- 2:17It is summer, ladies and gentlemen, here on Long Island.
- 2:20It's been crazy. The weather's up in down.
- 2:22Over the weekend, it was raining a little bit, then obviously got
- 2:25a little cloudy, and now today it was like in its 70s.
- 2:29We're hearing that it could hit about 85 on Wednesday.
- 2:33So it's been a crazy, crazy time for New York and especially Long
- 2:37Island. As we all know, New York
- 2:39basketball is not something that we need to talk about, but we
- 2:41will as the New York Knicks are absolutely collapse in game
- 2:46number six. Embarrassing.
- 2:48As we all know, Karl Anthony Towns had nothing to say after
- 2:51the game, but that's a whole nother story.
- 2:53I know Tyrese Halberton couldn't shut up after the game, but
- 2:56that's just a whole, you know, a whole segment that we're going
- 3:00to get into. But Jabba, how are you?
- 3:02Good, good. How was golf, by the way?
- 3:04You were playing golf over the weekend.
- 3:06How was that? Yeah, it.
- 3:06Was it was, it was good. We played well.
- 3:09We kind of flighted ourselves out.
- 3:10We shot a 58. So we, we didn't play bad enough
- 3:14to get in the second flight and we weren't good enough to win
- 3:16the first flight. But he's my son's team, so
- 3:19that's all that matters. So that's, that was the only
- 3:21thing going in and he slept through his alarm because he may
- 3:26have had a long night before. I won't, I won't dime my own son
- 3:29out. But he we're literally on the
- 3:32range. And I looked at his buddies and
- 3:34I was like, I go, I text card. I've seen he hasn't moved yet.
- 3:38Like they're like, yeah, we tried to call him and it doesn't
- 3:41answer. And then we're literally hitting
- 3:42balls and they're like, yeah, he just woke up, said he slept
- 3:46through his alarm. And he just, he, he went raw
- 3:49straight to the first tee. And I saw him like four holes
- 3:53passing him on the thing. And I go, how you doing?
- 3:56He goes, I'm here. So it was, no, it was good.
- 4:01The weather was great. Great morning.
- 4:03They got some 91 here today. So I don't, I don't like the
- 4:06weather here and I don't like the summer's here because it's
- 4:09you too humid. The bugs come out.
- 4:11You have all the mosquitoes that come out over here because we
- 4:14live right by the water. And if you have a pool,
- 4:17especially around six, 6:30 at night, those mosquitoes come out
- 4:21and they live right next to the pools.
- 4:23They drop their eggs or whatever the hell they do.
- 4:25And then you have to deal with the the spiders at night.
- 4:29They set up their webs. You can walk right into a spider
- 4:31web. I can't.
- 4:33That's the worst feeling. Yeah, because you're trying to
- 4:36find the spider. You don't know.
- 4:39Yeah, because I especially in the summertime, I wear these
- 4:41hoodies. I wear like these half like half
- 4:44sleeve hoodies. And I'm going in the hoodie
- 4:46because I'm afraid it's hiding in the hood or it's in my
- 4:49second, you know, second shirt under the hoodie.
- 4:52It's it's horrible. It's a horrible feeling.
- 4:53And you see these these spiders, they get so big.
- 4:57They're humongous and. That's why I want to go to, I
- 5:00want to go to Australia, but I've seen pictures of the size
- 5:04of spiders that are over there. And I'm like, I got a buddy that
- 5:07we went to college, he played basketball and I was just like,
- 5:12dude, first of all, the flight sucks.
- 5:14It's long. You gain a day and lose a day
- 5:16back and forth and I'm like, man, but you got some animals
- 5:19over there, dog that I I don't know if I even want to come in.
- 5:22Have you ever checked out the spider crickets?
- 5:25They're some of the ugliest bugs you'll ever see.
- 5:28What a spider cricket. Yes, it's, it's shaped like a
- 5:31spider, but it's a cricket. It jumps.
- 5:34It's ugly, man. It's like a cricket.
- 5:36But it's not a cricket. It's a spider.
- 5:38It looks like a spider and it OPS and they're huge.
- 5:41They're ginormous. Yes.
- 5:44I if you're afraid, yeah, they're, they're really gross.
- 5:46And they're, they're embedded here in Long Island.
- 5:49They're all over the place. If you have yes, if you have
- 5:52like a cellar. Oh, yes.
- 5:55They, they make a weirder sound and they like, they communicate
- 5:58in a different way. It's kind of like a click, like
- 6:01a clicking sound. It it's they're ugly, ugly
- 6:04things. And this is the time of year
- 6:06when they come out and when it gets really warm and muggy out,
- 6:10they're even worse. And if you get one in your
- 6:13house, they like they double like in weeks.
- 6:17So you got to make sure, Oh, they buy 2.
- 6:20Yes, absolutely. They do buy 2 and they're bad
- 6:22too. So you want to stay the hell
- 6:24away from spider crickets. And by the way, if you kill
- 6:27them, it's like a green like stuff like that ooze that comes
- 6:31out of them. It's really.
- 6:32Are they like 2? Like where if you kill them,
- 6:34like sometimes they drop their eggs and that's how they like
- 6:38dude, they say sometimes that's what happens.
- 6:40They're ugly, ugly things. If you don't like crickets and
- 6:45you don't call them. Sprickets.
- 6:46Sprickets. But they're, they're called,
- 6:48they are. They're sprickets.
- 6:49They're spider crickets and, and you see a lot of them here on
- 6:52Long Island and like I say, they double up.
- 6:54So if you find one in your house, that means you have about
- 6:5720 of them and they're outing somewhere.
- 6:59So if you have a spider cricket in your house, any Long
- 7:02Islanders or New Yorkers, you probably have a bunch of them
- 7:06and they breed. So do you spray for?
- 7:08Them, that's what they say. I mean, and I've, I've never had
- 7:11them in in my place, but I've seen them before and like I say
- 7:15it, that like I said, they multiply no matter where you
- 7:18are. And and they do live outside,
- 7:20but they mainly live inside your house.
- 7:22So they like to be in dark places so you can't spot them.
- 7:26And at night time they usually sneak out.
- 7:28They're under your bed or they're under your chair.
- 7:31And and dude, they're the ugliest things.
- 7:33They were really, really ugly. So if you don't like spiders and
- 7:36you don't like crickets, you're not going to like them.
- 7:38And they do bite. You're right.
- 7:39I've never been bitten by one of them.
- 7:41I know Kevin probably has and I'm sure people that you've
- 7:44known probably have seen them and bit you before, but I
- 7:48they're not the the nicest animal or whatever the hell they
- 7:52are that insect and whatever they call them.
- 7:54The New York Knicks were eliminated by the Pacers in game
- 7:57six, losing 125 to one O 8. Pascal Siakam was named Eastern
- 8:03Conference Finals MVP, averaging 24.8 points per game, 5 rebounds
- 8:10and 3.5 assists as well in the series.
- 8:13When Siakam was receiving the award, Tyrese Halpern approached
- 8:17the podium thinking he was going to get it, but they gave it to
- 8:23Siakam instead. In Game 6, the Pacers shot 51.5%
- 8:28from three, outscored the Knicks 23 to 6 on fast break points,
- 8:33and forced 18 turnovers by the Knicks, scoring 34 points off
- 8:38those turnovers. The Pacers had seven different
- 8:42players scored double digits in in game number six.
- 8:46Only two Knicks starters, OG and Anobi and Jalen Bronson hit
- 8:50multiple multiple 3 pointers, both shooting 2 for seven.
- 8:54The Knicks shot 28.1% from 3 and 65.4% from the free throw line.
- 9:03Jaylen Bronson said he is proud of the team and says he is super
- 9:08confident the Knicks will win a championship with this core of
- 9:12players. Now first of all, I I just want
- 9:15to give a shout out to Jaylen Bronson.
- 9:16He's had a sensational season. He was that really, he was every
- 9:21anything you want from a superstar.
- 9:22He was a leader. He went out there and he played
- 9:25his guts off and there's nothing you could say bad about Jaylen
- 9:28Bronson. The problem right now with this
- 9:31team doesn't lie on Jaylen Bronson's shoulders.
- 9:35What it really lies on with ownership and management because
- 9:40Karl Anthony Towns is not the guy.
- 9:42I'm sorry, he's not the guy. Karl Anthony Towns, over the
- 9:46last couple of years, you saw him with the Timberwolves and
- 9:48now you got a chance to see him with the Knicks.
- 9:50He doesn't show up in the big game.
- 9:51Now everybody's going to say he didn't have such a bad Game 6.
- 9:55When you look at numbers, numbers are deceiving because
- 9:59Karl Anthony Towns cannot hit free throws in the important
- 10:02parts of the game and he's had problems throughout this series
- 10:07shooting up threes, anything from 23 feet or further, he
- 10:12cannot hit a lick and it's been a big problem.
- 10:15This guy's one of the best shooting big men in the NBA and
- 10:18he had problems throughout this series hitting a three pointer.
- 10:21I sit here today and I got I got some things to say about Tyrese
- 10:25Halliburton and I'll say it very nicely and just a few moments.
- 10:30I look at this team and if you're a New York Knicks fan and
- 10:33you believe that this team is good enough to win a
- 10:36championship, you guys are blind because there's a lot of
- 10:40problems with this bench and there was a lot of problems with
- 10:43some of the starters that the Knicks have been starting all
- 10:46season long. Josh Hart is a great player.
- 10:49He's not a starter. He's a bonafide 6 man.
- 10:52Now. Throughout the regular season he
- 10:54was great as a starter. He really was.
- 10:56But that's because he is playing, you know, talent that
- 11:00is not as good as the talent that you play in the playoffs
- 11:02and when you play. Would you trade Kat then?
- 11:05Or at least. I, I think the, I think the
- 11:08Knicks are going to have to look at it.
- 11:09I mean, obviously Karl Anthony Towns is getting $50 million a
- 11:14year, a little bit more than 50 million Now making that kind of
- 11:17money. The Knicks are going to have to
- 11:19trade for a guy that's making somewhere around that money or
- 11:22two guys that are making somewhere around that tier of
- 11:24money. Now, I do believe Karl Anthony
- 11:27Towns is a good player. I don't know.
- 11:28I don't know if he's a playoff player and I don't know if he's
- 11:30a secondary player. When it comes to winning a
- 11:33championship, he's more like a third guy.
