- 1:54Speaker 1: get his postgame thoughts as they move on. We'll go
- 1:56Speaker 1: over the scoring summary, the game stats, everything like that,
- 1:58Speaker 1: and a please to welcome on special guest co host
- 2:01Speaker 1: for tonight called the game tonight as the color commentator
- 2:04Speaker 1: on Rogers TV.
- 2:05Speaker 3: That would be Dan Paula Schuck.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Dan, appreciate you taking the time and staying a little
- 2:09Speaker 1: bit after the game to discuss the Rangers moving on.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I'm happy to do, especially after this series victory too.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna be a fun one.
- 2:16Speaker 1: So we'll start with the lineup, because obviously we saw
- 2:20Speaker 1: last night with the Sue Greyhounds being able to have
- 2:23Speaker 1: a big third period to even force this game five
- 2:25Speaker 1: back here tonight.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Both teams flew back after.
- 2:29Speaker 1: The quick turnaround, and did you notice a little bit
- 2:33Speaker 1: of fatigue as the game started there, you know, with
- 2:36Speaker 1: both teams on the short rest there and maybe maybe
- 2:39Speaker 1: the jet leg and things like that, like, what did
- 2:41Speaker 1: you think of the start of this game.
- 2:43Speaker 4: I thought both teams came out flying right at the gate.
- 2:45Speaker 4: I don't think it played a factor whatsoever, and I
- 2:47Speaker 4: think that's a lot of that it is owed to
- 2:48Speaker 4: the fact that both flew back and didn't have to
- 2:50Speaker 4: deal with that eight hour bus ride too. So it's
- 2:53Speaker 4: good foresight by both teams with the Rangers flying up
- 2:57Speaker 4: there to begin with, and it paid off in the end.
- 3:00Speaker 4: I think too, is that you saw you know, the
- 3:02Speaker 4: proof is in the putting two goals within the first
- 3:04Speaker 4: five minutes, the seuo'scoring first, and the Rangers spawning and
- 3:08Speaker 4: away we went in this pivotal elimination game that the
- 3:12Speaker 4: Rangers were able to close out this time around, second
- 3:15Speaker 4: time around, if you well, if you're looking at the
- 3:16Speaker 4: last couple of games.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and again they're going to get the winsor spitfires,
- 3:20Speaker 1: which we'll talk about a little bit later on, but
- 3:22Speaker 1: we'll get things started here with the game stats. Sue
- 3:25Speaker 1: only sixteen shots in this game, nine in the first,
- 3:27Speaker 1: three in the second four and the third. Kitchener had
- 3:29Speaker 1: thirty four total in the game eleven, seventeen and six.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I know Sue hit a couple of posts a crossbar,
- 3:37Speaker 1: so it could have been a little bit different. But
- 3:39Speaker 1: you know, for most most of this game, and even
- 3:41Speaker 1: you see Hocus, we'll talk about it in the post game,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you thought that that they were just a better team
- 3:45Speaker 1: all around the series.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and you mentioned the one cross bar and during
- 3:49Speaker 4: a tie hockey game, and then another one that they
- 3:50Speaker 4: had in the third period that could have really changed
- 3:54Speaker 4: the course of the result Tonight's results. So yeah, it's
- 3:57Speaker 4: one where Sue Sue had their chances. But like I
- 4:00Speaker 4: mentioned to my play by play man to my left
- 4:03Speaker 4: side during the broadcast, Jason Hagholme, it was very reminiscent
- 4:07Speaker 4: to me as of the series quinch against Sagan in
- 4:11Speaker 4: the first round, low shot total against at sixteen tonight
- 4:15Speaker 4: at fourteen. In that victory, Christian Kurz was not busy whatsoever.
- 4:18Speaker 4: He had make a couple of big says. Again like tonight,
- 4:20Speaker 4: Dylan Edwards came and came to play in a big
- 4:23Speaker 4: way with an important goal in this one too. So
- 4:25Speaker 4: the Rangers again final way to close it out and
- 4:28Speaker 4: play the kind of that brand of hockey you've been
- 4:29Speaker 4: used to them doing in a third period.
- 4:32Speaker 1: And then The power play for Sue continues to struggle
- 4:35Speaker 1: in the series. They were zero for three tonight again
- 4:38Speaker 1: came in the series. I believe they went to for seventeen,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I believe coming into this game, and the Rangers got one.
- 4:45Speaker 1: But the Sue power play obviously was a big disappointment
- 4:48Speaker 1: because when they have a five man unit that they
- 4:50Speaker 1: can put out there for John Dean's Club, you expected more.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, just the one power play goal by my
- 4:55Speaker 4: Italia all this series long for the Susley Murray Graham.
- 4:57Speaker 4: So that PK for the Rangers was certain, definitely sharp.
- 5:01Speaker 4: The power play had moments. I think Games two and
- 5:03Speaker 4: three really is where they came to shine. But yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 4: it's it's a credit to the Rangers. The special teams
- 5:10Speaker 4: continue to be special, Like you know, the adage goes.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And then face offs thirty one twenty nine in favor
- 5:14Speaker 1: of Kitchener pretty much a wash their Dan.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Most of the most of who doing the work there,
- 5:19Speaker 4: I think is mister Samuel rally.
- 5:21Speaker 3: To nineteen to twenty nine for samuel' riiley.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just doing samuel'reiley things at the faceoff. Dodd
- 5:26Speaker 4: and you talk about the contributions he makes from just
- 5:29Speaker 4: a presence perspective. Goal scoring obviously tonight with the two
- 5:32Speaker 4: empty enters, but those draws are so important. A lot
- 5:35Speaker 4: of those. I'd be curious to know how many of
- 5:37Speaker 4: those wins came in the defensive zone too, and the
- 5:41Speaker 4: Super Greyhounds hand lot those and the Rangers zone in
- 5:43Speaker 4: that third period as they were trying a mount to comeback.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And one player I want to just talk talk about
- 5:48Speaker 1: real quick dan is Brady Martin in the series because
- 5:51Speaker 1: obviously it was a point of emphasis for UC hocus
- 5:53Speaker 1: this team to be able to you know, isolate him,
- 5:55Speaker 1: shut him down. He's, you know, a top five pick
- 5:58Speaker 1: by Nashville for a reason, he's played NHL game. You know,
- 6:00Speaker 1: he was pretty quiet in the series, only a goal
- 6:03Speaker 1: and two assists, and one of them was a secondary
- 6:05Speaker 1: assist in five games, which is very uncharacteristic of Brady Martin.
