- 0:28Let's get into the episode. Hello everyone, and welcome to
- 0:32the Doctor Randy show where we talk about the people and the
- 0:36ideas shaping the future of aesthetics.
- 0:38I'm your host, Doctor Randy Boyett.
- 0:41Today I'm excited to introduce our guest.
- 0:44He has turned around wound healing science into skin care.
- 0:48He is leading a brand that is known for results you can see in
- 0:52two weeks and his brand is now in more than 20 countries.
- 0:57Please welcome the CEO of Hydrogenity, Keith O'Brien.
- 1:01Welcome to the show, Keith. Thank you, Doctor Randy, it's my
- 1:04pleasure. Thank.
- 1:05Thank you for inviting me. It's just an honor to be here.
- 1:08So thank you. I really do appreciate it.
- 1:10Well, we're so. Excited.
- 1:11I got the chance to meet you in person just a few months ago and
- 1:16you very kindly shipped me the products very fast afterwards
- 1:20and I was blown away. Everything that we feature on
- 1:23show I try myself because I want to make sure of the efficacy and
- 1:28how the products work. It's been wonderful to research
- 1:32you and see all of the heart that you've put behind this
- 1:35product. So excited to get started today.
- 1:38No, it's my pleasure and so it's it was my pleasure to meet you
- 1:42and I'm glad you like the products.
- 1:43We get that feedback every day. So glad they didn't disappoint.
- 1:47I know that we pulled some data recently and your brand was top
- 1:51trending. So glad to see that.
- 1:53Glad to see that all that science is being put to work.
- 1:56So let's dive in. Keith, you have built a career
- 2:00across healthcare, biotech, and now aesthetics.
- 2:04How did that journey lead you to start Hydrantity?
- 2:08I never thought in my career that I was starting an
- 2:12aesthetics company was never my dream.
- 2:15I'm, I'm sorry, but hydrogenity was really, we were focused.
- 2:18We were a regenerative medicine company with a different name
- 2:22and we were building products for advanced wound care,
- 2:27oncology, spine surgery. And what we found was we had
- 2:33discovered a new way to make hyaluronic acid or to extract
- 2:36it. And then we were also just very
- 2:39fortunate, whether it's fortunate, whether it's good
- 2:41luck or whatever, somebody smiled upon us because when we
- 2:45were testing some of our HA for patients undergoing radiation
- 2:49oncology treatment, what we found was their skin was
- 2:53perfect. You couldn't tell the patients
- 2:55that were using it from where you could tell the ones that
- 2:58weren't using it for sure. And the providers just said,
- 3:02listen, you have something pretty special here because
- 3:06there was no redness, no inflammation.
- 3:08Their skin was perfect. And if anybody knows anybody
- 3:12who's doing head and neck radiation treatment, you
- 3:14understand how the skin just sloughs off and it becomes red
- 3:18and inflamed and it's just angry skin.
- 3:21These patients skin were perfect and at that point the light bulb
- 3:26just kind of went off and I said, you know, what if it can
- 3:29do to compromise skin this, maybe we are to start thinking
- 3:33about using this, you know, as a skin care line.
- 3:37Because if you think about it in aesthetics now, it's not much
- 3:41different than sometimes wound care because we're actually
- 3:44inflicting pain. We're making wounds with the
- 3:46procedures that we do. And that's how Hydrantity was
- 3:50born in my past. It's kind of shaped in some of
- 3:52the ways that we run the company and the clinical testing that we
- 3:55do. So it's fortunate for us that
- 4:00had a lot of good people in the past teach me how to do things.
- 4:03And so it's all kind of come to a head here at High Trinity.
- 4:06Sure, sure. And that's what I was going to
- 4:08ask you about. How did you make that transition
- 4:11from going from regenerative medicine into daily skin care?
- 4:15But it sounds like it happened so organically, Like hey, if
- 4:18this is so good, why can't people use it every day to
- 4:21improve their skin? Yeah, it's because skin is skin
- 4:26and some of the same concepts that we were using in advanced
- 4:31wound care is the same concepts that we really using aesthetics.
- 4:35Now what we have found is that you have to control
- 4:39inflammation. Inflammation is bad whether it's
- 4:41on your skin, your gut or your joints.
- 4:44Also balancing pH. If your skin's pH is not
- 4:47balanced, you're not going to get optimal results.
- 4:49And the other thing is how fast things work.
- 4:52And so it did. So we were able, it did happen
- 4:55organically, but we took some of those same concepts and we just
- 4:59brought those over and just said, listen, skin is skin and
- 5:03let's just get real aggressive in how we're helping people
- 5:08hydrate themselves and just get better skin.
