- 0:16Speaker 2: Brad, Good morning, it's in. Is it warm enough for you? Yes? Okay,
- 0:21Speaker 2: I will, I will admit it is it is.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I think you know we're getting that, uh, the Northwest
- 0:26Speaker 3: flow every once in a while. Now, you know, we
- 0:29Speaker 3: got it last week for a couple of days, and
- 0:31Speaker 3: it's coming this weekend. And that is a good thing.
- 0:34Speaker 3: I like the beginning of August. We always seem to
- 0:37Speaker 3: get those. And the season I think is is going
- 0:41Speaker 3: to change. But yeah, it has been warm enough there.
- 0:45Speaker 3: There were a few times this last few days that
- 0:48Speaker 3: I was I don't have taken.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It back by it.
- 0:55Speaker 1: One thing is great is that all of your automobiles
- 0:58Speaker 1: have air condition That's right and will be a reason
- 1:01Speaker 1: to buy ladies.
- 1:01Speaker 3: And if you want to tell us, hey, I'm coming
- 1:04Speaker 3: in and I want to look at that one, we'll
- 1:06Speaker 3: be happy to pull it up, get it in the shade,
- 1:09Speaker 3: turn on the air conditioning. We can make it really
- 1:12Speaker 3: easy for it for you. It's better in the water
- 1:17Speaker 3: around all of a lot looking at kicking tires right now.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I would that is for sure.
- 1:24Speaker 2: My good friend Todd Edwards is here with me today.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Hello, I'm well, yeah, it's good, but uh, almost the
- 1:33Speaker 3: end of July, and you know, we in the car business,
- 1:36Speaker 3: we live in these months.
- 1:37Speaker 2: And and it's uh, you know, they're.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Starting to get those emails from Toyota telling us that
- 1:43Speaker 3: the month ends tomorrow night.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but uh.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I know it's you guys are getting ready, You're
- 1:53Speaker 3: you're gearing up. You don't you probably have months and
- 1:57Speaker 3: non profit world, but you know that they're a little
- 2:00Speaker 3: different and now you have a big event next week,
- 2:02Speaker 3: so that's probably top of mind for you.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I've been dreaming about it last couple of nights. Yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 4: everything goes right and when when you do sleep, yeah, yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 4: it's funny that goes It's just you know, the community
- 2:15Speaker 4: gives so much. We want to provide a really good
- 2:18Speaker 4: opportunity to have fun, a great night, support a good mission.
- 2:21Speaker 4: So yeah, it's yeah, it's pretty important.
- 2:23Speaker 3: You guys have had great events for a long time.
- 2:25Speaker 3: I mean you have, you know, different events throughout the
- 2:28Speaker 3: year and then but this one in the summer in
- 2:31Speaker 3: August has been kind of evolved this year though, you
- 2:34Speaker 3: guys are taking it to a different kind of event.
- 2:37Speaker 4: We're gonna do the dueling pianos. I'm pumped. I got
- 2:41Speaker 4: to meet uh the one of the pianists that's coming
- 2:44Speaker 4: to the event a couple of days ago, and just
- 2:47Speaker 4: such a talented guy. We've got one guy coming out
- 2:50Speaker 4: from Kansas City and then a local guy from Tulsa
- 2:52Speaker 4: coming down.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Felix and fingers.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Felix and Fingers. Yeah pretty cool. Yeah, yeah, so yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 3: And this is all for a big brother, some big sisters,
- 3:01Speaker 3: local stay wide.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna be here. Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 4: it's here to support the local kids out we're growing
- 3:09Speaker 4: so much, so yeah, yeah, we need the support right now.
- 3:12Speaker 4: We're we're serving more kids than we have in a
- 3:14Speaker 4: really long time. We're already serving more kids than we
- 3:16Speaker 4: served last year.
- 3:18Speaker 2: So that's exciting. It's such a cool program.
- 3:21Speaker 3: The one on one mentoring approach is I know it's
- 3:27Speaker 3: my wife Kimberly does it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: How it is a two way street.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I mean that it's very rewarding, I think hopefully for
- 3:36Speaker 3: both parties and and you know that it's it can
- 3:39Speaker 3: be just this great relationship that develops and kind of
- 3:42Speaker 3: a it's a thing that has a life of its
- 3:45Speaker 3: own or through the years, and it's not like a
- 3:49Speaker 3: you know, one day or even a month or a year.
