- 2:15Speaker 1: got Chef in the back. You got Deke in the back.
- 2:17Speaker 1: The boys are all here. Sherm is drinking out of
- 2:21Speaker 1: a bucket.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Right now Double bucket Double bucket Gotta get my H2O
- 2:28Speaker 2: in I've been off the caffeine for almost a month
- 2:30Speaker 2: now Really?
- 2:32Speaker 1: I did not know that Almost a month now Off
- 2:35Speaker 1: the caffeine? As I'm over here just with the heavy
- 2:39Speaker 1: Running on Dunkin.
- 2:41Speaker 2: And I do want to put out there That doesn't
- 2:43Speaker 2: mean that Sherm doesn't run on Dunkin' I get my
- 2:46Speaker 2: decaf in baby But I've been.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Doing straight decaf. What's the reasoning behind it? Dude, honestly.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Tell us why. Break it down.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I'll break it down. Right when I started flag, my
- 2:58Speaker 2: very first, because we did like four practices before the
- 3:01Speaker 2: season even started. I went out to that very first practice,
- 3:05Speaker 2: and that same feeling I had when we did the
- 3:08Speaker 2: penalty kick competition, right quad, locked up. And peed that night,
- 3:15Speaker 2: and it smelled like just a cup of coffee when
- 3:18Speaker 2: I peed. I mean, just yellow.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So your hydration was basically coffee. Basically.
- 3:24Speaker 2: And just analyzing the way that I was running through life.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Coffee was not the problem. It was the way that
- 3:32Speaker 2: I was abusing caffeine.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Your relationship with caffeine was the problem. Yes, sir.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And so sleep was terrible.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 2: A lot of anxiety from how much caffeine I was
- 3:44Speaker 2: taking in because I was just running purely on caffeine.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I did it because of the muscular stuff. After a week,
- 3:52Speaker 2: I felt way, way better at the flag football practices.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Then I'm sprinting. I'm running full speed. I'm not having
- 4:00Speaker 2: to stretch as much. My soreness after. And I'm like, man,
- 4:04Speaker 2: this is great. I'm also sleeping really well now.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Maybe I need a little.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Break from caffeine so that I can learn my relationship
- 4:14Speaker 2: with it, come back to it, obviously, because I do
- 4:17Speaker 2: love it, but to a point where I'm not abusing it.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I'm not leaning on it in order to function day
- 4:24Speaker 2: to day.
- 4:25Speaker 1: But you're four weeks sober right now. It may be
- 4:28Speaker 1: even more than that. How's the mental clarity been? Like
- 4:32Speaker 1: you were talking about anxiety and everything else. That has
- 4:34Speaker 1: nothing to do with the muscles.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Brother, like crazy. Like crazy, honestly. And something that my
- 4:43Speaker 2: wife and I really struggled with on the weekends was
- 4:46Speaker 2: my energy on the weekends because I wouldn't drink coffee
- 4:49Speaker 2: because I would want to sleep and be able to
- 4:52Speaker 2: like take a nap if we had time to take
- 4:54Speaker 2: a nap or whatever. And my body was having these
- 4:58Speaker 2: full on crashes over the weekend because I wouldn't be
- 5:01Speaker 2: drinking caffeine. And so I would, one, be awful to
- 5:05Speaker 2: hang out with, be a terrible hang. I would have
- 5:08Speaker 2: to like power through stuff. And now it's just like
- 5:12Speaker 2: I'm so even keeled and like my energy on the
- 5:15Speaker 2: weekends is crazy different, dude.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Like.
- 5:19Speaker 2: As far as getting up, getting after it every single day,
- 5:23Speaker 2: it's been very life-changing.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It's been really cool. Good for you, man. Yeah. Some
- 5:27Speaker 1: Papa Team Fit.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Some Papa Team Fit.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I want to say that there was a comment I
- 5:30Speaker 1: saw people want to check in on running the 400. Yes, dude.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Which I would say, stay tuned. I feel good about
- 5:43Speaker 2: it in a weird way, but I don't want to speak.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Um too soon because i know it is a high
- 5:49Speaker 2: bar to hit but like i feel very good going
- 5:52Speaker 2: into it if you listen.
- 5:53Speaker 1: You were on the brandon spikes interview with busson yesterday
- 5:57Speaker 1: oh yeah he's talking about that confidence then when you
- 6:00Speaker 1: say it there's no you know you put yourself out
- 6:02Speaker 1: there it feels like you might have a little fear
- 6:04Speaker 1: going on by being like i feel good you don't
- 6:06Speaker 1: want to dominate the vision yet because maybe a part
- 6:09Speaker 1: of you is kind of holding back of like Because
- 6:11Speaker 1: I don't know if I'll do it. I don't know
- 6:13Speaker 1: if I'll get there. I really do like that. Because
- 6:16Speaker 1: you kind of burn the boats.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yes. In order to burn the boats, I'm fully capable
- 6:21Speaker 2: of doing this. And I will do it. I'm trying
- 6:27Speaker 2: to think what else to say.
- 6:28Speaker 1: No, you just got to say it's, hey, glad my
- 6:31Speaker 1: man checked in. I feel good about where I'm at.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm hitting a little bit of momentum. I am going
- 6:37Speaker 1: to run. 59 seconds in the 400 by the end
- 6:40Speaker 1: of the year god that's crazy then you gotta you
- 6:43Speaker 1: burn the boats you gotta lock it you gotta start
- 6:45Speaker 1: you gotta start training a little bit for it yeah
- 6:47Speaker 1: yeah and in a in a spot too where like
- 6:52Speaker 1: yeah i feel good i'm excited okay i'm excited okay
- 6:55Speaker 1: we got some follow-ups we got some to start with
- 6:57Speaker 1: the uh follow-ups some vlog comments right here ultra lags
- 7:01Speaker 1: 99.75 On YouTube, mark my words, Willie C, Nebraska will
- 7:06Speaker 1: make it to the playoffs next year due to Rue
- 7:08Speaker 1: getting to go to her first game. Ooh, wait, she's
- 7:11Speaker 1: never been? Rue has not been yet, no, no.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I did not know that.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Because every game that I've been to, say over the
- 7:18Speaker 1: last four years, it's been me going with Bussin'. It
- 7:21Speaker 1: hasn't been me just like going to a game or
- 7:23Speaker 1: enjoying it. Oh my God. And I don't feel like,
- 7:26Speaker 1: like Rue's been to a Titans game.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yep.
- 7:28Speaker 1: She's been to a Tennessee Volunteers game.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Vandy?
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, with the little headphones on when she was smaller. Vandy, yeah,
- 7:36Speaker 1: she's been to a Vandy game, which Vandy games are
- 7:38Speaker 1: fun too, but she hasn't seen the Huskers yet.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Part of me feels like next year is the year
- 7:44Speaker 2: I'm going to take my daughter to where I want
- 7:46Speaker 2: her to experience the game. Yes. She's at a great
- 7:50Speaker 2: age for it, to your point. Can I ask a
- 7:51Speaker 2: quick question about that? Yeah. After seeing you in Lincoln
- 7:57Speaker 2: and the world that like when you go there, there
- 7:59Speaker 2: is a swarm. It's an awesome thing to watch. Is
- 8:02Speaker 2: there like, do you have a plan in place of like, Hey,
- 8:05Speaker 2: I would you be on field with all the chaos?
- 8:08Speaker 1: Are you thinking like a.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Way that you can see it where you can just
- 8:11Speaker 5: focus on her? Cause I was thinking about it. I'm like,
- 8:14Speaker 5: If you do bring Rue, it's a crazy scene when
- 8:16Speaker 5: you show up and that's an awesome thing. But yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 5: I was thinking about that.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I, yeah, I've thought about that as well. It's like,
- 8:21Speaker 1: we're just going to have to prepare to prepare. Cause
- 8:24Speaker 1: I don't think we'll be on, I don't think we'll
- 8:26Speaker 1: just go sideline. Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 2: We definitely won't go sideline the whole game. The sideline
- 8:29Speaker 2: is a fucking chaos, which it's fun, but.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Part of me feels like if, if, if people see
- 8:35Speaker 1: me with Rue though, like they'll, I would assume people
- 8:38Speaker 1: be like, Oh, he's got his daughter too. You know,
- 8:40Speaker 1: he's standing there with his daughter. Maybe they won't come
- 8:44Speaker 1: up as much.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Can I say something to that point? Rue's entire perception
- 8:48Speaker 2: of her dad not having enough friends for his birthday
- 8:51Speaker 2: party will be shattered at her first Nebraska game.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Yeah, because I'll probably hit a situation because I was
- 8:59Speaker 1: talking to the AD, Troy Dana, shout out Troy Dana,
- 9:01Speaker 1: but he was like, oh, we can get the family,
- 9:02Speaker 1: we can get you guys up in the suite.
- 9:05Speaker 2: No way.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, which that would be the key. And then if
- 9:09Speaker 1: having char too like i would like to bring.
- 9:11Speaker 6: The the whole thing yeah yeah that's how he won't
- 9:14Speaker 6: know she won't understand it yet i feel like rude
- 9:16Speaker 6: next year at five years old she'll get to start
- 9:18Speaker 6: understanding she.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Gets the concept of like standing there with crowds cheering
- 9:26Speaker 4: yeah she gets it i can already see char with
- 9:28Speaker 4: their hands on on her hips and scotty just standing
- 9:32Speaker 4: up there in the sweet look he's in the gladiator
- 9:34Speaker 4: dome right now just looking around going these are my
- 9:37Speaker 4: people all the balloons releasing at once.
- 9:40Speaker 1: She's going to think that she did that. Just lift
- 9:43Speaker 1: her hands up.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I was telling Charles, like I love when that can
- 9:48Speaker 1: be like that to me is like the, the, the
- 9:50Speaker 1: father daughter tradition of like, I take the girls to
- 9:53Speaker 1: a game every year. we will do we know what
- 9:56Speaker 1: charo's level of nebraska love is i don't know if
- 9:59Speaker 1: i've ever asked you that of like does she i
- 10:01Speaker 1: know she probably understands who you are and your sickoness
- 10:04Speaker 1: what's her sentiment towards nebraska i think she wants nebraska
- 10:08Speaker 1: to win because she knows how much it means to
- 10:10Speaker 1: me you know what i mean it's not like she's
- 10:12Speaker 1: like a die-hard husker fan now part of me it's
- 10:16Speaker 1: like same with Like Charles only been to a spring game.
- 10:18Speaker 1: She hasn't been to a game day atmosphere because I've
- 10:20Speaker 1: always went on behalf of like busing. So it's like,
- 10:23Speaker 1: I get the family out there and I get Charles
- 10:25Speaker 1: around it. I can start to flip Charles a little bit.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Like she, she roots for Nebraska. She's all, she knows it's,
- 10:33Speaker 1: she called me the other night when it was two,
- 10:34Speaker 1: two in the morning or one 30 in the morning.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Cause she thought I fell asleep on the couch. Cause
- 10:38Speaker 1: I told her I'd probably be in bed. Cause she
- 10:40Speaker 1: went to bed at 10. It's like, I got to
- 10:42Speaker 1: stay up. Huskers are about to play Foxhole Foxhole. Hopefully
- 10:44Speaker 1: we get up by a couple of scores and then
- 10:46Speaker 1: I can, you know, I can go to bed in
- 10:48Speaker 1: the second half. There wasn't no going to bed in
- 10:50Speaker 1: the second half. Like it was a seven Oh ball
- 10:52Speaker 1: game at halftime.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:53Speaker 1: So she calls me at like one 30 right when
- 10:56Speaker 1: Rayola threw the touchdown to win the game. And you know,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm just like, she's like, I was just making sure
- 11:03Speaker 1: that you were, you didn't fall asleep on the couch.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm still up. We just lost the game. Hi honey.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:08Speaker 1: We just lost the game. My life's over. Yes. I'll
- 11:11Speaker 1: be in bed soon. Yeah. We'll get there though. It's,
- 11:17Speaker 1: We'll get there.
