- 0:00Speaker 1: Guess who?
- 0:02Speaker 2: It's 10 o'clock.
- 0:02Speaker 3: Do you care where your parents are?
- 0:04Speaker 2: This episode is rated M for Misty. Yes, that's right,
- 0:08Speaker 2: this is a Misty episode, so it will be laced
- 0:10Speaker 2: with profanity even more than usual. If you're not comfortable
- 0:13Speaker 2: with this level of profanity, perhaps this isn't the episode
- 0:16Speaker 2: for you. But we have many other episodes to choose
- 0:18Speaker 2: from that do not feature Misty and will probably be
- 0:21Speaker 2: far less offensive. Okay, maybe. With that having been said,
- 0:25Speaker 2: on with the show.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Defense Corps forces reported just moments ago.
- 0:38Speaker 3: This is not a drill.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Repeat, this is not the drill.
- 0:41Speaker 5: At this time, we are requesting the immediate and orderly
- 0:46Speaker 5: evacuation of the vicinity.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The Coast Guard and the Navy have been alerted and
- 0:51Speaker 1: are standing by on the eastern sea.
- 0:53Speaker 6: And it continues to burn out of control.
- 0:56Speaker 4: It has been regular.
- 0:57Speaker 7: Every five to ten minutes, there has been another convoy
- 0:59Speaker 7: of units, fire companies, paramedics.
- 1:03Speaker 2: A citywide emergency has been declared.
- 1:05Speaker 8: Police officers are still on tactical full alert. 2,000 National
- 1:10Speaker 8: Guardsmen are standing by.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Air defense warning read.
- 1:14Speaker 9: We're doomed!
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's time for Movie Meltdown's Attack of the Killers soundtrack.
- 1:21Speaker 1: The live transmission has begun, and we're into the final
- 1:24Speaker 1: hour of hell.
- 1:25Speaker 9: The End.
- 1:45Speaker 10: What's up and welcome to Movie Mountdown's Attack of the
- 1:47Speaker 10: Killer soundtrack. I'm Brian.
- 1:49Speaker 9: I'm Misty.
- 1:50Speaker 7: And we are coming to you live in digital recording
- 1:52Speaker 7: from Fright Night Film Fest here in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 7: So I thought, because we're here amidst all the horror peoples,
- 2:00Speaker 7: I thought this was a good time to work in
- 2:02Speaker 7: another music episode.
- 2:04Speaker 10: And I really like the horror theme.
- 2:06Speaker 7: Again, we like all of our Halloween-themed stuff that go
- 2:08Speaker 7: on every year. But last year was the first time
- 2:11Speaker 7: we worked in a Halloween-horror-themed music episode. And I really
- 2:15Speaker 7: liked it, obviously, because I'm all about some horror bop. Anyway,
- 2:19Speaker 7: so if you can also tie it into movies, that's
- 2:22Speaker 7: always cool.
- 2:22Speaker 4: So.
- 2:23Speaker 7: I thought we would go with that today as a
- 2:25Speaker 7: horror-themed episode. And in particular, I thought of a very
- 2:30Speaker 7: specific subsection, because I started thinking of this. To me,
- 2:35Speaker 7: there's movies that, in a way, the soundtrack starts to
- 2:40Speaker 7: reflect what the movie's doing sometimes. So I was like,
- 2:43Speaker 7: sometimes they'll take a very traditional genre, like horror, and
- 2:46Speaker 7: then try to do something different with it, and at
- 2:48Speaker 7: the same time, in the soundtrack, sort of do that
- 2:51Speaker 7: same thing with a cover song. So I thought you
- 2:54Speaker 7: like cover songs.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I do.
- 2:56Speaker 7: So I thought this time we would do cover songs
- 2:59Speaker 7: that are in horror movies. And in particular, I found
- 3:02Speaker 7: a few that immediately.
- 3:04Speaker 10: Came to me.
- 3:05Speaker 7: So my specific example, the one that sort of inspired
- 3:08Speaker 7: this whole show, was Scream. Because Scream, to me, was
- 3:13Speaker 7: taking a very conventional and worn out at that time
- 3:16Speaker 7: genre and totally... throwing it out the window and be
- 3:21Speaker 7: like no we're going to do things like this and
- 3:22Speaker 7: it redefined that and changed things now granted you had
- 3:26Speaker 7: a lot of copycats that sucked for 10 or 15
- 3:28Speaker 7: years after that but it like it totally redefined and
- 3:31Speaker 7: reinvigorated people on horror movies at that time and to
- 3:35Speaker 7: me the key one on the soundtrack that does that
- 3:37Speaker 7: same thing it's taking a very well known cover song
- 3:40Speaker 7: totally changing the rules Don't Fear the Reaper I love
- 3:45Speaker 7: that version of Don't Fear the Reaper it's Gus which
- 3:48Speaker 7: I don't know if I've heard anything else that Gus
- 3:50Speaker 7: has done, but that cover.
- 3:52Speaker 10: Song that they do is so awesome. And it does.
- 3:56Speaker 10: It sets the mood for that.
- 3:58Speaker 7: It's a very creepy, don't fear the reaper kind of message,
- 4:01Speaker 7: but it's not done in the super cowbell upbeat version.
- 4:05Speaker 10: That we know the original. It slows it down, and
- 4:08Speaker 10: it really totally changes the mood of the song. And
- 4:12Speaker 10: definitely that weird.
- 4:13Speaker 7: Scene that's going on when she's making out with the
- 4:16Speaker 7: Johnny Depp lookalike.
- 4:17Speaker 11: Oh, Skeet Ulrich?
- 4:18Speaker 3: Skeet.
- 4:19Speaker 10: You know, that Skeet character. Where is he at these days? Jericho-ing?
- 4:25Speaker 10: He's out there Jericho-ing.
- 4:26Speaker 5: We all go a little mad sometimes.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Our times have come.
- 4:55Speaker 12: Here, but now they're gone.
- 5:05Speaker 3: The seasons don't feel the.
- 5:08Speaker 9: Way they do. Go to the wind.
- 5:11Speaker 3: The sun or the rain.
- 5:17Speaker 12: Take my hand We'll be able to fly.
- 5:30Speaker 13: Baby, I'm your man.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Baby, I'm your.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Man La, la, la, la, la. Valentine is done.
- 6:18Speaker 8: They've come Romeo and Juliet Are together in eternity.
- 6:33Speaker 14: Forty thousand men and women every day Another forty thousand every.
- 6:40Speaker 9: Day So come on baby.
- 6:48Speaker 13: Take my hand We'll be able to fly Cause baby,
- 6:57Speaker 13: I'm your man Baby, I'm your man Love I love love.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Romeo and Juliet Are together in eternity So come on
- 7:51Speaker 5: baby Take.
- 7:54Speaker 9: My hand.
- 7:59Speaker 3: We'll be able to fly.
- 8:02Speaker 9: Baby, I'm your man.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Baby, I'm your man.
- 8:09Speaker 9: I'm your man. I'm your man. Oh, oh.
- 9:10Speaker 15: There's always some stupid bullshit reason to kill your girlfriend.
- 9:13Speaker 10: Well, I was trying to think.
- 9:14Speaker 7: There was another one that almost immediately came to mind
- 9:18Speaker 7: after the Scream one, and it's because this movie and
- 9:22Speaker 7: series of movies, as it turned out, to me felt
- 9:24Speaker 7: like a direct response to Scream being popular, and it
- 9:27Speaker 7: kind of kicked off that series of copycat-type movies that
- 9:31Speaker 7: I was talking about before.
- 9:32Speaker 10: I know what you did last summer.
- 9:34Speaker 11: I love those movies. I love the first one.
- 9:37Speaker 10: It's cheesy.
- 9:38Speaker 7: I think we can all agree it's not the finest
- 9:40Speaker 7: film ever made, but it's certainly entertaining.
