- 2:25coin to your Heathen over here. It's a great way of doing it.
- 2:29But if you want to have something a bit more tangible
- 2:31something you can look at every day put on every day.
- 2:34There is a pretty extensive merchandise store through spring
- 2:38and that's lengthened. Link tree link as well, so you

- 3:05have the logo and stuff on for midgard musing.
- 3:09So, I want to support the brand support the podcast as a great
- 3:12wave of doing, so and then you've got something that you
- 3:15can sport around and people be like, where'd you get that?
- 3:19What's that about? You can tell them about it and
- 3:21it's really cool. So, yeah, before we also a
- 3:27couple other things I want to really just, you know, one major
- 3:31thing, I guess I want to mention is I've talked in the past about
- 3:35attending certain local. Like public events.
- 3:40That that other groups around here put on some some like
- 3:44vending events where there's like games and other vendors,
- 3:47other Heathen or Pagan vendors. Usually attending some public
- 3:53events that are hosted by Raven Moon Hearth.
- 3:56So I do want to mention to you is all that next month and this
- 4:00has been, you know, this is a yearly recurring thing.
- 4:03So next month in May up in Spring Field.
- 4:09Think it is. Yeah.
- 4:11Springfield, Tennessee. Feast of the Fallen.
- 4:15It's a middle of may like it's the yeah, it's a weekend of May
- 4:2012. So May 12 13 through 14.
- 4:24It's a camping Feast that the, The Hearth puts on and up there
- 4:29and just outside of Nashville. And anyway, there's going to be
- 4:34an event like that I'll post out so you guys can check out more
- 4:37about it, but they It's an annual event that they host
- 4:39every year, again, they do camping, they do games, they
- 4:43have ritual. And it's a, it's an event to
- 4:47commemorate. And remember and fondness those
- 4:50who have who have died that have have fallen military members,
- 4:56you know, people who have Pass on in combat, I guess.
- 5:02So they have, I've never been to one of these rituals before and
- 5:06they've been one of these particular events before.
- 5:07So I'm really excited to attend for the first time.
- 5:09My wife and I will be there. I will be offering as I like to
- 5:14do offering grune readings. I will be teaching a class on
- 5:20the topic yet. I don't know what will be the
- 5:22subject matter, still coming up with that.
- 5:24But, you know, once I get that out, probably announce that on
- 5:28next week's podcast, You guys can be looking to looking
- 5:32forward to that as you're coming out to the event.
- 5:35And then my wife will be there offering some some Goods.
- 5:39So we've got goods and services, I will be providing the
- 5:42services, my wife, she's got the goods.
- 5:44It's a wood-burning project that she has that she does on the
- 5:49side just for fun. But she's gonna be making some
- 5:52things and selling some things and I'm sure taking orders.
- 5:54If you want something that we don't have that, you'd like for
- 5:57her to make some other like, Necklaces earrings and some
- 6:02Pagan themed jewelry. So, yes, we will be there at
- 6:06feasts of the Fallen. We will be there all weekend
- 6:09long, so Friday, Friday night, Saturday, and Saturday night.
- 6:14And then when everything's done will be leaving Sunday, but we
- 6:18will be there and we hope to see you there as well and
- 6:20information for that is down in the show notes and description.
- 6:25So be sure to check that out. I think it's for like the whole
- 6:29And I think the weekend passes, like 45 bucks, and that includes
- 6:35your meals for I think dinner Friday night, breakfast, lunch
- 6:41and dinner on Saturday and then breakfast on Sunday, and then
- 6:45they usually call it off. They they shut the event down.
- 6:51By lunchtime, and I don't remember if lunch is included.
- 6:53But either way, I mean, you get three Square meals on Saturday,
- 6:56you get, you know, workshops lessons, vendors games, ritual,
- 7:01like again, it's a great time. The Hearth puts on a really
- 7:04great event. I've been to their soon upload
- 7:07event, couple times, went to Shadow mood last year, will be
- 7:10returning for shadow moved this year.
- 7:12So for those of use, for those of you that are that are, you
- 7:15know, in the relative area that want to travel for something fun
- 7:18here in May, It's going to be, I said, May 12th through 14th.