- 6:08Speaker 1: And he was only six of seventeen on the dot tonight,
- 6:11Speaker 1: so you can tell that the Rangers really did a
- 6:12Speaker 1: good job of trying to take him away and have
- 6:15Speaker 1: some success.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Yeah, and that you know, he's a pugilist, right, He
- 6:18Speaker 4: likes to get in under the skin of his opponents
- 6:20Speaker 4: and I saw that from him for the first two games,
- 6:23Speaker 4: but then it kind of tapered off, and I'm not
- 6:25Speaker 4: exactly sure what happened there. Did he at some point
- 6:28Speaker 4: maybe get dinged up a little bit too? Was there
- 6:30Speaker 4: an potential injury factor that we just don't know about.
- 6:33Speaker 4: But yeah, his game kind of changed through the remaining
- 6:37Speaker 4: three games of this series too, So I truly wonder
- 6:40Speaker 4: if that maybe was a factor in this one.
- 6:42Speaker 1: We know we missed some time earlier in the season,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and you know, it's just it just seemed like we
- 6:47Speaker 1: didn't see the Brady Martin that we would usually see.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I don't know if that was more so Kitchener taking
- 6:51Speaker 1: him away or if that was just him not playing
- 6:53Speaker 1: one hundred percent, But he's never going to make the excuses.
- 6:56Speaker 1: The type of player Brady Martin is. You know, he's
- 6:58Speaker 1: a warrior, and he's there their captain for a.
- 7:00Speaker 4: And you got a thirty plus goalscorer Minosa who you know,
- 7:03Speaker 4: got a couple talies in the series too, But he
- 7:05Speaker 4: wasn't I don't think as consistently dangerous as most SIU
- 7:09Speaker 4: fans have expected it, or I saw him as being
- 7:11Speaker 4: through the regular season too, and through the first round
- 7:14Speaker 4: of the playoffs.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and him Mignosa and Jack Pridam were the two
- 7:18Speaker 1: guys I felt like, we're going to be over ager
- 7:20Speaker 1: of the year and ends up getting it right.
- 7:22Speaker 4: And is it crazy to think that, Priam, we're still
- 7:23Speaker 4: looking at a zero in the goal star column for
- 7:26Speaker 4: the Rangers leading goal scorer in the regular season and
- 7:29Speaker 4: just just wild.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Absolutely, So we'll move forward with the scoring summary tonight.
- 7:34Speaker 1: As you mentioned there off the top fifty four seconds
- 7:36Speaker 1: in the Sue Greyhounds get their first and only goal
- 7:38Speaker 1: of this contest and it was as a cross grease
- 7:41Speaker 1: pass there from Laos over to McKenzie and just like that,
- 7:44Speaker 1: the Greyhounds kind of stunned the odd crowd right away.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Yeah, for goals and four straight for McKenzie and who
- 7:51Speaker 4: would have thought that he would have been the team's
- 7:54Speaker 4: goal scoring leader by the end of the series. But
- 7:56Speaker 4: credit him for really getting the team goal and in
- 7:59Speaker 4: a big way. Fans were rocking here at the Odd
- 8:02Speaker 4: open to put this one to bed early, but they
- 8:05Speaker 4: had other plans and you could have asked for a
- 8:07Speaker 4: better start for the Sue. Unfortunately for them, it only
- 8:10Speaker 4: lasted for about three minutes.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it did, and the Rangers got that game tied
- 8:14Speaker 1: at the four fifty five mark. It was the third
- 8:17Speaker 1: line once again for the fourth time this series, coming
- 8:20Speaker 1: through with the first goal for the Rangers. Cam Reid
- 8:23Speaker 1: finds Ellis, who finds Cam Marquette, who's able to shovel
- 8:26Speaker 1: that puck past Carter George and that was a big
- 8:28Speaker 1: momentum shift for the Rangers and that third line once again.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Yeah, we've seen our cat bounce around all over the place.
- 8:34Speaker 4: He's been as high as the first line, but now
- 8:35Speaker 4: in the third line. And that was some good chemistry
- 8:38Speaker 4: we saw with Alice finding our cat on a nice
- 8:40Speaker 4: backhand feed and then our ketches rifling at home. So
- 8:42Speaker 4: goals them back to back games for him. And he's
- 8:44Speaker 4: been a little snake bitten through these playoffs so far.
- 8:48Speaker 4: But if he can get really rolling, especially heading into
- 8:51Speaker 4: this tough matchup against the Spitfires, having that extra support
- 8:54Speaker 4: from the scoring department from number eleven, it will be huge.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And then so it was one to one after the
- 9:00Speaker 1: first period going into the second. Jared Woolly, you know
- 9:04Speaker 1: the London Night's connection there with Sam O'Reilly, and he's
- 9:06Speaker 1: able to cut down the right wing, make a nice
- 9:08Speaker 1: little little pass to Jared Wooley who was jumped in
- 9:11Speaker 1: on the rush and look like Eric Carlson on that
- 9:13Speaker 1: playoff most and he went forehand for his first goal
- 9:16Speaker 1: of the playoffs. And you can tell that those two,
- 9:19Speaker 1: with the chemistry and playing together with London, that was
- 9:21Speaker 1: just a really nice lit setup totally.
- 9:23Speaker 4: We were talking about during the second mission actually as
- 9:25Speaker 4: they were thinking that it might have been off side
- 9:28Speaker 4: at the blue line. Obviously they would have taken a
- 9:30Speaker 4: look at it. The officials would have won the iPad.
- 9:32Speaker 4: It was close, but you know, it speaks to that
- 9:34Speaker 4: timing you're talking about, that chemistry those two have in
- 9:37Speaker 4: familiarity and being able to find Wooly in stride like that,
- 9:41Speaker 4: And of all the states Carter George made tonight, that
- 9:44Speaker 4: was the one I was kind of surprised he didn't make.
- 9:46Speaker 4: You know, you don't want to take a credit away
- 9:47Speaker 4: from Wooly for being able to create an opportunity for himself.
- 9:51Speaker 4: But we've seen George make tougher saves for sure.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And Carter George, he was doing all he could in
- 9:56Speaker 1: this game, right, But there was a few great a
- 9:58Speaker 1: scoring chances. Another one here Dylan Edwards is able to
- 10:01Speaker 1: take the pass from Biliki and go in there and
- 10:04Speaker 1: make a really nice inside out move on Carter George
- 10:06Speaker 1: and go over top of him.