- 11:18Speaker 5: If it gives you, like, I don't know what her
- 11:20Speaker 5: level is. My mom didn't care for most of my
- 11:22Speaker 5: life until, like, the last five years. And now my
- 11:24Speaker 5: mom texts. If Tennessee's playing, we're not having a good game.
- 11:26Speaker 5: Most of the texts in my family group chat is
- 11:28Speaker 5: from my mom.
- 11:29Speaker 2: It's, like, flipped.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Like, in something where my mom couldn't care less. She
- 11:33Speaker 5: went to SIU. Go Salukis.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Go Salukis.
- 11:37Speaker 2: But now she's, like, I mean, she's all in. She's
- 11:39Speaker 2: bought into the max.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Charles will be bought in. Once I get him to
- 11:42Speaker 1: a game. Once I get him all to a game.
- 11:45Speaker 1: And the relationships, the connections, like the wives, the AD
- 11:51Speaker 1: getting around the people that are just going to show
- 11:54Speaker 1: her a great time and love on her. She's going
- 11:56Speaker 1: to bleed Husker Red.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Come on.
- 11:59Speaker 1: We might have to expedite. Nebraska will make it to
- 12:02Speaker 1: the playoffs when Rugo's her first game. If we are
- 12:05Speaker 1: in a win-and-get-in game against Iowa at the end of
- 12:07Speaker 1: the year, maybe we expedite.
- 12:09Speaker 2: She got a jersey.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Maybe we expedite. Maybe we expedite and get out to
- 12:13Speaker 1: the Iowa game this year. Come on, man. I'm going
- 12:14Speaker 1: to get the For the Dads Huskers jersey, but I'm
- 12:16Speaker 1: glad he's gone.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I'm glad he's gone. We have some more vlog comments here.
- 12:21Speaker 2: We have Cy Bullerman. Cy Bullerman says, wanted to give
- 12:26Speaker 2: a shout out to Will and Chef. Got a picture
- 12:29Speaker 2: with them at the live show in Nebraska. Also had
- 12:34Speaker 2: a nice convo with Chef during the live show that
- 12:36Speaker 2: I really appreciated. He could have just walked away from me,
- 12:39Speaker 2: but he took time out of his busy day, and
- 12:42Speaker 2: I really appreciated it. Keep up the good work, boys.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Not a dad yet, but I'm getting married on December
- 12:49Speaker 2: 19th and will be deployed into Bud's ASAP. Congrats on
- 12:53Speaker 2: the baby boy, Will. Sherm, next trip to Lincoln, you
- 12:56Speaker 2: need to come bring the fam.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Hey, big, big applause to this guy right here. Were people,
- 13:05Speaker 2: did they take us up on what we said last episode?
- 13:07Speaker 2: Have you got to ask Chef for picks?
- 13:10Speaker 5: There were so many people that came up to me.
- 13:12Speaker 5: And it's such an odd, like for me, it's such
- 13:14Speaker 5: an odd feeling. I had people shout out. I forgot
- 13:17Speaker 5: his name, but it's the, it's the, I want to say,
- 13:21Speaker 5: and this might be just so off and I apologize
- 13:23Speaker 5: to any military people for the color guard, the master
- 13:26Speaker 5: at arms, the person who's directing the color guard to
- 13:29Speaker 5: go out to the field.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Oh yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 1: By the gates.
- 13:31Speaker 5: You know, I'm sitting there in the, on the field
- 13:34Speaker 5: and all of a sudden I hear chef and I
- 13:36Speaker 5: look over, it's a guy in uniform and I started
- 13:39Speaker 5: talking to him.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. I forgot your name. I'm blanking. But
- 13:42Speaker 2: we were just kind of, you know, shooting the shit.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I didn't realize what he was doing.
- 13:45Speaker 5: He was like, yeah, I'm about to go out there
- 13:47Speaker 5: and direct, like, the color guard for the national anthem in, like,
- 13:49Speaker 5: five minutes.
- 13:49Speaker 1: The color guard.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Which was just sick.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Fired up to see Chef Dad.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Then three minutes later, I see him walking out there.
- 13:56Speaker 5: And he's like, just, this guy was the coolest dude ever. He's, like,
- 13:59Speaker 5: so chill and stuff. And I'm watching him do the direction.
- 14:01Speaker 5: He just turns into that full, like, military style where
- 14:04Speaker 5: he was like, ah! And I was like, oh, shit.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Gets into that mode. I got one here from 66 Soriano.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Why did you add olive oil to warm up and
- 14:15Speaker 1: heat up the tortilla? Hey, I saw that comment.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And I had question marks because I was like, that
- 14:23Speaker 2: seems pretty normal. Like I had question marks on his comments.
- 14:27Speaker 2: So I just want to put that out there. I
- 14:30Speaker 2: didn't for a second think that that was weird.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I guess if I had a thought, because he wrote that,
- 14:35Speaker 1: I'm thinking, well, yeah, I mean, I just seen like
- 14:37Speaker 1: whether it's my wife or whoever's made the, the quesadilla,
- 14:41Speaker 1: the pepinoni quesadilla that we make, my pushback would be
- 14:47Speaker 1: it makes the tortilla a little bit bendable.
- 14:49Speaker 2: More fluid. It's a neutral oil. There's nothing wrong with it.
- 14:54Speaker 1: That's very normal.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Some people might use butter just to give it a
- 14:57Speaker 2: little flavor.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Talk to them, chef. Like your chef.
- 14:59Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong with olive oil, canola oil, vegetable oil.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Those are all neutral oils.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:03Speaker 2: They're all normal for that use. And yeah, there's nothing
- 15:05Speaker 2: wrong with that.
- 15:06Speaker 1: And if you have nothing, it could potentially dry it out, right?
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, so there's two different.
- 15:10Speaker 5: With the quesadilla, you can either go dry, which I
- 15:13Speaker 5: do sometimes, and it gives that crit a real taste to,
- 15:16Speaker 5: or you can heat it up with an oil, which
- 15:18Speaker 5: any kind of oil... You could use tallow if you
- 15:21Speaker 5: wanted to. It doesn't really matter.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It does not matter. Okay.
- 15:23Speaker 7: All right. Good, good.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I hope your question was answered, Soriano. Yeah, Soriano.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I'll sit here and defend Will and say that that
- 15:30Speaker 2: might be the most normal thing that I have seen.
- 15:33Speaker 1: But maybe that's him laughing at us, at the American culture,
- 15:37Speaker 1: because Soriano, he looks like he comes from a Hispanic descent,
- 15:41Speaker 1: and he could be trying to put us on some game.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Which then he may lean into the canola or butter
- 15:46Speaker 1: world is where he's coming from of like, you're doing
- 15:49Speaker 1: olive oil.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Like you need some canola oil or some butter.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, but you know, whatever floats your boat, whatever
- 15:57Speaker 2: gets your tortilla hot, your chili hot. Billy V3 on
- 16:01Speaker 2: YouTube said, this was amazing content. Please keep doing these.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I need a day in the life of Sherm. Also,
- 16:08Speaker 2: that NFL game day shout out was awesome. I used
- 16:12Speaker 2: to love playing those with my dad and brother on PS1.
- 16:17Speaker 1: From follow-ups last week, can we get a day in
- 16:20Speaker 1: the life of Sherman Young? Please. Stop. Please. Stop it.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Twist my arm. That would be very fun. I would
- 16:29Speaker 2: be very down for that.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Next time you send Chef out with Will, I'll come
- 16:33Speaker 4: spend the night at your house and do a day
- 16:35Speaker 4: in the life of Sherman, and we can see the juxtaposition.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I wrapped my brain because this morning for our team meeting,
- 16:45Speaker 2: I just went through the comments of the vlog, and
- 16:47Speaker 2: I saw those two, and I thought to myself, oh, man, well,
- 16:50Speaker 2: we got to get something fun for me to do
- 16:52Speaker 2: or else.
- 16:53Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no. What's good? Or we just
- 16:57Speaker 1: lean into the normal. Even the opening when it's like
- 16:59Speaker 1: we're in the garage.
- 17:00Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Just like the tired voice. I was telling Chef too,
- 17:04Speaker 1: something that, not that we've gotten away from on bussing
- 17:07Speaker 1: or whatnot, but early in bussing, it's like I'd have
- 17:09Speaker 1: the DJI ripping around and you're kind of doing like
- 17:11Speaker 1: a personalized vlog style where it is quieter. It is
- 17:15Speaker 1: a little bit more boring.
- 17:16Speaker 5: The idea behind it that we talked about was just,
- 17:19Speaker 5: I wanted to just follow you around for a full
- 17:21Speaker 5: day because those Fridays are nuts. They're chaos. And there's
- 17:23Speaker 5: more emphasis on the Friday. But that's kind of when
- 17:26Speaker 5: I was editing it. I'm like, I just want people
- 17:27Speaker 5: to see Will's a character to begin with. And it's like,
- 17:30Speaker 5: let's see his day to day. We could go to Waco,
- 17:33Speaker 5: go watch a game.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind just a casual Saturday. I wouldn't mind.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I was trying to just rack my brain on
- 17:42Speaker 2: stuff coming up. That's what I'm saying. My parents at
- 17:51Speaker 2: least being there or Jill's mom being there to assist
- 17:55Speaker 2: with stuff. Creating a dynamic and having other characters. Playing
- 18:00Speaker 2: a little pumpkin patch.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Day and we go do this. Keep it small and simple.
- 18:09Speaker 1: We'll look into it. I have some follow-ups here that
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm going to rip through. We got Courtney Eltermann. On Spotify. Chef,
- 18:17Speaker 1: I talk smack. I'm glad you delivered on dinner. I
- 18:20Speaker 1: got one here from Cody Blaylack. Ah, so we're getting
- 18:24Speaker 1: a vlog to combat the podcasting isn't a job allegation.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Laughing face.
- 18:29Speaker 2: That was a great comment.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And then one here from Cole Owen on Spotify. You
- 18:33Speaker 1: guys are telling me that Charles was planning an A-plus
- 18:36Speaker 1: dinner party while going through IVF? Buddy, we did the
- 18:42Speaker 1: math on that too.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Chili bean. And thought the same thing.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Oh, really? Yeah. Dude, yes.
- 18:50Speaker 2: We're like kudos on Charo.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Charo is happy that we finally get to tell
- 18:53Speaker 1: people because she's just... I was talking about it either
- 18:55Speaker 1: on last week's episode or the... Oh, yeah, last week's
- 18:58Speaker 1: episode because that's when we talked about how we're expecting
- 19:01Speaker 1: a boy. But I know she feels... relieved that we're
- 19:04Speaker 1: finally getting to tell people just cause she's been just
- 19:07Speaker 1: a watered down she's felt like a very watered down
- 19:10Speaker 1: low version of herself but yeah she was operating that
- 19:13Speaker 1: while throwing a dinner party Scotty needing mom constantly Scotty
- 19:18Speaker 1: is in that she's about to be two she is
- 19:21Speaker 1: glued needs mom is the safety place so with the
- 19:25Speaker 1: kiddos being tied to her like Rue's only four so
- 19:27Speaker 1: Rue she's got her emotional stuff going on but Scotty
- 19:31Speaker 1: needing mom a lot Her just being on the couch
- 19:33Speaker 1: and being kind of a shell of herself, operating her
- 19:35Speaker 1: business while going through all this stuff, having to get
- 19:38Speaker 1: subs for classes that she teaches on days where she
- 19:41Speaker 1: is really low. I know she feels like a weight.
- 19:44Speaker 1: She's starting to feel a little bit better, but a
- 19:47Speaker 1: weight kind of off of her shoulders that we've gotten
- 19:49Speaker 1: to tell people. Cause I know like, she's just very,
- 19:52Speaker 1: she's just one of those gals, one of those people
- 19:54Speaker 1: that are like just very hard on themselves when they
- 19:57Speaker 1: feel like they don't deliver. You know what I mean?
- 20:00Speaker 1: That makes sense. To their standard. Yes. All the time.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah, she wants to operate at the highest level possible.