- 11:35He's a Kevin Love, a guy that can do all the things that you
- 11:39want a big man to do. Kevin Love was obviously one of
- 11:42the best rebounders in the league when he went over there
- 11:44to the Cavaliers. Remember when he played over
- 11:48there out on the West Coast side and remember when he came from
- 11:50UCLA, This guy was one of the best shooting big man that came
- 11:55out of college. Now when he came into the NBA,
- 11:57he transitioned when he from Minnesota and then obviously
- 12:00when he went to the Cavaliers, he became one of those elite two
- 12:05way players that you want your big man to be.
- 12:07Karl Anthony Towns is not a two way player.
- 12:10Karl Anthony Towns can't defend and so when you have Jalen
- 12:14Bronson on the court with Carl Anthony Towns, you have a lack
- 12:16of defense and it's been a big problem in this series and
- 12:20throughout the playoffs. You seen it when Carl Anthony
- 12:22Towns is playing with Jalen Bronson.
- 12:24They don't have that two-dimensional type of game
- 12:28where they're going to be able to compete with a Pacer team
- 12:30that is going to have a starting five that are two-dimensional
- 12:33players. Now you talk about Pascal
- 12:35Siakam, he's a great player. He really is.
- 12:37Now, is he a superstar player? No.
- 12:40But what Pascal Siakam does is he's a great all around player.
- 12:45He's really traditionally changed his game.
- 12:48He's become a better three-point shooter.
- 12:51Remember when he went to the Pacers, he wasn't a good
- 12:53three-point shooter with the Toronto Raptors.
- 12:55As he's slowly over the last couple of years with the Pacers
- 12:59really developed a shot and has become a better shooter in the
- 13:02NBA. Also, a better free throw
- 13:04shooter in the NBA, when you have guys that are multifaceted
- 13:09when it comes to offensive style of games, you see teams like the
- 13:13Pacers really give problems to teams like the Knicks.
- 13:17The Knicks are dependent on guys like Karl Anthony Towns and
- 13:21Jalen Bronson. If they're not scoring and OG
- 13:23Anobe's having a bad shooting game or Mikhail Bridges is
- 13:26having a bad shooting game or Josh Hart's making many, many
- 13:30mistakes. And I know a lot of people are
- 13:32going to blame Josh Hart. This isn't all of Josh Hart.
- 13:36I know everybody wants to point their fingers.
- 13:38Oh, it's Josh Hart's fault. He made so many mistakes.
- 13:40He made a lot of mistakes. I don't think he should be
- 13:43taking all of the the the bad credit.
- 13:47And I mean, it's not even credit, just the bad, you know,
- 13:51surplus of what happened in this series.
- 13:54What happened in this series really stood right there
- 13:58smacking your face. It was coaching.
- 14:00Rick Carlisle is a better coach than Tom Thibodeau and anybody
- 14:04that doesn't believe it, well just look at the transition of
- 14:081/2 to the other. Rick Carlisle just plays a
- 14:12different style of offense and remember Rick Carlisle was a
- 14:15more of a defensive sided coach. He's become more more over the
- 14:20last couple of years as a 2 dimensional coach and he's
- 14:22really started this high paced offense that the NBA has not
- 14:27seen over the last couple of years.
- 14:30The last time I've seen this high paced offense, it was the
- 14:33OK C Thunder with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James
- 14:37Harden and Serge Ibaka. The the league really
- 14:40traditionally plays 1/2 court game.
- 14:43When you watch this team play, they play full press offense all
- 14:48game long. Tyrese Halliburton and then you
- 14:51have all these other guy Naismith, all these guys,
- 14:55they're all fast guys, young guys.
- 14:57They can go up and down the court.
- 14:58Even their bigs, Pasco Siakam is a fast guy that can go up and
- 15:02down a court. He's not very heavy.
- 15:04He's not dragging a load like Karl Anthony Towns is.
- 15:07And he's going to be able to compete with all these guys that
- 15:10the Knicks have because look, OG and Anobi is a good he is a good
- 15:14two or he's a good three. Whatever position he's going to
- 15:17play, depending on the team that he's playing against, he's not a
- 15:20fast guy. McHale Bridges is probably the
- 15:23most athletic three or two the Knicks have.
- 15:27But again, they're the Knicks were a complete mismatch to a
- 15:31team that had enough to beat them.
- 15:35Now, Tyrese Halliburton, I got to say something about Tyrese
- 15:38Halliburton after the game. He said some derogatory things
- 15:43about the New York Knicks. First of all, he said New York's
- 15:46his bitch. And I, I, I understand he wants
- 15:50to be a villain. That's what he wants to be.
- 15:52He wants to be a bad guy. He wants Nick fans not to like
- 15:55him. As we all know Trey Young has
- 15:58done over the last couple of years and he's been one of those
- 16:00guys that New York Knicks couldn't stand.
- 16:04But when you go out there and you have your girlfriend, your
- 16:06fiance out there on social media saying go home, New York, go
- 16:10home and go New York, go New York home.
- 16:12Or whatever the hell he was she was doing.
- 16:15And that Tyrese Halliburton cracking jokes and saying that
- 16:18the Knicks are not as good as as good as as good A-Team as
- 16:24everybody thought they were going to be going into the
- 16:25series, that they were the better team, that the Knicks are
- 16:28so overrated. He he said a lot of interesting
- 16:31things when he sat with Charles and he sat with Kenny and he sat
- 16:36with Shaquille O'Neal and Ernie Johnson.
- 16:40It was so disrespectful because he didn't say congratulations to
- 16:43a great season from the New York Knicks.
- 16:45Jalen Brunson went out there, he congratulate Indiana.
- 16:48You saw all the Knicks, Josh Hart coming out and saying that
- 16:52they were the better team, they deserved to win.
- 16:54All the Knicks pretty much went out there and said what they
- 16:57they felt. But Tyrese Halper and so unjust,
- 17:01just a piece of garbage that he went out there and did whatever
- 17:04he could to throw the Knicks under the bus as a professional
- 17:07organization. And he really, really before the
- 17:09series even came, came up or even came to that point that
- 17:13they were playing the New York Knicks.
- 17:14He said that the New York Knicks fans were crap.
- 17:18And he said Madison Square Gardens, one of the most
- 17:20overrated players, are places to play in all of the NBA.
- 17:24Meanwhile, you have there was a lot of players over the last
- 17:29couple of years, Dirk Nowinski, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant,
- 17:33LeBron James, all these guys, Tim Duncan, all these superstar
- 17:37players that have come out and said that Madison Square Garden
- 17:41is one of the best places to play in all of sports.
- 17:44You have this guy who, by the way, is one of the most
- 17:47overrated superstars in the NBAI don't care what anybody says,
- 17:50you're going to look at his numbers.
- 17:51You want to say that in game four, I think it was where he
- 17:54put up those ridiculous triple double numbers and everybody
- 17:58says, who have we ever seen a player have no fouls and put up
- 18:01those kind of numbers? 3011 and whatever it was, 15,
- 18:04whatever the numbers were, he had sensational numbers.
- 18:08The problem with Tyrese Halpern is not his game, it's the way he
- 18:11perceives his game to be. He is not Jalen Bronson, he's
- 18:15not Shy Alexander. He's not as consistent as these
- 18:20players are offensively. He's either hot or he's not.
- 18:23What did he score in that final game against the Knicks in game
- 18:26six? What was it, 1820 points?
- 18:29I don't know the numbers right in front of me, but it was
- 18:31somewhere around those numbers. He didn't have one of his great
- 18:33games. He didn't put up the ridiculous
- 18:36numbers. As a matter of fact, he scored
- 18:38eight points going into the fourth quarter.
- 18:40He scored 10 points with the last 8 minutes of the game
- 18:44against the New York Knicks. He didn't have one of those
- 18:46fabulous games and I'm not surprised that Siakam won it
- 18:50because he was the better two way player in this series.
- 18:53But you you go back and you wonder what Rick Carlisle has
- 18:57said over the last couple of weeks with the New York Knicks
- 19:00and saying that the Knicks are flawed.
- 19:02They are flawed. The New York Knicks are a
- 19:04floored offensive team. They depend too much on
- 19:08isolation basketball with Jaylen Bronson and Carl Anthony Towns.
- 19:11If these guys are not playing at the top of game.
- 19:14And by the way, I got to give a shout out to the Pacers defense
- 19:17on Jaylen Bronson in game six. They shut down Jaylen Bronson.
- 19:22They played so very well. They had two guys defend him
- 19:26throughout the game. They put a lot of pressure on
- 19:27him and that put Jaylen Bronson in a in that position where he
- 19:30was forcing up shots and giving the ball away because there was
- 19:33no pick and roll at the top of the key.
- 19:35Because they were two, they were they were playing the trap.
- 19:39They were two one-dimensional offensively, the New York
- 19:42Knicks. And once Rick Carlisle figured
- 19:44out how they were going to run their offense and how they were
- 19:47going to run their offense to Jalen Brunson, they shut down
- 19:50Jalen Brunson in certain specific parts of the game where
- 19:54it put the Knicks in a position where they couldn't put the ball
- 19:57in the Nets. Carl even says in the comments
- 19:59section the Knicks defense was bad all games second-half of
- 20:01game six it was bad all game. Carl and their.
- 20:04Defense has been horrible for the last two seasons.
- 20:07It's been bad. But that just goes what she
- 20:09said. Errol was like Rick Carlisle saw
- 20:11how they were going to run it and he made the adjustments in
- 20:14game. It wasn't like they had a plan
- 20:16going into it and OK, well, now we're going to kind of see how
- 20:19they are running things. I think and and you hit the nail
- 20:22on the head. It's the way that Rick Carlisle
- 20:24and and you said in the coaching aspect of it is where he made
- 20:28the adjustment, seeing how they're going to do it.
- 20:30And you just gave credit to the defenses because they made the
- 20:33adjustments of what they're going to do.
- 20:35I mean, he he went eight for 18. He still scored, you know, what
- 20:38was 21 points Brunson or whatever.
- 20:41But you know, between those three guys, those eighteen shots
- 20:44for Brunson, it was 19 for Cat and 18 for OG.
- 20:48And but he knew it's like, OK, I'm going to change our
- 20:51defensive schematic to be able to take that away.
- 20:54And, and and you're right, Rick Carlisle made the adjustments in
- 20:59the game. He's the better coach.
- 21:01Yeah, that Tibbs didn't do. Yeah, you're right.
- 21:03And Tom Thibodeau, and by the way, Tom Thibodeau should not
- 21:05have a job after this series. I don't care what anybody says.
- 21:09And a lot of Nick fans say well, have said well, he deserves a
- 21:12second chance because he took them to the Eastern Conference
- 21:14Finals. I think this is the furthest Tom
- 21:17Thibodeau is going to take the New York Knicks.