- 5:11Well, it sounds like it worked and that it was a great
- 5:15decision. Was there like a specific result
- 5:19or patient efficacy that you saw that inspired you to make that
- 5:23leap into consumer facing skin care?
- 5:27It was those patients that were severely compromised.
- 5:31When I saw what it did for them, it not only did it just warm my
- 5:35heart, but it made me realize that you know what, if they can
- 5:41do it for them, uncompromised skin, this is going to work
- 5:44great. And then we started testing it.
- 5:46I'm a believer in show me the data.
- 5:49So I don't know if you're aware, but we test everyone.
- 5:53We do a clinical testing of every one of our products before
- 5:56we bring them out. I knew that we had something
- 5:58special, but I didn't know. Our first clinical study we did
- 6:0170 patients and people I didn't really understand in the steps
- 6:05where you don't need to do a 70 patient study, but the results
- 6:08were better than I thought it was, showed that the rapid
- 6:11improvement. That was going to be one of my
- 6:14questions because in doing my research, I saw that you were
- 6:18doing extensive clinical trials and I was kind of curious what
- 6:23made you invest in doing that above and beyond what most
- 6:26brands will do? Well, I knew coming out of the
- 6:30gate that people would say, hey, what's a hydrogenity?
- 6:34Because we were brand new. No one had ever heard of us
- 6:37because we were a new company. So if we could show
- 6:39scientifically how this works and where it works, then it's
- 6:44easier to get people to try this.
- 6:47And then once somebody puts this on, you've tried the product.
- 6:51Our form fit and function is just fantastic.
- 6:54So we work on efficacy is our number one thing.
- 6:57It has to work. It has to do what we say it's
- 6:59going to do. But also people need to feel
- 7:02that experience and people are not going to use something that
- 7:06they don't like the way it feels, they like the way it
- 7:08smells. Especially if you have to wait
- 7:102-3, four weeks to get results, they're not going to do it.
- 7:13So what we do is we just try to make it luxurious.
- 7:18That's actually work. There's a lot of brands out
- 7:21there that have pretty good science, but their products are
- 7:24not luxurious. They don't feel good.
- 7:26And then there's some that feel really good, but we're not
- 7:28really sure they do anything. And so we wanted to have that
- 7:30intersection between science and luxury.
- 7:33Well, it sounds like you hit it right on the head and the
- 7:36experience is, it's very unique. The packaging is beautiful.
- 7:41Everything about it, the texture, how quickly you feel.
- 7:44I mean, within three days I could feel and see a difference
- 7:47in my skin. Yeah, hydrated skin is really,
- 7:51really important. I don't think you could have
- 7:53healthy skin unless it's hydrated and also healthy skin.
- 7:57I believe great skin, good healthy skin happens at the
- 8:02dermal layer. And that's what we also do is
- 8:06every one of our products has a delivery system to get the
- 8:09actives down to the dermal layer because that's where really the
- 8:14true regeneration of your skin happens is that the dermal
- 8:17layer. So let's talk about hyaluronic
- 8:19acid for a minute because it's everywhere in beauty marketing,
- 8:22right? Everybody's talking about
- 8:24hyaluronic acid now. It's in my hair products, it's
- 8:27in everything. So tell me how does hydrinities
- 8:31and correct me if I'm saying this wrong, Dual weight HA
- 8:35technology, is that correct? That's correct, yes.
- 8:38OK. So how does that stand apart
- 8:40from the average HA that we're just seeing listed on any skin?
- 8:45Yeah, I tease everybody. I kind of have this man crush on
- 8:48hyaluronic acid because I think it's one of the most valuable
- 8:53ingredients in all of medicine. The problem is it's used wrong.
- 8:58It's used wrongly. And I think the first thing you
- 9:02have to look at is the molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid.
- 9:06And if you don't get that part of it right, then you miss the
- 9:09whole boat. The thing about the hydrogenity,
- 9:12HA, it's 100% injectable grade. We use injectable grade HA, the
- 9:16same thing that people get fillers with.
- 9:18We use that as a topical, and we're the only company that does
- 9:21that. It costs more, but better
- 9:23ingredients give you better products, I believe, and better
- 9:26formulations. So what we do is our dual
- 9:29molecular weight. We use a high molecular weight
- 9:31as a barrier product for moisture for the skin, but our
- 9:35low molecular weight penetrates down to the dermal layer and
- 9:39carries active ingredients with it.
- 9:40We use that as one of our delivery systems and we're very
- 9:44specific in our molecular weights.
- 9:46If it's more than 1% off, we don't use it, we throw it away.
- 9:50That's how particular we are about the ingredients that we
- 9:53use in our products. Wow, that is so impressive.
- 9:57Yeah, I can tell that you're putting more into this than most
- 10:01companies do. And it shows, right, shows in
- 10:03the brand. It shows the adoption.
