- 2:43[SPEAKER_05]: So I think I see some people somebody in here.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know about y'all but I'm pissed.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sad, I don't know if I'll get over it.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_05]: All this stuff.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_05]: I think two things can be true at the same time.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_05]: I think we can be sad that Miles Garrett isn't on the Browns anymore because we all loved Miles Garrett and having him on our team and it's nice having a superstar on your team, a face of the league guy on your team, a two-time defensive player, the year, and I'm just going to miss having Miles Garrett and what he meant to the Browns being on the Cleveland Browns.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_05]: In the same breath,
- 3:19[SPEAKER_05]: the browns did well in the trade, at least in my opinion.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_05]: I think both things can be true at the same time.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_05]: I know there's a lot of people who are like, we should have got 16 first round picks, plus all these players.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_05]: We should have got Jared Versus cousin, his brother, plus six round first round picks, and I'm like, guys, this isn't madden.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, and they're like, well, we shouldn't, then we should have, we could have got so much more miles had a no trade clause.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_05]: So people are mad that the rames first round pick is, you know, most likely going to be in the low 20s.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_05]: And it's like, well, we weren't going to be able to trade miles to a dumpster fire that was going to give us a top 10 pick or a top 5 pick.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_05]: He had a no trade clause.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_05]: only a couple of teams were going to be suitors for miles carry you were looking for a very like niche market to to give up a ton of assets and a player for a guy who's on the other side of 30 which you know it is a very limited market so I think the Browns did really well I think some people do not know how good Jared versus
- 4:23[SPEAKER_05]: thing.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_08]: I need to talk about that.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_05]: You know, so to talk about to people that are mad, we only got, oh, we only got one first.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_05]: No, we, we basically got two first round picks.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_05]: I would much rather have the proven player than an unknown commodity in a second draft pick.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_05]: And the Browns felt the same way we heard that the Rams didn't want to include verse, and that was their sticking point.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_05]: Like, no, we need the player.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_05]: Like, if you're going to take a player, we got to be able to replace a player with a proven commodity, a guy who we know who can play football.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_05]: And now the Browns have the last two defensive work of the years on their roster.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_05]: So, um, and just then looking even broader scope for what it means for the roster.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_05]: I think Andrew Barry has done a tremendous job in taking this roster and turning it over in a very short amount of time.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_05]: Like I know last season was painful, you know, only getting five wins.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_05]: But we have gone from a team that was kind of like we used to talk about on the show all the time.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_05]: We were in our window.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_05]: You know, we had Baker, Jarvis, Odell, Chub, we had a top five line.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_05]: Like we were in our window, and then we kind of, we broke it when we traded for Deshawn, and he ended up not being able to play football, not being able to stay healthy, all that good stuff suspended, and everything that went into that.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_05]: But once we were essentially out of that,
- 5:45[SPEAKER_05]: he has, he didn't stay married to that.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_05]: He is such a, we went from an old team that was on the decline.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_05]: And we are, we are maybe the youngest team in football now.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_05]: I saw we currently have 88 members on our roster.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_05]: And 83 of them are under 30 years old.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_08]: Wow.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_05]: So we went from a team that was aging and aging out quick to a young, talented, hopefully up and coming roster.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_05]: As long as Todd Munkin can develop these guys.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_05]: There is a ton of young talent all over this roster now.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_05]: And I've been on the record saying, I don't know how good the Browns are going to be this year.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_05]: But I think
- 6:26[SPEAKER_05]: in another in two years, three years.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_05]: The Browns have positioned themselves to be a legitimate team.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_05]: If it's not this year, the following year, or the year after.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_05]: Like they've turned this thing around really quick.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_05]: And maybe they don't do it this year because they're still so young.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, they're super young.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_05]: And you got to bring a new coaching staff and all that stuff.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_05]: But like the future is back to being bright, at least in my opinion.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, I agree with you, man, and I think I see a lot of people in the chat here talking about we should have at least got in two first round picks for Miles Garrett best defensive player in league.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_08]: I saw a lot of people NFL analysts and people on Twitter today posting how like from around the league you talked talked to GMs and engage value of players Jared versus a
- 7:15[SPEAKER_08]: Two-year player, 25 years old, he's made the proble both seasons, and like Blake said, defensive rookie of the year in 2024.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_08]: Jared Verses has a trade value right now of two first round picks.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_08]: The Browns got Jared Verses and a first and a second and a third.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_08]: It's actually quite the hall for Miles Garrett if you think about it that way.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't think people again, they don't realize how valuable Jared versus like I had to wrap my head around it because ultimately when I got this I'm sitting in a meeting I get the deets on my phone and like oh great we got a player just a first round and a second and a third I wanted I was promised three firsts that's what I was promised you know then then I had to dial it back.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_03]: and it goes back to what we're saying and we said numerous times on this podcast when it comes to a quarterback in their second, third year, past Russia, those are very valuable assets on the team.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: Want to fix the other, right?
- 8:16[SPEAKER_03]: And people don't give those up.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: in their second year on the rookie contract when they've won defensive rookie of the year and they've been our pro bowlers twice.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_03]: Twice, nobody gives that up.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: So we end up taking a piece that didn't want to be here anymore and wanted to go win a Super Bowl somewhere.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_03]: And we acquired a piece that was younger.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_03]: not necessarily on the same trajectory, but is that damn good football player?
- 8:45[SPEAKER_03]: And one thing that they've said in the last three years, we want damn good football players and we don't want shitty football, you know?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_03]: So with verse, it's not a shitty football player, you know?
