Centenarian D-Day Veteran Jim Glennie Passes | Aberdeen News
A true hero of D-Day, Jim Glennie, has passed away at 100, leaving behind a legacy of courage and resilience. He landed on Normandy’s beaches in 1944, was captured at 19, endured POW captivity, and returned home forever changed. A cherished father and grandfather, he celebrated his 100th birthday just last August with honors from the King and Queen, a British Empire Medal, and an honorary degree from the University of Aberdeen.