- 3:54Speaker 3: It goes it starts, goes on. Yeah, and it goes
- 3:57Speaker 3: on for for many years.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Normally.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I've got a lot of friends. I mean they're adults now,
- 4:02Speaker 4: and I just I still talk to my big one
- 4:05Speaker 4: of my good friends. He's going to his big retirement
- 4:08Speaker 4: party now and he's in his thirties. So yeah, these
- 4:10Speaker 4: are lifelong relationships and it does. It just kind of blossoms,
- 4:13Speaker 4: it grows, it's it's it's amazing.
- 4:16Speaker 2: It's cool.
- 4:17Speaker 3: And so tell us about the event. First of all,
- 4:20Speaker 3: it's Saturday, August eighth.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Yep, Saturday August eighth. We're gonna have a full meal melody,
- 4:27Speaker 4: so yeah, excited about it. Chicken out, Freido, dessert, all
- 4:31Speaker 4: that fun stuff, Felix and fingers. Of course, gonna be
- 4:34Speaker 4: gonna be giving us the entertainment. We've got a really
- 4:37Speaker 4: cool silent auction that's gonna be this year. Been working
- 4:39Speaker 4: really hard making sure we had really cool things in
- 4:41Speaker 4: the silent auction. So a lot of a lot of
- 4:43Speaker 4: good things to look forward to.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Melodies did the we had business after hours a few
- 4:48Speaker 3: weeks ago into the Toyota dealership and Melodies did the
- 4:52Speaker 3: catering there. It was outstanding. She does our rotary lunch
- 4:56Speaker 3: every Monday.
- 4:57Speaker 2: And yeah, no, Melodies is awesome. And those desserts are.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Things she does. She's always so sweet. Last year she
- 5:06Speaker 4: cared as well. And she always saves me a little
- 5:08Speaker 4: piece because when you're doing an event, you're running around,
- 5:10Speaker 4: you don't really sit down. She always says, he, I've
- 5:12Speaker 4: saved you a little bit. So she's awesome. I love her.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Yeah, she's great, and she loves to give back and
- 5:18Speaker 3: and the evolved in the community. And so the silent
- 5:23Speaker 3: auction stuff. What do you got going there? What? What
- 5:26Speaker 3: can you tell us?
- 5:27Speaker 4: Lots of golf, excited about a lot of restaurants, a
- 5:30Speaker 4: lot of tastings coming in. I really want to focus
- 5:33Speaker 4: on experiences. I mean, anybody can kind of go down,
- 5:35Speaker 4: kind of get little nicknacky things, you know, So I
- 5:37Speaker 4: wanted really fun things you could look forward to, things
- 5:39Speaker 4: you couldn't get any other place. So lots of experiences
- 5:44Speaker 4: with your friends, the things you can go do with
- 5:46Speaker 4: your friends.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Yeah, one thing, it will be hard to beat me
- 5:50Speaker 4: on the bull in the Alley's doing a really cool
- 5:53Speaker 4: tasting for four. It's just it's a really cool restaurant,
- 5:55Speaker 4: real cool. I'm looking forward to that one. Yeah, it's
- 5:59Speaker 4: a lot of fun things.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That's it.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I probably I put it in Google the first time
- 6:04Speaker 3: we went there, and it took me there. I mean
- 6:07Speaker 3: I was closed, it knew where it was, but I
- 6:09Speaker 3: couldn't figure it out.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a pretty neat experience.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's great.
- 6:15Speaker 3: The so and you've got back to the main program
- 6:19Speaker 3: this Y're also getting ready for the school year. And
- 6:22Speaker 3: I'm sure it kind of evolves as the school year
- 6:25Speaker 3: gets going. Everybody's lives, kids, kids going, and the you know,
- 6:28Speaker 3: sometimes summers are a little different.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so how does that work?