- 8:59[SPEAKER_05]: And, oh, sorry, I thought you were done getting good.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, I said, I was pretty much done.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_05]: To put things in perspective, and I want you to remember, I am not saying the Jared verse is mild, Garrett currently, or will become mild, Garrett, mild, Garrett's a unicorn.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_05]: We totally get that.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_05]: But there are guys who are in one tier below him that are still
- 9:25[SPEAKER_05]: highly, you know, sought after players, Max Krausby's, Micah Parsons, these kinds of players.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_05]: So I went back and I looked at the first two years of Jared vs. Greer vs. Greer vs. Greer's, because it's not fair to compare Jared vs.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_05]: to current miles Garrett.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_08]: I say a lot of people trying to do that.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_08]: They're like, well, you can't replace miles Garrett.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, they didn't.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_08]: That's why you got the first second and third on top of it.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_08]: Go ahead.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_05]: And in Jared versus still under control now for a couple of years.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_05]: We have this.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_05]: But so I went back and compared their first two seasons, miles Garrett played 27 games.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_05]: Jared versus played 34 probably, you know, playoff games,
- 10:10[SPEAKER_05]: for Jaredverse, solo tackles, 54 for Miles Garrett, 71 for Jaredverse, assisted tackles, 21 for Miles Garrett, 53 for Jaredverse, now the sack, Miles Garrett's always been a sack king, 20 and a half sack since his first two years for Miles, 12 for Jaredverse, force fumbles, four to five in favorite Jaredverse, fumble recoveries, one to two in favorite of Jaredverse, probles, two to zero in favorite Jaredverse.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_05]: defensive rookie of the year, Jerber vs.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_05]: Miles Garrett down.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_05]: Again, I'm not saying that he's going to be Miles Garrett or he is Miles Garrett, but he's he's ascending.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_05]: He is a player on the rise.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_05]: We got him before he hit his prime and and this is what I've been trying to get through to people is
- 10:59[SPEAKER_05]: Miles Garrett is amazing and I didn't I wanted him to retire as a brown obviously just like every other brown's fan But having him we won fought eight games the last two years and he had a losing record in all but two seasons of his career in Cleveland if I'm not mistaken
- 11:16[SPEAKER_05]: You know, um, it's just one of the things like having a, an elite edged Russia and Mao's gear didn't do, it didn't translate to wins for the organization.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_05]: Now that's not his fault, but it's just, he doesn't play the position that, that gives you wins.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_05]: And, and then, so the Browns are two to three years away from putting a serious contender on the team.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe you're optimistic this year and you think we, we, we,
- 11:42[SPEAKER_05]: maybe push for a playoff spot, but I think if you're being really honest with yourself, you do not think the Browns are legitimate, Super Bowl playoff contenders this year.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, that's two to three years down the road.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_05]: Miles Kirt's gonna be 33-34-35 years old by the time the Browns are seriously thinking about contending with the roster.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_05]: We have no idea what kind of player Miles Kirt's gonna be at 34 years old.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_05]: He already gets banged up.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_05]: You know, I mean, there's been, there's been a many times where you get to end of the year.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_05]: And Miles Garrett is just gutting through injury after injury after injury and he's playing just because he's superhuman.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_05]: Those add up.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_05]: You have no idea.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_05]: Once you get on the other side of 30, father time can hit you quick.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_05]: We could see elite Miles Garrett for this season and then who knows the next season what happens.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not predicting it's downfall, I'm not saying the Rams struck out and they overpaid, but I'm just saying like you traded an older guy for a guy that you have control who's on the rise, who put up better numbers than Miles Garrett did in his first two years.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_05]: Do it that what you will, but the Brown's got a top level player.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: Here's a place Miles Garrett with.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: Here's the thing to add on to what you're saying.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_03]: Like, ultimately, Miles Garrett is 30, right?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_03]: And you can fan hard.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: Like, when I first heard this, I got punched in the gut.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I did not want this to happen.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I want to go to games and watch him in a Browns jersey.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_03]: I want to bring people to my Browns backers chapter and I want them to watch him with me.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_03]: But,
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: He is 30 years old and if you take a look at the Reggie Whites, if you take a look at the Julius Peppers, if you take a look at the JJ Watts, the Damascus Weirs, there's this window of like 33 years old where these elite...
- 13:29[SPEAKER_03]: pro bowlers kind of start tapering off at 32, 33 years old.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_03]: So ultimately what they've done is they've basically traded miles prime now for Jared versus in a couple of years.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what they've done.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_03]: And we got picks on top of that.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, they reset the position on their own roster, which they've been doing at every other position.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_08]: They're resetting with young talent.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_08]: They're building this young, super core of players.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_08]: Jared versus the perfect one I was saying all morning to day like if they trade with the Rams, I want Jared versus back because we only have Alex right and Isaiah McGuire on the roster at the edge position.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_08]: We need the, we need players there.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_08]: I want, I want, I want verse.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_08]: And if, you know, everybody wants first round picks that you have no guarantee that you can use a first round pick in 2028 or 2029 and get a player like Jared versus.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_08]: But, I mean, these, these, the, Ed rushers of his caliber, those are the guys that you try to get in the first round.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we just went ahead and got him.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_03]: And take a look at what the Browns have been saying in their pressers, right?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_03]: They want competitive tough football players, football character, loves a game, leadership potential, right?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_03]: They've said all that.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the one thing about Miles Garrett, he leads by action.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_03]: But if you want to go for someone in your locker room that fired up, because like, hey Blake, like what's the biggest thing we've complained about with the problems?
- 14:55[SPEAKER_03]: Is they're not fiery, right?
- 14:58[SPEAKER_03]: We've had Nick Chub, Joel Betonio, all guys we love, not criticize them it anyway.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_03]: But there was maybe a lack of fire that's been brought up through comments here and there, right?
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: Reserved cerebral.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_03]: We got this guy now that's vocal energetic.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_03]: Real firecracker, you know, is it intense dude?
- 15:21[SPEAKER_05]: It's if brown screens like Todd monkey.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_05]: They're gonna like charred verse.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_05]: You know, yeah, no kidding.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_05]: I mean kidding.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_05]: is in a high-o kid.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_05]: I love watching Americans come home.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_05]: I see a comment here.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_05]: I want to address well one two of them from Nancy.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_05]: Hey guys, let the positivity.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_05]: Here's a great locker room guy up the Browns meeting.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_05]: There we go.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_05]: Ms. teammates talk great.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_05]: That's
- 15:44[SPEAKER_05]: Somebody said go listen to his mic up.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_05]: He's a dog like that's the kind of guy that brown screen is going to really attach to And then another common I see here how many games we're going to lose because we don't have miles terrorizing the opposing offense Yes, first is almost statistically close to miles, but it's not the same my pushback will be we can't lose many more
- 16:04[SPEAKER_05]: This is true.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_05]: We can't lose many more because even with miles dominating offenses, we won five games this year and three games the year before.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_05]: So I would say if we didn't have miles two years ago, we at worst could have only lost three or three more games than we did.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_05]: So that's the whole point is just we're on two different timelines.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_05]: And I for one, I didn't want
- 16:33[SPEAKER_05]: on a good team, as just a football fit, a pitcher of miles in the postseason, getting to play with a lead.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_05]: Imagine Miles Garrett playing with a lead, just pinning his ears back, playing on a good defense.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_05]: Like, obviously I'd rather watch him in Cleveland, but I'm excited to watch Miles and see what he can do with the last few years of his career.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_05]: So I don't know if it's one of those trades where like, I just think both teams got with they needed out of it.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_08]: They did.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, a couple of things I wanted to say too is, you know, I took a lot of crap from people over the last couple of months talking about these miles-gurt trade possibilities and people saying, well, you're just looking for stuff to post and rage bait this and as soon as they move that bonus date.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_08]: That was so clear that they were at least leaving the door open for this to happen.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_08]: Not just the Browns, but the Browns and Miles, because both sides had to agree on that, mutually, to make it happen.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_08]: For me, the biggest play at Factor in this whole thing.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_08]: He didn't want to be here anymore and he said that earlier Blake's mentioned it.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_08]: We can be mad at the Browns.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_08]: You guys can be mad at us for talking about it and trying to find the silver lining and everything and all this, but the truth is he just didn't want to be here.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_08]: I was listening to Jake Burns on Brown's film breakdown earlier.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_08]: he pointed out that when the contract was set up last year okay so when they did that massive extension with Miles Garrett after he went on that super long media tour telling everybody how he wanted to get out of Cleveland play for somebody who knew how to win and you know pretty much thrown us under the bus big time.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_08]: they laid out that that contract so that this trade window would exist.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_08]: So what his speculation was and I think he's totally spot on.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_08]: He said the Browns probably sat down with Miles Garin said, listen, what the way your contract is now with two years remaining, we cannot financially trade you.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_08]: The dead cap would cripple us.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_08]: We can't do it.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_08]: Let's give you an extension.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_08]: Let's make you the highest paid non-cororder back in the NFL and NFL history and we'll lay it out in a way that next year
- 18:32[SPEAKER_08]: If you want to revisit trade talks, there will be a window for us to do so, and that's what they did.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_08]: And then they move the bonus date back, and it's like, you know, here we are.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_08]: And I think he saw the state of the team with the uncertainty of quarterback and the youth movement, because again, like Blake said, are we serious contenders in 2026?
