Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, Jack Wars fans, welcome into Duval, daily presented by jing Jack.com.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga, thanks so much for being here Monday, March 23rd for me and my Florida Gators, obviously the college basketball season is over, but the Jack Wars, they finally did something to get fans, parking their head up a little bit.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: They signed restricted free agent, wide receiver, Jake Bobo, to a tender offer.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is an interesting situation because as a restricted free agent, the Seattle Seahawks have the ability to match the offer sheet.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's a element to this that just makes it kind of your up in the air until
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: March 25th, the Seahawks had five days to match the offer sheet, so we're just going to be in limbo waiting to see if Jake Bobo will end up being a Jaguar, a wide receiver from the Seahawks played his college ball at UCLA and has never been like a
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: Full-time starter or anything like that.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jag war is at this point in their roster build are not looking for a full-time starter at wide receiver.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: They're looking for depth.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that is exactly what Jake Bobo can provide.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: And he can provide it at a fairly high level.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna dive into this, really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, you're pleased like and subscribe.

- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Help support the channel, look good while doing it.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm happy to be able to switch gears from basketball and CWA and come talk to you about some football to get my mind off because that was a difficult defeat, man.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: It absolutely was, but getting into this situation.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jag war is they offered, or they signed Jag Bobo to an offer sheet,
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: two years five and a half million dollars four and a half million dollars fully guaranteed one point seven five million dollars signing bonus one point two five million dollar base salary for twenty twenty six two million dollar base salary for twenty twenty seven a fifty k workout bonus and a two hundred k per game bump each year so
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: there's like some sort of odd typo here from Albert Brear's reporting on that deal.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: And that is where that information is coming from.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: But again, Seattle has until March 25th to match the deal, to match the offer sheet.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Whether or not they will do that, I think is pretty unclear.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: They do similar to the Jaguars, obviously have some top players locked in at the wide receiver position.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson Smith and Jigba, one of the breakout stars of the entire NFL, one of the best wide receivers in football, period where she achieved one of the best deep threats in football, Cooper Cup.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: You know, still a member of the Seahawks and still going to be a factor there.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: Tori Horton is a younger player who I think certainly, they have some fondness for Ricky White as a guy, I like to come and I, you know, so it's not like the Seahawks are going to be like in desperate need of having to sign Jake Bobo to this offer sheet.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: but I also think that absolutely could because he is more than a receiver he's a good special teams player like a four course special teams player and he has not ever like in in 2024 he had three hundred thirteen special teams reps he didn't have as many in twenty twenty five did he miss some time in twenty twenty five let's see here
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it looks like he missed a little bit of time, so that would be why, but yeah, so he's a core four special teams player does a lot on special teams.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's 6, 4, 2, 6, he's 27 years old, 28 later this year.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: a guy that as a just as a receiver when you look at him play, again that six foot four and two o'clock six that shows up on tape, you see him with his strength and the size of his frame able to box out defenders at times for sure and use that frame to get positioning whether that be on like a fade in the in zone or trying to get inside on a, you know,
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: out and up, whatever, maybe you see all these different things on tape, and again, let's not overblow this, like this is somebody who has primarily been used as a special team player throughout his career.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a full-time offensive starter, so again, don't get like, it's a player you want to have because he's a good glue player,
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: but it's not like this guy has gone out and proven all that much throughout his career.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Look, he has 36 catches in three years in the NFL.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm 46 targets.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: His efficiency numbers are excellent, really.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a good blocker, good special teamer.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: When he actually does get targeted, it has gone well.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like in 2023, 19 catches on 24 targets in 2024.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: 13 catches on 17 targets in 2025, four catches on five targets.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: Again, less action this year because there was a little bit of time where he was not up, not sure 100% honestly, if that was an injury or just he was inactive due to the construction of the roster.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: But did miss some time in between
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: At least, you know, time in the lineup between week eight and week 11 this year also wasn't active for week one, but he was active in the playoff run.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure for the Seattle Cocks.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: But Bobo, um,
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: has experienced with some of the guys on the Jaguar's offensive staff, you know, passing game coordinator Shane Waldron was the offensive coordinator in Seattle when Jake Bobo was drafted and Chad Morton was the running back coach.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: So there's familiarity there for sure.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: I know he far well is probably a big fan of this guy, the way he competes on special teams.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I know that probably the entire offensive staff is a fan just the way he competes and
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the efficiencies there, he's caught in 78% of his career targets.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then you also just don't have much of a drop rate at all career drop rate of 5% when he's been given opportunities to come down with contested catches.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's caught 72.7% of his contested catch targets, eight out of 11.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: And again, these numbers are small sample size.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: But if you try to extrapolate a little bit,
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: If you're talking about Jake Bobo potentially being what wide receiver four, if Travis Hunters out there, wide receiver five in a utility player who can do some specific things for you.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Again, including blocking and getting contested catch grabs, like, that's pretty darn good.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think that there's anything to complain about that there.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then,
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: as a player making on this offer sheet only two years and five and a half million.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: You'd be talking about somebody who's not impacting the compensatory pick formula at all.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jack Wars are slated in 2027 for a fourth round pick for Devon Lloyd, a fifth round pick for Travis ETF and a sixth round pick for Greg Newsom.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jack Wars are in a really good spot when it comes to the compensatory pick stuff and just having a ton of draft capital over the next two years, even though they don't have a first round pick this year.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: They still have, I think I have 11 picks for this year.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they're already slated for 10 and 20, 27 as well.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I think if the Jack Wars are able to snag Jake Bobo from Seattle, that would be big.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: That would be really big.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: There's obviously some level of interest from the Seahawks on Jake Bobo because excuse me, they did tender him.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like they did on March 11th, I believe it was.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: whatever day it was earlier this month.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: They did place the restrictive reagent tender on him.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, gonna be fascinating to see what the seahawks do.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: I, and this is just based off vibes and feel, I think they're gonna wanna keep him.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: Cause he is a glue player.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good player.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: Special teams, every time he gets an opportunity on the field,
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to try to keep them.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not going to be difficult to do.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a big offer sheet.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's competitive, obviously, for a back of the roster type receiver.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: And they do have depth at the receiver position.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: They've got good starters as well at the receiver position.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: So it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to have to wait and see.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: March 25th, I'm not sure the exact timing of that on March 25th.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be the 4pm Eastern Standard Time deadline at we normally see, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: So if you do know, you can put it in the comment section, but that'll do it for this one.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Jake Webo, on board if they're able to get them, absolutely as a depth receiver, not sure that that's going to happen.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: really appreciate y'all be in here.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, y'all have a good one.