- 21:19I don't see him taking him any further than this.
- 21:21He took the Bulls as far as the Eastern Conference Finals.
- 21:24I just don't believe this team has enough to get over the hump.
- 21:29They need more bench help. And I just think Carl Anthony
- 21:32Towns isn't that secondary offensive player that's going to
- 21:35give you 2 dimensional basketball.
- 21:36Giannis would be a perfect fit. I know a lot of people and there
- 21:39are stories coming out that Giannis wants to come to a big
- 21:42market. As a matter of fact, the New
- 21:44York Knicks will be probably probably 1 of the top three
- 21:47favorites of landing him in the offseason.
- 21:49But the Knicks are going to have to give up a significant amount,
- 21:52maybe even Josh Hart or even Mikkel Bridges in a tray with
- 21:55Karl Anthony Towns and maybe McBride and maybe a draft pick
- 21:58to get somebody like of that magnitude.
- 22:00But again, I think they need more than just Giannis.
- 22:03I think they're going to need at least another bench help or
- 22:06another two bench help off the bench to give him enough
- 22:10consistency because it's been a problem.
- 22:13And Tom Tippet, I don't know if he's the guy because, because he
- 22:16really just ran nine guys throughout this series.
- 22:18Finally, the last three games of the series, he kind of
- 22:21transitioned and he started playing different guys and, and,
- 22:24and added to the rotation. It was a big problem throughout
- 22:28this series. And I just he's not the guy
- 22:30they're going to have to figure out is, is he the guy that's
- 22:33going to take him to the promised land or he has he taken
- 22:36us as far as he can? And maybe you move elsewhere,
- 22:40maybe you look at somebody else. So that went to the Cavaliers,
- 22:43where their defense has been as bad over the last couple of
- 22:47years without him. Or do they bring in a guy that,
- 22:50like Malone, that's been successful and won a
- 22:52championship with the Nuggets or somebody else?
- 22:55There are guys out there that are going to be available that
- 22:58are probably better fit for this team.
- 23:01And by the way, this rotation and the way he runs his defense,
- 23:04it doesn't work. And it's not going to work
- 23:06against a speedy young Pacer team.
- 23:09And this Pacer team is going to be here for a long, long time.
- 23:12They don't even have another superstar they're going to have
- 23:15money to to spend if they could go after Giannis, even though
- 23:18after what Mr. Halliburton did to him and and what was it?
- 23:22The first round the. First round, I don't know if
- 23:25he's going to wave his no trade clause to go over there, but
- 23:29Indiana's going to have the money to go after somebody like
- 23:31Giannis, maybe somebody else, maybe another superstar that
- 23:34becomes available. But Giannis is the big name.
- 23:37That's going to be the guy that's everybody everybody's
- 23:39going to be gunning for. But there are stories coming out
- 23:42and I saw I saw two writers beat writers very well respected in
- 23:46the game that said that the Knicks will definitely be one of
- 23:49the top three locations that Giannis will like to play for.
- 23:54Going back to what I was saying about the defense too, with
- 23:56that, that Carl was saying that Pacers had probably 60 to 65% of
- 24:00their threes wide open, like there wasn't even a defender
- 24:03like even 5 feet from them. And that's I think the biggest
- 24:05issue in that game, in addition to the transition defense that
- 24:07we were talking about, like they're not getting back on
- 24:09defense. And that benefits for the Pacers
- 24:11and what they like to do. And then on the on the other
- 24:13end, Jalen Bronson, I think what really hindered him was that.
- 24:17Kind of half press. It wasn't, it wasn't a full
- 24:19court press all the time. It was kind of 1/2 press and he
- 24:21got bracketed, he got double team.
- 24:23And I do think Rick Carlisle definitely deserves a lot of
- 24:25credit for that because he really made him uncomfortable in
- 24:28certain aspects. And Jalen Brunson when he's not
- 24:30spacing the floor. The Knicks offense isn't going
- 24:32to get anywhere. And OG and Mitchell Robinson
- 24:35were the only two starters that play well.
- 24:37I agree with you on Towns. Even though his stats look sexy
- 24:39on paper, they're not. He was very inefficient
- 24:42throughout that game. Some of his decision making with
- 24:44the freeze was if he is defense was horrible all game too and
- 24:47Josh Hart disappeared. He made a lot of mistakes.
- 24:50Josh Hart made a tremendous amount of mistakes.
- 24:53I'm not willing to go after Mikhail Bridges.
- 24:56Mikhail Bridges chased Halliburton around around
- 24:59screen, didn't come off the court.
- 25:01I'm talking more on offense, not defense.
- 25:03Well, The thing is, how are you supposed to be an offensive
- 25:06threat when your job is to chase around?
- 25:09Let's face it, he's talking the way that he's playing.
- 25:12He's a top ten player in the world right now.
- 25:14I disagree. I disagree.
- 25:16I don't and I think you have to put him above Jalen right now
- 25:20because he just beat him twice. So I would put Jalen right
- 25:24behind Halliburton, probably at 9:00 and 10:00.
- 25:27Albert disappeared in certain games in this series.
- 25:30Well, the reason why he disappeared is Mikhail Bridges a
- 25:33pretty damn good football. Basketball.
- 25:34Player. Well, guess what?
- 25:35Bridges was basically his his shadow and in the second-half
- 25:41they started taking Bridges out for Shamit and Shamit didn't
- 25:44work. And we could talk about Tibbs
- 25:45rotations. But the thing that really
- 25:46bothered me, you know why though, so many of those threes
- 25:49were open? Well, every time they were on
- 25:50Karl Anthony Towns, that was a wide open because Karl Anthony
- 25:54Towns decided to go underneath every single screen and not
- 25:57cover the guy and not even try to fight it after getting fouls
- 26:00trying to fight over screens earlier in the series.
- 26:03Because he's slow footed and not good at important parts of the
- 26:07game that are necessary to run a Tom Thibodeau type of a team.
- 26:11Plus, he banged his knee in the second quarter.
- 26:13They still left him in the. Game I don't want to I don't
- 26:15want to F and hear about his knee.
- 26:17Everyone's banged up this time of the season.
- 26:19It was not bad enough that he couldn't walk.
- 26:21It wasn't that bad enough that he couldn't run.
- 26:23He's just making a lot of faces out there and look, he makes
- 26:25interesting faces. See lots of makes interesting
- 26:27movements. He's a free personality.
- 26:29We all know that about him. But on defense, he killed the
- 26:32Knicks and I am not willing to say that the Thibodeau scheme is
- 26:36bad against the Pacers because in theory, it's the right type
- 26:38of defense to stop the Pacers. You're not fast enough to stay
- 26:41with them running. You switch every single time.
- 26:44And if you have guys that can switch and can rotate, then you
- 26:47don't have to catch up to these guys running you off the court
- 26:50and it slows them down. Power to Rick Carlisle for
- 26:54making Brunson's life a living hell the entire series.
- 26:57Smart coach, but the other guys have to step up.
- 27:00They didn't on offense and that's Carl Anthony Towns
- 27:03department. They didn't on defense.
- 27:05But you're blaming this all on Carl Anthony Towns This.
- 27:08Is. It's not just Carl Anthony.
- 27:10Towns, it's not. If your anchor is not rotating
- 27:15and not stepping up, it's like it doesn't even matter what the
- 27:18other guys are doing. And a guy like Josh Hart, it
- 27:22seemed like he didn't know where his help was.
- 27:24He didn't trust the guys next to him.
- 27:26And when you see Hart going well, he knows where everyone's
- 27:29going to be on the court. He knows all those things.
- 27:31He. Plays.
- 27:32This type of mind game for other teams.
- 27:34I think there's a lot of players that are very selfish when they
- 27:37get the ball in their hands, and you can see that with the
- 27:39Knicks. They take the ball down, they
- 27:41don't pass the ball. How many passes that we saw
- 27:44throughout this series, the Pacers were actually moving the
- 27:47ball around the perimeter until they found the open guy or the
- 27:50alley oop. I mean, OB Topping was all over
- 27:53the place with the alley Oops. You didn't see that enough with
- 27:55Mitchell Robinson. He's so athletic.
- 27:57He finally got his feet under him.
- 27:59Why don't we see more of that? The alley oops.
- 28:01Why didn't we see more of that with Karl Anthony Towns?
- 28:04He's athletic. He's an athletic big man and
- 28:06he's not as athletic as Mitchell Robinson, but he's athletic and
- 28:09OB, OG and Anobi. OG and Anobi is a great dunker.
- 28:13Why don't we see more of OG and Anobi?
- 28:15He was hot and cold throughout this series.
- 28:17He wasn't really in it offensively.
- 28:19He played fantastic defense in some parts of the game and then
- 28:23disappeared when he was on the court.
- 28:25This guy. He had a tough assignment, man.
- 28:27But I that's, that's an excuse. You, you keep making these
- 28:30excuses. No, it's tough or not.
- 28:32You got to go out there and play the game.
- 28:34Take. Those two guys, the reason why
- 28:36they got those two guys is they're two of the best 3 and D
- 28:39wings in all of the NBA because of their size and length and
- 28:43Bridges ability to stay with a little bit faster.
- 28:45Have you ever heard defense wins championships?
- 28:48Well look if they they just didn't have like they had to put
- 28:51OG on Siakam because they don't have a four because Towns
- 28:54couldn't do it when Robinson was out there and then they played
- 28:57the smaller lineup where OG had to guard the four.
- 29:00And OG is A3 or A2 and he can do it but not against every four
- 29:04and Siakam is a great 4. Kawhi Leonard could do it.
- 29:08We we try to compare OG and Anobi, that's fine.
- 29:12I'm just saying when Kawhi was the same age as OG and Anobi, he
- 29:16was defending a lot of fours, the best fours in the league.
- 29:19And everybody wants to compare OG Anobi to Kawhi Leonard.
- 29:22Well, I'm just saying that's what people want to do.
- 29:26So if you're going to go out there and say, well, OG's the
- 29:28new Kawhi Leonard, well, he's going to have to go out there
- 29:31and produce. Siaka's a good player, but he's
- 29:33not Tim Duncan. He's not those kind of guys.
- 29:37And I've seen Kawhi Leonard, when he left the Spurs, at some
- 29:40points he was defending Tim Duncan.
- 29:42At some points he was defending some of the best athletic fours
- 29:45in the league. I've seen him guard Giannis and
- 29:48Joel Embiid at some certain points.
- 29:51So that's a that's an excuse. OG and a newbie.
- 29:54Nobody needs to show up in the big games and play shut down
- 29:58defense. No matter who it is.