- 6:33Speaker 4: Yeah, back to school is a bit of our our
- 6:35Speaker 4: super Bowl. Time schools are coming in, we usually go
- 6:38Speaker 4: to the back to school nights, re engage with the
- 6:41Speaker 4: kids in the community. Who's interesting because the kids are there,
- 6:43Speaker 4: the parents are there, really get a lot of information
- 6:46Speaker 4: out quickly. And so yeah, we'll probably see our waiting
- 6:49Speaker 4: list spike here pretty soon. That's that's really Typically, it.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Really starts with the kids who say, hey, i'd be
- 6:54Speaker 3: I'd like to be a part of that program, and
- 6:57Speaker 3: and they volunteer first, and then you have you're trying
- 7:00Speaker 3: to match them up with a with a big.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Exactly how it works. Now, We'll bring them in, We'll
- 7:05Speaker 4: do an interview. We'll really find out what's the kid into,
- 7:08Speaker 4: what are they like, what are they not like. We
- 7:10Speaker 4: do the same thing with a volunteer that says, hey,
- 7:12Speaker 4: I'm interested in pouring back into the community. I want
- 7:14Speaker 4: to get back to a kid, We'll ask you the
- 7:16Speaker 4: same things. What are you into, what do you like?
- 7:18Speaker 4: Are you introverted? Are you extroverted? And we find a
- 7:20Speaker 4: kid that's going to match same personalities and just start
- 7:23Speaker 4: that relationship off and then support it the whole time.
- 7:26Speaker 4: We make sure we do monthly check ins and how's
- 7:28Speaker 4: it going? You know, is there anything you have any questions?
- 7:30Speaker 4: Is there any way we can support you so that
- 7:32Speaker 4: you don't fill alone. That's that's kind of the process.
- 7:36Speaker 2: That's awesome, and you know it's gets going.
- 7:40Speaker 3: How do people get involved if they're listening to the show,
- 7:44Speaker 3: let's assume they're potentially a mentor a big How would
- 7:48Speaker 3: they get involved. What's the process for them?
- 7:51Speaker 4: Yeah, the fastest way is to go to our website.
- 7:53Speaker 4: It's big Oklahoma dot org. There'll be a button says
- 7:57Speaker 4: I'm looking to volunteer. It's a really short questionnaire. Then
- 8:01Speaker 4: somebody's gonna call you. Typically is gonna be Daniel, and
- 8:03Speaker 4: then we'll schedule an in person interview. Well, how'd you
- 8:06Speaker 4: come in? Really get to know you, and then we'll
- 8:08Speaker 4: get you on the on the waiting list. At some
- 8:11Speaker 4: point we'll call you, Hey, we have a couple of
- 8:12Speaker 4: kids we think could fit really well, what do you
- 8:15Speaker 4: think about these kids? And kind of go over that,
- 8:17Speaker 4: and then if it looks like a match, we bring
- 8:19Speaker 4: both the volunteer in. We'll bring the kid in. We'll
- 8:22Speaker 4: help you get your first outing set up together and
- 8:24Speaker 4: then kick it off right.
- 8:25Speaker 3: How does the commitment work? How much time is involved
- 8:29Speaker 3: in it?
- 8:30Speaker 2: You know, what are their expectations commitment?
- 8:33Speaker 4: We ask for either one hour a week or two
- 8:35Speaker 4: hours every other week, but very short, you know, two
- 8:39Speaker 4: to four hours a month, and we're really flexible. We
- 8:41Speaker 4: understand things happen summertime gets busy, or I'm gonna be
- 8:44Speaker 4: on vacation for a week, Hey, yeah, just let us know.
- 8:47Speaker 4: But yeah, it's not a huge commitment. We do ask
- 8:49Speaker 4: a minimum time frame of twelve months. That's kind of
- 8:52Speaker 4: what it takes to build that deep relationship and you.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Kind of evolves, right First of all, you're getting to
- 8:59Speaker 3: know each other at first, and then you know, kind
- 9:02Speaker 3: of goes from there. I know a lot of times,
- 9:05Speaker 3: so go do things, go to activities, all kinds of
- 9:09Speaker 3: things going on in the community all the time.
- 9:12Speaker 2: What else do you see?
- 9:13Speaker 3: What are some of the best things that they do together?
- 9:19Speaker 4: Yeah, best things. Just spending time is number one. That's
- 9:22Speaker 4: what kids want so much, just somebody to listen to them.
- 9:25Speaker 4: So if you if you can spend time just listening
- 9:28Speaker 4: to a kid, and that happens just driving in the car.