- 7:24Looking forward to seeing you also check all that out down
- 7:27below in the link tree, link and or not the link to it in the
- 7:32show notes in the description. All right. so this is, this is
- 7:39this is one of those weeks where I was seriously contemplating on
- 7:46which topic I wanted to cover where I wanted to go, you know,
- 7:50with, with the the subject matter this week, what I wanted
- 7:53the episode to be about, there's so much stuff that's You know,
- 7:59circulating in my mind and that I even have just kind of sitting
- 8:02on, in the backlog of things. I've got You know, Graphics of
- 8:09thumbnails or whatever that I've made, four episodes that I've
- 8:12never released that, I've never recorded recorded and, you know,
- 8:17so those things are always kind of like brewing in the back of
- 8:19my mind. I know what I'm going to do that
- 8:20might be this week on something else comes up and this week was
- 8:23one of those weeks. You know, I was also not what I
- 8:25wanted to do something about. I kind of had my mind set on one
- 8:29particular thing. but then as quite often happens, I see a
- 8:37comment whether it's on a post from another content creator or
- 8:43whether it's on a comment made on a post that I made on one of
- 8:47my social platforms, you know, or just somebody that I'm
- 8:51connected to socially through other social apps, you know,
- 8:54something that they've talked about or we've chatted on the
- 8:57side And you know, so much of what these episodes end up,
- 9:01becoming are fueled by or inspired by stuff like that.
- 9:07And so that's what this week's episode is going to be about.
- 9:11It's going to be about how we can sort of reconcile or bring
- 9:18together the modern forms of dealing with I don't know what
- 9:26you want to call it, like, just life, you know I guess just life
- 9:34in general how we can reconcile or make friendly the the modern
- 9:39way of dealing with things and marrying it or incorporating the
- 9:44more ancient and maybe traditional Methods or models
- 9:50that get taken. So, this this image you guys
- 9:54have probably seen it, you know, pop around, and on your various
- 9:57social platforms. It's been out for years.
- 9:59I've even shared a few times and it makes me laugh every time I
- 10:01see it and it's like a screenshot from a, from an old
- 10:06movie. And I don't exactly recall what
- 10:09movie it's from. But this image, it's, it's,
- 10:12it's, it cracks me up every time because I always feel like I'm
- 10:15called out, right? And it, Says you know, the
- 10:18heading of it for those of you that are watching this on the
- 10:20video platform, it's here of now.
- 10:24But for those of you that are listening, it's it's kind of
- 10:28like one of those memes that has, you know, the the frame,
- 10:31the still frame of a movie with like a quote underneath it.
- 10:34But above it. It says me a rational
- 10:37intellectual who reasoned out the entire plan and entered into
- 10:42it with prudence and good judgment.
- 10:45And then says, also me and then below that is The image, the
- 10:48still, you know, the the frame still frame from a scene of a
- 10:52movie. It's like these, you know, Norse
- 10:54like Viking looking guy sitting around and it says, what do the
- 10:57room say? And I crack up laughing because
- 11:02I'm like it's a me you know like just at me next time.
- 11:05Why don't you because I've been there and I'm sure we all have
- 11:10to wear you know we're facing some sort of a Could be
- 11:15anything, I mean and I think quite quite often this sort of
- 11:19thing comes into play for us as heathens are pagans when we are
- 11:26faced with something of a challenge, right?
- 11:28In our life. Something that hits us that
- 11:31could really gum up the works or throw a monkey wrench into our
- 11:34plans. So you know, we go through all
- 11:37of the rationalizing of it, the making things seem logical and
- 11:45You know. Talking through it, maybe with
- 11:48some friends, or peers or confidants, you know, are near
- 11:52and dear loved ones, maybe a spouse or a partner, or just a
- 11:58close friend, you know, whatever.
- 11:59The the dynamic with it, with of, it would be.
- 12:03We, we find ourselves going through the process of again,
- 12:07rationalizing, making something logically reasoning to through
- 12:12things and then and then we also get into this mindset. it will
- 12:17let me consult the runes and let me do some sort of, you know,
- 12:23Different divinatory work, you know some some of our magickal
- 12:28workings that we find ourselves incorporating whether it's Taro
- 12:31or oracle cards or reading of bones or tea leaves or rooms or
- 12:37any other sort of thing. That a lot of non-traditional
- 12:43religious practices might incorporate.
- 12:47As I do know, a lot of folks who are not strictly you know
- 12:51dedicated to an or space. Authority Germanic path of
- 12:54paganism but that will, you know, incorporate the runes into
- 12:59their into their divinatory work. and, So again I saw this I
- 13:10left this is this was somebody who I'm not like personally
- 13:14connected to have not met this person before but we're friends
- 13:16on social platforms and he he responded to I cuz again I
- 13:23responded with a Mario gift that says, it's a me because I do.
- 13:28I always feel like called out like, I'm that guy.
