- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for having me again.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're so popular.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about that.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: You're the popular the reporter.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: I know you were just on Bob Saskashow.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, which was super fun.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: He is such a sweetheart.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: It was great to chat with him.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, and obviously I like I have, I just want to be clear to my listeners, um, I have been rotating a few guests recently, um, everyone's in a while.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: I branch out and pull someone in, but it's been kind of a rotation and obviously Sarah is one of these people in rotation and I am going to be.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: you know, reaching out and getting some different guests as we move forward.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: But I also just kind of enjoy the camaraderie that I have with the two Sarah's, as I call them Sarah Wood and Sarah Burris.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then of course, Shurj Kovies is always fun and Stephanie Walton is always fun.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be branching out a little bit because I've been sticking to my favorites.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's like my favorites make me feel safe and cozy.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: So but I will be branching out.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get a little bit more diversity here too.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: So just FY everybody, but Sarah Sarah's been busy.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: She's been writing a lot and so I just grabbed a couple of her articles.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to go over some of those and then I'm going to ask her, you know, is there anything else?
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm sure there is.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: But I just want to start off with the one, I think there was all these articles are from today too, which is one is, let's just talk about this and I want you to go off.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Trump is getting that bad advice as age throw a wrench into his plans.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: as it is like you got you heard this from a GOP senator.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: So please if I if I screwed that up just correct me and tell us about it.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: No no you're you're spot on.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: So um I don't know if folks remember I think I was on maybe the same day as the Todd Blanche.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: Hearing last time I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure we talked about it and one of the things that that I was really shocked by is when it came time for Tom Tillis to give his feel he was just sort of glowing about Blanche.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, well, we lost that vote.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it turns out not so much.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: It turns out Tillis and John Cornan, which we've sort of all
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: name to the yellow caucus that they have they've both said there are no on blanch until they can get a commitment from the administration that they're going to kill the little IRS settlement between Donald Trump and the U.S. government that creates the slush fund to everybody's like that's shading.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: And that was kind of a shock.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think everybody knew a little bit yesterday, they were like, that Coranan was like, I don't know about this.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I can do this.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: And they were supposed to meet yesterday, Blanche and Coranan, and the meeting was canceled at the last minute because they didn't have anything new to give him.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: And what is interesting, what kind of stuck up to me about this is that both senators were like, this isn't Blanche.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like we've talked to Blanche, Blanche is happy to work with us.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: He seems completely cool with giving us what we need.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: But something someone else higher up than Blanche is calling the shots.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: And what was funny with Tillis is he kind of, he started walking away and then sort of shattered over his shoulder.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then I shit you not it was like an hour or two later Trump posts on true social and it's like yeah, it was me Wow
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: And his comment was basically like, I don't really care if you support Todd Blanchard not, um, once you guys are gone, I'll just re nominate him and get him past that way.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, bro, you better be careful because if you, if you lose a bunch of seats, you're kind of screwed on that.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: And, and what Cornan said after Trump posted that thing, Cornan posted on X and it was like if you think it's just me and tell us you are sadly mistaken, my friend.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: So, which I'm paraphrasing that obviously.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I tried to make them all sound way more interesting and chill than they actually are.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, so I, that was a shocker.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: They haven't canceled the vote yet.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: The Chuck Grassley still has a vote scheduled for today.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, are you really gonna do this?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: Cause you're gonna look bad.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: This is gonna make people look bad.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, that's kind of exciting.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's, that's great.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's good to hear that.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, we're constantly hearing such negative things.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: And it's good to hear,
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Stuff like this because I think people tend to forget that you know in the fire hose of news especially the fire hose of negative news there is a lot of good stuff happening or at least interesting stuff so.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I'm definitely that's fascinating.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I also told Sarah like she has to be the authority here because Um, I can only take so much, you know, I I can only take so much of this news and not go completely insane and thank God for people like Sarah Who are out there writing about it and really in the know says she's the authority here and I want to be clear, but I want to bring this to me To another article That you wrote
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing can tear Trump's mega fans from him, even domestic violence.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: So let's talk about that.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm not surprised.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think anyone surprised, but what did you find?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a new pullout, the Politico did.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: Where they got deep in the weeds with magas supporters and asked them basically what would it take for you to abandon
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I think they even did it with like a nebulous GOP candidate.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, the assumption was Donald Trump, right?
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and, and what would it take?
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I, you remember way back in 2015 or 2016 Trump was like, yeah, I could shoot somebody on the Avenue on my shoulders when we came here.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: This basically confirms that the, um, they asked, you know, how many of you would, you know,
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: how many would have banned in the candidate if this happened?