- 10:07Speaker 3: And what can you say?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Abou Dylan Edwards eighth goal of the playoffs and he
- 10:10Speaker 1: continues to be such a great find for Mike McKenzie
- 10:13Speaker 1: coming over from the Erie Otters.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Forty goals scorer. As I mentioned off the top of
- 10:16Speaker 4: the broadcast, the fact that he said, you take away
- 10:19Speaker 4: the games that he had at the start of the
- 10:21Speaker 4: season with Eerie, he still set what would have been
- 10:23Speaker 4: a career high with twenty five goals in the time
- 10:25Speaker 4: with the Rangers, which he's never done before. But just
- 10:29Speaker 4: impress the stuff for Dylan Edwards. So what he's done
- 10:32Speaker 4: since joining the Blue Shirt. So he's just been a
- 10:34Speaker 4: joy to watch and for an undersized player, he's the
- 10:37Speaker 4: easy guy to root for too. He goes to the
- 10:39Speaker 4: dirty areas and he just has flashes of brilliance for
- 10:43Speaker 4: a kid his age too. And I know he's, you know,
- 10:46Speaker 4: a veteran in this league and maybe you don't call
- 10:48Speaker 4: him a kid, but who knows where you know pro
- 10:51Speaker 4: hockey will take him at this point. But for right now. Anyways,
- 10:55Speaker 4: he's proven and really be a stall war here.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Dan, You've you've watched more games obviously the Ranger that
- 11:00Speaker 1: I have this season. But it seems like Dylan Edwards
- 11:02Speaker 1: from every time I hear his name called, he has
- 11:05Speaker 1: a massive reception here. He's almost a fan favorite from
- 11:08Speaker 1: this auditorium crowd. And even though he's not from Kitchener,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I feel like he's becoming a Kitchener native.
- 11:12Speaker 4: We've heard dang Dylan a few times Jason Oil on
- 11:15Speaker 4: the call, and I think it started at kind of
- 11:18Speaker 4: gain some traction around he used to have here too,
- 11:20Speaker 4: whenever he's able to put one them back in the neck,
- 11:21Speaker 4: which wine, which has happened with a lot of frequency.
- 11:24Speaker 4: But I think it's just a comfort level too. Like
- 11:26Speaker 4: he got his opportunities in Eerie, but the surrounding cast
- 11:30Speaker 4: just made him a better player in the end. And
- 11:33Speaker 4: what a time in his career to get that opportunity too.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Absolutely. That was his eighth goal of the playoffs.
- 11:38Speaker 1: That was technically a power play goal even though it
- 11:40Speaker 1: was right near the end of the power play for
- 11:42Speaker 1: the Rangers. That was their lone power play tally of
- 11:45Speaker 1: the game. They're up three to one going to the third.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Do you have anything on that. I guess many, Donnie Brook.
- 11:51Speaker 1: We saw at the end of the period where Sue
- 11:53Speaker 1: got three penalties in one sequence, none to the Rangers,
- 11:56Speaker 1: two ten minute misconducts that were handed out to Crosskery
- 11:59Speaker 1: and Hayes, and Clutech got a minor penalty out of that.
- 12:02Speaker 4: If I'm John Dean, it's hard not to be livid
- 12:04Speaker 4: after taking those penalties. After the whistle no less too right,
- 12:08Speaker 4: So that to me was a bit of a momentum killer,
- 12:11Speaker 4: if you will, for the Greyhounds and trying to mount
- 12:12Speaker 4: any sort of comeback and you lose your top line winger,
- 12:16Speaker 4: granted your third pairing d but it's that Hayes ten
- 12:21Speaker 4: and misconduct that really I think took a slight window
- 12:25Speaker 4: of their sales.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And then early in the third period, Brady Martin ripped
- 12:28Speaker 1: the crossbar. I think he had another. I think he
- 12:30Speaker 1: hit the post in the first period as well, so
- 12:33Speaker 1: he could have had a few goals in this game,
- 12:34Speaker 1: but that one doesn't go the Rangers way that they
- 12:37Speaker 1: were down three to one. If that goal would have
- 12:38Speaker 1: winn early in the third period, maybe we were looking
- 12:40Speaker 1: at different hockey.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Well, exactly right. It was a tight game up and
- 12:43Speaker 4: like the score line is not indicative to how close
- 12:46Speaker 4: this game probably was or was period. So you know,
- 12:50Speaker 4: you credit them for the push that pushback that they
- 12:52Speaker 4: provided it. Unfortunately for the Grehunds again it was a
- 12:55Speaker 4: little it wasn't enough pushback, No it wasn't.
- 12:58Speaker 1: But they pulled the goaltender with fifty left. Through the
- 13:01Speaker 1: Sue Greyhounds down two, we saw them have some I
- 13:04Speaker 1: guess issues with pulling the goalie back in game two.
- 13:07Speaker 1: That was where they weren't sure if they were gonna
- 13:09Speaker 1: pull the goalie. They they called the time out with
- 13:11Speaker 1: two fifty left. They left Georgie at the blue line.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Then he ended up coming off and o'reiley scored an
- 13:17Speaker 1: empty net goal. At least they got the goalie pulled
- 13:19Speaker 1: a little bit earlier this time, knowing they needed the
- 13:21Speaker 1: two goals. But it was deja vu again, as Sam O'Reilly.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Not the prettiest goal you're going to score. But he
- 13:26Speaker 1: goes hard to the net and it goes off of
- 13:28Speaker 1: his leg and in and he goes hard into the
- 13:31Speaker 1: into the net and you're wondering, oh cool, he's okay,
- 13:34Speaker 1: But he was able to get up, but he steals
- 13:36Speaker 1: it with that empty netter.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Well yeah, and it's the second home game in a
- 13:39Speaker 4: row that he's potted a pair of empty netters too,
- 13:42Speaker 4: which is a little fun fact there. But yeah, I
- 13:44Speaker 4: think they were the Rangers fans were holding them. We
- 13:47Speaker 4: were kind of collecting our holding our collective brats there
- 13:49Speaker 4: as he took that post hard falling down too. So
- 13:54Speaker 4: being the offensive and just team leader overall that he is,
- 13:57Speaker 4: you just hope, like, oh my gosh, you hope he's okay.
- 14:00Speaker 4: And yeah, that was a good thing. Like he's skating around.
- 14:03Speaker 4: He gave the salute, raising a stick to the crowds,
- 14:05Speaker 4: you know, indicating as such. So that was I think
- 14:09Speaker 4: a relief for ranging nation.
