- 1:00SPEAKER_12: That's a good question.
- 1:02SPEAKER_12: Um hectic.
- 1:05SPEAKER_12: It's hectic around here these uh last couple days.
- 1:08SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I noticed because there's nobody home.
- 1:09SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 1:10SPEAKER_12: Well, yeah.
- 1:12SPEAKER_12: So they had.
- 1:15SPEAKER_12: Let's see.
- 1:16SPEAKER_12: Let's back and let's see what I'm talking about.
- 1:18SPEAKER_12: Um my kids are in everything.
- 1:20SPEAKER_12: True.
- 1:21SPEAKER_12: Um.
- 1:22SPEAKER_12: So Eli had a uh track meet scheduled for Saturday, the state track meet.
- 1:29SPEAKER_13: This coming Saturday or last Saturday?
- 1:30SPEAKER_13: Last Saturday.
- 1:31SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 1:31SPEAKER_12: But because of wet supposed weather, they postponed it to today.
- 1:36SPEAKER_13: Oh, okay.
- 1:37SPEAKER_12: So the track field team went down to Isn't it raining today?
- 1:41SPEAKER_12: I don't know.
- 1:42SPEAKER_12: I don't know.
- 1:42SPEAKER_12: They went down to Mount Desert Island.
- 1:45SPEAKER_12: It's four hours away or so.
- 1:47SPEAKER_12: And so my wife went there as well.
- 1:50SPEAKER_12: We like to have at least one parent at every kid's event.
- 1:53SPEAKER_13: Sure.
- 1:54SPEAKER_12: Uh, at all times.
- 1:55SPEAKER_12: So, so she went to that, which means I had and Myra's in uh basketball camp this week.
- 2:02SPEAKER_13: It's a weird week to have basketball camp.
- 2:04SPEAKER_12: Yeah, it's the last week, almost the last week of school.
- 2:05SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 2:06SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 2:06SPEAKER_12: But there it's evening.
- 2:07SPEAKER_12: Is it tiger?
- 2:08SPEAKER_12: Tiger?
- 2:08SPEAKER_12: No, it's Wildcat camp.
- 2:09SPEAKER_12: Oh, it's Wildcat Camp.
- 2:10SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_12: Um would not to be confused with a rustic basketball camp, which comes up in a couple weeks.
- 2:15SPEAKER_12: Is she going to that one too?
- 2:16SPEAKER_12: She's going to that one too.
- 2:17SPEAKER_12: Of course she is.
- 2:17SPEAKER_12: I'm sure she is.
- 2:18SPEAKER_13: Of course she is.
- 2:19SPEAKER_12: Eli's working that one.
- 2:20SPEAKER_12: Oh, he is.
- 2:20SPEAKER_13: Oh, that'd be interesting.
- 2:21SPEAKER_12: Um, so sorry, that was me just there's a piano there.
- 2:26SPEAKER_14: There's a piano.
- 2:26SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
- 2:27SPEAKER_12: Um so yeah, so she was originally going to be the the the younger kids are from or I should say not younger, younger kids, because the really younger kids are like right after school.
- 2:41SPEAKER_12: And then the fifth grade and whatever would be like uh five to seven.
- 2:46SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 2:47SPEAKER_12: And that's the group she was in last time, but I forgot that they moved her up to the older group.
- 2:53SPEAKER_12: She's getting older.
- 2:54SPEAKER_12: Well, she's also tall and and and better than a lot of the kids that than the group that she's in.
- 3:00SPEAKER_12: Oh, okay.
- 3:01SPEAKER_12: So they moved her up to that, so that goes seven to nine.
- 3:05SPEAKER_12: So we were there's a chance that we wouldn't be able to do the podcast because originally she had a track meet today.
- 3:12SPEAKER_12: Oh, but they moved that to tomorrow.
- 3:14SPEAKER_12: Correct.
- 3:15SPEAKER_12: So I reached out to you and I was like, Oh, can I can we do the podcast on Wednesday?
- 3:19SPEAKER_12: And you said, Yeah, sure.
- 3:20SPEAKER_12: Uh yeah, no problem.
- 3:21SPEAKER_13: And then my Well, I couldn't do it yesterday because I had uh lodge.
- 3:25SPEAKER_13: Lodge.
- 3:25SPEAKER_12: I figured it was something like that.
- 3:27SPEAKER_12: And so my wife's like, No, well, no, no, there's a track meet tomorrow.
- 3:30SPEAKER_12: I thought the track meet was today.
- 3:32SPEAKER_12: No, they moved it to tomorrow.
- 3:35SPEAKER_12: Oh.
- 3:36SPEAKER_12: And then I was like, Oh, sorry, Doug.
- 3:38SPEAKER_12: We'll do it, we'll do it tonight.
- 3:40SPEAKER_12: So it's just um it's just me trying to keep my head on straight because you know it's the last week of school and all the kids are bouncing off the walls and they just you know, they not our kids, but uh all kids.
- 3:52SPEAKER_12: All kids.
- 3:52SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 3:53SPEAKER_12: Um so it's just been it's been it's only been two days, but it's been pretty hectic so far.
- 3:57SPEAKER_13: Yeah, sounds it.
- 3:58SPEAKER_12: Yeah, crazy.
- 4:00SPEAKER_12: So yeah, so bear with us.
- 4:02SPEAKER_12: Uh it may be a shorter podcast tonight because I have to go pick up my child because again, my wife is out of town.
- 4:12SPEAKER_14: So you're driving the magic bus.
- 4:14SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 4:15SPEAKER_12: So it's not a bus.
- 4:17SPEAKER_12: But like I told you, uh supposed to go till nine, but when I drop them off, one of the other kids said, Well, my dad said last night it went to 8 30.
- 4:26SPEAKER_14: I was like, You're staying till nine.
- 4:28SPEAKER_14: I hope not, because you're gonna be here till nine.
- 4:31SPEAKER_12: Get used to it.
- 4:33SPEAKER_12: But it may be a shorter podcast today.
- 4:34SPEAKER_12: We'll see.
- 4:35SPEAKER_12: We'll see how it goes.
- 4:36SPEAKER_12: Yeah, it happens.
- 4:36SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 4:37SPEAKER_12: Uh what else is going on?
- 4:40SPEAKER_12: Oh, um Morton told me to make the set list for our October 80s rock gig.
- 4:47SPEAKER_13: I think we did we mention that last week?
- 4:49SPEAKER_13: Didn't I say that?
- 4:50SPEAKER_13: You should make the set list.
- 4:51SPEAKER_12: Well, because I was I was because Joel was supposed to make it, right?
- 4:53SPEAKER_12: Oh, he was.