- 7:23[SPEAKER_02]: And the the lowest number which was 56% said that they would still support him, still support him.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: Even in the case of if he had like a um oh not a not a DUI but if he if he lied
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: like some sort of corruption thing, which kind of tracks with the rest of the country.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's all he's been doing.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: He, the other ones, which were kind of startling were like if he appeared in blackface, if he was accused of sexual assault, if he was accused of domestic violence, if he concealed a terminal illness,
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: And now, if he was convicted of a DUI, which is hilarious, if he accepted gifts from lobbyists.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like, all of these things, people were just like, yeah, no, I wouldn't abandon him.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: But the absolute worst for him is, is 57% of people said that if Trump shared classified information with a foreign government.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: They would still support him, which means you've got, you know, the highest chunk of people who were like, yeah, if you give stuff to study Arabia, we got issues, which is I think more of a reason to reignite the
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, I can't say that I'm surprised.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're happy to vote for a convicted rapist.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I know educated all the fucking words, but he's a rapist.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, and the judge said he was a rapist.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: So, the jury decided he was a rapist.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: and they still voted for him.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: A jury decided he broke the law 34 times 34 count felonies, they don't care.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's obvious.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, we heard all the stories that he raped Ivana, because of her, something about, you know, she sent him,
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: to her doctor so he could get hair plugs or whatever the thing was and they hurt and so we beat her up and he raped her and then she had to reneg that because she wanted to get whatever money she could get from and I guess Don Jr didn't talk to him for a little.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: They don't care.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: None of these people care and I remember years and years ago there was a I don't know if it was psychology today but there was some kind of article out about how the the brains of
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Conservatives are different.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just, it's true.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: We have different, I don't know what, I don't know what it is, because there's like this whole psychological thing.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: but their brains are filtering things differently than a liberal brain.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: So it all tracks because they keep voting for these people.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: They don't care.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's like we're gonna vote for a rapist criminal just to own the lips.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: But they're owning themselves.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I think, I'm not saying anything new.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, how is it possible?
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: I would say, too, what was not kind of illustrated in this poll, but I've seen in other polling that includes MAGA folks and contrast them with regular non-MAGA Republicans.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: is he still losing support there?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like the non-magor Republicans, he's hemorrhaging support, and I would say even among Magor Republicans, he's lost about 18 percent of those people, which I mean if you, the Magor Republicans are maybe like
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: 30% or less of the population and so that's why you usually have like a good solid 30% that Trump is always going to have an approval with.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's rare for him to drop below 35 and he dropped below 35 this week in a bunch of different polls.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: So, so he's starting to lose ground with Republicans with non-Magra Republicans and a little bit with Magra Republicans.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: There was a show I saw one of the UFC fighters on this like four-hour podcast.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: with this other kind of X Trump supporter.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: And they were both talking about like how much people feel like they were lied to, how many Trump supporters feel like they were lied to.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that has kind of been the successful message that people have used to try and reach magp folks and pull them out of it.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: And there are a bunch of academics who have talked about the cultism aspects.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: of Trumpism and that was one of the things the UFC guy was talking about.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, you ever been to a Trump rally.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: That is, you know, the absolute moment when you realize these people don't think for themselves.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I was really shocked to hear, you know, an
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's been interesting to see the decline, but I think this is what happens whenever you basically do the opposite of everything that you tell your voters you're going to do.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: People eventually figured out.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, people were really, really happy about the idea of no more wars.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: Um, particularly, yeah, and the abstain files for sure.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that had been such a huge, right-wing conversation about, you know, this, this powerful, kawal of, of, um, of wealthy Wall Street people who have,
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, crazy pedophile rings and it turns out they, you know, Trump is hiding it and Trump is trying to hide information about it and Todd Blanch is helping him do it.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, gross.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, these people are so gross.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: I know that, um, you know, rapists and other forms of violent, I don't know, offenders, whatever have been presidents in the past, right, we've had presidents that are not necessarily good people, but we didn't we didn't know about it.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: People didn't specifically vote for these, like, knowing someone was a rapist.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Trump was found guilty in a court and they still voted for him.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's just unbelievable to me.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then they have the audacity, the audacity to come at us for, like, the plateners and the swallows.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, we boot ours out.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we we kick them out and they they they elect their rapists.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's so awful.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Um, is there any okay.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: What about let's talk about this one to Nebraska town hall descends into chaos.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: as crowd booze GOP rep.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: I want to know all about this because I did not read it, but I love this stuff.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I remember.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I was really shocked this didn't get more play in the news and maybe it will after today, but I guess it was yesterday a day before.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: That my flood congressman of Nebraska is home, like a bunch of other lawmakers and they're doing town halls, and he faced off against a bunch of folks and they were hacked off, like everybody else's.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: But what was really stupid of him is that.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of trying to empathize and and do the whole feel your pain thing and you know I agree with you I want to do this better and you know all of the things that you would think a lawmaker would say instead of all of those things his comment was
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: Why do I work so hard to pay my taxes for somebody that can work and choose is not to work?
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then, I know, right?
