- 1:41happy to have him. Ladies and gentlemen, we really
- 1:43are. We are now talking to a long
- 1:45time New York Post baseball writer.
- 1:48He has a book out called One O 1 Lessons from the Dugout.
- 1:52Ken Davidoff. Ken, what's up, bud?
- 1:56How are you guys? Thanks for having me.
- 1:58Well, thank you for even coming on.
- 1:59I mean, you're a very high profile guy, You're a writer,
- 2:03you're doing some great things. We know you, everybody knows
- 2:06you. You're a baseball guy.
- 2:07So just happy for you to join us.
- 2:09And and before we get into the major leagues, I I want to know
- 2:13your opinion right now with Trevor Power, because I I've
- 2:17been all summer and and summer hasn't even started.
- 2:20OK, I'm sorry Spring. I've been just getting a chance
- 2:24to get to know the guy. I've been to 2 Long Island Duck
- 2:28games. He's pitched in one of them.
- 2:30I got a chance to see his signing and and he was at his
- 2:34media day. So he he's been a very unique
- 2:36personality. He's come out and he's he's said
- 2:39some interesting things. I I think he's here really to
- 2:43play in front of the American people.
- 2:45He's been all over the place for five years.
- 2:47He's been to Japan, he's been to Mexico, but he's just happy to
- 2:50be back in the United States pitching in front of the fans.
- 2:54What do you think of what he is doing right now?
- 2:57I know it's with the Ducks, but it's pretty impressive what he's
- 3:00doing right now. Yeah, I mean, I honestly, I
- 3:04didn't know what he was doing until I was in your waiting room
- 3:07listening to you detail his accomplishment.
- 3:10So yeah, he's he's an excellent pitcher, no doubt.
- 3:13It's, it's crazy because I, I've seen so many crazy people in my
- 3:18past watching baseball, been a huge Don Mattingly fan watching
- 3:21the Yankees growing up and watching teams just fail to win
- 3:26all the way until the 90s and then the Yankees dominated.
- 3:28This is the team of the, you know, team of the decade.
- 3:31And, and what they did was just absolutely amazing.
- 3:34And you look at those Yankee teams and everybody tries to
- 3:37compare what decade of the Yankees was most dominant?
- 3:41When you look at from the 90s, from 96 on, do you think that
- 3:45team and that that run was the most dominant the Yankees have
- 3:49ever had? I mean, technically, no, you'd
- 3:53have to go back to the 30s, right?
- 3:54The Yankees won, what, 5 World Series in the 30s?
- 3:58Only 1932 and 36 to 39 and then and then the 50s, what, 50 to
- 4:025356 and 58. So that was 6.
- 4:06So yeah, you have to go back and look at that.
- 4:08But I covered the 90s Yankees and they were spectacular and
- 4:12historic. A lot of people say the 98
- 4:14Yankees were the greatest Yankee team.
- 4:15If you look at the record, you look at the dominance.
- 4:18I know they played Ken Caminiti and the Padres in the world and
- 4:21that wasn't much of anything but that run with Paul O'Neill and
- 4:25Tino Martinez and Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter and all
- 4:29and that, that great pitching staff with David Wells and and
- 4:32Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte. When you look at those teams, I
- 4:35mean, I, it's hard to say. There are so many Hall of
- 4:38farmers on that roster. And I I'm sorry, I forgot
- 4:41Mariano Rivera. Pretty great player too.
- 4:43Yeah, I think there's a strong case we made for that.
- 4:45It probably either them or the 27 Yankees with Babe Ruth and
- 4:49Lou Guerra. Again, I had the privilege of
- 4:51covering that team. They were just an amazing team
- 4:53that was greater than the sum of their parts and just really had
- 4:57an incredible toughness and resilience to them.
- 5:00So I want to try this into your book.
- 5:02I know obviously David Wright was mentioned in the forward in
- 5:05that your new book you co-author for 101 lessons in the dugout.
- 5:10What baseball and softball could teach you about the game of
- 5:12life. By the way, you can get that
- 5:13available on Amazon now. So what was it like working with
- 5:17David Wright and a lot of his X Mets teammates?
- 5:22What do you mean with his X Mets teammates?
- 5:24I. Don't know if you had any
- 5:25connections with that in the book, being that David Wright
- 5:28was the forwarder. David Wright wrote the forward
- 5:33for the book. Yeah.
- 5:34And I love David Wright. He's a tremendous human being
- 5:38and he's a perfect person to write the foreword for this
- 5:42book. He's a a dad who coaches his own
- 5:46kids and coaches other kids out in Southern California.
- 5:48So he really was on board for, you know what, what we were
- 5:54trying to do with this book even before he knew about the book.
- 5:58We are talking to long time New York Post baseball writer Ken
- 6:00Davidoff. He also is the co-author of the
- 6:03book One O 1 Lessons from the Dugout.
- 6:06Your I, I'm sure your opinion of watching baseball and and right
- 6:10now the New York Mets. What are the Mets doing?
- 6:12Like is there something going on behind the scenes that is not
- 6:16working on the field? Because there is no answer to
- 6:19why this team is so bad right now.
- 6:21And, and to me, Mendoza still has a job and David Sternstill
- 6:25has a job. I, I, I don't get it.
- 6:27I don't why is this team playing such a good, bad baseball right
- 6:29now? Well, I, I, I don't, you know, I
- 6:34don't cover the sport full time anymore, but I'm certainly, I
- 6:36certainly pay attention. And yeah, look, I think it's
- 6:40been documented about the clubhouse issues.
- 6:42And I, I think, you know, Lundor and Soto are obviously the two
- 6:46dominant people in that clubhouse and they are such
- 6:49different human beings. And I think that's a real factor
- 6:53in terms of the, there's just obviously some chemistry issues
- 6:57there. But you know, beyond that you
- 6:59have the new guys coming in who have really faltered, right,
- 7:02Bichette and Semi in particular, and Peralta has been okay.
- 7:06Devin Williams has not been good.
- 7:08So that whether those are a byproduct of the chemistry that
- 7:12that seems like a a stretch, but I do think the chemistry can be
- 7:15a factor. Kenny, you look at baseball and
- 7:18unlike you, you write, you write books and you've been around
- 7:20baseball for such a long time. Is there a particular player
- 7:23that really stands out to you with the personality and the
- 7:26talent over the years that you would like to write about in the
- 7:30future? That's an interesting question.
- 7:35Wow, that's you. You got me with that one.
- 7:38I mean, there, there are many, many players I really enjoyed
- 7:41covering and and getting to know.
- 7:44But in terms of writing about in the future, I mean, the one guy
- 7:49whose case fascinates me is is Rodger Clement, because I I
- 7:53voted for Rodger for the Hall of Fame all 10 years.
- 7:56I covered his trial actually in DC the you know, he was indicted
- 8:02for lying underoath to Congress. I just think he's a fascinating
- 8:06guy and and I also got to cover him for his Yankees years, so.
- 8:11Let's talk about some of the other Hall of Fame cases that
- 8:13have been a controversial recently.
- 8:14Finally saw Jeff Kent get in after a while and obviously
- 8:17these other steroid era guys over the years have been kept
- 8:20out. What are your overall thoughts
- 8:21to the process of doing that in a sport controversy that's let
- 8:24other people in that have done amphetamines?
- 8:26Obviously a Ty Cobb that was accused of the stuff he was
- 8:29accused of in the 30s and he got in as one of the first guys.
- 8:32So what are your thoughts of the overall process?
- 8:36Well, I think the overall process is sound.
- 8:38I, I disagree with some of the results.
- 8:39You know, I voted for Clemens and Bonds all 10 years and, and
- 8:44for I, I vote for a Rod, I vote for Mano Ramirez.
- 8:47I'd, I'd like to see all of them.
- 8:48I think the process is sound. I think it's good that the
- 8:51threshold is so high to get into the 75% threshold you mentioned
- 8:54in Jeff Kent. He was an interesting case, but
- 8:57I like that there's, you know, first you go through the writers
- 8:59ballot for 10 years and then if you don't get that, then you go
- 9:02on these other committee ballots.
- 9:04You kind of generically called the veterans committee.
- 9:07And I'm happy. It's like a check and balance
- 9:09process. I'm I'm happy for Jeff Kent that
- 9:10he got in. Now, I've watched baseball a
- 9:14long, long time and we we go insurance and the outs of who
- 9:17should stand out from all the rest.
- 9:19And and there are a lot of great Yankees.
- 9:21There are a lot of great Mets. And I remember the Mets in 1986.
- 9:25I was four years old when the Mets won a World Series.
- 9:27I was, I, I didn't even know how to walk really.
- 9:31I mean, I was a late bloomer guy.
- 9:32Yeah, I was a late bloomer. I skated.
- 9:35So Kenny, I I skated at five years old.
- 9:39So I was a fairly great skater before I could actually run.
- 9:42All right, So for anybody to know this, this is this is a
- 9:45true story. So The thing is, is when you
- 9:49look at though that Mets team in 1986, the Mets have not won a
- 9:51World Series since then. I mean it, it reminds me of The
- 9:54Jets. I wasn't even alive to see 1969
- 9:56when Joe Namath predicted that they were going to win the game
- 9:59and and pretty much called it out.
- 10:01And they haven't seen a Super Bowl since then.
- 10:04When you look at that Mets team, Daryl Strawberry, who I met and
- 10:08I've had conversations with him, Doc Gooden, I've hosted events
- 10:11with Doc Gooden and I've met many different.
- 10:14Keith Hernandez, I met all these guys.
- 10:17Ron Darling, when you look at that team, do you see that team?
- 10:20If if that team was kept together, do you think that team
- 10:24wins multiple championships and how many do you think they win?
- 10:29Well, gosh, that's an interesting question.
- 10:33I mean, they were largely kept together, unless you're talking
- 10:36about like Kevin Mitchell and Ray Knights and some other guys.
- 10:40But you know, what's, to me, what's interesting is if there
- 10:43was the current playoff structure in place, you know,
- 10:45they would have gotten in probably all those years, you
- 10:48know, into 8087 for sure. 89 maybe and so and and 84 and 85
- 10:56for that matter. So, you know, in that format
- 10:59with the pitching they had, could they have won multiple
- 11:02championships? And I think the answer is yes,
- 11:04quite likely. Ken, you look at baseball and
- 11:07these new rules and I'm telling you these rules are really
- 11:11starting to get me my head shaking.
- 11:13I I the pitch clock, the bases are bigger, the first base is
- 11:17closer to second base. You see more stolen bases.
- 11:20You have Otani breaking records because of it, and everybody's
- 11:24sitting here. Oh, Tommy's the greatest player
- 11:26if I've ever seen. He's a Unicorn.
- 11:27Oh my God, he's amazing. He's better than Babe Ruth,
- 11:30honestly. When and I you weren't alive for
- 11:32Babe Ruth, When you look at stats and what Babe Ruth did in
- 11:35a time where ballparks were bigger, I, I mean, bats were
- 11:39heavier, balls weren't juiced. Could you compare Shay Ohtani to
- 11:44Babe Ruth? Let's be honest.
- 11:45Absolutely you can, but I I mean, what are you a man of
- 11:48nuances, Sir? No, I'm not.
- 11:54I appreciate your honesty, but you know, the bottom line is
- 11:58that Babe kind of lost. The more Babe hit, the more he
- 12:01lost interest in pitching. If we're going to say who was
- 12:04the better hitter, the Babe or or Shohei Otani, the answer is
- 12:08clearly the Babe. But if you're talking about who
- 12:11was a better all around player, who was, who was more valuable?
- 12:14I think there's a strong case to be made for Otani because Otani
- 12:17is embracing this dual role in a way that the Babe never did.
- 12:23So what are your thoughts? I know the end of your career,
- 12:25you're covering a lot of the new rule changes post the lockout,
- 12:29post the Covic era, obviously the National League getting the
- 12:32DH after years of them resisting it for a while.
- 12:36What are your thoughts to a lot of these rules that Rob Manford
- 12:39has decided to create? Well, I think that the pitch
- 12:42clock has saved, saved at least met Rob Manfred's job and might
- 12:46have saved the whole darn sport. I, I love the pitch clock.
- 12:49And I say had that been in place earlier, I might have stuck
- 12:52around a little longer covering the games.
- 12:56You know, the, I like the shift personally.
- 12:58I, I, you know, they, they used it on Ted Williams back in the
- 13:02night. I wasn't alive for that either.
- 13:03You, you might be shot, though. And I wasn't born yet for The
- 13:05Jets Super Bowl win. So I, I sound old because I'm so
- 13:10cranky, but I'm not that old. So anyway, yeah, I, I like a lot
- 13:15of the channel. I love the the ABS.
- 13:17I just think it's added some drama and obviously some some
- 13:20accuracy. We are talking to long time New
- 13:23York Post baseball writer Ken Davidoff.