- 20:06Speaker 2: She has something going on with her body that doesn't
- 20:08Speaker 2: allow her to do that. And not everybody is privy
- 20:12Speaker 2: to it. That's a rock and a hard place.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Absolutely. And then all the emotional angle going through pregnancy
- 20:19Speaker 1: and everything else. She's somebody who's very tough on herself.
- 20:23Speaker 1: She's tough on herself before she gives herself grace.
- 20:26Speaker 2: That makes sense. A hand up right there as well.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Yes.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Understandable. Evergill 84. And I'll fly through these as well.
- 20:36Speaker 2: These are follow-ups. Such a big fan of Trey's. and
- 20:39Speaker 2: his podcast, so always fun to see him as a
- 20:41Speaker 2: guest on someone else's podcast. Very entertaining interview, and love
- 20:45Speaker 2: that Jake got a shout-out, too. Waylon Ransom said, Powderpuff
- 20:50Speaker 2: Football Year 2, boys, it's Waylon Ransom with the Astat
- 20:54Speaker 2: back again, coaching my daughter's Powderpuff game. This year, we
- 20:58Speaker 2: are the underdogs.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Good.
- 21:00Speaker 2: We only have four practices leading up to game day. Good.
- 21:03Speaker 2: This year, we're running the wing tee offense, some real
- 21:06Speaker 2: old school smash mouth football. First play is called Kobe Bryant.
- 21:10Speaker 2: For reference, look up Kobe Bryant Olympics versus Paul Gasol.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I hate that I know who Paul Gasol is, and
- 21:23Speaker 2: reading that, I just butchered that. You know the clip.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yes.
- 21:27Speaker 2: From the documentary. Dude, that was harsh. Wanting to get
- 21:31Speaker 2: that name right and getting it wrong like four different times.
- 21:36Speaker 7: I am so fucking.
- 21:40Speaker 1: That was awesome.
- 21:41Speaker 7: Fucking hell. That was awesome.
- 21:49Speaker 1: When he came at me, bro. You were checking for
- 21:53Speaker 1: the doors? Like the static in my body was like...
- 21:55Speaker 1: That was awesome. Oh, no.
- 22:00Speaker 7: Chef jumped so much. Oh, no.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Guys, PT Sickos, you know them. You love them.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It's a little loosey.
- 22:11Speaker 2: We got Lucy right here, a little 12 milligram espresso.
- 22:16Speaker 2: We got Breakers right there on Willie C's side of
- 22:19Speaker 2: the set. You guys know I am a high milligram
- 22:23Speaker 2: kind of guy. And when I got to go high milligram,
- 22:26Speaker 2: I got to go Lucy. When I need to lock in,
- 22:28Speaker 2: I lock in with a Lucy. It's my favorite nicotine
- 22:32Speaker 2: pouch out there. It is a brand that not only
- 22:37Speaker 2: has partnered with our company, but has really come alongside
- 22:40Speaker 2: our company to make sure that we are not only
- 22:42Speaker 2: getting their products, but getting our favorite of their products.
- 22:46Speaker 2: They send us all kinds of flavors. They send us
- 22:49Speaker 2: all kinds of different product, whether it's their breaker product
- 22:53Speaker 2: with the flavor pouch that is inside the flavor bead
- 22:57Speaker 2: that's inside of the pouch that you can actually break
- 22:59Speaker 2: with your teeth to get a nice little extra flavor.
- 23:02Speaker 2: rush of flavor during your usage or if it's just
- 23:06Speaker 2: your regular nicotine pouch without the flavor blast they send
- 23:12Speaker 2: us it all they take care of us i know
- 23:14Speaker 2: that they are always taking care of their customer and
- 23:18Speaker 2: just to prove that lucy is the only pouch that
- 23:21Speaker 2: delivers long-lasting on-demand flavor they're giving you 20 off your
- 23:25Speaker 2: first order when you buy online at lucy.co forward slash
- 23:31Speaker 2: FTD with code FTD. So that's Lucy.co FTD with code FTD.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And here comes the fine print. Lucy products are only
- 23:44Speaker 2: for adults of legal age and every customer is age verified. Warning,
- 23:48Speaker 2: this product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. All right,
- 23:53Speaker 2: PT Sickos, we got to give a shout out to
- 23:56Speaker 2: our guys at Gravely. If you've got a lawn, a property,
- 24:00Speaker 2: or you're out there mowing for a living, you need
- 24:01Speaker 2: to know about these guys. Gravely's been building mowers since 1916.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Over 100 years shaping the American landscape. Still family owned
- 24:11Speaker 2: to this day. That matters because you're not dealing with
- 24:14Speaker 2: some major corporation. You're dealing with a brand that's been
- 24:18Speaker 2: doing this the right way for generations. And their whole
- 24:21Speaker 2: thing is built to mow the distance. That's not just
- 24:25Speaker 2: a tagline. That's the mentality. These are built for people
- 24:30Speaker 2: who need a machine that shows up and performs day
- 24:33Speaker 2: in and day out, no excuses. So if you're mowers
- 24:36Speaker 2: on its last leg or you just want something that's
- 24:39Speaker 2: actually built for the long haul, go find your Gravely.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Head to gravely.com forward slash bussing. and use their dealer
- 24:47Speaker 2: locator and find one near you to find your Gravely.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Go find your Gravely PT6.
- 24:54Speaker 1: We just got spooked.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I love that.
- 24:57Speaker 7: We just got spooked.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Dude, the taser element.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I heard the.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I thought it was a frequency through my headphones. I
- 25:09Speaker 2: couldn't hear. I just heard the.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Then when he came at me with it, I was stuck.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I was like, oh my.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Dude, the taser got me. Back to Waylon Ransom.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Stay in it. Stay in it.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Game day is October 25th at the high school field.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Under the lights. Y'all feel free to come out to.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Pronounced skytook oklahoma in support willie one shelf if you
- 25:39Speaker 2: could grace us with another pre-game speech i would greatly
- 25:42Speaker 2: appreciate it also congrats on the boy agap successor boys
- 25:46Speaker 2: don't ever keep it under an hour take out the
- 25:48Speaker 2: trash let's he bleeped out he spelled out the f
- 25:51Speaker 2: word but he said to bleep it out okay let's
- 25:55Speaker 2: go kid show go.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Kid show kid show um maybe we can send him
- 26:00Speaker 1: a video We got to keep it under an hour.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We got to keep it under an hour. We got
- 26:04Speaker 1: to keep it under an hour. Yeah. Or maybe I
- 26:05Speaker 1: can send him a video to fire up the football.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I like that.
- 26:08Speaker 1: If he got an ass tat, we can send him
- 26:10Speaker 1: a video later.
- 26:10Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 2: He got an ass tat. We can send him a
- 26:13Speaker 2: personal video. We have his details.
- 26:14Speaker 1: We got his details. We have his details. Repeat it, Ben.
- 26:17Speaker 2: I've seen his left ass cheek. We got his deeds.
- 26:22Speaker 1: There was, oh, did you tell me, you were kind
- 26:26Speaker 1: of telling me before the show that you're starting to
- 26:28Speaker 1: experience the hitting phase?
- 26:30Speaker 6: Yes, dude.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Yes, dude.
- 26:34Speaker 2: That is my dad loss this week. Should we jump in?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Let's dive in, bro. Scar's car's starting to swing.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Would love to pick your brain. Legitimately pick your brain
- 26:43Speaker 2: on this.
- 26:43Speaker 1: There's not a lot of picking going on.
- 26:46Speaker 2: We talked to the pediatrician just for additional support on that.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Chef, you still spooked?
- 26:53Speaker 7: Yeah, dude.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I'm fucking looking everywhere now.
- 26:55Speaker 1: You got the back to the.
- 26:57Speaker 5: caught i i filmed the whole spooktober thing that you
- 27:01Speaker 5: guys will see hopefully later this week on busting with
- 27:03Speaker 5: the boys channel it felt so good to be a
- 27:05Speaker 5: part of it and not have to worry about the
- 27:07Speaker 5: scare getting scared part that just caught me so off
- 27:10Speaker 5: guard because i didn't think because i've been on the
- 27:12Speaker 5: production side of it didn't think at all yeah now.
- 27:15Speaker 2: You're back to the entire shop and it's dark it's
- 27:18Speaker 2: very dark.
- 27:20Speaker 1: There's tarps up, there's walls, there's curtains. You can't really
- 27:23Speaker 1: see what's going on.
- 27:24Speaker 2: To add juice, like I was the one that hired
- 27:27Speaker 2: them for today. The taser thing still scared me. I
- 27:30Speaker 2: still jumped it. Like that was very scary. So you
- 27:33Speaker 2: knew it was coming.
- 27:33Speaker 1: I did. That's a little messed up, Sherman. Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Apologies.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Tough to run a show when we don't know what's
- 27:39Speaker 1: going to happen. I know. I just wanted everyone to
- 27:40Speaker 1: be a little spooked.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Or is Jeff still looking over his shoulder?
- 27:47Speaker 4: I haven't seen his face in like 20 minutes. I
- 27:50Speaker 4: just get his back. Just look at the cam, chef.
- 27:52Speaker 4: That's what I'm doing.
- 27:56Speaker 2: But yes, we talked to the pediatrician on just like
- 28:02Speaker 2: ways that she thought was good to handle the correcting
- 28:08Speaker 2: of that behavior. When should we be saying no? Because
- 28:12Speaker 2: we want our no's to be very strategic and like
- 28:16Speaker 2: to hit home. We don't want no to become a
- 28:18Speaker 2: word where it is just like butter that is spread
- 28:21Speaker 2: over the entire piece of toast and everything's no. And
- 28:25Speaker 2: so it's frustrating when mom and dad say no. We're
- 28:28Speaker 2: going to obviously tell her to stop doing things when
- 28:33Speaker 2: it needs to be corrected. But like if you're hitting mama,
- 28:36Speaker 2: that's like a, you know, grab her arm.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Hey, no.
- 28:41Speaker 2: And let me tell you why, you know, break down
- 28:43Speaker 2: like why we don't do that. Um, and the pediatrician
- 28:47Speaker 2: just said like the strong nose for stuff that is
- 28:50Speaker 2: either going to hurt others or hurt herself, um, is
- 28:54Speaker 2: like a good way to kind of go about that.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I told Jill, I was like, this one really hits
- 29:00Speaker 2: home for me. I do not want her hitting you.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I don't want her hitting me. I don't want her
- 29:05Speaker 2: hitting others. She needs to be respectful of everybody. So
- 29:08Speaker 2: this is something that I'm not playing with. Like, if
- 29:12Speaker 2: I see that, I'm nipping that instantly. Nipping that in
- 29:17Speaker 2: the A. In the ass. In the ass. Because Papa
- 29:20Speaker 2: Sherm don't play.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Kid show.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Kid show. Papa Sherm does not play with that. And
- 29:25Speaker 2: this morning, dude, she was throwing a tantrum. Because Jill
- 29:30Speaker 2: had warned me that Scarlett has been hitting her.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Oh, God. Oh, no. Oh, no.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Chef.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Chef.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Dude, the taser. Oh, no.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 29:59Speaker 1: And he heard me say I knew they were coming
- 30:01Speaker 1: and the taser still scared me. So he knows. He's
- 30:04Speaker 1: got somebody with me. Stay in it? I'll stay in it.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I was like, I'm going to nip this in the
- 30:10Speaker 2: ass because this pisses me off. She needs to be
- 30:13Speaker 2: respectful of others, but she certainly needs to be respectful
- 30:16Speaker 2: of her mother and her father. And the amount of
- 30:19Speaker 2: love that her mom is pouring into her, I'm not
- 30:22Speaker 2: going to play around with that. So this morning, she
- 30:25Speaker 2: is throwing her head back. doing tantrums. She's not having
- 30:29Speaker 2: it this morning. Jill brings her into our bedroom. I'm
- 30:32Speaker 2: getting ready for the day and I see Scarlett throwing
- 30:36Speaker 2: the no face. She doesn't really say no, but she
- 30:39Speaker 2: knows that this means no.
