6: the internet comments. We don't really need to say it
- 1:45:17Speaker 6: as much. What I like about it is that, you know,
- 1:45:20Speaker 6: he defies comparison. He's self referential. He's a reference point.
- 1:45:25Speaker 6: So whether we're talking about you know, overthrowing receivers, drake'sprays,
- 1:45:29Speaker 6: or our our rivalry uniforms which we could be calling
- 1:45:33Speaker 6: the Drake Grays, he is always the reference point. So
- 1:45:37Speaker 6: my thought was, Drake May is the name, that's the nickname.
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: He's the name. It's really versatile. You can bring it
- 1:45:44Speaker 6: up in a lot of different ways. It could be like,
- 1:45:46Speaker 6: you know, I'm thinking of the breaking bad meme, say
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: my name Drake May.
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: You know draking bad that's my pitch.
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: One thing I just thought of and thanks for the call. Aiden.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: You know, Drake has shown us the way, so should
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: he be all the white mouse?
- 1:46:02Speaker 4: I thought, Peter Frampton all the way May, I thought,
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: maybe he's the way the way.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with Andalorian like, it's not the way
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: of Drake Drake May. May isn't to say the whole
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: thing like that. It's just that it's just Drake May,
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: Like he doesn't need a nickname, like we don't get it.
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: So then why are we doing this for two hours?
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: Because all said, and he says, getting the mentions, Ball said,
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: maybe somebody will have.
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: Nothing else going on with the football team right now. Well,
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: nicknames over and over again as usual. Friends, You were right.
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: You have a feel for these things, and we have
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: not gotten very many. The Iron Maiden, Iron May.
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: No, there are a lot of things that rhyme with
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: Drake and May though, so it is pretty.
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: Chat says nothing but a dre day. No, No, I
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: do like the way though, the way he is the way? Eldred,
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: what's up? Yeah?
- 1:47:06Speaker 14: Hey, so all this? How you doing?
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: Uh?
- 1:47:10Speaker 14: How about Uh, every to my feeling, I called him
- 1:47:12Speaker 14: the assassin, the throsy mate and you know the booty
- 1:47:17Speaker 14: and Witchcu and then Zone.
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: I just called him the assassin, the assassin.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: This is what I always called assassin.
- 1:47:24Speaker 14: I was just brustyle but other than that. But I
- 1:47:27Speaker 14: think y'all math Ron So y'all said, Buffalo go to
- 1:47:30Speaker 14: go to Denver. But that means Buffalo will have to
- 1:47:34Speaker 14: win a game. Yeah cause, uh Denver, you ever got
- 1:47:38Speaker 14: gotta buy?
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we're talking about the second round.
- 1:47:41Speaker 14: They would get the lowest the second.
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: Yeah, assuming the Patriots beat the Chargers. If they played
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: the Chargers and Buffalo is the next one, if they
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: were to win, then they would have to.
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: Go to to Denver. Okay, but that's a that's a
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: long way down there.
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: And you know, two weeks maybe if you think Josh
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: Allen is as good as you know Paul does, maybe
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: you're hoping for that because that's the way. That's the
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: route to having the AFC Championship Game in Foxborough.
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: That's the whole reason why Mike brought it up in
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: the first place. Okay, good Mike, I wasna good Mike.
- 1:48:19Speaker 20: So you can get insight like that on all Access
- 1:48:23Speaker 20: and Patriots this week. Also Superstar over there, Mike, Mike,
- 1:48:29Speaker 20: do so do so, it's just.
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: The deuced Sorry, yeah, there's Patriots put a statement out,
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: so we ain't touching it, but you can read the
- 1:48:42Speaker 3: statement on patriots dot com and social Eldrid.
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: Okay, all right, okay, let's go to Brad in Ohio.
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: What's up, Brad?
- 1:48:55Speaker 9: Hey, how you doing?
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:48:58Speaker 9: Good? So, you know, this is a kind of a
- 1:49:02Speaker 9: serious question, I guess because it's looking ahead.
- 1:49:06Speaker 6: So my question is.
- 1:49:09Speaker 16: What players are going to be.
- 1:49:13Speaker 9: The most the ones that will play most likely in
- 1:49:17Speaker 9: the playoff games coming up, and what percentage do you
- 1:49:21Speaker 9: give those players to play given where.
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: They're at right now and their.
- 1:49:28Speaker 9: Injury, you know, the laugh up that you guys heard about,
- 1:49:32Speaker 9: because I'm just curious for that. And then again, if
- 1:49:35Speaker 9: you for the people that don't think you should play
- 1:49:38Speaker 9: with sleeves, you know, I've come from cold climbs my family.