- 13:25He also is the co-author of One O 1 Lessons from the Dugout.
- 13:30You know, I, I sit here today, I'm a huge baseball fan and I, I
- 13:35wonder where baseball is going and, and a lot of people like
- 13:38it. For some reason the younger fans
- 13:40are enjoying it. Me, I'm an old timer.
- 13:42I'm getting up there in age. I'm going to be 44 on Wednesday.
- 13:45So I'm getting up there in age. I've watched a pretty good
- 13:48baseball, but I'm starting to watch baseball fall down and I,
- 13:53I wonder if Rob Manfred, I, I'll go go to this Bud Selig to me
- 13:58ruined baseball. He hired Rob Manford, who I
- 14:03think, yeah, it might have kept his job, but Theo Epstein should
- 14:05have gotten that job. I think Theo Epstein is one of
- 14:08the biggest and the best when it comes to baseball sports,
- 14:11baseball minds I've ever seen. I love him.
- 14:13I think Theo Epstein has done so many great things in such a
- 14:16little time. But he he decided to to go own
- 14:19or be a part of that Boston Red Sox team.
- 14:21And we all know where they're going right now.
- 14:22But that's a whole nother story. I I look at George Steinbrenner.
- 14:27This guy saved baseball. This guy changed baseball.
- 14:31This guy opened the path for baseball.
- 14:34Why the hell is this guy not in the Hall of Fame?
- 14:37That's an easy one because he was suspended twice.
- 14:40So what? So Bud Selig should have been
- 14:42suspended and thrown out of baseball for allowing what he
- 14:45did? He sat there and who's OK?
- 14:48Steroids help. Baseball strikes over.
- 14:50Let's do it. No, he didn't care what Mark
- 14:53McGuire was doing. He didn't care what Sammy Salsa
- 14:55was doing. He didn't care what Barry Bonds
- 14:57was doing. He didn't care what Caminiti was
- 15:00doing. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 15:01Andy Pettit, Roger Clemens. He didn't care.
- 15:04Because guess what? They saved baseball.
- 15:06They put baseball back on top or at least brought him back on
- 15:10top. They're not better than
- 15:11football. As we all know, the NFL has
- 15:13taken over. But come on, Ken.
- 15:15Ken, what? What are we doing here?
- 15:16Why isn't George Steinbrenner in the Hall of Fame?
- 15:19I don't that. That's a bunch of crap for me.
- 15:21I you can't sell me right now. Well, he was suspended 2 times
- 15:25and he did this suspended. He was suspended for two years
- 15:27here. He was suspended.
- 15:28This guy took baseball. He changed baseball.
- 15:31You go to Jerry Jones. You see what Jerry Jones is
- 15:33doing right now for the Cowboy, what he did for the Cowboys.
- 15:35Everybody, every Cowboy fan says retire, tire, retire, retire.
- 15:38But this guy changed football, changed the sponsorship, opened
- 15:42up paths where money is being made for all these different
- 15:45teams and all these different sponsors.
- 15:48That's what George Steinbrenner did.
- 15:49Who do? Where do you think Jerry Jones
- 15:51got that information from? The Yes Network was the first
- 15:54television network for sports for for team.
- 15:58Then. Then who changed it?
- 15:59Jerry Jones did it. How does this guy not have a
- 16:03plaque in the Hall of Fame as the greatest owner and
- 16:07professional baseball? I answered your question and you
- 16:13spend the next 5 minutes screaming at me for answering
- 16:16your. Question Kenny, I'm trying to
- 16:17help you here. I want you to believe in me.
- 16:19Hey, what is your name? My name is Errol Marx.
- 16:22Yes, Errol. I I agree with you good Lord
- 16:26man. I mean you need to take a
- 16:28quaalude or something I. Wanna give me one I can use one?
- 16:31I agree with you. I was.
- 16:33I was offering my journalistic opinion of why Because I've
- 16:37actually done the work, Errol. I've interviewed people about
- 16:40why he didn't get in. I answered your question.
- 16:43You're freaking attacking me for giving you an answer where if
- 16:47you took the time to listen to me, you'd find out that I agree
- 16:49wholeheartedly with you. I'm just.
- 16:51Jesus Christ. I'm having fun, Kenny.
- 16:56I'm having fun. I'm trying to have fun here.
- 16:59We're we're opening up the floodgates here.
- 17:01I'm a Yankee fan. I'm a diehard Yankee fan.
- 17:04All right. My question here, do you think
- 17:07that what did they call those balls for Aaron Judge?
- 17:10The Goldilocks. Balls.
- 17:12Do you believe in any of this crap that the baseball tried to
- 17:16help Aaron Judge break Roger Maris's record because of Barry
- 17:19Bonds and his cheating and Mark McGuire and his cheating?
- 17:22Come on, what do you think? I'm not familiar with that
- 17:25theory and I I'm loath to believe it.
- 17:29You see, I got one. I got 1.
- 17:32All right. My last question.
- 17:33You got me on George too, but you didn't want to have a
- 17:36conversation. Oh, well, you know, I don't want
- 17:38to. I don't want to scare you away.
- 17:39It seems like I almost got you angry.
- 17:40He was about to jump out of your car.
- 17:42He was going to kill me or something.
- 17:44Maybe you have a bat in the back.
- 17:46You just start breaking your camera or something.
- 17:48OK, I'm just. I don't want to get killed here
- 17:50all. Right.
- 17:51My last question, I know you got to go soon.
- 17:53Yes, lockout possibly pending. With all the things the Dodgers
- 17:56have done in the offseason and obviously this whole salary cap
- 17:58debate, where do you stand on that whole things in your time
- 18:01covering baseball? Yeah, I think the sport is in
- 18:04real peril because of this issue and it's because of the Dodgers
- 18:08success. You know, you see what's
- 18:09happening. You see the the Mets obviously
- 18:11complete disaster with the second highest payroll.
- 18:14And then you look at the San Diego Padres.
- 18:17To me, they're, they should be the union's Exhibit A.
- 18:20Like, look what happens when you spend money, you make money, you
- 18:23know, you, you, you. They, the Padres elevated
- 18:26themselves and they sold at a huge price and they're
- 18:29incredibly exciting and competitive team.
- 18:33So I'm curious to see whether that helps bring about peace.
- 18:36But yeah, it's hard not to be pessimistic because of of the
- 18:40Hawk owner's desire for a salary cap and the Hawk players
- 18:44opposition to a salary cap. Kenny, what's retired, retired
- 18:47life like? I mean, you left, you're now no
- 18:50longer, you know, working with baseball.
- 18:51What are you doing? I know you're writing books, but
- 18:53what are you doing on, you know, obviously just chilling out and
- 18:56hanging out and and obviously being a father, being a
- 18:59grandfather. What are you?
- 19:00What are you doing? I'm not a grandfather yet, but.
- 19:03I'm trying to help here. I'm trying to figure it out
- 19:05here. I'm trying.
- 19:06I'm trying. You correct me up, Beryl.
- 19:08You're an interesting dude. Thank you.
- 19:10So yeah, I'm quite busy right now promoting the book.
- 19:15I'm also a adjunct professor at Endicott College in Beverly.
- 19:19MA is where I'm driving to right now, which is why I don't live
- 19:22in my car. I just, I'm driving up the
- 19:25Massachusetts and I pull it over to talk to you guys.
- 19:28Well, we really appreciate you. I really appreciate the time.
- 19:31Go check out his book. You can find it in every single
- 19:34bookstore, Amazon one O 1 lessons from the dugout, Kenny
- 19:39Davidoff and and I'll say this and, and if you're a David
- 19:43Wright fan and you follow David Wright and you're a big Mets
- 19:46fan, get the book. I'm telling you, it's definitely
- 19:48a book to read. Kenny.
- 19:51We really appreciate the time. I I hope you enjoyed the
- 19:53interview. Yeah, I'll tell you all, for a
- 19:56man who is not a, not a man of nuance, I appreciate the
- 19:59self-awareness. And yeah, you, you obviously
- 20:02annoyed me a little bit with that George exchange.
- 20:04But you, I, I give you credit for your energy and your
- 20:06entertainment value. Well.
- 20:07Thank you. I appreciate your day, Kenny and
- 20:10I'll we'll talk to you soon. Let's get you on again when
- 20:12you're actually, you know, in front of like, you know, a wall
- 20:15or something. You know that.
- 20:17Sounds good. All right, Ken Davidoff,
- 20:19fantastic. Great baseball guy.
- 20:22One of the better riders. I got him.
- 20:24Laughing. I got.
- 20:26Him Hey boy, I leave you for 5 minutes and you almost.
- 20:30What? David, I've almost gave you boy
- 20:33he. You weren't, you weren't
- 20:35entertained. You weren't entertained for that
- 20:38interview. Come on, Am I going to?
- 20:40I'm not going to sit here and be boring, OK?
- 20:43I am not one of those guys that's boring.
- 20:45Yeah, but you attacked the man, we say.
- 20:47I attack everybody. I.
- 20:49He thought he was talking to me. He thought he was coming after
- 20:53me about my giant states. I I listen when I go at it, I go
- 20:57out. It's strong.
- 20:57I'm not going to sit here and be boring.
- 21:00That ain't got nothing to do with being bored, I'm just
- 21:02saying. That had everything to do about
- 21:03being. Bored attack.
- 21:04He didn't feel entertained. Really do.
- 21:07Something. Are you not entertained?
- 21:10Yeah. Listen, you're about to do
- 21:11something too. I thought I would have to pull
- 21:13up on you. Yeah.
- 21:14Well, somebody, somebody's got to pull up on me.
- 21:16I mean, there's a lot more that where that comes from.
- 21:19Ladies and gentlemen. I just, I like to have fun, man.
- 21:21I'm not going to sit here and be boring.
- 21:23If anybody sits here and listens to this show and I, there's a
- 21:26ton of people that listen to the replay on Spotify and Apple.
- 21:29We have people slowly but surely getting to know us on YouTube.
- 21:34I am not a person that I am a controversial person, but I I am
- 21:37a person that's going to come at come at it strong, put
- 21:41personality to it. And and I'm going to make sure
- 21:43that people are going to remember the interview.
- 21:45I don't want anybody to think that I'm one of those boring
- 21:48guys that are going to ask the same questions over and over and
- 21:51over again. And.
- 21:52I'm not. Going to do it.
- 21:53I'm not going to do it. So I hope everybody enjoyed the
- 21:57interview. I'm sure there's a lot of people
- 21:58that listen to that interview and probably going to say, man,
- 22:01Ken wanted to get out of the car and beat the hell out of you.
- 22:04You. So you.
- 22:04Want him over, though? You want him over.
- 22:06He didn't expect you to come at him like that.
- 22:09He really didn't. Well, a lot of.
- 22:11People, he had to do his little peace treaty walk as well,
- 22:13though he had to. He had to cobble down.
- 22:15You be quiet. Kid, he was like, I'm agreeing
- 22:19with you, what are you talking about?
- 22:22Well, I'm glad you were laughing.
- 22:23And everybody else that's going to listen to this interview and
- 22:25laugh at him, listen. It's what makes this show
- 22:29different from everybody else's. I'm not going to sit here and
- 22:31I'm not going to lie to you guys, but I, I, I, that's not
- 22:36anybody that knows me and understands my personality.
- 22:39I am what I am on the show. I am in person.
- 22:42I'm a faithful straight up guy. I'm, I'm down to earth.
- 22:45Maybe some people think I'm a little overboard, but I am who I
- 22:49am. I don't, I don't try to pretend
- 22:51that I'm somebody that I'm not. So I want everybody to
- 22:54understand that when I go out there and I do this show and I
- 22:57put a lot of work into this. Every one of us put a lot of
- 22:59work into the product that we have and we want to entertain
- 23:03people. We don't want anybody to be
- 23:04bored and sit there. They're talking about the same
- 23:07garbage everybody and we're interviewing the same people.
- 23:12And oh, that was a horrible interview because that was not
- 23:14educational. That was absolutely ridiculous
- 23:17and redundant. No, that's not the way I
- 23:19interview people. Sorry.
- 23:21And so if you don't like it, kiss my ass.
- 23:23All right, Speedy 6 pack of the week.
- 23:26Let's have a Sixer who wants to play drink the beer.
- 23:30It's time for the Speedy 6 pack of the way.
- 23:35Oh, that was a nice part. I farted, do you want to jerk me
- 23:41off? All right, Speedy, let's go.
- 23:43All right, so we're in New York show where we'll start with the
- 23:46only New York team remaining in the playoffs, the Buffalo Sabres
- 23:48and they're looking good. They're justifying their case as
- 23:50the new number one seed. The first time in the playoffs
- 23:52forever, including game 4. Four goals in the first period
- 23:57within the 1st 10 minutes of that game.