- 29:59Whoever's he face is, he's facing in front of him.
- 30:02It's an excuse. And I'm going to tell you this
- 30:04right now. Nick fans got to stop making
- 30:06excuses for this team. This is not Josh Hart's fault.
- 30:09I know a lot of Nick fans on social media wants to say, well,
- 30:12Josh takes responsibility. It's Josh's fault, it's
- 30:15everybody's fault. And Jalen Brunson's got to stop
- 30:18up doing certain things at the end of the game in the fourth
- 30:21quarter. When you're trying to play catch
- 30:23up, why are you isolating yourself over and over and over
- 30:26again? Use your teammates, use McHale
- 30:29Bridges, use OG on an OB, Karl Anthony Towles or Mitchell
- 30:32Robinson. And by the way, Jalen Bronson
- 30:35and Karl Anthony Towns cannot play on the same court together
- 30:38at the same time. If that can't work, you have to
- 30:41trade one of them. And it's not going to be Jalen
- 30:43Bronson. It's going to be Karl Anthony
- 30:45Towns because he's he's getting paid 52 1/2, $1,000,000 and he's
- 30:49getting overpaid because he's not a winner.
- 30:52He's never going to be a winner. Yet Nick fans got to understand
- 30:55that. And for the fact that Jalen
- 30:57Bronson came out and said that this roster can win a
- 31:00championship, he's lying to you because there were stories
- 31:02coming out that a lot of these players did not get along with
- 31:06Karl Anthony Towns. Yeah, I was going to ask you,
- 31:08Jabba, did you see that came out, you know, almost
- 31:10immediately, like it was like a can story just waiting for it to
- 31:15happen in the Athletic. And then they just added a
- 31:17paragraph on like, and then the Knicks lost in game six.
- 31:20Like they were ready to get through the hit piece on Towns.
- 31:23You see any of that? Yeah, I, I, I read and I mean,
- 31:27I've seen scuttlebutt about it, obviously, you know, just on
- 31:31social and then obviously articles.
- 31:34But I, I think it's, it's 100% right.
- 31:37Because it, there, there was kind of AI don't know if it was
- 31:41a battle, like who's the, the BMOC, the big man on campus, you
- 31:46know what I'm saying? You always have those type of
- 31:47personalities where sometimes it can work together, sometimes it
- 31:51doesn't. And I just think they're 2
- 31:54completely different stars in their capacity where sometimes
- 31:59those, they just don't work, you know, and that's, we kind of
- 32:02seen it. And I, I think that's a huge
- 32:05part of it too. And especially, you know, if, if
- 32:08they're making a point to write an article about it, there's
- 32:11obviously you hear it once you're like, eh, then you hear
- 32:14it a couple times and then it keeps going.
- 32:17Then you're like, well, there must be some type of truth to
- 32:19it. Obviously we're not in the
- 32:20locker room, we don't see it, but you can kind of see it out
- 32:24on the court. Like obviously they're both
- 32:25still getting their shots. They're still, you know, doing
- 32:28it that they they have done in their career.
- 32:31But I just think with what he does in in the type of team that
- 32:36it is it especially if the articles that were already
- 32:38created and now they're continuing to get.
- 32:41Legs, Jabba. We've seen this before.
- 32:43Yeah, no, I you. Played.
- 32:44You played with two players that were best friends and hated each
- 32:48other after one got traded over there, and that's Alex Rodriguez
- 32:51and Derek Jeter. And there's no excuses because
- 32:54they had to figure out how to play together, obviously.
- 32:56It wasn't. It wasn't as bad as everybody
- 32:59said it was. I'm sure it wasn't.
- 33:01I'm sure. It wasn't, it wasn't.
- 33:02But when you, that's what happens when you get to like
- 33:06the. Pinnacle.
- 33:08And you have all of these alphas and it's like, OK, I was a stud,
- 33:12now I'm a stud, now I'm a stud, now I'm a stud and you get all
- 33:15of them. It was at one point, and I think
- 33:19when Carrie Wood came over in 2010, I think over half of our
- 33:25starting roster was first round draft picks.
- 33:28So you got all these guys that have had created a great legacy
- 33:33for themselves, whether individually, whether team, all
- 33:37the other stuff and you get all of them.
- 33:39It's it's kind of it becomes a pissing contest a little bit.
- 33:42You know, where it's like you're going like, OK, well, if he did
- 33:46this, I can do this. And if they did this, I can do
- 33:49this. And we've we've seen it on every
- 33:52platform from basketball to football and whatever.
- 33:55And it's like the ones that become very, very successful and
- 33:59create legacies is they figure out a way.
- 34:01It's like I may not invite you to my son's birthday party, but
- 34:05I damn sure wants you next to me on the field or on the court.
- 34:08Like, you want to be cool with the guys, right?
- 34:10100%. That's the thing.
- 34:12Like you could, that's not true. I don't want the Roommates
- 34:16podcast about when they had Julius Randle on and they seemed
- 34:20like they were pretty chilled with each other.
- 34:22Like it was it was like a thing where they didn't have any
- 34:24animosity. Maybe they didn't play well all
- 34:26that well together, but they had the chemistry.
- 34:29There's no chemistry with Karl Anthony Towns.
- 34:31You could see it. It doesn't work.
- 34:35Kyrie Irving, Kyrie Irving, I have the trade.
- 34:38Let's hear it. You want to hear it?
- 34:39So I thought about this a lot. We talked about some of this the
- 34:42other day, but yet you're trading towns and you have to
- 34:47trade OG Ananobi with towns. It's going to be a lot of money.
- 34:51So you have to take back some shit contracts.
- 34:53But I think the two of them together, maybe you throw in a
- 34:55pick and you get Giannis, Antenna, Kupo and the two
- 34:59shittiest contracts on the Bucks, Kuzma and Pat Connor.
- 35:03I like Kuzma and that's Kyle. Kuzma is a good player.
- 35:05Nobody else in the league likes Kuzma.
- 35:07So I don't know why he's a great rebounder, he.
- 35:09Has one of the worst peers. He's still a good rebounder, and
- 35:13you're going to need that against an athletic team like
- 35:15the Pacers. That's fine.
- 35:19Here's the problem. Here's the problem with a lot of
- 35:21people that watch Kyle Kuzma and they're going to not give him
- 35:24the credit that he deserves. Remember, he was drafted by the
- 35:27Nets. Remember that he was drafted by
- 35:29the Nets and then he moved around.
- 35:31Yes, he was drafted by. The Lakers.
- 35:33I only remember the Lakers. No, he was drafted by the Nets
- 35:36if I'm not mistaken. Mistaken Speedy.
- 35:37He was drafted by the Nets, right?
- 35:38It might be some draft right thing.
- 35:40No, it was Kyle Kuzma. He was drafted by the Nets and
- 35:42then check that out. I know Kyle Kuzma was definitely
- 35:46drafted by the Nets and then he he was a journeyman, but he went
- 35:50to the Lakers. He really developed his game.
- 35:52You're right, immediately traded to the Lakers in the legendary
- 35:55Timothy Mozgov Russell trade. That's right.
- 36:00I have a lot of, I have a lot of respect for guys like Kyle Kuzma
- 36:04because he hasn't played on rosters and teams that were
- 36:06really that good. Even that Lakers team that he
- 36:08played with wasn't really that good.
- 36:10Washington sucked everywhere he's gone.
- 36:13The Nets, they, he wasn't there that long.
- 36:15But you know what I'm saying? He's been on bad rosters.
- 36:18He's never played on a good roster where he he has a game
- 36:22where he could put his game in and play his game on that
- 36:24roster, I think. He explained the Bucks then like
- 36:27because he's on the Bucks. I'll tell you, first of all, the
- 36:29second, he really didn't play until the second-half of that
- 36:32season anyways. So we didn't really have a lot
- 36:35of basketball time over there with Giannis and.
- 36:37If the Knicks get him in a deal like that, I'd be, I'd be stoked
- 36:41if he was just, you know, like Kyle.
- 36:42Kushner was a good rebounder for his size.
- 36:44He really is. I think you're you're, you're
- 36:46underrating the type of player that.
- 36:48He is, I think 22 million a year for three, three years of him is
- 36:52a is a little steep and they're going to want to get off that
- 36:54contract though, but I would say half that for him would probably
- 36:57be about right. I will say this, I will say this
- 37:00for all you Knick fans, and I know a lot of Knick fans are
- 37:02upset about this. I I was wearing a Knicks hat and
- 37:05a Knicks jersey the other day, all right, yesterday and I went,
- 37:09I was telling Fish and I was telling speedy how many people
- 37:12came up to me and told, tell, told me tough loss.
- 37:16What do you think? And asking me questions.
- 37:18I actually was giving out show cards where some of these kids
- 37:21thought I was like a celebrity or something like that.
- 37:23Oh my God, Oh, are you going to do?
- 37:26Who are you going to? Are you going to?
- 37:28I was like, what the the hell is going on with you?
- 37:30You have a heart attack or but these kids don't understand that
- 37:34they're just Jalen Brunson fans and and they're call Anthony
- 37:37Towns fans. And they thought, hey, the
- 37:39Knicks choked and this and that the Knicks didn't choke.
- 37:42They just, they didn't play their game and you lost you.
- 37:45They lost that series in game #1 letting this team come back up
- 37:5014 with two minutes left. That was the choke that really
- 37:54cost them this series. If they won that game, they
- 37:57would have went up to 2. They would have went back home
- 38:00and it would have been two Tuesday would have went back
- 38:02home, won that game. They would have been up 32 lost
- 38:05in in Indiana and then went home and possibly won in Game 7 like
- 38:08I predicted. But losing that first game cost
- 38:11the Knicks the series. And that was mistakes by Josh
- 38:14Hart. That was mistakes by Carl
- 38:16Anthony Towns not hitting free throws and OG and no, we missing
- 38:19free throws. All these guys couldn't hit a
- 38:21free throw if they're like the life depended on it in game
- 38:24number six there. How many did call Anthony Towns
- 38:28meant he was horrible You're you're you're a career 92% in
- 38:33the playoffs free throw shooter and you missed 4 free throws in
- 38:38an important Game 6 and yeah but his.
- 38:40Knee was hurting. Here's another thing I want to
- 38:44give a shout out to our our, our boy over here, and he's been
- 38:48speaking a lot. Carl over here saying that Carl
- 38:50Anthony Towns was getting fouled a lot in his game and throughout
- 38:53this series. I've got news for you guys, the
- 38:55refs were not on the Knicks side in the series and I'm not
- 38:58blaming the refs. This isn't this isn't the refs
- 39:01you're. Not the beef.