- 13:31It's, that's me right there. Yeah, I give if I'm a meme,
- 13:33that's it. And he said, you know, that that
- 13:36might actually make for a decent podcast episode in his question
- 13:41or the thing that he poses is how do you reconcile more modern
- 13:45forms of knowledge and thought with ancient and traditional
- 13:49models of life and thinking? man, that's a that's a relatable
- 13:56topic, you know, because I think I said I'm not the I can't be
- 13:59the only one that goes through life and experiences some of the
- 14:03things that I experienced that we experience and You know, find
- 14:10ourselves. Again, going through that
- 14:13rational thinking okay, you know, what should I do?
- 14:15How should I do it? What's the smart way of going
- 14:18about it? How should I execute it?
- 14:22And then also, you know, lighten our candles and incense or, you
- 14:29know, smudging, an area or whatever we do in our
- 14:32individual, you know, private ways are individual cultic
- 14:36practices that would fall under eight lassies as he's putting a
- 14:42name or maybe ancient traditional.
- 14:47Modes or models, you know, of going about it.
- 14:51And I have to think about, you know, we often times were going
- 14:54to look to maybe sources or we're going to go you know,
- 14:59based off of maybe folklore or other stories of, you know, what
- 15:07was done in ancient times that Falls under this category.
- 15:12You know you read about as much as Odin knows we'll just go down
- 15:18with that example. Write as much as Odin knows and
- 15:21is always seeking knowledge. You know, he goes and he
- 15:25consults the Cirrus And and wants to know things that even
- 15:33he himself doesn't doesn't know, right?
- 15:35So, he could rationalize things or he could think through things
- 15:38in a pretty logical way with Odin being who he is.
- 15:43But still goes in, goes down that path of seeking knowledge
- 15:48in a more mystical through Mystic mystical Channel.
- 15:55We don't know exactly if they were runes.
- 15:57It's I think it's largely assumed that they were but you
- 15:59know when in tacitus takas tacitus however you say it, the
- 16:06Roman guy who wrote his Germania and in documents not necessarily
- 16:14eyewitness things. But things that is troops had
- 16:18witness he's sort of like secondhand Source writing things
- 16:23down about how Germanic tribes that Did you know in tacitus is
- 16:26Germania? We hear about how the the tribes
- 16:31or the the people would cast a lots.
- 16:36And they were symbols of they were they were there were marks
- 16:40cut into branches of a fruit-bearing tree or whatever
- 16:44the terminology. I think it's, I think it's a
- 16:45fruit-bearing tree. If they were pieces of the, of
- 16:48the wood, from a fruit-bearing tree, where symbols were carved
- 16:51or marked into them, and they were cast at random again.
- 16:56It doesn't say that they were runes, I don't think they, even
- 16:58in the older translations, it could even be Thought that they
- 17:05are rooms that he's talking about, but because we don't
- 17:10know, I think it's just been popularly assumed that they got
- 17:15to be rooms. And as we all know I mean like
- 17:19runes have been used for a relatively short period of time
- 17:25in the sense of divinatory or more magic and Ivan also seeing
- 17:31a lot of controversy up lately between the academic or
- 17:36scholarly types of our rooms themselves magic are they not
- 17:42there seems to be a an argument in favor of both.
- 17:47You know, from both sides, I think It.
- 17:50Ultimately, if you're going to think that the runes have any
- 17:53sort of inherent magic in them, then there's a lot of There's a
- 18:00lot of UPG that that's rooted in, you know, your own personal
- 18:04unverified, gnosis has experiences things that have
- 18:08happened that you no longer are real for you that, you know, you
- 18:13can't necessarily say it's real or true for everybody.
- 18:18But I think there's there's there's there's compelling
- 18:20arguments on both ends of the spectrum too. you know, to make,
- 18:28I've personally worked with runes enough to have feel feel
- 18:32to have feelings that there is Maybe not just, maybe they're
- 18:37not inherently magical, but that, that the working with them
- 18:40is, is where the magic Comes Alive.
- 18:43You know, we're things can be manifest or things can be seen.
- 18:47And so, you know, whatever, whatever form of divination you,
- 18:51you tend to dabble in. If it's a mixture of many
- 18:54different types or if you were a bit more focused, like I mean,
- 18:57myself personally, I don't know the first thing of tarot
- 19:01readings, I don't really I've had the cards read.
- 19:05For me a number of times for different in different
- 19:09scenarios. I've had other things read,
- 19:14like, bones and scales and nand and other animal remains, you
- 19:17know, like a mixture of teeth. Shells, bones.
- 19:26Klaus. You know, scales.
