- 0:05Speaker 1: It's Thursday.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, off to a bad start already. It's Thursday,
- 0:08Speaker 2: August fourteenth, happy off day. It was well needed after
- 0:12Speaker 2: whatever the heck that Rocky series was.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Welcome back to Cardinal Territory.
- 0:17Speaker 2: My good friend and voice of the Spanish radio broadcast
- 0:20Speaker 2: with the Stainless Cardinals, Polo Sensio, is back on the show.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Back by popular demand.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I should say hello, thank you for taking some time
- 0:26Speaker 2: out of your very busy off day to chat with me,
- 0:29Speaker 2: Katie Wu.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I was just cleaning my apartment and making sure that
- 0:32Speaker 3: everything looks good because I'm a very clean person, are you. Yeah,
- 0:37Speaker 3: if you see me on the road or actually now
- 0:40Speaker 3: on the road at the stadium, I always try to
- 0:43Speaker 3: look good and my apartment always looks good because I
- 0:47Speaker 3: am a firm believer that if you go out of
- 0:50Speaker 3: your house feeling that your house is clean and you're good,
- 0:53Speaker 3: you're going to have a good day. So everybody out there,
- 0:56Speaker 3: clean your rooms, clean your house, and you will feel
- 0:59Speaker 3: a lot better. That's that's how I'm feeling right now.
- 1:01Speaker 3: It's a happy Thursday. Yes, that's seriously against the Rockies.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I mean watching baseball yesterday after our game the Cardinals
- 1:10Speaker 3: game against the Rockies. I was watching the Dodgers and
- 1:13Speaker 3: the Angels. It's like the Angels are to the Dodgers
- 1:17Speaker 3: what the Rockies are to the Cardinals. Yes, I thought
- 1:20Speaker 3: things that teams that struggle against everybody else, but then
- 1:24Speaker 3: against one team, boom, you go get it. But anyway,
- 1:29Speaker 3: that's that's how I feel. I feel good.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'm glad you feel good.
- 1:32Speaker 2: And I think we were had the same wavelength. Because
- 1:33Speaker 2: I cleaned my kitchen today. I was needed something that
- 1:36Speaker 2: I was on the road for like ten days, and
- 1:38Speaker 2: I don't know how an apartment can get so cluttered
- 1:41Speaker 2: when I'm not even in here. But I came home
- 1:43Speaker 2: after the our series yesterday and I looked around my
- 1:46Speaker 2: apartment as like something has to change, so look at.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Us has to change. Things are changing, Katie, Things are changing.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Things are very much changing. Let's get into it, Pullos.
- 1:57Speaker 2: We think about what the next six weeks for the
- 1:59Speaker 2: Cardinals are going to look like they're five hundred again.
- 2:02Speaker 2: On Monday, we were talking about them potentially sneaking in
- 2:05Speaker 2: three games back from the postseason or from the final
- 2:08Speaker 2: wildcard spot, making a potential postseason ish run. I don't
- 2:11Speaker 2: know how much stock you put into that. I don't
- 2:13Speaker 2: know if it's as little as I did.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And then you know, the.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Rocky Series kind of deflates the air. But when you
- 2:19Speaker 2: look at this team right now going forward, what do
- 2:22Speaker 2: you think is the most important thing they could dow?
- 2:26Speaker 3: I mean, coming into the season, we all heard it, right,
- 2:30Speaker 3: and we've said it before a couple of times that
- 2:32Speaker 3: I've internet show led the kids play. The most important
- 2:35Speaker 3: thing for me is that because as long as the
- 2:39Speaker 3: Mets exist, you're going to have a chance to get
- 2:41Speaker 3: into that third wildcard. As long as the Mets exist,
- 2:45Speaker 3: you're going to have a chance. You know, the Reds
- 2:46Speaker 3: are like one game out now we are. The Cardinals
- 2:49Speaker 3: are four games out. And if something, if we know
- 2:53Speaker 3: something about this team, is that we know nothing about
- 2:56Speaker 3: the team, Like this team can go hot, pop up
- 2:59Speaker 3: up about be a games over five hundred, and then
- 3:01Speaker 3: this team can go cold, blah blah blah, go at
- 3:04Speaker 3: five hundred and again at the beginning of the season,
- 3:07Speaker 3: that's what a lot of people were expecting, a five
- 3:10Speaker 3: hundred bowl club. Yes, I get it. The players don't
- 3:13Speaker 3: think that, the manager doesn't think that, the coaches don't
- 3:15Speaker 3: think that the front office doesn't think that, but everybody
- 3:18Speaker 3: the outside world was like, you know, that's what who
- 3:20Speaker 3: the Cardinals are. So I think what we are now
- 3:23Speaker 3: is what people were expecting for the Cardinals to be.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I also think that there is another run in them.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I do believe there's another run in them. How close
- 3:33Speaker 3: will they get to a playoff spot? We don't know
- 3:36Speaker 3: one thing that I've noticed this year, Katie. And you know,
- 3:39Speaker 3: I'm pretty new in Saint Leuis, right. This is our
- 3:42Speaker 3: tenth season doing baseball, and I still believe I still
- 3:45Speaker 3: think that I'm new to Sain Lewis over the last
- 3:48Speaker 3: few years except for the last two, but before that,
- 3:52Speaker 3: we always heard about the September devil magic and the
- 3:56Speaker 3: run to the players, d da da da. That is
- 3:58Speaker 3: not happening this year. So the mindset of the fan
- 4:01Speaker 3: base is changing, has changed. Nobody thinks amongst the fans
- 4:07Speaker 3: that this team has a run in them still, and
- 4:10Speaker 3: to me, that's important. That's important because it changes everything
- 4:15Speaker 3: that the front office and the coaches and the organization
- 4:19Speaker 3: is going to think in the future. The fans are changing.