- 4:54SPEAKER_13: Oh, what did I do?
- 4:54SPEAKER_12: Yeah, well, in that in the thread, uh John's like, I nominate Joel to make to make the set list.
- 4:59SPEAKER_12: But Joel is busier than I am.
- 5:01SPEAKER_13: Well, yeah, he's the principal and superintendent.
- 5:03SPEAKER_12: Exactly.
- 5:04SPEAKER_12: So I talked to Morton um I don't know, yesterday or the day before when when I and uh um he said, Yeah, you know what, uh, would you mind uh giving it a shot?
- 5:18SPEAKER_12: I'm not sure.
- 5:19SPEAKER_12: And I already I so what I did is I I looked in our list of Reverend Funk songs that we've already kind of worked out.
- 5:25SPEAKER_12: There's 38 of those.
- 5:27SPEAKER_12: Oh, okay.
- 5:28SPEAKER_12: That we could do.
- 5:29SPEAKER_12: Um so that's a good thing.
- 5:31SPEAKER_12: Yeah, and if we and if we threw in uh well, you know what?
- 5:34SPEAKER_12: We've never done we have never played uh Tears for Fears out.
- 5:40SPEAKER_12: Everybody wants to rule the world.
- 5:41SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 5:42SPEAKER_12: We could bring that back.
- 5:43SPEAKER_12: I guess that'd be an 80s thing.
- 5:44SPEAKER_13: Well, and then we you when you say bring it back, I'm actually do it.
- 5:47SPEAKER_12: Right, actually do it.
- 5:48SPEAKER_12: Yes.
- 5:49SPEAKER_12: Um so we could do that.
- 5:50SPEAKER_12: But what we're talking about is we talked about it last week, right?
- 5:53SPEAKER_12: Yeah, this this 80s box.
- 5:55SPEAKER_12: Yeah, the cross center.
- 5:56SPEAKER_12: So uh so I will be uh trying to make some sense of a set list.
- 6:03SPEAKER_13: Then you know exactly what you gotta play.
- 6:05SPEAKER_12: Exactly.
- 6:06SPEAKER_12: Yeah you know what I have to relearn.
- 6:08SPEAKER_12: Yes.
- 6:09SPEAKER_12: Uh I don't have my SG anymore, so that anything any way you want it might be to might be difficult.
- 6:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 6:15SPEAKER_12: But whatever.
- 6:16SPEAKER_12: Bah.
- 6:16SPEAKER_12: I might have to buy a new guitar for that.
- 6:18SPEAKER_13: Well, I guess so.
- 6:20SPEAKER_13: Dog on it.
- 6:22SPEAKER_12: By the way, the the the uh meme that I put on your wall.
- 6:26SPEAKER_12: The tattoo thing?
- 6:27SPEAKER_12: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:27SPEAKER_12: That was from my wife.
- 6:29SPEAKER_12: She she sent it to me and she said, You should send this to Doug.
- 6:32SPEAKER_13: Why didn't she send it?
- 6:35SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 6:36SPEAKER_12: But so I did.
- 6:38SPEAKER_12: I sent it to you.
- 6:39SPEAKER_12: Um That was nice.
- 6:40SPEAKER_12: It was nice.
- 6:41SPEAKER_12: Uh, what else is going on?
- 6:44SPEAKER_13: I uh I started watching Downton Abbey.
- 6:47SPEAKER_12: Really?
- 6:49SPEAKER_12: That's okay.
- 6:49SPEAKER_12: It started Okay, hold on.
- 6:51SPEAKER_12: So so I am I am surprised, but I'm not surprised.
- 6:57SPEAKER_12: Because it doesn't it doesn't seem like like It's not my show.
- 7:00SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 7:01SPEAKER_12: But I bet you appreciate it.
- 7:03SPEAKER_12: But it's very historical.
- 7:04SPEAKER_12: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 7:05SPEAKER_13: I enjoy that part.
- 7:06SPEAKER_12: That's what I mean, yeah.
- 7:07SPEAKER_13: But it it's all it's it's free on Amazon Prime.
- 7:10SPEAKER_13: Okay, yeah.
- 7:11SPEAKER_13: Like all six seasons.
- 7:12SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 7:12SPEAKER_13: So I was like, oh.
- 7:14SPEAKER_13: Everybody was talking, because this was a huge ten years ago, whatever it was.
- 7:18SPEAKER_13: Yep.
- 7:18SPEAKER_13: I was like, well, I'll just watch one episode.
- 7:21SPEAKER_13: See, see what it's about.
- 7:22SPEAKER_12: You got hooked.
- 7:23SPEAKER_13: Four episodes later, it's two o'clock in the morning.
- 7:26SPEAKER_13: I'm like, what the f what happened?
- 7:29SPEAKER_12: Why am I suddenly talking like this?
- 7:32SPEAKER_12: That happened to me when I got COVID and I started watching Oh, Yellowstone.
- 7:38SPEAKER_12: Well, not only Yellowstone, Stranger Things.
- 7:41SPEAKER_12: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 7:42SPEAKER_12: Because remember, my my my uh Eli wanted to watch it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 7:46SPEAKER_12: And I was like, I need to preview it.
- 7:47SPEAKER_12: This was what he was I mean, it was a couple years, it was a few years ago.
- 7:50SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 7:50SPEAKER_12: He was a little younger than he is now, and and so I said, I need to watch it.
- 7:54SPEAKER_12: So I started watching it, and I was like, Wow, and then and then it was like I gotta watch, I gotta watch the next episode.
- 7:58SPEAKER_12: Holy cow.
- 7:59SPEAKER_16: Yeah.
- 7:59SPEAKER_12: I gotta watch the next episode.
- 8:01SPEAKER_12: And I got hooked on that.
- 8:02SPEAKER_12: And it you know, it's not my thing.
- 8:05SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 8:05SPEAKER_12: Just like Downton Abbey is not really your thing.
- 8:07SPEAKER_13: It's not my thing, but I got I got sucked into it.
- 8:09SPEAKER_12: Yeah, I got sucked into Stranger Things.
- 8:11SPEAKER_12: I bet I would get sucked into Downton Abbey.
- 8:13SPEAKER_12: You would.
- 8:13SPEAKER_13: It's it's actually it's actually it's very well done, it's very historical, it's very, it's it's very interesting.
- 8:18SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 8:19SPEAKER_13: So I mean, you know, I just I just kept, you know.
- 8:22SPEAKER_13: Because now it started like pre-World War One.
- 8:25SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 8:26SPEAKER_13: And now the war is just over.
- 8:28SPEAKER_13: And I still got four more seasons to go.
- 8:30SPEAKER_13: So I don't know what they're gonna do.