- 9:31Speaker 4: I have a little brother myself. One thing we love
- 9:35Speaker 4: to do is just cruise around town. We just drive
- 9:37Speaker 4: around and he gets to tell me this is what's
- 9:39Speaker 4: going on or I'm kind of nervous about schools starting,
- 9:42Speaker 4: and just give him a little bit of insight, just
- 9:45Speaker 4: build that confidence for him. So time's number one. But
- 9:48Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, having dinner with them, going out, we
- 9:51Speaker 4: have a lot of great community partners, go bowling with
- 9:54Speaker 4: them or just small things. Take them shopping, if you
- 9:57Speaker 4: want to go buy a car, take them and show
- 9:59Speaker 4: them how to buy a that's a you know, a
- 10:01Speaker 4: great way.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of experiences that you may not have
- 10:06Speaker 3: been exposed to.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what comes up in life.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what you're getting ready for, helping them kind
- 10:14Speaker 3: of develop goals and see where they want to go
- 10:17Speaker 3: in life.
- 10:18Speaker 4: We've got, like I said, lots of great community partners.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Most of most of the events in town. Everybody says, hey,
- 10:23Speaker 4: we're willing to give it free for free tickets for
- 10:25Speaker 4: bigs and littles to go to. So yeah, utilizing those
- 10:29Speaker 4: those free tickets to the shows and letting those littles
- 10:32Speaker 4: experience the arts or a show things like that, that's
- 10:35Speaker 4: really it opens their horizons, shows them maybe what they're
- 10:39Speaker 4: you know, maybe they love something that they've never been
- 10:41Speaker 4: exposed to.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Wow, there's a great program that's been going on here
- 10:46Speaker 3: in part also for a long time.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Yeah, nearly forty years.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Yeah, almost forty years. That's amazing.
- 10:51Speaker 3: And you know it does always need more volunteers, and
- 10:55Speaker 3: you know, it seems like you've always got a waiting
- 10:58Speaker 3: list right now.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Twenty six is currently what's on the waiting list?
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and is it? Do you try to match up
- 11:05Speaker 3: female with female always?
- 11:07Speaker 4: Always? Yeah? Boy, boy, girl girl. The waiting list is
- 11:10Speaker 4: mostly boys right now at this point, there's eighteen boys
- 11:14Speaker 4: currently on the list.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, So if you're a young man out there or
- 11:19Speaker 3: an older man thinking of you know, this sounds cool,
- 11:22Speaker 3: definitely reach out to Todd.
- 11:23Speaker 4: And the last match that we made two days ago,
- 11:29Speaker 4: such a cool story. Kid came in and he lost
- 11:33Speaker 4: his grandpa on Father's Day last year and he kind
- 11:36Speaker 4: of specifically said, you know, I'd like to fill in
- 11:38Speaker 4: that grandpa role. One of the coolest, quirkiest guys came
- 11:42Speaker 4: in and he said, you know, hey, I'm in my
- 11:45Speaker 4: late sixties. I don't know, I'm not a brother, but
- 11:47Speaker 4: I'd love to give back. The News did a story
- 11:51Speaker 4: on him not too long ago. He has the largest
- 11:53Speaker 4: pez collection. But it was just cool to see just
- 11:57Speaker 4: something quirky, something interesting. Able to get those two matched
- 12:01Speaker 4: up and you can tell just hit off beautifully. So yeah,
- 12:05Speaker 4: no matter how old you are, if you're interested you
- 12:07Speaker 4: want to give back, I'm sure there's a kid that
- 12:09Speaker 4: would love to have you a part of their life.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And back to the event again.
- 12:14Speaker 3: It's August eighth, six pm at the Center, great dinner,
- 12:19Speaker 3: silent option, dueling pianos. How do you get tickets? Are
- 12:23Speaker 3: their tickets left?
- 12:24Speaker 4: I guess, yeah, there's a few left. Yeah, there's there's
- 12:26Speaker 4: not very many. There's a few left. Bartlesville Gala dot
- 12:30Speaker 4: org is the best place to go grab tickets and
- 12:32Speaker 4: then yeah, come have a great time.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Awesome and it'll be again August eighth at six pm.
- 12:40Speaker 2: And everybody needs.