- 10:05I mean, the fact that you are now in more than 20 countries
- 10:09also, how's that going internationally?
- 10:12It's really, it's good. The phone rings and you know,
- 10:15here's The thing is since we talked a couple of months ago,
- 10:18we were 20. We're up to 30 now.
- 10:21So, yeah. So, so we've not only just
- 10:24fantastic growth inside the United States, but around the
- 10:27world. It's good, it's different.
- 10:30But here's the thing that I'm also proud of is that we've not
- 10:33had to change any of our ingredients to go into different
- 10:38countries. There are a lot of brands out
- 10:39there that have to have different products because
- 10:42they're not allowed in those countries.
- 10:44And we have not had to change one formulation for the all the
- 10:47countries that we're in. OK.
- 10:49Well, that's pretty interesting from yeah, that you don't have
- 10:53to change anything, which really speaks to how clean the product
- 10:56is, right? And then it's formulated
- 10:58correctly like you. Said when I started this
- 11:01journey, I mean I just dove in and just tried to read
- 11:05everything. I don't know how much product I
- 11:07bought. I read every ingredient label
- 11:10and I was a little almost offended by some of the fillers
- 11:16that people would use and they didn't have many active
- 11:19ingredients in there. And that's when I said we can do
- 11:23better. We use better ingredients, we
- 11:25use unique ingredients. I thought at the end, but now I
- 11:29know it, we can make better products.
- 11:33And so we just been, like I said, very, very, very fortunate
- 11:36that the world has decided they love High Trinity.
- 11:39That's great and I love to hear that.
- 11:41So you have this tagline that's attached to your brand. 2 pumps
- 11:46twice a day. What's the science behind that
- 11:49simplicity? HA is our foundation and so we
- 11:53have more products now, but when we started we just had a few
- 11:55skews. But HA is still at the core of
- 11:58who we are as a company. And so HA turns over very
- 12:02rapidly. And so you need to use it twice
- 12:04a day, at morning and at night and to build that up in your
- 12:07body to stimulate more HA. And so we have the science that
- 12:10shows that it works. And not only that is the data
- 12:13also supports that you see visible results in two weeks.
- 12:17So 2 pumps is enough for almost everyone to get complete facial
- 12:22coverage with that. And it should be your morning
- 12:24routine. It should be your night routine.
- 12:27And the data supports if you use it twice a day.
- 12:29Works better than just one time a day.
- 12:31And I think that speed, let's face it, this is not an
- 12:36environment where people have a lot of patience, right?
- 12:39Absolutely. It's an instant gratification
- 12:41society, so how important is that speed when winning over the
- 12:48new customers? Oh, I, I think it's extremely
- 12:52important because you're right, the world we live in, we're so
- 12:56impatient. We have to have instant
- 12:58gratification and someone hasn't texted you back in 2 minutes or
- 13:02what, What's going on? You know, And it is with this, I
- 13:06can promise you if you use it like you just said, in the 3rd
- 13:09or 4th day when you're get out of the bathtub or the shower,
- 13:12you will be able to feel a difference.
- 13:14And when we started this journey, all the clinical data
- 13:17that I was seeing this says results at 8 weeks and 10:00 and
- 13:2012:00 when we had our first study, when we got that back, it
- 13:25was 2 weeks that there were visible results that were
- 13:28clinically graded by physicians and patients also noticed it in
- 13:32two weeks. And so I said, guys, we got
- 13:34something, we need to start talking about that.
- 13:36This is how we do it. And they said, well, nobody does
- 13:39that in the industry. And I said, well, that's good,
- 13:41that's good for us. But now I see a lot of people
- 13:44talking two and four weeks data, which I'm happy accelerate the
- 13:48industry here a little bit. Right, right.
- 13:50And I know that you're obviously selling this into clinics,
- 13:55making it available for customers.
- 13:57Tell me a little bit about that, about how Med spas are adopting
- 14:00this. They're using it for their
- 14:02treatments in clinic as well as allowing customers to purchase.
- 14:05So tell me a little bit about that.
- 14:08Yeah. We're a medical profession
- 14:10brand. So we do with Med spas with a
- 14:13medical director, dermatologist and plastic surgeons.
- 14:16That's who we call them. It's kind of what I know.
- 14:18So it made it really easy for us.
- 14:21And so that's what we do because I believe that people's skin is
- 14:27better when they go to a professional.
- 14:29OK, I'll brush my teeth, but I'm not giving myself a feeling.
- 14:33So I'm going to go to a dentist for that.
- 14:35So I think people's skin health needs to be done by a
- 14:38professional because we could misdiagnose ourselves.
- 14:40You think you have something and if you use the wrong product,
- 14:44you're not going to like the results you get.
