- 1:40Speaker 1: and a few opinionated co hosts. Yes, she lets me
- 1:44Speaker 1: come on every now and then they are breaking down
- 1:47Speaker 1: every wild moment in the Karen Reid trial every weekday
- 1:52Speaker 1: that there is court at eight thirty am Eastern. Okay,
- 1:56Speaker 1: it is bonkers. Okay, our first case today, guy. I
- 2:03Speaker 1: mean I tell y' all this every week. These cases
- 2:06Speaker 1: just break my heart and that is why it is
- 2:09Speaker 1: so important that we continue sharing them. Okay. On August
- 2:13Speaker 1: twenty sixth nineteen ninety five, twenty three year old Heather
- 2:18Speaker 1: Danielle Teek vanish from Newbark Beach along the Ohio River
- 2:23Speaker 1: in Spotsville, Kentucky. Guys, it was a hot summer Saturday
- 2:28Speaker 1: and others set out to enjoy some sun near the
- 2:31Speaker 1: river bank. Now, around twelve forty five pm, a man
- 2:36Speaker 1: across the river in Indiana was using a telescope and
- 2:41Speaker 1: he witnessed something horrifying. He saw a man approach Heather,
- 2:46Speaker 1: grab her by the hair, and drag her into the
- 2:49Speaker 1: nearby woods a go at gunpoint. Guys' first question is
- 2:55Speaker 1: how can you be at a river in Kentucky and
- 3:00Speaker 1: across the rivers Indiana and somebody is watching on telescope.
- 3:05Speaker 1: To me, that means it's far enough a way that
- 3:08Speaker 1: they can't hear you scream. So if anybody in the
- 3:11Speaker 1: chat knows, because just think about being five miles away,
- 3:17Speaker 1: six miles away or whatever, and you're using a telescope
- 3:20Speaker 1: and you see this happen and you can't run and help.
- 3:26Speaker 1: That to me is horrible. Now, this eyewitness described the
- 3:32Speaker 1: suspect as a white male, six feet tall, about two
- 3:36Speaker 1: hundred and ten to two hundred and thirty pounds and
- 3:38Speaker 1: he had bushy brown hair, a thick beard, and he
- 3:42Speaker 1: was wearing only jeans. Now, this guy contacted authorities immediately,
- 3:49Speaker 1: Thank goodness, Now the Kentucky State Police. They responded quickly. Okay,
- 3:56Speaker 1: Heather's card was found parked on private land by the river.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Her towel, he lawn chair, and part of her bathing
- 4:05Speaker 1: suit were still at the scene. Now police launched an
- 4:09Speaker 1: extensive search with dogs, helicopters, and divers. Guys, Heather was
- 4:16Speaker 1: gone that fast. This case quickly gained regional attention due
- 4:23Speaker 1: to the shocking nature of the daytime abduction witnessed by
- 4:28Speaker 1: the sky. I mean. Shortly after the disappearance, authorities linked
- 4:33Speaker 1: a red and white Ford Bronco sparted and spotted near
- 4:37Speaker 1: the scene to a local man named Marvin Marty Dill
- 4:43Speaker 1: now Dial twenty nine lived nearby, and he fit the
- 4:47Speaker 1: composite sketch based on the eyewitness account. Now, six months
- 4:53Speaker 1: before the abduction, Dill had been pulled over during a
- 4:57Speaker 1: traffic stop where police found duct tape, rope, gloves, and
- 5:04Speaker 1: guns in his vehicle. Guys, that is a kidnapping kit. Okay,
- 5:11Speaker 1: that is a kidnapping kit. Now, his red Bronco matched
- 5:15Speaker 1: the description of the vehicle scene on a farmer surveillance
- 5:19Speaker 1: camera the day Heather disappeared. Now, when police claim to
- 5:25Speaker 1: question deal after the abduction, he sent his wife out
- 5:30Speaker 1: of the house, reportedly telling her the less you know,
- 5:35Speaker 1: the better. That is horrifying for her. Now, Bill died
- 5:43Speaker 1: by suicide with the shotgun inside his home. With him
- 5:49Speaker 1: went any and all answers to what he did to Heather. Now.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Inside the Bronco, investigators reportively found hair fibers similar to Heather's,
- 6:04Speaker 1: but this evidence has not been publicly confirmed. Now. Despite
- 6:10Speaker 1: naming Dial the primary suspect, police have not closed this case.