- 12:42Speaker 3: To get out there and help support the Big Brothers
- 12:44Speaker 3: and Big Sisters Bartlesville Area group. All the money will
- 12:48Speaker 3: support those relationships and stuff you're developing here in Bartlesville,
- 12:53Speaker 3: and I know it has an impact on our community
- 12:55Speaker 3: and the young folks in town. And really excited to
- 13:00Speaker 3: help you guys out with that again this year done.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Just to thank you.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah no, And we are in the final days of
- 13:06Speaker 3: our push to July, trying to deliver those last few vehicles.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Great deals going on.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Got a great a World Day supply is how we
- 13:19Speaker 3: kind of measure our performance, and we still can't seem
- 13:24Speaker 3: to keep the stuff on the ground that is most popular,
- 13:28Speaker 3: but that doesn't mean we don't have more coming, So
- 13:30Speaker 3: reach out to us if there's something you're looking for.
- 13:32Speaker 3: We do have a good selection now at Tacomas Tundras.
- 13:36Speaker 3: We have several Cameras, Corolla, a couple of four runners available.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You know, more Landcers are coming. We've sold all those.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I thought we were going to have a RAB four
- 13:49Speaker 3: and a Highlander I convention, but they sold yesterday.
- 13:55Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I think I was looking at the state wide performance
- 14:00Speaker 3: that we're all running at about the thirty days supply
- 14:04Speaker 3: something like that, a little bit less of many of us.
- 14:07Speaker 3: So that's just not not a that's not a lot
- 14:10Speaker 3: of cars. So yeah, so it is great to have
- 14:13Speaker 3: a hot product that's in high demand and we are growing.
- 14:19Speaker 3: We're up about fifty percent over the last year year
- 14:22Speaker 3: to date, and that's really credit to the great product
- 14:28Speaker 3: we have and the and the way that our team works.
- 14:30Speaker 3: You know, we do have no dock fees, no very
- 14:34Speaker 3: transparent sales process. We don't do it incentives where if
- 14:40Speaker 3: you do that then you can't have this, or you
- 14:42Speaker 3: do think requirements on how you how you buy a car.
- 14:46Speaker 3: No one wanted dealer add ons that you need to negotiate.
- 14:49Speaker 3: A lot of dealers have gone to this now or
- 14:52Speaker 3: go out of package, and you know, and that's in
- 14:55Speaker 3: the price, and it just kind of changes the.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Dynamic of buying the car.
- 14:59Speaker 3: You may not want that stuff, it may be stuff
- 15:01Speaker 3: you want, just that it should be your choice and
- 15:04Speaker 3: you'll see some things. You know, some folks offer lifetime
- 15:08Speaker 3: warranties that are really a product of We offer the
- 15:13Speaker 3: BG lifetime warranty at the dealership, but we don't advertise
- 15:16Speaker 3: as as it comes with the new cars because there's
- 15:19Speaker 3: a lot of requirements to maintain that. You have to
- 15:22Speaker 3: do the BG services over time to keep the warranty.
- 15:26Speaker 2: And you know that's available to you.
- 15:28Speaker 3: You can do that if you like, and we just
- 15:30Speaker 3: we keep it simple and straightforward. We'll explain everything to you.
- 15:35Speaker 3: We have a great digital retailing tool which is actually
- 15:38Speaker 3: the same tool that the sales management and sales team use.
- 15:43Speaker 3: That's available on our website, so you can go in
- 15:46Speaker 3: and to kind of work your own cardial so you
- 15:50Speaker 3: calculate payments, add your trade, do your credit. Everything is
- 15:56Speaker 3: up there and kind of at your fingertips on the website.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Just allow you to go in.
- 16:00Speaker 3: And you know, if you know, these days, people do
- 16:05Speaker 3: so much research in buying a car, and that's they should,
- 16:09Speaker 3: of course. There's a lot of selection, a lot of
- 16:12Speaker 3: different powertrain choices, different kinds of vehicles, and with the
- 16:17Speaker 3: you know, the price of everything these days, getting a
- 16:21Speaker 3: good deal and the right kind of vehicle, we see
- 16:24Speaker 3: people these days really be an interested in long term
- 16:29Speaker 3: value of the vehicle and you know, not wanting to
- 16:33Speaker 3: spend extra money on the car and being sure that
- 16:36Speaker 3: it's going to have the reliability and value over time.
- 16:40Speaker 3: And Toyota just just knocks it out of the park
- 16:43Speaker 3: in that way. The you know, the resale value on
- 16:46Speaker 3: toyotas it's one of the best resale brands in the market.
- 16:50Speaker 3: We have great incentives, you great leases Toyota because of
- 16:56Speaker 3: the resale value. Leases you know you can and you know,
- 17:00Speaker 3: when you purchase a car, you buy the whole thing.
