- 0:00Speaker 1: It's okay to have a bad day. It's not okay
- 0:02Speaker 1: to have a bad month. It's not okay to have
- 0:05Speaker 1: a bad six months. It's not okay to have a
- 0:07Speaker 1: bad year. So after, for me, it's three days. That's
- 0:10Speaker 1: my time limit. Set your own time limit, but make
- 0:13Speaker 1: sure that you have time to feel it, but then
- 0:16Speaker 1: set that time limit where it's like, all right, now
- 0:18Speaker 1: it's time to start picking myself up and moving forward.
- 0:21Speaker 1: And the way you do that is just start, you know,
- 0:23Speaker 1: looking to the future.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Don't try to get out of emotion. Stay in it.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Live with it. I love it.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Just recognize that you're having a biological experience. Nature has
- 0:32Speaker 2: hardwired your brain in a certain way, and not all
- 0:35Speaker 2: of those emotions are useful. The problem is people think
- 0:38Speaker 2: if they feel it, then they need to embody it
- 0:40Speaker 2: and they need to act it out.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I worried so much and paid so much attention to
- 0:46Speaker 3: things that were not important. Have faith. Never, never, not
- 0:50Speaker 3: for one second to give up faith because everything works
- 0:54Speaker 3: out exactly the way that it's supposed to.
- 0:58Speaker 1: When it comes to depression, anger, anxiety, suicide, you don't
- 1:02Speaker 1: have to fight for yourself. I don't care what reason
- 1:06Speaker 1: it is you have worth fighting for. Whatever you find
- 1:09Speaker 1: worth fighting for, fight for it. Look outside of yourself.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It's not hard to do that. And when you do
- 1:15Speaker 1: and you look around the room, I guarantee you're going
- 1:17Speaker 1: to find things that in your life you have worth
- 1:19Speaker 1: fighting for and fight for them.
- 1:22Speaker 2: If I feel angry, I'm like, should I be angry? Like,
- 1:26Speaker 2: is this going to be useful? And so I have
- 1:28Speaker 2: a rule in my life. I only do and believe
- 1:30Speaker 2: that which moves me towards my goals. Now, that doesn't
- 1:33Speaker 2: mean that I don't have a relationship with reality. I
- 1:36Speaker 2: do because the only things that are going to move
- 1:37Speaker 2: you towards your goals are things that are both true
- 1:40Speaker 2: and optimistic. If it's not true, then you won't make
- 1:42Speaker 2: progress because the definition of true is the thing that
- 1:46Speaker 2: allows you to better predict the future. And so to
- 1:49Speaker 2: make progress towards your goals, you need something that's true,
- 1:51Speaker 2: but you also need it to be optimistic.
- 1:53Speaker 4: You have a right to what you're feeling, but just
- 1:56Speaker 4: because you feel it doesn't mean it's real. Feelings are
- 2:00Speaker 4: not facts. And I would try to get myself to
- 2:02Speaker 4: question those negative thoughts and really try and understand that
- 2:07Speaker 4: just because you feel a certain way, just because you
- 2:10Speaker 4: feel people are staring at you, just because you feel
- 2:12Speaker 4: less than doesn't mean you have to invest in that thought.
- 2:17Speaker 4: If we all invested in every thought we had, we'd
- 2:19Speaker 4: probably be crazy. You know, we get some negative random
- 2:23Speaker 4: thoughts that come across our mind sometimes. And my job
- 2:26Speaker 4: is to not let my mind take over. And that's
- 2:29Speaker 4: when I win and when I lose and everything in between.
- 2:32Speaker 4: You have a choice between what you think and what
- 2:35Speaker 4: you do. And that choice is everything.
- 2:41Speaker 1: We're already unique. Every single one of us. And that
- 2:45Speaker 1: uniqueness is our time, our talents, the things that make
- 2:47Speaker 1: us special. And if you use those talents of yours
- 2:51Speaker 1: that make you special and give it to the world,
- 2:54Speaker 1: that's when your uniqueness makes this world a better place.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And that is the whole purpose of everybody is to
- 3:00Speaker 1: use our talents and make this world a better place.
- 3:03Speaker 1: If we're all doctors, this world would suck. We're all
- 3:05Speaker 1: rock stars, this world, we'd have great music, but everything
- 3:08Speaker 1: else would suck. And that's why we all have different
- 3:11Speaker 1: talents and abilities. We need people to be garbage men.
