- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, Bill Krackerberger, John Orlando. We are on location
- 0:03Speaker 1: this week over here in California, beautiful sunny California. We
- 0:07Speaker 1: have a special guest this week, Matt Boyer, who I've
- 0:11Speaker 1: known for many, many years, been around the world. Would
- 0:13Speaker 1: have actually been to some places, and not that I
- 0:16Speaker 1: traveled with him, but I just seen him there and
- 0:19Speaker 1: played a tournament versum. I actually got to the finals
- 0:22Speaker 1: with him in a big tournament. We're going to talk
- 0:24Speaker 1: about that. John Orlando here at my side and Matt,
- 0:27Speaker 1: thanks for joining us today.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Thanks for having me, guys, No, we appreciate it.
- 0:31Speaker 3: I haven't been this excited to do a podcast in
- 0:34Speaker 3: probably four years, not since Dana. This is my most
- 0:37Speaker 3: exciting episode I've been a part of since Dana White.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Wow.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Okay, this is you know, only because we talked about
- 0:45Speaker 1: it coming here to how gambling is so widespread now,
- 0:49Speaker 1: it's everywhere every country. It's big overseas to Australia has
- 0:53Speaker 1: got terrible gallic gambling problems now the United States seven
- 0:56Speaker 1: years ago perhaps, but it was repealed. Gambling is basically
- 0:59Speaker 1: everywhere in the United States now, and we felt so
- 1:02Speaker 1: bad that this guy's actually going to prison involving gambling,
- 1:06Speaker 1: even though he gave up so much.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So, Matt, the world's going to be a better place
- 1:10Speaker 3: with you being locked up. Yeah, this is so crazy.
- 1:14Speaker 3: What are we doing? This is so nuts, you.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Know, Matt.
- 1:17Speaker 1: As a kid growing up on the East Coast, I
- 1:20Speaker 1: was literally enamored in gambling. My family, you know, my
- 1:22Speaker 1: mother's Italian uncles and aunts. They always on the weekends
- 1:26Speaker 1: the men played peant uncle or poker. The girls played
- 1:29Speaker 1: Continental gin or something like that.
- 1:32Speaker 2: But it was always for money.
- 1:33Speaker 1: So as eight seven, eight nine years old, we went
- 1:34Speaker 1: to Mamma's Park racetrack Belmont Meadowlands, not even thinking much
- 1:38Speaker 1: of it. And it was like instilled in me where
- 1:41Speaker 1: I grew up and our parents didn't know, They didn't
- 1:43Speaker 1: know that. They were like, you know, taking us around
- 1:45Speaker 1: this stuff and we become little djns, which I did.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I grew up on a boardwalk town that was a
- 1:48Speaker 1: gambling town. Out here. I always think so different. I
- 1:52Speaker 1: think you guys are all like surfers having fun.
- 1:54Speaker 2: There's no gambling. How did you get into gambling? Well,
- 1:57Speaker 2: grew up here.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I grew up right here in Orange County, and I
- 2:01Speaker 4: grew up in Cypress in Cypress. There's a Los al
- 2:04Speaker 4: Amino's racetrack. You know, it's only eight minutes away.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yep.
- 2:07Speaker 4: So I grew up where my grandparents would take me
- 2:10Speaker 4: to the racetrack and same thing. It was very casual,
- 2:13Speaker 4: just go there with them, and we had two dollars
- 2:15Speaker 4: on a trifecta or whatever, it was something small, and
- 2:18Speaker 4: then we would gamble in yacht see even you know,
- 2:20Speaker 4: board games at the house. So gambling was always around
- 2:23Speaker 4: me as well, even though we do surf out here.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Bill, Yes, that is no I know, I'm I'm just
- 2:27Speaker 1: being funny, really, but we had like after our joints too,
- 2:30Speaker 1: when everything closed, you want to get even, you have
- 2:32Speaker 1: after our joints places that are literally crap games and stuff,
- 2:36Speaker 1: you know, if you're in North Jersey in New York.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Of course, Atlantic City had all the action down in
- 2:39Speaker 1: Atlantic City. I was going to Atlantic City when I
- 2:41Speaker 1: was sixteen. I mean, I was a little dj in
- 2:43Speaker 1: Gambler too. Did you as a kid was there games here,
- 2:48Speaker 1: any poker games or any kind of other gambling or
- 2:50Speaker 1: was it sports betting back when you were a kid
- 2:52Speaker 1: or not?
- 2:52Speaker 5: Really?
- 2:52Speaker 4: Well, bookmakers, if you read my book Recalibrate you'll see that.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I tell a story that I was running a poker
- 2:58Speaker 4: ring in my house. Oh, I was sixteen, right, and
- 3:01Speaker 4: then that got shut down because one of the moms
- 3:04Speaker 4: was doing some laundry and found a little cheat sheet
- 3:07Speaker 4: out of an IOU for like three hundred and something dollars. Wow,
- 3:11Speaker 4: when you're sixteen, feels like eight million. So all the kids,
- 3:14Speaker 4: my parents to back back up a little bit. When
- 3:17Speaker 4: I was twelve, the first twelve years of my life,
- 3:19Speaker 4: I had three brothers.
- 3:20Speaker 5: We had to kind of leave it the Beaver family.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Everything that look perfect, and we grew up in Cyprus,
- 3:26Speaker 4: which was middle class, but we were the kids that
- 3:28Speaker 4: never struggled or suffered to get things right. So I
- 3:32Speaker 4: feel like we were kind of babied in a sense,
- 3:35Speaker 4: you know, just spoiled a little bit, you're honest.
- 3:37Speaker 5: And then once my.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Dad, who was a Vietnam Vet, developed a really bad
- 3:40Speaker 4: alcohol addiction. He started drinking forty beers a day and
- 3:44Speaker 4: three packs of cigarettes. After about four rehabs, my mom
- 3:47Speaker 4: just had enough so he left the house. And then
- 3:50Speaker 4: I was twelve, and that was the moment where reality
- 3:52Speaker 4: came in. I started hustling. So from twelve years old,
- 3:55Speaker 4: I had to start. I didn't want to ask my
- 3:56Speaker 4: mom for money. She's working three jobs, trying to keep
- 3:59Speaker 4: us in the house. Sure, my two older brothers or
- 4:01Speaker 4: one was graduating in high school, the other one was
- 4:03Speaker 4: in high school. They were just kind of doing their
- 4:05Speaker 4: own thing, chasing girls and living their own life, so
- 4:08Speaker 4: as me and my little brother, and really didn't have
- 4:10Speaker 4: much supervision. So you know, that's not really good for
- 4:14Speaker 4: a young boy. So I started hustling. I started the
- 4:16Speaker 4: Orange County Register paper Boy baseball card collection, poker ring.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Then I started selling weed little marijuanaut of my house.
- 4:24Speaker 4: So everything was like just trying to make money. And
- 4:26Speaker 4: then I started making almost as much money as my
- 4:28Speaker 4: mom at sixteen because I started also taking sports bets,
- 4:31Speaker 4: making bets any form of gambling. That became my passion
- 4:35Speaker 4: because I knew how to hustle and kind of find
- 4:38Speaker 4: an edge if you will, which you're really good at.
- 4:40Speaker 4: And that edge was imperative to me because I didn't
- 4:44Speaker 4: want to ask my mom for money.
- 4:45Speaker 5: I saw her struggling so bad.
- 4:47Speaker 4: So anyway, at sixteen years old, I was running the
- 4:49Speaker 4: poker ring that got shut down. And then when I
- 4:52Speaker 4: was eighteen years old, I finally got kicked out of
- 4:54Speaker 4: my house for selling weed, and I went and got
- 4:56Speaker 4: an apartment with my ex wife, who we end up
- 5:00Speaker 4: having a baby. So fast forwarding at eighteen years old,
- 5:03Speaker 4: like I got an apartment. I was working two jobs.
- 5:06Speaker 4: I worked at the Massimo Clothing Company and the john
- 5:09Speaker 4: wayn Airport, so you know, ends meet jobs right six
- 5:12Speaker 4: to two, two thirty to ten, and then on the
- 5:14Speaker 4: weekends I go racetrack, bet sports, lose money to a bookmaker,
- 5:19Speaker 4: anything to hustle and try to figure it out, which
- 5:21Speaker 4: wasn't working because I was a djen.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Long story short.
- 5:24Speaker 4: After about eight months of that, I decided that's not
- 5:27Speaker 4: working and she got pregnant, so we had to move
- 5:30Speaker 4: back to.
- 5:30Speaker 5: My mom's house.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Well, my mom lost her house, so now she lived
- 5:34Speaker 4: in a trailer park in Dana Point, which is really
- 5:37Speaker 4: hard pill to swallow. So I was like, Wow, I'm eighteen,
- 5:40Speaker 4: about to have a baby, can't even figure out my
- 5:42Speaker 4: own life, and I'm moving into a trailer park. Mind
- 5:46Speaker 4: you the trailer park. It was a two double wide
- 5:48Speaker 4: mobile home with two bedrooms. Yeah, my mom, my little brother,
- 5:51Speaker 4: me and my ex wife on a couch.
- 5:53Speaker 5: So I was like, I better wake up and become
- 5:55Speaker 5: a man.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So I one got a job as a bus boy.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I'm fast forwarding all this. Basically figured out the reason
- 6:02Speaker 4: I got a job as a bus boy. They wouldn't
- 6:04Speaker 4: hire me as a waiter because I had no experience.
- 6:06Speaker 4: And I figured out, if I started this brand new
- 6:08Speaker 4: restaurant in a very nice area at day in a
- 6:09Speaker 4: point California, I'll meet somebody, use my you know, charisma,
- 6:13Speaker 4: use my personality to get in a job that's a.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Real job, right And it worked. About five months.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Later, got an opportunity go down to this commodity broker's house,
- 6:22Speaker 4: all these young guys making tons of money.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Ferrari's parked out. You know.
- 6:26Speaker 4: It was basically Wall Street room, very much but legal, yep.
- 6:30Speaker 4: And so I worked my way up, got my serious
- 6:32Speaker 4: three license. When I was twenty one years old, I
- 6:34Speaker 4: was the top retail broker in the world. And then
- 6:36Speaker 4: I purchased the house that my parents lost, Wow, the
- 6:39Speaker 4: very same home with for sale for five hundred and
- 6:41Speaker 4: fifty thousand. I moved into my parents' house. Me and
- 6:44Speaker 4: my wife ex wife were sleeping in my parents' bedroom.
- 6:47Speaker 4: It was eerie, it was crazy. My daughter was two
- 6:49Speaker 4: years old, I was making seven hundred thousand dolls a year.
- 6:52Speaker 4: At twenty one, I had a Mercedes and I was
- 6:54Speaker 4: on top of the world. In that process. I've always
- 6:57Speaker 4: been a gambling degenerate, so I was always gambling and
- 6:59Speaker 4: always fucking awful lot of my money. And I decided
- 7:03Speaker 4: at this point, instead of giving all my money to
- 7:05Speaker 4: book makers, which I kept doing anyway, I'll just be one,
- 7:09Speaker 4: you know, because I was always taking bets, but it
- 7:10Speaker 4: was never really a business. And I had this perfect
- 7:13Speaker 4: like opportunity because I have this broker's firm with these
- 7:15Speaker 4: young guys who are really just hookers, drugs, gambling, all
- 7:20Speaker 4: any vices you could put together, which is just like
- 7:22Speaker 4: the movie Sure Wolfe of Wall Street. Really yep was
- 7:25Speaker 4: my atmosphere. And I wasn't into hookers because I was married.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I really don't drink too much, and I don't do drugs,
- 7:31Speaker 4: never done drugs in my life. But I love to gamble,
- 7:34Speaker 4: so here it is. Let me just take advantage of this.
- 7:37Speaker 4: So I started building a client base, and next thing,
- 7:39Speaker 4: I had about maybe fifty sixty players, and I was
- 7:42Speaker 4: making really good money because these guys are betting quite
- 7:44Speaker 4: a bit. And I wasn't really afraid. As you guys know,
- 7:47Speaker 4: I've heard the stories. I pretty much take any bet
- 7:49Speaker 4: right now. I had a bankroll behind me. So fast
- 7:52Speaker 4: forward about maybe two years later, the Internet comes around.
- 7:56Speaker 4: And when the Internet comes around, I said, this is
- 7:58Speaker 4: a scalable business. So I was one of the first
- 8:01Speaker 4: book makers to go to Costa Rica, use the perheads shop,
- 8:04Speaker 4: take advantage of that, and then I scaled my business
- 8:06Speaker 4: to a dramatic fashion to where I had, you know,
- 8:09Speaker 4: eventually twelve on our clients when I got in trouble.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:11Speaker 5: But it's like in the late nineties.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Yeah, no, later than that, because in ninety three ninety
- 8:17Speaker 4: three I graduated high school is eighteen. So I would say,
- 8:21Speaker 4: right around the year two thousand, I mean, what kind
- 8:22Speaker 4: of money were you doing at that point?
- 8:25Speaker 5: Back then?
- 8:26Speaker 4: I would say probably like the average bet maybe was
- 8:28Speaker 4: maybe I would say five hundred to two thousand, okay, And.
- 8:31Speaker 5: Then I had some guys betting up to five or.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Ten thousand, which, mind you, this is twenty five years ago,
- 8:37Speaker 4: so that was a bigger number then. And of course
- 8:39Speaker 4: it escalated dramatically when I was probably about thirty years old.
- 8:42Speaker 4: That's when I really started book making big and then
- 8:45Speaker 4: of course set the tail in my career, you know,
- 8:47Speaker 4: million dollar bets and.
- 8:49Speaker 5: Did you have anyone backing?
- 8:51Speaker 4: No, I never had any backer, really never. I had
- 8:54Speaker 4: to be stressful. It could be yeah, especially gambling from.
- 8:59Speaker 3: At a gambling you're like you, you really the equivalent
- 9:01Speaker 3: of like a drug dealer used to the rules like
- 9:03Speaker 3: don't get high up your own supply.
- 9:04Speaker 5: That was you.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I actually got higher because I was gambling higher than
- 9:07Speaker 4: I was taking, which is really a problem. You know,
- 9:10Speaker 4: Bill knows this better than anyone. If you don't have
- 9:11Speaker 4: the bankroll management. And then I would go to Vegas,
- 9:14Speaker 4: I blow two million, I'd come home I lost a
- 9:16Speaker 4: million five in my book making operation, three and a
- 9:19Speaker 4: half million dollars gone. And then maybe I went to
- 9:22Speaker 4: Vegas with the two I blew that came home and
- 9:24Speaker 4: only had let's say, eight hundred thousand here. Now I
- 9:26Speaker 4: got to go borrow seven or grand. I've been there
- 9:28Speaker 4: many times. I've been unbelievable in many positions.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Well you're only booking and you were borrowing.
- 9:33Speaker 5: One hundred percent.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I borrowed money so many times in my lifetime over
- 9:36Speaker 4: the last thirty years.