- 17:03Speaker 3: You know, if you're going to keep it for fifteen
- 17:05Speaker 3: or twenty years, that makes sense, but if you trade
- 17:07Speaker 3: every few years at leasing can allow you just to
- 17:11Speaker 3: buy that part of it that you're going to use,
- 17:14Speaker 3: and you really, you know, can get it for a
- 17:16Speaker 3: significantly lower payment than often you're going to pay, even
- 17:20Speaker 3: with a longer term loan and low interest rates. They
- 17:24Speaker 3: you can get about a half of the payment on
- 17:27Speaker 3: a Tacoma right now, which is really you know, I.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Mean, we see a lot of people making that choice
- 17:34Speaker 2: more than they were a few years ago.
- 17:37Speaker 3: And you know, at leasing, it's not the most popular
- 17:40Speaker 3: thing in our market, I admit that, but it's something
- 17:43Speaker 3: you want to look.
- 17:44Speaker 2: At if your payment driven and wanting to get a
- 17:46Speaker 2: great value for your vehicle in Toyota has great lease programs.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Another thing about dealing at DUNGEUS is our team is
- 17:55Speaker 3: completely noncommissioned. The sales managers and salespeople they're pay is
- 18:00Speaker 3: based on how well they take care of our customers.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And the volume that we sell.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Their team focused, they want to help us reach our
- 18:08Speaker 3: goals as a dealership and that takes a lot of
- 18:11Speaker 3: the pressure out of the car purchase. And we're always
- 18:15Speaker 3: trying to learn from our customers.
- 18:19Speaker 2: You know this.
- 18:20Speaker 3: We're not perfect. We are people, and we sometimes we
- 18:24Speaker 3: may come off wrong. You know, I had a customer
- 18:28Speaker 3: give us a bad review a couple of weeks ago,
- 18:31Speaker 3: and he put it on Google and put it on Facebook.
- 18:34Speaker 3: And we've been trying to reach out to him. I
- 18:36Speaker 3: just remind everybody you know, please communicate with their business.
- 18:41Speaker 3: If they frustrate you, we want to know. If they don't.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I mean, I can't speak for others, but certainly a Dungeons,
- 18:48Speaker 3: if we've done something wrong, we want to know. We
- 18:51Speaker 3: want to understand what we did wrong and how we
- 18:53Speaker 3: can do better. We can't learn unless you tell us.
- 18:57Speaker 3: And it's you know, we know we're not perfect, and
- 19:00Speaker 3: if we drop the ball or do something that comes
- 19:02Speaker 3: off from we certainly want to know it and be
- 19:04Speaker 3: able to work with our team to do better next
- 19:07Speaker 3: time or for the next person. And it's not a
- 19:10Speaker 3: you know, we don't want to judge you or be
- 19:12Speaker 3: defensive about that. It's really from my point of view,
- 19:16Speaker 3: it's super important in how we.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Have survived for all these years.
- 19:21Speaker 3: And you know, our business is hyper competitive, just like
- 19:26Speaker 3: every business in today's world. And we're a small dealership
- 19:30Speaker 3: in one community. We don't have dealerships all over the
- 19:33Speaker 3: country or any you know, there's the only one.
- 19:35Speaker 2: We have here in Barnsville.
- 19:37Speaker 3: And we're family operated, have been for since nineteen twenty
- 19:42Speaker 3: nine now, Todd, and that's a long time. And that
- 19:46Speaker 3: was the Ford dealership. We've got Toyota in nineteen sixty eight.
- 19:50Speaker 3: We're the oldest Toyota dealer at this point in the
- 19:54Speaker 3: state of Oklahoma.
- 19:55Speaker 2: And you know, we just want to be around in.
- 19:58Speaker 3: The future and if we can't do it without our customers,
- 20:02Speaker 3: and so that's what that is.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I wanting to make that point today.
- 20:06Speaker 3: A shout out to the Dungeons Toyota Indians for their
- 20:10Speaker 3: state championship and American Legie in baseball moving on to
- 20:14Speaker 3: the regionals.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Big time stuff. Big time stuff. Been a long time
- 20:19Speaker 2: since we had that kind of success.
- 20:21Speaker 3: It's really really a great testament to the to the
- 20:26Speaker 3: young men that are.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Playing baseball, and to the coaches.