- 18:53[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, even with Miles Garrett, it's a stretch.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_08]: Next year gets a little more rosy the year after that.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_08]: This young core is going to grow and be really good, but they, like Blake said, two different timelines.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_08]: Miles Garrett's timeline did not match up with the Browns and the Browns sure has held it and match up with what Miles Garrett wanted to be doing right now in his career.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_05]: Imagine being the guy to run Baker out of town tree three first one picks for Watson paying the biggest contract And if a history run Nick Chobot of town trade miles Garrett unreal one we didn't run Nick Resott of town.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_05]: He didn't we didn't run Nick Chobot of town.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_05]: He just kept getting just got old.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, just got old Okay, the rest of the stuff running Baker out of town.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like he kind of ran himself out of town out the other stuff You know
- 19:41[SPEAKER_05]: those things happened.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_08]: The ones I think did happen.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, and this is still a ramification of that.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_05]: I may crash out of the brown start Watson after trading a Hall of Fame player because Watson was such a colossal fair hearing Watson give us the best chance to win after this trade should send you to the Gulag.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_05]: I will say this.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_05]: trading miles Garrett to me is the organization saying we're not going to win the Super Bowl this year.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_05]: You know, we're not making the playoffs this year.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_05]: This is not the year for winning.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_05]: So then it absolutely makes no sense to start to shine Watson.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_08]: That's where I've been at all days like K. So moving Garrett tells me we have to be playing Shador, right?
- 20:20[SPEAKER_08]: Because it makes no sense to
- 20:27[SPEAKER_05]: Because if you're not going to go well, if you thought, if you thought you were legit contender this year, then you don't trade miles Garrett, because obviously, you know, I mean, because obviously, miles Garrett's the best defense of playing football, this just signals that you don't think you're going to be good enough to compete this year.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_05]: So why would you start a quarterback that won't be on the roster of the year after?
- 20:46[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and like, you're, we throw it to an interception and seven on seven's guys.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_08]: Come on, like this is, we're not good Watson can be that quarterback.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_08]: That you said on the last year of his deal.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_08]: If they thought that he was actually regaining form, which when I see people say that I'm just like, I can't, I just don't even know what to say to people sometimes.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_08]: But it's OTAs, man.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_05]: Another thing I saw, somebody was talking about miles.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_05]: And I think lost in this, the new defensive coordinator, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_05]: Did the Falcons not lead the league in sex last year?
- 21:23[SPEAKER_05]: they were like at 10 or something like that.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_05]: I thought they were really high up there and said they didn't have my skills.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_05]: Like he knows how to get production out of.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, I think they did actually they were.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_08]: I thought they let the leaders in the leaders.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was like an interception.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_05]: So like this guy this guy can get production out of.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_05]: players, not named Miles Garrett, you know what I mean?
- 21:43[SPEAKER_05]: So like obviously losing Miles, your sack numbers could go down, but this guy knows how to scheme up players and get guys looks and get them one on one matchup.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_05]: So like, guy like Jared version, come in here and see his sec total, his sack, go up.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_03]: 57 socks man 57 socks pretty good.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we don't have that great face here in the chat says why start should doors and this trade to go after the franchise quarterback in the super amazing 2027 class my answer to that is you start should or because you still don't know like there's still a and I'm not saying it's going to happen so I people think oh you you're saying he's going to be the guy never said that he's the only one on the roster as the potential to maybe be the guy
- 22:25[SPEAKER_08]: It, you know, the 49ers didn't know that Brock Purdue was going to be the guy.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_08]: but he turned out to be.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_08]: So what did they get to do with their future draft capital?
- 22:33[SPEAKER_08]: Use it on other pieces, build a team, don't we roster?
- 22:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I don't know if she does the guy, but you started and are fined out because what if he is, in a perfect world, my dream is you start should do her, and he looks pretty good, like good enough for you, feel good, that he's the guy.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_05]: But we still lose a decent amount of games and finish with a top five pick, and we can somehow get to her my Smith.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_05]: That is, that is like my, if I can watch competent offense, but we still lose 12 games and some and get Jeremiah Smith going into the next year with this core and add him to Casey conception and boss did and get Jerry Judy out of here like, okay, I'll be very excited that, but you don't find that out unless you start your door.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_08]: No, you don't, so.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_08]: I think that's the route.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_08]: I would go.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_08]: You know what you have with the other guy and it's not much.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_08]: You have the situation we're in right now where we're talking about.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_08]: We just traded the best defensive player we've ever watched.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so anybody's watched.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_05]: Do we want to take quick break and come back into the voicemails?
- 23:44[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, let's do that.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_08]: We'll be right back everybody.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_08]: Hang tight.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_08]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_08]: All right, Browns van, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 23:55[SPEAKER_08]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_08]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_08]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_08]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_08]: There's no house trying to beat you.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_08]: Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_08]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_08]: And it's not just sports either.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_08]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_08]: It works like this.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_08]: Simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.

- 25:40[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, let's do it.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_08]: All right, let me think.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_08]: I can't remember who said what.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_08]: Here, we'll just start at the top.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_08]: This one's from Grant.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_04]: Well, sure you boys have heard my host Garrett.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_04]: He's gone going to Los Angeles, right here.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_04]: Did you thought so on it?