- 8:32SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 8:32SPEAKER_13: I don't you know, I don't know where this is gonna go.
- 8:34SPEAKER_13: So now I'm like, wow.
- 8:36SPEAKER_12: You know what show I also got hooked on one time?
- 8:40SPEAKER_12: This was even more years ago than Stranger Things.
- 8:44SPEAKER_12: Um, we had a free because back when we had Dish, we had a free weekend of Stars, which is a movie movie.
- 8:50SPEAKER_12: Movie and movie channel, yeah.
- 8:52SPEAKER_12: And we got Outlander.
- 8:57SPEAKER_12: I don't know if you've ever heard heard of Outlander.
- 8:59SPEAKER_12: I watched the first episode and and actually my wife and I watched the first episode, and it was really well done.
- 9:07SPEAKER_12: Um never heard of but strange.
- 9:10SPEAKER_12: But not strange, it but kind of an interesting premise.
- 9:13SPEAKER_12: It's it's it's about jumping through time.
- 9:17SPEAKER_12: Uh it's really hard to explain.
- 9:21SPEAKER_12: But here's the thing, we lost stars.
- 9:25SPEAKER_13: So Is that the one with uh Thanos?
- 9:28SPEAKER_12: No.
- 9:29SPEAKER_13: Josh Brolin?
- 9:30SPEAKER_13: No.
- 9:30SPEAKER_13: Which one am I thinking of?
- 9:31SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 9:32SPEAKER_13: Because there's like oh, he's like a rancher and there's like this gigantic hole.
- 9:38SPEAKER_12: Josh Brolin?
- 9:39SPEAKER_13: Yeah, Josh Brolin.
- 9:41SPEAKER_13: He's like a rancher and there's this gigantic hole.
- 9:43SPEAKER_12: Is that outlier?
- 9:44SPEAKER_13: Might be.
- 9:52SPEAKER_13: It's kind of cool, but kind of dumb at the same time, so.
- 9:55SPEAKER_12: I wanna say that's Outlier.
- 9:59SPEAKER_12: Actually, let's just look up Josh Roland.
- 10:01SPEAKER_12: That might be the easiest thing.
- 10:04SPEAKER_12: Josh Roland.
- 10:06SPEAKER_14: Did you know he was in Goonie?
- 10:08SPEAKER_14: I did know that.
- 10:10SPEAKER_14: Those are kind of pictures of him.
- 10:12SPEAKER_14: I don't want pictures of him.
- 10:14SPEAKER_14: I want to know where he what he's been in.
- 10:17SPEAKER_14: Let's see.
- 10:19SPEAKER_12: Outer range.
- 10:21SPEAKER_13: That's what it is, yes.
- 10:22SPEAKER_13: Outer range.
- 10:22SPEAKER_13: That's what it was.
- 10:23SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_12: No, uh let me see if I can explain the anyway.
- 10:27SPEAKER_12: The reason I d I say this is because I got hooked on it.
- 10:31SPEAKER_12: So, like a year later, season one came out on DVD.
- 10:34SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 10:35SPEAKER_12: I bought it.
- 10:36SPEAKER_12: And I've watched like four more episodes.
- 10:39SPEAKER_12: And then season two came out and I bought it.
- 10:42SPEAKER_12: I haven't even watched it.
- 10:43SPEAKER_12: And I have so I have like season one, season two, and I think season four on DVD, and I've seen four episodes.
- 10:49SPEAKER_12: Alright.
- 10:50SPEAKER_12: Because it's a good show.
- 10:51SPEAKER_12: I have no time to watch it.
- 10:55SPEAKER_12: But it's it's let's see if I can explain the premise to you.
- 11:00SPEAKER_12: Um Outlander is a historical drama television series based on the book series, blah blah blah blah.
- 11:07SPEAKER_12: Um it stars these two people, uh, an English former World War II military nurse in Scotland, who in 1945 finds herself transported back in time to 1743.
- 11:22SPEAKER_12: There she encounters, falls in love with, and marries a dashing Highland warrior named Jamie Fraser, a taxman of Clan Fraser of Lovat.
- 11:31SPEAKER_12: Here, Claire becomes embroiled in the Jacobite Rising.
- 11:36SPEAKER_12: The sixteenth episode, first season of the television series is based on the first novel in the series Outlander, and was released two half seasons.
- 11:44SPEAKER_12: Anyway, so so she's from two uh excuse me, 1945 era.
- 11:51SPEAKER_12: And she's with someone.
- 11:52SPEAKER_12: She's like married or or or something with with the husband, but gets tr and gets transported back to 1743 and has to kind of make a life there.
- 12:07SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 12:08SPEAKER_12: And the guy that plays her husband in 1943, there's also a guy in 17 whatever.
- 12:18SPEAKER_12: 1743, the guy that looks like him, that is a soldier or something.
- 12:26SPEAKER_12: And I mean it's it's it's weird, like weirdly laid out, but very well done.
- 12:32SPEAKER_12: Oh, okay.
- 12:33SPEAKER_12: Um and so anyway, uh I I I own like three seasons, but I have I've only watched a couple episodes.
- 12:42SPEAKER_12: So I don't know if I'm gonna hang on to them or if I'm gonna I'll probably watch them when I retire.
- 12:46SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 12:46SPEAKER_12: If they still have DVD players.
- 12:47SPEAKER_13: You'd be like, I'm gonna play this on a record.
- 12:50SPEAKER_12: Speaking of D V D players, you know that we lost our neighbor back in the fall.
- 12:55SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 12:56SPEAKER_12: Um and she was basically another grandmother to our kids.
- 13:00SPEAKER_12: Well, her uh widow brought over he keeps bringing over stuff.
- 13:06SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 13:06SPEAKER_12: Do you do you want this?
- 13:07SPEAKER_12: Because he's cleaning out.
- 13:09SPEAKER_12: He's just trying to.
- 13:10SPEAKER_12: And so he brings over these.
- 13:11SPEAKER_12: That's one of the things that she used to do with our kids is watch movies.
- 13:15SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 13:16SPEAKER_12: So he brings over two boxes of DVDs.
- 13:19SPEAKER_12: And he's like, Do you want these?
- 13:21SPEAKER_12: And I'm like, well, we'll see if the we'll see if the kids want 'em, I guess.
- 13:24SPEAKER_12: You know, because a lot of them were kids movies.
- 13:26SPEAKER_12: Oh, yeah.
- 13:27SPEAKER_12: And I didn't think, you know, they'd want them because they they watch streaming and things like that.
- 13:34SPEAKER_12: Boys, they went head over heels.
- 13:36SPEAKER_12: They're like, I want all the um Land Before Time DVDs, which are the the old dinosaur ones.