- 9:43Speaker 11: It's not as good as the book. I'm not even
- 9:44Speaker 11: going to lie.
- 9:45Speaker 10: But what's funny is I think the.
- 9:46Speaker 11: I'm that person.
- 9:48Speaker 9: Oh, Lord.
- 9:49Speaker 10: That's why I'm ignoring it. I don't even want to
- 9:50Speaker 10: do that book nonsense.
- 9:51Speaker 7: So the one that I thought was the perfect example
- 9:54Speaker 7: of that, and I couldn't even remember if it was
- 9:56Speaker 7: officially in the movie like part of the soundtrack, because
- 9:58Speaker 7: I always gave it credit for having one of the
- 10:01Speaker 7: best trailers. Like that trailer for I Know What You
- 10:04Speaker 7: Did Last Summer is so cool, and it so heavily
- 10:07Speaker 7: features that.
- 10:08Speaker 10: Version of Hush.
- 10:10Speaker 11: It's a rowdy-ass song.
- 10:11Speaker 10: Yeah, it's such a cool version.
- 10:13Speaker 11: I wonder if the reboot will have it in there.
- 10:15Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 10:15Speaker 7: It worried me that they were trying to reboot that already, but...
- 10:18Speaker 7: It's okay, even the other day, Love said it was
- 10:22Speaker 7: okay that they were doing it.
- 10:23Speaker 11: Oh, it's got Love's blessing, then we're all set in life.
- 10:26Speaker 7: On a side note, I will have to say, Love
- 10:27Speaker 7: was on some daytime talk show the other day pushing
- 10:29Speaker 7: her new I'm an FBI agent, take me seriously role.
- 10:32Speaker 11: Good luck with that.
- 10:34Speaker 10: And I'll have to give her credit. She looks pretty
- 10:37Speaker 10: damn good.
- 10:38Speaker 7: Because then she brought up the fact that it's been
- 10:40Speaker 7: 20 years since that movie came out. So I'm like,
- 10:43Speaker 7: that makes her pushing 40.
- 10:45Speaker 10: She looks pretty damn good for a.
- 10:46Speaker 7: 40-year-old woman, so. And she doesn't look like she's doctored
- 10:49Speaker 7: the hell out of herself. So thanks for not doing that, love.
- 10:53Speaker 11: Fucking A.
- 10:54Speaker 10: But anyway, that.
- 10:56Speaker 11: She hasn't Rose McGowan-ed her face yet, is what you're saying.
- 10:58Speaker 10: Please, learn a lesson from so many other starlets.
- 11:01Speaker 4: And men.
- 11:02Speaker 10: Dude. There's a lot of dudes doing it, too.
- 11:04Speaker 11: Mickey Rourke, I'm talking to you, buddy.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 11:07Speaker 6: Kenny Rogers.
- 11:09Speaker 10: Please stop. There's the horror of this episode.
- 11:11Speaker 11: Knock that shit off.
- 11:12Speaker 10: Facial surgery.
- 11:13Speaker 9: Ah!
- 11:14Speaker 10: But yeah, either way, I was going to work it
- 11:15Speaker 10: in just for the trailer alone.
- 11:17Speaker 7: Because I still think, again, even if you don't like
- 11:19Speaker 7: that movie, the trailer is so effective the way that
- 11:21Speaker 7: it cuts the horror and the kills and everything in
- 11:24Speaker 7: there and times it perfectly with that song. I think
- 11:27Speaker 7: it's a great use of that specific song with that movie.
- 11:30Speaker 10: And put together a good trailer, which they're hard to
- 11:33Speaker 10: come by these days.
- 11:33Speaker 3: So the boy and girl are making out, right?
- 11:36Speaker 1: When they hear over the radio that this lunatic killer's
- 11:38Speaker 1: escaped from an insane asylum.
- 11:40Speaker 10: That's not the way it goes.
- 11:42Speaker 7: The boy goes for help, and the girl stays in
- 11:44Speaker 7: the car, and she hears this, like, scratching sound.
- 11:47Speaker 3: No, he's been decapitated.
- 11:49Speaker 16: No, he was gutted.
- 11:54Speaker 9: With a hook. Oh, my God.
- 12:00Speaker 3: I think he's dead.
- 12:02Speaker 6: We can't just leave him here.
- 12:03Speaker 11: Oh, tell me, little Miss Prelaw, what's the charge for
- 12:05Speaker 11: mad slaughter?
- 12:07Speaker 3: We make a pact.
- 12:08Speaker 10: Right here and now, we take the sorry grave.
- 12:13Speaker 2: For the last year, four friends have kept a secret.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Are you on drugs?
- 12:18Speaker 1: No.
- 12:18Speaker 11: Well, then what is wrong?
- 12:20Speaker 9: I've had a rough year.
- 12:21Speaker 3: But not all secrets stay buried.
- 12:25Speaker 10: Somebody sent this to me.
- 12:26Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 12:27Speaker 17: Someone knows.
- 12:29Speaker 11: I know what you did last summer.
- 12:30Speaker 9: Ooh.
- 12:31Speaker 2: What they thought would be a new beginning.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Toast to us.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Is becoming a dead end.
- 12:38Speaker 11: Somebody tried to kill you last night. We have to
- 12:39Speaker 11: go to the police.
- 12:40Speaker 3: If he wanted me dead, he could have done it.
- 12:42Speaker 2: And the mistake they made.
- 12:43Speaker 3: It was an accident. There was no accident.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It was murder.
- 12:46Speaker 10: What if he's still alive?
- 12:47Speaker 9: Hey!
- 12:48Speaker 12: What are you doing here?
- 12:49Speaker 2: Is coming back to haunt them.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. He's after me, too. I got a letter.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I got run over.
- 12:56Speaker 10: Helen gets her hair chopped off. Julie gets a body
- 12:59Speaker 10: in a trunk, and you get a letter? That's balanced.
- 13:02Speaker 11: She's waiting for us to unravel.
- 13:04Speaker 1: The wait is over.
- 13:06Speaker 9: What are you waiting for, huh? What are you waiting for? One, two, three, four.
- 13:43Speaker 14: Well, got to see the little girl she's on in
- 13:46Speaker 14: my mind.
- 13:46Speaker 10: Look out about her, she looks so fine.
- 13:48Speaker 3: She's the best girl that I ever had.
- 13:50Speaker 18: Except that she's coming and it feels so sad.
- 13:52Speaker 9: No, no, no.
- 14:12Speaker 14: You callin' my name now Hush, hush You're blowin' my
- 14:15Speaker 14: heart But I'm flippin' him now Hush, hush How far
- 14:19Speaker 14: I heard.
- 14:20Speaker 7: You call my name now Hush, hush.
- 14:23Speaker 18: You're blowin' my heart But I'm not the king now Down, down,
- 14:26Speaker 18: down Early in the mornin.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Down, down, down Late in the evenin' How.
- 14:30Speaker 14: Long Hush, I thought I heard you calling my name
- 14:54Speaker 14: now Hush, hush, you broke my heart but.
- 14:57Speaker 18: Now I'm not so deep now Hush, hush, I thought
- 15:00Speaker 18: I heard you call my name now Hush, hush, you
- 15:04Speaker 18: broke my heart but now I'm not so deep.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Now You're in the morning, you're late in the.
- 15:11Speaker 9: Evening Now I am.
- 15:56Speaker 10: So that was, and get this, do you know who
- 15:58Speaker 10: did that cover of Hush? No. Me neither. Nobody will,
- 16:01Speaker 10: I suppose, because it's Kula Shaker.
- 16:04Speaker 11: What?
- 16:05Speaker 7: How do you put that awesome song together and not
- 16:08Speaker 7: do something else or come up with a better band name?