- 6:16Speaker 1: A grand jury was convened to investigate feather Gil's wife, however,
- 6:21Speaker 1: refused to testify, invoking her Fifth Amendment rights. Guys, I've
- 6:29Speaker 1: said this before. I get we have the right to
- 6:32Speaker 1: not incriminate ourselves. But I in the beginning of this
- 6:38Speaker 1: felt sorry for her because he was like, go out
- 6:41Speaker 1: of the house, the less you know, the better. The
- 6:43Speaker 1: fact that she took the Fifth Amendment tells me she
- 6:48Speaker 1: knows something. So how can she not be held for
- 6:53Speaker 1: tampering withholding evidence? I don't know. I'm not a legal person. Now,
- 6:58Speaker 1: authorities can tell you the investigation, but this trail grew cold. Okay.
- 7:06Speaker 1: A bootprint found near Heather's chair didn't match the witness
- 7:10Speaker 1: account of the suspects. Shoes, guys, it's a beach front.
- 7:15Speaker 1: There could be all I mean, she put her chair
- 7:19Speaker 1: on the beach. There could be a lot of boot
- 7:21Speaker 1: and footprints. Okay. Now, leeds have been pursued across multiple states,
- 7:28Speaker 1: but nothing has panned out. Okay, this case remained unsolved
- 7:35Speaker 1: for years. I mean, no arrest, no trials, no trace
- 7:39Speaker 1: of Heather. Now, in two thousand and four, a new
- 7:44Speaker 1: theory emerged. Ohio authority suggested that convicted murderer Christopher J. Below,
- 7:51Speaker 1: who's a native of Henderson, Kentucky, Kentucky, might be linked
- 7:56Speaker 1: to Heather's disappearance. Below has had murdered of women in
- 8:00Speaker 1: Ohio in nineteen ninety one and had a history of
- 8:04Speaker 1: violent behavior towards women, and detectives noted that Below abruptly
- 8:11Speaker 1: moved away from Kentucky shortly after Heather's abduction. Now he
- 8:17Speaker 1: matched the general type of suspect Heather's case involved because
- 8:22Speaker 1: young women's similar appearance had been taken suddenly. Now he
- 8:27Speaker 1: has been labeled a person of interest. He's never been
- 8:30Speaker 1: charged in Heather's case, and he remains incarcerated for the
- 8:36Speaker 1: Ohio murder. Now, Heather's mother, Sarah Tigue, never gave up.
- 8:42Speaker 1: She waved a year long, years long battle of law enforcement,
- 8:47Speaker 1: seeking transparency, records, and renewed efforts. She filed open records
- 8:53Speaker 1: requests and lawsuits, criticizing investigators for narrowing too narrowly on
- 8:59Speaker 1: Martin deal in ignoring other possibilities. Now in two thousand
- 9:04Speaker 1: and seven, Heather was legally declared deceased to allow access
- 9:10Speaker 1: to FBI files. Okay, twenty thirteen, Sarah filed a civil
- 9:15Speaker 1: rights lawsuit accusing multiple agencies of failing to properly investigate
- 9:21Speaker 1: the case. The suit was dismissed, but it brought fresh
- 9:26Speaker 1: attention to the case. On anniversaries of Heather's disappearance, Sarah
- 9:32Speaker 1: continued to hold vigils, pushing for investigation and seeking the
- 9:37Speaker 1: truth about what happened to her daughter. Now in twenty
- 9:41Speaker 1: twenty four, nearly thirty years after Heather's disappearance, new developments emerged.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Sarah filed another federal lawsuit, this time seeking twenty nine
- 9:54Speaker 1: million dollars in damages, citing investigative failures by both both
- 10:00Speaker 1: the Kentucky State Police and the FBI. The legal pressure
- 10:05Speaker 1: helped trigger a review by a special prosecutor and a
- 10:09Speaker 1: new forensic examination. Now, evidence from the nineteen ninety five investigation,
- 10:16Speaker 1: including Heather's bathing suit bottom recovered near that site, was
- 10:21Speaker 1: sent to a Virginia lab for modern DNA testing. Advances
- 10:27Speaker 1: in forensic technologies such as touch DNA and geneological databases
- 10:34Speaker 1: have created new hope that previously unusable evidence may now
- 10:40Speaker 1: yield a DNA profile. Authorities confirmed early this year in
- 10:47Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, that testing was underway, though results have
- 10:51Speaker 1: not yet been made public. Heather Teak remains missing okay.