- 23:58They dominate the Bruins to take a three to one series lead.
- 24:02In that one they pulled goalies after the game.
- 24:05Two there was a half court shot that basically went in through.
- 24:08Half court? What is this basketball?
- 24:09Half ice, I should say. Yeah.
- 24:10I'm trying to help. Halfway across the ice, that
- 24:12went through Lekinen's legs and he was pulled in that game.
- 24:16Alex Lyons taking over. Since then, it's been very good
- 24:18and Buffaloes rallied around him.
- 24:19Oh, by the way, anybody that knows me on this show, I'm a big
- 24:23Tage Thompson fan. He has four points in this
- 24:26series. This team is just to me,
- 24:29energetic, fun to watch. They're fighting, they're
- 24:31kicking the crap out of the Boston Bruins and I'm loving it.
- 24:34You have your goaltender come right out of get pulled out of
- 24:37the game and yells at his team when he walks off the ice.
- 24:40When you see that, you know, oh, stuff is happening.
- 24:44If you're a New York fan, I don't care if the Islanders are
- 24:47not there. I can.
- 24:48I don't care if you're the you're a Ranger fan.
- 24:50You love this. This is a young, energetic team
- 24:53that's going to move on to the playoffs and maybe go to the
- 24:56Stanley Cup Finals. I'm loving it.
- 24:57Yeah, it's a young team that's doing it right away to a
- 24:59defenseman getting involved in the rush to you.
- 25:01Owen Powers play very well. Bowen Byram had a goal in that
- 25:04last game as well. And sometimes you get with those
- 25:06younger teams a little adversity to start right away, but they're
- 25:09definitely showing it and doing it in Boston too, which is a
- 25:12tough place to play. So we had kudos to the Buffalo
- 25:15Sabres. Let's go to the other Atlantic
- 25:17Division match. This ones been thrilling.
- 25:18By the way, I want to say David Posternick after this series
- 25:21probably should ask to be traded because this this brewing team
- 25:24is done. Interesting.
- 25:27We'll see if that develops in the offseason.
- 25:28This has been a very thrilling series.
- 25:30On the other side, what I was thinking cut was essentially my
- 25:32Easter conference finals, Tampa and Montreal.
- 25:35So they're tied two to two now. All three games have been one
- 25:37goal game so far. 3 have gone to overtime.
- 25:40Montreal winning game one and Tampa winning game two.
- 25:42Kind of going in a pattern after that.
- 25:44Martin St. Louis.
- 25:46I love them, absolutely love him.
- 25:48I think to me that's what you want to see your coach.
- 25:51You want to see him energetic behind and getting his team
- 25:54pumped up, yelling at the referees, yelling at the other
- 25:57players. Brandon Hagel's been
- 25:59unbelievable. He has been as good as anybody
- 26:01in the playoffs. Jake Genzel, Genzel, 7 points.
- 26:07Nick Suzuki, one of the best young players.
- 26:09He was drafted in the later of the first round a couple of
- 26:11years ago and everybody was saying how talented this kid is.
- 26:14They've got tremendous amount of talent.
- 26:16And Noah Dobson, I root for Noah.
- 26:18I know he's no longer with the Islanders, but he is now with
- 26:20the Canadians. I all I want to see is I want to
- 26:23see this young team really turn this turn this series into a, a
- 26:27series that they can win and, and move on to the players.
- 26:30I want to see Montreal go all the way to the Eastern
- 26:32Conference finals. I, I, I love what I'm seeing
- 26:35with the the Sabres and I love what I see with the Canadians.
- 26:39I want to see these two young teams make it all the way to the
- 26:42finals. It's kind of weird to think that
- 26:43like some of these young players, not probably only about
- 26:46half the roster made. It's the Stanley Cup with
- 26:48Montreal in that in that short season, that 56 game season.
- 26:51And they are they have played Tampa in the finals of loss.
- 26:53But it's interesting to see like what level of experience they
- 26:56have. They played Washington very
- 26:57close last year when Washington was the best team in the East,
- 26:59and it gave an interesting thought that they could
- 27:01definitely be a sleeper team in this division.
- 27:03And then Tampa, obviously, you know, the experience they have,
- 27:05the only team that usually beats them is Florida.
- 27:07So now it's an interest to see the potential that they could.
- 27:09Have It's just fun. You watch a young team and
- 27:11they're developing right in front of your eyes.
- 27:13Martin St. Louis took over this team three
- 27:15years ago and slowly but surely has gotten this team to play at
- 27:18a high level. He's got a bunch of young
- 27:20players, he's got a couple of veterans and they're starting to
- 27:22believe in his way of coaching and the way he wants to run this
- 27:26team and and the way he's and by the way, this team has played in
- 27:30every single factor, defense, offense, power play, penalty
- 27:33killing. I love what I see and IA lot of
- 27:35people don't think they could beat the Lightning.
- 27:37I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 27:38Montreal wins this series in seven games.
- 27:41I had I had lightning in seven originally, but I like I said,
- 27:43this is essentially my Eastern Conference finals.
- 27:44These two teams, these are the two teams I think that had the
- 27:46best shot at going to the cup because Montreal doesn't have a
- 27:48really good balance in their game as well.
- 27:49Like you said, defense, the combination of like a lot of
- 27:52young players, it's already been paid.
- 27:53So we talked about it on Dial It Up last year.
- 27:55They're kind of the Braves model of the NHL.
- 27:57All right, We'll finish it off in the Eastern Conference.
- 27:59Out of the two more lopsided series, the Flyers up 3 to one
- 28:02on the Penguins right now, getting some really good
- 28:04goaltending in that in that series.
- 28:05And then Carolina sweeping the auto Senators.
- 28:08And now this rumor swirling, maybe Brady Kachuk could be on
- 28:11his way out. Yeah.
- 28:13First of all, I'm rooting for the Penguins.
- 28:15I want to see Sidney Crosby. This might be his last run, at
- 28:18least with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
- 28:19If he decides to come back next year, which I believe he still
- 28:23has it in him to come back, he probably probably won't be a
- 28:26Pittsburgh Penguin. I think he'll go somewhere else
- 28:28where he can win. Maybe he goes play plays with
- 28:30Connor McDavid over there in Edmonton or go somewhere else.
- 28:33I it's horrible to see how when you get old and and as an
- 28:37athlete, how far you fall off. But Crosby still playing at a
- 28:41high level, Malkin, he's definitely not going to be back
- 28:43next year. And Carlson, who's won it to me
- 28:47is going to be all three guys could be Hall of farmers in the
- 28:49future. They're just not doing enough in
- 28:52the series. And, and this is a young Flyers
- 28:54team. Zeigris has been unbelievable.
- 28:57Young kid Porter Matone, he's been good.
- 29:01So these guys have been playing at such a high level.
- 29:03I hope Pittsburgh takes this to six games.
- 29:06I'm sorry, five games, right 5. Games 5 tonight?
- 29:09That's right on right now. So I'm sorry, yeah, take it to
- 29:11six games and we'll see how it works.
- 29:13All right. So moving on into the Western
- 29:16Conference, we'll start with. By the way, I forgot I didn't
- 29:18give the by the way, I don't know what's going on with the
- 29:21Senators and the Senators had such a good late run all the way
- 29:26to the playoffs. They squeezed into the playoffs
- 29:28and I I like this team and Taylor Hall.
- 29:31I I mean, where did this guy come from?
- 29:33This guy jumped over the team from team to team, wins an MVP
- 29:36with the Devils. Go somewhere else, go somewhere
- 29:38else, go somewhere else and all of a sudden he just comes out of
- 29:41nowhere and and stank oven. I mean stank oven.
- 29:44What a name. Stank oven.
- 29:47I I mean, he stinks. No, I'm just kidding.
- 29:49He has been playing, Yeah. It's such a high level.
- 29:51I mean, and Rob Brindemore, I I love, I love Rob Brindemore.
- 29:55He's got one of the ugliest noses I've ever seen.
- 29:58It's ugly, guys. You mean it?
- 29:59You meet him. I've I've met him at the draft.
- 30:01It's an ugly nose. But I've always liked him when
- 30:04he played for Philly, when he when he traveled and he had the
- 30:07opportunity to play in the NHL as long as he did.
- 30:08I love him. The Senators.
- 30:10I, I wouldn't be so surprised if Kashuk gets traded in the
- 30:13offseason as the rumors swirl. Remember I said this.
- 30:17Florida Panthers. This brother very interesting
- 30:21that could be the aggressive movement that you get Carolina's
- 30:24their defense was showcase on full display.
- 30:26Florida Panthers. Nobody said that.
- 30:28Ottawa, we knew like a lot of these teams could steam out.
- 30:30Usually they they get hot just to get in.
- 30:32Obviously other teams like Columbus, like the Islanders had
- 30:34to go cold for them to sneak in, but again, it just wasn't
- 30:37enough. But they're, I decided to shock
- 30:39not a team that has a lot of great sides against the Carolina
- 30:41team that really has good physicality, good defense when
- 30:43they need to, and we'll actually get to the 6 pack degrees of
- 30:47Logan Stankoven in the Western Conference.
- 30:50Stankoven. In just a bit because.
- 30:51He. Stinks he was actually the main
- 30:53piece in the Miko Rotman trade. So we'll get to that in a bit.
- 30:56But first that we'll go to the Pacific Division for this next
- 30:59one. So Anaheim winning game four
- 31:01thriller. They came back down 3 to 2.
- 31:03Ryan, Ryan Paling, who actually Anaheim got in the zebras trade
- 31:07from Philly, scores the game-winning goal just squeaking
- 31:09by the under under the pad of former Penguin Tristan Jari just
- 31:14sneaking in. Anaheim wins that.
- 31:15One unbelievable 3 to 1. And then the Utah Mammoth are
- 31:18also up two to one against. Unbelievable too.
- 31:21So they won four to two in game three, and the game they got
- 31:23outshot 32 to 12. The Mammoth, I've been so
- 31:27impressed with this young team. Keller This is a team that's so
- 31:30explosive, so fun to watch and I, I just want to see them keep
- 31:34playing as hard as they've been playing.
- 31:36They've getting good goaltending in the series.
- 31:37They're playing good defense and they're really shutting down a a
- 31:41Vegas night team that spent a lot of money.
- 31:43They added some great players in the offseason.
- 31:46I, I, I, I'm very impressed with the Utah Mammoth is doing
- 31:50Anaheim. I have Anaheim beating the
- 31:52Edmonton Oilers. I they're my surprise team
- 31:54throughout the playoffs. They're they've got a bunch of
- 31:57veterans, they've got a bunch of young talent.
- 31:59They're fun to watch. I know you Ranger fans, you have
- 32:02Krupa there, you have Troopa there, you have Krider there.
- 32:05I know you guys aren't very excited to see what they're
- 32:08doing right now in the playoffs, being leaders, something that
- 32:11they couldn't do over there in New York.
- 32:14Yeah, it's a, it's a disconnect for Ranger fans over there,
- 32:17especially with Truba, because I think most of the Ranger fans.
- 32:19Say Lovey, that's what I would. Say and then the flyer fans,
- 32:22like I said with with pale go over there and also Cutter
- 32:25goatier who forces way out not affiliate every like don't care
- 32:27costly lovey for a while. Gautier had I think the tying
- 32:30goal in that game. Jackson Lacombe, also in a very
- 32:32good. Young, Where's webbing Yama when
- 32:33you need him? Say Lovey.
- 32:36We'll see if he could skate on a hockey rink, that would be
- 32:38another question. Could you imagine him?
- 32:40I mean, Chara was a pretty big man.
- 32:42He was the tallest player in NHL history, I mean, and I think
- 32:45he's. Like another stupid move for the
- 32:46New York island. Nobody said Mike Miller.
- 32:48Thank you. Yeah.
- 32:49And, you know, he scouted me when I was a kid.
- 32:52Mike Millbury. Fine, maybe that's fine.
- 32:55The fly squirrel fights it out every once in a while.
- 32:57Yeah, well, he didn't find enough because I didn't.
- 32:59I didn't play professional hockey.
- 33:01The nut was lost. Not your fault.
- 33:02Comparatively, the other right, the nut didn't drop to the right
- 33:04side, it dropped to the left. That wasn't your fault.
- 33:07Comparatively, the other Doug moves like drafting your least
- 33:10favorite hockey player, I have a Ricky Pietro.
- 33:12That's a whole another story. Let's not get into it.
- 33:14You don't want to piss me off. I pissed off David.
- 33:16Mr. Ken gave it off. You don't want to piss me off?
- 33:19No. All right, let's go to the the
- 33:21Minnesota and Dallas series, a very back and forth series as
- 33:24well. Lots of overtime games in that
- 33:25one, both in Minnesota, Dallas winning game three and double
- 33:28overtime on a Wyatt Johnston game-winning goal in that one.