- 16:11Speaker 10: Or maybe that's your personal name.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 16:13Speaker 10: But I was just like, you would think more would
- 16:15Speaker 10: come from them.
- 16:16Speaker 6: You would think.
- 16:17Speaker 10: But that was an interesting one because it's like a
- 16:20Speaker 10: cover several times over.
- 16:21Speaker 4: It's always awesome.
- 16:23Speaker 7: It was written by Joe South for a song by
- 16:26Speaker 7: Billy Joe Royal. And it was like in 1967, I
- 16:28Speaker 7: think he wrote that one. And it hit number 52
- 16:33Speaker 7: on the Billboard charts, but wasn't setting the world on fire.
- 16:37Speaker 7: And then the next year, 68, Deep Purple comes along.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Fucking A.
- 16:41Speaker 7: And their version of it actually goes to number four
- 16:44Speaker 7: on Billboard. So to me, it's like it's already a
- 16:46Speaker 7: cover of a cover by the time we know what
- 16:48Speaker 7: it is, because the version most people would ever even
- 16:50Speaker 7: recognize it is because of Deep Purple. But it's funny
- 16:52Speaker 7: that even that was a cover. So it's a cover
- 16:55Speaker 7: several times over.
- 16:57Speaker 10: But Kula Shaker.
- 16:59Speaker 9: Yep.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Who knows? Shadow knows.

- 17:51Speaker 17: show on Earth.
- 18:00Speaker 7: The last time at the drive-in, we were talking about
- 18:03Speaker 7: trying new Halloween-themed items. I, as of, like, a day ago,
- 18:09Speaker 7: got the pumpkin spice Oreos.
- 18:11Speaker 11: How were they?
- 18:12Speaker 10: Holy shit, they are good.
- 18:13Speaker 7: Like, and I'm usually not so on board for the, like,
- 18:16Speaker 7: vanilla-y type Oreos. Like, to me, if it's not going
- 18:20Speaker 7: to be chocolate, it usually doesn't work right. This is
- 18:23Speaker 7: the one time it, like, makes a big difference, and
- 18:26Speaker 7: it kind of works.
- 18:26Speaker 11: Did you ever try the caramel apple ones?
- 18:28Speaker 17: No.
- 18:28Speaker 10: Well, those worked.
- 18:29Speaker 11: Because I ate that shit.
- 18:30Speaker 10: That's right.
- 18:31Speaker 7: See, that's why I bought those because I wanted the
- 18:33Speaker 7: pumpkin spice ones and they are awesome. So, Nabisco, you know,
- 18:38Speaker 7: if you want us to plug them for you, I'm
- 18:39Speaker 7: sure we'll be thrilled to.
- 18:41Speaker 11: Just don't get the birthday cake ones because they're ass nasty.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Good to know.
- 18:45Speaker 11: They're disgusting. That's the only pack of Oreos that I've
- 18:48Speaker 11: ever in my entire life bought that got tossed away.
- 18:51Speaker 7: That is pretty bad.
- 18:52Speaker 11: I think I ate like two. And I'm like, I
- 18:55Speaker 11: can't do this. I just can't. It was a travesty.
- 19:00Speaker 11: oreos in the garbage it's.
- 19:02Speaker 7: A rough time people all right so i thought with
- 19:05Speaker 7: this um this one isn't necessarily specifically yours i know
- 19:09Speaker 7: you've got one you're gonna need to talk about but
- 19:11Speaker 7: this one i know you love the movie so i
- 19:12Speaker 7: thought we'll throw it out there what is it we've
- 19:14Speaker 7: definitely worked in the soundtrack somewhere in the past but
- 19:17Speaker 7: i thought we need to get in some lost boys
- 19:19Speaker 7: hell yeah we do and again if ever there's a
- 19:22Speaker 7: great cover to open up that movie and give you
- 19:25Speaker 7: just the perfect idea of What you're dealing with in
- 19:28Speaker 7: this little town and the weird characters.
- 19:30Speaker 10: People are strange.
- 19:32Speaker 7: Whether you like The Doors or not, that version by
- 19:34Speaker 7: Echo and the Bunnymen is pretty awesome.
- 19:36Speaker 3: People are strange when you're a stranger.
- 19:40Speaker 19: Faces look ugly when you're alone.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Women seem wicked when you're unwanted.
- 19:48Speaker 19: Streets are under when you're down When you're strange Faces
- 19:55Speaker 19: come out of the rain When you're strange No one
- 20:01Speaker 19: remembers your name when you're strange, when you're strange, when
- 20:08Speaker 19: you're strange. People are strange when you're a stranger.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Faces look ugly when you're alone.
- 20:21Speaker 19: Women seem wicked when you're unwanted.
- 20:25Speaker 9: The streets are uneven.
- 20:27Speaker 4: When you're down here.
- 20:44Speaker 19: When you're strange, faces come out of the rain. When
- 20:50Speaker 19: you're strange, no one remembers your name.
- 20:56Speaker 4: When you're strange.
- 20:58Speaker 3: When you're strange, you're strange.
- 21:03Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Thank you. Thank you.
- 22:34Speaker 19: When you're down, when you're strange Faces come out of
- 22:42Speaker 19: the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name
- 22:49Speaker 19: When you're.
- 22:50Speaker 6: Strange The doors are overrated.
- 23:10Speaker 11: I said it. I don't even care.
- 23:12Speaker 7: I've heard a lot of that. It's one of those
- 23:14Speaker 7: I got. I came on board like at that right
- 23:16Speaker 7: time when I was a dorky kid and I was
- 23:18Speaker 7: just like, dude, Jim Bortles, it's cool. And like, I
- 23:19Speaker 7: guess every teenager must fall for that at some point.
- 23:22Speaker 7: But I've heard so many people lately kind of talk
- 23:24Speaker 7: smack about him. And now like I'll listen to some
- 23:26Speaker 7: of those other non-hits. And be like, all right, I
- 23:30Speaker 7: can see. There's some weak ones on those B-side tracks.
- 23:34Speaker 10: I'm just like, what are they doing.
- 23:35Speaker 2: On those ones?
- 23:36Speaker 11: When I was in high school, I had a bunch
- 23:37Speaker 11: of The Doors records. So I listened to them over
- 23:40Speaker 11: and over, more than I probably should have. So yeah,
- 23:42Speaker 11: I'm like, hmm. A couple of their big hits, I
- 23:45Speaker 11: can kind of like, okay, this isn't horrible. And you
- 23:47Speaker 11: listen to all of it, and you're like, oh, sweet
- 23:49Speaker 11: baby Jesus, the lizard ramblings is just too much for me.
- 23:52Speaker 10: I kind of like the ramblings, actually.
- 23:53Speaker 7: I have that live album they did where it's just
- 23:55Speaker 7: him on stage doing some sort of fucking crazy-ass Jim
- 23:58Speaker 7: Morrison poetry. I kind of like him as a crazy person.
- 24:02Speaker 7: I think he was convincing as that. It wasn't putting
- 24:04Speaker 7: on an act. He really was a crazy person.
- 24:05Speaker 6: He was nutters.
- 24:07Speaker 1: This force, this thing that lived inside of him came
- 24:11Speaker 1: from a source too violent, too deadly for you to
- 24:15Speaker 1: imagine it grew inside him, contaminating his soul.
- 24:22Speaker 10: But yeah, I figured you'd be up for some Lost
- 24:23Speaker 10: Boy love.
- 24:24Speaker 11: Hell yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 10: At least the original movie.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Hell yeah.
- 24:26Speaker 11: I don't even want to acknowledge that the other ones exist,
- 24:30Speaker 11: because to me they don't, because they sucked ass. I
- 24:33Speaker 11: think I successfully watched the second one, maybe?
- 24:36Speaker 14: The Thirst?