- 39:02I'm not. It's not the referees.
- 39:04OK, here's the facts. Here's the facts.
- 39:07It didn't go the Knicks way. It doesn't matter if it was in
- 39:09Indiana or if it was in Madison Square Garden.
- 39:12A lot of the calls and everybody's going to say, well,
- 39:14the Knicks had more free throws than the Pacers, but the Pacers
- 39:18got the important free throw chances at the end of games that
- 39:22kept them in the game when they were down or up a significant
- 39:25thinking amount of points. So it was a big problem.
- 39:28And I think again, the NBA or the LJA need to figure out how.
- 39:33I think there should be another referee on the court.
- 39:36It shouldn't be 3. I think there should be 5
- 39:39referees on the court seeing everything go on.
- 39:41And you should be able be able to challenge at least three
- 39:45times in a game three times. Not if you get one call, you
- 39:48should be able to challenge three times because you saw in
- 39:50this series, after you use your your two challenges early in the
- 39:54game, you don't get one in the on the 4th.
- 39:56And even if you see it go off another team or another foot or
- 40:00another, you know, finger, you can't get get a chance to call.
- 40:04And the referees, they don't really call a time out to look
- 40:07at every single call at the end of the game, which could cost
- 40:09the team a chance to get the ball back and tie the game.
- 40:12It was a big problem in this series.
- 40:14There are a lot of mistakes, but Rick Carlisle is the better
- 40:17coach. That is why the younger, faster
- 40:21and more athletic Pacers team beat a better Knick team.
- 40:24The Knicks were. More talented, I believe, when
- 40:28it comes to 1:00 to 5:00. But the Pacers, what they did
- 40:31against the Knicks is they shut down the offense of Jalen
- 40:35Bronson and made the other guys try to beat them and the other
- 40:37guys couldn't do it and they got tired.
- 40:39If you saw in game five and Game 6, the Knicks were much more
- 40:43tired and everybody's going to say, well, the Knicks won by 16
- 40:46or 15 in game #5 The Pacers were not working really hard in the
- 40:51fourth quarter. They let the Knicks run away
- 40:53because they wanted to win it in Indiana and the Knicks had a
- 40:56chance to shut everybody up. I do.
- 40:58I. Kicked their ass in game five.
- 41:00They were winning by double. Dude, the Pacers look like they
- 41:03stepped away in the fourth quarter and let the Knicks hit
- 41:06shots at the shots they had open shots.
- 41:08In Square Garden that tyree tyree.
- 41:11This makes my pecker hard. Is got to those guys because I
- 41:15think those guys can be shook and I don't really hang on.
- 41:17We're going to talk about them going into the next round in the
- 41:20next segment in a second. But before we get off that, I
- 41:23wanted to to tell you, you know why I think they should move OG,
- 41:26because I don't think they should move Mikhail.
- 41:28It's really one of those two guys that would have to be
- 41:31included in a deal. And Giannis, look, the Spurs and
- 41:34the Rockets have a lot more to offer the Bucks than the Knicks
- 41:38do. But the Knicks might have the
- 41:40advantages. Giannis might want to go to a
- 41:42place where there's Greek people.
- 41:44I don't know if there are Greek towns in San Antonio and
- 41:47Houston. I know there are lots of Greek
- 41:48people in New York. I know I was driving by a.
- 41:51Greek, his brother played in New York, his brother played in New
- 41:54York, That's one. And #2 his brother has a condo
- 41:58still here in New York, so it's not.
- 42:00Anything that pushes it towards it, I'd love it.
- 42:02So here's the reason why you use OG instead.
- 42:05You use OG instead because Mikhail Bridges plays every
- 42:08single game and OG is an injury risk like you wouldn't believe.
- 42:11And you have to get rid of the injury risk if they're going to
- 42:14be around the same price because Mikhail's going to get an
- 42:16extension around the same price. Now if they don't bite on that
- 42:19and Giannis goes somewhere where they can get bigger return for
- 42:22Milwaukee. I can't believe, you know, we
- 42:26got a new intern. Zach has been reading my mind.
- 42:28That's the second time Kevin Durant for catch straight up.
- 42:32Too much, actually, too much. I don't think so, because here's
- 42:36the deal. Durant only has one year left.
- 42:38After that, he's. 38 years old or 37 years old?
- 42:41Listen, listen, it's for one year.
- 42:44It's for one year, but you get off of a contract that he, Towns
- 42:47is going to be making. He has four years left, 3 + a
- 42:50player option that last year is 65,000,000.
- 42:53If you're paying Towns in four years with the way he is now
- 42:56defensively, 65,000,000, that is danger zone Kenny Loggins type
- 43:01shit. Errol, you've got to get off of
- 43:03that. Stop bringing Kenny involved
- 43:04with this. Into the danger zone.
- 43:07I love Kenny Loggins, all his music.
- 43:10I listen to every single one of his tracks.
- 43:12I'm a big Kenny Loggins fan. I I grew up listening to Kenny
- 43:16when I was a kid. He's one of my favorite artists
- 43:19in the in the early 90s. So I listen to every single
- 43:22Kenny Loggins. So I love.
- 43:23Has anybody seen Over the Top with Sylvester Stallone's arm
- 43:28wrestling movie? Yes, that's a fantastic.
- 43:30He's got two hit songs from that movie.
- 43:33I love that movie by the way. A Top Gun?
- 43:35Come on, who doesn't like Top Gun?
- 43:37Dirty. What was it, a Footloose?
- 43:39Footloose too. I love all the 80s and 90s
- 43:42movies. Kenny Loggins was big in the 80s
- 43:45and 90s. I did that musical in in theater
- 43:49in my senior year of high school.
- 43:51Yeah. I love you, who would you play?
- 43:53I was actually the dance coordinator for the.
- 43:55Minute oh stop it. I love it.
- 44:00I I definitely have to see Jabba get down one of these days.
- 44:03Definitely. It was, it was, it was
- 44:04fantastic. Other than it was, it was.
- 44:07The funny story, though. It was still on Broadway.
- 44:09Pulled it out of my ass. We had to call New York to get
- 44:13actually the rights to actually perform it.
- 44:15Wow. Because it was still, it was
- 44:16still on Broadway when they were doing it.
- 44:19There's one last thing I want to bring up, and I wanted to ask
- 44:21Speedy, this one. Speedy Does Halliburton exceed
- 44:26the hatred of Trey Young now? No, yeah.
- 44:29Not yet. Not yet.
- 44:30Not to me it does not. Yet I think it's.
- 44:32Two years. Two years now, yeah.
- 44:34Not yet. Trey Young.
- 44:35He did some interesting things after that series against the
- 44:39Hawks, giving the Nick fans the middle finger.
- 44:41I mean, he walked out well. Trey Young is a piece of
- 44:44garbage. I'm not saying that he's, you
- 44:46know, we're, we're relieving all of his sins or anything.
- 44:49I mean. Not.
- 44:50A Halliburton? What kind of a douche?
- 44:53Let's face it. We drove the Atlanta Hawks down
- 44:55to mediocrity now. Don't be surprised if Trey Young
- 44:58gets traded to Indiana because Trey Young could be available in
- 45:02the offseason. I can't believe how much I would
- 45:04hate Indiana if Trey Young. And I, I could see that
- 45:07happening. First of all, Trey Young and
- 45:09Indiana would be a perfect fit. He he gives you that 3 point
- 45:13that you know specialist that they're going.
- 45:15Plays no defense though. I don't.
- 45:16Know, but they're everybody else plays defense so and Trey Young,
- 45:20I mean you probably put Naismith and and maybe somebody else in
- 45:23that trade you get Trey young over there to play with a
- 45:26Halpern. That would be a a really tough
- 45:28offense to beat. And could you imagine those two
- 45:31guys in the back court? Oh my God, those big mouths
- 45:34yelling at the Madison, Madison Square Garden fans all over the
- 45:37country, all all over the the stadium, 15,000 people watching
- 45:42that game and just, they're absolutely giving it, you know,
- 45:45giving them all the business. But Speaking of the business,
- 45:48the Pacers will take on the Thunder in this year's NBA
- 45:52Finals. A battle of two teams that have
- 45:55never won a championship. That means one of them is going
- 45:57to win. Obviously.
- 45:59It is the first matchup of a first time champions we have
- 46:05seen since the Heat in The Mavericks matchup in 2006.
- 46:08The Thunder are the 4th youngest team in NBA history to reach an
- 46:12NBA Finals, with an average age of 25.33 years of age.
- 46:18Shy Gilchrist Alexander has 10 games of over 30 points, 5
- 46:23assists during the playoffs, tied second most in NBA history.
- 46:27The Pacers have scored the most transition points per possession
- 46:32in NBA play in the NBA Playoffs at 8.5 and have also allowed at
- 46:37least at 0.96. The Pacers have seven different
- 46:42players averaging 10 points per game or more, and three of those
- 46:47players are also averaging 3 assists per game.
- 46:50This is the first time in the NBA luxury tax era that both
- 46:55teams in the NBA Finals were under the luxury cap threshold.
- 47:00Well, ladies and gentlemen, this is going to be a series of Shy
- 47:04Alexander. You're going to get a chance to
- 47:06see one of the best offensive players, one of the prolific
- 47:09offensive players we've seen in a very, very long time, go face
- 47:13to face with one of the biggest mouths in right now, the NBA.
- 47:17And Mr. you know, Hal Burton, who I can't stand, what makes
- 47:21this series so fun to watch is Shia Alexander doesn't really
- 47:24speak. He doesn't really say much.
- 47:26He goes out there and lets his game do the talking.
- 47:29Hal Burton lets his mouth do the talking.
- 47:31And sometimes it's it his game actually works with, you know,
- 47:35with his mouth. The problem right now in this
- 47:38series is pretty simple. The OKC Thunder has better
- 47:42secondary offense than the Pacers do.
- 47:45This is a young team. This is a team that runs and
- 47:47guns just like they do. This is a team that has a place
- 47:51two-dimensional basketball just like the Pacers do.
- 47:54But their best player in Shy Alexander is one of their best
- 47:57defenders. And if he's sticking Hal Burton
- 48:00or Naismith or any one of these guys at the perimeter, he's
- 48:04going to be able to shut these guys down.
- 48:06The Knicks didn't have that. They really didn't.
- 48:08Even though you had Mikhail Bridges and OJ and Obi, these
- 48:11are the guys that don't rotate too shy.
- 48:13Alexander plays one-on-one defense.