- 13:43SPEAKER_12: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:44SPEAKER_12: Land before time.
- 13:45SPEAKER_12: So we gave those to to Jude and Olivia wanted the Barbie uh, you know, that there's uh like a Barbie series, like uh cartoon, right?
- 13:56SPEAKER_12: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:57SPEAKER_12: So so we mailed those to her in a care package, and she's you know, been watching those with her roommates.
- 14:02SPEAKER_12: Right?
- 14:03SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 14:04SPEAKER_12: She's twenty she's twenty-five years old.
- 14:06SPEAKER_12: You know, and Jude, Jude took a box of DVDs with him back to New Hampshire, and he shares our Amazon account or uses our Amazon account, and I noticed he ordered a DVD case.
- 14:22SPEAKER_12: So he's gonna put them all in a DVD case.
- 14:24SPEAKER_12: I was like, well, that's kind of cool.
- 14:26SPEAKER_12: There you know, it's I guess it's a way to keep you know, Diana with him.
- 14:29SPEAKER_12: Oh sure, yeah.
- 14:30SPEAKER_12: You know, so because uh he didn't get to go to her funeral, but he did go to her committal um um back a couple weeks ago.
- 14:39SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 14:39SPEAKER_12: So but I just thought that was kind of cool, kind of odd, but kind of cool that they really, really went went out for those DVDs.
- 14:46SPEAKER_13: That's good.
- 14:47SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah, that's it.
- 14:48SPEAKER_13: It was cool.
- 14:49SPEAKER_12: Uh what else?
- 14:53SPEAKER_12: Shh going on with us.

- 15:56SPEAKER_12: Because you know he's been on tour as Alice Cooper, but he's had Nita Strauss on guitar and he's had a couple other people, you know, with the band, and they I think that band still exists.
- 16:05SPEAKER_12: But you know, when you get Alice Cooper's age, you know, you you can do whatever you want.
- 16:11SPEAKER_13: Yeah, amazing, yeah.
- 16:12SPEAKER_12: And it's nice to change things up.

- 16:25SPEAKER_12: Nice.
- 16:25SPEAKER_12: Uh and it's all the surviving members uh of the band.
- 16:30SPEAKER_12: Um late guitarist Glenn Buxton has also heard on the song What Happened to You, which was written using demo riffs he'd recorded.
- 16:37SPEAKER_12: There's so much you can do.

- 17:09SPEAKER_12: That's wild.
- 18:38SPEAKER_12: First reaction.
- 18:40SPEAKER_13: It's pretty good.
- 18:42SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I mean I There's nothing nothing spectacular.

- 18:50SPEAKER_12: I mean I like Alice Cooper for what it is.
- 18:52SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 18:53SPEAKER_12: Uh um.
- 18:56SPEAKER_12: And I think just for your information, because we're watching the video, and he's laying down the vocal with his arms crossed.
- 19:03SPEAKER_12: Yeah, it's gotta be a scratch vocal.
- 19:05SPEAKER_13: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 19:06SPEAKER_12: I'm sorry, just yeah, because he's not putting any effort into it.
- 19:09SPEAKER_13: You can tell, yeah.
- 19:10SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 19:11SPEAKER_12: But uh the band sounds tight.

- 21:04SPEAKER_12: Steve is like my go-to name.
- 21:05SPEAKER_12: It was, it was Steve.

- 21:59SPEAKER_12: I have always thought That Mike Campbell sounds like Tom Petty.
- 22:02SPEAKER_12: Yeah, he really does.
- 22:03SPEAKER_12: When he sings.
- 22:03SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_13: Well, I think it's because he got his teeth fixed.
- 22:07SPEAKER_12: You think so?
- 22:08SPEAKER_13: Well, you remember when he f was originally with the teeth?
- 22:11SPEAKER_12: Yeah, yeah, his teeth were pushed, pushed in.
- 22:13SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah, they were terrible.
- 22:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 22:14SPEAKER_13: And now that he's got money.
- 22:16SPEAKER_12: Yeah, he fixes his teeth.
- 22:17SPEAKER_13: He fixed his teeth.
- 22:17SPEAKER_13: Now he's he now he sounds like Tom Petty.
- 22:19SPEAKER_13: So I think he went to Tom Petty's dentist.
- 22:21SPEAKER_12: Maybe.
- 22:22SPEAKER_13: We don't know.
- 22:23SPEAKER_13: I think it's a conspiracy theory.
- 22:26SPEAKER_13: There was I'm putting that up with the John Lennon working for the CIA one.
- 22:30SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 22:30SPEAKER_13: So.
- 22:31SPEAKER_12: So there's a song.
- 22:33SPEAKER_12: Actually, there's quite a few songs, but um there's one of my favorite Tom Petty albums, which is not everybody else's favorite, the Tom Petty album.
- 22:42SPEAKER_12: And I don't think it's on here.
- 22:44SPEAKER_12: It's a Heartbreaker's album.
- 22:45SPEAKER_12: Um was Echo.
- 22:49SPEAKER_12: And I love that album.
- 22:50SPEAKER_12: I really, really do.
- 22:52SPEAKER_12: Um there is a let's see.
- 22:56SPEAKER_12: I think it's this one.
- 22:57SPEAKER_12: I don't want to fight.
- 23:01SPEAKER_12: Let's see.
- 23:05SPEAKER_12: Anyway.
- 23:07SPEAKER_12: Um Mike Campbell does a lot of the harmony vocals.
- 23:12SPEAKER_12: And I always thought it was Tom Petty singing with himself.
- 23:16SPEAKER_12: Like tracking himself.
- 23:17SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 23:18SPEAKER_12: Uh let me just give you an example here.
- 23:20SPEAKER_12: This is this is Billy the Kid.
- 23:26SPEAKER_12: I love this album.
- 23:32SPEAKER_13: Was this before or after Wildflowers?

- 23:56SPEAKER_11: Listen to the vocals.
- 24:20SPEAKER_13: Was that Mike Campbell singing?
- 24:22SPEAKER_12: Or was that Tom Padding?
- 24:23SPEAKER_12: I don't know.
- 24:23SPEAKER_12: Or was that Tom Peter?
- 24:24SPEAKER_13: I assumed it was Tom Petty, or was Mike Campbell doing a really good Tom Petty video?
- 24:28SPEAKER_12: I have also always thought that it was Tom Petty singing.
- 24:32SPEAKER_12: It could be.
- 24:34SPEAKER_12: Who sings that song?
- 24:35SPEAKER_14: Who sings it?
- 24:37SPEAKER_12: Fight by Tom Petty.
- 24:44SPEAKER_12: I had always assumed it was Petty singing.