- 24:37Speaker 11: I think so. That's the one that had Tom Savini
- 24:38Speaker 11: die horribly in the first five minutes.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 24:40Speaker 10: I haven't seen any of them.
- 24:42Speaker 11: The only really.
- 24:43Speaker 10: The only.
- 24:44Speaker 7: Take I have on them is yours and Jay's because
- 24:46Speaker 7: you've talked about them.
- 24:47Speaker 11: I don't even think Jay got through. I think Jay quit.
- 24:50Speaker 11: After like five minutes, he was like, fuck this mess
- 24:53Speaker 11: and left the room. I don't blame him because it
- 24:55Speaker 11: was horrible.
- 24:57Speaker 15: Oh, man.
- 24:58Speaker 10: Speaking of Jay, let's play one from one of his
- 25:00Speaker 10: favorite movies.
- 25:01Speaker 7: This is one I think I forgot it was even
- 25:04Speaker 7: a cover because I've listened to this soundtrack nonstop.
- 25:06Speaker 10: I've played something off of it in the past, but
- 25:08Speaker 10: not this one.
- 25:10Speaker 7: Dead Souls from the Crow soundtrack. is actually a cover
- 25:15Speaker 7: of Joy Division, which I'm sure Jay do because he's
- 25:17Speaker 7: hardcore Joy Division, if I remember. But yeah, I don't
- 25:19Speaker 7: think I listen to much Joy Division. So this is
- 25:21Speaker 7: the Nine Inch Nails version.
- 26:06Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 26:38Speaker 17: Someone take these dreams away That put me to a
- 26:44Speaker 17: birthday A jewel of personality That's strange or true reality.
- 27:22Speaker 14: Where figures from the past stand tall.
- 27:30Speaker 3: And mocking voices.
- 27:32Speaker 9: Ring the bell.
- 27:35Speaker 17: Imperialistic house of fear Conquisted doors who took.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Their share.
- 29:58Speaker 7: And that one's one that, like, to me, people will...
- 30:01Speaker 7: I mean, you watch it, it's sort of an action
- 30:04Speaker 7: movie at times. It's sort of a thriller or a
- 30:08Speaker 7: weird urban thriller. I don't know what you want to
- 30:10Speaker 7: call it. But, like, at its heart is definitely a
- 30:13Speaker 7: gothic horror movie.
- 30:14Speaker 4: So, yeah.
- 30:16Speaker 10: There's another one we're going.
- 30:16Speaker 7: To skate by here on genre. Now, this one, again,
- 30:21Speaker 7: goes sort of down the scream road on the song itself,
- 30:24Speaker 7: but not the movie.
- 30:26Speaker 10: The movie is Spun. Are you familiar with Spun?
- 30:30Speaker 11: I am completely unfamiliar with Spun.
- 30:31Speaker 10: Okay, we're going to be cheating, but that's because I
- 30:34Speaker 10: run the show. I can do whatever the hell I want. So,
- 30:36Speaker 10: I mean, really, I don't know if you would call
- 30:37Speaker 10: it horror.
- 30:38Speaker 7: But in a way, I'm like, yeah, if you consider
- 30:42Speaker 7: Requiem for a Dream, that kind of horror. It's certainly,
- 30:45Speaker 7: it's a comedy more or less, but it's such a
- 30:47Speaker 7: drug comedy that there's so many horrible things going on
- 30:50Speaker 7: related to drugs and a bunch of druggies that, like,
- 30:53Speaker 7: it definitely has some horrific elements in it. But I
- 30:57Speaker 7: thought the song itself sort of put it over the
- 31:00Speaker 7: edge to go ahead and throw it in the mix here.
- 31:01Speaker 7: Because in the middle of this comedy about druggies, they
- 31:05Speaker 7: play Number of the Beast, originally by Iron Maiden, but.
- 31:08Speaker 10: It's a swan cover.
- 31:10Speaker 7: Which, if you remember, that's the Billy Corrigan side project
- 31:13Speaker 7: that came about midway there that now everybody's totally forgotten about.
- 31:17Speaker 7: For good reason. Again, I like Billy Corrigan as a musician.
- 31:22Speaker 7: As a person, I might have different feelings.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 31:25Speaker 7: I've heard some weird stories about him. But he puts
- 31:27Speaker 7: together some good songs on occasion. But this is definitely
- 31:30Speaker 7: a different take on Number of the Beast.
- 31:49Speaker 3: I left alone My mind was blank I needed time
- 31:59Speaker 3: to think To.
- 32:01Speaker 20: Get the memories from my mind What did I see?
- 32:14Speaker 3: That what I saw.
- 32:16Speaker 9: That night was.
- 32:18Speaker 20: Really not just fancy. Just what I saw in my
- 32:27Speaker 20: own dreams were the reflections of my woman staring back
- 32:37Speaker 20: at me. Cause in my dreams It's always there The
- 32:48Speaker 20: evil face that twists my mind And brings.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Me to despair.
- 32:57Speaker 20: Six, six, six The number of the beast.
- 33:05Speaker 3: In hell and fire.
- 33:09Speaker 20: The spawn to be released.
- 33:14Speaker 5: The torch is blazed. The sacred chants were praised.
- 33:39Speaker 20: And as they start to cry, their hands held to
- 33:44Speaker 20: the sky. In the night, fires burning bright. The ritual
- 33:57Speaker 20: has begun. Satan's work is done.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Six, six, six.
- 34:11Speaker 20: This sacrifice is going on tonight.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I'm coming back. I will return.
- 34:48Speaker 20: And I'll possess your body and I'll make you burn.
- 34:56Speaker 3: I have the fire. I have the force. Take its course.
- 35:43Speaker 2: You look ravishing.
- 35:46Speaker 10: It truly is beauty and the beast.
- 35:50Speaker 2: I might add a handsome beast at that.
- 35:51Speaker 10: Here's another one I thought you might like. Are you
- 35:53Speaker 10: not a fan of Lady in White?
- 35:55Speaker 11: I fucking love that movie. I can't get Boyfriend to
- 35:57Speaker 11: watch it with me, though. I think I'm afraid that
- 36:00Speaker 11: he thinks it's going to be a total kid movie.
- 36:02Speaker 11: I'm like, dude, it's got dead kids in it.
- 36:04Speaker 6: Creepy.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I know, right?
- 36:06Speaker 10: Well, in that, they play Did You Ever Say Dream Walking?
- 36:10Speaker 7: By Bing Crosby. Which you would think, being that old,
- 36:13Speaker 7: that would be the original version. But it's actually not.
- 36:16Speaker 10: It's a cover that he did that was originally done
- 36:18Speaker 10: by Art Jarrett.
- 36:20Speaker 11: God, I love that movie. I want to watch that
- 36:21Speaker 11: movie tonight. I love that movie.
- 36:23Speaker 10: I figured you'd be on board for that one.
- 36:25Speaker 11: It's one of the ones that I watched over and over.
- 36:27Speaker 11: There's probably like five movies that I watched over and
- 36:30Speaker 11: over and over again as a kid. Lady in White,
- 36:34Speaker 11: Watcher in the Woods, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mr.
- 36:38Speaker 6: Boogity.
- 36:40Speaker 11: And the bride of Mr.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Boogity.
- 36:42Speaker 10: This pieces together why you are the way you are.
- 36:44Speaker 10: I watch those movies. And notice four out of five
- 36:46Speaker 10: are horror movies, more or less. I don't know.
- 36:49Speaker 11: There's some shit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
- 36:50Speaker 10: That can be pretty fucking scary.
- 36:52Speaker 11: Oh, it's horrifying. You know, when they're fucking squishing the
- 36:54Speaker 11: judge at the end.
- 36:55Speaker 10: Doom is pretty scary. Hold on.
- 36:58Speaker 11: Here comes Sam. Let's see if I can get a
- 36:59Speaker 11: picture with Sam.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Hold on. All right.