- 33:31And then Minnesota winning game 4 on a hero in the A Hero in the
- 33:36Olympics with Matt Boldy. He was for game one in in
- 33:40against Canada. He scores the winner here in
- 33:42this game. This is the best series we we
- 33:44were going into and we said this series is going to be the most
- 33:47interesting because both teams can win the Stanley Cup.
- 33:50And what Minnesota did at the trade deadline, they had a queen
- 33:53use and and, and what they're what they're doing right now.
- 33:56I could I could see them being Dallas and you say Boldy Baldy
- 34:00actually kicked the puck in. It was taken taken away.
- 34:02The goal was taken away and then he scored the game winner again
- 34:06on a tip in it's it's unbelievable.
- 34:09I love Baldy. I love I love the kid.
- 34:11I love what he's done. You you got a chance to see him
- 34:14at A at a world level at the Olympics for Team USA scoring
- 34:18the first goal against Team Canada.
- 34:20It it's fun and I'm I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 34:23If Quinton use and Minnesota get eliminated in the first round, I
- 34:27could see Quinton use eventually because how many years does he
- 34:30have left on his contract? I think it's one year, two
- 34:32years. I thought he just got re
- 34:33extended so I think it's three but.
- 34:35Maybe, maybe he has to get traded to New Jersey.
- 34:38What do you think? Maybe I mean they devil's just
- 34:41hired AGM from the Florida Panthers organization.
- 34:43We know they like to make a lot of these things, I mean.
- 34:45I know he wants to play with his brothers.
- 34:47It makes a lot of sense. It's not the Rangers for all the
- 34:49Ranger fans that think they're the.
- 34:51Rangers. Everybody.
- 34:52You know what's so funny? I love New York fans because
- 34:56when when the they have money off, we could get them.
- 34:58We could get them. We could get them.
- 35:00I there's a guy on our show that thinks that the Giants are
- 35:03getting everybody. Everybody, you name it, they're
- 35:06getting them. Now.
- 35:07We could get them. We could get them.
- 35:09Oh, yeah, we got them. Yeah, 20 years later.
- 35:12Yeah. Good.
- 35:13We got them. All right, let's go.
- 35:14All right, continue on to the six pack degrees of Stankova.
- 35:18So Stankova was in the trade for Miko Rotten and who is now on
- 35:21Dallas but has not played as well in this series.
- 35:23We saw him do last year, very interesting.
- 35:25And then. Had a great season too.
- 35:26He did, he did and then the final part of that 66 pack
- 35:30degrees of separation is Martin Neches on his Colorado
- 35:33Avalanche, which I know is your cup pick.
- 35:35I had Minnesota winning the West and I definitely could see
- 35:38Colorado, but President's Trophy, we'll see.
- 35:40But they sweep their first round.
- 35:42The four O against the Kings didn't look great offensively in
- 35:44the beginning of the. Season Somebody's retiring.
- 35:46Was squeaking by and Andre Kopitar, yes, retiring as well.
- 35:49That's the other big factor that I think a future Hall of Famer
- 35:52for sure. Absolutely Hall of Famer.
- 35:56Colorado final note on this they are the only Western Conference
- 35:59one seed to sweep in the last 15 years besides themselves did in
- 36:022022 when they won the Cup. Congratulations to Andre
- 36:06Copitar, who's one of the best two way players the NHL has seen
- 36:09in the last 20 years. It's it's a great, this is a
- 36:12great player. This is one of the best, more
- 36:14underrated players because he played for the LA Kings and if
- 36:17you're a New York fan, you didn't get a chance to see him a
- 36:19lot. If you're not an LA Kings fan,
- 36:21this guy played his whole career over there with the LA Kings.
- 36:25It's impressive what he has done.
- 36:27He won 2 Stanley Cups. Very well deserved.
- 36:29Hall of Famer absolute first ballot Hall of Famer should be
- 36:33had a great great career. Two way player.
- 36:35Yeah, I was going to say kind of got under shadow with Patrice
- 36:38Bergeron to like how good of a two way player he was, but he
- 36:40was kind of the Western Conference version of.
- 36:41That absolutely. As far as the Colorado, Colorado
- 36:44Avalanche, this team is the best team overall in the whole
- 36:49league. They've got the best defense,
- 36:51man, you can argue the best offensive player in McKinnon and
- 36:55Makar. I, I mean this team is fully
- 36:57loaded and ready to knock you out.
- 36:59The goaltending is interesting. I, I, I want to see this
- 37:02goaltending hold up. That's always been their
- 37:04problem, but they're they we've seen them win a Stanley Cup with
- 37:07OK goaltending. This team is loaded.
- 37:10Their defense. They've got guys that are all
- 37:12all world defenseman. I know because one of them used
- 37:14to be an Islander. So in in in towns teams,
- 37:18whatever his name is, I, I, I know, I know what this team
- 37:21could do at a such a high level and I expect them to win it all
- 37:24this year. I don't think there's anybody
- 37:26that can go match for match with them with the talent that they
- 37:28have from for the first line to the fourth line to any line.
- 37:32Good luck. What?
- 37:33What? What will be interesting now
- 37:34I'm. Going to smack it and I'm going
- 37:36to win some money. What will be interesting now is.
- 37:38Smack it and I'm going to win some money.
- 37:41You have that? You're turning.
- 37:42Yeah, that cue. Smack it, I'm going.
- 37:45To win some money, you're muted. Good luck, Good luck.
- 37:53What you going to do when arrow marks goes wild on?
- 37:58You go get kid David. Oh.
- 38:03Last thing before we wrap up, I just want to mention is the rest
- 38:06versus rust factor that the debate.
- 38:07We've always said it's more of a bigger thing for basketball, the
- 38:10rest versus the rust being a factor more in hockey.
- 38:12Now Colorado, especially if the Wild and Star Series does go to
- 38:15Game 7 might be sitting for eight days, which could be
- 38:17interesting. Will that play into?
- 38:19It No, it's not. They're they're too good 8.
- 38:22Days. That's not a long time. 8 days
- 38:24of sin. They'll be fine.
- 38:26They need to they need to get healthy.
- 38:28They've got a bunch of guys that have been hurt for a significant
- 38:30time in the in the season and I love I, I'm rooting for all my
- 38:34ex Islanders over there. So I I want them to win.
- 38:37I want Colorado to win and I love Joe Sakic.
- 38:40I love Joe Sakic. So I think he's one of the best
- 38:42GM's, one of the more underrated GM's in all of hockey.
- 38:46And to me, I watched him play at such a high level.
- 38:49Hall of Famer, played with Peter Forsberg, those great Colorado
- 38:52teams, I mean, those Corbec Nordiques.
- 38:55All right, shut the music off. Shut the music, shut it off.
- 38:59They they, they all those Hall of Famers had to like, lift
- 39:03their arms up to carry Chris Drury to a Stanley Cup.
- 39:05That's right, smack it, smack it, eat it.
- 39:08All right, ladies and gentlemen, we're going to go and recap the
- 39:12NFL Draft. This is going to be fun for all
- 39:15you Giant fans and Jet fans. You're going to ready and you're
- 39:19going to eat some smelly testosterone.
- 39:23Testosterone, right? What?
- 39:25I am not going to say that word because I don't care about that.
- 39:27Word testes, You know. God, now you're made even
- 39:30weirder. All right, let's go.
- 39:31Come on. Come in.
- 39:32Come in, come in. You want me to go?
- 39:36Yeah, yeah. I brought up put me for on the
- 39:38side. You could go for The Jets. 1st
- 39:40right, the Giants. You want to know my feeling
- 39:43here, You want to know my feeling.
- 39:45All right, I'm going to give the New York Jets an A.
- 39:49I'm going to give him an A. I'm not going to give him a
- 39:51Plus. I got to see how these players
- 39:52develop and and how Aaron Glenn. Gets this.
- 39:56Listen, man, I'm going to try to be honest with you guys.
- 39:58For all you Jet fans out there, you should be excited.
- 40:01You got what you needed. And now hopefully Geno Smith can
- 40:05get the ball to them. Better get the ball to them.
- 40:08I love David Bailey. I didn't now I'm going to say
- 40:11this. I would have preferred Reese
- 40:13because of the other side. I'm just hold on.
- 40:15I'm going to say let me let me throw it out here.
- 40:17Hold on. I'm just coming.
- 40:19I ain't interrupting. I like David Bailey.
- 40:21I think he's going to be the best pass rusher in this class.
- 40:24But the more upside guy and by the way, the Giants picked the
- 40:26wrong guy and Reese, that was the one pick that I questioned.
- 40:29I would have went with Sonny Styles.
- 40:31I don't care what Joe Judge. I mean not Joe Judge.
- 40:34I'm sorry Mr. Joe Shane did because I don't trust Joe Shane.
- 40:38I never did. But my opinion here is I love
- 40:41David Bailey. I think he's going to be very
- 40:43aggressive. He's going to, to me, he's the,
- 40:47I believe a ready made player. You don't have to wait for this
- 40:50guy to develop. This guy's already developed.
- 40:53He can dominate. He already said he's going to be
- 40:55a three down guy. I think he's going to be so
- 40:57explosive for the New York Jets. You, if you're Jet fan, you
- 40:59should be very, very happy with him.
- 41:01He's going to be playing on both sides of the edge and now you
- 41:04have a legitimate guy that can go after the quarterback and do
- 41:07a lot of things. And by the way, Micah Parson
- 41:10said was his on his list, the best pass rusher in this class.
- 41:15Micah Parson said that he loves them.
- 41:18Very interesting to see how his secondary moves will develop.
- 41:21That was the biggest thing I had coming out of his draft with
- 41:23him. I still thought.
- 41:24He was, dude, he's bull rushes people.
- 41:25I don't think he needs a secondary move.
- 41:27Well, yeah, that's. That's not going to work in the
- 41:29NFL I. Was going to say that's the
- 41:30move. Said he's going to develop a.
- 41:32Lot more we'll see to. Get to that to level to justify
- 41:34this. But again, still top 10
- 41:35prospect, like you said. Q More of a natural pass rusher
- 41:38on the edge, so it's going to be hard for him in the transition
- 41:40and make an instant impact, at least from that perspective.
- 41:42Now there were questions with his run defense, but again, I
- 41:44think this is a prospect that if developed right still.
- 41:47You don't need it. Classify that when you.
- 41:49Let them. Talk.
- 41:50You don't need it because you added the players that you need
- 41:52the the behemoths that are going to clog up the middle.
- 41:55They don't need a guy that's going to clog up the middle.
- 41:57They need the guy to come off the edge and attack that which
- 42:00they haven't had since John Abraham.
- 42:01You need the guy to set the edge.
- 42:04That's what you need. That's what Speedy's trying to
- 42:07explain, but you won't let. Him talk he explains too long he
- 42:09goes around in a circle it's like a merry it's like a merry
- 42:12go round it's like a merry go round he says it over and over
- 42:16and over again listen, just spit it out spit it out let's hear
- 42:20your. Tell the concrete jungles on
- 42:21Thursday. Yeah, Bailey was the best pit
- 42:25for The Jets, as I have said in previous episodes.
- 42:29But yeah, I think he'd do well. I think he will eventually get
- 42:34to the three technique. I think that he has good
- 42:37explosive skills on the outside, but I just think that he would
- 42:41dominate more from a three technique 3 technique and it'll
- 42:44be able to give him that speed that he would need to actually
- 42:47get to the pass. Russia against prototype NFL
- 42:50guards during the in regards to the the offensive tackles and
- 42:55him going against them, like I said earlier, the boy rush ain't
- 42:58going to be as an effective primary pass rushing technique.
- 43:05So he would have to develop. I do see some areas in where he
- 43:08need to get better in regards to his hands and get rid of old
- 43:12alignment, but that's traditional when it comes to
- 43:15coming from college into the pros.
- 43:17So he got called Dunbar over there and I know he'll get him
- 43:20right in regards to helping him with that aspect.
- 43:22But he was the best pick. He was a good pick.
- 43:24I give the The Jets a A+. I don't know if we're gonna keep
- 43:28going. I don't know if we're going to
- 43:29the other two. I was I.
- 43:32Yeah, let me let me ask you a question though, quick queue
- 43:34about Bailey, because the one knock on Bailey was not his pass
- 43:38rushing. He was obviously the best at
- 43:40that in college football last year.
- 43:43The net, the knock was his run defense.
- 43:45And now Speedy was saying set the edge.
- 43:47You know, I think of setting the edge.
- 43:49I think I go back to Carl Banks and the Giants.
- 43:51You know, why was Lawrence Taylor so effective?