- 19:30That guess I like a bunch a mixture of different organic
- 19:33things that have been used as a divination method and I find
- 19:42them all very fascinating and I think there's there's something
- 19:44to be said for them all. I am a believer in magic in that
- 19:47way and if you do or don't, that's neither here.
- 19:53Nor there. but the point being is that You know, we all I think
- 19:59tend to find ourselves in situations in our lives.
- 20:03Where are we? Want to. not discount, the
- 20:09validity, or the or the importance of Tapping into the
- 20:15realm of the Unseen, the spiritual room to either seek an
- 20:19answer or seek some sort of guidance. you know, and I again
- 20:25with not being an expert on all forms of divination, I'm not
- 20:30going to try to speak the things that I don't, I saw personally
- 20:33have any experience in but when it comes to runes and reading
- 20:39rooms, From my experience it's never been for me.
- 20:47That the runes give us answers. It's not like a Magic 8-Ball,
- 20:52you know? I think when we, when we Enter
- 21:00it to into a situation where the rooms are being consulted or
- 21:04where we're looking for some sort of consultation from the
- 21:08runes. We're looking at.
- 21:16What's a possibilities? Maybe not even probabilities,
- 21:20but potential outcomes based off of.
- 21:26Certain actions. And again, I think that what the
- 21:31runes present or what the runes tell us in divination is largely
- 21:38going to be based off of things that we've already done.
- 21:41How much we have put into. Words.
- 21:45Well, The Well of alert. What?
- 21:50What have we actively done already.
- 21:52So this marrying of the reconciling of two seemingly,
- 22:00you know, polar opposite ways of conducting ourselves?
- 22:03As you know, do we Can we how do we?
- 22:09Incorporate them both, you know, effectively.
- 22:12And I think one can't be done without the other, you know, if
- 22:15you're not the type to consult any sort of, you know, magical
- 22:21medium, whether it be a Volvo or via turkey or a or a, or a save
- 22:28mom or save Kona or any other sort of, you know, serious
- 22:33spiritual worker. You know, anybody that has that
- 22:36sort of vision. You're not the type to Down that
- 22:39path. And then then then don't, you
- 22:41know, like that's again it's it all a matter of personal things
- 22:44but it was done in those times, it was done in ancient times
- 22:49where, you know, if you were looking for an outcome of
- 22:53something, if you wanted consultation from somebody, who
- 22:55could see things that you couldn't see, that's who you
- 22:57went to, you didn't do it yourself.
- 23:00You know, it's like kind of like, I look at it as like a if
- 23:03you're not a dentist, you're not going to give yourself a root
- 23:06canal. I don't even think you would, if
- 23:08you were a dentist to be honest with you, you're not gonna do
- 23:11that kind of surgery on your son yourself, but, you know, you're
- 23:15not a, you're not at least a capable mechanic, you're not
- 23:19going to place your own transmission, right?
- 23:22Like you're going to Seek out the expert of the thing that you
- 23:27need done to get it done properly.
- 23:30And similarly, if your Looking for answers for things that you
- 23:36maybe. Feel that, you know, have a
- 23:42place. To have divination done or any
- 23:47sort of spiritual workings done on, then they should be that you
- 23:51go to the person or to the people who have proven through
- 23:57their deeds through their works. That it's the right person to go
- 24:00to, you know, Which is tough nowadays, because so many
- 24:07people. You know, they they buy a book.
- 24:12Or they maybe attend the seminar.
- 24:17Or they go to a workshop or something, you know, that one
- 24:22person. At that one time.
- 24:25And then all of a sudden, they're there are a guru,
- 24:28they're an expert, they've figured it out and they come,
- 24:33they come up with this fake name or this, you know, mystical name
- 24:37that makes him a more than what they are.
- 24:40And it's if they're charlatans, you know, like it's there just
- 24:43to take your money and they, there's no, there's no realness
- 24:47behind them. Now, there are those who have
- 24:51dedicated their life to being taught by people who have,
- 24:58Dedicated their lives to it, right?
- 24:59So there's this almost like lineage.
- 25:04Kind of mentality of behind it. Where, you know, you get taught
- 25:08by the one who was taught by the one who was taught by somebody,
- 25:11who might like, there's this again, this like, lineage
- 25:13mentality behind it. So they have that reputation.
- 25:16They have that your friend if he will.
- 25:19That says, I know what I'm talking about.
- 25:21I've got the credentials. I've got the the experience.
- 25:24I've got all the things that are Confirming that I know what I'm
- 25:32doing. You know what I'm talking about.