- 9:37Speaker 5: You would no.
- 9:38Speaker 4: One would ever know, because every one thinks bookmakers just
- 9:40Speaker 4: win now.
- 9:41Speaker 2: You guys all win now.
- 9:42Speaker 1: If there's losing weeks when you especially if you have
- 9:43Speaker 1: one or two clients that control your book they're betting big.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Yeah, five ten thousand guys.
- 9:48Speaker 1: If you have a guy betten in one hundred thousand,
- 9:50Speaker 1: they're the guys that are going to control you a week.
- 9:52Speaker 4: They mat out more than all your players right at
- 9:54Speaker 4: the end of the day. If you're a book maker
- 9:56Speaker 4: that like me, doesn't really care what the limits are, right.
- 9:58Speaker 5: And I'm willing to gamble.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Most most bookmakers are smart enough to know, like, let's
- 10:02Speaker 4: bank roll managers saying let's not let one or two
- 10:05Speaker 4: guys control your operation. That makes sense. But for me,
- 10:08Speaker 4: I was a gambler. I was like, you know what,
- 10:09Speaker 4: I'll beat this guy in the long run. I'll take
- 10:11Speaker 4: it as long as I know the money was good.
- 10:13Speaker 4: I knew he wasn't sharp. I didn't want your action, Bill,
- 10:15Speaker 4: Let's be honest. No, But at the end of the day.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Why do you say that?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Because I was down and I ran into you multiple times.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Sports out of the country and coastal coastry. We were
- 10:23Speaker 1: in Dominican Republic.
- 10:24Speaker 2: One of them. I mean, there's Bahamas.
- 10:26Speaker 1: But when I was when I seen you in there,
- 10:28Speaker 1: you were in a sportsbook betting, and I said, wow,
- 10:31Speaker 1: this guy's sharp. You know what he's doing for myself?
- 10:33Speaker 1: I didn't know want to talk to there. I said,
- 10:35Speaker 1: this guy is taking sharp bets and laying it off
- 10:38Speaker 1: making money.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I didn't know your operator. I never I didn't.
- 10:40Speaker 5: I tried that too. That didn't really work.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I never had an account because knew I wasn't going
- 10:44Speaker 1: to get one. Well, who you knew who I was,
- 10:45Speaker 1: so I never really wanted.
- 10:46Speaker 5: To be honest.
- 10:46Speaker 4: I was fair warned that you're smarter than the average
- 10:49Speaker 4: bear anyway. Yeah, so if I would have gave you an account,
- 10:51Speaker 4: it would have been through somebody else.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:53Speaker 5: In fact, I think we discussed it one time. We
- 10:54Speaker 5: never end up.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I've never did it. Yeah, I was going.
- 10:56Speaker 4: To get you a couple accounts with a couple of
- 10:58Speaker 4: guys I didn't.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Really love in the business. What was the most amount
- 11:02Speaker 5: of money you ever had to borrow? Two million?
- 11:05Speaker 4: For sure, I definitely borrow two million from a friend
- 11:07Speaker 4: of mine.
- 11:08Speaker 2: You have a friend that'll give you two million cabs?
- 11:09Speaker 5: I do, he would give me two million today.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Wow.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong, I compensated him
- 11:15Speaker 4: draft k.
- 11:17Speaker 5: But he understands the whole business.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Though not only that, he understands me right at the
- 11:22Speaker 4: end of the day, Like if I borrow two million
- 11:24Speaker 4: dollars and I'm in the shoes I'm in today, he
- 11:27Speaker 4: would still lend it to me because he knows I
- 11:29Speaker 4: will get him the money eventually, even no matter what happens,
- 11:32Speaker 4: unless I get hit by a bus. Sure, the only
- 11:33Speaker 4: way he would not get paid. Because I'm not claiming
- 11:36Speaker 4: I'm an angel. I'm not the most honorable person in
- 11:38Speaker 4: the world. Like I definitely had my share of problems
- 11:41Speaker 4: with people in the past whatever, but I would never
- 11:44Speaker 4: fuck over my friend ever. Yeah, I mean truly, I
- 11:47Speaker 4: would actually ruin my own life. Sure, for I'm back
- 11:50Speaker 4: because he did me that solid of giving me two
- 11:52Speaker 4: million dollars showing me that good fate, you know, and
- 11:54Speaker 4: I had so many of those relationships. Thank God, that
- 11:57Speaker 4: I could come home and know that I had it
- 11:59Speaker 4: covered wowed me to as you know, which is very
- 12:01Speaker 4: important as a gambler to walk into a casino, even
- 12:04Speaker 4: if it was my to be honest, last two million
- 12:07Speaker 4: dollars I would gamble like it was I had one
- 12:09Speaker 4: hundred million at home. Because you can't go into a
- 12:11Speaker 4: casino and be like scared or play fearful. I mean
- 12:15Speaker 4: one thing about me, I have zero fear. I mean
- 12:18Speaker 4: zoo that I was with you.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I was with you one time, sitting down at the
- 12:21Speaker 1: table just to watch it, and you guys were betting
- 12:23Speaker 1: two hundred thousand and a hand. This is the kind
- 12:25Speaker 1: of money they're betting. Abot four hundred thousand dollars. Swings slackjack, no,
- 12:29Speaker 1: and and he's had swings. But I didn't know this
- 12:31Speaker 1: till yesterday. Tell John what you bet on the Super
- 12:34Speaker 1: Bowl that kind of money.
- 12:35Speaker 5: I'll tell you. I have the tickets to prove it.
- 12:37Speaker 4: I bet one point twenty five million at the Atlantis
- 12:40Speaker 4: Casino live in person.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Wow, I have the tickets. I was in the I
- 12:44Speaker 5: was in Atlantis, and then.
- 12:45Speaker 4: I bet the all the rest of the bets through
- 12:47Speaker 4: forty book making accounts.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 12:49Speaker 4: I'm not going to say their name is a out
- 12:51Speaker 4: of respect, but they're all well known people.
- 12:53Speaker 5: I had relationships with that.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Almost everybody crossed the four point six on the game,
- 12:58Speaker 4: but some of it they were a dog was Chiefs
- 13:01Speaker 4: against the Eagles.
- 13:02Speaker 5: I hope he had no Chiefs against Eagles.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Chiefs.
- 13:05Speaker 4: I got lucky in one, of course, But at halftime
- 13:07Speaker 4: I bet four point two million. And then at halftime,
- 13:10Speaker 4: I don't know if you guys remember the game, Mahomes
- 13:12Speaker 4: was like hobbling.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Into the thing.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Everyone thought he was done, was done.
- 13:16Speaker 5: And guess why, I thought.
- 13:17Speaker 4: I was betting on Chad Henny, right, And so I
- 13:19Speaker 4: bet four hundred thousand dollars more on the second half.
- 13:22Speaker 4: And people ask me all the time, knowing that why
- 13:24Speaker 4: would you bet four hundred thousand dollars more? And I said,
- 13:26Speaker 4: because I'm a Dejenner gambler. And I was just hoping
- 13:30Speaker 4: that Chad Henny would have the game of his life,
- 13:32Speaker 4: knowing that I'm probably going to lose the four point
- 13:34Speaker 4: two and hoping to you know, make a comeback because
- 13:36Speaker 4: they already be down by I think seven or ten time,
- 13:38Speaker 4: whatever it was. And when Mahomes came back out and
- 13:42Speaker 4: obviously looked amazing the first drive.
- 13:44Speaker 5: Crazy, I was like, I got a shot at.
- 13:45Speaker 4: This, and uh, you know, truth feeling it really was,
- 13:48Speaker 4: But truth be told, I was already down a million
- 13:50Speaker 4: five at the Atlantis and then every book making account
- 13:53Speaker 4: I was betting on, I was already down for the week,
- 13:55Speaker 4: so sadly, out of the four point six I made money,
- 13:59Speaker 4: but it was minimal. Like I came home with two
- 14:01Speaker 4: hundred thousand from Atlantis, which is nothing considered all the
- 14:04Speaker 4: risks and exposure ad and then I came home to
- 14:06Speaker 4: collect some packages around town for like little eight hundred thousand. Wow,
- 14:09Speaker 4: So it was I bet four point six million could
- 14:13Speaker 4: have been now nine million. And I came home and
- 14:15Speaker 4: maybe had a million dollars total collected.
- 14:17Speaker 1: That whole process of the Trip Westgate Superbook Super Contest.
- 14:22Speaker 1: This year we also have the Super Contest College five
- 14:25Speaker 1: hundred dollars an entry. I'm so pumped up for this.
- 14:28Speaker 1: It's five there's five hundred and sixty eight people in
- 14:30Speaker 1: this contest right now. I expected to probably go up
- 14:34Speaker 1: to about eight nine hundred. You only have like a week, though,
- 14:36Speaker 1: so make sure you get in before August twenty ninth.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Five hundred dollars. Like I said, seven picks against the spread.
- 14:43Speaker 1: This is something that's revolutionary. The town never had it before.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Looking forward to this super contest, fifteen hundred entry up
- 14:49Speaker 1: to five hundred and thirty five thousand in the prize
- 14:51Speaker 1: pool already Super Contest Gold, Super Contest Survivor. This is
- 14:55Speaker 1: going to be really good over here at the West Gate.
- 14:57Speaker 3: How many times would you say you have risked pretty
- 15:00Speaker 3: much your entire net worth?
- 15:02Speaker 5: Many?
- 15:03Speaker 4: Many sounds like a many times many times?
- 15:05Speaker 5: Wow, truly, I haven't.
- 15:06Speaker 4: I've risked my net worth and money that I don't
- 15:10Speaker 4: have many many times, like I'm not even proud of it.
- 15:13Speaker 5: I'm just being honest.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Could being honest because that some people can't do.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Well, Yeah, they struggle with it. I don't. I'm actually
- 15:19Speaker 5: the opposite.
- 15:20Speaker 4: I just tell the truth too much and say too much,
- 15:22Speaker 4: which is very obvious based on my case. You know,
- 15:24Speaker 4: my attorneys hate what I'm doing right now.
- 15:25Speaker 3: And I know there's clearly you said there's multiple people
- 15:28Speaker 3: that you've been able to borrow from your relationships and stuff,
- 15:31Speaker 3: which speaks to the kind of person you are to
- 15:33Speaker 3: be able to have access to money like that. But
- 15:36Speaker 3: there's definitely been times where you even were like, oh shit,
- 15:39Speaker 3: I'm in a jam now.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Like listen, I'm not afraid to admit it. I owed
- 15:43Speaker 4: the win Las Vegas. I lost three million dollars there.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I couldn't pay. When I got home, went on a
- 15:48Speaker 4: payments plan. They took me to the Clark County DIA's office.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I had to pay ten percent juice on it, paid
- 15:53Speaker 4: that off, paid the win. You know, I ended up
- 15:55Speaker 4: making it right always, but I've been multiple times.
- 15:58Speaker 1: You paid the juice on it? You said, yeah, buck
- 16:00Speaker 1: on my hands at kah. Sorry, so you paid the
- 16:02Speaker 1: juice on. Now after you owed that money out, did
- 16:05Speaker 1: you get credit again? No, not a windows from casinos
- 16:08Speaker 1: in general.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Of course I did.
- 16:09Speaker 2: It goes to Central Credit, of.
- 16:11Speaker 5: Course I did.
- 16:11Speaker 4: And then even with the remarks, even with the remarks,
- 16:13Speaker 4: they still put you in a million percent.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Casinos Really they love to bury people. No, they really do.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Listen, They're not dumb. They have the best collection agent
- 16:23Speaker 4: right now.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Way check. It's a felony.
- 16:24Speaker 5: You're going to jail if you don't pay.
- 16:26Speaker 4: If a bookmaker had that right, I mean, other than
- 16:29Speaker 4: that back in the day when the mob would just
- 16:30Speaker 4: do something drafted for you.
- 16:32Speaker 5: There's no better collection agency than the jail.
- 16:35Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I want to go back to poont account and I'll
- 16:36Speaker 1: tell you why something you don't know. I've never really
- 16:38Speaker 1: told the story to almost anyone except for my wife.
- 16:41Speaker 1: So I'm in put the count on that trip, and
- 16:45Speaker 1: I win one hundred and fifty thousand in that tournament.
- 16:47Speaker 2: That's what I won that tournament.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I had a double on a seventeen versus I had
- 16:52Speaker 1: a double on a seventeen. I'm telling the story. I
- 16:54Speaker 1: think you had a nineteen. I had a seventeen.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Oh you guys were heads up.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, down to the last down.
- 17:00Speaker 5: They don't last time, and he obviously won.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I had a double one of seventeen. I got three.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah and I But that's not the point.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Was really this is how you met or you are.
- 17:10Speaker 5: We saw each other a million times.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I actually felt it, and you know, usually I would say,
- 17:13Speaker 1: let's split.
- 17:14Speaker 2: When he split the money, Yeah, this morning was nothing
- 17:17Speaker 2: to him. He's not going to split one hundred. He
- 17:18Speaker 2: might have.
- 17:19Speaker 4: We actually talked about it and I said you you
- 17:21Speaker 4: were like hey, and I'm like, no, I don't worry.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Beut, I'm betting this one. Here.
- 17:23Speaker 2: You're betting this.
- 17:24Speaker 4: On one hand, you're like, okay, the dup working out
- 17:26Speaker 4: for it.
- 17:26Speaker 2: But I got lucky.
- 17:27Speaker 1: But here the point I want to tell you that
- 17:28Speaker 1: you don't know, so they wouldn't give me a check.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I wanted to check. They wouldn't give me a cashier check.
- 17:34Speaker 1: The wouldn't give me a check. I know, you have
- 17:35Speaker 1: to take the cash. We don't deal with cashier checks
- 17:37Speaker 1: with the States. It is the weirdest thing ever.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Wow. And and the.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Director of marketing, the guy that was let me get
- 17:42Speaker 1: out of the place, did not like any He didn't
- 17:44Speaker 1: like any of us. I just didn't like even though
- 17:46Speaker 1: he was and it might have been him, they made
- 17:49Speaker 1: me take the cash.
- 17:50Speaker 5: Wow.
- 17:50Speaker 1: So now I have I have to go and I
- 17:52Speaker 1: have to go and declare through fence him and they
- 17:56Speaker 1: were the nastiest people that I've ever dealt with, probably
- 17:59Speaker 1: at an airport or anything. I said, I want to
- 18:01Speaker 1: declare it. I say, google my name, I declared tax
- 18:03Speaker 1: went every year. I showed them the things, and they
- 18:06Speaker 1: still like put me in the back room and locked
- 18:08Speaker 1: up the money. I thought I wasn't going to get
- 18:10Speaker 1: the money. I thought they were going to steal the
- 18:12Speaker 1: money from me. That's what I thought. I heard horror
- 18:15Speaker 1: stories of people landing in the airport there in the
- 18:19Speaker 1: Minican Republican driving over to Putta Khana the casino, which
- 18:23Speaker 1: is probably like twenty minute thirty minutes away. I heard
- 18:25Speaker 1: horror stories about something's happening, but it's never happened to me.