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: And, and everybody is just like, dude, dude, read the room, read the room.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: And, and then there was a woman who was a CPA who spoke out and and said, you're lying to these people here.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I deal with taxes.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: I know how this works.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: that you've done to help people sunset in two years like we this doesn't last the only thing that last for the tax cuts to the uber wealthy and corporations and and he cut her off and basically was like you know you're not answering you're not asking a question so we're going to move on and and then everybody started booing and they were like let her speak, let her speak,
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: So they were a rowdy crowd and I am just in constant awe of lawmakers who think that they can go into a room and be like that to their own constituents like even regardless of which side you're on like you you have to be able to empathize with the people in your district because otherwise they're going to think you've abandoned them.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: it is just it is beyond me it's like you guys this is not rocket science like just be a decent human being right no number one don't be an asshole they don't know how i i just don't know how i mean you know the the this is an era of the trumpism the way you know i look at how we had evolved up until trump and obviously
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we were not perfect.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: There was lots in room for improvement, but we went backward.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: And we went backward in so many ways, and I think that because of Donald Trump, I mean, you looked at the Republicans while Obama was president and their behavior.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: was so disgusting.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: It was so disgusting and I think, you know, then we get Donald Trump and he gives everybody permission to be super disgusting in, like, anywhere.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, anywhere you go now.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's reading and Republicans are behaving that way.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like,
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: In a way, I'm kind of glad that it's happening because if they were more subtle, if he would have, you know, come out and done what you suggested or think that every politician should do, I feel your pain, but they, they're so filled with their own hubris, and I think that they're doing damage to themselves, you know, obviously they're damaging the country, but
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: But I think in the end, they're pushing everybody to the brink where we're like no more.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be, you know, very, what's the word?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I wish I could just take some kind of drug that would knock me out until after, you know, like starting on, just like when people start voting, when all the polls close in the midterms, then I just want to take a pill and go to sleep,
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: And wake up to find out we won because I hate the fucking the journey now is no it's not a fun thing It's terrible to watch watch the numbers come in although I do say and I will maintain it's easier To cheat in a Presidential election that for that for that one person as opposed to going through the country and Obviously they're gonna cheat.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna try to cheat all that stuff and they might succeed in certain red states
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I think overall, I'm going to keep going back to hungry.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: If we just show up in numbers too big to ignore, we can overcome whatever they're doing.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think he's going to have the help of Elon Musk anymore, cheating.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: So whatever Elon did offering all the money, and whatever else was done by Elon, I don't know that he's going to be there to do it.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: I hope he's not.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I just think it's promising.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's promising to hear these kind of stories, and it truly is what I live for,
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: Regardless of who those people voted for in the past at that town hall, the fact that he had that he had to face that feels really good.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, yeah, the sad thing is is I think a lot of lawmakers are
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: Because they're not serving their people, they're serving themselves.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's that they don't want to face the people.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the people who are truly serving the people have no problem getting out in front of everybody.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: But unfortunately, they're like a fascist party now.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: So they're just going to behave that way.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: Any other like notable stories that you've been working on?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: So before we came on, I finished a story.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's up yet.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: didn't know the countries in Africa, they had an international HIV-AIDS conference in Brazil and there was a slide in the presentation and it had all of these countries listed on the right and little lines going to where they were on the map and they were all very, very wrong.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: how embarrassing like really and then like I want to say there are like six countries and there were only five lines so Cameroon which was at the bottom like they got to Cameroon and they were like asker it I don't even know where Cameroon is I'm not gonna try.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I guess Reuters did an analysis of a bunch of different photos.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: I guess a bunch of people posted the photo like took a photo and posted it on their social media.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: But Reuters looked at all of those and found an AI watermark on it.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: So it's, I mean, I think we all kind of knew, yeah, that's that's AI for you.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: But just having a state department,
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: employee, not spec check.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: Or not notice, those ambeek is not in the Sahara.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I mean, it's been, it's been, it's been, it's been a great, right.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's been since the 7th grade since I had to color all the maps and identify everything and memorize where everything was.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_02]: But even I know that most ambeek isn't in the Sahara.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty an ad.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, thank God they didn't have Egypt on there because it's like guys, guys, at least you can get that one, right?
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, at least Morocco, right?
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like, there's the movie, the whole Casa Blanca movie, you should know where Morocco is.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right, exactly.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's just insane.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: And like when we first started talking, I don't even know if you said it while we've been recording, but like today's crazy because everywhere you turn, everywhere you turn, it's madness.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then sad, I mean, there's there was one.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you saw
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: there was a not a gift but like a little video going around of a sequence secret service guy who's behind Trump.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's at Lindsey Graham's funeral but he's yes it was right okay and Trump's falling asleep and everything but this man's face it it appears that he's having to smell odors that are not good.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: It was one of those like, oh, God.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: What is that old man's now?
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm the group in straight upset.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I don't think people talk about this enough, but Donald Trump has a smell.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: And she said his he smells like shit and like make up and hair spray.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: And now epistemic crisis doctor on Instagram tells us that he got some
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: somebody, some source of his.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I can't, you know, I can't verify this.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: But somebody said he smells like urine.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think that he smells like urine?
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: you know, sure.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he has control.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so, and I, you know, no calzler talked about this on my Pat podcast in 2020 about how, on the set of the apprentice, oh my God, and we have talked about that woman.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because on the set of the apprentice, I guess there was somebody assigned to cleaning up Trump.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: And what Noel said was that, and he had signed a non-disclosure agreement.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then he just broke it and I don't know.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: I know he had said a lot of this stuff prior.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: This was like September 2020.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: He was on my podcast and he just said a lot of shit that I don't know that he said anywhere else.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: But he basically said that on the set of the apprentice that Trump would get upset and he would start screaming and then he would crap his pants and they'd have to take him off and clean him up.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if you've seen the reports of that woman, that blonde woman, who's there to clean his ass.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: like his diaper, aid or something, are you familiar with her?
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so this is the woman who, in reports, I think it was in the Maggie Haberman Jonathan Swan book where they said she follows him around and always prints things off on paper, right?