- 4:22Speaker 3: The mindset that changing, and perhaps today's show should be.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Times are changing because now people are not believing in
- 4:31Speaker 3: this team. I just said, do I believe they have
- 4:33Speaker 3: another run? I do believe they have another run, and
- 4:36Speaker 3: I want them to have another run. So I don't
- 4:38Speaker 3: know what to think. I really don't know what to
- 4:40Speaker 3: think about this team. I mean, they show you one
- 4:42Speaker 3: day really really good things, then the next day things
- 4:45Speaker 3: don't go their ways. It's like a yeah, it's a
- 4:52Speaker 3: little frustrating for everybody. And you can tell like I
- 4:55Speaker 3: hardly ever get frustrated. But thank you, Katie. Well you've
- 4:58Speaker 3: made me frustrated this morning, that I have that.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Effect on people. It seems sorry about it. I'm with you.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I think there's, for whatever reason, a huge difference between
- 5:06Speaker 2: being three games out of a postseason spot and four.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I don't know why, but what I have taught, like
- 5:13Speaker 2: after the deadline, I told myself, release your expectations and
- 5:17Speaker 2: just see how they play. This rotation has problems, as
- 5:21Speaker 2: we know. There are some serious concern over the inconsistency
- 5:24Speaker 2: of the offense. I like the bullpen not their best
- 5:26Speaker 2: day yesterday. That's going to happen. You're allowed to have
- 5:29Speaker 2: a bad day if you're Jojo Romero. In the course
- 5:31Speaker 2: of three months, Okay, So, if there's one thing I'm
- 5:34Speaker 2: banking the success of this team on, it is the bullpen,
- 5:37Speaker 2: because they've overcome adversity over and over again. I'm just
- 5:40Speaker 2: not sure if that's enough to make up for a
- 5:43Speaker 2: very sketch starting rotation in terms of, you know, not
- 5:47Speaker 2: having a lot of consistency there and an offense that
- 5:49Speaker 2: also hasn't had a lot of consistency there.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So is it frustrating?
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yes, We've talked about it all season long with fans
- 5:54Speaker 2: like ride the roller coaster. It kind of feels like
- 5:57Speaker 2: a toxic relationship with the Saint Lois Cardinals with very
- 6:00Speaker 2: long time. But as we look forward to the Romainians
- 6:04Speaker 2: seven six weeks of the regular season, you are right.
- 6:07Speaker 2: The Mets keep Mets in it up, good one put
- 6:10Speaker 2: on a show, and you know, the Reds I'm not.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I've always been kind of a Reds hater and I
- 6:17Speaker 2: can't give you any valid reason why, so I'm just
- 6:20Speaker 2: gonna take my opinion out of there.
- 6:22Speaker 3: The Reds are like, it's one of those teams that
- 6:25Speaker 3: it's very easy to not like or to forget about them.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I just never I never believe that they will actually
- 6:31Speaker 2: put a run together. I could be wrong this year,
- 6:34Speaker 2: but I never actually felt that no.
- 6:36Speaker 3: No, no, And and it feels the same way because
- 6:40Speaker 3: we didn't know who they were they were going to be. Yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 3: they had a new manager, but how much impact does
- 6:44Speaker 3: a manager have on a team? And I guess you know,
- 6:47Speaker 3: Tito Francona's having a good impact on them because he
- 6:49Speaker 3: has the one game out of the bets because the
- 6:52Speaker 3: Mets keep metsing around. It's yeah, man, it's it's frustrating,
- 7:00Speaker 3: is maddening. But that's why we love it. That's why
- 7:02Speaker 3: we're here. That's why you are doing what you're doing.
- 7:04Speaker 3: That's why I do what I do because we love
- 7:07Speaker 3: that feeling of frustration and stress, thinking and hoping that
- 7:12Speaker 3: one day we're going to be part of that team
- 7:15Speaker 3: that is the final team, is the final team drinking champagne.
- 7:20Speaker 3: And that's why we keep doing it. And that's why
- 7:22Speaker 3: we go back to doing it this Cardinal team. Yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 3: I mean you said the rotation, Who are we? What
- 7:31Speaker 3: are we? You know? Is Libby tired? Is Liby just
- 7:33Speaker 3: having a bad rough stretch out? What's going on with
- 7:36Speaker 3: Michael as you're not at home, he's pretty good, you know,
- 7:39Speaker 3: he's decent, he's a five inning good guy. Then on
- 7:42Speaker 3: the road he just blows up. Who is Sonny Gray?
- 7:46Speaker 3: Sonny Gray is see your a's or is he not
- 7:48Speaker 3: your ace? And the Seed do things like an ace
- 7:51Speaker 3: should do. Then you have the other two guys, McGreevy
- 7:54Speaker 3: and Palante, which I was thinking this morning. If you
- 7:58Speaker 3: combine McGreevy and Planti you have a great pitcher like
- 8:01Speaker 3: because McGreevy is super cheer, super cool, attacks, attacks, and
- 8:05Speaker 3: then Polante cares so much that at times on the
- 8:08Speaker 3: mountain he looks like he's about to like knock somebody's
- 8:11Speaker 3: teeth in or something like that. It's just, it's it's
- 8:14Speaker 3: it's crazy to think that even though we have had
- 8:18Speaker 3: so many issues throughout the year. You said it, somehow
- 8:22Speaker 3: three sounds a lot better than four. But four is
- 8:25Speaker 3: not that bad. And I said it five minutes ago.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I believe this team still has a run. What kind
- 8:33Speaker 3: of run, I don't know, but I feel that going
- 8:35Speaker 3: into the last couple of weeks of the season, this
- 8:38Speaker 3: team is gonna have a real chance of sneaking in
- 8:40Speaker 3: the playoffs.
- 8:41Speaker 2: You and Adam Waynwright lock it in with your safe besties,
- 8:46Speaker 2: and we'll see Adam Waynwright this series. I believe him
- 8:48Speaker 2: and aj Prasinski, friend of the show, and a fal
- 8:51Speaker 2: Territory have the broadcast for Saturday nights Cardinals Yankees game.
- 8:54Speaker 1: We'll get into that series though.
- 8:55Speaker 2: First, however, we must hear from our good pals at
- 8:58Speaker 2: DraftKings for our player.
- 8:59Speaker 1: To watch segment. All right, we brought him. What are
- 9:07Speaker 1: you drinking? Did you got to Fielder's choice?
- 9:12Speaker 3: My friends are field their choice. Go get the polo
- 9:14Speaker 3: breakfast burrito. It's really good. So you know who you
- 9:17Speaker 3: know who eats a polo breakfast Mario quite often. You're
- 9:20Speaker 3: not gonna believe Jojo.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Romero, Oh my gosh, the guy who is our Draftings
- 9:25Speaker 2: player spotlight the way.
- 9:27Speaker 1: No, I didn't tell you this, but yeah, this is true.
- 9:29Speaker 2: See so in sync, I wanted to talk about Jojo Romero,
- 9:32Speaker 2: so I figured we'd make him our.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Our player spotlight. Uh.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Does he buy his scooter to field his choice, pick
- 9:37Speaker 2: up the burrito and then go to the ballpark.