- 30:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:41Speaker 2: And she starts going like this at Jill.
- 30:45Speaker 7: Dude.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Jill, he was hot.
- 30:47Speaker 7: Hey! Hey!
- 30:49Speaker 6: No!
- 30:50Speaker 1: Scarlett, look at me. No.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Do not hit your mother. We do not hit our mother.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Like, mad face.
- 30:59Speaker 2: And she did it one other time where she didn't
- 31:01Speaker 2: hit mom, but she started swinging and we both came
- 31:04Speaker 2: in strong, letting her know, like grab her arm.
- 31:07Speaker 1: No, blah, blah, blah.
- 31:08Speaker 2: And then later when she was frustrated, she put her
- 31:12Speaker 2: arm up, kind of went like that and put it
- 31:14Speaker 2: back down.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, good. Okay, good.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Cause I want to start strong on that. Hey, we
- 31:21Speaker 2: aren't playing.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 2: How do you think I did? I mean, I'm up
- 31:26Speaker 2: for grading.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I feel like you did solid. Yeah. Like, if that's
- 31:30Speaker 1: the principle you guys are standing on. Like, it was
- 31:33Speaker 1: always tough for me because I'd see it and I'd
- 31:34Speaker 1: have to just cover my mouth. Because I just think it's, like,
- 31:38Speaker 1: kind of amusing. It is going to. It wasn't to Charles.
- 31:41Speaker 1: It's grabbing. Hey, we don't hit. Yeah, yeah. We do
- 31:43Speaker 1: not hit.
- 31:44Speaker 2: It's going to be funny at some points. Like, I
- 31:48Speaker 2: know that I didn't just solve the world crisis of
- 31:52Speaker 2: hitting mamas right there in that moment. And there's going
- 31:54Speaker 2: to be moments where she's going to be, Jill told
- 31:56Speaker 2: me she's pulling her hair a lot out of frustration.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Letting them know that that hurts. We don't hit.
- 32:03Speaker 2: And I'm sure that I'm going to be giggling. Because
- 32:07Speaker 2: sometimes I'll sit in the pocket and take a couple.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Because I didn't know if I came on too strong
- 32:13Speaker 2: in that moment. Like if that volume was too much or.
- 32:17Speaker 2: But it felt all right.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Yeah. You got to go off instinct there. Yeah. Was
- 32:22Speaker 1: this happening before the solo trip to Arkansas? After.
- 32:26Speaker 4: So did it start? Did it happen during? Like, I'm
- 32:29Speaker 4: wondering if it's a dad's not around, she's reacting to it.
- 32:31Speaker 5: I mean.
- 32:33Speaker 2: That is a good question. And I do think that
- 32:35Speaker 2: that did happen. Because part of the hitting, too, is
- 32:37Speaker 2: almost like they know they can get your attentions.
- 32:40Speaker 6: Yes.
- 32:40Speaker 1: So sometimes even ignoring it, you know what I mean? Yes.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Like depending on how hard these shots are. I don't,
- 32:46Speaker 1: you know, I don't know Scarlett. I don't know how
- 32:47Speaker 1: much she's swinging them.
- 32:48Speaker 2: When Scarlett.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Cause she would pull mom's hair too. And it'd be,
- 32:51Speaker 1: you know, you're just kind of telling them like, Hey,
- 32:52Speaker 1: we don't hit that. Like you're hurting mama or that hurt.
- 32:55Speaker 1: It's Charo talking to her or me having to. Yeah, dude.
- 32:59Speaker 2: When Scarlett is doing the, uh, the big one is
- 33:02Speaker 2: we have this changing me. Uh, we have this mirror
- 33:05Speaker 2: right there on her changing table and she loves grabbing
- 33:08Speaker 2: the mirror. It's on a hanging wire. And she yanks
- 33:11Speaker 2: it like this and hits the wall with it. And
- 33:14Speaker 2: it makes her laugh. And that was our very first, like, Hey, no, no,
- 33:19Speaker 2: stop Scarlet. But it's, it is funny now because she
- 33:24Speaker 2: will get on the changing table and she'll start smiling
- 33:27Speaker 2: and put her hand on the mirror and she won't
- 33:30Speaker 2: yank it, but she'll just put her hand on the
- 33:32Speaker 2: mirror and start smiling at you.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 2: And I like yourself, uh, I can see that in
- 33:38Speaker 2: myself that I then smile and I go, no, no, Scarlett.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I would always do my best by just kind of
- 33:45Speaker 1: trying to ignore it. Just simply telling them, hey, we
- 33:48Speaker 1: don't hit. You just grab their little arm. You're not
- 33:50Speaker 1: going to. Yeah. You can try to hit that. Key word, try.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Mess around a little bit, but then get back in
- 33:57Speaker 1: the pocket.
- 33:58Speaker 2: It's Godzilla.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I want to see you try to hit me. Yeah.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Or like come with the hand, you just grab it. Nope. Yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 1: We don't hit. Yeah. Ignore it.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Then, then I feel like make it seem like it's not, um, it's, it's,
- 34:12Speaker 2: you got two ends of the spectrum where it's like,
- 34:15Speaker 2: you make it seem like it's not like you're not
- 34:17Speaker 2: giving them the attention that they're wanting by keeping the low,
- 34:21Speaker 2: the low level and the low tone, or you're like
- 34:23Speaker 2: trying to set a precedent where it's like, you're coming
- 34:26Speaker 2: in the way you're just, you want the shock factor
- 34:29Speaker 2: of we don't do this. I didn't think about that either, dude,
- 34:33Speaker 2: that it can turn into, I want your attention.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Right, that's like, oh, I know I can get dad's
- 34:38Speaker 1: attention right now by swinging at mom or swinging at somebody. Yeah.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I know when I do this, I'm going to get
- 34:44Speaker 1: my parents' attention immediately.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Huh.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Dad, man, we're all trying to figure it out.
- 34:51Speaker 2: What a battle.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:54Speaker 2: That's going to be a hard little ones and twos
- 34:57Speaker 2: to start playing with of, dang it, now she's doing
- 35:01Speaker 2: it for attention. Not only does she know it's wrong,
- 35:05Speaker 2: That's the only way she can get attention from me.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Am I giving her enough attention throughout the day? Yeah,
- 35:11Speaker 2: because we've dealt with it more on the Scotty end.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Yeah. And then it feels like a universal, whatever analogy
- 35:19Speaker 1: you use, the butter across whatever, where Scotty is just
- 35:22Speaker 1: hearing no a lot. And it's like almost toning down
- 35:24Speaker 1: the saying no and just explaining to her we don't hit.
- 35:27Speaker 1: You're hurting your sister. That doesn't feel good. Because Scotty
- 35:31Speaker 1: would rough. She has it in a little bit. but
- 35:33Speaker 1: she just would be after Rue. But a lot of it,
- 35:36Speaker 1: she'd come and hit Rue because we might be, mom
- 35:39Speaker 1: or dad is sitting there spending time with Rue. She
- 35:42Speaker 1: comes over, pop out of nowhere.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Because she knows like, I need the attention on me.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Pediatrician said even at 15, because it was her 15
- 35:50Speaker 2: month checkup, she was like, even at 15 months, you
- 35:54Speaker 2: need to explain why. Start the process of explaining why
- 35:58Speaker 2: so that it's more than just like, don't do it.
- 36:03Speaker 2: It's like, I'm going to sit here, give you some attention,
- 36:06Speaker 2: give you some coaching. This is why we don't do it.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Even if she's, how do you think mama feels when you,
- 36:12Speaker 1: when you hit her?
- 36:12Speaker 7: Boom.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It makes her sad. Yes. Which are frustrated.
- 36:16Speaker 2: You do that a lot.
- 36:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I feel like a lot of the emotions. Yeah. Yes.
- 36:22Speaker 1: So it, it feels good.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Like I, I hate it. Obviously it, a part of
- 36:27Speaker 2: it is a little bit funny. And I know that
- 36:31Speaker 2: there's a lot more to come with it, but I
- 36:35Speaker 2: guess kind of a dad win, too. I know we
- 36:37Speaker 2: put it in the dad loss category, but it felt
- 36:40Speaker 2: good to kind of do my first hurdle, do my
- 36:43Speaker 2: first live rap.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:45Speaker 1: I mean, buddy, it's dad. You're dad, man.
- 36:49Speaker 2: We're dad, man.
- 36:50Speaker 1: You're dad.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Hashtag, this is why we dad in the comments.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Hashtag, this is why we dad.
- 36:55Speaker 2: If you're a dad and you vibe with us, make
- 36:57Speaker 2: sure to leave. Hashtag, this is why we dad.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Speaking of dad, I do have a dad hack shot
- 37:04Speaker 1: in by Lieutenant Dan on Spotify. Rebranding food is a
- 37:10Speaker 1: true dad hack. Thomas corn muffins? Nah. Those are breakfast
- 37:15Speaker 1: cookies in our house. I would love to know the
- 37:18Speaker 1: age that he's rebranding the food on. I feel like
- 37:21Speaker 1: that would be something that could work below two and
- 37:23Speaker 1: a half, three years old. I feel like Rue would
- 37:26Speaker 1: just be able to be like, dad, this isn't a cookie. Dude,
- 37:29Speaker 1: this is a muffin or this is a cupcake. That's pretty.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:33Speaker 1: She's too smart. Like she knows what a cookie is.
- 37:35Speaker 1: That's pretty smart.
- 37:36Speaker 2: I would say coming from a, um, I've told a
- 37:39Speaker 2: lot of stories on here of miss Amy, uh, not
- 37:43Speaker 2: allowing the Harry Potter books. Didn't let my brother watch
- 37:46Speaker 2: PG 13 until he was 13. One of her other ones, uh,
- 37:51Speaker 2: was rebranding food in a big way. pizza was like
- 37:55Speaker 2: seen as dessert in my household growing up. Like our
- 37:58Speaker 2: pantry had no snacks in it. It was like the
- 38:03Speaker 2: healthiest pantry of all time. So whenever we got something
- 38:05Speaker 2: like pizza, chicken and dumplings, dishes like that, it was like,
- 38:11Speaker 2: that was kind of special, almost like a dessert.
- 38:13Speaker 1: That was the come up. Yeah. Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Until you made friends and they're like, And they're like, hey, Sherm,
- 38:19Speaker 2: we got to get some Cheetos.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Come check out my pantry. We got to get some
- 38:21Speaker 1: Cheetos and Olipops up in this bit. Like, what are
- 38:24Speaker 1: we doing? You ever had a Swiss roll?
- 38:26Speaker 7: Oh, man.
- 38:26Speaker 2: If Olipop had been around back in the day, that
- 38:30Speaker 2: would have been a good one.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Lesson. Again, we have the email as the main event.
- 38:36Speaker 1: So we're going to fast track the lesson.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Yes.
- 38:40Speaker 1: You have a lesson.
- 38:41Speaker 7: I do.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Lesson of the week is honey do's, a honey do list.
- 38:48Speaker 2: are free throws and the game of fatherhood. What happens
- 38:52Speaker 2: in basketball if you aren't making your free throws? And
- 38:56Speaker 2: that's open to anyone on this podcast.
- 38:59Speaker 1: You're hurting the team. You're hurting the team. Chances that
- 39:02Speaker 1: you win the game, pretty slim. Probably going to lose
- 39:05Speaker 1: the game if you aren't hitting your free throws. What
- 39:07Speaker 1: is the easiest shot in basketball? A free throw. A
- 39:10Speaker 1: free throw. If you're Shaquille O'Neal, it's a dunk. It's
- 39:15Speaker 1: a dunk. For us, a free throw. A free throw.
