- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm so torn here, I'm where to start Sal's Weekend
- 0:26Speaker 1: or Sal's Hatred.
- 0:27Speaker 2: For Aaron Rodgers. I just I am so torn. Let's
- 0:32Speaker 2: start with the weekend. What'd you get into this weekend?
- 0:35Speaker 3: So I had to.
- 0:36Speaker 4: It was my daughter's birthday on Thursday, so we committed.
- 0:39Speaker 4: For some reason, I committed, Yeah, because I'm trying.
- 0:41Speaker 3: To be a good dad. I want to make her happy.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Pepa Pig's House, God forbid, there's a Peppa Pig's House
- 0:46Speaker 4: in NYC. No, it's only in Washington, d C. Bluey
- 0:50Speaker 4: Who we saw that's in New York City. Pepa Pig
- 0:52Speaker 4: who my daughter wants to go to. That was the
- 0:54Speaker 4: whole theme, you know, for for her birthday this year.
- 0:56Speaker 3: It's in Washington, d C.
- 0:58Speaker 4: So I instead of driving, I figured the best thing
- 1:00Speaker 4: to do was a train, which actually wasn't bad. But
- 1:03Speaker 4: then when we get there, I didn't realize that, you know,
- 1:05Speaker 4: my daughter's a young kid. You can't get an uber
- 1:08Speaker 4: without a like a car seat. That was a whole issue.
- 1:11Speaker 3: So that took it. Then I had to get in
- 1:12Speaker 3: a camp probably I legally get to the Peppa Pig.
- 1:15Speaker 4: It was just it was it was a day that
- 1:17Speaker 4: was non stop exhausting. And I'm on the train back
- 1:22Speaker 4: and Taylor's texting me pictures from the world's most famous
- 1:26Speaker 4: arena watching the Knicks. And I'm watching a game by
- 1:28Speaker 4: looking over some guy's shoulder on the iPad right, the.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Stream going in and out. That's how I'm consuming the Knicks.
- 1:34Speaker 4: And it shows you the difference to of a single,
- 1:37Speaker 4: non married, no kid's life. First my disaster, Peppa Pig
- 1:41Speaker 4: DC Nicks on a stream on the iPad, on the train,
- 1:44Speaker 4: he's at the garden.
- 1:45Speaker 3: What is wrong with my life?
- 1:46Speaker 2: What a terrible friend?
- 1:48Speaker 1: I mean, he needs to know your situation and know
- 1:50Speaker 1: his situation and not make you jealous of the current
- 1:54Speaker 1: situation he's in, which is unmarried, no children, watching Nicks
- 1:57Speaker 1: and going the Yankee games.
- 1:58Speaker 2: He can't do that to you. He can't.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Yeah, when when I'm going to these games sometimes people
- 2:03Speaker 5: are like, how are you affording these these Nick tickets?
- 2:06Speaker 5: I was like, I don't really have any other responsibilities.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I don't have to go to Pepa BIG's house.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right, you didn't. You don't even want to
- 2:15Speaker 3: know what I spend. It's ridiculous.
- 2:17Speaker 4: The cab rides there, the train ride the upgrade on
- 2:20Speaker 4: the Amtrak because they didn't realize, Like they're like, oh,
- 2:22Speaker 4: you could put a bit in to get business class.
- 2:24Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, well, business class sounds good. I
- 2:25Speaker 4: put a bit in of like fifty bucks per seat.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I didn't realize that it was each way. So when
- 2:30Speaker 4: actually three hundred bucks tacked on to an already four
- 2:33Speaker 4: hundred dollars, say eighty dollars cab rides because they just
- 2:36Speaker 4: need to make sure I get there so we don't
- 2:37Speaker 4: miss the train each way, I would have been better
- 2:39Speaker 4: off going to the garden.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I could have took me and Taylor to the garden.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I see a Peppa big And meanwhile, Tahyrel was like,
- 2:46Speaker 1: wee McMahon, hold run parlays at well, popple ahead.
- 2:55Speaker 5: So I'm assuming we have a lot of fathers that
- 2:57Speaker 5: listen to this show.
- 2:58Speaker 3: How would you rate pep Pig's House?