- 9:39Speaker 3: No? No, he has breakfast and then goes to the ballpark. Okay,
- 9:43Speaker 3: it's it's it's funny because I you know, we're neighbors
- 9:46Speaker 3: and we walked. I walked the same way that he
- 9:49Speaker 3: goes by. Oh here ding ding ding ding, kind of
- 9:53Speaker 3: like yesterday, ding ding. That's the ball out of a
- 9:56Speaker 3: good one to God.
- 9:57Speaker 1: But anyway, that was that was a tank.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Jojo Romero what a guy coming in after the trade
- 10:03Speaker 2: deadline as the team's unofficial closer.
- 10:06Speaker 1: They are doing a closer.
- 10:07Speaker 2: By committee by definition, because there's only one left hander,
- 10:10Speaker 2: Romero in the bullpen. Though. John King will start a
- 10:13Speaker 2: rehassignment either today, Thursday or Friday with Triple A Memphis
- 10:16Speaker 2: and Charlotte, I believe is where they are. So John
- 10:18Speaker 2: King on his way back, hopefully soon. But for Jojo,
- 10:22Speaker 2: I think it's so interesting as we see him, and
- 10:24Speaker 2: you know Jojo, well, you're very close with him, Polo,
- 10:26Speaker 2: and you look at a where he was in twenty
- 10:28Speaker 2: three when he came over in that trade four mendo
- 10:30Speaker 2: so sat from Philadelphia to where he is now, the
- 10:33Speaker 2: progression and the belief in his stuff. He's nasty and yes,
- 10:36Speaker 2: I know that pitch did not go his way against
- 10:38Speaker 2: the Rockies yesterday, but that was the first home run
- 10:40Speaker 2: he'd surrendered since April twenty first, and he's been so
- 10:44Speaker 2: effective against lefties all year. Has really found a way
- 10:46Speaker 2: to combat ritis, and he is when you look at
- 10:49Speaker 2: the Cardinals bullpen that should be depleted, helping keep them
- 10:53Speaker 2: sustainable and effective, even as a top option in that bullpen.
- 10:57Speaker 2: In your conversations with Jojo Romero, what have you learned
- 10:59Speaker 2: about him as he's embraced this new role here in
- 11:01Speaker 2: Saint Louis.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Well, one thing is, and we hear this a lot
- 11:06Speaker 3: from guys. He wants to stay here. He is open
- 11:09Speaker 3: to listening, he is open to sitting down, him and
- 11:12Speaker 3: his agent. They want to be here. They want to
- 11:15Speaker 3: stay here. They like it here. They're really, really do
- 11:18Speaker 3: And when you hear you don't hear that all the
- 11:21Speaker 3: time from every single player. Some players are like, hey,
- 11:24Speaker 3: I'm going to be a free agent and see what happens.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Some hey, whatever happens. But when somebody tells you, like
- 11:29Speaker 3: the kids would Ryan Helsley, Hey, I know I'm going
- 11:30Speaker 3: to be traded, but hopefully in the off season we
- 11:33Speaker 3: can talk and I can come back. So Jojo wants
- 11:35Speaker 3: to be here, and that's why he wants that ball.
- 11:38Speaker 3: He wants it and he takes it. He does is
- 11:41Speaker 3: the best that he can and under the circumstances being
- 11:44Speaker 3: the only lefty, and that's one thing that I haven't
- 11:46Speaker 3: asked him, and I will do you have a little
- 11:50Speaker 3: extra pressure just knowing that you are the one lefty
- 11:53Speaker 3: in the bullpen right now, you have a bunch of rieties.
- 11:56Speaker 3: But like yesterday, you know, he was the guy and
- 11:59Speaker 3: one way or the other, the three high leverage guys
- 12:02Speaker 3: that we have right now, you cannot use them every day.
- 12:05Speaker 3: And Jojo was the guy at that moment, and you
- 12:07Speaker 3: know it didn't work out for him, And yes it
- 12:09Speaker 3: was a bad moment, but you said it. You know,
- 12:12Speaker 3: one home run since April, that's not bad at all.
- 12:15Speaker 3: He wants it, He wants it bad. He has that
- 12:16Speaker 3: passion and you see it, you know when he closed
- 12:19Speaker 3: the game the other night, his passion, his like emphasis
- 12:23Speaker 3: on let's go. I like that. You like that from
- 12:26Speaker 3: a player. You like to see that because there's so
- 12:29Speaker 3: many players and pictures in particular that you don't see
- 12:32Speaker 3: any passion. And as a fan, you want that. You
- 12:36Speaker 3: want that connection because if you're in the stands, if
- 12:38Speaker 3: you're at home watching or listening on La Tremendo eight
- 12:41Speaker 3: eighty and Espanol, of course, and you get excited. You
- 12:44Speaker 3: want your players to get excited, and I welcome that,
- 12:48Speaker 3: and I welcome somebody like Jojo Rometo on my team
- 12:51Speaker 3: any time, any year, any day. I want somebody like that,
- 12:55Speaker 3: because the last thing I want is somebody that shows
- 12:58Speaker 3: no emotion. He might be somebody might be effective all
- 13:01Speaker 3: the time, but with no emotion, that takes away from
- 13:05Speaker 3: the moment. I love what he does, I love what
- 13:08Speaker 3: he is doing, and I really want him to keep
- 13:12Speaker 3: succeeding and being a superstar one day. And again that
- 13:15Speaker 3: doesn't heard that his parents are family, are Mexican, somno Mahicano.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I'm with you on everything there from Jojo and what
- 13:24Speaker 2: he's done in twenty three when he came in and
- 13:27Speaker 2: he was the closer, that was the Cardinals just figuring out. Okay,
- 13:30Speaker 2: look we are twenty games out of it. Let's see
- 13:32Speaker 2: what he has. Can he figure this out? We're gonna
- 13:33Speaker 2: put him in there, regardless of lame, regardless of handonness.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Go figure it out, singer swim, and he did a
- 13:37Speaker 2: really nice job that gave him the confidence to be
- 13:39Speaker 2: a key setup believer. In twenty four, we know how
- 13:41Speaker 2: good that bullpen was and now here. He is in
- 13:44Speaker 2: the same role kind of that he was in twenty
- 13:46Speaker 2: twenty three, except they already know what they have in him.
