Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:02
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
where we left off with the Leslie Groff interview with
• 0:10
Congress Miss Tolan. Question a few more questions on gifts. Generally,
• 0:16
did you ever facilitate payment for school tuition for any
• 0:19
woman or girl associated with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer? I did
• 0:23
not facilitate payment. Question did you purchase order or in
• 0:28
any way help procure gifts for any of the following
• 0:31
individuals Gleayne Maxwell answer no, Leon Black answer no, Doug
• 0:35
Band answer no. Bill Gates answer no question. And as
• 0:40
we have mentioned, part of the committee's investigation is trying
• 0:43
to understand how mister Epstein sought to curry favor with
• 0:46
prominent individuals. Are there any other prominent individual that mister
• 0:50
Epstein would send expensive or frequent gifts to answer in
• 0:54
the government question? Just any prominent individual? Answer? There was
• 1:00
the time when him and Tommy Matola used to send
• 1:03
each other gifts, but that's all I can remember. Question
• 1:06
and do you what kind of gifts? Answer? I don't know,
• 1:08
maybe a four wheeler, I don't remember. I felt like
• 1:12
they were just trying to give each other. I'll do
• 1:13
one another with a better gift at one time. Question
• 1:17
did you have a credit card for work? Answer no.
• 1:21
Question did you ever use your personal credit card for
• 1:23
making purchases? Answer no, Miss Brignac. Were you reimbursed for
• 1:28
purchases Graf? No, Brignac. Were you expected to cover your
• 1:32
own travel and expenses related to your position? Graff? If
• 1:36
I was? I barely traveled, but no. If I did travel,
• 1:39
that would be reimbursed. Bachner. Can I have one more word? Graf? Yeah,
• 1:45
go off the record, now they're back, Brignac. In your role,
• 1:48
did you ever coordinate or facilitate trips for foreign women
• 1:52
or girls? Answer? I would coordinate airfare for women and
• 1:55
men to see mister Abstein. Question could you walk me
• 1:58
through that process? Answer sure. Mister Epstein would direct me
• 2:02
to give me a name and ask me to coordinate
• 2:05
a flight for someone to wherever it was that they
• 2:07
needed to fly from to go visit them. Question why
• 2:10
answer he did not tell me that question you never asked?
• 2:14
Answer no. Question did you ever identify, recruit, screen, interview,
• 2:19
or recommend any foreign women or girls for meetings or
• 2:22
employment with mister Epstein or his associates answer no. Question
• 2:27
did you ever assist anyone else to recruit a foreign
• 2:30
woman or girl? Answer no. Question How are these women
• 2:34
identified that you did assist in coordinating travel for answer
• 2:38
I don't know. Question who provided their names in contact information?
• 2:43
Answer mister Epstein. Question who made the final determination on
• 2:47
whether a young woman or girl received visa sponsorship? Answer?
• 2:51
I don't know. Question do you have any role in
• 2:54
a visa sponsorship process? Answer no, Timmins. Can I back
• 2:58
up ask you a question if you ever coordinated the
• 3:01
introduction of any foreign nationals? And you said no, Graff
• 3:05
the introduction of Timmins. What was the question? Have you
• 3:09
ever participated in visa sponsorship for a foreign woman or
• 3:13
a girl? Timmins? Did you ever identify, recruit, screen, or
• 3:17
recommend foreign women or girls for employment or meetings with
• 3:21
mister Epstein or his associates Graff No, Timmins. Were you
• 3:25
ever involved in the process Graff No, Timmins. On May first,
• 3:29
twenty twelve, you're emailing back and forth regarding a girl
• 3:33
from Ukraine. Darling. Here's a picture of the new girl.
• 3:36
She's twenty one, very sweet and lovely. Let me know
• 3:39
when you receive them, please, I took them from her portfolio.
• 3:43
Maybe the quality is not so good, but I think
• 3:45
you can still see everything. So you have a person
• 3:48
their names are adacted here and I'm not going to
• 3:50
use their name, but the person is Eastern Europe that
• 3:53
is communicating with you, not with mister Epstein, and providing
• 3:57
photos of a girl. And it seems that, I mean,
• 3:59
there's no nineteen year old girl, and there's a twenty
• 4:01
one year old girl. So how do you reconcile the email?
• 4:04
I mean, we can get the print out for you.