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean how would I rate it versus how
- 3:04Speaker 4: my daughter would rate it. Here's the thing, you gotta
- 3:06Speaker 4: go based off of how much your daughter loved it.
- 3:08Speaker 4: And she loved it, she doesn't know the difference how
- 3:10Speaker 4: much mommy and daddy spent, how long the day is,
- 3:13Speaker 4: can we go there again someday. Yeah, okay, we'll go
- 3:15Speaker 4: there again someday when daddy's dead. You could take your
- 3:17Speaker 4: kids there. It depends if your daughter or your son
- 3:23Speaker 4: loves Pepa Pig. I would maybe recommend it, but I
- 3:27Speaker 4: would not do it again to travel three hours just
- 3:30Speaker 4: to see that. And it's not even in DC. You
- 3:32Speaker 4: have to go to Virginia. It's like an hour from
- 3:34Speaker 4: downtown d C. Just Just just tell your kid where
- 3:37Speaker 4: whatever sea do you live. Find something to do in
- 3:39Speaker 4: that city, because I would not do that again.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I love that the yellow cab business is leaking so badly.
- 3:45Speaker 2: They're like, hey, no car.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Seat, no problem, but yeah, you're not kidding.
- 3:53Speaker 6: Back there, Hey it was.
- 3:55Speaker 3: It was a lifesaver. I was in trouble man. We
- 3:58Speaker 3: were on a time crunch. Here wait ten minutes to
- 4:01Speaker 3: get the uber. The uber shows up. He's like, oh,
- 4:02Speaker 3: I can't do this. I'm like, what do you mean
- 4:03Speaker 3: you can't do this? I booked, I booked an uber.
- 4:06Speaker 3: We gotta go. We got half hour, I gotta be there.
- 4:08Speaker 3: We show starts at two. Let's go. Yeah. My wife's
- 4:11Speaker 3: complaining because she wants brunch.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Heart.
- 4:13Speaker 3: One thing was I want to sit and relax for
- 4:15Speaker 3: a meal, of course.
- 4:16Speaker 4: But well, I'm sorry that can't happen here because we
- 4:19Speaker 4: got too much stuff going on. We got the play,
- 4:22Speaker 4: we got to get back to catch the train, we
- 4:24Speaker 4: got the dog, came to the dog like, we gotta
- 4:26Speaker 4: get back home. We don't just have the luxury of time.
- 4:29Speaker 4: We can eat tomorrow today.
- 4:30Speaker 2: We can't.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Really.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yes, by the way, Uber probably charge you fifty percent
- 4:34Speaker 1: of that to have just so you know.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Anyway, I couldn't eat some bacon at Peppa Pig's house.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Listen, if she wants to sit down and eat lunch
- 4:40Speaker 1: and relax, you should not.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Have had kids.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, yeah, exactly. Oh it felt rushed. I'm like,
- 4:47Speaker 3: it felt rushy. You look, you had the time.
- 4:50Speaker 4: To eat period, right, But you're right, dude, that is
- 4:52Speaker 4: a I didn't realize that when you cause you when
- 4:55Speaker 4: I go away to the Bahamas or whatever on vacation
- 4:57Speaker 4: and you have like they just or Ruba, they they
- 5:00Speaker 4: put you in the car, no problem. But with an
- 5:02Speaker 4: actual UBER in the United States of America, I guess
- 5:04Speaker 4: you can't illegal to have a kid without a car seat.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Carseat, Uber, you.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Can't pook for another like two hours after the fact.
- 5:11Speaker 4: It's like one hundred bucks.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Yes, United States of America minus Miami. They'll throw your
- 5:16Speaker 1: kid right into a fucking uber and not care. Yes, no, no,
- 5:19Speaker 1: no one, no one down here cares about any sort
- 5:25Speaker 1: of rules or liability issues.
- 5:27Speaker 3: They just.
- 5:30Speaker 2: They just don't.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Last week, when when Sal and Mikey were on, I
- 5:36Speaker 5: was telling them how I was going to take my
- 5:38Speaker 5: Italian uh cousins to an inner Miami soccer game. They
- 5:42Speaker 5: were seven and ten, Yeah, and they were telling me prepare.