- 14:10Speaker 1: No, it was, And as you mentioned, he got his
- 14:13Speaker 1: tenth goal of the playoffs, fourth empty netter of the
- 14:15Speaker 1: series to seal it there five to one with the
- 14:18Speaker 1: twenty seconds left. And again Sam O'Reilly, full disclosure, he's
- 14:22Speaker 1: my nominee for the Red tolst in this season. I
- 14:25Speaker 1: think what he's brought to the Rangers since he's come over,
- 14:27Speaker 1: as you guys would know on the broadcast, since he's
- 14:30Speaker 1: come over from London has just added just such a
- 14:33Speaker 1: different piece and a dynamic to this club that maybe
- 14:36Speaker 1: they were missing. And you know, with a forty six
- 14:38Speaker 1: goals sort like Jack Pridham could have easily been the
- 14:40Speaker 1: nominee for the Rangers. But you can only have one.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And I think samu ol' riiley proved in the series
- 14:45Speaker 1: why he's sort of taken the lead of this Rangers team.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Yeah, and every London Night fan is basically saying, you're
- 14:49Speaker 4: a welcome kitchener for both Sam O'Reilly and probably Jared Willey.
- 14:53Speaker 4: But hey, you know what, credit you have to credit
- 14:56Speaker 4: the Rangers organization and specifically Mike McKenzie for pulling trigger
- 14:59Speaker 4: on these moves. It starts with Dylan Edwards, Gabe Trod
- 15:02Speaker 4: earlier in the season as well, who's proved to be
- 15:04Speaker 4: a nice depth piece. And then the picktu're sending over
- 15:08Speaker 4: Lendon's way to get Jared Willard, to get Sam O'Reilly.
- 15:11Speaker 4: If again, I've mentioned it on air and I'll say
- 15:15Speaker 4: it again, I'll be on my pedestal if he isn't
- 15:18Speaker 4: the winner of this year's General Manager of the Year award.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I think that that's a travesty.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It would definitely, he's definitely in the conversation. I think
- 15:27Speaker 1: for the top three at least.
- 15:29Speaker 4: At least Yeah, we'll.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Be humble on that one.
- 15:32Speaker 1: But as you mentioned, three guys, they acquired three stars tonight,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Sam o'reiley two goals to assist plus three Dylan Edwards
- 15:38Speaker 1: goal and to assist was the second star, Jared Wooley
- 15:40Speaker 1: third star one goal, one assist.
- 15:42Speaker 4: So there, you can't go wrong with that. That's probably
- 15:45Speaker 4: the easiest pickings we've had in a little while.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I do want to say Christian kersh On, I believe
- 15:49Speaker 1: it was one of the Sue power plays. Came up
- 15:51Speaker 1: with a few big saves. I know he's not going
- 15:53Speaker 1: to be talked about a whole lot in the series.
- 15:55Speaker 1: He came up with four breakaways in that second period
- 15:57Speaker 1: back in Game two. That really was able the secure
- 16:00Speaker 1: Kitchener that victory. But how did you think that he
- 16:04Speaker 1: played going up against you know, an elite prospect in
- 16:06Speaker 1: Carter George Oh.
- 16:07Speaker 4: I think he held his own very well. And you know,
- 16:10Speaker 4: two nineteen year old goaltenders to NHL prospects who we
- 16:14Speaker 4: might very well see square off again at the next level,
- 16:17Speaker 4: if not the HL, the NHL Perraps down the road
- 16:19Speaker 4: and two Western Conference opponents in mind, you with George
- 16:23Speaker 4: being the King's prospect and Kersh with the Sharks. So yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 4: to answer your question, I think Kersh has settled in
- 16:30Speaker 4: nicely into his first foray into ohl playoff hockey, this
- 16:35Speaker 4: being his first year with the Rangers, and you can't
- 16:38Speaker 4: sniff at that. And you know, eight wins to just
- 16:40Speaker 4: the one loss in this postseason, and yeah, you get
- 16:43Speaker 4: credit a lot of the team and in front of you,
- 16:44Speaker 4: but he's come out with a lot of big time
- 16:48Speaker 4: saved in big moments, and that's the thing he's He's
- 16:51Speaker 4: been that calm presence in the blue eye so the
- 16:52Speaker 4: Rangers all season, and I think that goes un heralded
- 16:55Speaker 4: a lot of time.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Has anything caught your eye from the handshake line? I
- 16:59Speaker 1: know cam Reeve and Brady Marton have a strong relationship,
- 17:02Speaker 1: not only because they're both Nashville first round prospects, but
- 17:06Speaker 1: they've played together in the summer leagues and things like that.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Anything catcher either.
- 17:09Speaker 4: I think that's the biggest thing, you know, the side,
- 17:11Speaker 4: the look of respect those two have towards each other,
- 17:13Speaker 4: and obviously they've talked about their mutual friendship and how
- 17:17Speaker 4: deep that bond goes, and it's only going to get
- 17:19Speaker 4: stronger here as they progress in their professional careers and
- 17:23Speaker 4: what as they work towards both the putting on that
- 17:26Speaker 4: predator's jersey in the near future relatively in your future,
- 17:29Speaker 4: you hope. So yeah, just you know, two good friends
- 17:32Speaker 4: going to battle here and that mutual respect for school
- 17:35Speaker 4: to see.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Lastly, before we hit the break, what are your I
- 17:37Speaker 1: guess closing thoughts for the Greyhounds, because you know that's
- 17:40Speaker 1: a tough end, right They go and acchoire Carter George,
- 17:42Speaker 1: they go and acquire Lucas Fisher from Sarnia, You get
- 17:45Speaker 1: Brady Martin back. You were hoping that you were at
- 17:48Speaker 1: least going to get to the Western Conference final, but
- 17:50Speaker 1: you end up facing the one seed in the second
- 17:52Speaker 1: round and it doesn't go your way. You almost get swept.
- 17:54Speaker 1: To have a big third period and pourth force at
- 17:56Speaker 1: the game five. But if you're the Greyhounds, what are
- 17:59Speaker 1: you thinking right now?
- 18:00Speaker 4: Well, yeah, you did definitely didn't think you'd be you'd
- 18:03Speaker 4: be the victim of a gentleman's sweep. If you will,
- 18:05Speaker 4: you know, winning with the Rangers winning in here, in
- 18:08Speaker 4: five games, and they definitely gave up a lot of
- 18:11Speaker 4: draft assets to acquire Carter George. So yeah, absolutely the
- 18:17Speaker 4: mission was not accomplished here this season. They've yet to
- 18:21Speaker 4: pass the second round under a head coach John Dean,
- 18:23Speaker 4: and I'm sure there'll be some questions there and in
- 18:26Speaker 4: terms of, you know, the leadership of the team too,
- 18:29Speaker 4: what will it take to get them over the hump?