- 1:49:43Speaker 9: If you're going to stand out in ten degree weather
- 1:49:45Speaker 9: for thirty minutes, then let that person say that. So
- 1:49:50Speaker 9: that's I would say that. You know, it's different when
- 1:49:53Speaker 9: you're actually out in and having to work or something
- 1:49:55Speaker 9: like that.
- 1:49:56Speaker 14: Yeah, so you might you might have to be.
- 1:49:58Speaker 9: Prepared for it.
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: So we talked about thanks.
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: Okay, So is he just talking about all of the
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: players that are injured.
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: Yeah, he wants to know the percentage of them coming
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: back each one.
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I would expect all of them to play. Besides
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: Holland solends on intro preserve.
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: What about Spalline, that's the one I don't know.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: I would expect him to play. I expect him Tonga.
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: Why do you expect him to Campbell? Because I think
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: all of this is they've kind of known that they've
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: been pretty locked in at this point with the playoffs
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: and with the division, and I think that So you're.
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: Saying if it was a playoff game now, he'd be playing.
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. And that's not a report.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: I'm not saying.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: I just as just my hunch. I I just think
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: that a lot of this was we are in pretty
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: good shape, you know, and we have a pretty soft
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: end of the schedule, and so we're going to shut
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: some of these guys down and uh and get these
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: guys ready for the playoffs. So I think that pretty
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: much everybody at least has a very good chance to play.
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: Of course, besides Matt Collins, who is going to be
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: on Into Preserve.
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: I'm really surprised there's been no reporting on Spelene at all.
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: I mean, Toma gets hurt and you're like, oh, it
- 1:51:04Speaker 4: sounds like a couple of weeks from Ian Rappaport, Like
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: you do nothing, Like we don't even.
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: Know information attached to them really except for him. Now,
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: That's why I don't That's why I asked.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you know, the question that I would
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: just have is, I think there are some questions about,
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: you know, what do you do with certain guys and
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: if their replacements are one hundred percent, you know, and
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: they're only at seventy five eighty percent, Like is an
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: eighty percent Harold Landry better than Anthony Jennings and Elijah
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: Ponder kind of recreating Harold Landry or Darien Loew and
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: Will Campbell and you know plays. I think Millon Williams
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: is the one guy where like, if he's even seventy
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: five percent, you're putting Millen Williams on the field. But
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: there are some questions about, you know, how healthy is
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: healthy and all that stuff. But I think a lot
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: of these guys were being managed towards the end of
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: the season and probably could have played if you know,
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: last week was a Yeah, like I.
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: Would say Milton Williams could have been activated and play
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: last week. If we're a playoff game, I would think that.
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: But that doesn't mean that he's necessarily ready to go.
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: But I think if it's a playoff game, he probably
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: would have played. I don't like the concussion, guys, that's
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: a whole different thing. That's a protocol. Well, that's just
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: I don't know when Booty and Jared Wilson. They're going
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: to clear a protocol hopefully now.
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: But that's a fair one. Yeah, that's out of their
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: hands in some ways.
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously Henderson did and those other two didn't. Yeah,
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: you don't think they were resting them.
- 1:52:30Speaker 4: Do you guys know, if the top of your head,
- 1:52:31Speaker 4: how many games Spayne has missed now, And I think
- 1:52:33Speaker 4: it's at.
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: Least two since three since the bye, he's been out.
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: Buffalo Baltimore and the Jets, and he really didn't play
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: very much in the second half of the Giants game before. Yeah, again,
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: that's the only one that really hasn't had any reporting
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: attached on it.
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: And then I mean, you wonderause I mean, I just
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: tell the look on Vrabel's face when they said, you know,
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: last week, is there any chance that we see Roberts
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: Splaine and he like kind of side look frush trated,
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: look like we will not, you know, not unless there's
- 1:53:03Speaker 4: there's a Christmas mirror to get back on the practice field.
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: Like That's why to me that one was worth And
- 1:53:10Speaker 4: now I'm questioning what amount of games, like was there
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: an eye are consideration ever with him? Like or was
- 1:53:15Speaker 4: this something that you know, maybe it seems small in
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: that game that he came out of against the Giants,
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: and then you know, I mean he had an extra
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: bye week to get healthy on it.
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: So hopefully Evan's right and he's sort of slow playing
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: it and down playing it, and then he is going.
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: To be imagine Plaine is beside himself. I mean, he
- 1:53:32Speaker 4: seems like the kind of guy that would just ablete.
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: That he was active and then didn't play.