- 18:28Speaker 1: They pick you up in a limmit. I heard people
- 18:30Speaker 1: got pulled over and robbed. That's what I heard. Wow,
- 18:32Speaker 1: So do you have any stories, because in the book,
- 18:35Speaker 1: I'm hearing that you have a story of something happened
- 18:38Speaker 1: to you.
- 18:39Speaker 5: I think it's a more than a horror story.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 5: So I went.
- 18:44Speaker 4: My wife and I got married in twenty eighteen Pelican Hill,
- 18:48Speaker 4: amazing wedding, the best time in my life.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Twenty sixteen.
- 18:52Speaker 4: At the end of sixteen, we were looking for places
- 18:56Speaker 4: for a bachelor bachelor ret party.
- 18:58Speaker 5: So in seventeen I went to Baha Mar just.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Opened, beautiful, beautiful place, right, gorgeous.
- 19:04Speaker 5: We go there.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I went one hundred and sixty five thousand, sticking around,
- 19:07Speaker 4: checking out a location. A million dollar line. Strike that
- 19:11Speaker 4: I had a million dollar line that time. I already
- 19:13Speaker 4: told you a story off camera about Periente giving me
- 19:15Speaker 4: promised me a million, only give me five hundred thousand.
- 19:17Speaker 4: That was the next trip. Anyway, had a million dollar line.
- 19:19Speaker 4: I wont one hundred and sixty five thousand. It's like
- 19:22Speaker 4: five thirty in the morning, we go to the airport
- 19:24Speaker 4: and you know, you fill the customers forms. Well, I
- 19:27Speaker 4: did not declare the money. And the reason I didn't
- 19:29Speaker 4: declare the money is not because I was trying to
- 19:31Speaker 4: hide it for tax purposes. Because if you fast forward
- 19:34Speaker 4: about six months earlier, I won about three hundred thousand
- 19:37Speaker 4: in Las Vegas. I came through the airport, they put
- 19:40Speaker 4: it through the scanner, got flagged. The TSA agent called
- 19:44Speaker 4: a supervisor over. They came over. Okay, where'd you get this?
- 19:49Speaker 4: Caesar's Palace? Here's the phone number my host, please call
- 19:51Speaker 4: him verify it. Okay, this is through.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Right. I landed John Winn Airport. Were there, me and my.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Wife all of a sudden, waiting from bags to come down.
- 20:01Speaker 4: I see two guys with badges walk up to me.
- 20:03Speaker 4: You could tell they're looking at me like, you know,
- 20:05Speaker 4: like they're looking at a picture. Hey you're mat boy, right,
- 20:08Speaker 4: I said, yeah, Hi, Homeland Security John whatever his name is.
- 20:12Speaker 4: I said, okay, we need you to grab your bags
- 20:14Speaker 4: and come with us. I said, well, what did I do?
- 20:16Speaker 4: I said, well, we'll discuss that.
- 20:18Speaker 5: No problem. So I'm waiting with two agents.
- 20:21Speaker 4: My wife is about I would say seriously, like five
- 20:24Speaker 4: or six feet away from me. The money's in her bag.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Carry on, and she looks at me and I give
- 20:31Speaker 4: her the eye, like because the one agent had to
- 20:35Speaker 4: go get another agent, a woman, because clearly they're about
- 20:38Speaker 4: to strip search us or whatever. So I had this
- 20:42Speaker 4: agent that I'm talking to literally kind of turned a
- 20:44Speaker 4: little bit and I gave her the She just grabbed
- 20:46Speaker 4: the bag went straight out the door. If you guys
- 20:48Speaker 4: know where Orange County Airport, Yeah, the luggage the baggage
- 20:52Speaker 4: carousel is very close to the front door.
- 20:54Speaker 5: She went right out the door.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Wow, Okay, this is true, story, verifiable, And so she
- 21:00Speaker 4: I have my phone. They didn't take my phone, and
- 21:01Speaker 4: I'm texting her get the fuck out of here. Just
- 21:04Speaker 4: go cross street. El Treido's Cross Street. So we didn't
- 21:07Speaker 4: do anything wrong. But yeah, I just I know where
- 21:09Speaker 4: this is going.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 4: By the way, I've lost six packages through ups FedEx mail,
- 21:14Speaker 4: one for a quarter million dollars. It's all verifiable in
- 21:16Speaker 4: the reports. A mafia guy sent me a quarter million.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I thought he'd lied. Later I found out it was true.
- 21:21Speaker 4: He did mail me the money. They just the government
- 21:23Speaker 4: took it. Anyway, long story short, she leaves. Now the
- 21:28Speaker 4: other agent comes back and he goes, where's your girlfriend
- 21:31Speaker 4: because weren't married.
- 21:32Speaker 5: Then I said, uh.
- 21:34Speaker 4: I don't know, you know, because you don't have to
- 21:36Speaker 4: answer anything, right. And then there's another attractive woman, maybe
- 21:39Speaker 4: another ten feet over. They grab her, take us back,
- 21:43Speaker 4: separate us. She's obviously you could hear. I don't know
- 21:48Speaker 4: this guy. I don't know what you're talking about. God,
- 21:50Speaker 4: they went through all her luggage. Okay, separate us. I
- 21:53Speaker 4: won't let us talk because they think we're together, which
- 21:55Speaker 4: we're not. And then I grabbed my leg. They let
- 21:57Speaker 4: us grab our luggage. I have luggage. Now, I have
- 21:59Speaker 4: women's clothing, my wife's stuff. And they see she has
- 22:02Speaker 4: their stuff, so they clearly have realized by now something's wrong, right,
- 22:07Speaker 4: And then they're asking me where's the money, and I said,
- 22:09Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 22:10Speaker 5: I just got on the plane. I don't have to
- 22:11Speaker 5: answer these questions. You know.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Basically I'm being kind but a dick, you know. And
- 22:17Speaker 4: so they go throw all the luggers and they well,
- 22:19Speaker 4: why do you have women's clothing?
- 22:20Speaker 5: I go andthing goes to Vegas.
- 22:21Speaker 4: I always got to be a smart ass ude, right right,
- 22:23Speaker 4: like Sir Am I being arrested, Like what did I do?
- 22:25Speaker 4: And they're like, you're not being arrested. So I get
- 22:28Speaker 4: all my stuff and then let me go. So of
- 22:30Speaker 4: course I get my car out of valet, I go
- 22:32Speaker 4: pick up my wife. I'm making sure I'm not being
- 22:34Speaker 4: tailed because she has the money. I get home and
- 22:36Speaker 4: I get rid of it.
- 22:37Speaker 5: Okay.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Now the reason I tell you that story is six
- 22:40Speaker 4: months later, the story you're asking about is occurring. I
- 22:44Speaker 4: know that if I go through any TSA, they're grabbing
- 22:48Speaker 4: the money because what they do is the government's smart.
- 22:51Speaker 4: They take your money if you're doing anything in the
- 22:52Speaker 4: gray area, and they make you claim it. And we
- 22:55Speaker 4: all know that if you're doing ending gray, if you
- 22:57Speaker 4: can't really claim anything, or you don't even want to
- 22:59Speaker 4: go anyway, let's be real, you just let it go.
- 23:02Speaker 4: So if they take it, it's gone, right, so I
- 23:04Speaker 4: don't declare it. So in the Bahamas they have US customs,
- 23:08Speaker 4: unlike most places.
- 23:09Speaker 5: You fly home first, and.
- 23:11Speaker 4: I think that's because we own part of the Bahama
- 23:13Speaker 4: or whatever the treaty or whatever it is. Anyway I
- 23:15Speaker 4: go through there, I get flagged, surprise, surprise, pulled aside.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Do you have over ten thousand US currency. I said, yes, sir,
- 23:22Speaker 4: I do Why did.
- 23:22Speaker 5: You answer no?
- 23:23Speaker 4: I said, it's five point thirty in the morning, I'm tired,
- 23:25Speaker 4: I'm hungover, and give him some bullshit. He says, okay,
- 23:29Speaker 4: well that's failure to declare. I said, okay, no problem.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I'm assuming there's going to take the money.
- 23:34Speaker 5: Right.
- 23:35Speaker 4: So we get back in the back room. Our flight's
- 23:37Speaker 4: already gone and my wife's like, hey, we're going to
- 23:40Speaker 4: miss our flight. Can we book another one. He's like, oh,
- 23:42Speaker 4: oh no, no, we're going to turn you over the
- 23:44Speaker 4: Bohemian government.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 23:47Speaker 4: And I said, well, I don't understand you're taking the money, Like,
- 23:53Speaker 4: what did we do wrong? It's a failure to declare,
- 23:55Speaker 4: which is a felony. Didn't know that. I said, okay, honey,
- 24:00Speaker 4: go and book a flight. I'll deal with this. And
- 24:02Speaker 4: she's like, no, I'm not leaving you here. And the
- 24:04Speaker 4: guy says no, you guys are both going the station.
- 24:07Speaker 4: And I said, well, what does she do. Well, she's
- 24:10Speaker 4: with you, she's traveling with you. She's guilty of the
- 24:13Speaker 4: same crime. I said, huh, I said, what are you
- 24:15Speaker 4: talking about. So next you know, we're in a Bohemian station.
- 24:20Speaker 4: They drive us to a station in a van. We
- 24:22Speaker 4: get to the station and they let me speak to
- 24:24Speaker 4: the US embassy. US embassy did absolutely nothing. They asked
- 24:27Speaker 4: what I did and what the crime was. They realized
- 24:29Speaker 4: it was minor in their eyes, right, It wasn't like
- 24:32Speaker 4: I was going to be held for whatever. So the
- 24:36Speaker 4: guy says, stand up please, and then the guard comes
- 24:38Speaker 4: around puts us in cuffs. My wife is hysterical. She's bawling.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Never been handcuffed in her whole life. We're in a
- 24:44Speaker 4: Bohemian jail. They take us back to holding cell. There's
- 24:48Speaker 4: like six cells. She gets placed with a woman who's
- 24:51Speaker 4: on crack, is just literally shaking. I go in a
- 24:54Speaker 4: cell with a guy who just's Canadian who just grabbed
- 24:57Speaker 4: a waitress's ass. So in Baja Mars, they threw him
- 25:00Speaker 4: in jail and then aside from us as three Bohemians who.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Did I don't know what they did anyway.
- 25:06Speaker 4: So they're heckling my wife because they could see her
- 25:08Speaker 4: from this cell, and they're just being fucking punks, and
- 25:11Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, So here we are, and about three
- 25:14Speaker 4: hours go by. Now they transport us to the prison.
- 25:19Speaker 4: So we get there and my wife starts hyperventilating, and
- 25:21Speaker 4: I feel the most.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Helpless I've ever felt in my life. Oh and I'm
- 25:25Speaker 5: trying to.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Beg I'm begging him just please just let her go,
- 25:27Speaker 4: like she did nothing. I don't even know what they're
- 25:29Speaker 4: doing with me, but I mean, you know, come on, really,
- 25:32Speaker 4: you're gonna put her in prison. So we get there
- 25:35Speaker 4: and they take three guys out of a cell who
- 25:38Speaker 4: are shackled, and she sees that and then she literally
- 25:41Speaker 4: goes into I would call it almost convulsions. And then
- 25:44Speaker 4: the warden says, are you a threat to harm yourself?
- 25:46Speaker 4: And she's like no, and I said, yeah, yeah, I
- 25:51Speaker 4: mean clearly that's a positive.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Sure, he's trying to offer some help here, So she says,
- 25:57Speaker 4: oh okay. So he allows her to go back to
- 26:00Speaker 4: the other jail cell because she's coastrophobic, and he's now
- 26:04Speaker 4: we're in a prison, right, So they drive her back
- 26:07Speaker 4: and they put me in a prison cell. It's a
- 26:10Speaker 4: two blocks ailet toilet that doesn't work. Three guys in there.
- 26:15Speaker 4: It's two man cell. Two guys are laying down. So
- 26:17Speaker 4: I sit in a corner and there's fecies everywhere. There's
- 26:22Speaker 4: about seven water bottles full of piss, and that's where
- 26:26Speaker 4: you go to the bathroom in and they say, what's up, Cracker?
- 26:28Speaker 4: So here we go, you know, And luckily they didn't
- 26:31Speaker 4: want any problems. But I stood in a little corner
- 26:34Speaker 4: and just waited. No water, no food, no explanation. No
- 26:39Speaker 4: I don't know where my wife is, and I have
- 26:40Speaker 4: no idea how long I'm sitting there.
- 26:42Speaker 5: So this was.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Sunday, like maybe I would say about one o'clock in
- 26:46Speaker 4: the afternoon. Finally we ended up in the prison because
- 26:48Speaker 4: we went the airport like six in the morning. Long
- 26:51Speaker 4: story short, Monday, A whole day goes by Monday. They
- 26:54Speaker 4: pulled me out, drive me to the courthouse because it
- 26:57Speaker 4: was Sunday. That's why I couldn't see a judge. Go
- 27:00Speaker 4: in front of a judge. This is the crazy part
- 27:02Speaker 4: of the story. They said, mister Boyer, you owe five
- 27:05Speaker 4: thousand dollars fine for each of you, and you have
- 27:08Speaker 4: to pay an attorney if you like to hire an attorney.
- 27:10Speaker 4: I said, yes, I'd like an attorney. Okay, we happen
- 27:12Speaker 4: to have two in the back of the courtroom so
- 27:15Speaker 4: that she allows us to go speak to these two attorneys,
- 27:17Speaker 4: choose one. So we need twelve thousand dollars to pay
- 27:21Speaker 4: all the fines and get this over with. Go back
- 27:25Speaker 4: in front of the judge. Okay, here's my America's we
- 27:27Speaker 4: don't take an American Express. Okay, well, it's two o'clock in
- 27:30Speaker 4: the afternoon. I cannot get you a dollar. You've taken
- 27:33Speaker 4: all one hundred and sixty five thousand. What can you do?
- 27:36Speaker 4: I said, the only thing I can do is go
- 27:37Speaker 4: back to the casino. And she says, well, then you're
- 27:41Speaker 4: going to have to go back to jail until someone
- 27:43Speaker 4: wires you the money. And I said, ma'am, I have
- 27:46Speaker 4: the money. You're not taking the credit card. You took
- 27:48Speaker 4: all my money.
- 27:49Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 27:50Speaker 4: So the lawyer says, your honor, would you allow the
- 27:53Speaker 4: guests to go back to Baha Mah and pull from
- 27:56Speaker 4: this credit line. She says, yes. Oh wow, get in
- 28:00Speaker 4: a police car. My wife isn't a holding cell.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Oh believable.