- 10:59Speaker 1: No one has ever been arrested in connection with their disappearance. Now.
- 11:03Speaker 1: While Marty Dial remains the main suspect in the eyes
- 11:07Speaker 1: of many investigators, others, including Heather's family, believe more suspects
- 11:13Speaker 1: should have been explored, especially Christopher Below. Now the case
- 11:20Speaker 1: remains open and the DNA results are pending, and a
- 11:24Speaker 1: special prosecutor is still reviewing evidence. The hope is that
- 11:29Speaker 1: new science will succeed where previous investigations did not, and
- 11:34Speaker 1: hopefully it will bring long awaited answers to Heather's family.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Heather's mother continues to speak out, reminding the public and
- 11:44Speaker 1: authorities that justice delayed is justice denied? Okay, that she
- 11:53Speaker 1: is still waiting. If you have any information, no matter
- 11:58Speaker 1: how small, your urge to contact Kentucky State Polease Post
- 12:04Speaker 1: sixteen at two seven zero eight two six three three
- 12:09Speaker 1: one two. It could be the keys to bringing Heather home.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Into Dyl's wife, I want to say, you can send
- 12:17Speaker 1: to us an anonymous email and we will share that information.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You can also submit anonymous tips to FBI dot gov. Okay,
- 12:29Speaker 1: please do the right thing. If you know where Heather's
- 12:32Speaker 1: body is, okay, call us missus dill Okay. Now, if
- 12:40Speaker 1: you know of or if you have a loved one
- 12:42Speaker 1: missing and you're interested in having their story featured on
- 12:47Speaker 1: an upcoming episode, or if the family members you want
- 12:51Speaker 1: to join us for a live interview, please contact Amy,
- 12:55Speaker 1: our assistant producer. You can email her at Amy at
- 12:59Speaker 1: tcd wtmedia dot com, or you can send us a
- 13:04Speaker 1: DM on our Facebook page. I actually had someone ask
- 13:08Speaker 1: what is a DM? That is a direct message? Some
- 13:11Speaker 1: people call it a private message, but it's a DM.
- 13:15Speaker 1: It's a direct message to us. Okay, Now, our second
- 13:20Speaker 1: case today is about Kimberly Rose Abercrombie. She was born
- 13:26Speaker 1: Kimberly Moore. She was twenty three years old, and she
- 13:30Speaker 1: was a mother and wife from Bracken County, Kentucky. She
- 13:34Speaker 1: vanished on June thirteenth, twenty thirteen. Now at the time,
- 13:39Speaker 1: her husband, Nick Abercrombie, was deployed overseas with the US
- 13:45Speaker 1: Army and she was living in Augusta, Kentucky with their
- 13:49Speaker 1: young son. Now, Kimberly had a history of substance abuse
- 13:54Speaker 1: and was facing legal issues related to drug charges. Guys,
- 14:00Speaker 1: I don't give a shit about that. Okay, she's missing,
- 14:06Speaker 1: but I just want to let you know she was
- 14:08Speaker 1: facing those issues. On the day she disappeared, Kimberly left
- 14:13Speaker 1: her home in Brooksville, Kentucky, stating she would return later.