- 13:50Speaker 2: They already know what kind of stuff he is, how
- 13:51Speaker 2: he prepares, how he goes in attacks opposing hitters. And
- 13:55Speaker 2: when I talk to him, he said, you know, yeah,
- 13:57Speaker 2: of course it's not ideal to be the only lefty
- 13:59Speaker 2: he goes. But I don't think of it at that,
- 14:01Speaker 2: he says. I think of it more as a I
- 14:03Speaker 2: don't have a designated role. My role is to just
- 14:05Speaker 2: be ready. Whether it's the sixth, seventh, eighth, or ninth.
- 14:08Speaker 2: All I need to know is who am I going
- 14:10Speaker 2: to face. And he goes to our pal Julio in
- 14:13Speaker 2: the bullpen and ask who are the pinch hitters, what
- 14:15Speaker 2: lane we need to prepare for, and just tell me
- 14:17Speaker 2: when to be ready, and I'll go in. And because
- 14:19Speaker 2: he has that confidence and the trust and his stuff,
- 14:22Speaker 2: that stuff plays regardless of lane leverage, wherever they are
- 14:25Speaker 2: in the game. So Jojo Romero can be a real
- 14:27Speaker 2: weapon for this team next year. And as the Cardinals
- 14:30Speaker 2: are trying to figure out exactly who they can count on,
- 14:32Speaker 2: I think they already know they can count on Jojo
- 14:34Speaker 2: in twenty.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Twenty six, count on Jojo. I like that, that's a
- 14:37Speaker 3: campaign hashtag count on Jojo. And then Jojo. That's a
- 14:41Speaker 3: beautiful name, Joe. I mean, yeah, his name is Joseph
- 14:43Speaker 3: abel Romero. But by the way, by the way, I
- 14:47Speaker 3: had a conversation with his dad the other day, by
- 14:50Speaker 3: the name of Abeli. He's going to be here this weekend.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I don't know if you met him before, but I'll
- 14:54Speaker 3: introduce you to him. And we were talking again where
- 14:58Speaker 3: I live in California. He Jojo grew up like thirty
- 15:02Speaker 3: minutes from where I live in California a little time,
- 15:05Speaker 3: by the name of Oxtar. That's saying with the town
- 15:07Speaker 3: ox Star, California. On his bio on MLB and everywhere else,
- 15:10Speaker 3: it says Camillo because he was born in a hospital
- 15:14Speaker 3: in Camillo. But he represents ox Star, So anybody out there,
- 15:20Speaker 3: JoJo's dad wants you to know that he represents and
- 15:23Speaker 3: he claims ox Star California. He is not a fufu
- 15:26Speaker 3: from Camarillo.
- 15:27Speaker 1: So there you go, California. Love you and me both.
- 15:30Speaker 2: We know that if you have not played pick six
- 15:33Speaker 2: over our draft kings, let me chose for you. Usually
- 15:35Speaker 2: this is Bernie segment. He is not obviously on this episode. Uh,
- 15:39Speaker 2: and I can't make picks for you, but I can't
- 15:41Speaker 2: tell you that he go to the DraftKings website, there
- 15:45Speaker 2: are plenty of the I think there are five major
- 15:48Speaker 2: league games today some available that I'm seeing. Oh, our
- 15:52Speaker 2: pal Hunter Goodman point five home runs. That's that's something
- 15:56Speaker 2: that you can pick if you would like to say.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Zooki is on there.

- 16:49Speaker 1: Yay, oh right back to it.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Well, as we ask viewers of this podcast, no, because
- 16:54Speaker 2: I've only complained about it eighty times so far, I
- 16:57Speaker 2: missed a pretty big event in Saint Louis last week weekend.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Your pal Cardinals great YadA A Molina was back in
- 17:04Speaker 2: Saint Louis in the dugout in uniform with manager Alli
- 17:07Speaker 2: Marmel and his staff.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Yes, did you have a question?
- 17:12Speaker 3: No? No, No, it's right here, oh number four here.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Yes, for our podcast friends.
- 17:17Speaker 2: There is a framed YadA Amelina jersey in Polo's apartment
- 17:21Speaker 2: behind him.
- 17:23Speaker 1: With the gloves nice.
- 17:26Speaker 3: He signed for me.
- 17:27Speaker 2: There, love that love that for you. My background is
- 17:31Speaker 2: not nearly as cool, but whatever, it's fine.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Uh.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Everyone that was there again, wasn't me? Uh has raved
- 17:38Speaker 2: about how that weekend went. And I know you and
- 17:40Speaker 2: Yadi are especially close. You helped organize this. What was
- 17:44Speaker 2: your takeaway from Yadi weekend.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I loved it. I you know, like I tell people,
- 17:50Speaker 3: when people tell me, I'll tell him we miss him,
- 17:52Speaker 3: tell him we miss him. And they missed the player, right,
- 17:55Speaker 3: they missed the passion. For me, I miss my friend
- 17:59Speaker 3: because you know, for whatever reason we we we got
- 18:04Speaker 3: close to the point where, yeah we it's always baseball,
- 18:08Speaker 3: but it's more family and and just life now than
- 18:13Speaker 3: than than than baseball. And I loved having him here.
- 18:17Speaker 3: I had, like you said, a little small part on
- 18:21Speaker 3: him being being back in Saint Louis. And when I
- 18:24Speaker 3: picked him up from the airport, he had a smile
- 18:27Speaker 3: from here to here and he sees me and hey,
- 18:30Speaker 3: let's go, let's do this. And from the minute he
- 18:33Speaker 3: got here, he was happy, he was relaxed, he enjoyed
- 18:38Speaker 3: his time. He missed the I think that the part
- 18:42Speaker 3: that he missed the most, other than the fans and
- 18:45Speaker 3: the love of the fans, was be part of the
- 18:48Speaker 3: team again. Feel like you're part of a team. And
- 18:51Speaker 3: before I go forward with this, kudos props high five
- 18:58Speaker 3: star in the forehead to Oliver Marmont. I mean he did,
- 19:02Speaker 3: Ali did a phenomenal job of I don't know like
- 19:07Speaker 3: trying to make people understand that he's not scared. He
- 19:12Speaker 3: is very secure. He is confident of who he is.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Oli Oliver, come like I tell him, call him. Because
- 19:20Speaker 3: he was ahead of everybody. He was ahead of the
- 19:23Speaker 3: media once he realized that this was happening, once he
- 19:26Speaker 3: heard that Yadi was on the plane and Yaddy had
- 19:29Speaker 3: landed in Saint Louis. Okay, this is happening. He is here.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Let me talk to the media, let me talk to
- 19:34Speaker 3: the fans, and let's make sure that Yadier Molina, who
- 19:39Speaker 3: is a nikon, a hero, beloved, cardinal and forever will be,
- 19:44Speaker 3: feels welcome and doesn't feel like he's stepping on anybody's toes. So, Oliver,
- 19:49Speaker 3: if you're watching, I told you already face to face
- 19:52Speaker 3: on Saturday morning. I'm saying it again. You did a
- 19:55Speaker 3: phenomenal job of telling people. I know what I have,
- 19:58Speaker 3: I know who I am, I know who this guy is,
- 20:01Speaker 3: and if he can make me better as a manager
- 20:04Speaker 3: and make my team better now and for the future,
- 20:07Speaker 3: anybody who can make me better, and even you know me,
- 20:10Speaker 3: Polo or you Katie, we are welcome. We welcome those people,
- 20:15Speaker 3: come challenge me, make me better. Let's work together for
- 20:18Speaker 3: one goal, and the goal is to bring Cardinal Baseball
- 20:22Speaker 3: back to the playoffs and bring number twelve to the house.