- 5:47Speaker 3: For the worst. They they were.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Making it seem seem like I was picking up the
- 5:52Speaker 5: Tasmanian devils the way they were talking, telling me to
- 5:56Speaker 5: pray and just surrender. I pick up the two kids,
- 6:01Speaker 5: and now we have like a forty five minute drive
- 6:02Speaker 5: to the game.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 6:04Speaker 5: The first worry I had was I get there and
- 6:09Speaker 5: their dad, my cousin, was like, hey, they have air
- 6:12Speaker 5: tags on them, and they have a sheet of paper
- 6:16Speaker 5: with our phone numbers.
- 6:17Speaker 3: And now I'm thinking in my head, like.
- 6:18Speaker 2: What are the luggage?
- 6:20Speaker 5: I mean, Jesus, Now in my head, I'm like Sal
- 6:23Speaker 5: and Mikey might have been right, like are these kids
- 6:25Speaker 5: just gonna take off running at like a moment's notice.
- 6:29Speaker 5: We get to the game and I'm like, okay, Mikey
- 6:33Speaker 5: and Sal told me, prepare to not watch any of
- 6:35Speaker 5: the game. They're gonna be getting up, they're gonna be
- 6:36Speaker 5: getting down. I got these two little Italian kids with me.
- 6:40Speaker 5: I say, hey, if you guys need to go to
- 6:42Speaker 5: the bathroom, just let me know. And they looked at
- 6:45Speaker 5: me like I had three heads. They said, we go
- 6:47Speaker 5: to bathroom at halftime.
- 6:48Speaker 3: That's it.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Fans, they don't miss a moment of the action.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Well trained. How about dad? You got lucky right?
- 6:58Speaker 5: So we get to have time and I'm like, man,
- 7:01Speaker 5: these kids have been great. Like now now I'm gonna
- 7:05Speaker 5: reward them and take them to the UH to the store,
- 7:09Speaker 5: to the no to the team store, after the back
- 7:13Speaker 5: and now now I'm racking up points as the cool
- 7:15Speaker 5: cousin because they're looking at me like, man, this guy
- 7:18Speaker 5: is just like us. He just has a debit card
- 7:20Speaker 5: with him. So they're they're going through the store. They're
- 7:23Speaker 5: like can I get this? Can I get this? And
- 7:25Speaker 5: I'm like yeah, yeah, yeah. They're they're picking out like
- 7:28Speaker 5: the messy jerseys I'm looking at. I'm like, damn, that
- 7:30Speaker 5: thing is like one fifty. I'm like, you know what,
- 7:32Speaker 5: you've been good. Grab it, grab it, grab whatever you want.
- 7:34Speaker 5: They're grabbing the Funko pops. And then when I dropped
- 7:37Speaker 5: them off, the dad asked them how it was, and
- 7:40Speaker 5: they were like, Taylor is our best cousin ever.
- 7:47Speaker 2: You should fill out a reimbursement sheet.
- 7:52Speaker 6: All at costume is probably too grand.
- 7:55Speaker 1: To be the best cousin ever.
- 7:58Speaker 6: Congrats for a meaningless time.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 1: But the great thing about Tail Taylor had a great day.
- 8:02Speaker 1: He gets to drop the kids back.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Off, you know. Oh yeah, yes, it's the greatest right.
- 8:07Speaker 3: And and study they have.
- 8:09Speaker 5: They have a little Stu gotts in them because I said, guys,
- 8:13Speaker 5: this should be our new thing. The ten year old
- 8:16Speaker 5: and the seven year old. Once a year we go
- 8:18Speaker 5: to a soccer match together and my chance to spend
- 8:21Speaker 5: time with you guys. I said, where do you guys
- 8:23Speaker 5: want to go next? They said Barcelona? Yes, of course.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I'm proud of them. I love those kids.
- 8:33Speaker 1: They're gonna spend all your money. I mean, they have
- 8:39Speaker 1: identified the coolest cousin ever, how easily he can be bought,
- 8:44Speaker 1: and they're gonna continue to buy your love.