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: And gives them to him to read because he can't read things on a screen.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I have not heard her as, you know, a diaper change or, um, and I haven't heard any comments from people who have been close enough to smell him.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I did have, you know, and, and 78 to 84 year old old man and my life that I took care of for, you know, until his final days.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: And so I know with
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: What the, what it can smell like after a while, right?
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: I know two, there was a, there was a story, I'm trying to remember.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was after his, uh, one of his physicals, one of his annual physicals that he's had four of in the last year and a half.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: And somebody who was a physician was talking about the medications that he was on in some of the side effects of one of them.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: And that it can cause, you know, bladder issues and
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so that, I mean, just being old and having a massive prostate, which I guess happens when you're old, um, you know, it doesn't surprise me, and this is really poor diet.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't, you know, I mean, I don't know anything about his cleanliness, but, you know, or at least how often he showers, and, and, and look, I'm going to be, you know, providing
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: I am, old one day, and maybe I'm not going to smell so great.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I understand that people get old and their smell changes.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: But he's a fascist rapist who's shooting his pants and fuck him.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: That, you know, I don't care if this sounds disrespectful because it's not pointed at the elderly.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's pointed at him.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: And he is just so gross.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: He's such a disgusting gross person.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: that guy, that secret service, I think he said it all with his face, how miserable it is to have to be around this guy.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now I don't obviously, I don't know if that woman is cleaning his ass, but maybe she is.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I saw, it was a Christopher Webb.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, it was somebody who was posting about her and how she was such a sick afanct, you know, that
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: like a Trump sick of fat that I guess she's happy to do that.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: I can't even imagine.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean it would be hard enough to do with someone in your own family, but if it was somebody like Donald Trump you're not even related to this guy, you know, you don't see any of his children offering to help.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think any of his children would ever do anything like that.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they like him.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know, man.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, all I can say, I have to bring this up because it's me.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I just feel like, as we watch this man, he's continually deteriorating in front of our eyes.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing, the epistemic crisis doctor said, and you know, he's on a...
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: on IG.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: He was talking about, now this was not necessarily his theory, but somebody else had written in or provided with, you know, there was a tweet or something like that about the fact that Trump has to wear.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know this is true, but that he has to wear retainer because he's done so much cocaine and drugs that he has a hole in the roof of his mouth.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: and that he wears a retainer in order to keep like alcohol, or I'm not alcohol, you know, food and drink from getting up into his nasal passages.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if that's true, but if it is, and there is something in his mouth that he fucks around with.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: And this was talking about the fact that he doesn't have um, dentures, he has like, you know, full dent caps, right?
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: So he, I don't know, maybe there is, but it's like, what, what it is is we don't know,
- 28:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know that there are certain people out there who don't like speculation, but when it comes to us, health, we don't have anything but speculation.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_00]: And what he looks like and what he's doing, you know, how he behaves is constantly, you know, I mean, clearly he's sundowning.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: He sweats a lot.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: We know that he should suspend
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: We know that he's most likely had a couple of strokes because you know, I don't know if you noticed and I think we're so used to the stroke face that when he was at Lindsey Graham's funeral and he was kind of out of you know, it was a sleep you could see the one side of his mouth was starting to you know go to the side, which is the sign of a stroke like it it just looked like it was like
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: He had no muscle control on that side, and so all these things, you know, he probably has congestive heart failure.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: He probably has some issue with his kidneys.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: He was likely given that drug, which I don't remember the name of, and it starts with an eye, but it's supposed to be for OBC and it's not working.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's keeping him alive a little bit, but he's not losing weight.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: So he's not listening to advice from his doctors and he's the president of the United States.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like, you know, any bagging on him or any kind of, um, I don't even know.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: Speculation is absolutely merited because we're not getting the true story from any of we just, we hear from his doctors some fucking bullshit weight and how he's the healthiest man that ever lived.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm sorry.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: I like to look at him and go, he's dying.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: So he is.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's dying.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think the larger point of it for me is he kind of built this this thing from from his attacks on Joe Biden.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's I don't think people would be talking about it.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe as much if he didn't make such a big deal about it for four years.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: with Joe Biden.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, I've got it.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like to there were definitely some issues with Biden, but like you know, like this, yeah.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: But the guy broke his foot.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: And so his like howling around was was because he broke his foot.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: He has always had a stutter.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: So sometimes when he would stutter, it was his stutter, not the fact that he is having a stroke.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's like they took these little
- 30:49[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and we're trying to turn it into this big, always too old to lead, and now it's coming back at them and you're like guys like you did this to yourself.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: You, you've got this movement.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: And they deserve it.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: And American people deserve to know the truth about the health of their president.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: And we are never told the truth about anything.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, and then on top of it, the corporate news media, you know, the way they went after Biden compared to their ignoring all these obvious health issues of Trump is maddening.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's just absolutely maddening.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: And,
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck you, Jake Tapper.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: I can't say that enough.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: Do you want to remember?
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: With Lloyd Austin, remember when he had, he was going under for some kind of surgery.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody lost their minds.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: Because he didn't sign off on, you know, somebody being in charge.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, stuff like that.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: Or everybody then was just like, dude, Little transparency here.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: Little bit, just a little bit.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think that's the should be the case for Republicans, too.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's like guys speaking in Mitch McConnell.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like, just give us a little transparency, man.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let me ask you about Mitch McConnell because what is your personal opinion?