- 37:00Speaker 10: Go for it.
- 37:14Speaker 16: This is PJ Souls, and you are totally listening to
- 37:17Speaker 16: Movie Meltdown.
- 37:30Speaker 11: I just got my picture taken with Sam.
- 37:31Speaker 6: Super excited.
- 37:33Speaker 10: This is Sam from Trick or Treat, by the way.
- 37:35Speaker 11: It's my third different Sam that I have a picture with.
- 37:38Speaker 10: There's no Andy, but whatever.
- 37:39Speaker 11: Andy was super adorable.
- 37:41Speaker 7: But no, Doom is a scary dude. You can't mess
- 37:43Speaker 7: with him. Those scenes are horrifying. I'm still kind of
- 37:45Speaker 7: traumatized by the testing out.
- 37:47Speaker 10: The dip scene.
- 37:48Speaker 6: With the shoe? That still.
- 37:50Speaker 10: I remember as a kid watching that just being like,
- 37:53Speaker 10: oh my God. I'm like, that's traumatizing.
- 37:57Speaker 11: It is. It is fucking terrifying. Because it's just like
- 37:59Speaker 11: in this movie where all the cartoons are sentient beings.
- 38:03Speaker 11: And it's like, this poor little shoe is dying a
- 38:05Speaker 11: horrible death.
- 38:06Speaker 10: And we're watching it. It's a little disturbing.
- 38:09Speaker 11: But yes, I'm telling you, Lady in White, one of
- 38:11Speaker 11: my favorites. Watched it over and over again.
- 38:14Speaker 7: Well, I have to now stop and try to convince
- 38:16Speaker 7: myself of which one is which.
- 38:18Speaker 10: So Lady in White, Woman in Black. I think I've
- 38:22Speaker 10: got them right. All right.
- 38:23Speaker 11: Lady in White is the one that has Lucas Haas
- 38:25Speaker 11: on it.
- 38:25Speaker 10: Lucas Haas, not Harry Potter.
- 38:27Speaker 11: No, not Harry Potter.
- 38:28Speaker 10: Sorry, Daniel.
- 38:30Speaker 11: But it's, yeah, it's where he gets locked in a closet,
- 38:32Speaker 11: the school closet or whatever, and he sees the ghost
- 38:35Speaker 11: of the little girl, and it's kind of fucking creepy,
- 38:37Speaker 11: you know?
- 38:38Speaker 2: That it is.
- 38:39Speaker 11: I love that damn movie.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Something very strange and mystic happened to me Something realistic
- 38:53Speaker 4: and as weird as can be.
- 38:57Speaker 13: Something that I feared somehow is now endeared to me.
- 39:03Speaker 4: What a funny feeling, odd and yet so true.
- 39:09Speaker 14: Did a thing like this ever happen to you?
- 39:16Speaker 4: Did you ever see a dream walking? Well, I did.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Did you ever hear a dream talking?
- 39:28Speaker 2: Well, I did.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Did you ever have a dream thrill you with will
- 39:36Speaker 4: you be mine? Oh, it's so grand, and it's true,
- 39:44Speaker 4: true divine. Did you ever see a dream dancing? Well,
- 39:51Speaker 4: I did. Did you ever see a dream romancing?
- 39:58Speaker 6: Well, I did.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Did you ever see heaven right in your heart saying,
- 40:07Speaker 4: I love you, I do? Well, the dream that was
- 40:10Speaker 4: walking and the dream that was talking © BF-WATCH TV
- 40:13Speaker 4: 2021 Did you ever see a dream walking?
- 41:09Speaker 2: Well, I did.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Did you ever hear a dream talking?
- 41:16Speaker 15: Well, I did.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Did you ever have a dream that thrilled you with,
- 41:22Speaker 4: will you be mine? Oh, it's so grand and it's too,
- 41:30Speaker 4: too divine. Did you ever see a dream dancing?
- 41:35Speaker 9: Well, I did.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Did you ever see a dream romancing?
- 41:41Speaker 6: Well, I did.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Did you ever see heaven right in your eyes? Saying
- 41:49Speaker 4: I love you, I do. Well, the dream that was
- 41:52Speaker 4: walking and the dream that was talking and the heaven
- 41:55Speaker 4: in my arms was you.
- 41:57Speaker 10: Bing Crosby sort of has his own horror stories in
- 42:00Speaker 10: his personal life.
- 42:01Speaker 6: I'm sure he does.
- 42:02Speaker 10: Anyway, as a caring father that he was.
- 42:05Speaker 11: Watcher in the Woods has Betty Davis with her crazy
- 42:08Speaker 11: old lady eyes. I love that damn movie.
- 42:10Speaker 7: She's got crazy old lady Betty Davis eyes, but we're
- 42:13Speaker 7: not going to work that song in.
- 42:15Speaker 11: It's a shame there's no cover songs in that one
- 42:16Speaker 11: because I would love to talk about that movie. I
- 42:19Speaker 11: made my boyfriend watch that one and he surprisingly enough
- 42:20Speaker 11: liked it.
- 42:21Speaker 10: I'm sure we can come back around to it. It's
- 42:24Speaker 10: not like we shy away from horror movies.
- 42:26Speaker 6: It's my favorites.
- 42:27Speaker 11: What else?
- 42:28Speaker 10: Well, we were.
- 42:29Speaker 7: Talking earlier about our friend Rob Zombie. We were discussing
- 42:33Speaker 7: the Halloween remakes, and we were just kind of sitting
- 42:37Speaker 7: here watching Michael Myers people across the way here and
- 42:40Speaker 7: just reminiscing on whether or not I think we all
- 42:42Speaker 7: have issues with some of the stuff going on in
- 42:45Speaker 7: those remakes, but they have.
- 42:47Speaker 10: Their good points too.
- 42:48Speaker 7: But in trying to come up with a few that
- 42:51Speaker 7: I hadn't thought of, this one came up, which I
- 42:53Speaker 7: think I'd totally forgotten about.
- 42:56Speaker 10: And probably because.
- 42:57Speaker 7: I've never gone back to touch that movie, as much
- 43:00Speaker 7: as I love The Crow... The Crow 2 is the
- 43:03Speaker 7: scourge of humanity. Dude, fuck Vincent Perez. Yeah, City of
- 43:07Speaker 7: Angels I have not gone back to touch since the
- 43:09Speaker 7: first time I saw it and was horrified in the wrong.
- 43:12Speaker 10: Kind of way.
- 43:12Speaker 11: It had Iggy Pop in it, didn't it?
- 43:14Speaker 10: Yes, yeah, I believe it did. I don't know what
- 43:16Speaker 10: he was thinking either.
- 43:17Speaker 11: I forget who else it had in it. I fucking
- 43:19Speaker 11: hated that movie.
- 43:20Speaker 10: But it does have a Rob Zombie song in the
- 43:23Speaker 10: soundtrack doing a version of I'm Your Boogeyman originally done
- 43:27Speaker 10: by Casey and the Sunshine Band.
- 43:29Speaker 5: Oh!
- 43:40Speaker 9: You're gonna get you.
- 43:43Speaker 10: You're gonna get you.
- 43:44Speaker 5: You're gonna get you.
- 43:49Speaker 9: You're gonna get you. You're gonna get you. You're gonna
- 43:56Speaker 9: get you.
- 43:57Speaker 5: You're gonna get you. You're gonna get you. I'm the
- 44:39Speaker 5: Boogie Man, Boogie.
- 44:42Speaker 9: Man, I'm what I want. I'm the Boogie Man, oh,
- 44:46Speaker 9: that's what I am. I'm here to do, oh, whatever
- 44:50Speaker 9: I can.
- 44:50Speaker 5: Be it early morning, late afternoon, or at midnight.