- 8:46Speaker 2: It's unbelievable.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Get to get to Barcelona then and buy some messy
- 8:50Speaker 4: bobbleheads for him and you get to go.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you said, yes, of course, right to Barcelona.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Yeah, we're already planning the trip, are you really?

- 11:03Speaker 2: Are you into the draft? So?
- 11:05Speaker 6: I am?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Like you get excited for it?
- 11:07Speaker 3: I mean it's a.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Tough yes, now it sucks that it's on the same night.
- 11:11Speaker 4: This happened two years ago as well, the Knicks playing
- 11:12Speaker 4: a playoff game Game three in Atlanta, so that same night,
- 11:15Speaker 4: so I'll be distracted with multiple things.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but you focus on Nicks Atlanta. You could just
- 11:18Speaker 2: leave the draft off to the side there.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Correct, I'll have the probably the draft on the iPad. Yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 4: because to me, like you asked you, if I get excited,
- 11:24Speaker 4: I'm more excited after the fact with Okay, who did
- 11:28Speaker 4: they select? Or I guess with specifically the Jets and
- 11:30Speaker 4: Giants picks. There's always intrigue around the storylines, but going
- 11:33Speaker 4: into it for months to talk, I don't get as
- 11:36Speaker 4: amped as everybody else. But now that it's draft week,
- 11:38Speaker 4: I will be into it.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I will be.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Curious to see who the bolt the Jets and Giants
- 11:42Speaker 4: each again stops heard this before. Jets have number two
- 11:45Speaker 4: and sixteen, Giants have number five and ten, So from
- 11:47Speaker 4: that standpoint, there's.
- 11:49Speaker 3: A lot there.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Usually the quarterbacks are a big thing. I know that
- 11:51Speaker 4: that's not the big thing in this draft. So yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 4: I'm into it, maybe just not as much as I
- 11:57Speaker 4: don't know the normal NFL fan, where I think it's
- 12:00Speaker 4: over don a lot.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I think for me and Mikey, it's just it's hope.
- 12:04Speaker 2: That's all it is.
- 12:05Speaker 1: It's it's the one time with the Jets could stumble
- 12:08Speaker 1: into something by simply taking because no one knows right
- 12:11Speaker 1: headed into the draft who's going to be good, who's
- 12:13Speaker 1: going to be great, who's going to be a bust?
- 12:15Speaker 2: No one knows. Okay, we agree on that.
- 12:17Speaker 1: But this is the one time where the Jets could
- 12:19Speaker 1: get lucky, you know, they just they might stumble into
- 12:22Speaker 1: a couple of good players.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I'm not saying we'll make any sort of difference. Those
- 12:25Speaker 2: good players will be gone.
- 12:26Speaker 1: In five years, but they could stumble into a couple
- 12:28Speaker 1: of good players.
- 12:28Speaker 4: So do you think fans are just excited because of
- 12:31Speaker 4: the hope that the draft represents. See, I'm more excited
- 12:34Speaker 4: to see, Okay, who'd they take?
- 12:35Speaker 2: Now?
- 12:35Speaker 4: How would they get a fit and then watch them
- 12:37Speaker 4: play on Sundays, especially if it's not the quarterback, Like
- 12:40Speaker 4: it'd be a different story if the Jets or Giants
- 12:42Speaker 4: this year or whatever team people care about. If you're
- 12:44Speaker 4: taking a quarterback, I think that's the ultimate yes.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Right, So, like how the Raider fans get excited.
- 12:49Speaker 1: They've known about Mendoza for months now, but I guess
- 12:53Speaker 1: something about making it official and seeing them walk up
- 12:56Speaker 1: on the podium and hugging the commissioner and where you know,
- 12:58Speaker 1: has the Raider jersey out that makes you feel good
- 13:01Speaker 1: as a fan.
- 13:01Speaker 2: You got your guy, you know wow.
- 13:04Speaker 4: And then with this draft specifically, it doesn't seem like
- 13:07Speaker 4: there's a lot to be excited about.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Like you mentioned it, we all know Mendoza, and then
- 13:11Speaker 3: beyond that, it's like, huh ar Belle Reeves could be good.