- 39:18Speaker 1: But hey, free throw, free points. You're supposed to be
- 39:20Speaker 1: getting free points right here. We got to be good
- 39:22Speaker 1: at the free throw line. We got to be good
- 39:24Speaker 1: at the free throw line. And it really dawned on
- 39:27Speaker 1: me this weekend.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I had a mental breakdown.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Shift with my honey-do list.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Going into the weekend of not even like a I
- 39:37Speaker 2: don't have to, I get to type shift, but more
- 39:40Speaker 2: like a This is an opportunity where I can not
- 39:45Speaker 2: only relieve stress and knock stuff out around the house,
- 39:49Speaker 2: but my wife is going to come home so happy
- 39:52Speaker 2: to see that all this stuff was not only done,
- 39:56Speaker 2: but done well. And it gave me a good amount
- 40:01Speaker 2: of like, I definitely need structure around me. On the weekends,
- 40:05Speaker 2: solo weekends especially. And so I leaned into the honeydew
- 40:09Speaker 2: list of knocking it out. And not only was it
- 40:13Speaker 2: really fun, but it opened up my weekend to a
- 40:17Speaker 2: lot of stuff that I otherwise wouldn't have run into
- 40:20Speaker 2: if I wasn't just taking care of my yard, taking
- 40:23Speaker 2: care of the garage, doing the Halloween decorations, making sure
- 40:28Speaker 2: the dishes are being done. Are you rocking solo with Scarlett?
- 40:32Speaker 2: Rocking solo solo. Oh, so you were solo over the weekend.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Which was very nice, but doing it, having that honey
- 40:43Speaker 2: do list on Saturday, like really gave my Saturday like
- 40:47Speaker 2: a great structure. And I mean, Jill was over the
- 40:51Speaker 2: moon that that's been a huge pitfall of mine of
- 40:55Speaker 2: like not falling through on the very easy, simple tasks
- 41:00Speaker 2: around the house. that I could be doing to help
- 41:03Speaker 2: out my wifey. She usually doesn't make a list of things,
- 41:08Speaker 2: but made a list of things this weekend of like the,
- 41:11Speaker 2: not even like it has to be done, but this
- 41:14Speaker 2: would be nice if you did these. And I knocked
- 41:16Speaker 2: out all of them. And at my mental load, then
- 41:19Speaker 2: for the rest of Saturday was awesome. Cause I got
- 41:22Speaker 2: to go to, uh, shout out Brian and Hillary, their
- 41:25Speaker 2: daughter's getting baptized. I went to like their little pre
- 41:28Speaker 2: dinner party for that. Um, got to watch football, just
- 41:34Speaker 2: kind of stress-free. But it goes into my crack a
- 41:38Speaker 2: cold one, which this weekend while I was mowing, my
- 41:43Speaker 2: neighbor Blake realized that Jill was out of town. I
- 41:47Speaker 2: didn't reach out to him and tell him that she
- 41:49Speaker 2: was out of town, but he saw that I was
- 41:51Speaker 2: operating on my solo. And he had told his wife
- 41:56Speaker 2: that and the daughter overheard that yo, I think Sherman's
- 41:59Speaker 2: on solo this weekend. Like, I just, you know, it
- 42:02Speaker 2: seems like he's the only one home.
- 42:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 2: And wifey was like, you should ask him to, you know,
- 42:09Speaker 2: hang out, come watch a game or something today. And
- 42:12Speaker 2: then while they're cooking burgers, his daughter was like, should
- 42:16Speaker 2: we bring a burger over to Sherman? And he was like, yes,
- 42:22Speaker 2: he would love that. We can do a little burger.
- 42:25Speaker 2: They actually had some lollipop. In this segment, Crack a
- 42:28Speaker 2: Cold One's brought to us by Olipop.
- 42:30Speaker 1: That caramel apple, too.
- 42:31Speaker 2: That caramel apple, baby. They threw a little crisp apple
- 42:35Speaker 2: Olipop in the little to-go box and two little Oreos
- 42:40Speaker 2: and some homemade chili cheese fries. So they hooked it up. Brother,
- 42:45Speaker 2: I'm locked in on my audio book. I'm on the
- 42:47Speaker 2: last Game of Thrones book in the series.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Just mmm.
- 42:52Speaker 2: So much that it's like chef style spooked me. as
- 42:55Speaker 2: Blake is like two feet in front of me and I,
- 42:58Speaker 2: I literally jump and he's got this buffet in front
- 43:01Speaker 2: of me.
- 43:02Speaker 1: He's like, oh, sorry.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I almost said a daughter's daughter has some, she wants
- 43:08Speaker 2: to give you and she, you know, hands it to me.
- 43:11Speaker 2: And he was like, this was her idea. She wanted
- 43:13Speaker 2: to give you a little lunch, blah, blah, blah. And
- 43:16Speaker 2: it was such a sweet little moment. Cause wife's not around.
- 43:20Speaker 2: I'm on, uh, demon time. I'm on husband time. Oh yeah.
- 43:24Speaker 1: You're playing with house money.
- 43:25Speaker 2: I'm playing with house money. I haven't eaten breakfast.
- 43:27Speaker 1: I am.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I'm not even thinking about what's for lunch. I'm just like,
- 43:31Speaker 2: I got to knock this stuff out so I can
- 43:32Speaker 2: get to Brian's house and watch TCU Baylor. Uh, you know,
- 43:36Speaker 2: my priorities are not on what am I eating today?
- 43:39Speaker 2: I didn't even realize how hungry I was. So then
- 43:42Speaker 2: I'm snarfing that down. Um, and while they're sitting there
- 43:46Speaker 2: talking to me and they get into the conversation, Hey,
- 43:49Speaker 2: what are y'all doing tonight? And his daughter was so excited.
- 43:53Speaker 2: I'm camping in the backyard with my dad. It's just
- 43:56Speaker 2: going to be us two in the tent and he's
- 43:58Speaker 2: going to make a fire pit. And I think we're
- 44:00Speaker 2: going to, you know, sit around, blah, blah, blah. And
- 44:02Speaker 2: just seeing like the look on her face, dude, and
- 44:06Speaker 2: being so jealous of like, oh man, I can't wait
- 44:09Speaker 2: to do that kind of stuff with Scarlett. And it
- 44:13Speaker 2: was just this like really sweet moment of them being
- 44:15Speaker 2: very neighborly, bringing me that. And then her talking about
- 44:18Speaker 2: how excited she was to hang out with her dad.
- 44:21Speaker 2: so I looked at neighbor Blake and I said, well,
- 44:24Speaker 2: I might, you know, be coming back. I might stop
- 44:27Speaker 2: by Sonic. And I kind of gave him a look like, Hey,
- 44:29Speaker 2: I'm about to offer up a treat.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Cut me off.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Like if you, if y'all don't do like ice cream
- 44:35Speaker 2: and stuff at night. And I was like, I think
- 44:37Speaker 2: I might get some extra Reese's blasts on my, on
- 44:41Speaker 2: my way home or maybe an Oreo one or M &
- 44:43Speaker 2: M one. And she like looks up at her dad
- 44:46Speaker 2: and he's like, Oh yeah, I think a Reese's one
- 44:49Speaker 2: would sound really good, huh? And she was like, Yeah, yeah.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Which then added this whole extra layer of, I was like,
- 44:57Speaker 2: I need to get home at a good time from
- 44:59Speaker 2: Brian's because I got an ice cream delivery I got
- 45:01Speaker 2: to make. And getting to go back into their backyard, dude,
- 45:05Speaker 2: with those blasts. And his daughter has her little winter
- 45:10Speaker 2: hat on and blanket around her. And they're sitting there
- 45:14Speaker 2: around the fire. And she's so excited when I come
- 45:17Speaker 2: into the backyard with the ice cream. she's shown me
- 45:20Speaker 2: their tent and the air mattresses in there. It was dude,
- 45:24Speaker 2: it was so wholesome and just like him getting to
- 45:28Speaker 2: be a really good father and, you know, pour some
- 45:31Speaker 2: love onto his neighbor. It was very nice to then
- 45:34Speaker 2: kind of send that right back to him and be like,
- 45:37Speaker 2: Hey man, y'all are some good peeps. I want to
- 45:39Speaker 2: send you a little love too.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Here you go.
- 45:41Speaker 2: But just to like, I don't know. It's, it's cool
- 45:46Speaker 2: when you get to live life with.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Uh, Some good peeps. Yeah, man. You know what I mean?
- 45:51Speaker 1: Good crack of cold one. Thank you. Mine's on the
- 45:53Speaker 1: same wave of camping. The family, we were about two
- 45:56Speaker 1: hours outside of Nashville. We went camping on Sunday. That
- 45:58Speaker 1: family actually gets back. We're recording on Tuesday. They get
- 46:01Speaker 1: back today because they stayed out an extra day because
- 46:05Speaker 1: I had to get back for the podcast.
- 46:07Speaker 3: And everything else.
- 46:08Speaker 2: PT6, the Nanit smart baby monitor system. We have talked
- 46:14Speaker 2: about it many times on this podcast, but you can't
- 46:16Speaker 2: talk about it enough. My wife, Jilly Bean, was just
- 46:19Speaker 2: out of town this weekend. She took Scarlett. I'm home alone,
- 46:24Speaker 2: and I miss my baby when I'm going to bed
- 46:26Speaker 2: because I'm not doing tuck-in routine. Who's there to save
- 46:29Speaker 2: the day?
- 46:29Speaker 1: Nan, it is.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Because their smart baby monitor system is not only built
- 46:34Speaker 2: perfectly for your home, but it's built perfect for on-the-go
- 46:37Speaker 2: as well. My wife took our system as they traveled
- 46:40Speaker 2: to Arkansas, and I got to check in on my baby, Scarlett.
- 46:44Speaker 2: at night and see that she was tucked away safe
- 46:47Speaker 2: in her little pack and play while she was on
- 46:50Speaker 2: a trip with mom. And for most dads, that might
- 46:54Speaker 2: not feel crazy important. But for me, that gives me
- 46:58Speaker 2: so much peace of mind when I get to see
- 47:00Speaker 2: my little girl fast asleep as my head's about to
- 47:03Speaker 2: hit the pillow. This monitoring system is an all-in-one parenting tool.
- 47:08Speaker 2: It combines crystal clear HD video, breathing motion monitoring, automatic
- 47:14Speaker 2: sleep tracking, real-time safety alerts, and personalized sleep insight into
- 47:19Speaker 2: one seamless system. Nana isn't another gadget. It's your parenting
- 47:23Speaker 2: partner from night one, delivering confidence, clarity, and peace of
- 47:28Speaker 2: mind in one smart monitor system that grows with your family.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Head to Nanit.com forward slash for the dads and receive 20%
- 47:38Speaker 2: off the Nanit Smart Baby Video Monitor with floor stand,
- 47:42Speaker 2: wall mount, or the full system at checkout. Use code
- 47:47Speaker 2: FORTHEDADS at checkout for 20% off the Nanit Smart Baby
- 47:52Speaker 2: Video Monitor with floor stand, wall mount, or the full
- 47:56Speaker 2: system at checkout.
- 47:57Speaker 1: But anyway, on Sunday, we go out and go camping.
- 47:59Speaker 1: We're a couple hours outside of Nashville. Set up, get
- 48:03Speaker 1: the tent going. The in-laws are with us. It was
- 48:05Speaker 1: me and my wife, our kiddos, and then Lola and Opa.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Come on. And, bro, it was a blast. I hated
- 48:13Speaker 1: that I had to wake up at like 530 in
- 48:15Speaker 1: the morning on Monday to drive back to Nashville to
- 48:18Speaker 1: get back for our meetings and everything else. And I
- 48:22Speaker 1: was bummed because I knew Rue would be bummed that
- 48:25Speaker 1: I wasn't. around because we were dude we were yucking
- 48:28Speaker 1: up we were having a great time we we went
- 48:30Speaker 1: out we go we go on a little hike we
- 48:32Speaker 1: get the whole area set up we got the tent
- 48:34Speaker 1: out we got the chairs around the fire pit that
- 48:37Speaker 1: we will that we made later in the evening and
- 48:41Speaker 1: uh we went out and did a little hike we
- 48:43Speaker 1: come back it's rue obviously scotty but ruse first time
- 48:46Speaker 1: camping my first time camping since i was like a
- 48:49Speaker 1: young buck like i hadn't camped tent camping or anything
- 48:52Speaker 1: since I was on a youth baseball team way back
- 48:55Speaker 1: in the day. Really? So my first time in a
- 48:57Speaker 1: long time. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, bro. In over two decades.