- 18:32Speaker 4: Now the attention terms of what kind of year they'll
- 18:34Speaker 4: have next year obviously, is it's gonna be a maybe
- 18:37Speaker 4: a bit of a younger team or what's the ross
- 18:38Speaker 4: going to look like?
- 18:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Kyle Raftis has his work cutout for him.
- 18:42Speaker 1: If Brady Martin is going to be up at least
- 18:43Speaker 1: in the American Hockey League, if not with the Nashville
- 18:46Speaker 1: Pretator's next season. But the Rangers moving on, the Greyhounds
- 18:48Speaker 1: are out Kitchener and Winsor coming up in the Western
- 18:52Speaker 1: Conference Final. We're gonna take a quick commercial break, We're

- 21:31Speaker 1: give us a five star rating if you enjoyed the
- 21:33Speaker 1: content here. Brandik Puto joined alongside guest co host Dan
- 21:36Speaker 1: Paul Schuck from the Kitchener Rangers, Rogers TV broadcast color
- 21:41Speaker 1: commentator for the Rangers, alongside Jason Hagholm.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Does a great job here.
- 21:44Speaker 4: And you do a great job, sir. That shouldn't go
- 21:46Speaker 4: on heralded. So well done and getting this going off
- 21:49Speaker 4: the ground.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Absolutely, I do my best.
- 21:51Speaker 1: But we're in a great setup here from live from
- 21:56Speaker 1: the odd one of my favorite rinks in all of
- 21:58Speaker 1: junior hockey. And I'm not just saying that because you're
- 22:00Speaker 1: standing here state sitting here beside me.
- 22:02Speaker 4: It's hard to debate that, right it is.
- 22:04Speaker 1: It's hard to debate it. Don't necessarily like walking up
- 22:07Speaker 1: all the stairs. But hey, you know what, I didn't
- 22:10Speaker 1: get to go to the gym today, so that was
- 22:11Speaker 1: my work here. So again we're continuing to break down
- 22:14Speaker 1: this the Rangers clinching game here in game five, they
- 22:18Speaker 1: probably should have closed it out last night a bat
- 22:19Speaker 1: third period they were up to nothing, who scored four goals,
- 22:22Speaker 1: And here we were with both teams flying back for
- 22:25Speaker 1: this quick turnaround and the Rangers closing it out there
- 22:28Speaker 1: by a I forget the score of the five to
- 22:30Speaker 1: one was the end up final with O'Reilly getting the
- 22:33Speaker 1: two empty netters, they win the series for to one
- 22:36Speaker 1: and they will go and play the Windsor Spitfires. So
- 22:39Speaker 1: before we get to Rangers head coach, you see a
- 22:42Speaker 1: hocus on the postgame, Dan, anything else you want to
- 22:44Speaker 1: mention sort of about what you're thinking of this Rangers
- 22:47Speaker 1: team now going up against Windsor. You know, it's a
- 22:50Speaker 1: rematch from last season in the playoffs, and we know
- 22:53Speaker 1: Windsor is sort of out for blood, so to speak,
- 22:55Speaker 1: with the way that that series ended with the reverse sweep.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So what do you think in early prediction from this one?
- 23:00Speaker 4: Well early before I get into the prediction, I'm just
- 23:03Speaker 4: I think the Rangers are grateful for the fact that
- 23:06Speaker 4: they've played essentially the same amount of games to get
- 23:09Speaker 4: to where they're at to face the spit as the
- 23:11Speaker 4: Spitfires to the Western Conference Final, because they'll be essentially
- 23:15Speaker 4: equally as fresh as the spitz are too, and I
- 23:17Speaker 4: think both teams essentially came away unscathed the injury wise too.
- 23:21Speaker 4: With with out of that series for Windsor against Flint
- 23:25Speaker 4: and here against the Sue Greyhounds. Knock on wood, the
- 23:29Speaker 4: Rangers didn't have anyone dinged up, Jason, and maybe correct
- 23:32Speaker 4: me on that one as you kind of listen listening
- 23:35Speaker 4: from the left side of here. But prediction wise, I
- 23:40Speaker 4: legit think this is going six games Rangers, and six
- 23:45Speaker 4: is my pick. And again it'll be very similar I
- 23:49Speaker 4: think to what we expected of the Sioux series and
- 23:51Speaker 4: saw spurts of where you're gonna have a lot of
- 23:55Speaker 4: close finishes. We didn't have. You know, I have four
- 23:58Speaker 4: goals spread here a ton eight in the end, but
- 24:00Speaker 4: I think it's a lot more games right to the wire,
- 24:02Speaker 4: right to the final horror one goal decisions. We got
- 24:06Speaker 4: great goal taming on both sides, you know, offense, for sure,
- 24:11Speaker 4: I think the Rangers have an advantage from a defensive
- 24:13Speaker 4: side of things. But yeah, is the Rangers certainly were
- 24:18Speaker 4: one of the few teams that seemed to be able
- 24:20Speaker 4: to solve Joy Costanzo and the Spitfires this year. It's
- 24:23Speaker 4: whether they can carry that over now into the playoffs.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Game one three to one in favor of Kitchener eight
- 24:30Speaker 1: five in game two. Game three was four to three.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Game four as we mentioned last night, so who came
- 24:35Speaker 1: back to make it four too, and then tonight a
- 24:37Speaker 1: five to one convincing victory for the Kitchener Rangers to
- 24:41Speaker 1: close this thing out. From the winsors perspective, Dan, I'm
- 24:45Speaker 1: curious because of how easy Flint had it in round
- 24:49Speaker 1: one against that just a disaster of the own sound
- 24:52Speaker 1: attack that had no offense to them.
- 24:54Speaker 3: But it was it was.
- 24:55Speaker 1: It was a free fall and the biggest goal differential
- 24:58Speaker 1: in OHL playoff history for a series matchup.
- 25:02Speaker 4: That's a black mark on the organization, unfortunately, I think.
- 25:05Speaker 4: And that's just a bad look, isn't it.
- 25:07Speaker 1: And I feel like that might have almost hurt Flint
- 25:09Speaker 1: because they had it too easy.
- 25:11Speaker 3: We saw how many goals.
- 25:12Speaker 1: They put up and sort of just cruise through that
- 25:16Speaker 1: series against Owen Sound and then they go up against
- 25:17Speaker 1: Windsor and they get absolutely just train wreck right like
- 25:22Speaker 1: freight train. They lost four nothing, they got swept after that,
- 25:26Speaker 1: swept the Owen Sound attacks. So I almost felt like,
- 25:29Speaker 1: you know, this Windsor team is very strong, and I
- 25:31Speaker 1: don't want to say that Flint, you know, came into
- 25:33Speaker 1: the series riding too high and knowing that what they
- 25:36Speaker 1: were going to get from this Windsor Spitfires team. But
- 25:38Speaker 1: if you're the Rangers, you got to look at that
- 25:40Speaker 1: and say, we got to be on the top of
- 25:42Speaker 1: our game here for sure.