- 44:56Speaker 9: I always never do too, too much, too much, too much.
- 46:02Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 47:47Speaker 11: I do love that song. I think I have the,
- 47:49Speaker 11: you know, I saw it on one of my CDs.
- 47:51Speaker 11: It's not connected to that movie at all. So it's
- 47:53Speaker 11: on like a separate Rob Zombie CD.
- 47:56Speaker 10: I thought that was an odd mixture of everything there.
- 48:00Speaker 11: But yet perfect for Rob Zombie, I think.
- 48:02Speaker 10: Yeah, exactly. Again, kind of that same thing.
- 48:06Speaker 7: They're taking something already pre-established as this thing over here.
- 48:09Speaker 7: and then finding a way to sort of redefine it
- 48:11Speaker 7: and make it work in the.
- 48:13Speaker 10: Movie that they're doing. Again, there's sort of a theme
- 48:16Speaker 10: that runs through these, and I don't know. I thought
- 48:19Speaker 10: it was interesting.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Want some music for your ears? Doo-Wop Shop makes it
- 48:23Speaker 2: easy to rent for any event, business meeting, or special occasion.
- 48:27Speaker 2: From PA systems to karaoke machines to just about anything
- 48:29Speaker 2: that makes noise, you can rent it from the Doo-Wop Shop.
- 48:32Speaker 2: In Louisville, find them either at their Highland store at
- 48:35Speaker 2: 1587 Bardstown Road or in the East End at 2915
- 48:39Speaker 2: South Hurstburn Parkway. And look for them online at DooWopShop.com.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Doo-Wop Shop. We're serious about music.
- 48:47Speaker 7: So this one is a more recent one. And it's
- 48:50Speaker 7: one that totally connected with me. First of all, it's
- 48:53Speaker 7: in a movie that I didn't think I was going
- 48:55Speaker 7: to like. I certainly did not think they even needed
- 48:58Speaker 7: to touch Fright Night originally when they started talking about it.
- 49:01Speaker 7: I was surprised how much I didn't hate the remake.
- 49:04Speaker 10: It's a different thing. It doesn't come near the original,
- 49:06Speaker 10: but it's an entertaining new version of sort of a
- 49:11Speaker 10: similar story.
- 49:12Speaker 11: I wasn't big on it. I don't like Colin Farrell.
- 49:14Speaker 11: I'm not like, apparently I'm more like the eight girls
- 49:16Speaker 11: in the entire universe who are not completely gaga over
- 49:18Speaker 11: fucking Colin Farrell.
- 49:20Speaker 7: But I feel like that version of Jerry Dandridge is
- 49:22Speaker 7: supposed to be a dick, so Colin Farrell is kind
- 49:24Speaker 7: of perfect casting because he seems like a dick.
- 49:27Speaker 10: In the real world.
- 49:29Speaker 11: I do adore what's-his-face, though. The main guy.
- 49:31Speaker 9: Jackoff?
- 49:32Speaker 10: Yes.
- 49:33Speaker 11: The Wessel.
- 49:36Speaker 10: Drive a steak through their heart with a Wessel.
- 49:39Speaker 11: It was funny because we went to Red Robin the
- 49:40Speaker 11: other day and I told them our last name was
- 49:42Speaker 11: Wesley and they said, Wessel? No Wessels!
- 49:47Speaker 10: Do you have any dilithium crystals here?
- 49:49Speaker 2: No.
- 49:50Speaker 10: Need to get this Wessel up and running.
- 49:53Speaker 11: But yeah, anyways, I was not a big fan of
- 49:54Speaker 11: the remake.
- 49:55Speaker 7: Okay with it i think there's a lot of really
- 49:57Speaker 7: cool stuff on there some of the cg and i
- 49:59Speaker 7: think that wasn't their fault they sort of threw that
- 50:01Speaker 7: in when it became that 3d nonsense as well so
- 50:04Speaker 7: some of those effects are not the best but again
- 50:07Speaker 7: i don't blame the story or the actors that.
- 50:10Speaker 11: Was imogene poots in that one i like saying.
- 50:12Speaker 10: Imogene poots imogene poots has come around let me tell
- 50:16Speaker 10: you imogene poots.
- 50:18Speaker 11: I just like saying her name poots.
- 50:20Speaker 10: Special we're very special.
- 50:24Speaker 7: But one of the things I really didn't see coming
- 50:26Speaker 7: was the song that kicks in at the end. And
- 50:29Speaker 7: I do like, again, it has a very comic book-y
- 50:31Speaker 7: feel as they get to the end credits because they'll
- 50:33Speaker 7: do this splatter effect on the screen. They'll do these
- 50:37Speaker 7: weird cut moving images taken straight out of the movie.
- 50:41Speaker 7: But it almost has a weird comic book feel. But
- 50:45Speaker 7: it's also paired up with, of all songs, 99 Problems,
- 50:50Speaker 7: but not by Jay-Z. It is done by Hugo.
- 50:53Speaker 4: If you're having girl problems, I feel bad for your son.
- 50:56Speaker 11: I got 99 problems.
- 50:58Speaker 9: And a bitch ain't one.
- 51:11Speaker 12: Tip my hat to the sun in the west Feel the.
- 51:15Speaker 4: Beat right in my chest At.
- 51:18Speaker 12: The crossroads a second time Make the devil change his
- 51:22Speaker 12: mind It's a pound of flesh, but it's really a
- 51:25Speaker 12: ton 99 problems and a bitch ain't one.
- 51:29Speaker 21: If you're having girl problems, I feel bad for your
- 51:31Speaker 21: son I got 99 problems and a bitch ain't one.
- 51:34Speaker 9: 99 Problems Like broken glass under my.
- 51:43Speaker 5: Feet I could lose my mind in the sea.
- 51:59Speaker 4: Looking for the prize but I don't want blood.
- 52:02Speaker 21: I don't want drinks and I drink the flood.
- 52:05Speaker 4: You can come inside but your friends can't come.
- 52:08Speaker 17: 99 problems and a bitch ain't one.
- 52:10Speaker 21: If you're having girl problems I feel bad for your son.
- 52:14Speaker 4: 99 problems and a bitch ain't one.
- 52:16Speaker 21: I got 99 problems. I'm a big fan of that song.
- 52:46Speaker 5: I posted it on Facebook years ago.
- 52:51Speaker 11: I'm smitten with that version i.
- 53:12Speaker 7: Love that and who would ever thought you'd pair up
- 53:14Speaker 7: jay-z with like banjo and like come out with something
- 53:17Speaker 7: that would kick ass but like that song really kind
- 53:21Speaker 7: of does.
- 53:21Speaker 10: And it's a it finds its own style of.
- 53:24Speaker 11: Doing does it really count because only like only like
- 53:26Speaker 11: the chorus is the same i don't think the rest
- 53:27Speaker 11: of the lyrics are the same.
- 53:29Speaker 7: As much as i remember it i don't know if
- 53:30Speaker 7: it goes into the full raps on the side but
- 53:33Speaker 7: i think the basic structure of it's the.
- 53:35Speaker 11: Same I don't remember. I've listened to the Hugo version
- 53:39Speaker 11: so much.
- 53:40Speaker 9: I know.
- 53:41Speaker 7: It's been so long since I've actually heard the Jay-Z
- 53:43Speaker 7: version now. I would always see, since it's gone on
- 53:47Speaker 7: to be on cable now, for the while when I
- 53:49Speaker 7: had cable, it would come on and I would catch
- 53:52Speaker 7: it at the last 15 minutes and I'd leave it
- 53:54Speaker 7: on because I knew that song was coming on.
- 53:56Speaker 10: That's the sign of a good song.
- 53:58Speaker 7: I would finish watching out this movie, where normally I
- 54:00Speaker 7: would just change it if it was almost over, but
- 54:02Speaker 7: I would leave it on specifically because to hear the
- 54:04Speaker 7: song come on in credits.