- 48:15If he's if he's taking Halperton the whole game, that's who he's
- 48:18taking the whole game there. You're not going to see him, you
- 48:21know, change up and and play like Tom Thibodeau plays.
- 48:25This is a different kind of team.
- 48:27And OK, C is very fast. They pass the ball, they share
- 48:30the ball, they all can shoot. And when Williams is playing at
- 48:34the top of his game, they're almost impossible to beat.
- 48:37And they're the hardest team to beat in OK C they're Oklahoma is
- 48:42one of the hardest places to play in the NBII think they've
- 48:45lost in two or three years. I think it was like 15 games at.
- 48:49All they only lost six games in the regular season so far.
- 48:52And I'm talking about in the last three years.
- 48:54Right. And last year, last year, I
- 48:55think they only lost 10 in the regular season all year, and
- 48:57then they've only lost once in the playoffs.
- 48:59That was game one against the Nuggets.
- 49:00This is a team that has you have a very it's very hard to beat
- 49:06them in OK C So I shy Alexander is a great player.
- 49:11He's going to go out there and he's going to put up 30 points
- 49:13every single game. It's going to be hard to stop
- 49:16him like Jaylen you did with Jaylen Bronson because what Shy
- 49:20Alexander does that Jaylen Bronson doesn't do is he can
- 49:24play every style of game. Now he'll he'll go through the
- 49:28pick or he'll go right through you.
- 49:30Jaylen Bronson. Shy Alexander's a lot bigger and
- 49:32a lot stronger than Jaylen Bronson, Jolene Brunson Small,
- 49:36he's 62. Hal Burton's like 6665.
- 49:40Shia Alexander's like 6-6. So you're not going to be able
- 49:43to push this guy around. He can run through you.
- 49:45He's very strong. His upper body strength is
- 49:48unbelievable. He's one of the fastest guys in
- 49:50the NBA to the basket. When he gets a lane, he's very
- 49:54hard to defend and they're going to have problems throughout this
- 49:57series stopping him. But the secondary scoring, like
- 49:59I said, they're just so fun to watch.
- 50:02I, I'll say this, I was not sure about about this team, but
- 50:06adding Hornstein and Hornstein becoming fully healthy in the
- 50:10second-half of the season. This is a completely different
- 50:12team. When Hornstein is on the court,
- 50:15he's a great defender, he's a great rebounder, and he's the
- 50:17enforcer on that court. He doesn't let anybody push Shy
- 50:20Alexander around. And he's going to go out there
- 50:22and he's going to make sure that if Halliburton pushes him
- 50:25around, he's going to be pushing Halliburton around.
- 50:27So I, I think it's this is a great match up there.
- 50:30Two of the the more younger teams in the NBAI think, I think
- 50:35obviously it's a mismatch because I think OK C.
- 50:38If they play at the top of their game and the Pacers can't get in
- 50:41Shy Alexander's head early in this series.
- 50:44It's going to be a long series for the Pacers, but this is
- 50:46going to be a fun series. As much as everybody thinks this
- 50:49is going to be an absolute blowout, I do not believe this
- 50:51is going to be a blowout. This is going to go 5 or 6
- 50:54games. It will and I think they'll be
- 50:57some of these games will be a lot closer than you think.
- 50:59But if OK C goes up to, which I think they could because they're
- 51:04they have the home field advantage, I don't know if the
- 51:06Pacers are going to be able to play catch up against them like
- 51:09they did against the Knicks. It's interesting with
- 51:11Hartenstein the effect that he's had to like defensively.
- 51:13They stay in home defender and Carl was asking in the chat too
- 51:16if the Knicks missed him in that series.
- 51:17I may be doing an extent, but again, I think I don't think one
- 51:20player would have changed the Knicks woes in game for six, but
- 51:22nevertheless. Like, you see what necessarily,
- 51:24if Hornstein was there and he actually played, I think he's a
- 51:27better piece than Carl Anthony Town.
- 51:29Sure. Defensively, it definitely is.
- 51:31I agree with you, Errol, on that and going speedy.
- 51:33Yeah, I was going to say, I was going to say they've gotten the
- 51:36version of the better version of Hartenstein from last year, too.
- 51:39And he's also the veteran leader that this team, very young team
- 51:41needed. You talk about the fourth
- 51:42youngest team to be in the NBA Finals.
- 51:44Hartenstein was with the Clippers for a little while and
- 51:46then he obviously went to the Knicks, was traded to the
- 51:48Knicks. So he has a lot of teams that
- 51:49have gone on at least to win playoff series, not to go to the
- 51:52NBA Finals, but have done well enough in that.
- 51:54And that's what they needed. This, the next step they needed.
- 51:56They lost last year to an experienced veteran Dallas
- 51:59Mavericks team with two of the best playoff players we've seen.
- 52:02Obviously Luka Doncic, we talk about good ideas all the time.
- 52:04And then Kyrie Irving is a great playoff player too.
- 52:06And they needed that kind of adversity.
- 52:08They got that adversity overcome with the Nuggets, and I'm sure
- 52:11Hartenstein had a big reason for that.
- 52:13Now what's interesting matchup wise is the OKC defense on the
- 52:17wings too, because the Pacers have all this bench wing depth
- 52:20that can score. Pacers offense is so overrated
- 52:23and and again, you just mentioned the wing defenders
- 52:26that have they have Dort, they have Hornstein, they have Alex
- 52:29Caruso. This is a good all around
- 52:31defense. They're not going to get easy
- 52:33layups like they did against the Knicks.
- 52:35They're going to make them work for every single point They're
- 52:38going to get in this series and they're going to get tired.
- 52:41By the way, they played a longer series against the Knicks and a
- 52:44more, you know, gut wrenching game.
- 52:46The Knicks did not let them have easy, you know, easy quarters.
- 52:51I mean, these quarters were grueling.
- 52:53The Knicks pushed them around in certain parts of the game.
- 52:55Again, they cannot fall behind against OKC because OKC will run
- 53:00away with the game. They had more hundred, 110 or
- 53:04more point games in the playoffs than any team in basketball.
- 53:07They're the only team that broke 135 points in this in the
- 53:11playoffs. I think they're the, I think
- 53:13they're the first team as well to have I think six wins by 30
- 53:16or more points as well because obviously counting in the first
- 53:18round, they have the sweep too. And then they had all those ones
- 53:21in the Timberwolves series where they were just blowing them out.
- 53:23I. Didn't realize how important
- 53:24Caruso was. I remember him playing for the
- 53:26Lakers and I remember when they OKC Thunder traded for him from
- 53:31the Lakers. I think it was a.
- 53:32It was the Bulls, the. Bulls.
- 53:33One in between they traded Josh giddy, remember he was going
- 53:35through all that controversy and he was supposed to be their
- 53:38other point guard at the time to develop with shy and obviously
- 53:41at the off the field, off court issues.
- 53:43That one of the more underrated players, Alex Caruso, but in all
- 53:46of the NBA. And I think it was you fish that
- 53:48when they made that trade, really liked it at the time
- 53:51because it was like a missing piece for what they needed from
- 53:53the veteran off the bench perspective.
- 53:55And that kind of thing is something that OKC I don't think
- 53:58had last year either. I just want to respond to Carl's
- 54:01comments as well. This is not 2 mid majors.
- 54:03Why don't you breathe a little bit?
- 54:04Because. You don't breathe.
- 54:05This is this is not 2 mid majors.
- 54:07Carl the Thunder are the best team in the NBA all season long.
- 54:10They're a 68 win team just because they're a small marker,
- 54:13Carl said in the comment. This is like 2 mid majors making
- 54:15the NCAA basketball final. No, it's not the case.
- 54:17Carl The Thunder, if it was, if it was a 7.
- 54:21What he's saying is they're very young teams.
- 54:23That's what they are. And like they said that the
- 54:26Thunder is what, 25 or or younger their roster?
- 54:30And the Pacers are probably like 20-6 or younger.
- 54:32They're they're two of the youngest rosters in the NBA.
- 54:35We might see this a lot in the next couple of years.
- 54:38If but Carl Carl brings up a .2 for the game of basketball.
- 54:41Do you think that's good? Because he he brought up a point
- 54:43too. And, and do you think that this
- 54:47is going to be watched by a lot of people and.
- 54:49No, like not this year, not this year, I'll tell you what not.
- 54:53Going to get a lot. Of not this year, but if if this
- 54:55is a good series if this if this goes six or seven games and it's
- 55:00back and forth basketball high pace offense yeah, I think you
- 55:04if it happens next year you see them play again in the next
- 55:08three years in the finals. It'll be a very watched series
- 55:11because of what they did. But right now I I don't.
- 55:14Think it's going to get the casual fan to watch like we
- 55:16Obviously no. No, it's going to be a little.
- 55:18Hard New York fans are not going to watch this series because to
- 55:21me, and if they do, they only want to watch OKC Absolutely.
- 55:25Murder, Murder. Murder, murder.
- 55:27Yes. Did you want to see a?
- 55:28Massacre like like Sunny on the Causeway and Godfather one.
- 55:32I can't wait to see Shay. And by the way, I keep looking
- 55:36it up, we keep saying shy. It's S.
- 55:38It's pronounced like Shay. So like Shay.
- 55:41That's interesting, Zach was saying.
- 55:43Zach says real basketball fans will watch and I disagree.
- 55:48I disagree because. Real basketball fans like
- 55:51diehards, of course they're watching.
- 55:53That's think about the think about the type of game this is
- 55:55going to be. This is, I think, a terrible
- 55:57matchup for. My friend my friend is one of
- 56:00the biggest basketball fans in all out of all the sports.
- 56:03He's a big Yankee fan. He's a big Knick fan.
- 56:06After the Knicks lost against obviously the Indiana Pacers.
- 56:10He says I am not going to even put my eyes on that series
- 56:13because he he was so upset. He didn't like the way he blamed
- 56:18the referees. By the way, I'm not going to
- 56:19mention because he knows who I'm talking about.
- 56:21He blamed the referees a lot. It was a little bit of the
- 56:24referees, but it really wasn't Karl Anthony Towns was not good,
- 56:28even though his numbers would tell you differently.
- 56:30He he loves Karl Anthony Towns, by the way.
- 56:33Karl Anthony. Towns he's terrible on default.
- 56:35He's a Knick fan. What do you mean he can happen?
- 56:38If Hardesty hardest time was bet there on defense.
- 56:41They win the series better. I think they win the series.
- 56:43Would have been a lot closer I think.
- 56:45I think they win the series. I don't think they, I don't had.
- 56:47That collapse in game? One, they would have never lost
- 56:49game one, they would have definitely never lost game one.