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: I know you're a part about what your personal opinion on what Bashar is doing and to be sure.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: I actually am not, I don't care about the Bashir thing, because from the way that I would see this, if I were an anti-Maconel partisan hack, is the fewer Republicans you have in the Senate, the closer the margins are and the less likely you are to pass anything from the Republican agenda.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: There is a part of me that's like, no, people deserve to be representative to be represented and have their person in the office and be sure can't do anything other than talk.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_02]: But this idea of when the Democrats are sort of fighting among themselves saying, no, you need to put somebody in there, you need to put somebody in there, it's like, why?
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: why guys like you you you really should look at the margins here because if you don't want any of the Republican agenda get to get past you want Mitch McConnell to stay in the hospital.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah and yeah and the way the way I look at it is
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily think they should put someone else in there.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm looking at Bashir and I think he wants to run in 2028 and I think that he's going to be in a huge pool of people.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the ones that are going to rise to the top are the ones that are forcefully
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: Um, how could I say this not just speaking truth to power, but like going as extra as you can now I don't think he should put any one in but maybe he could go to the hospital.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he could do some political stuff.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: Ask what would Mitch McConnell do.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: how would he behave?
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: And start taking on some of those tactics, not breaking the law, or breaking rules per se, but if they're going to break the rules, then we're going to kind of give it back to them.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_00]: And the strongly worded letter, I'm with you on the fact that, hey, if McConnell can't vote, that helps the Democrats.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: but when you look at this guy who wants to be a president and wants to be taken seriously as president, you need to show some moxie and I think he needs a little and I'm not really bashing him.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a decent guy.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: I just think in this fight, you know, we have to say what what what are Republicans doing and what would they do and why we're not going to do exactly what they would do.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let's take from their playbook a little bit more.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: not put them all, but you know, not playing nice and going, well, we just can't do anything.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: They can always figure out shit to do.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: Always.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: They can lay delay, delay delay, they can do all these things, and Democrats a lot of the time throw their hands in the air because they're playing by the rules.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: and then they appear weak to voters.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that, you know, it's different than when, you know, before Donald Trump, before the Tea Party, when we had a little bit more, I mean, Republicans were always Republicans, but they were able to, you know, get deals done, reach across the table, blah, blah, blah, blah,
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're in a completely different situation, although there are some Republicans that are willing to work with Democrats, but overall we've got fascist people in our government and we can't fuck around with them.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's my personal feeling on the best year thing.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's a there's a policy perspective and there's a politics perspective.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the policy is right for sure has no power.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: He can't do anything.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of screwed, but you're right.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like if he wants to, he has to figure out a way to stand out.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: And it doesn't take, he doesn't even have to like go into the hospital and demand to see Mitch McConnell.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: He could very easily just fill the video of himself outside the hospital and say, I tried to get in, tried to confirm this and they wouldn't let me in.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_02]: it is a pure stunt right to do crazy stuff like that and knowing that it's never going to work but at the very least you could do a video on it and that would set him apart and get a ton of views and get him some cable news hits and
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I got it.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: I just need like, okay.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_00]: So like, again, what would John off do?
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm looking at John off right now.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, providing and he's looking good in the race, providing he wins his seat.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think that, you know, again, there's going to be a big pool.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's going to be one of the real contenders.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who we're going to see.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're going to see a bunch of people.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't
- 37:03[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, like I look at AOC, I look at Kamala Harris, I look at, I don't know if Chris, I don't know if Chris Finn Holland's going to run.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: I always like to Chris Finn Holland, who else, oh, Pritzker, we're going to see more than likely knew some, but I don't think knew some it's going to be a front runner.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: But what are your thoughts on Offsiff?
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what do you think of him?