- 28:03Speaker 4: They put the siren on the car because they know
- 28:05Speaker 4: of limited time. It's now two thirty, right, I have
- 28:07Speaker 4: to be back by four to pay the fines before
- 28:10Speaker 4: the court closes.
- 28:11Speaker 5: We drive probably like a race car. Truly.
- 28:14Speaker 4: The police guy, we're really understanding my situation. I walk
- 28:18Speaker 4: into Baja mar Casino. I'm dirty because even though it
- 28:21Speaker 4: was only day and a half, you're sweaty, it's gross,
- 28:23Speaker 4: it's hot, there's no ac in there, and it's feces.
- 28:26Speaker 4: I'm really litterally dirty. I look at a castaway. I
- 28:29Speaker 4: walk up to the cage. I walk right up. I say, hi, maam,
- 28:32Speaker 4: I'd like to extract Matt Boyer. I'm having some serious
- 28:35Speaker 4: trauma right now. I'm like telling her what's going on.
- 28:37Speaker 5: I'd like twelve.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Thousand dollars please, right, Bill, you know this, Sorry, mister
- 28:41Speaker 4: boy you're just one one hundred and sixty five thousand,
- 28:43Speaker 4: and you can't. We can't give you twelve thousand dollars
- 28:46Speaker 4: the one.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Month and I get it. So you have to use
- 28:48Speaker 2: that money first before you go back to your credit line.
- 28:50Speaker 5: Right yeah, wow, So she says.
- 28:52Speaker 4: I said, well, I understand that, but this is a
- 28:54Speaker 4: little different situation. It's twelve grand I'm good for it.
- 28:57Speaker 4: I have a million dollar credit line. She says, well, unfortunately,
- 28:59Speaker 4: we can't do that. I said, well, please get me
- 29:01Speaker 4: the manager. I think Perry Ante wasn't there. Ben Slepian
- 29:04Speaker 4: was my host. Ben tried not, there's to no avail.
- 29:08Speaker 4: So I said to her, I said, so you're telling
- 29:11Speaker 4: me the only way that I can get out of
- 29:13Speaker 4: this country and get thing is to go gamble. She says,
- 29:18Speaker 4: I can't tell you what to do, right. So I
- 29:20Speaker 4: turn around. There's an officer standing ten feet behind me.
- 29:23Speaker 4: I'm not exaggerating. I walk over to the table, black check, table,
- 29:27Speaker 4: buck rat, and I tell the officer I'm sorry, sir,
- 29:29Speaker 4: I have to go here because he doesn't even unerstand
- 29:30Speaker 4: what's going on. They don't know what's going I said,
- 29:32Speaker 4: I need to go over here to get the money, right.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I walk over twelve thousand first hand, Oh you took
- 29:37Speaker 4: a worker for twelve twelve thousand?
- 29:39Speaker 5: What do you think happened?
- 29:40Speaker 2: Loose?
- 29:40Speaker 4: Loser? Twenty four thousand? Second, what do you think happened?
- 29:43Speaker 4: Oh my god, god, loose forty eight thousand, Oh, loose, God,
- 29:47Speaker 4: this is the lost all three hands.
- 29:49Speaker 5: I are a banker. What do you want?
- 29:50Speaker 4: I don't really, I'll be honest with you. Those are
- 29:53Speaker 4: the three worst hands. I've been more nervous in my
- 29:55Speaker 4: entire life, right, any gamble I've ever had in my
- 29:57Speaker 4: whole life, you're finally sweating six million dollars. Didn't even
- 30:00Speaker 4: touch that. Wow, swear are my kids?
- 30:02Speaker 2: Wow?
- 30:02Speaker 4: That's how nervous I was. I'm shaking now because every
- 30:05Speaker 4: loss means I got to win the next hand. And
- 30:07Speaker 4: now in a point where I can't bet enough to
- 30:08Speaker 4: win it back.
- 30:09Speaker 2: That's right, there's limits.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Here comes the.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Manager running up to the table, mister Barriam Spoier. It's okay,
- 30:14Speaker 4: it's okay, you don't have to play. It's okay. Let
- 30:17Speaker 4: me walk you the cage. So we walked through the
- 30:19Speaker 4: cage and now he gives me the twelve thousand.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Oh wow, the two.
- 30:23Speaker 4: I got twelve because I wanted two pocket change it
- 30:25Speaker 4: was ten grand. Drives me back to the courthouse. I
- 30:27Speaker 4: make it by four to ten, we pay, they release us.
- 30:31Speaker 4: We had to have a flight confirmation that leave the
- 30:33Speaker 4: country as we're being deported, and I get home and
- 30:36Speaker 4: I had to wire them the money I had lost
- 30:39Speaker 4: and the marker I took out, so not only lose
- 30:41Speaker 4: the one sixty five I had to pay, it was
- 30:43Speaker 4: like just under one hundred grand. What a harsh yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 4: And that was my story of going through that's in
- 30:48Speaker 4: the book one hundred percent of the whole story.
- 30:50Speaker 5: And what made him change it? Like, why did he.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Because he had the authority to make that decision someone Yeah,
- 30:56Speaker 4: came with someone with a serious authority. Yeah, like everyone
- 30:59Speaker 4: else couldn't approve that clearly, And it wasn't alex Perante
- 31:03Speaker 4: actually was like someone just below him. I think I
- 31:05Speaker 4: actually put in the book it was alex Prante because
- 31:07Speaker 4: I couldn't think of the guy's name. But it really
- 31:09Speaker 4: wasn't because Periente was not there.
- 31:11Speaker 1: So did did you know you made a mistake? He
- 31:15Speaker 1: didn't declare the money. Did they get to keep the money?
- 31:17Speaker 1: You still didn't get it back?
- 31:18Speaker 4: Oh?
- 31:18Speaker 5: No, the money was long gone, so.
- 31:20Speaker 2: You don't get even though you made a mistake. Who
- 31:22Speaker 2: keeps the money in the country.
- 31:23Speaker 5: The Bohemian government kept it.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Wow, And that was my big fear in Dominican Republic,
- 31:27Speaker 1: as they said five thousand dollars to get out of
- 31:29Speaker 1: the country, right, you have to give five thousand of
- 31:31Speaker 1: the money up.
- 31:31Speaker 4: I actually believe because we both have been to both locations.
- 31:35Speaker 4: I believe Dominican is much more gray area than even
- 31:38Speaker 4: the Bahamas. Like as far as paying people off the Bahamas,
- 31:43Speaker 4: I believe they kept the money clearly, but I was
- 31:46Speaker 4: told that the Bohemian government, or I should say, the
- 31:49Speaker 4: customs agents are told when customers went a lot of money, yes,
- 31:53Speaker 4: to see if they declare it wow, because it happens
- 31:56Speaker 4: all the time, but they usually just take the money wow.
- 31:58Speaker 5: So I wasn't even worried.
- 31:59Speaker 4: I was okay, I just got fucks for one hundred
- 32:01Speaker 4: and sixty five K. That sucks. I won the money,
- 32:04Speaker 4: I had a great time. Whatever my fault, I should
- 32:06Speaker 4: have wired it wow.
- 32:07Speaker 2: And the most thing you feel about about is your
- 32:09Speaker 2: wife or your.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Girl, oh, absolutely dragging him down.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And what was the movie with the Turkish yell? Like
- 32:14Speaker 2: I went to you for a little bit of pot.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I mean it was just that thinking of those kind
- 32:18Speaker 1: of scenes you say to yourself, Oh my god, I
- 32:22Speaker 1: bet you she's never went back again.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Ironically, we went back for our bachelor bcerette party I
- 32:26Speaker 4: Love It forty five days later. But she did not
- 32:29Speaker 4: want to and I said, Babe, we've already let's not
- 32:32Speaker 4: let this. It's kind of at the point of my book,
- 32:34Speaker 4: like you can't let something in your life, you know,
- 32:37Speaker 4: derail you and change who you are. Like of course
- 32:40Speaker 4: I understand why she want to go back, but it
- 32:42Speaker 4: was more like, why I should we should go back?
- 32:44Speaker 4: We'll do it right. I will never I promise her.
- 32:47Speaker 4: I will never go through an airport with over ten
- 32:49Speaker 4: thousand dollars, right, and I won't as I've learned my lesson,
- 32:52Speaker 4: just like unfortunately, I'll never be taking a sports about
- 32:55Speaker 4: the rest of my life.
- 32:56Speaker 5: I will take my might make one one day. Sure,
- 32:58Speaker 5: I will not.
- 32:59Speaker 4: And it's not because I'm just not going to put myself.
- 33:01Speaker 5: In that position.
- 33:02Speaker 4: You know the risk reward, you know all the negatives
- 33:05Speaker 4: I'm dealing with.
- 33:05Speaker 5: It's just I'll never do it again.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And what did you Now, let's go back, let's let's
- 33:09Speaker 1: go fast forward a little bit. So you had these
- 33:12Speaker 1: big customers and you had little customers. You had agents
- 33:14Speaker 1: all over the place, which I never knew.
- 33:16Speaker 2: I thought it was you. I didn't think. Yeah, I
- 33:17Speaker 2: don't think I.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Had thy eight agents, eight agent I did you know
- 33:20Speaker 4: some of them only had eight players.
- 33:22Speaker 5: I'm had fifty big operation.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Yeah, let's talk about wager Wire and this is their
- 33:26Speaker 1: segment here, this parlay boy. You know I'm tough on parlays,
- 33:31Speaker 1: this particular one.
- 33:32Speaker 2: So it's a.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Four teamer into Miami, which they already won. That's plus
- 33:36Speaker 1: one ninety five Mexico Gold Cup winner plus one eighty five.
- 33:40Speaker 1: The Lynx WNBA, they're currently the favorite. They're plus one
- 33:44Speaker 1: forty on this and Buffalo were in a Super Bowl
- 33:45Speaker 1: plus seven to one. So the current bet offer, I
- 33:49Speaker 1: was thinking to myself, Wow, it seems like it's pretty
- 33:51Speaker 1: low considered the first two legs, and it's fifty dollars
- 33:54Speaker 1: to win. Eleven thousand and five. Seventy is a true number.
- 33:57Speaker 1: So the current bet offer is six hundred and thirteen.
- 34:00Speaker 1: At wager Wire. The cash out offer is for twenty two,
- 34:04Speaker 1: so it's a fifty percent boost from the offer that
- 34:08Speaker 1: the sportsbook wants to give you. Of course, through the
- 34:11Speaker 1: wager Wire app and wager Wire they give you more.
- 34:14Speaker 1: But I look at this bet, I'm not cashing this out.
- 34:18Speaker 1: The Links are currently the favorite to win a WNBA
- 34:21Speaker 1: winner title and the Bills. A lot of the wise
- 34:24Speaker 1: guys like the Bills this year, so I think closer
- 34:27Speaker 1: towards the Super Bowl, if you get the Links in there,
- 34:30Speaker 1: you're gonna get a good buyout offer from wager Wire.
- 34:32Speaker 1: So I'm going to say, don't take the money, right
- 34:35Speaker 1: now and that five hundred and sixty to sixty three
- 34:37Speaker 1: dollars profit, do not take it. Let's continue this parlay,
- 34:41Speaker 1: you guys, and hopefully the links get there and you
- 34:43Speaker 1: can make a lot more money with the Buffalo bills
- 34:46Speaker 1: for the Super Bowl, or you can actually sell it
- 34:49Speaker 1: right before the Super Bowl.
- 34:51Speaker 2: So what did you do?
- 34:53Speaker 1: Like, how did this come about where you had these
- 34:55Speaker 1: big players and you had actually now everyone wants to
- 34:59Speaker 1: know Tani's his assistant, the shock.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Correct, Yeah, how did you get him? What's his story?
- 35:04Speaker 4: So my good friend, in fact, he called just a
- 35:07Speaker 4: minute ago. He has a really good relationship with David Fletcher,
- 35:12Speaker 4: you know, who obviously played for the Angels, and we're
- 35:15Speaker 4: all buddies and we go golfing and gamble on the.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Golf course and hang out.
- 35:18Speaker 4: And in that relationship he developed, you know, more ballplayer relationships.
- 35:22Speaker 4: So anyway, we went to a Padres Angels game back
- 35:25Speaker 4: in twenty twenty one, and we would we would go
- 35:27Speaker 4: to spring training with these guys. I'd go to the
- 35:30Speaker 4: Arizona Casinos with them, hang out, play blackchack whatever, and
- 35:33Speaker 4: then we play golf. Of course, that day we went
- 35:36Speaker 4: to the game, and then that night after the game,
- 35:38Speaker 4: we went to their private I'm gonna call it private
- 35:41Speaker 4: poker game, but it really is just the players come
- 35:44Speaker 4: back to the hotel and they just won lost whatever.
- 35:47Speaker 4: They go, you know, eat some pizza and play cards.
- 35:49Speaker 4: It's something I think all NBA, I mean, they play
- 35:52Speaker 4: on the planes. It's just, let's be honest, they all gamble, sure,
- 35:56Speaker 4: you know, so I shouldn't say they all most Yeah,
- 35:59Speaker 4: long story short, was there interpreter and he was on
- 36:02Speaker 4: his phone putting in bets, you know, literally on soccer games.
- 36:05Speaker 5: Sure, so my buddy's like, hey, you know, Mat can
- 36:07Speaker 5: help you with that, you know. You know.
- 36:10Speaker 4: That introduction led to, of course him starting with a
- 36:13Speaker 4: small account one thousand and eight thousand dollars credit line,
- 36:15Speaker 4: which turned into three hundred thousand, was turned into five
- 36:17Speaker 4: hundred thousand, and then ended up being forty million.
- 36:19Speaker 2: So he had a three hundred thousand dollars credit line.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Or well, initially eight thousand. He was betting one thousand
- 36:24Speaker 4: dollars a game. His first bet, which it's all public.
- 36:27Speaker 4: They put out every text message, everything, one thousand dollars
- 36:30Speaker 4: on a Turkish soccer game, right and literally, and then
- 36:33Speaker 4: it turned into he blew the eight thousand, asked more credit.
- 36:35Speaker 5: I gave it to him.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Sure, Let's be honest, I didn't think the interpreter for
- 36:39Speaker 4: Hoheatani was against stiff me. Sure, and I standed his
- 36:42Speaker 4: credit line and got to three hundred. Then he paid it.
- 36:44Speaker 4: He paid this wired me three hundred K. Then he
- 36:46Speaker 4: asked for five hundred. Well shit, he just paid me
- 36:49Speaker 4: three hure and he's clearly a bad gambler, so greedy wise,
- 36:52Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, I'll gi Hi five hundreds.
- 36:53Speaker 5: I give five hundred.
- 36:54Speaker 4: He blows out, he pays, and he asked for another
- 36:57Speaker 4: five hundred, another five hundred, and as he's losing, he's like.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Look, I'm going to always pay you.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Just give me more credit because I can't get access
- 37:04Speaker 4: to the money instantly all the time to send million
- 37:07Speaker 4: dollar wires. I didn't care, you know, I didn't ask
- 37:10Speaker 4: who was from. And to be honest, I didn't even
- 37:12Speaker 4: know what Shohiatani untill like the third wire.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Right.