- 3:14Speaker 1: We need people to be plumbers. We need people to
- 3:16Speaker 1: build homes. We need people to be influencers. We need doctors.
- 3:19Speaker 1: We need lawyers. We need all these things. And using
- 3:22Speaker 1: your talents on who you are. will make this world
- 3:25Speaker 1: a better place.
- 3:26Speaker 4: The concept of you got to be born with it
- 3:30Speaker 4: isn't real. I believe everyone is born with the ability
- 3:34Speaker 4: to apply effort. I can't prove that. Some people might be...
- 3:39Speaker 4: I know I was not destined to be a basketball player.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Some people were born with that specific skill. But I
- 3:45Speaker 4: do believe that we can build potential by using effort
- 3:50Speaker 4: and making the choice to commit to something.
- 3:52Speaker 3: So.
- 3:53Speaker 4: I can't really prove that you're supposed to be something
- 3:56Speaker 4: like you should be something, but I can say that
- 3:58Speaker 4: with choice and effort, you can go really damn far.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What I found about change is this. You can't stop
- 4:05Speaker 1: change even if you try. Your life is all about change.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Every moment of every second of your life is changing.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And if you can't stop change, all you can do
- 4:17Speaker 1: is have a hand in its outcome. So why not
- 4:21Speaker 1: work with that change? Yes, your life may not be
- 4:24Speaker 1: completely pleasant right now. Not everything sucks, but you know what?
- 4:27Speaker 1: It's not also extremely horrible. Let's hold on to those
- 4:30Speaker 1: positive things. Let's see what we can do with them
- 4:33Speaker 1: and work with the change.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Our part of our very being, if we can understand
- 4:43Speaker 5: that you take what you have and you use what
- 4:46Speaker 5: you have and make the most of it, And that's
- 4:50Speaker 5: the kind of lesson that my.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Mother taught me.
- 4:53Speaker 5: She said, make, her statement was, well, just make do.
- 5:00Speaker 3: And it's been such.
- 5:02Speaker 5: A helpful thing.
- 5:03Speaker 2: You take what you have and you make do.
- 5:06Speaker 6: Everyone's looking for a secret, for a shortcut. There are
- 5:08Speaker 6: no secrets.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 6: Just wake up every day and you do the damn
- 5:14Speaker 6: work and it's going to suck. You're not going to
- 5:18Speaker 6: like it some days, but when you can learn to
- 5:23Speaker 6: love the feeling of doing the work as much as
- 5:26Speaker 6: you hate doing the work, you're You know what I mean?
- 5:30Speaker 6: If you can learn to love that feeling of accomplishment
- 5:33Speaker 6: after doing the work as much as sometimes you hate
- 5:35Speaker 6: doing the work. If you can connect those, that allows
- 5:37Speaker 6: you to do the work. I tell my 12-year-old all
- 5:42Speaker 6: the time, I said, just start. Just start.
- 5:49Speaker 7: My understanding that if I don't show up, then somebody
- 5:53Speaker 7: online is not going to hear me and they're going
- 5:55Speaker 7: to get sent down a dark path. My understanding that
- 5:58Speaker 7: if I miss, then my wife doesn't eat. My future
- 6:02Speaker 7: child experiences what I experienced as a kid, which will
- 6:07Speaker 7: never happen.
- 6:08Speaker 3: There's no way.
- 6:09Speaker 7: I would die before I let that happen. Like I
- 6:12Speaker 7: just look at if I miss, then all the things,
- 6:16Speaker 7: all the people around me relying on me are now
- 6:18Speaker 7: going to experience something that I refuse to allow them
- 6:23Speaker 7: to experience. That's a lot of pressure. But I put
- 6:27Speaker 7: it on me for a reason. It's pressure built on diamonds.
- 6:31Speaker 6: Work harder. You know, even when it feels like the
- 6:39Speaker 6: work isn't mattering, it will matter. You know, delayed does
- 6:48Speaker 6: not mean denied. I know, young man, that you want
- 6:54Speaker 6: things done. keep putting the work in it's all about
- 7:01Speaker 6: the work have faith and trust that the seeds that
- 7:05Speaker 6: you plant today will grow into the tree that you
- 7:10Speaker 6: want it to be Thank you for watching.