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: Not us, I mean, I don't, you know, you can add if you would like to see him as the nominee, but just in a general sense, as a reporter, what
- 37:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I think he's doing all of the right things for PR stuff like he is he's saying the things that get him noticed and he's making sure to film it and push it out there like he's he's got a really good team of people behind him and he's doing all the right media stuff that he should be doing he's
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: he's probably just looking at at Collins and how much Collins has completely screwed up the race in Georgia and and the polling in that race right now, like there's no chance for him.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_02]: And so awesome, I mean, he can't take his foot off the gas, but he, you know, he's still got to run a legitimate campaign.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: What, he can kind of use the Senate campaign to propel himself more nationally and I want I always wonder when folks do that when you like for those Senate races when when senators are doing their reelect and they're trying to look more presidential.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if it's just a.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: a way to get more money into their Senate race.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: Or if it is, I really do want to run for president.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that, well, I think Democrats are going to be in a position in 28 where
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: folks are going to be scared to have, you know, a person of color, a gay man, like, you know, a lot of of those diverse, diverse candidates because we keep losing those races.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think when you look at somebody like Asaf who can speak to issues like diversity, because he was mentored by John Lewis, I think there is a piece of him that connects with people that other white candidates can't necessarily achieve.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he has that sort of southern charm thing that makes him look good on.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and he's also a TV.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like it just.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_00]: Which doesn't hurt.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: he has kind of that all-shocks southern boy thing that I think works in in commercials and on video.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_02]: That is something that you don't see somebody like Mark Kelly and Pritzker have.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: And new symbolises hard is every is just like the poor little rich boy, you know, like you just like
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: Kevin, you're never, it's not going to be funny, honey, I get it, I get it, and you are very pretty, but
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty little choice.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's that pretty.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, I get it.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: I get that he's a handsome man in a general sense, but like he just doesn't do it for me.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: He used to like when he was younger and he had the floppy hair right and I lived in San Francisco and he was around all the time.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: I was just like, yeah, get it.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right exactly.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's all the way.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I'm looking at us often.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like he I don't want to specifically compare him to Obama, but I think the
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: comparison is, is that he's such a great order.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_00]: He is, I don't know, he has this way of speaking that he, he, it's almost like he's doing a sermon, you know, it's like he's still fired up and he's, and he's filled with all the feelings, he gives you all the feels, and I, you know, I know that it shouldn't matter, but good-looking people do better.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think that, you know, he's going to have that kind of appeal.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: He is Jewish, which I know unfortunately right now, we're seeing uptics and, you know, anti-Semitism just because we're seeing uptics in anybody who's not, you know, the Christian white male.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think it's going to hurt him, though.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's necessarily going to get in the way.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_00]: I know there there will be disgusting, you know, if he were the nominee, we would see a lot of really disgusting things coming from people who don't like him based on the fact that he's Jewish.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think that's going to be the biggest problem.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I do want to say, I know that I have pissed off.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_00]: some women who have been on my show before, and then maybe just other women in general, because I don't think that this is the year, we should run a woman.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not because I think America isn't ready for a woman.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_00]: America showed us we were ready for a woman with Hillary Clinton, but what we learned is the system is too easy to rig if the race is too close.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: And that wasn't even that close, that was like 3 million.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_00]: My fear is if we were to get, you know, I don't know who they're going to put up.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's I think they're the other side right now.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: I would guess it's either going to be, you know, I maybe JD's going to run.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he's going to make it.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think it would be Rubio or perhaps Tucker Carlson.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: And if it were Tucker Carlson, I have to say, he would scare me, you know, and I don't, and the reason he would scare me is because I think Republicans that they're very used to him, they've seen him on Fox News, they know who he is, and I don't know that he can do it, I don't know that he can convince him, I don't think Rubio is very exciting, but I just feel like, you know,
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to trust our system once again.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: What I want is this time, in 2028, I want us to win.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then fix as much as you can before the next election, the next general election.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know what that's going to look like if it's going to look like, oh, God, I can't remember the interstate.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think we talked about it one of the times you're on the show, where you don't necessarily
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't come down to, and I can't explain this well.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: But it's something about the popular vote, the national compact.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want to talk about the national vote thing?
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: Interstate compact.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's basically about,
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's not about the electoral college votes as much.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's just about the popular vote.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: And if we can get enough, we only need like 40 some more electoral votes in order to just have it so that now it's the popular vote.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: That I would feel more comfortable.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: If we had a popular vote, then put up the woman.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: put up the black person put I mean obviously Obama showed that a black man can win but could a black man win now I don't know I don't know and and and I hate I hate that our system is rigged toward the white man but right now it is.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: And so I feel like, you know, let's not mess around.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: I know, boy, a lot of people are gonna hate me for saying that.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_02]: Westmore is one that we probably thrown there.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: I was just gonna, I just was thinking that.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh my god, what about Westmore?
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: Because yeah, I know, and he scares Republicans.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_02]: He really does.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Because he is a little bit win.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's fucking great.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: And he's handsome.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, also handsome.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and he's a girl dad.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's a young.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's a he's a great.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I, you know, I live in Maryland.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's a great governor.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: We all love him.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, he's also someone to watch and his wife is super hot.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, no, that doesn't matter.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: I love people.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: It does.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_00]: It does.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but when you think about, yeah, when you think about the all of the qualities that you need for a candidate, it really does come down to what they look like and the whole the George W Bush do you want to have a beer with them.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_00]: And people crazy.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's for people who are who are policy nerds and who, you know, when I see white papers.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's it is frustrating.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, this is sadly the world where they're with Obama.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that would be the strangest conversation.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the cool.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, because I tend to like the girls more and so the whole time I would just be like, your wife is not.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody loves your wife.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what would happen there like why why do you end up being the the nominee whenever everybody likes for a lot more Well, we'll see what happens and I mean, I you know, I certainly don't want to piss everybody off, but and and if anyone is pissed off at me guess what I have absolutely no say in this so you know, I'm just throwing my two cents out there and whatever will be will be and you ever the nominees they have my vote including Gavin Newsom
- 46:19[SPEAKER_00]: who I don't really like very much, but I'm grateful, I'm grateful for his Trump trolling, which I think is not as exciting anymore.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: It, you know, it last year he was really on a roll with it, but I think it's been to the point where everything is just so crazy and fucked up that it's not as exciting, because it's just not.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: We're just so used to it, but I want to talk about two things before we go.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: One thing I do want to bring up specifically is this race with Tarloreco, because
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: Where is it?