- 37:14Speaker 5: Once I saw that name, I was like, holy shit, the.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Wire came from Atani.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Yes, you've seen a wire from from and you must
- 37:23Speaker 1: have been like, oh my god, this is this is
- 37:25Speaker 1: one of the biggest players ever in the history of baseball.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Well, to me is like I had two feelings, right.
- 37:29Speaker 4: The first feeling is the greed side of me is like, Wow,
- 37:32Speaker 4: I'm never gonna worry about gettingaid. I have the best
- 37:34Speaker 4: customer in the planet. Yeah, because he clearly wasn't good
- 37:36Speaker 4: at gambling. And then the second part of me is like, oh,
- 37:40Speaker 4: this is going to put eyes on me and this
- 37:43Speaker 4: could be bad. And then I was like, I better
- 37:45Speaker 4: make sure he's not bet in baseball. So I went
- 37:47Speaker 4: checked and there's no baseball bats, thank god. So I
- 37:49Speaker 4: was like, all right, you know, I mean, this is.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Really bet in soccer, which is the biggest bet sport
- 37:53Speaker 1: in the world.
- 37:53Speaker 2: People don't realize that.
- 37:54Speaker 3: By far was it Ashley Otani making the bets, though
- 37:58Speaker 3: it was always the interpreter.
- 37:59Speaker 5: Definite, he was the interpreter.
- 38:01Speaker 4: As far as this is the part that's still in
- 38:04Speaker 4: my opinion in question, did Otani know that the interpreter
- 38:07Speaker 4: was gambling and to the level he was And did
- 38:09Speaker 4: he steal his money or borrow it or that part
- 38:13Speaker 4: to me is still in question. But clearly it's known
- 38:16Speaker 4: that he stole the money, and that's when he's in prison,
- 38:17Speaker 4: which I feel terrible for to be honest, because I'm
- 38:20Speaker 4: a greedy guy.
- 38:21Speaker 5: I love money.
- 38:22Speaker 4: I'm not going to act like I don't. But I
- 38:23Speaker 4: definitely don't want to be part of a fraud scheme
- 38:26Speaker 4: or I didn't want to affect baseball or Showhey a
- 38:29Speaker 4: Tani's you know tarnish name.
- 38:30Speaker 5: I mean that I hate to say about I have
- 38:32Speaker 5: some playing that you know, not on purpose. Sure, but
- 38:36Speaker 5: that bothers me.
- 38:37Speaker 2: And he went to jail right now, he get like
- 38:39Speaker 2: five years.
- 38:39Speaker 5: Yeah, he's in prison fifty seven months.
- 38:41Speaker 2: And that's you must feel terrible. The guy you were
- 38:43Speaker 2: dealing all the.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Time, a very honorable guy. I think you would have
- 38:46Speaker 4: paid every dollar. I didn't know he was stealing the money. Sure,
- 38:49Speaker 4: people ask me, well, how'd you give an interpreter who
- 38:51Speaker 4: makes two hundred grand a year forty million dollars in credit?
- 38:54Speaker 4: I'm like, well, I didn't ask who it was. I
- 38:57Speaker 4: never one thing about it. Being a bookmaker, at least
- 38:59Speaker 4: for me, was you don't get personal. Yeah, I mean
- 39:01Speaker 4: I have a relationship, but it's it's very business savvy,
- 39:04Speaker 4: and my job is to give them a service and
- 39:06Speaker 4: their job is to use the service. Right, of course,
- 39:09Speaker 4: I don't want people to blow their brains out and
- 39:10Speaker 4: lose more money than they can afford. But I can't
- 39:13Speaker 4: control what they're telling me. I can't control where they're
- 39:14Speaker 4: getting their money. And to be honest, it's not my business. Yeah,
- 39:17Speaker 4: I mean, yes it.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Is, but it's not.
- 39:19Speaker 1: And in the book it actually says that I believe
- 39:22Speaker 1: Atani was on the mound pitching.
- 39:23Speaker 2: He was.
- 39:24Speaker 5: I went to a game, that's right.
- 39:25Speaker 1: And there's bets coming in as he's pitching. Yeah, and
- 39:28Speaker 1: you really if that's why I realized, if you had
- 39:30Speaker 1: any little inkling that may be him, you knew it was.
- 39:33Speaker 4: That's exactly the moment I really, to be honest, he
- 39:35Speaker 4: was pitching that night as Angel game here, and I
- 39:38Speaker 4: was like, I need to find out excuse me, I
- 39:42Speaker 4: need to make sure that Shohe Atani is not putting
- 39:45Speaker 4: these bets in without asking, because I really didn't want
- 39:47Speaker 4: to know. So I went to the game and I
- 39:50Speaker 4: was watching the pitch and I'm on my website and
- 39:53Speaker 4: Turkish soccer games and you know, all this bets are firing,
- 39:56Speaker 4: and I'm like, you know, that guy is very talented,
- 39:58Speaker 4: but I promise you he can't be on a cell
- 40:00Speaker 4: phone and probably shit at the same time, so I knew,
- 40:04Speaker 4: and then I was.
- 40:04Speaker 5: Like, Okay, what crack you know this?
- 40:07Speaker 4: Maybe they're partners on account, but let's be honest, either
- 40:10Speaker 4: you gamble or you don't. Right, And he's known to
- 40:13Speaker 4: be a guy who's never gambled, and you've been known,
- 40:16Speaker 4: as I have, as a guy who always gambles. So
- 40:19Speaker 4: you know, if John doesn't gamble, he never has. Right,
- 40:22Speaker 4: He's not gonna all of a sudden start betting forty
- 40:23Speaker 4: million dollars on sports.
- 40:25Speaker 5: This is not gonna happen.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and Otani easily could not have known. I'm going
- 40:29Speaker 1: to use this example and you can cut it if
- 40:30Speaker 1: you want. John's dad, Tony Orlando. Yeah, he had how
- 40:33Speaker 1: much stolen from him?
- 40:34Speaker 2: Ten million?
- 40:35Speaker 5: Yeah, over over fourteen years and.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Fourteen year span. His assistant, his right hand man, his
- 40:40Speaker 1: account stole fourteen million of his will. Yeah, and he
- 40:43Speaker 1: didn't realize.
- 40:44Speaker 5: Yeah. That that's something I was going to bring up.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Is you know I used to own a PR firm
- 40:47Speaker 3: and I represented I won't say names, but I represented
- 40:50Speaker 3: a lot of NFL Hall of famers, a lot of
- 40:52Speaker 3: Olympic gold medalists, world record holders, and I had a
- 40:57Speaker 3: lot of clients for many, many years, and came very
- 41:00Speaker 3: good friends with them, as you probably became good friends
- 41:02Speaker 3: with your clients. Of course, you've become good friends. It's
- 41:05Speaker 3: just what happens. And when you have the trust of
- 41:08Speaker 3: someone that is high profile. I absolutely had access to
- 41:13Speaker 3: I had American Express cards, I had credit card numbers
- 41:16Speaker 3: because somebody's you're booking. You know, you're the publicist, but
- 41:19Speaker 3: you're also the personal assistant in many in many cases,
- 41:22Speaker 3: and you're booking rent a car and rooms and flights
- 41:25Speaker 3: and stuff and co dinner reservations and the it's a
- 41:28Speaker 3: big party, so you have to give someone a credit
- 41:30Speaker 3: card number to hold the table and all that stuff.
- 41:32Speaker 3: And I had, I could have. I could have done
- 41:34Speaker 3: the same type of thing on a much smaller scale.
- 41:37Speaker 3: But still you're talking about millions of dollars. Of course,
- 41:40Speaker 3: it's so easy to do the people that, because I've
- 41:43Speaker 3: read when the story first broke, people commenting, how could
- 41:46Speaker 3: he not see fourteen million missing or whatever the number.
- 41:50Speaker 5: It's so easy. They're busy, man, They're not only that, John,
- 41:54Speaker 5: take it another step.
- 41:55Speaker 4: What I've this is my assumption, but what I've figured
- 41:57Speaker 4: out is, sorry to interrupt, you No, no, you're good.
- 42:00Speaker 4: The wires. When he I would I would ask to
- 42:03Speaker 4: be paid. Of course he had me twenty four million
- 42:04Speaker 4: dollars to this day, holy, you know that's what That's
- 42:07Speaker 4: what I'm still old.
- 42:08Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Ye I never got paid twenty four million. So he
- 42:12Speaker 4: was sending like five hundred k at a time, a
- 42:14Speaker 4: couple of times a million dollars, but mostly five hundred K.
- 42:16Speaker 4: And he'd always say in epay, hey man, yeah, I
- 42:20Speaker 4: should be able to get that wire to you next week.
- 42:22Speaker 4: And I realize now because I didn't know this till later.
- 42:26Speaker 4: He was waiting on the angels to pay. That's what
- 42:28Speaker 4: it was, because that account, from my I'm pretty put
- 42:32Speaker 4: it all together was his angel's money. Of course, he
- 42:35Speaker 4: had a separate account endorsement money, which is way bigger
- 42:37Speaker 4: than maybe the angels.
- 42:38Speaker 5: Oh yeah, So you know, people were like, how does
- 42:41Speaker 5: he have notice?
- 42:42Speaker 4: I get what you're saying, because if you have let's
- 42:45Speaker 4: call it, what sixteen seventeen million in this account, but
- 42:47Speaker 4: you have one hundred and fifty million in this one,
- 42:50Speaker 4: this is the one you're you know, show he is
- 42:51Speaker 4: probably paying his bills or whatever. Sure, this one's just
- 42:54Speaker 4: like it's your angel's paycheck, right, I mean, when you're
- 42:57Speaker 4: that wealthy.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and there's probably so much activity either way, people
- 43:01Speaker 3: moving money. What imagine, no one catches it. And he's
- 43:04Speaker 3: the interpreter at the end of the day, he's the
- 43:06Speaker 3: he's the go between, right right, so he can even
- 43:10Speaker 3: I don't know if this happened in this case, but
- 43:12Speaker 3: like if there are business managers are involved, there are
- 43:15Speaker 3: other people looking at show Hayes money, you're still dealing
- 43:17Speaker 3: with the interpreter. He's busy playing baseball, so he very
- 43:21Speaker 3: easily can fire off a text and say, hey, show
- 43:23Speaker 3: Hay said this.
- 43:24Speaker 5: And you're not going to question it.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Orse, it's interpreter, and he wasn't even I don't know
- 43:28Speaker 4: if you guys know this, but he got caught calling
- 43:30Speaker 4: the bank acting as show Hey and doing things initiating
- 43:33Speaker 4: wires and et cetera.
- 43:34Speaker 2: So clearly, how much did he pay you? How much?
- 43:37Speaker 5: Team point two million?
- 43:38Speaker 2: So he paid just sixteen million dollars.
- 43:40Speaker 5: Biggest client ever oh by far.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, sixteen million. And let's face it, in the end,
- 43:45Speaker 2: the casinos got the money they did. I lost it
- 43:47Speaker 2: all to resort to me. I lost thirty casinos get
- 43:49Speaker 2: to keep the money.
- 43:50Speaker 1: All of these things you see American greed, these different shows,
- 43:53Speaker 1: a lot of them are on gambling, and in the end,
- 43:55Speaker 1: the casinos get all the money.
- 43:56Speaker 2: How nice.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I can get the thirteen and change to them. Wow,
- 44:00Speaker 4: you know over about two year period of maybe year
- 44:02Speaker 4: and a half.
- 44:03Speaker 5: And of course you know this.
- 44:05Speaker 4: I mean, the casinos are the ones that are still
- 44:08Speaker 4: fighting with the government right now in this current case
- 44:10Speaker 4: that I have. But I'm the one going to prison,
- 44:13Speaker 4: and I take account of I really do take accountability
- 44:16Speaker 4: for my own actions. But it's kind of sad that
- 44:18Speaker 4: the casino got away with all the money and then
- 44:20Speaker 4: they have yet to even you know, have any accountability.
- 44:23Speaker 1: And I'm sure the government came to you with a
- 44:25Speaker 1: deal and saying you can rat out your agents, write
- 44:29Speaker 1: out your customers, even they want to get other cases
- 44:31Speaker 1: and other money is involved, of course, and we'll give
- 44:33Speaker 1: you no time.
- 44:34Speaker 4: I definitely could have I could have stepped on a
- 44:36Speaker 4: lot of people's throats, for sure. I know forty book
- 44:39Speaker 4: makers across the country that are very big and have
- 44:41Speaker 4: a lot of money and can be exposed, and I
- 44:44Speaker 4: would not talk about any of them, and there's some
- 44:46Speaker 4: articles that we were talking about earlier that just came out.
- 44:49Speaker 4: Damian the Forbes, who also is in this case, is
- 44:52Speaker 4: a great friend of mine. I was gambling with him.
- 44:54Speaker 4: It's a very known fact that he was a bookmaker,
- 44:56Speaker 4: and it's very obvious. So I could say that now.
- 44:59Speaker 4: But when and the government comes in and seizes your
- 45:01Speaker 4: electronic devices, that's evidence.
- 45:04Speaker 5: Right.
- 45:04Speaker 4: You can say that you don't want to give that up,
- 45:07Speaker 4: but they have it right, so they're going to use
- 45:10Speaker 4: that evidence. If that evidence leads them to other cases.
- 45:14Speaker 4: If that makes me a rat, then I'm a rat.
- 45:16Speaker 4: But in reality, I would not give up anybody. Now,
- 45:20Speaker 4: did I cooperate with the United States government in regards
- 45:22Speaker 4: to the Resorts World and the casino, Yes, absolutely, yep,
- 45:25Speaker 4: I did, and I'm guilty of that, and that definitely
- 45:27Speaker 4: helped save me from four or five year prison sense.
- 45:30Speaker 4: I'm looking at fifteen months as of now. It could
- 45:33Speaker 4: be less, could be more, who knows. But at the
- 45:35Speaker 4: end of the day, yeah, I mean the casinos are
- 45:37Speaker 4: they were involved. They understood I was a book maker.
- 45:39Speaker 4: You know this, You've been going all these casinos knew
- 45:41Speaker 4: I was a bookmaker. But I'm okay with dealing with
- 45:45Speaker 4: what I did wrong, because I did do something in
- 45:47Speaker 4: the gray area. Even if I don't agree with the laws,
- 45:49Speaker 4: I knew the law. I knew I was breaking in
- 45:50Speaker 4: my first credit line.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Around nineteen ninety nine, I'm at a casino down downtown
- 45:55Speaker 1: Las Vegas, and my buddy said, oh, if you need
- 45:58Speaker 1: some money, I'll get you a credit line.
