  Speaker 1: you understand that? I'm telling you, God been big in

  Speaker 1: my life. I'm not going to kid you. I'm telling you,

  Speaker 1: and he'll do the same thing for you. God is

  Speaker 1: a gentleman, you know. I want to point that out

  Speaker 1: to you. God is an absolute gentleman. He will not

  Speaker 1: come in unless he's invited. He don't just barge into

  Speaker 1: your life. He gives us the power of choice. You know,

  Speaker 1: if you say you got it, I don't need you.

  Speaker 1: He lets you have it. If you say I need you,

  Speaker 1: come see about me. He right there. It's just a

  Speaker 1: real simple thing, man. So always say to people this.

  Speaker 1: If you've gotten yourself into something, and please know I have,

  Speaker 1: I was stuck. I thought a couple of times, well,

  Speaker 1: might not make it past this one. But then if

  Speaker 1: I don't make it past it, what's going to happen?

  Speaker 1: And then I held on to this little thing that
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: my mother kept talking to me about. She said, sometimes, son,
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: when you ain't got nothing else in you, just hope.

  Speaker 1: She said, just hope it'll be all right. You know,
• 1:31
  Speaker 1: and what I've learned in my life is that hope
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: is the beginning of faith. Hope is just, is there
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: a possibility out there for me? I sure hope something happened. See, hope,
• 1:48
  Speaker 1: hope is okay, man. Because like I say, for me,
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: the way I've lived my life, hope was the beginning
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: of faith. It was just the idea that, It's just
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: a thought that something could change for me, that something
• 2:01
  Speaker 1: could be a little bit different for me, that maybe, man,
• 2:05
  Speaker 1: just maybe for some reason I could be saved. I
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: could be rescued. Things could turn around. It could head
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: in the other direction. Maybe I could quit messing up.
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: Maybe somebody will forgive me. Maybe somebody will just say,
• 2:21
  Speaker 1: all right, I don't know. But I can't count the
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: times I've been in that position. But then once I
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: hope a little bit, and then I remember also my
• 2:30
  Speaker 1: mother because she was a Sunday school teacher. She taught
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: me the most valuable lesson I've ever learned in my life.
• 2:37
  Speaker 1: Nothing has been greater in my life than my faith.
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: She taught me to pray. Mama used to say, when
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: it get real dark for you, son, Prayer changes things.
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: She said, when you seem like you lost and you
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: can't find your way, stop and pray. She said, because
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: prayer changes things. You know, when you get a point
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: in your life when you've done all you can do
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: and you can't do no more and you just don't
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: know what to do next. She said, stop, son, pray.
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: And combine that prayer with that hope that you got.
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: She said, because that hope is the beginning of faith.

  Speaker 1: She said, if you pray just hoping, she said, a
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: God come through for you. That'll give you confidence that
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: he can do it again. And then after a while,
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: you quit hoping. She's saying you start believing. She said,
• 3:27
  Speaker 1: and that's when you're on to something. If you can
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: turn that hope into belief, that hope into faith, the
• 3:35
  Speaker 1: ability to believe in something that you can't see. But
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: the key, though, to faith is you're believing in something
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: that you can't see. See, hoping a little bit different
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: for me. Now, I'm pretty sure, like I say, oftentimes
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: I tell a lot of people who can explain this
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: thing a lot better than I can to you. But
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: just from my side of it, being as real as
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: I can be with you. See, hope helps, man. If
• 4:00
  Speaker 1: you ain't strong enough to have faith, have hope. And
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: then if you pray with some hope and God answers
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: your prayer, then that hope gains a little confidence. And
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: after a while, that confidence becomes faith. Not a just hoping,
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: but I'm believing I'm believing is something that I cannot see.
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: Faith has been the key to my entire existence. Even
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: when I didn't have any, it was faith. As I
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: look back on it, that has gotten me here and
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: not just faith, but my faith. See, you will only
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: get to where you're going in your life. Based on
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: your faith. See, a lot of people get the word
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: faith confused. Like, what's your faith? And then they start
• 4:51
  Speaker 1: going down this whole list of all these different religions
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: out here. But really, in essence, man, when I talk
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: to people about faith, I'm talking to you about your,
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: your belief. How much do you believe in the unseen?
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: How much do you believe in the things you can't see?
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: How much do you believe in the impossible? How much
• 5:15
  Speaker 1: do you believe? See, because faith is the belief in
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: things that you cannot see. Faith is the core of
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: all that is happening to me today. It is the
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: faith that I have in my relationship with God that
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: enables me to just oftentimes believe. If I stay on
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: the right course and believe a certain way and act
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: a certain way, his blessings just pour. They just come.
• 5:50
  Speaker 1: And it comes in a lot of little ways, too.
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: I've started to notice. See, it ain't just a lot
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: of people think blessings is money. No, man, that ain't it.
• 5:58
  Speaker 1: It's coverage. It's every time my plane lands safe. It's
• 6:04
  Speaker 1: every time they predict bad weather and I get up
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: in the sky and it don't be no bad weather.
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: You know, this is favor. These are blessings that get
• 6:14
  Speaker 1: poured out to me. Somebody call me and offer me something.
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: Not money, but an opportunity. You know, somebody say, hey, man,
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: I don't know, but I sent this to you. I
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: thought you might be interested in it. Somebody send me
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: a scripture or somebody send me something. That's favor. And
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: it always comes at a time when I need it
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: the most. That's favor. That's pouring out blessings. Now, I'm
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: also the recipient of a lot of other blessings too.
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: You know, I've been blessed with health. That's amazing blessing, man.
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: I've been blessed with a spirit of not quitting. I've
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: been blessed with the ability to shoulder huge amounts of responsibility. See,
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: blessings come a lot of ways. But once you tie
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: into God, once you tie in and you start doing
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: the best you can do and you start asking for
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: him to make you a better person, to help shape
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: and mold you into the kind of man or person
• 7:20
  Speaker 1: that he wants you to be. You'd be amazed what
• 7:23
  Speaker 1: God can do with you, man, if you just invite
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: him in and allow him to be a part of
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: your life. I mean, what you got to lose out there?

  Speaker 1: Come on. If you're sitting in the cell this morning,
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: why would you not change? You have a chance to
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: turn your life around with a relationship with God. What
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: you waiting on? Are you going to just keep doing
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: it like that, huh? Really? Come on, man. Why would
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: you do that to yourself? Why would you not allow
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: God to be a part of your life? So you
• 7:52
  Speaker 1: can get to where he wants you to be. God
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: got some big plans for you. If he didn't, you
• 7:56