- 13:14Speaker 4: All right, the receivers here, there's some talent there, all right,
- 13:17Speaker 4: Sony Styles or you know downs, Okay, there's some nice players,
- 13:21Speaker 4: but it's not like, oh, well, we need this guy,
- 13:23Speaker 4: or what about like maybe the running back, the Notre
- 13:25Speaker 4: Dame running back is intriguing where he's gonna go. There's
- 13:28Speaker 4: not enough for me, probably because behind Mendoza there aren't
- 13:32Speaker 4: any quarterbacks to anybody really thinks is worthy of a
- 13:34Speaker 4: top top pick. That's probably why I'm maybe lacking a
- 13:37Speaker 4: little bit of interest in it.
- 13:38Speaker 2: No, and you're not alone. I love NFL fans getting
- 13:40Speaker 2: excited about a guard.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Like they have no idea he's gonna be good at
- 13:46Speaker 1: or wide receiver they've never seen play football before.
- 13:49Speaker 8: Go ahead, I judge so many people based on something
- 13:54Speaker 8: I know so little about, like I will judge the
- 13:57Speaker 8: GM based on his pick. I've already made made up
- 14:01Speaker 8: my mind who the Jets should take it to, and
- 14:04Speaker 8: if they take the other guy, I'm gonna be well,
- 14:06Speaker 8: they obviously don't know what they're.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Doing, right of course, Yes, who do you want it to?
- 14:10Speaker 6: What do I want? I want Ree, I don't want
- 14:13Speaker 6: David Bailey.
- 14:14Speaker 3: My favorite. I don't know if I told you what
- 14:15Speaker 3: this guy's before. You know.
- 14:16Speaker 4: I grew up a Falcon fan, and I remember being
- 14:18Speaker 4: at the draft in two thousand and eight in New York.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I was producer for Mike and the Dog, and I
- 14:24Speaker 4: wanted the Falcons with the second pick, second or third pick,
- 14:27Speaker 4: I forget what it was. Anyway, I wanted them to
- 14:29Speaker 4: take Glenn Dorsey in the worst way. Take Dorsey, build
- 14:33Speaker 4: inside out, the Falcons select Matt Ryan. I'm like, like
- 14:37Speaker 4: I was all upset and bothered.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Turned out to be the greatest take in the history
- 14:40Speaker 3: of the franchise.
- 14:41Speaker 4: So that just shows you, well, we don't know anything.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Even with some of the quarterbacks what you know as
- 14:46Speaker 4: a fan? What have Even the teams themselves don't know
- 14:48Speaker 4: how it's gonna turn out.
- 14:49Speaker 2: It's why they don't listen to you. So I mean.
- 14:54Speaker 6: South to that end.
- 14:55Speaker 8: Two thousand and seven, I'm producing my first NFL draft
- 14:58Speaker 8: for our college radio station, and I'm so excited because
- 15:01Speaker 8: the Jets have just traded up to the fourteenth pick,
- 15:04Speaker 8: and I'm.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Going, we did it. We got our guy. Here comes
- 15:08Speaker 6: Brady Quinn. We got Brady Quinn. And they didn't take
- 15:11Speaker 6: Brady Quinn. And I was so mad because they took
- 15:14Speaker 6: some guy Darrell Reebis. I don't that's not sexy.
- 15:18Speaker 2: No, I was so mad.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Did you read Chefter's thing headed into the draft? Did
- 15:26Speaker 1: have you checked that out?
- 15:27Speaker 2: Like he?
- 15:28Speaker 1: Of course because he has AJ Brown going going to
- 15:31Speaker 1: the Patriots.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Aff Oh god, we suck totally ruined the draft.
- 15:40Speaker 5: For me, it feels like AJ Brown to the Patriots
- 15:44Speaker 5: is like the worst kept secret in the NFL right now?
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yes, uh well just physical, Yes.
- 15:51Speaker 4: That's another one of those spots, man, just like I
- 15:53Speaker 4: fell with Dexel Lawrence. When you get into a position
- 15:55Speaker 4: I know, Philadelphia's been great in the recent Super Bowls.
- 15:57Speaker 4: When you get to a spot where you have.
