- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey go, I'm Shannon. This is today.
- 0:02Speaker 2: We're from Hate Said we're about to release the new
- 0:06Speaker 2: single Heartbreaker, the first single we've actually released that's brand
- 0:10Speaker 2: new since twenty twenty two, the whole new lineup. So
- 0:13Speaker 2: it's pretty exciting. So we're happy with it. Hope everybody else.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Is very good.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Thanks for joining us tonight, Thank thanks for having us.
- 0:22Speaker 4: No way, So I hope I got this right. But
- 0:24Speaker 4: you released the audio back on July the fourth and
- 0:27Speaker 4: the video this Friday to.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Rive the labornth Is that correct?
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yes?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Yep. So how'd you go with the audio so far?
- 0:33Speaker 3: Good reception?
- 0:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been great. Everybody's loving it, loving our biggot.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Sounding and how different we're going, and it's saying it's
- 0:42Speaker 2: got a difference down now.
- 0:43Speaker 5: So yeah, I think it kind of showcases how much
- 0:46Speaker 5: we've really evolved as a band and how we've sort
- 0:49Speaker 5: of just got this whole new era now that we've
- 0:51Speaker 5: got Hannah. We've definitely got a heavier, more full of
- 0:54Speaker 5: sound too, and it's really showcased in this single as well.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Yeah, can you dive into heartbreaking them from musical point
- 1:01Speaker 4: of view and what you were learned for with it?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:04Speaker 6: So heartbreak. I guess what we were trying.
- 1:06Speaker 5: To go for was more about how the heartbreak and
- 1:09Speaker 5: sort of lead you into a reinvention of yourself. So
- 1:12Speaker 5: it's not necessarily about going through a certain grief, but
- 1:15Speaker 5: if you are, you can kind of find a way
- 1:17Speaker 5: to kind of take that and yeah, I guess sort
- 1:20Speaker 5: of reinvent.
- 1:20Speaker 6: And that's what we.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Were trying to trying to do with the whole concept
- 1:24Speaker 5: and the idea, rather than just doing the whole typical
- 1:27Speaker 5: heartbreak and the guy walks into the bar and we
- 1:30Speaker 5: wanted to fear away from that. We had a complete
- 1:31Speaker 5: different take with with what we wanted to represent as
- 1:35Speaker 5: a heartbreak give too much work. Yeah, I said that
- 1:40Speaker 5: there's not you know, it's not your typical to expect.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Is what I'm saying.
- 1:43Speaker 5: I think it's going to be very it's very different,
- 1:46Speaker 5: so people yet they're not going to know what to expect.
- 1:49Speaker 4: It's a pretty interesting idea to release the audio and
- 1:52Speaker 4: one week and then the video of the week after.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So what was the thought process behind that.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think in this day and age, you've got to
- 2:00Speaker 2: use every bit of media or sound or footage or
- 2:05Speaker 2: whatever you've got as a separate entity because it's all
- 2:09Speaker 2: about social networking these days and getting your image out
- 2:13Speaker 2: there to grow your fan base.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And if you put everything out on one day, then
- 2:18Speaker 1: what do you do the.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Next day, the next day. So we just like to
- 2:21Speaker 2: spread everything else and that's why we're going to keep
- 2:23Speaker 2: releasing singles for the next probably twelve months, very regularly.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I think.
- 2:30Speaker 4: It's a good idea too, because you say, like when
- 2:31Speaker 4: you release it, people spend so much time on music
- 2:34Speaker 4: videos these days. When they come out, they're spectacular, but
- 2:37Speaker 4: people pay more attention to that. Like if you release
- 2:39Speaker 4: the audio first, people get to know the song a
- 2:41Speaker 4: bit better, and then you watch the video to go
- 2:43Speaker 4: with it, and it's sort of it's like two separate entities,
- 2:45Speaker 4: even though it's a wonderful.
- 2:47Speaker 6: And it creates more of a vision two as well.
- 2:49Speaker 5: I think when you just sort of hear the audio,
- 2:51Speaker 5: you can leave it a bit more sort of open interpretation,
- 2:54Speaker 5: and then when you see the audio and the vision
- 2:56Speaker 5: and the visuals, it tells the whole story, so you
- 2:59Speaker 5: understand the words, the meaning, the music, and yeah, you
- 3:03Speaker 5: get more of an understanding.