- 14:46Well, the reason you don't like the results is because you use
- 14:48the wrong product. And I just believe in that
- 14:52model. I think that's the way to grow
- 14:55your brand and your business. And I also think the patient or
- 15:00the client gets better results when they listen to their
- 15:04professional, whether it's their doctor or their esthetician or
- 15:06their injector. Let's let's go to the source,
- 15:10the people that do it every day and we believe in that.
- 15:13And also I think it provides the best efficacy for the products,
- 15:18right? You know, and I watch a decent
- 15:20amount of social media per week just so I can keep up with the
- 15:23trends and what's going on. The most common question I see
- 15:26when people are chiming in after watching a skin Fluence or video
- 15:30is wait, how do I do these products?
- 15:32In what order? What am I supposed to use with
- 15:34this and that? So I think when you're going to
- 15:36a professional, they help you figure out the the plan, the map
- 15:40for the of your skin. So I think that makes perfect
- 15:44sense. So let's get into something very
- 15:48exciting. You are launching a new product
- 15:53and by the time this airs and that the listeners and viewers
- 15:57see it, you will probably already be in full swing.
- 16:01But excited to talk about that. I know that you are introducing
- 16:06A retinol product to the line. Retinol is already the gold
- 16:10standard and anti aging. So I'd love to talk to you about
- 16:13that. I'd love to hear what you have
- 16:14to say about it as as well as to ask why was now the right time
- 16:18to add it, and how does your formulation stand apart in such
- 16:23a crowded category? No, thank you.
- 16:26We are so excited about this product.
- 16:30Doctor Michael Gold, we did AIRB approved clinical study and he
- 16:34was the lead investigator on it. And so he said this is the most
- 16:38innovative product in aesthetics in over a decade.
- 16:42And it is a retinol. Retinol is a staple besides an
- 16:46SPF. Everyone should be on some type
- 16:49of retinol. The problem is, you know, and I
- 16:52read this somewhere and I was looking for it today and I
- 16:55couldn't find it, that over 40% of people can't tolerate
- 16:58retinoid therapy. And so we thought, you know
- 17:02what, let's make something that's worthy of the hydrogenity
- 17:06age. And so we've been working on
- 17:08this for two years and this product uses exosomes,
- 17:14biomimetic exosomes as a delivery mechanism.
- 17:19So the retinal with an A is encapsulated inside the exosome
- 17:24and it takes it down to the dermal layer.
- 17:27And the clinical results have even blown my expectations.
- 17:32You get fine lines and wrinkles, which you would expect your
- 17:35skin, your pore size. Let me see.
- 17:38It's a 55% increase in skin tone.
- 17:42So it does everything a retinol is supposed to.
- 17:44But here's the other thing it does. 44% of all patients saw an
- 17:50increase in hydration. So this is a hydrating retinol.
- 17:55The other thing is we had a 68% reduction in erythema, most
- 18:00retinol products induced erythema and redness in the
- 18:04skin. So for this, we studied
- 18:07Fitzpatrick one through 6. So even the people that said
- 18:10they were sensitive were able to use this product.
- 18:14We studied over 55 patients before we launched this to the
- 18:17public and we had 0 dropouts, 0 adverse events in every one of
- 18:23those. This product is going to be a
- 18:26game changer because it does what a retinol is supposed to
- 18:30do, but it doesn't give you the side effects that keep many
- 18:34people from using it. It's therapeutic from the first
- 18:37dose. Besides an RX, I don't know of
- 18:40another really retinol with the A that is therapeutic from day
- 18:45one. You do not have to titrate this.
- 18:47In all of our studies you started on day one.
- 18:50Either one or two pumps and we again, we didn't have anybody
- 18:55that dropped out and that's just unheard of when I started to
- 18:59scurry in the data and look into the team we're looking.
- 19:03There's no other clinical studies shows it where they had
- 19:050 dropouts and we got the same efficacy as this has.
- 19:09This is a true product and I'm really, I'm excited for the
- 19:12industry because I do think I'm going to give the industry some
- 19:15shout out here too. I think you're going to see in
- 19:17the next three to five years a ton of innovation because I
- 19:20think we figured out some of the things that we can and can't do.
- 19:24And so I'm happy for that. But I am so happy.
- 19:26This product, it's called Retazone because it's a retinal
- 19:30and Nexazone combo. And so we just use that as the
- 19:34name and the thing I like about the, and I can you tell I'm
- 19:37excited. These exosomes, biomimetic
- 19:42exazomes, they're standard. They're medically engineered, so
- 19:47they're all the same. So they're standard.