- 49:02Speaker 2: But y'all have done a lot of hikes. That's why
- 49:04Speaker 2: that shocked me. Sorry.
- 49:05Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 49:06Speaker 1: We've been hiking a bunch.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Y'all go out in the wilderness a ton.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but camping?
- 49:09Speaker 2: Yeah, camping overnight.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Dude, it was so much fun. Coming back, smelling like campfire,
- 49:14Speaker 1: ripping around with the kiddos. Scotty's just in that big
- 49:17Speaker 1: mom face, so it was, she had that mom like
- 49:19Speaker 1: the whole time, but me and Rue kind of ripping
- 49:20Speaker 1: around during the hike at night. Like when, you know,
- 49:24Speaker 1: when it got dark out, Rue, Opa gave Rue this
- 49:27Speaker 1: little like headlamp. So Rue was rocking this headlamp around
- 49:30Speaker 1: and we were like going out into the woods. like
- 49:33Speaker 1: off of our little site to like look around for
- 49:35Speaker 1: bears and ghosts. Like Rue's ripping around with a headlamp
- 49:38Speaker 1: and I'll shoot the video in so we can overlay
- 49:41Speaker 1: it or play it or whatever. But we're getting out
- 49:44Speaker 1: there and Rue's like, there's ghosts. We got to go back.
- 49:46Speaker 1: And I'm like, you know, any moment I had to
- 49:48Speaker 1: where there's enough of us walking and I would like
- 49:50Speaker 1: stop and panic. Like, oh my gosh, there's a bear.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Or oh my gosh, there's a wolf. Or there's a ghost.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Rue's telling me that there's a ghost. I'm like, we
- 49:57Speaker 1: have to run back right now. We have to run
- 49:58Speaker 1: back to the campsite. And we're like taking off through
- 50:01Speaker 1: We're like taking off through the woods to get back. Dude,
- 50:03Speaker 1: it was so much fun.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Could you see your breath too?
- 50:05Speaker 1: Was it cool enough? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It got cool enough.
- 50:07Speaker 2: I love with the heat lamps when your breath is
- 50:10Speaker 2: coming up into the heat lamp.
- 50:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Oh, dude. Like having, we had like little futon mattresses.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Lola and Opa, like they camp, they camp all the time.
- 50:18Speaker 1: So they were, you know, the tailgate was packed. With
- 50:23Speaker 1: all the stuff that we needed, all the necessities, we
- 50:25Speaker 1: brought like, you know, we had their little sleeping bags
- 50:28Speaker 1: and little chairs to sit around the campfire. Oh, yeah.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Lola and Opa, they had gumbo ready to get made. So,
- 50:34Speaker 1: you know, I'm getting the Opa. He wanted me to
- 50:37Speaker 1: get the charcoal. Y'all made it on the campfire? Yeah,
- 50:41Speaker 1: made it on the campfire. So get the fire going
- 50:43Speaker 1: on the charcoal with the lighter fluid, some sticks, like
- 50:46Speaker 1: getting it going. Like that was kind of my responsibility.
- 50:48Speaker 1: I was putting a lot of time into getting this,
- 50:50Speaker 1: getting the charcoal heated. Oh yeah, baby. Properly. Pressure's on. Yeah.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Then you spread it around and he had this, what
- 50:57Speaker 1: are them like skillet bowl deals? Dutch oven. Dutch oven.
- 51:02Speaker 1: There we go. Yes. Got the Dutch oven, sitting it
- 51:05Speaker 1: on the charcoal, cooking it over that. The gumbo was phenomenal.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Kids are eating. Thank God. Rue was into it. She
- 51:13Speaker 1: wanted seconds. All about it, bro. We're making s'mores. And,
- 51:17Speaker 1: you know, s'mores is just, it's the best. Some people
- 51:20Speaker 1: say s'mores are overrated. They're not overrated. They're just right
- 51:23Speaker 1: for the occasion. But having those memories, getting in the tent,
- 51:28Speaker 1: all getting zimped up in the sleeping bags and everything else,
- 51:30Speaker 1: getting the kiddos changed up and just getting prepped for, like,
- 51:33Speaker 1: going to sleep in the tent for the first time,
- 51:36Speaker 1: laying down, and then I tell a little campfire story
- 51:39Speaker 1: in the tent. Get them going to where it's Taigi, Zooey,
- 51:43Speaker 1: and Princess Rue. They wanted to go camping. Nobody knows
- 51:47Speaker 1: how to drive, but they're like, hey, we can walk there.
- 51:49Speaker 1: But as you're walking, it's like you hear the noises outside,
- 51:53Speaker 1: the as they're walking. And then, hoo-hoo, an owl. They're
- 51:57Speaker 1: starting to get a little spooked. Then they hear, oh,
- 52:01Speaker 1: off in the distance. You know, coyotes were howling. I
- 52:04Speaker 1: believe coyotes. We're howling, so we got to have moments
- 52:07Speaker 1: of being a little scared by the campfire.
- 52:10Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 1: And Ruth's like, that'd protect me.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Good amount of coyotes in Tennessee.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Yeah. There's probably coyotes. Yeah.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:15Speaker 1: And Ruth thought they were wolves. Oh, they're just coyotes.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Are coyotes mean?
- 52:19Speaker 3: Not.
- 52:19Speaker 1: They're more scavengers than anything else. But no, they're not
- 52:23Speaker 1: like wolves. They're smaller. They're smaller. They can't get you.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Princess Rue could beat up a coyote.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll put it that way. They don't know if
- 52:29Speaker 1: there's wolves or coyotes. Tyge and Zooey are both talking
- 52:32Speaker 1: about it. There's wolves and coyotes. Then they finally get
- 52:35Speaker 1: to the campsite. They hear the howl even closer. They
- 52:40Speaker 1: got to get everything set up with the fire because
- 52:41Speaker 1: they don't come near the fire. They get the fire going.
- 52:44Speaker 1: They're sitting around the campfire, but then they hear the
- 52:47Speaker 1: getting close. And then I like lean up out of
- 52:49Speaker 1: my sleeping bag and I'm like getting close to Rue
- 52:51Speaker 1: like Rue's locked in. hearing the story, Scotty's telling me
- 52:55Speaker 1: to lay back down. Dad, Dad, lay down, lay down. Hey, Scotty,
- 52:58Speaker 1: hang on, this is the moment. Scotty, what are you doing? Listen,
- 53:02Speaker 1: I'm like in the ear, and they're like, they all
- 53:04Speaker 1: like look by the campfire, and they like look over
- 53:06Speaker 1: their shoulder, and all you could see is the light
- 53:10Speaker 1: from the flame, but once it hits the density of
- 53:12Speaker 1: the woods, I can't see beyond it, and they're all
- 53:14Speaker 1: like looking towards, and I get close to them, and
- 53:16Speaker 1: then I jump out and spook them.
- 53:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:20Speaker 7: You spooked him?
- 53:21Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 7: Let's go.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Then they realize it was just a dog. It was
- 53:25Speaker 2: just a puppy howling. They thought it was a wolf.
- 53:28Speaker 2: They thought it was a coyote.
- 53:29Speaker 1: It was just a dog. Then they pet it. They
- 53:31Speaker 1: have fun. They go to sleep. Let's go.
- 53:34Speaker 7: Do it again.
- 53:34Speaker 8: Do it again.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Scare us again. Scotty wanted me to spook her over
- 53:38Speaker 1: and over. Classic Scotty. Classic Scotty. Dude, you're tapping into something.
- 53:44Speaker 2: That is just so... peak dad it's so just a
- 53:50Speaker 2: tale as old as time dude camping man camping going
- 53:55Speaker 2: camping too I looked over at Charles like yo this
- 53:58Speaker 2: rips yeah dude getting out into the wilderness and being
- 54:02Speaker 2: able to get away and just like the solitude that
- 54:06Speaker 2: you have yeah but also that you're able to lock
- 54:08Speaker 2: into those moments of like and this is I've yet
- 54:12Speaker 2: to go camping with my daughter I was a counselor
- 54:14Speaker 2: at a summer camp though And those moments where you're
- 54:19Speaker 2: with kids out in the woods, it's nighttime, and they're
- 54:25Speaker 2: way more locked in than they ever are, I felt like.
- 54:30Speaker 2: When you're telling a story out in the woods, I
- 54:32Speaker 2: bet Rue, who hangs on every word already, it's triple, right?
- 54:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. I mean, and even walking through the woods
- 54:41Speaker 1: and her being like, Yeah, kind of not knowing being
- 54:45Speaker 1: out in the woods. We're kind of walking like we
- 54:47Speaker 1: got to be careful.
- 54:48Speaker 2: And you know you're how many minutes from your house?
- 54:52Speaker 1: Over two hours.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Okay, so you know that you're over two hours from
- 54:55Speaker 2: your house. You might as well be in the Alaskan
- 54:57Speaker 2: wilderness in Rusev. You know what I'm saying? She thinks
- 55:01Speaker 2: she is way out there. So like everything just feels
- 55:05Speaker 2: bigger and more important.
- 55:07Speaker 1: And just getting to like lay on the blanket too
- 55:10Speaker 1: and look up because, you know, there's not a lot
- 55:11Speaker 1: of light. like getting to see the stars like laying
- 55:15Speaker 1: underneath and like pointing up like scotty you see stars
- 55:17Speaker 1: or like having the stars come to life like as
- 55:19Speaker 1: it gets really dark oh dude like we'll come over
- 55:21Speaker 1: here and check this out because at first you see
- 55:23Speaker 1: like you know the north star like one star yeah
- 55:25Speaker 1: kind of popping up you see the star you see
- 55:26Speaker 1: the moon coming out over there and then when it
- 55:28Speaker 1: gets really dark and you're like hey come back over
- 55:30Speaker 1: here look at all.
- 55:31Speaker 2: This it was cool man not to geek out too
- 55:35Speaker 2: much but saturn is in a good spot right now
- 55:37Speaker 2: for nighttime viewing yeah Saturn is out there right now.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Maybe we saw Saturn.
- 55:42Speaker 2: You probably did. It is what looks to be the
- 55:45Speaker 2: brightest star in the sky right now.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Okay. Then maybe we saw Saturn.
- 55:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 55:49Speaker 2: But God, dude, I have so much childhood memories of
- 55:53Speaker 2: just being out in the woods that that gets my
- 55:55Speaker 2: chili quite hot, getting to hear that story. That's a
- 56:00Speaker 2: great crack of cold one, dude. Thank you.
- 56:02Speaker 1: What else? Was that the end of the crack of
- 56:05Speaker 1: cold one? I didn't want to cut you off. No, no, yeah.
- 56:07Speaker 2: That was the end of it.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Just camping, the camping trip. It's absolutely the crack of
- 56:10Speaker 1: cold one.
- 56:11Speaker 2: Are you guys still shooting?
- 56:17Speaker 3: Yes.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Here, come here. Come here. I hate interrupting.
- 56:23Speaker 8: I just want you guys to be aware there's some
- 56:26Speaker 8: things going on around the shop. I saw some ghouls, goblins,
- 56:30Speaker 8: and specters on the other side, so I don't know
- 56:32Speaker 8: if you guys have seen anything.
- 56:35Speaker 1: We've seen a couple.
- 56:36Speaker 2: They got you?
- 56:36Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Hey, the taser.
- 56:40Speaker 1: I knew I was too late. The taser got me.
- 56:42Speaker 1: I knew I was too late. The taser got me.
- 56:45Speaker 1: Chef was spooked. Made this myself. I go, yeah, it
- 56:48Speaker 1: looks like you made it yourself.
- 56:50Speaker 7: He made it himself? Oh, no.
- 56:56Speaker 1: He's like, this is a bald head and a beard.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, man.
- 56:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 57:00Speaker 8: You want to see how it works?