- 3:05Speaker 2: And working with Tony was just amazing, It just incredible
- 3:08Speaker 2: he just brought it to the next Lep took our
- 3:10Speaker 2: ideas and just made it different better so well Toay's
- 3:13Speaker 2: idea and Mel's idea actually not mine, but yeah, but
- 3:16Speaker 2: it just became amazing.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Tony Max was yeah, great, and it's going to be
- 3:19Speaker 1: working on it with us on the next one too.
- 3:21Speaker 3: So what doubt nice anyone video? What time is the
- 3:26Speaker 3: drop on Friday?
- 3:28Speaker 2: I think it comes out first thing in the morning,
- 3:30Speaker 2: so when you wake up, we can first play.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope I'm right with that. I'm pretty sure
- 3:34Speaker 1: that's what I did.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Heartbreak into your First Thing on a Friday morning.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 4: I read a quote from the band that said, this
- 3:43Speaker 4: is one of your most honest and explosive songs to day.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Did you elaborate on that for us?
- 3:48Speaker 2: Well, it's what the band that we've got together now
- 3:52Speaker 2: is completely different to where we came from. We've got
- 3:55Speaker 2: a much biggest down and the song shows it too,
- 3:59Speaker 2: and the way we playing together, it's just we're just
- 4:01Speaker 2: so happy has come out. We've spent a lot of
- 4:04Speaker 2: time on it too, so it's songs really grown and
- 4:07Speaker 2: once Today put a vocals on there, there was just
- 4:11Speaker 2: the next level and we just knew we had something.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Even Raster was just like, this is great. So yeah
- 4:17Speaker 2: it was, and we're all very happy to finally get
- 4:19Speaker 2: it out there. I think today.
- 4:21Speaker 1: First did the vocals eighteen months ago, now twelve months ago. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:25Speaker 1: I did. Ye first take was done a year ago.
- 4:28Speaker 6: I've been hanging on to this one for a really
- 4:30Speaker 6: long time.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Pretty much pretty much when she joined the band the
- 4:34Speaker 2: next week, she was in the studio recording vocals.
- 4:38Speaker 4: You've mentioned a couple of times a different sound for
- 4:40Speaker 4: the band, So can you have for people to have
- 4:42Speaker 4: been with you for a while, can you tell us
- 4:44Speaker 4: a bit more about that, Like what's what's different?
- 4:47Speaker 6: More attitude, We're heavier.
- 4:49Speaker 5: I think we're sort of more instinct as well, Like
- 4:51Speaker 5: you can see our dynamic on stage.
- 4:53Speaker 6: You can see that we're all. Yeah, we're all very.
- 4:56Speaker 7: Interrue and we perform then having fun. Yeah, absolute, we
- 5:00Speaker 7: like each other. Yeah, we like the little family.
- 5:06Speaker 1: So that's good.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yeah, nice. Nice Back to Heartbreaker.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Is it a standalone single for you guys or is
- 5:12Speaker 4: it part of a big album or EP picture.
- 5:15Speaker 1: All?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Like I said before, we're just going to keep releasing singles,
- 5:18Speaker 2: so we're due to do another one. By the end
- 5:21Speaker 2: of the year, and then three months after that we'll
- 5:23Speaker 2: do another one. So hopefully every three months you'll see
- 5:26Speaker 2: something from HD for the next twelve months very regularly,
- 5:30Speaker 2: so film.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Clips to go with as well.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So yeah, it's all having and then maybe at the
- 5:34Speaker 2: very end we might drop an album.
- 5:36Speaker 1: People want to.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll see what a bad idea these days because
- 5:39Speaker 4: people's attention spans are getting less and less, So you
- 5:41Speaker 4: put a full album out and not many people actually
- 5:44Speaker 4: sit and listen to a whole album, but you've reacent
- 5:45Speaker 4: by singles or a couple of the time, you find
- 5:48Speaker 4: you get to reach a bigger audience and you please
- 5:50Speaker 4: more people.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I think, Yeah, not the idea by that, that's.
- 5:54Speaker 2: The idea where that's the way we're sort of heading.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Been working with me well, has been doing a lot
- 5:59Speaker 2: of us social media now so and she's sort of
- 6:03Speaker 2: helping us with all the how to relate with the
- 6:06Speaker 2: timings and that kind of stuff.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So it's really good. We've got a good team in
- 6:09Speaker 1: the background now working with us.