- 24:49SPEAKER_12: I know Campbell wrote it.
- 24:55SPEAKER_12: This is a rare Tom Petty in the Heartbreakers track on which Petty doesn't sing lead.
- 24:59SPEAKER_12: Oh.
- 25:00SPEAKER_12: His guitarist Mike Campbell handles the vocals.
- 25:03SPEAKER_12: So knowing that, let's just listen to that again, and you tell me that doesn't sound like Tom Petty.
- 25:10SPEAKER_16: What?
- 25:13SPEAKER_13: Right?
- 25:14SPEAKER_13: You couldn't have got it by I would assumed it was Tom Petty.
- 25:21SPEAKER_12: Doesn't that sound just like Tom Petty?
- 25:24SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 25:27SPEAKER_12: I mean, I knew he wrote it, but I guess I didn't I didn't put that together.
- 25:31SPEAKER_12: Anyway, uh his band The Dirty Knobs have have put up this song called Heart of the Heartland, so let's hear that now.

- 27:37SPEAKER_16: Yep.
- 27:38SPEAKER_12: Yep.
- 27:39SPEAKER_12: But it's it's nostalgic, and it's he's he's remembering.
- 27:42SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 27:42SPEAKER_13: I didn't think he was I didn't I thought he was from Florida like the rest of them.

- 27:47SPEAKER_13: I I assumed he was, because that's where they got their start, but it's it sounds like he's from the Midwest.
- 27:53SPEAKER_13: It sounds like he's reminiscing.
- 27:54SPEAKER_12: Well no, because uh Petty did a uh Petty did an album uh about the Midwest.
- 28:00SPEAKER_12: Hard Promises, I think.
- 28:02SPEAKER_12: Or something like that.
- 28:03SPEAKER_12: Um but yeah, they're I think they're from Florida.
- 28:05SPEAKER_13: Pretty sure that's what I assumed.

- 28:48SPEAKER_12: Um Tom Petty did a few of those.
- 28:50SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah, he yeah, he was pretty famous for that.
- 28:53SPEAKER_12: Yep.
- 28:53SPEAKER_12: I think uh Mike Campbell's kind of carrying on the whole Tom Petty thing.
- 28:56SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 28:57SPEAKER_12: You know, so that's that's kind of cool.
- 28:59SPEAKER_12: I mean nobody can replace Tom Petty, but Oh, absolutely not.
- 29:02SPEAKER_12: But did I replay you?

- 34:34SPEAKER_12: But I don't play.
- 34:35SPEAKER_12: You put the minute you put this song on, he'd start and I'd have to dance with him.
- 34:40SPEAKER_12: Like in front of the speakers and something.
- 34:42SPEAKER_12: And it calmed him down.
- 34:44SPEAKER_02: But I can't stay.
- 34:45SPEAKER_12: But to this day, it gives my wife hives because it would be like one o'clock in the morning and she'd hear this CD come on.
- 34:55SPEAKER_12: What are you doing?
- 34:56SPEAKER_12: Don't play that again.
- 35:00SPEAKER_12: But it's good.
- 35:01SPEAKER_12: I mean, it's it's I'll show you.
- 35:04SPEAKER_12: I don't know why I'm I don't know why I'm sharing, but uh it's just you know, you got me thinking about Jude and stuff.
- 35:11SPEAKER_13: I was a colicky baby too, so were you?
- 35:13SPEAKER_13: I feel that, yeah.
- 35:14SPEAKER_12: Were you?
- 35:15SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 35:16SPEAKER_12: Well Jude was one of those guys, one of those those babies that just you know, you look at him the wrong way and he puked on you.
- 35:22SPEAKER_12: I mean, it was like like like projectile.
- 35:26SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 35:26SPEAKER_12: I don't think I was that bad.
- 35:27SPEAKER_12: No, he was he was bad.
- 35:28SPEAKER_12: He was bad.
- 35:29SPEAKER_12: Um but you know, now he's now he's a lawyer.
- 35:34SPEAKER_12: Almost.
- 35:35SPEAKER_12: Look at that.
- 35:36SPEAKER_12: So it kind of works itself out.
- 35:37SPEAKER_14: Look at that! Calicky people do become successful.
- 35:42SPEAKER_14: The more you know.
- 35:42SPEAKER_14: The more you know.
- 35:43SPEAKER_12: Uh let's see.
- 35:45SPEAKER_12: That's all I got, dude.
- 35:46SPEAKER_12: Uh trying to think.
- 35:48SPEAKER_12: Um Do you have anything else?
- 35:50SPEAKER_13: I got nothing.
- 35:51SPEAKER_12: You got nothing?
- 35:52SPEAKER_13: I got nothing, man.
- 35:54SPEAKER_13: So I did download the uh new Doobie Brothers album.
- 35:57SPEAKER_13: Oh, and I haven't heard it yet.
- 35:58SPEAKER_13: I haven't listened to it yet.
- 35:59SPEAKER_13: Oh.
- 36:00SPEAKER_13: Because when I download it, it doesn't automatically go into my iTunes.
- 36:04SPEAKER_13: I have to wait.
- 36:05SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 36:06SPEAKER_13: If I it's like buying a gun.
- 36:08SPEAKER_13: I have to wait like three days.
- 36:10SPEAKER_13: I will tell you.
- 36:11SPEAKER_13: I think I have to be approved to listen to uh something on iTunes.
- 36:16SPEAKER_12: I will tell you, I I cannot stand streaming these days.
- 36:20SPEAKER_12: You know, I uh and I just don't I don't like the way I listen to music.
- 36:25SPEAKER_12: We've talked about this before.
- 36:26SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 36:27SPEAKER_12: But I got the new album from uh Dan Huff, who's a guitar player fantastic guitar player, former session player, and was in a couple of bands.
- 36:35SPEAKER_12: Now he's a big time producer in Nashville.
- 36:37SPEAKER_12: But he f put out his first solo guitar album.
- 36:40SPEAKER_12: It's all guitar stuff.
- 36:42SPEAKER_12: I downloaded it.
- 36:43SPEAKER_12: I listened to a couple of the tracks that are awesome.
- 36:46SPEAKER_12: I haven't listened to the whole album yet.
- 36:48SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 36:49SPEAKER_12: You know, I used to listen to the albums front to back when I would get them.
- 36:53SPEAKER_12: If I had the C D I would l I would put it in my car and I would listen to it.
- 36:58SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 36:58SPEAKER_12: But I don't have access to the album unless I I don't know.
- 37:04SPEAKER_12: Unless I Well, you don't have a C D player in your video.
- 37:07SPEAKER_12: Exactly.
- 37:07SPEAKER_12: That that doesn't help me.