- 45:59Speaker 2: He's just a player, a big player. And I'm like,
- 46:02Speaker 2: how do you get a credit line? How do you
- 46:03Speaker 2: do that?
- 46:03Speaker 1: H He's like, oh, no, I want to get you.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Trust me, the host will get you a credit line.
- 46:07Speaker 1: To this day, I still can't believe what happened. I
- 46:10Speaker 1: had about four thousand dollars in the bank and I
- 46:12Speaker 1: had a fifty thousand dollars line in ten minutes. I
- 46:16Speaker 1: want to tell you something.
- 46:17Speaker 5: I really didn't have a job, and that still happened today.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Though now I think, believe it or not, he probably
- 46:23Speaker 1: doesn't realize this. I think his case is instrumental why
- 46:26Speaker 1: it can't happen today, Why it can't why it cannot
- 46:28Speaker 1: happen today.
- 46:29Speaker 2: But there's no question of that fifty thousand dollars line.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I went to other casinos and opened up lines of
- 46:35Speaker 1: credit based on me borrowing and paying back. Oh, this
- 46:39Speaker 1: guy's good central credit. They never checked to see if,
- 46:42Speaker 1: like I had a job of money in the bank.
- 46:44Speaker 1: And now it happened after they checked a little bit
- 46:47Speaker 1: of course and say, hey Bill, you have to get
- 46:48Speaker 1: the fifty thousand of an account to cover your line.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Here.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Win was real strict with that. But I cannot believe
- 46:56Speaker 2: what happened back then.
- 46:57Speaker 1: That's how I got casino credit everywhere was because one
- 47:01Speaker 1: host put it in for me and got it pushed
- 47:03Speaker 1: through credit. Right.
- 47:04Speaker 2: I'm telling you, no one checked anything. I had it
- 47:05Speaker 2: the same day.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Now the KYC laws, which is know your customer laws
- 47:09Speaker 1: are casinos are really enforcing that, And I have to
- 47:13Speaker 1: tell you, I think your case is instrumental and then forcing.
- 47:15Speaker 2: That Now there's no question I casino host.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Doesn't want to go to a player and say, hey,
- 47:20Speaker 1: you know that twenty five thousand you got. They want
- 47:21Speaker 1: to know where you got it from, though, And that
- 47:23Speaker 1: just happened in Atlantic City at the hard Rock for
- 47:25Speaker 1: a friend of mine. He literally went in and with
- 47:28Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars cash and they wouldn't let him go
- 47:31Speaker 1: over ten unless he had had to prove everything. Yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 1: they had his idea, they had his stuff on file.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Now they're pushing this kyc low.
- 47:37Speaker 1: They don't want to do it. No, but I think
- 47:40Speaker 1: your case is instrumental in the resources world, the whole thing,
- 47:43Speaker 1: no doubt.
- 47:44Speaker 4: In fact, I'll even go as far to say, there
- 47:46Speaker 4: was a point where I had probably four hundred thousand
- 47:49Speaker 4: dollars in my bank account, and I had eight million
- 47:51Speaker 4: dollars in credit lines throughout the country. Here you go,
- 47:53Speaker 4: I had two million dollars at Dominican two million dollars
- 47:56Speaker 4: of Bahamas two million dollars here.
- 47:58Speaker 5: I mean, you know, did you have to float.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Markers to pay other ones? Oh?
- 48:01Speaker 1: For sure. So you have to juggle marker, You have
- 48:03Speaker 1: to take money and now you have to hope the
- 48:05Speaker 1: cash them out to pay the other casino.
- 48:07Speaker 5: Let me tell you a real quick story.
- 48:09Speaker 4: I went to I took my children to Panama, Dominican Republic,
- 48:13Speaker 4: Bahamas and Foxwoods, all on private jets in about three
- 48:18Speaker 4: week period. I owed money at the first casino two
- 48:22Speaker 4: million dollars. So I took a marker from here, one
- 48:25Speaker 4: paid this, one, went to this, one paid this one
- 48:28Speaker 4: lost here, just shuffled the whole markers and all four trips,
- 48:31Speaker 4: and I walked out of there with a free trip
- 48:33Speaker 4: to all four spots.
- 48:34Speaker 5: I have pictures of it. My kids went to Panama.
- 48:36Speaker 5: You remember Panama? Did you ever go to there?
- 48:38Speaker 3: There?
- 48:39Speaker 5: It's closed, now it's closed. I beat them for four
- 48:40Speaker 5: point four million. Wow. Yeah, that's yeah. Bakra al Bakara,
- 48:44Speaker 5: always Bakara.
- 48:45Speaker 4: Well, I played black check there, but they I got
- 48:47Speaker 4: caught counting, so they shut me off. Right Then I
- 48:50Speaker 4: beat h Cosmo, Bill McBath shut me off five point
- 48:53Speaker 4: something million.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Wow.
- 48:53Speaker 4: But then I've you know, don't get me wrong, I've
- 48:55Speaker 4: lost it many other ones like Palazzo, I lost over
- 48:57Speaker 4: three million.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Resorts were thirteen.
- 49:00Speaker 4: But my point is I was juggling all of that,
- 49:02Speaker 4: and you know this, if you work a good deal,
- 49:04Speaker 4: which is why I was the only one you I
- 49:06Speaker 4: think you know, only wanted to get my wife as
- 49:09Speaker 4: a licensed casino host.
- 49:10Speaker 5: I pulled that off. That was a smart move, a
- 49:12Speaker 5: little late in game.
- 49:13Speaker 1: In the rep instead of casino host, his wife wound
- 49:15Speaker 1: up being the rep because they get a percentage of
- 49:17Speaker 1: the THEO of the customer, or.
- 49:19Speaker 5: Or came like an independent host.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, she got license an independent rep and you
- 49:24Speaker 4: know when we would bring my entourage, let's call it
- 49:27Speaker 4: to Vegas, she would make a commission of thirty to
- 49:29Speaker 4: fifty thousand dollars. Yeah, whether I want or alt on
- 49:32Speaker 4: top of your getting a rebate, that's correct, right, So
- 49:34Speaker 4: I'm getting a twenty percent discount. Yep, she's getting her commission.
- 49:38Speaker 4: And then, of course I'm negotiating just like you did.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Bill.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Sure, I want gift cards, I want Louise you see
- 49:43Speaker 4: some of the liquor here in my house, or you know,
- 49:45Speaker 4: I want this Chanel purse for my.
- 49:47Speaker 5: Wife, or this watch. You negotiate everything.
- 49:49Speaker 4: I mean, I was king of that because I knew
- 49:52Speaker 4: that they wanted the high end business. And let's be honest,
- 49:55Speaker 4: over time, I'm going to lose anyway, so why not
- 49:57Speaker 4: negotiate the best deal. Sure, as a degenerate, I'm going
- 50:00Speaker 4: to put in the THEO I'm gonna put in the time.
- 50:03Speaker 4: So that's the only way I could even out the
- 50:05Speaker 4: odds as best I could, because, as you know, you're
- 50:08Speaker 4: going to get cut off playing you know, sharp stuff
- 50:10Speaker 4: or counting cards in blackchack.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Sure, So let's go to that date. I think it
- 50:15Speaker 1: was October fifth, twenty twenty three.
- 50:17Speaker 2: So let's go to that date. Now you're I've seen
- 50:21Speaker 2: on your on your Instagram.
- 50:22Speaker 1: We got ten million hits on the Instagram saying that
- 50:25Speaker 1: you guys were somewhere smiling, right, and then when you
- 50:27Speaker 1: got home everything changed for you.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Yeah, right, that particular weekend, if you go back and look,
- 50:32Speaker 4: I think it was October third. I was in Dallas
- 50:34Speaker 4: Cowboys game stadium. We took two jets from Resorts World.
- 50:39Speaker 4: There was sixteen of us. We flew to the stadium.
- 50:41Speaker 4: They bought a suite. I bet eight hundred thousand on
- 50:44Speaker 4: the game. I won on the Cowboys beat their shit
- 50:46Speaker 4: out of the Raiders, and I was down a million
- 50:49Speaker 4: five at the Resorts World. We came back that night.
- 50:51Speaker 4: I took the eight hundred thousand and one. I wanted
- 50:53Speaker 4: it all back. So I ended up winning that trip,
- 50:55Speaker 4: which I never beat that place by the way ever.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Wow.
- 50:58Speaker 4: And we flew home on my day. And then two
- 51:01Speaker 4: days later, the FBI came and raided my home. Twenty
- 51:04Speaker 4: nine agents and a dog. Six in the morning, and
- 51:06Speaker 4: it was nine thirty three am. I'll never forget. I
- 51:09Speaker 4: was putting my son in the g wagon and I
- 51:11Speaker 4: heard FBI freeze and I look over and ate red
- 51:13Speaker 4: dots on my chest.
- 51:15Speaker 5: Who god, yeah, aar rifles full.
- 51:17Speaker 4: They're gonna right here to book right right right, rude driveway.
- 51:20Speaker 2: We're gonna shoot a bookmaker.
- 51:22Speaker 5: They definitely came prepared. Wow, I mean, and you're incomplete.
- 51:25Speaker 2: You got his little kid there?
- 51:26Speaker 4: No, I had my son, he's two years old. And
- 51:29Speaker 4: of course they didn't cuff me because I was holding
- 51:31Speaker 4: my son. And then they put me on the other
- 51:33Speaker 4: side of the driveway. And then they barged in through
- 51:36Speaker 4: here twenty and got she got my wife, cuffed her.
- 51:39Speaker 4: She was laying on the floor crying. And then I
- 51:41Speaker 4: had a handyman painting and they cuffed him and brought
- 51:43Speaker 4: him out.
- 51:43Speaker 2: The cuffed the handyman. Yeah, wow yeah. And did they
- 51:47Speaker 2: what did they taken here? Did they get it? Money?
- 51:49Speaker 2: Did they get can?
- 51:49Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 51:50Speaker 4: About two seventy in cash, gold, coins of casino chips, jewelry,
- 51:55Speaker 4: about thirty handbags.
- 51:56Speaker 5: You know, is it like the movies where they just
- 51:58Speaker 5: turned the house upside down?
- 51:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 51:59Speaker 5: It really is, it really is.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Did they know where to go? Did you have like
- 52:02Speaker 2: secret money stash? I saved them.
- 52:05Speaker 5: I did not.
- 52:05Speaker 4: I opened everything. I cooperated completely operated show. I knew
- 52:09Speaker 4: they're going to find it, so why make it hard?
- 52:11Speaker 4: They just rip open your stuff more, right, And they're
- 52:13Speaker 4: just doing their job at the end of the day,
- 52:14Speaker 4: Like you know, I didn't sign up through be an
- 52:17Speaker 4: FBI agent, so I can't be mad at eating for
- 52:19Speaker 4: that's their job, and I understand. So I tried to
- 52:23Speaker 4: be kind to them. Because they're going to do their job,
- 52:25Speaker 4: you might as well make it easier on them. Right,
- 52:27Speaker 4: they're going to find everything in your house. What's going
- 52:30Speaker 4: through your mind at that point? Are you sitting there going,
- 52:32Speaker 4: oh my god, like my life is just completely over.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Well.
- 52:35Speaker 4: I was rated in twenty fourteen by the FEDS. Oh wow, Yeah,
- 52:39Speaker 4: and that was a little different experience. It was like
- 52:43Speaker 4: fourteen of them, and they took the money. I signed
- 52:45Speaker 4: over an abandonment form which states that I committed a crime.
- 52:50Speaker 4: I'm admitting I committed the crime, but I won't be
- 52:52Speaker 4: charged for it as long as they release the money
- 52:54Speaker 4: and I don't hire an attorney, so to be honest,
- 52:58Speaker 4: my mistake at that point was thirty nine years old old,
- 53:00Speaker 4: father of four, greedy, love gambling, love sports. I'll just
- 53:04Speaker 4: build a bigger business it's kind of like, you know,
- 53:07Speaker 4: you don't learn a lesson from that, I guess, I mean,
- 53:09Speaker 4: that's that's that's the message here. I should have walked away.
- 53:11Speaker 4: I had an opportunity to do something else, but I
- 53:14Speaker 4: just built a bigger business. Sure, and when they came
- 53:16Speaker 4: back this time, it was much harsher.
- 53:17Speaker 1: And you know, in the end, you know, I've been
- 53:20Speaker 1: on those private jets. I've been on maybe ten in
- 53:22Speaker 1: my life, going down with a bunch of big gamblers
- 53:24Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 53:25Speaker 2: In the end, that's the stuff you miss.
- 53:27Speaker 1: You missed a lifestyle, a lifestyle, or it's so cool
- 53:30Speaker 1: having great dinners and great it's something that you've probably
- 53:33Speaker 1: been on hundreds of these jets and and the the
- 53:36Speaker 1: big parties and maybe even five ten thousand dollars dinners
- 53:39Speaker 1: and stuff being part of them.
- 53:40Speaker 5: The worst bill.
- 53:42Speaker 4: So my son, you guys saw my son. He's four now,
- 53:45Speaker 4: he was two when I got raided, and he's been
- 53:47Speaker 4: on forty four private jet flights in two years.
- 53:50Speaker 5: Forty four.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Wow.
- 53:51Speaker 4: So we were going every two weeks right right, and
- 53:53Speaker 4: then you know, I would bring my nanny, would bring everybody.
- 53:55Speaker 4: I'd bring my whole an traage because I'm a family guy.
- 53:57Speaker 4: At the end of the day, I love my kids,
- 53:58Speaker 4: of course, So it set up me going out there
- 54:00Speaker 4: and leaving my family at home.
- 54:01Speaker 5: I said, you know, I'll bring them to my office. Right.
- 54:03Speaker 4: So that being said, we've probably been on I don't know,
- 54:07Speaker 4: five hundred jets we had in Dominican. I don't know
- 54:11Speaker 4: if you were there for this trip. We had a
- 54:13Speaker 4: private concert with Andrea Bacelli. Wow, meet and greet my
- 54:16Speaker 4: wife and I literally front row seventeen of us. You know,
- 54:19Speaker 4: we've been to Blake Shelton backstage. I mean, I played
- 54:22Speaker 4: golf with Charles Barkley, Travis Kelce and the American Century Championship.
- 54:26Speaker 2: Sure.
- 54:26Speaker 4: I put a picture in my book. It's a receipt
- 54:29Speaker 4: to talk about dinners. Guiso Va, a fifteen thousand dollars dinner.