- 6:10Speaker 2: It's not just the band anymore, so we've got a
- 6:12Speaker 2: fair few people helping.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Us out on stage and off stage and in the background.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So it's there. It's really good.
- 6:18Speaker 6: We have a very good team. We're very lucky.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Yet oh just mentioned the new direction, of course, and
- 6:24Speaker 4: the fact you're going to be released the singles every
- 6:25Speaker 4: three months, so it's heartbreaking.
- 6:27Speaker 3: A good sodic representation of the way forward.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yes, for the next couple, and then you'll see the
- 6:35Speaker 2: brand new stuff.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Well, the next one will be in a similar vein.
- 6:40Speaker 2: But then what we do next year, just yeah, it's
- 6:43Speaker 2: going to be this is mine and today's brains put together.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Is something completely different and you yet again, it sounds
- 6:53Speaker 5: like hates there, but it's just gonna fresh.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Und I'm actually going to jump in there to say that,
- 7:00Speaker 4: like fans of the old band or your old sound
- 7:03Speaker 4: listen to this. They'll still appreciate your direction moving forward,
- 7:06Speaker 4: you're not gonna steer too far away from what they expect.
- 7:09Speaker 1: No, no, we're not going We're not going crazy away.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It's just yeah, I guess a bit more melodic will
- 7:15Speaker 2: be the moon that's still heavy.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Search and three social media earlier, I saw something about
- 7:20Speaker 4: a h said comic book coming, like is that for
- 7:23Speaker 4: real or is it?
- 7:23Speaker 2: N I was wondering what people would say about that.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I think that was just it just I don't know,
- 7:31Speaker 2: a little bit of a joke or that's.
- 7:33Speaker 4: What I took it too. But I thought i'd bring
- 7:35Speaker 4: it up in case it was for real, because that
- 7:37Speaker 4: could that could go in a lot of interesting direction
- 7:39Speaker 4: or something like that.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Well, they've just done one, so they're doing a great
- 7:42Speaker 2: job with that. And if you've seen and as one,
- 7:45Speaker 2: it's amazing.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Check it out.
- 7:47Speaker 2: It's a lot of my hands yet, but I've seen
- 7:50Speaker 2: that looks pretty cool.
- 7:51Speaker 3: There'd be a lot of extra work though.
- 7:52Speaker 4: They're doing the music side one thing, but branching out
- 7:54Speaker 4: into drawing and comics and stuff and just be a
- 7:56Speaker 4: pain in the arts.
- 7:57Speaker 3: You're worth it, but to be a pain in the ass.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I don't have enough time comics from us. We're going
- 8:07Speaker 2: to stick to the music in the videos. Maybe might
- 8:10Speaker 2: do a movie or something.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Now you're to come in to us tonight from Scotty's
- 8:18Speaker 4: Bar and Seaford, which is one of the best bars
- 8:20Speaker 4: in Balven by the way, can we say but you
- 8:22Speaker 4: hit the road for a few shows soon, starting at
- 8:24Speaker 4: scott He's on the twelfth of July. Then you take
- 8:26Speaker 4: in to Kill Her on the first of August and
- 8:27Speaker 4: Geelong on the sixteenth of August.
- 8:29Speaker 3: So what can punners expect from those shows?
- 8:34Speaker 1: Do you want to share the Well.
- 8:38Speaker 6: No, well I was just going to say what I
- 8:40Speaker 6: don't want to give to you.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Well, we might have some special songs that we might
- 8:46Speaker 5: just put in there, some new surprises. See what people
- 8:49Speaker 5: people think. So we've definitely got something. It's a complete
- 8:54Speaker 5: different set as well. We're doing something very special for
- 8:56Speaker 5: the single launch. So it will definitely be a worry
- 9:00Speaker 5: that I hope people want to come to.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So so they'll get the taste the news. I think
- 9:05Speaker 1: they come along.
- 9:06Speaker 6: They will.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the special new ones. They're going to be originals.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Are they going to be covers originals?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Originals?
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yeah, some of the new singles to come.
- 9:14Speaker 4: I'm going to push here any further because you don't
- 9:16Speaker 4: seem like you want to talk about that too much.
- 9:18Speaker 3: If you want to find out.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Exactly, Yes, that's the point.