- 25:43Speaker 4: And the Ranges are quick studies they and we saw
- 25:47Speaker 4: an example of that tonight where they had that ten
- 25:49Speaker 4: bad minutes really in the fifteen bad minutes in the
- 25:51Speaker 4: third period last night, and then all of a sudden,
- 25:55Speaker 4: they're playing a brand of hockey that we're more familiar
- 25:58Speaker 4: with from you know, a Rangers perspective, and they come
- 26:01Speaker 4: out with it on with the victory. So you don't
- 26:05Speaker 4: see much regrets when it comes to the Rangers. They
- 26:08Speaker 4: make mistakes, yes, like any other team, but being such
- 26:11Speaker 4: a veteran Leyden squad, they don't take much time to
- 26:15Speaker 4: learn from their errors. And I think that's another reason
- 26:18Speaker 4: why we saw another one hundred points season four Kitchener
- 26:21Speaker 4: and going up against the Windsors Pitfires, who maybe make
- 26:25Speaker 4: the argument, well, did they have it easy against the
- 26:27Speaker 4: Flint Firebirds and coming into the series against the Rangers,
- 26:29Speaker 4: who didn't necessarily have it easy against the Sue Greyhounds,
- 26:32Speaker 4: you know, the top on an eight five game five
- 26:35Speaker 4: to one here, which was essentially a three to one game.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Without those two empty matters, You've got a couple other
- 26:40Speaker 4: close finals, so certainly the Rangers were challenging the series.
- 26:45Speaker 4: It's the score lines weren't in neecessarily indicative of how
- 26:48Speaker 4: this head to head went.
- 26:49Speaker 1: We're gonna get a one verse two matchup in the
- 26:51Speaker 1: Western Conference. This one's going to be a really good one.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I look forward to covering it. But let's get fun. Yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 1: it's going to be a lot of fun too.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Again, historic franchises with fan bases right yep.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Two great buildings WFCU Center in the odd both can
- 27:04Speaker 1: get rocking and expect to have sold out Western Conference Final.
- 27:07Speaker 3: It's gonna be gonna be a great one.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So let's get to Rangers head coach you see a
- 27:11Speaker 1: hocus on the post game and get his thoughts on
- 27:13Speaker 1: his team advancing to the Western Conference Final.
- 27:16Speaker 8: Like we're here ringside the Rangers head coach. You see
- 27:19Speaker 8: a hocus. You see you guys got over the line.
- 27:22Speaker 8: Here in game five, how much of the preparation came
- 27:26Speaker 8: to fruition out there on the ice in a in
- 27:28Speaker 8: a game after where they came back in that sad Game.
- 27:30Speaker 9: Four, I thought we did a good job, like to
- 27:33Speaker 9: this the game. We were a better team the whole time.
- 27:36Speaker 9: We defended well, we got the goals what we needed
- 27:40Speaker 9: the whole series. When we look our penalty, Gill was
- 27:42Speaker 9: rodeto great job.
- 27:45Speaker 7: We played.
- 27:45Speaker 9: Maybe I would say first or second, one bad period
- 27:48Speaker 9: in the one ten bad ten minutes, but we were
- 27:51Speaker 9: the better team in this series. We played better and
- 27:53Speaker 9: pretty much every game we won the expected goals, even
- 27:57Speaker 9: even yesterday even though we lost.
- 27:59Speaker 7: So it's uh, they have a great goalie.
- 28:01Speaker 4: We knew it.
- 28:02Speaker 9: We still we could score score goals on them. So
- 28:06Speaker 9: really pleased how the boys played. And today there was
- 28:09Speaker 9: no question the boys showed up and we did what
- 28:12Speaker 9: we We didn't want to go back to back to
- 28:14Speaker 9: Sue anymore.
- 28:16Speaker 8: You spent a lot of this game switching around lineups
- 28:19Speaker 8: and trying different forward lines.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Did you like what you saw out there from the changes?
- 28:23Speaker 7: To me, oh, they look good. Well, it'll be like playoffs.
- 28:26Speaker 9: Everybody plays where it it doesn't matter we have like
- 28:31Speaker 9: we've been changing a little bit in the first I
- 28:33Speaker 9: think Humphreys played really well in the first line there,
- 28:36Speaker 9: and we'll see how we how we advanced. All the
- 28:39Speaker 9: lines played today good, But then I'm gonna have to
- 28:41Speaker 9: say we changed after two wins. We changed a little
- 28:45Speaker 9: bit lines. So it's good. We have a lot of
- 28:47Speaker 9: a lot of options.
- 28:49Speaker 8: I know that you would have wanted the one day
- 28:51Speaker 8: of extra rest, but coming back here and clinching this
- 28:53Speaker 8: series in front of these fans in the way that
- 28:55Speaker 8: they were responding to you guys tonight, it's got to
- 28:57Speaker 8: feel pretty good.
- 28:58Speaker 9: Of course we got from home games, think of the
- 29:02Speaker 9: organization and get some money for the team.
- 29:06Speaker 8: For you guys now after a series where you know
- 29:08Speaker 8: it was a four to one series win, but the
- 29:10Speaker 8: Sue Greyhounds they played your hard.
- 29:12Speaker 7: How much does that help you now going into the
- 29:13Speaker 7: Western Conference finals.
- 29:14Speaker 9: No, we're tight. They played hard, for sure, They're a
- 29:16Speaker 9: good team. Hell of our first line and.
- 29:21Speaker 7: All and all. So it was a.
- 29:23Speaker 9: Good series and I think again it was a harder
- 29:27Speaker 9: series than Saginaw, and and that's how it will go.
- 29:30Speaker 9: Next series again will be a little bit harder, and
- 29:32Speaker 9: we just have to keep getting better.
- 29:34Speaker 8: Plenty of history between those two teams, your Rangers and
- 29:38Speaker 8: the winsor spitfires. How much preparation this week or what
- 29:41Speaker 8: will you be focusing on this week in preparation for
- 29:44Speaker 8: those finals.
- 29:45Speaker 7: Let's have a couple of days off and let's start then.