- 25:54[SPEAKER_04]: We got a very, very, very, very, very, and I was playing 27 first round pick.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe something else coming with that.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_04]: I hope was there.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, I kind of saw a comment, so you boys saw a comment, but a long miles gear it.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_04]: I personally hope he gets a long-body trophy, he's Jason.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_04]: The guy does deserve that.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_04]: I want to give him a bit with some brown, but it's one of these he gets it.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, here I should see you then, woo, woo.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I think as a fan of what the player did for us all these years and how much funny was to watch and everything I like Blake said earlier, I will be rooting for him when the postseason arrives as long as you know the Browns aren't playing the Rams, but they're in the NFC.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_08]: So I'll be rooting for them the whole way to just to see Miles Garrett actually get to go achieve what he set out to achieve.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_08]: I think that's cool.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we all got one of caught games, except for maybe two games this year, and I know the Rams play a lot of force, so I'll be watching that right after.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_08]: Next one.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_08]: Yep.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_08]: Looks like yep.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_08]: Good to go.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_08]: Next one here is from Justin.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_07]: Definitely a sad day.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_07]: Love Miles Garrett.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_07]: And at first I, you know, I was amongst the group thinking, you know, we should have got more first round picks and watching some clips on him for the past about 35 minutes.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_07]: First is an absolute dog.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_07]: I'm very excited for him to bring his youth in.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_07]: His talent, two-time pro bowler and all that else that's on his resume.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_07]: You know, hey, we got we've got another exciting draft next you a two first rompix I'm super excited for the kid to come here and play and you know miles Garrett always love him You know, you know, you know, you know, defensive player the year But I remember multiple games over the past year or two where he was getting pulled off the field because his feet were in pain and
- 27:44[SPEAKER_07]: You know, his body isn't going to last forever, and I'm absolutely for this super excited for first of the honor team now.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_07]: Super excited for where we're headed.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_07]: Man, and two first drum picks having, you know, next year is going to be exciting to look forward to it.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_07]: We should be absolutely ecstatic about this trade.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_07]: The more I watch film and clips on first, so happy to see him with our defense.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_07]: We already have it's going to be legendary.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_07]: Let's go Browns.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_07]: Oh,
- 28:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, man.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_03]: He's just like we were saying earlier.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_03]: It's like everybody got punching the gut.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't want to see it, right?
- 28:21[SPEAKER_03]: And then when you actually take a look and you put your GM cap on, it's a good deal.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_08]: You know, it's in it's different like for me, Kenny, we were talking before Blake before you got on here.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_08]: And
- 28:33[SPEAKER_08]: I've been kind of holding back a little bit talking to you guys on previous episodes, like trying to deliver the soft blow that this is probably going to happen.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_08]: He's probably gonna get traded, but everybody gets so butt hurt about it.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_08]: Like, Ben on a shape and push it back, like, that you're an idiot, and they would never do this.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, fine, because Kenny texted me this morning and said, do you actually think he's gonna get traded?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_08]: What'd you say, Ken, you're like, I'm about 20% and I said, yeah, I'm 90.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_08]: This is done, the done deal.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_08]: It was, they had this deal in place for a while.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_08]: They told they met with Miles Garrett in person on Saturday and thanked him for his time here and all that stuff.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_08]: So they had their good buys.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_08]: This trade wasn't place because the Browns are out there golf outing today.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_08]: They weren't in the office feeling, you know, trade calls and working up deals.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_08]: This was, this was done.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was I was swimming in that old river denial man just big time just taking golf so water because I went to the I went to the ground breaking ceremony.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_03]: The face of the franchise isn't there to sell tickets to give his thoughts on the new front.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_03]: The new stadium it was odd you know like I know he's got Chloe Kim and they are where they are in their relationships so he thought they were traveling but that should have been a clue to me as well.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you guys have got a loser mentality because of this team, please explain why do we have a loser mentality who said that I'm trying to find it I don't know how to pronounce their name period much in Sondu.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_08]: I don't I don't get it because I'm vicious having a little little Crash out here Fans sounds like a bunch of losers.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_08]: I hope Miles goes and wins a Super Bowl
- 30:16[SPEAKER_08]: What do you want us to say?
- 30:18[SPEAKER_08]: We hope he goes there in sucks.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_08]: No, man.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_08]: Like, to give us nine years of his life.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, he got us the sack record last year or so much fun to watch.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, he's a Hall of Famer.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_03]: He's at the pinnacle of his career.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_03]: Barry's treating him well, you know, moved him to a contender.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, he just, there's not much left for him to do here.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know what you want to hear.
- 30:46[UNKNOWN]: You
- 30:47[SPEAKER_08]: I will be on Matt Stafford back injury watch, like a hawk this season.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, no kidding, like any week something.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I'm not in for injury, but you know, that's, you guys did Jake Burns said that too.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_08]: We are one Matt Stafford back injury away from maybe having the top 15 pick next year.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_08]: You just never know, like when the falcons traded their future first round pick in 2025 to the Rams, they thought they were gonna be good.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_08]: They didn't know they were given the Rams
- 31:18[SPEAKER_08]: So you just never know what's going to happen.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_05]: Are you guys still out on Bosa?
- 31:24[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, any out on those, and it's just going to be a good price, because I don't know how much just injury concerns throughout his career, but if you get them on a team friendly deal, I'm definitely, I don't think you'll find anybody in Ohio who doesn't want to buzz on their team.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_08]: Dude, absolutely, get it, get Joey Bowson here.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_08]: And again, at this point in his career, he's more of a rotational piece.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, he's not going to be your three down starting type player on the other edge.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_08]: So he would be a great rotational player with,
- 31:52[SPEAKER_08]: Alex Wright, Isaiah McGuire, would Jared verse in there.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_08]: I think that would be a nice, that'd be a nice unit at the edge position.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think he's coming here, but.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_05]: Do you think not drafting an edge rusher is a mistake now, McGuire in the last year in his contract, too?
- 32:07[SPEAKER_05]: No, because we swapped- Was that Jared Versus?
- 32:10[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_05]: In the same spot we were, we still got Jared Versus in place and Miles Garrett, then he still got Alex Wright McGuire opposite him.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_05]: And I think I saw the, they're looking to have maybe add one, they're still, I don't know if there's any freeze, it ones out there still, but- Did you trade for Josh Sweat?
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: That's one of them I saw.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but you trade for him because I mean, you got a couple assets now that you acquired.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe you could throw one that way or some of the assets that we required in the draft.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what it would take to prime out there.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_05]: We should have a lot more money now, right?
- 32:46[SPEAKER_08]: That it did free up some money, I think.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_08]: I forget I'd have to go find the tweet.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_08]: I'll pull that information later this week so we get it all accurate.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_03]: Do we, we freed some up with cotton, batonio and yeah, those first we cut one into place today to 3.4 million cleared.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_03]: So this, something.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_08]: The thing is, we also have, you know, Logan Fano.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_08]: We've got some UDFA guys that I think the team's actually pretty excited about that Corda Snyder from shoot, somebody in the chat helped me with that.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_08]: Where was what college come from, but he was apparently running
- 33:22[SPEAKER_08]: was out of VOTAs for just a little bit, whether it might have just been rest, but, you know, miles wasn't there.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_08]: So I don't know.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_08]: We have some young guys in there.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_08]: It'd be interesting to see how camp goes.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_08]: Vanderbilt is from Vanderbilt.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_08]: That's what it was.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yep.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_05]: This is, I mean, when is the last time the Browns have actually won consistently?