- 20:25Speaker 3: So with that being said, Ali again, Felicia did a
- 20:29Speaker 3: great job. You earned a lot more. I mean I
- 20:31Speaker 3: already respected you, but a lot more than before and
- 20:34Speaker 3: I told you already. But yeah, going back to Yadi,
- 20:37Speaker 3: I mean he enjoyed every single one of the moments
- 20:41Speaker 3: talking to the catchers, you know, putting a couple of
- 20:45Speaker 3: thirty minute, one hour clinics for Poso, for for Petro Pajez,
- 20:49Speaker 3: for Pogi, for KT, for Julio Range, the coach in
- 20:53Speaker 3: the bullpen. And one of the things that some people
- 20:56Speaker 3: don't understand. Yeah, you're a catcher, right and you are
- 20:59Speaker 3: one of the best. Ever, that doesn't mean that you
- 21:02Speaker 3: only know catching. You know a lot of things planning,
- 21:05Speaker 3: you know, pitching. And one of the conversations I had
- 21:08Speaker 3: was with Andrew Garnillo and another believer for the Cardinals,
- 21:12Speaker 3: and he was very happy to not only meet him,
- 21:15Speaker 3: but to talk to him and to hear what he
- 21:18Speaker 3: was saying about planning ahead of time. So his visit
- 21:23Speaker 3: when I dropped him off at the airport on the
- 21:25Speaker 3: way back on Sunday morning, I asked him, Hey, from
- 21:27Speaker 3: one to ten, how do you you know what's the
- 21:30Speaker 3: grade you put on this visit? And he said eight.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, that's not about grade. And then he
- 21:36Speaker 3: said it will be ten if my flight doesn't get
- 21:39Speaker 3: delayed back home. The flight got delayed about forty five minutes,
- 21:43Speaker 3: so maybe a nine. I mean, I cannot promise that
- 21:46Speaker 3: he's going to be back. I'm not him, He's not
- 21:48Speaker 3: I but I can tell you that he is very
- 21:51Speaker 3: happy and he's looking forward to coming back and talk
- 21:55Speaker 3: some more baseball with the guys and get to know
- 21:58Speaker 3: this team, because he knows this team is going to
- 22:00Speaker 3: be a lot of those guys, a lot of the
- 22:02Speaker 3: guys we have are gonna be here for a while,
- 22:04Speaker 3: for a few years, so he wants them to know
- 22:07Speaker 3: him and he wants to know them too. So it
- 22:10Speaker 3: was a very good visit for Saint Louis, for him,
- 22:13Speaker 3: for Cardinal Nation, for our manager, for our front office
- 22:17Speaker 3: and our future front office. And also, I mean he
- 22:20Speaker 3: made an appearance at then you see him one of
- 22:23Speaker 3: his gloves. They didn't have a glove from Yadi at
- 22:25Speaker 3: the You see him for some reason. Yeah, it was crazy.
- 22:28Speaker 3: So it's there now and it's going to be out
- 22:31Speaker 3: for people to watch it or look at it. And
- 22:33Speaker 3: again he did things that in the past he didn't
- 22:36Speaker 3: because he was playing. He was worried about playing baseball
- 22:39Speaker 3: and being ready. Now he got from what I saw right,
- 22:43Speaker 3: he got to enjoy baseball again. He got to enjoy
- 22:47Speaker 3: then you see him, and if we haven't been to
- 22:49Speaker 3: the Cardinals museum, please do so it's really really cool.
- 22:52Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean it was really really good, Katie.
- 22:54Speaker 3: And you missed a good weekend of baseball because the
- 22:59Speaker 3: Cardinals the Cubs, and you miss the return of Yadi
- 23:02Speaker 3: and Molina. But I'm sure that you'll be around for
- 23:04Speaker 3: the next time he's he's here.
- 23:06Speaker 1: But you know what I did see.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I did see a shutout loss of the Rockies and
- 23:09Speaker 2: a series lost to the Rockies. So obviously, really good
- 23:12Speaker 2: timing on you.
- 23:14Speaker 3: You we need to get you out of here.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Remind me careful what you're for when I think you're
- 23:20Speaker 2: completely right about the Yaudi situation. Again, I wasn't there,
- 23:23Speaker 2: but from people that I've talked to, whether it was
- 23:25Speaker 2: the importance of Yati coming back like he is Saint Louis.
- 23:29Speaker 2: You know, we this franchise is so lucky to have
- 23:31Speaker 2: so many historic names and but there is there's only
- 23:34Speaker 2: one number four. And for Yati to come back after
- 23:37Speaker 2: such a long absence, I you know, talked to him
- 23:39Speaker 2: in spring training, as you know, and that was the
- 23:41Speaker 2: first time we really heard from him in a while.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Just about where he was at.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I think it makes a ton of sense to want
- 23:46Speaker 2: to be around his family and help his son who's
- 23:48Speaker 2: in high school. Uh, try to commit and he did
- 23:50Speaker 2: to U t Austin, I believe right, Yeah, congratulations Yannu.
- 23:54Speaker 2: But for him to come back have that reception, to
- 23:57Speaker 2: have Ali Marmal do what he did and say like, hey,
- 23:59Speaker 2: I'm not going to be selfish here. This is the
- 24:01Speaker 2: best thing for everybody in the organization to have Yati here,
- 24:04Speaker 2: come sit in the dugout with me, Yati in the
- 24:07Speaker 2: city connects. I just loved everything about it. And I
- 24:09Speaker 2: know that he did a couple of signings out one
- 24:12Speaker 2: with you out in South County to go visit the museum,
- 24:14Speaker 2: to just be a part of this organization. Again, it
- 24:17Speaker 2: can be very hard as a player, not just a player,
- 24:20Speaker 2: but a franchise icon to step away from the game
- 24:23Speaker 2: hire and not really know what your identity is after that.