- 56:52If you had him and Mitchell Robertson in at the same time
- 56:55during the game with OG and Anobi and Mikhail Bridges and
- 56:59Miles McBride, the Knicks win that game.
- 57:01There's no way there's. No way that Carl also says shy
- 57:04that prolific or he just gets to the line it's on.
- 57:05No, he is that prolific. Carl.
- 57:07Like, you know, the Timberwolves fans were chanting about the
- 57:09freaking free throw merchant and all that stuff, but he's
- 57:12electric, dribbling the ball and he's physical.
- 57:14He outplayed Anthony Edwards. Everybody says that Anthony
- 57:19Edwards is a top three player. Really, for the last three
- 57:21years, shy Alexander was a top five player, top six player over
- 57:25the last three years. He became one of the top three
- 57:28offensive players in the NBA this year and that's why he won
- 57:31the MVP. So yeah, he outplayed Anthony
- 57:34Edwards, who went out there before the series saying that
- 57:37I'm going to I'm the best player in this series and I'm going to
- 57:39show why I'm the best player in this series.
- 57:42Boy, oh boy, did he not show he was the best player in the
- 57:45series. And Jayla Brunson, I think he
- 57:47took a step back because he knows how Burton played better
- 57:50than in him in certain aspects of his game.
- 57:52And I think Jalen Brunson in the offseason need to lose a little
- 57:55bit of weight. He looked, I'm going to tell you
- 57:58this, throughout this season, he looked like he put on a little
- 58:01bit of weight and he looked like he got slower.
- 58:04He looked like he got slower later in the season.
- 58:07That's my. Game is in speed.
- 58:08You know, he has those hesitation moves.
- 58:10He he likes to get guys on his hip and then get the fouls.
- 58:13He wasn't getting the fouls in any of these post season series
- 58:17the way that he got him in the regular season.
- 58:19That's frustrating because your game was built upon doing it
- 58:22that way all year and now you're not getting those same calls.
- 58:25So I thought some of that was frustrating to him.
- 58:27He got a lot of foul calls called against him that maybe he
- 58:30didn't get earlier in the year. I don't really know what it was.
- 58:32He knows that he needs to be better than than he was and I
- 58:35expect him to come back guns a blaze in the next year.
- 58:38That being said, Shay Gilligan, Giljous Alexander was a point
- 58:42guard who shot I think 52 and change percent from the field.
- 58:46Most guards don't break four. I think Brunson was the next
- 58:48closest at like 49%. So as like a like a ball
- 58:53dominant point guard. The unbelievable shooting
- 58:56percentages from him, especially going to the line as frequent as
- 58:59he does get. You can call him a free throw,
- 59:02free throw merchant. I actually have a stat that our
- 59:04intern Zach gave me. You know what, you know what, I
- 59:07I'm going to do these kids a favor.
- 59:10Why don't you put, why don't you put these guys in here?
- 59:13I I want to hear, I want to hear quickly Jake's take and then I
- 59:17want to hear what Zack's take is.
- 59:19I mean, they've been back and forth.
- 59:21They're big basketball fans. Let let's hear what these guys
- 59:23got to say. If you want, you can come in on
- 59:26the audio or you could just stay.
- 59:28I'd like to 1st, 1st Jake, I want to hear your take quickly
- 59:31on this series. OKC in the Pacers.
- 59:34Why you think this series is going to be a very highly
- 59:37watched series? Yeah, sure.
- 59:42Yeah. I think it'll be pretty
- 59:43interesting for like, as me and Zach were going back, we're
- 59:46saying for basketball fans, I think it's going to be really
- 59:50respected and watch because both these teams are relatively
- 59:53young. They try really hard.
- 59:55They they, you know, they are in good basketball towns.
- 59:57Like I, I think one of the things that's been lost on it,
- 1:00:00as well as if you look at the OK C Thunders Fan Arena and they
- 1:00:04have all the fans in their T-shirts and they love their
- 1:00:07team and the passion in the stadium, similar to as you're
- 1:00:09talking about Errol with the Knicks, they love.
- 1:00:11Of their basketball team. So I think that that's.
- 1:00:14So do the Steelers. What does that mean?
- 1:00:17Sorry. So do the Steelers.
- 1:00:19That's back-to-back Deuce of the Day, Steelers.
- 1:00:21I hear, I hear you, but I mean, they they haven't especially OK,
- 1:00:25see they haven't been to the finals since I believe 2012.
- 1:00:27They KD, Russ and and Harden, they were a young team, another
- 1:00:31young team as well. Shay just won the MVP and you
- 1:00:35know, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, they've they've grown
- 1:00:37their team with young home grown talent.
- 1:00:39They get to grow up with their team and all their players and
- 1:00:41the Pacers as well, even though Tyrese Halliburton and and
- 1:00:44Pascal Siakam and Miles Turner, a lot of their players are, you
- 1:00:48know, trades. I think that they've built a
- 1:00:50young, like a pretty decently well established core.
- 1:00:53And they love their team as well.
- 1:00:55You know, obviously Indiana for a long time there was the curse.
- 1:00:58You know, they could never really breakthrough having to
- 1:01:00deal with LeBron James a lot. And then Paul George leaves.
- 1:01:02It's actually this Finals is both teams have really been
- 1:01:07built. But yeah, I think this series is
- 1:01:09going to be a lot of fun. I think OKC is going to win and
- 1:01:12they probably win, will win pretty dominantly.
- 1:01:14But I think it will be a fun basketball match up to watch.
- 1:01:18All right, Zach, let's hear your take on this series.
- 1:01:22I think it's going to be a fun series.
- 1:01:23I I think it's going to be well watched with a bunch of NBA fans
- 1:01:27because I don't see both of these teams as being that
- 1:01:31one-on-one type of teams. Like they move the ball around,
- 1:01:33they drive and kick. They move the ball around, They
- 1:01:36pass a lot. It's not like you're watching
- 1:01:38the Lakers with Luka Doncic and everyone else just standing out
- 1:01:41in the corner or or out on the perimeter.
- 1:01:43You have people driving the ball, you shake your side gender
- 1:01:46driving the ball looking to pass if he doesn't score, if he
- 1:01:49doesn't get fouled, obviously. And then on the opposite end you
- 1:01:53have the Pacers who are a fast-paced team.
- 1:01:55They do the same thing. They don't have a player that
- 1:01:57just one-on-one on top of the key.
- 1:01:59They have players that are meant to pass and are meant to shoot
- 1:02:02the ball when they're open. I think it's going to be fun
- 1:02:05series. I'm excited to watch.
- 1:02:06It's they're young and that's why a lot of young kids are
- 1:02:09going to be excited to watch a bunch of young players go at it
- 1:02:12with one another. I do.
- 1:02:14Miss old man LeBron. They're.
- 1:02:15Old First of all, it's the LJA and I just thinking about the
- 1:02:21organization as a whole, that's all I have to think about.
- 1:02:23I don't want to see LeBron James in another Finals again.
- 1:02:26I do believe and I'll say this again, I I think that the Lakers
- 1:02:30are going to be much better next year.
- 1:02:31I think they're going to have a chance to go after another
- 1:02:34superstar to play with LeBron James and the the group of
- 1:02:39craziness with Luka. By the way, did anybody check
- 1:02:41out Luka Doncic? How much weight he's lost
- 1:02:43already, Luke? You know this was coming after
- 1:02:46what they said about him. Did you see what he?
- 1:02:49He's he literally now it's, it's just a bigger middle finger to
- 1:02:52them be like, yeah, if I wanted to do it, I can, yeah.
- 1:02:55He should have posted on social media Attack Nico Harrison.
- 1:02:58He was at, he didn't go to the Knicks series, but he was at the
- 1:03:01OK C Thunder series against I think who did OK C play Nuggets.
- 1:03:06It was the Nuggets. He was at that series.
- 1:03:09He was actually sitting in the audience and they took video of
- 1:03:12him. He looked like he lost 25 lbs.
- 1:03:15Could you imagine? He lost 25.
- 1:03:18Pounds spent like a week in like Lebron's hyperbaric red wine
- 1:03:23chamber. I don't think it had anything to
- 1:03:24do with it. I think he.
- 1:03:25Realized. I think he realized that he has
- 1:03:28an opportunity to win a championship of LeBron James.
- 1:03:31LeBron. And by the way, for anybody that
- 1:03:33thought LeBron James wasn't going to opt into that $52
- 1:03:35million contract, shame on you guys.
- 1:03:38He is absolutely. And he's going to opt into the
- 1:03:40year after because he's got two years left on that damn
- 1:03:43contract. Yeah, he's he's absolutely
- 1:03:47opting into those contracts. Anybody that thought that it was
- 1:03:50all about of? Course, he's going to try and do
- 1:03:52it too, to hopefully like keep his son even on the team.
- 1:03:56Well, so. Hey, Errol, we got one more
- 1:03:59intern over. Here, let's hear what Aaron
- 1:04:01said. New Yorker that I want to hear.
- 1:04:03From unmute yourself my friend, because there you go.
- 1:04:06Well, I mean, looking at the series as a whole, I do think
- 1:04:09it's going to be an enjoyable series.
- 1:04:11Now as a Knick fan, I will only watch if OKC absolutely destroys
- 1:04:16the Pacers. That's what I really want to
- 1:04:19see. But if you really look at a
- 1:04:21stand stand up point, the paint OKC went to seven games with the
- 1:04:28Nuggets Pesky team. The paces are pesky team.
- 1:04:32They really dig in on defense. They they they shoot a lot of
- 1:04:35threes. So if you're going to compare
- 1:04:37these two teams, I feel like if it goes more than 567 games,
- 1:04:43he's going to get a lot more views.
- 1:04:44All right, I I want to hear Scoops deserves an opportunity.
- 1:04:47I would like to hear his. Let's get.
- 1:04:49Let's get Tommy. I might as well get everybody's
- 1:04:51thoughts in this. Series the Hofstra connection
- 1:04:53coming up over here, right? He's not.
- 1:04:55He's not on the. Sub not on the toilet.
- 1:04:57No, he's not on the toilet. Coming at you live from the.
- 1:04:59Toilet. My honest reaction.
- 1:05:03I'm going to turn this on so you can actually see me a little
- 1:05:05better. My honest reaction this series,
- 1:05:09it is going to be very boring now I don't know about if it not
- 1:05:12being watched, it might be very watched like you said I'm going
- 1:05:14to be watching it for. Sure, this makes my pecker
- 1:05:16harder the same. Reason is Aaron, of course I
- 1:05:17would love to see the OK C dominate the Pacers.