- 37:09SPEAKER_12: So that doesn't help me listen listen to full albums anymore.
- 37:12SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 37:13SPEAKER_12: Uh which is is a bummer.
- 37:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 37:15SPEAKER_13: And you ha you like you said, you haven't listened to the new Doobie Brothers yet, so I just I didn't tell you, but I do this thing where it like it it like waits like six hours, eight hours before it actually gets into your Yeah.
- 37:26SPEAKER_12: And there's there was uh there were I read something recently that Amazon was doing a thing where, you know, when you buy like say you buy a movie on Amazon.
- 37:41SPEAKER_12: Like a like a digital movie You can't you you can't download it.
- 37:51SPEAKER_12: You can only watch it on Amazon.
- 37:54SPEAKER_13: Yeah, that's not a good thing.
- 37:55SPEAKER_12: Right, but you so you don't own it.
- 37:59SPEAKER_13: Well you own it as long as you have Amazon.
- 38:02SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 38:02SPEAKER_13: It's in your library, quote unquote.
- 38:05SPEAKER_12: Right, but Amazon still owns it.
- 38:07SPEAKER_13: Of course they do.
- 38:08SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 38:08SPEAKER_13: They own everything.
- 38:09SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 38:09SPEAKER_12: So all the music.
- 38:10SPEAKER_13: Jeff Bezos is just sending people into space and owning movies.
- 38:14SPEAKER_12: I mean, that's what he does.
- 38:15SPEAKER_12: So all the music that I have downloaded from Amazon.
- 38:19SPEAKER_12: Uh belongs to Jeff.
- 38:21SPEAKER_12: Belongs to Jeff Bezos, basically.
- 38:23SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 38:24SPEAKER_12: That's just crazy.
- 38:26SPEAKER_13: Welcome to our world.
- 38:28SPEAKER_12: It's crazy, man.
- 38:30SPEAKER_12: It is crazy.
- 38:31SPEAKER_12: So silly.
- 38:32SPEAKER_12: You know what else is crazy?
- 38:33SPEAKER_12: You know what?
- 38:34SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah.
- 38:36SPEAKER_15: Big step.
- 38:39SPEAKER_15: Yeah, baby.
- 38:44SPEAKER_12: So, so we're gonna do the past first.
- 38:48SPEAKER_12: So I will refrain from refrain from saying what I was gonna say until we get to uh present.
- 38:56SPEAKER_13: Okay, so last week was the Bachelorette thing.
- 39:00SPEAKER_13: So let me uh bring up what our lovely and super.
- 39:06SPEAKER_12: I think I picked like Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood or something like that.
- 39:09SPEAKER_13: So this is what she said.
- 39:11SPEAKER_13: This week's picks were great, and I'm pretty sure they would all be found on a mixtape for a bachelorette party.
- 39:16SPEAKER_13: It was a hard pick between all though.
- 39:19SPEAKER_13: Definitely between girls just wanna have fun and sugar.
- 39:22SPEAKER_13: But I went with girls just wanna have fun.
- 39:24SPEAKER_13: I love that song.
- 39:25SPEAKER_12: So it's pretty simple.
- 39:27SPEAKER_12: Yeah, easy peasy.
- 39:29SPEAKER_12: Okay, so this week's question was your favorite song from a movie soundtrack.
- 39:35SPEAKER_12: Alright, and we've had this discussion before because you I remember you chose something that I didn't consider a song.
- 39:43SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 39:43SPEAKER_12: And so you said it's a piece of music.
- 39:46SPEAKER_12: Right, it's like it's a song.
- 39:47SPEAKER_12: Well, so okay, so so knowing that, I picked a piece of music.
- 39:51SPEAKER_12: So we'll get to mine in a second.
- 39:52SPEAKER_12: So what is what is So you picked a song?
- 39:56SPEAKER_15: I'm not playing this game.
- 39:58SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 39:58SPEAKER_15: It's a song! Okay.
- 40:01SPEAKER_13: It's a song! Shut up.
- 40:07SPEAKER_13: Oh, by the way, Cousin Larry says, It's a song! I don't think he did.
- 40:12SPEAKER_13: No, he didn't.
- 40:14SPEAKER_13: Okay, so Cousin Larry said, mixed it.
- 40:17SPEAKER_13: There are more soundtracks than I can remember.
- 40:19SPEAKER_13: I love Iron Man 2 as a because I'm a huge ACDC fan.
- 40:23SPEAKER_13: Foot Loose is another great one, and the Forrest Gump soundtrack is outstanding.
- 40:27SPEAKER_13: But if I'm picking a favorite, it's gotta be I'm Alright by Kenny Loggins from the Caddyshack soundtrack.
- 40:32SPEAKER_13: Be the ball, be the ball.
- 40:34SPEAKER_13: So I'm going with that one for me.
- 40:36SPEAKER_12: That's a good that's it.
- 40:37SPEAKER_12: That's a good tune.
- 40:37SPEAKER_12: Oh, I have to hold on.
- 40:39SPEAKER_12: My controls are my controls are out of control.
- 40:44SPEAKER_12: Oh no.
- 40:45SPEAKER_12: Oh no.
- 40:45SPEAKER_12: Okay, let's do it.
- 40:46SPEAKER_08: It's crazy.
- 41:03SPEAKER_12: I would agree with this.
- 41:03SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 41:04SPEAKER_12: I like this better than Footloose, actually.
- 41:05SPEAKER_12: Oh heck.
- 41:06SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 41:09SPEAKER_13: We've played it so many times.
- 41:11SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah.
- 41:11SPEAKER_11: It's kind of like uh But this one just is it's fun.
- 41:19SPEAKER_12: He did a song on Katechak 2 as well.
- 41:22SPEAKER_12: Probably, yeah.
- 41:23SPEAKER_12: Uh what was it called?
- 41:24SPEAKER_12: Uh Well, if it came out in the 80s, Kenny Loggins had something to do with it.
- 41:28SPEAKER_12: If it came out in the 80s and it was a movie, then Kenny Loggins probably had something to do with it.
- 41:31SPEAKER_13: Yeah, he probably had a song on there.
- 41:33SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 41:36SPEAKER_12: Alright, what'd you do?
- 41:37SPEAKER_13: I did uh Phantom of the Opera off the original cast recording album.
- 41:45SPEAKER_12: Not that I don't like the.
- 41:46SPEAKER_12: So not a song?
- 41:48SPEAKER_12: I'm just kidding.
- 41:49SPEAKER_12: It's a song! I'm just kidding.
- 41:51SPEAKER_12: Jerk?
- 41:52SPEAKER_12: The actual song?
- 41:53SPEAKER_12: Phantom of the Opera?