- 14:18Speaker 1: She never returned that same day. Her read nineteen ninety
- 14:23Speaker 1: nine Pontiet Grand m was a found abandoned at a
- 14:27Speaker 1: park and ride lot in Johnsville along Kentucky Route nine. Guys.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Her personal belongings, including clothes and wallet, were inside the car,
- 14:40Speaker 1: but her keys were missing. Okay. She was reported missing
- 14:45Speaker 1: five days later on June eighteenth, twenty thirteen, by a friend. Now,
- 14:52Speaker 1: the Kentucky State Police initiated investigation that have found limited leads. Okay, Now,
- 15:02Speaker 1: Lady and Gray said she was a vulnerable person and
- 15:06Speaker 1: it's easier for something to happen to them. It doesn't
- 15:09Speaker 1: mean they are bad or deserved it. Lady and Gray,
- 15:14Speaker 1: one hundred percent. I say, maybe she wanted to get
- 15:20Speaker 1: away for herself by a couple hours. Maybe she wanted
- 15:23Speaker 1: some time alone. She's still something nefarious could happen, Okay. Now,
- 15:30Speaker 1: a hypodermic needle was discovered in her car, consistent with
- 15:35Speaker 1: her known drug abuse. Guys, that doesn't mean she doesn't
- 15:40Speaker 1: deserve to be found. It is an addiction. It is
- 15:45Speaker 1: something it's hard to combat, and it's hard to get
- 15:49Speaker 1: out of. Okay. In my opinion, they need more help
- 15:53Speaker 1: from us. They do not need us to judge them. Now,
- 15:57Speaker 1: there were no signs of a struggle. Her phone and
- 16:00Speaker 1: keys were missing. Now, Guys, her wallet was in the car,
- 16:04Speaker 1: So that makes me think she wasn't going buying more
- 16:07Speaker 1: drugs because she would need your wallet for that, in
- 16:10Speaker 1: my opinion. Now, her online presence, which had once been
- 16:15Speaker 1: vibrant and regular went completely silent after that day. Her
- 16:22Speaker 1: bake account, usage, social media nothing, Okay. Family members believe
- 16:28Speaker 1: she would not have voluntarily abandoned her son. Now, rumors
- 16:33Speaker 1: have circulated that she may have overdosed in Cincinnati and
- 16:37Speaker 1: that those present concealed her body to avoid legal consequences.
- 16:42Speaker 1: This theory remains unconfirmed. And I want to just say,
- 16:47Speaker 1: if someone overdoses, just drop them off outside a fire station,
- 16:54Speaker 1: a hospital, somewhere where they can be found by her car.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Don't dispose of their body. Okay, don't do it. Kimberly's
- 17:04Speaker 1: family has expressed frustration with the investigation, feeling that her
- 17:08Speaker 1: lifestyle may have influenced the level of urgency and the
- 17:12Speaker 1: search efforts. We see that happen a lot, guys, we do.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Her sister has been very vocal about the lack of
- 17:20Speaker 1: progress and the family's belief that foul play was involved.
- 17:25Speaker 1: They maintained that Kimberly would not have willingly left her
- 17:30Speaker 1: child and family behind. Guys, she had a substance abuse problem,
- 17:36Speaker 1: her husband is deployed, she is taking care of their child.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I have so much compassion and empathy for wives of
- 17:47Speaker 1: deployed military. It is one reason I said I could
- 17:52Speaker 1: never be married to someone in the military. It's not
- 17:56Speaker 1: something I mentally could handle. So I could see I
- 18:01Speaker 1: personally know some people who were wives of deployed military
- 18:07Speaker 1: personnel or still are, and they drink a lot. You
- 18:12Speaker 1: do whatever you have to do to get through it,
- 18:15Speaker 1: but it becomes an addiction and it can become a problem.
- 18:20Speaker 1: We need to search for them even more. This is
- 18:24Speaker 1: a wife whose husband is doing what he wants and
- 18:30Speaker 1: can for all of us. We should help them even
- 18:35Speaker 1: more my Attin my opinion, law enforcement should have jumped
- 18:41Speaker 1: double because of this, because there's also a child. As
- 18:46Speaker 1: of now, Kimberly Abercrombie remains missing and her case is
- 18:51Speaker 1: unsolved and is not getting the attention and help it deserves.
- 18:58Speaker 1: She is described as five feet sanctionce is tall, weighs
- 19:02Speaker 1: approximately one hundred and ten pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes.
- 19:07Speaker 1: She has several distinctive tattoos, including a full back fairy
- 19:12Speaker 1: Chinese lettering on her abdomen, a butterfly on her left
- 19:16Speaker 1: ankle and a till cervical canter ribbon on her left side,
- 19:21Speaker 1: and the name Zane Austen on her left foot. Anyone
- 19:26Speaker 1: with information about her disappearance is urged to contact the
- 19:31Speaker 1: Kentucky State Police at eight five nine four two eight
- 19:37Speaker 1: one two one two. Guys, if you are the people
- 19:41Speaker 1: rumored to have been with her when she overdosed, do
- 19:45Speaker 1: the right thing. You can anonymously reach out to the
- 19:50Speaker 1: FBI even if they're not investigating this case, and you
- 19:54Speaker 1: can do an anonymous tip, or you can message us
- 19:58Speaker 1: anonymously okay. Now, for ongoing updates and to support the
- 20:03Speaker 1: family's efforts, you can visit and join the Hope for
- 20:07Speaker 1: Kim Missing from Kentucky's Facebook page. Guys, even the smallest