• 4:06
That seems like what you're doing, Graf. No, Timmins, So
• 4:10
what was the purpose of the communication, Graf, I don't
• 4:14
recall the purpose or what it was. To me, it
• 4:16
sounds like this was models or possibly I don't know, Timmins. Okay,
• 4:21
I saw it on the document. We'll get a printed Tolan.
• 4:24
And to follow up on that point, I'll now introduce
• 4:26
majority exhibit too. Tolan will give it a second to
• 4:30
get passed out. But this is a chain of emails
• 4:32
between as Groff and a redacted name. These emails are
• 4:36
dated April eighteenth, twenty twelve, and the subject line reads
• 4:40
first girl redacted. The Bates number is EFTA zero two
• 4:44
zero two seven six three eight will give you a
• 4:47
moment to review Tolin. Question. This is an email that
• 4:52
was just being referenced. If you read it from the
• 4:55
bottom up, the first email states, Hi, Leslie, I'm so
• 4:58
sorry in front of Jeffrey for my delay. I'm sending
• 5:01
you pictures of two of my friends now they're both Russians.
• 5:04
Winky face. Here's first her name is redacted and it
• 5:08
says there's another name listed below, and on the back
• 5:11
of the page page two, there's an entirely redacted image.
• 5:15
Answer okay question, and then miss Groff you respond on
• 5:18
the same day with just a winky face. So, just
• 5:21
for the record to be clear, are you familiar with
• 5:24
this email? Answer? I don't recall it, but I think
• 5:27
I said no worries, thanks, and someone else had the
• 5:29
winky face question. Okay, thank you. Answer. I don't recall
• 5:34
this email. The date seems to suggest that it's possible
• 5:37
he was looking for new traveling assistance Timmins. Sorry, let's
• 5:40
be very clear. He was attempting to find people that
• 5:43
he was going to sex and human traffic for the
• 5:45
next decade, So I mean, yeah, it's an assistant but
• 5:48
that's what he was doing, Miss Baukner. Are you asking
• 5:51
if she knew it? Timmins, I just I don't like
• 5:54
people using that word assistant. I correct people when they
• 5:57
say it because it's not accurate. She's in assistant, mister Witcomb.
• 6:01
She's testifying, sir, you're not mister Backner. In all fairness,
• 6:05
she's not disputing what Jeffrey Epstein did. If you're asking
• 6:08
what she knew back then she'll gladly answer the question.
• 6:11
But she's not disputing that mister Epstein was his person
• 6:14
doing what you're claiming she was doing or he was doing,
• 6:17
mister Timmins, and that was to find culpability in the process.
• 6:21
Backner understood, Timmins. When she's facilitating the flow of information
• 6:25
and people, that's why we're here. Backner understood, Well, the
• 6:29
issue is whether there was knowledge or not, which she
• 6:32
doesn't have. Timmins correct tol In question, So why was
• 6:37
this individual sending you images of other women? Answer? I
• 6:41
don't know? Question did you ask for the photos? Answer? No? Question,
• 6:44
did mister Epstein ask for the photo? Answer? I don't know.
• 6:48
Question where you will wear that? This is? This is
• 6:50
a nude photo? Do you recall. Answer No, Brignac, Why
• 6:54
would he need a photograph in order to recruit an assistant? Graff.
• 6:58
I don't know that this was to get a traveling assistant.
• 7:01
I said it's possible that it was. He was always
• 7:04
wanting to find better and I don't know what it
• 7:06
was for. I also know that he was very, very
• 7:08
connected to the modeling world. He was in business with
• 7:11
Jean Luke Brunel as well as other agencies. Brigniak. This
• 7:15
is in twenty twelve, after he cut ties with Les Wexner,
• 7:18
So I don't think you would have thought this was
• 7:21
for a modeling position. What did you mean by your
• 7:23
winki face, Miss Groff. That's not my winki face, it's
• 7:26
whoever sent the email, Miss Tolan. And do you know
• 7:30
how this individual was in the photo? Answer? I do
• 7:33
not question. What did you do with this image? After
• 7:37
answer I probably forwarded to mister Epstein? Question and did
• 7:41
this happen on multiple occasions? How often were you receiving
• 7:44
images of women to give to mister Epstein? Answer not often,
• 7:48
Miss Tolan. I'll now introduce majority exhibit number three. This
• 7:52
is another email chain dated May first, twenty twelve between
• 7:56
Miss Groff and another redacted email address with the subject
• 8:00
Jeffrey Epstein. The Bates number is EFTA zero one eight
• 8:04
eight four seven eight nine. I'll give you a moment
• 8:07
to review this one as well. Backner, Okay, Tolan, I'll
• 8:11
direct your attention to the bottom of the page one,
• 8:13
where the email reads dear Leslie, just wanted to make
• 8:16
sure you got the new photo let me know please,
• 8:19
to which you appear to respond that you have not
• 8:21
received any new photos, and the email address, which is redacted,
• 8:26
says they'll try to send the email again. Then the
• 8:28
following email near the top of the page reads, Darling,
• 8:31
here's the picture of a new girl redacted. She's twenty one,
• 8:35
very sweet and lovely. Let me know you received them please.