- 15:58Speaker 3: To trade a player of that caliber. That's that's a loss.
- 16:02Speaker 3: They needed to do it because it just wasn't working right.
- 16:04Speaker 3: But still that's I don't.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Care what they get in return or what they do
- 16:08Speaker 4: in addition to making that move.
- 16:10Speaker 2: That is a loss for the Eagles. So what is
- 16:12Speaker 2: going on with you and Aaron Rodgers here? Quickly before
- 16:14Speaker 2: you know.
- 16:14Speaker 3: This, Stut.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I actually like Aaron Rodgers and have been a big
- 16:17Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers fan pre dating his time in New York.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Even with his time in New York, I thought he
- 16:22Speaker 4: had the right mindset. I'm glad he hung on with Pittsburgh.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Enough's enough, dude. It's the same thing every single year.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Oh the Steelers haven't had word about Aaron Rodgers. Oh
- 16:32Speaker 4: stomy if you've heard this before, Like, dude, either retire
- 16:35Speaker 4: or come back. While I'm not like, at some point,
- 16:38Speaker 4: somebody's get enough And it wasn't even good enough last
- 16:41Speaker 4: year to justify this. So again, he's doing the same
- 16:44Speaker 4: thing as he's done for years now, holding teams hostage
- 16:48Speaker 4: because they allow it. The difference is he isn't that
- 16:51Speaker 4: good anymore. So as much as I love Aaron Rodgers,
- 16:53Speaker 4: and I do even I have had enough of the saga.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Good God ended Pittsburgh. Just move on.
- 17:00Speaker 4: So, like the quarterback, let Rogers go not, we're waiting
- 17:03Speaker 4: on word from him. We want his retreats wherever he
- 17:06Speaker 4: is doing ya hyahuasca whatever it's called. Like enough enough
- 17:10Speaker 4: of Aaron Rodgers and the decisions here.
- 17:12Speaker 6: Holy, that's how we started the show.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Listen, I want to go on vacation with him.
- 17:18Speaker 4: I'm not saying I don't I love him.
- 17:20Speaker 3: You want to play golf when I'm going on vacation
- 17:22Speaker 3: with him? But du held no with you.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I've seen him at Tahoe. I mean I haven't played
- 17:32Speaker 2: golf with them, but I mean I see him. I
- 17:34Speaker 2: give him a hug. I tell him I like him.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I'm not certain that I do, but I tell him
- 17:37Speaker 2: I like him.
- 17:37Speaker 3: I do.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I'm like, hey, how you doing just that?
- 17:40Speaker 3: One year? I mean, that's all I thought. Maybe be
- 17:42Speaker 3: talking about one of those retreats that he goes on
- 17:44Speaker 3: with whatever that.
- 17:45Speaker 4: You know, you know, yeah, I mean those hyahuasca Yeah, yeah, okay, right,
- 17:49Speaker 4: So I don't know. But either way, am I wrong
- 17:52Speaker 4: about this? Like him holding them up? And he's even
- 17:54Speaker 4: worth it at the time.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Well, so no, I would say that he's not worth
- 17:58Speaker 1: holding a team hostage. I would also say that the
- 18:01Speaker 1: Steelers are in part to blame there because they're allowing
- 18:03Speaker 1: him to hold the team hostage, you know, which is
- 18:06Speaker 1: odd considering the relationship with him and Mike McCarthy. I
- 18:09Speaker 1: felt like it didn't end very well in Green Bay.
- 18:11Speaker 1: But I guess time heals right and McCarthy is willing
- 18:15Speaker 1: to wait.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Other options they have at that position. He seems to
- 18:19Speaker 1: be the only option and he knows it. But that's
- 18:22Speaker 1: on the Steelers as much as it is.
- 18:23Speaker 2: On Aaron Rodgers. I would say.
- 18:25Speaker 3: That's the thing.
- 18:25Speaker 5: It's like, if Aaron Rodgers doesn't come back. At this point,
- 18:29Speaker 5: it feels like the Steelers are just content being like,
- 18:32Speaker 5: we'll play Will Howard this year, We'll play Mason Rudolph.