- 43:53Well, you couldn't go the other way because Carl Banks was
- 43:55there, right? So you were damned if you did,
- 43:57damned if you didn't. You couldn't run away from him
- 44:00and you couldn't run at him. It was amazing that you can have
- 44:03that on one side. Now, Bailey can't really do
- 44:05that, they say. Now my question to you, Q is,
- 44:08can you coach good run defense into a guy or is this something
- 44:12that you just have to have a knack for?
- 44:14I think you manage it. I don't think you could coach
- 44:16it. I see it's a mentality type
- 44:18thing in regards to whether or not you want to play the run or
- 44:21whatnot. The good thing about him is only
- 44:24very few teams that really kind of run the ball, run the ball
- 44:26like running down your throat. So I think that he'll be OK.
- 44:29They can basically hide him in some sense.
- 44:32And basically with that 425 nuclear defense, I think they'll
- 44:35position him well where you know they'll overload on that more on
- 44:38that side versus the opposite. When you get.
- 44:41You just worry, right, Because I really, you know, if he doesn't
- 44:44do that, then they can't play on the field.
- 44:46All three downs and then that's not a valuable pick as a second
- 44:49overall pick. That's that's what the worry was
- 44:52with Bailey and I still think that is a worry.
- 44:55You know, they The Jets had a guy like that, you know, that
- 44:58they that they thought could be with Bryce Huff that they like,
- 45:01oh, a few years ago, who was a great, you know, and he sucked
- 45:04for and he. Sucked for Philadelphia.
- 45:06I don't want to hear it. He sucked.
- 45:07I'm just saying like that role to be that third.
- 45:09Now he's with Tennessee, I think so great, but.
- 45:11Whoever, whoever does that job that year, it's an important
- 45:14job. But is that a number two overall
- 45:16pick job? Yes, You know what I'm saying?
- 45:18Yes, it's got a no. No, Bryce Huff isn't that.
- 45:20You wouldn't say Bryce Huff's number 2.
- 45:22Guy David Belly. Say like.
- 45:23David Belly is much better than Bryce Huff. 100% I'm just saying
- 45:27like if he doesn't pick up the rush though, he's going to be on
- 45:30the field almost as much as Bryce Huff instead.
- 45:33It won't be that bad. It's a, it's a technique, simple
- 45:35technique that he can do that, that can protect him to get off
- 45:40and then make sure he attacked that outside shoulder just to
- 45:42set the edge again. That the the thing that favors
- 45:45him the most is then the fact that there's a passing lead.
- 45:48Like so majority of the I mean, you got guys that'll be, you
- 45:51know, 2nd and 9:00 33. They'll do emotional receiver
- 45:55and throw a little out route. Like there's going to be more
- 45:58passing down than rundown. So you're going to run into a
- 46:00few teams, the Seattle's and etcetera in regards to who runs
- 46:04the ball, run the ball. I think the football giants
- 46:06might be trying to get back to that a little bit.
- 46:09But other than other than that, he's not going to, you know,
- 46:11have that issue of like having to stop the run day, day in and
- 46:14day out. And then and if they do, they're
- 46:16just blitz on his side and then they'll stop it as well.
- 46:18I love Kenyan Sadiq. I absolutely love him.
- 46:21I everybody that listens to the show and understands what I've
- 46:24been watching all season long college football and watching
- 46:27Oregon. I think this guy is one of the
- 46:29best. He is the best red zone guy in
- 46:31this draft. I don't think you can argue
- 46:32that. So explosive 6 foot three tight
- 46:35end. We're on the 4.39.
- 46:38I mean the fastest tight end in the combine.
- 46:40There's nothing bad to say about this guy.
- 46:42This guy's going to create so many mismatches.
- 46:44Who's going to stop and what linebacker is going to be able
- 46:46to keep up with him? I I you can move him as a wide
- 46:49receiver, you can move him in the slot.
- 46:50He's is a great slot player. They could move him as a running
- 46:53back, prototype guy that can do things in the back end.
- 46:56This guy can do everything and he's going to be so explosive in
- 46:59this offense. He's going to be a blanket for
- 47:02Geno Smith and whoever is the next quarterback of this team.
- 47:04This is an absolute bomb for the New York Jets.
- 47:08Love him. Omar Cooper moving up from 30 to
- 47:1133 to 30. A lot of people thought that The
- 47:13Jets were going to move and and draft him at 16, but they
- 47:16thought it was a little too high.
- 47:18So getting Kenyan Sadiq and Omar Cooper junior, you solidify your
- 47:23wide receiving core. Garrett Wilson on one side, Omar
- 47:26Cooper junior on the other. I mean, this guy is explosive.
- 47:29Won a national championship, did everything right all season
- 47:33long. May 1 of the greatest catches in
- 47:34college football history, as you see right, right there, gets his
- 47:37feet in special, very special, and he can run every single
- 47:42route. He might be The Jets number one
- 47:44in the long run, that's how good he is.
- 47:47Special player I, I'm very excited to see this guy play on
- 47:50a football field live, get to interview him, get to see what
- 47:53he can develop into. I, I'm, I'm so ecstatic for for
- 47:58Moji Darren Moji's first round for the New York Jets.
- 48:01Yeah, there's a lot of good picks to like.
- 48:03I compared Kenyan Saadiq to a faster version of Trey McBride.
- 48:06I think besides, he has to clean up the easy drops sometimes.
- 48:08He had issues with that in college.
- 48:09That's really the only thing that's a mental thing that could
- 48:10be cleaned up very easily. His ability is second to none.
- 48:13Cooper, good big body guy, good hands.
- 48:15I think they can make it work to as good.
- 48:17Good compliment to Garrett Wilson and the Angelo Pons too.
- 48:20You'll get to him in a bit. I'd really like to as a steal in
- 48:23the second round as well. Even though he's small, he's a
- 48:25good, well-rounded skill. Set I'm gonna get.
- 48:27I got my answers to that one. Yeah, I thought Sadiq was good.
- 48:31Obviously he was a tremendous tight end receiver at Oregon and
- 48:36whatnot. So I think it was a good
- 48:37blanket. Like you said earlier, it was a
- 48:39good blanket receiver for Gino. One of one of the things that
- 48:43Jenna have a had a problem with in the past is getting rid of
- 48:46the ball. And I think with him having that
- 48:48threat right there down in the middle, these quick out routes
- 48:52and things that need you to kind of take that pressure, alleviate
- 48:54that pressure from the past rushing.
- 48:56I think it would be good for him.
- 48:58And then you go ahead and you draft Omar Cooper.
- 49:01I think, you know, he's the guy that's going to fly over the top
- 49:03and in there kind of stretch the defense and then kind of have.
- 49:09Wasn't it Garrett Wilson? Garrett Wilson.
- 49:11Yeah, yeah. Do we more of a yet guy you
- 49:13know, and cross the middle, you know, come back routes and
- 49:17things of that nature because he wouldn't necessarily have to
- 49:19stretch the defense as much now where he can he pairing up with
- 49:22Mark Cooper. So I think it's a A+ again, I I
- 49:26want to remind our listeners that I do think this was a A
- 49:29plus. I do think this solidified us
- 49:32going to the playoffs this year and I look forward to.
- 49:34Stop this crap. Stop.
- 49:36You know, You know what it does do.
- 49:38It allows you to be multiple on offense right now.
- 49:40You can run 12 personnel and be fine with it out there.
- 49:43You got both of those tight ends out there.
- 49:45You can align it. You can have it allows you to
- 49:47put both tight ends on the same side of the field.
- 49:49You can do a spread look with them.
- 49:51You can put one of those guys like Siddiq did in College in
- 49:53the backfield and act like an old I formation full back with
- 49:56him running some flat patterns, some wild bananas as Jon Gruden
- 50:00would say. You know what I'm saying?
- 50:02Like, there's a lot of cool stuff you could do now that will
- 50:05free up Garrett Wilson, by the way, which is probably the idea
- 50:08of this offense because that guy's still really great.
- 50:11And if you could free him up with real complimentary pieces,
- 50:14a real slot receiver next to him and Omar Cooper and a tight end
- 50:18that can do anything else, and you already have Mason Taylor,
- 50:21you're almost there. That offense is almost there.
- 50:24I don't know if it's the promised land as.
- 50:29Yeah, it's there. It's just hard to admit the
- 50:31people. That's that's it.
- 50:32The people, it's hard to admit, that's it.
- 50:34But they dare. It's not hard.
- 50:35They dare. It's not.
- 50:37Yeah, not this year. And Glenn?
- 50:39I I love D'Angelo Ponce. I love him and the fact that he
- 50:44felt, I think he's a first round talent.
- 50:46His size. There were questions with his
- 50:48size. Aaron Glenn was small.
- 50:50Darrelle Revis was 510. This guy doesn't need to be big.
- 50:53This guy plays big, plays rough. He's mean.
- 50:57He goes out there and he hits this.
- 50:59This guy is as good as anybody in this class.
- 51:02Everybody keeps talking about the lane.
- 51:04This guy might even be better than Delane when you look at his
- 51:06numbers in the analytics. This guy was one of the best in
- 51:09the country all season long and he did it at such a high level.
- 51:12To move down to drop down a couple of spots and still get
- 51:16him at 50 says a lot about this Jets draft.
- 51:19This guy could be a number one. I don't care what anybody says,
- 51:22always a slot guy or he's not big enough, I don't care.
- 51:25You tell me right now. This guy, he's not going to
- 51:28punch you right in the mouth at the line.
- 51:30He is going to punch you. He's going to make you know that
- 51:32he's going to be there. You could put him anywhere on
- 51:34the field and he's going to make you feel it.
- 51:36Go watch the clips, go watch the videos.
- 51:39This guy is as good as anybody in this class.
- 51:42I love this move for Darren Moji.
- 51:45As far as Darrell Jackson, I think Darrell Jackson is going
- 51:48to be a good player in this league.
- 51:49It's going to take him a couple of years to figure it out, but
- 51:52he's going to get a chance to play on a line with a bunch of
- 51:54veterans get to see and and and get to understand what you have
- 51:58to play at a high level. I think the kids big.
- 52:00He's got a tremendous upside fast off the line.
- 52:03I'm a Florida State fan so I'm happy they they keep drafting
- 52:06these Florida State guys. So I'm liking it.
- 52:08The Jets moving up for clay for Kade Klubnik.
- 52:11This guy two years ago two years ago was one of the best
- 52:14quarterbacks in the nation. This this past year had an off
- 52:17year wasn't healthy. Now, this is a project and you
- 52:21have right, you have right there, I think Reich is going to
- 52:24help this kid develop. He's going to be the bat.
- 52:26I think he's going to make this team.
- 52:28He's going to be the backup to Geno Smith.
- 52:30I, I really do like Kate Klopnick.
- 52:32He's not going to be, he'll never be a starter for the New
- 52:35York Jets, I don't think. But a great backup, 100%.
- 52:40Whoever you bring in next year, whoever you draft next year, to
- 52:43have this guy to play behind him and have a a prototypical guy
- 52:47that you can go to if somebody goes down.
- 52:49I think this guy's going to be a good quarterback in the NFL,
- 52:51backup quarterback as we've seen.
- 52:54Anez Cooper, I like him. He's got to develop.
- 52:58He's another guard. Couple years learning in that
- 53:01often on that offensive line. He could be the future left or
- 53:04right guard for this New York Jet team.
- 53:06They're set that offensive line set.
- 53:08They need a center. They're going to draft a center
- 53:10next year. Quote me on this.
- 53:12There's a couple of really big centers coming out of next
- 53:14year's class. Expect them to do that.
- 53:16But this is one of the best young offensive lines in
- 53:18football. I expect they're going to
- 53:20protect Geno Smith. I think Breece is going to have
- 53:22an unbelievable season with the weapons they add in VJ Payne, a
- 53:26steal in the seventh round, a steal.
- 53:29I think he's a fourth, early, early fourth round draft pick.
- 53:32The fact that he fell to the seventh round, a lot of people
- 53:35can state this guy is a great player.
- 53:38I think he's going to make this team.
- 53:39I think he's going to play a big part.
- 53:40He's going to be on the special teams, but eventually he's going
- 53:43to earn his way on to that starting line up in as a safety,
- 53:46free safety, playing with Fitzpatrick.
- 53:49I I think The Jets have something very special here.
- 53:51Yeah, he's a guy that I think it could be used at the end of the
- 53:54game when it comes to the Diamond quarter defenses.
- 53:56And he's a good man coverage guy, not really a great tackler.
- 53:59So he's not going to play a lot in the early downs, but not bad
- 54:02for the. You can learn.
- 54:03You can learn. Yeah, Klubnik I always liked
- 54:05because I think his traits are very good.
- 54:07He's a guy that can make a lot of different intermediate
- 54:09throws. Again, had a bad year last year,
- 54:11as many Clemson players did, was just bad decision making.