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: Let me get the information.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: So the Texas Tribune, this was July 28th.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: Talleriko was up 45 to 40 and so Paxons at 40% but here's what's notable.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: Talleriko leads among non college voters by 45 to 36 and among independence 43 to 23.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: This is really huge.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, it's Texas, and I know that we don't know, right?
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens in Texas.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_00]: But this is a BFD because
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: Independence decide elections.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: And right now, we've got some fucking issues in our own party like we know it's not even the party, it's the people, the voters.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_00]: And so there's like, you know, all the Democratic voters are getting their panties in a bunch about all the other Democratic voters, and I just can't fucking deal with it.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm hoping that, you know,
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: By the time, you know, I hope by the time 28 rolls around, we get our shit together.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not that, I don't know, we'll see what happens, but what I do know is right now, despite the infighting in the Democratic Party, the voters, particularly, I'm not talking about the party.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's independence, we're gonna decide this.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that and it's going to be right leaning independence who are going to really help decide this.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that it's very telling that in Texas, Tala Rico is getting fucking 71 or no, did I say 71?
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: I keep saying 71.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: 43 to 23.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you think about this race?
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think about the way Tala Rico is running?
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, just personally, what do you think his chances are?
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've talked about this before.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to see if something's changed.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so forever, I'm going to be the person that's like, yeah, yeah, tell me again about how Democrats are going to win Texas.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: What I would say that I'm watching right now is seeing these polls, these new polls for Texas, and how much money Republicans are willing to dump into this phrase.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: because so far, they've dumped nothing in.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: They have given the National Party has done nothing to help Paxton, and I don't know if that's because Republican senators are mad and they're about the court and stuff, and they want to give money to people like Collins or whatever else from their Paxton.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_02]: But you're not seeing a lot of the big guns come in and help Pakistan.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I, the other piece of it that I think is a factor here is, um, is the primaries in Texas, you really saw an anti-incumbent kind of thing, like an anti, um, kind of an anti-old white guy, but also an anti-incumbent.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_02]: sentiment where it didn't matter if you were, you know, a 10-term Democrat who was the loved in your district, a lot of those folks lost.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: And they lost to young vibrant
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: you know, people of color and women and newcomers.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: And so I wonder how much of that could factor in because even though Paxton is not the incumbent in the Senate race, he's an incumbent who's been in public in statewide public office.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think people know him enough, and he's just had the worst press for the last five years.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like if you, in one, in very few cases, can you say that all press is good press?
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: Right, because none of his press has been good press.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: Even like the dude went to honor European vacation in the middle of the campaign with his ex-mistress.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: come on, man.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and so I don't know.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: I like, I think even when it comes down to Ted Cruz trying to raise money, we all know that Ted Cruz is the one Ted Cruz has been waiting for.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: So he doesn't like to play.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't like to play in the sandbox of anybody.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I know I don't know if he's going to fork over some cash and start trying to raise money for him.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but
- 51:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I'm totally with you as far as I'll believe it when I see it because I am right there, but I think there's a difference now, and I'm not making a prediction.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just noting that, you know, like, for instance, Beto came close, but
- 51:45[SPEAKER_00]: But we were not in the times where different people were and I know this is Texas, but there's definitely blue parts of Texas and there's definitely parts of like you said there's there's part of the mega cult that's breaking away there's a lot of Republicans.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_00]: that maybe just decide to sit it out.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to vote for Tala Riko, but they just might sit it out.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_00]: These were not really in play.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_00]: This kind of thinking was not in play when Betta was running.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_00]: And we're living in a different country now.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_00]: We're living in a kind of country.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: Everything has changed.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_00]: People are worried about gas prices and then on top of it, on top of it.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: You have Tala Riko who is,
- 52:28[SPEAKER_00]: very much and like I think he's a lot like Jimmy Carter in the way that he invokes his religion in a positive way, not in a weaponizing way, and I think that really does speak to people who are serious, not the weaponizers, because there's a lot of weaponizers, but I think the people who are truly serious about their faith, when they hear him, I think
- 52:56[SPEAKER_00]: He now I can't say how any of these people are going to vote.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but I just think there is like a different feel to what's happening.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think there's a chance he could pull this off.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_00]: But as you say with your cynical, of course, it's Texas.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to be cynical.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_00]: But there's, I think we have a shot there because we've been able to, you know, in the last, at least, since Obama left office, you know, we've been seeing some changes in some of these states, like North Carolina, geographically.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for sure.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: of feeling like things needed to change, right?