- 54:06Speaker 10: That says something about the song.
- 54:07Speaker 11: That song is rowdy. I like the Jay-Z version, too, though.
- 54:10Speaker 10: I think I'll... It's a good song. That's the thing.
- 54:12Speaker 10: I mean, you give Jay-Z credit.
- 54:14Speaker 11: For a cracker, I'm all about some Jay-Z.
- 54:16Speaker 10: Yeah, I know.
- 54:16Speaker 7: Not that nobody heaps some praise on Jay-Z as rap goes,
- 54:19Speaker 7: but he is pretty impressive, and he has found a
- 54:23Speaker 7: good way to sort of mesh traditional hip-hop sound with
- 54:27Speaker 7: the guitars that he works in, that original one, are
- 54:29Speaker 7: also very unconventional for him.
- 54:31Speaker 10: That style of music.
- 54:32Speaker 11: Because the original version, it was mixed together by Rick Rubin.
- 54:36Speaker 10: Yeah, I believe so.
- 54:38Speaker 11: Who does some amazing shit.
- 54:39Speaker 7: Who does a lot of weird crossover stuff. That's sort
- 54:42Speaker 7: of his thing, too. He likes mixing genres of music.
- 54:44Speaker 11: Because he did an Eminem song not that long ago
- 54:47Speaker 11: that I thought was fucking amazing. Usually I'm kind of
- 54:49Speaker 11: iffy on Eminem.
- 54:51Speaker 7: He's always been hit and miss.
- 54:53Speaker 11: I forget which song it was that he did with
- 54:54Speaker 11: Rick Rubin, but I was like, fucking hell.
- 54:57Speaker 10: Rick Rubin kind of knows what he's doing, too.
- 55:00Speaker 7: All right, so I've been building up to this one, Misty,
- 55:02Speaker 7: because I figured if I was bringing you in on
- 55:04Speaker 7: this episode, I mean, number one, you like covers anyway,
- 55:07Speaker 7: but on top of that, there was one in particular
- 55:09Speaker 7: you were going to have to talk about.
- 55:11Speaker 11: Okay, you want to let me peek at the list?
- 55:12Speaker 7: No, it's not for you. You know which one it is.
- 55:16Speaker 7: I mean, if there's one band and they do a
- 55:20Speaker 7: cover at the end of a horror movie.
- 55:22Speaker 11: Is it the one from Energy of the Vampire?
- 55:24Speaker 4: Yes.
- 55:25Speaker 11: Guns N' Roses and Symphony for the Devil?
- 55:28Speaker 6: I love that song.
- 55:30Speaker 11: It's the best part of the whole damn movie.
- 55:32Speaker 10: It kind of is. I need to revisit. It's been
- 55:34Speaker 10: a long time since I saw it. I was kind
- 55:38Speaker 10: of hitting this on it at the time. Anyway, I
- 55:40Speaker 10: have heard some interesting things since then, though. I was
- 55:43Speaker 10: listening to a.
- 55:43Speaker 7: Show and they were talking with this woman who had
- 55:46Speaker 7: just written a book on Tom Cruise. And they were talking,
- 55:49Speaker 7: like she was going on about how good he is
- 55:51Speaker 7: in the movie. Again, I feel like I need to
- 55:54Speaker 7: re-watch it because she was talking about how much Brad's
- 55:57Speaker 7: phoning it in.
- 55:57Speaker 10: Like Brad, like didn't really even read the book. Like,
- 56:01Speaker 10: he got it.
- 56:02Speaker 7: He's like, oh, I'm supposed to be this guy, whatever. And, like,
- 56:04Speaker 7: he didn't even finish reading the book. He's like, I
- 56:07Speaker 7: know what I'm going to do. Whereas Tom Cruise not
- 56:09Speaker 7: only went home and, like, you know, took the role,
- 56:12Speaker 7: immediately read that book, but read all of the other
- 56:15Speaker 7: Anne Rice novels at the time so that he understood
- 56:18Speaker 7: what Lestat's role was. Now it's like I kind of
- 56:22Speaker 7: want to go back and watch it knowing that like
- 56:24Speaker 7: he realizes he's not the villain. Like and they try
- 56:26Speaker 7: to within that story, they try to make him like
- 56:28Speaker 7: he's the bad guy. But like if you read the
- 56:30Speaker 7: rest of it, that's not really the case. He's just
- 56:33Speaker 7: a character and he's really not a bad guy as
- 56:36Speaker 7: you go into the other stories about him. This is
- 56:38Speaker 7: just the place that he's in and he deals with
- 56:40Speaker 7: being a vampire very differently.
- 56:42Speaker 10: Than certainly the whiny Brad Pitt character. So, yeah, I
- 56:46Speaker 10: don't know.
- 56:46Speaker 7: I kind of want to go back and rewatch it
- 56:47Speaker 7: because I feel like you need to watch it again.
- 56:49Speaker 7: It's been a long time, and I knew I had
- 56:52Speaker 7: issues with it even the first time I saw it.
- 56:53Speaker 7: But I kind of want to watch it and see
- 56:56Speaker 7: what Tom Cruise is doing. Because he doesn't half-ass stuff,
- 57:00Speaker 7: you know? It's like, whether you love him or hate him,
- 57:02Speaker 7: he goes all in.
- 57:03Speaker 10: When he takes these roles. And I kind of need
- 57:06Speaker 10: to look at his performance again.
- 57:09Speaker 11: I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise. As anybody
- 57:11Speaker 11: who would actually listen to the show regularly would know,
- 57:14Speaker 11: I just can't stand him. But I do remember... Not
- 57:17Speaker 11: hating him in an interview with a vampire. I know
- 57:20Speaker 11: when they first announced it, like, years ago, everybody was
- 57:23Speaker 11: fired the fuck up.
- 57:23Speaker 10: People lost their shit.
- 57:24Speaker 11: They, like, Heath Ledger, as the Joker level, lost their shit.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Yeah, really.
- 57:28Speaker 10: Which they were way off on that one, too.
- 57:31Speaker 11: But it's like, I mean, I remember liking it. It's
- 57:33Speaker 11: been at least ten years since I've sat and watched it,
- 57:35Speaker 11: you know. It has been fucking forever.
- 57:39Speaker 10: But if nothing else, that's the best thing to go out.
- 57:42Speaker 7: Again, that's how you know, like, they wrap up the
- 57:44Speaker 7: movie with that.
- 57:45Speaker 10: That's... Work in a little river there and then kick
- 57:49Speaker 10: the credits on them.
- 57:50Speaker 11: I'm all for any Guns N' Roses covers. I don't even...
- 57:52Speaker 11: I'm still... Live and Let Die. You know, I still...
- 57:55Speaker 11: Fuck Wings. Dude, fuck Wings.
- 57:58Speaker 10: Time went on to do that anyways.
- 58:00Speaker 6: Yeah, seriously.
- 58:01Speaker 11: Knocking on Heaven's Door. Fuck Bob Dylan. I said it.
- 58:04Speaker 6: Screw you guys.
- 58:05Speaker 11: I fucking hate Bob Dylan. What the fuck? Fucking sing. Enunciate.
- 58:09Speaker 4: Come on.
- 58:11Speaker 10: Like Axl.
- 58:12Speaker 11: Hey, I can understand what he's saying a good portion
- 58:14Speaker 11: of the time.
- 58:16Speaker 9: And one of the.
- 58:17Speaker 6: Voices that he uses.
- 58:18Speaker 10: He does have a few different levels of his voices.
- 58:21Speaker 4: He does.
- 58:21Speaker 11: There's like a multitude of Axl Rose's voices, and I
- 58:24Speaker 11: love them all.
- 58:25Speaker 10: There probably are voices in his head as well.