- 54:14And Jackson, I think is a guy that definitely is a guy you
- 54:16could plug in on rundowns to if you need to beef up the inside,
- 54:19like you said earlier with Bailey, maybe just try to help
- 54:21him with him and obviously Sweat who they traded for to help have
- 54:24that beef in the middle. Yeah, I just comment on pause
- 54:28because he was a he was a like you said earlier, he was a
- 54:31steal. I think he definitely was more
- 54:33of a late first round type talent.
- 54:36I would love to see him a little more patient in regards to
- 54:39coverage. I don't like my corners to be a
- 54:42hitter that that's that takes away and and from the passing
- 54:47coverage. And then it also prevents them
- 54:51from being as great in protection.
- 54:53I mean, and defending these top receivers, that's going to be
- 54:56fine over the radar. I do like that he will hit, but
- 55:00a little bit more patience when it comes to covering.
- 55:02But outside of that, he's a heck of an athlete all over the
- 55:06field, special teams guy that we can kind of throw in there for
- 55:09some situations as well. So yeah, I think he was
- 55:14definitely a steal for the second round and I'm glad that
- 55:17we got them and the other guys they got to earn their keeps, so
- 55:20I won't give too much take on them.
- 55:22They might be here today and be gone tomorrow, so I'll leave it
- 55:25at that. You know, pawns it gives me like
- 55:27the honey badger kind of feels like just that kind of loads for
- 55:30the game. That's slightly different
- 55:32position, right? But like similar concept like he
- 55:35just is going to be aggressive to the ball.
- 55:38He has this IQ about the game that's next level.
- 55:42He makes IQ plays like you saw in the College Football
- 55:44playoffs, taking that pick, that pick 6 early in the game and
- 55:47just setting the tempo immediately for that drug.
- 55:50Like Ponz is for real. That's an amazing pick.
- 55:53He's look, he's like 5758. That's why he fell, you know.
- 55:57But Aaron Glenn, not much taller, had a very successful
- 56:01career. Probably the exact right guy to
- 56:03have drafted him. Pretty cool.
- 56:06What about the Giants Errol waiting to hear about?
- 56:09This all right, so I think the giants had a great, great draft.
- 56:12I would go a minus. I I think there's a couple of
- 56:14spots I questioned R Valreese. We'll see how this guy develops.
- 56:18I would away with sunny styles, but you can't go wrong with a
- 56:21guy that has a tremendous amount of talent, could be explosive
- 56:24and and very, very good. Francis Magoa.
- 56:27I I think this kid is going to be one of the best guards in the
- 56:31league. He's going to be an All pro
- 56:32player. He's special.
- 56:33You put him right next to Thomas, who's I mean, they're
- 56:36going to be able to run the ball.
- 56:37They're going to be able to throw the ball.
- 56:38Nobody's going to be able to get through Jackson darts going to
- 56:41be able to to if they're there aren't, they have two yards to
- 56:43run. He's going to be able to run
- 56:44behind them. These guys are behemoths.
- 56:47I if you're going to ask me right now who's the better pick,
- 56:50Arvel Reese or Francis? Francis Magoa.
- 56:53I'm going Magoa. I think he is fantastic and I
- 56:57the fact that he fell to 10th and he's the best, I believe the
- 57:00best offensive lineman in his class says a lot about what the
- 57:03Giants needed to do to protect Jackson Darts.
- 57:06I love that pick. Yeah, my go I think has the
- 57:09traits that you definitely want with the size, the quickness
- 57:11fish we talked about that maybe has to get a little better with
- 57:14the technique, but I think that'll come overtime and he's
- 57:15going to start a guard for the time being.
- 57:17If, again, if one of the guys get hurt a tackle, they could
- 57:20easily slide him over. They don't have to worry about
- 57:21the depth issues that they've had.
- 57:23Reese, again, he's got all the traits in the world.
- 57:25Q You've mentioned it, what position he's going to play in
- 57:27this very versatile defense are gonna have to get very creative
- 57:30with the first year defensive coordinator.
- 57:32That's going to be interesting. But a lot of Harbaugh's defenses
- 57:34have this type of versatility, so I like it a lot.
- 57:39Yeah, yeah, Reese, I think just was a bad pitch just because you
- 57:43picked Dude Carter the year before.
- 57:46And I just think it's just going to be hard to fit him on the air
- 57:49side. So I do expect him to mix it up
- 57:52and kind of play him back in the back of position and back of
- 57:54road and every now and then send him up to the line of rush and
- 57:58things that nature. But he's he's a heck of an
- 58:00athlete. But it's not nothing that he
- 58:02does. It's like solidifies him as a
- 58:05true D lineman or a true linebacker.
- 58:07He's kind of one of those guys where you could just throw in
- 58:10the mix and then he can create and make a play based on
- 58:13wherever you put him. He had the ability to do that,
- 58:16but I just didn't see where it fit with the giant and then all
- 58:21Taco Magoo. I think he, you know, he's top
- 58:24tier. I thought, you know, he was one
- 58:26of those ones and they definitely want with him.
- 58:29Obviously, New York has quarterback issues with the
- 58:32Giants and I know that everybody's going with Jackson
- 58:35Dark, but, you know, we'll see how that plays out.
- 58:36But as far as submitted, find that spot on the old line.
- 58:40I think Francis Miguel was a great fit.
- 58:43All right, so I got to chime in in for Arvel Reese, who everyone
- 58:47was saying was the best defensive player before the
- 58:50draft. All of a sudden he's not a good
- 58:52pick because the Giants took him.
- 58:53I get it. I.
- 58:54Hear. No, it's just metrics.
- 58:56Yeah, Yeah. So you say metrics, yes, he's
- 58:58the best one. But were you talking about on
- 59:00the field? Because you're not going to be
- 59:02running 40s, you're not going to be big pressing 225, you're not
- 59:05going to be broad jumping. That's just metrics, you know?
- 59:08I got you, but how about what he's going to do on the field?
- 59:11And you're right, he's only going to probably be a down pass
- 59:14rushers. They bring the other guys inside
- 59:16and they just kind of play games with him.
- 59:17But he's going to be the will linebacker in the 425.
- 59:21He's going to be standing over B gap.
- 59:23If they're sliding, they play like an extra safety out there.
- 59:26He could be out kind of in the flat.
- 59:28You know what they want to do? They want to run some kind of
- 59:30orders coverage queue and they want him to cover the entire
- 59:32side of the field because he runs A4440 and he's 250 lbs and
- 59:36he can kill somebody and he's going to cover the entire
- 59:38sideline. That's a really valuable thing
- 59:41for first and second down, and then you can bring him off the
- 59:44edge because he's that good on 3rd down.
- 59:46You do that and you have Abdul Carter on the other side during
- 59:501st and 2nd with him on 1st and 2nd down.
- 59:52That's scary. Oh my God, the kind of stunts
- 59:54they would play together, That's crazy.
- 59:57I got a proposition for you, Sadiq out there at receiver and
- 1:00:02Orville have to move out to cover him.
- 1:00:03Who you got, Sadiq? Sadiq well.
- 1:00:07They would have three, they would have coverage, so.
- 1:00:09She. Keep running motor, that's what
- 1:00:12he's going to have to face. The one thing that made Reese
- 1:00:15very good as a as a versatile guy is his screen coverage.
- 1:00:18I'm not going to trust him in man coverage.
- 1:00:20I don't know if anybody, I don't know if anybody's, I don't know
- 1:00:23if anybody's seen Sadiq play. And if you haven't, go watch the
- 1:00:26clips. I watch the play all season
- 1:00:28long. That kid is a beast.
- 1:00:30He is a beast. You talk about Brock Bowers, you
- 1:00:33talk about Trey. This guy is just as good as any
- 1:00:36one of those guys. Give him three years, he's going
- 1:00:37to be an elite player. Elite.
- 1:00:39It depends. Q Like if you're talking about
- 1:00:41is he going to be able to cover the flat pass, I think Reese
- 1:00:43will cover any flat pass. I don't care if it's a deke or
- 1:00:46anybody else. But if you're telling me if he's
- 1:00:47going to cover him downfield, I don't know.
- 1:00:49I'm with you on that. One yeah, well, I mean if you
- 1:00:52got seen flat, he got 5 and out right or up to 10 yards and
- 1:00:55that's. All I'm saying.
- 1:00:56More likely than. I don't like that match up with.
- 1:00:58Not against Titans. Yeah.
- 1:01:03But you know that's why you run 3 safeties though, right?
- 1:01:05That's why you run the third safety and you let him take care
- 1:01:08of Sadiq and you just man him up on him and you do something
- 1:01:11weird so you can bring pressure. Good luck.
- 1:01:13That's. What they're going to do, Stefan
- 1:01:14Holland could cover better than he did last year, right?
- 1:01:17Yeah, well, we got another guy, Errol, to talk about.
- 1:01:19Why don't you talk about Mr. Colton Hood, who's going to be
- 1:01:22doing all the covering for the Giants?
- 1:01:23Here's the thing, for all the guys that were still available
- 1:01:27on the list, Terrell was still there and Ponds were still
- 1:01:31there. You went with Colton Hood, a lot
- 1:01:33of questions there. I'm not saying Colton Hood's
- 1:01:35bad. I think he's going to be a good
- 1:01:37player in the league elite. I mean there were two guys that
- 1:01:40a lot of people thought were should have been first round
- 1:01:42talent. Colton Hood was a second round
- 1:01:44talent in everybody's list. So I looking at the two guys
- 1:01:49that you drafted before that were drafted after him.
- 1:01:53I think honestly, I think this was a bad pick.
- 1:01:55Yeah, there were other corners I would have taken there, too.
- 1:01:57I also like the one Green Bay drafted with SIS as well out of
- 1:02:00South Carolina. Hood didn't allow a touchdown
- 1:02:03last year. That's the biggest.
- 1:02:04Thing he's good, he's good. Yeah, I'm not going to say it
- 1:02:06was. It wouldn't have been my
- 1:02:07favorite pick in that spot, but they needed to go corner,
- 1:02:09obviously. Obviously, these free agents.
- 1:02:11And I'm not worked out. I'm sorry to cut you off.
- 1:02:12I'm not trying to take shots at the Giants.
- 1:02:14I'm just telling you what I saw. And with when you look at the
- 1:02:17list of guys that were still out there, still available, they
- 1:02:20should have. I would have taken pawns over
- 1:02:22him any day, any day. Tyrell over him any day.
- 1:02:27Why wouldn't you go after the two guys that were profiled to
- 1:02:30be first round talents? And that that was the thing that
- 1:02:32had to do with the run of these corners.
- 1:02:34I guess Joe, Shane. They had to trust that maybe
- 1:02:37they're because they're trusting more man scheme because fish we
- 1:02:39talked about last week, he's more of a man type guy.
- 1:02:42That's where maybe John Harbaugh saw that more because his Raven
- 1:02:46scheme is used to be more zone now transition more to man.
- 1:02:48Maybe they're trying to do that more?
- 1:02:52What do you think, Hugh, about that defense out there?
- 1:02:54Yeah, I'm not mad at the pitch and I I think that Harbaugh can
- 1:02:59kind of plug him in obviously that you know, from a talent
- 1:03:04wise, he probably wasn't the best overall talent in
- 1:03:07somebody's opinion or whatnot. But I think this might have been
- 1:03:10where y'all did start to get it right in regards to the draft.
- 1:03:13I like Hood. I don't I think he's he'll be
- 1:03:16well versed in y'all defense and I think he could stop people and
- 1:03:20y'all like physical quarterbacks.
- 1:03:21He still got kind of a little bit of the size on his and he
- 1:03:25got he has size. So I think that it'll work out
- 1:03:27perfect for you guys. I think that was a good pick.
- 1:03:29I think that's where y'all hit it on the head without.
- 1:03:31That that's what Harbaugh is doing.
- 1:03:33Like every pick is about size, obviously, and the next pick is
- 1:03:36too. Errol, the Giants traded up.
- 1:03:39They didn't have a third round pick because they traded for
- 1:03:41Jackson to move up for Jackson Dart last year.
- 1:03:43So they ended up trading up to fourth round picks and A and A
- 1:03:47and 1/5 to in order to get Malachi.
- 1:03:51Field I like. It 64222 at a Notre Dame Big
- 1:03:57target. I like it.
- 1:04:00I I don't know if he's a #1 or #2.
- 1:04:03I think he's going to be used in many different ways in that
- 1:04:05offense. He's, he's not one of the faster
- 1:04:09guys in this class, but he's, he's got the ability to get into
- 1:04:12the red zone, catch the ball and he's got great hands.
- 1:04:15So I I think what they're trying to do now is get guys out there
- 1:04:19that can catch the ball because for years they've drafted guys
- 1:04:22with pot hands. Yeah, that's that's the study
- 1:04:25thing that you like with this official.
- 1:04:26I told you that on the phone too.