- 19:48So every time you get what you're supposed to get, they
- 19:51also they stable. That's been the problem with
- 19:53exosomes throughout the past probably 5 to 10 years, is they
- 19:57were unstable. But when you use a biomedic,
- 20:00you're able to stabilize it. And when you make your own, you
- 20:05can put exactly what you want in there, so you know exactly
- 20:07what's in there. So this also has centella
- 20:11asiatica in there, which is a medicinal plant that's been used
- 20:14for hundreds of years to help with the inflammation and some
- 20:18of the other things. So that's in the exosome also,
- 20:21but the encapsulation allows it to go down to the dermal layer
- 20:26and doesn't release it until it's there.
- 20:29So you don't get those, the redness in the flashes at the
- 20:33epidermal layer that some of the other ones do.
- 20:35This is a true advancement in science, aesthetic science.
- 20:39This product right here. I think Dr. Gold was right.
- 20:42I think this innovation is is pretty stand out.
- 20:46It's phenomenal. I've had the chance to try it.
- 20:49I know you sent it to me a couple months ago and now I have
- 20:52the new fully packaged beautiful bottle.
- 20:55So thank you for sending that to me.
- 20:57Excited for it. And you're right, there is no
- 20:59irritation. Some of the retinol products
- 21:01that I was using previously, I would use them a few days in a
- 21:04row and then I would have to take a couple days.
- 21:07Off. That would have like a burning
- 21:09sensation on my face, right? So definitely a differentiator
- 21:13there. And actually, Dr. Gold is going
- 21:15to be on the show next week or two, so we'll make sure to ask
- 21:18him about. Oh, great.
- 21:20No, that's, that's, that's good. And you know, Doctor Gold, you
- 21:22know how he is. He doesn't say those types of
- 21:25things very often. So I was actually blown away
- 21:28when unprompted, he told me that.
- 21:30So it was very encouraging. Yes, and I do think there's a
- 21:34huge play right now for retinols or retinols that are not
- 21:40irritating the skin because a lot of people have run from
- 21:42them, I've seen. So I am connected onto some
- 21:45boards, like online boards and where they're talking about skin
- 21:49conditions and reactions and that kind of thing.
- 21:53And there's constantly pictures of people who have overdone
- 21:56their retinol and what's happened to their skin.
- 21:58So I think this product is its own category really, right?
- 22:03It really is. It's the only hydrating retinol.
- 22:06This is clinically proven by digital measurement to improve
- 22:11hydration. So it's going to allow people
- 22:15that have not been able to use a retinoid product in any class to
- 22:20be able to use this. It is that special.
- 22:22It also has our HA in it. And so you get double hydration
- 22:26with this is triple therapy. You have exosome therapy, you
- 22:28have retinol therapy, and you have HA therapy.
- 22:31If we talk about this a lot, that hydrantity, it's not the
- 22:35ingredients, it's the formulation.
- 22:37This formulation is more because there's a lot of products that
- 22:40have similar ingredients, but the formulation matters.
- 22:43It really matters. And I will give it to the team.
- 22:46We got this one right. This has been two years in the
- 22:48making and until it was perfect we weren't going to bring it
- 22:52out. And I don't know if it's perfect
- 22:55now, but all the feedback that we're getting so far just blown
- 22:58us away. That's phenomenal.
- 23:00I'm so glad to hear that. And the fact that you're in over
- 23:0330 countries, I mean, that's amazing.
- 23:06And how did you choose which global markets were the right
- 23:09ones for you? How did you do that?
- 23:12We have Brett Nixon, who works for me and he heads that part of
- 23:15the organization up. He's had a ton of experience
- 23:19doing international sales and he knew people.
- 23:23And so we just went and we just started knocking on doors and
- 23:27said, hey, here's who we are. And The thing is, whether it's a
- 23:31love hate or not, I've had to embrace this Instagram thing
- 23:35because that's, you know, but what happens is when you post a
- 23:39video now, it just goes across the world.
- 23:41And when people started seeing our success, it really happened
- 23:46when the client report for the second year in a row said you're
- 23:48the fastest growing skin care brand out there.
- 23:50When that happened, then we even had inbound calls going.
- 23:54And So what we try to do is we try to find who fits our values.
- 23:58We use the distributor model overseas.
- 24:01And so when you do that, you have to find someone that loves
- 24:04your product just as much as you do and they will put it in the
- 24:07right order. It's sometimes it's fact, but
- 24:11sometimes it's failing. Also, when you select a partner
- 24:13that's going to take your baby and do something with it.
- 24:16Well, it's great to see that. It does speak volumes that that
- 24:20many countries. So let me ask you have the
- 24:22celebrities and the Hollywood crew, have they tried the
- 24:26product that being influential in what's going on here?
- 24:30You know, it is, they use it. My marketing team is much more
- 24:34in depth at that than I am. But I think I kind of like
- 24:37country music, as you might think being here in Nashville.
- 24:40But I know that Brittany Aldean posted it.