- 41:55SPEAKER_12: Correct.
- 41:56SPEAKER_12: Let's see.
- 41:58SPEAKER_12: Let's see if I can if I if I type that into it.
- 42:00SPEAKER_12: That's the one right there.
- 42:01SPEAKER_12: That's the one right there.
- 42:02SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 42:03SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 42:12SPEAKER_12: No, I've never seen this.
- 42:14SPEAKER_12: Dude, it is my favorite musical of all time.
- 42:17SPEAKER_12: I had I also had this discussion today.
- 42:19SPEAKER_12: It's it's it's really hold on.
- 42:28SPEAKER_13: This is Sarah Evans.
- 42:31SPEAKER_13: Love her voice.
- 42:33SPEAKER_13: Sarah Evans?
- 42:34SPEAKER_13: I think that's her name.
- 42:36SPEAKER_13: Sarah.
- 42:37SPEAKER_13: Sarah Bright?
- 42:38SPEAKER_13: Sarah Bright.
- 42:38SPEAKER_13: Sarah Bright.
- 42:39SPEAKER_13: Sorry.
- 42:40SPEAKER_13: Sarah Evans is the country singer.
- 42:41SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 42:41SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 42:41SPEAKER_13: I was like, I don't think this is Sarah Evans.
- 42:43SPEAKER_13: Sorry, dude.
- 42:44SPEAKER_13: Sarah Brightman.
- 42:45SPEAKER_13: Brightman, yes.
- 42:46SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 42:49SPEAKER_13: Um.
- 42:50SPEAKER_13: See, I I it was between this one and, of course, the one that uh um Leonidas did.
- 42:58SPEAKER_13: The new version.
- 42:59SPEAKER_13: The what did Gerard Butler.
- 43:02SPEAKER_13: He played Leonidas in 300.
- 43:04SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 43:04SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 43:05SPEAKER_13: He was a he was the Phantom in the new, the remake.
- 43:07SPEAKER_13: Oh, was he?
- 43:08SPEAKER_13: I didn't know that.
- 43:08SPEAKER_13: Yeah, he was actually pretty great.
- 43:10SPEAKER_13: I didn't even know he could sing.
- 43:11SPEAKER_12: Well, here's here's what I was gonna say.
- 43:13SPEAKER_12: I've had this discussion with my students as well.
- 43:15SPEAKER_12: Uh, only briefly because otherwise they would like chop my head off or something.
- 43:21SPEAKER_12: Um, I'm a music teacher.
- 43:23SPEAKER_12: I hate musicals.
- 43:25SPEAKER_12: Well, that's because they're not realistic.
- 43:27SPEAKER_12: Yeah, but yeah.
- 43:29SPEAKER_13: And I I just I don't like I mean, musicals are crazy when you think about it because you you randomly start a song somewhere and everybody around you knows all the words and all the dance steps to it.
- 43:45SPEAKER_13: I mean, yeah.
- 43:46SPEAKER_13: That never happens when I go to Walmart.
- 43:50SPEAKER_12: So Yeah, you know, I like I appreciate musicals and there's a the I enjoy the occasional musicals, especially the ones that my kids are in.
- 43:57SPEAKER_12: Oh sure.
- 43:58SPEAKER_12: Um and and I just uh I just I remember um I don't want to get into it, but you know, I mean I like grease, you know, things like that.
- 44:08SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 44:08SPEAKER_12: But like musicals, musicals, I I can't do it.
- 44:12SPEAKER_12: I can't do it.
- 44:13SPEAKER_13: Well you can do this one. 'Cause it's it's you know, 'cause there's action, you know, he lives in an opera house and he wears a mask.
- 44:22SPEAKER_13: It's it's kind of creepy.
- 44:24SPEAKER_13: That's I that's why I like it.
- 44:25SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 44:27SPEAKER_13: I always thought if I was ever in a musical, that's what I would do.
- 44:30SPEAKER_13: I would be the phantom.
- 44:31SPEAKER_13: Phantom of the opera.
- 44:32SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 44:32SPEAKER_13: I'd like to be I'd like to be the because always it's always fun to be the bad guy.
- 44:37SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 44:38SPEAKER_13: And he's not really the bad guy, but it's more fun to play the bad guy than the good guy.
- 44:42SPEAKER_13: I mean, who d I mean Star Wars, everybody loves Darth Vader, but he's the bad guy.
- 44:46SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 44:47SPEAKER_13: But everybody loves him, you know.
- 44:48SPEAKER_13: So what you know, what am I what do you know?
- 44:51SPEAKER_15: Come on, come on, I mean, come on, come on.
- 44:53SPEAKER_12: All right, you ready for mine?
- 44:54SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 44:55SPEAKER_12: All right.
- 44:55SPEAKER_12: It's a song.
- 44:56SPEAKER_12: It's not a song, it's a piece of music.
- 44:58SPEAKER_13: It's a song.
- 44:59SPEAKER_13: Oh, yeah, this is a good one.
- 45:02unknown: Gotta be quiet.
- 45:04SPEAKER_13: Yeah, from Platoon.
- 45:35SPEAKER_12: I will stop myself wherever I am.
- 45:38SPEAKER_13: If I hear Yeah, you just gotta you know you gotta just just shut down.
- 45:43SPEAKER_12: Like if I'm listening to if I happen to be listening to public radio and this comes on, I pull over and listen to it, if I'm able to, because this is so this is beautiful, it's a beautiful song.
- 45:55SPEAKER_12: This is my absolute favorite piece of classical music.
- 45:58SPEAKER_12: Samuel Barber, Adagio for Strings, and yes, you were right.
- 46:02SPEAKER_12: It's it was used in Oliver Stone's movie, the uh just Platoon.
- 46:05SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 46:06SPEAKER_12: Uh very effectively.
- 46:08SPEAKER_12: Oh yes.
- 46:08SPEAKER_12: Yeah, very effectively.
- 46:09SPEAKER_13: I mean, that that scene is like that whole part is burned into my head.
- 46:13SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 46:14SPEAKER_13: But it's so of course when I saw it originally, I was sitting in the front row.
- 46:20SPEAKER_13: So it was like, you were there.
- 46:22SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 46:22SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 46:23SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 46:23SPEAKER_13: We were sitting in the front row, and we were all just like, oh yeah.
- 46:26SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 46:27SPEAKER_12: Um, it's so emotional.
- 46:29SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 46:29SPEAKER_12: And if you listen to it with headphones, um, it's even more powerful.
- 46:34SPEAKER_12: Now, so it builds.
- 46:40SPEAKER_12: What happened there?
- 46:48SPEAKER_12: Or who put vodka in this in it?
- 46:53SPEAKER_12: Goodness gracious.