- 24:26Speaker 2: But one thing about YACHTI is that he will always
- 24:28Speaker 2: be synonymous with Saint Louis. And I think that was
- 24:31Speaker 2: relayed to him this weekend. And you know him much
- 24:33Speaker 2: better than I do. Maybe that was something he needed
- 24:35Speaker 2: to feel and experience firsthand to really understand it.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Yeah, because last time he was here was when Adam
- 24:41Speaker 3: retired and listen lasted about twenty four hours and it
- 24:46Speaker 3: was quick. It was in and out, in and out.
- 24:48Speaker 3: This one was a lot more relaxed, a lot more time.
- 24:52Speaker 3: He enjoyed it. He enjoyed it very much. And I
- 24:55Speaker 3: don't know if you saw this, but at the end
- 24:58Speaker 3: of game, one of that serious pa or was like
- 25:00Speaker 3: praising his presence in the dagout like during the game,
- 25:05Speaker 3: and Benji Molina, my partner in the booth, he caught
- 25:08Speaker 3: you know, he does his job. I do my job,
- 25:10Speaker 3: so he's looking more around what's what's happening, And he
- 25:13Speaker 3: caught it and we talked about it during the during
- 25:15Speaker 3: the broadcast, how Yadi was like whistling and yelling, not
- 25:19Speaker 3: yelling in a bad way, like for him to listen
- 25:21Speaker 3: to him to hear him, and he was like telling him, like, hey,
- 25:24Speaker 3: go inside against Kyle Tucker, Like you know, the Cuffs
- 25:27Speaker 3: were pitching inside and they hit Wilson Contreras, and they've
- 25:30Speaker 3: been hitting everybody. And during one not bad with Kyle Tucker.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I looked and Yaddy was telling Pedro like go up
- 25:36Speaker 3: and in like like make him feel uncomfortable. So two
- 25:39Speaker 3: pitches up and in the second one hit a fly
- 25:41Speaker 3: ball to center field with Mensa with runners first and
- 25:45Speaker 3: second late in the game. So not only he was
- 25:48Speaker 3: talking to Pedro, and then Pedro like, Okay, I need
- 25:50Speaker 3: to tell this guy, you need we need to do
- 25:52Speaker 3: this a little more, because if I don't have the experience,
- 25:55Speaker 3: that guy over there has the experience, and let's do it.
- 25:58Speaker 3: And Pedro said it. I enjoyed it. I really loved
- 26:00Speaker 3: the way he was on me the whole game. And
- 26:02Speaker 3: I hope he comes back and we continue this relationship.
- 26:06Speaker 3: And let's not forget Pedro and and and Joel and
- 26:09Speaker 3: even Evanne. Those are young young catchers that need some guidance.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Just just because they are on the big league doesn't
- 26:15Speaker 3: mean they don't need to get better or they don't
- 26:17Speaker 3: need help. I think to stay at this level. That's
- 26:19Speaker 3: when you need the most help because sometimes, you know,
- 26:21Speaker 3: you go through the minor leagues, then you get to
- 26:24Speaker 3: the big leagues, and it's sometimes it's very easy to
- 26:26Speaker 3: get to the big leagues. You know, guys that have
- 26:28Speaker 3: a lot of a lot of talent, a lot of power.
- 26:30Speaker 3: But then once you get to the big leagues, what's
- 26:32Speaker 3: your next challenge? Just be in the big leagues, Just navigate,
- 26:35Speaker 3: be a log in the ocean and the Gulf of Mexico,
- 26:38Speaker 3: just like going around and you know here and there,
- 26:40Speaker 3: No you want to You want that challenge. You want
- 26:43Speaker 3: to be challenged at something or by someone. And I
- 26:47Speaker 3: think having somebody like that it challenged not only the catchers,
- 26:51Speaker 3: but a lot of people. And who knows, perhaps even
- 26:53Speaker 3: that even the manager, you know, because I know they
- 26:55Speaker 3: were talking a lot. They were talking, and he was
- 26:57Speaker 3: talking with Dusty, he was talking with Stubby, Clad with
- 27:00Speaker 3: Pop Warner, with everybody. And I know from afar looking
- 27:05Speaker 3: at it, he enjoyed it, and those guys enjoyed it too.
- 27:09Speaker 3: It's it was a good It was a good It
- 27:12Speaker 3: was a good thing. It was a good thing to
- 27:13Speaker 3: have him. And you said it, there's there's many many
- 27:17Speaker 3: legends and many many Hall of famers, but there's only
- 27:20Speaker 3: one YACHTI you know, and that guy when you when
- 27:24Speaker 3: you see him walk on the field, you know that
- 27:27Speaker 3: that somebody, that that person is special and he's very
- 27:30Speaker 3: special in many many ways here and.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Sid those and how lucky are we to be able
- 27:34Speaker 2: to chronicle even just a short bit of Yaddi's time here?
- 27:37Speaker 3: Right? I love that. That's that's awesome.

- 28:46Speaker 2: We've done a lot of talking about the state of
- 28:48Speaker 2: the Cardinals organization, but one thing that I think we
- 28:50Speaker 2: should bring a lot of light to You've pointed out
- 28:53Speaker 2: in the beginning of the episode. It's been ten years
- 28:55Speaker 2: of Spanish radio broadcast here in Saint Louis. You and
- 28:58Speaker 2: Benji Molina have done an exceptional job job and making
- 29:01Speaker 2: the Cardinals more accessible, not just domestically, but globally, and
- 29:05Speaker 2: that's important as Major League Baseball tries to expand its game,
- 29:08Speaker 2: as the Saint was Cardinals, one of the most historic
- 29:11Speaker 2: organizations in sports, try to do the same. And I
- 29:14Speaker 2: don't think maybe what you have done has been emphasized enough.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Lately, so let's let's give it a shot.
- 29:20Speaker 2: How does the Cardinals Spanish broadcast work for you?
- 29:23Speaker 1: What do you enjoy about it?