- 24:42She loves our masks. She thinks our masks are the
- 24:45favorite. There's all kinds of people from
- 24:48somebody, you know, my age in in the 50s, Angie Harmon.
- 24:52She loves our products. She does it.
- 24:54There are a couple and I'm going to be in trouble for my team for
- 24:57not remembering, but there are four or five really super
- 25:01influential people that use this product and just love it.
- 25:05Alex Earl I think is 1 is that? I think that's right.
- 25:08She loves, she posts this all the time.
- 25:11I will tell you the product that everybody posts because it's so
- 25:14cool is our highest inactive. And so when I told everybody I
- 25:19was bringing hyperchloric acid into the aesthetics, they said
- 25:22don't do it, it's not going to work.
- 25:24And I said, well, hold on, No, no, everybody needs it here
- 25:28because it fights inflammation. Your skin needs to be cleaner,
- 25:30bacteria, it doesn't affect the Biome.
- 25:34And so that's the one that everybody posts because when
- 25:36they get on an airplane, they start doing it.
- 25:38They love all of our products. But that's the probably the most
- 25:41Instagram worthy because it has a mist and when you spray it, it
- 25:44just, it's like an ambion. It's so cool.
- 25:47And it is when we first came out, we were the only one.
- 25:50There's almost a dozen now people having sprays and mist
- 25:53and now so it's I think that's pretty cool.
- 25:56Well, that's the best form of flattery, right?
- 25:58And that's great that I did not realize that was even in the
- 26:02product. So thank you for sharing that.
- 26:05And I agree with you that learning Instagram later in life
- 26:09has been quite the challenge. I'm right there with you.
- 26:13So I don't. I don't create content, I just
- 26:15repost. Now I have learned how to use
- 26:17the repost app and it works well.
- 26:19Yes, but though the difference between the reels, the stories,
- 26:24the post, the repost, there's so, so much going on there, but
- 26:27and they don't realize how difficult it is for us that that
- 26:32we actually lived in a time where there was no social media.
- 26:35So but we're learning. And you're right, it really does
- 26:37make a difference for the brand and glad the celebrities are
- 26:41recognizing it and pushing it out there for you because it
- 26:44does make a difference. And then when it comes to Kols
- 26:48and influencers, what do you look for to make sure that
- 26:51they're aligned with the brand? All our influencers have been
- 26:55organic and again, we're a professional brand, but people
- 26:59like it and they post and I tell them thank you every time that I
- 27:02can. When I can message them, I tell
- 27:04them that when we look for Kols at scale, like you mentioned,
- 27:08we're chatting. We had a first Advisory Board
- 27:11and it was really interesting. We didn't do one for the first
- 27:14couple of years. We're young, brand, three years
- 27:17old this month, and we had eight spots.
- 27:22So when we filled those eight, we were getting calls.
- 27:25So we had a wait list of 12/12 others.
- 27:27And these are the top dermatologists and plastic
- 27:32surgeons in the industry. Of course, Dr. as you know,
- 27:35Doctor Goldberg, Dr. Doris Day, Davis Chambaum, Sheila
- 27:39Barbarinos, and now Chili Perry, Ted Lane, Patty Ferris.
- 27:44I look for people that I like that I can sit in a room with
- 27:49and just have a conversation, even if we disagree on the
- 27:52science. I just like nice people.
- 27:55I like people who challenge, you know, I told him you can say my
- 27:58baby's ugly. I don't care.
- 27:59I want to hear the truth. So I look for people who make us
- 28:03better as an organization, tell us the truth, even if it hurts
- 28:06our feelings. That's what I look.
- 28:08And I look for people who believe in the science because
- 28:11at the end of the day, it's kind of all go back to the data.
- 28:15We can do a lot, we can do smoke and mirrors on things, but the
- 28:19data's not going to lie to you. So when we're looking and we're
- 28:22talking to people, we start there and then we work our way
- 28:26out to the other things that matter.
- 28:28Right, Well, that's great that you like to be surrounded by
- 28:30people that tell you the truth because a lot of people are not
- 28:33like that, right? They just wonder what they want
- 28:36to hear. So that's great.
- 28:37So, beyond hydration, what do you think is the next frontier
- 28:42in skin health that excites you the most?
- 28:45I think we're going to see better science and I think we're
- 28:48going to see innovation with using exosomes.
- 28:52I really do think we're going to have more regenerative medicine
- 28:55products and I think that's going to be great for the
- 28:58industry. I'm intrigued by wearable
- 29:00devices. Could we do something that
- 29:02stimulates collagen this small that you keep in your pocket or
- 29:04even in your purse? There's some radio frequency
- 29:07things out there that are very interesting.