• 8:38
I took them from her portfolio, so maybe the quality
• 8:41
is not so good, but I think you can still
• 8:44
see everything with a winkie face. Miss Groff, Are you
• 8:47
familiar with this email? Answer? I am not. Since we've
• 8:50
been getting ready to see you, I've seen this email.
• 8:52
To me, I sound it sounds like she's a model.
• 8:55
Question and what was the purpose of these images to
• 8:58
send them? Mister Epstein answer? I would think so, yes, Brignak.
• 9:03
Why would you be sending modeling photos to mister Epstein?
• 9:06
Answer because he had a business relationship with Jean Luke
• 9:08
Brunel and Kate's faith with Next Modeling, and he knew
• 9:12
lots and lots of models Naomi Campbell, Petro Nokiva, Tatiana Stepanova,
• 9:17
famous models. It made sense to me that he'd be
• 9:20
helping coordinate models. Question did you ever see these women
• 9:23
receive job offers or modeling contracts? Answer? I don't recall.
• 9:28
That was not something that was discussed with him. Question
• 9:31
did you have any concerns with sending him these photos
• 9:34
after he was arrested in charge in and indicted for
• 9:37
soliciting prostitution of minors? Answer no, Mis Tolan, and all
• 9:41
of the images that are attached to have facial redactions. However,
• 9:44
the image on what should be page seven, the second
• 9:47
to last, the very last physical image, second to last image,
• 9:51
is clearly a full body redaction. Is it because the
• 9:54
woman was nude in this photo? Answer? I don't know.
• 9:57
  I don't remember the photo, but I don't believe I
• 9:59
ever saw nude photos. Question did you ever the email
• 10:03
states that she was twenty one? Did you ever verify
• 10:05
the age of the individual. Answer, I don't know. Question
• 10:09
and did you forward these images to Jeffrey Epstein? Answer?
• 10:13
I would think I did it, says to Jeffrey Epstein,
• 10:16
Brignac Mims Groff. Have you ever served or sponsored a
• 10:19
foreign woman for a girl's visa? Groff? No, Brignac, I'm
• 10:25
going to enter majority Exhibit four, which is EFTA zero
• 10:28
two zero six two five. Excuse me, zero two zero
• 10:32
six two nine five to one. This is an email
• 10:35
from you to AMEX Centurion Travel, dated January fourteenth, twenty sixteen,
• 10:41
Miss Brignac. The email reads, Natasha, we need to find
• 10:44
the flight that departs Roam and goes to London on
• 10:46
the twenty ninth four redacted. This flight should depart around
• 10:49
the same time the flight we're holding for redacted rome
• 10:53
to Miami. No return flight for this flight. This is
• 10:56
a decoy flight. She will not really take it, but
• 10:59
she needs to show it on the itinerary for this flight.
• 11:02
Can you put something together for me? I'm going to
• 11:05
give you a moment to review this, Miss Bakner, could
• 11:08
he have just one second? Goes off the record now
• 11:10
they're back Backner? Were ready, Miss Brignac. Question, what's a
• 11:14
decoy flight? Answer? It means she's not going to take
• 11:17
the flight. Question did you regularly engage in requesting decoy
• 11:21
flights for securing visas? Answer? No question. How many times
• 11:26
have you engaged in this practice? Mister Backner, with all
• 11:29
due respect, there's no indication it was to obtain a visa. Brignac, Okay,
• 11:34
how many times did you engage in the practice of
• 11:36
registering decoy flights? Miss Groff? This is the only decoy
• 11:40
flight that I recall, and the only reason I recall
• 11:43
it is because while getting ready for to come speak
• 11:45
with y'all voluntarily, I saw this email along with others
• 11:48
about the trip Miss Tolan. You said it was a
• 11:51
decoy flight because she wasn't going She was not going
• 11:54
to take it. Why Graff? Right? So this person, the
• 11:57
woman wanted to take a flight to mister Epstein. She
• 12:00
did not want to tell her parents that she was
• 12:02
going to take this flight. She wanted to keep the
• 12:04
flight that was taking her in London and to have
• 12:07
a different flight though, take her really to see mister Epstein.