- 29:48Speaker 9: But yeah, we'll practice and see but normal way how
- 29:50Speaker 9: we always do, and look how they play, go through
- 29:54Speaker 9: their special teams and just go. We have a set,
- 29:58Speaker 9: normal set like we go one game at a time
- 30:01Speaker 9: and we just get prepared and yeah, and then we'll
- 30:04Speaker 9: see when the next Friday when it starts here at
- 30:07Speaker 9: the odd Thank you two years in a row to.
- 30:10Speaker 3: The conference final having been there?
- 30:14Speaker 7: Does that help you guys going back?
- 30:17Speaker 9: Of course it does, like lay up the experience you
- 30:19Speaker 9: can't buy. And uh, that was huge for us last
- 30:23Speaker 9: year that we were there. Even though we played we
- 30:26Speaker 9: lost to London, but still the experience.
- 30:28Speaker 7: Of those games, it's big. How is it different this time? Now?
- 30:33Speaker 7: We're ready for it. Now we're ready for it, and
- 30:35Speaker 7: I think we.
- 30:35Speaker 9: Believe we can also there's a belief, we really believe
- 30:38Speaker 9: that we can win.
- 30:39Speaker 3: What do you think about windsor as a fault?
- 30:41Speaker 7: No, they're they're a good team.
- 30:42Speaker 9: Of course, they're a good team, and they defend will Uh, there'll.
- 30:45Speaker 7: Be a tough series. You guys gonna fly to windsor
- 30:50Speaker 7: maybe so.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Coach, what did you learn from last night and that
- 30:54Speaker 1: third period and being able to dial it back and
- 30:56Speaker 1: get the guys ready and refocused for finishing the job
- 30:58Speaker 1: at hand tonight?
- 31:00Speaker 9: Yeah, I thought like we just didn't play like you
- 31:02Speaker 9: have to play like you have to play. You can't
- 31:04Speaker 9: be any here heels, you have to be on your tolls,
- 31:06Speaker 9: and that's I thought we were.
- 31:08Speaker 7: We did that.
- 31:08Speaker 1: How did you feel about the third line? They've scored
- 31:10Speaker 1: the first goal in four games in this series. What
- 31:13Speaker 1: can you say about those guys being able to be
- 31:14Speaker 1: energy for your top six and being able to get
- 31:17Speaker 1: you guys momentum like that?
- 31:18Speaker 4: Well, it's huge.
- 31:20Speaker 7: We always think it.
- 31:21Speaker 9: Even our fourth line scored two goals, so it's uh,
- 31:24Speaker 9: as we always say we need everybody, man, we're fore
- 31:27Speaker 9: long where we need everybody who's involved, and that just
- 31:30Speaker 9: shows we have depth in our lineup.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Lastly, why has Samuel Riley's presence been so big for
- 31:35Speaker 1: this team? Your Red Tail sosnominee for Most Valuable Player
- 31:38Speaker 1: what has he brought to this group and really helped
- 31:40Speaker 1: you elevate since he got here.
- 31:41Speaker 7: No, he's all right.
- 31:42Speaker 9: He's a warrior, he's a compit earner, he wants to win,
- 31:45Speaker 9: and he plays a great two way game, and he's
- 31:48Speaker 9: a leader, leader on the eyes and off the ice.
- 31:50Speaker 7: So yeah, he's a great player.
- 31:53Speaker 1: There was U see Hocus Kitchener Rangers head coach post
- 31:56Speaker 1: game following the Rangers clinching this second round series and
- 32:01Speaker 1: moving on to face the windsor Spitfires in the West Final.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Dan, did you have any takeaways from what UC said tonight?
- 32:07Speaker 4: Well, obviously he always has a respect for his opponents
- 32:10Speaker 4: and every good coach does, so he's not you know,
- 32:13Speaker 4: he's always wanted to keep it, keep it even keeled,
- 32:15Speaker 4: I think in his celebrations. But at the same time,
- 32:20Speaker 4: he's always wanted to shout out as players when they
- 32:23Speaker 4: deserve it. But I think he likes keeping them in
- 32:25Speaker 4: check and keep their feet where where they're at right
- 32:29Speaker 4: so until they kind of ultimately reach that goal, which
- 32:31Speaker 4: is again this year, you made that very clear Ohl Final.
- 32:34Speaker 4: They got to take that next step having lost out
- 32:36Speaker 4: in the Western Conference final a year ago. So I
- 32:39Speaker 4: don't think we'll see get a true sense of how
- 32:42Speaker 4: he's feeling until we get to that stage.
- 32:44Speaker 3: I just love his quotes sometimes, just the.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Very finish of him, isn't it.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I like the It was good. We got
- 32:50Speaker 1: more money for the team by coming back for a
- 32:52Speaker 1: game five.
- 32:53Speaker 4: That's it. We got to get that gate.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Maybe we'll fly to winsor you know, stuff like that.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I don't know, he's just I just love listening to
- 33:01Speaker 1: him talks.
- 33:01Speaker 7: Well.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Also with those charter bills, right, they don't come cheap.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess so. And then the playoff experience you
- 33:06Speaker 3: can't buy.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And we're ready for it this time around when asked
- 33:10Speaker 1: about what what you're thinking about winsor.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Well, especially when you got the returning players who experienced
- 33:15Speaker 4: that kind of bitter, bitter defeat last year, the sweep.
- 33:19Speaker 4: You got both ends of the spectrum. You got O'Reilly
- 33:21Speaker 4: and and Woolley who were here at the odd when
- 33:24Speaker 4: they clinched that Western Conference final. They know what it
- 33:26Speaker 4: takes to win it in hostile territory, no less. And
- 33:30Speaker 4: he got the returning Rangers who felt the pain of
- 33:33Speaker 4: that defeat too. So this is a unique blend, right
- 33:36Speaker 4: now that you know, it's hard to remember the last
- 33:39Speaker 4: time we've seen that kind of combination with the Rangers.
- 33:42Speaker 1: And he shouted out the fourth line as well for
- 33:44Speaker 1: being able to contribute in the series.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Yeah, lechar Anstis and then guys like Gallis picking up
- 33:50Speaker 4: a goal in the series two, and then Cameron Arkad
- 33:54Speaker 4: who dropped down a little bit, Tannelan getting to bump
- 33:57Speaker 4: up to the second line. And you know vermil And
- 34:00Speaker 4: we haven't mentioned his name a lot, but just a
- 34:02Speaker 4: veteran presence at the end of the day too. It's
- 34:04Speaker 4: kind of unheralded what he does. You know, the fact
- 34:07Speaker 4: that you can trust a player and to throw it
- 34:09Speaker 4: as a regular shift. Granted it might be short shifts,
- 34:12Speaker 4: but you're rolling four lines at the stage of the playoffs.