- 1:05:20But that's the thing, everybody knows that it's going to be the
- 1:05:22Pacers dominating. I'm sorry, the OK C dominating
- 1:05:25the Pacers. That is exactly the same reason.
- 1:05:27I'm going to bring this up to only for the fact of everybody
- 1:05:30new going into the World Series, going into the NBA Finals 2
- 1:05:35seasons ago when we had the Nuggets in Heat.
- 1:05:37As soon as we saw the last game between the between the Miami
- 1:05:40Heat and the Celtics and the Game 7 series where we let the
- 1:05:43Celtics come back 30 and everything, that was really the
- 1:05:46only highlight because we knew it was going to be Nikola Yokich
- 1:05:48running away with it and stomping over Liver Jimmy
- 1:05:50Butler. So for this exact same reason, I
- 1:05:53don't have any reason why people are actually going to be excited
- 1:05:56for the Pacers. Nobody wanted the Pacers in the
- 1:05:58world and I keep saying the World Series in the NBA Finals.
- 1:06:01Nobody wanted them in the world in the NBA Finals.
- 1:06:03So for that reason, it's going to be boring.
- 1:06:05Probably not. Why?
- 1:06:06Because you're. Well, yeah.
- 1:06:07Yeah, well, Java's going to change, Tommy.
- 1:06:10Scoops. And to go back at what all you
- 1:06:13guys are saying, I know a lot of Knick fans wanted to see the
- 1:06:15Knicks go to the Finals against OK C They want it.
- 1:06:18It didn't matter. It didn't matter who the Knicks
- 1:06:20were going to play as long as it was the Knicks.
- 1:06:22Now, everybody that can't stand, obviously Hal Burton and this
- 1:06:25Pacer team that gave the Knicks no respect after the game.
- 1:06:29Even the only person, Pasco Siakam, actually said some nice
- 1:06:32things about the Knicks, that we played a good team and all that.
- 1:06:35I got to give him a lot of credit because at least he gave
- 1:06:37the Knicks a little bit of credit.
- 1:06:39He gave him a little bit of credit, but everybody else,
- 1:06:42including Hal Burton, had nothing good to say.
- 1:06:45And I got to give the Pacer fans a lot of credit because they
- 1:06:48stood behind their team throughout this series.
- 1:06:51It it didn't matter when the Knicks fans went out there in
- 1:06:54the first game. I think it was what game three
- 1:06:56or game 4 when the Knicks won in in Indiana, what they were
- 1:06:59screaming and all that. The Knicks fans were staying at
- 1:07:01the end of the game and they were dealing with Barclay and
- 1:07:04Shack and they were out there screaming go New York, go New
- 1:07:07York, go New York, go. And then all of a sudden we, we
- 1:07:10watch what the Indiana fans did after the series and they stuck
- 1:07:14it to the New York Knicks fans. And I, you got to give them
- 1:07:16credit. They stood behind.
- 1:07:18I'll tell you one a bunch of fans out there that didn't
- 1:07:21really stand behind their team, that is the 76ers.
- 1:07:24The Philadelphia 76ers did not stand behind their team
- 1:07:28throughout that series against the Knicks last year.
- 1:07:30And even when the Knicks won, they didn't stand behind their
- 1:07:33team. So it it it shows you the type
- 1:07:36of fans Philadelphia and the 76er fans are over there for
- 1:07:40their teams. And that's why Joel Embiid could
- 1:07:41be playing for another organization next year.
- 1:07:43So. By by the way, a bonus deuce of
- 1:07:45the day to our friend Austin Krell, who said the Knicks would
- 1:07:47be out in the first round. Austin Krell throw.
- 1:07:49Throw a little little hate to the Pacers before we finish
- 1:07:53this. Why?
- 1:07:54Because I think they're going to get swept.
- 1:07:55No. Here's my case for them getting
- 1:07:57swept. I think they are worse at every
- 1:08:00position compared to the Thunder at every single position.
- 1:08:05I think the Thunder have 3 guards that they can throw at
- 1:08:09Halliburton, in Shea, in Caruso, in Dort.
- 1:08:14That's going to make him miserable the entire series.
- 1:08:18And who's going to create offense if it's not Halliburton?
- 1:08:21I didn't see much of that whatsoever from the Pacers.
- 1:08:25It was Halliburton high usage driving that and that that's not
- 1:08:28even all of their defenders. Think about what Siakam was for
- 1:08:31them. Well, Siakam is going to be
- 1:08:33giving up three inches to Chet Holmgren.
- 1:08:35Siakam also then if he gets into the hole has Hardenstein, who's
- 1:08:39one of the best help defenders coming on over at the center
- 1:08:41position. That's and Miles Turner was
- 1:08:45garbage against the Knicks in my opinion.
- 1:08:47I don't think he's very good and there's the jury.
- 1:08:49He's been an inconsistent player.
- 1:08:50He shoots too many threes for a big man.
- 1:08:52He's well when he's hitting them, you know he's a good.
- 1:08:54Player, yeah, but he shoots too many.
- 1:08:56Inconsistent Mitch gave him all sorts of trouble, so I I
- 1:09:00personally. Bagel Hope.
- 1:09:01They're in a lot of trouble with their matchups.
- 1:09:03I don't think they match up well whatsoever.
- 1:09:06Jalen Williams, if he goes off on offense, he doesn't even
- 1:09:10really have much to do defensively because Nemhard is
- 1:09:13not an offensive player. Niece Smith gets hot.
- 1:09:16He's like a, First of all, Nimhart is a, he's like a flea.
- 1:09:19What he did to Jaylen defensively, yes, he is
- 1:09:22unbelievable defensively. And by the way, he got under
- 1:09:25Jaylen Brunson's so much in that game.
- 1:09:28He head butted him in the fourth quarter.
- 1:09:30I mean, who didn't see that? I was so very surprised it
- 1:09:32wasn't a flagrant foul called on Jaylen Brunson.
- 1:09:34He didn't give him any space, so he just went straight forward
- 1:09:38and he didn't move his head out of the way.
- 1:09:41Brunson, look, you said Brunson's not strong.
- 1:09:43I disagreed. Brunson's very strong.
- 1:09:44He's like a bulldog out there, but he doesn't have like the
- 1:09:47length to affect people in the same way that a guy like Shay is
- 1:09:51going to affect Halliburton. Halliburton is not stronger than
- 1:09:54Brunson, but Halliburton is faster and longer, can get
- 1:09:56around Brunson and get a shot up over Brunson and he's not going
- 1:09:59to be able to do that against. Shay a lot of hot ladies.
- 1:10:03And he's not going to be able to do that consistently in this
- 1:10:06series, and I think it's four or five games.
- 1:10:08That's I'm putting you on a leash now.
- 1:10:10I think they're -750 for the series of Thunder, for the
- 1:10:13record in Vegas. No, I, I, I think it's going to
- 1:10:16be a lot closer than everybody thinks.
- 1:10:18It's not going to be a sweep. I think the Pacers will put
- 1:10:20pressure on OK C, especially in Indiana.
- 1:10:23I think they can win maybe one or two games in Indiana.
- 1:10:26I think it's going to be a hard take for OKC to go over there to
- 1:10:30OKC and beat them in their home on their homecourt.
- 1:10:32They've been really, really good.
- 1:10:34I think the Nuggets were the only team that beat them on.
- 1:10:36Their homecourt and that was the adversity.
- 1:10:37They needed that type of series because they've been just
- 1:10:39coasting. And I'm going to tell you this,
- 1:10:41Dort is as good of a defensive wing defender in the NBA that
- 1:10:46we've seen in a very long time. So Dort's going to create a lot
- 1:10:49of problems on the offensive, on the offensive side of the ball
- 1:10:53for the Pacers because he he's a great rebounder too.
- 1:10:56And he's he's tough man. He's going to push you around.
- 1:10:58This is a very good all the round team.
- 1:11:01And by the way, OKC in the next three years have six first round
- 1:11:06draft picks. 6. That's how good and young OK C
- 1:11:11is going to be for a very long time.
- 1:11:12This isn't going to be the first and it won't be the last time we
- 1:11:15see OK C the Thunder in the Western Conference final.
- 1:11:19I'd like to thank all the fans that are following us on

- 1:12:15invented the Lambo leap. He was a 2022 Hall of Fame
- 1:12:18inductee. And yes, the guy who invented
- 1:12:21the Lambo leap in the late 90s? Super Bowl champion, A four time
- 1:12:25Pro Bowl. Safety.
- 1:12:26And that was the I was actually going to go to Ohio to watch
- 1:12:31Revis be inducted that year and we were going to go with Josh.
- 1:12:34Remember that. Yeah, I remember that.
- 1:12:36We were going to go to that that Hall of Fame and Kleco, Joe
- 1:12:41Kleco and Revis went in that year.
- 1:12:44But Leroy was one of the more underrated, one of the greatest
- 1:12:46safeties ever played the game. So it's cool.
- 1:12:49It's kind of cool getting him on the show.
- 1:12:51It's going to be a great interview and he doesn't really
- 1:12:53interview a lot. He doesn't really go on a lot of
- 1:12:55shows. So it's pretty cool that he
- 1:12:57wants to come on the show and talk about his career and being
- 1:13:01inducted to the Hall of Fame. I think there's only been like 6
- 1:13:04safeties ever been inducted into the Hall of Fame and he's one of
- 1:13:07them. It's a pretty cool story, so
- 1:13:09it's great to have him on. I'm looking forward to getting
- 1:13:11Leroy on the show. I'm sure Jabba is.
- 1:13:13I'm sure all of you guys will be very intrigued to hear some of
- 1:13:16the stories that he has in his past and what he's doing in the
- 1:13:20future with all the different organizations he's working with.
- 1:13:23All right, that's it. Thank you, Nick.
- 1:13:25By the way, congratulations to Nick winning his first coaching
- 1:13:29job. Oh, by the way, so Golf Club for
- 1:13:31old Nicky. 17 strikeouts for the old Nick boy.
- 1:13:35It wasn't him throwing the ball, that's for sure.
- 1:13:37Are you surprised? No, I'm not surprised.
- 1:13:40You're always trying to find a way to, you know, stand out and
- 1:13:43you're going to be a good coach. You're a good you're a good
- 1:13:45dude. So I I, I know I don't expect
- 1:13:48anything but greatness for the old wood boy.
- 1:13:51As we Hold on, hold on. I'm going to figure.
- 1:13:54Breaking news Goody has no Woody.
- 1:13:57All right, that's it for our show, ladies and gentlemen.