- 18:35Speaker 5: See what we have if it is Will Howard and
- 18:38Speaker 5: then worst case scenario, Will Howard, is this terrible quarterback?
- 18:42Speaker 5: And now your position next year for the draft, where
- 18:45Speaker 5: it seems like scouts are a lot higher on the
- 18:47Speaker 5: quarterbacks next year.
- 18:48Speaker 3: It's just always the same story with him at the
- 18:51Speaker 3: same time every single year. Is he isn't he? Is he?
- 18:56Speaker 3: Isn't he? A different teams, same.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Story with Aaron Rodgers. Right.
- 18:59Speaker 1: What makes it even more confusing is you have the team,
- 19:02Speaker 1: a pillar of stability, unable to find stability at the
- 19:05Speaker 1: most important position in sports, and they're allowing it. That's
- 19:08Speaker 1: the crazy thing. So Rogers went there last year, could
- 19:11Speaker 1: it made sense? Right, Let's let's partner up with Tomlin,
- 19:15Speaker 1: great coach, let's see if.
- 19:16Speaker 2: We can get it done.
- 19:17Speaker 1: They got to the playoffs, they lost, right this year,
- 19:19Speaker 1: it makes zero sense, especially from the Steelers standpoint.
- 19:22Speaker 2: You got a new head coach in there. Move on
- 19:24Speaker 2: from the quarterback, you know.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Right, right, or if you want them, say we need
- 19:29Speaker 4: a commitment now, and if not, we're just going to
- 19:30Speaker 4: move on and that's it. I would have been fine
- 19:32Speaker 4: if he came back, but it would have been with
- 19:33Speaker 4: the idea that he's committing to come back and he.
- 19:36Speaker 3: And Rodgers is allowed to do whatever he wants.
- 19:38Speaker 4: So if he wants to drag it out, fine, But
- 19:40Speaker 4: you're right from a Steelers standpoint, that's to me where
- 19:42Speaker 4: I've had enough. He wasn't good enough last year. It's
- 19:44Speaker 4: the same old stuff. Just move if he can't commit,
- 19:46Speaker 4: just move on.
- 19:47Speaker 8: You don't think that he's let them know either way,
- 19:51Speaker 8: Like you know, maybe he hasn't announced it, but you
- 19:53Speaker 8: don't think he's been like, yeah, I'm coming back.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Just think.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I think I think he kind of the ego in him,
- 19:59Speaker 1: kind of he he loves the idea that you know,
- 20:02Speaker 1: at an advanced age, this Aaron Rodgers could still hold
- 20:05Speaker 1: a team hostage.
- 20:06Speaker 2: No, I do not think he has let them know.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I think he's like, what are they fucking crazy?
- 20:12Speaker 5: So when Aaron Rodgers says when he retires, that's it,
- 20:15Speaker 5: you'll never hear from him again, do you believe that?
- 20:19Speaker 3: I actually do?
- 20:20Speaker 2: You know?
- 20:20Speaker 4: I've read his I read the book on him that
- 20:22Speaker 4: I know O'Connor rode a couple of years ago. I
- 20:24Speaker 4: really do love Rogers. I think he's unique, fascinating. I
- 20:28Speaker 4: don't think that he's starved for the attention the way
- 20:31Speaker 4: that some people think that he is. I could be
- 20:33Speaker 4: dead right. I mean I've been wrong before. I could
- 20:36Speaker 4: be dead wrong about it.
- 20:37Speaker 3: I think you will not hear from Aaron Rodgers.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I think when I think Taylor feels this way, when
- 20:42Speaker 1: Rogers says I'm going to retire, retire, you'll never hear
- 20:45Speaker 1: from me again. That's when Aaron's never going to shut
- 20:47Speaker 1: the fuck up, like he's just kidding. I think that's what.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Taylor believes, and I think I'm with him on that.
- 20:53Speaker 1: When a guy says, hey, you'll never hear from me again,
- 20:56Speaker 1: it means you're probably gonna hear a lot from me
- 20:58Speaker 1: moving forward.
- 20:59Speaker 3: The Pat mac for the Show with Aaron Rodgers.
- 21:02Speaker 6: The Aaron Rodgers Show with Pat McAfee correct