- 1:04:27Like you're not going to have to have a Darius Slaton situation
- 1:04:30or Jalen Hyatt situation, right? I thought Hyatt at the time was
- 1:04:33a good pick because I thought he was a second round pick.
- 1:04:35But still, there were flaws in his game that he never cleaned
- 1:04:37up and the coaches didn't see it.
- 1:04:39Now there are guys ahead of them I liked a little more.
- 1:04:41I liked the one Carolina took the most with Brazil.
- 1:04:43So I guess you maybe guys want to stay away from Tennessee.
- 1:04:45Wide receiver, fine, but got him a Landon drafting Zechariah
- 1:04:48Branch. But I probably liked him a
- 1:04:49little more. But for what the role is going
- 1:04:51to be, Fisher mentioned a red zone targets good hands.
- 1:04:53I think he could get a good player.
- 1:04:56Yeah, good hands, tall, big target.
- 1:04:59You know, Harper loves those type prototype receivers and
- 1:05:03Cambodia he had picked up one time with the babies and things
- 1:05:06of that nature. So I think he's you know, I
- 1:05:09think it's just one of his picks that he liked.
- 1:05:11Obviously you need a more offensive weapons on the outside
- 1:05:13and so it was a good pair. So that was the second pic you
- 1:05:16did. So I think you guys hit it on
- 1:05:17the later end and fumble it on the on the front end.
- 1:05:21I don't know if he's a fumble man.
- 1:05:23I wouldn't say fumble. Watch Arvel Reese be dominant.
- 1:05:25I didn't like how I didn't like how Arvel Reese talked to the
- 1:05:29media. He made it seem like it's a sure
- 1:05:31thing. He just, he didn't answer the
- 1:05:35questions the way I would have wanted my player to answer the
- 1:05:38questions you. Know so there's no more media
- 1:05:41training no more so that you're not going to get I.
- 1:05:43Got it. I got it.
- 1:05:44It's. Ohio State, the Ohio State, they
- 1:05:46are a little, you know, it's. But it's a lot doesn't just
- 1:05:49that's talking crazy in these in these press times.
- 1:05:52Dude, he was kind of nasty, you know, and he.
- 1:05:56Found out he in the right media market.
- 1:05:58Yeah, Fields. Fields is perfect compliment to
- 1:06:00neighbors. If he's what they say, he's
- 1:06:02going to be right. Like that's what you want, the
- 1:06:04big, the big body target, the red zone target, not fast, but
- 1:06:08gets open. That's that's, that's more
- 1:06:09important than being fast. But you but it it could have
- 1:06:13been Jordan Tyson, it could have been Tate.
- 1:06:16They went this route, you know, I'm just.
- 1:06:18Saying Tate was gone before they could draft and Tyson.
- 1:06:21They weren't going to take over Reese or Styles, obviously,
- 1:06:25because they didn't. I'm just saying look.
- 1:06:27I have to tell you, I did the research because I I know I
- 1:06:30heard it said Mao Noah. Apparently it is Mao Noah.
- 1:06:36The G is silent and it's assumed because it's the word Maui.
- 1:06:41Like Hawaii, there's an an invisible N That's NGOA Maui.
- 1:06:49Maui Noah. Maui.
- 1:06:50Noah Maui. Easier to say.
- 1:06:52Maui. Maui, Noah.
- 1:06:54Yeah, well, anyway, Maui was going to be a beast, but he is
- 1:06:57going to play guard and they drafted a guard at 10 and that's
- 1:07:01basically what they did. Is he going to eventually be a
- 1:07:03tackle? I think he will after
- 1:07:04Illuminor's contracts done. He'll eventually move out there,
- 1:07:06like you said, Speedy, but you got to be able to run the
- 1:07:09football and you got to be able to protect this guy's mean, he
- 1:07:12said. Immediately, Errol, I'm going to
- 1:07:14die for Jackson. I heard that was like.
- 1:07:16The first thing out of his mouth, that's a little much.
- 1:07:19But if you if they have to be a little much, you got to be a
- 1:07:22little much. You should be playing guard.
- 1:07:24So thank you very much. I think I think Maui Noah was
- 1:07:29the best pick the Giants had in this class.
- 1:07:31I I think he's the best offensive lineman in his class.
- 1:07:34He might help them solidify that offensive line, but the other?
- 1:07:37Over downs, yes, that's what they did it over.
- 1:07:40Downs I would have I would have done.
- 1:07:42You need to protect your asset, Jackson thoughts your guy.
- 1:07:45So protect them, protect them. They did the right thing is
- 1:07:48that's a thought the. Guy I don't know, I think so I
- 1:07:51don't know. I throw the ball your.
- 1:07:53Trial error. Yeah, let's see if.
- 1:07:55He. Let's see him throw the ball and
- 1:07:57we'll talk. Yeah, take a look at the sixth
- 1:08:02round. There's three of them real
- 1:08:03quick. Bobby Jameson Travis, He was not
- 1:08:05on a lot of people's lists at. All I was just about to say.
- 1:08:08But JC Davis, a swing tackle, they they're thinking about
- 1:08:12moving Marcus Bow inside to like maybe set a backup center.
- 1:08:15So maybe this guy's going to replace him as a swing tackle
- 1:08:17type. And then Jack Kelly is an
- 1:08:20interesting player at a BYU. Big time linebacker out in the
- 1:08:24mountains over there. Not as fast as maybe you'd like,
- 1:08:29but he seems to be like a super special teams type of guy going
- 1:08:32forward. I'll tell you this, Bobby
- 1:08:33Jamison, Travis, I don't know much about him, but a lot of
- 1:08:37people think he should have been an undrafted player.
- 1:08:40I don't know if this is an absolute slam dunk for him.
- 1:08:43JC Davis, I don't even think he's going to make the team.
- 1:08:45Jack Kelly, he's going to make the team.
- 1:08:48I like him. I think he's I think he could
- 1:08:51have been a higher draft pick. I was reading some things about
- 1:08:53him. He's a leader.
- 1:08:54He's a senior BYUIII like Jack Kelly.
- 1:08:59I think he could be a big special teams guy, maybe
- 1:09:01eventually make that starting lineup.
- 1:09:03I mean, he's got the personality, a Pierce type of
- 1:09:06guy. That's what everybody keeps
- 1:09:07saying, a guy that can call the plays at the line and be a
- 1:09:10leader there for the New York Giants.
- 1:09:12I like the move. Yeah, I think it may be just an
- 1:09:14inside run defense specialist he's going to get starting Rops,
- 1:09:16but yeah, mostly special teams for him.
- 1:09:18I would imagine what Davis, he's going to be a rotational guy as
- 1:09:21well. Fish, like you were saying, a
- 1:09:22backup guard depth, but I don't think much more than that.
- 1:09:24And I agree with you on the Jameson Travis, he's probably
- 1:09:27going to be an undrafted. He was rotational, kind of an
- 1:09:29Auburn, too. All right, well, let's talk
- 1:09:32about the other New York team, which is, as John Fina pointed
- 1:09:36out during the draft, the only New York team, which is the
- 1:09:40Buffalo Bills. They traded 3 times out of the
- 1:09:45first round. They traded down, down, down.
- 1:09:47They ended up with 35, told you 621-O2125126 lot of picks.
- 1:09:55So here's who they got that told you.
- 1:09:58TJ Parker, the edge rusher. Love it goes to them that they
- 1:10:02obviously needed the corner from Ohio State, Davison, David
- 1:10:07Newson, and then they took an interesting project tackle, I
- 1:10:13believe the Boston College kid, Jude Bowery, the wide receiver
- 1:10:16out of Connecticut. A lot of people like Skyler Bell
- 1:10:19and the linebacker Caleb earns. Or everybody said they didn't
- 1:10:23have a first round, they didn't have a first round, blah, blah,
- 1:10:25blah. Everybody rated the the Buffalo
- 1:10:27Bills and an A. Some people had him in an A+.
- 1:10:30Plus what they did, they wanted to drive picks because they need
- 1:10:36positions to be filled. There are older players on this
- 1:10:39roster and they need the future to be filled.
- 1:10:42TJ Parker to me is a beast. I watched him play Clemson.
- 1:10:45Everybody knows I watched a lot of Clemson games.
- 1:10:47Guy's a beast, an absolute beast.
- 1:10:50I, I Ohio State cornerbacks are always successful.
- 1:10:53Always successful in the NFL, even.
- 1:10:55If they're drafted by the Giants.
- 1:10:56Yeah, exactly. But mainly they're very
- 1:10:59successful. So Davidson, I, I, I I've read
- 1:11:02about him, didn't get a chance to see him much because I didn't
- 1:11:05watch a lot of Ohio State games. I'm not a Buckeyes fan, but I've
- 1:11:08heard this kid is he's an incredible player.
- 1:11:11He's going to be good. And Jude Bowery, everybody says
- 1:11:14that his ability and his understanding of playing a
- 1:11:17position, they think he's a guard, they think he's a guard,
- 1:11:20but he could play tackle as well and you can move him on that
- 1:11:23fly. Skylar Bell, love it, love it.
- 1:11:26He got he felt in them in the first round.
- 1:11:28I mean, fourth round. I'm sorry, he's some people
- 1:11:31thought he was a late second round talent.
- 1:11:32He's a fourth round pick at 1:25.
- 1:11:35Love it. I'm going to tell you this right
- 1:11:36now for everybody that said I was crazy and I, I know you guys
- 1:11:40think I'm crazy. What Buffalo did, what Buffalo
- 1:11:43did, training down in the first round the way they did to
- 1:11:47solidify this team in the future.
- 1:11:49I think this was a pretty good move for this team.
- 1:11:51I I think they had a very good draft.
- 1:11:53Yeah, Parker was conceded as a first round pick in a lot of
- 1:11:55drafts, so getting good value there.
- 1:11:57They knew they weren't him with these dropping.
- 1:11:59Some people think he's the best edge rusher in his.
- 1:12:01Class yeah, there was a lot of debates with that like in that
- 1:12:04end of the round cluster ever soon.
- 1:12:07I think a long corner that they definitely could use compliments
- 1:12:09the other guys that they have well, if they need a press
- 1:12:11coverage specialist, I don't think you'll play a lot of snaps
- 1:12:14if their corners healthy. This was the number one pass
- 1:12:15defense in the NFL last year and like you said, Bell very good
- 1:12:18red zone type guy got to work on some cleaning up with drops, but
- 1:12:21again, pretty good overall. One guy you didn't mention
- 1:12:23though, Fish, I want to touch on his Jalen Kilgore at he's
- 1:12:26actually one of my my favorite picks, kind of a third round
- 1:12:28grade, but he felt a fifth round, I think a versatile
- 1:12:31Nickelback type safety. Let me go through the later
- 1:12:34picks. I was going to do the.
- 1:12:35I like Kilgore too, by the way. But Kilgore, you got Zane
- 1:12:38Durant, Penn State D tackle goes to them in the fifth round as
- 1:12:42well. They take the punter from
- 1:12:43Florida in the 7th. Great.
- 1:12:45He's one of the best punters in this draft.
- 1:12:47Diamond. You need a great punter, you
- 1:12:49laugh, but you need a great punter in this league.
- 1:12:51He would have been there after he would have been there trust.
- 1:12:55Me you never know they'll they've tried, you know, they
- 1:12:57tried with the punt God and we know that didn't exactly work
- 1:13:00out right for them for reasons that really weren't that kids
- 1:13:03fault, but it didn't really work out.
- 1:13:05Let's see if this kid works out. Dom and I, I the bills just make
- 1:13:10smart moves, Errol. They they make smart moves.
- 1:13:12Beans knows what he's doing. Except when you do this, you got
- 1:13:16it. That's why you have to have a
- 1:13:17lot of picks because you never know with these second or third
- 1:13:20or fourth round picks. You never know like it could be,
- 1:13:23you know, they're really good in college and then like the
- 1:13:25physicality, they just can't match up to it.
- 1:13:28Or maybe they don't love football as much and that's
- 1:13:30that's something that made them drop in the draft.
- 1:13:32You never know what the reason is.
- 1:13:34You just assume that there's a lower rate of success the lower
- 1:13:37you go in the draft. So it's a risky move.
- 1:13:38It's a ballsy move by a guy who says I can scout like a.
- 1:13:42Like a lot of people also liked Zane Durant being drafted in the
- 1:13:46fifth round. Some people on some people
- 1:13:48projected him to be a third round talent.
- 1:13:50Penn State defensive tackle. I, I think he's going to make
- 1:13:53the team too. I, I, I like what the Buffalo
- 1:13:57Bills did. They need to solidify positions.
- 1:14:00There's older players on this team.
- 1:14:01I think they're going to put themselves in a Russo is going
- 1:14:04to move to linebacker. I think eventually he's going to
- 1:14:06go back to pass rush because they need him there.