- 29:09I believe in multi modality. I believe we'll be able to see
- 29:12some products coming that do multiple things, not just one
- 29:15thing that really intrigues me because I'm all about skin
- 29:19amizing. We don't have time for two hour
- 29:22routines and 12 things to use like it was in COVID.
- 29:26And I think you see the market is shifted that way.
- 29:29And so we're trying to get ahead and I think we are ahead about
- 29:32because if you look at a lot of our hydrantity products, they do
- 29:34more than one thing. Vivid is, you know, I love that
- 29:38product because not only does it treat pigmentation, but it
- 29:41prevents pigmentation. And if you can do that and it
- 29:45also hydrates, I will tell you it's for brightening.
- 29:48It's the best non hydroquinone product out there and I don't
- 29:52draw a line in the sand much. There's only a couple of
- 29:54products that I say this is by far the best and that is one of
- 29:57them. It sounds like you've got the
- 30:00innovation down. Is there anything on the
- 30:03horizon? Obviously you're launching your
- 30:05retinol product. Is there anything else on the
- 30:08horizon for this year, or would it be 2026 before we see
- 30:11something new? No, it'll be 26 because we
- 30:15really we want to put our focus and attention on Retta Zone
- 30:19because it is so groundbreaking. It is true innovation and we, I
- 30:24just do not want to be distracted.
- 30:26I don't want the team to be distracted with something new
- 30:29because there's a lot of work that goes in developing new
- 30:32products. And if you look where we are
- 30:34right now with our line, we touch almost every major
- 30:38category. You know, now in the places that
- 30:40we don't, we're actively working on those.
- 30:43So I have a whiteboard in the Louisiana office full of ideas
- 30:48and things that we're working on.
- 30:50So we have more stuff coming. Believe me, we do.
- 30:53But we're not going to bring products out just to bring
- 30:55products out. If they're not true innovative,
- 30:57if they're not better than what's already on the market,
- 31:00then we're not going to do it. That's not fair to our partners.
- 31:03You say, Oh yeah, we have another one of these.
- 31:06And when something else is working, if it's not better,
- 31:08that's our hydrogenity promise. We will not bring it out if it's
- 31:11not better than what's currently available on the market.
- 31:14That's a great way to look at it, right?
- 31:15You want to be a differentiator. So I consider you, especially
- 31:20after all of the research that I've done and our conversation
- 31:24today, I consider you a skin care expert, right, a skin
- 31:27expert, a scientific expert, and knowing that you ran all of
- 31:30those clinical trials. So what do you think is the
- 31:34biggest opportunity in aesthetics and skin care that we
- 31:38will see in the next three years?
- 31:40Wow, that's a great question. I'm a believer in delivery
- 31:43systems, so this may be just my personal bias, but I absolutely
- 31:49believe you have to heal and to accelerate skin health at the
- 31:54dermal layer. We need more science there.
- 31:57We need more to get the active ingredients to where they really
- 32:00matter. I do think you'll see some
- 32:02innovation there by others. I think this biomimetic exosome
- 32:07that is ours encapsulated the retinol.
- 32:09I think that's going to start some of that cascade.
- 32:11I think you'll see more using that as a delivery system.
- 32:15We talked about the wearable devices.
- 32:17I'm super intrigued about that. I think a holistic approach.
- 32:22I like NAD. Yeah, but did you see the?
- 32:25Whole show about. That OK, I think that's great,
- 32:29but we haven't found a good way to have an oral form of that
- 32:33yet. And so there's some things that
- 32:35have been looked at and worked on that I think may make that
- 32:39available in the next 30 to 36 months.
- 32:43So there's that. I think at some point and nobody
- 32:46wants to hear this, we're going to advance and we're going to do
- 32:50some regenerative medicine products as an industry.
- 32:52I know what hydranty we are and I think once we do that, then I
- 32:56think at some point the FDA will have to step in.
- 33:01And if you're doing what you're supposed to, it doesn't matter.
- 33:05And so for some people, he may worry.
- 33:06It doesn't worry me. The only part that worries me is
- 33:09if we had to do those 70 patient clinical trials multiple because
- 33:14I know how much that cost us. I don't think that's necessary.
- 33:18Trying to look into the future. It's not next year, but it it
- 33:22probably is on the horizon at some point.
- 33:25Sure, sure. Well, it sounds like you've got
- 33:28an exciting rest of the year ahead and sounds like many
- 33:32people in many countries will be excited to use this new product.
- 33:36Congratulations on all of your success and thank you for
- 33:40sending me all these amazing products.
- 33:42And I will continue to report back and talk about my journey
- 33:46when I'm Instagram Ming. So my high journey and hopefully
- 33:51to continue see round. So finally, I guess my question
- 33:55is what piece of advice would you give to say Med spot owners
- 34:00or medical entrepreneurs that are looking to bring science
- 34:06back skin care into their business?