- 54:33Speaker 4: It's just at dinner, yeah, Caesars.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 4: And I put that in there as a point because
- 54:37Speaker 4: you're right, like, people are going to watch this, so
- 54:40Speaker 4: they're going to judge me for you know, living the lifestyle,
- 54:43Speaker 4: being greedy and all that. That's true, but when you
- 54:46Speaker 4: taste it, as you said, it's really hard to walk
- 54:48Speaker 4: away from. Because I did have a thirty nine years
- 54:51Speaker 4: old at an opportunity to walk away, and I chose
- 54:53Speaker 4: to continue, you know that, chase the dragon and feed
- 54:56Speaker 4: the dopamine rush. And you're right, caviar, Like, I'll be
- 55:01Speaker 4: sitting here literally, just to give an example before two
- 55:04Speaker 4: years ago, and I'm like, I'm kind of bored. Text
- 55:08Speaker 4: my wife, Hey, let's go to Vegas. We'll talk about
- 55:11Speaker 4: it when we can get home. Right, Yes, she knows, right,
- 55:13Speaker 4: so get home. I'm like, let's just let's just go.
- 55:16Speaker 4: So I would get online and send an email to
- 55:19Speaker 4: Resorts World negotiate the trip. They'd up a plane here
- 55:22Speaker 4: in four hours. We would just get in our car
- 55:24Speaker 4: and drive to the private jet and jump on it.
- 55:26Speaker 4: And I'd be in Las Vegas fucking three hours later,
- 55:29Speaker 4: gambling my balls off, and there would be caviare on
- 55:32Speaker 4: the plane. And obviously we get there that you know,
- 55:35Speaker 4: you've been to those villas or twelve thousand squares, a
- 55:37Speaker 4: pool and a butler. The butler's knew us. They'd have
- 55:40Speaker 4: my crib waiting for my son. All this formula. I mean,
- 55:43Speaker 4: the service is peccable, and those things are hard to
- 55:47Speaker 4: get away from.
- 55:48Speaker 5: It's like a drug, you know.
- 55:49Speaker 1: And one thing I know about you that you don't know.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I know, I know you were triple George to everybody.
- 55:54Speaker 1: So what that means is he's taking care of everybody.
- 55:57Speaker 1: I definitely tip overtaking care of from some of the
- 56:01Speaker 1: butlers and stuff and some of the people just in general.
- 56:03Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 56:03Speaker 2: We're really nice dealers too.
- 56:05Speaker 5: Good tippers is the fastest way to crack and burg.
- 56:07Speaker 5: I know what, I know a lot of them.
- 56:09Speaker 2: I know a lot of people that are really wealthy.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and if someone's around, they're gonna tip, right, But
- 56:16Speaker 1: like if they're leaving their room when uh, they're not
- 56:19Speaker 1: giving five dollars to the maid, but they're yet they're gambling,
- 56:22Speaker 1: you know, twenty thousand and thirty thousand a hand.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Sure, So I heard that. I'm not you know, just
- 56:27Speaker 2: just I heard that, and that's that's I appreciate it.
- 56:29Speaker 5: That makes us said that that what's happening definitely tipped
- 56:31Speaker 5: very well.
- 56:32Speaker 1: And you know, no matter what, people watching this, there's
- 56:34Speaker 1: gonna be haters. Oh for sure, I have haters. Yeah,
- 56:36Speaker 1: there's gonna be haters, and they're gonna say, ah, he
- 56:39Speaker 1: knew I was Otani's that's what.
- 56:41Speaker 2: They want to believe.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Of course, but I like that you were very open
- 56:43Speaker 1: about everything, and you're you are an open book. Speaking
- 56:46Speaker 1: of which, now, where can people find your book, which
- 56:48Speaker 1: John and I are going to be getting right now?
- 56:49Speaker 5: Yeah? Please?
- 56:50Speaker 4: Where where can we find on my website Matthew Boyer
- 56:52Speaker 4: dot com. Okay, that's the easiest way is Amazon, because
- 56:55Speaker 4: you'll have it in two days or whatever.
- 56:57Speaker 5: I wanted to. We were trying to order it once.
- 56:59Speaker 3: We booked this with you on Monday, but it wasn't
- 57:02Speaker 3: gonna arrive to the house till today.
- 57:04Speaker 5: I was damn And I even I've made fun of
- 57:07Speaker 5: any great.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I've made fun of Barnes and Noble for years
- 57:11Speaker 3: because I'm like, how is it still a Barnes and Noble?
- 57:13Speaker 5: And there's one on Charleston down the street from Red Rocket,
- 57:15Speaker 5: you know.
- 57:16Speaker 3: So I told my girlfriend, I'm like, I'm going to
- 57:19Speaker 3: run down to that bookstore and I'm like, how funny
- 57:22Speaker 3: is this?
- 57:23Speaker 5: I've been shitting on Barnes and Noble now here five
- 57:25Speaker 5: years and I'm like, I can't wait to go. But
- 57:27Speaker 5: they didn't have it yet. Well, because that's different.
- 57:29Speaker 4: You need a I self publish my book, okay, And
- 57:31Speaker 4: I've learned a lot of about that. I've never done
- 57:32Speaker 4: this before, but you need like a schul Ser and
- 57:35Speaker 4: Smith or whatever they're called, like a publishing agency.
- 57:37Speaker 5: But that'll pre be my next move.
- 57:40Speaker 4: My goal now is get my book out myself, get
- 57:43Speaker 4: my story out, at least give a narrative of who
- 57:45Speaker 4: I am as a person, because I'm being judged as
- 57:47Speaker 4: a predator for being a book maker. Kind of this
- 57:50Speaker 4: the evil side. All the sensationalized news makes me look bad, frankly,
- 57:53Speaker 4: but I am who I am. Man like, Yeah, you know,
- 57:56Speaker 4: judge me, hate me, like you said, always, you're always
- 57:58Speaker 4: got haters. At the end of the day, I know
- 58:00Speaker 4: who I am, and I'm a good father. I'm a
- 58:02Speaker 4: good person. I mean, it's some errors.
- 58:04Speaker 1: And you know, as far as how did you get
- 58:06Speaker 1: I can't believe you a book out and I didn't
- 58:08Speaker 1: know a couple of days ago. Your book is out.
- 58:10Speaker 1: You didn't even go to jail yet. The book is out.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Is the book about your life? Story about is the
- 58:16Speaker 1: everything in the book? Everything is in the bootle. I
- 58:18Speaker 1: mean there's definitely a book two coming, and I'm excited
- 58:23Speaker 1: for that.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean like a movie. I mean a movie.
- 58:25Speaker 2: You know you have some things set up. Can you
- 58:27Speaker 2: tell the audience, Well.
- 58:28Speaker 4: Yeah, of course, I have a sizzle going with the
- 58:30Speaker 4: Netflix right now. I'm hoping they pick it up. If
- 58:34Speaker 4: they do, they will the doc will be very good. Yeah,
- 58:36Speaker 4: I think that doc will will be because I'm honest man,
- 58:40Speaker 4: So sure, I'll just tell the truth the bad parts too.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Like one thing I do in my book is I
- 58:45Speaker 4: don't sugarcoat anything. It's really easy to tell everybody that
- 58:48Speaker 4: you know, your body fats four percent and this and that,
- 58:51Speaker 4: or your your your caucus a lot bigger.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Than it is.
- 58:54Speaker 4: But at the end of the day, you just tell
- 58:55Speaker 4: the truth. Haters, lovers, whatever, they're going to appreciate the truth.
- 58:58Speaker 4: So my book tells the truth that when I was
- 59:00Speaker 4: broke and borrowing money and put putting myself in bad
- 59:03Speaker 4: predicaments and owing bookmakers, I vote bookmakers my whole life too,
- 59:08Speaker 4: I was one.
- 59:08Speaker 1: You know, interrupt The shocking most thing about this whole
- 59:11Speaker 1: interview to me, I didn't know that he came home
- 59:15Speaker 1: and lost more money than he had to pay the markers.
- 59:17Speaker 1: I know, and multiple times, so many times you were
- 59:20Speaker 1: really I'm a DJ, you were a degenerator.
- 59:22Speaker 5: Oh, there's no no, doubt about it.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Wow, I see that.
- 59:25Speaker 1: I'm like, I come here and we pull up to
- 59:27Speaker 1: this beautiful house in private drive and cascading waterfalls, unbelievable property.
- 59:33Speaker 1: And you didn't matter because you were still gambled to
- 59:36Speaker 1: a level above your head.
- 59:37Speaker 5: For sure.
- 59:38Speaker 2: I had no idea.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Yeah, no question if you're going every two or three
- 59:41Speaker 4: weeks and you don't have an edge, because I really
- 59:44Speaker 4: don't sure. I mean, yeah, I negotiate a good deal,
- 59:46Speaker 4: had no edge. You gamble that high that often, how
- 59:50Speaker 4: could you even survive? Like you you know, obviously had
- 59:53Speaker 4: a great business to back it up, right, But the
- 59:55Speaker 4: reality is to gamble like no guy in the country
- 59:58Speaker 4: unless you're a select liberty or filthy rich can do that.
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: You can't afford it. But I did it for twenty years.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: At your peak, how much were you making a month million?
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: Five?
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: Wow?
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean mostly due to Otani money, of course,
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: but even without that, I was doing very well because
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: I had, you know, twelve hundred clients, and believe me,
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: I had guys who are betting one hundred thousand a game.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: It wasn't you know, but the o Tawi situation was
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: one hundred thousand a game, and he was betting thirty
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: five forty bets a day, if not more.
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: You know, that was something I was going to ask you.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: Was the six sixteen million you said you made around there? Yeah?
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Who's this next closest guy? Just to put it into perspective,
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I had a guy lose nine nine million, Yeah in
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: what timespan?
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: A year? A year? Yeah?
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Obviously I gave him a huge discount, and.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: I represented And I was friends with a lot of
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: pro athletes and when they retire that all of them
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: have the same story, which is the phone doesn't ring
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: as much and people don't take your calls as much
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: when you retire and you're not supplying tickets to them anymore,
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: or you don't have the money is not flowing like
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: it used to, so.
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: You're not the source of bill you out loans anymore. Uh,
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: they don't. They don't call as much. Is it similar
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: for you, like with what you've gone through now you
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: had an entourage with you.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: And yeah, I've had some Stage five clingers that are
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: no longer cleaning, no question, But I love that I've learned. Right,
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: I misread this guy. He's not quite the loyal friend
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: I thought he was so it's all good, you know,
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: like when you learn from these moments, you actually learn
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: more about yourself. And I just now I've learned to
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: look in the mirror and say, okay, it's on me.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: Like if I can't read who I'm dealing with as
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: who's truly my friend better, then I blame myself.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: Have you had some the reverse though, like triple down
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: on support? Yeah, more of that.
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: Actually, that's really more of ITOD for truly and you
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: know it's.
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: Fun, which is not surprising just from you.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: I've known you now an hour or whatever it is,
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: and uh, I could tell from your from his Instagram.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: I am sure you know the kind of person you all.
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: I actually want that because we all know that social
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: media is mostly fake. You know, it's people you know,
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: fluffing their life and their marriage and they they're out
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: cheating or whatever.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: Mine is not.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: I don't cheat on my wife. And more importantly, I
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: tell the truth. I mean, my feeling of my social
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: media is not all positive. It's me going through hell.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: You know, I could fluff everything. I just put a
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: private jet.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: And I'm flying and sure money and all that.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: I don't do that.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: I just talk about the hell I'm going through and
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: I will do that the rest of my life, good, bad,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: and indifferent, because I do believe if you're going to
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: in my case, I'm not selling anything at least not yet.
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: Well I'm selling a book, but I prefer just to
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: be honest and tell the truth because it sets you free.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm okay with whoever accepts me for who I am.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: Now I know they accept me for truly who I am,
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: whether I have money or not. And I will make
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: more money in the next ten years that I've made
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: in my whole life.
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: I have no doubt of that.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: That's great.
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: Let's talk about the family stuff a little bit.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: Like so this is a you know, like you said,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: he's going to be haters, right, And when you're throwing
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: around you're talking about fancy cars and these strips to
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: Vegas and private jets, people forget you are human.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: It's a weird thing. It's like they some love it,
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: like we love it. We all love you know.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: It's like there's obviously a huge audience that like wow, sure, right,
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: and then there's the haters that forget you're You're going
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: to be away from your wife for sure, your son
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: for fifteen months. That may not sound like you know, listen,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: I got arrested for a failure to appear on a
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: tinted Windows ticket ten years ago or so, maybe more,
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: and I was in jail for four hours. Yeah, it
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: long felt like eternity. I don't think people realize, how
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: if I'm.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: Not trying to rain on your own radar right now?
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: Pay owning it? Fifteen months, man, that's a long time.
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: This is a long time.
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: And listen, here's the other problem. Never mind the fact
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: that I lose my liberty. That sucks, right, being stuck
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: somewhere where you can't go anywhere is bad enough, but
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: just being not a father, missing moments with my My
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: son came to me two days ago. He put on
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: his t Rex costume and we just got it, you know,
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: in the mail or what Amazon, and he put it on.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Daddy, Yeah, I look at this.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: I said, that's awesome. He's like, are you going to
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: be a t Rex for hellomen? And then my wife
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: looked at me and I'm like, oh, I'm not going
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: to be here for Halloween.
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: That was rough.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: That was like a moment of like wow, yeah, that
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: was hard hit so like she started to cry and
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: I was like, fuck, you know, that's that's on me.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: My job as a father is provide and protect, and
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: I'm failing to do that. So if I've failed in
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: anything in my life, this is the first moment of failure,
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: the true failure.
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: She seems like she's dealing with it. She is.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: Three of us just showed up with cameras and lights,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: and I can feel you're both the rock.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: Yeah, she's amazing. She she's not a fan of this. Yeah,
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: she's more private than I ever am. I'm an open book,
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: like to the point where she hates that. But I've
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: gotten her to lean into the fire.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: Yeah. And I don't mean I'm talking about being open. Yeah.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: She's always been strong, but now I'm like, she doesn't
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: like having our life out there for.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: The whole world. But I told her, I said, we
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: really have no choice. Yeah, and this is making lemonade
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: out of lemons, that's correct. Yeah, long term, you're playing
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: the long game right now, I am man, And honestly,
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: it's actually feels good. Yeah, because I could at least
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: say somewhat of a narrative of the truth of what's
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: really going on, and they can judge me for whatever
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: it is, but at least I know this is the
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: real me, and again I own it like I fucked up, right.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I could have been a doctor. I could have
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: been so many other things. I'm very talented guy. So
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: I tell my kids, I chose something in the gray area.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: Whether I agree with the laws or not, different conversation,
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: But I chose something in the gray area. You got
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: a sixteen year old kid who loves sports and loves gambling,
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: So that was my passion. So if I can make
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: money in my passion, then it's really hard to walk
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: away from that. So I want my children to do
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: something that they're passionate about because we spend so much
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: time working.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: The problem is, I could have chose something else I
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: was passionate about that was legal, and never put them
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: through this and myself through this. And that's a mistake
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: I made. That's what I got lived with, and that's
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: what I rebound from.
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: You know, I have a health related question. Sure, I
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: look at you and I'm jealous.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: Before we started rolling, I was telling you I was
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: working with Gary Bereca and my health and Tenex, and
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: now I'm working with the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center and
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: doctor Arvind and I'm really into peptides and stuff.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: Can I add what are you running? What do you want?