- 33:40[SPEAKER_05]: It's just some of you guys just don't see it.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_05]: Jimmy has them.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_05]: Once people like you to keep supporting his slop,
- 33:46[SPEAKER_05]: the browns have not won consistently in my entire life that is 100% true also true it's not because Jimmy has them hasn't tried it's because he sucks okay the dude has poured the dude has poured so much money into the Cleveland Browns he is paying so much cash in escrow for all the guaranteed contracts and converting contracts to uh
- 34:09[SPEAKER_05]: bonuses to free up cat space.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_05]: This dude is spending more cash than anybody in the league.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_05]: It is not because he wants there to be sloppy.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_05]: He's trying everything he can to make us good.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_05]: He just needs to let football people do football stuff.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_05]: And eventually he's going to learn that based on the draft last year.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe the draft this year.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe he's finally letting
- 34:32[SPEAKER_05]: football decisions and not analytical decisions and baseball guys make decisions for the franchise, but yes, two things can be true again.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_05]: The Browns can have been a dumpster fire for most of my life, and it's not because Jimmy has them once us to be a dumpster fire, it's just because he's not a very good owner.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_08]: So and there's a lot of
- 34:55[SPEAKER_08]: The fans, I get it, fan reactions are all over the place, because again, I didn't want to trade miles, Garrett.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_08]: You never want to see one, the best player on your team, leave the team and he's also the best defensive player in the entire league at the same time, like you want that guy on your roster, but I also get the feeling that a lot of people that are
- 35:12[SPEAKER_08]: saying all the Browns are idiots for the doing this trade and they never should have moved him how you ever going to win if you don't keep your best players would be the same exact people in two years like any was saying when miles is starting to hit his decline and the Browns still haven't won anything they'd be the same people saying why didn't we trade him when we had the chance we should have gotten for him.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_03]: exactly we've been we've been bitching about this forever so about not miles but not getting guys out in time and not like there's it's very rare that players stay with their teams for the entire duration of their careers so if that's not the case if that's 99% of the time
- 35:54[SPEAKER_03]: get something while it gets good, especially when it doesn't look that great for this season.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_03]: And the cards have been thrown in on the season already.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's all, it was in the discord a quote said it's better to be a year early than a year late.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it sucks and it hurts but much rather trade miles gear this year when he's at the all-time highest history values going to be then if we try to do it the next year after like a you know and he starts a decline you start seeing him lose a step or something like that you know and you can't see the future you don't know when it's going to happen so I'd rather be a year earlier than a year late and it just this is why is a GM you can't run your franchise like a fan
- 36:34[SPEAKER_05]: You know, because if, if Andrew Barry was just a fan of the Browns, we'd still have Nick Chub as our starting running back.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_05]: You know, we'd still have, like, they, you fall in love with these guys, and you never, you can't ever make the hard decision.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_05]: It was better for the future of the Browns.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_05]: to get Jared verse and a first round pick in the second round pick in the third pick.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_05]: It was better for the Browns two and three years for now than it was to keep Miles Garrett right now.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_05]: You have to be able to make that calculated hard decision if you're going to be a G.I.P.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and I see people in the chat saying like Barry gave up three first round picks for Watson.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_08]: That's what we should have got back for Garrett.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_08]: First of all, Watson was a young quarterback.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, like a top five quarterback in the league.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_08]: That's completely different than an edge rusher.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_08]: It's still an important position, but it's not the most important position.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_08]: And again, guys, we've already talked about this at the top of the show.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_08]: Jared verse based on who he is, where he's that in his career.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_08]: What he's done so far through just two years with three years of control on a rookie deal.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_08]: He is worth two first round picks right now in league circles.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_08]: So the Browns did get three first round picks back for Miles Garrett plus a second and a third.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_08]: It was a good deal.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, again, they didn't lose a spot.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_03]: They didn't lose a spot.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_03]: They didn't vacate a spot like on their defensive line, which may have happened in other instances.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: You got something that's five years younger that has provol potential because he's already got two under his belt.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_03]: you know that's that that's why it's good and again like it's hard to wrap your head around and I get it because I had to before I came on here I had to figure out you know I had to stop being a fan but the GM had on and go okay was this good?
- 38:21[SPEAKER_05]: This says from Biosio 186 Rams fan here, Jared versus a dog due to his two TTs and the playoffs.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_05]: Appreciate you stop it in, given us some insight.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_05]: Also enjoy Miles Garrett.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_05]: I'm really happy you went to an MSC team.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_05]: Like I have to, I have no ill will towards the Rams.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_05]: I like Sean McVeigh.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_05]: I've always liked Matthew Stafford.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_05]: He just went to a team that and I think they're stadium super cool.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_05]: It's on my bucket list of stadiums to visit.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_05]: So far away from Cleveland, out of a conference, out of sight, out of mind, I had no ill will.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_05]: I can just, he can just go over there and it just doesn't haunt me.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_05]: You know, he didn't go to the chiefs or or something stupid like that.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, would be awful.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I see Colton says there are another team he could have gone to that would have had the ability to give us more capital.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_05]: I think the only other team that was really even thinking about it were that was the Eagles,
- 39:21[SPEAKER_05]: Miles, the Miles News went, and then three hours later, they traded AG round of the Patriots.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_05]: It's like they were holding on to just in case they needed them for that Miles Garrett deal.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_05]: And once they lost out of Miles Garrett, they said to New England.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: There was some dot connecting for the Patriots 2 with Miles just because of Mike Frable, right?
- 39:42[SPEAKER_03]: There was some of that.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_03]: And then there was like this three.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_03]: This convoluted three way trade between the two and everybody gets their stuff in the Browns all end up with picks, but for the most part that was there was in a lot.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_08]: Jared verse was the thing when this deal.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_08]: I think even more than that.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_08]: Don't get me wrong.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_08]: The 2027 first round pick is great.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_08]: But whenever you read the reports that the Browns were adamant like no, Jared verse has to be part of this deal and the Rams didn't want to do it.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_08]: you know that they wanted that young proven player, which that is so valuable because again, the draft is a crap shoot.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_08]: How many teams use first round picks on players that don't pan out?
- 40:26[SPEAKER_08]: Just look at the Brown's history of first round picks.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_08]: They don't always pan out.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_08]: Go, you get a guy.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_08]: And I saw this too posted a lot today and I agree with it.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_08]: This trades a little weird because you don't often see players in their after their second year of making two probals being defensive rookie that player never gets traded on the rookie deal.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_08]: This is very rare.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_08]: The Browns pull something off here that's not often done.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_05]: This is love this podcast so much.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_05]: Appreciate that.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_05]: But this is painful coping.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think we're coping in my like in terms I I said at the very start of this episode I'm sad to see the player go because I like the player in in my mind football sense
- 41:08[SPEAKER_05]: this was almost a no brainer in terms of like if you're if you're gunna if you're gonna trade them which it just makes it makes sense to do it keeping him we won three games two years ago guys we won five games last year you know what i mean and that was on a we hit somehow ended the season on a two-game win streak we were staring at back to back three win seasons right in the face having him
- 41:37[SPEAKER_05]: Did nothing for us in terms of wins and losses, which at the end of the day is the only thing that matters.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_05]: Can you say that the Browns failed Miles Garrett, they didn't put a team around him that allowed us to win games with his talent?