- 34:08And how would they essentially get set up with hydrenity?
- 34:11And then also for consumers, what's the best path for them to
- 34:15start on that journey and find a hydrenity clinic?
- 34:20We're fortunate, like I said, being a young company, but we're
- 34:22in over 3500 clinics here in the US.
- 34:25You can also go to Hydra, new website, find location Finder.
- 34:30We will actually probably about the time this airs, we will have
- 34:34a new updated website that I saw a preview of yesterday.
- 34:38It is spectacular. It will be an experience for
- 34:40people. They'll be able to go learn
- 34:42about the products and get more science and it will be an
- 34:46elevated experience for them. I think for people who, if you
- 34:50know, my number one advice to all estheticians and physicians
- 34:54are use high journey products. That's, that's how it's going to
- 34:57be. But second from that is just do
- 35:00what makes sense for you. Bring on what you need.
- 35:03Because I will tell you, I think part of our rapid adoption is
- 35:07that we don't have minimum size orders and I, we don't make you
- 35:11bring in every one of our skews. We let you choose what you want
- 35:15to use, what you think fits in your practice.
- 35:18If all you're doing is lasers every day, then some of my
- 35:22products you probably don't need.
- 35:24You need the restorative kit for sure.
- 35:26If you do no procedures, maybe you don't need some of our
- 35:29products. And so I think that's what has
- 35:34really helped us. And then the other thing is we
- 35:36guarantee our products, we tell people if you don't like them,
- 35:39we give your money back, no questions asked.
- 35:41And so I would just say to accounts that are looking to
- 35:45bring brands on, whether it's Hydrinity or another brand, ask
- 35:49who do they really stand behind it?
- 35:50Do they have a money back guarantee and see because?
- 35:55I read about. I know, I know.
- 35:56We do. I read about that during my
- 35:58research and I was so impressed. You know, Keith, you're so
- 36:01different than many business partners and different in a good
- 36:05way. We can feel the passion behind
- 36:09your products is palpable and everything that you're doing
- 36:13when you're talking about how you don't have a minimum order,
- 36:17I mean, just doing something like that to get clinic set up,
- 36:20it sounds like you're just so easy to work with, but yet
- 36:23you've created this powerhouse of a brand that's in over 3500
- 36:27clinics in over 30 countries. So clearly that image and that
- 36:33ease of working with you and then the ease of the way the
- 36:36products work, it all really close together.
- 36:38And congratulations on everything you've accomplished.
- 36:41I'm sure that we'll be revisiting and we'll have you on
- 36:45the show again next year to talk about what hydrogenity is up to
- 36:48at that point. No, thank you and I do, we
- 36:51appreciate the kind words. We love our partners and if you
- 36:55always do what's right for your partners, then it's going to be
- 36:58right for you. And we believe in giving them
- 37:00best in class products, but also it's best in class customer
- 37:04service. I think if you treat people the
- 37:07right way, you do what you say you're going to do, and you give
- 37:10them good products, then that's the battle right there.
- 37:14Absolutely. Well, you've won the battle and
- 37:17I think that you have won over the skin and the hearts of the
- 37:22of your cousin and they just keep coming back for more.
- 37:25So I'm sure everything that you bring to the table they will
- 37:28adopt. So is there anything else that
- 37:30you'd love to share with the audience?
- 37:31Yes, thank you for all of our current partners.
- 37:35We wouldn't be where we are without you.
- 37:38We value you and just know we really do.
- 37:40Thank you for those ones that we're not partners with yet
- 37:44because we're still growing and still adding people just know
- 37:47we're easy to work with. We will do what we say we're
- 37:50going to do and we will to again give you best in class products,
- 37:54best in class customer service. And the other thing is you've
- 37:57got to try retazone. This vitamin A here will change
- 38:02the way that you think about retinoid therapy.
- 38:05It is that spectacular. It's true innovation.
- 38:08And I have a feeling after listening to you talk about it,
- 38:10we have a large listener base of clinics and practitioners as
- 38:14well as consumers. And I have a feeling that the
- 38:17consumers are probably going to be going to the website and
- 38:21looking for the clinics where they can find the product
- 38:24because it does sound exhilarating to try it.
- 38:28And I think that you'll have a home run there.
- 38:30So congratulations, Keith. Please promise us that you'll
- 38:33come back next year and talk about everything that
- 38:35hydrogenity is up to at that time.
- 38:38I promise it was such a pleasure.
- 38:39Thank you again for having me. Absolutely.
- 38:42Well, thank you everybody for joining the show today and we
- 38:44look forward to seeing you on the next episode of the Doctor
- 38:47Randy Show. Doctor Randy Boyett holds a PhD