- 20:30Speaker 3: And very young coaches, the home coaches, and we had
- 20:33Speaker 3: them on at the beginning of the season.
- 20:34Speaker 2: They've been pretty busy in the last.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Few months, but it's it's great for those who've been
- 20:40Speaker 3: out to watch them.
- 20:41Speaker 2: You know what I'm talking about. They're really competitive.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Team this year and and they played great in the
- 20:47Speaker 3: state tournament and really are are reaching the peak right
- 20:51Speaker 3: now at the right time. And hope and wish them
- 20:54Speaker 3: success as they move on to regionals and throughout the
- 20:58Speaker 3: hopefully as the rest of this and it keeps going.
- 21:02Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:03Speaker 3: That sponsorship started when my grandfather came to Bartlesville too,
- 21:07Speaker 3: so and we've been recognized by the Guinness Records as
- 21:12Speaker 3: the longest corporate sponsor of a sports team in the
- 21:15Speaker 3: world right there in Bartlesville. The Dungeons family and Dunder
- 21:19Speaker 3: Stealerships sponsoring American Legion Baseball.
- 21:23Speaker 2: And we're really proud of that. And that goes back
- 21:26Speaker 2: to that, you.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Know why I want input from our customers, right, we
- 21:29Speaker 3: can't do stuff like that and stay involved in the
- 21:33Speaker 3: community at the level we do, and we try to
- 21:35Speaker 3: support all the great organizations like the Big Brothers and
- 21:39Speaker 3: Big Sisters, and you know, that's I think is one
- 21:43Speaker 3: of the best things about Bartlesville for a city our size.
- 21:48Speaker 3: You know, we have such strength and resilience and so
- 21:52Speaker 3: many great organizations that you can plug into.
- 21:57Speaker 2: And I know you know that, and you know nonprofit
- 22:01Speaker 2: world here is so it's connected to it.
- 22:05Speaker 3: And and yeah, I love how how that you all
- 22:08Speaker 3: work together, and you know, because it's it's hard. I mean,
- 22:12Speaker 3: it's you know, you you have to all find a
- 22:15Speaker 3: way to raise the money you need to operate and
- 22:18Speaker 3: do what you do Luckily, the community is extremely generous
- 22:22Speaker 3: and I am supporting those that really do make a difference.
- 22:25Speaker 3: And you know, and everybody has their little niche and uh,
- 22:29Speaker 3: you know, and and so much of it is based
- 22:31Speaker 3: on on our young people, on the kids in town
- 22:35Speaker 3: and giving them the support they need to be successful
- 22:39Speaker 3: early in life and then later on.
- 22:41Speaker 2: And a big brothers Big.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Sisters is such a great example of that.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Like you talked about the way that.
- 22:49Speaker 3: These relationships you guys developed can last over a lifetime.
- 22:53Speaker 3: And I I know so many mentors who talk about
- 22:57Speaker 3: their their kids worked.
- 23:00Speaker 2: With and.
- 23:02Speaker 3: How you know, while it's a minimum of a twelve
- 23:05Speaker 3: month commitment, a lot of times it goes a lot.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Longer than our average right now is just over three
- 23:11Speaker 4: years the average.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Yeah, when does it start or when does can a
- 23:15Speaker 3: child become involved?
- 23:17Speaker 2: First?
- 23:18Speaker 4: You you can roll when the child's six years old.
- 23:21Speaker 4: We don't have any neither six. Most of the time
- 23:23Speaker 4: we see him coming in eight, nine, ten, that's kind
- 23:26Speaker 4: of general when it comes in, and then they go
- 23:28Speaker 4: all the way through. We don't kick you out until
- 23:31Speaker 4: you either graduate or nineteen eighteen years old, So whichever's longest.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Okay, And do you have a partnership with the Low
- 23:39Speaker 3: of where there used to be the Low.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Family Scholar, Young Scholars, Young Scholars.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Anybody that's a part of Young Scholars also is a
- 23:46Speaker 4: part of Big Brother, Big Sister. So yeah, part of
- 23:48Speaker 4: Young Scholars is to have a mentor, and we supplied
- 23:51Speaker 4: that part of that.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Okay, and that that connects it on into the college life,
- 23:56Speaker 3: into getting a scholarship funded by the Young Scholars program,
- 24:02Speaker 3: and you know, so we can go in a way
- 24:04Speaker 3: beyond what happens here.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And that's that's.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Another great way you guys partner with other organizations here.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Yeah, like you talked about it, it's a lot about
- 24:16Speaker 4: relationships and people partnering together to make sure how the
- 24:19Speaker 4: kids here in the community have the best opportunity.