- 29:25Speaker 3: It's a miracle that is working now. I enjoy everything
- 29:29Speaker 3: like like the people you know. Like I always tell
- 29:32Speaker 3: when people ask me, what's your favorite part of the
- 29:35Speaker 3: favorite part of your job. The favorite part of my
- 29:37Speaker 3: job is having those headphones on and talk about baseball
- 29:41Speaker 3: like the people you know, meeting people like you, like
- 29:43Speaker 3: you know, all of the writers, the players, the coaches,
- 29:46Speaker 3: the owners, the GM, the new GM, the press. Like
- 29:49Speaker 3: that is that is really really good And I enjoy that.
- 29:53Speaker 3: I knew that was that was going to be the
- 29:55Speaker 3: part of the job that I was gonna it was
- 29:58Speaker 3: gonna be easy for me if there's so, but nothing
- 30:00Speaker 3: is ever easy, but connecting with the community, not only
- 30:04Speaker 3: with the Latinos and San Louis, but the Latinos. There
- 30:07Speaker 3: are fans of the Cardinals worldwide and Latinos that are
- 30:12Speaker 3: worldwide fans of baseball because we like I said, yesterday,
- 30:17Speaker 3: you were watching I didn't know, but I told you,
- 30:19Speaker 3: and you said you were doing it too. You were
- 30:20Speaker 3: watching the Dodgers against the Angels. And tonight I'm gonna
- 30:22Speaker 3: watch whatever game is out there. Why because we love
- 30:25Speaker 3: baseball and whenever I'm watching, I like to listen. A
- 30:28Speaker 3: couple of innings in Spanish. Why because I want to
- 30:31Speaker 3: know what's out there. I want to know who's out there,
- 30:33Speaker 3: and yeah, you know, I want to know what kind
- 30:36Speaker 3: of competition is out there and see how I can
- 30:39Speaker 3: get better by learning from other people. And that is
- 30:42Speaker 3: very important because when we look at others, when we
- 30:46Speaker 3: see what others do then help us grow. That's really good.
- 30:50Speaker 3: And what we have done here in Saint Louis little
- 30:53Speaker 3: by little we become. We are now a staple of
- 30:58Speaker 3: Cardinals baseball because the last few years you cannot paint
- 31:03Speaker 3: the picture of the Cardinals without the Spanish broadcast and
- 31:06Speaker 3: the calls and the moments that Benji and I have
- 31:09Speaker 3: been able to throw out there to our fans and
- 31:12Speaker 3: to be able, Like I said, you know, JoJo's dad
- 31:15Speaker 3: they listen in Spanish and Mexico. His grandparents live in
- 31:18Speaker 3: Mexico and they don't speak a lot of English. So
- 31:21Speaker 3: the families are connected with the players. A couple of
- 31:25Speaker 3: days ago was talking to Julio Ranghahler, both play coach.
- 31:28Speaker 3: His parents listened to the broadcast and Panama and not
- 31:31Speaker 3: only that, you know, not only that the families of
- 31:34Speaker 3: the players, but people all over the world. They let
- 31:37Speaker 3: us know where they're listening from. And you said it.
- 31:40Speaker 3: MLB is telling us they want to grow the game
- 31:43Speaker 3: of baseball worldwide or keep growing. It will help us grow,
- 31:46Speaker 3: help me, help you, as Jerry Maguire said in that movie,
- 31:50Speaker 3: help me help you, so help us help MLB continue
- 31:55Speaker 3: to grow. And I know in Saint Lewis the population
- 31:59Speaker 3: of Latinos is not it's not huge. It's not big
- 32:01Speaker 3: like you know, like Chicago, New York, LA, or any
- 32:04Speaker 3: any any place of California. But we are here and
- 32:07Speaker 3: we I see them. I see me on the streets.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I see the kids. I see them like lasking me
- 32:13Speaker 3: for autographs and things like that. And that's that's important.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I don't do this and I'm gonna talk about me.
- 32:20Speaker 3: I don't do this because I want to be recognized
- 32:23Speaker 3: or I want people to give me likes on Instagram.
- 32:25Speaker 3: That's the last thing in my worries. You know, I
- 32:27Speaker 3: have a family, I have myself, I have friends that
- 32:29Speaker 3: I that I worry about. Likes or no likes on Instagram.
- 32:33Speaker 3: You know whatever, if you if you like it, fine,
- 32:36Speaker 3: if not, that's also fine. But September eighteenth, we just
- 32:40Speaker 3: got a letter. I got it and then you know,
- 32:43Speaker 3: Benji also got it. We've being recognized by the City
- 32:46Speaker 3: of Saint Louis as part of you know, a group.
- 32:48Speaker 3: I think it's like this year is like four people
- 32:51Speaker 3: that they are recognizing as Latinos helping Latinos, Like like
- 32:55Speaker 3: the Hispanic Heritage Month is being celebrated, and they are
- 32:59Speaker 3: going to celebrate us. They're gonna give us an award
- 33:02Speaker 3: or diploma. I don't do my job for that, but
- 33:05Speaker 3: I welcome that because being recognized, even though it's not
- 33:08Speaker 3: part of what I want to do, it feels good.
- 33:11Speaker 3: It feels good to know that people have their back.
- 33:13Speaker 3: It feels good to know that people see what you do,
- 33:17Speaker 3: hear what you do, and perhaps you don't see eye
- 33:21Speaker 3: to eye with other people in the community, but when
- 33:23Speaker 3: we work together, good things can happen. And yes, you know,
- 33:27Speaker 3: we've been doing any one games now for three or
- 33:30Speaker 3: four years now, well actually since COVID we've done every
- 33:33Speaker 3: single home game. Hopefully in the future we can we
- 33:36Speaker 3: can go out more, we can do out more, we
- 33:37Speaker 3: can take Cardinal Baseball to the road and continue to grow.
- 33:42Speaker 3: That's that's that's one part. I like to be challenged.
- 33:46Speaker 3: I like to feel that there's a challenge out there
- 33:48Speaker 3: for me, and I think doing one sixty two at
- 33:51Speaker 3: some point it's gonna be a good challenge. I'm up
- 33:53Speaker 3: for it. And you know, I only have to thank
- 33:59Speaker 3: my family for supporting me, my wife, my kids, my dogs,
- 34:02Speaker 3: my mom, my brother, my sisters, all of them. People
- 34:05Speaker 3: like you, Katie, people like like you know, Derek Gould,
- 34:07Speaker 3: people like like Danielle Guerrero, like John Dan like uh Ben,
- 34:11Speaker 3: Jammine Hoffman, you know, the older writers here and and
- 34:14Speaker 3: uh and and sign lewis that from the day we
- 34:17Speaker 3: got here, have taken the interest of learning who who
- 34:20Speaker 3: is this guy? Who are these people? Because they are
- 34:23Speaker 3: part of Cardinals Baseball now, and that nobody's gonna take
- 34:27Speaker 3: that away from us. So yeah, I mean thank you
- 34:29Speaker 3: to the community, to the organization of course, for for
- 34:32Speaker 3: helping us keep moving forward and hopefully in the future
- 34:35Speaker 3: we continue that. It's been a lot of fun and
- 34:39Speaker 3: it's going to be a lot more fun in the future.