- 25:34Not just some fly-by-night, you know, got my certificate printed
- 25:38off at Kinkos yesterday and you know I'm a victim.
- 25:42Now I'm a goalie. Now I'm at this.
- 25:43I'm at that. Right.
- 25:51So how do we reconcile that? That's how I feel.
- 25:55You know if if you're not the person to do it and if you're
- 25:58not the then don't try you know seek out if you're if you're
- 26:04considering incorporating this until your thought processes,
- 26:08you know if like hey I've done everything.
- 26:10I think I should do. I want to see maybe the other
- 26:13side of it. I want to see more to it than
- 26:17than meets the eye. Go to someone who is trusted, A
- 26:20task, right? Don't just go for the person
- 26:24that first pops up and says, oh, I know what I can.
- 26:28I know how to do this. I'll help you out right vet
- 26:31them. Make sure they're worth that
- 26:35effort and that that energy that you that you that you're
- 26:37investing in. and whatever it is, you know, whether it's
- 26:43Runes, whether it's some other sort of. divinatory method that
- 26:48you maybe haven't seen or heard of before, like, for those that
- 26:53have been in the area that we're at Shadow moot last year, Our
- 26:59Thule, our tribal, fill my friend Patrick you know he's
- 27:03been developing a system for the larger part of 20 plus years.
- 27:09That is not strictly you know based around like reading of
- 27:14cards. It's actually bit way more
- 27:16intricate and complex than just that but from his system that
- 27:22he's developed this a grown man see system, which I would I
- 27:28would have, you know, he's got a crazy schedule and I think, you
- 27:31know, one of these days we're just going to have to figure out
- 27:33a time to get him on this podcast and talk about this, you
- 27:37know, in a bit more of a You know, like, break it down as
- 27:43much as we're able to. Because if you not met the man,
- 27:45if you not been in person, he doesn't do much on it with
- 27:48social media because he's still trying to figure out how to do
- 27:53it. It is that complex, it's not
- 27:54just like, oh well, here's a deck of cards, here's how you
- 27:57read them, you know, here's a book on how to do it.
- 28:00It's like, there's, there's multiple Decks that make up this
- 28:03system that originally wasn't, even, I don't believe at least.
- 28:09I don't think it originated as a System for like divination it
- 28:13stemmed from things. Other than that you know he has
- 28:16this calendar he's got rituals, the ritual system worked into it
- 28:21and numbering system and alphabet like all very, very
- 28:24intricate stuff and then from it all you know, the, the symbols
- 28:28the Glyphs become men, Dalek or turned into a man.
- 28:36Dalek symbol. That kind of brings it all
- 28:40together and he can explain it much better than I can.
- 28:45It sounds like a bunch of wacky stuff right now, but I'm telling
- 28:48you for those that were a shadow moved last year that got a
- 28:51chance to see him present, what he, what he did for the first
- 28:54time ever. I mean, like I said, the man's
- 28:55been working on this for more than 20 years of the bigger part
- 28:58of 20 years, at least. and last year and shot him, it was the
- 29:03first time that it was ever presented to the public in the
- 29:07way that it was But the reason I brought it up is again, you
- 29:13know, that may be something that you encounter, similarly, from
- 29:18somebody or somebodies that, you know, and it's like, well,
- 29:21nobody's ever heard of this, you know, nobody's ever seen
- 29:23anything like this before and yet, you know, they've got all
- 29:27of these years. I've got all of this experience
- 29:30behind them that's that that proves Or that it had to that
- 29:34has been proven that there's something behind it, and that
- 29:37it's beneficial. you know, so don't necessarily discount or
- 29:43discredit something that somebody says just because I
- 29:47can't find that in any sort of, you know, Old Source material or
- 29:51I haven't read a book about that or you know, it's again it's, it
- 29:56is a fine line and it's a Kind of like walking the straight and
- 30:02narrow path on that you know because you got some really
- 30:04wacky wacky things out here that are wacky in a bad way that I
- 30:09guess, you know, don't don't be afraid to explore a little bit
- 30:13and just extend and see because that's how you learn.
- 30:15That's how you you know you don't learn from from just
- 30:19sitting here and waiting for stuff to happen.
- 30:21You you learn by leaving and going out and voyaging and
- 30:25exploring and venturing out wandering, you know?
- 30:29I saw something the other day. Somebody share the.
- 30:32It was a He was Papa listen my dear friend and brother feel
- 30:39that your Workshop that right he had shared something about.