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: I take everything BP one five seven, human growth hormones, testosterone,
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: I take I let's say there's another.
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: Like Tessa Moorland. Are you on No, you're on actual HGH.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: I am okay, Yeah, I take almost every I switched
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: to peptides.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: Yeh. I obviously do my blood work.
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: Make sure it's healthy. I have a doctor that owns everything.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: Fifty Yeah, I turned fifty. And the stress I've been
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: under my whole life, yeah, is crazy. I was a
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: commodity trader for eleven years and that was bananas.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: I was gambling legally and the exposure I was doing
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: there was almost as bad as the thinking.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: So yeah, I try to stay healthy. My wife is
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: really healthy. We very clean.
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: Yeah, we work out and even through all this.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: So in my last eighteen months, as you know, i'd
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: been kind of stressful. I've gone through a lot of stuff.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Business why, I told you a little bit before, and
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: I fell off a little bit and I gained like
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: twenty pounds back thirty five.
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: That a loss in pizza and it's just your stress.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: I'm going to say that to you. You look ae
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: it is.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: It doesn't look I don't know what you look like before,
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: but it looks like you've stayed on the course.
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: How have you been able to do that?
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: I mean luckily, I own a jiu jitsu studio, which
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: I've been really pretty bad about going. I've been going
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: like once a week and you should be going at
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: least three four times.
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: But I do other stuff.
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: I'm always active, and in truth, I just I cold
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: plunge every day, and then I use my infrarets on
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: on which I have here in my house, which helps.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: But those are like my moments to like kind of
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: live in my mind and realize the shit I'm under
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: and kind of have like a moment of like wow,
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: and that those things really helped me, along with eating
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: clean and then just trying to obviously work out because
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: my body fat I just did the other day is
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: nine point six percent and I'm fifty, but about eight
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: years ago I was down to four point four when
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: I was like extreme crazy about it.
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: That sounds like two lean though that's hard to keep.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: I was like, it was all I cared about, you know,
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: getting you know, where you eat portions.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Quick shout out to Heritage sports dot eu, our sponsor,

- 1:08:47Speaker 5: Couple of weeks, I go probably, I'd say October first. Yeah,
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: so you're gonna go on.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Ok, Okay, you're gonna go to October Like what what?
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: What kind of food you're gonna get in there?
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: I mean, shit, yeah, I've heard this.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Are you still the workout and stuff?
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: And yeah? I mean no, you're gonna be to lose weight.
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: You're gonna be.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Real popular in there. We decided that. I'm sure you're
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: gonna be real popular people. They love to gamble, they're.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Going ask you about every stories, your stories, you're gonna be. Yeah,
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: You're you're gonna be real popular.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: I think, honestly, I'm not worried about prison at all.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: I'm more worried about just again being away from my family.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: Like going to prison is whatever. I mean, truly, I
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: don't I don't think it's really rehabilitating for me as
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: a human being. But I will use the opportunity to
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: strengthen my mind clearly, you know. I'll work out a
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: time there's nothing else to do, right, and then if
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: I could improve my mind in any way educational wise,
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: I will.
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: I've grown so much in the last two years. I'll
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: be honest with you.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: Before this happened, I was getting kind of stagnant because
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: I had this amazing business and it was so easy,
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: and I ran it so efficiently that all I did
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: was like gamble and screw around. I wasn't really challenging
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: my brain. And now I've never done social media or
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: any of this stuff. So I had to go learn
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: what a Google drive was and things that I don't
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: even use. And I'm like, wow, I kind of you know,
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: went backwards. Yeah, so now I'm like, you know, it's
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: simple stuff. But the point is, you know, I'm actually
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: getting more savvy and things I would never even used,
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: But we're going to get your books. Last to close
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: with what the name of your book and where we
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: can get it, like an Amazon.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Yeah Amazon Recalibrate re Calibrate by Matthew Boyer with one
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: T then go to my obviously Instagram Matthew boy five.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: You have great socials. Thank you.
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: Well, you guys do too, and I'm happy to collaborate.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: This was a fantastic interview. We came out here for John.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: It's like we got to get out there, so we
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: came out here. And it's really nice for you to
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: open your house and yourself, tell us everything you told us,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: and we wish you well. Not when you're out, We're
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: going to do another interview with you.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: I would love. That is crazy to me to think,
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: I mean, I get it, you broke the law, like
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: I get it.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: It's but you know, John's saying, like a lot of man,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: what's what's happening?
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: We have conditioned society of all the big sports books.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Now how fun it is and the people are Every
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: college in America has a gambling problem.
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: Actually, to touch on that, that's the biggest new I
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: would call it epidemic.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: That's totally it's the new opioid epidemic. It really is gambling.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: But however it's done privately, it's done on your phone.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: It's closet gambling. Yes, no one knows that alcohol, drugs, you.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: Know, you see it, you see it. I spoke about
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: that on a what do you call it? Addiction podcast?
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: I mean if you or I had a million dollars
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: on a soccer game and that's going on right now
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: or whatever, we wouldn't know it. No one would know
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: about us, Yes, and then we could be sitting here
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: even though we're sweating the game, we're not really watching it.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: And then if I'm wasted or from high I mean,
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: I'd be slurring my words, I'd be acting, you know,
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: a little indifferent.
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: So you're right, it's you could closet height everything. I mean,
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: it's crazy. There's casinos in how many states now, I mean.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: Within a three hour drive of like anybody.
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: Almost anywhere.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: It's in sports books now everywhere.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: And to listen, even in this state you said about
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: having like these players that used to play with Matt,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: they're playing on other bookmakers.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: Calshi is a big app.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Now you're buying it's a stock market, you're buying contracts.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: It's sports betting right right.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Cal she now is taking over a lot of places
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: in California for sure, So cal Shei's everywhere now. Yeah,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: they were on the Las Vegas Strip during the election,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: big ad taking out the biggest billboards on the famous
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: four Corners, the Flamingo, and the Strip, Tropic Canaan and
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: the strip all over the strip cal She adds for
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: the presidential election, I think they had a.
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: Problem because they had the super Bowl up too, because
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: they didn't have a spread and that's the rule or
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: whatever what they put who would win or lose. In
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: this case, the super Bowl spread was really nothing, So
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: they got in trouble with the Vegas gets.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: A little bit, a little bit of trouble, but they're
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: growing at an all time rate.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so like that's sports betting, of course it is.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: I forgot one thing I wanted to bring up. The
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: prop betting has gotten so big. Sure, what do you
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: think is going to happen? Like, I don't even I
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: don't remember the picture, but I'm sure you saw it
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: The bounce ball. Yeah, the first pitch, what's gonna happen?
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: Do you think it's only going to get worse? It's
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: only going to get worse. Yeah, I mean, listen, they're smart.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: I mean you have to give them credit to throw something.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: That's the best way to do it because you're not
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: really affecting the outcome.
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: Of a game.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: You're just one pitch, one pitch, and you're gonna throw
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: several balls throughout.
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: Your your peers. So that was brilliant.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: But the problem is the brilliancy is never going to
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: work anyway because in a prop bet, Bill knows this
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: better than anyone. When there's a large bet on a
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: prop bet, yeah, that's an investigation.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: You can't even get down that much.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: Yeah time now, So the reality is to throw a
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: game and not actually get away with it. It's going
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: to have to be a real game, and that's going
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: to be very difficult. And then it's people talk. There's
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: too many cameras everywhere and too many people with big mouse.
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: They're gonna get caught.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: How about all these leagues though, now that the commissioners
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: were against gambling, right and NFL, NBA and hockey hockey
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: was the first one to take it in. They were
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: against gambling, and you know, only twenty percent of people
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: bet sports. Now they welcome it every stadium. You go
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: to Yankee Stadium, left field, center field, right field, three
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Offita sports books. Seven year old Johnny Boys says, Daddy,
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: what's that at to gamble on happen?
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: Oh, that's nice?
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: That you know, they're they're literally teaching them at a
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: young age. It's everywhere now the sports books are in
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: bed with the leagues. The leagues are making money. Of course,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: they're giant money. You see the retired athletes are now
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: the advertisers, Bronk and stuff. Kevin, you see all these
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: guys are they're actually advertising for this. It's it's it's
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: it's listen. A lot of things try to get swept
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: under the rug. I'm a gambler. I make money from gambling.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I'm you know, an advantage gambler. I do advantage gambling things.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: But I still talk about the we're responsible gambling aspect.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: I try to teach people that, you know, parlays are bad.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: This is sixty percent of the profits of parlays. Kids
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: want to make, you know, a dollar into one hundred
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: thousand because that is the ad they see on Twitter
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: and Instagram. Hey look what you could do for a dollar.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: They put that out there. These kids are dreaming, starry
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: ar dreamers. It's it's only going to get worse. And
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: I try to help.
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: They are sucking.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: And I want to say this, like, I got a
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: ton of hate on my Instagram, especially on that one
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: video that when viral of ten million views. You're this predator,
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: you prey on people's gambling addictions and all these things.
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: But the really and part of that's true.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: Sadly, I did have some people that bet with me
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: that got out of control or whatever, just like I did.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: But most of my customers, most of them truly would
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: want it. To write a letter to my judge and say,
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: this guy, I've dealt with them for twenty years, he's
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: a personal friend. Now I bet with him, Yes, but
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: it was entertainment. It was something I really wanted. Doesn't
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: make it right, but I just want you to know
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: I said, don't bother, it's not going.
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: To help me.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: But my point is, like I had relationships with most
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: of my customers, or my agents did with the customers.
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: Like it wasn't like we were going around with the
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: advertising science. They came to us to bet, like yeah,
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: and they're going to make the bets regardless. It's like
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: someone for having a shop that sells cigarettes, yes, saying
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: you're you're giving them cancer, Like they're going to go
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: buy the cigarettes regardless, Like, well, do you blame you know,
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: Budweiser because someone's an alcoholic. I mean, yeah, they gave
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: them the beer, but did they walk into their house
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: and hand it to him. They would have bought a
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: corona instead. It doesn't matter, it's the person. Yeah, it
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: has to be accountable for their actions, including me, which
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: is why I'm going to prison. I'm not happy about it.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: I'm not, you know, thrilled, But I did the crime.
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: I'm doing the time, and that's it.
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: Let's lend. Let's end on this one. Okay.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Bill loves his restaurants. He loves he's been He's making
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: a name for himself online with top fives, Top five
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: pools in Vegas, Top five restaurants. Let's fast forward fifteen months.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: Sure you're coming to Vegas for a weekend, a long weekend.
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Five restaurants you are going to be thinking about that
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: you can't wait to get back.
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: Into I guess or here either or where's your top five?
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: Give us? Give us top five?
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: If you guys like sushi, Yeah, I have a sushi
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: place in Tustin, California that's a hole in the wall
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: that's the best in the world that I've ever found.
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: Truly, It's called Sushi Wabi. I eat there.
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: I don't think there every day anymore because it's said,
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: but I'm watching my money.
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: But wow, it's fantastic.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: Japanese owners there, they're sweethearts. The husband's the cook, and
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: obviously his wife is the waitress. And you walk in there,
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: it's a hole in the wall. Not even touch it.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: It's it's amazing and it's all a macasse. Can't order
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: a roll. I don't even make rolls. It's real sushi.
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: That's my favorite. If I were to die, that's my
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: last meet Wow, truly, But in Vegas?
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: What do you in Vegas?
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: I like you guys will laugh.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: I like Geese of VA and not because I usually
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: don't like French restaurants because it's like portions a joke, right,
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: big portions, but I just order eight million things. But sure,
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: and because I don't didn't care about the price. But
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: I like that restaurant's really cool experience.
- 1:17:43Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: But as far as real food, I mean, obviously I've
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: been everywhere in Las Vegas that there's.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: No nothing stands out honestly. Steakhouse.
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: Maybe I'm a pig, so I like everything, right, Steakhouse,
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: I'm trying to It's sad because I haven't been to
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: Vegas in over two years.
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: It was in two years long stretch.
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: Ever my far, I mean, I'm close, and I miss it,
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: you know, I miss the dopamine rush of walking in
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: that town is kind of like a celebrity. I mean,
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: like I have an ego, you know, like I like
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: to walk in a place and feel like I'm somebody,
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: you know, don't I do?
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: Thank God?
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: You know, they treat you like gold. Whether it's fake
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: or not doesn't matter. Fake of course, good point, but
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: I'll be honest. Resorts worlds restaurants are not my favorite,
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: so definitely wouldn't be there trying. You know, Palazzo has
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: some amazing restaurants. What's that, Matt thirty two? Yeah, that's fantastic.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: That is really good.
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: I would put that so good. And you know what's
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: funny is I love what's the Greek place? Milos?
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: I love me?
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: I love Melos Cosmo. Right, And that's a chain.
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: Usually a chain is not the best restaurant, yes, but
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: those are the ones I would.
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: Go through all the time.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: So I can't give you like this is the one
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: other than sushi with sabi. And while you guys are here,
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: you should go there. It's intestin.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Well, it's this has been great. Yeah, man, thank you
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: so much. We really are touched by this too.
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: You know, John and I really don't know here we're
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: saying how how bad this is because you know, we
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: we we know what it is to gamble. We are
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: bet sports, even though we don't bet with the legal bookmakers,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: but still we know what it is to bet. You're
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: just people just betting sports. Pay you, by the way,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: let's close with this. This man paid his restitution paid.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Most people have to get bills. Would you pay him one.
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: Point one point six and change?
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: They have that already, it's done. He took that.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: Yeah, take him.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Take a man away from his wife and and fifteen
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: months for doing something that happened.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: We're gonna get hate for saying that.
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: Now every single day in the city we live in
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: all day South Point, you can do it twenty four
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: hours a day.
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: You can make bets on sports.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: So we're gonna put this guy away, and somehow the
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: world is a better place, safer places nuts.
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: You know, I agree exadly, but you know, I will
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: tell you guys, there's there's a part of me that
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: is like.
- 1:20:00Speaker 5: It's just part of the story. That's just going to
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: make me that much stronger.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: So when I come out of this thing and I'm
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: on stages doing you know, public speaking, and it adds
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: more grit to my story.
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: Of course, that's the worst thing I want to do,
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: is go away from my family.
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: But it does allow me to sit on a stage
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: and look at someone and say, look, I've been through
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: hell like this is what I faced and this is
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: where I'm at now, and I promise you I'll make
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: more money than ever had. Never mind the money. I
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: will actually do something where two people win. Every business
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: I've been in, commodities win, they have to lose, bookmaking,
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: I have to win for them to lose.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: Now it's win. When and the first time in my
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: life and I give to somebody and I get paid
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: for it. How good is that feeling?
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: That's great? Where everybody went that, Yeah, man, thank you
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: really much.
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: You're a good man.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: Thank you really appreciate a great interview. Guys, We'll see
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: you next week on WI Scratch.