- 41:49[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you can say that, but it doesn't change the fact that he doesn't give us, he doesn't have him Miles Garrett, didn't make us super-able contenders.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_05]: That's evidence by the fact that we've never been super-able contenders with Miles Garrett for nine years, right?
- 42:05[SPEAKER_05]: So this is a this is a move about the future 100% you can't be so short-sighted that you don't see that Like what so you have miles Garrett for two more years and he he gets a bunch more sacks and we only went three games and five games again And then we he rides off into the sunset or his he starts dwindling and he isn't playing it's such a high level And then we're just stuck with this giant contract of a player is not playing it's such a high level But you want to keep him because you want to be a lifer
- 42:31[SPEAKER_05]: So then you start giving him one-year deals and two-year deals and giving him a massive contract and he's just on your books like This just made the most sense for the Browns and for their future.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_05]: I thought coping.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_05]: It's just the facts.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_08]: No, and I mean like for me Definitely it's not coping because I was fully expecting this like I didn't know if it would happen right on June 1st
- 42:52[SPEAKER_08]: But I was pretty much accepting already that Miles was getting moved this summer.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_08]: I just, that's what the moves the Browns made.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_08]: I know, I was talking to Kenny before the show and he said, you know, Andrew Barry, and then they said they don't have any intention to trade and have this stuff and I said, actions over words.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_08]: What is the team doing?
- 43:12[SPEAKER_08]: Cause they're gonna tell you the right stuff in a press conference.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_08]: But the moves they made with the contract, the pushing back of the bonus, it's like, they're gonna trade him.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_08]: If they can, it doesn't mean that anything's gonna transpire, the rate deals are gonna come up, but if the rate deal comes up, this guy's getting traded.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_08]: I just know it's coming.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_05]: I saw two comments here.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_05]: One from our guy Colton is the reality of the situations we can get five sex, a game out of miles, Garrett still lose by 17 points.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_05]: That's happened.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's just that point.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_03]: I had that point and I forgot about that.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was a Patriot's game.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's just the way it is.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_05]: And then another person said, we'll be lucky to win three games this year.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_05]: If Miles Garrett was on this team, we'd still be lucky to win three games.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_05]: Because we only won three games two years ago with Miles Garrett on our team.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_05]: And we only won five games last year with him on this team.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_05]: And he broke this sack record and was defensive player the year.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_05]: And we scratch and clawed for five wins.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_05]: That is you just made my point for me.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and then I see I don't even know how to say it be all bsa fo 7 says why didn't they trade him last year before the extended contract already talked about that but again he had two years remaining on his deal the dead cap hit was made his contract untradable they had to extend him structure it so that way he was tradable this summer This was all set in place last year when they gave him that extension and involved with a march or April.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah
- 44:39[SPEAKER_08]: You guys want to do another voicemail?
- 44:40[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, let's do this one's from Connor.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: Stop boys, Connor calling in.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: Just saw the Miles Garrett trade and just wanted to call in.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I agree with Josh, you're never going to receive full compensation for a player's like, for a player like Miles.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not going to happen.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's one of the greatest defensive players in the game, but ever to ever play.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: So the whole we got back, obviously it looks like we got whatever one's saying is fleece,
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's a pretty nice return for a guy who ultimately wanted out of Cleveland.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: He does not want to be here and we get a young up and coming edge rusher who is really talented.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: I would have liked to see another first round pick, but I mean beggars can't be choosers.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: A.B.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: is doing a fantastic job at re-tooling this entire team and making us a lot younger and just getting athletes just absolute dogs.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: But with that being said, I love the podcast, appreciate everything you guys do and go Browns.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_08]: appreciate that corner.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, man.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: We got a he's a football player, you know, and just based on the last two drafts.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm feeling good about Andrew Barry and what he's doing.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, let's see what they can do this year.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we got a fiery coach now.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: We've got a fiery defensive coordinator.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_03]: Like when I hear that guy talk, feel like he's going to pass out because he doesn't breathe in while he's talking, you know, and now we've got a
- 46:07[SPEAKER_03]: do vote well for the defense.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully that fire catches on and we start getting some of those turnovers like they had in the last year.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_08]: Well, you said this earlier, Kenny, we're getting football players, good young football players who are just naturally by nature hungry dogs.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_08]: They want to go out there and they want to ball out.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_08]: They want to be great.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_08]: They want to get those second contracts, you know, so yeah, the future definitely looks good here.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_08]: Even if it sucks right now because we lost my own Garrett guys, like Blake said to start the show, both things can absolutely and are absolutely true.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_08]: This episode is sponsored by Butcher Box for Pets.

- 49:00[SPEAKER_08]: All right, we got two more of this one's from Ben.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hey guys, it's Benner from the UK.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_00]: Just saw the potential Mars Garret trade.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't actually know how to fill a buyer to be honest.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jared first, who is a very good player and a first round pick, and then like a bunch of other picks, I don't know, it's not confirmed yet.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if we're getting a good deal out of this or not.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how to fill a buyer, you know?
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: Jared versus it is a really good player.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: And like we've got guaranteed a first round pick,
- 49:36[SPEAKER_00]: like it's miles garret you can't replace miles garret so minimum two first run picks surely i mean it's it's sad to see him go if he does go you know like he's a legend of this franchise you know i don't know i didn't think you can replace him but i do feel like this trade is a pretty good place to start but yeah you guys let me know go dogs
- 49:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you can't replace miles.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_03]: It's not, if you look at his war number, and that's in PFF, right, it's 0.79.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_03]: It is the highest in the league, he's irreplaceable, but you're ultimately doing what I said earlier, you're taking his prime right now, and you're trading it off for assets and the potential prime of first.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what you're getting, it's like before the other color, like you're you're not going to get the exact value because you can't place it when you try to get something younger just trying to match it up, coach it up and hopefully you get it.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_03]: But it's a good trade overall and don't get me wrong.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, as a fan, like, I'm not happy about this, you know, like, I'm still pretty devastated about a love-miles carrot, man, but like I said, if you put your GM cap on and you think about what this does for the franchise, it's a good move.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_05]: I said this a bunch of times, I think last year when he made his trade request and I said it even this year.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_05]: Miles Garrett was worth more to the Browns than he was to other teams.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_05]: So all of these people who were at least three first round picks, or should have been two first, two second.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_05]: That's just not, this isn't Madden, okay?
- 51:19[SPEAKER_05]: Like it's, especially when we have limited leverage.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_05]: Miles once out he has a no trade clause and there's only one other there's only one realistic suitor form we we don't we can't we can't just call them and say it's three first round picks two second round picks Jared verse and Matthew Stafford or no deal and they're just going to say okay no deal and they're going to go about their lives and they're going to go content for the Super Bowl and we'll try to win three games with Miles Garrett on our team like
- 51:48[SPEAKER_05]: I saw another comment here said last year it's kind of like a course correction that the Mason or Mike a Parsons deal was kind of like okay that's an overpay you know market correction this this is a more realistic deal if you were always good if you always looked at the previous trade to see what your next trade would be
- 52:06[SPEAKER_05]: 20 years from now, if you traded a very good dn, what are you going to give up 20 first run picks?