- 30:42You know the knowledge that doctors Physicians Healers
- 30:49Sorcerers shamans those types, you know, the medicine man,
- 30:53Medicine Woman, The Witches, the whatever name you want to put to
- 30:56them, the knowledge that they've, you know, achieved and
- 31:01acquired has not been knowledge that they just collected
- 31:05locally. They've had to go out and travel
- 31:09and even to this day, right? Like Medical doctors and stuff.
- 31:14You know they they they go places.
- 31:16They don't just stay in one place, they they're going to
- 31:20travel, they're going to study under you know, different
- 31:26locations different different sources, and they're going to
- 31:31require that that skill that knowledge by Traveling by
- 31:36wandering of it. And I think that's a neat thing
- 31:39to bear in mind that with, with, with Odin and his seeking of
- 31:43knowledge. Again, it's he's not just
- 31:45getting online and Googling it, you know, he's not just using
- 31:49his Godly powers to, you know, whatever human and mutant bring
- 31:53back to me is as my knowledge for the day.
- 31:54He's going out and he's wandering himself and he's
- 31:58seeking that knowledge himself. He's putting in the work.
- 32:04Good way to tie into the the topic, you know, putting in the
- 32:08work. It's not just waiting for it to
- 32:13land in his lap. It's not just that we, you know,
- 32:18explore all options. I guess, explore all options and
- 32:27See what fits, you know? Maybe maybe not, everything is
- 32:30going to fit. Maybe the said before, if it
- 32:34doesn't feel right to consult the rooms, there's plenty of
- 32:36times guys where I've, you know, had things happen and I have
- 32:41consulted the runes. I've, I've done readings or
- 32:44people have asked for Rune readings, right?
- 32:46And there there there's times for that and there's other times
- 32:50where I'm like, I don't need to I don't need to consult the
- 32:54runes for this. I don't need to find out
- 32:58anything else other than what I already know, right what I've
- 33:01already done but the the The combination.
- 33:07Of figuring it out going through that like rational thought
- 33:12process. Good judgment and all that.
- 33:17Sometimes you need that kind of wild look on things, sometimes
- 33:21you need that perspective. That that changes that changes,
- 33:27but adds a layer, you know, adds another as another layer that
- 33:33you have to peel back and explore a bit, But yeah.
- 33:39So before we move on with the episode though, I do want to
- 33:43Kind of take a. Little detour off here.
- 33:46We're going to we're going to jump off the exit, you know?
- 33:48So if you guys in the use bathroom now is the time.
- 33:52Like you're missing me going on these road trips vacations.
- 33:54You know anybody need to pee pull it off right now.
- 33:58Not stopping. Again, that's a word from our
- 34:01sponsor. I say our sponsors a word.
- 34:05It's a word from Yeah, we call it will say a word from our
- 34:10sponsor, right? And this episode is, is brought
- 34:15to all of you in part, thanks to the sacred Trail Society.
- 34:22So the second trial, society, as a volunteer base Community
- 34:26effort for environmental awareness and custodianship
- 34:29volunteers, work Hands-On, and local community public Wildlife
- 34:33spaces, Trails waterways parks and Greenways, practicing and
- 34:39encouraging. A personal responsibility for
- 34:41ourselves and fellow humankind and the shared Wildlife spaces
- 34:46for all life to enjoy. Although we are part of nature,
- 34:50we only visit these places while the plant and animal life there,
- 34:54call it home. All Trails may be considered
- 34:58sacred in their own, right? But even more.
- 35:00So for their potential to host meaningful experiences for any
- 35:04who visit or travel them The plant and animal life that
- 35:08reside there, and the spirits of all who lived there before
- 35:12contribute to this experience, and offering of opportunity to
- 35:15connect there. Preservation of the natural and
- 35:18Wild Spaces, we share with the earth water sky and all its
- 35:22inhabitants are of the utmost importance in their mission in
- 35:27our mission. Natural Wild Spaces are in
- 35:32constant decline as the push to develop land increases their,
- 35:36for the opportunity to share and enjoying them is dwindling.
- 35:40Giving us all the more reason to take care of them, doing what we
- 35:43can to maintain them. Keeping the land and water clean
- 35:49from trash litter and we leaving that do not and leavings that do
- 35:54not belong. There are also helping to keep
- 35:56the air clean in the native plant and animal life healthy.
- 36:01Taking part in the effort and movement is a simple as bringing
- 36:03a bag along with you. When visiting these State spaces
- 36:07in your local community collecting trash or litter,
- 36:10others have left behind and disposing of it properly
- 36:13properly and responsibly The wildlife will thank you and as
- 36:19will the next person that visits and is able to enjoy the space
- 36:22as it should be free from litter.