- 34:41Speaker 3: And thank you for for for asking this because it's important.
- 34:44Speaker 3: It's important for people to know that that we are
- 34:47Speaker 3: here and that we are here for you, and we
- 34:51Speaker 3: welcome every single inch of help, criticism, challenges, let's go,
- 34:57Speaker 3: let's keep growing. I really enjoy my time here and
- 35:01Speaker 3: I cannot wait. You know, I'm waiting to see what
- 35:04Speaker 3: the future holds for me as a broadcaster and obviously
- 35:07Speaker 3: for the Cardinals Spanish broadcast, because I was telling somebody
- 35:10Speaker 3: else all the work that I've done this year's is
- 35:13Speaker 3: not just for me because one day, I don't know when,
- 35:16Speaker 3: you know, it could be standing up, or it could
- 35:18Speaker 3: be with my feet in front of me. I'm gonna
- 35:21Speaker 3: leave this place, you know, if I you know what
- 35:23Speaker 3: I'm saying, Like I can be walking where I can
- 35:25Speaker 3: be dead, But somebody else is gonna come in and
- 35:28Speaker 3: they're gonna keep the work or or or benefit from
- 35:32Speaker 3: from my sacrifices. And that is also part of the job.
- 35:36Speaker 3: And I love that to think that somebody else is
- 35:39Speaker 3: gonna come in one day, one way or the other
- 35:42Speaker 3: and they're gonna benefit from what I've worked. That's what
- 35:44Speaker 3: we do. That's what you also do, Katie Will. I
- 35:47Speaker 3: mean being a minority, being a very smart female minority.
- 35:52Speaker 3: It's not easy in your business. And we talked about
- 35:55Speaker 3: this off camera, but what you what you do, what
- 35:58Speaker 3: you've done here, it's it's easy and for that, my friend.
- 36:02Speaker 3: I'm proud of you.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I'm proud of you.
- 36:04Speaker 2: And I'm fired up. I feel like i could just
- 36:06Speaker 2: run through a wall. Thank you, Thank you for sharing that. Also,
- 36:09Speaker 2: congratulations to you and Benji on that award.
- 36:11Speaker 1: It is well deserved.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Anyone who has taken a look at how the how
- 36:16Speaker 2: you have grown the Cardinals Spanish radio broadcast in this
- 36:18Speaker 2: organization and just done so much for the Latino community
- 36:21Speaker 2: knows that this is not just very well deserved, but
- 36:23Speaker 2: very long overdue. So proud of you, my friend, and
- 36:26Speaker 2: I'm excited to see you back at the ballpark tomorrow
- 36:29Speaker 2: Friday for what was supposed.
- 36:32Speaker 1: To be a big one, but both these teams.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Kind of well, it is a big one for both
- 36:38Speaker 3: of them because let's just say the Cardinals sweep the Yankees,
- 36:42Speaker 3: they are back in it.
- 36:43Speaker 2: That's exactly something they would do. That is, after losing
- 36:46Speaker 2: to the Rockies, That's exactly what they would do.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Because we play up to the competition, or we played
- 36:50Speaker 3: down to the competition. We go to LA and beat
- 36:53Speaker 3: the Doggers two out of three, Chicago we beat them
- 36:56Speaker 3: two three. Then the Rockies they beat us two three.
- 36:59Speaker 3: What's the most logical thing to happen we beat the
- 37:02Speaker 3: Yankees because they're tight. I just I just hope we
- 37:06Speaker 3: have a last DS as a as an umpire and
- 37:09Speaker 3: then he messes up and then Aaron Bood goes into
- 37:11Speaker 3: the to to argue with him and start doing his thing,
- 37:14Speaker 3: you know, like he did it one day.
- 37:17Speaker 1: A marble. There there's gonna be So I think I think.
- 37:19Speaker 3: That the one and two leading one and two on
- 37:23Speaker 3: injections out, let's go. You see, there you go.
- 37:25Speaker 2: If that doesn't get you excited, please normal because I
- 37:29Speaker 2: have both teams for the athletic this.
- 37:30Speaker 1: This series, which usually never happens. Yeah, but no I have.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I have the Yankees and the Cardinals at the same time.
- 37:36Speaker 2: So guarantee some messed up stuff will happen this weekend.
- 37:40Speaker 2: And if you are looking, of course, when you're a
- 37:42Speaker 2: Cardinals perspective, you see the Yankees coming to town, you're
- 37:44Speaker 2: very excited to see Paul Goldschmit return to Bush Stadium
- 37:48Speaker 2: six years with the Cardinals twenty twenty two m VP
- 37:51Speaker 2: straight up, great dude, Let's keep.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Our fingers crossed for Paul Goldschmidt.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Multiple New York reporters, including the Athletics Brend and cutting
- 37:58Speaker 2: reporting that Paul go Schmith stuff. We're in a low knee,
- 38:01Speaker 2: a low grade right knee strain on Tuesday's game against
- 38:05Speaker 2: the Twins. He did not play Wednesday, and ile stint
- 38:07Speaker 2: could be possible. The team will know more by Friday,
- 38:10Speaker 2: so let's keep our fingers crossed that Goldie makes it
- 38:12Speaker 2: to Saint Louis that he's healthy.
- 38:13Speaker 1: And he's good to go.
- 38:14Speaker 2: That'd be pretty disappointing for the many fans hoping to give.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Him a well deserved standing ovation on Friday.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Hey, we can still clap for him. He doesn't need the.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Cat clop for Goldie.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Calo, my friend, thank you so much
- 38:27Speaker 2: for joining me on this episode's Cardinal Territory. I cannot
- 38:31Speaker 2: say enough good things about you, and we'll be here
- 38:33Speaker 2: for another fifteen minutes if I start, so thanks again.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Excited to break down the last six weeks of the
- 38:38Speaker 2: season with you and to eat some Ted Drews in
- 38:40Speaker 2: the booth.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Can't wait. Go all right, Joys for.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Watching guys, this is the Cardinal Territory. We will talk soon.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Thank