- 58:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:29Speaker 11: Sometimes I should stay in there. Some things even Axl
- 58:31Speaker 11: can't do. He should never rap.
- 58:34Speaker 6: My world.
- 58:34Speaker 10: I blocked it out.
- 58:36Speaker 6: It was awful.
- 58:37Speaker 10: He did a lot of weird crap. around that era.
- 58:41Speaker 11: They did a whole album of cover songs. It wasn't bad.
- 58:44Speaker 11: Everybody gave the Spaghetti Incident a whole bunch of shit.
- 58:46Speaker 7: It was kind of past. I've described it before. That
- 58:50Speaker 7: was the shark. I was like, Use Your Illusion is
- 58:52Speaker 7: the shark. It's the most epic and everything from there
- 58:56Speaker 7: is a downhill. You already see them going downhill on
- 58:59Speaker 7: half of the albums anyway.
- 59:01Speaker 10: That's the moment.
- 59:02Speaker 7: Everything past that point is just them trying to figure
- 59:05Speaker 7: out what to do to survive and not kill each other.
- 59:08Speaker 11: I've always said if you combine both the user illusion
- 59:10Speaker 11: albums you'll get at least one good album out of
- 59:12Speaker 11: it it's one.
- 59:12Speaker 7: Really good album but you have to weed through that
- 59:15Speaker 7: other crap.
- 59:16Speaker 11: Yeah you gotta get you gotta weed through my world
- 59:19Speaker 11: the ego crap a good portion of get in the
- 59:22Speaker 11: ring yup I like the first part of it shit
- 59:26Speaker 11: he's all mad.
- 59:26Speaker 7: Shit I mean, I like that song anyway. Like, that
- 59:29Speaker 7: song in its original form is badass.
- 59:32Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm not a big Rolling Stone fan.
- 59:34Speaker 2: But that's one of the best ones.
- 59:35Speaker 6: It is.
- 59:35Speaker 11: There's like three Rolling Stone songs that I'm like, okay,
- 59:38Speaker 11: I can understand why you all blast this fucking long.
- 59:42Speaker 11: If nothing else, for those fucking three songs.
- 59:44Speaker 10: Because they're badass when they need to be badass. Sympathy
- 59:47Speaker 10: for the Devil. All right, go ahead.
- 59:49Speaker 6: Paint it black.
- 59:50Speaker 10: That is one of my favorites of theirs.
- 59:53Speaker 11: What's the other one I like? What's another awesome song?
- 59:56Speaker 10: Wild Horses.
- 59:57Speaker 4: No. Angie?
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: No.
- 1:00:02Speaker 11: Maybe it's Beast of Burden. I like that song. Pizza burning.
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: That's not New Europe. It's not, but it's... It's no
- 1:00:10Speaker 10: Paint of Black. Paint of Black is one of the
- 1:00:12Speaker 10: best things ever. Right up there with Sympathy for the Devil.
- 1:00:15Speaker 11: I mean, I can just narrow it out to just
- 1:00:17Speaker 11: two songs. I'll just leave it at the two songs
- 1:00:19Speaker 11: and be done.
- 1:00:19Speaker 10: Nice. All right, so with all that, we will actually
- 1:00:22Speaker 10: go out with your big number, Misty. What's the name
- 1:00:25Speaker 10: of it?
- 1:00:25Speaker 11: Sympathy for the Devil.
- 1:00:26Speaker 10: By your favorite-est band.
- 1:00:27Speaker 6: Guns N' Roses.
- 1:00:29Speaker 11: Tried to beat the Crypt Keeper.
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: All right, so let's fire up the axle and we'll
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: get the hell out of here. With that, I will
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: remind you, Get Alive will provide the soundtrack.
- 1:00:38Speaker 10: Thanks for listening.
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: Bye.
- 1:00:41Speaker 17: Please allow me to introduce myself.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: I'm a man of wealth and taste.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: I've been around for a long, long year.
- 1:00:53Speaker 15: Stole many man's soul and faith. I was around when
- 1:01:01Speaker 15: Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain. Made
- 1:01:08Speaker 15: damn sure the pilot washed his hands and sealed his fate.
- 1:01:16Speaker 12: Ha ha ha ha!
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: Pleased to meet you.
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: Hope you guessed my name. Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:27Speaker 17: But what's puzzling you is the nature of my game.
- 1:01:33Speaker 9: I stuck around St.
- 1:01:38Speaker 15: Petersburg when I saw it was a time for change.
- 1:01:46Speaker 15: And his ministers at a station screamed in vain Oh,
- 1:01:54Speaker 15: Roe and Chang, hell, the generals rang When the blitzkrieg
- 1:01:59Speaker 15: rang and the bodies stank.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: Pleased to meet you, hope you.
- 1:02:08Speaker 9: Guess my name What's puzzling you is.
- 1:02:16Speaker 15: The nature of my gang I was with Lee as
- 1:02:23Speaker 15: your kings and queens Fought for ten decades for the
- 1:02:29Speaker 15: gods they made I shouted out, who killed the Kennedys?
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: The woman after all, it was you and me So let.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: Me please introduce myself. I'm a man.
- 1:02:46Speaker 9: Of wealth and days.
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: I lay trapped for criminals who get killed before.
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: They reach my face. Pleased to meet you.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Hope you get by.
- 1:03:10Speaker 9: You is the.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Nature of my life Pleased to meet you.
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: Hope you get my name.
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: But what's puzzling.
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: You is the.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Nature of my game.
- 1:04:14Speaker 9: Oh, yeah. Ever comes a criminal.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: And all the citizens. As heads as tails.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: Discard the merciful Cause I'm really so strained to be like.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: Have some courtesy, have.
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: Some sympathy and some taste Lose all your.
- 1:04:41Speaker 15: Worldly politics, allay your sense of waste.
- 1:06:23Speaker 9: Bye. Bye.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 1:07:48Speaker 10: Oh, Crypt Keeper.
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: Quit checking out Sam's ass. This is Sam from Trick
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: or Treat, by the way. She is checking out his.
- 1:08:01Speaker 11: It's definitely a chick.
- 1:08:03Speaker 10: Are you sure?
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: She's got boobies.
- 1:08:04Speaker 10: Can you check?
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: No.
- 1:08:06Speaker 10: Can you go physically check?
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: No.
- 1:08:09Speaker 10: I think you need to.
- 1:08:10Speaker 21: No.
- 1:08:10Speaker 10: I think you need to see what's going on.
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: No.
- 1:08:14Speaker 11: She's carrying around a pizza chunk. What? She had a
- 1:08:17Speaker 11: pizza chunk.
- 1:08:18Speaker 10: Is that a glowing pizza chunk?
- 1:08:19Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:08:21Speaker 10: You and your glowing pizza chunks.
- 1:08:22Speaker 11: How hard is the reception on the pizza range?
- 1:08:24Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:08:25Speaker 10: I guess we'd have to ask them then. It was
- 1:08:28Speaker 10: written by.
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: These will say Royale with Cheese.
- 1:08:30Speaker 10: Royale with Cheese.
- 1:08:31Speaker 11: My boyfriend loves that show and I will not watch
- 1:08:34Speaker 11: it with him.
- 1:08:37Speaker 10: Because it's the end of the world and he's preparing.
- 1:08:39Speaker 11: I know, and I get all nervous and shit.
- 1:08:40Speaker 10: Because he's going to shoot somebody.
- 1:08:43Speaker 11: No shit, dude.
- 1:08:47Speaker 10: Quit looking at Sam's booty.
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: I'm deciding if I.
- 1:08:49Speaker 11: Want to get my picture taken with her. She wandered away.
- 1:08:53Speaker 10: Maybe later.
- 1:08:54Speaker 11: I hope you.
- 1:08:56Speaker 13: Haven't taken my stories too seriously.