- 24:23Speaker 3: And I know you've got a lot of great sponsors,
- 24:25Speaker 3: including Cutterfield Financial Group, which is your presenting sponsor, and
- 24:29Speaker 3: you can't do it without them, and with the other
- 24:32Speaker 3: ones that mention a few of the other upper level.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Sponsors of course.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Yeah, kind of cool Phillips sixty six, the hospital here
- 24:39Speaker 4: in town. Yeah, everybody kind of coming together and just
- 24:42Speaker 4: supporting what we do.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it is so important. The corporate sponsors of this
- 24:49Speaker 3: event and so many other great events in this town.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Make it all possible.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Thank you everybody who's contributed in Emerald Gala again coming
- 24:58Speaker 3: up on August eighth at the Center, go run through
- 25:01Speaker 3: again what people can expect that night.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Come in, have a wonderful dinner, come look at the
- 25:07Speaker 4: silent auction, and then have a blast with the dueling pianos.
- 25:11Speaker 2: All right, time entertainment.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Yep, Oh, I'm excited.
- 25:14Speaker 2: So what's that gonna be?
- 25:16Speaker 3: Like, they're gonna they're gonna they have a planned routine
- 25:20Speaker 3: and the songs they're gonna play for sure, and.
- 25:23Speaker 4: They have two pianos on stage, and then uh, they'll
- 25:26Speaker 4: be you can go and request the song, whatever song
- 25:30Speaker 4: you want. They have a computer. They kind of see
- 25:33Speaker 4: the requests coming in. They'll start throwing them out. We
- 25:36Speaker 4: might they we might pull some people out of the crowd.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Who knows, we'll see that.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Sounds like a lot of fun. You're gonna come to
- 25:43Speaker 2: go down there, Tom, you you can play play the music.
- 25:47Speaker 2: H make noise. I'm gonna make a noise there. You go.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Well, and if you are in the market for a car,
- 25:56Speaker 3: come see us out at the dealership. We're gonna be
- 25:59Speaker 3: like I said in the last couple of days of
- 26:01Speaker 3: July here and then we'll be moving on to August.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Our July and Sin is actually go through Monday night,
- 26:07Speaker 3: but our month end is tomorrow, so we got this
- 26:10Speaker 3: kind of bifurcated month. But it's we've got a great
- 26:14Speaker 3: selection of vehicles, good new and used vehicles too. I
- 26:17Speaker 3: didn't talk much about the used vehicles, but we've got
- 26:20Speaker 3: great selection vehicles of all price ranges and all different
- 26:24Speaker 3: types of vehicles. There's a lot of other stuffing going on.
- 26:29Speaker 3: On the eighth to the Slope Pitch tournament by the
- 26:32Speaker 3: Young Professionals is.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Earlier that day. That'll be fun. We had them on
- 26:36Speaker 2: a few weeks ago.
- 26:37Speaker 3: On the twenty second, we've got Suttonnavian Research having their
- 26:41Speaker 3: Wild Brew.
- 26:43Speaker 2: It is that timing year again and wild Brew is
- 26:46Speaker 2: such a great thing.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Sutton Research Center is another great hidden thing that has
- 26:52Speaker 3: impact around the world, but it is right here in Barrowsville.
- 26:56Speaker 3: So Baritan Sports Spectacular is also coming up on the
- 26:59Speaker 3: to any second, and then Empty Bowls on the twenty
- 27:02Speaker 3: fifth of August.
- 27:03Speaker 2: So lots of stuff happened.
- 27:05Speaker 1: If you say there's nothing going on in this town.
- 27:07Speaker 2: You aren't looking very hard, no doubt.
- 27:10Speaker 3: That's just I try to gather them all up every
- 27:14Speaker 3: week and I miss one every every time.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. It's it's amazing.
- 27:18Speaker 3: So if anybody's out there listening and has something they
- 27:21Speaker 3: want to promote, you, feel free to reach out to me.
- 27:24Speaker 3: We can. We'll try to get you on the show.
- 27:26Speaker 3: We love to bring in guests and we're always looking

- 27:33Speaker 3: the community about what's happening in Bartlesville.