• 12:10
I don't know why she didn't want to tell her parents,
• 12:12
but this was not for a visa, Miss Brignac. I'm
• 12:15
entering majority of Exhibit five into the record, which is
• 12:18
marked EFTA zero zero five zero one six two to
• 12:21
two through EFTA zero zero five zero one six two five,
• 12:26
Miss Brignac. These emails are between you and redacted, an
• 12:30
executive travel counselor, about paying for flights for a hotel
• 12:34
for a woman with her visa, dated December seventeenth and eighteenth,
• 12:38
twenty twelve. I'll give you a moment to review. Question
• 12:41
who was redacted? Answer? She was the MX Centurion rep.
• 12:46
Question how did you meet her? Answer? I never met
• 12:48
her in person. She was somebody that I was told
• 12:51
was going to be our rep. Answer by who? Or
• 12:54
question by who? Answer? It was a long time ago.
• 12:57
I don't know how she came to be the rep.
• 12:59
Questioned mister Epstein introduce you to her? Answer? I don't
• 13:02
think he introduced me to her. I'm sure he may
• 13:04
have just called one day and said that she was
• 13:06
now going to be our reb. I really don't recall
• 13:09
how it happened. Question how many people at AMEX did
• 13:12
you deal with? Answer? I dealt with her mostly, But
• 13:15
if she was on vacation or sick or something someone
• 13:18
else would take her spot. Question In this exhibit, you
• 13:21
send an email that states redacted has an interview with
• 13:24
the Consulate at ten thirty. She needs proof of a
• 13:26
hotel stay and air for this meeting. If any way
• 13:30
you can do faster, would really appreciate it. What was
• 13:33
the reason for this individual's travel answer? I don't know.
• 13:37
I think that this was an assistant of mister Epstein
• 13:39
that wanted to get her visa. Question, and you assisted
• 13:42
in facilitating that visa answer. The only thing I facilitated
• 13:46
was getting her a ticket and a hotel room reservation.
• 13:48
That was it. Question? But we can agree that she
• 13:52
needed that ticket and hotel reservation in order to secure
• 13:55
a visa. Answer. I was directed to please purchase it
• 13:58
for her. What were you told was the purpose of
• 14:02
the women's travel? Answer? I don't think I was told.
• 14:05
It looks to me like she needed to get a
• 14:06
visa and she was requesting it, and that's it. I
• 14:10
was asked to get her a ticket. I was dealing
• 14:12
with amexenturion. That's it. Question Is this an example of
• 14:15
a decoy flight? Answer? No question. Why did you ask
• 14:19
if it would be fully refundable? Answer? I don't recall
• 14:22
maybe I was asked to ask if it would be
• 14:24
fully refundable. Answer who paid for the travel? Answer? I
• 14:27
don't know. Question who paid for a visa application? Answer?
• 14:31
I don't know. Question did these women meet with mister
• 14:34
Epstein upon their arrival to the US? Answer? I don't know.
• 14:38
I'm not positive who this even is. I believe it
• 14:41
was a traveling assistant, but I don't know. Question did
• 14:44
you facilitate lodging for any of the women who entered
• 14:46
the US on a visa? Answer it's possible that I
• 14:49
was directed to provide them an apartment or a hotel room.
• 14:53
Question were any of these women scheduled to give massages? Answer?
• 14:57
I don't know. Question was this woman ever identified as
• 15:01
a victim of mister Epstein? Answer? I don't know who
• 15:04
this is. It's redacted. Sorry. Question were any of these
• 15:09
women that you work with to secure a visa identified
• 15:11
as a victim of mister Epstein? Answer? I believe is
• 15:14
traveling assistance for all victims? Now? Yeah? Question who else
• 15:19
did you facilitate housing for? Answer? I didn't facilitate housing.
• 15:22
If I was directed and asked to set aside an apartment,
• 15:25
I would do that, all right? Folks, we're gonna wrap
• 15:29
up right here and to the next episode. We're going
• 15:31
to pick up where we left off. All the information
• 15:33
that goes with this episode can be found in the
• 15:36
  description box.