- 37:10All right, so there you go. I'm very proud to share that
- 37:16information on each episode that I that I that I release now
- 37:21going forward because this is something that I helped co-found
- 37:29or I'm labeled as a co-founder you know, Papa Olufsen myself I
- 37:36mentioned Patrick earlier our tribal fool and our tribe,
- 37:40Goethe oaf. You know we're all I guess
- 37:45co-founders collectively of sacral society and It's, you
- 37:52know, as a nurse animist, I guess you could say myself.
- 37:57I'm leaning more into. If I had to put a label to
- 38:00anything, labels are silly. I mean it's not doesn't make or
- 38:04break anything. But Nordic, animism does have a
- 38:09nice ring to it. It makes a lot of sense with
- 38:11what values I hold but you know, having that mentality of nature
- 38:19being sacred. And taking care of the land.
- 38:22And in the things, you know, I was I was out earlier this week
- 38:28just on a walk, you know, like I wasn't Going out to pick up
- 38:32trash but whenever I do go out on walks on the Greenways by the
- 38:35river. I'm always picking up trash.
- 38:40There's there's there's always something to pick up, you know,
- 38:44gum wrappers soda, can beer bottles cups, whatever.
- 38:49And I had a bag and off, there was a little white bag or
- 38:54looking shopping shopping sack and just throwing stuff in
- 38:58there. And several times, you know,
- 39:02People did say thank you. No respect.
- 39:05I appreciate that. And any chance that I can get,
- 39:08you know, if they're like running passing, not going to,
- 39:09hey, hold on a minute. And I, you got second, I can
- 39:12talk to you about. I'm looking to do that, but if
- 39:16they engage in a, you know, say that's great.
- 39:18Thanks for doing that, you know? Say, You do it now, right?
- 39:21Please carry on carry this on with what you do.
- 39:24You're going in that direction. I'm going this direction.
- 39:26You see something that needs to go in the trash, pick it up and
- 39:28take it with you. Drop it in the trash can and
- 39:32that's opportunity you get, you know, doesn't have to be a lot.
- 39:34Like you don't have to go out there and pick up, you know, 19,
- 39:36trash bags, full of litter, just whatever it is.
- 39:41It's, you know, most of us have pockets, most of us have a free
- 39:44hand, you know, pick it up, throw it away.
- 39:49I got a couple responses. Yeah, I'm going to do that,
- 39:52right? I mean I don't know if they will
- 39:54or not but at least you know it, we don't do it for that reason.
- 39:58We don't do it for the recognition, Don't Do It For the
- 40:02Glory, maybe but do it out of the pureness and then desire to
- 40:06want to keep what is sacred? Holy and sacred to us, you know,
- 40:12like keep it keep it that way. And as I said, Wildlife will
- 40:16thank you. And so, will the people that
- 40:18come by and because they're out there enjoying nature to, you
- 40:22know what I mean. You're not necessarily the ones
- 40:26that left that trash there but seeing somebody pick it up,
- 40:31could be an inspiration for people to say oh man, that's a
- 40:35good idea. I want to do that so check out
- 40:40the link to relink or not the lecture.
- 40:41I keep saying that check out the description for the Appalachian
- 40:44animism website and the social media links for sacred trust
- 40:50Society. There's also a Earth Day event
- 40:56coming up that is a again public worldwide event.
- 41:00It's a on the sacred Trail Society Facebook page.
- 41:05So up coming here soon and whatever the next few weeks, at
- 41:10least, maybe less my birthday is I believe the event is the
- 41:16weekend of the 21st, so I think it's like Saturday the 22nd or
- 41:19that whole area, we can whatever.
- 41:22It's again, just a, an inspired event to go out on the trail.
- 41:27Take a sack with you, take a bag.
- 41:29Go for a walk and pick up what litter there is and, you know,
- 41:35do better. And as we mentioned before, the,
- 41:38the merchandise that gets sold is proceeds for that go back
- 41:45into the organization to You know provide more supplies and
- 41:53and things to further the effort.
- 41:55So check it all out for sure. But yeah, so anyway, back to
- 42:01back to what we were saying. You know, I, I think that how
- 42:07it's done is, is it's done carefully and with purpose, We
- 42:13how we? You know, like don't skip the
- 42:17steps, don't don't just go until.
- 42:19Let me see what the cards say. Let me see what the tea leaves
- 42:23say, what does you know, what are the runes?