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: He was he was active in the Buffalo game, but
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: didn't play emergency. That was the weird one.
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: That was weird. He went through warm ups, he clearly
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: didn't look right in warm ups, and then he didn't play.
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: I was wondering even if something happened to him in Walmot. Yeah,
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: but I don't again, I mean if he had to speculating,
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: because it hasn't been any report.
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: I mean based on what you've just I mean, like
- 1:54:00Speaker 4: high ankle sprain. Is an injury that that I mean
- 1:54:03Speaker 4: an ankle? Is it a foot or is it an ankle?
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: Change listed as an ankle. Originally I thought it was
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: a toe.
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: It was a foot, then it was an ankle. Yeah,
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: they changed it.
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: Weird. Uh, Sue's in either La or Louisiana. What's up, Sue? Oh?
- 1:54:17Speaker 9: Hi, I actually sent the nickname in but you didn't
- 1:54:21Speaker 9: read myte email.
- 1:54:22Speaker 7: And Fred kind of started to say it the way
- 1:54:27Speaker 7: May the way, Drake.
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: The way May Oh that's your friend, you like, I
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: don't mind the way.
- 1:54:36Speaker 12: I think I started with the way in my email.
- 1:54:38Speaker 7: Then I realized, even drakes the way may you, but.
- 1:54:41Speaker 12: You can do both.
- 1:54:42Speaker 8: Yep.
- 1:54:42Speaker 13: I like it.
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: It's a Mendalorian reference though, Yeah, okay, I like it
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: all right, thank you, mad. I kind of like Drake
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: the way Drake it flows away. But you're telling me
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: it's like a don't take something, takes a little something away.
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: Yeah, well that.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: It's nerdy.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: We know, Paul, that is the way I like you,
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: just to give him wedgies and swirly birds. We would
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: not have been friends in high school, That's all you
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: got to say. Um, you guys would have been football
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: tewer because you were you were like heavy.
- 1:55:17Speaker 4: Would have loved your route running, but it would have
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: been all hand offs and you'd be like, I'd love
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: to throw the ball to You're really smart.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: But I could get it.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: We got we got five minutes. What are your thoughts
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: on like, say, age fifteen sixteen, Uh, Friday night your head. Now,
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: go to a party, have a few middle of lights
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: at fifteen sixteen.
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that wasn't my life. We're we're not asking, I'm asking.
- 1:55:39Speaker 2: We're not promoting that, we're not encouraging.
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: Would that would that be something that you would have
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: been interested in? Maybe?
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: Okay, so we would have been perfectly good friends. You
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: like sports, and you like to hang out on the
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: weekends and do things that you probably shouldn't at that age.
- 1:55:50Speaker 4: This was a skys I liked cereal and sitting at
- 1:55:53Speaker 4: home that was hot cereal. In high school, I mean Paul,
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: I left after my June just up and left after my.
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: Junior year like it was I'm going to get into
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: on this show.
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: No, I was a homebody.
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: I was definitely a homebody and a little bit of
- 1:56:06Speaker 4: a up and left like at.
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: You never heard this story. We won't tell it on
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: the air, tell it off air. I had to get out.
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: But uh, no, I was a home body. This really
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: sounds dark. He killed would try right?
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it's ah.
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: I wasn't a big go out guy until like and
- 1:56:30Speaker 4: then I went away and I kind of got, you know,
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: mature a little bit.
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: And then I was like, all right, now I have
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: somethow I definitely wouldn't have been able to do what
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: you did as a senior in high school going to
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: prep school. No, no, ten repeat a year, and I
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: was like in state. I wasn't even ready to go
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: to college.
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: I had a community stuck in Connecticut. Rights and uh,
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: to answer your question, Mike, when back when Gronk and
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: Hernandez joined the team, Andy Hart wanted them to be
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: g force an a bomb.
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: He absolutely tried to make it a thing. Am I
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: think I remember doing that as well, that vaguely, vaguely
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: remember the two of them. Yeah, I think I try
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: too hard.
- 1:57:08Speaker 4: Such a great last name and such an easy nickname
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: that's just soaper gronk.
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: Like I was, like, it's staring in the face Andy.
- 1:57:15Speaker 2: Oh you can you can say, right, you could be
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: deer from calling with Doug Gronk, which used to also
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: irritate Andy.
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: It's not dougros Gronk.
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: This is what you guys always do.
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: You put words in my mouth.
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: All right, well we tried, we tried, but the nickname
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: is Drake May May the way the way, the way
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: or the schedule are kind of run runner up and.
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: Skipping the schedule would be like an NBA nickname, like.
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: We really got to the bottom the big ticket.