- 52:13[SPEAKER_05]: Are you going to give up 30 players?
- 52:15[SPEAKER_05]: You know, I mean, you can't always be one uping the trade.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_05]: The market's going to correct itself.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_05]: You have to be realistic.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, good.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_08]: And we'll go to off your point there.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_08]: Look at it from the Los Angeles Rams point of view.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_08]: You want to go get miles Garrett absolutely.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, you do the browser saying okay.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_08]: We want your first round pick in 2027 by the way the 2027 first round picks are very hard to come by nobody wants to give them up because it's a highly coveted class will it actually turn out to be
- 52:47[SPEAKER_08]: we'll see draft circles are very high on this class in 2027.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_08]: And they have been for a while.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_08]: So the Brown said, we want that first round pick.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_08]: And the Brown said, we also want your super young, two-time proble, former defensive rookie of the year, up and coming ascending elite edge rusher in the package.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_08]: Ooh.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_08]: And you want our first round pick?
- 53:09[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and we want another second and a third.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_08]: You know, whenever you start thinking about it, like, what are you willing to give up?
- 53:17[SPEAKER_08]: on on your side of things to go get that player.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_08]: It's, I don't know, it sucks losing miles, but like we've said, over and over here, the time was right, the time lines did not match up.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_08]: And he didn't want to be here.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_08]: So they got the absolute best deal.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_08]: I feel like they could have possibly gotten getting jerky for me as just.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_08]: Hmm people if you have not watched Jared verse if you don't know who he is you're not familiar.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_08]: I get it.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_08]: I understand now everybody watch its rams game stays and watches the four o'clock slate.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_05]: I get it This kid is freaking good I think Nate said it in the the discord today um If the rams weren't in like there like it Superbowl window, you know like gonna compete with it everybody would be screaming about how they overpaid
- 54:07[SPEAKER_05]: it's the they didn't overpay because miles is like a missing piece for them to maybe get over the hump and compete with the c-hawks were the Super Bowl.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_05]: But if they were like a team just trying to make that leap, everybody would be saying they overpay.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_05]: That's just that's what they would be saying.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_05]: I had one more thing to say, and I don't remember.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_05]: Colton asked if I think he should have to sell his rights to the calves, no, because he's always going to be welcomed back and Cleveland for me.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_05]: I'd love to see him at calves' games, and then crayfish in here said, he said it was cop again, and I've yet to hear the argument for why we're wronging your right other than you.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_05]: So you can't just keep saying, cop, explain to me why it's cop, why am I wronging your right?
- 54:50[SPEAKER_05]: huge fan of Jared Versus isn't an up on him whatsoever.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_05]: It's simply not enough for Miles Garrett.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_05]: I needed to first keep up the great work, but you got to first.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_05]: You got more than God.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, in at least according to league standards, you got you got three first.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_05]: Jared Versus were two pit first run picks and then you got a first run draft pick.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and so right here's B safe overpaid not after the saws gardener trade.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_08]: We have to stop comparing trades that aren't apples to apples, people.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_08]: I think another thing we haven't really talked about this yet, first of all, the rams are taking on a 30 soon to be 31 year old player.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_08]: So you know you have a limited amount of time with this player.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_08]: Plus, you're taking on the full contract.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_08]: Browns just gave him the highest non-paid quarterback contract in NFL history last season.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_08]: You know how much?
- 55:37[SPEAKER_08]: I don't have a broken down here.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_08]: It's on Twitter, I'll have to find it for an episode later this week.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_08]: The Rams are taking on a lot.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_08]: down the road, not this year, not next year, the way the contract is structured, but in a few years, it's big.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_08]: So you got to look at it too from the Rans point of view, like, okay, so you want our first round pick next year, you want one of our best young defense of player on this team, and you want us to take on all this contract, and a second and a third, like I just don't understand how people don't see why this was a really good deal.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the contract versus taking on a rookie contract based on the hell that we've been in with where we are at.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's that alone is so huge for the Browns.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_03]: And I think somebody mentioned is Denzel the next.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think we can do anything with Denzel's as we moved.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_03]: Miles Garrett.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_03]: So he's safe for a year, I guess.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, that you guys got to think about that.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like when you have to wrap your head around Jared verse, you have to wrap around what he is.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_03]: And again, it gets back to this he's at two time.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_03]: a pro bowler that won defensive rookie of the year that's on a rookie contract if they take the full the full scope of it that's a huge thing to get and we've already said it once maybe twice on this people don't trade those people straight up.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_08]: Caleb in the chat yes we do have versus fifth year option he'll be eligible for his second contract extension at the end of this season 2026 so I would imagine next off season.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_08]: and be as long as everything goes well this year like we're expecting it to for him on the team.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_08]: He's going to be the next one up for a big contract extension and there'll be a pivotal piece of this Browns defense moving forward.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_08]: You guys are going to love it.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_08]: You guys are going to love Jared verse.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_05]: And again, I know Miles Garrett's a unicorn or freak athlete.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_05]: How many, how many 31, 32, 33-year-old adressors are there playing in the NFL?
- 57:46[SPEAKER_05]: At least that are playing at a super, super high level.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_05]: Now it, like,
- 57:51[SPEAKER_05]: There's not that many like it's not a position and everybody wants to say like he's not like he's not normal He'll play it up.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_05]: I saw come in here.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_05]: He's gonna be elite for seven more years.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_05]: No, he's not eyes I don't do you guys remember Khalil Mac Khalil Mac was like miles I mean, he had a stretch where he he was mild Dominic gave him yes, and then just one year
- 58:14[SPEAKER_05]: It's like he wasn't there.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_05]: He was just like a solid player, Ish.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_05]: And now like, where is Cleo Mack?
- 58:20[SPEAKER_05]: And it has happened like that.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_05]: You know, that's the way it works when you get on the other side of 30 in the NFL.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_05]: And he plays the position, he's looking at all the injuries he's dealt with.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_05]: And all the doubles and triple teams he's put up with in his career and Cleveland.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_05]: You have no idea what time he's gonna do.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_05]: to his body.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_05]: How he's going to break down.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_05]: You got to be great this year and be on the downsides the very next year.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_05]: You have no idea.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I mentioned the guys that I mentioned guys that they are unicorns too.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_03]: I mentioned earlier mentioned Reggie White, Julius Peppers, JJ.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_03]: Why?