- 42:26Say, and then don't do that with and with neglect to the first
- 42:32part of things, you actually using your head and talking with
- 42:38people if you having a hard time with something, if you're having
- 42:40a or you just need an extra set of eyes on it, maybe need some
- 42:48We call that second opinions. There's plenty of times where
- 42:51I'm like, well I think this is what I should do.
- 42:53I feel like this is what I should do when you bounce it off
- 42:56with somebody else, you know? I mean let me run it by somebody
- 43:00who have can trust that. Will provide Good Counsel, you
- 43:06know, in a good read on it. I don't, you know, I don't ever
- 43:13just put stuff out like of that nature on.
- 43:18A public platform. I don't think that people should
- 43:22open up themselves to that kind of you know, BB at free about
- 43:27it, but whoever you trust could be just one person could be a
- 43:31few people, right? Go down that route and and maybe
- 43:37get their Insight on it because they could have a way of seeing
- 43:42it that you don't. And maybe that way is is going
- 43:46to enhance or maybe change or do something with with what you're
- 43:51already thinking of. And because let's face it guys.
- 43:53Like we all have that that, that bias that be approach things
- 44:00with, you know, a lot of us, you know, when we're presented with
- 44:05something that could be a challenge or difficult.
- 44:09And a lot of us are resorted to what we were going to decide on
- 44:13before we even get there. Like a lot of the times we we
- 44:17reach a conclusion. Without.
- 44:23Logically rationally thinking through everything first.
- 44:28So because we've reached that conclusion already without doing
- 44:31all that all of the steps in between are going to be affected
- 44:35by that bias. So, When it comes to like, you
- 44:41know, Big Time stuff, you know, I'm not talking about what
- 44:43should I have for dinner? You know, should I have chicken
- 44:45tonight or steak or I'm talking like potentially life-changing
- 44:52things, or maybe just some stuff that that can weigh heavy, you
- 44:56know, like, How one should perhaps deal with family
- 45:04members? when it comes to a particular
- 45:10topic or you know, subject matter that you find conflict
- 45:17with with with certain people you know and you want to address
- 45:20it and how should I address it? I think I should do it this that
- 45:23way the other and talk to other people and get their thoughts or
- 45:27opinions on it. Can can make a difference,
- 45:31perhaps, or change it for good, or Better, or For Better, or For
- 45:36Worse? I should say, maybe you're
- 45:39hell-bent on it. Being a certain way and then you
- 45:42talk to somebody else and they go man, I wouldn't I would do it
- 45:45this way. I think we'll, why would they
- 45:49say it? Why would they say it
- 45:50differently or why would they come up with a different?
- 45:55Result that I would. Yeah it's probably because of
- 45:58that bias and I have wonder if we as individuals if we you know
- 46:05go into something like a rune reading or card reading break.
- 46:10I said we already have that answer in the back of our minds
- 46:14that we've arrived at prior to any sort of rational or logical
- 46:18thought how much of that? Affects our impacts what we want
- 46:25to see. You know, from from the
- 46:29Divination. So that's why I say, you know,
- 46:33it's you should probably a good idea if you know, if it's a big
- 46:37thing like that that you, you, maybe go outside of yourself, go
- 46:42to someone who is trusted and ask them to give a reading about
- 46:48the situation if that's what you want to do.
- 46:51Like if if you're looking for that sort of feedback, if you're
- 46:54looking for that sort of, Insight, you know, an unbiased
- 47:01perspective. Then you have to take yourself
- 47:04out of it completely, you know. So I've had to actually I've had
- 47:10to really search myself a few times in my life, more than it
- 47:15just a few times. Actually, when it comes to stuff
- 47:18like that, you know. it was the answer that I'm is the answer
- 47:24that I've arrived at. did I, did I get to that answer before I
- 47:28even Looked at all the possibilities that I give it
- 47:32good rational logical. Thought that I get some buying
- 47:37from people who I should get some buy-in from some some
- 47:40counsel from did I go into my divination with, you know, an
- 47:47existing bias already and has that impacted.
- 47:49What I'm seeing here is my vision clouded because of
- 47:55because of that. You know.
- 47:59So I think that's I think that's a an important part of all of
- 48:05this, you know, it's not that we shouldn't or that it's, you
- 48:07know, you know, Ill-advised to the gist.
- 48:17Go one way or the other or not incorporate any of those things.
- 48:21But Do it, do it, do it, rightly do it wisely, you know. so, But
- 48:32yeah, man. That was a that was a that was a
- 48:34really good question and it gave me something else to think about
- 48:39today when I Was preparing for this episode.
- 48:44So Bradley This is actually thanks to you Bradley for
- 48:51privacy reasons. Save a last name, but yeah.