- 1:14:08You can't switch him as Q was saying, you can't turn him from
- 1:14:12from one position to another later in his career.
- 1:14:14I think Russo, Russo will be back at that defensive,
- 1:14:18defensive end position. But I like everything what the
- 1:14:21Buffalo Bills did. I think they're going to
- 1:14:23solidify certain positions and I think they're going to be there.
- 1:14:25They've they've got a future bean bean Bean knows what he's
- 1:14:29doing. That's all I'm going to say.
- 1:14:30That's it. That's the and that's what we
- 1:14:31need to say. They have a future.
- 1:14:33They didn't, they didn't win the draft.
- 1:14:35They just, you know, plugged in the right pieces and now they
- 1:14:38have a future. But as in regards to immediate
- 1:14:41impact, maybe TJ Parker, but other than that, it's to be
- 1:14:45seen. OK, I remember you said that.
- 1:14:48Don't remember because I mean because they're going to lose 2
- 1:14:50games to The Jets so. You're on drugs.
- 1:14:54You're on drugs. What?
- 1:14:55Is this the sequels? Fish, Do we ever had Collier
- 1:14:58shot sequels? And then then they fired the
- 1:15:00head coach. So you know, everything is in
- 1:15:02rebuild more right now. They're trying.
- 1:15:04To they're not rebuilding, dude. They're not rebuilding.
- 1:15:07They got the best, one of the best quarterbacks in all of the
- 1:15:10NFL and you think they're. Rebuild.
- 1:15:12Yeah, you're crazy. Maybe they're just realistic and
- 1:15:16they know that Josh Allen, without Josh Allen, that's a
- 1:15:19four win team, you know what I mean?
- 1:15:21That's with a lot of teams. Team that's with a lot of teams.
- 1:15:23But I'm saying if the. Jets.
- 1:15:25If The Jets have Josh Allen, The Jets win 1112 games.
- 1:15:28It's a fact. Probably 8:00 and 9:00 with with
- 1:15:31Chino. What?
- 1:15:32Did you say they're not making the playoffs?
- 1:15:35They're not making the playoffs. 8:00 and 9:00 right?
- 1:15:37Just so you know, we know it. I'm just saying the first wild
- 1:15:39party. They're not making the playoffs
- 1:15:418. And nine, yeah, defensive
- 1:15:42specialty that could get us to. They're not making the playoffs
- 1:15:458:00 and 9:00, just so you know. I'm not saying they're going to
- 1:15:48be. I said win 8 or 9 games.
- 1:15:49You know himself can win 8 or 9 games.
- 1:15:51Period. OK, what drugs are you on right
- 1:15:56now? I'm just telling you the truth.
- 1:15:58You want to. You want to.
- 1:15:59I'm a real Jets guy. I'm a real Jets fan.
- 1:16:03I keep real. I got the good one.
- 1:16:06I got the. Good one, I got the good happens
- 1:16:08when we made the path, we made the wild card this.
- 1:16:10Year I'm going to tell you I'm going to tell you you were
- 1:16:12right, but what happens if they don't?
- 1:16:14Which I'm 80% right and I'm going to say I want you to tell
- 1:16:17me Errol, you got the beautiful feet.
- 1:16:19I'm going to kiss him now. I'm.
- 1:16:21Going to kiss your feet? Always take it.
- 1:16:23I'm going to kiss your feet, my friend.
- 1:16:25Be the weird. Listen, what are your I'm going
- 1:16:27to make sure I'm going to make sure that my my foot is nice and
- 1:16:30clean for you. I'm nice and beautiful for.
- 1:16:33You. This is Q, not Britney.
- 1:16:36No, no, no, no, no. Q There's a bigger example of
- 1:16:39that. Errol's friend Danny is the
- 1:16:41ultimate foot lover. That's true, right?
- 1:16:43That's true. Well, I mean you, I mean Rex
- 1:16:45Ryan, you know, New York Jets, like that's a tradition in that
- 1:16:48that part of town. So I get it.
- 1:16:50Yeah. So yeah, yeah, yeah, actually
- 1:16:53got this fetish. Yeah.
- 1:16:54Hey, Speedy, I told you to write down a couple of like
- 1:16:57interesting guys who dropped and maybe got overdrafted.
- 1:17:00This the one that we should talk about is Jermod McCoy, who was
- 1:17:04projected to be a top 15 pick and the medical on his knee
- 1:17:08apparently wasn't very good. He ended up being taken in the
- 1:17:11first pick on day three by the Raiders in the fourth round.
- 1:17:15What were you hearing about him and how surprising is this fall?
- 1:17:18Well, I, I talked to you about this.
- 1:17:19Remind me last year with Will Johnson with the same kind of
- 1:17:22thing. It was my favorite corner in the
- 1:17:23draft and he slid all the way to the second round and McCoy was
- 1:17:26out even longer than that. And there's concern with his
- 1:17:29game as well. He had a good year in 24, but
- 1:17:32it's something where he wasn't a super well-rounded prospect
- 1:17:35where it was going to be a slide.
- 1:17:37If they know those medicals were not going to happen that way,
- 1:17:39the Raiders at that point in the fourth round, they probably
- 1:17:41scouted him in other instances and said, all right, we can wait
- 1:17:43it out a little longer. And I'm sure Tom Brady and on
- 1:17:47Spytech were on the phone with all these other GM's as well.
- 1:17:49So I think it's going to take him a little while to come back.
- 1:17:51I think he'll play well more towards the end of the season,
- 1:17:53but I still think he's raw enough in some areas.
- 1:17:55I couldn't believe he was there. I could not believe he was there
- 1:17:59I fourth round. This guy was a first round
- 1:18:01graded talent because he tore his ACL.
- 1:18:04He's a corner, he's not a wide receiver.
- 1:18:05He's a corner and he's a great corner and he's mean too and he
- 1:18:10plays at a high level. I don't think it's going to make
- 1:18:13a difference. Remember George Pickens?
- 1:18:15That was a wide receiver. He tore his ACL and he fell to
- 1:18:17the second round. How good is George Pickens?
- 1:18:20How good is George Pickens? As good as he could do until I
- 1:18:23keep his. Brain, that's a wide receiver.
- 1:18:25I'm just resting my case. Here, possession receiver, you
- 1:18:27know, Dallas doesn't seem to. He is a great wide receiver.
- 1:18:31Got kicked out of Pittsburgh. They don't value him, they don't
- 1:18:34value him. They.
- 1:18:35Didn't sign him, they gave him extension.
- 1:18:37That's because he's going to get about 40 something, $1,000,000
- 1:18:39well. We'll see.
- 1:18:41Good luck, but yeah, I think the kid should take it as a blessing
- 1:18:45in this guys man. I think now he gets to dictate
- 1:18:48his feature. He go out and ball for one or
- 1:18:50two years. Now he get a big contract
- 1:18:52instead of have to play out that four to three to four year with
- 1:18:55going first to second round. So you know, this is an
- 1:18:58opportunity for him to kind of bounce back and control his
- 1:19:00destiny within his league. So I just said, you know, if he
- 1:19:04listening, just go out there and ball out man and have a have
- 1:19:07yourself a good year or two and then you know, renegotiate your
- 1:19:10contract and get paid early. By the way, Nathan, Nathan, stop
- 1:19:15with this cowboy sign. Marquez Vendis, Scantlin, he who
- 1:19:19cares Guy stinks, please. And Ty Tyler Johnson.
- 1:19:25That's what we're that's what you're selling me with the
- 1:19:27Cowboys a jet lag. Yes, I know all about Tyler
- 1:19:30Johnson garbage. Jeff's boy when he was at with
- 1:19:33the garbage in that one year. Oh, watch out for him.
- 1:19:36He's going to be a Do you want to Drake me off?
- 1:19:38I got to go back off. That's what I will probably do
- 1:19:40when I watch these guys playing a football field.
- 1:19:43Oh, that championship team. So fish on.
- 1:19:45Yeah, that's what I'm going to be doing.
- 1:19:48It's gay, big or devavation fish.
- 1:19:51On TV. I want to switch it here.
- 1:19:52Breaking news glory hole. Oh God.
- 1:19:58Stop it. All right, go ahead.
- 1:19:59I. Was going to mention I want to
- 1:20:01go to the what? I thought that was most of the
- 1:20:03opposite extreme. Was the first, was the first
- 1:20:05pick actually in the second? Mom.
- 1:20:08Dejean Stribling, the receiver for the 49ers.
- 1:20:10I got drafted. I thought that was one of the
- 1:20:11biggest reaches in the draft. I was seeing more like late
- 1:20:14third round pick at most with him.
- 1:20:16We've seen the Niners do this a lot with a lot of these
- 1:20:19unconventional reaches that have worked and some that haven't
- 1:20:21worked. I mean, obviously Debo Samuel
- 1:20:23worked out, but I don't think a lot of people thought he was the
- 1:20:24second round pick. But even before that, you had
- 1:20:26guys like Jalen Hurd and Dante Pettis who went to the Giants
- 1:20:29later. That didn't work out for the
- 1:20:3149ers. They're trying to get too cute
- 1:20:32and a lot of reporters are criticizing him for it.
- 1:20:34Speedy sleeps with endangered animals.
- 1:20:37I I like the Jaguars taking a blocking tight end.
- 1:20:41Yeah, that was a weird one too. I like the rest of their draft
- 1:20:43besides that. That was a weird 1 SO.
- 1:20:46That was weird, we saw that pick in the first round during the
- 1:20:49draft party. I think the Titans traded up to
- 1:20:52take like the 4th best guard on the.
- 1:20:54Rutledge, I think his name was. Rutledge yeah, from like and
- 1:20:58that, that or the Texans, that's what it was.
- 1:21:00And those were some curious picks.
- 1:21:02The 49ers, like you said, speedy.
- 1:21:04A team that trades out of the first round.
- 1:21:06I thought they had very good drafts there, 49ers, but.
- 1:21:09But again, it's like you think you know better, you're so smart
- 1:21:13and then you're too smart for your own good because these guys
- 1:21:15aren't good. You just don't.
- 1:21:16You're just grading different than everybody that this Sean
- 1:21:18Stribling pick that if that's all they.
- 1:21:20Squeeze the cheese. Out of the first two rounds of
- 1:21:23this draft. That's embarrassing.
- 1:21:24A lot of people were saying they they took the Indiana running
- 1:21:27back circle jerk too in the middle third round as well.
- 1:21:31Suck my indo. Definitely rated one of the
- 1:21:34lowest, but you know, Errol, that is the draft they add.
- 1:21:38That's why they play the games. We'll see just how good the
- 1:21:41Giants are and how, you know, marginally.
- 1:21:44Of course, of course he had to add, he had to add that, but
- 1:21:48that's. Or she and Beyoncé loved it.
- 1:21:50The guy shot wouldn't put it up. The Eagles was a crazy one, too.
- 1:21:53I I I mean to add that to the office time.
- 1:21:56But I think the craziest thing that happened in the draft, the
- 1:21:59craziest thing that happened in the draft is Malachi Lemon was
- 1:22:02talking to Pittsburgh's GM and then all of a sudden,
- 1:22:05Philadelphia, the GM of Philadelphia, Roseman reached
- 1:22:09out and said that, you know, reached out to him and and gave
- 1:22:12him a call to say we're drafting you here.
- 1:22:14That was embarrassing. That was embarrassing from
- 1:22:16Pittsburgh. That was that was the same Omar
- 1:22:17Khan that got a contract extension.
- 1:22:20Absolutely embarrassing. I I, I, I think Pittsburgh
- 1:22:23should be ashamed of. Himself, but you can't do
- 1:22:25nothing about it. I know you're a Pittsburgh fan,
- 1:22:27so you're. Going to we definitely I think
- 1:22:28they. Had a good offseason.
- 1:22:29Besides that though, Q The Steelers free agency I thought
- 1:22:33was good though, Like they. Had a good yeah, yeah, yeah, for
- 1:22:35sure, yeah, we locked in, yeah. We locked, well, I don't know if
- 1:22:37they're locked in. They don't have a quarterback
- 1:22:39yet, so. Yep.
- 1:22:40And Rogers will be our quarterback.
- 1:22:41Now they got to worry about Dexter.
- 1:22:42Everybody knows. Everybody knows that Aaron
- 1:22:44Rodgers will be the quarterback. We know this.
- 1:22:46Hopefully, hopefully he could find his way, find his way back
- 1:22:50through. The way towards the end of
- 1:22:52towards training camp, he will find his way.
- 1:22:55Good. I'll, I'll go over there and
- 1:22:57smoke a joint with him. Let's do it all right?
- 1:22:59You can you can hang out with his his his hand, his
- 1:23:02girlfriend. Yeah, Miss Brittany as he says
- 1:23:04his. Wife, he's good.