- 57:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess. I guess so. He had Chef on
- 57:06Speaker 1: spook alert because his back is to the ass.
- 57:09Speaker 8: When I peeked my little head through, I looked at
- 57:11Speaker 8: Chef and Chef was like, you about to beat me up.
- 57:13Speaker 8: Kid show, kid show, kid show. He's going to beat
- 57:15Speaker 8: me up. Anyway, I am terribly sorry for interrupting you guys.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Oh, no. Terribly sorry. It was very fun. It was
- 57:24Speaker 1: very fun. Oh, my gosh.
- 57:28Speaker 2: I can't believe that was homemade. That makes a lot
- 57:30Speaker 2: of sense.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Yeah, because I'm sitting there wondering. I wonder if that
- 57:32Speaker 1: taser is like, yeah. It was just a taser wrapped
- 57:36Speaker 1: in barbed wire. That's like an HR thing. It's taped
- 57:41Speaker 1: on a stick.
- 57:41Speaker 7: It's taped on a stick wrapped in barbed wire.
- 57:44Speaker 4: We like that fun here, but like, you can't just
- 57:47Speaker 4: be making weapons.
- 57:51Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 57:52Speaker 1: All right, PT Sickos, you know that moment.
- 57:55Speaker 2: It's 530.
- 57:56Speaker 1: The kids, they're hangry. And someone whines, what's for dinner?
- 58:01Speaker 2: You're about to panic, but then you remember you picked
- 58:04Speaker 2: up Kevin's Natural Foods at the grocery store. Their refrigerated
- 58:08Speaker 2: entrees give you a legit clean ingredient, restaurant quality meal
- 58:12Speaker 2: in just five minutes. All you have to do is
- 58:15Speaker 2: heat it up, add a side, and you can take
- 58:17Speaker 2: all the credit for a shockingly delicious dinner the whole
- 58:20Speaker 2: family will love. If you watch our Brandon Spikes episode
- 58:24Speaker 2: on Bussin' with the Boys, Brandon Spikes quite literally points
- 58:28Speaker 2: at the Kevins on the bus and goes, oh man,
- 58:30Speaker 2: I love that stuff. It is sweeping the nation if
- 58:34Speaker 2: it is not already swept. And I'm telling you, Kevin's
- 58:37Speaker 2: is the move, guys. They've got flavors like Thai-style coconut chicken,
- 58:41Speaker 2: Korean barbecue-style chicken, and teriyaki beef. The Hawaiian-style chicken is
- 58:46Speaker 2: always a hit in our house. You've already heard me
- 58:49Speaker 2: tell this story. Made a last-minute little dinner. Tried to
- 58:52Speaker 2: sneak it underneath Jill without her knowing that it wasn't
- 58:57Speaker 2: some home cooking, but as soon as she took a bite,
- 58:59Speaker 2: she said, this has got to be Kevin's because it's
- 59:01Speaker 2: better than anything you've ever cooked up, Sherm. No matter
- 59:05Speaker 2: what flavor you choose, Kevin's Natural Foods makes dinner quick, delicious,
- 59:10Speaker 2: and dad-proof. Don't miss out on Kevin's. Stock up on
- 59:13Speaker 2: their entrees in the refrigerated aisle at your local grocery store. P.T.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Sickos.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Olipop has a new flavor. It's a new limited edition
- 59:24Speaker 2: flavor that we've been telling you about this fall. It's
- 59:26Speaker 2: a caramel apple with nine grams of fiber. Olipop is
- 59:30Speaker 2: the feel-good soda that combines the classic soda taste with

- 59:37Speaker 2: been rocking the caramel apple, truly rocking it here on set,
- 59:42Speaker 2: in the office, off the office. Y'all already know my
- 59:46Speaker 2: flag football team quarterback, Sean, one and six, by the way.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Works for Olipop. The brand is all over the place
- 59:54Speaker 2: when it comes to this podcast. But guys, we love
- 59:57Speaker 2: this flavor. We've thrown it into a cup with some
- 59:59Speaker 2: vanilla ice cream. If the kids want some floats around Spooktober,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: it's the perfect little treat for the kiddos and one
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: that will leave you feeling no grief. You can buy

- 1:00:14Speaker 2: you back for one. So that works on any single
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: can of any flavor at any retailer. And you can
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: mix and match those flavors. You can maybe even do
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: a caramel apple with a crisp apple. That might be
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: a move, Chef.
- 1:00:28Speaker 7: Might be.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: And you can go to drinkolipop.com forward slash BWTB. That's
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: drinkolipop.com forward slash BWTB. Olipop is available in the soda
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: aisle and with the chilled beverages at thousands of retailers nationwide,

- 1:00:55Speaker 1: You want to give us a crack of cold one,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: a win, loss, whatever. Call in at 601 The Dads.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: And of course, our dad call-ins are presented by Gravely.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Shout out.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Shout out, Gravely. We'll jump into our first one. It
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: is titled, much like the, I believe it was Kesha's song.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: We Are Who We Are. Do you remember that one, Will?
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I don't know. We are who we are. We're gonna
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: go hard, hard, hard, hard, hard.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Fellas, it's Sam from Chicago, uh, Got a two-year-old girl
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: and I got a problem. My daughter, she's two years
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: old and in daycare all but the first three months
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: of her life. And she's the biter at daycare. Got
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: probably 50-plus biting reports over the past two years.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: 50-plus what?
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Not a single report of her.
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: Being the one.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: 50-plus? Yeah, pause real quick. 50-plus bite reports in the
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: last two years? She has not been bit once.
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: 50 plus?
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: You're dealing with hits. He's got a menace out there
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: biting people. He's got a vampire. Dan Campbell out there
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: biting knees. Bro, 50 plus in two years is crazy.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: We've had a lot of heart to hearts, a lot
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: of sit downs about how we don't bite our friends,
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: but the behavior's not changing. So my question to you
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: guys is when... At what point do I shift the
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: conversation from we don't bite our friends to, hey, when
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: we got to bite, you know, little Jimmy, let's be
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: smart about it. Let's hit him in the blind spot
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: in the corner. You know, maybe we bite him, but,
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: you know, make sure we don't break skin.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: We can't leave any evidence.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: At some point, I think we just got to accept
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: the fact we are who we are. So just looking
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: for some input. Sherm, I know you got a little one.
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: In the daycare.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Maybe you can shed a light on this. Looking forward
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: to hearing your guys' thoughts. Sam from Chicago.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Sam from Chicago.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: If that ain't a Chi-town call-in, man, you got to
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: just be operating in the shadows.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: He's basically going from we can't force the players– To
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: fit our offensive scheme, we got to build the offensive
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: scheme around our players. Like, let's start training and teaching
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: and coaching how we go about the bite.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: And maybe, hey, and we don't know all the details.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: You know, maybe little Jimmy is just a demon and
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: all she's got is her bite. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: She's fighting for her life out there. And so, hey,
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: operate in the shadows. Let's make sure daycare workers aren't around.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: You aren't detected. You don't break skin. That way you
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: can be like, I'm pretty sure a bee landed on
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: him and he got stung.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Bro, the breaking skin is probably tough. Like those do
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: like Scotty can bite, bro. She doesn't know how hard
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: she bites. Like if I like mess with her with
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: my finger or something.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: The bite mark on Scarlett happened at like 10 a.m.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: We pick her up at 430 and right on her spine.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: You still have the little two crescent moons. I mean,
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: it's like, damn, that was a that's a bite, dude. Like,
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: that's crazy.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what to give him. I don't either.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: You just got to start. Maybe it is just some
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: one-on-one coaching. Like, hey, let's start measuring your bite. Yeah.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: That's too hard. Let's try again. Yeah, let's try again.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Okay, maybe a little softer than that. Maybe a little
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: softer than that. Can we get softer?
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: You can't because you can't start biting. You just can't
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: be in their little mind.
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: On how frustrated are you right now? Maybe bite her
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: hand really hard and say, hey, you like that?
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: How did that feel?
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Yeah. That was a joke. Yeah. If there's a biting
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: problem at school, I don't know. Clearly he's exhausted every...
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: probably lecture i'm talking to a two-year-old who knows that
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: she's even hearing.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Me right now knowing the rundown of like jill and
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: i i would like to think are not those parents
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: that like when something happens like the whole world it's
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: just gonna end because it happened to her to our
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: daughter we're very protective of scarlet but like You almost
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: got to throw your own play date.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: You got to get them around the little kiddos so
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: that way you can start doing some of the coaching.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Because it seems like it's out of his hands. You
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: need the daycare teachers. Yeah.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: And the amount of conversations he's probably had to have
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: with other parents, too. He's probably so run down with
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: this shit. 50 in two years? I mean, he's got
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: to be... Oh, there goes the biter. There goes the
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: biter's dad. He's like, that's her.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Hey.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: Is there a world in which you just tell the kid, hey,
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: announce to the other kid you're going to bite him
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: before you do it? And just start there. See if
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: the other kid runs away. Because if you tell the kid,
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: I'm going to bite you, and the kid stays there,
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: at that point it's on the other kid.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Or you just tell the kid, yeah. Yeah, now it's
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: your fault. I told you what I was going to do.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: If you don't put your hands up, I'm.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Going to shoot you. Tip him off to go get
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: the teacher. Hey, I'm going to need you to go
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: get the teacher. Why? I'm about to bite you. And
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I can't control myself. I'm just going to bite you.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: And to quote our good friend, Brandon Spikes, she has
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: her Bruce Leroy going on. She's vibrating. She's glowing. She's
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: ready to bite somebody.
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: And just make it known, hey, I'm about to lose
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: my shit here and bite somebody. So somebody better get
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: a teacher or it's going down. Yeah. another catcher song
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: it's going down down I'm yelling timber you better dance.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Don't get me started on.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: G6 don't get me started on G6 hey G6 this
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: comes from Cannon this is our good friend Cannon that
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: has called in many a times with explicit phone calls.
- 1:07:22Speaker 9: What's going on boys it's Cannon Missed a few weeks.
- 1:07:27Speaker 9: Had to catch up. Got a few things. Nothing on haters.
- 1:07:32Speaker 9: Nothing negative. First of all, Willie Boy. Great news, dude.
- 1:07:39Speaker 9: That's freaking bad ass. Happy for you. And while we're on,
- 1:07:45Speaker 9: I just stopped the podcast to call, but I ended
- 1:07:49Speaker 9: it right where y'all were talking about names.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: And you don't know me.
- 1:07:54Speaker 9: I don't know you. But I got something. I'll just
- 1:07:59Speaker 9: throw something out there. What about Cannon? Cannon Compton.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: A little CC.
- 1:08:07Speaker 9: If that's not a meet you in the A-gap, turn
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: you into an absolute puddle type of name, I don't
- 1:08:16Speaker 9: know what is. So congrats on that, dude. Super happy.
- 1:08:20Speaker 9: Hope everything goes smooth.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: I like where his head's at.
- 1:08:24Speaker 9: One more thing, dude.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: Charm.
- 1:08:28Speaker 9: I heard you were out there playing flag football for
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: fun and you get to 0-5, which I'm assuming now
- 1:08:37Speaker 9: with that attitude, you're probably 0-6, 0-7 by now. Dude,
- 1:08:42Speaker 9: if you want to just go out and have fun
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: and get exercise, go join like a walking club.
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: Amen.
- 1:08:50Speaker 9: Go to like a Pilates class.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Go get in the pool with the old people.
- 1:08:55Speaker 9: I wouldn't try to throw strays at anyone that does that,
- 1:08:56Speaker 9: but like.
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: TV.
- 1:09:00Speaker 9: Well, some bitch cut me off. I was at something
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: about Sherm going at this football, flag football league with
- 1:09:11Speaker 9: an awful mentality. Long story short, for being soft, shoulder
- 1:09:18Speaker 9: check these guys I'll try to keep it clean. These kids,
- 1:09:21Speaker 9: every now and then, let them know, like, I'm here
- 1:09:24Speaker 9: to compete.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:09:26Speaker 9: You know?
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Maybe give them a trip.
