  hear today's play from Daniel 12 11

  which says, "With flattery he will
• 0:14
  corrupt those who have violated the
• 0:16
  covenant. But the people who know their
• 0:18
  God will firmly resist him. Those who
• 0:20
  are wise will instruct many, though for
• 0:23
  a time they will fall by the sword or be
• 0:26
  burned or captured or plundered. And
• 0:28
  when they fall, they will receive a
• 0:30
  little help, and many who are not
• 0:32
  sincere will join them. Some of the wise
• 0:35
  will stumble so that they may be
• 0:36
  refined, purified, and made spotless
• 0:39
  until the time of the end. For it will
• 0:41
  still come at the appointed
• 0:44
  time. Daniel 11 contains some of the
• 0:47
  most detailed prophecies in all of
• 0:50
  scripture, most of which have already
• 0:52
  been fulfilled and verified even among
• 0:55
  the pagans. It's a chapter that gives
• 0:57
  great credibility to the divine
• 0:59
  authorship of scripture. What is

  apppropo for us is the consistent theme
• 1:04
  of persecution among God's people. The
• 1:07
  wise or the faithful in this chapter are
• 1:09
  those whom God is refining, purifying,
• 1:12
  and making spotless for entry into his
• 1:15
  eternal kingdom. This description is
• 1:18
  similar to that found elsewhere in the
• 1:20
  New Testament, often repeated most
• 1:22
  clearly by Peter and echoed though in
• 1:25
  every church described in the book of
• 1:27
  Revelation. For their part, the wise
• 1:30
  teach the word of God in the midst of
• 1:31
  suffering. They obey God even when
• 1:34
  commanded otherwise by evil powers. This
• 1:37
  is what we must do today. We must obey
• 1:39
  God, which is fairly easy in America
• 1:42
  where there's little law against our
• 1:43
  religion. Though many have omitted their
• 1:46
  allegiance to God's truth where
• 1:48
  political pressure on DEI promotions has
• 1:50
  occurred, thus jeopardizing their own
• 1:53
  souls. We must share Jesus with people
• 1:56
  seeking salvation and then lead them
• 1:59
  into disciplehip by teaching everything
• 2:01
  Jesus commands. Winning people to God's
• 2:04
  way of thinking and living is the best
• 2:06
  way to ensure peace among our children
• 2:08
  and grandchildren from persecution for
• 2:11
  their faith. Our current failure to make
• 2:13
  disciples is why we have the little but
• 2:16
  potentially growing trouble we're
• 2:18
  experiencing. Are we faithful and wise
• 2:21
  disciples? If we're helping others walk
• 2:23
  in his ways regardless of the cost, then
• 2:26
  we can answer affirmatively. But if not,