- 53:44[SPEAKER_00]: You've got the MAGA people who had their ridiculous agenda about what needed to change, but you had a lot of liberals and independents who thought, you know, they're whether it's citizens united or the electoral college or whatever, you know,
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: whatever it is.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: Corporations, not paying any taxes.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_00]: Lots of people were pissed off and upset.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so there was this general kind of energy in the air and feeling like we got to improve things.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: We got to improve things.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I think out of that came
- 54:14[SPEAKER_00]: this big giant monster who is dumping all over the Constitution and stopping all over the country and breaking it all down.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_00]: And what it does is it gives us an opportunity then to rebuild.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we're in and then of course we have to rebuild.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_00]: We can't we can't keep repeating the same old stupid mistakes.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_00]: So we have to rebuild with and maybe we will Ruth Bader Ginsburg always talks about that pendulum.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like you know I think right now
- 54:44[SPEAKER_00]: that is different than anything we've ever experienced before, including Trump's first presidency.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where I have hope, and I'm not making a prediction.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because I made a prediction in 2024, and it didn't happen.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_00]: So it should have happened, but it just didn't happen.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know, but I feel that there's a real possibility.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think we have a real possibility, and especially with the midterms in a general sense,
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, first in 2014, we had the lowest voter turnout in midterm in 80 years, and then in 2018, we had general election turnout because it was Donald Trump.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_00]: And now, this time around, there's no guardrails.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: So many people are upset.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then we saw what happened in Hungary.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how many people are going to remember that, but still, we saw what happened in Hungary.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 55:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this could possibly be the start of the turnaround.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'd love that, you know, I don't know.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we're still going to have to do a shit, but it's just, hopefully, it will turn.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: The one of the pulling numbers from the CNN poll that came out this week, which has some really weird questions that it asked, like, kind of buried.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_02]: I did one of those reports talking about some very bizarre questions that they asked, particularly about Trump's health and, you know, stuff like that, but one of the differences, I think, between Trump approval ratings.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_02]: and the other question that I would compare to it is the right track wrong track numbers.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_02]: So you ask people is the country on the right track of the wrong track and those are not necessarily the same questions as approved disapprove of traffic.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_02]: But it's in that same kind of line.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_02]: And it's enough that if you're not mentioning Donald Trump, the Trump supporters will answer
- 56:49[SPEAKER_02]: And sure enough, 70% say, a total, 70% total say, wrong track 50, 8% of those are Republican.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_02]: So the asking right track ground track 58% of Republicans say wrong, which that's kind of one of those hit or miss because I remember when when when Biden was in office and and.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_02]: And we had a Republican Congress, I kept thinking, well, yeah, of course a lot of people are going to stay wrong track because you as a Republican members of Congress who are doing crazy things.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: So I get no nuance about those kinds of things and I second guess it.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then my friends are always yelling out and being like, no, simply just think,
- 57:45[SPEAKER_02]: simple.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_02]: Just think simple.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_02]: Think like a voter.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_02]: Think like a voter.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and to your comment too, like everybody has to remember that decisions are made by those who show up.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll see what happens.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously, there's going to be the threat of ice.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be whatever they can get away with.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that people are so angry and the fact that these
- 58:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to piss them off even more because at least at the town hall they feel they get to say what they feel and vent and if they don't even have that opportunity to do it.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just, I think that, you know, with the explosive diarrhea, they, you know, normally this is.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_00]: tracked within like a week, right?
- 58:32[SPEAKER_00]: But he's killed everybody off all the jobs where they can track and keep us safe and healthy.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_00]: God forbid, there's another fucking pandemic.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's like please, please, please just get us through these years.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_00]: But, um,
- 58:46[SPEAKER_00]: people are just I think really fed up they're fed up with the way and then the gas prices and I don't want the gas prices to come down and I mean I I do for the families but I mean as far as politically speaking I don't want them to come down because people tend to not understand gas prices and just blame the president and in this case it is his fault but still.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's like I don't want to make it too comfortable before the election.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: I want them all uncomfortable because that's when we're going to succeed.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they are uncomfortable, but we I don't know what is wrong.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, on Ted Lasso, there's this advice be a goldfish because goldfish forget like after three seconds or whatever it is.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_00]: And boy, that does describe a lot of voters.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_00]: They completely forget how awful things were, and they're going to go, let's try it again.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe we're getting ourselves into a position this time around where maybe our memory will last a little bit longer.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_00]: I certainly hope so.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I certainly hope that by the time 28 rolls around, nobody's fooled if Tucker Carlson is the, oh my god, if Tucker Carlson is the nominee, I'm going to vomit.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: I guess we have to wait and see, I would hope that Rubio would be the nominee because he's probably the most boring, you know, I think maybe JD bands would suck pretty bad, but I don't know, who's going to get excited about Marco Rubio, you know what I mean?
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hate to be that person who thinks about candidates with respect to comedy, you know, we're just like, oh, yeah, because that was one of the reasons I feel like the late night guys are like, oh, we want Trump.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_02]: We want Trump because this is just bottomless bottomless.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_00]: jokes for us so I know that I know the right will march in lock step like they do all the time if Rubio is their guy but he's going to be so uninteresting and if we can get a really charismatic person in there and you know go up against Rubio yes please even though I'm going to hate I'm going to hate election night you know I always hate election night
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_00]: All right, I said we were gonna talk about two things and I'm not really gonna bring anything else up because we're running out of time And it wasn't that important anyway, so maybe we can cover it the next time we're on but as usual I always enjoy your perspective.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_00]: I love talking to a reporter and you're so smart and you're so fun So thank you for being with me Joe and I always want to I always want you to tell everybody where to find you if they don't already know
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, so I mean, really, you can just Google me, Sarah Burroughs, and you'll find all of my stuff and pops up at the top.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_02]: But that's my name on Instagram and the Facebook.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm still on Twitter, because I will not see it.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_02]: I will not see it to the white supremacists.
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_02]: And but Blue Sky, I love Blue Sky, because it's fun.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, thank you, and we'll chat again.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, you're amazing.