- 1:09:28Speaker 9: Maybe say, hey, you're mom. And follow that up with
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: some vulgar shit.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: Yes, sir.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Yes, sir. Make them go home and talk about you negatively. Yes, sir.
- 1:09:38Speaker 9: Not like, God almighty, that that we just played was soft.
- 1:09:44Speaker 9: He was just there to have fun.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: No, dude. Don't be that guy. Yes, sir.
- 1:09:50Speaker 9: I'm mad, just a little disappointed. Anyways, I'm excited to
- 1:09:55Speaker 9: hear some updates after you change that mentality. Maybe you
- 1:09:58Speaker 9: get kicked out because.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: You de-cleated a kid. Yes, sir.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: Nicole, I'm sorry.
- 1:10:02Speaker 9: I didn't know we were playing powder puff. I get
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: in their face, talk shit, maybe hurt one or two
- 1:10:07Speaker 9: of them. If you get kicked off, great.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Good. Anyways.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: Love you, boys.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Love you, Cannon. Love you, Cannon.
- 1:10:15Speaker 9: Excited to hear updates on the little boy, Will, and
- 1:10:18Speaker 9: Sherm changing that I'll try to keep a clean, limp,
- 1:10:24Speaker 9: low attitude you got about this flag football.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Later, boys.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: First things first, as far as Cannon goes, because I've
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: heard about seven or eight of his voicemails, he went
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: way cleaner than I thought he was even capable of. Like,
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: that was very well done by Cannon.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Very PG. Very PG. He snuck some in there. He
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: snuck some in there, which is great. Which is great.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: I actually have some news for Cannon. We're 1-6. So
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: you lost last Thursday? No. I thought you were 1-5.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: I thought you got a win, right? We were 0-6.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: We were 0-6.
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: We're now 1-6.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: So you got a win. We got a win.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: Mentality did change. There were no sweet treats at the game.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. We were talking about sweet treats.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: There were no sweet treats at the game. There was
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: a lot of cussing. There was a lot of cussing.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: I played defense the entire game, which I had yet
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: to do. And I really did feel a little bit
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: of what Brandon Spikes was talking about. on the podcast
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: and was thinking about how I didn't have fun in
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: seven on seven, as much fun on defense as I
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: did on offense. And I really did just take that
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: mindset of we're not going to let these guys score.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: We're going to, we're going to win a game. And
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: we forced our very first four and out. It was
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: our very first turnover on downs the entire season. And
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: we held them to 17 points. And we were down
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: 11 points with a minute left to go. And if
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: you score a touchdown, it is plus three points to
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: the six. So we scored a girl touchdown. You came
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: back and won. Minute left, you came back and won.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: It was actually a really wild ending. It was super sick.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: We then had, with one second left, we had a
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: Tyreek Hill. Everybody bunched up on the right, sent them
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: all deep. It kept our fastest guy right there, two
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: yards deep, just punched it to him. He made like
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: eight people miss and scored.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: It was incredible. How was that feeling? It was good.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: And I ran out and I said, I was screaming,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: oh my God, oh my God, fuck yeah, David.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Fuck yeah.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Went up and dapped up David. We're all dapping up
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: at the end of the game. Grace says, I left
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: my sugar cookies at home, guys. I'm really sorry. Don't
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: need them.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: We didn't need them.
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: Read a comment from.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Grace real quick.
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: So we posted on Instagram up to 800 likes right now, Sherm.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: We got a comment that says, the hate on my
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: pumpkin bread feels out of left field, but the dub was.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Everything from Grace. We are pro pumpkin bread, just not
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: when you're not winning. Yeah, it's remember that feeling you
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: have when you're kind of sound like storm in the field.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Remember that feeling and build off of it. Yeah. It's
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: more fun to win than it is to get the
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: pumpkin bread shoved down your throat.
- 1:13:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: Quite simply.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: It's more fun to keep somebody from scoring a touchdown
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: than it is to go out.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: There and score a touchdown sometimes.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: I really did go to kind of a dark place.
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Protector of the A-gap. Yeah.
- 1:14:06Speaker 7: Good.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: And of course, guys, that was our call-ins this week
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: that were presented by Gravely. You can click the link
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: in the description below of this episode to find Gravely Mower.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: Do we want to get to our main event? I
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: would love to. Do we want to get to the
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: main event?
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: Right before we jump into the main event, I did
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: want to present you with a gift. This is a
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: PT6 gift.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Let me make sure that this one is yours, Will.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: This one is yours, and I'll let you describe what
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: you are looking at to our friends at home.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: Department of Dads. Ooh, the milk and the binkies up top.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: This is.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Dad Action Ribbon. Second award for meritorious... Am I saying
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: that right? Meritorious?
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: Meritorious.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: For meritorious dad duty while under sustained child contact. Direct
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: toddler fire, night operations, heavy diaper engagements, projectile vomiting, grocery
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: store ambushes, Lego IEDs, unexplained sticky substances, enemy forces refusing
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: to eat dinner, repeated dad, dad, dad attacks. Dad, watch me.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: Watch me. This is to acknowledge that William Earl Compton
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: III has been awarded the Dad Action Ribbon for having
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: been personally present while under direct hostile enemy fire and
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: performing his duties as a father. While subjected to repeated
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: hostile actions by child personnel, he continued to provide food, transportation, entertainment, discipline,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: and financial support without abandoning the operational area. This award
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: is given on the 21st day of September in the
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: year of our Lord, 2026. This is badass. Who made this?
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: This comes from Andrew Gatlin from Burleson, Texas. It's just
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: south of my neck of the woods. They're the Elks, Will.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: And before we get hit with any stolen valor, Andrew
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: is a Marine veteran.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Oh, let's go.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: He wanted to gift us with these awards, and he
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: also wanted to gift you with your personal medal. So
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: this is your medal, Will. You got a little Velcro
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: on there so you can stick it on your uniform.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: He was also kind enough. Thank you, Andrew. for making
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: a dad action ribbon for me as well. That's very
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: kind of you. And mine is personalized with my name
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: and description as well. This is cool. This just came
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: in the mail. Like we've had no talks with Andrew
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: before this, correct? I mean, he just sent this unannounced.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: What was his full name again? Andrew Gatlin. Shout out
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Andrew Gatlin. Thank you, bro. This is awesome.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: It's a sick gift. We also have something very fun
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: from Olipop. They partnered with Lonely Ghost, Will. So here
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: you go.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Lonely Ghost. Drink the Olipop. So this is just an
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Olipop gift package. This is an Olipop gift package where
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: they have allowed us.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: To join in on the fun, this Spooktober, it is
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: a jack-o'-lantern hoodie. And the idea is that we bring
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: these hoodies home to our girls, give them this Sharpie
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: that they provided us, and the girls get to draw
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: on their jack-o'-lantern hoodie.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: And then we get to sport it on the spooky
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: week episode.
- 1:17:53Speaker 7: Let's go.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: Is that not fun? Rue's going to love filling this in.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: I feel like Rue's going to go crazy on that.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: She's going to go crazy. Oh my gourd! Your Halloween
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: fit is officially sorted. Olipop and Lonely Ghost have teamed
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: up to make this year's costume as easy as ever.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: The ultimate cozy, cool look and a marker to make
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: it your own. Paired with your favorite, better for you soda.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Consider your Halloween costume done. No tricks, just sips. Cheers.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: You're good to go. Lonely Ghost, Olipop.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: Shut up shut up shut up man this is and
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: it makes it easy got the fit yes costumes ready
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: to go yeah yes sir that's what that needs man
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: just something ready to go i'm fun or i'm fun
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: i'm very excited uh to see what rue does because
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: i i know that rue loves her artwork and getting
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: to be creative and stuff i feel like she's going
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: to have a blast with that.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: My brain's just telling me you just got to fill
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: it in. Or she can put anything she wants.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like she can
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: go crazy. She can do whatever. You can give her
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: one of those big old fat Sharpies too.
- 1:19:04Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: We'll get it rocking. We have our main event. I
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: alluded to it at the top of the episode. We
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: have the most unique write-in of all write-ins. Yeah. And
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: here it goes. It says, say the name after. Okay. Okay.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: This is a responsibility right here.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: Hey, real quick, before you read this, this is pretty
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: cool that we get to do this. It is very
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: cool that we get.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: To do this. All right. From the first semi-awkward side
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: hug at Glory Days to watching you become the best
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: mother in the world, our journey has so far been
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: the greatest joy of my life. I may never be
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: able to make the right choice of what to have
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: for dinner, but I know that I've made the best
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: decision of my life by having you stand by me
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: through everything life throws at us. We may never have
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: it all figured out, but we can at least laugh
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: at the mistakes. I'm glad my sarcasm has rubbed off
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: on you just a little bit. Good. Waking up to
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: you and your son... I already butchered that. I'm so sorry, brother.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Waking up to you and our son reminds me of
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: just how happy... Hey, we're still good. We're still good.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Hit the gong. Hit the gong. Good call, Deke. Good call, Deke.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Waking up to you and our son reminds me of
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: just how happy I am that I get to do
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: life with you. What do you say? Do you want
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: to do it a little more like.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: All right, and this is what happens when you ask
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: this show to help in a proposal. The stadium pulse
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: is so loud, man. It's okay, though, because he knew
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: what he was signing up for. What do you say?
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: What do you say? Do you want to do a
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: little more life together? Lindsay, will you marry me? This
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: is from Matt Welch from Bunker Hill, West Virginia. Say
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: the name after from Matt Welch. Time out, time out.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Did she say yes? Now, what was her name again? Lindsay? Lindsay. So, Lindsay,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: this is now the part I'm sure Matt's on one knee.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: You're probably crying. You're laughing a little bit. She could
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: be pissed. She could be pissed, and we wouldn't blame her.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: That's what you're doing for the proposal? The customer's always right, though.
- 1:21:30Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: The customer's always right. She could be.
- 1:21:36Speaker 7: Say yes! Say yes already, Lindsay!
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Kiss her, Matt!
- 1:21:39Speaker 7: What are you doing?
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: Come on! Kiss her good. Hey, do one of those
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: little dips. Do one of those little dips and then
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: put one on it. And now should we record one
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: in case she said no?
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: Matt, I'm sorry, brother.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: Matt, I'm sorry. It may be due to the reading
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: of Will Compton, but she said no. I would blame
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: it on Matt, if anything.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: In this moment, I take full responsibility.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: As do I.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: For kind of fucking everything up. Yeah. But that's all right.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: He knew what he was signing up for.
- 1:22:27Speaker 6: God.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: I felt so much responsibility in that moment. But I
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: guess that's what you get when you're from Bunker Hill. Oh, no,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: that was out of line. That was out of line.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: Take me home, country road, to the.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: Place I belong. West Virginia, mountain mama. Take me home,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: country road. Take out that trash. Take out that trash, man.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: We'll see you guys next week. Congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations. Have
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: you ever helped in a proposal before, Will?
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: No.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: No, I haven't. And unfortunately, that was us on the platform.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: It'll never happen again. I was sweating for you. I
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: started sweating. When I messed up the second time, I
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: was like, especially on the line, too. Like, what do
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: you say?
- 1:23:28Speaker 7: I was like, right on the part.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: God, what do you say? Do you want to?
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: What do.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: You say? Wait, Chef, what were you thinking?
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: Do we want to do like an actual clean one
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: and edit it in?
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: I think we got to keep it. I think we
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: got to keep it like this. We got to.
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: Right? Couldn't have said it better myself, Deke. That was, yeah.
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: Versus him just on one knee in the living room
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: and Will's like, do you?
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: And he's just standing there like, come on.
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: Lindsay's sitting there.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: And then just a random. Dude, Deke, that was so
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: good when you said, no, hit the gong, hit the gong.
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: It's okay. I'm like, that's going to fix it.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: This is like Pavlov's dog. And I'm like, if Will
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: can just hear the gong, I think he'll reset. And
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: it just messed it up more, man.
- 1:24:20Speaker 7: Oh, my goodness.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: That was very fun. Good zone. Take out the trash.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Thank you for listening. And we love you.