- 46:56SPEAKER_12: So this builds.
- 46:58SPEAKER_12: Uh but I want to see if I can get.
- 47:03SPEAKER_12: You have to listen to it from the beginning to the end.
- 47:06SPEAKER_12: It's eight minutes long.
- 47:07SPEAKER_12: Uh, roughly, and but I want I just want to get to the you know where the the build yeah, right there.
- 47:15SPEAKER_12: That's one of them right there.
- 47:17SPEAKER_12: There's two.
- 47:18SPEAKER_12: Two or three.
- 47:43SPEAKER_12: Almost hurts my ears.
- 47:44SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 47:46SPEAKER_13: But in a good way, yeah.
- 47:50SPEAKER_12: And then it comes back in.
- 47:55SPEAKER_12: Honestly.
- 47:56SPEAKER_12: Yeah, it's it's a beautiful song.
- 47:58SPEAKER_12: And you know, I'm a sucker for melancholy anyway.
- 48:01SPEAKER_12: Yes.
- 48:02SPEAKER_12: Um.
- 48:03SPEAKER_12: So, you know, if you just on like a rainy afternoon or something, you put that that piece of music on.
- 48:09SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 48:12SPEAKER_12: So that's my pick.
- 48:12SPEAKER_12: Samuel Barber, Adage O for Strings from Platoon.
- 48:15SPEAKER_12: Noise.
- 48:16SPEAKER_12: Yours is Phantom of the Opera from the original soundtrack.
- 48:18SPEAKER_12: Correct.
- 48:19SPEAKER_12: And Cousin Larry is I'm Alright from Kenny Lawkins.
- 48:23SPEAKER_12: From uh Caddyshack.
- 48:24SPEAKER_12: Yes.
- 48:25SPEAKER_12: So there you go.
- 48:28SPEAKER_12: I could just listen to this forever.
- 48:30SPEAKER_12: This is amazing.
- 48:32SPEAKER_12: Anyway, uh, let's move on to the uh future.
- 48:36SPEAKER_13: Future question.
- 48:38SPEAKER_13: Question.
- 48:40SPEAKER_13: Alright.
- 48:42SPEAKER_13: A million miles and counting.
- 48:44SPEAKER_13: What song do you play as you're pulling your 18-wheeler onto the interstate for one last leg across the USA?
- 48:52SPEAKER_12: Oh wow.
- 48:52SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 48:55SPEAKER_14: That's a heavy duty song, man.
- 48:57SPEAKER_12: I think I already know.
- 48:58SPEAKER_12: Well, there you go.
- 48:59SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 48:59SPEAKER_14: Alright.
- 49:01SPEAKER_13: Game over.
- 49:02SPEAKER_12: Next game! But you know what?
- 49:06SPEAKER_12: I think that either you or cousin Larry are gonna pick the same song that I picked.
- 49:14SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 49:14SPEAKER_12: So we'll see what happens.
- 49:16SPEAKER_12: We will see.
- 49:17SPEAKER_12: Uh.
- 49:19SPEAKER_12: I hate to turn this off, but I'm going to.
- 49:20SPEAKER_12: That's Samuel Barber.
- 49:22SPEAKER_12: Bye, Sam.
- 49:22SPEAKER_12: Bye! Um, alright, so we're gonna take a break.
- 49:25SPEAKER_12: We'll come back, and we will um read from our Beatles book.
- 49:33SPEAKER_12: We will.
- 49:34SPEAKER_14: And I will be awesome.
- 49:35SPEAKER_14: Climb the wall of tunes.
- 49:36SPEAKER_14: And I'll pretend I know what's going on.
- 49:40SPEAKER_12: We'll be right back.

- 51:12SPEAKER_13: It's uh every little thing.
- 51:15SPEAKER_14: Every little thing, gonna be alright.
- 51:18SPEAKER_14: Exactly.
- 51:18SPEAKER_13: That's exactly how it goes, you silly head.
- 51:21SPEAKER_13: Alright, every little thing was written by Paul for Jane Asher.
- 51:25SPEAKER_13: Oh, here we go again.
- 51:26SPEAKER_13: With much the same theme as with much as the same theme as things we said today.
- 51:33SPEAKER_13: Very much of it tells time.
- 51:35SPEAKER_13: It tells the tale of a lucky guy whose girl loves him so much she does everything for him.
- 51:41SPEAKER_13: The girl's needs are not even considered.
- 51:44SPEAKER_13: I think there's some sort of editorial statement there.
- 51:48SPEAKER_13: Uh the assumption being that she should find her fulfillment in serving her man.
- 51:52SPEAKER_13: Ironically, it's precisely the atten attitudes expressed in this song that Jane Asher later challenged when she told Paul she needed to find fulfillment in her acting career.
- 52:03SPEAKER_13: It wasn't enough for her to be the girlfriend of a desirable pop star.
- 52:07SPEAKER_13: She wanted to make her own mark in the world of the arts.
- 52:10SPEAKER_13: Although this song was credited solely to Paul, who had come up with the basic for the track in his room at Wimpole Street, John remembered he might have thrown something in too.
- 52:20SPEAKER_13: It was an attempt at r uh it was an attempt at writing a single, but it became an album track.
- 52:26SPEAKER_13: So there you go.
- 52:28SPEAKER_13: Alright.
- 52:30SPEAKER_14: Oh, I didn't hit the music.
- 52:31SPEAKER_14: You didn't hit the song, man, because everybody's going, what is the song?
- 52:37SPEAKER_08: When I'm walking beside her, people tell me I'm lucky.
- 52:44SPEAKER_12: I love this one.
- 52:47SPEAKER_12: This is my favorite era of the Beatles.
- 53:03SPEAKER_08: She does.
- 53:08SPEAKER_08: And she does.
- 53:10SPEAKER_08: She does me.
- 53:12SPEAKER_08: She does on me.
- 53:16SPEAKER_08: When I'm with her, I'm happy.
- 53:20SPEAKER_08: Just to know that she loved me.
- 53:24SPEAKER_08: Just I know that she loved me.
- 53:32SPEAKER_08: I will love her forever.
- 53:40SPEAKER_08: Every little thing she does.
- 53:44SPEAKER_08: She does on me.
- 53:46SPEAKER_08: I'm gonna stop my next.

- 53:54SPEAKER_12: By the way, the Beatles aren't that bad.
- 53:57SPEAKER_12: Um, alright.
- 53:58SPEAKER_12: Uh I have an album.
- 54:00SPEAKER_14: I don't.
- 54:01SPEAKER_14: So let the guessing begin.
- 54:05SPEAKER_14: Is it a band?
- 54:06SPEAKER_14: No.