- 34:15Speaker 4: I think that speaks a lot to the quality of
- 34:17Speaker 4: your players.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Before we get to your Player of the game, just
- 34:19Speaker 1: talk about Cam Reid's leadership and what you think that
- 34:21Speaker 1: he's really elevated this year. You know what he was
- 34:24Speaker 1: last year, and he's had such great leadership here. The
- 34:26Speaker 1: Rangers have won over Age Player of the Year the
- 34:29Speaker 1: last three seasons, so we know that that room continues
- 34:32Speaker 1: to pass on the baton in a positive way.
- 34:34Speaker 3: What have you seen from number eighteen?
- 34:36Speaker 4: I think he's just come to realize he's gotten that
- 34:39Speaker 4: little taste of what it takes to be a pro
- 34:41Speaker 4: at the nice level, and it comes across in just
- 34:43Speaker 4: the simple things as his post game or pregame interviews.
- 34:46Speaker 4: If you are intermission of interviews for that matter, I
- 34:49Speaker 4: can't even speak at this point. He's just very thoughtful,
- 34:54Speaker 4: very mature for his age, and I think that transition
- 34:57Speaker 4: or it shows on the ice too. He doesn't get
- 34:59Speaker 4: fake very easily, and he's happy to put the team
- 35:03Speaker 4: on his back. The amount of and rush as we've
- 35:06Speaker 4: seen this year just shows is an example of his
- 35:09Speaker 4: confidence when he's out there, and even if he's leading
- 35:12Speaker 4: the offense and one opportunity, he's getting back and playing
- 35:15Speaker 4: sound defensively in his own ends. So just a skating ability,
- 35:18Speaker 4: it's just taken another We've seen that go to another level.
- 35:21Speaker 4: And I think his assertiveness when it comes to his
- 35:24Speaker 4: offensive game too. He doesn't shy away from just taking
- 35:28Speaker 4: the putt and going with it. Is trusting his instincts.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think even though he might have not
- 35:33Speaker 1: put up the most points in this series. He definitely
- 35:36Speaker 1: made his presence felt on that back end for sure.
- 35:38Speaker 1: He created some opportunities, created some turnovers, came up with
- 35:42Speaker 1: some big defensive plays. He had that one play shop
- 35:45Speaker 1: blocks two and all that stuff that, unfortunately is not
- 35:47Speaker 1: going to show up for us on the Bucks score
- 35:49Speaker 1: I wish we.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Could see all that stuff, but it's all secreted this.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Place the scouts. The scouts are watching and they know,
- 35:55Speaker 4: and that's the important thing at the end of the day.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Absolutely, So, Dan, let's let's get your player of the game.
- 35:59Speaker 1: I'm sure it's gonna be one of the three guys
- 36:02Speaker 1: that's I guess the three stars in this game.
- 36:04Speaker 3: So give me your favorite player of the game, and then.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Maybe an unsung hero that might not show up on
- 36:09Speaker 1: the score sheet tonight.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Sure, so my player of the game is Dylan Edwards.
- 36:13Speaker 4: You know, as big as that what stood out to
- 36:16Speaker 4: be the or stood up at the be the game
- 36:18Speaker 4: winning goal by Jared Woolly. That insurance marker by Edwards,
- 36:21Speaker 4: I think really was the exclamation mark on this one.
- 36:24Speaker 4: It really put I used that as before, but put
- 36:27Speaker 4: the win in the Ranger sales too. I think any
- 36:29Speaker 4: sort of nervous energy that there could have been had
- 36:31Speaker 4: that game stayed to one, and with the super Greyhound
- 36:35Speaker 4: still hanging around. That insurance marker was big, especially in
- 36:38Speaker 4: this elimination game, and just just the energy he brought
- 36:42Speaker 4: shift after a shift, it just contagious and for that consistency,
- 36:47Speaker 4: I think Dylan Edwards was our player of the game.
- 36:49Speaker 3: And unsung hero. Somebody thought it a great great game.
- 36:53Speaker 4: For me, it's again Christian Kirsch. Again, just sixteen shots
- 36:57Speaker 4: that he faced, but he made a lot of importance
- 37:00Speaker 4: in moments where as expected, the Sue Greyhounds showed some pushback,
- 37:04Speaker 4: whether it came after a goal or just in certain
- 37:07Speaker 4: moments too where the Rangers are caught kind of scrambling
- 37:09Speaker 4: in their own zone. Again, he's showing talk about maturity.
- 37:13Speaker 4: He showed that in the crease and again it's not
- 37:15Speaker 4: always about the workload, but it's about the quality, and
- 37:18Speaker 4: he certainly showed some quality in between the pipes. For
- 37:21Speaker 4: Kitchener here tonight, well, Dan.
- 37:23Speaker 1: We're going to look forward to a fun games one
- 37:25Speaker 1: and two here at the Auditorium against Windsor before heading
- 37:28Speaker 1: down to the WSCU Center. This is going to be
- 37:30Speaker 1: a really good Western Conference final, I think for the
- 37:32Speaker 1: first time in a few seasons we could really see
- 37:34Speaker 1: this one go the distance.
- 37:36Speaker 3: This is to me.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I know Branford and how great they are in the
- 37:39Speaker 1: East with going up against either Barry or Ottawa, but
- 37:42Speaker 1: this to me is going to be such a fun
- 37:44Speaker 1: series as one.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Well to play off with UC Hocus was just saying
- 37:46Speaker 4: there's gonna be some good gates for both teams throughout
- 37:49Speaker 4: this series.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Absolutely so, Dan, appreciate you taking the time to do this.
- 37:53Speaker 3: It was a lot of fun and anytime.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Obviously we're going to have more opportunities later on in
- 37:57Speaker 1: the West Finals.
- 37:58Speaker 4: So thanks for the time time, happy to do it,
- 38:00Speaker 4: and a great job again on the show.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Oh thank you. I appreciate that, even though maybe I
- 38:06Speaker 3: don't deserve the credit all the time.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Oh absolutely you do. You do a heck of a
- 38:09Speaker 4: job man.
- 38:10Speaker 3: All right, appreciate it.
- 38:10Speaker 1: So that's going to wrap up today's OHL overtime episode

- 38:31Speaker 3: I guess top five lists that have been coming out.
- 38:35Speaker 4: But that was a lot of fun. I definitely child
- 38:38Speaker 4: myself and embarrassingly so, but that was a lot of fun.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Still one more to comment. Maybe we'll get some more
- 38:43Speaker 1: as we go forward in the playoffs. So for my