- 58:54[SPEAKER_03]: Like those guys play into their mid 30s.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_03]: We got we removed miles an awesome player that's 30 years old and if you're saying he's the next Bruce Smith that it could be, you know, and he played until he was 40 and but it's it's not likely based on stats.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_03]: But could miles be that guy, maybe, but ultimately you invested the number one pick over all in 2017.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_03]: And we got awesome years out of him and we got back an awesome player that you don't typically get in Jaredverse could be possibly worth two first rounders, a first round, a second round, and a third round.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_03]: And that's getting it back.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_03]: And I get it.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's a Hall of Famer, he's a unicorn.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_03]: I get all that, but he wasn't going to win a Super Bowl here, based on where we're at right now.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_03]: And they're doing a masala, get him out here.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_03]: And we cleared up some cap space.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_08]: Well, in the biggest thing, I just want to remind everybody out there who's still griping in the chat in your upset, I get it.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_08]: I totally get it.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_08]: But you're forgetting the biggest part of this, which I already talked about.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_08]: He didn't want to be here.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_08]: He was going to, we had, like, he was holding us to a point where it's like we're going to have to get rid of this guy.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, I see in here, Devon says, verse, better have 12 plus sacks this year, and another person said, uh, I want 14, and then this person said the stack stat obviously doesn't win games.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_05]: First, just needs to do his job.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_05]: He's a great red defender and pressure, sacks me damn.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_05]: I'd like to see wins.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_05]: Miles Garrett had 23 sacks this year.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_05]: We barely won five games.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_05]: We got lucky to win five games.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_05]: set.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_05]: Sacks are a cool stat and they get you paid.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_05]: They don't that's not the only thing that wins games.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_05]: The defense I think is still going to be a very very good defense if we can score points.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_05]: It turns out we got a score points.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_05]: That's what's going to be the difference for the Browns where they can be good or not.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_03]: I do not want to see 16.8 points this year.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_05]: I need to see some touchdowns, boys and girls, touchdowns before we wrap it up one last point.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_05]: I saw, like, speaking on that, Miles Garrett's record in Cleveland is like 40 games under 500.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_05]: So, like, I, again, I understand it sucks to lose Miles Garrett, but it's not, people are acting like, oh my god, we give up Miles Garrett.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_05]: We were super real contenders and now we're not, no, we're coming off back to back terrible seasons.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_05]: We've been off on three out of the last four years.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_05]: He's been in Cleveland.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_05]: The other reason we were even good the one years because Joe Flacco came in and started checking around for 300 yards.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_05]: Notice, Joe Flacco to get the offense scoring 30 points again for us to win games.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_05]: for him to have a playoff season in one time in the last four years.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_05]: Like, so it's, he's 40 games under 500, basically.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_05]: And it's career for the, for the Browns.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_05]: I love them, but it just, it's, those aren't, I don't care about how many sacks you got.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_05]: We never won.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_08]: No, I mean, as a fan emotionally, this hurts, this sucks.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_08]: But realistically, logically, makes sense again, like I said, I've been prepared for them to trade miles carried ever since they moved that bonus date.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_08]: So as that happened, I was like, oh, yeah, this is coming.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_08]: Everybody hated it, ditched at me for saying that, whatever, I was prepared for it.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_08]: We could do have one last, can I get Caleb's voice milk?
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_08]: What?
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_06]: So the miles, Garrett News just came in.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely tragic, losing miles.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_06]: But honestly, it couldn't be better for the team, and I'm kind of excited for this next season.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_06]: It could add some depth through a team, which we're about the worst in the league at depth.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_06]: But we also have K.C.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_06]: in Boston, who could be great.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_06]: A bolstered O-line, which will hopefully improve quarterback play and help quench on out a little bit.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_06]: We got some young studs going into their second season like Quinshan, but we also have Mason Graham and Dylan Samson and Swesinger.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_06]: Plus, we have some great defensive pickups in this off season, I thought, well, we have McNeil worn in the draft and then Quincy Williams and free agency plus now Jaredverse.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_06]: I think all of this plus the extra twenty-seven first, we could use to square way to be, if shudder and watts and don't work out, and still be able to get a potential lead wide receiver with the other first as well.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I think the Browns could have something brilliant here, and it could be great.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_06]: However, at the end of the day, it is the Cleveland Browns, and we're probably going to mess it up, which is what really scares me about this.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_08]: Gaila viewers so positive throughout whole thing.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_05]: I don't even want to feel like me and Caleb would get along there.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like it sucks losing him, but it could be good, but it probably won't cause we're the browns.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like I felt every part of that.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we still got some great pieces on defense man.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_03]: We got Delpit.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_03]: We got our new safety.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_03]: Like he said, we still got Jared first back on there, Mason Graham, Malik Collins, you know, Alex Wright has been doing okay.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_03]: You know, Quincy Williams is good.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_03]: Carson, Swesinger, guys.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_03]: Like there's some pieces there.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_03]: Would I like to see some more depth?
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_03]: there's some pieces that can be good and Root and Burke if he can work as magic can see those interceptions coming just in the OTAs right now and you can say hey it's the quarterbacks it's our defensive backs he's coaching them to get these interceptions what do you say the balls like air it's got to breathe it in yeah here's what I'm on my closing statement is if the brown defense is a little bit worse this year but if they're still a top
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_05]: 10 to 12 defense and the Brown's offense can average 24 points a game.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_05]: They will win a lot more games than they did with Miles Garth last year's.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah, that's fair and then I don't think capital on top of it.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think replacing Miles Garrett with Jared verse is gonna take the Browns defense from, you know, first of all they were front runners, but you know, a top five defense to a bottom five defense weren't just losing Miles Garrett.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_05]: We're not gonna go from top five to bottom five.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_05]: We still have a very good player in Jared verse coming back.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_05]: We still have good corners.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_05]: We still have defensive rookie the year in Carson's rushing or they're players on this defense still.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_05]: So I don't think the falloff is going to be that insane.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know, that's my opinion.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a lot of them get through OTAs, a lot of them get through training our mini camp and let's see where the chips fall, man.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's still the beginning of the season, let them develop into something.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_03]: Like, they're still laying the foundation down.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_03]: Like, the defense is laying their terminology down.
- 1:05:52[SPEAKER_03]: The offense has got to get it going.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_03]: Like, we've got five new offensive linemen.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what they turn into.
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and I'd like like we've been saying here.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_08]: I mean if the if the deal had been miles Garrett for two first round picks or miles Garrett for a first and Jared verse.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_08]: I just said give me the Jared verse deal all freaking day long.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_08]: Give me the proving young stud.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_08]: who I know is going to be, and the thing, like you can send, he's ascending.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_08]: Like Jared Versh has other levels that he can reach in his NFL career.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_08]: He's nowhere close to his prime and he's already one of the best young Ed Russians in the league.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_08]: I'm happy with that.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_05]: Totally agree.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_05]: Well, let's wrap this thing up.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_05]: We appreciate you guys being here for this Some might call it a therapy session some people call it a copium session.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_05]: Just not so much hope.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_05]: Whatever it was I think I think the Browns are in a good spot for the future obviously sucks those in miles But I think they made a good move for for down the road And I'm excited to see how it pans out.
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_05]: So again, we appreciate you guys being here and I see you guys later this week