- 9:24Speaker 4: You're going to be telling some limited editions. See these
- 9:26Speaker 4: have the shows as well.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yes, we've got fifty copies only sorry, just off the single.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Of the single, correct yep.
- 9:35Speaker 2: So we'll have them at the shows for people to
- 9:38Speaker 2: buy if they would like to buy, and and if
- 9:40Speaker 2: they want the band to sign it, we can sign
- 9:41Speaker 2: that too, but we'll only only be selling them at
- 9:43Speaker 2: the shows.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Request to get it?
- 9:46Speaker 4: Where can people find out more about HVN and watches
- 9:49Speaker 4: are up to you and what you're playing?
- 9:51Speaker 2: You can just follow us on all the normal socials Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, streaming.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Yeah, we're on all stream services as well, so any
- 10:01Speaker 5: platform that you have will be on there.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Very nice.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Now I've got a new segment I've introduced that you
- 10:07Speaker 4: guys might be happy with, you might not be, But
- 10:09Speaker 4: it's a photo bomb. So basically, I've trod through social
- 10:12Speaker 4: media before you've had a chat, and I picked some
- 10:14Speaker 4: photos that I think people need to know a little
- 10:16Speaker 4: bit more about. The first one I've come across is
- 10:20Speaker 4: this one that that legendary Warwick Tappa Ah, Yes it is.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yes, he's a very good friend of ours.
- 10:27Speaker 6: Yes, he got up and he had to sing that
- 10:30Speaker 6: night too as well.
- 10:31Speaker 5: And I must say he definitely has a good voice,
- 10:33Speaker 5: so it's probably trying to show me how to do it, I.
- 10:36Speaker 6: Reckon in that photo, No he was.
- 10:39Speaker 5: He was really lovely, but in that photo I think
- 10:42Speaker 5: he was just taking a moment to kind of thank you,
- 10:44Speaker 5: well just yeah, thank everybody. So it was Yeah, he
- 10:47Speaker 5: was really lovely and so sweet and he was so
- 10:48Speaker 5: supportive of us too. As soon as he found out
- 10:51Speaker 5: we had our show, he came down and he brought
- 10:53Speaker 5: some friends and yeah, that's that's the photo.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Most people think tight shorts and red ball when they
- 11:00Speaker 4: hear the name Mauric Kabba, But I know a lot
- 11:02Speaker 4: of people who know him in the music scene and
- 11:03Speaker 4: he's a very big supporter of music as well.
- 11:06Speaker 1: He without a doubt, he's just such a nice guy.
- 11:09Speaker 2: People get him wrong because he's got a character that's
- 11:11Speaker 2: made him, you know, giving him a something to do
- 11:15Speaker 2: after football and that's his career and people someone's taking
- 11:19Speaker 2: his jokes a bit out of character. But he's such
- 11:21Speaker 2: a nice guy, so supportive. He just wants the music
- 11:24Speaker 2: Melbourne music scene to be massive and he's just pushing
- 11:26Speaker 2: it from every cornery can. We've become really close friends
- 11:29Speaker 2: with him too, and he's just such a lovely guy
- 11:32Speaker 2: to spend time with.
- 11:34Speaker 4: And while we're looking at photos of h ten and celebrities,
- 11:37Speaker 4: what's the band doing hanging out with display here?
- 11:43Speaker 1: Which one quight in the middle.
- 11:46Speaker 2: That was at the show, well, the show at the
- 11:50Speaker 2: Cherry Bar we did with him that night. That's beautiful given.
- 11:57Speaker 1: That night too, pretty much.
- 11:59Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, that was a good show. That was probably yah.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Yeah, really good crowd. Yeah, and there were.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Some really good bands as well performing there.
- 12:07Speaker 2: There's a Kingdom amazing that you'll see Desert Kingdom play
- 12:10Speaker 2: with us in Geelong too. They're a great band and
- 12:14Speaker 2: we are planning to go to Brisbane too, So thanks
- 12:17Speaker 2: very much.
- 12:18Speaker 4: For the time of the song Heartbreaker is out now,
- 12:20Speaker 4: the music video drops his Friday, first thing in the
- 12:22Speaker 4: morning and the first of three shows happens that Scott
- 12:25Speaker 4: is just Saturday night, so there's plenty happening to Guy's
- 12:27Speaker 4: best to luck with it all and we'll see you soon.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Thank you so much for your time, Chris,
